(00:07):
Well, I want to welcome youto Healing Begins. My name is Pastor
Gail, and I have with meMichelle Hutchason from the Mindset Exchange podcast,
and we are happy to be withyou today. Pastor Gail, that's good
to be with you. And we'retalking about the healing of dissociated disorder.
We're in part number three and thisand really three parts just doesn't give it

(00:31):
justice because this is such a deepsubject. But today we're going to talk
about vows and false belief systems andtheir purpose, and then maybe the role
of medication that will happen when you'repsychiatrists or whoever you're going to is trying
to help you with your depression, anxiety and the fears that you're dealing with,

(00:52):
because those are real too. Andwe could even get into how some
of you may really deal with suicidalideation or suicidal thoughts. It's a whole
another big subject to cover in abouttwenty four minutes. So Michelle, I'm
gonna let you launch out. Wheredo you want to start with this vowels
or false belief systems or medications?Yeah, well, I want to start

(01:17):
with laying the foundation of how powerfulour words truly are. So making a
vow is creating a belief system andthen putting words to that belief system.
So I think about how in thebeginning of Scripture that God used a word

(01:38):
to create, He created the world'sright, and he created us in his
image. And so when our mindscome into agreement with the belief system and
we verbalize those belief systems out intothe atmosphere, we know through the study

(02:00):
of quantum physics that those words remain, that energy remains out there because God
created us to create and to procreatewith him. And so our words are
vows that we make. The beliefsthat we settle in our hearts, and
the words that we speak out beginto create our world, our life,

(02:23):
our expectations. And when we developa thinking pattern of expectation, then it
becomes our default belief about ourself, about someone else, about systems around us.
And so foundationally, as we walkthe journey of healing, we have

(02:44):
to look at our thinking patterns andour language and the world that we are
creating around us. So now wecan move into vows and how they work
for us and against us, andhow they develop our belief systems. You
remind me of the scripture that saysthe power of life and death is in

(03:07):
the time, and you can eatthe fruit thereof. And so how I
look at it at spiritual care becausewhen people come in, they will have
belief systems based on how they feel. And most of the time those belief
systems are built around traumas or hurtingevents that they've experienced. And so the

(03:29):
belief systems have a purpose and they'rethere for a reason, and most always
they're based on how the person feels. And the problem with that is your
feelings aren't always right. They mightbe half right, and that means what
you're believing is a whole lie.And so really the purpose of the belief

(03:50):
system is to protect a person frommore pain and hurt and to help them
cope with life. But every timea belief system fail, they have to
form another one, and it beginsto look like a bull's eye. The
dot in the middle is the hurtingevent, so it'll look like a bull's

(04:10):
eye with the rings around it becausethe hurting events will cause there to be
a lot of belief systems that willform to protect themselves. But it's a
never ending job. The solution isnot the form more belief systems. The

(04:32):
solution is to change the belief systemsin the truth, renew your mind to
get healing for the hurt that you'reexperiencing. That's so good, pastor Gale,
because it's true. We create abelief system based off of the only
lens that we have, and thenwe start making a new life theology based

(04:55):
off of the lens that we have. And so that last statement it just
made is power ful. The goalis not to reinforce our belief system,
but then to take a look athow do I need to think about this
situation differently than I ever have? And the beauty then is it requires us
to seek out people in our livesthat aren't just yes people, but that

(05:17):
will speak into us a different perspective. And that includes scripture. Well that's
where Romans twelve one and two comesand it says that we are to be
conformed not to the pattern of thisworld, but our minds are to be
renewed and transformed so we can knowwhat God's will is as good, perfect

(05:39):
and pleasing will. If you lookup Romans twelve one and two, that's
what those scriptures are all about. And so then what happens. If we're
running off all these belief systems thatare based on how we feel, you
might get yourself into a situation andyou say to yourself, man, I've
been here before, how did Iget again? So the trauma, so

(06:03):
the hurt, So the pain hasto be dealt with, and the belief
systems have to be changed. Iremember one lady came in to see me,
and I'm not going to say whatshe did for a living, but
she was very embarrassed, and shesaid, I listened to your podcast,
Breaking the Enemies Lies, and shecame into session. She had a notebook

(06:24):
where she wrote down forty lies shebelieved about herself, but she really wrote
all of them in the truth exceptfor six. So I had to work
with her on And you see,out of the false belief systems come a
false identity, and out of afalse identity comes behavior that lines up with

(06:46):
the identity. So the only wayto change behavior is to change identity,
rewrite the hurts. So vows I'llnever let anyone hurt me again, or
I'll never go to church again. They're all a bunch of hemocrats. And
those vows began to take a persondown a path they really didn't want to

(07:09):
go, but they don't realize howit's happening. That's right, because our
thoughts are different than our physical brain. Our thoughts actually shape and form our
physical brain, right. I don'tthink a lot of people know and understand
that. And I'm sitting here listeningto you and thinking, we're talking about

(07:32):
disassociative disorder, right, And Idon't like calling it disorder, but I
don't like calling it disability either, but it is a disorder because some things
are out of order right now.But anyway, we're talking about dissociative disorder
and how it's a process and ajourney of healing, and then we're kind

(07:55):
of breaking down all of the partsof that healing journey, right. One
part today is truly about those vowsand our thinking patterns. So understanding and
knowing that your thought life and packsthe physiological makeup of your brain. And
once you have a thought, youdevelop a pathway of thinking that literally physically

(08:20):
molds a shape in your brain, and then your brain begins to so easily
take that thought process over and over. But if you understand that there are
two different things, you understand thatyou can control your thinking life, which
then restructures your brain and then ofcourse changes your behavior pattern. So I

(08:43):
wanted to again put in context thepowerful conversation that we're having right here.
So when there's disorder, God canbring orders. So what I'm talking about
is in Genesis, the Bible saysthe spirit of God hover over the waters,
and God brought order to creation, and we are God's creation. Jesus

(09:07):
created us, and he can bringorder back to the disorder. Csc enemies
job John ten ten the enemy cometo steal, kill and destroy. Jesus
said, I've come that you mighthave life Zoe spirits everybody and have it
more abundantly. So it takes time. So you've got to really sit down

(09:31):
and say what aren't my belief systemsand what are my false identity? Now
you can kind of tell when youthink about the things that you feel that
that's not completely true. So thenyou say to the Lord, what is
truth? In this way, youmight need a good Christian spirit filled counselor

(09:54):
to help you with this because thisis gonna take time, but it'll be
freeing for you. And vows thatyou've made have to be broken. Lord,
I break my vow, and Iask you to forgive me for making
that vow. So I'm going todifferentiate in Satanic ritual abuse their number one

(10:15):
vows. I tell you, Imake a vow to forget my vows,
and so they don't want to remembertheir vows. Because if you break the
vows, whether it's from ritual abuseor just through going through trauma, then
now the Lord can put you ona better path. Now, did I
say it would be easy. No, I never said that. But the

(10:39):
Lord can put you on a betterpath once you've taken the time to break
the vows. And by the way, when you rewrite this stuff in the
truth, it's gonna take a hotmoment for you to accept it because at
first you're going to say, Idon't know why I'm repeating this stuff.
I don't believe it yet. Well, that's our we have to pray that

(11:00):
revelation would come. That's right. So it's the belief that you can see
the future and believe in the futureand speak over your life what is to
come. But first you have tounderstand what vows you need to break so
that you can then speak into thefuture. Well, and here's the thing

(11:22):
that I just want to share withyou, is that our words chart,
our words chart a course for ourfuture. So if you say I'm dumb,
I'm dumb, I'm dumb, andI'm stupid, that's exactly how you
will act because you'll be a selffulfilling prophecy. Right if you don't believe
that and say no, no,no, no, I'm not dumb.

(11:43):
I've been I have the mind ofChrist. Now I don't feel like it
right now, but I'm going tospeak this over my mind. I have
the mind of Christ. Well, you didn't believe the lie right away.
It took you a few times tohear it. It came over time for
you to believe it. Well,in the same way, when you start
speaking the truth and rewriting the liesand the truth, you're going to be

(12:07):
like, wow, this feels reallyforeign because now you can speak into this.
It takes time for you to rewriteyour neural plasticity. Talk about what
I just said there, Michelle. From a psychological point of view, well,
I think it is exactly as we'vebeen talking about this whole time.

(12:28):
Our brains have the ability to formand reform. We didn't understand this,
you know twenty thirty forty years ago. But we know now that neural plasticity
is real. So just like ifyou pictured a track, a fresh track

(12:50):
being created in fresh snow, youknow, you take a snowmobile, you
take some fresh snow, and youbuild a track, and then that becomes
your default track or your fault thinkingpattern. But if you stop using that
thinking pattern and you start to builda new trail in the snow, and

(13:13):
then more snowfalls, guess what happens. The old trail gets covered over and
the new trail becomes the new defaultpattern of thinking. Very simplified answer to
your question, pastor Gale, butit really shows us we can rebuild new
pathways of thinking and behavior the morethat we follow after that pattern of thinking

(13:35):
and behavior, and the old patternsdie once we're no longer using them.
They die off. And so asyou speak life over yourself every day,
over and over, as you believeinto your future and what it is that
God believes about you, you willbegin to change your thinking pattern, what

(14:01):
you believe about yourself, whether youdefault to negative thinking or positive thinking,
you can begin to reform the waythat you function. Actually, doctor Carolyn
Leaf does a lot of really goodwork around these concepts, and she actually
has a program now, a neuralrestructuring program that you can follow, and

(14:22):
she'll walk you into renewing your minddaily until this becomes the new mindset that
you carry. And when we carrya new mindset, pastor Gale, it
changes the chemical vibration makeup of ourbodies because we're cellular energy, and so
our bodies carry cellular energy, andwhat we speak impacts that cellular vibration,

(14:46):
whether positive or negative. And thenwe start moving into whole body healing.
Our physical body follows our belief systemsand patterns life and death in the time.
Yeah, and it just takes time. In Bible College, we had
a psychologist and he would always sayit takes a while to wear a new

(15:09):
groove into the brain. And soyou've got to remember, if you feel
discouraged because you're trying this and it'snot working, it just doesn't seem like
it's working. Remember it takes time, so you really have to put work
into Why. I was working witha gentleman that had PTSD real bad because

(15:31):
of being in the military, andhe listened to my new pathway CD we
used to be now now it isn'ta CD now it's on podcast. And
he came in the next session andhe had it all wrote out, word
for word, and I go whathe said, Yes, I listened to
this eighty minutes long and he wroteout every word. I said, why
did you do that? He said, Well, in the military when they

(15:54):
gave us Emmanuel said, read this. It might If you don't, it
might cost you your life. Hesaid, I took it serious. Well,
by listening over and over, byrewriting that new Cathway teaching, it
had a huge effect on his mind, which affected his body, which affected
his behavior. It's like a chainreaction in some ways. But you really

(16:19):
got to give yourself grace, andyou got to give yourself some time.
Well, you make a good point. We're in a fast food society.
We want everything now, and sowhen it doesn't happen tomorrow, then we
get discouraged and say, Pastor Gail, what you're talking about is a bunch

(16:40):
of ages. I don't think so. But the truth is, we do
know that these concepts are real andthey are life changing, and the scripture
tells us the truth, and thetruth is exactly what we're speaking into today.
You know, I mean, honestly, I have to practice it in

(17:02):
my own life. There are dayswhen I know and believe in the things
that the Lord has spoken over mylife, and then there are many days
when I am discouraged, and Iwonder if I'm goofy, And then I
am reminded by the voice of theLord and by the people that surround me.

(17:22):
And so I am so thankful thatI've trusted the Lord to begin to
bring people into my life that speaklife into me when I can't speak it
into myself. God will gift youwith support system to lift you on the
days when you don't know how tospeak life into yourself, or how to

(17:47):
speak about your identity in a waythat continues to renew your mind. The
Bible says that any man be inChrist, he is a new creation.
The old is gone and the newestcome. Now. Actually that reads in
the Greek language, if any manbe in Christ, he is a new
creation. The old is passing awayand the newest coming. And then we'll

(18:11):
read and I think it's Philippians onesix that says he who has begun a
good work in you will bring onthe completion to the day of Christ.
Jesus. And then it says inRomans eight around verse twenty eight through thirty
nine that for those that God farnew, he did predestined to be conformed

(18:33):
into the image of his son.So when you hear those scriptures, you
hear that God takes us through aprocess, and so transformation and becoming the
person God wants you to be isa process. And then I hear the
scripture and Joel, which says Iwill pay you back for all the years
the locusts have eaten, and there'sa promise in the Word that God will

(18:57):
give you back everything you've lost. And eventually, once your heal, your
misery can become your ministry all overagain. And so we've got to understand
as we dig into the vows, the thoughts, belief systems, there is
going to It's gonna be work. But and then in the midst of all
this, you're going to go toyour psychiatrist. Then he's going to give

(19:18):
you or your doctor he's going togive you some medication to help you with
your anxiety, stress, and depression. Am I right, Michelle? I
mean you are absolutely right, Andyet you have a choice about whether you
want to take medication or not.I actually was listening to something the other

(19:38):
day that's coming out about how howyou know. I've always been an advocate
of medication, especially because sometimes youjust need that jump start, but then
also being wise in your choices, because there's some work coming out about how
medication can really affect the brain chemicalsand that using some of these practices and

(20:03):
exercises that we're referencing actually can becomemore powerful in the healing process as you
receive healing. And this is whatspiritual cares think about. As you receive
healing help in wholeness, you cango back to your doctor and you and
your doctor can work together to copback on some of the medications that he

(20:26):
originally put you on so as youreceive more healing. And I want to
say this as a disclaimer, pleasedo not get off your medication. Please
do not quit cold turkey. Ifyou're on medication, then stay on it
and consult with your doctor or yourpsychiatrists what they want you to do with

(20:47):
your medication. Because I knew aguy that was on fifteen psychotropics and he's
on none today because as he gotbetter, his doctor reduced the medication and
he got better and he got off. Now he's only on one med right
now and it's for pain because hehurt his back. And so it is
possible, but you really have towork with the doctor, the counselor and

(21:12):
the spiritual aspect. And I wantto be careful of that. I mean,
Jesus people filled with the Holy Spirit. And this is awesome where the
gifts of the Holy Spirit come inbecause sometimes I'll be operating in word of
wisdom, word of knowledge. Thereare gifts in First Corinthians twelve, thirteen
and fourteen that God gives his bodyand equips them with to bring healing and

(21:36):
equipping into people's lives. That Ithink is so important. Understanding the gifts
are there to equip the body andthe gifts, whether it's the wisdom of
practicing, the science of medication,or the science of healing, or the
prophetic supernatural gifts. Using them togetherin collaboration is exactly what we're talking about

(22:07):
today. It brings those beautiful outcomes. And you know, as we were
talking about the journey Pastor Gale,I just want to back up for a
minute and say, do we believethat God can supernaturally heal in the moment,
absolutely, and we do see thatsometimes, but oftentimes we see this
process that we've talked about in allof these podcast episodes here, and it's

(22:33):
the process of learning the relationship withGod. He wants to build a relationship
with us in the healing process. He wants us to learn and know and
understand His nature so that we canturn around and impart that to others.
And so as we're talking about thisjourney, let's not lose sight of the
fact that God wants a relationship withus. Well, this is just a

(22:57):
tip of the ice. For again, we just prayed God's best for you,
