Matthew 19 primarily covers the teachings of Jesus regarding marriage and divorce. In this chapter, some Pharisees question Jesus about the lawfulness of divorce, and He responds by stating that divorcing one's spouse and marrying another person constitutes adultery unless the divorce was due to the spouse's sexual immorality. Jesus also blesses the children who are brought to Him and helps a rich young man understand how to attain eternal life.
