Speaker 1 (00:00):
II. I am a beautiful, loving souls. I hope I
find you well and if not, as I always say,
do not despair. It is just a season and they'll
be bettered. Is coming. For those of you who do
not know me, my name is Rita aka baby Face,
and I want to welcome you to Hero's Eden podcast
and Eating Purity Channel, depending on where you're listening to,
a safe space where we explore faith, purity, relationships grounded
(00:24):
in God's Word, and which mission is also to serve
and respond to the needs of Christian abstinence and celibate
and where we also speak about relationship topics who aim
to help you navigate the challenges and misunderstanding of your journey. Today,
we're diving into why abstinence is not just a rule,
but a pathway to joy, holiness, and freedom rooted deeply
(00:49):
in Scripture. If you find this encouraging, make sure to
subscribe and share so others can be blessed to Let's
dive right into it. Welcome to Here is Eden, the
(01:15):
space where there is peace, innocence, growth and joy. You
may now leave your fear, your judgment and murmur at
the game. How about we start by exploring the foundations
of abstinence. You've probably heard the scripture in First Quarantine
(01:38):
six verses eighteen to nineteen that says, flee from sexual immorality.
All other sins a person commits are outside of the body.
But whoever sins sexually sins against their own body? Do
you not know that your bodies are temples of the
Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received
from God. You are not your own. The Bible calls
(02:02):
us clearly to live life set apart, and one key
way we do this is abstaining from sexual immorality. Too
often we hear Bible versus repeatedly to the point where
they've done sounding like one of a favorite song lyric.
In the long run, we end up repeating them so
often that the deep meaning of the words, as well
as the original intention of the message by the author,
(02:25):
end up being nothing more than a superficial ballad that
is pleasant to the ear, dear friend, when the word says,
whoever sins sexually sins against their own body, and follows
by your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and
that you are not your own, do you understand what
(02:46):
it means? Because we are so intimately united to Christ
and are the fund as member of the Body of Christ,
which in unity makes the Church. Will you introduce the
filment into the Holy Body of Christ. For it is
said that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.
If you say, but my body is not holy, this
(03:09):
message is even more so very important for you to listen,
for we live in the world filled with lies and
temptations from the enemy, especially toward faithful servant of God,
not perfect, but fail with the desire to do the
will of God. This is more than just avoiding an act.
It's about protecting the temple of the Holy Spirit, which
(03:32):
is your body. Christ himself called his body a temple,
and us, having been set free by him, we can
also regard our bodies in the same way as he
regarded his own. Naturally, in himself he was the holy being,
which we are completely not. But by his work on
the Cross, he has completely purified us, me and you,
(03:56):
that the Holy Spirit can come and dwell in our bodies. So, yes,
your body is God's temple. Therefore you do not have
to live your life as many others who've made their
bodies satan sanctuary. You friend, have been bought at a
higher price with the blood of Christ. Amen. So if
(04:18):
you're wondering how should I live now, how do I
fit in? Sexuality, according to God's design, is a beautiful
gift within the covenant of marriage. This is how ask
(04:38):
Christians who fear God and follow Christ's word fit in,
As ascribed in Ephesians five twenty one to twenty three,
submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives,
submit yourself to your own husband as you do to
the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife,
(04:59):
as Christ is the head of the Church, his body,
of which he is the Savior. And I want to
also add verses twenty five to twenty seven of the
same chapter, Husbands, love your wife's just as Christ loved
the Church and gave himself up for her, to make
her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through
(05:20):
the world, and to present her to himself as a
radiant church, without a stain or wrinkle or any other blemish,
but holy and blameless. These are instructions for Christian households.
If you are wondering about your current state, thinking but
unstained and wrinkled as well as unblemished, I'm not pure
(05:41):
for you relate to your sinful past, you'd want to
subscribe and turn on your notification bell for in the
future episodes we will talk about Christian sexual purity, purity culture,
and all that in a MINISERI to come, So stay
tuned with that being said, navigating in this time where
(06:03):
the devil prows against Christian households, dividing marriages, hence creating
a society where children are raised mostly alone by the
culture trends of this world, who are not always for unity,
but more so for division. It is understandable to feel
that the Bible's recommendations for abstinence seems lack restriction. Abstinence
(06:26):
is not a restriction, but a protective, loving boundary designed
by a loving creator who knows and desire our best.
Unlike society, which subtly or sometimes not even puts pressure
on young people to lose their virginity, sometimes against their
will or with that respect or consideration of their individuality
(06:49):
or their personal rhythm. God, in the other hand, establishes
a safe environment covenant where each person, while in the maturity,
can expect here is the choice of an intimate relationship.
Why not address some of the common cultural misconceptions of abstinence.
Some see abstinence as shameful or restrictive. Others believe that
(07:13):
abstinence is a universal spiritual barometer of purity and goodness,
that abstaining from intercourse is the only way to avoid
unexpected consequences such as pregnancy or STIs, or that abstinence
is always a choice made freely by everyone. Are you sure?
How about abstinence isn't about shame or fear, but about joy, freedom,
(07:38):
and preparation for a god honoring relationship. For our God
is holy, therefore we must honor him by reflecting purity
and respect for the body. Christ raised the bar higher,
reminding us in Matthew five twenty seven to twenty eight
that purity start regarding our hearts, not just our actions.
(08:00):
Individual's worth is not limited to their sexual history. With
that being said, let's move on to the next segment
of this discussion and share real life practical benefits of
choosing abstinence first and first, choosing abstinence brings emotional clarity
(08:23):
and freedom from the guilt that comes with crossing God's boundaries.
It lays a foundation for relationships built on trust and
mutual respect instead of physical temptation. In order to become
the best in anything we do, we must have outstanding
discipline in order to stand out from the crowd. How
(08:43):
do you think your favorite athletes or artists are at
the top and no one can compete against them? Discipline
and sacrifices right question? Why is their discipline accepted and
understood but not that of abstinence? True? Is it wrong
to have a partner in whom we trust to have
(09:05):
self control and sexual discipline, for they have set themselves
apart to the word of God and subscribe to you.
Let me know. Second, many who commit to abstinence find
the personal and spiritual growth accelerated as they focus more
on their relationship with God and their future spouse. I
believe that we could agree with the fact that this
(09:27):
world we live in is full of many distractions. Don't
get me started. First, technology and digital media. Here we
have notifications from our phone to computers and emails, social
media feeds, streaming services, news, online games, access to too
much information. We're getting bug down, our opinions, podcasts, videos,
(09:51):
you name it. Then you have social interaction chatty co
workers or friends. Oh my god, pressure to p war more,
mit expectation from family and friends, et cetera. Then when
you think distraction only come from outside, wrong internal distractions
(10:12):
walk in here. We have our worries, personal problems, mental chatter, stress,
the weight of past events, daydreams, basic physical discomforts, boredom,
than everything we wish for, et cetera. By focusing on
your relationship with God, it brings a sense of purpose,
peace and spiritual fulfillment. By cultivating a deep personal connection
(10:35):
inspired by love, devotion, and intimacy, just a solid foundation.
Quick story and testimony about how accidence positively impacted my life.
A couple of years ago, met a much older guy
than me. Back then, I wasn't as knowledgible about anything
as I am today. This guy boasted often to be
(10:55):
a pastor and would use that information to make me
trust him, because, let's be honest, who wouldn't trust a pastor? Right?
Aren't they supposed to be shepherds caring for innocent and
lost sheep. Well, this shepherd will prove to be a
wolf in sheep's clothing all the time. It played my
games and try to persuade me to believe that the
(11:17):
demonstration of love would be shown by me giving myself
to him, and bear in mind there was no sign
or conversations of engagement or anything like that. All my
love was to do was to trust him. Long story
short months later found out he was married a child.
What has this story taught me The importance of having
(11:40):
a true relationship with God and what discipline and respect
for your body and yourself can save you from there?
My friend? Before I leave you today, I want to
end with an encouragement prayer for your journey. The road
of abstinence isn't always easy. Temptation and struggles are real,
but know that you are not alone. Remember God's grace
(12:04):
is sufficient and his power is made perfect in our weakness.
Stay connected with God daily through prayer, scripture, and community.
Find accountability partners who encourage you to keep your commitment,
and above all, keep in mind that purity is a journey,
(12:24):
not perfection. God meets you where you are today and
walks with you toward your best self in Christ. I prayed, Amen,
I want to thank you for joining me today to
explore why choosing abstinence is a biblical, joyful path worth embracing.
