Speaker 1 (00:00):
I'm a survivor. I'm a soldier, I'm a warveror when
you look into my house, you understand what I'm saying.
Let me say to you slowly, aye in it may
sound scanless. I don't think that you.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Can handle this. All right, let's move over to my
favorite segment of HGF, which is Survivor before I get
into this weekend slate really quickly. Last week, almost all
the chalk one, which means that almost all of Survivor
entries made it through. Biggest play, of course, Houston. They
were fifty five percent owned in the league that I'm
(00:33):
playing in. They beat the Las Vegas Raiders in a
very close game twenty three to twenty one. Also among
the highly owned was Philadelphia, Buffalo, and New Orleans. The
Saints handled business. Biggest team that lost you some money, actually,
what's Detroit? And they did it again this week too.
(00:54):
All right, now, let's pick up with Week seventeen. This weekend,
the biggest spreads of the week US of course you've
already played during Christmas and use one of those big favorites.
Hopefully you stayed off of Detroit. We have the New
England Patriots. They're heading to New York to face the Jets.
They're thirteen and a half point favorites. On Monday Night Football,
(01:15):
we'll be discussing that game later. We have the Rams
heading to the Falcons to play Atlanta their eight point favorites.
Our seven point favorites. The Seattle Seahawks head to the
Carolina Panthers, also seven point favorites. The Cincinnati Bengals at
home facing the Arizona Cardinals six point favorites. The Jacksonville
(01:38):
Jaguars are heading to Indianapolis to face the Colts and
six point favorites. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are heading to
Miami to face the Dolphins. If you notice one thing
that I mentioned, they're out of these big spreads, only
the Bengals are the home team. One other word of
caution for the Patriots, they will be they have multiple injuries.
(01:59):
They will be missing two of their better receivers, Trayvon Henderson,
their star running back is questionable. Of course, they have
a pretty good replacement with Remandre Stephenson have running back,
so they should be good there. I think they're still
an easy pick, but just be cautious about that. I
don't really like facing the Falcons right now, they're playing
pretty well. Of course, the Rams should be able to
(02:21):
beat them. Quite frankly, all of these games are games
I would consider, except for the Seattle one. I don't
think I'm taking the Seahawks there.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
I'm tired. Oh, I almost forgot my Survivor pick for
the rest of the slates, and which one is the
biggest spread? John, I actually looks like it's the Rams
over the Falcons. So guess what. Guess what I'm gonna do.
I'm gonna double down. That's going to be my regular
(02:51):
Survivor pick the Rams over the Falcons, or tell you
the truth. Of course I neglected to see that the
Patriots on the slate facing my New York Jets. They
are favored by thirteen and a half points over under
forty three. But Survivor purpose purposes, we just need to
(03:12):
win a loser. And you really think the Jets are
going to beat the Patriots when the Patriots are playing
for a number one seed, No they're not. So Yeah,
Patriots going to beat the Jets. So actually that is
my Survivor pick of the week.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
There are a couple other games to look at. The
New Orleans Saints have won three straight and they're two
and a half point favorites on the road heading to Tennessee.
The Saints look pretty good. They look like a very
confident team right now. But let's not forget the Titans
have won two or three of their own. I don't
think this game is a give me another game of losers.
(03:53):
The biggest losers, the New York Giants, are heading to
Las Vegas to face the Raiders. The Giants are one
and a half point favorites. Both of these teams have
lost nine straight games. If you think you have an
advantage here on who to pick, this might be a
good way to pivot away from most of your contemporaries,
(04:13):
who like me, will be looking for big favorites to
hopefully get them to the finish line. But this game
is very interesting in that I'm sure the players will
play hard, but the organizations probably are hoping their team
loses so they could get that number one selection. All right,
forgive me for not standing hard on who I'm picking
(04:34):
right now for a couple of reasons. One, I am
still in a couple of survivors lands, and I'm not
trying to give anybody who's competing with me an advantage
of letting them know who I pick. And number two,
I'm really not sure. I gotta say that Bengals game
is looking interesting, but the Bengals face Cleveland a week eighteen,
I might want to pick them there. Not sure who
(04:58):
you got.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
In prognosticate for not one, not two, not three, not four,
not five. That's six not for seven games? Seven games,
two forty three in the morning. Gotta work tomorrow and
the next day and then travel all the way back
down to Pennsylvania to see my lovely missus, Oh, my
brother Martin, and my sister Steph, so I can spend
(05:24):
a holiday with them
