Welcome to Hidden Gem's Golf, wherewe take a little bit deeper to find
secret treasure for your betting and DFSpleasure. Yeah baby, Hello all,

(00:22):
Hi once again and the mojor Prince. And this is episode number sixty three
of Hidden Gems Golf, brought toyou by the Mighty ninety Media Group.
This week, my dad will bediscussing the ATNT Byron Nelson Championship being played
in Texas. All yours, Daddio, thank you for the introduction, son
daddy O, he says this guy. All right, let's get this show

(00:44):
on the road. Last week waswell a week week. I completely missed
up Top with Roy McElroy and JasonDay also disappointed. Day actually missed the
cut. What was somewhat ironic aboutthose poor results was that I completely forgot
to answer my one and dune picksanyway, shaking my head. The Hidden
Gems were better, but only comparedto the total trash that I had up

(01:08):
Top. Grant was horrendous in thesecond round and missed the cut by a
mile. Aaron Ry was I believedthe last golfer on the course and right
up until the eighteenth hole was insidethe cut. A bogie for him.
He went home for the weekend, and so did some of my bankroll.
Hayden Buckley was better, but notby much, ending in forty third place.

(01:33):
I one shining star was Alex Smalley, who came in tied for eighteenth.
As you can imagine, this alladded up to trash as far as
fantasy. Oddly, I did turna profit on the betting side, though.
I added a couple of late playsto my betting card and they paid
off. If you want to seemy results from this week or any other
upcoming week, I suggest checking meout on the Sharp's App. It's a

the AT and T Buyer Nelson beingplayed at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney,

(03:06):
Texas. McKinney is right outside ofthe Dallas Fort Worth area. The course
were designed by Tom Weiscoff in twothousand and four and has been the home
course for this event the last twoseasons. The course is a par seventy
one seven thousand, four hundred andfourteen yards. If my notes are right,
and I'm pretty good with my notes, then this course was previously played

(03:27):
as a par seventy two. Iassume it's an attempt to get the winning
scores to sound a bit more PGAlike. We'll get back to those scores
in a minute. The brass hereis interesting. There is a variety.
The greens are bank grass, Thefairways Zeutscha and the rough Bermuda. The
greens are about at average speed,The fairways are very wide, and although

(03:49):
the course is said to have waterin play in thirteen holes, top level
golfers like we have here don't seemto have much to worry about as far
as the water. Honestly, overthe two years here this course hasn't proven
to be much of a problem forthe pros. Check out these scores.
In twenty twenty one, kh Leewon this event at twenty five under.

(04:09):
Sam Burns came in second at twentytwo under. Side note about Burns,
he was seventeen under at the cutthat is crazy. They were followed by
a foursome Shortel Kazaire, Stallings andBurger all at twenty one under. Last
year it was again kh Lee winning, this time at twenty six under.
Jordan's Speak was second at twenty fiveunder. They were followed by Munos and

(04:31):
Matsuyama at twenty four while JT.N. Ryan Palmer came in at twenty
three under. Justin Thomas that isthe cut line at these events were five
under and six under that Even thoughthose two events had contrasting weather, it
was wet in twenty twenty one,it was dry. In twenty twenty two,

(04:53):
it didn't affect the scores much atall. You always have to worry
about the wind. But overall, expect a ton of school are in here.
These pros are going to whoop thiscourses. This is the ninety media
Girl presentation. Before we even lookat the top of the board, we
better double check to see if theplayers we like are still teeing it up

(05:14):
this week. Jordan Spieth was oneof twelve players who have withdrawn already this
week. I suspect that maybe anotherone or two before Bahirn Nelson finally gets
started Thursday morning, keep your eyesopen amongst those remaining and playings. As
far as we know, Scottie Scheffleris easily the class of the field,
except he hasn't looked dominant here inhis two events here fifteenth and forty seven.

(05:39):
I don't think I'll be using himhere at one and done, especially
with the lower purse event. Thenext obvious selection is the guy who seems
to own TPC Craig ranch, andthat is kh Lee. I probably won't
use him, but that's more aboutme trying to pivot away from where everybody
else is going than having any realreason out to pick him for me.

(06:00):
At the moment, I seem tobe stuck between Tom Kim and Terrell Hatton.
I likely will go with one ofthem, but Tyler Montgomery, Christian
Bazadianhood and Davis Riley will also getlong looks for me, although maybe more
as a fantasy role than in oneand done selection and now your featured presentation.

(06:23):
All right, before I get tothe picks, I believe another two
players have already withdrawn from the ByronNelson. That alternate list is working overtime,
all right. One more odd thingabout this week is the order of
confidence I have in my Hidden Gemselections. I'm going from worst to best,

(06:43):
at least according to the official WorldGolf Rankings. So my first pick
is the four hundred and eighty fourthrank player in the world, Kevin Chapel.
Chapel has been mostly bad these lastcouple of years, and I mean
by a solid majority bad. Thatis how you fall to almost five hundred
in the rankings. However, hislast five starts have produced these results nineteenth,

(07:06):
fifteenth, sixteenth, thirty ninth andtwenty fourth that have been mostly weaker
fields, but this one will fallright in line, especially with the Hall
the withdrawals. Kevin Chappell is doingthe same thing that Michael Kim is doing,
which is all of a sudden justbecoming steady, solid and consistent.
Next up. While most people willfocus on the return of Aaron Wise and

(07:30):
rightfully so, I will be lookingat a much more hidden return, and
that is the three hundred and ninetysecond ranked player in the world, twenty
eight year old Vince Whalley. Whalleyhas been out since the Shriners back in
October. I would love to knowwhy he was out, but golf just
doesn't give that type of information. And I will say this, his last

(07:51):
five starts prior to the injury wasn'tstellar at all, four miss cuts and
a sixty first, but I feellike that was probably the injury already affecting
him. The one thing I doknow about the injury was that he said
in February that he expected to comeback in early to mid May, so

(08:11):
he's right on time, right wherehe expected to be healthy. His stats
also show that he tends to likebeing on ben grass. Bottom line is
I think he's healthy and I thinkhis potential exceeds where his betting odds are
right now. Now, lastly,my catch a falling knife pick. Although
the highest ranked of the three, the two hundred and thirty seventh ranked player

(08:33):
in the world, thirty four yearold Justin Lower, Lower's results have been
atrocious. For sixteen straight tournaments,he has been fortieth or worse. In
fact, of those starts, Lowerhas missed eleven cuts. So why am
I saying that he is a possibleselection. Well, if you look at

(08:54):
his stats, he is really goodat putting, and he is particularly good
at putting on and grass. Ithink in this field being a very thin
one, somebody with one very strongtrait can at least get by the cut.
So I'm not picking him to winby any means, but to make
the cut the top forty. Allright, to recap my hidden gems,

(09:20):
they're Kevin Chappell, Vince Whaley, and Justin Lower. I didn't mention earlier
in the podcast, but I reallythink Brandon Rule should do really well at
this tournament, and keep an eyeout for Pearson Cody. The kid is
a star in the making. Allright. That's it, That's all I
got. I appreciate all of youfor listening. Thank you so much.

(09:41):
So we meet again next week.Keep keep digging, okay, so keep

(10:09):
digging, keep digging, keep taking, keep digging. Let's keep taking like
a million times, keep digging inand then you'll find treasure in the snow.
M you know it's recording your audio. Not youre not you're dancing,
I know. Keep digging. Ohmy goodness, all right, this week

(10:46):
my dad will be This week,my that's so funny, still disgusting.
This week, my dad will bedisgusting. This week, my dad will
be disgusted. All right, deepbreath, because you gotta say no,
okay, disgusting. This week,my dad will be disgusting.
