Welcome to Hitting Jem's Golf, wherewe dig a little bit deeper to find
secret treasure for your betting and DFSpleasure. Yeah baby, Hello all,

(00:22):
I am the Mojo kidding and thisis episode number seventy of Hidden Gems Golf
Far Too by the Mighty nineteenth ImmediateGroup and sponsored by Sky Golf. It's
playoff time in the PGA Tour andwe were discussing the Saint ju Championship being
played in Tennessee. It was highdrama last week as the PJA field was
whittled down to the top seventy players. Billy Horshell, Adam Scott and Justin

(00:44):
Thomas all gave valent efforts but cameup just short. Although the calculations for
the FedEx points are confusing as hell, it made for some riveting action at
the window. Now, what wasnot quite riveting last week was our results
here at Hitting Jem's Golf. Itwas ugly, heavy rains in the first
day and consistent wetness at the coursemade the course play very differently than what

(01:07):
I expected, although the greens werestill fast. That is something to note
for next time. But as faras this time, pure trash camera.
Percy missed the cut by one car. Un made the cut but was actually
the worst player after the cut andfinished in seventy third place. But both
of them were better than Ben Griffin, who was looking to secure his playoff

(01:29):
berth with a decent Windom result, and instead he ended up three over after
the second round, easily missing thecut. Maybe it was to rain that
through the man's game off. Idon't know. Well, I noticed that
he snuck into the event this weekand he will certainly not be one of
my selections. This is the ninetyMedia Girl presentation, all right. This
week we're previewing the FedEx Saint JuChampionship being played at TPC south Wind in

(01:53):
Memphis, Tennessee. TPC south Windwas built by Ron Pritchard in nineteen eighty
eight. The course has been partof the PGA for a while now,
but its journey has been kind ofconfusing. This year, like last year,
tp south Wind is the host ofthe first round of the playoffs,
although last year the field was muchbigger. Prior to last year, the
course hosted a WGC event, whichof course means its field was short and

(02:17):
full of top golfers, although slightlydifferent from now. Before twenty nineteen,
south Wind hosted a regular PGA eventwhich typically featured a pretty weak field.
I say all that to say thiscourse history here is a wee bit complicated,
and I almost skipped the lead.Tournament history is irrelevant because prior to

(02:39):
two years ago, when you lookat tournament history, you'll be looking at
the Northern Trust. The last timethat was played was in twenty twenty one
and it was played in New York. Okay, Back to the course,
TPC south Wind is a par seventyseven two hundred and forty three yards long.
The greens and rough are bermudigrass, while the fairways are joysia. The

(03:00):
course is long for a par seventyand these fairways are thin. Complicating matters
even more is all the water that'sin blea. This course has more balls
hidden too the water in any othercourse. I find that amazing, especially
when you consider the strength of thefield here over the last couple of years.
Last year will Zaotourist won this eventat fifteen under the feeding Sepstraka in

(03:21):
a playoff. They were followed byBrian Harmon, Lucas Glover and a slew
of players who tied at fifth.Seriously, there were seven of them.
In twenty twenty one, the WGCevent was won by Abraham Answer here at
sixteen under the feeding Sam Burns andHideki Matsuyama in a playoff. Harris English
was next, followed by Burger,Casey and Cam Smith all tied for fifth.

(03:44):
In twenty twenty, it was JustinThomas who conquered the course at thirteen
under. I guess that's three straightyears of guys that have no chance of
repeating. Three strokes behind Thomas wasa four way tie for second. Included
in that group were Daniel Burger againBrooks, Phil Nicholson and Tom Lewis.
All right, so what can wetake from these results? I don't know.

(04:05):
Length this clearly have been helpful herewhen you listen to some of those
names. However, a win byAnswer and names in the leaderboard like Ryan
Harmon prove that it isn't a requirement. So what is needed here? Well,
a player who can handle tough courses, particularly par seventies and a little
length doesn't hurt. And oh mostimportantly, keep it out the water.

(04:27):
Yo, it's crazy out here.International heat waves Canadian wildfires causing new York's
mog orcers taking out yachts man.Even otters are out here jacking surfboards.
Listen. You can love fossil fuelsall you want, but you have to
admit something weird is going on here. So what are we to do?
I say we buy some shoes. No, for real, Blue View Footwear

(04:50):
has created the first fully biodegradable shoe. They're sleek, they're stylish, and
they're comfortable too. I'm tempted toput my foot through the microphone just to
show you mine, but maybe it'sbetter if you take a look for yourself.
Nineteen media groups link to Blue ViewFootwear is in the podcast description.
I highly suggest you check them out. Look good, feel good, show

(05:13):
them to the orcas, and maybesave a yard or two. Once again,
that's Blue View Footwear, the world'sfirst biodegradable shoe, and now your
featured presentation. All right, Ihave to admit having multiple podcasts is putting
me a bit in a time French. On the bright side, the newest
Hitting Gems Football is out right nowpreviewing the NFC West. Look back to

(05:35):
the topic at hand. Considering mytime Currench and the fact that it's hard
to find hitting gems in a fieldof seventy. I am going to give
you two names and they have aconnection, so I'll put them together in
one One name is the eighty sevenfrank player in the world, is twenty
six year old Davis Riley. Theother is the one hundred and thirty knife

(05:56):
ranked player in the world, twentyseven year old Nick Hard. Together,
of course, they were a teamthat won this year's Zero Classic. Now,
Riley has been pretty bad of late, and that is why he is
one hundred and eighty to one.But over the last two years he's soon
to be able to put his besttogether at tough courses and tough field events.

(06:17):
He has a good history at thetough Vals Bar, where he came
in eighteenth this season after falling toSam Burns in a playoff the year.
Prior this year, his only topten was Arnold Palmer Invitational. His previous
top ten prior to that was theCharles Swab in twenty twenty two, again
not an easy course. Side note, Sam Burns also won that event,

(06:41):
so you best believe I'm pairing thesetwo on draft kings. But as for
Riley, even during his struggles, his approach game has been very solid.
He has some length, but hecan be a precision golfer when he swings
it well and his partner occasionally pops. The main thing for me is that,
unlike some guy at the bottom ofthis odds board, I think Riley

(07:02):
has top ten potential, although immediatelyif I'm going to bet him, I'm
going to bet him at a toptwenty. As for Nick Hardy, I
believe the case for him is moreeasily stated, although not easy enough for
it to affect his odds, ashe is still two hundred to one.
The fact is Hardy has been consistentlygood as of late, but not great.
He has made five of his lastsix cuts, and all but one

(07:26):
of those have been a twenty seventhor better. It's interest in a note
that he played well both at theWindham Championship and the three M Open.
If you were to merge the difficultiesof each of those courses together, they
would describe a lot of TVC Southwind Now, I'm sure stad Head detractors
will point out that a lot ofhis recent success has been contributed to his

(07:46):
unusually hot putter. That's true, but why do we have to just assume
that that coin will flip this week, maybe he'll stay hot. Also,
what he's been doing an exceptional jobof is staying away from big, ugly
numbers and keeping his mistakes to aminimum. If he can do that for
four rounds here, I keep theball out of the water. He should

(08:07):
be floating around among the leaders. All Right, that's it for me.
I appreciate you all, but Igot to go keep digging, keep digging.

(08:41):
Okay, so keep digging, keepdigging, keep tagging, keep digging.
Let's keep taking like a million times, keep digging in and then you'll
find treasure in the snow. Youknow it's recording your audio. Now you're
not your dancing. I know, did did you did anything? Didny did?

(09:07):
Keep digging? Oh my goodness,
