Welcome to Hitting Gems Golf, wherewe dig a little bit deeper to find
secret treasure for your betting and DFSpleasure. Yeah Baby, Hello, Aul,

(00:22):
I am the Mojo King and thisis episode number eighty of Hidden Gems
Golf, brought to you by theMighty nineteen Media Group and sponsored by Sky
Golf. This week we are previewingthe Valspar Championship, the final event of
the Florida Swing before the tour headsoff to Texas. By the way,
for all my golfer listeners, ifyou want to improve your game, and

(00:44):
who doesn't, I highly suggest youcheck out Sky Golf and their top of
the line products. The link isin the description of this podcast. Help
your golf game and help support HiddenGems Golf. Now, last week there
was no show and I apologize toyou all for that. At the end
of the day, it came downto a decision either due to HGF episode

(01:07):
or celebrate my anniversary with my wife, and quite frankly, she is prettier
than all of you, No disrespectintended, of course, I'm sure you're
good looking people. Back to theplayers, it was a great event and
I have a couple of notes thatI think will be useful for future years.
This year's leaderboard had more predictability andless variance than previous years. I

(01:32):
tend to think a lot of thatis due to the weather. Calm winds
and sunny skies helped things balance outa little bit more than usual. That
calmness was very similar to what happenedin the twenty nineteen and the twenty twenty
one events. Meanwhile, twenty twentytwo and twenty twenty three had much worse
weather and was less predictable. Nextseason, I will target top players who

(01:56):
are playing consistently well, and Iwill also look at lesser known players who
like either peak die courses, toughcourses, or short courses. If plears
peak at events like the Travelers, the Farmers, RBC Heritage, Pebble Beach,
Charles Swab or the Sony, thenthey are interesting to me. This
is the ninety Media Group presentation. All right, This week we're previewing the

(02:21):
Valspar Championship being played at the InnisbrugResort, the Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor
on the west side of Florida, actually west of Tampa. I didn't even
know there was something west of Tampa. The course is a par seventy one
seven and forty yards, but unlikemost par seventy ones, Innsbru comes with
five par three's and three par fives. Much like the previous courses in the

(02:45):
Florida Swing, the Bermuda grass isdormant and the course is overseeded. Why
grass is what is on top ofthe fairways and the rough while Paula is
on the greens. The fairways arethin while the rough is thick and made
even thicker in recent yas. Meanwhile, the greens are tough to hit and
fast when you are on them.In addition, there is water that comes

(03:07):
into play ear in half of theholes on the course. Last keynote of
the course. Unlike the prior Floridacourses, Innisbrook has some hilly areas on
the course, so expect to seesome interesting lies when watching this tournament.
This is just the tough course withthe toughest points coming in the final three
holes, which is known as thesnake pit. So what are we looking

(03:29):
for this week? Clearly players thatcan navigate tough and possibly windy courses.
Now granted, that has been theguideline for the last few weeks, but
I think the one major variant thisweek is the course's length. Asher Taylor
Moore won the vals bar at tenunder. He was followed by Adam Shank,
Jordan Speith, Tommy Fleetwood, WyndhamClark and Sam Burns. In twenty

(03:53):
twenty two, Sam Burns won inthe playoffs at seventeen under over Davis Riley.
They will follow by Just Thomas,Matthew Nei Smith, Brian Harmon and
Matthew Fitzpatrick. In twenty twenty one, it was again Sam Burns who won
at the same seventeen under, followedby Keegan Bradley, Cameron Trangali, Victor

(04:16):
Holland and Abraham Answer. Considering thatthe vausport has traditionally had weak fields,
it is noticeable that so many topname players are listed in the top five
this year. There are a coupleof big names here again and I assume
that they will be in play.If you're playing DFS golf, I suggest

(04:39):
that you use top of the marketguys liberally. Now, all we need
to do is find some hidden gemsto sprinkle into those lineups. Hi,
this is sports talk show host GeraldBrown super excited to be a part of
the newest show all nineteen media groups, Heavy in the Pangs with Gorge Truley's

(04:59):
and the NBA champion, former NBAplayer, the original bad boy, mister
Rick Mahorn. Now this show willnot only just focus on the NBA,
but we got the Major League Baseballcover, we got the NFL cover better
yet, we got Sports talk coverlike none other. We're gonna give you
the realers of it all, andwe're gonna give you stuff that is engaging

(05:23):
and far provoking. Don't go anywherebecause it all goes down where Heavy and
the pain Pete. All Right,it looks like I may have chumped the
gun a little bit. I forgotcompcourses. I am looking for many of
the similar courses that I mentioned forthe players, in particular the Farmers,
Pebble Beach, Charles wabb and RBCHeritage, but I am also adding in

(05:46):
the John Deere, the API andthe Wells Fargo. Now up top,
I am going to look at thetwo favorites. Sam Burns loves this place.
Meanwhile, Xanderschoffle is playing extremely welland is well suited for this course.
The talk of him not being ableto win is utterly ridiculous in my

(06:11):
opinion. Now let's start digging andnow your featured presentation. First up is
the one hundred and third ranked playerin the world, thirty seven year old
Seamus Power. I think Power's tournamenthistory will keep him hidden, but I
like him on this course, inthis field, at this time. As
far as that course history, hehas gone zero for two with two miss

(06:35):
cuts in ink over the last fiveyears. However, he has skipped this
tournament since twenty twenty one, andI think since that year he has become
a more consistent player, especially hislast couple of years. He's only had
six miss cuts in the last twoseason and is seven for eight this year.
One of his biggest strengths is hisaround the green game, which should

(06:58):
be in the man and here atthe vows bar. He is also excelled
at longer, tougher courses. Signme up, all right, You know
I always want to go off thebeaten path, and well you may think
that I've not only gone off thebeaten path, but gone off my medication
with my final two picks. Theseare super long shot catch a falling knife

(07:19):
plays. My first catch fall knifeplay is the two hundred and eighteenth ranked
player in the world, thirty sixyear old Eric Barnes. So far,
Eric Barnes is four for four inlimited events this season. Now, granted,
his first three cuts made land himoutside the top forty, but his
last tournament resulted in a second placein Puerto Rico after losing a playoff.

(07:44):
But those four to four mad cutsare a vast improvement over twenty twenty three,
when Barnes missed ten out of fifteenPJA cuts. What is the change?
Well, I believe he is justhealthy, in particular his knee.
He had years there's long knee issuesthat he finally addressed in April of twenty
twenty three. His recent play showsthat he is back to full health.

(08:07):
Is he a serious contender? Eh? Probably not, but I think he
is undervalued in thefs A smart Topforty bet Finally, let's take a look
at the number six amateur in theworld, almost twenty two year old Nick
Gobbrosik. Nick Gbrosik had his firstPG event ever here at the Fousbar last

(08:31):
year, and he made the cut. A year later, he is number
three in the PGA Tour University ranking. Now he gets another shot at Innisbruck,
which is about fifteen minutes from wherehe was raised. This year in
college, he has come in eighthor better in seven straight amateur events.
He also has nine career collegiate wins, including a win at his last event,

(08:54):
the Gator's Invitational. So he's athome. He's super talented, he's
coming off a win. Sounds likea fun play this week. All right,
that's it, that's all I got. I gotta work fast to get
this out to you, who Ideeply appreciate. Thank you for listening.

(09:18):
And keep digging, keep digging, okay, so keep digging, keep digging,

(09:46):
keep taking, keep digging. Let'skeep digging like a million times.
Keep digging in and then you'll findtreasure in the snow. You know it's
recording your not you're not, you'redancing, I know. Keep digging.

(10:11):
Well, oh my goodness. Okay, three to one ye enough enough people?
Enough, Okay, Hello, Ican't I can't think I should. Yes,
