Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, everybody, Cold, Harrison here and welcome back to High
Value Mail. To day, we're diving into something real, something raw,
something that affects more of us than we like to admit.
Anxiety and depression ever feel like your mind's a roller coaster,
going from exhilarating highs to terrifying lows. You know that
(00:23):
feeling when the weight of the world just sits on
your shoulders, making it hard to even take a breath. Yeah,
been there, done that, got the T shirt. And I'm
not talking about those Monday blues we all experience. I'm
talking about the deep, soul crushing kind that can make
you question everything. Let me tell you, dealing with anxiety
(00:46):
and depression isn't a sign of weakness. It's a human
experience and it doesn't discriminate. We all have our battles,
and sometimes these are just tougher than others. But the
good news is you don't have to face them alone.
To day, I want to share my journey with anxiety
and depression because vulnerability is strength, right, and by opening
(01:10):
up about my experiences, maybe we can help each other
navigate those dark waters a little better. Here are five
key takeaways that have helped me through the storm. One.
Acknowledge it. First things First, you've gotta own it. Don't
try to sweep these feelings under the rug and pretend
they don't exist. The more you ignore them, the stronger
(01:33):
they become. Accepting that your struggling is the first step
towards healing. Imagine trying to fix a leaky faucet without
even knowing there was a leak. Not going to happen.
Same goes for our mental health. Two. Talk it out.
You know what they say, a problem shared is a
(01:53):
problem halved. Find someone you trust, a friend, family member, therapist,
anyone who will listen with an open heart and without judgment.
Sometimes just voicing your feelings out loud can make them
feel less overwhelming. Remember you're not weak for needing support,
You're strong for reaching out. Three. Move your body. I
(02:18):
know it might be the last thing you want to
do when you're feeling down, but exercise is a game changer.
It releases those feel good endorphins that can instantly lift
your mood. Think of it as a natural antidepressant. You
don't have to run a marathon. Even a short walk
can make a difference. Four. Fuel your body right. Food
(02:44):
is fuel and Just like a car needs the right
kind of gas to run smoothly, our bodies need nutritious
food to function. Optimally processed foods sugary drinks, they'll only
drag you down further. Focus on whole unprocessed foods, fruits, vegetables,
lean protein, and watch your energy levels soar five. Practice mindfulness.
(03:10):
This one takes a little practice, but trust me, it's
worth it. Mindfulness is all about being present in the
moment and accepting your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Try
taking a few minutes each day to just breathe deeply,
focus on your senses, and let go of any anxieties
swirling around in your head. Let me tell you a
(03:32):
quick story that illustrates this whole journey for me. Remember
last year when I was launching my new business. That
time felt like being on a roller coaster, but instead
of thrills, it was pure anxiety. Deadlines were looming, I
had imposter syndrome kicking in hard, and I swear sleep
was just a distant memory. One morning, I woke up
(03:54):
feeling completely drained physically and mentally. That's when I realized
I need to take a step back. I started practicing mindfulness,
going for walks in nature, talking to my supportive friends,
and focusing on fueling my body with healthy food. Slowly,
but surely, things started to shift. The anxiety didn't disappear overnight,
(04:18):
but it became manageable. Remember that feeling of clarity when
you finally solve a puzzle. That's what I was experiencing
a sense of control over the chaos. So remember, friends,
if you're struggling with anxiety or depression, you're not alone.
It takes courage to face these challenges head on, but
(04:39):
by acknowledging them, seeking support, taking care of your body
and mind, and practicing mindfulness, you can navigate through the
storm and emerge stronger on the other side. Take a
moment right now, close your eyes if you can, and
take three deep breaths Inhale the positivity, Exhale any negativity
(04:59):
holding you back. You got this now. I want to
hear from you. What's one thing you're going to do
today to prioritize your mental well being? Shared in the
comments below. Let's keep the conversation going and support each
other on this journey. And don't forget to subscribe to
