Speaker 1 (00:09):
Us set.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Hey everybody, welcome back to hit Point, the a JRPG
News show, anime news show at niche news show, a
show where Baku and I get to talk about anything
and everything that catches our interest and or I are.
We stream live kind of almost every single Sunday at
seven pm Central eight pm Eastern Time, except for today
because we've you know, we missed Sunday, so I don't
(01:36):
get to say that. This time, we'll be previewing a
few trailers, talking about some leaks and salacious headlines and
all kinds of fun stuff. Today will be also previewing
some trailers and responding to some super chats, talking about industry
news and all the fun stuff. Uh and uh yeah,
we'll be responding to any super chats we receive at
(01:56):
the end of the show. So, mister Bakusan, how are
you doing today? Day?
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Oh boy, A lot better now. I was sick most
of the week last week, and then Friday I had
my graduation, which then led to some unfortunate events, uh,
and then canceling this show on Sunday, and I wanted
to wait until now to really share, uh what happened?
(02:22):
I have no idea what happened led up to all
of this insanity. Uh So, as you all know, I
had graduated with my PhD in waife who study.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Oh my gosh, thank you so much for joining us
again today, doc cuson Jrpgan.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Yes, uh so I had the graduation on Friday. It's
actually a school celebration. It's one of those things where
like just your department, uh and then to actually call
you up, you walk up, you get your little uh
not really a diploma thing from the dean, and then
on Sunday it's supposed to be like the actual commencement
(03:04):
where like the entire school, all the undergrads of all
the Master's Order PhDs, they all come from every field.
It's this whole grand thing. So it's Friday, right Friday afternoon,
and we had just finished the celebration. My mother and
my sister and my nephews were there, and within ten
(03:26):
seconds of stepping outside, ten to fifteen seconds, so very quickly,
it kind of went from like a little bit of
light drizzle that you can kind of like barely feel
on like your skin, to like tropical storm raining sideways
in fifteen seconds. You've never seen a storm come this quickly.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Just a month soon. Huh. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
It was just like, oh, there's a little bit of drizzle,
no big deal, and this, and then like you know, imagine,
like imagine Lothiatin from Final Fantasy just come and just.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
A little image flip here, and then all of the.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Sudden and everybody who were there for you know, their
their loved ones who graduated, all the families all standing
outside and they all went from like, hey, honey, you
will be here to like, yeah it was somebody retrospect.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Is funny as heck, but somebody really didn't want to
take photos that day and then got their wish, so granted.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Yeah, I think that's what happens. So we didn't get
to we didn't get to take any photos. Well, we
did take some fun ones, like inside the building where
we ran away from the rain and were drenched. But
then we took some pictures anyways, because you know, well, yeah,
the only day we can do it, but they weren't
like the picture perfect graduation photos with the family that
(04:59):
was kind of hoping for, which is a little unfortunate.
So I was hoping that we can go on Sunday
for the commencement and do it again and then celebrate
with the family afterwards, but that didn't happen because my
sister got sick from getting poured on. So yeah, so
that unfortunately didn't happen. Yeah, so I'd set the day
(05:23):
to not do hit Point because we were going to
go to the commencement. I was originally not going to
go to the commencement on Sunday, but then I planned
to go, and then it didn't happen because my sister
got sick. But but something else interesting happened. Saturday. I
was helping a friend move from their temporary home to
(05:47):
like their new place that they had bought, like you
got constructed and everything, which is fantastic. Yeah, that afternoon,
another friend reached out to me. It's like, hey, you
know that that that friend from Japan that we know
who moved to Friends, Well, she wants to know if
you want to have dinner today. I'm like, what slow down?
Like you skipped like thirty steps, Like yeah, that's going on.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Well, the thing is you have to go out to
France and yeah yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Yeah, we're flying to the France. Now you the airport
right now, don't pack, let's go. No. Apparently they had
came to the States to visit her and her husband. Yeah,
so we end up having dinner with them, and then
I end up having dinner with them again on Sunday
because they're flying out basically Monday. So I was like,
you know what, it's not all all, not a total list. Yeah,
(06:37):
but that also meant that I didn't get to see
you on Sunday, And for that I apologize because I
was the one who initiated the like Sunday, dare you? Yeah,
I know, I'm sorry, but one thing led to another,
but it would have been canceled anyways, basically because I
really want to see my friend. I haven't seen it
in a while.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Well, I'm glad that it worked out and that you
were able to get some you nique and memorable photos
of your graduation. Uh if if maybe not the picturesque
thing you were aiming for. That's that's almost almost a
little better. You got a story to go with it.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
Oh it's you know. I this is why I love Derek.
He's just got that like posbou spin on everything for me,
telling a sob stories like well here's the silver lining,
and all of a sudden, I don't feel so bad alright, sir, Well,
that's my weekend, or that's my week rider. How's how's
your weekend?
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Man?
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Would you do?
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Oh? I didn't do nothing, Man, it was awesome. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
Sometimes it passed out.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
And I mean I've been working on like some side
projects of my own, but nothing like worth talking about,
like just stupid stuff cleaned up my basement, my nineties
rooms looking to good again, you know, kind of kind
of let it go into some disrepair. But you know,
just I mean some of that may have been because
of some you know, various storms coming through. And I'm like, oh,
(07:56):
if I'm gonna be spending time in the basement, I
want to be comfortable.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
Mmm.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
So I mean I can't pretend that I'm like, you know,
doing anything exciting or fun or but I am.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
I am.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
I'm just doing some of the stuff right now, and
that's been kind of nice. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
Yeah, Well a little weathering makes the room looks even
more ninety so.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Weathering, weathering, I think I need to give you a
dad joke bell or something thing. Oh geez, yeah, there
you go. How you feel about that? All right?
Speaker 3 (08:34):
You know it's because I graduated now I get to
do this.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
This is true. You've graduated to puns and I couldn't
be happier.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
That was one of the required electives for wife Studies unfortunately.
Yeah yeah, PhD level you have to know how to
do puns, I mean requirement.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
That is kind of how it goes. So let's shift
gears a little bit here and talk about some art
PG stuff. Huh yeah, let's do it.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Let's talk some upcaming release.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Yes, so, uh yeah, we have we have an upcame
release to talk about today because we missed last week.
But that's all right. Uh, and I wanted to really
talk about this one because it appears to be doing
really well so far. Ce of Stars. Throws of the
Watchmaker has released their free DLC expansion. Now this is
(09:29):
this is separate from their Free deal C or not DLC,
but just a free update that they had released to
like overhaul the the the difficulty levels and like the
introduction sequence. This is different. This is Throws of the Watchmaker.
It is a story expansion. Uh, and I'm kind of
(09:49):
wanting to check it out, but uh, maybe I'll hold
off until I maybe played something like Expedition thirty three
or or maybe finish my play through of Trails or something.
I don't know, but we have a trailer and I'm
gonna watch it right now, and I think that means
you guys are also, So let's check it out together,
do it?
Speaker 1 (10:11):
You dare enter?
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Who did their animation? That's really good?
Speaker 2 (10:21):
There we go. Powers will not work here. I don't
know who did that animation going on there? But the
voice acting is nice. There's voice acting in it. This
game has voice acting. It didn't before. Maybe it's just
for the trailer, yeah, I think, but it is.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
That is Oh god, this game makes.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Me want to play it all over again.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Lets do it. Oh that's a train section. Can you
like the train?
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Oh? You had better? The music? Oh god, I love
this song. It's a remix of a of an earlier song.
What the new character?
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Yeah, yeah, they thook that it was going to be
Oh they did say that, didn't they. Ah, yes, wheels.
That looks like multiple new characters. Maybe I could be mistaken.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
I don't know, Okay, exact.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
Dude?
Speaker 3 (11:43):
How is this free?
Speaker 2 (11:46):
I don't know? How was this free? That's a good question.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
Can't be free?
Speaker 2 (11:53):
And it's yes, it is a free deal. See and
it has also come to Xbox Game pass Along with
the rest of the game. So if you just happen
to never pay for it and just played it on
Xbox because you had game Pass, well you can keep
on playing it without any additional uh fundage. So yeah,
but you might just want to because it's such a
(12:14):
good game, guys. I I M.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
I like it. It's such a high bar for other developers.
There's a lot of content. It's a whole expansion with
new characters and new stories and new everything, and it's
free and it's like great game. It's not like some
bag game like expansion.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
Well, it depends on who you ask. It seems like
there are some people who just really have a hate
boner for the game. But I really love it. Well,
but you know, I'm a shill, so take my take
my opinion with a grain of salt.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
I still love and less for them to enjoy, and
that is true.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
That is true. H But we have another game that
is actually still yet on the horizon. I'm I'm taking
two for one here because I'm taking two for one
because I had to, you know, I had to. The
second one here only Musha two Samuraized Destiny is coming
out here on the twenty third it's coming to PlayStation
(13:16):
for the Xbox One, the Nintendo Switch, and PCVA Steam
as well, So let's just take a look at that
also while we're at it.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
Yeah, that remaster. I'm still surprised that there's releasing the
I know.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
I think it's still kind of funny that you didn't
know that they already really remastered the first one. I
really didn't. Well, I mean it's because they did it
like four years ago, though, I think I just.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
Don't really follow one musha. Yah, it's a game. Have
you not played it?
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Have you ever played it before?
Speaker 3 (13:54):
Oh? I just didn't care.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Yeah, but have you ever played it?
Speaker 3 (13:57):
Well? I played a first one. Yeah, I think I've
played the first one and then the third one.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
The third one was actually pretty cool, was the third one?
Speaker 3 (14:07):
The guy with the French guy?
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Right? Is that the first? Yeah? Yeah, that's the third.
Because it's because it's in the modern era. Well, it
used to be. It used to take place in a
modern era, but now it takes place twenty years ago. Wait,
why are they weird outfits? Why not? What's your problem?
Speaker 3 (14:28):
Bud?
Speaker 2 (14:29):
You gotta you got a problem with weird outfits in
the edo era? This is a historically accurate and JRPG.
It's not even JRPG historically accurate action adventure title.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
See, this is this is how lacks our how much
we cared about how accurate Samurai games were back in
the PlayStation two era, and we had better games because
we didn't care.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
Now it's like, ah, there were women samurais. Oh, this
guy is not Japanese.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
There's too many X chromosomes in this game, all right,
So anyways on Musha to Samuraize Destiny, uh with as
many chromosomes as you want. It's coming out for the
Xbox One, Switch and pcvst.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
Man, let's shift gears and talk about some new games
that are coming out there, because talk about some new game.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
This one is gonna be very short. Oka publisher d
m M Games and developer two Ko Games. If two
KOs sounds familiar to you, is because because it's named
after Tokyo that that's actually true. That's actually true. Yes,
But you know what else it means.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
It means uh two and then uh kill. You're not
gonna say it sounds like it sounds like nine, but
it's not, because that's that's Q right.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
Yeah, it's a little actually kill is it also means vicious,
so it's like too vicious, oh, vicious game. It's kind
of like saying it's all meaning like to legit, to
quit quit, Yeah, the sikest the ill is to kill. Yeah.
(16:28):
But if this company sounds millions because they recently released
and we talked about this, the hundred line, yes, yeah,
which is a pretty pretty pretty successful not not maybe
not as successful as uh say, you know, like exhibition
like thirty three, but certainly nothing to and if you know, go.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
Bad and if you don't remember, guys, this is the
the people that was. It was led by the Dongan
Rampa staff creator Katsutaka Yeahaka Yeah. So actually they will
also be leading this new title, new title. Yes, it's
a new title called ten Order. I have to be
(17:12):
Can you say that? Do you need to like.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
Ten ten order? Got just pronounced it sten order, got
ten order? Yes, Okay, let's take a look. It's just
it's just a quick teaser trailer. It's not a whole
lot to see, but I think for all the Dunk
fans out there, they are certainly esthetic to see yet
(17:37):
another new project come out.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
All right, let's check out that trailer and see what
there is ten? Because my finger is on the sensor button,
should the nader rise? But the good news is the
(18:02):
last time we were talking about how they were not
doing so hot financially, still in some deaths.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
And well that just means that new publishers swooped in
to be like, here's the money, make.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Us a game apparently, So that's cool. Yeah, yeah, we
like it when developers give money or publishers give money. Yes,
I will remind everyone to remember that it's all about
the operation. Operating capitals. Operating capital is what we worry about.
(18:38):
If even if the game does phenomenal two years from
now and sales us you know, off the chart, if
they don't have money today to pay their staff, then
they don't have the money to pay the staff today.
That's the tragedy of that's the tragedy of cult classics.
Cult classics is another way of saying that, you know,
people didn't get the recognition they deserved when it mattered, So.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
That's why they they care about pre order so much
sometimes because pre order pays the staff today sales later,
doesn't you know? It is what it is? So uh,
this is the new game, not much just known about
this new game. At the moment, it is currently being
(19:24):
developed for Switch and PC via steem. Uh so yeah,
duncan nobo Uh fans rejoice.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
And and you know what's interesting is that, uh, they
had another game that came out a couple of months ago.
I think it was like February.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
I forgot what the game is called because it's a
mobile game. I just can't bring myself to care. And
it was also developed by two Ko and had like
a different publisher, and that actually they had just announced
that that game is actually shutting down server.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
So I was like, well that that didn't take very long.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
Oh he did not out. That's like, I'm not too
bad happy about it. At the same time, I'm like,
just stop, just don't Tripe nine. The game was called
Tripe nine. Tripe nine is a extreme action RPG, is
free to play. It is gonna shut down start in
November twenty s.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
It sounded kind of familiar Tribe nine, but I I,
it sounds so generic. Yeah, so uh maybe maybe I
wonder does uh does ten actually mean anything in Japanese
or is it just a made up word for ten?
Speaker 3 (20:41):
I can't think of anything off the top of my head.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
But probably, okay, maybe probably, I'm just trying to maybe
glean some insight into what it could possibly be. Well,
that's all right, Well we meddle on that. Uh. We
have another game here that was announced from Devolver Digital Happiness. Uh,
they've just develop Digital Happiness. Did they change their name?
(21:04):
It used to just be Devolver Digital, didn't it anyways?
Speaker 3 (21:09):
No, no, no, no, sorry developer Developer Digital.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
Oh oh oh oh oh yep. That's thank you for
catching that. So it's not from Devolver Digital. That's that's
something different developer Comma Digital Happiness. Comma have just announced
the sequel to their third venture You Son of a Bitch,
their third person horror adventure game. Uh, and it's called
(21:35):
dread Out three. That now, this game is inspired by
an Indonesian urban legend that follows Linda's journey as she
travels between the living and the world of the unseen.
I don't know what that is, but let's find out together.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
Name a cult classic, Like you said, cult classic, a
horror adventure game, and they're coming off a new title,
which is pretty cool, I think, despite you know, Derek
not Oh what am I kidding? Derek loves horri games.
You played this before.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
Yeah, Now it should also be noted that I think
that the thumbnail had somebody in their underpants, So somebody
should probably look away from the screen if they are
under the age of twelve.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
Yes, or look anyways and giggle.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
I mean that's what we do.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
This is supposed to be a horror game.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
Somebody. I think they're trying to I think I've seen this.
I think they're trying to do an alchemist thing, summoned
the camera. Oh, they're gonna Uh, they're trying to fuse.
A little girl and a dog. I think she's thirsty.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
Oh, don't drink that, don't do it.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Well, you done messed up. Aaron.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
I think that is the main character.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Her name is Aaron, in fact, a Ron.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
That's correct. Yeah, Linda's her last name, exactly, a a Ron, Linda.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Little.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
What is that under right?
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (23:50):
Yeah, I saw that. Mm hm oh mmmmmm. You know
what I'm thinking that. Uh, they should probably get a
little more sun. Seems like they were looking a little
pale there.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
It is the War of the Unseen. Not seeing the
sun and not touching grass dread out.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Finally, an antagonist I can identify.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
With actually never played dread Out before.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
I want to definitely. Wait, I said definitely after GTA six.
Did you see that.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
Nice?
Speaker 2 (24:32):
That's that's nice.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
I have a sense of humor.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
I mean, yeah, I give it to them. No, no honesty,
you know, sense of honesty. Slated four sometime after twenty
twenty six released four PC via Steam. Additionally, Dreadout Remastered
Collection is now available on the PC via Steam as well.
This collection contains two games, including You Guessed It, dread
(24:55):
Out one and Dreadout Keepers of the Dark.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
So sorry, you guys, just actually not dread Out Too.
I have to look that up. I would say it's
that dread Out too. It's like no, actually there's a
separate dread Out too.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
That's like a one and a half situation. Gotta love
the old fake out.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Yep, so they do that back then. They didn't come
up to Oh no, I meant about the titles the
old switch Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, no, I'm saying they
used to do that back then more often. Oh yeah, Ronica.
It's like, wait, you mean that's not that's not resident.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
No no, no, it's like no, no, no, it's it's
like okay, yeah, it's like it's like, uh, First Blood
and then Rambo First Blood Part two and then John Rambo.
Oh jeez. Yeah. Anyways, I think, uh you got this
next one?
Speaker 3 (25:45):
Yes, uh, the next game we've got is back to RPGs.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Finally, y'all.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
Developer Alisoft and publisher Cocuita Games announced that they will
be bringing the remaster version if they're two thousand and
one you heard it right, two thousand and one dungeon
crawling visual novel two PC vs. Theme and the game
is called Yodo Kakuru Square of the Moon Remastered And
(26:14):
for the first time, this game will be available in
English and the wider audience of the world. It's one
of those like, yeah, it's one of those Yeah, we
just released it in japan O big deal kind of game.
But I mean, let's take a look.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Yeah, let's check it.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
This is definitely a Japanese indie game from two thousand
and it shows.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
Uh yeah, okay, this is this is the one. Okay,
I just want to make sure, hope there we go. Yeah,
Kagoa Games, Kakuda Games getting some like like city Pop
vibes already, like like City Hunter. Oh, I kind of
(27:03):
look it already.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
It's the two thousand.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
Man, it feels a little lying back twenty years. It
feels a little older than that. Okay, the CGI kind
of shows it, but it's like, oh yeah, this feels
like a nineteen eighties anime already though, like it might
have been made in the in the you know, aughts,
(27:27):
but this was definitely a throwback even then. Oh it's
just look at that.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
Look at that part.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
Oh look look at those P and G files. Look
at them eyes.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Look at them eyes bad Oh yep, look.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
At them pointy chins and those big eyes. That's that's
there's something super chuney about that, I think. I think
that's the word, right, chuney.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
Yeah, yeah, it's pretty cheeny.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
But also it's a throwback. It feels nineties, you know.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
I mean it came out in two thousand and one,
so yeah, it was I guess. Yeah, they were working
out on the nineties.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
You know, they hadn't quite switched over to a fully
uh digital only work workflow them, didn't really happen yet.
I kind of like it, though, I mean, of course,
it's just a you know, animu.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
So far, it's supposed to show some gameplay. I don't
know what happened, like, there's got to be gameplay because
I saw gameplay.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
I'm I'll keep an eye out for the gameplay, but
so far, I'm just, oh my god, we're gonna get
so copy striked for this.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
Did I keep it wrong?
Speaker 2 (28:42):
Video? You might have? That's okay? I mean, how much
time is left on the trip? Yep? That no gameplay?
I gave you? Can I gets in the chat for baku,
I keep you but for real, I actually I kind
(29:07):
of feel a little hyped for that, Like, dude, you know,
I would probably watch that. I would probably watch that anime.
But it's but it's not an anime. It's a visual
novel dungeon crawler, So I don't know. Depends how much horror.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
What happened to the gameplay?
Speaker 2 (29:22):
Does it say gameplay trailer? Ah? Ah, it's a visual novel, checkmate,
There is no gameplay.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
Oh no, there's definitely a dungeon crawler aspect to it.
I saw the Dungeon Caller aspect when mmmm.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
You know what? This game was released in two thousand
and one. I bet that there's somebody like got a
let's play of it? A long play of the original version.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
Like ten years ago. Like yeah, fifteen.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Fourteen or one four p you know, just absolute garbage
compression on it, you know. Oh yeah, So.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
That game is coming out in May thirty first, which
is just the end of the month on Steam. So
if you guys want some two thousand and one dungeon
crawling goodness and you know two thousands, early two thousands,
late nineties kind of anime.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
You know what.
Speaker 2 (30:26):
You know what, if you need a gameplay trailer to
see to decide to buy this game, you don't deserve
the chimney that this game has to offer. Okay, I'll
tell you that much. If that trailer doesn't sell, you tell.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
Them there, you tell them that trailer should have sold you.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
Oh man, Okay, well, so I think did I did
I interrupt you? Did you? Did you get everything out?
Speaker 1 (30:52):
Just no?
Speaker 3 (30:53):
I got everything out?
Speaker 2 (30:54):
Okay, okay, all right, yes, So then in that case,
it's time to to say this. Uh, you know, I
let it not be said that I will not allow
human Anatomy to be the butt of a joke. Okay,
but Stellar Blade Complete Edition has now been leaked. We
(31:14):
don't normally talk about leaks or ports for that matter,
but this one is kind of interesting. Because Stellar Blade
will be launching on pc VA, Steam and the Epics
Game Store this summer and the publisher is Sony. Uh yeah,
so they they kind of spilled the beans here on
(31:36):
this one inadvertently, but the complete edition of the game
will include the near Automata and the Goddess of Victory
Nikki DLCs AI upscaling Nike. Is it Nike n I
k k E? Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
I think so nick like like the like the god.
It's a victory in what Roman?
Speaker 2 (32:03):
Is that right? I don't know anyways, So Ai Upscaling,
which by the way, I think is thematically on point,
Japanese and Chinese voiceovers, a new boss battle, new costumes,
higher resolution environmental textures, and uh, if you bought the
PS five version, no worries because these upgrades will be
(32:24):
available to you as well on launch date. That's right, guys.
The assets have never been bigger. We also have a
trailer for it, I.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
Guess in your PS five for all those assets.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
Yeah, you're gonna let's let's uh, let's take a look
at this trailer. No, that didn't play this one?
Speaker 3 (32:53):
Should This one should have gameplay in it.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
I know it just it just wasn't there we go,
Oh my goodness, Oh, this is the game that I
really want to play, because I thought you had. I
thought you were like playing this Day one a lot.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
You didn't tear it to near a tomato, so I'm like, well,
I love near a tomatos, So let's see how this
one stacks. Though.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
That's why I assumed that you would have done so already.
But I guess that maybe that's not the case.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Is there assumption? Mix?
Speaker 2 (33:29):
And do you have goodness out of you and me? Yeah?
And the and the words of of Samuel L. Jackson.
You know what happens when you make an assumption? You
make an ass out of you and umption.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
Look at that.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
It's definitely got a lot of those physics, man, so
hair physics. It has physics. It has fishing. Oh it
has fishing. Oh it isn't. But i'd call it a
j RPG. But it was made in Korea, was it.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
I'm going to call it g RPG anyways, just to
piss everyone on fishing. I don't know what to tell you, man,
I didn't make the rules.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
Oh wow, can you just change? Oh wow, that's pretty neat.
Speaker 3 (34:23):
Apparently you get twenty five more outfits in this game,
So she didn't have enough outfits before.
Speaker 2 (34:29):
That's so much assets before. Such Wow, I mean, I mean,
don't change it close every battle.
Speaker 3 (34:40):
Oh else, you're playing so many outfits. She has so
many outfits. Everybody else, all the NPC is just wearing
the same clothes all the time, except for her. She's
just constantly changing clothes. And she's looking at everyone's like,
why don't you guys ever change it clothes? Actually, she's
the normal one. She's the normal one.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Yeah, you're right, you're right. Uh so, uh yeah, uh,
that's pretty cool. It's coming out on on the eleventh
of June. Uh, coming out on PC via Epics Game
Store and Steam. On a related note, Shift Up, the
(35:21):
company behind Stellar Blade has confirmed oh oh yeah, they're
they're the company behind Stellar Blade. Uh. They've confirmed though
that their latest financial report that the are through their
latest financial support that the sequel to Stellar Blade is
actually in the works and it may come as soon
(35:42):
as next year.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
Which is crazy because this game just came out and
just kind of like blew everyone up, and then and
then all of a sudden there's a new one, like
potentially next year.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
I mean, it's while let's just I mean, that's that's
a pretty incredible turnaround.
Speaker 3 (36:00):
Yes it's grant Nix, but thank you there.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
They also confirmed that there's an upcoming project called Project
Witches that is now slitted for some time, but before
twenty twenty seven, that's right.
Speaker 3 (36:18):
Yeah. So they had these like little bar graphs where
it's like, Okay, we're gonna release this, and then we
release this, and then we release this kind of timeline
milestone kind of dang. So the last milestone that they
hit was releasing Stelli Blay, and then the next milestone
was just says sequel on it, and then the next
milestone says Project Witches, and then the next thing next
(36:40):
to that it just says twenty twenty seven. So it
was they're basically saying, like, this is all milestone from
twenty twenty four to twenty twenty seven, we released Deli Play,
and then sometime before twenty twenty seven, we're going to
release the sequel and release something called Project Witches. So
very interested to see you know what, chef ups God
(37:02):
up their sleeves, man, because boy they are they're just
they're just killing it.
Speaker 2 (37:06):
But she's not wearing any sleeves.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
Well, you got to see her like ninety outfits? Have
you gone through all ninety of them? Are you sure
she doesn't wear any sleeves on? You know what?
Speaker 2 (37:17):
I have not?
Speaker 3 (37:20):
I have not?
Speaker 2 (37:21):
Sorry? All right, on that note, let's switch gears to
something entirely different. Did you want to kick this one
off here? Man? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (37:30):
Do you want to click on you want to display
the link that I shared with you? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (37:35):
Let me let me pull that up here for us.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
So this is interesting. We haven't had an anime news
in a long time, but here we are in twenty
twenty five and we've got yourself an anime news, but
not for any particular anime shows. This actually is in
reference to Anime Expo, as they are caught using AI
(37:58):
generated image to her milt dare even and the Enginet
is not liking this. It's screwed down.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
A howking dare they? Okay?
Speaker 3 (38:10):
How dare day?
Speaker 2 (38:13):
Click on that ouch that?
Speaker 3 (38:16):
Click click on it, click on it, click click on
it and you can see it. Oh yeah, and it
just really enhanced that photo there.
Speaker 2 (38:24):
Hmm. I can't make that any larger but copied picture.
You're l Here we go, Yeah, there we go. Okay,
Oh dude, look.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
At that hand. Look at that it looks like it broke.
Look at that painful all those.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
I think it actually looks like he's screaming in pain
because he just broke his pinky.
Speaker 3 (38:49):
I hurt my hand doing boys act ding. I mean,
look at look at the picture in the back, the
one on the left. Look at it. Look at her
eyes on the left. Oh yeah, so yes, it's obvious.
Speaker 2 (39:06):
And well that's that's clearly hand drawn, though, I mean,
you can't fault the artist for I mean, obviously it
is definitely AI. But uh but right there, yeah, that's yeah,
not entirely surprising, though. I mean, if I'm being honest,
(39:26):
it seems with them, yeah, I'm sure that they are.
But yeah, uh well, I mean, is it is it
worse than paying somebody five bucks on fiver to do it?
Speaker 3 (39:39):
Yes, because at least someone made five bucks.
Speaker 2 (39:43):
Yeah, but here's the other thing. If that person made
five bucks making it, are they.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Well here's the thing. A lot of people, so specifically
on fiver, a lot of people on fiver are like
in uh, let's just say a country does not as
well off five Okay, so that could actually make a
big difference for them. Okay, but now you're even depriving
that possibility. And look, a lot of people would have
gladly done it either pro bono. Yeah, because it's for
(40:14):
like anime expos anime extra right away for the uninitiated.
Is the largest enemy convention in possibly the world, because
it's the largest.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
In the States. That makes a difference because I did
not know that.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
Oh no, this is not like a tiny like local
community convention and they just don't have the budget. No,
this is the og really big convention in California, probably
one of the biggest in the world. It is the
absolute biggest in the United States. Because I was gonna say,
like I.
Speaker 2 (40:48):
Was gonna say, like I mean, just to just to
pull out the name of some random con like soccer
a con for instance, like like a smaller local con
or something, I'd be like, uh, you know whatever.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
But okay, this this is scale makes a difference. It
does make a difference. Oh yeah, this is we're talking
about like maybe two hundred a thousand attendees kind of deal.
Like two tickets would pay for a picture easy, you know,
if if even probably because the ticket prizes keeps going up. Yeah,
(41:20):
so people live it for a very simple reason. This
Anime Expo celebrates the anime industry and guess what the
industry has been fighting recently.
Speaker 2 (41:31):
Yeah, that's a bad look, Like all the question, all.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
The animators, all the voice actors.
Speaker 2 (41:40):
To reel it back in just a moment, though, Is
this like some you know, somebody just being stupid, some
intern who's like I have to make a post. Who
they haven't got me the assets? I'm going to just
go on to you know, open uh or yeah, open
a eyes website, make a make a ghibli style thing
and then I'll call it good.
Speaker 3 (42:01):
Well, you know, you know.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
Or is it really more of a systemic issue, Like
it's the.
Speaker 3 (42:06):
Fact that they haven't apologized for it or addressed it
or say anything about it or corrected in any manner
should tell you something.
Speaker 2 (42:15):
It tells me like, I mean that's what I would
do based it's based solely on the fact that the
Internet does not give forgiveness. When you apologize, it's best.
I mean, it sounds bad and it's but it's true.
Like when has has anybody ever been forgiven when they've
apologized on the Internet. It feels like no, Like like
(42:36):
sometimes there's like a yeah, my bad.
Speaker 3 (42:39):
It really depends.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
But half the time, unless you like really stick the landing,
people are just like mad that that you know, that
you didn't stick to your guns or whatever. And yeah,
I don't know. The internet is tricky and complicated, so
I kind of understand. But also, yeah, it's a bad look.
Speaker 3 (42:57):
So we'll see. They could have i mean not literally
thrown an intern under the bus, but they kind have
at least pretended to frow someone under the bus and
just be like, yeah, we had an intern that this,
and then yeah, sorry, we've corrected the situation. False alarmed.
You know, we support da da da. It's a good
opportunity for them to say, hey, we support you know,
real artists da da da yah make this industry possible
(43:21):
and made this convention possible. This whole culture is based
on artists, uh, you know, their contribution.
Speaker 2 (43:28):
Once a rage machine has hit a certain capacity, though,
there's no coming back from it, and the best thing
you can do is just try to bury it. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (43:39):
I don't think that they're gonna be able to bury
this one anytime soon. It's probably not how relevant it is,
Like if it's like a tiny little AI image on
like something that's not very related to the industry at all,
and someone's just called it and a couple of people
are mad that use yes, whatever, it's a nothing you know, yeah,
it's a nothing story.
Speaker 2 (44:00):
This is different.
Speaker 3 (44:01):
This is the animy Exco with the largest anime convention
that with all the people in the entire industry fighting
out this AI situation, it's very irrelevant.
Speaker 2 (44:12):
It's it's definitely a bad look. I just don't see
a winning move. And sometimes, you know, to borrow a
quote from war games, sometimes the only winning move is
not to play boy. I mean especially I don't know
and personally speaking, and I'm not endorsing you know, just
(44:34):
AI all the things, of course not. But but what
is this happens Just just say, for instance, you were
the person in charge of this, something happened, this happened
under your watch.
Speaker 3 (44:47):
What do you do, Like I mean, I mean, I'd
own up to it. I'd be like, hey, that was
a mistake. We're going to fix it, and then we'll
give you a new announcement. That's yeah, it will take
three days to you know, it was not for a while.
By the way, it's not like it's next week, like
(45:08):
they have time like they can fix this, you know,
so you catch it hopfully, hopefully will hopefully.
Speaker 2 (45:14):
I just don't know if I don't know, it just
feels to me like from a certain perspective, I've seen
people get run through the culls for making an offhanded
comment that maybe poked some fun at PERSONA like and
have left a platform over it. So I'm just like,
you know what, you know what, just.
Speaker 3 (45:35):
I've gone on records saying that I think like P three,
but but before I get canceled, okay, reload kind of
redeemed it for me, So I like it now.
Speaker 2 (45:46):
Oh yeah, it has problems, but I think I don't
think anybody really denies that PERSONA three has any problems.
It's just it's just priz some some of the criticisms,
Oh yeah, well they're there are some people.
Speaker 3 (46:01):
You know what, here's the thing, like, we people who
watch us show us us to we anyone who's here
right now, we're part of the population that are sensible
and we can actually discuss intellectually. Rather something is good
about the mayor and this marriage, I'll demerit, uh not
(46:24):
necessarily the greater Internet.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
That's what I was kind of kind of getting at
like your your idea, like, you know, we made a problem.
Here's you know, here's how we're going to fix it.
My bad. You know, that would make total sense for
the majority of sensible people. But things like this don't
blow the hell up when you're dealing with sensible people.
I mean, it's it's it's fine to be mad about
(46:48):
it and be like, huh, well that's stupid. Why would
you do that? Yeah, that was bad move. Don't do that.
Speaker 3 (46:54):
But I don't know what it is.
Speaker 2 (46:55):
Only at a certain point you just get this, you know,
race gets its own gravity. That just attracts more rage,
and any sort of attention you provide to it will
just fuel that fire. So that's kind of my perspective
as someone who's been on the internet. Not to brag,
(47:16):
but I've been on the internet for a while.
Speaker 3 (47:21):
No, here's the thing, I don't know what's worse, right,
because you let's say you have a group of people
who are more sensible and then a group of people
who are not as sensible, and those people who are
not as sensible, they'll be mad no matter what you do.
Kind of like you said, But then there are the
sensible crowd who would have accepted the apology. If you've
just corrected yourself now you won't do that now Even
(47:42):
those people are like, oh, okay, so you're just gonna
live with this one then, right, like you are not
apologetic at all, Like this is your stance, Like you've
made a choice, this is not a mistake. We've intended this.
So now you've pissed off the other part of the
internet too. Who would have forgiven you otherwise? See that's
what I point, right, because we don't like we forgive,
(48:04):
we don't forget, right, But now we're doing neither. So
I don't know, man, I like, like you said, I
don't know what's the right play for them, But right
now it's not going good.
Speaker 2 (48:17):
When when did they post that? By the way, two
days a couple of days ago.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
It's pretty recent. Yeah, so it happened to take it down?
Speaker 2 (48:27):
Probably, Okay, they've had enough time to do something with it.
I mean, would it would it be better or worse
to just delete it and then never acknowledge it? Like
would that make it worse? Probably? Or maybe not? Like
I'm trying to think of, like what's what would be
the correct not not like, what's the morally right thing
(48:50):
to do. I don't think that there is a morally
right thing to do.
Speaker 3 (48:53):
It's the more practicatic.
Speaker 2 (48:54):
Twitter, I guess. But yeah, like what's from Like if
if I was in charge of PR, this would be
an interesting thing to try to mitigate.
Speaker 3 (49:03):
Yes, it absolutely is. It's a great uh test case,
use case, test case case study.
Speaker 2 (49:11):
Yeah, and I think we'll see how it plays out.
Speaker 3 (49:17):
Yeah, absolutely, speaking of uh not learning lessons or maybe
learning lessons. Sony Interactive Entertainment establishes Team LFG.
Speaker 2 (49:30):
LG Looking for Group, Looking for Group.
Speaker 3 (49:34):
Sony announced they will established a new studio called Team LFG.
And is it Belleville Belleville, Bellevie, Washington, LV, Washington, LV, Washington,
because there's another LFG that I know about? But yeah,
looking for group?
Speaker 2 (49:48):
Is is the the MMO?
Speaker 3 (49:50):
No, it is that group that you're thinking about, because
the other one was like, let's sing go but oh
okay no, sorry, yeah, okay, just making sure maybe that's
what it actually stands for anyways. LG, according to Sony,
stands for looking for Group, which unsurprisingly is perfect for
(50:11):
the studio that we'll be in charge of developing. And
I quote team based action games. This is coming from
Sony so pretty interesting because it seems like they have
either felt like they have learned a lesson from Concord
or they really haven't learned their lesson from Concord. I
(50:33):
don't know, like it's this Sony like, hey, we know
exactly what happened in Concord. We've learned that we're going
to avoid it this time when we make this whatever
live service game we finally do with this LFG, because
it's definitely going to be a live service game, one
no doubt. The entire studio is there just to make
a live service game of some sort. I have a prediction, okay.
Speaker 2 (50:56):
If it is, if it is life service games, because
they didn't necess sssarily say that part right, they said
team based action games, not necessarily life service But I
guess that that does kind of go hand in hand today, Yes,
I was. I was going to say though that My
prediction is if if whatever they do blows up, Sony
(51:21):
will never touch it again. As soon as they get
something successful, they walk away, because that's what Sony does.
Speaker 3 (51:32):
That's how you get them to kill an idea. You
let it be successful and they will never touch it again.
Speaker 2 (51:40):
But how do you get them to double down on
bad ideas, you let it flop.
Speaker 3 (51:47):
I'm surprised they didn't reach out to like size game
and try to do another life service.
Speaker 2 (51:52):
So, given given that, I do predict that they have
learned nothing from Concord and they're gonna double down and
they're going to make another Concord. Meanwhile, meanwhile, legend of
dragoons over here, just just bones under the water, bles,
skeleton chain to a chair underwater. That's exactly it.
Speaker 3 (52:12):
Oh boy. Uh yeah, So I'd love to hear what
you guys might think, you know, give us your prediction.
What do you think Sony is up to you with? Uh,
you know, studio olguh. My guess is they're not giving
up on this life service situation. They really want something
to you. They know what it is like executives, they
(52:34):
they've got an eagle. Yeah, you know, it's like they
have to they can't let that go. They have to
have some kind of success. They can't just leave it
alone and just let it.
Speaker 2 (52:47):
Well, what's the alternative to admit that we just can't
make a billion dollars off of a you know, million
dollar idea? No, I say not of that. You know
what happens when I'll tell you what happens. When life
gives you lemons, you send those lemons back. Do you
(53:08):
know who I am? Where? Did? Where?
Speaker 3 (53:12):
Did that come from? It from?
Speaker 2 (53:14):
It's from a Portal two Cave Johnson. Oh, he's got
such a a have you? Have you played Portal two?
Speaker 3 (53:21):
I have not played Portal at all. You won't play Portal,
but I've never played Portal.
Speaker 2 (53:25):
Oh, it's it's fantastic. Yeah, that whole that whole monologue
from Cave Johnson. I'll send it to you later. You'll
you'll love it.
Speaker 3 (53:35):
I love all the little one liners from the game though.
I have seen some of those, and I think they're fantastic.
I just never never actually played the game. Maybe one
of these days you should.
Speaker 2 (53:46):
It's fun and it's I mean, technically it has a gun,
but it's not a first person shooter.
Speaker 3 (53:51):
It's a puzzle game, you see, it's not a JP
I don't know. I just fishing in there, and I
justify playing Portal on stream fishing.
Speaker 2 (54:01):
And you've played Stanley Parable though, and that's it's basically
the same thing.
Speaker 3 (54:05):
Oh that's fair. Yeah, yeah, But no, Standy Patrol has
no puzzles I mean kind of though, you just you
just walk around and you just see things.
Speaker 2 (54:15):
Yeah, that's kind of what it is importal to. It's
be real. I mean, you just happen to have to
use portals to walk around, right.
Speaker 3 (54:27):
The last piece of news that we've got for you all,
which is actually a lot of different things. So we're
just kind of machine gunned this really quickly.
Speaker 1 (54:37):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (54:37):
The title that I wrote down is lots of events
are coming up. That's basically just if what I'm about
to tell you guys. So let's start with the event
that is closest to where we are today. The Indie
j RPGs showcase Indie Quest twenty twenty five, is set
(54:58):
on May twenty ninth at seven pm Eastern Time on YouTube.
Speaker 2 (55:05):
That's right now.
Speaker 3 (55:06):
This is a new showcase that will and this is
from the event sponsor, that will spotlight over forty exclusive
game trailers and a must see world premiere for me,
critically acclaimed the studio, Oh.
Speaker 2 (55:25):
Who could that be?
Speaker 3 (55:27):
Yeah, you know, it's it's kind of funny because it's like, Okay,
so this is RPG indie showcase, but you also have
a critically acclaimed studio, a world premiere.
Speaker 2 (55:43):
Yeah, I don't know if any wouldn't like happen critically
acclaimed JRPG. I can't think of any.
Speaker 3 (55:51):
Just critically acclaimed studio.
Speaker 2 (55:55):
I'm kidding. That could be cool though, hmm hmm.
Speaker 3 (56:01):
It makes you wonder. It's like, okay, but you can
you can write out like Atlas or you know, Square
in X. I mean, because they're not in the studio,
because they're not indies, so like, so who could it be?
Like I'm excited. I want to find out. You know.
It's just look, this is probably the and here's the
other interesting thing that I wanted to bring up too.
It's like, look, it used to be that only like
(56:23):
the big boys get to showcase their games in like
E three whatever. Now the indie developers are getting together.
Its like, yeah, we'll do all showcase.
Speaker 2 (56:34):
Yeah indie showcase. Well it's it's it's not though this
is being organized by by Taylor uh from the Game Shelf.
It's just yeah, just a dude like me. We hang out,
not hang out, but we we talk on on Discord
and stuff.
Speaker 3 (56:50):
It's just just do it. Yes, well okay, not not
to not to uh you know, put them down there.
Speaker 2 (56:57):
But I what I what I mean is he's we're indies, indies,
indie content creators making stuff with indy uh JRPGs.
Speaker 3 (57:08):
That's pretty good. Yeah, yeah, No, I think what I
mean is not the scale of like the showcase, but
the fact that you even have a showcase at all.
Yeah you're saying, which.
Speaker 2 (57:19):
Is yes, with really new exclusive trailers. That's pretty dang sick.
Speaker 3 (57:25):
And it's not just like, yeah, it's not just some dude,
well you know what it is. It's not just some guy.
And I want to make sure that that this is
understood with everyone too. It's not just some dude who
just like collected a bunch of trailers. Well, hey guys,
I'm gonna show these trailers to you. Yo.
Speaker 2 (57:43):
They are submitting to him to yea, yeah and.
Speaker 3 (57:49):
Awesome. So I would love to I would love with
this to be an annual thing, Like, let's make it,
make an annual thing, make it happen, Make it happen,
and we'll cover it and then we'll talk about it.
So that is going to be May twenty ninth for
anyone who is interested in watching this again, May twenty ninth,
(58:09):
seven pm Eastern on YouTube. That's probably the biggest one
in the closest one up next. Soon after that there's
the Future Game Show Summer Showcase. Speaking of big industry player,
this is going to be like the bigger one as
far as like scale is concerned. That's on June seventh.
There's four pm Eastern on YouTube, Twitter, and Twitch, and
(58:33):
it just kind of scales up from there. And now
we're having like an actual industry thing bit Summit, which
I don't know if you remember what bitsumming is, but
it's kind of like a indie developer thing, indie developed,
but like big company publisher situation.
Speaker 2 (58:51):
Oh no, I don't recall.
Speaker 3 (58:53):
So like sue Asa Games or they, you know, Aniplex,
you know they they Yeah, they have a whole thing
called the BitSummit, and I would expect things from say Games,
their shu Asa and he creates Anti Plex and so
on and so forth. That's going to be on July
eighteenth through July twentyeth so it just like a three
(59:13):
day convention. Like now we're getting bigger and bigger, and
then we shrink back down. The Digimon Expo twenty twenty
five is set for September twentieth to September twenty first.
All these things are just getting announced Expo for Digimon,
just for Digimon. Well last year, oh one of the
year they did, the digit had like three or four things.
(59:34):
I feel like, right they released the well, no, they
they announced the digitmon Survive in one of them.
Speaker 2 (59:40):
I think, oh god, that's been ages then.
Speaker 3 (59:43):
And then the last one they did, I think they
announced something else.
Speaker 2 (59:46):
But so we'll see what they announced this time.
Speaker 3 (59:49):
Digimon's story or something. I'm not a big digitmon phan.
I'm so sorry. I don't I don't want to.
Speaker 2 (59:54):
Oh that's right, Digimon does have that new that new
game though that they have, Right, that almost tricked me
into caring about it. I remember that so close is
so close. So if only if only they just had
Digimon that looked a little less dirty. We're so close,
(01:00:14):
We're so close.
Speaker 3 (01:00:15):
Do you do you feel like Digimon is better in Pokemon?
Let's just say it once before the pitchforks.
Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
Oh, Pokemon looks way better than Digimon.
Speaker 3 (01:00:25):
Yeah, no, Pokemon looks way better.
Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
I mean anyway, well, I mean the Mon's in particular,
the gameplay and the game and the characters within though,
I mean, and and just the overall quality of the game.
Speaker 3 (01:00:38):
Didimon by a mile.
Speaker 2 (01:00:40):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely, but just the character does hate.
Speaker 3 (01:00:43):
The character designs in Pokemon, Well no, I don't hate
the design they're just so they get rendered. Yeah, and
mind themselves are fine.
Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
I mean they they would have looked great. Play listen, listen,
the latest Pokemon would have looked so good on PlayStation two.
Give it to them. The best looking game on PS two,
hands down.
Speaker 3 (01:01:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
PS two was twenty years ago. Guys, It's time to
time to switch up and uh and add some more
polygons and.
Speaker 3 (01:01:16):
There.
Speaker 2 (01:01:17):
If you look, if you look, if you look at
the trailer, or at least the last trailer that I
saw for the upcoming Pokemon Legends game, uh, look at
the buildings a Z right, yeah, yeah, yeah, look at
the look at the buildings because if you, if you,
if you look at it, they're all flat and they
(01:01:41):
the the windows are just like P and G files
stuck onto the buildings. M it's so bad.
Speaker 3 (01:01:53):
Yeah, and yet it is the most profitable franchise. Eff RPG, the.
Speaker 2 (01:02:03):
Biggest turn based RPG out there by a mile, which
is why I which is the only reason I still
kind of care. I'm like, guys, you're you're making us
look bad. They made a billion dollar of just a
merch Yeah, it's That's the other thing though, is that
it's the biggest franchise that happens to be tied to
(01:02:25):
a middling video game series. But like the whole, like
the rest of the franchise is like doing Gangbusters, right.
But the games themselves, I don't think are the They're not.
They they might have been one of the reasons they
got big back in nineteen ninety seven or something. Don't
(01:02:47):
quote me on that, but but but as of right now,
they're they're definitely treated like an afterthought. Anyways, didimon X
most interesting?
Speaker 3 (01:02:58):
Yeah? Did you Expo twenty five? Yeah, that's such for
September twenty TiO September twenty first. More details will be
announced in June twenty sixth. I know I'm just throwing
a lot of dates that you guys, but look, you
can watch rewatch this segment for however many times you
need to get all.
Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
The dates you know, And I will throw this out there.
For someone who brags about having survived being on the
internet for a while, I should probably learn to keep
my mouth shut on the topic of Pokemon.
Speaker 3 (01:03:28):
That's okay, No, Pokemon fan ever watches the show. Anything
proved me wrong? Fan, write something into common, Oh, dear
and ditchmon fans. I want you guys duke it out
in the common section. Okay, which is better Pokemon?
Speaker 2 (01:03:45):
No, no, don't duke it out. You guys have to battle.
Speaker 3 (01:03:50):
Right one of the faint one of them dies. I
don't know, it's not really fair anyways. The last one
that we've got here is the sort of like the granddaddy,
the big, big, big show of every year that I
(01:04:12):
end up spending like twenty hours preparing for the next
like show for hit Point, and that's Tokyo Game Show.
Like I'm getting PTSD from TGS. When I hear TGS,
I'm like, I gotta watch like twenty hours of trailers
and I got to like go through a bunch of
things and write the long documents of all these games
(01:04:33):
that are coming out. Well, TGS is coming. They have
announced the day. It is September twenty fifth, just September
twenty eighth. So again the scale of the show just
keeps growing here. Yeah, in lin lieu of e three,
like TGS is kind of like it like the remaining
(01:04:56):
dominant player in this whole like game show situation.
Speaker 2 (01:05:01):
It's like the last remaining vestige of like.
Speaker 3 (01:05:05):
The bohemous shows you know. Yeah, no more A three
just congregate. Yeah, So expect a whole bunch of news
coming out from the starting with again the indiegrpgs Showcase.
Let's just talk about this one more time because it
is the most recent. It is going to happen in
the twenty ninth of May. Yeah, on seven pm Eastern time.
Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
I'm looking forward to seeing that. Ah, yeah, me too.
Speaker 3 (01:05:32):
I've heard our good friends that so and so Studio
will have their you know, the latest trailers, just maybe
a release gate on a certain game.
Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
Hey, hey, we don't know nothing about nothing, man, Nobody
tells me nothhing. The sweating bullets like, oh my god,
don't don't say anything. Don't say anything. You sign an NDA.
Speaker 3 (01:05:55):
No, we didn't sign anything.
Speaker 2 (01:05:59):
Okay, but I will say that. Oh I should shift
gears here because, believe it or not, we are actually
nearing the end of today's show. But before we wind down,
I did want to respond to some super chats. Well,
at least it was a super chat that we got
here from Cetera Blues. Thank you so much. There et cetera,
(01:06:20):
who says don't get to catch Hit Point Live all
that often, but just wanted to chime in and say
that I really appreciate all the work you put into
your channels and streams.
Speaker 3 (01:06:29):
Cheers.
Speaker 2 (01:06:30):
Well, thank you very much. Yeah, I really appreciate that.
It's good to have you around.
Speaker 3 (01:06:37):
Yeah, we got just an exciting violence between Digitmond and
Pokemon fans. I don't know if we've done it.
Speaker 2 (01:06:44):
I feel like, yeah, that not the best, not the
best look to get to hit that comment on. I
think that the solution is just to not acknowledge the discrepancy,
to delete the podcast episode and pretend it never happened.
Speaker 3 (01:07:03):
It's fine, Killny.
Speaker 2 (01:07:06):
But we did get some comments from last week. Did
you want to read this first one?
Speaker 3 (01:07:10):
Let's hear it so Anthony. Sorry, Anthony H twenty three says,
thank you so much for recommending clear Upscure Expedition thirty
three bought it after listening. The game is a masterpiece. Wow,
that's how I read it in my head. Just wow,
(01:07:30):
that's that's awesome. I still haven't I still haven't played it.
I need to, Like I said, i've been kind OF's.
Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
Been kind of not not really doing a whole heck
of a lot lately, and and I think it's been
doing me some good. I do want to I actually
really want to start streaming again here soon. It feels
like there hasn't been a whole lot of RPG news
that I needed to like really talk about. So that's
why hip point or jerpg a weekly update has been
(01:08:02):
kind of slacking a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:08:03):
But yeah, I only brought this comment up. I mean, Anthony,
thank you so much for writing a comment. But I
will say that I brought out the comments just like shame.
Derek really quickly shot I get it.
Speaker 2 (01:08:15):
It's working, It's working. Did you did you see how
quickly I became defensive over over my lack of playing
RPGs this last couple of weeks. Like, I feel like
at this I think you.
Speaker 3 (01:08:27):
Need it sometime. I think you needed some me time.
Just do your thing, and when you want to do
the thing, you will want to do the thing. You
know when when when the feeling comes, you will want
to do it. Yeah, but don't do it?
Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
Yeah yeah. So uh This next one here comes from
Joshua Banell or maybe Banya, who says, uh, I don't
feel bad for first press games. We should have gotten
Chained Echo's physical games a long time ago, but we
still haven't seen it.
Speaker 3 (01:08:58):
Uh we ever see it?
Speaker 2 (01:08:59):
Or will ye? Yeah, So don't don't get it twisted.
I never said that I feel bad for first press games.
I mean a part of me, part of me in
the back of my mind, like you know where like
someone's guilty of something. But you're like, well, there's still
like the ten percent chance that maybe it's just a
(01:09:19):
case of mistake and identity. Like they've they've gone some
things that they have clearly been struggling with as far
as like their suppliers go. Has that been for four
years of discrepancy or probably not four years? How long
hasn't been since Chained Echos came out? Like have they
(01:09:42):
been really been facing these issues like two three years
worth of issues? I don't know, Like sure, maybe maybe
the stars have aligned to really screw these guys over,
or maybe it's just a case of very poor management
from the get go and now they are going to
(01:10:05):
be facing the consequences of their actions or they're going
to disappear. I don't know. I don't know, No, don't know,
But hopefully hopefully they get it sorted before before that happens,
because I really would like my physical copy.
Speaker 3 (01:10:25):
But latest, I'm on their website right now. The remaining
already announced Collector's Edition A plan to be manufactured in
April twenty twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
Five, so last month. Oh, they're planning to chain echoes. Yeah, yeah,
so they're they're planning to make them last month.
Speaker 3 (01:10:44):
Cool.
Speaker 2 (01:10:46):
I'm looking forward to find out when when they were
planning on shipping them. Next Yeah, we're planning on shipping
those in February of twenty twenty three. Yeah, yeah, we'll see. Well,
we'll see when when that happens.
Speaker 3 (01:11:06):
All right, next next up, I've got a comment from
I'm bored too that years from Capcom was when they
started adding the Enigma Protector Russian DRM to both oh
and new titles Strider, Ghost Trick and some r E games,
et cetera. Man, that's terrible. I didn't even know they
(01:11:28):
added all those d r ms in the games they release.
They didn't remove them anyways, Like I didn't look into it,
but thank you so much for letting us. Uh no,
we were kind of surprised too. Yeah, Capcom didn't really
do anything terrible. It's like, yeah, No, they did the
drms like a d.
Speaker 2 (01:11:46):
I mean, DRM sucks anyway, but I think that that's
the thing. Like this, this came up in the subject
of Breath of Fire and how like, man, they just
can't seem to like quit winning, right.
Speaker 3 (01:12:02):
If they're just they're just doing everything so right, the
fans are just elated.
Speaker 2 (01:12:07):
Yeah. But on the bright respect the franchise, I'm pretty
sure that everything on goodle Games is like DRM free, right,
That's that's kind of like their shtick. If I'm not mistaken,
I could be wrong about that, which is their stick
breath of uh.
Speaker 3 (01:12:25):
Good old Games, which is where Breath of Fire for
was re released. Uh yeah, you know, yeah the end
they don't have DRM et cetera. You get to keep it,
so at least there's that.
Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
But but yeah, DRM, Yeah it sucks. Hackers will hackers
will remove it. Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:12:47):
Like two days, give them forty eight hours all the
drms are disabled, and that's gonna be ongoing war DRM
and updates.
Speaker 2 (01:12:56):
Dude, did you hear? I recently heard a story about
DRM that was released by Sony onto certain compact discs.
Turned out it's actually a rootkit.
Speaker 3 (01:13:12):
Oh yes, back then, Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:13:17):
From like two thousand and like five, two thousand and six.
Oh yeah, yes, there there's like a oh god, who
was it? So I recently found out about this watching
a video from Cheap Audio Guy or Cheap Audio Man. Uh,
and he had a little expos talking about it and
kind of bringing it back up. Very surprising to find
(01:13:39):
out that there are viruses on pressed CDs these days.
Luckily they did it on a bunch of crap that
nobody will ever listen to, Like I can't remember, like
it's the titles of the CDs.
Speaker 3 (01:13:55):
But yeah, just jeez, that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
Yeah. Apparently like the Homeland Security had to get involved,
and then they finally stopped pressing those CDs after a while.
Speaker 3 (01:14:06):
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
But it like took two weeks from the time it
was discovered before they're actually like, yeah, let's let's stop
the presses. But it was all it was all there
as an attempt to like get people to stop you know,
you know, burning discs or ripping discs and stuff. Oh yeah, yeah,
that was that was some classic Sony maneuvering back in
you know, the mid aughts, back when, back when people
(01:14:32):
had an all time low of giving a single about CDs.
Speaker 3 (01:14:40):
They're so glad we're done with that. But I'm just
waiting for the Nixon. I'm waiting with Jen Alpha to
bring CDs back.
Speaker 2 (01:14:46):
Oh they're coming back, dude.
Speaker 3 (01:14:47):
They are.
Speaker 2 (01:14:48):
Oh yeah, yeah, they're higher audio bitrate than what you
can get from most places, cheaper also, and in a
lot of cases then you can like buy an entire
album for and yeah, something physical to hold onto. It's
kind of coming back. So it's kind of practical, bike,
But realistically, technically, physical media in general is kind of
(01:15:10):
making a comeback because everything is becoming really anti consumer
right Like Netflix is kind of, you know, taking a
dump in its own bed, and all the media streaming
services are just nickeling and diming and gouging us.
Speaker 3 (01:15:27):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (01:15:27):
I've been going to thrift stores picking up CDs and
Blu ray discs and everything on the cheap, and I've
been ripping them all into my home media ser Oh
my god. Yeah, it's been great. I have that is
such a brilliant move. I have so many movies and
they are really mine, and and then I also have
some uh that I borrowed from the library, and uh,
(01:15:48):
they've got the discs back and I can still watch them.
That's kind of nice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So in other news,
we have one more message here from Gobo Sox twenty
and I feel like this one's directed at me. He says,
you watch dragon Ball, but Naruto was too trendy. I
(01:16:11):
see what you did there, Gobo Sox. But let me
tell you. Let me tell you about back back in
the day when I started watching this was sixth grade,
so I was probably twelve. So let's say that was
nineteen ninety eight. Uh, maybe nineteen ninety seven, end of
fifth grade era for me. Yeah, let me let me
(01:16:32):
tell you. Let me tell you something. Dragon Ball was
still underground. I was on the ground floor. My friends
and I we were watching through the Saying saga together.
Do we watched the first like twelve episodes of dragon
Ball Z. No less than twenty times, not because we
liked it that much, Because that's how long it took
them to get new episodes of Dragon Ball Z. Real
(01:16:55):
ones will remember the pain of watching the the Freezer
saga up until a certain point, like no, no shitting
you man, it took like four years. You think do
you think it took so long watching Goku power up
for his special attack because you had to go through
(01:17:17):
two episodes. Buddy, let me tell you. I had to
wait like two whole god years and it was real pain. Man.
Oh my god, you have no idea how lucky you've
got it.
Speaker 3 (01:17:32):
That's why I fell off. Oh my god. I know.
Speaker 2 (01:17:37):
They just could not ship episodes soon enough. I started
off with the ocean dub, and then I was like, oh,
who these new voice actors. This is weird, okay, And
then they like went back and re dubbed everything all
over again instead of proceeding further. I'm like, what do
you guys do? And I don't even I liked the
older Goku sounds all kind of dirty and like, but
(01:17:59):
now they got I mean, there's nothing wrong with Sean Schimmel,
he's fine, but I mean, like the ocean dub was
something special and I kind of still like that version
of krill In too. Uh there's something special about that.
And and that's also Vegita's voice actor. Honestly, something about
the ocean dub is still just perfect. Yes, yes, I'm
(01:18:22):
bored too. Absolutely, Vegeta's saying it's overnight thousand, you know,
that's that's exactly, That's exactly what made it so good?
A man? Yeah, but but no, no, that was actually
vegeta No, no, that was that was the second voice actor.
It's still more like, uh because because he had that
(01:18:44):
sinister voice that was like kind of a high pitched
and nasally you know, it was it's kind of like that.
It was.
Speaker 3 (01:18:51):
It's so good.
Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
I loved it, man. I'm anyways anyways, So tell you
I earned my licks. I earned I earned it being
able to watch dB because I was one of the ogs.
You're welcome the rest of the anime community for making
Dragon Ball a success single handedly. Uh and uh and
(01:19:14):
therefore making any possible in the rest of the United
States did it? If not for Dragon Ball, all you'd
have to watch is Gotcha Man and speed Racer the
yeah that came first. So yeah, yeah, okay, fair enough.
Speaker 3 (01:19:34):
Samurai Pizza Cat I okay, that's the thing.
Speaker 2 (01:19:38):
I still haven't I don't think. I don't think we're
Samuri Pizza Cat. No nos. And it feels like Samurai
Pizza Cats is like a spoof of like Ninja Turtles.
But I'm guessing pizza absolutely yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
Well maybe maybe the well, so you know what, we
know what the story if the Samurai Pizza Cat was right,
Samar Pizza Cat. They the show didn't do too well
in Japan, so then I think sab It sabb It
bought Saban Sabbat. No, Sabbat is the name of a
voice actor, but you're thinking of Saban who bought it. Yeah,
(01:20:17):
and then they're just and then there original because you know,
remember this is like back then when like anime wasn't
like really baked. Yah. Yeah, and then they were just like, yeah,
just do whatever you want with it. A right, the
show didn't do well in Japan anyway, so we don't care.
So then they just cut and slice, they did whatever
the heck they wanted.
Speaker 2 (01:20:38):
Oh, it was notorious for this. This is how we
got Power Rangers, by the way, Yeah, I think this
is They were planning on probably doing something similar with
the VR Troopers also, yeah, you guys remember VR Troopers?
Probably not. Does anybody else remember watching tattooed teenage alien
fighters from Beverly Hills back in the day beatle Bot
(01:20:59):
Oh beats, yes, big bad beatle borgs. Oh I watched
the heck out of that. Man. Oh yeah, I could
talk about this all day. Uh but no, no, tattooed
teenage alien fighters from Beverly Hills. I used to watch
like it's just it was on on the random ass channel.
I can't remember what it was because I was too
young to remember or care, but it would. I would
wake up at like four thirty in the morning on
(01:21:21):
just random days and I just get out of bed,
flip on the tube and it would randomly be playing
somewhere and I remember it, and I'm like, decades later,
I'm like, is this some sort of like fever dream
that I had as a child? Did this is this
real life?
Speaker 3 (01:21:42):
It was?
Speaker 2 (01:21:43):
It was real it I like I was watching it
was to bring a full circle. I was watching Team
four Stars A Dragon boz A Bridged and Gohan's character. Okay,
so so this was happening. When Vegeta's and say who
are the GENU Fighters? He's like, well, have you ever
(01:22:03):
seen you know this show?
Speaker 3 (01:22:06):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:22:06):
Have you seen this show? You No? Might have more
from Power Rangers, No, dnage dottoo alien fighters from Beverly Hills.
Oh yeah, God damn it. So so I saw that
was like something you know, exploded in my head and
now here we are.
Speaker 3 (01:22:26):
And I want to hear it from the audience too.
If you're watching this right now, tell us about your
you know, what's that? A fever dream situation? Like you
saw something as the kid you viviically remember seeing something,
but you have no idea what that thing is called,
and it bothers you and you don't even know how
to search it up.
Speaker 2 (01:22:46):
Oh my god, I have an I actually have one,
you know what I'm talking about right Like, it's like, oh,
I watched this thing.
Speaker 3 (01:22:52):
I can describe it, but I have no idea what
it's called, and I'm not even sure if it was real.
Speaker 2 (01:22:58):
There's actually a video game that I remember playing on
a PC back in the day. I want to say
it was kind of like Adventures of Lolo in a way.
I remember that it was like you is kind of
top down, you move up, down, left, right, you push blocks,
kind of like Adventures of Lolou. But there was like
little skeleton guys in it, and then you're trying to
(01:23:18):
like not be killed by them. And that's about all
I remember. But I feel like it was kind of
dark and kind of cool, and I can't I cannot
remember what if it just was adventure, but it was
on PC. It was like a nineteen ninety five Windows
Windows ninety five. I what if. I don't know, And
(01:23:39):
I feel like there was some some Socoballon style puzzle
block pushing kind of elements to it like Lolo, but
it's not Lolo, and I don't know why. It's the
the dumbest thing. I cannot.
Speaker 3 (01:23:56):
If with chat to tell us that or it's just
gonnae we can wright comment. Oh, by the way, it's this,
I hope.
Speaker 2 (01:24:02):
So, man, I've been I've been trying to remember what
and I've been like looking on various like collections of
nineties Windows games for the longest time, trying to find something. Nothing, nothing, man.
Speaker 3 (01:24:17):
And it's.
Speaker 2 (01:24:19):
It's the worst feeling it, It really is. Man.
Speaker 3 (01:24:23):
Maybe it just never got like preserved either, probably not
saying yeah that that is so depressing. It's like that
game will just lift in your memories forever now.
Speaker 2 (01:24:34):
But I know tip of my joystick. I'm born too.
I've checked there no no joy Sadly they got nothing
for me there.
Speaker 3 (01:24:44):
So anyway, well, we'll see if we'll see if the
audience pull through and say something to us in the
comments section, and that basically wraps it up, sir, all right, guys, commons,
we've got today. Wow.
Speaker 2 (01:25:00):
We were done with the show like a half hour ago,
but we really stretched that out.
Speaker 3 (01:25:04):
You know. Derek and I were like, oh, this is
gonna be a short show today. We're oh man, it's
always guys hang out with you, sir, and always the
pleasure hanging out with all the folks here. I do
want to say thank you to all the people who
come to you and watch the show today, all like
twenty odd one of you.
Speaker 2 (01:25:24):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (01:25:25):
We guess like kind of like out of schedule and
we're just like, yeah, here, just write something in Twitter,
and then you guys just like showed up. So thank
you for coming by on a Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (01:25:36):
Heck, yes, you guys rock. Thank you so much. If
you enjoyed today's show, drop it a like we really
appreciate it. And whatever platform you are on. Oh by
the way, here here's a question for chat, very important one. Okay,
this was posed to me in the comments section of
a previous episode. Somebody really out there really joys listening
(01:26:00):
to the audio version of the podcast. But they say
that because I just have auto ads flipped on, because
I cannot be bothered to like manually just add you know,
an AD here and there. So I'm just like, oh yeah,
uh ad revenue, take the wheel whatever, we'll see what happens.
Somebody's like, this is like killing my my audio listening experience,
and they asked if there's a way to like support
(01:26:22):
on Patreon, and I'm like, well, here, here's here's why
we haven't yet because I don't want to like put
up an AD pre version on my Patreon because Baku
and I split the revenue of this show like fifty
to fifty, so like figuring out who's signed up for
the Patreon just to get the AD revenue is like
(01:26:44):
such a pain, so crazy, and I don't want to
set up a separate Patreon for like a what five
bucks a year, a dollar a month. I don't like,
I don't want to like put a price on it.
So tell you what, Uh, you could hypothetically just use
(01:27:04):
a YouTube video downloader of some sort uh to I mean,
I'm well, I mean YouTube would not approve of me
saying anything of the sort, okay, just so you know,
I would never you know what, In fact, I would
never endorse anybody to use any of those third party
downloading softwarees in order to download an episode of the
YouTube video that I that I'm live streaming right now.
(01:27:28):
But if somebody did that, you know, I would probably
find it in my heart to forgive them. Just throwing
that out there, you know. But if anybody, if anybody
out there, would like some sort of Patreon thing for
maybe some other additional benefits that we don't know about,
let us know what you would want in a Patreon
(01:27:50):
of some sort, because we have no idea.
Speaker 3 (01:27:55):
What you would possibly worduced with not a lot to offer,
I don't know if I'm going to ask you for money,
what can I give you? That's exactly I want to
make sure I give you something to make it worth
your time if you guys really want that sort of thing.
But in the meantime, yeah, thank you so much for
joining us today, and I'll see you guys in the
next episode whenever that is.
Speaker 2 (01:28:16):
Hopefully it'll be Sunday. Yes it will be, because I
do this show every Sunday, every Sunday, and now every Tuesday.
Bye everybody.
Speaker 3 (01:29:18):
