Speaker 1 (00:03):
But things stay.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Hey, everybody, Welcome back to hit Point and JRPG News Show,
an anime new show, a niche news show, a show
where Baku and I will be talking about everything and
anything that catches our interest and or ire. We stream
live every single Sunday at seven pm Central eight pm
Eastern Time. Will be previewing trailers talking about a bunch
of upcoming RPGs that were announced over at the Sony

(01:34):
State of Play. We'll be responding to any super chats
that we get at the end of the evening. And uh,
I think that about covers it. Actually, you did it.
That's that's what we're doing today. H and Baku, how
are you doing today? Man?

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Ah, splendid. I am doing splendidly other than having to
write an essay and finish by midnight, splendid maybe two hours.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
I can crank it down two hours. Yeah, I mean
you've started it already, right, Well, yeah, we're gonna have
a short show tonight. They ended.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
No, I can do it in two hours. I just
I just need to strap down and go.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Writing the docket today takes longer than writing that essay
because we had a State of Played and that was
the whole like forty minutes that to sit down and
like watch the thing and YadA YadA. But you know what,
I went through it. It was pretty cool. We'll talk
more about it, yeah, you know, later in the show.

(02:43):
But yeah, how are things with you?

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Oh man, It's been a pretty crazy week between you know,
stuff at work, but also also did you know that
I put out a Valentine's Day video this this week?
No way you put Valentine Is they video? Wait for yes, Yes,
I put out a Valentine's Day video. It was an
unboxing of well, it was an unboxing and also just

(03:07):
like a brief like thousand foot view overview of the
Trails Through Daybreak games. Uh so, primarily though in coinciding
with the release of Trails Through Daybreak on Valentine's Day
this year, I kind of leaned into the whole shtick,

(03:28):
the whole gag, the whole the whole joke that kind
of you know, says itself. You know, why did NISA
release Trails Through Daybreak two on Valentine's Day? It's a
public service to make sure that you know, jus Bondo's
and wife who's can have their time with with the
Trails fans, you know that that obviously, you know you know, yeah,

(03:52):
that's all. That's that's really all. So so if you
ever wanted to see an unboxing that also is just laiden,
just full to with all kinds of innuendo and sex jokes,
then then go watch that, because that's kind of like
all it is. And it's it's kind of funny because

(04:13):
like I just like, yeah, I'll just I'll just like
lean into it. I'll wear my you know, little trails
garb and and you know, wax intellectual while pretending to
drink wine or something, and it's you know what, though,
It's it's funny because like, you know, it's it's one

(04:34):
of those things where I like, it's not a I
got a comment when someone said something like, oh, this
was an excellent review. I'm like, I didn't say anything
about whether it was dood or not, but I appreciate
the thought. I think that they just viewing of the
of the unboxing of Daybreak. Oh yeah, I guess a
review of the contents of the Okay review. All right,

(04:57):
Well that's that's for the better then, yeah, because I
was just like, wow, my job as a game reviewer
could be so much easier if I just start putting
dick and fart jokes in all my videos. Maybe that's
what the people want.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
You know, those things are more popular back in like
the nineties and the eighties, and hey, these things are cyclical, right,
so maybe jokes are back, right, I don't know, let's
bring them back. Yeah, that's not dude.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
I'm not gonna be happy until I am slimed on
Nickelodeon with the Green Slime specifically. Okay, guys, Hey, did
you know that Sony State of Play happened? Oh? My god? Yeah,
can you believe that? Can you believe? I actually I
did watch it. I actually watched it. It happened when

(05:48):
I was at one, but I was it was in
between a couple of things, and I was just like, oh, yeah,
I guess the State of Play is today. So I
clicked into it. I had kind of clicked at just
the right time to be able to like, there was
like a half hour of stuff that had already happened waiting, uh,
and and I had enough time that, like, I could

(06:10):
skip all the stuff I didn't really care about. And
then by the time that I was out of skipping stuff,
it was like the last the last game, which is
perfect because because nobody should have to sit through the
whole state of play. Uh, no one should, but some
people do. Some people have to like Baku, thank you
for your service, Baku, I appreciate your sacrifice. Uh. Okay,

(06:34):
I won't lie.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
I have skipped some stuff, right because as soon as
I hear gunshots, I'm like, oh, that's a good game.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
But skip skip skip skip skip. Oh, man, but what
about all the Uh, Actually, there's gonna be some people
who are there's gonna be some people who are disappointed.
We're probably I don't think we're gonna be talking about
the new border Lands. There are some people who think
Borderlands are RPGs.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
I don't, No, it's it has they are the element
if they are RPGs.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Uh, they're not the kind that I give a about.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
So, but that said, yeah, I only care because people
care kind of deal.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
You know. Yeah. Yeah, it's like it's a good franchise,
that's nice and they're doing the right things. Good for them.
I'm glad for them. Yeah, I'm glad for them.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Yeah, you go, you go, border Lily. It's like it's
like a superb Owl, you know, like last Sunday. Yes,
it's a glorious event. It's sports right, yes, go go team. Yeah,
I'm rooting for your sportsmanship. It's so good, you know.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
And I do really appreciate, by the way, the fact
that even though our last video went out during the
Super Bowl, it did gradually climb up and views throughout
the week. And we really appreciate that guy's because seriously,
not only is that game looking incredible, but the interview
itself that we had with with Elman was just so

(08:13):
much fun and and so in depth. You had. You
had a real like out of nowhere swipe from the left,
emotional gut punch of a question, like I didn't know
where it was coming from, but by the end of it,
I was just like, well, anyway, so how about those

(08:35):
those quests and stuff. I'm sorry to throw you off, man,
I I didn't. I didn't know that it's gonna throw
you Oh I next time? Oh no, no, well it's
it's that's okay. I didn't. I mean, I don't think
either of us knew we were gonna go to him
talking about his mother like that was Yeah. So anyways,

(08:59):
for those of you who who haven't who haven't seen
or listened to that interview. Go check it out because
it it's pretty pretty deep, and I think, uh that
as far as the game goes, oh man, there's there.
Oh yeah, it's that.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
There's some comments that that we're going to read later
in the show from last week, and a lot of
people had a lot of comments about God Short Chronicles.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
So let's let's save that for later.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
We can we can geek out a little bit later.
Let's start with the State of Play. Okay, all right,
Baku take the wheel. All right, Well, let's talk about
upcoming releases first, but this is also featured in the
State of Play, so we're gonna start there. Uh, the
Stair Play. It actually happened on the twelve, just two
days before Valentine's Day, and the first game they we're

(09:54):
going to talk about from the State of Play actually
comes out this week. And you know what, Derek, A
lot of people have asked me what is my most
anticipated game of twenty twenty five, And I didn't really
have an answer to them because I'm like, man, that's
a lot of games I can't just like on the
spot give you an answer. But I think I know
what it is now.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Yeah, I think you probably do. Yeah, I know, I
think I know what it is? Now should we answer
that by playing the trailer of it first? Let's do
it all right, let's check this out. Yeah, in the
suspense Baku's most anticipated game of twenty twenty five. No
one surprising no one at least, I hope. By the way, everybody,

(10:38):
we are doing some slightly different things here. How we're
capturing the audio from the from the trailer. So if
it's too loud or too quiet, please let us know, yes, please? Oooh,
I had no clue. Who was I? I think I'm

(11:01):
probably This is kind of gruesome English. Well, he is
in Hawaii, so he's required English to speak English. Now,
I'm not used to the English. But for for all
of you, I will suffer the dumb. Not that the
dup is bad, is quite good. Actually, okay, I'll turn

(11:23):
it up there, dude. Oh that's Matthew Mercer's voice actor there.
School You know that you'll see when you're older. Stuff
you got about now? Is the volume better? Yeah? I
turned it up a smidge there, But I want to
make sure we don't drown ourselves out. Needs a little

(11:45):
more boostings. Ago A boatload of treasure a billion dollars
worth and the atoll. I appreciate the feedback there, guys.
So yeah, this game in particular can't be sitting idle.
Look absolutely phenomenal. So I'm playing this day one. Just

(12:06):
are you do? You have to half a smidge? You
got it all right, half a smidge dispensed right there,
under watch. Just keep letting us know. Let me pay
this clown back for the Nike gave you. No matter
who I am, where I come from. Cool, he's running

(12:29):
away from the giant Indiana Jones metal ball.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Yeah wow, okay, alright, So for those unaware, Like a
Dragon Pirates Yakuza in Hawaii, which is the full title
of this game, takes place just after the events of
Like a Dragon Ight and will follow Majima as the
pro antagonists, and the spin off will return to fully
action gameplay and like uh unlike the now mainline Like

(12:57):
a Dragon games that's turn based and more like like
a Dragon Guiden game with Kidi. So we're back to
action gameplay baby.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Oh yeah yo. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
So this game is gonna come out on the twenty first,
so this week on PS four or five, Xbox One,
Xbox Series, and PC. If you are not sure about
if you like the action gameplay and you know what,
I've been playing like Dragons seven and eight, Turn Base,
I don't know about this action business. Well, the demo

(13:30):
is out, so you can try the demo and see
if you like, you know, the action gameplay. Yeah, I
like action and Turn Base and I love this series,
so whatever they throw at me, I'll play it. So yes,
this is in fact my most anticipated game of twenty
twenty five, and unfortunately not Daybreak two. I know it's

(13:53):
going to disappoint a lot of people. I'm sure when
did that demo come out? You know it's already out now, yeah, yeah,
but when did it? Like, is it hasn't been out
for like three weeks now or like just really s
no idea.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
I think it might have come out on the State
of Play. Oh okay, cool cool.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
Yeah, but it is out now, it at least should
be out now. That's that's what I've read.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Yeah, well so cool. So yeah, that's that's coming out
later this week. So that's that's pretty dang cool.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
And I won't be streaming that game day one that
I'm going to stream that game.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
I was going to go back to Metaphor.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
I was going to stream Metaphor, which is the game
that I started streaming back in December before I went
to Suvee East Asia.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
But yeah, no, yeah, I understand, and that's and that's
too bad. I mean, Metaphor is a is a wonderful game,
and I yeah, I think that was and I said
this last year it was my game of the year
and I'm going to play through it at some point
as well. Yes, I just have other stuff I gotta

(15:04):
do first too. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
Yeah, that's just I don't like people thinking that. I
don't think like Metaphor is good. I think Metaphor is
great and fact. Yeah, but you are stacking up against
like a dragon and game I guess like a dragon
from me.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Yeah, yeah, that's just not fair. It gets a pass.
I get it as Yeah. So let's go ahead and
start talking about some of the games that were newly
announced over at that Sony State of Play.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
Yeah, or at least we have some news to it.
Well yeah, I well this is I'll say this was
news to me. But I also don't really follow a
lot of stuff outside of the RPG sphere. So when
Shanoby The Art of Vengeance was shown off. I was, well,

(15:54):
almost was on the floor. Really, It's been almost fourteen
years into the last Shanobi title, and Sega gave us
the release date for Shinobi Art a Vengeance, and this
game is going to continue the series. Protagonists are continuing
following Joe Musashi.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
Yes, I just like how his name is Joe, who
came to find his own village burnt to the ground,
and we'll seek revenge on the perpetrators. So let's let's
pull up the trailer here because uh, because this is sick. Yeah, yes,

(16:32):
all right, they mode.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
I wasn't sure what I was looking at when I
was watching the state of play, I'm like, oh, that's
a pretty cool, you know, little action game.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
I wasn't expecting a Shinobi game in twenty five.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
Look at the hend drawn though, Yeah, okay, who needs
pixels at this point?

Speaker 2 (16:56):
I mean I still like them, Don't get me wrong,
I like pixels. This is a compelling alternative. Yes, it's
sure app Absolutely this thing looks gorgeous. Man, So we
knew that they're working on a Sunobi game some time

(17:17):
ago when Sega was like, Okay, we're gonna revive a
lot of ips just just wait, We're gonna revive a
ton of ip They talked about like crazy Taxi, they
talk about Shobi, they talk about funds like Sega iyeps
that they haven't made games for a long time.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
They're like, just wait, just wait, just give us a minute.
In due time, we will share with you what we've
been working on. U and one at a time. They
are slowly releasing these games and Shanoby, this is Shenoby's turn.
Sega's like, all right, here's Shinobi. You haven't had one
in fourteen years. You're welcome, all right, get this? What if?

Speaker 2 (17:53):
What if? And this is this is not gonna happen,
But just imagine for a minute that the Sega releases
some sort of let's call it a game pass for
Sega produced IPSU and it's available across multiple consoles, and

(18:14):
it's called the Sega dream Cast.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
I mean, you know what that sounds like to me though,
it sounds like, uh, I mean, this is a subscription
service kind of deal on top of subscription. And they
have stuff like that in Amazon, right, like if you
go to if you go to Amazon, you can actually
sign into other subscriptions through Amazon, like Prime, and then
you can go into it and get like crunchy row

(18:42):
in there, or I don't think it's unthinkable, lets say,
business move for Sega to do something like that. I
know you were trying to make the Dreamcast, but like, honestly,
well yeah, that's.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
What I'm saying. Like a lot of people want a
dreamcast too, But like, what what if what if it
was a casting service legitimately like a streaming service? I mean, sure,
maybe maybe they shouldn't yet because you know, I don't
I don't know if the infrastructure there is low latency
enough for that sort of thing. But like I mean,

(19:19):
if they if they have a lot of let's just
say they have so many ips to draw from. Oh
yeah that I could, I could say it, I could
see it happen. Anyways.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Anyways, Uh so you like it, you can buy it
on a discount, Yeah and so forever right, Hey, that'd
be nice.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Yeah, where are you going with that gun in your hands?

Speaker 3 (19:42):
So fact that his name is just by the way.
Uh So this game came on like nineteen eighty something
or oh the original seven Master System. Oh like this game?
Oh yeah, and like I was probably eighty something, and
I will share a little funny thing about that. You
know how Joey Saishi is Joe he Saische, the guy

(20:03):
who does like the Jibli music.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
They like the name Joe because there's actually a Japanese
first name Joe. So it's like it just feels like
it's a not Uh, it's easier.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
To just have like an English name in your name.
It's like it's kind of like the name Amy Amy
or Ami.

Speaker 3 (20:25):
Oh yeah, yeah like that, yeah, like that just like, oh, okay,
well we already have a name that sounds exactly the same,
spell a little different, but who cares, right, it sounds
exactly the same so phonetically, so yeah, let's just do that.
So that's why Josh is Joe Saishi, And that's why
they pick a name like Joe Musashi because literally Joe
is a name in Japanese.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Yeah, I know, And it's just funny because like, oh yeah,
just a Joe Schmoe. It's kind of funny.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
Yeah for people, I guess, for people who aren't aware,
I guess, like, you know, but Derek is cultured, that's right.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
I mean, I think my Valentine's Day video proved how
cultured I can be.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
Exremely cultured all right, speaking of cultured.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Well, hey, hold on, hold on, I gotta say, oh, right, right, right, right,
right right right to say, I'm trying to man that
this game's coming out three days after my birthday. And
for everybody who doesn't know when that is, that's August
twenty ninth is when this is coming out for all
modern platforms.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
There you go, Yeah, sorry, just throw that out there,
just throwing that out there at least yet, Baku, do
you know where my PO box can be found?

Speaker 2 (21:33):
Just kidding, just saying you have you only have six
months cultured? Wait no, speaking of a PO box, Uh,
we haven't. New Sonic game. Excellent, excellent segue, best segue ever.
Speaking of Segus also has wheels.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
Race cars because this is a Sonic racing game caused
raising cross worlds. Let's just look at I gotta I
have to talk about this because Sega pays the bills.
And you know, if we don't talk about it, Saig
Gottless is going to Lord Sigttless is going to uh,

(22:17):
they're not gonna like us. I think that I'm like
maybe required on some level to actually tell people that
we are, in fact not sponsored by sagatless and neither
are they paying our bills. That that's you guys.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
Ah, this is unfortunately, I have to admit one of
the one of the games that I ended up skipping
U when I saw it come up. Say just playing
it for you guys, because I have zero interest in
playing this game because I cherish my friendship with my friends.
But I'm just saying, I'm just there.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
For your friends, and you want an excuse to rint
yourself of your friends, this might be.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
A good one.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
But okay, you know what, just because we're talking about this,
let's talk a little bit about this. Well, this is
a little fun compared to Mario Kart because you go
into one of these races and what it what it
does is you go through a gate and it teleports
you to like a random stage. So you don't really

(23:25):
know what you're going to get. So, you know how,
like Mario Kart, you pick a you pick a track
and that's the track that you raised on.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
Uh huh, this is a little different.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
So three laps, laps two sends you somewhere else and
lapse three sends you back and then you finish the race.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
Well that's a gimmick.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
I guess, Yeah, I think it's fun. They're doing something different.
They're not just like, well, Mario did a racing game,
Let's do all racing game, even though I'm pretty sure
that's the intention. Nonetheless, I mean here's the part though.
I mean, if Sonic were to just get out of
the vehicle.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
Faster, the vehicle right around exactly, yeah, I'm like, why
is he never mind? Maybe he's just lazy. He's like,
I'm just gonna chill. I don't feel like running. Yeah, yeah,
that's the that's the thing. Also, Uh, I think I
think I just have to also say we have Mario

(24:33):
Kart at home, so uh yeah, that's that's That's my
main thought when I see this is like if I'm
if I show up to a friend's house and I'm like, yeah, hey, bro,
I brought I brought my cart Racer with me. Uh,

(24:55):
They'd be like, well, you know, wouldn't wouldn't you rather
just play Mario Kart and I on.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
You guys want to play something Sonic Sonic does what
Ted don't. Yeah, I mean, let's bring that back.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Yeah. Sure, it's got the blast processing because it runs
on something other than a Nintendo Switch. I guess it's uh. Well,
speaking of Nintendo switches actually currently being developed for all
modern platforms, so you could play this on the switch.
There is no release is it doing that without an SSD?

(25:34):
I thought it. I thought in order to switch between
like two concurrent worlds, you have to have an SSD
or something. That's what That's what my PlayStation five representative
told me when I bought a PlayStation five, when they
showed off the Ratchet and Clinton, only only an SSD
can change worlds. Like, did they really say that to you? No,

(25:56):
not to me, but but legitimately that was like the
selling point of like the place station five. Look we
have this Enva me drive installed, and look here's something
where we're showing off that could never have been done
on a on you know, a PlayStation four because the
hard drive technology just wasn't there. Blah blah blah blah blah.
I know, I know. So I'm like really really okay, okay,

(26:19):
sure sure? So anyways, yeah, speaking of digital, Oh, do
you want me to talk about this next one? Yeah? Okay,
all right, well that's the segue right there. I got
you did it, well done? Yeah, speaking of digital, Uh,
I actually had a slightly different way I wanted to
introduce this and uh, sorry to Squander. Sorry to Squander.

(26:44):
That excellent writing. You know, if you point it, if
you draw attention to the segue, it becomes even better.
Did you know that? I go for it? So, so
this next one is trailer that had the the whole
world for about thirty seconds collectively thinking, am I gonna

(27:08):
have to start caring about Digimon? Now let's check this out? Yeah?
Uh shoot, could you hit the play button the most?
Saying oh is it? Okay? There we go? There we go?
Oh no, non explosion. Oh no, not Bamco. But legitimately

(27:31):
that was the first thought as I was watching this
is like as soon as I was like, oh this
is interesting, this is like there's something here. Yeah, what
are you doing? This looks awesome Bamco? And then like,
oh my gosh, is this is this like Namco's persona?
Is this is this Namco doing like an Atlas the

(27:55):
dam doing it? Oh my instead of persona a monster?
Wait a minute, I know. I'm like, oh, this looks
pretty cool this, Oh man, look at this, and then
she says Digimon. I'm like, and here's where I go.

(28:17):
It is so cool. Wait, no, oh you lost me.
I mean it's so cool, it's so cool. No, no, no,
you lost me again on Digitmon And I look at that.
That's kind of in, that's kind of almost cool. It's
so conflicting, like do I I want it? I want

(28:40):
I want to like it, but also it looks I don't.
I don't have any nostalgia for Digitmon, and I'm sorry
that's that's on me. I don't have any nostalgia for it.
I don't really have any background for it. I never
watched the the y TV thing or kids TV on
Fox whatever, like I was. I was watching dragon Ball,

(29:02):
I was watching other stuff when this was on.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
And what Derek's trying to say is, what Derek's trying
to say is that he only watches the cool stuff,
that this nerdy digitimond stuff. I let me, let me
tell you give me the Spirit Bomb true story.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
No, actually I can't talk about that because I signed
an NDA, so never mind, I can't. I can't talk
about one. But I did. Actually I did turn down
recently a sponsorship for something that ties into an anime
that was pretty popular a while ago, and I'm just like,
it didn't it didn't. I never liked it. I never
got into it. I'm like, I don't think I want

(29:44):
to pretend to like this in order to like make
money or like try to like like even I'm sure
it would have been a fine sponsorship to have, but
like I don't. I don't. I don't tend to of
a damn right, Yeah I can't. I can't. Like I could.

(30:05):
I could probably try to fake it, but I'm not
an actor, and I feel really bad if it didn't
click with me, and and and then I was obligated
to like be like, oh yeah, guys, go check out
this game. So so anyways, I mean, look, it's one way.
It's one thing to act something out, but you have

(30:25):
to like write the script yourself. And that's the part
that's a little hard. You know.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
If someone wrote me something, yeah, I can just read
it and just pretend to be whatever, and that's fine.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
But like.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
It's hard to write about something and pretend to be
very passionate.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
That's a whole different thing. Now here's the thing. This game, though,
Digimon Time Stranger, Digimon's story Time Stranger. That trailer looked cool.
It looks it looked it looked so cool. Until the
digimon was on screen for me, and then I just lost.

(31:03):
And then it's just like okay, yeah, maybe not. Can
you pretend that they're just like personas? Like? Can you pretend?
I don't know? Can you pretend that bugs Bunny is
a persona just like I recognize it? If I try
hard enough, anything is possible. Well, okay, I will say
I could. I could make it work for for Kingdom Hearts.

(31:24):
Why why not? Did you mind? Huh? Oh? Kingdom Heart
doesn't work for me either, So does it know for me? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (31:30):
No, never, never. I can never have a Disney the
character in my RPG. And for me to pretend that
this is serious, I cannot.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
No.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
As soon as I see like Zimba, I'm like, yeah, no, goodbye,
or like Hercules, I'm like, I no, no.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
Whoa, I I'm sorry. Guys. It seems like Baku has
a just a little too much darkness in his heart,
too edgy for this guys. Oh my god, so we're
just not chuney enough. But anyways, this looks good and
this monster. This RPG Monster Teaming Elements game will have

(32:09):
you traveling between worlds to prevent reality from collapsing in
on itself. It's gonna be releasing some time in twenty
twenty five for PlayStation five, the Xbox series, and PCVA Steam.
And am I gonna have to care now about Digimon?

Speaker 3 (32:25):
That's maybe i'd heard us. No, I don't know you
guys care about digimont in a comments section below.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
Is that a good segue? I think that's a good
Segwe yeah, I think so, Yeah, go for it.

Speaker 3 (32:35):
Yeah, let us know because we are gonna read your
comments later on into shows. So don't think that we've
skipped your comments. We're just moving it to the latter
part of the show. We can just relax and recently
comments and just chat about it a little bit. Yeah,
but dude, like, and I'm gonna bring this up because
you know you didn't read my script. But dude, they
announced this thing eight years ago. Crazy, seriously, Yeah, I didn't.

(32:59):
I didn't read this, but I went off.

Speaker 2 (33:00):
Screen script write a script. Sorry, makuh I didn't realize
Baku spent like three hours writing this script instead of
an essay. And then and then Derek just like, yeah,
boring skipped.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
But that's the only thing to I'll bring up is
this this thing was announced originally.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
Eight years ago.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
Yeah, man, and then a bunch of delays happened, and
then they made Digitmon Survive. They put that on top
of this to give the team more time to work
on this. They've been working on this.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
For a while.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Wow, so add small weight to all this. But it
is though, digimond, so there is that.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
Yeah. Yeah. AnyWho, when is this coming out? Well? Yeah,
it's coming out in twenty twenty five. And we don't
really have an exact date though, so yeah, and I
already mentioned the consoles and everything, so I think we're
all of that aside.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
Yeah, on that that aside, let's talk about the next one,
which is all Lost Soul aside. And they covered this
game some time ago when Sony announced a bunch of
games as part of their like so they called it
the China Hero Project. But they basically invest and try

(34:15):
to provide resources to developed like individual game developers in China.
They try to like kickstart their you know, or maybe
not kickstart is the right word, but like maybe like
nurture the next generation if like game developers, but specifically
in China. Now, of all the games that were featured
back then, some of them have already been released, but

(34:36):
they're mostly like pixel Art, you know, granted beautiful looking.
This one is by far the most ambitious looking ambitious
in terms of the style and gameplay, and doesn't help
that it was started off as a solo developer project
by a developer named Young Bing. Now we're finally getting

(34:58):
a release date, which is cool. Yeah, so let's take
a look at this lost soul aside. Lets yeah, it
starts off as a solo death project. And now, I mean,
obviously he didn't it didn't. He was he didn't stay
solo deaf along.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
But still when when it first started, when we first
looked at it, it was all him a powerful There's definitely
something powerful about a solo developed game having such a
strong core. Is this really just but it's I mean, wow,

(35:44):
there's no I don't know how much of this what
it looked like before it was more than just a
solo project, but you can definitely tell that right now
it's probably expanded and let's say, if I can heck
a lot more polished, that's for sure. I don't think
that's a whole lot of change. The main character, I mean,
not asad from that just now, but like the main

(36:06):
character was like this guy, I mean this, we haven't
seen the girl before, we haven't seen this character before,
I haven't seen a lot of these other parts, just
the main guy. And it was like a very short
like demo thing, and people bought into it, so it's
kind of like a proof of concept. But he probably
wasn't I don't know, do you think he was anticipating

(36:28):
maybe this happening. Was this like a here's anyone could
because here's the thing, like and we talked about this
earlier too, But like I think gug Kong, the success
of Wu Kong has changed the way that investor looks
at the first player game development because back then, Uh,

(36:50):
if you if you want to look at countries.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
And game investments and stuff, let's talk about East Asia
because that's that's the part that I know.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
Well, uh then give me.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
You know, like Japan has always been about like you
know what what we know and love write uh jerrpgs
all those fun stuff.

Speaker 2 (37:08):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
Korea has a long history of making games, but they
make either competitive or like MMOs, like and and back
then they focused on MMOs and they made good money.
Like next on is mmo. Uh another company that made
like what is it called uh uh n C n

(37:29):
C soft. I think it's NSI soft.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
Uh like so and Blade and that's us. I didn't
think Stellar Blade too they made. I mean, that's not
an an MMO. But that's also Korean, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
That's us recent though, I mean historically yeah, yeah, historically yeah,
and historically China also worked on MMO. But then when
uh uh uh gens An Impact came out and obviously
that's a big deal. They made tons of money. So
then a lot of different companies try to follow suit
and do their own sort of open world uh gotcha thing,

(38:04):
which offlopped, like all.

Speaker 2 (38:05):
Of them flopped. Yeah, it's because they took the wrong message.
They're like, oh, Impact did really well. What if what
if we all made they What if we all did
a gotcha Twilight Prince or not not a gotcha Zelda
basically not twilet Princess?

Speaker 3 (38:23):
What was it Breath of the Wild? Yes, but we
made ours? Yeah, what if we made ours? But these
investment are all trends, right, And when they saw the
success of Wool Kong and Stella Blay, all of a
sudden they take notice and they're like, why are we
investing in Japan when we can just invest at home,

(38:47):
so they do. Yeah, right, uh, And I think Sony
this is one of the better things that Sony had did,
which they sort of like implanted themselves into the ecosystem
in China early.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
Oh yeah, this China Hero Project.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
I remember, so I think that's a good move as
opposed to Concord. They've blown that much money in this
not this game, but like in this effort, I think
they would have been paid back like tenfold by now.
So all that's to say, Number one does a lot
of investment effort in single player experience games in China now,

(39:25):
so expect to see more of these unless they start
flopping left and right, then you're gonna that will be
the end of that experiment.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
Number two. Yeah, single player games are not dead, surprise.
Will you look at that? Who what? I'm guessed? Don't
you have a phone? Oh? Eat those words.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
Anyways, this game is going to come out in May thirtieth,
so there is an actual release date, which is exciting.
May thirtieth releasing on PS five in PC. That's actually
the surprising part is that this is not a PlayStation exclusive.
It's actually available on PC.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
Nice.

Speaker 3 (40:07):
Uh yeah, and we'll see how it goes. I would
love to see more great first player games from places
other than you know, Japan and the collective West, like
there are other places with good stories to tell. And
by the West, I just mean like America. Like I
want to see more games from Europe too, in Australia,

(40:29):
oh man, other parts of the world, South America, please, like,
show me your talents and show me.

Speaker 2 (40:34):
Oh they are, they are working on it, but trust me,
I mean, and we'll talk soon.

Speaker 3 (40:41):
And when we hear about those guys, we'll be sure
to share some of the ones that we think are
really cool.

Speaker 2 (40:47):
Oh we didn't. Oh, actually, we won't talk about it
soon because you didn't include the trailer in this list,
the one of the one that they showed off of.
Oh wait, was it there? It might not have actually
at the state of play was dang it? I can't
remember the name right now. Uh thirty one, thirty three,

(41:10):
thirty three, Yeah, Expedition thirty three. They didn't show it there.
I thought they did, but I think I was wrong.
I was thinking of Yep, there was there was another
game that looked like it for a second that I.

Speaker 3 (41:23):
That I know was just a game that looked like
it for a split second based like a shooter game.

Speaker 2 (41:27):
Yeah, yeah, you're right. Well okay, well anyways, that game
is coming from Europe and that's gonna show us a
little bit of that story telling the action you're talking about.
But yeah, yeah, speaking of speaking of other wild stuff
capcom it's coming out swinging wildly this year because with

(41:47):
this highly anticipated Monster Hunter Wild's game, well, well we've
got a pretty brand new trailer here and uh and
the release date is the latest entry, so uh for
this latest intury rather, so let's check out Monster Hunter
Wilds trailer. It's uh, it's gonna be on your screen
here in a second. Look at that magic I've foretold that. Yeah,

(42:14):
I've been watching some people play, uh and stream the
beta version and has a lot of that's a lot
of flitches, but it is the beta. Yeah, you kind
of have to expect that. Yeah, so no one is
too mad at it, but they need it. They need

(42:35):
to fix those I mean that's texts. You send them
out and have people play test it and report all that.
Respect it. I'm respect it. It takes all It takes
a lot of guts actually to send a product out
and just let the world hack at it. Yeah, but honestly,
from a software developments standpoint, that's the best way to

(42:57):
test your products. To spend it out. The hardest steel
is forged in very hot fires. Right, Don't don't let
your ego trip you up. Don't be afraid of harsh comments.
Send it out to sit and send it out and
let people rip it apart, fix all the stuff to

(43:18):
perfect it, and then official who release it. Man, I
wish I could get more into the Monster Hunter games.
They just it's like they just feel disjointed to me
from the perspective of someone who enjoys a plot thread
that links a story together, that gives you a reason

(43:40):
to go and fight the monsters. Right.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
I think the newer games are better about it, a
lot better about it in terms of having.

Speaker 2 (43:49):
A coolisive story. Although because I've I've watched people scream
and play it, I don't play it myself, so secondhand
knowledge there. But yeah, I have seen more cohesion in
the story for sure, because yeah, if if the Monster
Hunter team tried their hand that at making a Monster

(44:10):
Hunter themed like souls like, oh man, that would be
you aredible? Oh yeah? Like? And what I mean by
that is you know, use some of the same combat mechanics,
the weightiness, maybe even some of like the just just
focus less on fighting the same damn monster seventy thousand

(44:32):
times in a row to get the materials that you
were looking for, and like, let me go on an
adventure like killing new stuff and like maybe these things
are the boss fight and maybe I can fight it
again if I really want to, you know, like in Souls.
But yeah, but like I just want more connective tissue

(44:54):
between the combat and less like I'm back at base now,
I'm fighting them on you know, I'm back at base
and I'm fighting a monster again. Yeah. I think they've
been trying to work on that for sure. Yeah, because
I don't think that I don't think that's a I mean,
there's a limitation because of the way the game is designed. Uh,

(45:17):
but they are working on it. Yeah, I'm sure. I
mean And and this is from like a purely like
outsider's perspective. I know that the Monster Hunter fans who
love Monster Hunter would be pissed if if they actually
didn't that, Uh, they'd be like, who, who the who
the are you making games for? I'm the core fan base,

(45:37):
make games for for me. But but that's that's what
I'm saying, is yeah, well that's cool. I want to
get in I want to get in the Monster Hunter,
but but I can't so make games for me.

Speaker 3 (45:49):
Well, I mean, so when you playing this game, like,
as you're going through the game, like there are stories
in between, like cut scenes and stories in between, the
sort of ties your expedition and your situation to the
monsters that you're fighting. So it's not like there's nothing.

Speaker 2 (46:07):
I know, it's just there, is there. It's the gameplay
loop specifically that I can't. I can't hack that, so
to speak, because I already I already I already play thousand,
well not thousand, hundred, one hundred hour RPGs, And I'm
not gonna be the kind of guy who just puts in,

(46:29):
you know, two three hundred hours into a game that
that has me doing the same thing over and over,
even or maybe even especially if that has to involve
somebody else assisting me in that hundred stories. But yeah,

(46:50):
I WI was gonna say that.

Speaker 3 (46:51):
But you know, Derek's also looking for maybe an action
experience more like, so yeah, so yeah, like what he's
looking for is not quite doesn't quit exist. It's somewhere
in between Monts Hunter story.

Speaker 2 (47:03):
I mean it, if it did exist, it's probably made
by from software. So it's fine. Yeah, they do have
that uh hole on that whole thing. Yeah, they've got
a pretty good grasp on that situation, that's for sure.

Speaker 3 (47:18):
Yeah, many who you know, So I will say this too,
Mansa Hunter is not really a game for me. Uh Personally,
I respect it.

Speaker 2 (47:27):
I respect the hell out of it.

Speaker 3 (47:29):
But I watch people play all the time, Like there's
a lot of there's a lot of games that I
don't play myself, but I like watching people enjoy the game,
and I for whatever reason, it's I know, it's weird,
like why would you watch a game that you don't
want to play. It's precisely because I don't really play.
I just want to watch people play it. I know,
I know, I'm weird, but I do like the series,

(47:53):
and a lot of you guys do too. So that's
why we want to make sure we're talking about this.
So when is this coming out, sir?

Speaker 2 (48:01):
I don't know. It's coming out on the twenty eighth
of November here in just a couple of weeks, actually
a couple next week. A couple of weeks because today's
the sixteenth, twenty so okay, so two weeks from now,
yeah about I mean it's it's coming out on the
twenty eighth, so yeah, so that's almost two weeks away,

(48:26):
coming to playlaystation five, Xbox Series and pcv esteam. Lots
of cross play, definitely. Somebody in Chad asked me if
I would actually play it if it did do exactly
as I said, and I think I would actually probably probably.
I mean, I like, I have lots of aspirations, let's
be honest, but I think I would be more likely

(48:49):
to try a Monster Hunter style game, or rather sorry,
a Soul's like game made by a Monster Hunter team
with Monster Hunter like a world and and mechanics and stuff,
if it had a different gameplay loop, I would probably
be more inclined to play that than say, elden Ring

(49:11):
or a new Dark Souls game. I enjoyed Dark Souls,
want to but right, yeah, I just I want to
explore the world, and I want to do it in
kind of a more I don't know how. I don't
know how I would go about it, and really, you know,
would be sweet is if there was some sort of
crossover game between Monster Hunter and like Get Get the

(49:35):
guy behind Dark Souls to like collaborate and yeah, I
think that'd be sick.

Speaker 3 (49:43):
Cap Con and Bamco huh. I mean it's not like
they've never call out before in their fighting games. They Capcox,
that's literal bam comes Yeah, cam uh, cap CapCo, CapCo?

(50:03):
All right, Well you know what, Capcom didn't just you know,
swing wildly with one single game. No, they they came
out with a couple. This next one is also Capcom.
It's part of the efforts to remaster games from modern platform.
Capcon announced that they will be remastering only Busha to

(50:23):
Samuraize Destiny. Now that's not exactly news because they had
talked about that two weeks ago. But what is new
is a trailer. Because they never showed us what it
was going to look like until now it's.

Speaker 2 (50:34):
All right, let's check it out. Yeah, it's someone else.
I will say that on two is the the one
that I thought was the was the weakest of the

(50:58):
series personally. Well, I'm not sure why they choose to
remaster this one. It's because they already did the first one.
Oh is that why I didn't even know if they remastered.
Oh yeah, it's been like five years. But yeah, they
remastered only Wisha one already, So then do only Musha
two and then three? Maybe I forgive you? And then

(51:18):
Musha Tactics. Oh pretty stuck. Did you not play only
Wish Tactics or didn't like it? Or did? Oh?

Speaker 1 (51:28):
Was it?

Speaker 2 (51:29):
It looked cool? I liked the mixel art and I
wanted to try it, But I mean, what was another
game that I really wanted to love it and it
was just extra clunky? Uh? Maybe Captain should just not
do tactics games. Valkyrie Profile, the Valkyrie Profile typic game.

(51:50):
Oh huh, it's so clunky. Speak it in Tactics was
also pretty clunky. But that's okay, boy, game that is
like slow and methodical already. You can make it slower.
So this game, like, it's cool. I I liked. I

(52:11):
liked Onusha too. It felt less less clunky than the
original Musha. It felt a little more faster paced, not
a whole lot more. It's still tank controls, I think,
but but it's still Oh man, I will say though,

(52:31):
as far as remasters go, that still looks like a
PlayStation two get totally. It's very faithful. Oh look at
these got like extra nipple decals on his armor. That's cool. Yeah,
that's the I like how somebody actually draw attention. Do
you ever noticed that some some actual real armors have

(52:52):
like nipples built into them, And it's like, man, they
really wanted to draw attention to that.

Speaker 3 (52:58):
Huh, I mean distract enemies in the battlefield, demons?

Speaker 2 (53:03):
Why don't they do it? The women? Why doesn't she
have uh, you know that kind of that would be
especially distracted. She's not supposed to draw attention. Oh, you're right,
you're right, yes, gosh, Derek, I thought we were just
going for historical accuracy as all. Yeah, I'm sure that's

(53:25):
what I'm just saying. It would be, it would be.
I mean, we have seen the various other, uh documentary
video games based on Samurais fighting zombies, right, do you
not remember? Oh yeah, let's just say. Let's just say

(53:46):
edo Peria, Japan had a zombie problem. Is that too
much to say? Is that too much? I don't want
to I don't want to like draw any lots of
people are saying it. Believe me, they had the best zombies,
the best, the best zombies. Yep.

Speaker 3 (54:07):
Anyways, I think I think folks from outside of the
States don't know what they're going for. They may not
be exposed enough.

Speaker 2 (54:19):
I'm just saying Facebook doesn't fact check anything anymore. So
I'm just saying that the Edo period Japan had a
lot of zombies, and it was it was a very
sad state of affairs. Yes, and then you know, it's
all right, it's all right, let's let's move forward. Oh,
by the way, this game is coming out in May

(54:40):
twenty third. It will be released on Interestingly, this is
actually interesting. They're releasing on PS four, Xbox one, Switch,
and PC, but PS five and Xbox series are missing.
I'm like, why, well, I mean they're not. Again, I
think this is similar to a discussion we had not
too long ago, and I think it's because you don't

(55:03):
have to have a PS five native version. It's PS four,
is it's backwards compatible.

Speaker 3 (55:09):
I keep forgetting. I keep forgetting that you can play
a PS four digital game on PS five.

Speaker 2 (55:15):
And yeah, and and and honestly, like the PS four
could do it in four K. Anyway, it's a PS
two remaster, so you really don't need like, like, what
what would a native PS five version do? Not a
whole lot, but maybe increase the number of like variants
that you have to produce in order to, like if

(55:35):
you did do a physical release. So yeah, like some
people would probably want a PS five version, but I
I don't.

Speaker 3 (55:43):
Completely forgot about that. Yeah, why yeah, so I think
that's it. Yeah, So to further prove what a disaster
Edo period Japan was, Ondi Musha fans have, well, another game,
another documentary in this series to look forward to, because
we have a new trailer now for the only Musha

(56:05):
reboot game that is coming out in twenty twenty six,
and ed is called One Musha Way of the Sword.
So uh, we know so far that the game will
take place in Kyoto during the Edo period, ah, where
the protagonist will be fighting against hordes of monsters and
zombies known as genma.

Speaker 2 (56:27):
Yeah, so zombies they're well, I mean, okay, zombie tomato
Genma tomato. We want to play technicalities. They're let's just say,
I mean they're both they're both fruits. They're both within
in the on the food umbrella pyramid. Rather sorry, I

(56:49):
had to use the exact terms. Accuracy matters, So let's
pull up the trailer for it. We're not on Facebook, Derek,
We're on YouTube. That also does not affect check what
you say. I actually haven't watched this.

Speaker 3 (57:07):
I saw the beginning, I knew what it was about.
I skipped it, so if I can watch it now, yeah.

Speaker 2 (57:12):
I I didn't skip it. But oh man, love the
sound design so far. Yep, of course there's there's zombie there.

(57:42):
It is zombie samuraized you know. Oh man, that's his
that's his side clops zombie one Moto Musashi. Wait, that's
that's Musashimi Moto. Did you did you not see the
Book of Five Rings? Guy? Yes, but he only has
one sword. No, he has two swords, the one that

(58:04):
one of them is in the one of them is show.
Let's go back quick. Okay, all right, I missed it
the oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah okay. So I know
that some some pedants out there will will use this

(58:26):
as an opportunity to say that Musashi muliam Odo never did,
in fact use two swords at the same time. He
just is famous for saying that he who falls in
battle with one sword left undrawn, is you know, squandering
his hisself. Basically it's losing, is you know, basically saying

(58:48):
don't fail without exhausting all of your options. That's the
point of what he's try to say.

Speaker 3 (58:52):
Not literally that he uses two swords and it was
the actually the only gun that he used.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
That's the other story. That's sure though. Yeah, historically inaccurate,
but still pretty dang cool. You know what I really do?
Way of the sword? They they they got the smugness
in him. I like it. Oh yeah, it is notoriously

(59:20):
very smug. Yes, mustache is notorious. No, no, listen to this.
Did you hear did you hear that? Go back? Go
back ten seconds. But he's talking to his Gauntlet. Listen,
I'm glad you're unharmed. Who what? What? Why did you

(59:43):
have a British accent? Why not? I guess it's probably
because to give him a Japanese accent would probably be
I don't know, No, because because the Gauntlets speaks in
consipen Ah that's that right? No, probably not no.

Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
I think British tends to be like proper and posh,
so in the Japanese version, the Gauntlet is probably speaking
in like Cago only like very polite and very proper.
Probably the translation to English is usually to find British
actors to.

Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
You, Do you feel like it was presenting sort of
like a digitized sounding voice or was that just kind
of like a resonance that that was coming through.

Speaker 3 (01:00:31):
Are you trying to throw some conspiracy theories in there
to say that this is actually some alien tech?

Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
Maybe maybe maybe I don't know, I could be mean
that were explained to British. I'm just saying aliens alien all.
I'm ancient ancient aliens. I'm not. I'm not making any

(01:00:57):
why sweeping statements about allis being a problem In Japan,
they didn't have a wall.

Speaker 3 (01:01:06):
Aliens and zombies, man like, they kind of come hand
in hand. Where do you think zombies came from?

Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
Was the day? Yeah? Yeah, I think you're right. I
think I think you nailed it. Yoh my god. Anyway,
this game is coming out sometime in twenty twenty six
for PlayStation five, the Xbox series, and to pcvs Team
as well. Man, that game is going to be so
much fun to watch somebody else play it, to somebody

(01:01:33):
else play I really like the only Musha series. I
I I'll think about it. It's technically it's a horror game,
so so maybe horror really, I mean horror it's got
roots in the Resident Evil. Yeah, and they rooted away
from all I mean, the reboot might might re embrace it.

(01:01:58):
I don't know. I mean, hey, Capcom's been doing some
really good horror stuff, haven't they. I mean, sure, it's
got some action, but I mean, yeah, how do you
do zombies without some horror elements? Right? Well, speaking of
games with strong roots, Konami's back. M can you believe it?

Speaker 3 (01:02:21):
After giving and speaking of horror games, speaking of all this,
after giving us the critically acclaims Silent Hill to the
next major title will be Meadow Gear, Solid Delta Sneak Eater.

Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
Oh my god, Konambia is so back right now.

Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
And I am cautiously optimistic right because sonn Hill two
did exceedingly well, exceeding anybody's expectations, even even exceeding the
developer's expectation of how well it did, how polished of
a game.

Speaker 2 (01:02:56):
It is.

Speaker 3 (01:02:58):
That they bounce back, well, they need to develop some
kind of trend, right, They need some kind of They
need to bring their reputation back. And one game isn't enough.
One game is could be just you know, what's the word,
It could just be uh. Oh I seeking for here. Yeah, sure, make.

Speaker 2 (01:03:29):
Yeah, it could just be it could just be like,
you know, you got lucky kind of deal, right, but yeah, yeah,
fluick there you go.

Speaker 3 (01:03:37):
That's the that's the word I was going for. Oh
so what could they be doing? Well, they did say
that they're going to do middle Gear. So if they
can do this, that will help establish this trust with
the gamers again and establish them as another great game
developer or game publisher rather uh you know that can

(01:04:00):
really hang with the boys again. So Metal Gear Solid
the other Snake Eater, which, for those who don't know,
is actually the remake of the two thousand and four
game Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater.

Speaker 2 (01:04:11):
So let's take a look at the trailer. All right,
let's check it out.

Speaker 3 (01:04:17):
Let's check out. Let's see what you can do Konami,
I mean pose uh postima. Uh metal Gear so I
think after after they only made one other Metal Gear game,
and that game was a oh yeah, it was like
an online multiplayer BS that they were trying to like

(01:04:39):
it was a fastardization. Yeah, like these real Metal Gear
that was it was.

Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
It phantom paint or no phantom that was right? Yeah, yes,
it was kind to do like a multiplayer thing. Yeah
was after I don't even I don't even know what
it's called because quite honestly, it's so horrendous that, oh look, yeah,
this guy's gonna die again by just turning off the system. Man,

(01:05:12):
you know, oh oh do you leave the system on?
But long enough that guy just dies on his own
from old age? Do you know that? What was that
the name of that game? Oh? Why do you come back?

Speaker 3 (01:05:27):
The sniper guy was a thick boss, The sniper guy
in this game. So, like you know how there are
these like really fun bosses that they put in that
have like interesting gameplay mechanics. The original gear on PlayStation
you have like psychomentis and then he's going to tell
you what saves you have in your memory card and
switching your controller, like those are the fun stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:05:48):
Yeah. Yeah. The sniper in uh Snake Eater.

Speaker 3 (01:05:52):
If you go into the battle and I forgot what
you do, but you wait it out, basically he just
dies of old age. You don't have to fight him,
but you could do it. You could fight the sniper
like survive is that what is called?

Speaker 2 (01:06:07):
That was what it was called? Wow? That is lately
Snake versus bomber Man what I know, right? What? But ye,
who knows? But yeah, it's Middle Year Sold Survive was
so bad we don't even remember what it was called.

Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
Yeah, I I have better of my memory for things
that are important.

Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
Speaking speaking of a fart in the wind, because because
that was there, it smelled bad and it was forgotten
quickly after.

Speaker 3 (01:06:38):
Like that other game from the Square innex that I'm
joining blanks on is their attempt to make a middle.

Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
Gear Babylon Fell.

Speaker 3 (01:06:49):
No, Babylon Fell is a fail, but no, they they
try to. They try to tie the uh, the Front
Mission universe into making this one. And it looked really
promising and it completely did not deliver, not even a
little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
I don't recall anywhere.

Speaker 3 (01:07:07):
Like the idea was great. They got the middle Gear
artists on board, you know, they hired him as a consultant.
He did a bunch of things for them. They'd want
to tie their Front Mission war into it. Maybe that
will help rebroot the Front Mission franchise. And everything sounded
so good and then the game came out and it
was a clunky mess that no one wanted to play

(01:07:28):
at all. It was rough, So yes, Snick Eater coming
out in August twenty eighth of this year on PlayStation five,
Xbox Series and pcvs Themes, So in a bunch of
ways to play, and I am really looking forward to
watching someone else play.

Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
You know, Man middle Gear SONGD Survive was hell. But
you know what else is hell? Tell me about it? Yes,
we are hell at Us. Us is hell. Few years
of delay, publisher Nacon and developer Rogue Factory have announced
that they have finally or will will finally be releasing

(01:08:08):
their third person action adventure game called Hell is Us
this year, with a release date. For those of you
who are unaware, former Idos Montreal director Jonathan Jacques Bellte
sorry something, Uh but it's French. I don't know. I

(01:08:29):
was gonna say, do you speak French? I speak alternative
French kind of French that I can't. Okay, stay on
YouTube anyways, Yeah, juquh Belltet probably something like that. Anyways.
With that, who was best known for his work on
Deis x Human Revolution and Deis x Mankind Divided is creative.

(01:08:51):
He's the creative director of Hell's Us And I think
this game looks pretty dang sick. Yeah, it explains why
that atmosphere, Like, I'm like, this is not directed by
like some nobody person like I looked into it. Oh
would you look at that? Anyways, let's take a look. Yeah,

(01:09:18):
so this is kind of like a post apocalyptic sci
fi but also like kind of o culty and exposes
the game of reality. Interesting. I have a thousand questions.
Very interesting? Why did you come back? I thought the

(01:09:38):
home I was born? Yeah, you got a wrong? Felt
the connection that like modern science stuff. But the guy
also fits his sword your next not a knife, a sword.
I mean that makes it an RPG, that makes an MPG,

(01:10:02):
and I'm sure there's it's going to be fishing too impossible.
It looks like something Kachina would do. Honestly, this looks
like a game that Coachina would make. Look at the sword, Yeah, swords,
that's pretty cool. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
So it's more or less an action opportunity with like
sci fi elements but also like horror elements. It's very
interesting mix of genre.

Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
Hell is us?

Speaker 3 (01:10:37):
Yeah, I am actually very interested in playing this one.

Speaker 2 (01:10:41):
I'm less interested in it personally, I mean for a
variety of reasons, including just an aversion to horror stuff
in general. But you know, For those of you who
do want to play it, you'll be able to do
so on the fourth of September this year on PlayStation five,
the X Book series, and PC games via Steam. That is, so,

(01:11:05):
that's pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (01:11:07):
Yeah, you know, no lies, no lives were told, just now,
No lies were told other than the fact that he
doesn't like horror.

Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
He loves horror guys. Oh, how dare you? He loves you?
All right?

Speaker 3 (01:11:22):
Yeah, so, speaking of low lies, I haven't had enough
LIESIP and wanted more.

Speaker 2 (01:11:27):
Well, you know, it's got you covered.

Speaker 3 (01:11:29):
They just announced a new prequel DLC expansion called Liza
p over Sure, and it actually looks really good. Let's
take a look real quick at this DLC expansion DLC
Slashes Expansion DLC.

Speaker 2 (01:11:43):
All right, let's check it out. Liza Overture, got it.
It's just like really well received, really well received for
a lot of different reasons. People really really enjoyed it. Yeah,
has an incredible uh ambiance and and what's that's the word?

(01:12:07):
Just the just the whole presentation of lies of e
and everything found within this trailer. The atmosphere is something else.
He dances, well, yeah, wouldn't you? You're not the puppet.

(01:12:28):
This is from a Korean developer which people may not
know about. It was just actually your Korea developed developed
the game. So it's a Korean action r PG or
or or carp G for cart Lost car copp G

(01:12:51):
carpe G for sure. Oh look at the omni slash.
I guess I guess that ties it in alongside like
Stellar Blade as being another carp G. Yeah. Absolutely career
mix up here, slash, look at it?

Speaker 3 (01:13:10):
Look at it, AMMI slash. If that's not only Slash,
I don't know what is? I mean, hey, if it works,
it works, man.

Speaker 2 (01:13:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:13:25):
So this is coming out this summer, releasing on all
supported platforms. You must have the base game to play
because this is not a stand alone game. This is
the expansion. Really good it does?

Speaker 2 (01:13:39):
It really does. I kind of want to get into
this one. I don't know, it makes me want to
play it. The fact that it's DLC, though, does preclude
it from being able to have its own midnight launch unfortunately,
which you might end up walking to if you were
going to, uh, you know, wait at outside of a
game stop or something. So if you're looking for another

(01:14:02):
way to get yourself a midnight walk, well, there's this
dark adventure game that we talked about sometime ago and
now we have a firm release date for it. And
it is called The Midnight Walk. Uh. And this is
made with real clay and it's animated in a stop
motion style. And oh man, this was a show stopper

(01:14:27):
for me. I don't I don't even know.

Speaker 3 (01:14:33):
It looks like Derek License kind of like art stuff.
So I'm like, you know what, Yes, it definitely gives.

Speaker 2 (01:14:39):
Me some of the Tim Burton feels, the Tim Burton
kind of clay mation feels. So let's check it out.
Any idea of he's actually involved in this, I mean,
I suppose the trailer would say the idea. I think
it's just inspired by It has to be inspired at
the least the burnt One woke from a deep I

(01:15:01):
think I will play this. Yeah, this has to be
an incredible like this. This has to be like a
look at look at him. That's definitely like the Mayor
straight out of the Air before Christmas, right, like inspired,

(01:15:21):
if not directly riffing so items Gordo Right, Yeah, this
would be a good Halloween lame. This would be so
great for Halloween. Now, I think if I'm not mistaken.
I think I might have seen that this is actually
going to be a v R game. It can be

(01:15:42):
a v R game. Yes, that's that's the way I'm
meant to praise that. You can't. I think it's coming. Yeah,
it's coming to ps five, so you can play it
on PSBR two and you can find PSBR three and
Steam or yeah Speed yep yep, yep, May eight yep, yep,
there are I would never I would never play this

(01:16:06):
in VR, though I would probably would you play in general? Yes,
that's that's sorry to step up. Yeah, I mean it's
it's looks spooky, but that's like I mean the honestly,
one of the main reasons one of the things that
stuck with me about the Kingdom Hearts games that I

(01:16:28):
loved so much from them was when you got to
go into the Nightmare before Christmas areas. Oh that was
so cool being able to like just see extras. I'm
a big Nightmare before Christmas. I mean, not that a
huge fan, but like, like, I enjoy it, and I

(01:16:49):
enjoyed more of it when I was able to get
it through those so so being able to play like
a whole game around, like that that whole vibe. Oh yeah,
just put me there, let me, let me live there.

Speaker 3 (01:17:02):
If only the rest of the games were more like
that instead of like, I don't know, Mulan or something.
Mulan was such a cool thing though, but it wasn't
very fun in Kingdom Hearts to be fair.

Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
Anyways. Uh. Yeah, so that's that's coming out PC and Steam,
or rather PC v Esteam in PS five and yes, yeah,
June June, was it? June? No?

Speaker 3 (01:17:28):
May fifth, May eight eight, Yeah, so not too far
from now. Actually, it's only a couple of months. Yeah,
a lot of time is flying, man, I know, it's
already February. It's already come. February is coming in February
is a short month, but it's already the middle of February.
Many Yeah, alright. This is going to be the last

(01:17:49):
game that we'll cover from the stony State of Play.

Speaker 2 (01:17:52):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:17:53):
This is probably the biggest new announcement from the State
of Play to me anyways. And I mean like new announcement,
not like things that they have already talked about before.

Speaker 2 (01:18:03):
This is brand new.

Speaker 3 (01:18:05):
Developer Eclipse Glow Games just announced their first major title,
a fantasy action adventure game, called Tides of Annihilation that
takes place in modern London with inspiration from Authorian Legend.
So let's take a look at that trailer and see
what I mean by I think this is like the

(01:18:26):
biggest thing you You.

Speaker 2 (01:18:28):
Actually provided two trailers, which do you want to watch?
Just take a look at the first one, okay, and
look at the announced trailer first. The other trailer.

Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
We can kind of skip around a bit, all right,
So we do have two trailers for you guys tonight.
This is the announcement trailer, which is going to give
you the general sense of what we're looking at. But
then they also release a game play trailer that is
a lot longer that we're not going to watch the
whole thing. It's like eleven minutes long, so you know,
but we'll included uh yeah, I should include it in.

Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
The descriptions that you know, what was so sorry, you know,
it's incredibly annoying as hell. What is it? Okay? I
don't I don't know if it's I don't think it's
a okay. So I was watching this live in real
time at this part at this point in the game,

(01:19:23):
and the trailer because it was one of the last
things and I had chat opened and that was a mistake.
Really where they getting super like, oh is this the
usual internet? This internet interneting? Yeah, they they saw they saw,

(01:19:44):
you know, a lady protagonist, and they're just instantly dismissing
the game. But like, what, dude, this looks sick. I mean,
if Stella Play teaches anything is that you can have
an amazing caringer as long as she's happy near Comeda
has toad anything. As long as as long as they're

(01:20:07):
mostly naked. Yeah, then you can get away with a lot.
You know, I won't argue that there is aesthetic points
at it to that perhaps, but doesn't make quite make
out the curvature. You can't make out the curvature of
her bottom when she's standing still. So therefore, therefore there's

(01:20:29):
clearly a liberal agenda at play in this game. No, yeah,
that's that's the kind of stuff. That's just like white
people got to be like that.

Speaker 3 (01:20:40):
When when the ladies are too hot, it is a
liberal agenda. When the ladies are not hot enough, it
is a liberal agenda. Everything is a liberal agenda. It's like,
oh my god, there are oh there there they're trying
to show off like women who are not attractive. Oh,

(01:21:00):
look at the same equal opportunity.

Speaker 2 (01:21:03):
Ah lit ross Listen, this game looks incredible, regardless does
the bad takes that we're showing up in YouTube chat
during the live stream. This looks so sick. Okay, let's
let's check out the let's check out the rest of
the game play. Let's look at a gameplay trailer. And
now I included this, so this is so, this is
actually I think this might I don't. Is this the

(01:21:25):
right one? It says demo announcement trailer, gameplay review. Oh
wait wait, oh yep, there we go. That's the right
one here on this one.

Speaker 3 (01:21:33):
Yes, yeah, So I included this because we've complained a
lot about trailers not including gameplay. Yes, well, Sarah, like,
you know what, here's a gameplay trailer. This, this whole
thing is just gameplay. So I don't want to hear it, right,
I'm like, uh huh, okay, I'm sorry, I'll back off.
And quite honestly, I think this is the way to.

Speaker 2 (01:21:56):
Go instead of doing one trailer, dude, too, one trailer
for all the cinematics all. It's that kind of like
the hype trailer. Yeah, the hype trailer and then give
us the gameplay trailer to give us, give us some
meat to Yeah, you got my attention, and now you
have Yeah, now that you have my attention, give me

(01:22:17):
something so I can actually get excited. Yes, like you
to get into two in one first, get me excited, second,
get me invested. M hm. So you're in charge of
skipping around here if you want to.

Speaker 3 (01:22:29):
But let's skip to like, well, we're doing to walk around,
so this is sort of like the walk around. Yeah,
that's fine, Like I just want to show you what
the world genuinely looks like. Yeah, but let's get to
the part where we're fighting things, because you know this
is a.

Speaker 2 (01:22:45):
Because that's where things started to kind of get a
little harder to follow, I thought, during combat, because they're
like quick, you know, quick cuts, quick zooms. You know.
Let's let's make it look like a Transformer movie. This
looks kind of see a lot of flow, a lot
of dashes. So this looks easy action RPG that is

(01:23:07):
not going to be I see there there's some kind
of lock on mechanic that's important. That's nice. Yeah, so
I'm going to guess this is not like a Soul's
kind of action but more near like, yeah, well this
is your own doing faster, less methodical. It looks like

(01:23:33):
there's some element of methodic to it, but it's definitely
not a slow and.

Speaker 3 (01:23:38):
Weighty it's like a spectrum, right, like you go from
one end to another, and everything lies in between this
and anything else is just unplayable, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:23:49):
Yeah, Like to me, I think Souls is about as
low as it gets. It is very weighty, and it
is very like it is realistic, and that's last one
hundred to I think falls into that category, or rather
Munster Hunter also falls into that category for me. And
then you have like the Near Things, which comes closer

(01:24:11):
to Hacken Slash because it's just so fast and you
can pick from damage and you're not going to be
punished for every mistake you make because it's stu fast,
you know, Honestly, with this speed, I feel like I've
talked about Kingdom Hearts a lot recently, but the flow
of this battle feels closer to that of maybe Kingdom

(01:24:33):
Hearts tish like before it got so so interrupted with
Kingdom Hearts three. Kingohearts three had a lot of interruptions
from summons and things that just which which is for
better or for worse? Right, Yeah, this one feels a

(01:24:56):
bit more like classic PlayStation two action RPG, Like there's
there's some dashing around, like dodge rolls and that kind
of warping around, but not like the kind of like
oh oh yeah, Harry, but I don't see a lot
of like oh, I hit this button and now I'm
flashing around this Well there's a little bit of blink
going on there. But yeah, but not as much like

(01:25:18):
with some of the more modern final fantasies that when
I look at it, it's just like hard to follow.
Like ott stands, you have little stands come out, Let's
do that? Yeah, night, Yeah, that was kind of neat.
You'll regret that. Wonder talks a lot. Yeah, but at

(01:25:43):
least it's not annoying banter that we know of, I mean,
not yet. I guess it probably gets worse after you've
tried fighting the boss seven eight, nine times. I zone.
I just like zoned them out, like I'm focused on
killing you. Oh yeah, it's already rolling off the back

(01:26:03):
of my head like I can't it's not sinking in.
Oh you're playing a Gwendolyn. I no, what comes cost
me a song, and this allegedly takes place in modern London. Yeah, well,

(01:26:29):
I mean they've taken some liberties.

Speaker 3 (01:26:32):
Well, it's modern London, and then something happened, and this
is what happened after that something happened.

Speaker 2 (01:26:39):
I'm curious what. Uh, I'm curious about what part of
modern London will be seen or how it interacts with
the story the game tells. Like why not just say, oh, yeah,
it's medieval London or whatever.

Speaker 3 (01:26:54):
Literally saw like like certain bald ridges and stuff like
modern big band in the background.

Speaker 2 (01:27:01):
But yeah, as a backdrop. But I'm like, what, what
narrative elopment makes that important to the story. Ah, I
mean could be like a world clashing situation, you could
be yeah, I mean I'm not I'm not asking for
answers right now. I'm just like, oh, this has ken
my curiosity finding out too. Yeah. Yeah, and then let's

(01:27:23):
there you go. That is Ties Up Annihilation. There is
no release time frame this yet, but it is currently
being developed a PS five, Xbox series and PC. From
from what I've seen it, I mean, who knows how
far in through development it is, but it already has
substantial amount of voice acting, and that's usually I feel

(01:27:45):
like it as far as development goes, that's one of
the latter things that they start adding in.

Speaker 3 (01:27:50):
So hmm, I don't know, sooner rather than later, which
I would welcome honestly.

Speaker 2 (01:27:57):
Yeah. So that wraps up the Sony state of play. Yes,
but we have some other things that were also announced
that we should probably also talk about, uh, including including uh,
this one. It's called ether Mancer ethermncer.

Speaker 1 (01:28:14):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:28:14):
It's a new monster taming rogue light from the makers
of Monster Sanctuary.

Speaker 1 (01:28:22):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:28:22):
Yeah, and I don't know anything about it. Actually, I've
never heard of it before, so any games, let's go,
let's check it out. Oh man, what m m. It's
got a little bit of that dolcord profile feel. It's

(01:28:42):
like the diamond panels of characters. Uh huh. I don't
know if that's how they they are played necessarily. Whoa
there is like this Like.

Speaker 3 (01:28:59):
I don't want to say a metric, but oh yeah
it is yeah kind of you Oh well you s
thought a battle. It's it's regardless of whatever.

Speaker 2 (01:29:13):
Name you want to throw on it. This is beautiful
pixel art. Holy cow. Y oh. You know earlier when
I said who needs pixels? Uh, I'm gonna I'm gonna
need a force to eat those words, because holy cow man. Oh,

(01:29:33):
pixel pixels aren't dead yet. No, they certainly aren't well
get it yet? Uh uh. Anyways, uh No, someone brought
this to my attention in my Discord. Starver and Darre like, oh, yeah,
check out this game. I was like, oh, snap, Like
I didn't see this in other publications. But no, you know, sometimes, guys,

(01:29:55):
I the unsung hero are people in my discord sometimes
because as much as I try to check all the
different publications and stuff, not all the publications captures indie games.
I mean, they capture all the major company releases, of course,
but some of these really nice looking indies they don't

(01:30:16):
necessarily cover it all the time, or not all of
them do, and you have to really go through distance
to even get a hold of this. I was so
entranced by the pixel art that I didn't even notice
the trailer had ended. Oh my god. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:30:37):
Unfortunately, there's no release time frame. Yeah, but this is
being developed for PC and the demo is available now
on Steam, so if you want to stare at the
pixel arts some more, you can just download a demo.

Speaker 2 (01:30:47):
Oh yeah, all right, wow, Oh that's super nice. Okay, okay, okay,
oh yeah when that well, that gets the that's against
the blood pumpin You just really like good pixel art? Huh.
I'm a bit of a pixel simp. Yes, is that

(01:31:11):
a thing? I see? I see good pixels and I'm
just like, yes, please and more. I mean good pixels.
I know. Unfortunately I already used up all my innuendo
in my Valentine's Day video. But that's I mean, I'm

(01:31:32):
gonna need to adjust my quota. That's hmm. You should
Valentine's Day next year. Let's let's make a.

Speaker 3 (01:31:41):
Date, right, Speaking of pixels. Next up, we've got another
pixel game. I wonder if this is would be to
your liking. This is a little different. It's a Hall
Life fan game again, and of course I would bring
this up this time. It is a high speed pixel
action game called and it's a long name, so bear

(01:32:02):
with me. Zero in on Hollow Earth Hollow Life Alternative.
Why does this have to be so freaking long? Why
does name have to be so long? It's from developer Peplosoft.

Speaker 2 (01:32:16):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:32:17):
That will feature She that Got Me as the protagonist.
The game will be voiced in Japanese. However, the interface
and subtitles will be available for English and Chinese if
you prefer to play in that. So let's take a
look at this trailer. See if the pixel art passes

(01:32:37):
Derek's filter.

Speaker 2 (01:32:38):
All right, well we'll see if it, you know, gets
the same kind of rise out of me. I think.

Speaker 3 (01:32:51):
This is the kind of game that like will blue
my thumb because it looks so freaking fast.

Speaker 2 (01:32:57):
Yeah, mega man, but a lot faster like making games
like those.

Speaker 3 (01:33:08):
Just the thumb destroyers. Yeah, thumb destroyers like super high speed,
no no.

Speaker 2 (01:33:15):
Room for air battles. I mean, the animation here looks good,
but I gotta I gotta hand it to the pixel
crew of the previous game.

Speaker 3 (01:33:24):
This it's nice, no competition, it's nice, but it's side.
It's not it's not getting your blood pumping.

Speaker 2 (01:33:35):
No, I mean not not in that same way. At
least it's it's definitely which way. I told you. I'm
out of innuendo for the day, so so yeah, let's
uh yeah, I will have to destroy my thumb over

(01:33:55):
this one. I have no choice. I am obligated to
play this on Steam on stream, So it looks like
that's just too much. I don't know, too much action
for for me, that's I'm better at the slow paced stuff. Man.
I'm like, I'm like an old dog. I see it.
I see a car go down the road, and I'm like, man,
if that car were just a little bit slower, I

(01:34:19):
could just next one is more to your liking because
it's a different style. But it's a style that I
think you would appreciate. All right, all right, uh so yeah, see,
maybe make sure I'm looking at the right thing. Here
we go. Okay, So developer Meteor Magic Games have announced
a new low poly Metroyvania action platform or called Aeromakina.

(01:34:45):
As you may have guessed from the low poly description,
this game was inspired by the PlayStation one era of games,
and we've got this trailer for it right here. Damn,
let's go. Let's let's go.

Speaker 3 (01:35:05):
Like if you told me this game came out in
like the PS one two era, I well, I like
two era, I would probably believe you.

Speaker 2 (01:35:14):
I am all for this resurgence of like the uh
low party tube era, low poly kind of era of games.
I mean, it's it's definitely way smoother than games from Yeah,
there's too many frames here, but yeah, but if you
can make that run at like fifteen per second. Yeah, yeah,

(01:35:36):
drop the frame rate on purpose. Although that doesn't look
very much like an RPG to me, mister Baku, it
still looks really cool.

Speaker 3 (01:35:46):
Yeah, I know this is this is definitely yeah's a
metro Vinia game. But I wanted to show it off
because I think it looks really cool and I think
people need to know about these games.

Speaker 2 (01:35:58):
Yeah, I I that's totally worth worth doing. Yeah. So
so that game, by the way, is uh, well, we
don't know when it's coming out. It is being developed
for PC as of right now, if it comes out
on other platforms. Whenever, Whenever I mentioned that, like an
indie is making a game for PC, and a lot
of people are like, oh, man, I hope it comes

(01:36:20):
to console or is it coming to console, the answer
is usually no because even getting like a dev kit,
a dev kit for Switch costs several thousand dollars I'm sure, uh,
and and that's money that most devs who are just
kind of playing it by ear and doing it with themselves.

(01:36:40):
You know, if unless you have like a really successful kickstarter,
it's really hard to even think about that stage. So oh,
if you're like a seasoned indie dev that like has
access to these somehow. Yeah, it's possible, but unlikely exactly. Yeah,
and apparently like you have to before you can even

(01:37:03):
release a game on Nintendo Switch, you have to have
previously released a game elsewhere. So yeah, first are not allowed. Yeah,
like I mean that you can technically, but you have
to be like an approved developer first.

Speaker 3 (01:37:19):
There's so many garbage game on the Switch. What is
going on Nintenda was like no quality control?

Speaker 2 (01:37:26):
Like the publishers have sort of a way around some
of that, I think, And so if you have someone
who's a little more nefarious of a publisher than you
can kind of side skirt some of that.

Speaker 3 (01:37:39):
But yeah, there was the game on the Switch, and
I kid you not because I was I was looking
up something for I'll tell you the story. I was
looking up something for a game that we talked about recently,
which was.

Speaker 2 (01:37:58):
Shoot what is it called?

Speaker 3 (01:38:00):
Uh Goblin Slayer? Remember how we talked about the Goblin
Slayer uh tactical RPG. Yes, Yeah, So I got a
key for it and someone had mentioned that there is
a DLC for it, so I looked online and I
couldn't find the DC. So I thought maybe the game
is so niche that the DLC is not, like news

(01:38:25):
is not available. So I tried looking into the switch
store directly because I got the game on the switch.
So I'm like, Okay, where's this DLC. And supposedly according
to trusted sources too, by the way, yeah, it was
supposed to be like a DLC for like a character
from the game. So I'm like, oh, I'm looking into it.

Speaker 2 (01:38:45):
I want to see from the anime et cetera.

Speaker 3 (01:38:48):
Yeah, anything. So I was looking in and I instead
what I couldn't find the DLC. But what I did
find in the switch store was a blatant Demon Slay
knockoff game that is basically like a lude puzzle solver.
I don't like, oh, there's a picture and then you

(01:39:09):
have to play these little games and then as you
play the game that the picture slowly reviews itself into
like a lude scene. Yeah, but it's like but but
you look at it, and I'm just like, this is
blatant copy of the Sword Maiden from Demon Slayer.

Speaker 2 (01:39:26):
I mean not Demon Slayer, Goblin Slayer.

Speaker 3 (01:39:28):
Yeah, and it is absolutely not like an official game
from you know, the the rights holder, which is things
kind of color. Yeah, So I'm like, really, the Nintendo
is allowing these kind of like garbage in there.

Speaker 2 (01:39:46):
What happened to the Nintendo quality like steep equality, Like
I know that you don't anymore, yeah, but like at
least some level of you know, I guess ever since
the wee days, they just like stop giving it dang right,
like they just don't care anymore. I think it went
away during Game game Cube era. Actually I think the Yeah,

(01:40:08):
I think that I could be mistaken, but I think
that the Seal of Quality has gone through a few
different iterations over time, and I think that at one
point it stopped even guaranteeing or ensuring the quality of games,
Like yeah, it was just eventually just the Nintendo Seal
of they paid us.

Speaker 3 (01:40:29):
Yeah yeah, I mean like, look, I I'm not looking
for them to be like a quality like police, but
come on, this is like a blatant, blatant like ip thieve. Yeah,
you're allowing them to post this game on your game store,
Like what does that say about you?

Speaker 2 (01:40:48):
Right? Like it says that they don't have very rigorous
review processes in place, when meanwhile, meanwhile, other indie developers
bringing us full circle, like just can't even can't even
break a game on there if they tried it, despite
like pouring their heart and soul into it for you
know however, No, that's the ridiculous part.

Speaker 3 (01:41:07):
Yeah right, yeah, anywhoh yeah, so sorry, it didn't mean
to get into it down or here, but just to
bring you guys awareness if you didn't know, like that
whole thing with Nintendo quality that's like not really a thing,
but it's they have the reputation still, well that reputation
doesn't really hold and it's disappointing.

Speaker 2 (01:41:29):
AnyWho.

Speaker 3 (01:41:30):
Here, this is the game that's not going to disappoint us, hopefully,
I think, because I I am super excited. This is
probably the most exciting thing to come out, even after
all those cool games we saw, right, we saw a
bunch of cool games, but this one is the thing
that excites me the most as far as like the
new announcements concern. And this last game here that we

(01:41:53):
have with the Evening is an ambitious indie title. It's
a three D action RPG title from of un developer
Assie Games. Yeah uh, that's set to be inspired by
traditional Bornian mythology. Bornian like do you know what do
you know? What Bournian is because I didn't from like Burma, No, no,

(01:42:19):
no where, No, I mean it's it's more near.

Speaker 2 (01:42:22):
It's kind of near that area.

Speaker 3 (01:42:24):
So tell you what, Why don't we take a look
at the trailer and I'll tell you a little bit
about what I learned.

Speaker 2 (01:42:30):
All right, Yeah, I have to research this one. The
game is called a Buddha Matto. Okay, I was gonna
say there's no audio, but I don't think they're supposed
to be yet.

Speaker 3 (01:42:41):
Oh there there will be audio. Yeah, yeah, so this
game looks really good. Uh so Ozzie, So just give
you guys some background. Ossie Games is a developer from Indonesia.
Oh and uh, Bonian mythology is actually referring.

Speaker 2 (01:43:04):
To the Borneo. Yeah yeah, I've heard of Borneo in passing,
but it's been ages, ages, ages. So this is based
on their local folklore, which I think is incredible. And
also it's got like instrumentations and you know music design

(01:43:25):
from like to local composition. Is that you said this
is an indie Yes, this is an indie title. They've
made a couple of games, but like nothing this ambitious.
This is byful the most ambitious title that they're taken on.
I researched the company a little bit. Yeah, that's that's

(01:43:48):
very pretty. Yeah, and yes it's got some of that
breaf for a while kind of look I mean, yeah,
but cooyn will love it. A lot of games released
ever since kind of are just gonna look that way
because it happens to be a visual style that's at

(01:44:11):
this point, it's got to proven track record, it runs
well low and hardware. Yeah. Oh, but they have some
other style here that's just coming through and I like it.

Speaker 3 (01:44:24):
Yeah, So hopefully you understand why I was like so
intrigued by this. Yes, yeah, I love games that are
I mean, I love Japanese games, and I like games
in the States, but I also like seeing games from
like places that you don't necessarily expect games to come from,

(01:44:46):
much less something that looks this good, and to top
it off, to sort of like teach you about their
culture through gameplay. And it's not going to be like perfect.
It's like that profile, like you know what, A Vakri
profile came out.

Speaker 2 (01:45:03):
On PlayStation one. I was in high school at the time,
That's why I was. I was in middle school. Uh,
and I played it and it although like it took
a lot of liberty in you know, Norse mythology. It
got me to read about Norse mythology.

Speaker 3 (01:45:19):
Yeah, like I got I was reading about it myself
because I'm like, oh, who is who is this Odin character?
You know, like who is thor? Like I read through it,
so you know, like this could be like a gateway.
You know, they could take a lot of liberty in
their like local mythology.

Speaker 2 (01:45:36):
But hey, I would have.

Speaker 3 (01:45:38):
I didn't even know what Borneo was until yeah, I
saw this game and they were like, oh, this is
Bonnie and mythology.

Speaker 2 (01:45:43):
I was like, what is that?

Speaker 3 (01:45:45):
It got me to look, right, guys, go learn about
wish list that right now. There's there's a link in
the description already if you want to check it out.

Speaker 2 (01:45:52):
That's that's cool. Actually I'm gonna I'm gonna go wish
list it right now. Hang on, hang on a secon,
I'm doing it right now. Stop the show. So, uh
so while I do this, you guys also go there
and look it up. Yeah, it's just there. It is.

(01:46:18):
Oh man, and let's see ads here wish list log in. Yeah,
well you can't. You can't wish list if you don't
you know. Yeah, well, just I'll just open up Steam.
I'm not used to actually having Steam installed, but it's
installed for me right now, so maybe I'll just do
it through there. Okay, store, you know I need to

(01:46:42):
join the Discord server is what I need to do.
And I don't know, maybe maybe you can pull them
into wish listed and there we go. All right, done,
done and dusted. Okay, sorry about that, guys, man, that's cool.
That is so cool. So yeah, again, it's a it's
an indie game, so not coming to console anytime soon.

(01:47:04):
We just kind of touched on that, but manned, this
game would would absolutely run on a Nintendo Switch, probably
even as Super Nintendo Switch. I'm sticking to it. You
heard it here, just kidding. We don't, we don't have to,
but you know what I will do is I will
switch us over. Though. To to our comments from last

(01:47:27):
week's episode, uh so yeah, we actually have a few
comments sat aside here. So let's see. This one comes
from three words Summa, who says glad I got the
opportunity to back God Shared chronicles, looking forward to the
final product. I missed it on Kickstarter when they were

(01:47:50):
kickstarting it. I should I should have or is it
is it still live? It might still what? No, no, no,
it's it's that's right. There's there's the the They have
another thing that they have called like the backer backer
Kit slack backer Kit. Yeah, okay, yeah, I was gonna
say that. I think there was one called Slackerbacker, but
I don't think that's so backer kit. I think I

(01:48:11):
could still maybe I won't. I'll look at it.

Speaker 3 (01:48:14):
Yeah yeah, uh maybe maybe we'll give the three words
some If you're listening, go check out the backer kit.
But if you, uh are not aware of what that is,
maybe we'll give you a link later.

Speaker 2 (01:48:27):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:48:28):
You know, so I I did pick that comment out
because you know, that just kind of summarizes, uh, what
a lot of people feel.

Speaker 2 (01:48:37):
But there were a lot of comments about Gods Chronicle
in general, which is why I was like, yeah, let's
just we'll geek out about it later. It was such
a good interview, oh man, it was. It was so
well and the game looks so incredible.

Speaker 3 (01:48:53):
So I'm really looking forward to uh, not only this game,
but also to do more interviews, which we will talk
about later. So stick around. We're not quite done yet
with the show. But yeah, but there were a lot
of comments about guard shat chronicles. Thank you guys for
being so warm and welcoming to this project. Yeah, and

(01:49:14):
means giving a lot of.

Speaker 2 (01:49:16):
Feedback and you know how you feel about the game
and whatnot. It's mostly positive.

Speaker 3 (01:49:22):
Actually, it's entirely positive, and so we're all sort of
looking forward to this one as a matter of fact.
The next comment about the interview from Local Rules, Hi, guys,
I'd love this kind of interview. I backed this game
when it came up, and Kickstarter looks awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:49:41):
So there you go.

Speaker 3 (01:49:41):
That's the guy who's rubbing it in. Right after he's like,
oh yeah, I backed the game when.

Speaker 2 (01:49:46):
It came out Kickstarter. I know, Okay, I'm sure. I'm
sure this is what Local Rules sounds like. This is.

Speaker 3 (01:49:55):
That's just me, but yes, but thank you for watching
the interview. We do have more interviews coming up. Should
we tell people what interviews we're doing? I mean it's
next week, I mean yeah, I think next week. It'd
be a good idea. Let's let's maybe tell.

Speaker 2 (01:50:09):
People who it is, like what game were Yeah, let's
just let's just tease the game. What what's what's the
game that we're interviewing for next week.

Speaker 3 (01:50:21):
Yes, it's none other than Alterium Shift, which I've actually
played on my channel and I q ate it and
the death came by and it's it's a grand old time.
I I love playing some of these, like pre release
games on STEM because the developers come by and they're like, oh,

(01:50:43):
you know, yeah, oh, we never noticed a bug like
that before.

Speaker 2 (01:50:48):
You know what.

Speaker 3 (01:50:50):
One of the best compliment that I've gotten from game
developers when I play games like this personally is when
they say, we have never seen anyone play this game.

Speaker 2 (01:51:03):
Like.

Speaker 3 (01:51:05):
I've never seen out of all the test players that
we've had. You know, We've gone through many conventions, hundreds
if not thousands of people I played a game, no
one played it like you, you're weird.

Speaker 2 (01:51:18):
And I'm like, well, that is a badge, honest, thank you.
I appreciate that. Well. I just get complimented for being
so thorough sometimes when I submit my bugs for her
review bug reports, they love us for dad. I mean,
because I do that for my job. So I'm like,
here's how I did it, Here's everything that I had
going on at the time, here's how to replicate. That's

(01:51:39):
why it's like you're a pro. They didn't know that,
but they mean, that's not exclusively what I do, but
it is one of my responsibilities at my day job.
So yeah, uh so, yeah, Well, look forward to more
interviews next week, guys, next Sunday, regular time this time,
because that's right draft the folks that Dratsy's game is

(01:52:01):
actually based in Central Time, where Derek is. Wow, oh
my gosh, a Central Time developer Central Time. Wow, there's
nobody here in Central Time. It's just a man that's crazy.
Just a bunch of land in the castle.

Speaker 3 (01:52:17):
They have Texas, so there's that's plenty of people.

Speaker 2 (01:52:22):
Speaking of Texas. Eagle Knight says, I am ashamed to
admit I was missed hit Point last week because I
was watching some foosball game. He said, I must repent
for watching Day by watching ten day old episodes, now
ten old episodes, not ten day old wow, ten old
episodes episodes. Wow. That's quite a penance to serve, and

(01:52:45):
I hope that you survive it well, Eagle. But I
do understand, and that is the standard going rate I
think for people who are watching the foosball game. So
you know, if if you feel like you know, giving
us a boost, or if you feel like giving us
a review on one of the few, uh you know,

(01:53:05):
or rather many streaming platforms out there, podcasting platforms where
