Speaker 1 (00:07):
At the s s same.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Hey, everybody, welcome back to Hit Point. They an my
new show, a niche new show, a j RPG new show,
A show where Baku and I get to talk about
anything and everything that catches our interest and or I are.
We stream live every single Sunday, every single one at
seven pm Central eight pm Eastern Time. Will be previewing
(01:32):
some trailers, talking about some well some upcoming games and
some games that I already came out. We'll be watching
some stuff and talking and responding to super chats at
the end of the show.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
It is.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
It has been a couple of weeks since last we
did this, man, every single Sunday.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
Every single Sunday, Rain or Shine. Is that the.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Longest recurring joke that we've had in the show. I
think it might be. It might just be the oldest
recurring joke at this point. Yes, Hey, it's good to
see you guys. I hope that you're all having a wonderful,
wonderful Sunday so far. Buck, How are you doing today, Man.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
I am doing fantastic, sir. Just a little busy with
life stuff, you know. Fourth of July it just happened.
I had a lot of food, a lot of a
lot of good food. I ate so much at I think,
like what four pm yesterday that I wasn't hungry until
(02:31):
like four pm today, Like around four it is like
I'm finally getting hungry. I ate so much in one sitting.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
That sounds painful, man, But the thing.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Was really good, so, you know, I was in I
wasn't too upset. Yeah, I went to her friend's house warming. Uh.
It was really nice that they got a nice place.
And you know one of my friends had you know
that they're they're daughter was just born and they brought
her along, baby Stella. Super cute. But when they came
(03:08):
in with the with the baby, I'm like, oh no,
we're having babies and our parties now this is this
is Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
You're year old now.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Babies at party. She's she's super cute and she didn't
like cry or anything. She was like super choke baby.
It was really nice. AnyWho, So that's my weekend. How's
your weekend, sir? What do you do?
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Uh? Man, I've been okay. So last week. I think
the last time we talked, I was still still very
much in the the thick of playing through Balderskate three.
I'm done with that now. Amy and I have finished
that game, and as of right now, I'm about ninety
hours into Oblivion, the Oblivion remake. I can't help it. Okay,
(03:57):
this is I'm on a Western or PG, A Western
j RPG.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Kick, a Western j RPG. They're all just a fishing game. Yeah,
I mean fishing.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Nope, there's no fishing and oblivion. Yes, there is. There is.
There is fishing and Oblivion.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Okay, there is.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
I did the Fishing Quest. Yeah, yeah, where you gotta
go kill a whole bunch of slaughter fish. That took
a while. I went fishing with a sword, of course,
as one does does. You don't use a fishing rod.
You just go in and swim in there with like
the man eating fish and you just slice and dice,
(04:39):
you know.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
And that's how.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Yeah. Yeah there. They look like eels, but with like
you ever seen those fisher kingfishers like from the deep sea,
with like the teeth that look like that, you know,
they like it's like that. It's okay, great, it's they're
they're nasty. It's cool. Anyways, So that's a lot of fun.
(05:05):
I'm about ninety hours in. I'm like level thirty two
in the game, which is way past endgame, and I'm
like just taking a casual tour of the entire game,
just kind of like, yeah, probably do everything. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
Nice. Yeah, I'm glad you're having fun. Man.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Oh thanks, it's been a lot of fun. And uh yeah,
it's wild how having the steam Deck connected to the
TV just kind of because that's how that's where I've
been playing on a couch in front of a big
TV with my steam Deck connected to the TV over
(05:42):
I think I talked about the setup last time. Moonlight
and sun sunlight and moonlight, sunshine, sunshine and moonlight whatever sunshine.
Point is, Yeah, point is I'm game streaming to the
switch or switch to the steam Deck and it has
been awesome. Mm yeah yep acknologies. I never finally found
(06:05):
a way to use my steam Deck after after owning
it for like two years. I made one video and
I'm like, yeah, I don't I don't really need a
steam Deck, And now I do now now it's because
it's a streaming console.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Yeah yeah, I mean, if that's uh, if that's what
it takes to uh make use of things you have
thought you would you say that This is one of
those situations where you're trying to justify to purchase or
did you have this in mine? And like you're just
trying to make absolutely happen emergent.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Uh just a naturally like evolving kind of thing that
just uh like like I was like, I don't know
how to play.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
I'm like, okay, I refuse to buy digital games for console.
That's that's the first that's the first pillar. Okay, And
I wanted to play Balder's Gate three. The Balder's Gate
three does have a it does have a physical release,
and it is on play Asia as well, but the
(07:17):
original English version, the English release is something like one
thousand dollars on eBay at this point, I don't recall
the exact number, but I think that's about right. It's
the collector's edition, and if you get the play Asia version,
it happens to, for whatever reason, remove some of the
(07:37):
adult content of it. And I'm like, well, I'm not
gonna spend money on a censored version, so I guess
I'm gonna have to play it on PC. Now, Yeah,
how do I play on my PC? With Amy? So
that means couch co op, which bulders Gate three does support,
which is cool. Couch co op good, But how do
(08:00):
I get PC that's in the basement onto TV upstairs?
What do uh enter? Streaming on the steam deck? It
was the coolest thing.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
That is brilliant. You guys hear that. You did? You know?
You did? You guys know you could do this? Be honest, Yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Had no idea it is. It's the first because I
already have like a gaming PC. Well it's it was,
you know, an edit video editing PC. Now it is
a gaming PC. It's it's you know, PCs are multifaceted things. Yeah,
it's it's pretty wild. It's called steamlink. No, no, no, no,
so praetorian Steamlink is garbage. I tried it. It's so bad.
(08:43):
It's so bad.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
It does really low quality streams between the PC and
the TV.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
And it is really inconsistent even over like a hard
hardwire network with like a gigabit speeds, you know throughput. Meanwhile,
I switched to Sunshine is the server component on my PC,
and Moonlight runs on the deck and it is just
(09:11):
so much better, miles miles and miles better. It's wild.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
I need you to give me like a tutorial on
how to do this, because I am actually pretty interested
in really how to set that up so I can
play on the TV elsewhere on it.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
And then I just have a couple of like ten
foot long USB type C Type A two C cables
for like charging on playing on my PS five controllers
because I happened to have two controllers because they were
in the bundle that I had to buy in order
to get the PS five to begin with. So yeah,
now now my PS five controllers are just Steam Steam
(09:49):
Deck controllers. It's crazy. M oh. Someone says they smell
a Super Derek video. Well maybe maybe so at some point.
Uh yeah, Yeah. The thing is, it is not a
user friendly thing to set up, and that does bug
me a little bit. Moonlight is fine. It's easy to
(10:11):
set that up. Sunshine, It's easy to set that up mostly,
but then you have to tell it how to start
your games on your local machine. And there's not like
an interface to like just point at the executable. You
have to give it the path to the file, and
then Steam, if you're using Steam, tries to do some
(10:34):
weird bs to like, you know, it's complicated anyways.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
Dare It likes to finangle these things. It works.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Yeah, I do like to tweak things and make them work.
But yeah, I think we're way off topic.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Let's talk about some games. Are we off topic though?
Because I feel like that's what people are truly here
to listen to. I mean maybe the games doesn't even matter.
They just want to know how to set this thing.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Well I did. I will preface the show. Is it
too late to really? Ten minutes in? Is it too
late to preface a show that you're ten minutes into?
I'd like to preface the show by saying some RBG
news for everyone is the title, and and some is
the operating word. We have a pretty good show today,
(11:30):
but we do have I think Baku said that only
a couple of things were actually RBG specific, really, but
but I think that a lot of the other things
that we saw are looking pretty cool. So let's dive
in to some past releases, updates and stuff. Yes, updates
(11:52):
to pass releases. That's the bunt.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Yes, let's do it all right. So the first thing
that we have on the it is Kiwi Talks. Kiv Walks.
The name keeps getting me. Yeah, Kiv Walks. Have you
ever cut Kiv walks before. They're a Koream developer, uh
and they I've.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Heard of them when we last talked about this game.
But that's it.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
There were no of a one game called the Which
Spring series, which they've actually been making this series for
ten years now and this relatively unknown in the West,
very much beloved by you know, the co following H.
But what we did want to talk about h is
these new uh uh new DLC called The Followers Fall,
(12:41):
which they have announced UH that will offer post ending
stories uh for the main characters, tales of new warlords
uh and a brand new storyline, which is pretty cool.
That's all. That's a good amount of stuff for DLC,
like posts, the post ending stuff uh, new warlord's brand
(13:01):
new story uh. And it will also feature full voice
acting in Korean and Japanese. Sorry no English. Let's take
a look at trailer really quick, just two sort of
refreshed folks, memories of Which Spring is about?
Speaker 2 (13:16):
Sure, let's pull that up. Let's see if I remember
how to do this?
Speaker 3 (13:21):
Yeah, Derek, we do this every single every single.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Every single What happened? Why is the trailer so small?
Speaker 3 (13:30):
What is what is going on?
Speaker 2 (13:32):
There? We go?
Speaker 3 (13:33):
What did you do.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
Just doing this.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
Let's all fix it on the spot, Yo, fix it,
Let's do it.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
The most professional stream on all of YouTube. Maybe that's
the longest running joke on the show.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
Yes, Yes, the d LC again is call the Followers Fall.
For anyone who is not aware of witch Spring, witch
Spring actually plays a lot like the lt A series.
You play us a witch. It's very lighthearted for the
most part, and you do collect things, you craft things
(14:18):
instead of it's kind of like alchemy, right, but instead
you're a witch, right, so you do these little witchcraft stuff.
It's it's it's a lot of fun. The story is
surprisingly well written for a title that does not look
it doesn't look as impressive as perhaps like an Tailly game.
(14:39):
Feels a little bit more like double A if anything, right,
But yeah, this certainly doesn't have that feeling. But it
plays extremely well. And don't take my words for it.
Go over to Steam. If you go over Steam, it's
like five thousand reviews overwhelmingly positive. Like it. You know,
I'm not I can't make this stuff like just go
(15:00):
just go look at it, right.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
That's really good, curiously salty group of people.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
No, I feel like I feel like this is one
of those hitting jam Like there's another game that's kind
of like a hidden jam like Ender Lily's just kind
of a hidden gem game where like it's overwhelmingly positive,
but you don't really hear people talk about it. And
then there are games like what it's uh ala Blaster
at List at List, I can never remember the name?
(15:26):
Do you know what I'm talking about? No idea, Uh,
I'm gonna I'll figure it out later. But it's probably
those games again that was just like universally uh you know,
uh praised, Yeah, but I can't for the life and
remember the name. Alib Blaster Labaster. I'm gonna. I'm gonna
figure out one out. Alas is another one of those games.
(15:50):
Alabaster Down, I think.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
So that's the first thing that comes up to me
and it looks like an RPG and it looks cool.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
Yet it's no, it's not Alabasta Don. It's something else.
I'll figure it out later. Alabasa Don is something else,
but yeah, I'm also thinking about something else. Alabasta Don
is also pretty good on this none right, but yeah,
but I'll figure it out. But yeah, witch Spring is
one of those games. So that's why I want to
talk about it. And here's the other thing that's really cool.
This whole DLC is free. So he yeah, yeah, another
(16:24):
one of those excuse me cool stuff. It's like, excuse
me as I announce how expensive this DLC is. It's
the low low price of free free ninety nine as
the kids like to say it. Yeah. But and and
just here sweetened the pot a little bit. If you'd like,
you can pick up the game right now for thirty
five percent off. Hashtag not sponsored, but hashtag can't be sponsored.
(16:46):
Kiwi walks. We should talk. But yeah, I highly recommend
it if if anyone wants to take a look at it. Yeah,
it's thirty five percent off, and the DLC that's coming
to expansion is basically free. So check it out. And
we've got more DLC news with this next one that
I am really piff about.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
It's kind of funny. So so I was reading in
chat Anthony said something like, what isn't that the game
that came out like a year ago. Well, here's here's
DLC update for a game that came out in twenty
twenty two. MM publisher Deck thirteen, Spotlight and developer Umammy
Tiger have announced the chain that goes downloadable content. Ashes
(17:30):
of Elrond will be releasing on the seventh of August
or is that is that right? Or is that the
eighth of July? Probably the seventh of the August.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Uh, yeah, it is the seventh of August, yes, okay,
just making sure August seventh, yes, And.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
We have a released a release date trailer as well
to showcase this a little bit here. So let's check
this out. Yeah, came out in December of twenty twenty two.
Uh it hurts man, that's oh so pretty, such a
(18:15):
good looking game. Look at the fishing mini game up there.
It's the fishing media game, super important.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
You can't say it's not a JRPG anymore. It's a
fishing media game. It is Oh my god. It feels
nice to talk about, you know, games like these, because
it's it's one of those. I mean, it is a
few good success story in its own right. It is
(18:44):
a great game. And the DLC is coming, especially for
like the indie sphere, right they will always be like,
oh yeah, well it's a little good term based. It
was like, this is a good turn based game.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
You know what else. It feels really good to be
able to say something like positive news about chain echoes
and fact I was inspired by this news. I was thinking,
you know what, let's just go over on the First
Press Games website and look at the blog and find
out how things are looking for us people who ordered
(19:16):
or pre ordered the you know, physical copy. The last
update was from three months ago and it was in French.
I think I don't know what it said. I didn't
have time, so not really looking great.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
According to their ship, their their progress page, they have
like a progress page for all the things that all
the product cute. And according to that page, it is
to being manufactured in April twenty twenty five, so like
three months ago.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
Yeah, yeah, it is being manufactured three months ago. So cool,
I think.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Cool.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
I think anyways, I'll tell you more when we know more,
but right now we don't really know more.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
Yeah. Oh, how much is it? Oh that's a good question.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
Oh the DLC.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
Yeah, I forgot to include the price. How much is
the answer to your question? Is it appears that it
would be free? Because I don't see a price.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
More free deal C two two for the price of none.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
I don't see a price on the steam anywhere.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
That's a good question, let's let's plug it into uh
Steam here ashes of.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
It didn't have a price. I'm reading all the publications like,
no one's talking about a price. I mean that there
might be one. There might be when it releases, but
at this point in time, there's nothing.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
Okay, so it's probably not free. But uh yeah, I
can't imagine you can still go get the original game
if if you want it on Steam and and then
you wouldn't have to wait for shipping.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
Yeah over seventh is no, I don't. I just don't
see a price. I mean the original game right now
is seven to ninety No, oh, I say no, no,
that's a soundtrack.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
I was about to say, I was about to say,
it's a stellar deal.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
But yeah, we read the same thing, did we? Totally Yeah,
I'm looking at the videos. They haven't said anything about
it costing anything. Although the fact that they're not saying
it is free is kind of telling me that it
was probably that it was free, so so probably not.
(21:44):
It just didn't say anything. Sorry, I wish I could
tell you AnyWho. Let's see here, are we ready to
move on to the next one? I am ready when
whenever you are all right? The next thing that we
have is from Braise Yourself Games, which is the name
(22:05):
of the company has released multiple song DLCs for their
game Rith of the Necro Dancers. Those guys, yeah, I
love them there they make fun games. Now. Uh these
DLCs I am legally obligated to announce me Baku is
uh legally obligated to announce because the packs the call Hotson,
(22:30):
Meek You Pack and the Hall Life Music Pack. I
I'm I have, Yes, I have a legal duty to
announce anything as it relates to Meek You and video games.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Okay, I was gonna say, we're you gonna. I thought
you were about to make a.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
Sign my life away to meek You.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
I thought you're about to disclose it having an investment
in like Hollow Live or whatever.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
At this point, I had thought about buying those stalks. Uh,
but I never did. Should have I even found a
way to do it it? Well, no, because they are
so they are actually incorporated in Japan. So because I'm
not a Japanese citizen, it's a little hard go through
(23:15):
some hoops to be able to buy their stocks. But whatever,
it's it's fine. Uh meeke your hassback. You're so contract.
That is true. That is absolutely true. I have no choice.
Uh so uh this song, of course, it's the name
implies the game will include stals from mek You and
Hallife Talent, which is actually pretty cool. I liked seeing
these little like indie games and crossovers with stuff like
(23:39):
I always find it really cool. Didn't I I could
have sworn that they did a thing with like Zelda too, didn't. Yeah,
they totally the Necro Dancer, but the Necro Yeah they did, right.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
Crypto definitely had a high rule like DLC pack or something.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
No, no, no, it was a full game. It wasn't
even a DLC. It was a full game based on
the Zelda you know, franchise. So I thought it was
super cool for them to be able to do stuff
like that. Yeah, yes, that one. Oh I played it.
That thing was really fun. Yeah. So the packsa immediately available,
(24:16):
and they're going for a buck ninety nine per song,
which is pretty worth it for anyone who likes rhythm
game because us a rhythm gameplay. Let me tell you,
every song is going to consume hours of my time
until I get it perfect. It's one of those things, right,
So two bucks for a song it's actually not too bad.
But there you go. That concludes all of the update
(24:36):
to past releases. Yay, and now onto upcoming releases that
are games coming out this week. Pass it over to you,
mister Derek.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Okay, oh wait wait, this is I had the wrong button.
The most professional podcast releases this week. So we talked
about this a little bit, and now it's time to
talk about it again because it's about to come out.
Podopone one and two Replay. That is, in fact, the
(25:07):
remastered version of the unique PSP era rhythm strategy RPGs
potapone one and two is coming soon. As the name implies,
you will get, in fact, both patapone one and two
in this bundle. It's coming out on the eleventh of
the month here, so just about a little less than
(25:27):
a week away for PS five Switch and pcv Esteem
And we have a trailer for it as well, just
to kind of remind everybody of what this is in
case you missed it the first time around or the
first time around on PSP.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
Podopone is such a fun game.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
It's an odd one.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Like I can't suggest this game enough for people who
are just looking for something a little different. It is
a rhythmic strategy game. And like the thing about this
game is that it's not like there's like a So
(26:09):
have you ever played rhythm game before, Derek.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
I've played a rhythm game or two once upon a time.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
So usually it's like on a on a on a
on a kind of a move vehicle, like you know,
bar where the basic the note just comes at you, right,
and that's yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
I played a lot of Guitar Hero back in the day.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
Yeah yeah, so so so one of those, right, But
this game is different. There is a bass rhythm that plays,
but you have to change the keys depending on what
you want to do to the enemy. So this is
not like a rhythm game. You have to decide what
button to press, but you have to press it on
(26:50):
to the beat. Does that make sense? So attack, defense, retreat,
Each of those is a button and you have been
on too the beat for maximum effect. But rhetor or
not to attack, of defense or retreat or whatever that's
up to. It depends on the situation on the on
the map as you're fighting the enemy. Interesting, So it's rhythm,
(27:13):
but it's also strategic. You have to think out what
to do. Is not just about hitting the right button
when it shows up. That's that's that's that's not the
only thing you need to do.
Speaker 4 (27:25):
Two.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
That's cool, dude, I had no idea that that was
how that worked. I think she talked about it once
before and you're like, it's hard to describe, and then
you kind of didn't really describe it after that.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
It is hard to describe, but seeing the video hopefully
gives people some sense of what the game is about.
And I guar it's so much fun. This game is
so much fun. There's not there's not too much in
the way of a story or whatever. There's some more,
but the game is so entertaining. So if you like
rhythm game, you like strategy game, get this game a shot.
(27:58):
It's really good.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
All right, Well that's really cool. Yeah. So it's coming
out for ps wive switching pcv Steam and a little
less than a week on seven eleven, now eleven eleven,
it is time for us to talk about some new
games that were.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
Announced to the news. All right, So some of these
are not like news news, but because I'm so hyped
about it, I don't want to touch up on it. Sure,
And the first one that we're going to talk about
is yet another L Tilliate title from Gus, and this
(28:37):
one feels a little bit like a Tillian milk. I
can never I never really know how to pronounce that one.
I think it's milk or milk right, yeah. Which is
a crossover series that will feature protagonists from across the franchise.
So typical L Tiller series comes in trios or so
(28:58):
and don't usually have multiple protagonists. This one's a little different.
This one was actually originally based on the world from
a mobile game, but then they decide to make it
a fully playable, no mobile, no nonsense, single player experience RPG.
So is this a term based RPG.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
When I heard about this originally and it was kind
of first announced ish, a lot of people were like
on the fence and like do I really want to
play something like this? Who knows? Because they were assuming
it's going to be kind of more gotcha more you know.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
Well, it's either it would be more gotcha or it
would just be like here, let's just pick the gotcha
game and you know, and then here you go. Now
now you have basically the gotcha game without the gotcha
like happy, but no, this is actually a brand new game.
You know what, let's just let's just clarify this right here. Now,
this is a brand new game built from the ground
(29:56):
up that is not the Gotcha game. It's just based
in that world with the protagonists. But because it was
based on a Gotcha game, it actually kind of makes
sense that it would be a crossover game as well,
from with protagonists from you know, other games. And but
this is a turn based RPG. This is very much
(30:18):
a bona fide l Tillier experience from all the things
I've read and seen, and in battle is up to
six characters, three in the front, three in the back,
turn based rpg with the timeline and all. It looks
really good. But let's take a look at the trailer,
you know, then take my words for it. You take
a look and you decide. All right, I think it
looks fantastic game.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
Any any moment now my video will load. I don't
know why it's not working.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
It's a lot it's loading on my end, though, is it? Yeah,
it's playing. Oh weird if imposted I am playing it again.
Do you see anything my Firefox is hosed or something
that's weird? Okay, here we go, let's try this again.
I'll just tell it to play one more time. Maybe, Okay,
(31:16):
is it working so something?
Speaker 2 (31:24):
Yeah, I'm gonna just close.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
In the meantime, I'll just talk to people. How are
you guys doing? Yeah, totally totally seeing you guys there.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (31:32):
We do this show every single Sunday. Do you guys
know that every Sunday without fail. We've never missed a
single Sunday, just like how you guys have never missed
a single Sunday of coming here. Let's say, hire a
couple of people. She goes, I'm a hello, Anthony, Hello,
I said hello to people, Martino, hello, James Hello.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
Oh I see Shiro. But they want Baku to notice you.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
I'm sorry, I noticed every single Sunday.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
Yeah, I will say the Italian games do look really nice.
Oh yeah, visuals, aesthetics like.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
The voice actings nice. The visuals are nice, the character
designs are nice. The music's nice. Like if you want
something low steak and just like you just want to
just relax and play a cozy RPG, this is it,
You're not. I mean, you're gonna say the world perhaps,
but like it's nothing like you know, a trail situation
(32:35):
with like you know warl ending consequences perhaps, like okay,
I lie there there there has been a couple of games,
but for the most part is like just help the
townsfolk and have little like playdates with your friends and yeah,
pretty chill, make a potion for people down the street,
you know.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
You know, find a find a cat in a tree
stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
No, totally, totally a thing that has happened in the
Taiy series, I'm sure, but yeah, it's it's a very
it's a very chill story. Yeah, so we see Sophie,
we see we see some protagonists from previous games.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
Well cool.
Speaker 3 (33:16):
Yeah, there are some heartwarming stories like in these games,
but again, uh, definitely not the like ultramato aggressive, like
you know, chaos kind of game. I forgot which game
those little guys are from. The Little Guys. I couldn't
(33:36):
tell which games are from a new something iris.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
Iris.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
I think it's a tailor iris it. Yeah, she was
someone would know because it's like her favorite series. Anywhouh.
So that is al Taierri, Wristleriana, The Red Alchemists, and
The Guardian. It is coming out September twenty six of
this year, releasing on PS five, Switch and PCPs Team
(34:07):
PS four version, for whatever reason, is only available in Japan.
They made a big note about, yeah, I don't I
don't know. It's very very bizarre, but I have to
announce it to you in case you're like, oh, I
have a PS four, get it for for for PS
four is only available in Japan, which you can still
(34:27):
get it US, just need a Japanese PS nine or whatever.
But you know, yeah, so you know, anyone who ordered
the game, anyone who orders the game out to the
first two weeks after release will really received the active
wear adventuring set for the protagonists and the Adventuring Charm
set as part of the early purchase bonuses. So now
(34:47):
you know, oh ooh, the next game is like Derek's
favorite go on, Derek tell I was gonna.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Say, I think I know maybe why it is that
they didn't release the PS four version in the.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
West, Oh, why is that?
Speaker 2 (34:59):
It's probably just because they anticipate selling many more copies
in Japan for PS four or just in general, and
they didn't want to create a whole new schoo just
for the PS four US version, you know, in order
to help push people towards the PS five release.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
That's also means like worldwide, like think about their art
and markets like Europe and US, not just America's like
Europe and.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Then but it's also I mean, like you said before though, Japan,
it's really popular there, especially like Japanese ladies women really
like the Itilia series. It's like a big deal there.
It's super niche here, right, So, uh, I think that
(35:50):
that's probably part of it is just scale. Uh you know,
that's that's how they're able to make those releases profitable.
That's my guests, And maybe the seventy dollars price tag
on a PS five release offsets some of those costs
a little bit anyways.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
Has yes, Yeah, so you.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
Were saying one of my favorite games, Well, how about yeah,
everybody's favorite little games? Uh from banday Namco and super
Massive Games. They've announced Little Nightmares three and it's finally
got a launch date and we have a trailer to
go along with it.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
And love Little Nightmares and Derek loves it too.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
I love I've never played games love. It's not really
a horror game, though.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
Is it. It's horror. It's it's horror coded, but like
it it's horror. Okay, you're You're getting chased around by
some monstrosities. It's pretty horror.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
All right, if you say so. It's not.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
It's not like zombie horror or like psycho logical horror.
So I still don't exactly understand what Little Nightmare is
really about. But from what I've read, I mean, the
story wise, I'm not sure what it's about. It's still
I'm still trying to connect. But from what I've read,
(37:16):
Little Nightmare is really about confronting your childhood fears, like
from the creator perspective, So you see a lot of
these things are like childhood fears, sure made into a game,
Like you know, there there is an underlying story.
Speaker 2 (37:34):
I look so whimsical, m.
Speaker 3 (37:39):
I mean from from Tim burtony, I guess this is
sort of like the world that you see as a
small child. Everything is ginormous, right, everything is beyond your control. Uh,
and you're simply trying to survive it all.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
Dude, I think you just described like life for everybody.
Speaker 3 (38:04):
Something odd the profound about that.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
I love love Little Nightmares. This is such a great game.
I want to day one this so bad, but I
don't think I can day one this one a right
and it's coming out in October tenth of this year
on all modern consoles. And because it's coming in October
is perfect time for Spootober. Perfect perfect timing for Spootober.
(38:32):
Now Derek should play it.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
This next one. I'm just gonna ignore that this next one.
When you hear the name Project M, I know that
a certain group of people out there are thinking about
Super Smash Brothers and a mod that was released for
(38:54):
for the oh the Wee version of Smash Bros. To
make it function more like Melee. This is a little
bit different from that.
Speaker 3 (39:02):
Yes, it certainly is. And I had to look it up.
As a matter of fact, I didn't know what Project
AM was. So when I was looking it up, I'm like,
wait a minute, this is this is not the game
that I need research. I'm like, this is not it? Like,
what is this? Well, this game is called Project Code AM.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
It's a little different.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
It's a little different.
Speaker 4 (39:25):
Now.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
We actually talked about this game all the way back
in May of twenty twenty two.
Speaker 2 (39:31):
You know, that's around when Echo Chaine Echoes came out.
Speaker 3 (39:38):
This game was described to us as a killing and
solving detective adventure game, which made very little sense I'm
scratching my head and it is. It was so captivating.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
Oh saw the was this the one where you play
two halves of it? Like you play as the killer
and the detective and.
Speaker 3 (39:57):
Yes, one one, yes, And it was so captivating because
the art was so nice and it was so remember
the concept, yeah right right, the concept was so intriguing,
and I was like, oh, I want to see more
of it. And then just like absolute silence after the teaser,
like we haven't heard a single word from it every
(40:19):
now and then I'll look it up like what happened
to project like code? M Like nothing?
Speaker 4 (40:24):
Right?
Speaker 3 (40:24):
And I thought it was gonna frizzle out because one
when you're covering like game news for as long as
you know we have or more like, Derek, have you
seeing a couple of games frizzel out that way? And
then one of these days they released like an announcement,
Oh yeah, sorry, I know we're out of funding, you know.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
Oh dude, I think we missed talking about it. But
do you remember al Zara?
Speaker 3 (40:46):
Yeah? Oh, we should talk about al Zara. We should.
We'll talk about Alzara later indeed.
Speaker 2 (40:52):
Yeah, all through a comment yes please?
Speaker 3 (40:55):
Uh yeah? So yeah, So I thought that it was gonna,
first of all, never make their market until now. That
is because, of course, if we're talking about this game now,
it means that we've got some good news. ARCSS Games
came to the Rescue and just announced that they will
(41:15):
be published in this game, and we have a new
trailer that gives us a better idea of what this
game is actually about.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
It's access games, don't access because because I could hear,
people probably get that confused with like arc System Works
what which it would be wild, but no access games
if you want.
Speaker 3 (41:32):
The crazy part is access games and art system Games
are actually super tight knit too. I know has been
so hard, which makes it even more confusing. But they're
not at all related, like structurally speaking, they're two separate
companies completely. But anyways, they came through the Rescue Access
(41:52):
Games and they're like, yeah, no, we'll pick this up,
we'll make it happen, and we got a new trailer.
Let's take a look check it out. Yeah maybe hang on,
hang on, I swear there's like nothing like it's just
because it's just because.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
You sent me, like the the Emirated trailer for it
or something.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
It's got some blood on it.
Speaker 2 (42:18):
It's well whatever, Well, I wonder if there's a mirror
on YouTube, the most professional stream on all of YouTube.
Speaker 3 (42:26):
Yes, let me keep talking here. Oh yeah, that happens.
So uh yeah, el Zara. We're gonna cover el Zara
later on because I completely forgot about it. I talked
about el Zara on my stream, which, by the way,
if you guys don't know, I stream over on twitch,
we did talk about it. I have vented my frustration
(42:47):
over there, and there are things to be frustrated about
when it comes to the al Zera situation. I backed
that game, uh, and I'm never seen that money again.
So I'm I'm a little upset, but maybe more than
a little upset about it. But the most upsetting thing
is really just about their attitude and how they're like, whoopsie, Daisy.
(43:09):
It happens like it's like the most non apology ever.
But we'll rea, we'll read the I'll find I'll find
that update and we'll read it to you. Here we go,
let's watch some code.
Speaker 2 (43:24):
M Oh, this is totally gonna get us copy striked.
I'm gonna just turn that down way down. Sure, Ah,
you love the music, though I know I don't. I'm
still going a little bit. Well it's coming out your
side of things, but I should have really low for
(43:46):
the stream, okay, but I turned it up for me,
so okay. Yeah, so what do you think project code?
M Oh, you gotta wipe the blood off to read
the sign. Oh, I see you.
Speaker 3 (44:03):
That's why it's not allowed. Yeah, I don't even think
it's anything bad. I don't know. Am I like jaded
by all this? Like I don't, I felt I felt nothing.
I mean make believe scenario.
Speaker 2 (44:19):
Yeah, so you're like trying to cross reference different images
with like different locations and find out where the part.
Speaker 3 (44:24):
So I'm guessing this is the Japanese version because it's
now in Japanese. But basically, uh, this is a situation
where you have to play the murderer but also the detective,
and when you playing, like, I don't know which part
of the game it is, but during certain sections of
the game, you have to uh select certain things that
(44:48):
will take certain amount of time, probably the murder phase,
where you have to basically craft like a perfect untraceable
murder within that amount of time, and every action takes
a certain amount of time. So there's some puzzle element
to it too, so you have to think through like
what to do. It's not just like point and click
click click click click everything and move on and just
(45:09):
read the story. Right, there is gameplay involved. The art
is just it's so good. I absolutely love the art
in this game. Yeah, I am definitely going to play
this game. I'm so intrigued by the story and the
killing and solving detective adventure game. I'm so intrigued. Pretty neat,
(45:33):
it is pretty neat conceptually and artistically speaking. It's just
it's just right in my strike zone for games that
are a little bit off the you know, off the
beaten path. Yeah. Well, anyways, so this game has no
release date yet unfortunately, but it is currently being developed
(45:56):
for PS four, the Switch n PC, So as soon
as there is the release date, we will let you
guys know about it.
Speaker 2 (46:05):
You betcha. Cuetia Games have just released a new trailer
that gives us a better idea about their upcoming adventure
game called Schrodinger's Call from the Steam page. In a
world devoid of human life, you awaken as Mary, the
last ear to listen, the last voice to speak. Forsaken
(46:29):
souls seek your help over numerous calls and desperate attempts
to regain the feelings they've lost. Souls bound with strong
regrets suffer somewhere between the lens of the living and
the dead, desperately waiting for someone willing to listen. Will
you be that ear and voice? I mean when you
(46:51):
say it like that, I mean I kind of have
to write.
Speaker 3 (46:53):
Yeah, I feel coerce into this position. Jeez.
Speaker 2 (46:58):
Choose the words you want to speak to the souls
who cannot die and the actions that you want to
take to save them and advance the story. Uh, that's
that's also like, that's that's more of a command. That's
like telling you.
Speaker 3 (47:16):
How to do They're like forcing us to do this. Nope,
I'm an introvert, I know, right, Martine's just like if
I'm an introvert, if I don't, I don't want to
talk to you, let's take a look.
Speaker 2 (47:29):
Okay, Yeah, I guess.
Speaker 3 (47:32):
And still other give wonder interesting title that also has
really intriguing concepts again, Indie gamesman, I'm telling you, indie
games is where all these super cool concepts are coming from.
Speaker 2 (47:46):
You know you other think like so psychics who who
talk to the dead or are sometimes called mediums because
they act as like the intermediary between you and the
the spirit world. I guess I wonder if an introvert
psychic is just called a low.
Speaker 4 (48:06):
May have.
Speaker 3 (48:11):
So apparently in this game, you have there's a phone
in front of you, and you listen to all these
like dead souls and you have to like piece things together.
So it's kind of like another detective kind of game.
Speaker 2 (48:24):
Yeah, that's interesting.
Speaker 3 (48:26):
I just I love the I love the art so much.
Speaker 2 (48:30):
It is an interesting take on the artwork. I I
don't think it's necessarily like my cup of tea the
whole like I like, I like it looks cool. It
looks like hand drawn stuff that's neat. I like games
that look like Vida games.
Speaker 3 (48:48):
These are things that just like draws me in.
Speaker 2 (48:51):
It's artistic and it's cool, but it looks like an
art piece that like I might, I might watch somebody
else play it. Yeah, for a little while. I'd pop
in your stream for like ten minutes, throwing a couple
of twitch bits and like bounce.
Speaker 3 (49:04):
Yeah. Probably that sounds like a typical Baker stream experience
right there, Like me playing some like avant garde like game,
like what is what are you playing right now. But
this game is called Schrodinger's Calm. You might not understand, but.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
Cool, that's that's cool. Vaka. Well, I'm just gonna go
afk for a bit.
Speaker 4 (49:28):
Have a good afk sa as I indulge in this
game anyways.
Speaker 3 (49:40):
Games. Yeah, so that one is coming out in twenty
twenty six for PC. Uh and this next one is
sort of the polar opposite. I think of what we
just saw it, it doesn't need a whole lot of
explaining other thanis a hack and slash game from D
three publisher called Full Metal school Girl.
Speaker 2 (50:00):
What more do you need? What more do you need?
I'm buying day one.
Speaker 3 (50:04):
We've gone from stroedinger Call Schrodinger's Call to Food Metal
school Girl. Let's check that's the okay, food Metal, let's go.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
This is probably I haven't even seen the trailer for this,
but I have a let's just say, I'm like seventy
percent sure. This is probably closer to being up my alley.
Let's let's check it out.
Speaker 3 (50:31):
Let's see United Federations of Japan Machine Girls. We get
their revenge.
Speaker 2 (50:40):
The you know, I think the the previous game is
what you would call like a video game. Cinema and this.
Speaker 3 (50:48):
Ain't uh you just go in and just wreck hapic
and just say hack and slash, and you just you
just kill things and blow things up. There's not a
whole lot to uh.
Speaker 2 (51:01):
The duality of weaves right here from the previous game
to this game. That just shows you, like the two
natures of gaming.
Speaker 3 (51:12):
Robot girls fight a against a evil corporation that overworks people,
but you're also killing the enjoys that will work.
Speaker 2 (51:22):
It's okay, guys, they may be machines, but they still
have jiggle physics. I hate the stream froze. Oh there
he goes machine.
Speaker 3 (51:35):
Guns and yeah, yeah it's uh, you know, missiles.
Speaker 2 (51:41):
And look she had she had a chainsaw arm. That's
some evil dead stuff.
Speaker 3 (51:47):
Sideboard girls, okay, there's sideboard there's sideboard girls.
Speaker 2 (51:52):
They are Yeah, that means that they started off a
machine and right, yeah, as opposed to which is something
that was built from the ground up. So you know,
these are the beep who also may Earth defense forces.
Speaker 3 (52:10):
So you know, I.
Speaker 2 (52:12):
Yes, no, Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover,
and that cover said this is this is gonna be crazy.
Speaker 3 (52:25):
I will I would play this. I would one hundred
percent play this just for the insanity. Uh. This one's
coming out on October twenty third this year for PS
five switch to n PC, the Esteem and Epic, So
lots of ways to play.
Speaker 2 (52:41):
Yeah, she in chat says, I don't think i'll play
this one. See there's two say I won't play this one,
and then there's the the people who say I will
play this one with the curtains drawn and the door
shut and the lights off.
Speaker 3 (52:57):
I'm playing this one with the whole we're watching.
Speaker 2 (53:01):
Oh god, you can throw it up on Twitch. We'll
see the gameplay. Yes, that'll be fun. I would stick
around for that one for at least thirty minutes, do
it all?
Speaker 3 (53:15):
Right?
Speaker 2 (53:15):
Well? Uh so that was full middle school girl. You
already said when it's coming out. So I guess that
leaves us with this next one that was originally called Bakannar.
Oh god, is that what I like?
Speaker 3 (53:29):
Like?
Speaker 2 (53:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (53:30):
Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (53:35):
This game was released in Japan in two thousand, the
year of Our Lord. Twenty twenty three, cats Away is
the new title, as it is called in the Western
release is coming according to developer Studio Studio Size Size
and Size and Z one Size.
Speaker 3 (53:58):
And I love.
Speaker 2 (53:59):
How hard this to bring out size engine? It's probably
probably with a shin, right, Okay. Anyways, the players manage
the crew and the resources of a sailing ship on
an exciting and dangerous exploratory voyage, steer the ship during combat,
maneuvers into more advantageous positions, and giving orders to the
(54:24):
on the fly to counter enemy attacks.
Speaker 3 (54:27):
Uh yeah, yeah, So the naval battle game, Oh.
Speaker 2 (54:33):
Cats, let's check it out. You know what.
Speaker 3 (54:36):
It's called Cats Away, Cats Away, the real time strategy
game of Naval War. Cats Naval War.
Speaker 2 (54:44):
Oh my god, did you see the cat the zoom
in on the belly buttons.
Speaker 3 (54:49):
Stock sea monsters.
Speaker 2 (54:53):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (54:56):
I wanted to give you with something with some na
more cats, more feline friends, more cats people, Cats Away.
That cat that's an actual cat with the actual cat
has a false advertising unless that's a playable character. Unless
(55:20):
it's a playable character. H But anyways, anyways, that's a
that's a that's the thing that's happening. Uh, that's the thing. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (55:32):
It's apparently it's coming out here very soon in about
you know, four days, that's the tenth uh, and it's
coming out digitally on the PS five and the intend
to Switch and PC via the Steam.
Speaker 3 (55:48):
All right, this next one is a bit of a doozy. Guys.
If I were to talk about Arc system Works, you know,
the thing that not to be confused with access games,
what would come to your mind immediately?
Speaker 2 (56:03):
Dragon ba zke the fighting game fighters Z, fighting games?
Speaker 3 (56:07):
Right, fighting games?
Speaker 2 (56:08):
Probably is it Blaze Blue? Did they also do that?
Speaker 3 (56:11):
Oh yeah they did Blaizebu. They do Guilty Gear, Yeah,
Guilty they do all that, right, fighters Z, they do
all the all the notable fighting games that aren't Capcom
and Babble like ten years all like Arc system Games.
Aystem Works. Yeah, well, the famous fighting game studios surprised
(56:32):
everyone during their recent showcase with a new non fighting game,
an interactive adventure game called Dear Me. I was let's
take a look at the trailer, because this is nothing
that you would think that Arc System Works were big.
Speaker 2 (56:50):
Just oh man, I wonder what kind of fighting game
it's gonna be.
Speaker 3 (56:54):
That's what everyone said. What the That's what everyone said
during the splash.
Speaker 2 (57:03):
And then everybody just collectively goes what the.
Speaker 3 (57:05):
Like, what the exactly? They're like, what is this? What's
going on? This is not a fighting game. It's fighting
its way into your heart. That's exactly what it is.
Speaker 2 (57:17):
But you don't know it could be a fighting game. Well,
this is just the this is just the intro.
Speaker 3 (57:24):
Ten hours into the game, you thought you were done
and it becomes a fighting game.
Speaker 2 (57:29):
I'm still trying to figure out the move set. How
do I shore do you can? For some reason, there
was a little girl character, but you know she won't
she won't punch when I tell her.
Speaker 3 (57:41):
She wouldn't punch. She's skipping, she's like running away, she's crying,
but she's not punching people. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (57:50):
On the other side of the game, dude, this is
the best fighting game ever.
Speaker 3 (57:54):
Ever ever made. I Okay, So the part of the
reason why I brought this game up is well, first
of all.
Speaker 2 (58:04):
I assumed it was because it looked like the im
sets in a logo.
Speaker 3 (58:08):
Oh god, you know what, You're right, that's like no.
The reason the reason why I wanted to bring this
up is, first of all, it was a huge surprise.
Like everyone, I have a lot of friends who are
into fighting games, and they're all collectively like WTF. When
they saw that, They're like, what is this? They were
so puzzled they were like, is this gonna is she
(58:29):
gonna start like showed you king people right, Like that's
what I said a waiting for because they thought it
was supposed to be like intro video into like a
fighting game. But they were just like okay, yeah, and
then they're like, yep, that was it. That was the
game we're gonna we can this is an adventure game
from our system Works. I was just like what so
(58:52):
I had to bring it up. But secondly, and this
is the more interesting part. I've always said that our
system Works. I keep saying our system Games. It's actually
our system Works. They their animation technology is a cut
above like most studio hands down, Like they're so good
(59:12):
at it. But they always make fighting game and they
make great fighting games. But what if they were to
use that same technology and branch into things like RPGs
and other games. Well, here it is. They are branching
into other games. It's that same beautiful animation, but they're
making it that. They're like, well, let's try to do
something different. Right, Let's let's go into a territory that
(59:33):
we are not known for, but we're gonna give you
that same beautiful animation that we are known for. It's
just in a different genre and a different take. I
support it quite frankly.
Speaker 2 (59:46):
Rightist Chris is like making this game. They're like, I'm
gonna wreck these guys whole career. I'm gonna make the
game just exactly raise the standard, and no one's ever
going to be the same.
Speaker 3 (59:57):
Yeah. The fighting games might be brutal, but this one
is going for your cocoa, right, this one is going
for the heart. Man, You're going to cry your your face.
This game looks like it's going to make you cry,
like five rivers.
Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:00:09):
So this game is coming, uh this summer only for
to switch To. I don't know why, but it's what
it is. Uh So I depending on it.
Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
Because everybody anticipated the switch To is gonna sell really
really well. Well, I mean it kind of has.
Speaker 3 (01:00:26):
It kind of has. Yeah, it's just actually kind of
limiting because people on a lottery still trying to get
a trying to get a system. So I don't know,
it's not as if like it's just sitting.
Speaker 2 (01:00:36):
I thought that Reddit boycott was going to be really effective. Yeah,
and I'm just so surprised.
Speaker 3 (01:00:42):
Yeah, me too. There's what people say and then there's
what actually happens, words and words, actions and actions. Right, Yes,
but this game is coming out and I'm really looking
forward to it, and one day maybe our system works
will bring this same kind of beautiful animation too. I
don't know, a j RPG, maybe it could be cool THEPGRPG.
Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
Maybe I will need them to do a little wor.
Speaker 3 (01:01:15):
Yeah, all the stuffs already there. They couldn't totally make
it if they wanted to a little less.
Speaker 2 (01:01:20):
Art house I mean yeah, I mean the art the
artist stuff is cool. It's it's neat for like a
you know, art project.
Speaker 3 (01:01:29):
Well, no, I want a Guilty Gear RPG. Yeah, it
wouldn't beat the artsy stuff, but it would be like
the beautiful animation. But this is like, this is this
is this is different. Yeah, I feel like the talked.
Speaker 2 (01:01:41):
About before where yeah, you need a palette cleanser, not
just for yourself the player, but for like the game developers.
Oh god, yes, can you imagine just working on nothing
but fighting games for twenty years.
Speaker 3 (01:01:57):
They need some like kind of outlet to explore other
possibilities and other kind of story writing. Right, it's not
even just like the animators. Like animators, the writers they're
like can I just write something else that doesn't involve
killing something. This time. I support it. I think it's great.
We'll see how the game actually sells. I doubt it's
(01:02:18):
going to sell super well. I don't think it's going
to be like the game of the year. But again,
Pellicle answer, we need it.
Speaker 2 (01:02:24):
We all do, all right, So check out what's this
next one? I think this is this me? Yeah, this
is me?
Speaker 3 (01:02:30):
Okay, Yeah, So I saved the best for you, mister Derek.
Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
And I'm pretty I'm pretty stoked. So we all kind
of knew that this was going to come out here
at some point. After the success of the games like
Wu Kong Liza p Stellar Blade, Chinese companies are reconsolidating
their resources to try to make similar triple A series
(01:02:58):
or single player experience. So here is net ease's take
on it, called Blood Message. This is going to be
a game that's set in the final years of the
Tang dynasty in China, and we'll have the player travel
a thousand miles back to Changan, the heart of the
(01:03:18):
Tang Empire.
Speaker 3 (01:03:19):
Wow, you heard a tongue. You're pretty on point with
that pronunciation. Thank you, Yes, I appreciate that. All right,
Let's check out blood message.
Speaker 2 (01:03:32):
And is it Tang Empire?
Speaker 3 (01:03:33):
Is it Tongue Empire, Tongue Tongue okay tongue Yeah, Tongue dynasty,
and is chung'an ah? Yeah, so you were close. You
were close. I'll be playing. I'm krobably going to play
this in Mandarin if I play this, because again, I
(01:03:56):
like playing games in the original language.
Speaker 2 (01:03:58):
I'm sure I think that Scorpion is setting unrealistic expectations
to high standards for scorpions in our pets.
Speaker 3 (01:04:10):
You know why I do appreciate about this game. I'm
not like a big fan of like the Wu shoe
looking like aesthetics, but this is more realistic, Like this
is probably what the age looked like, you know, back then.
It's pretty cool. This is a little bit, a little
(01:04:32):
less this. This feels more like a Ghost of Tsushima
kind of thing, you know, a.
Speaker 2 (01:04:36):
Little less mystic, a little more true to life. Yeah,
and that's not a representation we've seen a lot in media,
I think, Yeah, which.
Speaker 3 (01:04:49):
I like a lot. When I saw this, I was
actually super excited that they're finally gonna step away from
the mystical wushoe flying dragon hitting Tiger or did I
get that wrong?
Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
Ranching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
Speaker 3 (01:05:04):
Yeah, like not that I hate that, but it's just
like it's a little oversend.
Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
In my mind. Yeah, it's when it becomes the only
way you're able to showcase your culture like his historically.
It's like, I don't know, Yeah, this is a little
more rooted and grounded in reality would be pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
Yeah, this looks way more realistic.
Speaker 2 (01:05:31):
I mean probably still pretty.
Speaker 3 (01:05:37):
Like Wukong is cool in his own right, but that
is decidedly a like non real like realistic like real story,
you know what I mean, Like it is mythical and
it's fine. Is this a little bit of a mix
(01:05:58):
between if I have to say, uh, what what's that
other game called that that was pretty big recently? Uh,
Kingdom Come Deliverance. I don't know, you don't talk about
us like that medieval game. Yeah, but that was like
(01:06:20):
more like realistic medieval. Oh they're okay, So they're out
like in the western part of China, which is why
you see like a little bit of like maybe a
(01:06:44):
little bit of like Indian or like smug southwestern sort
of like Asia. Uh looks involved if that makes sense.
It's the story of about like a guy who's trying
to make it back home from Yeah. Oh, this is
(01:07:16):
what Triple A looks like when net East is making it.
And I'm actually pretty excited about this.
Speaker 2 (01:07:23):
This is pretty sick.
Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
This is pretty sick. Keep an eye out for this.
Yeah yeah, I I that's that's the thing like Romance
of the Three Kingdoms, that's also like a pretty mythical
like kind of thing. Like if you actually read it,
it's not like pure history. It's like half history and
half like history half history half mythology. Yeah, basically it's
(01:07:50):
like there's some magic and stuff involved here. It's like
this ain't history, man, But like I guess there's people
back then they really thought that it had happened, right,
so then they probably record it like its actual history
because they truly believed it back then. Right. Yeah, well
(01:08:14):
there you go. This is this is what net Ease
is capable of. If they were to do a Triple
A game that is aiming to crush the other Triple
Ga the Triple A games in the world. They have
the resources, they can do it, they have the technology
they can do it, so they're like, all right, here
(01:08:34):
we go, We're gonna we're gonna try this and see
what happens, and I think pretty thanky. Yeah, I think
it's gonna be pretty crazy. We'll see, but we'll see
that there's the promise and then there's the actual product.
And sometimes they don't actually deliver, but sometimes they deliver exactly,
(01:08:55):
so we'll see sometimes sometimes.
Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
Yeah, So move and along. We have some industry news
to talk about. And I think you already kind of
touched on I went ahead and put Alzara here at
the top. You got touched on it a little bit,
but you can you can dive into it more if
you'd like.
Speaker 3 (01:09:13):
Oh, why don't I Yeah, why don't you start talking
about it? I'm going to pull something up.
Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
Sure, I have nothing really to go off of except except, yeah,
I heard through the grapevine through my discord, uh that
that Alzara what was the name of the full I
feel like there was a longer.
Speaker 3 (01:09:35):
Time Zara Radiant echoes, Yes, we should see. We just
show the people what Alzara looked like, or at least
what the video looked like, so that way they have
like a visual and then well then I will talk
about what isn't ever coming.
Speaker 2 (01:09:52):
Sure, Yeah, let's let's do that.
Speaker 3 (01:09:55):
So, so you would do that and I'll pull something up.
Speaker 2 (01:10:00):
Yeah, the official reveal trailer. I remember this the first time. Yeah, here,
the first time I actually heard about al Zara was
in the weeks or a week or two leading up
to its announcement, So this is what they were showing. So, yeah,
(01:10:20):
this is the trailer that they sent me about two
weeks before the announcement of the game to see if
I would be interested in helping hype the game up.
They definitely reached out to a lot of fellow content
creators in advance with promises that this would be like
(01:10:42):
the next big thing, and I didn't make it any Frankly, well,
I mean I didn't really have any reason not to
believe them, but I didn't. Also just really appeal to
my sensibilities at the time, so I didn't make a
video talk about it.
Speaker 3 (01:11:02):
But oh, you'd have a field day if you did.
Speaker 2 (01:11:12):
Yeah, I mean that looks kind of neat. I know
that there were some rounds of the Internet that were
having a field day with it for being you know,
I don't know the word to use appropriately here, but like,
(01:11:35):
for lack of a better term, for being the woke game,
I guess, And I don't even want. Yeah, I don't
even want to to like bring up that whole discussion.
Speaker 3 (01:11:44):
Because yeah, I don't even want I don't even want
to entertain.
Speaker 2 (01:11:47):
Yeah, but that, but there was like a whole that
was that was the whole like counter cultural response to
it in a lot of ways, and I just did
didn't seem like anything I wanted to touch with a
ten foot pole.
Speaker 3 (01:12:00):
In near mind, only one culture exists, and if you
don't talk about that culture, you wok, like what, yeah,
you know other people exist in this world, like calm down,
I suppose uh you know, blood message, that's totally woke
up making a game about China. Chinese company making a
game about China.
Speaker 2 (01:12:19):
It's not. It's not because it didn't have a female protagonist.
Speaker 3 (01:12:23):
Now if it did, oh I'm sorry, that's right. If
they if there was a female protecon Oh no.
Speaker 2 (01:12:29):
Okay, let's let's not go into that whole discussion.
Speaker 3 (01:12:33):
Yeah, that that whole world. But I will have a
field day with this because I paid for this game,
but it's gonna be a different reason. So can you
pull up the share screen? Did you get this? Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:12:46):
Yeah, I need to add that just a moment. So
I am going to you because you haven't shared me
your screen.
Speaker 3 (01:12:56):
I thought I sent it to you.
Speaker 2 (01:12:58):
Uh nope, not in discord anyway.
Speaker 3 (01:13:03):
Try this one.
Speaker 2 (01:13:05):
Oh yep, okay, yeah, I'll pull that up here.
Speaker 3 (01:13:11):
All right, So what we're really looking at here is
an update from June seventeenth, a little bit, a little
bit under a month. Uh and it is from Studio
Camelia talking about their shutting down. And they're oh, well
(01:13:31):
you look at that. They're sinceerious apologies and an explanation
as to what happened. So uh yeah, why I ripped
them apart for this. I'll read it. I'll skim read it.
Can you see this? Should I maximize that I'm zooming
a little further if you wanted to? Yeah, that's more
(01:13:54):
like this. Yeah. So hello everyone, He's an updates for
difficult to without deep sadness that we arennow is the
closure of Studio Chamellia. In this update, we will take
the time to explain the circumstances lat to the outcome,
as well as provide clarity regarding Kickstarter in the future.
Blah blah blah. Okay, so how we got here. They
talk about you know, Oh, we were so inspired to
(01:14:16):
make a game, YadA YadA, Oh my god, all these
things that mix like doesn't quite like matter right now,
we use that success to develop a new demo, YadA YadA,
potential partners around it. We had in depth discussions earlier
this year, but unfortunately none of them resulted in a contract,
despite having a playable demo, a senior team half the
(01:14:39):
funding secured in the kickstarted campaign. We spared no effort
and try to hold on as long as we could. Okay,
so so far, so good. Still right, this is part
of the harsh reality of the industry. We're creatives, but
we need funding to keep creating. Sometimes even having a
promising game concept and proven market interest and a strong
(01:15:00):
team is not enough. Many say that every release game
is America, and that couldn't be more true. Still fine,
Like I get it, like it kind of happens. The
part that gets a little irritating now is once we
start getting the effects. The studios liquidation was declared on
April twenty eighth. They were liquidating in April, so late
(01:15:24):
April they are already liquidating, and at the time the
writing there is a pretty lazy response. Yeah, okay, this
this came out in June seventeenth. Yeah, okay, Like once
you get to all the heartfelt, all the story, you
know where, let's look at the facts. Now. The fact
is the liquidation was in April twenty eighth. And you
(01:15:48):
you don't just like wait until the very date, the
last day, twenty seventh, and then all right the next
day with liquidating goodbye. Right now, it was coming probably
months in advance.
Speaker 2 (01:15:59):
Uh huh.
Speaker 3 (01:16:00):
And yet they've said nothing to the community, not like
we're not we're in financial trouble. It doesn't look like
we can make it, help us find a you know what,
trying to secure the deal. Nothing, just liquid date and
then and then is the time that writing various legal
procedures will underway. So as you can imagine, we're unable
(01:16:20):
to share the details of these procedures. As it pertains
the liquidation of a company, you understand, right, doesn't we
couldn't talk about it, but nothing stops you from talking
about it, like in March or like February or January,
like three months leading up to a liquidation. I think
it's pretty fair to say, hey, it looks like we
(01:16:42):
might be having some trouble like you know, like anything
anything at all? Right, Okay, so it is now on
indefinite pause. There's a slim chance that a third party
might one day step in and offer to take over
a project. And if that happens, the game would it
never really take a different direction than what was presented
(01:17:04):
during the campaign, but hopefully for the better. I doubt it, right, Like,
who's gonna step in and take up all the debt
and and all the people who had funded the game? Right?
Speaker 2 (01:17:14):
Like, no, you have you have no money at this point,
no assets, essentially.
Speaker 3 (01:17:19):
That one's gonna do.
Speaker 2 (01:17:20):
No one, but you have a lot of yeah, like
you said, debts or obligations, obligations.
Speaker 3 (01:17:26):
Yeah, like no one, No one would do that. Like
I'm sorry, but like ideas that that's doesn't it's like
the opposite of a kickstarter, Yes, there would anyone like
to tick up these obligations.
Speaker 2 (01:17:40):
Mmmm, It's like it's like instead of starting with funding,
you start with the opposite of funding, which are obligations.
Nobody is going unless they were like dude, I would
totally independently fund this game and you know make it.
Speaker 3 (01:17:54):
No, like no, they needed like an expedition thirty three
situation you know, like that's like that's the hail marriage,
but you usually start.
Speaker 2 (01:18:04):
With that funding. You don't like fight exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:18:07):
Yeah, and like anyways, let me just continue and then
we can talk a little bit about it. So and
then this, I think this is the part that really
got me, like really upset, because after you read this,
it's like, really, your liquidation was in April. And then
they're like, well us, you know, back in a Kickstarter
project comes risk. The very idea of the platform is
(01:18:28):
to give creative a boost so that they can bring
their projects to life. It does not guarantee the final
commercialization of project, and therefore there is always a risk
it won't come through fruition. Neither the studio. No Kickstarter
is able to refund your contribution to the project, and
we are truly sorry for that. And for more information
you talk to the Kickstarter. It's like the most like
(01:18:49):
it's starting to turn into like the most non like
apologetic anything, like they just don't want any responsibility whatsoever.
It's just like, yeah, no, this is not just sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:19:00):
What what what's the appropriate way to in the event
of a failed Kickstarter? What does a good like sorry,
you're not getting your money back message look like, uh.
Speaker 3 (01:19:10):
Not this because here's the thing. When it comes to
like stuff like this, it's really, hey, you know the risk,
you know, like it doesn't happen and you're not getting
your money back. Sorry, I just I just this is
this sounds how should I put it? This sounds so impersonal.
It's not like we tried it just didn't work. It's like, yeah, no,
(01:19:34):
this is like probably what a lawyer told us to
write so that we'd be absorbed with all and any legal.
Speaker 2 (01:19:41):
Yeah, it does like it does definitely like the as
you know, that's sort of like, yeah, did I know that?
Are you sure? Are you saying that so that I
don't feel, you know, like I'm entitled to something.
Speaker 3 (01:19:58):
Yeah, exactly. And I just I hate it, this whole thing.
So that the end where we are and then you know,
more heartfelt da da da da da worthless. I think
the key point is that they declared liquidation in April
(01:20:20):
and then they released this note in June. Let's say
that they can't talk about it during the liquidation, which
I believe there's a lot of legal stuff happening. They
can't push things out, they can't make public statements. I
get it, But what happened to you know, April first
or April second? Well, on April first, I had a
bad time to talk about anything serious because it's April
(01:20:41):
Fool's Day. But what about April fifth? How's that like?
Or April eighth? There's twenty days before? How about March second?
Is that a good day? Like I'm sure you know
you're not in good shape, like as late as March right,
or as the earliest March.
Speaker 2 (01:20:56):
You do have to wonder, like, so, oh, I wonder
if part of the problem where they still that they
weren't still accepting Kickstarter kickstarts that laid into the game.
Were they like that's by that point the window had closed.
Speaker 3 (01:21:15):
I feel like if they wanted to, they can. They
can do like a second round of funding. They could
be like, hey, listen, we it doesn't look like things
are going well.
Speaker 2 (01:21:24):
I'm just trying to find out or figure out the
motivation if it was sort of like a, well, we
need to make sure that it's passed, like the ninety
day window from when our last Kickstarter was so that
we can't get charged backed or whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:21:38):
You know, it's when did the when did the campaign start?
I guess that it's.
Speaker 2 (01:21:45):
Been like a year that Kickstarter happened. The release of
that video was.
Speaker 3 (01:21:51):
There were five thousand beckers, like almost five one hundred
people who like never get the money back. And then
there are people who like really throw in the big money. Yeah,
I see like people who were like threw in like
eight hundred pounds. These five people are so pissed. Oh yeah,
(01:22:12):
so pissed. They threw eight hundred pounds each, you know,
to get the legendary statue and a private discord. Okay,
they pie got that a Deaf Team. Oh, they're gonna
get the Deaf Team t shirt. Can you imagine that.
They're like, no game, But here's the T shirt with.
Speaker 2 (01:22:31):
Paid eight hundred dollars for an indie RPG and all that.
That was this lousy T shirt.
Speaker 3 (01:22:37):
Okay, I'm sorry, I'm not laughing at them. I'm just
laughing at the city in my head as they try
to make it right, they're not. I feel bad for
these people, and I also just so just so you know,
I threw in what how much money do I put in?
I put in? I hold on, I probably did. They
(01:23:00):
probably fifty eight pounds, which is like not the end
of the world. But sure, knowing me, I probably went
for the physical copy. Just the physical copy. I don't
need anything else. But yeah, like I can you imagine
being one of these people or one of these people,
one of these fourteen twenty one unfortunate souls that threw
in four hundred pounds.
Speaker 2 (01:23:22):
That's rough. Yeah, so anyone's growing in y A good
reminder though to everybody that there are in fact risks
that come with kickstarting games. So, you know, and we
do showcase a lot of kickstarters for indies, it does
(01:23:45):
seem like most of the ones that we have that
we've shown off though, have come to fruition.
Speaker 3 (01:23:53):
Or at least they are actively engaged in, you know,
in yeah what is it called, while a lot of
them actually ends up having a publisher and they're fine.
Speaker 2 (01:24:03):
I could be wrong when I when I say this,
So take what I have to say with a grain
of salt because I haven't done any statistical analysis. But
it does seem like as far as like kickstarting projects go,
video games are kind of the more sure thing most
of the time. Yeah, because a lot of times those
indie deavs are really passionate and they'll continue to work
(01:24:24):
on them in their you know, spare time, the way
that they already have been for ages.
Speaker 3 (01:24:31):
So I think that's the other thing that like upsets
me a lot about this. I think you hit it
in the nail right there, because here's the thing. We've
talked to indie depths, you guys know it brought them
on the show to talk to them, and we we
hear stories about how they work like into the wee
(01:24:52):
hours on their own without funding and just continue it
even as a passion product. Even if there's no more funding.
They would just do it as a hobby. It will
take indefinitely longer, but they will keep working on it, right.
Speaker 2 (01:25:07):
Yeah, So the only way you like is, yeah, you
start spending money, like going into debt to buy things like.
Speaker 3 (01:25:19):
Like, look, I I don't recommend them, like, it's not
that I think that they should be fiscally irresponsible and
just go into debt to make it happen. Though. Let's say,
for example, if I am one of the developers on
this thing and the company closes, I would be like, hey, look,
we ran off money, we couldn't keep going keep working
(01:25:40):
on it. However, I'm going to keep working on it.
It's like a side thing. I don't know when and
when this will come out, but I'm not dropping it
and just being there.
Speaker 2 (01:25:52):
See you guys later getting walk. I think this is
why they They definitely went into some kind of debt
m like in the process of developing this. Otherwise you
wouldn't have to liquidate your assets when you run out
of funding. You'll have assets when even then you need
to pay off then.
Speaker 3 (01:26:13):
Yeah, so the company files for bankrusty. Now I don't
know how. I don't know how the laws would work in.
Speaker 2 (01:26:22):
You know, it would probably be auctioned off the IP rights.
Speaker 3 (01:26:25):
Yeah, but but if they if the IP rights didn't
get sold and they're only liquidating like physical capital like assets,
the creator still owns the IP right. It's just that's
what That's what the document read like. They're like, one
day someone will step up and do it, right. I'm like, okay,
(01:26:47):
And if that's the case, they could just keep working
on it, you know, as professional and just like Bonafie.
You know bonafi work, right, they could just do it
on their off hours. They do it like I work
on it six hours a week, and we'll work on
it until it's done. Yeah, and then we'll find a
(01:27:07):
publisher and then they will publish it, right, they could
do that. A lot of indie developers do that without
a grand studio. So it's not like there isn't a way.
We've talked to indie depths. They've explained to us how
they do it, but this is not the route they chose.
They chose to just just just drop it, just like yep, nope,
(01:27:28):
this is done. Yeah. No, we couldn't find publisher. Goodbye.
Someone will pick it up one day, who knows, we'll see.
It's very irresponsible.
Speaker 2 (01:27:37):
Yeah, it feels bad.
Speaker 3 (01:27:38):
Nothing about this tells me that they were being responsible
to the people who have shown them the love and
trusted them with their money. So I am not happy
with how they handle this at all.
Speaker 2 (01:27:51):
Yeah, it seems like that's yeah, this is and I
think that was. This also a game that was developed
in France.
Speaker 3 (01:28:00):
I believe.
Speaker 2 (01:28:01):
So there's probably different laws and things that apply to
IP rights when somebody you know, So it's hard. I
don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:28:11):
Yeah, the only thing that I don't exactly know is
when it comes to bankruptcy laws now, when it comes
to IP and when it comes to like accounting laws.
Surprisingly similar to the states like EU is surprisingly similar
to the States for all these reasons, especially like like
(01:28:35):
patents and that sort of stuff is actually intellectual property
is actually surprisingly similar to the States. It's just the
business laws. I'm not exactly certain, but if they are
a if they set up like an LLC or something
to that effect, and the LC is liquidated, but if
they have it so that the owner still retains the
(01:28:58):
right to DP, they could certainly just keep working on it.
Speaker 2 (01:29:03):
There's nothing I guess it depends on how you structured it,
Like did you say, this is my IP that I
have as this business entity, and I am allowing you
to use it for your development.
Speaker 3 (01:29:15):
So the thing that struck me about that may not
necessarily be the case. And again here's the other things
that I'm not certain if they would have written it
out here, but I feel like if that was the case,
they would have written something along the lines of this
IP is now owned by another entity and if they
(01:29:37):
so choose to move forward it, then that would be
like they're like discretion something to that effect, right, But
they didn't say that. They said maybe a third party
will come up and take over who knows that? And again,
even just the tone of that sounds extremely irresponsible. It's
not we're actively looking for a third party despite closing
(01:29:58):
the studio. True, we're hoping to find someone who will
continue to legacy. It wasn't that. It's like, no, we're
just not going to do anything. It's also nothing else.
Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
It also feels like there's very little to inspire a
third party to get on board, since we haven't really
heard a whole heck of a lot since the Kickstarter campaign.
Speaker 3 (01:30:21):
Kickstarter but apparently doesn't playable demo. At least release the
dang demo. I don't know, like we paid your good money, Like,
just release the stupid demo. I don't know. No, but
maybe they can't do that. Okay, maybe that's a hair
too far releasing things. But just it's just the whole
document just sounds very removed, like they're they're removed from
(01:30:45):
this situation personal. We're not responsible, We're not going to
do anything too bad.
Speaker 2 (01:30:50):
Could it be a translation thing?
Speaker 3 (01:30:53):
It could be, but the facts of the matter is,
for example, the whole thing about declaring liquidation on April
would not saying anything prior that is not didn't do
a translation, So action speaks louder than words, and I
just don't feel like they have been very transparent or
responsible to their credit.
Speaker 2 (01:31:13):
I will say, and glancing over this, I don't see
any M dashes or.
Speaker 3 (01:31:22):
So it's not Chatchipt written. Is that?
Speaker 2 (01:31:24):
It probably not, or at least it's been you know,
gone over with a fine toothed comb. So somebody, somebody
probably actually wrote this.
Speaker 3 (01:31:34):
They probably had an actual lawyer who used chatjipt to
write it and then remove all the am dashers professionally.
Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
Maybe maybe that's it.
Speaker 3 (01:31:43):
You know, you could also just tell Chatchipt did not
use M dashes. You couldn't and they will do it.
Speaker 2 (01:31:49):
I mean, but there's there's other tells, and.
Speaker 3 (01:31:51):
I don't that's true. Yeah, we're not.
Speaker 2 (01:31:55):
Just making the next big RPG. We're revolutionizing how rpg
are made.
Speaker 3 (01:32:03):
Yeah, I don't like. I don't like how detached this
whole thing sounded. But to your point, it could be
a translation thing, but it doesn't resolve them of you know,
like the actions that they have taken or the lack thereof. Right. Yeah,
so there it is. That is the whole rent with
el Zara. I feel like I've got my fifty dollars
(01:32:25):
warfed back of complaints like sixty. Uh well yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:32:31):
Okay, well yeah, if you got burned everybody, you know what,
let us know in the comments down below if you
if you've been burned on Kickstarter backs of RPGs or
is this your first time? Like how common is it?
Because it feels pretty uncommon. And the fact that like
(01:32:51):
this one that was just kind of like knocking around
in the back of my head for the last year
or so, like I'm like, oh yeah, Olizara went under.
Speaker 3 (01:32:58):
That was this is the first I've heard no while,
Like there was a time when Kickstarter was more of
a wah wah West, but once people understood how it
works and how the progression of the game funding should
work from like a developer, like it's a signing publisher.
Speaker 2 (01:33:16):
It feels like it's been streamlined.
Speaker 3 (01:33:18):
It's been pretty streamlined. Yeah, but this is the first
in a while of this major like mess up when
it comes to Kickstarter.
Speaker 2 (01:33:27):
Now here's the thing that I don't recall exactly. I
don't I don't think when they reached out to RPG
tubers to start with, I'm pretty sure it was not
a paid thing, if I if I recall correctly, I
think though that what they were doing was like sign
(01:33:50):
up now to get access to this, you know, information,
a week in advance, and something about it just felt weird.
So I just didn't really.
Speaker 3 (01:33:59):
Yeah, like, yeah, well, good thing you didn't. Well also,
if you did, you can have a series of not
so pleasant videos.
Speaker 2 (01:34:10):
Oh I could go in. Oh yeah, nothing, nothing gets
clicks like misery. I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:34:17):
Which. I learned a new word yesterday. I'm such a boomer.
I learned a new word. It's called drama farmer drama
farm drama farmer.
Speaker 2 (01:34:29):
Oh oh, I thought you said it was like within our.
Speaker 3 (01:34:31):
Drama drama drama farmer drama, fama drama fama.
Speaker 2 (01:34:40):
Yeah. Yeah, I feel like I know some drama farmers.
Speaker 3 (01:34:46):
Yeah, we all know a couple of those. Uh but
you know they sell clicks, that's what it is they
self use. Yeah. Uh so that concludes el Zara. Let's
move on to better news, shall we. Let's move on
on to a little bit more upbeat. Let's let's talk
about something fun. Ben Dynamico Showcase. And this that's not
me being sarcastic, like it is actually pretty cool. Ben
(01:35:08):
Dynamico Showcase happened on July second. Did you watch it
at all?
Speaker 2 (01:35:12):
No, should totally watch it.
Speaker 3 (01:35:15):
We didn't. I didn't. We didn't go over a lot
of things from there because like they're really just going
in depth into games that they have already announced. They
didn't really do any new announcements, so like Little Nookmar three,
Toll War, Super Robot Wars. They actually did a whole
segment of Super Robot Wars, which is pretty cool. I
was like, yeah, super Robot Wars. They talked about this
(01:35:35):
new character on techn or whatever, but like it's really cool. Yeah,
I don't know, like some type boxing guy and he looks.
Speaker 2 (01:35:42):
I'm just waiting to see like tales of remastered information.
Speaker 3 (01:35:46):
I was hoping there'll be motels have remastered, but I
feel like they're waiting for TGS for that. So that's
probably a good reason why they haven't like talked about it.
Speaker 2 (01:35:54):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:35:55):
But the thing that I really uh picked up on
from watching that whole uh showcase, actually it's not the games.
The games themselves already knew. It was like digimond or whatever.
Like we've talked about it multiple times. We've talked about
Super Bowl, we've talked about all these things. The thing
(01:36:15):
that really uh showed up that I feel like Square
Innix should learn from. Okay, and you'll understand why I
brought a Square Innix is because when they do each
of their segments, they have their respective games, like producer
or director talk about the game in front of the camera.
(01:36:37):
You get to see their faces and everything, and they
introduced themselves. It's like I'm the producer of Da Da,
I'm the director of blah blah blah. Right, here's the thing.
All of them are our age or younger. You see
what I'm You see what I'm getting at with this.
All these directors and producers, like the people who head
(01:36:59):
and these projects. I would say, like Mara three, super Bowl,
I would say.
Speaker 2 (01:37:03):
That they're young young blood. But when you said that
they're our age.
Speaker 3 (01:37:08):
Okay, well they're really compared to like Nomura or like
Tabata or Yoship, like we're not I was gonna say
these yet.
Speaker 2 (01:37:17):
This is this is why that this is why Square
Innox doesn't bring everybody out because they just have no
more doing everything.
Speaker 3 (01:37:23):
Well, now it's Yoship, no more went on vacation. Yoship
just like took over and now Yoship is like running
seven games. I don't know, but like that's the problem
right with Square Annex or some other company. Let let's
not pick on poor Square Innx all day. Like, there
are other companies to not even necessary gaming companies where
they refuse to sort of race from above, race from
(01:37:46):
within yea, and and try to develop their talent. But
this is what talent development is about, is giving them
the spot like, giving them the responsibilities, giving them the
freedom to create, and give them room to grow, right,
give the opportunity. But clearly Banda Namco knew what they
needed to do to sort of like raise like it,
(01:38:09):
for lack of better word, a new generation of these
like star producers and directors. Right, And if you watch
the showcase, that's actually the number one thing that stuck
out to me, Not the games themselves, but the games
themselves is whatever, it's the people working on the games yea.
So I highly recommend it that you guys take a
(01:38:30):
watch and then you tell me like, because I'm pretty
convinced that they're doing the right thing.
Speaker 2 (01:38:35):
Cool.
Speaker 3 (01:38:36):
Yeah yeah, And Scrannix, if you're watching, well probably not us,
but hopefully you saw Banda Namco showcase and you think
about what you're doing. Now, I think that they should
do more of that then pushing poor Yoship to like, Yoship,
you gotta work on sixteen and fourteen and the expansion
for fifteen and this other new project that we're now
(01:38:59):
making you the direct for and you have to also
design the character and write the plots. Thank you, just
produce five games?
Speaker 2 (01:39:08):
What let's let's bring let's bring no more back. I
want to see some more Zippers.
Speaker 3 (01:39:15):
I don't even know what Noma is doing anymore. So
he's just like working on Kingdom Hearts four only if
they have they learned to.
Speaker 2 (01:39:22):
It would be nice if he just had one thing
to focus on for a while.
Speaker 3 (01:39:26):
It's funny because I was just talking about this with
a friend yesterday and she was she's a huge Kingdom
Heart fans. He's like god, even she was like, no
more is terrible? Uh a, you know director.
Speaker 2 (01:39:41):
Yeah, yeah, he's a character designer.
Speaker 3 (01:39:44):
Yeah, unless he is, just unless there's one person who
is there who's constantly like you only allowed to make
one game, and one game at a time only.
Speaker 2 (01:39:55):
And I was like, did no more work on Final
Fantasy seven Rebirth?
Speaker 3 (01:40:00):
I think so?
Speaker 2 (01:40:01):
I think I'm gonna say he must have been involved
in that at some point because I know that he and.
Speaker 3 (01:40:06):
Kingdom Hearts four, which is why King Heart's four is like,
I don't I haven't heard anything about King War's for
in a minute. We talked about it around the Nvidia leak,
remember yeah, oh man, like it was like two weeks
later he was like, oh, here's Kingdom Mar's four and
then nothing else.
Speaker 2 (01:40:27):
Let's see. I want I want to look this back up. Okay.
It is officially been seven years since Bethesda announced Elder
Scrolls six. That was June tenth of twenty eighteen.
Speaker 3 (01:40:49):
Oh my god. Seven years just flies, man.
Speaker 2 (01:40:54):
Over seven years.
Speaker 3 (01:40:57):
Time flies, Oh my god. And it's still a baby streamer.
Speaker 2 (01:41:02):
Still still no trailer. Oh my gosh. That's anyways.
Speaker 3 (01:41:08):
Yeah, when it comes with that, in with that in mind,
with that in mind, m hm, not doing so bad.
Another company that we want to talk about that we love. Actually,
oh ye, let's talk about Sega mistakenly reviewed sales numbers.
Isn't that fun?
Speaker 2 (01:41:27):
Oh man?
Speaker 3 (01:41:29):
Yeah, let's share screen. Let's let's read this. Okay, So
this is uh we're at the gay Maazu website. Uh,
and then we're gonna read it. It was actually originally
reported by reset error so shout out to reset error
and also our friends over at gay Matsu. Uh. Sega
accidentally shared sales numbers of some of their biggest game
(01:41:49):
in a twenty five page pdf. Right, so according to
recent era, they had the Sega Sami Corporation, right, so
it's not Segas like Sega Sami they were. They released
a twenty five page pdf to UH for some kind
of a meeting.
Speaker 2 (01:42:05):
UH.
Speaker 3 (01:42:06):
Some poor some poor UH intern was probably a junior
analyst was probably responsible for like erasing these numbers, but instead,
because of the way that they had removed the members,
all they had to do was to highlight it and
(01:42:27):
the numbers there. So they didn't delete the numbers. They
just like changed it, I guess, so that it's just
like it's the same color. The number are still there.
Speaker 2 (01:42:42):
They highlighted it in black. Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (01:42:45):
No, so they're like, what what is hard? Technology is
a so hard? Guys. Anyways, this crazy story in its own,
but we got some numbers for Sega uh, and now
we know why they keep milking PERSONA five. Look at
(01:43:07):
these numbers for PERSONA five. This is why they keep
milking it.
Speaker 2 (01:43:11):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 3 (01:43:12):
Yep, It's like millions and millions of dollars like every
tick in year other than like this one year. Oh no,
we only made three hundred and fifty k. Yeah, no,
poor sales. Oh, I wonder is metaphors these sales numbers? Sorry,
they're not dollars, they're sells number. Oh we only sold
three hundred and fifty k? Oh no, yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:43:33):
Are the is metaphors not on there? Is it?
Speaker 3 (01:43:37):
Metaphour is not on here? No?
Speaker 2 (01:43:39):
That would have been That would have been good to see.
Speaker 3 (01:43:41):
That would have been good to see. But yeah, like
like a Dragon respectable, like one point one eight million
sold and then four hundred and eighty k. Yeah, not
bad for that series. Not bad. Oh. P three reload
also similarly not terrible. Right, oh yeah, that's probably gonna
sell a little bit more. A Sonic Supers are surprisingly well. Uh,
(01:44:02):
fans are pretty dedicated with so that much. Yeah, I
mean they kind of have to be to still be
so fans. Uh, the men who raise his name. So
this is the spinoff with you respectable Actually for a
spinoff games a million almost million. That's that's not bad.
That's not bad sales numbers. These are not dollars, that's
(01:44:25):
not how much they made. How many copies they've sold?
Pretty good? Uh, Sonic Frontier not bad? Right, it's three
point two million copies sold on the first year.
Speaker 2 (01:44:35):
That's that's pretty jope.
Speaker 3 (01:44:37):
Yeah. Uh so overall they're there, Their numbers are pretty healthy.
Uh So, I'm glad they like they shared it or
not shared it. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:44:47):
Yeah, I mean accidentally shared, but that's fine.
Speaker 3 (01:44:50):
That's Is it an accident?
Speaker 2 (01:44:54):
They they leaked their sales numbers? Yeah, I mean, is
there any reason that they wouldn't let that information out
at some point?
Speaker 3 (01:45:02):
I honestly don't know, other than maybe some kind of
market manipulation. They yeah, Well, I feel like.
Speaker 2 (01:45:12):
If you're a public company, then you have to release
your sales numbers, But if.
Speaker 3 (01:45:17):
You have to release your financial numbers, you can say
how much you have made in certain areas, but you
don't have to announce physical copy numbers, you know what
I mean?
Speaker 2 (01:45:29):
Okay, that's true, that's true.
Speaker 3 (01:45:31):
Like we may five hundred million yen, But how does
it break down? They don't have to say yeah, yeah, interesting? Yeah,
So there you go, guys. That are pretty interesting stuff. Again.
Shout out to Game out Too and Resa Air. They've
done all the digging. We're just telling you on our podcasts.
Speaker 2 (01:45:48):
They did the highlighting.
Speaker 3 (01:45:50):
They have they the highlighting. I mean, to their credit,
they found the fact that the numbers are there. They're like,
oh my god, what is going on?
Speaker 2 (01:45:59):
And we are just helping highlight their highlighting.
Speaker 3 (01:46:02):
Yeah, we're highlighting their highlights. That's exactly what we're doing.
All right. So that's Sega speaking of companies. They're making
a huge comeback. Uh. Now, let's talk about a Silent
Hill remake. I did make a tweet on this. This
is not like a crazy big story, but it's kind
of a pretty cool story. The remake of the original
(01:46:24):
Signing Hill game is in development now and it is
being developed and none other than Blooper Team, which worked
on I know them too. Yeah you know them. You
played a game from them before?
Speaker 2 (01:46:35):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we go way back when I when
we hit a thousand subscribers, I'll play uh more maybe
whenever that.
Speaker 3 (01:46:46):
Happened, finished the game, finished the game. I think it's cool.
Good for good for uh, good for Konami. Konami is
uh making kind of a comeback.
Speaker 1 (01:46:59):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:46:59):
And you know, here's the thing, Like, if they are
making a comeback, and all the there's basically anyone who's
working on these things are maybe relatively new. Does that
mean that they are already just like not needing to
worry about the old Guard situation too much? I don't know,
because I didn't see who's working on these things on
(01:47:20):
their end, But like Sina Hill f is a completely
fresh tick, which is really cool. The Guilty Gear and
the Guilty Gear. Uh, the Metal Gear game Delta that's
coming that also looks really good despite Koljima not being involved. Uh.
Sound Hill too obviously was a huge success to the
(01:47:42):
point that they are, you know, unprecedented perhaps, and now
the sun Hill one is getting remakeed. They're doing all
the right things, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:47:51):
I can't wait for them to have a little bit
of money in their pockets so they can start doing
a few weird side projects.
Speaker 3 (01:47:57):
That would be nice.
Speaker 2 (01:47:58):
It would be really weird.
Speaker 3 (01:48:00):
That's a really weird.
Speaker 2 (01:48:02):
Because because they did that, Swee could in uh remaster,
that's right, Yeah, they did that too, So I'd like
to see another maybe remaster speakuld in three through five? Okay, yeah,
it'd be pretty cool. Like five people five is good? Yeah,
people don't like four. I like four, people like four,
(01:48:24):
but yeah, five is generally, I think, considered like the
second best of the Oh really, uh huh yeah generally
you know, so the best one three. A lot of
people say two it is the best, that's like the
big one. But I liked five a lot. I mean,
(01:48:46):
take take what I say with a grain of salt.
I haven't been keeping a pulse on the community in
the last few years after I finished the series. But
but yeah, I wouldn't really like to see the PS
two games be more playable on modern platforms. That'd be
pretty cool. But here's the big would be nice. Here's
the really big one though, uh, going gombuddy the series,
(01:49:10):
like we we have the Spiritual Successor. I can't remember
what it's called it anymore, but it's.
Speaker 3 (01:49:17):
Five works one Yeah, the drummer guy. Yeah, the drum
guy that looks so cool.
Speaker 2 (01:49:22):
It Yeah, whatever happened to that? I need to look
that up. It's probably yeah, it's probably been out for
like a year.
Speaker 3 (01:49:27):
I don't's been out. We we we covered it, yeah,
we did cover it, Okay, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:49:31):
But but anyways, I like go, and I like and
uh and and I just I want to see more.
Speaker 3 (01:49:41):
Yeah, I also want to see more of that. I
grew up playing that game series, and I can't say
that understood everything that was going on because they used
them pretty complex Japanese. I didn't really understand a lot
of puns, a lot of puns probably, and and that's
why I didn't understand what they're saying half the time. Times.
But I would like to revisit that series, but this
(01:50:03):
time in a language that I'm more comfortable with.
Speaker 2 (01:50:06):
Dude, we'll see the six The Nintendo sixty four games
were a lot of fun. Yeah. One of them, Mystical
Ninja starring Goemo, is an action adventure game, not entirely
unlike Zelda. Huh, like like Akreena of Time ish, I
would say, closest closest thing to Akrena of Time on
(01:50:27):
the sixty four that is not a Zelda game. There's
it's also a lot of fun things they can do,
not a lot of competition, but it was a lot
of fun.
Speaker 3 (01:50:39):
Yeah. Yeah, So all right, next bit of news. We
briefly talked about this. Uh, this is in regards to
Bits Summit, thirteenth Bits some of us, some of you
may know, is the largest indie game festival in Japan's.
(01:51:00):
So it's kind of like thank TGS, but like indie games.
Oh yeah, Japan. Yeah. So this is their thirteenth, as
the name would imply, you know, event, and it is
going to happen in July eighteenth through July twentieth, and
you can expect us to cover a bunch of new
(01:51:22):
indie games around that time. I don't remember when TGS
is happening. When is TGS happening this year? Oh? No, mean,
look I could google it, but five September okay, okay, Yeah,
So this is gonna be like the you know, the
what's the word the appetizer if you to the insanity
(01:51:46):
that is going to come later towards the end of
summer beginning of autumn.
Speaker 2 (01:51:50):
Right, so, dude, autumn is stacked. This is going to
be a rough, a rough autumn for a lot of us.
I think.
Speaker 3 (01:52:02):
It's always uh so great to be able to talk
about all these exciting things coming and then you look
at your backlog and you're not just and for content creators,
not just the backlog, but your work backlog.
Speaker 2 (01:52:18):
How dare you mention my backlog to me? Sir?
Speaker 3 (01:52:24):
Is it?
Speaker 2 (01:52:24):
Is it not bad enough? I have all of these
staring me in the face every day, and I'm just like,
I'm playing oblivion again. I have to live with my guilt.
Speaker 3 (01:52:34):
Okay, you know what I've been obsessed with lately. I've
been obsessed with playing this game called repo lately. Have
you ever heard of repo? No? So, Repo is what
they and I just learned this new term. It's called
friend slop. But basically it's like a pretty simple game,
(01:52:55):
right uh and uh. Friend slops are just like pretty
simple game that doesn't have very deep like lore or whatever,
but it's fun to play with your friends. Okay, Like,
what is it that like animal battle game? Like there
was just one no, no, no, no no, it's it's
(01:53:15):
a multiplayer game where you play it's like animals and
then like it's like this like deaf match situation and
it's like a three D map and you just like
fling your friends off the map and like it's it's silly,
it's fun. There's really done. I think I can ye, yeah,
I got a look this stuff. Like oh, Party Animals.
(01:53:43):
The game is called Party Animals. It's a really fun
game to play with your friends. Yeah. But yeah, basically
it's like this three D animal avatar. You're thrown into
a map with like random weapons and random maps, and
then you just have to like fling your friends off
the map and try to be the last person surviving. Right,
So it's like stuff like that, but re.
Speaker 2 (01:54:02):
Kind of like the sounds kind of like that game
that has the reg doll physics that are off the
wall and you're trying to like do an obstacle course
with a one hundred other people.
Speaker 3 (01:54:12):
Yes, similar to that, but in an arena in the
kind of like an arena with like you know, uh,
with like hazards on on on the map, if you will, Yeah,
and many different maps to play with your friends.
Speaker 2 (01:54:30):
Why I don't talk about friends slap games. I talk
about RPGs because I actually know.
Speaker 3 (01:54:33):
What they do. Repo was so fun, I was. I
started playing Repot with some friends and like, I'm so
hooked up. But you you're a bunch of robots that
have to go into like a randomly generated map to
like retrieve like uh valuables basically, and then like monsters
would come out and attack you, and then you can
(01:54:54):
this friendly fire. You can accidentally kill your friends, like
you know, act accidentally kill your fri it's a lot
of fun. But I've been I've been pretty stuck playing
recompletely ignoring my backlog because I just needed something that
I don't need to think about and I'm just like
having fun with people and like I don't care and
(01:55:16):
I'm not analyzing this freaking game. Which, by the way,
the game is like really well built anyway, so it's
not like they just slapped a bunch of stuff together
and just charged you like an upsetting amount. It's like, yeah,
five point ninety nine, it's like nothing, and it plays
and it's fun, So definitely a great palate cleanser compared
to something like, you know, I don't know, a Trails
(01:55:39):
or a Tails game, and it's like super involved, like ah,
so much dread and the world's ending and it's five
hundred hours long. A yeah, this is definitely something I needed.
AnyWho that spit summit, and the last piece of news
that we have from the industry for you all is
Persona Live Concert. Speaking of Persona and them milking this, yeah,
(01:56:05):
this is actually I don't think this is like a
milking situation. Now, this is the first time that Persona
Live Concert is coming to the West and also to
the States.
Speaker 2 (01:56:16):
So during the.
Speaker 3 (01:56:19):
Yeah, you never saw it coming the Anime Expo that
took place over the weekend actually just this weekend's Anime
Expo in California. Atlas confirmed that Persona Live concert will
be coming to Los Angeles in January of twenty twenty six,
so next year, and this will be the first Persona
(01:56:40):
live concert to be held in the States and in
the West. You know, brought it, uh they I think
they had one in Taiwan, to have one in China,
interesting choice of places. But now they're coming to the States. Yeah,
over taking to other places that they have done concert
(01:57:00):
in China and Taiwan, right, so they've they've never they've
not really brought it out to like Europe or the
rest of the world. This is only the third place
outside of Japan. That's cool experience, which is pretty cool
and like Persona music is really good, so uh okay,
you know what, Like hearing Takeover live would be pretty crazy.
(01:57:21):
I don't know, like it's so hyped. Uh there's a
lot of nice vocal tracks with like the live performing artists.
I think it's gonna be fantastic, dude.
Speaker 2 (01:57:33):
I think it would be so cool to get like
an album of one of their live performances.
Speaker 3 (01:57:39):
They might have it, so like they have certain like
CDs for example, for some of these like live concerts.
I don't know how they would do it, but like
Square NX, right, they have the near concert. They have
like Distant World, which is.
Speaker 2 (01:57:56):
Like a lot of time. You can also watch it
on YouTube or something. Recordings of them, they have decent recordings,
but like it'd be pretty cool to be able to
get like a press of because oh yeah, did you
imagine could you imagine listening to like God, okay, what's
the what's the song that plays in persona five when
(01:58:19):
you're like in your downtime it's raining outside beneath the mask,
but like the instrumental version, Yeah, but go ahead and
have like the vocals. But then like let's go into
like a twenty minute like solo like free Forum jazz,
like solo in the middle of Oh God, dude, I
would I would.
Speaker 3 (01:58:38):
I would play that daily that sounds so good.
Speaker 2 (01:58:41):
Just let them take the entire like a side of
of the.
Speaker 3 (01:58:46):
Of But we should we should hype responsibly.
Speaker 2 (01:58:49):
We should.
Speaker 3 (01:58:50):
We're just we're just dreaming things right now? Is wishful thinking?
We don't know it's gonna actually have it, but if
they did, that would be by that album in a heartbeat.
Speaker 2 (01:59:01):
Yeah, dude, I get it. Persona albums are expensive af
yeah amusic.
Speaker 3 (01:59:07):
Oh man, I wonder how quickly these tickets will sell out,
like minutes.
Speaker 2 (01:59:14):
I mean, some people will spend one thousand bucks on
a pressing. I wouldn't be surprised if people wild spend
a little more for a life experience.
Speaker 3 (01:59:22):
Oh jeez, Persona, I know, man, But there you go.
There you have it, guys, Persona Live concert coming January
twenty twenty six. I'm sure we'll hear more about it
in like the month or two leading up to it
for you to buy tickets blah blah blah, and when
that happens, and if we catch win of it, we'll
let you guys know when the tickets on sales so
(01:59:44):
that you can try your luck and you know, camp
at a Ticketmaster or something with like seven browsers and
hold you get into a queue, get luck.
Speaker 2 (01:59:54):
So before we wind down, we did have a couple
of super chats come in throughout the show, both of
them from Anthony h. Hey. So this first one actually
came in before the show even started, and he says,
happy Sunday, I recently watched an old episode from years ago.
Within the same ten minutes, Derek predicted game key cards
(02:00:17):
basically and Oblivion remastered. Amazing. I appreciate the show. Well,
thank you, Anthony. I have not any recollection of making
those predictions, but I'll gladly take credit. If you could
tell me what episode that was, let me know. I
want to check that out. Yes, that would be super cool.
(02:00:38):
And then Anthony also had another message here says baku
what is your personal favorite game of the year so far?
Do I should I take a guess of what your
game of the year is? Go for it, all right?
Speaker 3 (02:00:54):
Do you know what I played this year? No? Have you?
Speaker 2 (02:00:58):
Have you played Expedition thirty three?
Speaker 3 (02:01:00):
Sang it? Yeah, I think Expedition thirty three is my
personal game in the year for this year so far.
I mean the year is only we've only passed the
midway point for the year, so who knows, maybe something
else crazy will come up. I did enjoy if it
(02:01:22):
counts for this year or last year, you know Yakuza Pirates.
But as far as light, the pallish is concern. If
I have to be unbiased, you know, because obviously my
bias is towards an entire Yakus series. Sure they have
to be unbiased and just speaking in terms of like
(02:01:42):
game to game like without consideration of any like attached
like feelings to a series. Expedition thirty three takes the
cake easy. It's just such a well put together experience
that is esthetically pleasing a citizen, intriguing thematically, and it's
(02:02:05):
so well done. It's so well done phrases.
Speaker 2 (02:02:09):
But when did you play metaphor Refantasia? When did that finish?
Was that this year or was that last year?
Speaker 3 (02:02:15):
I feel like it is this year now. Metaphor is
also good. The only thing that Metaphor didn't do for
me is brevity, which obviously Atlas is not known for.
And at this point in my life, I would prefer
them to keep their experience a little shorter, a little
more succited. Sure, yeah, it's like too much of a
good thing? Is too much of a good thing?
Speaker 2 (02:02:38):
I will say a little bit long that all all
of this hype around Expedition thirty three makes it a
little tough to like want to go play it, because
because I don't know, there's something about it about all
of the hype specifically that as me like apprehensive about
playing it. Maybe it's because I feel like there are
(02:03:00):
expectations that I really enjoy it and that I have
to like it, and that if I don't make a
video about it, and if I don't really like it,
then like I don't know that it's like some pressure
to to like make about it and talk about it
and enjoy.
Speaker 3 (02:03:15):
It and just secretly play and never tell anyone.
Speaker 2 (02:03:19):
Well maybe I did, oh I didn't, but yeah, I
mean I think maybe that's why I haven't played it yet,
is just legitimately like I don't know when I when
I play a game.
Speaker 3 (02:03:34):
Like it's yeah, I don't think it's weird. I think
it's years of you being a content creator in the
space and like just having that experience with maybe some
other games that had been told to you that it
was phenomenal, and then you're like, I don't think it
(02:03:55):
was that good, and then people are coming with Pitchforks.
It's like that PT yes, sure, yeah, there's a certain
game series that you're refusing to.
Speaker 2 (02:04:05):
Ever bring up ever again, right or the counter side
of that is like I will enjoy the heck of
that game and I'll make a video. I'll put in
a lot of work into it. But I've made the
video like two years too late, and nobody cares like
that's like, I don't know. I feel like I'm Charlie
Brown with the football and like everyone's like, come on,
it's a really good football, go give it a kick.
(02:04:28):
I don't know, we'll see.
Speaker 3 (02:04:30):
You're not gonna miss. I don't. I don't think you're
gonna miss.
Speaker 2 (02:04:33):
I mean, as long as my goal for it is
to just find enjoyment, I think I think that'll be fine.
Speaker 3 (02:04:39):
Yeah, I do think you should play it, because it
does change my perspective about the story telling. Like, yes,
other people can tell equally compelling story. It's not like
it's only Japan that can do this or only Americ
(02:05:00):
that can do this. Other people can also do it
and they did. It. Is this testament of what the
future holds, I think, and experiencing that would make you
a believer, if not already. So I think that if
nothing else, I think that's the main takeaway for me
is be on the lookout for the next expedition thirty
(02:05:22):
three from a different part of the world that you
didn't associate with game making necessarily, right, So that's that's
my takeaway. Anyhow, well cool, yeah, all right, well and
that's it for tonight.
Speaker 2 (02:05:37):
That is thank you all so much for joining us tonight.
It has been a pleasure to stream for you. I
hope you enjoyed today's episode. If you did, give that
like button some love, I really do appreciate it and
it helps the show grow. But until then, until next week,
because we do stream every single Sunday, until next week,
single Sunday, have a great rest of your night. Everybody, bye,
(02:05:59):
good bye.
Speaker 1 (02:06:19):
Still set some campu stiver the place
Speaker 3 (02:07:06):
He m
