Speaker 1 (00:02):
A saying, hey, everybody, welcome back to Hit Point, an

(01:09):
anime news show, a j RPG news show, a niche
new show, A show where Buku and I stream every
talk about everything and everything that catches our interest and.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Or I are.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
We stream live every single Sunday at seven pm Central
APM Eastern time. We'll be previewing some trailers, talking about
some new game announcements, some games that already exist that
are coming out again is going to be awesome, And
at the end of the show, we'll be responding to
super chats. Just throwing that out there, and guys, a

(01:42):
quick heads up. I know, I know so many people
here are already waiting for it. But the fact of
the matter is we were planning on doing an interview
with Chinsey today, but that did not happen for a
few circumstances. And we'll maybe talk about that a little
later on, or maybe we won't, just a you know,
not address, but as we will be having an interview

(02:02):
soon though, so that's still on the horizon, but just
not tonight unfortunately. But anyways, Buck, it's been about a
week since you and I last saw each other, but
it's been about even longer than that since we had
a chance to actually talk. How are you doing? Man?

Speaker 2 (02:22):
I am doing fantastics to just finished what is it
called Metaphal Refantasio yesterday, so I am, oh now ready
to move on with Like I feel like a huge undertaking.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Yeah, it's like a chapter of your life has come
to a close, you know, yes, it really has.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Oh boy, I think what Metaphor was like I think
it was like one hundred and ten hours, but you
guys got to understand a lot of that was like
on stream hours. Yeah, so it's many a days. Yeah,
that has taken Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
So that's the funny thing about this is like we'll
look back on you will look back on this day
and you'll be like, man, I remember that. I remember
the day I beat Metaphor Refantasio. And then and then
like we'll be like, man, I don't remember anything about
when I when I got my my degree or whatever
in life of studies, Like, yeah, yeah, that did happen.

(03:24):
I don't remember anything about that.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
But I remember everything from Metaphor Refantasio exactly exactly.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
I mean. But that's the sort of thing that really matters.
That's that's what's gonna stick with us. In the end.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Right, Yeah, the degree was nothing, but metaphor is everything.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
That's right. I don't know, actually I haven't. I haven't
played that much metaphor, but I really enjoyed what I did.
How how how did you like it?

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Was it?

Speaker 3 (03:50):
What would you give it out of ten?

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Oh, I'd say a solid eight out of ten.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Nice, that's that's really good.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
It is. I would definitely recommend it for folks who
are into turn based RPGs. Yeah. Sometimes in I'll just
say this, sometimes in RPGs JRPG variety, they try to
do this very grand philosophical, you know, moral condition kind

(04:20):
of thing, and then it just falls flat in the
end because it's kind of like, what do you think? Like,
they don't give you any kind of they don't put
the foot down on anything that they really believe in.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
They fall short of actually delivering the message. They're just like,
we're just asking questions.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Yeah, we're just asking questions. And it's like kind of like,
but this this is different, Like they really they Yeah,
they they're like, Okay, this is what we think it
should happen, and they're really putting their foot down on things. Obviously,
they still admit that there's some things that they don't
really know the answer to, and that's where they're going

(04:58):
to be humble about it. Uh, but they will. They're
not afraid to speak their mind in what they think
should be the case. It speaks to a lot of flake.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
I feel like that's the difference between art and just
you know, well pop pop culture stuff like That's that's
one of the defining differentiators. It's like art should have
a message in the end, and it shouldn't just like
raise questions like it should be like, nah, I have

(05:30):
I have this feeling and this is this should be
the thing.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
I think raising questions and opening up the dialogue is fine.
Just a second, yeah, sorry, Amy was asking me. Yeah,
just small emergency.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
We'll want to.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Take a quick second and make sure things are okay.
I can hold a hold a crowd before we start.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah, I'll do that. Baku take the
wheel as well as Cherkoon. Thank you so much. I'll
be right back, guys.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Yes, I'm gonna I'm gonna talk to the chat real quick.
Let's just say hello to everyone who's coming in here
right now, baby, and welcome to our podcast. Eagle Knight Welcome,
Razor EGGX, Welcome, Miami Sunrise. Welcome, Sam Sparks, Welcome. How
you guys doing tonight? Yes, I just finished Metaphor. Refantasio
joining me now is Cherkoon right here? They see Chercoon

(06:27):
and Mike Coon over there in backdrop Coon, I'm taking
a wheel. Yeah, and immediately the viewership plummets to single digit.
We all know we're here for Derek. I get it. Yeah,
the Metaphor was fantastic. So if anyone has not played
Metaphor yet, I highly recommend it. I'm actually love you

(06:51):
to bro. I'm actually you know, since since we have
a second, if you all don't mind me sharing stuff,
I actually have a tiny request if you have a second,
and that is I am I've made a poll, yes,

(07:14):
exactly what you're asking about their Miami Sunrise, which is
I've made a poll about what game I would want
to play next, and I've got six games that I'm
interested in that I feel like I would really enjoy.
But it's kind of like streamers, like some you know,

(07:37):
happy medium between what I want to play and what
people want to watch. Right, So I here are the
six games that I want to play, and then you
tell me what you want to watch from there, and
then we'll find one that makes sense. And it may
very well be that I will play all of it
is just a matter of order, right, or maybe i'll

(07:59):
play through them, like just the top three. I don't know. Hey,
welcome back, mister Derek.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
All right, thank you so much for waiting for me.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Yeah, that's that's the beauty of doing live live news.
So perhaps I don't know how far did you get?
Did you just talk about any news or just talk
about stuff so far?

Speaker 2 (08:23):
I gave them a link on games that I planned
to play next, and now I'm like, why don't you
go vote on one of those things? Oh yeah, if
you have a second. Yeah, I've got a couple of
games on the list. A Trails game is on the list,
if you will.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
What which one?

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Crossbow?

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Well, that's that's that's awesome. Like you haven't played any
of the Crossbowl ones yet, right?

Speaker 2 (08:48):
I haven't, and I've been kind of saving it for
stream because I feel like it's streame worthy.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
What's one thing that started to do is I started
playing games off stream period, Like, just no streaming of
this game because it's just like free time between meetings,
I hop on play for like fifteen twenty minutes I
get back to work. It's not like a thing where
I can just like stream and then like yeah for
twenty minutes or something. And that has actually been very

(09:21):
good for me for my like mental headspace. Yeah. Yeah,
because as a streamer, and this is one of those
things where like if you don't stream, you might not understand,
but like as a streamer, if you're streaming a game
and you're dedicated, like this is the game that I'm
going to stream, there are times when you're like, I
have some free time I want to play, but not

(09:41):
long enough for a stream to be worthwhile. No would
anyone come and watch because it's off hour, But I
want to play it and I'll make progress. So then
when you do stream it, you're like, Dan, I could
have finished this game like a month ago, had I
been able to make some progress something off time, and
then it just kind of waits on you like now

(10:03):
it's taken like way too long. Uh, and and they're
all these backlogs. It's like everything's kind of connected. So yeah,
so by being able to finish some games off stream
has actually been like just alleviating my whole thing about
like not being able to play a lot of these
things that are coming out on day one. I'm like, dang,

(10:23):
and now I got to put it in the backlogs
because it's not healthy. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's a
it's a streamer problem, guys, it's a streamer problem.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Well I get that. And yeah, being able to play
something offstream just to as a palate cleanser is probably
pretty nice. Honestly though, being able to just play the
demo of My Familiar was a pretty nice break from
the pattern of like not playing games that I've been
in for the last while. It felt good to be
backstreaming last weekend. And uh, and dude, that was that

(10:55):
was a really fun game.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Yes, man, I'm glad you enjoyed it, man, because I
certainly enjoyed it when I played it.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
And felt really bad if we were playing through the
game and it turned out I didn't like it at all, Like, dude,
what did you get me into?

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Oh no, it's like.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
The ultimate like when you start to show like a
coworker this YouTube video or whatever, and they're just like,
you know, when does it get good? And you're like
five minutes ago and then you're like, oh god, oh god.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Well, you know, I played a game. I feel like
this is something you enjoy. I took it, I took
a bet and it paid off.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
I think I think so too. I'd say absolutely. So, Well,
should we go ahead and get started with talking about
some of the games that well would normally be coming out,
but really it's more like some some up up came games. Yeah,
let's sect.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Way to put it. These games came out after during
the time we were kind of on hiatus, and we
just want to geek out over them, honestly. So let's
start with the first one. The remaster for Zeno Blade
Chronicles X Definitive Edition has obviously came out, and I'm
sure some of you guys are playing it before the

(12:15):
people who have not gotten it yet or started playing it.
Let me tell you a little bit about this remaster.
It actually features new story content, which is fantastic. It's
not just like a we made it pretty and we're
selling as a full, brand new game. There is new
story content. There's a whole new region to explore, new characters.

(12:35):
They have removed the Blade levels, thank goodness, and the
ability they've added the ability to change time in the menu,
and so much more so they've done a lot of tweaking,
a lot of quality of life stuff and also new content.
Let's take a look at the trailer.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Oh sure, all right, ye do the do there's the button? Okay,
I'm a little out of practice here, so bear with me.
Ju Oh, I think I might have a little ver
see I think there might have been a little echo.

(13:12):
Hopefully not too much should be sorted now, that should
only a.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Small handful and managed to escape. But our past caught
up with this.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
Oh yeah, oh it looks so good. Now, watch out
if you if you haven't been online lately, because I've
heard that the game leaked online like a week early
and people were already spoiling a lot of the a
lot of the things that were new people. So yeah,
we're not going to talk about any of that.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
So yeah, I mean this is a long trailers, so
I don't worry about Oh yeah, yeah, be this determined
to destroy. This looks so good that they they've done
a great job remastering.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
Though the question is it gonna look as good or
better on switch to Yeah, oh, I.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
Certainly hope so to eradicate it my question, and I'm
and this is not asking for an answer right now.
My question personally is will they sort of direct con
some of the you know, like chronicles, like you know,
story elements in here, and like make clear how this

(14:28):
if it does connect with the other three games. I
know a lot of people have some views on like, oh,
they've hinted this on that and you have to read
like a book on this and that and you no, no, no no.
I want them to be like, yeah, this is set
in blank in relation to blank, Like it'd be nice

(14:49):
to see some direct connections made. Yeah, absolutely, like in
questionable for sure, because I'm not here for speculations and
fan theories many you want them to just say it, yeah,
I get that.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
Uh, it would be nice, But I mean and maybe
they do. Who knows.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
We don't know.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
We haven't played, don't I don't know. Are you gonna so?

Speaker 2 (15:12):
Yeah that That is not a that is not a
question for like seeking real answers from chat. This is
more like, this is a question that I want to
answer after I played the game, right yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
So ready are you? Uh? Are you gonna play it?

Speaker 2 (15:27):
I will?

Speaker 3 (15:28):
I mean, I remember you are a big fan of
of you know, so yeah, you know Blade uh one,
two and three and huge huge And did you play
this already? The original version on wi you?

Speaker 5 (15:41):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (15:41):
No, not not this one because this one is this
one is uh the Zeno Blake Chronicles X yes, not
related to like the words, it seems disconnected ish Yeah,
from what I've heard, it's it's a yeah, but it
was very different. The story is very different, but it's

(16:04):
from the same people. They are chronics. You play chronicles
like there should be some connection. Maybe, yeah, we'll see
maybe maybe, But yeah. I I didn't want to get
a Wii you just to play the Skimey there was, yeah,
because it was on a WU And I'm like, okay, well,
is there any other game that I want to play

(16:25):
on a WIU to justify this purchase? And there wasn't he.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
Wait, come on fire emblem U A guy? What was
that called the the crossover with.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
S MT Uh it's on the switch?

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Yeah, well it is now, but before that it was
on this it was exclusive to the WIU. There was
there was like four reasons to own a WIU and
I had most of them and I never played any
of them.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
I tried playing, Uh, what is that that I forgot
what it's called, but it's the SMT slash Fire emblem.
The battle system was pretty cool, but like the story
was kind of fell flat for me. I tried playing
it on the Switch and yeah, it didn't sessions. That's
what it was called, SION. Can you can remember it

(17:13):
because it's it's it's s MT.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
But backwards TMS.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Oh I didn't know that. Well, yeah I learned something
new today. Yeah. I tried getting into it, could not
get into the game, but I liked I didn't really
like the battle system though. In any case, Yeah, so
this game came out on the twentieth only on the Switch,
although again really hoping that Nintendo will come over switch

(17:41):
To version of this, like come on, don't do this
game dirty, like you released this game on the WIIU
that it would be barely anyone bought.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
It'd be such a waste to have put in the
effort for this and to not.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
Like really like a late release on the Switch life
cycle and then switch To comes out like three weeks
later and kind of have to write, come on, come on, Nintendo, Yeah,
I want to a native like version for the Switch to. Anyways,
it looks incredible anyhow, uh if if Yeah, but I'll

(18:15):
wait to the switsch to to play this one anyway,
maybe not.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
Yeah, Moving on, Attilia Yumia, the Alchemist of Memories and
the envision Land uh is now the newlest, newest entry
in the Italia series. It was also released uh you know,
since our since our last episode now it's uh. It
features a brand new protagonist named Yumia who will have

(18:41):
to travel that who will travel with her companions to
discover the true nature of alchemy. And and we have
a trailer for that one too, believe it or not.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Yeah, we actually have a trailer. We've singing and all
doesn't oh yeah maybe yeah, yeah, yeah, there week go.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Yeah, that's the one.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
It's a great song. By the way, we're just like
not trying to get like demonetized or whatever. Yeah, all
copy strike. But uh yeah. So this one is a
I want to say, a more mature entry from what
I've seen, and based off of the focus.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
Yeah, and based off of the storyline that they've like
hinted at. It's one of like dealing with loss or something.
And yeah, and that's not something that I think that
they've done a whole lot of in the Italia series.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
Yeah, I feel like this is not going to go
full on into like uh you know, edged lordy kind
of like dark for Dark's sake territory, which I think
is fantastic.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Yeah, like not a tuney game.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
Sure, yeah, yeah, definitely.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
And you gave me, you introduced me to a new word,
and I have to use it every chance I get.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Do it darkness. Very cultured work to use darkness. Yeah,
it looks fantastic.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
Yeah. Anyway, and it came out on the twentieth, so yeah,
you've probably been playing it for the last ten days
or so, you guys at home, and well, have fun.
It seems like a lot of people are really liking it.
It's been really well received so far.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
So I went on Steam and I was reading the
review and the reception on Steam is mixed, which is surprising.
But here's the thing, Like, so, once I started reading
the reviews, it looks like some of it is like
a Steam specific thing because and I'll stand by this

(20:48):
still that grpgs from Japanese developers, they are really bad
at optimizing on PC. Like the games is still for
the most part made for consoles, so I think it's
like part of the bad review is just bad PC optimization,
which I'm not excusing them for. But at the same time, but.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
It's not that there's a bad game, it's just a
bad like a bad game PC game.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
If you play on the platform, you wouldn't have this problem.
The other thing that I saw that I thought was interesting.
A huge complaint from people is that this is a
great GRPG but not a great LTLE game because the
Alchemy system is just very like basic compared to all
the other more depth more yeah Alchemy.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
Sorry, Yeah, I could see. I can see a company
deciding to choose to dumb down some things in order
to streamline it for a broader audience, and it does
look like they have been making some changes to attract
a broader audience, so to speak.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
So some fans are not too happy about it, which
I'm not here to say like yes or no, like
that's just their perspective, but it's what it is, and
that may actually be good news for some of you
because boy L Tillier Games in the past anyways has
been very tedious when it comes to the Alchemy game.

(22:11):
But I say tedious because I'm a traditional like kind
of GEOPG player. People who really like the LTLA series
think that that's like the heart and Sow of the games.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
That's like, that's what they're here for.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
That's what they're here for. Right. So, if you're looking
for a more traditional GEOPG experience and you've been shining
away from ltlier because you hurt the alchemy gets a
little crazy, maybe this is a great entry point for
you into the series. Right, So this could be.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
The gateway drug for you into harder alchemy, you know.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
The stuff that you have, the heart alchemy. Yeah. Yeah,
I think the point of it is. Look, if you've
been shine away, if or if you've read if saw
the review scores on Steam and you're like us, Meke,
just know why it is mixed? Yeah, and try other
platform maybe good call? Speaking of other platforms, Yeah, it's.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
On on all modern platforms.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Yeah, so you have no excuse like every every modern
platform you have.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Except for smartphones or something. But you wouldn't want that anyway,
That's right?

Speaker 2 (23:20):
All right? Uh, next up on the last game that
we are touching on that have already came out that
we're kind of geeking over, a new action RPG from
next On based on the Dungeon and Fighter universe called
the First Berserker Kazan is now here and it looks

(23:40):
pretty dang good. Let's take a look at the trailer.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
Yeah, I've been watching this one for a little while now.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Yeah, this game kind of blew up on on on Twitch.
So one way to see if a game is gaining
traction is seen how many people are streaming this game,
and boy where they're all lot of That's.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
Surprising because I felt like it was coming out to
very little fanfare at the time. I mean, they were
trying that. They were definitely doing a marketing push, like,
but it's gone. But yeah, the game itself like it's
it's one of those things where like it's it's grim
dark fantasy, it's based off of God, Like, was it Nomadic.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
Cultures or.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
I can't no, I don't know, I can't remember.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
It's fantasy fantasy.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
But yeah, but it's also it's based on the Dungeon
and Fighter. It's an existing franchise of a multimedia franchise. Yeah, yeah,
like Nordic Light. I was thinking of a different game
when I said the Nomadic Cultures I was. I was
actually thinking of an indie that got delayed that I

(24:58):
was confused by.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
Yeah, so this this is kind of like, you know,
this is kind of like God wows with anime.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
It's Anime of war.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
Yeah, because the cell shading just makes it look like
extra animating, right, but it's also got that like nice
uh dark fantasy dark souls. Yeah, dark so aesthetics. Yeah,
we're not talking about the game play with how about
the esthet So.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Yeah, so maybe we could call it like a berserk
ish you know, maybe soul Yeah, berserk of war of War.
I mean it just looks so god of like the
old PlayStation two style got a war like really just

(25:47):
I could be wrong, but it's also it just looks
brutal and I love that, and just all the effects
of stuff coming out of the ground, the combos.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Yeah, that's what it reminds me of. It's got its.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
Own aesthetics too, So not not yet dumb that down,
but oh no, but I like to dumb things down.
I like to put things in buggets, not to be reductive,
but just to kind of like help me mentally process
what I'm seeing. Right, And it's like that these are
these are all cool things, right, and and therefore saying

(26:21):
a new combination of new cool things equals interest.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
Yeah, next On making a first person game is something
that I did not expect in twenty twenty five because
there are all about like like MMO, they're all by Mmo.
They're the Maple Story. Guys. You haven't heard about Maple Story. Yeah,
they're they're the Maple Story guys.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
No way, Nexxon.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
Is the Maple Story guys. Yeah, Maple Story, Mabby Nogi, Uh,
vindictis Dungeon and Fighter like that. Those are the Nexon games. Uh,
and weird them to come up with this. Yeah. So
for anyone who's like next On, like what is this,
Like fly by Night company, I've never heard of them before. Well, no,

(27:05):
you you've heard of their products, you just never knew that.
Uh no, like you know, make games like this.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
But they was like that sounds like a really familiar company.
But but then I was like, no, that's I'm thinking
x On the oil company.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
Guys. Quiz quiz oh geez. But yeah, but they've been
making games for like decades, so they're they're not like
some company that just came out of the wood works
and like, hey guys, look what we came up. Was
like no, no, no, no, they are a huge, well funded
company with lots of experienced making games. They've just never
made a first person game like first person for first

(27:46):
single player. Sorry, not first person, okay, say first person?
This is this is not like a person Yeah yeah,
no single player, I mean a single play they've never
made to my knowledge, they have never made a single
player game to disdegree, like like a triple A come
triple A competition grade right, So yes, is very unique.

(28:11):
I wish them well. It looks fantastic, absolutely beautiful. Keep
you know, pumping out games like this.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
Yeah, so this game came out a couple of days ago.
As a matter of fact, you can pick it up
right now on PS five, Xbox Series and PCP. Esteem
That concludes our up game releases.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
That's right. So now we get to talk about some
of the games that were recently announced. Uh so, yeah, yeah,
let's go ahead and just talk a little bit about
an update that we got so Nintendo put out there
Nintendo Direct and I think a lot of it, I
think a lot of us already have heard a little

(28:52):
bit about it by now. But you know, just to
just to recover all the greatest hits and all the highlights,
just get you guys up to speed. Uh they led
off with with Dragon Quest one and two h D
two D remake. They lead with this and that's awesome,
and I think that kind of set the tone for

(29:14):
the rest of the direct as well. Uh yeah, they
gave us a little teaser about the upcoming the upcoming
little little game here. Uh so they are going to
be released as a duology and in one package. So
let's take a look at that teaser trailer and let's
see what we got.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
Let's go.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
You're gonna get us copy striked.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
Oh no, oh boy. We can turn the music back
on and think, oh yeah, there we go.

Speaker 3 (29:51):
Oh man, look at that.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
That looks gorgeous.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
It's kind of weird. And seeing them with the red
horns like the art instead of like the white horn
is from the US, right, Look at all these Look
at all these graphics. Oh jeez, look at that fidelity graphico.

(30:20):
I cannot wait until they do h G two D
remaster a remake of DQ five. That's when I'm going
to disappear for one month. Oh man, guys can't find me.
DQ five was great, but I I do prefer d
Q four.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
I just say we've had that we had that conversation before.
I hope to be honest.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
I mean, they're they're both wonderful.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
Yeah, I know, damn it. It's so good Quest, but
it's a bird Yeah, Like wait a minute, bird Quest,
bird Quest.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
The far less successful RPG.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
You know, I've been seeing a lot of games on
uh on YouTube commercials and they're clearly knockoffs, right, but
they're so blatan blatant about it that like one was
called like Potcket World, and it's like it's supposed to

(31:26):
be like a Pokemon knockoff, but they're not even shying
from not only using like Pokemon art, but straight up
calling it Pokemon.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
You know.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
You know what I do, Like, how is this possibly allowed?
You know?

Speaker 3 (31:41):
I don't even see those ads because I have YouTube Premium.
That's it's the one. It's the one subscription service that
I actually have. Oh yeah, because I just that's all
I watch and I don't have I don't have like
Netflix or anything like that because I ripped all of
my DVDs and Blu rays onto a local server, so
I just watch my own videos and they're all the

(32:04):
ones that I want.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
Man, it's but yeah, I can totally see bird Quest.
Bird Quest is like some kind of knockoff to It's
a Oh.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
Bird Quest is absolutely the Sesame Street version and it's
all about big Burg. Somebody needs to make this. By
the way, yes please, I'm not leaving it. I'm not
leaving this topic until until somebody commits. Okay, actually I will.
So it's coming out sometime in twenty twenty five for
the Nintendo Switch, the PlayStation five, the Xbox Series, and

(32:34):
PC via Steam. So man, that's awesome. I cannot wait,
but we have to wait. And yeah, it's it's gonna
be fun. It's a good choice. I think to keep
them as a as a two in one package because
both of them, at least on the neees, were very short,
like Dragon Quest one is like a ten hour game maybe,

(32:57):
and Dragon Quest two was not terribly much longer than that.
So uh yeah, I think packaging them together solid.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
Choice makes sense. It's like East one and two, you know,
they like put East one and two together makes absolute sense.
Like the East one is basically just a prologue of
East Like it's so short. I finished it and now
I'm like, excuse me, am I done? You finished East one.
I'm like, what that was like eight hours, like oh man,
not even you know that's that's actually a really interesting point.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
So there's gosh. I think I made a video about
like some games that were for like really short games.
I can't remember anymore, it's been so long. But but
some of them are just like oh, it's just getting
go oh, it's over what. But it's good because it's like, hey,
then then you got you get Yeah. Words are hard
because then you get to knock it off of the

(33:50):
old bucket list and and yeah yeah, and it's done.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
So that's cool. Anyways, metaphor for me was a hundred
and ten hours. I could finish East ten like eleven
times over. Boy Yeah okay, yeah, sorry, next game, next game.
Some things that is not on my twenty twenty five
bingo cart A spin off of the I Dismnium file

(34:16):
series has just been announced, Like seriously, I didn't. No
one expected a spinoff or I Disumnium series, but here
we are. And the game is called No Sleep for
Kanime Date, which takes place only a single day after
the resolution of the first game, where Iris is adopted
now by a UFO and forced to participate what they're

(34:40):
calling the Third Eye game. It is up to Kanime
date and Iba to rescue her from this, you know,
this nightmare scenario. So yeah, I did not expect this.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
What so aver, That sounds pretty lozany. I don't know
anything about Isomnium Files. Is is like the introduction of
UFOs a new thing.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
It really is, and I can't wait to see how
they resolve this. Ohez, Okay, let's check this check it out. Yeah. Yeah,
the game typically has like no alien kind of like element,
so like, I want to see how they were going
to explain this. They would come up with some kind
of like unexplainable scenario, but they wrap it up very

(35:24):
nicely at the end. You're like, oh, that's how that happened.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
You know, that makes total sense.

Speaker 2 (35:30):
Yeah, I should really like the writing in Idisomnium File.
Absolutely enjoyed the heck added to two other games so
so far there too Disomnium Files game. This one is
pretty much like a spinoff if you can call it that,
or some kind of Guidan scenario. Not quite in.

Speaker 3 (35:56):
A what if scenario.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
No, it's definitely in. It's definitely canon, but it's like it.

Speaker 3 (36:03):
Hasn't been removed from Cannon before it's been released. That's
good to know.

Speaker 2 (36:07):
Yeah, now that the the two games are the two
games in the series are connected, Yeah, I got you connected. Yeah,
it's just this one is it's just no, it feels
spin off kind of Left Turn things, Left Turned.

Speaker 3 (36:25):
Uncover.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
Yeah, but there are some there are some puzzles you
have to solve. This is more or less a game.
We stop some puzzles and and there are like branching uh,
branching storylines. Uh. And it's just incredible. Uh you know,
speaking of games that you can play off stream and
just like on your own, I highly recommend you checking

(36:49):
out atis something files like just on your own. Uh.
It's so good. The writing is so good. And I
rarely say that about games, but the writing for this
one is solid. It. I don't know how they.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
Did it, what what kind of so are they all
like this? I don't know if I remember the I
remember the titles of is Omnium Files, but not like
what the gameplay ever looked like? Is it all kind
of like uzzles?

Speaker 2 (37:16):
And so the basic premise is this guy's the detective.
He has an uh an eyeball in plan in him,
and it also has an ai that that interfaces with
him and.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
Oh that's so it's a pun. I love it already.
I I love it, Okay. The eyeball that the name
is Eyeba, that's great. Keep another another thing is uh
so they always call her like his partner like in

(37:52):
Detective and partner in Japanese eye bowl eye.

Speaker 2 (37:59):
Ah.

Speaker 3 (38:01):
That's great.

Speaker 2 (38:01):
All the side like lots of puns, but really the
writing is superb. I think we've.

Speaker 3 (38:08):
Already established it because it has so many puns exactly.

Speaker 2 (38:12):
And yeah, you get to dive into people's like subconscious
to try to discover clues because they wouldn't talk.

Speaker 3 (38:21):
That's the one that I watched. I think I came
and watched you saw or watched you stream it and
like you can jump back and forth between different scenarios
or different dates. Yes, yes, yes, okay, I remember now
yeah coo.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
They block out certain things so you can't access it
until you do something else. But like it's all to
enhance the storytelling, like you know, elements, so I highly recommend. Anyways,
this one is coming out in July twenty fifth for
the Switch and PC, which is kind of strange. I
thought they would do like at least like a PS
four PS five two, but so far as only to

(38:57):
Switch and PC. They have talked about you know when
you can pre order, But as soon as I can
pre order it, you bet I'm going to pre order
this one.

Speaker 3 (39:08):
Yeh yeah, well you know what I'm probably gonna pre
order too. Is this next one that we're that we're
gonna talk about, because Atlas just announced a remastered version
of a two thousand and six RPG the Devil Seminar
series of the Devil Seminar series called Rydo Remastered The

(39:31):
Mystery of the Soulless Army and.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
No More Versus. Oh, let's see.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
I guess, I guess maybe maybe I don't know. Maybe
they're giving too much away. Do we fight the Soulas
Army or do we command them? Let's let's find out
in this trailer. Maybe.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
Yeah, for a remaster, this looks pretty dang good. My
my expectation for like, my expectation is a lot lower
as far as like.

Speaker 3 (40:04):
What amster.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
They called it the remak.

Speaker 3 (40:10):
Yeah, it looks kind of remakey rather than remastery. Oh yeah,
they selling themselves short. Maybe under over under promise, over deliver. Yeah,
look at that man. That looks cool as heck the dog.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
The game takes place in nineteen twenties Japan, tshow era.
It looks cool as heck man, So that's not a
modern time game.

Speaker 3 (40:44):
No, no, no, go to.

Speaker 2 (40:47):
Take it easy. That's my motto.

Speaker 3 (40:50):
I go, but it's easier for you. Looks like that
house was no match for the cat, but a man
that looks so cool.

Speaker 2 (41:04):
You've got to be a great writer, Derek.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
I've never well, I agree, I've never got the chance
to play the original release of rydo.

Speaker 2 (41:14):
The neither of them.

Speaker 3 (41:17):
So hopefully this is gonna be uh, you know, a
situation where they give they give us not just the
first entry, but hopefully the second also.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
Uh you know what, that'd be great. Okay, it really
depend on how well the selles. And judging by the
amount of excitement I've seen online and all the people
coming in asking me if I'm excited about it, I'm
gonna say that people are excited about this.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
It seems to have established quite a bit of hype.
And this funny thing is it's kind of like I
feel like a lot of us were like looking over
here and then then and then uh and then Atlas
is like ha over here because because leading up to this,
there was a little bit of hype about a potential
Persona four remake that that was talked about because of

(42:05):
a uh a new domain that was registered for P
four R which seemed to fit a very similar, very
similar vibe as the P three r e dot co
dot Jp. Uh and those are kind of expensive r
ls to to, uh what do you call that register?

Speaker 2 (42:27):
Yeah, they wouldn't do it if they didn't plan to
do something with it, right, Well.

Speaker 3 (42:31):
It wasn't. It was done anonymously for one, so you
don't we don't know if it was done by Atlas
or buy somebody else, but they requested to be anonymous.
But one does not buy P four r e dot
co dot Jp without a substantial amount of money, uh
like Like short r ls like that tend to be

(42:52):
uh well, thousands and thousands of dollars per per year.
So yeah, so that's pretty cool anyway. Regardless of all
of that, that's unconfirmed. But what has been confirmed is
the ryd Overmaster and that's gonna be coming out June
nineteenth for the PlayStation four, PlayStation five, the Xbox Series

(43:14):
and Switch and PC VA Steam and.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
I love it. I am these announcements that's like, oh yeah,
it's gonna be like three months.

Speaker 3 (43:24):
I love that it was announced at the Nintendo Direct
but it did not take long at all for them
to be like, yeah, this is actually going everywhere. I
love that Nintendo. Like I said in the in the title,
Nintendo went niche, but Rydo went everywhere. And I love
that more, more games and more places is good for everybody.

Speaker 2 (43:41):
Yes, it's great for consumers, all right. Next up, another
thing that was not in my Bengo card. Banda Namco
is releasing a new two D action platform with a
pretty familiar mascot, just not in the way that I'd expected.
Let's just take a look at it. You can. You
can see what I mean. Okay, I'm scratching my head

(44:02):
when I was watching.

Speaker 3 (44:03):
This, I I don't think I saw this one.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
Just watch, just watch.

Speaker 3 (44:15):
You have been chosen.

Speaker 2 (44:22):
There you go, There you go, there you go. Okay,
bro go on. That's pac Man.

Speaker 3 (44:34):
And the fact that he's in a shadow labyrinth is hilarious.
Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (44:43):
I'm like, I don't know what they're going for.

Speaker 3 (44:46):
He you know what, except here, here's the deal. Here's
the thing. Isn't there a Pac Man movie being made
or something.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
Is there?

Speaker 3 (44:55):
I think that there is is this is this pac
Man Dark Universe is like first, uh, first.

Speaker 2 (45:03):
Look look at this pac Man the Dark Universe, pac
Man Dark Universe, pac Man.

Speaker 3 (45:09):
Robo, pac Man, Mecca Mecca, pac Man. This is ridiculous.
I love it. I hate it. But if this is
the direction that they're gonna take with that pac Man movie,
I might actually watch that movie.

Speaker 2 (45:28):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (45:28):
This is weird.

Speaker 2 (45:30):
Escape Amaze dude.

Speaker 3 (45:34):
If I really hope that the pac Man guy just
goes walk walk walk walk.

Speaker 1 (45:39):
Yes, yes, become the Apex Predator.

Speaker 2 (45:44):
Okay, I I I.

Speaker 3 (45:47):
Are there ghosts.

Speaker 2 (45:49):
I have some high hopes for this actually, like it
could be a really good game. Okay, like I don't
wanna oh mins just because it's pac Man, but holy crap, Like,
you know.

Speaker 3 (46:01):
What, they needed a way to revitalize that franchise IP.
This might be a good step. I you know, for
the first time I care about a pac Man game,
whether or not goods. Like, for the first time in
forty years, pac Man might be relevant again.

Speaker 2 (46:23):
It's yes, and that's insane. But twenty twenty five, here
we are a new IP center around pac Man. Oh wowow.
And this game is coming out on July eighteenth on
PS five, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam. So

(46:44):
many ways to play this, definitely, Yeah, I'm itching to
try this, not gonna lie. This is this maybe the
first pac Man in like three decades that I would
play two decades.

Speaker 3 (46:57):
No, I know, no more than two decades, because like,
who cared about pac Man ever since Miss pac Man
came along? Like that was the last that was the dude,
this is like the eighties, This is like eighty two maybe, jeez, yeah,
like wow, this is this is yeah, this is gonna
be like the first home console release of pac Man

(47:19):
that anyone really cares about. This is gonna be great.
Moving along, Bamco also announced the remastered version of a
PSP classic patapone one and two together in a bundle
cold Patapon one plus two replay Now. Patapon is best

(47:39):
described as a kind of rhythm and real time strategy game,
and perhaps this trailer that we have might just help
fill in some of the details for you.

Speaker 2 (47:51):
Man, It's Patapon is a different kind of game. People
ask me, like, what kind of game is Patopole. I'm like,
I can't explain it. Just have to watch it and
then you'll immediately understand it.

Speaker 3 (48:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (48:05):
I can't describe it other than it's a rhythmic real
time strategy. It's just super fun. Aesthetics is super unique,
the gameplay is super unique, but it's also like pretty

(48:25):
intuitive at the same time. I don't want to explain it. Like,
the game is actually pretty brilliant. It was back in
the PSP days.

Speaker 3 (48:35):
Yeah, out their Bravest in search of the Holy Drum.
Do we really need the backstory? Like show me what
the game looks like? Oh, here we go the New
Mighty One.

Speaker 2 (48:47):
So you're marching, your marching and then you have to
hit the rhythm. Yeah, like attack and then there's like
their retreat orders.

Speaker 3 (48:57):
Oh, I see, you see I think I think I
do change your units, like you know, in between battles
and and change.

Speaker 2 (49:06):
Its still there. But it's it's a very interesting game.
It's yeah, it's it's one of those like it's really
hard for me to suverbally explain to you what this is.
You just have to see it.

Speaker 3 (49:18):
This feels like definitely the kind of like lunch break
game that just kills time so quickly.

Speaker 2 (49:23):
Yes, Noise, it's so fun this game. I couldn't put
it away for a long time. It's it's extremely addictive,
it's quirky. H I love it. No love for pac
Man ninety nine. No, no love for pac Man ninety nine.

Speaker 3 (49:43):
No, no, I mean no pac Man ninety nine. I
mean that was kind of like Tetris ninety nine. I
was like, yeah, this is probably cool for a little bit,
but's it really mm hmm.

Speaker 2 (49:57):
I don't I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (49:58):
I didn't play because I didn't care. But anyways, Yeah,
the game's coming out on the eleventh of July this
year for the PlayStation five, the Switch, NPC, VA Steam.

Speaker 2 (50:12):
Yeah, there's so many ways. I can't wait. I would
get this on like a switch to uh and and
just have it on a henheld and I would play
it that like on travel.

Speaker 3 (50:21):
I mean legitimately, though, it kind of looks like the
kind of game that might work really well on a smartphone,
Like I could be wrong.

Speaker 2 (50:30):
Yeah, and speaking of smartphone, yeah, I like to segue,
thank you, speaking of smartphone, this next game is actually
going to be available on smartphones, so we'll talk about it.
The game, Yeah, I know from the Square nx PS
one line up Mastered because of course they are like

(50:51):
we've talked about this. We're like, yeah, no, this is
like the golden age of PS one remasters, and Square
Annex is taking four advantage of that. I don't remake
a remaster. This one gets a remaster treatment. And it's
Soccer Frontier too, and it's been is going to be
remastered now. It is not just like a graphical remaster

(51:11):
only although there are improved visuals, this game will also
feature completely new events. Uh new uh this thing called
parameter Inheritance system and also something that is kind of cool.

Speaker 3 (51:26):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
There used to be a mini game called Goal Goal Digger,
not Gold the Goal just like geo people who are
but they changed it to dig Dig Digger.

Speaker 5 (51:42):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (51:42):
This mini game used to be playable on the pocket station,
so basically that you couldn't really pack a station. Is
just like tamagotchi kind of like thing where you pluck
into like the memory cuts lot and then it interacts

(52:02):
with the game and then take it out. You play
a mini game, you get resources and it's a um
D and it's a it's a it's a p S.

Speaker 3 (52:11):
One U m D or not m D v m
U yeah VMU like on a Dreamcast.

Speaker 2 (52:17):
Yeah, yes, like that, and then you can take it out.
You can play mini games on the thing. It has
like a little like screen on the packast station.

Speaker 3 (52:25):
Was this like a Japan exclusive? Like yes, okay, that's.

Speaker 2 (52:28):
Like I had one. I don't know what happened to
by packastation, and I'm really mad that I don't know
what happened by packastation, But I did play uh you know,
dig Dig Digger back then a for uh scoproon tier tiers.
I remember this. Uh, but now you can also play
this little mini game uh in any version of the game.
This is built into the game now, so uh kind

(52:51):
of cool.

Speaker 3 (52:52):
I'm gonna let's just try to show off the what
this looks like, because this is like the first I've
heard of it. Uh yeah here yeah, uh oh yeah there.

Speaker 2 (53:02):
So yeah, that's the pocket station.

Speaker 3 (53:04):
Yeah, that's a pocket station.

Speaker 2 (53:05):
Look at that.

Speaker 3 (53:06):
That's that's so cool. I had uh, well, you know what,
let's let's not go into other websites for now, but
like that's that's Nate.

Speaker 2 (53:14):
So the control panel part, you can like lift it up. Yeah,
then like you into the memory memory cart slot thing
and you slide it into the PlayStation and it will
like you know, get the data from your packet station.

Speaker 3 (53:28):
M oh cool. Okay, well so anyways, so now the
dig Dig Digger mini game is now also available without
the pocket station.

Speaker 2 (53:37):
That's right. Among other things, so lots of like you know,
QOL quality of life stuff, but also like here like
the major things, major features that will be added to
this remaster. Yeah, so we can take a look.

Speaker 3 (53:51):
All right, let's take a look.

Speaker 2 (53:54):
I do appreciate that when they do these like HD Remastered,
they're not just simply like up dating graphics and then
just shoot it off and be like here you go.
They are putting in some new stuff in. Yeah. I
appreciate that Scophoetia was the same way. They added some
things to make the story more complete, and the Sacropherontier
won the three Masters talent the boy.

Speaker 3 (54:19):
And it's really cool that they just shadow dropped it
and plunged. I mean, oh, I didn't mean to spoil
or ruin your thunder there, but.

Speaker 2 (54:26):
Oh no, no, no, no, yeah, they absolutely did the drop.
I was gonna say, I was not like the biggest
fan of Sycraphonteer two, but this just give me incentive
to you visited the game and see if I really
didn't care for it as much as I think I don't.

Speaker 3 (54:42):
I like the look like the hand wrong kind of
almost water coilery, I really did that. I wonder if
they like re scanned original art or did they just
upscale existing assets.

Speaker 2 (55:00):
I wonder what they did from the original. But I
guess the nice thing is so the scopeer one is
more like a Polygon situation. Oh yeah, this is more
like picture art. Yeah, and I think the picture art
makes it easier to scale faces from the original and

(55:23):
still look really good. Yeah, where's polygon? Is?

Speaker 3 (55:27):
Like?

Speaker 2 (55:28):
Yeah, that's just the look. Like I said, you'd like it.

Speaker 3 (55:31):
Bus is waiting for you after you've completed the story. Yeah,
oh yeah that's cool.

Speaker 2 (55:42):
Oh you can you can speed up battles now, It's
just fantastic. That's love when game allows me to this
terrible food. Like if I'm grinding, I'm just like, just
let me turbles due to animation please, Like.

Speaker 3 (55:56):
Yeah, like nobody nobody likes having to sit through ninety
minutes and cut scene every time.

Speaker 2 (56:02):
Yeah yeah F eight looking at you, f F nine anyways, Yes,
so this game is actually already out. You're like, I
was contemplating on moving it over to the like Upcame
section since we're going down this entire list of like
Nintendo Direct things, I'm like, you know what, I'm just

(56:22):
gonna keep it here, But it could have easily been
into Upcame you know section because it's already out. You
can play this right now if you purchase the game,
so yeah, check it out. It is available on PS
four or five, Switch PC via Steam, and more importantly
on the iOS and endroid for our friends who wants

(56:46):
to be able to game on their cell phones. Nice,
but don't want to do this whole gotcha dance. This
is not a gotcha game. It is just ones and done.
So you buy the game and you own it.

Speaker 3 (56:58):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (56:59):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (56:59):
I like that quite a bit. Well. Next up is
a game that I actually I haven't heard about too
much myself. It's a new arcade style beat him up
game from Marvel dot Temu dot Emu how do you
say that? I don't know, and tribute games. It's called
Marvel Cosmic Invasion and it has been announced for release

(57:23):
later this year. Yeah. I am a fan of beat
him ups, so let's check this out.

Speaker 2 (57:28):
A lot of people were very excited for this. I
was like, what's going on?

Speaker 3 (57:33):
Like, yeah, I don't care much for Marvel stuff, but
at this point, like I'm a little marveled out, but
like beat him ups. I do like some beat him ups?
You know what?

Speaker 2 (57:44):
It really does take me back to today's uh scened
arcade and whatnot a bam.

Speaker 3 (57:51):
Oh with our classic nineties style. Uh uh huh. I
do like that lash schnick.

Speaker 2 (58:03):
Storm under player whole characters. Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't
add broken there, miss Marvel. I think boom and I
don't think who that is.

Speaker 3 (58:18):
I don't know nobody, nobody knows who that is. But
that looks cool. Yeah, okay, yep, yep, okay, right, this
is I care. Now you care? Now before it's like,
oh that's the nice animation for sure, but now you
should make the pixelar Okay, I'm all right, I feel this. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (58:39):
So the TAMU has been like making a name for
itself with a lot of beat him up games. So
I think they also did a teenage Ninja Turtles. They
did Power Rangers Scott Pilgrim, No, that was that was
not them. I don't know if they did, but yeah,
but they were that was making a name for themselves
for these beat them up games, and I'm all for it.

(59:00):
It looks fantastic.

Speaker 3 (59:02):
Yeah. Well, but luckily we're gonna if you are into
beatum ups, and if you're into Marvel, then you don't
have all that long to wait because it's coming out
sometime in this year for all modern platforms.

Speaker 2 (59:14):
Yeah, all right. This last game that was part of
the Nintendo Direct, but also not part of the Nintendo Direct.
It really depends on which one you saw. See. This
one was not in the English Direct, but it was
featured in the Japanese Direct because you know, I would
definitely take a look there to make sure we're not

(59:36):
missing anything. But we are talking about it today because
this game will have an international release. So what game
is it? Bamco just announced the newest entry in the
Super Robot Wars series and it's caused Super Robot Wars. Why.
Let's take a look at the trailer real quick, and
that should explain what we're looking at. It is a

(59:59):
tactical art is a long running tactical RPG series. For
anyone who's not aware of what this is a very.

Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
Very long running there's like very long running.

Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
There's like twenty thirty too many. The world is on
the edge of Pope.

Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
There's almost as many Super Robot Wars titles as there
are Marvel movies at this point. Actually, maybe a better
comparison would be like a to Godzilla movies. Yeah, like
there's just so many.

Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
There's so many. They're like which super Robot Wars is?
Which letter are using? Now they've used W They've used
They've used to be, they used to see why.

Speaker 3 (01:00:47):
Now I think they're gonna have to start using like symbols,
like you know how like in Mario one when you
would jump on a shell and it would just like
give you infinite lives and eventually you'd stop seeing numbers
that go on to like characters and then crown they.

Speaker 2 (01:01:00):
Had like Alpha Yeah, Alpha de Z I remember Z
super war z mm hmm. So yeah, there there's sting
a runout letters versus they can run out letters too.

Speaker 3 (01:01:13):
Yeah. Yeah, they're gonna have to start moving on to
words they have numbers.

Speaker 2 (01:01:20):
Yeah, So this is this is the basics of Super
Robot Wars is they take different mecha series and they
kind of like just like have this like like mix
up in like stories and whatnot into this like cohesive
you know, uh odyssey of like different protagonists meeting up
and fighting like against He's like, oh that guy from

(01:01:46):
g Gundam. Oh my god, Oh my.

Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
God, I remember him. This is how they get you.
This is how exactly how they get you playing. Yeah,
they're like they're like, oh, you know, it'd be a
shame if you know, you were a fan of like
Big O or whatever and then.

Speaker 2 (01:02:05):
Like they have had Big oh in this series.

Speaker 3 (01:02:08):
I'm not surprised. It'd be a shame if you were
into Mighty More from Power Rangers and then you see
the Megazort and.

Speaker 2 (01:02:14):
Like, oh my god, my god, they've never had a
Power Ranger. But I wonder why.

Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
Well, it's because it's probably not an anime, right, Like
it's it's.

Speaker 2 (01:02:21):
Probably Oh they they have things that are not strictly
animated here before.

Speaker 3 (01:02:24):
Oh well, you know that's gotta be they they're saving
it for a rainy day. That's really just it.

Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
So they have Kokias.

Speaker 3 (01:02:33):
Because because wait a seconds, because Banai also owns all
of the uh the the Power Rangers at least here
in the States, Saban entertainment through through the day.

Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
I think, so oh, Yeah, they had they had a
what is it called, They had an ultraman like yeah,
it was not like it's strictly anime. It was like
a three D kind of like show. Yeah, ad oh
that mad Cross. They can do mac Cross now. And
that's the crazy part because remember this is an international release.

(01:03:09):
Sick it's called mack Cross, not because you know, m H.
Harmedy Gold decides to like stop being like silly with
holding a you know, distribution right that they plan to
do nothing with. Yeah, it's this gameplay. This is gameplay. Yeah,
this These are the battle animation. So when you send

(01:03:32):
like a robot to attack a little robot, that's the
battle animation. And of course they have the newest one
of the Newest Gondom, which Mercury, but only season one,
which is a very very strange choice. It can't get
over the how weird that is because the entire anime
is done and it's been done so if they wanted to,

(01:03:54):
they could have just had their entire show in there.

Speaker 3 (01:03:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:03:58):
But this is kind of a teaser trailer for Super
Robot Wars. Uh custom they'd like to tell you about
the series that's in it, Like over several trailers as
they Okay, more tippets.

Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
So so here's the thing. I kind of wonder if
we'll ever see something like Vallomar show up in Super
Robot Wars.

Speaker 2 (01:04:23):
What's Valomar?

Speaker 3 (01:04:24):
I'm not telling you. It's a spoiler for trails.

Speaker 2 (01:04:27):
Oh oh, now I know what it is and the
answers possibly. I know they c crossover before, so never
doubt what they can do. It's kind of like Teken,
where like you have to be from near Automata in there.
One day you're like, what's going on? Like what, so

(01:04:50):
can Vaalomar be in here? Yeah, we've seen like other
kind of like night robot kind of deal, and they
had what is this night Robot anime from like the nineties.

Speaker 3 (01:05:02):
Uh oh h m hmm. It's part of Okay, I
think I know what you're talking about. Uh yeah, the
the Zodiac dang it.

Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
Anyways, they have had similar style robot in Super Robot Wars.

Speaker 3 (01:05:23):
So it's the Nights of Zodiac.

Speaker 2 (01:05:25):
Is that it?

Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
I think that's it?

Speaker 2 (01:05:26):
No, No, it's okay, Well I'll look it up because
it's driving me crazy. Actually it's not the nineties, it's
probably in the nineties. Uh, anime. Well, they have rare Earth,
so there's that they actually have Rare Earth in the
last game.

Speaker 3 (01:05:48):
Oh I wonder if they'll ever have impact from from
goem on. That'd be great.

Speaker 4 (01:05:55):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:05:55):
I just never doubt them. I never doubt them anyway.
So yeah, when coming out, So this is coming out
sometimes in twenty twenty five for PS five Switch and
PC vs. Theme, And that concludes all the games that
we saw, I think all the games we saw from Direct, right.

Speaker 3 (01:06:14):
Yeah, I did.

Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
So we've got two more, yeah, just not from Direct.

Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
Now, speaking of spoilers for Trails, we're not going to
show off the trailer of the Legend of Heroes Trails
Beyond the Horizon because you know, it's a it's a
series that is especially spoiler sensitive and spoiler prone just
because of all of the contexts. Like if you've played
any of the games and you see a trailer and

(01:06:41):
you're probably gonna know, like, oh, I know that person,
I didn't know they would be in here. That's a spoiler,
you know. So anyways, suffice it to say, everybody's in
all of the games.

Speaker 2 (01:06:50):
Ever.

Speaker 3 (01:06:51):
But but here's the deal. The game was officially announced
by NIS America for the West. So this was originally
Kayoschi in Japan, and this Western release is finally bringing
US Americans and other English speaking folks up to speed
with Japan for the first time. Like ever, I.

Speaker 2 (01:07:16):
Think finally done it have well, I mean i'd say Nissa,
oh because the both of them, Yeah, finally done it,
yes together.

Speaker 3 (01:07:28):
And and it's just I remember, not all that long ago,
not too many years ago, people are like, oh my god,
you know, we're never gonna get caught up. You know,
there were because we were like five games behind at
one point, maybe even more. And and it's just been
a whirlwind of releases and strategic choices like partnering with

(01:07:49):
the Geo Front team to to make the the Crossbild localization. Wow,
like that was that was a smart choice. And and
now we're finally caught up or will be in the fall,
the fall of twenty twenty five. It's coming to PlayStation five,
the PS four, the Nintendo Switch and PC as well.

Speaker 2 (01:08:12):
Yes, all right. And also I just looked it up
that the anime series I was thinking about is the
vision of Esclaphone. Do you remember that one?

Speaker 3 (01:08:20):
A vision of Escaflona? Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:08:22):
Yeah, so yeah, like they have kind of like ninety,
kind of like Robot and it was in Super World War.
So yeah, crazy, I had no doubts that it's possible. Okay.
The last game that we're here to talk about, and
yes we do have a trailer for that one, has
been announced by Konami, of all things Konami. It is

(01:08:46):
a three D action RPG, a new ip for the
gaming world based on Hiro Mashima's manga Eden's Zero, and
the game is by the same name, Eden's Zero. Let's
take a look at the trailer. Alrighty, I'm hoping this
does better than Fairy Tell Too. This Fairy tell Too.

Speaker 3 (01:09:09):
Is struggling didn't do great well. Apparently Eden's Zero did
have a game released already once m for smartphone, and
it was not particularly well received. Look, it's not Lucy,

(01:09:33):
and it seems like they have a couple of things
in common.

Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
Thoughtly speaking, they they've got a lot of things to
go just quite just a feud. Yeah, this is the
main character is like a mashed up between Natsu and
and Gray. Basically, Yeah, I'm not gonna call him Gary

(01:09:55):
anymore because someone got mad at me. Ray. I'm like,
I know it's inside joke and it's.

Speaker 3 (01:10:03):
How dare you do you remember that time I repeated
the meme of like what of Zelda was a girl?
Like Dudela is a girl? I'm like, okay, yep, calm down.

Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
Anyways, Yeah, this is uh, this.

Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
Looks like a pretty good looking game. I mean, it's
it's from Konami. It's not Pixels, it's not Gotcha, it's
you know, like, so this is what Konami can currently
do if they're not trying to rip us off. Apparently
it doesn't look bad.

Speaker 2 (01:10:43):
Yeah, so, uh, I have some hope that Konami would
do better than Koi Tetmo becauseki Temo is the company
that made fairy Tale too, And yeah, I have hope
that this would be like an actual good RPG.

Speaker 3 (01:11:06):
What's interesting is that if Mashamo went with you know,
Konami with this ip instead of I mean, I think
that might be indicative that he wasn't super happy with,
you know, the work done in fairy Tale, potentially, or

(01:11:26):
maybe they just offered more money, who knows, who knows,
But yeah, but this looks this actually looks really good.

Speaker 2 (01:11:34):
I've seen we've seen some tying games in the past,
and like a lot of them are just short on
games and very much on you know, the voice acting
and whatnot, which is fine, right, maybe that's what a
lot of the fans want. But this looks like a
well budgeted game, like in its game elements.

Speaker 3 (01:11:57):
So assuming assuming that the game looks the way the
trailer does, because a lot of it yeah, you know,
who knows it could be cherry picked. I'd like to
see them. Yes, I wasn't gonna say it, but well,
actually I was. It is a slogan here, so shopped
out superderic ARPGs dot com. Yes, so this game is

(01:12:18):
coming out on July fifteenth of this year on PS five,
Xbox Series, and PC, so again, not not far from now,
which is I love it? Yeah, it's it's nice to
have oh wait, wrong button. It's nice to have release
states that aren't like seven years into the future for sure.
So it's time for us to move along to some

(01:12:38):
industry news and and we're gonna lead off with this
one here. The Nintendo have at the at the Nintendo
Direct revealed a new feature coming to the Nintendo Switch,
which they have dubbed the Virtual Game Card, and it's

(01:13:00):
It basically means that you can you can just do
whatever with your games, like like as if it was
an actual physical copy of the game. Yeah, kind of.
Let's take a look at the explanation. Let Nintendo speak
for themselves here, Yes, and we'll talk about it. Yeah,

(01:13:21):
game cards.

Speaker 4 (01:13:23):
You can put a game featuring Mario in this Nintendo
Switch system and a legend of Zelda game in this one,
freely inserting the games you have on hand into any
system you want.

Speaker 2 (01:13:34):
M M.

Speaker 3 (01:13:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:13:35):
What if digital games could be as flexible and convenient
as game cards?

Speaker 3 (01:13:39):
What if?

Speaker 4 (01:13:40):
Well, here's what we can you sell them, introducing the
virtual game card. In the future, virtual game cards can
be used for digital games.

Speaker 3 (01:13:51):
What about when the servers shutdown.

Speaker 2 (01:13:55):
You're asking all the inconvenient questions, sir.

Speaker 4 (01:13:59):
When purchasing the digital version of the game, it will
be loaded onto your system as a virtual game card,
allowing you to play that title. Your digital games will
be lined up as virtual game cards on a dedicated
management screen.

Speaker 2 (01:14:18):
Here.

Speaker 4 (01:14:18):
Cool, load and eject your virtual game cards and manage
which games you can play on your system.

Speaker 3 (01:14:24):
I will say that what they have done with this
is they have made it look intuitive, which is nice.

Speaker 4 (01:14:33):
You have two Nintendo Switch systems. You can eject a
virtual game card from one and loaded onto the second.
Now you can play this game on the second system
wherever and whenever you want.

Speaker 3 (01:14:46):
Could we not do this already?

Speaker 2 (01:14:47):
If you had inserted a business.

Speaker 4 (01:14:51):
Guess the cards you can freely load and arrange which
games you play on up to two systems.

Speaker 3 (01:14:57):
So what this is telling me local communication with your
second Sorry, uh, but that's what that's telling me is that.

Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:15:07):
I'm pretty sure I used to be able to like
put my system, my account onto my Nintendo Switch and
download my game on it, and then I could put
it on my my switch light and I could play it.
But now I can't.

Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
Is that right? I think? I think this is talking
about like a different account.

Speaker 3 (01:15:26):
No, you think because it's this one, you can only
link two together. If you keep this is separate, watching
it will make sense. This is separate from the family thing. Though, No,
it's not a family thing, right, Yeah, this is separate
from the family. So they're saying, you're a Nintendo Switch,
you can now you can install it on one at
a time. Well and then later, okay, okay, I'll keep

(01:15:48):
playing fish. This is.

Speaker 4 (01:15:51):
It is required, but only the first time.

Speaker 3 (01:15:58):
Now lending.

Speaker 2 (01:16:00):
Ru Yeah, I don't know about the whole link thing
family group members. Yeah, I thought you could just lock
it onto your account system wireless.

Speaker 3 (01:16:07):
Yeah, it's like they made it worse to own a
digital game.

Speaker 4 (01:16:11):
Now who you're lending it to?

Speaker 3 (01:16:16):
If if I'm and if I am interpreting this correctly,
like that's cool. Yeah, you can play on their own system.
You can lend it to family members.

Speaker 4 (01:16:26):
Sure that lends one game at a time to a
particular person. Games can be lent out for two weeks,
after which they will automatically return to you.

Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
Kind I kind of like that automatic return kind of thing,
like that kind of fun like.

Speaker 3 (01:16:43):
Because then they have a timeline.

Speaker 2 (01:16:46):
How many times if you'd lend a game out to
your friend and completely forgot that, like you did that or.

Speaker 3 (01:16:54):
Hang on, you're not allowed to lend this out to
a friend. No, No, you can lend it to family members.
You understand it was.

Speaker 2 (01:17:04):
Not a friend and family, it was strictly family. Yeah,
well then I guess second cousins out, Like I mean,
where did they draw the line? I don't know, Like
fifth cousin, Like, what do you mean twice remove? Twice remove?
I'm just.

Speaker 3 (01:17:23):
I'm finding it difficult to to Okay, well, anyways, leave
it to Nintendo to come up with both an intuitive
way to explain how it's better than the previous system
and also rebranding an entire concept just called game sharing,
which is usually far less restrictive, right, yeah, And I'm

(01:17:47):
just not loving it. I mean, it's it's nice that
now I guess you can lend it to people who
are not who are not yourself. But I thought, and
I could be mistaken, but I thought you could just
like add your own an account onto Like I Amy
has a a switch light, and I feel like I
could just like log into it and download my games

(01:18:09):
and she could play them there. It feels like something
that I could do.

Speaker 2 (01:18:16):
But this is I'm going to go test that now, yea,
to switch and see what happens. I mean, we haven't
done that, I.

Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
Was gonna say. And this feature is not out yet.
It's it's coming out in the near future, it said,
but hopefully hopefully, you know, maybe maybe people catch some
of the shenanigans and then riot, because it feels really
like they're adding restrictions and calling it I mean, they're

(01:18:47):
they are adding a convenience factor for sure, but they're
also adding some what feels like some new restrictions that
seem like a like I'm not good.

Speaker 2 (01:18:57):
Yeah, yeah, I'm I'm with you. I I'm actually not
sure about that whole thing that about staring between two
system things. Yeah, that's yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:19:08):
Because like before yeah, because because it just before switch
to the showing what your family you know, it's like,
oh now now you can have it installed on this
system or this other one system of yours. But that's it,
and I mean, okay, so they do show that you
will be able to do this to like transfer to

(01:19:29):
the uh switch to MM, which is nice to know
that you won't have to leave all of your digital
games on a dead console. Again.

Speaker 2 (01:19:42):
Yeah, I feel like maybe in part they're also doing
this because in anticipating on the switch to coming out.

Speaker 3 (01:19:48):
Yeah, probably part in part M Yeah, yeah, it's I'm
not I'm not loving it. It's yeah, it would have
been better just to link your system and now you
can have all your games on both systems.

Speaker 2 (01:20:02):
I think the slinking is, like you say, I think
the lending out thing is kind of fun, but like,
I don't know why they decide to like do that
weird thing with the link thing.

Speaker 3 (01:20:15):
Maybe it's two.

Speaker 2 (01:20:18):
Gosh.

Speaker 3 (01:20:19):
I wonder if they have some sort of checks in
place for online games, so like if somebody has Mario
Kart eight on one and then they loaded onto the
other and they can't co op because it's like locked
to a single because it's a single instance of a game.
I wonder if that's what they're trying to prevent, as

(01:20:40):
opposed to something like where you had two Zelda's and
you could play independently. Maybe it's you know, oh my
my two kids have Splatoon and they're each loaded onto
their switches and they can't play together.

Speaker 2 (01:20:51):
Yeah, it's like you need two copies, ma'am.

Speaker 3 (01:20:54):
Yeah. I think maybe maybe it's to head off stuff
like that and there, and they're kind of solidifying the
concept of owning a license to a game or yeah,
having a license to a game, not owning, but having

(01:21:14):
a license to a game that you know that that
counts as as one item. I think that's probably what
they're trying to do to make to make it more
intuitive as to why certain things don't work. But I
still don't love it. I still don't love it, and
and I feel like if some legitimately like if if

(01:21:35):
you had if you have one copy of a game
and it's online co op or online multiplayer only, you
should be allowed to play with your other console, because
they it's not our fault, but you're not making local
co op games anymore, like it used to just be

(01:21:57):
plugging another controller into the system.

Speaker 2 (01:22:00):
Well, they do have local co op, they.

Speaker 3 (01:22:02):
Do in some things, but it's just very few and
far between, that's true. And and I think that it
would make sense to to allow for two consoles to
play together with a single copy of a game. And
and there's precedence for that too. It would be way
too pro consumers there. I mean they used to do
that on the Game Boy Advance with like links for swords.

(01:22:25):
I think I could be mistaken about that. I thought
you could, though.

Speaker 2 (01:22:31):
I haven't tried it. I can't tell you.

Speaker 3 (01:22:35):
Yeah, I don't know with like a link cable or something. Anyways. Anyways,
it's it's it's neither here or there. And I'm just
kind of going off on my own tangents at this point.
But let me know what you guys think. Am I
am I misremembering everything here? Or I don't know anyways?

Speaker 2 (01:22:51):
Uh? I next didn't do enough multiplayer things to like
can act actively recall and tell you yeah yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:23:01):
Well anyways, I I had this other one up on here.
I don't have a whole lot to say about it, though,
So do you want to just skip this topic or
do you want to talk about it?

Speaker 2 (01:23:10):
We can, we can just bring it up. I guess
ten decides to spend a billion dollars to buy stick
In and ub Solve subsidiary. So what you were saying,
is they what they move like a bunch of very
popular ips into a new subsidiary and then like ten

(01:23:30):
Cent bought a quarter like of twenty five percent stake
for a billion dollar something like that.

Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
Yeah, uh, it's it's nuts.

Speaker 2 (01:23:41):
Money to throw around like that. It must be.

Speaker 3 (01:23:43):
It's it's over a billion. It was like one point
one point one. Let me, I could probably look up
the story. I didn't write anything down. I just I
threw it in here as like a thing that we
can maybe fill in if we wanted to. Honestly, I'm
not sure I have a whole lot to say about
it anymore, because I did talk about on JRPG Weekly Update,

(01:24:04):
and it's just I know that some people are like, oh,
that's just you know business. That's that's businesses buying businesses,
and that's you know, I mean, nothing wrong with a
big old, you know, oligarchical game of pac Man. You know,
just corporations eating each.

Speaker 2 (01:24:21):
Other to walk.

Speaker 3 (01:24:24):
Yeah, just doing the Katamari Domasi ball with like all
of the gaming companies.

Speaker 2 (01:24:29):
Sure, like, yes, what it feels like.

Speaker 3 (01:24:33):
Yeah, just just rolling around the big ball of money
and just sticking all of the corporations to one another,
That's what it feels like. Yeah, And I know this,
And people are like, oh, is this like a is
this a China bad thing?

Speaker 2 (01:24:45):
And like, well, I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:24:47):
I don't have strong feelings about it, but I do
have strong feelings about like every time Microsoft buys a
company that I like, or you know that that consolidation
in general just feels like crap. I don't like it,
and it's usually not good for anybody. Yeah, And that said,
Mobsoft is like a sinking or they were are a
sinking ship, like they've they've had some really rough patches

(01:25:09):
these last few years. Yeah, and uh, and so like
are they would they go under without some infusion of capital?
I mean, at least I don't think that that was
required for Konami to turn things around. But then again,
Konami wasn't really losing money at any point.

Speaker 2 (01:25:25):
Yeah, Like they just feel like they rather make pachinko games.

Speaker 3 (01:25:30):
And that was very profitable for some time until like
pandemic pandemic.

Speaker 2 (01:25:35):
And they're like, uh oh yeah, but like.

Speaker 3 (01:25:39):
It doesn't take you know, billions of dollars to make
a really good game, Like.

Speaker 2 (01:25:45):
It really doesn't, and we've seen that being the case.
But then again, you know, money talks.

Speaker 3 (01:25:54):
Yeah, and I mean so, so part of it is like,
is this raising capital to make good games or is
this people at the top cashing out?

Speaker 2 (01:26:02):
Cashing out? You think probably, oh yeah, absolutely this is
cashing out. They're not they have no intention in using
this new capital to fund new endeavors. No, they're cashing out.

Speaker 3 (01:26:14):
And also, like with ten Cent, like do they do
they want to buy this stake because of the kindness
of their hearts. No, No, they want to They want
to return on investment, either in one form or the other.
So either in terms of like just extracting more money
from you know, they want to get more money out
than they put in. That's generally how investors work.

Speaker 2 (01:26:37):
So that's the that's the first thing.

Speaker 3 (01:26:38):
But also sometimes it's to influence certain art projects.

Speaker 2 (01:26:44):
If ten Cent releases a new MMO based on the
Assassin's Creed world is here first?

Speaker 3 (01:26:52):
Oh interesting?

Speaker 2 (01:26:54):
Oh you didn't you didn't hear this?

Speaker 3 (01:26:56):
Just oops all assassins.

Speaker 2 (01:26:58):
Yeah, I mean just it's be like a Genschin impact
kind of mmo. Quoe unquote. It's not like the kind
of MMO of the yester years. It's like instant based.
But then you can kind of play with your friends
and they're definitely gotcha's yeah, Assassin's Creed. I mean, don't
don't don't uh don't quote me on this, but you know,

(01:27:20):
if there was ever a move like that in the
next two three years, you know, yeah, it will be surprised.

Speaker 3 (01:27:28):
Anyways. So some of the ways that you might get
more money out of a game than you put into
it is by making products cheaper and costing more, or
by including micro transactions or other things that are generally
uh there to just extract money from consumers. And uh yeah,
that's that's basically. They're just they're just that's gonna that's

(01:27:51):
gonna be great in the end. I'm sure it's great.

Speaker 2 (01:27:54):
Let's well corporate.

Speaker 3 (01:27:56):
Yep, that's basically it. That's all I really I had
to say about ten Cent really, so we can move
along because it's not even really JRPG related. Dude, does
does Ubisoft have any JRPGs? The only thing I know
that they made that I actually care about at this
point was the original like Scott Pilgrim versus the World
the game.

Speaker 2 (01:28:16):
Uh, Ubisoft had a child Flight Childhood Light. Oh yeah,
Ubisoft did child Light, which is really good, but like
that was like their one and only, like Entry.

Speaker 3 (01:28:30):
All right, well, maybe there's a physical copy I can
go buy somewhere and uh and just wash my hands.

Speaker 2 (01:28:36):
Child Flight is actually a pretty good game. Yeah, it's
surprising that it came from Ubisoft. I think everyone no
one saw this one coming. Yeah, what this is from
Ubi Soft? How is that possible? All right? So should
we move on to the last topic?

Speaker 3 (01:28:55):
Sure, you want to introduce it?

Speaker 2 (01:28:56):
A Zelda movie releasing in twenty twenty seven. Action Zela
movie in twenty twenty seven. Boy, uh, yeah, I don't.
I don't know about this one.

Speaker 3 (01:29:07):
I know, I'm apprehensive that we don't have any any
trailer or anything. I did at the on the JPG
update though I showed off a two thout gosh okay,
it's from two thousand and eight. IGN made an April
Fools trailer for a Legend of Zelda, like almost almost

(01:29:30):
like a trailer for like a Lord of the Rings
style movie. It looked really hype, and looking back at
it is like that still holds up pretty well. That
that teaser is sixteen years old. Man, that April Fools
video is sixteen years old, but it looks sick. And

(01:29:52):
it made me think when I went back to rewatch
it that if they do, I mean a couple thoughts.
The first is it's to be live action, so it
should not be cartoony, right. If they were gonna make
a cartoony and funny they would have done it in
CGI like they did Mario Bros.

Speaker 2 (01:30:11):
Yeah, that's the part that I'm very apprehensive about. Like
some things just don't look right in live action. As
much as Disney keeps thinking it does, it really doesn't know.

Speaker 3 (01:30:28):
And like there's definitely like with CGI and and and
mixing it with real people, like there there can definitely
be some uncanny valley stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:30:40):
Oh and haven't we seen that already? What is that
battle Angel something or an Alida.

Speaker 3 (01:30:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:30:46):
Yeah, it's just like, oh my.

Speaker 3 (01:30:48):
That was a weird choice. I mean, I get it
because she's supposed to look kind of unnatural because she's
a cyborg.

Speaker 2 (01:30:58):
Yeah, but yeah, they can use all kinds of reasoning
to explain their decisions and it won't stop it from
looking weird. I agree. Yeah, yeah, I'm very apprehensive about it.
I just think some things aren't meant for live action,
and I don't know why to keep trying to live
action everything. I'm like, you already have an established fan

(01:31:20):
base who are already in tune with like three D
CGI models because of the games. Why are you forcing
this to be a live action? Like what benefit do
you have to do this as a live action versus
a CGI movie.

Speaker 3 (01:31:36):
I think that's what I am if they took it
into let's say, Twilight Prince Zonic kind of thing, Twilight
Princess is what I'm thinking. Do you remember it's a
little bit of a darker Zelda, not quite like Majorities
Mask levels of darkness, but like some some like more
grim kind of presentation of Zelda. Imagine maybe. So here

(01:32:03):
here's something that somebody mentioned in my JERPG update video
in the comments imagine, so Link doesn't talk, perhaps he's
mute from being maybe traumatized or something at a young
age or something something bad, you know. But but then
through you know, the world is in chaos. Ganandorf is

(01:32:25):
doing whatever. It's not good. So he finds the courage
to fight back in a world set against him. The
courage the triforce of courage that he imbues and and
takes up the sword. A movie with a protagonist who
is relatively quiet could be very atmospheric.

Speaker 2 (01:32:48):
That's that doesn't answer to why life action deal though
you could have done that in CG or in two
D animation. That's more like just the plot though, right, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:32:59):
Yeah, what I'm talking about is is plot. But I
do feel that, like for the same reason you wouldn't
do Lord of the Rings in CGI, like because you
want it to be real and kind of visceral and atmospheric.
Been like maybe show off some real world locations and
and like make it feel real and epic. Right, I

(01:33:21):
don't know if that's what they're gonna do, Like, that's
probably what I would try to do.

Speaker 2 (01:33:25):
Yeah, I mean that's definitely possible. We'll see, We'll have
to see. We have nothing to work off of other
than this is the thing that's coming and so here
you go.

Speaker 3 (01:33:33):
So there are there are ways that they could do
this in a way that I think could work. It's
not why they're gonna do probably not. They're probably gonna
I don't know. Jack Black is Zelda.

Speaker 2 (01:33:47):
Jack Black as Zelda would be an interesting choice.

Speaker 3 (01:33:51):
The ruck the rock, the ruck is link Yeah, John Cena,
but okay, I just can't see him in that role.
The rock is lak John Cena, I cannot see him

(01:34:12):
in that role.

Speaker 2 (01:34:14):
I mean he he would deliver the excuse me Prince's
line very well.

Speaker 3 (01:34:19):
Baku, I can't see John Cena in that. Okay, okay,
let's move on, yeah, ye, all right, fine, anyways, let's
move along to talking about to ignore it. Well, see,
here's the thing. I feel like if I repeat the joke,
it gets funnier every time. So let's move on to smoothie.

(01:34:44):
Questions that we got from last week. Yeah, yeah, is
this is this the thing? Yeah? Sure, yeah, we got
some comments.

Speaker 2 (01:34:50):
From last week.

Speaker 3 (01:34:51):
Yes, well not last week though, from last podcast. Yes, yes,
Kanye has cannon.

Speaker 2 (01:35:00):
Miami though.

Speaker 3 (01:35:02):
Okay, so this one comes from Joshua Bonell I I
probably said that wrong, or it might be Bonnet. Anyways,
they say, I really appreciate the spirit and perspective in
the creative process that they're taking with Ulterium Shift. So
this was in a response to our interview with with

(01:35:24):
the developer of a or one of the developers of
Ulterium Shift, or both of the developers two of the
developers of Alium Shifts. Yeah, that's right, they were both there.
That was awesome. And I also really enjoyed the spirit
and perspective of Ulterium Shift. It's you know, the it's
a very interesting, unique perspective being able to you know,

(01:35:45):
shift the world around and see different things. That's very
very very cool.

Speaker 2 (01:35:51):
Yeah, and I can't wait to hear more from them
whenever they are ready to release the game or some
kind of playable I'm there for it. And yeah, also
looking forward to doing more interviews. And of course, as
you all know, we were supposed to do an interview
with chen Zi. Yes, yeah, over with my familiar Bud

(01:36:17):
that has been postponed. There are some bigger news that
they're working on, and we wanted to save it. Yeah, yeah,
we want to save it for another interview. So but
We will have other interviews as well, so please stay
tuned for more of these kind of in depth conversation

(01:36:38):
with game developers coming up.

Speaker 3 (01:36:42):
All right, next up, We also got this comment here
from Anthony Herrick, who says, almost nine hundred.

Speaker 2 (01:36:49):
Woo, almost almost nine hundred so close?

Speaker 3 (01:36:53):
Do you remember what the what the goal was if
we hit a thousand, by what time we would do it?

Speaker 2 (01:37:00):
I'm giving up the time thing because I feel like
it's not really fair. We we we didn't do a
show for like three weeks, like a whole month, nothing,
So like that's not okay fair?

Speaker 3 (01:37:10):
All right, fine, maybe maybe we'll push back the timeline
a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:37:15):
Yeah, but if we hit one thousand, sub Derek will
continue his journey on uh what is that? Uh silent
Hill too?

Speaker 3 (01:37:27):
All right, okay, cool, So make sure you guys get
subscribed if you haven't already. It really really does.

Speaker 2 (01:37:31):
Help us out a lot. Yeah, tell your family and
friends about us, and uh, you guys can share games
on the switch.

Speaker 3 (01:37:41):
Yeah, only you're only allowed to tell your family about us. Actually,
if you tell your friends, it's a breach of contract.
You're breaking our eu LA. It will come after you.

Speaker 2 (01:37:51):
Nintend will be letitious, man, you'll be it, be careful. Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:37:56):
Finally, we got this other message here from Ian Boyd,
who says, and of course Konami has announced a brand
new sweegod in a free to play mobile sweet course
upside down. Of course, I mean, yes, just because they
are making some good decisions doesn't mean that every step

(01:38:18):
is going to be in the right direction. But but
I have heard through the grapevine though, that this is
a new sweeg Oden where yes, there is gotcha and
it is it is free to play, and it is mobile.
But dude, the trailer looks good and the gotcha is

(01:38:38):
optional for like collecting characters from previous titles, but not
necessary to play the game. So that at least by
my estimations, like okay, maybe maybe, especially because there's no
way in hell I'm putting my credit card on a phone,

(01:39:01):
Like that's just a rule of thumb. I've not I
haven't paid for anything on my phone, Like I've paid
for the phone and I use it like it is.

Speaker 2 (01:39:09):
Yeah, you're asking for it if you put your credit
card on a phone.

Speaker 3 (01:39:12):
Yeah, as soon as as soon as you like get
over that first barrier. It's it's just like it starts
with drawing money on its own, so so don't do that.
Yeah so yeah, but anyways, if you if you play smart,
you might be able to enjoy a pretty cool sweetcoding
game without falling into the pitfall the trap that is

(01:39:35):
the gotcha stuff and it is a.

Speaker 2 (01:39:37):
Trap, so you know, absolutely a trap.

Speaker 3 (01:39:40):
Yeah. So that about does it for today's show. If
you enjoyed today's episode of hit Voint, make sure you
get subscribed if you're not already, or if you are
listening on to one of the audio platforms that we
stream on or upload to after the pack, make sure
you give us a like or a review or a
what ever they have out there. Uh, you know, tell

(01:40:03):
tell your echo dot to like hit Point on Amazon
podcast or Amazon Music. It's we're there. Did you know
that we're on Amazon? Yeah, Virtual Bone. And with that,
I hope you'll have a great rest of your night
and we'll see you guys next weekend, I think. Uh,
And until then, have a great night, everybody, take care

(01:40:26):
of audios.

Speaker 5 (01:40:29):
Yeah, a seer any time.
