screw things up every time that it is my turn
to to change things up. Uh, Baku, do you have
a microphone right now?
Speaker 3 (01:42):
I do have a microphone? Can people hear me? Okay?
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Actually I think I might have screwed that up because
we've changed so I mean I think they can hear you, ish,
but it's really quiet. So let me fix this real quick.
Uh huh yeah, yep, there's.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Might prefer that. I don't know you guys hear me now? No?
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Nope, no, they still can't hear you.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Hang on, hm, we are the professional, all right, keep

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Too loud in the stream, folks. Yeah, hi, yeah, okay, all.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Right, I think I think now if you talk, how
how does every Okay? Can everybody let us know how
Baku sounds?
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Yes? Please let me know other than like fix his voice.
I can't do that, so we're total only talking about
volume here. Sounds good to me. Thank good, Okay, I
appreciate it. All right, guys.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Thanks, let's let's bring let's let's let's do this over.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Let's bring it back.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
Hey, you're already welcome back to the most professional podcast
on all of YouTube, hit Point, the j RPG Podcast.
We'll be previewing some trailers and that's about it. It
is a showcase night today. You can sell. You can
tell by the way that we are in our fancy
new uh fancy new. You wouldn't believe what we had
to pay to rent out this space. Yeah, but uh
(03:20):
oh yeah I am. I am over the moon. Guys.
It is so good to be here. Gosh.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
I yeah. Derek flew in and we're like, and boy,
are my arm's tired? Yeah, I'm holding his hand right now.
You guys can't see oh yeah there, yeah see yeah,
he's right here, right next to me.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Anyways, Hey, everybody, thank you so much for joining us
on this fine Sunday night. Well, I mean, as always
we always stream on this Sunday night, where we also
uh intentionally totally intentionally were the exact same shirt, which
you can get over at shopped at Superderk RPG's dot com.
Uh this is uh yeah, yeah, we're just just gonna
(04:04):
do nothing but chill tonight. Yeah yeah, awesome, man.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
You guys knew what you guys come into. You guys
know our brand Buco.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
How are you doing?
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Man?
Speaker 3 (04:17):
I am doing fantastic, sir. Uh. You know, I was
just over the moon watching that in the quest thing
and i'd actually watched it live over on Twitch. Yeah,
and lots of lots of furry supportive uh community members.
I think it all came in. We all kind of
(04:38):
like geeked out over all the games that are coming out.
It was a fun time. It's a it's a great
I say this all the time, but it's a great
time to be an RPG fan. It really is. So
shout outs to all the folks, including Derek, who was
in the video by the way. Uh what, I don't
know if you guys have seen it, but what.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
H so Yeah, I actually, you know, I think that's
the first piece of like on stream camera anything that
I've done in a in a while. Celebrity status, I know, right,
celebrities Oh gez no, no people came by my stream
and they're like, oh, Bacco, when are you going to show?
(05:20):
I'm like, did I look like I got invited? I
mean I probably should have asked you if you wanted
to be I mean I.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Think I am so kidding kidding, No, people did ask
I don't like. No, I'm tiny potato. We need Derek status.
You're our favorite potato, everybody's favorite potato. Yes, no, but
it was a lot of fun. I'm so glad they
did it, and I look forward to seeing something similar.
(05:49):
Uh year the year absolutely just getting us. It makes
my life so much easier when you just group all
these like indep dev games and all the RPGs get
her and I just watched it in one go. I'm like,
all right, now I know what to talk about with you.
Instead of going to like eighty different sources, It's exact
all there. So uh yeah, No, I had a fantastic
(06:11):
week story. How about you?
Speaker 2 (06:12):
What you do? I Uh, I've actually been gaming a
little bit, just some private gaming, some some Amy and
me time gaming. Uh we just started boulders Gate three.
Uh So a lot of you might not know this,
but uh, Amy and I actually played D and D together.
In a in a I don't know, would you call
it a troop of sorts? We play D and D
(06:35):
fivey uh and uh, it's it's been a lot of fun.
But our our DM had to go away for about
a month or so, and uh. And I'm like, I
can't just let that, you know, I can't let that slide.
I got to go on a side quest and and
so did Amy, and I'm like, well, let's just try
this boulders Gate three thing out. So, uh. I got
(06:55):
my steam deck, first time I've been using my steam
deck in a long time. I got it hooked up
to my TV out front in the living room with
a couple of PS five controllers connected to the dock,
and I have it connected to the TV so it's
basically a console, but I'm streaming from my gaming PC
to it, so I actually have a much higher fidelity,
(07:20):
like four K sixty setup. Did you know that steamlink
is fucking garbage as far as like streaming quality goes
from like local streaming turns out like I was trying
to I was just trying to play like seven twenty
p sixty frames. I'm like, this is probably sufficient on
(07:42):
a steam deck, and it just had these terrible dropouts.
So I spent part of my week this week perfecting
the setup using Sunshine and Moonlight. So it's a Sunshine
as a server that you run on your gaming computer
and you stream it out over Moonlight as the client
side app on the deck, and and with that over
(08:06):
Wi Fi like Wi Fi, like good Wi Fi, like
WiFi six. Uh yeah, WiFi six. So I have like
three hundred megabits per second speed between the two, I
can do like four K sixty and it's really nice.
And look at this ment, I know it's it's really
really nice. I mean it's not like max settings or anything,
(08:28):
but like I can at least stream in like a
decent setting like there's no four, no no HDR or whatever.
So I mean I'm not I'm not that pcm R,
you know, but but I uh yeah, that's what I
That's what I did. That's my my excursion into gaming,
and so far it's been really fun. We're about ten
hours in. We're still in like the main area, just
(08:51):
doing all of the side quests, recreating our in game
characters in the world of boulders Gate three, and it's
been so much fun. Yeah, I can't I can't wait
to maybe you know, geg out about Bolder Gate three
at some point. But for some reason, something about the
Western RPG was easier for me to approach right now
(09:13):
than uh than like just streaming at JRPG. I don't
know why. I'll figure it out sometime.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
And we have moods. Man, Sometimes I just straight up
don't want an RPG period, Like I want to play
literally anything else. And I think that's fine.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
It's probably a good idea. You removed the JRPG from
your handle Bakusan JRPG.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Uh. It was one move in my host streamer thing
that I do not regret at all. Yeah. Yeah, they're like,
what happened to a GRPG?
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Like, I mean, that is how I found you though
I literally went to Twitch and I typed in JRPG.
You were streaming near automata and like this guy seems neat.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
That's literally really the only thing that I think about sometimes,
like that's how Derek found me, and that is what
we've been doing.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
But I was also, you know, new to twitch at
the time, like I didn't. I mean, first of all,
they didn't really have a JRFG category on Twitch back
in the day. Uh, and I think that they do
now and also like they do they do they still not?
Speaker 3 (10:21):
No, I mean category is not really a thing, but
oh is it no longer a thing? Yeah, no, it's
just what is it called? It's a tag that they're
like tags. Yeah, but they got like a community, they
got rid of the whole community thing.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Well, all right, let's go ahead and uh move along,
because we have we have some stuff to talk about,
so we let's let's start with some of the upcoming releases,
h that are well upcoming.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
Uh yes, uh, let me go ahead and go through these.
So really is just two games that we need to
talk about, and they really need no introduction with you guys.
One is Briefly Default very HD Remaster, and the other
is Delta Rune for three and Chapter four, which, oh boy,
(11:10):
I'm going to say and being very impartial because I've
played I've actually only played Briefly Default, but I'm going
to say that Delta Rune is the thing that a
lot of people are very excited about lots of time.
Don't we have any Toby Fox fan in here, Toby
Fox fan? Yeah, I mean I've told you already about
(11:34):
why I'm never gonna cover a Toby Fox game, and
it has nothing to do with the fact that I,
you know, just like the guy or his games. Far
from it.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
I actually really do.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
I did enjoy my time with Undertail, but I am
never gonna make a video talking about Undertail because I
don't want to bring that kind of you know, that
kind of attention to my channel.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
If he thought Trails fans are intense, you have, oh
my pretty scene Undertail, but he's like, if.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
A fan base can give Matt Pat like a stress
induced the psychotic break or whatever. I don't know what
he actually had, but he sounded like he was really
scarred by his experience making any sort of videos talking
about Undertails. I'm like, if Matt pat can't handle it,
and he's got, you know, millions of subscribers, I mean
(12:24):
that probably amplifies it somewhat. But I also just I
don't know, it's just not a skiing. We're risking all
lives just mentioning the word undertail on this on this
podcast right now. But that's okay because we're kind of
talking about well, I mean, we we did only mention
Delta Rune, so that's.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
I also said Toby Fox, so the danger is definitely there,
ever presence danger AnyWho. The news is that these games
will be coming out actually on the exact same day,
on June fifth, So if you've been waiting for the
HD remapter to briefly Default, which is actually a fantastic game, uh,
(13:04):
and also Delta Roune, which is you know, building up
to be a fantastic uh you know, I don't want
to say successor, but uh, the second game perhaps like
a follow up uh to uh, you know, the the
insanity that was like Undertail just really took like the
indie like you know game World by Storm, right and
(13:26):
still probably a lot of people's like favorite games. Uh,
definitely check that out. By the way, I do want
to mention that Delta Rune uh is what the first
two chapters are free, right, The first two chapters are
free and then chapter three, four, five and six are
going to it's going to end a chapter six and
(13:47):
you only need to pay once. So if you pay
for three and four, five and six are just free
for you when they come out, so you're not gonna
have to buy chapter three and four end chapter they're
five and six. You just pay one time and you
get the four chapters coming out.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Yeah, that's that's pretty sick.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
Yeah, yeah, I I respect that. I mean, he he
doesn't need to get paid. But at the same time,
it's like, I think that's very reasonable, right, So yeah, okay.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
I mean, I mean, yeah, I I suspect he's gotten
paid for his his breakout successes as like a sole
developer of this cult classic. I'm sure he's probably not hurting,
but it's not hurting. Also, super generous to uh to
have such a killer deal.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
For sure, he could he could totally charge every chapter
and people will happily pay for it. Oh yeah, No,
he's only making you pay one time, and it's not
like that expensive. It's like I remember correctly, it was
like twenty bucks, which is pretty reasonable affordable, yeah, for
an indie game of that caliber.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
So yeah, yeah all right, So and and both of
those are coming out on the fifth of this month,
that's correct, Keep your eyes up in a few days.
So next up, we have some new games that were announced.
Did you have these divided up? Yeah, it looks like
looks like this fresh one's mind.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
So so yeah, before we get into the Indie Quest
twenty twenty five Insanity, here are the ones that weren't
in indie Quest twenty twenty five but were announced nonetheless
last week that we want you to know about. And
starting with, of course, the thing that Derek's about to say,
which this game is called Gold Gold Adventure Gold. Oh yeah,
(15:29):
that is the actual title. No typos, that.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Gold Gold Adventure Gold is coming from developer, Can Can
Can a Man comes in a okay, okay, from developer
Can Can Can a Man comes a new company Colony
Simulation Room. What okay, I'm.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
Sorry, Colony simulation Yes.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
Okay, okay. So the name of the developers can Can
Can of Man comes. No can Can Can of Man
is can Can Cannon Man?
Speaker 3 (15:59):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Yes, okay, that that made it hard to.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Also not a typo. By the way, the developer's name
is can Can Can a Man?
Speaker 2 (16:12):
Okay, all right, all them Developer Can Can Can a
Man Comes a new colony simulation reverse RPG called Gold
Gold Adventure Gold.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
I'm so glad I picked you to read this.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
I mean, I feel like some punctuation would have probably
saved me a little bit of confusion.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
But this is it's so funny.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
In this game, you are not the hero and you
are not going to the dungeon. But you will be
footing the bill. You will be building some colonies, collecting
some taxes, hiring heroes. Oh yeah, if you're collecting taxes,
you're definitely not collecting taxes hiring heroes to go on
adventures and pray that they make it back alive. Shall
(17:00):
we go?
Speaker 3 (17:02):
Go?
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Uh? Yep, yep, go go watch the Yeah, here's the
trailer breaking my place.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
My ass did Jesus.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
Uh No, I'm pushing the pa my there we go,
here you.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Here we go?
Speaker 2 (17:23):
All right? Can you can you hit the play button
for me? I I sure can, since we're in the
same room.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
I think I'm kitchen to get to work. It's a
really cool looking game. The graphics is superb.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
So you basically you hired these heroes and then, uh,
they'll protect your town. They will go into adventures.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
This looks bizarre, I mean, but that's kind of what
you're signing up for, right Yeah. With a name like
gold Gold Adventure Gold from the can Can Canon, a man.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Can can can a man. Yeah, gold, gold is the
ultimate currency and gold is where loyalty lies. They're all mercenaries,
right so oh yeah, yeah gold too.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Yeah, so they're not really heroes that you're hiring. They're
they're if.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
You want people to support them, right, yeah, Okay, you're.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
Just going to keep playing these basically, right? Is that right?
Or do you want to keep talking about it now?
Speaker 3 (18:38):
Let's let's let's go through it like normal for now
until look at the Oh okay, I gotcha, gotcha? Yeah?
So when so?
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Yes, so in this game? Yeah, yeah, you're going to
be able to play it in early Access on the
twentieth of this month here, which currently being developed for
PC via esteem.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
Yes, that game looks really good. I'm excited for it.
I'm not big on these like colony builds or like
these like sort of like macro strategy games, but that's
basically what it is. It's kind of a it's kind
of a macro strategy that.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
The reason I don't like those macro strategy games is
that often they're tied to like cool down timers that
you have to like pay to unlock. So as long
as like that's not the you know, like one of
those AMK sims or whatever.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
No, I don't think this is the case. I feel
like this is more gonna be like the what's that one?
Game that came out that was like a really big hit,
the Cult game, you know, the Cult the Lamb. Yeah,
I feel like it's going to be something something similar
to that, except instead of a cult, you're running colonies,
and instead of having cult members, you have these adventurers.
(19:44):
Yeah right, so so similar vibe. But yeah, oh right.
The next game we've got is called Shape Protocol from
developer Little Legendary, is a very promising size scrolling sci
fi two D metro vania, and we've got a trailer
for you. Let's take a look already. I really like
(20:08):
the look of this. I'm actually interested in playing this
for a two D oh metro vania. That looks pretty good.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Yeah, it's like a metroid vania, but maybe the visuals
kind of remind me of a little more capcom style,
maybe a little more either Mega Man h slash slash,
maybe a little more like Castlevania style stylish.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
I like how they implement like some of these like
UI and stuff.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
Oh that's interesting, right, So you can that the traversal
slash the frame of the screen to.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
Yeah, isn't that cool. Yeah? I saw this and I
was like, Okay, I might be interested. I might be
I might be interested in this. This is really cool
and of course the obligatory yes, yeah, many a cuts.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
And of course like they don't fall until they've sheaved
the sword. That is one of my favorite tropes. Oh,
multi hit that's nice.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
Oh you can block Meco Wolf. Yeah that is beautiful.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
Yes, what's that? I want to show it off?
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Wow. Yeah, that's not usually my cup of tea, but
you know, I'll I'm here for it. Man, that's cool.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
So this one is slated for release in twenty twenty
six on PC v ESTEEM.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
All right, well, this next one is uh it's coming
out here. It's from the developer Hexad Hexa Drive comes
a new Japanese style horror adventure game called see if
I can pronounce this right, it's near uh narayah naraya
of uh, and I think that's how it's pronounced, especially
(22:09):
like in Japanese. That is, of course uh narayah okay.
So uh. In this game, you must guide a child
named Uni through a haunted world in search of a
way home. So let's take a look.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
At the full way home. These guys, why can't they
just be happy in the underworld?
Speaker 2 (22:29):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
Man, always trying to escape death. Jeez. Also for those
who are wondering that the name is literally uh nied
Aya of beep, yep, that is not a mistake.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
That's yeah, from sleep to another worldly.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
Eh.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
I'm hoping that is not like a protect a Lemming
kind of situation, because those games are never fun. If
you make an entire game of sport mission, I don't
know how I feel about it, but it.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
Looks like it controls from the perspective of the girl though,
so I don't think that's gonna be the case, but
I yeah, I'm if assuming we're seeing in game gameplay,
because like, look, if you control the camera, you can
look up and down.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
So I'll be playing this uh this year, not this June,
this October.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
Oh, if you get this out by them, it almost
looks like the hardest enemy in the game is going
to be the camera.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
Though, if it's just zoomed out just a little bit more,
it'd be nice.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
Oh that's yeah, that's.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
Guide this child safely home. Oh my god, lots of
responsibility on our shoulders.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
Yeah, so that that looks pretty neat. Pause. Okay, yeah,
that looks pretty neat. And it's slated for Q four,
twenty twenty five only on PCVA Steam.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
Yeah, we'll see what Q four means. If Q four
means don't uh you know, October November.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Well, that'd be about the right time if they can
swing it.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
But if they can swing it, but if it's next
year's this next year.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
I was gonna say, though, this is an internationally developed game,
or or rather it's a game developed elsewhere. Yeah, Japanese
style horror adventure. I assume it's made in Japan. I
don't know. It could be whatever, but I don't I
don't know. Is Halloween like a that's not a celebrated
(24:44):
holiday and other japan parts of the world. I don't
know about Japan specific or I mean I.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Know that they in Asia actually we do have something
similar to Halloween, you know, but it's usually in July.
It's in it's in uh summertime, not like wintertime.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
Interesting.
Speaker 3 (25:04):
Yeah, yeah, it's kind of like we have a certain
day where we uh because so like East Asia, we
have what they call like ancestual warship right so yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
So kind of like there's uh the de La Smartas essentially.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Like a kind of like that. Yeah, and we do
have a day where we would at least the belief
is that the dead would come and visit, like the
the relatives would come and visit, right and whatnot. So
we do have something similar to that as usually during summertime. Uh,
and then there would be like a send off like
(25:39):
sending them back, you know, and all that fun stuff.
So uh yeah, so not quite Halloween, but something similar
in the summertime.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
Nice. Well. Yeah, so I don't know if they're gonna
be aiming for an October release, but I suppose if
they're gonna miss summer, they may as well aim for.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
October, yeah, or next summer. I don't know, Like I
want some good games for Speptober this year. That's why, Yeah,
I need to look through my list. AnyWho, speaking of
a list of great games, let's dive into Indie Quest
twenty twenty five. So, for some of you who has
(26:20):
been in the know, who's been watching a show and
you listened to what we were saying, Indy Quest twenty
twenty five happened last Thursday, and it is a showcase
of more than forty independently made JRPGs. And you know
that there were lots of trailers and then Derek was
(26:42):
in it, and I I.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Was, I was what what nobody mentioned that I was
going to be in that?
Speaker 3 (26:49):
You didn't know Derek was in there? Who didn't tell
Derek that Trek's going to be in there? How, Derek? No, crazy,
un alievable. Now, having set that, of course, we would
love to have time to go through all forty plus games,
but we just don't have that kind of time or
attention span for that matter. I already did a whole
(27:11):
live show where we talked about it like real life,
and I considered it so that we can just look
at Derek's beautiful face in the trailer, but we have
we have Derek at home, and I feel like Derek
at home is good enough. So what we're going to
do instead is gonna rapid fire some of the trailers,
specifically on games that we have not talked about before
(27:33):
or new announcements. That way, we're respecting your time and
we're pretty much respecting our time. Obviously, there are lots
of games in there from our good friends whom we
have interviewed, like you know, Gosh the Chronicle, you know,
Fortunate Fay. We're just not gonna go in to talk
(27:54):
about those because guess what, we have a full interview
for each of those games.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
I still I still need to actually go rewatch the
parts that I wasn't a part of, but because I
really I still haven't had a chance to sit through
all of it, so a lot of these are going
to be new to me. Also, yeah, but I'm looking
up before anyone says.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
Hey, how come you guys didn't talk about Garctalk Chronicle.
I thought you guys loved them. Yeah, we love them
so much that we have a f interview. Yeah, go
watch that.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
Please do. And also also, like, I mean, if I
was just gonna like, I don't know as far as
like reaction content goes. I mean, and I know that
I don't want to. I don't want to be like
one of the react guys. I know that technically that's
kind of what we do when we showcase some of
these traits, but I don't want to literally just like
put on the gaming shelves indiquest video and like talk
(28:46):
over it for two and a half hours.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
So absolutely, Yeah, Yeah, so we've I've done I've done
some you know, dugging. And I looked at what we
have talked about, well, we haven't talked about out what
you know really catches our eyes. And here is a
distilled list, if you will, of games that will be showcasing. So,
(29:08):
mister Derek, now we can, you know, just go right
onto that new scene and then we can just sort
of wash the trailers and talk. Figure.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
Let's let's do this right.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
Oh whoa, it's okay, Yeah, I can hit the play button.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
Oh yeah, yeah, please do there you go, thank you.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
Yeah. So this first game is called Legends of Starkadia,
and I could not find a new trailer, but this
they have a new trailer India indiew.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
A lot of those new trailers are exclusives or at
least exclusive premieres, so they're not out now.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
It's just this one.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
Just not this one, okay, just not this one.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
So to the developer of Legends of Starkadia, please put
out your new trailer now that that showcase is done,
because the rest of your peers have already put their
new trailers that and now was able to find them
with ease. And I've tried to look for it on YouTube.
I just couldn't. But this is still really good. It
still gives you an idea what this game plays like.
(30:10):
So and it looks really good. Uh. Yes, up Nix
is Zara's Adventure and I really like this one.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
I love that other one. You think it kind of
looked a little I want to say Steven Universe ish.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
I don't know if it is trying to channel that
by but it give me that.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
I think you check this game out. It's it's so quirky.
I absolutely love this game. The art style, the color,
the music, I like, everything just works.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
It feels very much lighthearted. Oh look at the enemies,
the crabs like winking at you.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
Yeah, just just just look at all the animation. I
think you will really appreciate this one, because I feel
like you're a bit of an uh you know, game
animation nerd.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
I am, Oh, that looks a little as it picks
like Mario, like like a Mario Yoshi's Island kind of.
I don't know, part of me feels that way. Ah dude,
(31:17):
the frog wearing sunglasses using a metal pipe, yep, green pipe. There,
totally a little Mario referenced there. Some coins, Yeah, yeah, Okay,
there's some serious inspirations going on here from all over
the place. I'm liking what I'm seeing here here though.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
Yeah, it's tied together really well.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
This just looks like it's gonna be nuts.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
Mm hmm. I'm actually really excited for this.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
The bomb, the bomb exclamation totally totally straight from Earthbound.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
The more I watch this, the more I want to play.
This kick started coming soon.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
That is you know us Adventure.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
Maybe maybe maybe before the kickstarter maybe maybe we'll find
maybe a cool developer. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Anyways, Oh, so we have talked about this one before.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
I think we have talked about this one, but it
was such a long time ago and we didn't really
have any gameplay, but I figured, why not us take
a look at this. Yeah, I think you're right.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
We didn't really get to see it in action.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
So there's a lot of like cut scenes and it's just.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
Like we can but first person dungeon crawling.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
Yeah, you'll get to see battle this time. And this
game is called The Time I Have Left. The graphic
is this phenomenal? Uh? You know, it's got like a
PS three maybe four vibe.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
Yeah, I'd say PS three ish, like early.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
For late three.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
Yeah. So it's like a term based affair with like
button pressing to dodge and potentially counter.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
So okay, So kind of got that petition. Yeah, kind
of Mario RPG ish kind of legend of Dragoony maybe
a little bit, uh what's that? Well, maybe not legend
of Dragoon. That's probably not the best expedition.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Thirty three feels like, yeah, animy attack, you can dodge
all counter kind of like you have to time it. Yeah,
that's what it feels like. All right, at this next one,
I think you might be interested. It's called the back World.
Yes we did.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
I think we did showcase this also, uh once we
talked about it. Yeah, because as I remember talking about
what the back rooms are, uh and the earth boundiness yeah,
like or rather maybe mother threeishness?
Speaker 3 (34:03):
Did you play this?
Speaker 2 (34:04):
I I mean.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
Yeah, on the one hand is horror phoning other hand, it.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
Is turn based RPG Trump's horror baby. Yeah, like yeah,
as soon as you give me an opponent I can fight,
then I'm probably okay. It's the ones where you just
have to run away that I can't stand.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
What you us love Silent Hill too, you can fight
them all day. I did.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Did you see how I played Silent Hill too?
Speaker 3 (34:33):
I was yeah, I was aggressive. Act that one of
these days.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Yeah, whenever we hit a thousand subscribers. I think maybe
it'll be October. Oh yes, I did see this trailer. Uh,
independently of everything else, uh tactics returners.
Speaker 3 (34:50):
Yeah, this.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
I was like, back when I should talk about this,
but then I was like, yeah, we're gonna talk about
this no matter what.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
At some point.
Speaker 2 (34:57):
Yeah, oh man, it's pretty. The visuals of it reminded
me of.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
The cut in animation is so pretty. They look at
the cut in that. Oh yeah, yes, I'm like, dang,
that is some quality cut in animation.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
This is an indie.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
This is an indie.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
Because that looked that looked like something square Innex would
do or or maybe like a maybe not square innis
because they wouldn't make something so niche today unless it
was a you know, a re release of something.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
Well they try.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
I hope they proved me wrong. But this looks great,
Like I don't I don't know what I would. I
can't place what the art style reminds me of.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
It's well, I know it plays like tax over yeah,
but and I'm sure they are a fan. Oh yeah,
but the art style is definitely different. I actually read.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
Me tell you if they have the option to like
move around the town outside of combat and like interact,
it'd be an instant sell for me because I, oh yeah,
I love that. Man. That's what I love about Shining
Force so much as a tactics RPG is like you
can still like explore the world and like go to
ends and oh what's this?
Speaker 3 (36:29):
This one is called Colossu's Eternal Blight.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
That's that's some pretty pixel art. Yeah, what are they
gonna do with it? Okay? I like what I'm seeing
so far. Is this an action rpg?
Speaker 3 (36:47):
Yes, this is an action rpg.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
I love two D action rpg They are some of
my favorites. Oh, and that's some pretty art.
Speaker 3 (36:58):
I might have already picked this list for for Derek's amusement.
I might have. I might have done that after making
him announce yet another horror game. I feel like this
is the least I can do to Oh.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
Okay, let's let's see the combat inaction here. I gotta,
I gotta, I gotta hype responsibly. Oh look at that.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
Yep, there you go.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
Oh uh huh, yeah you're down. Oh okay, I'm picking
up what you're putting down. Oh yes, line him up,
(37:43):
knock him down. Uh huh.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
I've been doing this for a minute with Derek. I
I have an idea what he might like.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
Oh, Colossus Eternal Blint.
Speaker 3 (37:56):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
Oh that was sick. Okay, yeah that I gotta write
that one down. I need to uh wow, Okay, now
we have another title that we definitely have to showcase
here from our friends. That's something classic.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
Yeah, so many Tylers have worked tirelessly on this.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
But not Tyler.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
Lesslie Tyler, but not Tyler.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (38:27):
This game is very Tyler Fowe.
Speaker 2 (38:30):
All right. It's been a while since I've seen a
new trailer about quartet and this this makes me happy.
Oh have you you haven't? You haven't played The Shadows
of Adam yet, have you?
Speaker 3 (38:48):
No? I keep my ti ty keeps telling me to
play it, and I keep telling him I don't have
time to play it.
Speaker 2 (38:55):
Play it by yourself, you know, play it off stream.
It's it's really what is that a hippo type roping?
Or did they walk up?
Speaker 3 (39:01):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (39:02):
Okay, is.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
The hippo was climbing.
Speaker 2 (39:06):
Up that parallax scrolling? Though? I know they you know
something Classic have some really incredible artists and and I
really loved my Timeless Shadows about them.
Speaker 3 (39:19):
And yeah, I have to say the strength of this
game from what I've played, it's like things that you
can't even see because it's like the humor in the game,
like yeah, you're you're seeing the pretty like they are
great and just and the you know, the sense of humor,
but that sense of humor in that writing, and you
(39:44):
can't you can't even get that from here. So that's
why I have to say it, like like, let me
tell you, it is a fantastic adventure.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
Uh, you know, it's the stuff that we loved about
jerrpgs of the Super Nintendo era. They didn't take themselves
overly seriously like sometimes they would. Sometimes you can't take
yourself seriously, but like if you're making serious one hundred
percent of the time, the nothing is serious.
Speaker 3 (40:12):
Let me just pause this for a second because I
do want to talk about some things. So for this game,
we do have a firm thank you Something Classic for
a firm release date of August twenty six. Hey, that's
my birthday? Is that that birthday?
Speaker 2 (40:32):
That is my birthday?
Speaker 3 (40:34):
Thank you so much, Tyler's Wow. The Tylers know that
it's your birthday, and they've decided to release the game
on your birth Oh my goodness, oh my god. All
the Tyler's is showing up in chat now they need
to make sure that we stop and talk about the game. Well, yeah,
of course knew. They're like, you're not going to blow
(40:54):
through this, are you know? Oh no, no, no, no, no,
we wouldn't, dare Tyler Sir Tyler's Yeah no. But seriously,
I'm super excited that they finally have a release day.
And I didn't know that was actually on Derek's breath.
I know your birthday is in late August, but I
didn't know it was like on the day, which that
(41:14):
is the day.
Speaker 2 (41:15):
Yeah, yeah, as it was for told you know, the
very special.
Speaker 3 (41:19):
Day apparently the Tyler's new and I didn't so so
on the birth on the date of birth of the
Great Super Derek that is August twenty sixth, again for everyone.
If you guys want to wish Derek a birthday this year,
just make sure to do that. It's always away yet
we have we have three months to get there. You'll
(41:42):
remember in three months now that release is for PC
and you can get that game on Steam, geog Epic
Windows Store and is also available on mac os now.
This game will be coming out later on on PlayStation
and to switch in late twenty two twenty five. Nice yes,
(42:03):
and one more announcements. Since the Tyler's here, we're actually
going to be inviting to developers to come on to
have a conversation with us and tell us all the inspiration,
development woes, and all the things that you would need
to know before you pick up quartet later in August.
Speaker 2 (42:21):
Let us know. But I am well, first of all, guys,
let us know. If you have questions, please do. But also, second, Bucco,
can our stream handle that many tylers? I mean, well, yeah,
I don't know. We might need to stress test this
a little bit. Well, we'll have to do some play
tests and you know, yeah, some dry runs.
Speaker 3 (42:41):
You know what we need to do. We need to
get like a zoom call going and then just have
like fifty screens. It'll just be me, you and then
like fifty tylers in like a zoom like you did
see those big zoom calls like a square. Yeah, we'll
do that.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
Oh that sounds very stressful. But you know what's not stressful, uh,
hanging hanging out with the guys at something classic and
the Blast.
Speaker 3 (43:08):
It was the Blast They didn't come to Macfest last year,
and I was very disappointed all this year rather.
Speaker 2 (43:13):
But they had some RPGs to make.
Speaker 3 (43:16):
No, I know they they they're they're in crunch time.
They're trying to get this game out the door. So
I respect it. Maybe next year, Well we'll see.
Speaker 2 (43:23):
Them, all right, shall we switch back to uh, theater
mode and and let's.
Speaker 3 (43:29):
Do yeah's return to the theater mode.
Speaker 2 (43:34):
All right, theater mode Engage.
Speaker 3 (43:40):
Dome zero. Oh, another one that I am pretty exciting. Interesting.
Speaker 2 (43:44):
So this is Dome RPG.
Speaker 3 (43:46):
Yes RPG.
Speaker 2 (43:48):
Okay, at first I was, oh, that's a little moon
sighty uh. At first though, I was gonna say, oh, gosh,
tell me this is not going to be a sim
of the Nintendo v R console. Okay, the Virtual Boy,
Yeah that's it. Yeah, no, but it's it's definitely a
(44:09):
mix of Oh man, what.
Speaker 3 (44:12):
Is is that really? Like a love letter to a
certain air?
Speaker 2 (44:16):
Oh my gosh. That was definitely like Mother One inspired there,
I'm certain, Oh my gosh. Well, hold on, I gotta
I gotta rewatch that. That's fine because that was that
was such a a quick burst of like overload, something
about like the clown characters also just itched something or
(44:37):
tickled something in the back of my mind. I don't
know what it is, like Circus Charlie, maybe from like
the Arcades. We actually had a Circus Charlie arcade cabinet
in my uh in my not my home, my daycare.
You the game No No No, in the in the
daycare that I went to as a kid. It was wild.
(44:59):
But look that that looks so familiar. That sokobund stage.
What was that?
Speaker 3 (45:06):
I don't know, Okay, I this is this is you know, going.
Speaker 2 (45:13):
Down to I'm sorry, I something about this is just
like trying to draw out some core memory of mine
and I don't know what the hell it is.
Speaker 3 (45:25):
We watch it enough times, maybe it'll work.
Speaker 2 (45:28):
I know, maybe maybe not. But that that stage, what
is that?
Speaker 3 (45:35):
Oh hh okay, that's a good question, Derek. What does that?
Speaker 2 (45:41):
I I don't know. Okay, okay, fine, you know what.
We'll just let's just move on and I'll I'll confront
my inner demons later.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
Oh that looks so cool though, Yes, very like super
contracted things that I feel like will take.
Speaker 2 (45:56):
A hold on, hold on. I think you found another
thing for me.
Speaker 3 (46:02):
I know now. This one is less earthbound and more Undertail.
Once you see the combat, you'll understand what I mean. Okay, yeah,
it's definitely a little bit more active. Is like dodging
things and whatnot. It's psychological. Yeah, okay, it looks really good.
(46:24):
I'm actually very interested in playing this one personally.
Speaker 2 (46:30):
Why is it that like Undertail and and Mother and
Earthbound Mother three have have such terrifying INSPI inspired games, Yet.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
You see that kind of like dodging. Yeah, I do
feels feels more Undertail.
Speaker 2 (46:50):
I mean as far as like gameplay, sure, Oh that's
gonna wreck me. I'm sure.
Speaker 3 (46:56):
Yeah, it's definitely in that family of that. And you know, yeah,
if I can't group them together? What is it about
these RPGs that causes people such emotional damage? I think
(47:19):
part of it is because when we had these graphics,
we were still like vulnerable and impressionable kids.
Speaker 2 (47:27):
Oh it's the Geigas fight. I think that's part of it.
That's probably what That's probably got to be at least
one of the foundations there of all of the what's.
Speaker 3 (47:38):
This of all of the other studio is a lot
rhapsody that the year Oh that's that's the year Mega
Man took place. Yeah, in fact, I suspect that it's
the same year. So this is from the guy guys
(48:00):
who made a beloved Rapture and start Rapturous Studio. Oh yes,
these are the beloved Rapture guys. So good to see
them making another game.
Speaker 2 (48:12):
Definitely, I'm curious. I'm intrigued.
Speaker 3 (48:27):
Hmm see, yes, we'll be reading U. We'll be reading
Super Chad towards the end of the show, so.
Speaker 2 (48:35):
Oh yeah, yeah, we'll get I don't know, we'll read Nation.
Speaker 3 (48:38):
That's yea, as we typically do. That is what we did.
We were super chat quick. I just love that you
can just throw a missile out from your fists.
Speaker 2 (48:55):
That's cool.
Speaker 3 (48:56):
Did you see this? By the way, look look at
the names in the in the bar.
Speaker 2 (49:00):
Don't the names at the bottom?
Speaker 3 (49:02):
Oh yeah, what bugs?
Speaker 2 (49:09):
It's not it's not Wedge, it's not uh.
Speaker 3 (49:13):
They legally distinctive NC.
Speaker 2 (49:16):
It's not butts.
Speaker 3 (49:20):
Man. There you go. That's sweat al right, And we've
got one more trailer to go through.
Speaker 2 (49:29):
And that other one was definitely not not vis either.
Speaker 3 (49:32):
Yes, definitely not bigs yep.
Speaker 2 (49:36):
Okay, this last.
Speaker 3 (49:38):
One called Infinite Alliance, and we'll talk a little bit
about this after the traders watched the hours.
Speaker 2 (49:48):
From Critical Games. That seems familiar. Who is Critical Games? Again?
Speaker 3 (50:04):
Who is Critical Game? Who are they?
Speaker 2 (50:07):
That sounds so familiar.
Speaker 3 (50:09):
Yeah, eight bit eight eight bit.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
They reunite in this crossover event. No way they what?
Speaker 1 (50:22):
Wait?
Speaker 5 (50:22):
What?
Speaker 3 (50:24):
Wait? Wait? Wait? No, you're you're looking at her correctly,
exactly what you think it is.
Speaker 2 (50:34):
What it is.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
Super smash brother of indie RPGs. But also everyone is here.
Everyone is here. Everyone is here. Oh my god, Yes,
that's right. It's the eight Big Adventures. Guys are leading
the charge in this one. Hell yes, I would love
(51:01):
to talk to them about this whole thing. Maybe maybe
we'll get some insight from Tyler when when you got
to give.
Speaker 5 (51:07):
A chance to grab.
Speaker 6 (51:10):
Those Oh my god, this is great, oh infinite Alliant Alliance.
Speaker 1 (51:23):
Dude.
Speaker 3 (51:25):
All right, so we do have to talk a little
bit about this game, of course. Uh now yeah, are
you are you mind blown yet?
Speaker 2 (51:34):
Are you?
Speaker 3 (51:34):
Are you blown?
Speaker 2 (51:36):
I'm gonna I need to play so many of these games,
I know in order to like understand them.
Speaker 3 (51:46):
Yeah, it's it's like watching individual Marvel movies and then
watching the adventures. Right, this is the Adventure of Oh
my gosh, Jr.
Speaker 2 (51:59):
Wait uh uh, Ty says Infinite Alliance trailer wasn't over.
Speaker 3 (52:05):
Oh it's not. I just passed it for a second.
Oh what is for free? But this is this is why,
this is why I paused it, Ty, because I wanted
to give Derek some time to digest the first and
then give him more information. That's right. This game is
on a low low price of free and all for free. Yeah,
(52:30):
if you so decide to give them money, uh, it
will just go towards charity. And you could totally do
that too, So feel free to throw money at them.
They will throw it towards charity. I would actually like
to know which charity that they're looking to a sponsor,
but that I feel like that might not be have
been decided or they haven't you know, mentioned it just yet. Wow.
Speaker 2 (52:53):
Okay, So, by the way, I can't you can't see
this very because of this overlay here. But it says
support us by the games involved in this project.
Speaker 3 (53:03):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (53:05):
I think that's what it says underneath that.
Speaker 3 (53:07):
And I can't tell you guys exactly what games that
involve and what the characters are. So INDIEGPG sorry Indie
Japanese style RPG crossover Infinite Alliance, was announced, of course,
during the Indie Quest twenty twenty five showcase. The game
(53:28):
is developed by Critical Games. As we've mentioned, they are
the folks behind the eight Bit Adventures games which you
like so much, And it features ten different heroes from
actually no ificures heroes from ten different indie JRPGs. So
let me just list them out so you know which
games they're actually from. You've got Glenn from Chain Echoes,
(53:51):
the Warrior from A Bit Adventures.
Speaker 2 (53:54):
Too, Glenn from Chained Chained Echoes, Okay, yes, okay, okay,
Noah from from Jack Move, which I actually really like
Jack Move I recognized, okay, cool.
Speaker 3 (54:05):
From my familiar Baron Irony from Eternal Remnant. Okay, Alexandra
from quartet Rio from Shrines Legacy I recognized, yep, you
do right, Dustin from Kingdoms of the Dump of course,
moving trash cans. Wait, who was that? Yeah, I'm just
(54:29):
I'm just sad that they didn't put the hippo in
this game. You don't what were you thinking, Tyler, You
don't know? It was great? Yeah? Okay, yeah, so we
get Dustin from Kingdoms of the Dump. We got a
Chryl from for a Vast Future and Geo from Geo Mythica.
(54:53):
These are the different games that will be involved in
this adventure of ge RPG crossed Over Infinite Alliance. Fantastic dude.
Speaker 2 (55:05):
Yes, that's so cool, okay, And I wanted I wanted
to check one other thing here real quick that there's
there's a guy on a who just kind of skateboarded.
Did he skateboard in or I want to see that again?
Speaker 3 (55:18):
Just just just rewash you rewatch the whole thing.
Speaker 2 (55:20):
No, no, just okay, okay, you walked this part. Okay,
I just want okay, Yeah, let's let's rewatch the whole
thing again.
Speaker 3 (55:25):
Because the whole thing watched the whole thing.
Speaker 2 (55:27):
Press play? Please? Can you press play?
Speaker 3 (55:31):
I got it? Yeah, because we're totally in the same
room right now. Yeah, I'm okay. He believed this. They
(55:53):
hide this from us.
Speaker 2 (55:55):
I know, right under our noses, Like we've gotten some
we've gotten some behind the scenes information about some things,
the saying one of them.
Speaker 3 (56:04):
Talked to like, have the developers here personally well on
first name basis, and they hit this from us. I know,
I want to And did you guys know your first
name Tyler Tyler, Tyler Tyler, James Matt Tyler see first
(56:27):
name basis Man, I told you, oh.
Speaker 2 (56:39):
Ah, that's so cool. I And it's free.
Speaker 3 (56:46):
It's free. You got so many people. I think this
is a fantastic, dude. I mean in two ways it
is it is advertisement, also is charity and also so
you get to play a game for free. So I
just feel like it's win win win all round for
(57:06):
everyone involved. Yeah, that is so cool, such a great project.
That is so cool.
Speaker 2 (57:15):
I mean I feel like I've said that a couple
of times already, but but it is really just.
Speaker 3 (57:23):
Man, you know what we are while we're waiting. This
game will be released in twenty twenty six, So Derek,
you do have some time to play those ten games
before this one comes out.
Speaker 2 (57:36):
An alliance of ten ten RPGs.
Speaker 3 (57:41):
You know what you have played for Fast Future already.
So that's what I have. Yeah, so that's that's the
fun you played. They're all fun to you, I think,
I mean and chain echoes.
Speaker 2 (57:51):
Oh man, I wonder if there will there have to
be Easter eggs though, right, like from from other I mean,
we don't know. I'm just I'm just thinking out loud
like that there's gotta be some kind of Easter eggs
from from each of them, Like, uh, I'm.
Speaker 3 (58:06):
Kind of praying to all these games, like you know,
like there are ten games. I'm praying that all ten
of them would come out and give me sufficient time
to enjoy them before this, because, like you said, like
you need to get going to be hard to fully
enjoy a crossover situation if I don't know the character
from their respective worlds.
Speaker 2 (58:24):
But maybe that's also a good reason why it's also
absolutely free, which is which is sick because like, yeah,
oh my god, that's so cool. Anyways, you know what
I think I remember there was there was a thing
in in the in the advertisement for Indiquest where they
(58:47):
were saying a brand new game would be announced from
a critically acclaimed h and and I think it's it's
funny because it's like it's from all of them, but
it's it's like, yeah, critical Game, Yes, I love it, man.
Speaker 3 (59:07):
Critical Games. Mmmm oh boy, oh yes, we absolutely love it.
So yeah, thank you guys for putting this together. Honestly,
uh and I really again just really appreciated the showcase,
and I hope that there will be a new one
(59:28):
next year so that we can see this again. This
is the gatherings. I know, it was a fantastic, fantastic event.
Uh Okay, So that's all the games that we have
for this week. Uh now, we've got two little piece
of industry news and we're going to read the super
(59:51):
chat re stuff from last week and we're gonna wrap
the show. So all right. The first piece of industry
news that we have is the unfortunate news that director
Tatsuya Kando leaves Square Innex after twenty nine years of service.
So for those who might not know who Tatsya Kando is,
(01:00:13):
he's actually best known for his involvement with Kingdom Hearts
and probably more so with the World Ends with You series,
so it is definitely a bit of a loss there.
He has cited that the reason for leaving is just
for personal reasons, so we're not quite sure why he
(01:00:34):
had left after almost thirty years of working there.
Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
But I mean personally speaking, like after thirty years of
working anywhere, I'd probably be about ready to retire, I think.
Speaker 3 (01:00:46):
Yeah, I mean Japan is a little different. Yeah, japan
culture is a little different like you basically, I mean,
as long as you're doing well, Like you basically stay
at the place and they don't find you, don't leave
right right. Yeah, it's not like us where we kind
of bounced around sometimes. But yeah, but yeah, but we
don't know exactly why he left, but he will be missed. Uh,
(01:01:08):
and we don't know what he will be doing next.
I see.
Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
Not a dude has been working at Square Enix since
their prime since like ninety six.
Speaker 3 (01:01:19):
Yeah. Wow, that crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:01:21):
Yeah, I mean, dang well, props for sticking to it
through thick and thin, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:01:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
Well, I guess I shouldn't say from Square Enix. I
don't know if they start, if he started specifically at
Square Software, if he was on NX side, I don't know. Yeah,
but he's he's been through a lot, that's for sure. Hm.
Speaker 3 (01:01:41):
That's right, all right. So that's just a little bit
of a news up. Next. This one I think is hilarious. Uh.
And you know, we've got a we've got a game publication. Uh,
some of you guys might know, and it's called Push
Square Now. They recently released an article questioning the choice
(01:02:04):
of one such Kojima, who is currently working on Depth
Stranding two h and as you guys may know, Deft
Stranding is no stranger to bringing in celebrities and the
likes into the games. Uh so in Depth Stranding one.
As a matter of fact, that we had Conan O'Brien
the game. Wait whatmember that.
Speaker 2 (01:02:27):
I never played it.
Speaker 3 (01:02:29):
So had Conan O'Brien on devth Stranding one. So you know,
obviously for eccentric uh developer, he likes what he likes
and he's not afraid to, you know, tell you what
he likes, and he will include all kinds of different
elements to make the game interesting. Uh, here's what something
(01:02:49):
he's something that my fans would know this, but other
people may not know. Did you know that Kojima is
a pretty big fan of youtubersv tubers.
Speaker 2 (01:02:59):
I mean I know, actually I knew that he was
like into movies. I knew that it was like really
into like Terminator. If you ever look at the if
you ever watched the original or saw that the original
box art for the original Metal Gear, it was it
was Kyle Reese from Terminator that they just like traced.
It's it's yeah, pretty spot on. Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:03:19):
And there's there's other things.
Speaker 2 (01:03:20):
I know. He likes Western cinema, Western cinema, like specifically,
uh snake pliskin uh named straight taken from Escape from
New York. Uh yeah and Escape from LA of course.
Speaker 3 (01:03:35):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:03:35):
So I know that he's into Western media and yeah,
and movies, but but v tube YouTubers.
Speaker 3 (01:03:42):
Yeah. So as a matter of fact, Uh, he's he's
actually very much into all kinds of media. And I
think that's what makes him great because he's not like
siloed into like a thing. He keeps a broad interest
and he keeps you know, the pulse on, you know,
what's what's in and you know, he you know, keeps
his mind open. You know, he's just go like, well,
(01:04:04):
I'm Kojima, I know what I like.
Speaker 2 (01:04:07):
No, Yeah, he just takes.
Speaker 3 (01:04:08):
In all kinds of different media. There's got to be
a reason why, like certain things are popular, you know,
and he explores that with a humble mince. And I
respect him now because of that. So the article from
school Push Square actually questions, Uh, this clip that we're
about to show you, So we do have a quick
clip that we have for the upcoming game. Uh, what
(01:04:33):
death strang trending too on the beach. Let's take a
look at that clip and then we can continue with
what's going on here?
Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
Okay, here is a clip of Normans.
Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
Yep, that's and that's all it is. He's just saying
thank you. So yeah, So what you're seeing right now
is a very popular actually betuber name is Usata Pecorra. Now,
(01:05:10):
for some folks who don't really follow this, let me
just give you her rap sheet for about I want
to say, for about a year and a half, she
was the most watched female streamer in the world. Her
concurrent views go somewhere between like twenty to thirty thousand views.
(01:05:31):
At the same time, she's not like a nobody, right Yeah,
I know, yes, now, yeah, it certainly is to be
able to entertain like thirty thousand people at a time
on average, not and even on average that's like every
single stream you turn on, thirty thousand people watching you.
(01:05:52):
Oh so, just to not to hype her up, but
really just to say that she's not like a nobody
right now, implications push squares like yeah, like we just
don't know who this person is, Like is it really
does it really make sense to have like a betuber
in in this game? Like what is Kachima thinking? And boy,
(01:06:14):
let me tell you.
Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
Are they getting they're.
Speaker 3 (01:06:17):
Getting married getting Twitter. Yes. And and here's the reason why, Okay,
because uh and and and I mentioned early for a reason, uh,
and that is Koachima has long expressed that he really liked, uh,
you know, was that a Pekua in fact, that he
had invited her into her studio taking pictures together, et cetera,
(01:06:41):
et cetera. Right, Uh, And so it's it's not really
a secret. Anyone who has ever followed Kojima like knows
that this is probably happening months ahead. By the way,
months months ahead was already uh speculation that this is
going to happen. So I just feel like, you know what,
(01:07:02):
some of these publications just really need to like step
out of like you know, there's a decade ago. Yeah,
and just understand that the world is moving in a
pace that they need to spend a little bit more
time to catch up. I guess. So there it is.
So it was not a pacer in death Stining two,
(01:07:23):
which is uh in it that in itself is the announcement.
But also yeah, maybe you know us a game publication, Okay,
like us a normal person who's like not really don't
really have the pulse on the industry, Like I totally
understand that you don't know who this person is or
why they do it or any of the relation. But
you know what, if you don't have to game publication,
(01:07:45):
maybe do a little research firus too before you send
stuff out and then get absolutely buried. I think I
saw did they pose.
Speaker 2 (01:07:53):
Did they ask? Like was it? Was it posed as
like a normal question, like oh, this is weird. I
wonder why that is or was.
Speaker 3 (01:07:59):
It Like it was more like we just don't see it,
you know, like it's kind of oh, yeah, we just
don't see it, Like ConA Nobrien makes sense, but this
we just don't get it, like you don't have to
get it, like oh, and they said it like oh,
but this is not a real person. There's a real
person behind his character, you know what I'm saying, Like.
Speaker 2 (01:08:19):
I mean, and it looked like they were some sort
of in world hologram from like I mean, that was
what I was getting from it.
Speaker 3 (01:08:26):
Also also the video game guys like yeah, yeah, seriously,
like are you really questioning why you can have like
a two D character in a video game. It's a
video game. It's a freaking video game. You can have
anything in there. There's a video game also, it's Kojima,
Like I mean really asking.
Speaker 2 (01:08:45):
This, and I will say, like, don't don't forget, like
these these games that try to depict ultra realism are
going to be depicting like things that exists in our world.
And holograms. Maybe they don't exist right now, but you
(01:09:06):
know maybe someday they would, and you know that people
would totally have holograms of two D wif Wu's like everywhere,
like that would that's totally going to be a thing.
So like just because like it's like just because it
takes place in like a you know, post apocalyptic world
where there's advanced technology doesn't mean that like all of
(01:09:30):
the the anime uh you know and and stuff, uh
you know two D characters doesn't mean that they're you know,
going away necessarily too. Like it's I don't know there.
Speaker 3 (01:09:42):
Yeah, it was kind of like a backhanded common I
think like they didn't outright go like oh this is
disgusting and terrible.
Speaker 2 (01:09:49):
This is immersion breaking or whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:09:51):
Yeah, they didn't go that far, but they're like, huh,
we questioned this decision. I mean, yeah, we see that,
but this we just don't understand. Well, you're really behind
the times, is with that's telling me, so try to
keep up push square.
Speaker 2 (01:10:06):
So one thing that I will mention kind of tangentially.
It's not actually related at all, but it made me
think of it anyway. Did you know that earlier today
I was talking about going into some of my Western
RPGs playing stuff and I and I realized that right
(01:10:26):
now there's a big Old Elder Scrolls sale going on
right now. Oh so yeah, with a lot of bundles
that are really good. The brand new Oblivion remake that
just came out recently was fifty bucks. Now it's forty
so wow, that's not bad after like one month. Also,
you can get the Skyrim Special Edition and gosh what
(01:10:51):
I got the Skyrim Special Edition and the Anniversary Edition
like bundled together for like fifteen bucks. Oh wow, and
the VR version of Skyrim for another fifty bucks.
Speaker 3 (01:11:00):
Not have Skyroom before? Why did you need to buy it?
Speaker 2 (01:11:03):
I always pirated, I'm kidding. It's because I played on
like uh, it's because I collected on like PS five, well,
not PS FI, PS four, PSS three.
Speaker 3 (01:11:19):
Steam.
Speaker 2 (01:11:19):
Yeah, I wanted it on Steam and and actually I
think I had Oblivion. I think I bought it originally
on a disc like hard copy back in twenty wow, yeah,
back in twenty eleven, eleven and eleven so like, but
that was the stock standard version of it, so so yeah, yeah,
(01:11:41):
I never actually owned the second or special edition, nor
the anniversary edition like upgrades or whatever. So yeah, super
super cool sales going on over there right now. And
I'm kind of thinking I'm gonna try the VR one honestly,
because I got that head I haven't really put it
to use at all. And and here's here's I guess
(01:12:04):
that brings it full circle. I'm gonna be probably wearing
that VR headset that was in the thumbnail. We tied
it together.
Speaker 3 (01:12:11):
Ey there you go, all right? Who circle? All right,
So that's all the news that we have for today,
and now we've got some time for super chat.
Speaker 2 (01:12:23):
Yes, super chats, so super chat. Let me pull these
up here, because I think that we started off with
this one from vapor Wave, who says, Hi, guys, so
happy to have these Sunday streams back. Where would you
guys rank Wild Arms one? Gotta say it's my number
(01:12:44):
one RPG of all time?
Speaker 3 (01:12:47):
Wow? Wow, Arms one?
Speaker 2 (01:12:51):
You played it?
Speaker 3 (01:12:52):
Yeah, A long long time ago. Oka only played it
on original hardware in Japanese. I will say, in my opinion,
the intro, the intro song that plays in the animated sequence,
that that is probably my absolute second favorite intro scene
on PlayStation one. I was about to say the best,
(01:13:16):
but then Colonel Trigger kind of really ste I'm sorry,
Colonel cross Across Across. Oh my god, Clonel Crosses intro
did kind of steal it. But but yeah, Wild Arms
one man, with that, with that Marcone style inspired intro,
with the whistling, I can already I can hear it
in my head right now. If I could whistle under pressure,
(01:13:39):
Uh then I could.
Speaker 2 (01:13:40):
I could totally do that right now. So that's fantastic. Yeah,
Wild Arms one Man, it's been a while, it's been
a long.
Speaker 3 (01:13:49):
Been a long time.
Speaker 2 (01:13:50):
Yeah, it's probably not been as long for me though,
because I at least reviewed it eight years ago or so.
If I had to take a stab in the dark,
I like it a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
Though.
Speaker 2 (01:14:06):
As far as like PlayStation ARPGs goes, I mean, this
was like one of the first big deal PlayStation RPGs.
It just edged out you know, Final Fantasy seven I think,
so it was like just released before Final Fantasy seven
got big, and it had you know, some quaint, you
know polygons that were pretty cool. But I love the
(01:14:27):
fact that the world, the base world was still like
inside towns and stuff was still just a high quality
sixteen bit yeah, and the characters were all cool, and
it still felt very Western. After that, Wild Arms two
felt like a lot less of a Western and I
guess Western is still kind of like in air quotes here,
(01:14:51):
But Wild Arms one, I would say, man like, yeah,
I ranked that probably not my favorite overall. Uh maybe
probably not top five, probably top ten though, because I'm
when I'm thinking of like top five, at least two
of those are going to Breath of Fire three and four.
(01:15:12):
I mean, so that's that takes up two slots. And
then you got Chronole Cross, which I love and I
know is device you're talking about just PlayStation one. Grandia, Yeah,
I'm talking about PlayStation one. So like Grondia and God
Star Ocean two second story was so so good, So like,
(01:15:33):
there's there's a lot of really good, really tough competition.
Speaker 3 (01:15:37):
Yes, PlayStation one is still part of the Golden like Air,
so I'd say it's.
Speaker 2 (01:15:42):
Probably even it's probably even the pinnacle of the ARA.
If I'm being honest with myself, as much as I
love Super Nintendo, as much as I love it, uh,
they're really there's there's there's more stellar PlayStation one game
for RPGs, then there are RPGs on the Super Nintendo.
(01:16:05):
Total like it's it's such a golden collection of games
on pso so that makes it really tough. So but
I will say I think that it's going to be
in my top ten, but I haven't.
Speaker 3 (01:16:18):
Had to spite all that is impressive. Yeah, yeah, absolutely
a lot of games for me. I don't think it
would be fair for me to try to rank it
because my recollection of it is very loose because I
played it more than twenty years. Oh many, when did
(01:16:40):
I play it? Like twenty five years ago? Maybe more? Yeah, no,
more than twenty five years.
Speaker 2 (01:16:47):
You should give it another go. I think that the
puzzles in it were pretty pretty nice.
Speaker 3 (01:16:52):
The I was kind of hoping that, you know, ar
invantation will come down and then I'll just play that
and just pretend that you know, you know, this is
like the old Sister and.
Speaker 2 (01:17:01):
Be a little Johnny com lately. Sure, sure, Well, I
guess I guess you did play the original, but it's
been a while.
Speaker 3 (01:17:06):
It's been yeah, man, So yeah, thank you so much
for sharing that with us. We appreciated and we do
enjoy those games from that era for sure, So I'm
glad that we have some connoisseurs also from that time
period joining us today now.
Speaker 2 (01:17:29):
They they did actually have another question for us, and
that is, uh, if we ever played Neo Fantasia and
I and I'm not sure if they meant Fantasian Neo
Dimension or probably that because I'm looking up Neo Fantation,
I'm not seeing anything except this. I mean, I've played
Fantation the originally release and uh, and I've been trying
(01:17:53):
to get Baca to play it ever since. So I
don't know, Baku, have you played the the Neo Dimension?
Speaker 5 (01:17:59):
Really?
Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
I have not. I have not a time, but it
is on my two playlists, So I'll get to that
at some point, sure, maybe.
Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
Probably when I play the rest of would you say
Expedition thirty three? No? No? No? When I the horror
game you're making Hill two?
Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
Yeah, that one may make you do anything, Derek. You
made me by subscribing to this channel. You made me
play a horror game. And when we hit a thousand dollars,
a thousand dollars, when we hit a thousand subscribers, then
you'll make me do it again.
Speaker 3 (01:18:37):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (01:18:38):
Well, by the way, we are closing in on that
on that.
Speaker 3 (01:18:40):
Goal, right, we are only eighty nine subscribers away from
hitting them one thousand mark. And it would be so
nice if we can hit the one thousand mark, not
only because one thousand is like a pretty number, it's
all nice and even and stuff, but because that's when
we can start monetizing this channel, and that's going to
(01:19:00):
help us pay for certain things that's related to bringing
this to you guys. So the sooner we can get
that the.
Speaker 2 (01:19:08):
Beat, that would be nice.
Speaker 3 (01:19:10):
It would be nice. But but thank you so much
guys for and continue support.
Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
And on the subject, last week, we got some comments
on our last podcast and user with some a serial
number afterwards says what do we get for being in
the top one thousand subscribers? And I would say ads,
but that's not actually the case, because you get ads anyway.
It's just we we get to cut. What do you
(01:19:35):
get for being in the top first one thousand subscribers? Well,
let me tell you. I will tell you, this is
a pretty prestigious, pretty prestigious podcast you know where you know,
being subscribed gets you in on the first floor. You
gain access to free podcasts, episodes where we talk about
(01:19:59):
you know, JRPG news, indie news sometimes anime news, and
and niche news like like merch and Mecca and all
kinds of cool fun stuff that you guys like anyway,
So by subscribing, you also get to feel better about yourself.
And isn't that what we all want? It's just that
little bit of superiority complex and being like, yeah, I
(01:20:20):
was I was on.
Speaker 3 (01:20:21):
I was here first, exactly. I just want the first
one thousand people out of ten million viewers?
Speaker 2 (01:20:32):
Mmmm?
Speaker 3 (01:20:33):
Are we aiming for ten million? Where I think we are?
Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
Yeah? I think that's how.
Speaker 3 (01:20:37):
That's not end goal. Okay, as soon as we hit
ten million subscriber, we're going to quit.
Speaker 2 (01:20:42):
I'm just aiming to get I'm just as soon as
that number rolls over, just like silence. No, I just
I just want to be in a video game where
Norman Ritas shouts to me in Japanese. That would that
would be really my end goal.
Speaker 3 (01:21:00):
I want to meet Kojima and have him put me
in depth Stranding seven.
Speaker 2 (01:21:04):
As long as long as Norman retis the protagonist, I
don't know. It doesn't it doesn't have a real name.
It's just the actor. And as long as he speaks
to me in Japanese, that's that's it.
Speaker 3 (01:21:15):
That's my that's what all you want. Thank you so
much for that question. On that comment. And we've also
got a Razor X ninety who says, no, the intro
don't listen to Baku. Well he didn't know it today
and I didn't call him out, but totally not.
Speaker 2 (01:21:35):
I can't, I can't hear you. I'm covering my ears.
Speaker 3 (01:21:37):
Did not know it. Thank you so much for the comment.
Speaker 2 (01:21:41):
All right, and then some random guy says, oh, my god,
Baku doesn't know that the hamster looking animal is actually
a piccard from the East series.
Speaker 1 (01:21:50):
Fake fan.
Speaker 3 (01:21:52):
Oh they're always just like tiny pixels in the game,
Like does never close up a bit? I don't know,
like you know what. Here's the thing, here's the problem.
I have not play the like high resolution East games,
so like I didn't play eight yet because that's the
next one or nine or ten for that matter. So
if you've seen it up close like high definition pickards.
(01:22:15):
I have not seen it, okay, I've only played for
what it's worth.
Speaker 2 (01:22:19):
First of all, first of all, I'm pretty sure that
that some random guy was being very facetious in his exclamation.
And then second of all, we already knew you were
a fig fan anyway, so it's not a big It's true.
Speaker 3 (01:22:34):
A real fan would have beaten all of the games
and played them again in higher definition, in higher definition.
Just speaking of man, I still need to sell my
copy of East ten because I bought a copy and
then afterwards say like, oh, by the way, here's like
the you know, expanded you know version coming out like soon,
And I'm like, are you serious, Like now you yeah,
(01:22:57):
it's not even like a P five P five royal
situation because it's like, no, this is just strictly a
better version with extra you know, content and story.
Speaker 2 (01:23:07):
That is what P five R is, Like, it's that's
that is what that is five Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:23:12):
So if if mister Dalla was then here, he will
argue with you because in some way P. Five R
was worse and it also like included new characters and
changed the story. So it's like it's not decided, but
this sounds like it's a definitively better you know.
Speaker 2 (01:23:32):
I well in that regard, then PERSONA four Golden does
a lot of the same stuff to PERSONA four. Yeah,
Like they replaced the voice actor for Teddy, for instance,
and you know that doesn't worse. I mean, I kind
of liked the the the original v A and and
(01:23:54):
the new guy sounded a little different. Uh, And I
do believe that new guy is am Regal. So I'm
now obligat obligated that's the word, uh, to say that
I prefer the second because I'm a because I'm a
shameless fan of critical role. So so my my thoughts
(01:24:16):
on the subject are complicated. We'll put it at that.
Speaker 3 (01:24:19):
It's only play only play games in Japanese, and people
know that. So I have no idea who these people are,
but I'm sure they're fantastic. Yeah, I know. It's just yeah,
everyone is so disappointed now, fake fan all around here.
Speaker 2 (01:24:35):
A real fan would play them in Japanese and then
in English, yeah, and.
Speaker 3 (01:24:38):
Then again in another language until you run out of
to Portuguese. Specifically, I got to play the stuff. You
know what I'm doing right now, I'm playing Expedition thirty
three in French right now? Yeah, sure, yeah, I'm learning
all the French curse worts because they curse so much
in that game. But yeah, I can't blame them like
the world and of course, I mean everything is going
(01:25:01):
to beep and I'm pretty sure yeah, I mean it's
I think that's why we say, like part of my
French right, yeah, exactly, lots of quast so okay, lots
of lots of bagh.
Speaker 2 (01:25:15):
Whoa, whoa, hang on, hang on, there we go. I
had to posthumously censor this, not not.
Speaker 3 (01:25:24):
The quast so, not the bag at. Oh okay, yeah,
what was.
Speaker 2 (01:25:29):
The name of that game earlier? Okay, I'm not doing
that anymore.
Speaker 3 (01:25:32):
It's fine. Nanaya nanaya beep yep. Yeah, no, for real, guys,
the game does cross us out that word, because I
guess that's part of like the mystery of the game,
like you figure it out.
Speaker 2 (01:25:47):
Not supposed to know where they are from.
Speaker 3 (01:25:49):
But it's hilarious. Yeah all right, Well that's pretty much
it for us for tonight. Yeah, thank you for our
a voice voicemail number because we haven't had voice. Oh yeah,
you're right, please, yes, send us a voicemail.
Speaker 2 (01:26:06):
Guys, what are you doing, you can send it you
know what I haven't checked. I mean, let me go
check my Google Voice right right quick. Well, well i'll
play it live on the air.
Speaker 3 (01:26:16):
Uh, let's see, I'll give I'll give the announcement.
Speaker 2 (01:26:19):
The last one was from March and that was from
and that was from Google Voice when I when I
reinitiated the uh because it because it expired from inactivity.
Oh no, so uh yeah, if you want to leave
us a voicemail, you may do so at seventy five
three three seven thirty eight oh five and we'll play
(01:26:40):
it on the air if you'd like to, you know,
if if if you'd like to say something uh and
not have to get confused by lack of punctuation like
can can can a man come?
Speaker 7 (01:26:53):
Like?
Speaker 2 (01:26:53):
That was that was Bagu's issue. He didn't punctuate properly.
And and that's when we found out that, you know,
commas really matter. But if you don't want to have
to worry about that sort of thing, you should totally
leave as a voicemail because sometimes it's easier to pick
out the facetious, you know, the the ribbing when when
(01:27:17):
you can hear it over over the airwaves instead of
just leave me end up to our interpretations. Yes, yes,
so do that, and don't forget to give us a
thumbs up here on the on the YouTube, you know.
And I know you always hear this, but the like
comment and subscribe. I tried out to be one of those.
Speaker 3 (01:27:38):
People, especially comment, especially comment.
Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
No both, it's all I mean, well, yes, okay, you
leave a comment, we'll probably read it here too, so
you got that to go with.
Speaker 3 (01:27:48):
But you know, I just love reading it, like Monday morning.
So right now, Sunday night, Monday morning, I've already got
a couple of comments. I'm sipping my coffee on the
first day of the week. I'm dreading right to be in.
But I I just love reading what you guys have
to say about the show. Uh. And then you know
that that that actually keeps me going. I'll admit I'd
like seeing the comments because it makes me happy. It's like,
(01:28:10):
I'm look there, it's a kind of a bit of
a back and forth now right And if you.
Speaker 2 (01:28:14):
Like singing, Baku and I in the same room here
so I can just smack them on the bag then
uh you know, oh yeah, oh yes, I yes, yes,
there we did it. Okay, Okay, yeah, if you like
seeing us in the same room and going through all
these RPGs, and uh yeah, just yeah, do that. It's
(01:28:37):
it's nice and uh and subscribe and and do all
the things because that sends YouTube positive signals and it
actually increases our reach and shows YouTube to shows us
to other people here on YouTube, and uh so do
the reviews on podcasting platforms and stuff. So anyways, that
that whole begging spiel has gone on long enough. I
hope you enjoyed today's episode. Thank you for your time, everybody,
(01:29:00):
and we'll see you in the next one. Where's the button?
Speaker 7 (01:29:03):
Goodbye, everybody, goodbye?
Speaker 5 (01:30:01):
Cut them any sa
