Speaker 1 (00:06):
S s S.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Hey everybody, Welcome back to hit Point, a j RPG
news show, an anime news show, a niche news show,
A show where Baku and I talk about anything and
everything that catches our interest and or ire. We stream
live every single Sunday. Never do we miss a single one.
Every single Sunday, regardless of how up to it on peeling,

(01:30):
Every single Sunday at seven pm Central eight pm Eastern
Time will be preview and some trailers talking a lot
about some industry news. Will be h maybe talking about
some rumors and stuff, and we will also be responding
to some super chats towards the end of the show.
If you're new here, welcome, It is good to have you. Baku,
how are you doing? Man?

Speaker 1 (01:51):
I am doing great. I am two weeks away from
graduating officially with oh my goodness degree in PhD and
wife studies.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Man one knows we're gonna we're gonna need to come
up with a new a new title, a new handle
for you instead of web sauce or or or basan.
Uh would what would we call you?

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Uh? I want everyone your son at least a week.
Just just call me, humor me call me a doctor.
For a week and then we can go back.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I don't like, I do feel like doctor Baku has
sort of this like it rolls off the tongue, Doctor Baku,
you think so, Docubaku, doc Obaku, you know what, put
it through a vote. We'll see, all right, call me
just just for like a week, all right, Well sure,
well we'll see what happens. You know.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Also, I've been I've been playing some Expedition thirty three,
which we'll touch on later in the show. Oh very cool. Yeah,
oh man, that oh that.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
That's been making some waves. I'm kind of feeling like
an odd man out, like sitting on the outside of
this thing right right, Like JRPGs are like my thing.
They're my gym right now, right But meanwhile, like here's
the big like JRPG of the year out of nowhere,
and just like I well, we'll talk about it.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
We'll talk about shack in my head, shake in my head.
How you doing, sir? What are you be enough to?

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Honestly, not a whole heck of a lot. And I
feel kind of terrible saying that, but I mean I've
just been kind of relaxing a little bit lately, and
that has been nice. Amy and I just celebrated our
our anniversary. I was about to say our seventeen year anniversary,
but then it's like if I said seventeen years married,
people would probably be like, you don't look like you've
been old enough to be married to anyone for nearly that. No,

(03:52):
but it's true. Yeah yeah, high school sweethearts. Why you
growing out your facial hair just to like, oh, the
passage of time has occurred. Yes, otherwise I still look
like I did you know the day I graduated?

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Babyface?

Speaker 2 (04:08):
You know what?

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Let me let me share something because this this is
one hundred percent applicable. Yesterday, I just had a adult
lungible themed like party where we brought like co cuts,
like Deli meat and like crackers and stuff, and then
went to priest Son and it was it was great.
It's basically just lungible but like adult version and everyone there,

(04:31):
we're just about our age, right, like just about our age,
like you and I and we were just talking about
how the newer generations just looks so much older. We're like,
what's going on? Like what is our generation?

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Like? I feel like.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
We we we we we aged pretty well.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
I think, oh so so I feel like here's here's
something that has skipped a generation. Uh, and that is
nicotine intake. I think it's like a huge factor, like
because like smoking was like at an all time low
for a long time for our generation, a lot of
us just don't smoke. And then and then vaping became

(05:13):
a thing like right after it. And I'm like, I
was right at the age where like I saw people vaping.
I'm like, that just seems stupid. I mean, sorry to
any people who vape out there, nothing personal, It just
seems like wow, just like I mean, it's money going
literally up in smoke. Like I don't even light of
fireworks on Fourth of July anymore because it's literally just

(05:34):
lighting money on fire.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Oh man, that's what my mother used to say to me.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
But it's true. It matters more when it's your money. Well, yeah,
I was a kid. I didn't give a crap about
that because it wasn't money I was getting anyway.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Sure.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
But anyways, like so here we have like this generation
of of our age of people, which is to say,
mid thirties, late thirties anyways, a lot of us just
don't smoke. But then this new generation comes along and
they're like, hey, I'm good with just you know, ingesting
all kinds of you know, aerosolized chemicals straight into my

(06:17):
blood or you know, into my lungs. And yeah, I
don't think they're injecting it just yet, but I think
that that that nicotine actually does play a huge role
in aging people.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
So my friends that I had an alternative hypothesis, Oh,
that is the generation after us likes to go outside
a lot.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Yeah, that might be it too, I mean definitely.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Yeah, they don't like using any kind of protective lotion, right,
so what they don't like using sun blocks apparently, So yeah,
we think in UV damage.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Yeah, I haven't got much of a choice in the matter.
If I don't wear sunscreen, I'm just I blister, Like
I'm bad. Oh my god, it's I mean, not literally,
but I am. I feel like on the precipice. I mean,
I've got that, I've got that, you know, sunburn. I'm
I'm very like complexted. I got the freckles, you know,
just not the red hair to go with it.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
That's that's.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Anyways. Uh So that is a little bit off topic
of what we're normally going to be talking about. So
how about how about we actually start the show in
earnest we Oh geez.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
No one's here for the show, Derek. They just want
to hear us getting sunburned. All right, if you insist,
let's talk about delays. I know, I know, don't, don't
shoot the messenger. I'm just letting you know. What's going
on in the game that we're going to be talking
about is sorry, Baku, I gotta I've got to do this.
Oh no, no, no, no, no, okay, you can okay,

(07:55):
go ahead, proceed wrong side. I should be the most
professional podcasts on YouTube, absolutely right, all right, the first
game we're going to talk about for game delays is
not a lost sold aside. The game will be delayed

(08:17):
by three months to August twenty ninth. From the CEO
of the development studio. Here's a short message from them,
Dear fans, We're grateful for the positive response where we
see players all over the world since announced, since we

(08:37):
announced Larsa the Side. We remain committed to delivering high
quality game experience to match the standards of Ulti zero
Games have set for ourselves. We're going to take some
additional time to polish the game loss so Aside will
now release on August twenty ninth five. We want to

(08:57):
express our heartfelt things to our fans waiting for the launch.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Yeah it's not so bad.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Three months, Yeah, fly right by.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
So you know, just like Einstein once said, you know, ah,
a delayed game is eventually good.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
But uh but I remember I was there when Einstein
said it.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
M m yeah, so that is unfortunate. Well that fortunately, though,
that is the last delay that we have to talk
about about it. Yeah. Cool, let's go ahead and switch
over to do where's the button to delays? That's the one.

(09:47):
There's the button. I'm a little bit a little bit
practice here. Yeah, the fact that every single week, yeah,
despite the fact that we do this every single Sunday,
I'm a little bit out of practice. But here's here's
a new game. Developer Sting have just announced a new
board game style RPG called Verratical or sorry no rectal. Yes, okay,

(10:18):
well that's that is a that is a name choice.
The game features a blend of cell no not sell
of card battles. Sorry, I'm wearing glasses today. My eyes
just aren't right. The game features a blend of card
battles and board game strategy. You can play either single

(10:39):
player or with friends through online multiplayer, and we have
a trailer to go with it. So let's check that out. Yes, uh,
that didn't work, the most professional stream on all of YouTube.
Let's try that again. Come on, get it together. There

(11:03):
we go, There we go. Oh I I kind of
dig that aesthetic honestly, Right, what exactly is this?

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Yeah, you have to roll the dice, okay, gar different
scenarios it is in. It's in Japanese, but like they
have English localizations. I just couldn't find a video game
for that. So you know, I gotcha. If it didn't
feature English, we wouldn't be talking about it here.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
Yeah, that's kind of neat. I My only thing is
that I'm not a huge fan of card based battles
in general. Like it's just a blah yeah me, neither
is not really my thing, although it really does work

(12:05):
well with like theesthetic.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Yeah, it's kind of like if Mario Party mattered to me.
That's pretty cool. That is pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
I forgot to talk about this well. I was like,
please please finish this one.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Yes, I'm trying to pause the thing. Okay, So, uh,
the game does not yet have a release date, but
it is currently being developed for a PC and it
will eventually come out via Steam. But right now, there
is a demo out on the twelve, so keep your
eyes peeled for that demo. And yeah, maybe maybe this

(12:46):
will be your you know, uh dang it, Mario party.
Maybe maybe this could be the Mario party that that
you care about.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Yeah, I mean this that there's online multiplayer right so
for this game, so you know, you can really treat
it like it's an alternative to like a board game
for tonight if you know you don't want to go out,
you just want to stay in. I just play this
with a couple of friends. I think that. I think
there's some appeal to this for people who likes to

(13:17):
play board games. Anyways, So I was gonna say this earlier,
I thought I kept it in the back of my head.
But yes, the mic situation is fixed. Thank you for
pointing that out, and thank you for all the folks
to pointed out that, like there was something going on
with my mic. I'm kind of glad that I was

(13:41):
running into situations here on Hitpoint because that kind of
narrowed down the culprit to me, like to let me
know what's going on, Yeah, because I was having issues
in my own Twitch stream, but you know, it could
be anything along the sound chain. So yeah, but that's

(14:01):
coming from my own stream. If my it's.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Happening here, your yours, it kind of isolates the issue.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
Yes, yes, so that actually helped out in solving the problem.
And what I was going to tell all of you,
and I'm very embarrassed to admit this, is that.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
You don't have to admit this. It's okay, it's.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Fine, I will admit it. I thought it was like
like a hardware issue. I don't know why didn't check
software first. But what happened was I had this window
update one time, and I completely slipped my mind that
it happened. But for whatever reason, with that one update,
just that one, I've never seen it before happen ever
again or since all of my iisled devices all the

(14:48):
driver reinstalled itself like one after another. I've never seen
that happen as long as I've used the Windows since,
I've never seen that happen. But because things still worked,
I didn't think twice about it. But what happened is
it works, but it dropped my mic volume on the
window side to fifty for some odd reason, I don't know,

(15:11):
I know exactly.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
What you're referring to. And that is the worst because
I yeah, it's it's such it's a setting that's tucked
away in like the weirdest, like out of the way place.
It's so easy to miss that.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
So yeah, anyway, I'm like, you know what, you know what?
You know what gave me gave it away? Was I
added this thing called the fed heead. I don't know
if it's considered anyone who streams or does like audio
engineering things like they know what a fedead is. Basically
it it's like an inline mic activator AMP thing which

(15:47):
should make it louder. And I tried it on stream
and when I try to increase the input, I just clip.
So I'm just like, it's just getting extortions like I'm clipping,
but you're still louder, and it's definitely enough gain. There's
no way there's not enough gain. I have three amps
for this mic. I know this MIC is like notorious

(16:08):
for hard to to play, but I have the audio
interface that has an AMP. I have the processor, the
DBX that has an AM that should drive it by itself,
and I have yep. Yeah, there's there's no way that
we don't have enough gain for this mic. So I'm
just like, you know what the only explanation is is

(16:31):
not a hardware situation but a software situation. And when
don't you know it? Microsoft is like, yeah, you know
what we it's like a rock Ley thing. Do you
remember the Rockley fight versus Gura Agara?

Speaker 2 (16:44):
No? Okay?

Speaker 1 (16:45):
Remember remember the scene you have you washed nauto?

Speaker 2 (16:50):
No I haven't.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Okay, Well there's this infrom Spite where he's like fighting
this other kid and then he was like losing and
then he like dropped these like super heavy weight rock
Oh that okay, Yeah, that's what it felt like when
my volume went up to one hundred per Oh, you
could have roped all the rocks you see if you
had just said, you know, it's like the the weighted
clothing came off like from DVZ.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
I'd got that, you know that was.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
That was more my cham Oh you know what that?
That is like the equivalent in it. Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
so that's what it felt like. As soon as the
full pretension that mic just came right back, I'm like,
oh yeah, now we're cooking.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
I do need to watch an autoto at some point,
I I think I never did because it was one
of those things that got super popular among like the
the grade of children right behind me, and I'm like, oh,
that's for that's for children. It's it's so popular. It
can't be good. That's that's gotta be block right, No

(17:48):
I I I was such an elitist. I should give
it anough, I should give it a go. At some point,
I think I've heard enough good things. At this point
I should good.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
I don't know about I try watching Balato. I couldn't
get into it. But uh, and then I found out
that there was like a different, complete, different artist that
draws Boruto. So I'm like that explains a lot. In
any case, let's move on all this quick. Seguay, thank
you again for everyone who contributed to my fixing this

(18:20):
mic journey. I appreciate all of you. Uh, just like
how I appreciate this game. The maker of Ghosts of Dashima,
I've been watching a lot of LTT from the maker
of Ghost of Dushima Second Punch. It just gave us
the release date for their upcoming action adventure game, Ghost

(18:41):
of Yote. Let's watch the trailer real quick and remind
ourselves what this game is about.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
And let's remind ourselves what it means to hype responsibly.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Oh it looks so good, so good. I don't know
if you've seen this recent trailer, but man.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Hang on, hang up. For some reason, it's not should
you want me to do it? Oh, it's on my side?
Hang on? Maybe I need to refresh my the most
professional stream on all of it's not playing for me.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
That's weird.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Yeah, my watch together stream is not working right.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
M okay, well, why don't you take a second to
look at it and then I'll just like reason chat
or something. Yeah, all right, Yeah, so I hear you
guys talking about Eldest Girls, Oblivion and remaster. We Derek
and I didn't want to bring it up, but then
I would to talk about it. I just don't have
anything to say about it. I haven't played it yet,

(19:39):
about it at all, so there's nothing for me to say.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
But I love Oblivion. I played the heck out of
it back in the day.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
Like I have no contribution to this.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Yeah, I played it so many times. Okay, all right,
I think I've got it now, so let's check it out.
But yeah, I really want to play Oblivion again.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
I'm kind of hoping that this turns more into like.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
A spirit seeking spirit.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
I don't want to say I'm reluctant to say first party,
but like first party adjacent, like please Sony do something
with this, Like you have like nothing, Sony? Okay, yeah,
and they need you have something.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
They Sony has been sitting on a lot of ips,
Like that's kind of what they do. Like they make
like a banger and then lock it away forever into
the Disney vault or or whatever their equivalent is.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
And then they spend one hundred million plus on like
a shooter that never made like they applying, Oh I
actually did for like two weeks.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
The army.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
Man.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
That's beautiful, the Spider, the Dragon. What are we going
to do with this? One said too. I'm sorry it

(21:20):
came to this lit you didn't look that. Sorry. This
is a good trailer. I feel like I was just

(21:41):
like slipping into just the watching it, and then I'm like, oh, yeah,
I'm on a podcast. I should probably like talk about it, dude.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
It's captivating. It never takes place modern day Hokkaido. Wait,
modern day modern day Hokkaido, which is the most northern
prefecture and so very very cold. I think Alaska thinks

(22:14):
like Japan's Alaska. I'm familiarsis yeah, but I mean I
guess a lot of our viewers may not be.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
Oh no, sorry that was sort of viewers. I know,
you know, Okay, you know again, I keep forgetting them
on a podcast.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
It's like, sir, there are other people here. Yeah, ghost
of your Day, it's really good. Oh man, So if
any if Ghosts of a Steama has anything to go
off of, like I think this is going to be a.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
Critical success, so they can like switch back and forth
between times.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Is that what I'm don't getting or think? So okay,
I don't think so, Although that's your guess is as
good as mine. We'll have to see what happens when
we actually played. It might just be like flashbacks, right,
it could be yeah, yeah, you can see it from
like her younger perspective. Anyways.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
This game will be released on October second this year
on PS five only. The pre order including the limited Edition,
is now available on the Sony Store at the Sony Store.
It's it's like really expensive, so I don't want to
I don't even want to tell you how much of
this is really expensive, but it is there if you're

(23:37):
a fan, so please check it out. I will be
pre ordering this myself soon. I think if you just
want the regular physical version, you can probably pre order
it from Like you know.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
I'm guessing if anything to go by, you'll be able
to find a.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Physical copy of Local Yeah on on regular, it's just
the limited edition that's on the Sony. Now. I do
have just an announcement about this game for anyone who
is interested. I did mention, I think on the podcast.
I don't know if I said it on the podcast,
so I said it in my own Twitch channel. But

(24:17):
because of these like insane backlash on this game, how
dareeday feature a female protagonist? No?

Speaker 2 (24:29):
Yeah, yeah, this is woke a woman samurai? How dare you?

Speaker 1 (24:37):
Okay? Yeah, So what I had said at the time was, uh,
you know, whenever this game comes out, I'm gonna give
a copy out to one of my viewers to basically
do the complete opposite of trying to shut this game out.

(24:58):
I'm going to let more people play this game and
just kind of do my part. So I have an announcement.
I'm going to make good on that promise, and because
I stream of two places, I'm gonna give one to each,
so I'll think about how to do you like a
quick giveaway only for continental US for shipping purpose, but

(25:20):
if you are a international viewer and you have a
PlayStation five, feel free to enter this and I'll send
your digital code. But that's like the only thing, the
only way I can send it to you. I'll try
to see if there is a way to do that. Actually,
don't quote me on it yet because I don't know
if there's a real way to send you a digital
code because Steam made it easy, but I don't know

(25:42):
if Stony is the same, so I'll look into that.
But definitely for the Continental US if you live in
one of the states, I'm happy to send you physical
copy on this channel here on hit Point as well
as my twitch channel over on twitch. So please come

(26:02):
by to hang out. We'll give you you guys more details.
You know, it's the time draw causes it's a good
amount of time between now and October. So yeah, but
just want to let you guys know that I will
be sending out a free copy of this game to
one lucky winner.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
Yeah, we'll figure out the details of hell, that'll work.
Figure out the details and we'll talk about it as
as the date gets a little closer. Also, Sony of
you listening, you want to sponsor this giveaway, that'd be
pretty sweet. Otherwise it's out of my pocket, which is
fine anyways. Not the limited edition? No sorry? Oh yeah, yeah,

(26:38):
I'm not. I'm not.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
I'm not even getting the limited edition myself, So please
AnyWho on our next one. This next one is crazy
because I no one saw this one coming.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
Shoot, there were no rumors, nothing, But I know a
certain fluffy dog that's going to be very excited by
this news. Haven't already heard about it? Coming out of
left field? Capcom and Good Old Games have just shadow
dropped Breath of Fire four. Let's check this out. Oh

(27:15):
my god?

Speaker 1 (27:16):
Yeah, okay, I got so many pangs on my discord
and on Twitter, everyone's just like it's just tagging men
post related to it, and I'm like, what is going
on with Breath of Fire? Like what I didn't understand?

Speaker 2 (27:36):
I know? And I woke up.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
I was just like what I have like ten like
pings on Breath of Fire and I'm like, okay, I'll
look into it. So for those of you who aren't aware,
Breath of Fire four is the last Breath of Fire
that was ever made. True story, just repeal the fact,
despite the fact.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
That that there may have been other games with other
numbers released following that, this is the last real Breath
of Fire title.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
Yeah, Breath of five five is not a thing.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
Everything well in neither was Breath of Fire six.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
I mean, Dragon Quarter was a good game, don't get
me wrong. It just was not in my opinion, and
everybody has everybody has an opinion, and in my opinion,
it wasn't a very good representation of what a good
Breath of Fire game was. So this has like some
you can't even see it because they're just showing off
like the intro scene here, but it has some of

(28:33):
the best pixel art that you've ever seen in a
PlayStation rpg.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
It has just this gorgeous like world that you can
like rotate around using the triggerers, the or bumper buttons
I think to switch the view and rotate the whole
isometric map around you. Ah man, it is such a
beautiful game. Now. I have seen that there's some sort

(29:02):
of like default filter applied when you play the game,
but there is a way to disable it, which gives
you an even like higher resolution like representation of the
world without all of the dithering that sometimes occurs. And
I'm not a I don't hate dithering personally speaking, but
apparently there are some like tweaks that you can do

(29:23):
to the game to get it looking just as good
or potentially, depending on your opinion, better than the original
PlayStation release, which has we absolutely psyched. I know, I'm
very very excited, and yeah, you can. You can go
play that. I think it's it's available right now on

(29:44):
good old games, only good old games, good games. How
much is it on good old games anyway? I should
probably look that up.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
Ten bucks? Ten bucks, not even ten bucks short? Oh
my god, us, oh my goodness.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
In a in a in an age where where RPGs,
brand new RPGs cost, they're going.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
To cost like eighty dollars ten bucks just a lunch,
a less less than a lunch somewhere I've paid more
for coffee. Coffee?

Speaker 2 (30:22):
Are you drinky? I mean, not like not on the regular,
but I mean, like I'm pretty sure at some point,
like just maybe while I'm out and about in New
York City or something, I stop into a shop and
they're like, here's some Exorbert City highway price.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
Yeah, it's it's highway robbery.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
So you know what's crazy. Since we're on topic, you
know what's crazy is that, first of all, this really
is just available on goog because a lot of times
it will be like, oh, you say Geog's really geog
in stem. No, it's not available on Steam. And you
know what's really crazy is that if you search Breath
of Fire for on Steam, because I was just looking

(31:01):
at earlier, you will not find a game, but you
will find the soundtrack to the game from Capcom. I know,
and you know how much a soundtrack cost. Full game
is nine to ninety nine on gog and it's a
good soundtrack alone. It's a good soundtrack, it is, But

(31:24):
you're two dollars short at the full game, like you know,
the actual experience playing the thing is two more dollars
on that, And that's wild to me.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
That said that is that is less dollars than it
would take to buy most albums on like iTunes.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
That's fair, that's fair.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
And I spent a lot more than that on the
Breath of Fire for vinyl that I have my collection.
That's how good the soundtrack is.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Anyways, yeah, you pay a premium that that is well, git, sir,
it is in fact a premium good it is.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
Yeah, But I I thought that was crazy. I'm like, wow,
really the full game is only two more dollars and
a soundtrack on GG. That's that's crazy. Yeah, I you know,
I I wonder if this is the beginning too. More like,
I don't know if Capcom's is like, yeah, sure, GG,
just release it just you and you alone. It's exclusive

(32:29):
on GG. I don't know how they can't do that.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Well, I think so here's a I think here's part
of it is a breath of fire for I think
actually had back in the day a PC version. Yeah,
kind of like how Sweekoden actually had a PC native
version as well, which is weird, right, Yeah, it's like

(32:54):
it had if you find like gameplay of it. I
know a buddy of mine back in the day, Jimmy
Hoppa was the name of his channel. He had a
show called Import Gaming ftwuh and he he's a huge
Sweet Coden fan, and he put together a video showcasing
the weird releases of Sweet Coulden and one of those

(33:16):
was the like Windows ninety five version of this game,
and like it played in a window of sweet coulden.
It played in this window pure like with the blue
bar over the top, just really ancient looking, and it
had like extra windows off to the side that would
also launch alongside the main gameplay screen, where like other
stats and stuff might show up, and it's just the weirdest,

(33:39):
weirdest choice. Yeah. So anyways, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
Has come a long way on pouring games to PC,
I mean, and a lot of that long way, though,
has happened in the last five years. It feels like,
you know, that's just fair and they s haven't got
it quite down, but you know they're they're getting I mean,
who needs who really needs anything more than sixty frames? Anyway,

(34:10):
all the different ways to configure it, configure the game
makes it that much harder, I'm sure. Yeah. Yeah, so
I'm excited to see what else Capcom do. And Capcom
is winning like left and right. I I don't remember
the last time that they did any like major fumble,
to be honest.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
Here's well, you know what was the last time they
really messed up? Oh?

Speaker 1 (34:35):
I mean maybe Dragon Dogma two, Like that wasn't quite
the hit that they thought it would be.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
But that's not even like a fumble. Yeah, that's just
that's just you know, roll of the dice.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
Really yeah, but that was just like the biggest thing
in recent memory. I mean, right, but.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
When I think of a foible or a fumble, I'm
thinking of something more like you know, bad p R. Right, yes, last,
what's the last time Capcom actually squandered PR? And I'm thinking, like,
the thing that comes to my mind was there was
going to be at one point some kind of mega

(35:14):
man RPG thing that got canceled. But it's been so long,
I can't remember, and I'm like, how can I how
can I hold that against them at this point?

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Like yeah, I feel like that was like the last
I can't even remember it, like.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
Yeah, or the details of it. I mean, Breath of
Fire six might might be one of those moments, but
that was what two thousand and six.

Speaker 3 (35:36):
Like, I can't I can't hold that twenty years ago,
Like it's as old as oblivion, so pretty long, it's
as old as the the Xbox three sixties, so uh,
maybe we should Yeah, let it go.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
Winning pretty hard, and I would love for them to
do more Breath of Fire if this is sort of
like the first step to.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
It a oh yeah, you know, I feel like every
fan of Breath the Fire owes it to themselves to
like buy the game just so they can just so
they can like tell their grandchildren. Oh yes, I remember
back in the day they really read the Fire for
and I paid money for it, but out out of
my own nam bocket, And that is what led to

(36:19):
them reviving the franchise. You're welcome.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
We we missed the we missed Derek voice acting. Ever
since he stopped streaming, we're not getting that that good
old Derek voice acting anymore. And that's a shame. That's
a crime against humanity. Uh. But speaking of series that
dates back a long time ago, let's talk about this
next one called Oh Yeah, madl Monogatari, which is a

(36:45):
long running series that most people in the West hasn't
really heard of. But this this series actually goes way
back in Japan.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
They are bringing this new entry called got Fea and
a Wondrous Academy to the West, and they've just given
us a release day. So let's take a quick look
at this trailer just to kind of refresh our memory
of what this thing is about.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
All right, And for those of you who don't know,
motto is in fact short for tomato.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
That is factually correct. It's a it's.

Speaker 2 (37:27):
Literally just a short for my tomato story.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
You know, some people won't believe you.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
I should probably walk that back. People won't believe.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
Street Fighter versus versus marvel Ooh, street Fighter versus Marvelinity.
I don't know what happened.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
I is it like a net like a net net.

Speaker 1 (38:03):
Code issue, Like usually when it comes to fighting games
in Debaco is like always some kind of net coding
or like some kind of matching thing.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
So what exactly is Maro manat? Because I don't get
a feeling I'm gonna see much gameplay here?

Speaker 1 (38:21):
Oh yeah, unfortunately, So I tried looking for uh one
with gameplay, but they haven't released one us right now.
Maybe maybe close it to the release date they'll have one.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
So is this kind of like a first person dungeon crawler.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
State dungeon crawler? Yeah, there's a long series of dungeon
crawling game.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
Like Mystery Dungeon style or like first person dungeon crawler.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
Or Mystery Dungeon style. Oh so top down? Yeah, top down,
not first person. Cool. Yeah, it's so people who like
dungeon crawler like this is one to watch for them.
And it's like a long running series too. PuO actually
comes from this series.

Speaker 2 (38:58):
Oh that's right, we talk about this not that long
ago we did, Yes, we did.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
Uh And and Puyo Puyo is like more well known,
which is kind of funny to me because like it's
like a really fun like puzzle game like the Scar
Guys Tetrist kind of guys.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
He's talking about Doctor Robotnik's mean bean machine. Okay, that's
that's how that is actually literally how we got Puyo
Puyo here in the.

Speaker 1 (39:23):
United States, Like, yeah, is that what happened? Yeah, yeah,
it got a Yeah, it's it's bad. It's the same
game and it has the same like kind of characters,
but it also happens to have some sonic stuff overlay.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Bizarre. It's really weird.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
Uh yeah yeah. But anyhow, if you are a fan
of these top down dungeon crawler games, which I'm not
like personally a huge fan of, but I know it's
popular enough for this game to be running for late
twenty years, it's got to be fans out there. This
game will be coming out on July twenty ninth on
PS four five and Switch. The limited edition is available

(40:05):
at the Idea Factory International store, so if you are
interested there they are.

Speaker 2 (40:12):
Oh yeah, also it's a Yoshi Cookie Yo Yoshi's Cookie
or something. I can't remember the name of the game anymore,
but yeah, we'll put CJ all right, Moving along, foo,
do you just announced that they will be making a
new School Life RPG and corroboration collaboration corroboration collaboration either

(40:36):
with Aqueria So the developers behind the Caligular Effect and
writer Rio taro Ito who worked on SMT, Devil Summoner
and Monarch. The games set in Kose Academy and the
is going to be the first school to compliment a

(40:58):
cross reality network. What compliment? School?

Speaker 1 (41:04):
Must have misspelled something.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
Anyways, they are the first ones to use a cross.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
Reality call this network? Yes, Johari, Uh?

Speaker 2 (41:14):
What could possibly go wrong when you cross the streams of.

Speaker 1 (41:18):
Reality reality networks? Sounds like you know, this sounds like
how you get demons in your computer. Yeah, and let's
give it all to a bunch of teenagers too.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
Do you think it's less? I mean, you think it's
hard enough to get rid of malware when it's from
this universe. Right, So in this game, you'll be playing
as a protagonist who is a member of these student
support services who discovers that students are disappearing to glitches
and a system filled with monsters.

Speaker 1 (41:48):
The background to this.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
Now, the real question is, the real question is uh
is it? Is it ransomware? Are they? Are they being
held for ransom?

Speaker 1 (41:58):
I feel like you're going to make money out of
these glitches? Are we going to need to opposite somewhere?

Speaker 2 (42:06):
Are we? Are we going to have to you know,
buy bitcoin and send it to the monsters to make
them disappear.

Speaker 1 (42:16):
Or do you fight the monster and make bitcoins?

Speaker 2 (42:18):
Ooh yes, time to flinge some tokens.

Speaker 1 (42:28):
That's right, guys. This is the not Persona that you've
been waiting for. Varlet okay, not Sona, not Sona. This
is the third not Sona game. So obviously the calicular
effect is well, okay, so Monarch came first. Monarch is
the first not Sona game, and then the calicular effect

(42:51):
this like the second not Sona game. This is now
the third like well, not son A game, but that
wild one that's gotta be like the best friend character.
Gotta be. You gotta be you have to have a
best friend character.

Speaker 2 (43:08):
What I know?

Speaker 1 (43:08):
Whoever this dude is.

Speaker 2 (43:10):
It's it's it's looking pretty good. It's looking kind of
kind of persona.

Speaker 1 (43:16):
It's fairy persona. E also very food you. Yeah, the
voice acting is quite good from what I'm hearing so far.

Speaker 2 (43:28):
I mean it sounds very Japanese from what I'm hearing.

Speaker 1 (43:32):
I would like the battle animation to be a little
bit more snappy. I don't know if this is gonna
be like it, but like it felt like this like
weird slow down thing that just like it's a little
joring for me.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
Yeah, I think I kind of see what you're talking about.
How there's like just a little too much. Like they
could tighten that up a loss.

Speaker 1 (43:51):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I feel like they can make this
just a little tighter. It would feel a lot better
because you have to stare at these kind of battle
animation like.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
For oh oh, oh, hi, oh, what is going on? Oh? Spoiler? Spoiler?
Is it a spoiler? No?

Speaker 1 (44:07):
No, well I'm sure I'm sure is a spoilers no
sense to us without context?

Speaker 2 (44:13):
So she's just been fired?

Speaker 1 (44:16):
Oh no, one of the main characters in there, that's
probably probably just a bad end or something.

Speaker 2 (44:22):
Who knows. I don't know if that's a spoiler.

Speaker 1 (44:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (44:25):
Anyways, so this game is going to be coming out
on the well as if we needed more games to
come out, just at the tail end of August August
twenty five, coming to PlayStation five the Nintendo Switch one,
switch and switch in case the esteem In case anyone's wondering. Yes,
this also means that some of the Persona veterans are

(44:49):
working on this game because they've also worked on Calliguda Effect,
and they have writers on staff who have worked on SMT.
So this is sort of like a as much of
a Persona adjacent as you're going to get. Yeah, I wouldn't.
I wouldn't call it like a Persona clone because it's
got those original devs on board who just have left

(45:12):
over time because they like these We're talking about people
who worked on like up to up through Persona two, which,
in my opinion, Persona to Eternal Punishment.

Speaker 1 (45:21):
Border even further than two.

Speaker 2 (45:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (45:23):
Really so, so the people who worked on Monarch worked
on P one P two. Yeah, And that's what I
think calcular, The fact that people who worked on P
three and potentially P four. Okay, so there are there's
like a good amount of veterans on on this, on
this in this company and on this team working who
worked on previous personas. So sweet. Yeah, it's one of

(45:46):
those things I do want to throw out there. It's
not like, oh, we're very inspired by this games like no, no, no,
they worked on those Persona games and they are working
on this now out of Atlas. That's very cool. Yeah, alright,
that's pretty cool. We'll see, we'll see if it turns
out good. I don't know like anybody's guests.

Speaker 2 (46:05):
So that about does it for our game announcements. I think. Yeah,
Varlet was the last one. So now it's time to
move on to some discussions about industry.

Speaker 1 (46:16):
Industry, that's right. So I do have this like quick
thing that'll hang on one second.

Speaker 2 (46:24):
Oh did I close it?

Speaker 1 (46:26):
Oh? Oh shoot, I messed up? Sorry, give me one second,
tiny tiny technical difficulty? Oh yeah, sure there can you
I can stall sure. So about that Oblivion guys, I
was I know I talked about the Oblivion remaster rumors
of it leading up to its release, but holy cow man,

(46:49):
I'm so torn about like do I want to play
Oblivion for the seventeenth time, because like, for me, it's
Oblivion is like the chronal trigger of westernpgs, right, It's
like it's super good. Uh, But also it's the one
that I just like had to replay over and over
and over. So I'm like torn, do I want to
replay this yet again or Expedition thirty three or neither

(47:15):
and and play nothing out of indecision overload.

Speaker 2 (47:21):
Doing nothing is a valid repon choosing not to decide,
you still have made a choice. So the reality, though,
is I did talk to Baku a little bit about this.
I actually did get an advanced copy code for Expedition

(47:42):
thirty three, but when I tried to play it on
my PS five, for whatever reason, I got no voice
acting audio out of it, and I was going to
play it and make a first impressions video. It's way
too late to make a video at this point because
it's not going to get any views, but but I
do want to. I just I missed the boat, but

(48:03):
because of that weird glitch with the audio, I'm like,
if I make a video and like complain about how
the voice acting doesn't work for me, like, no one's
it's gonna be completely invalid video. Like I have to
like be able to gauge the game on its own merits,
especially if it was something that was going to be patched,
like on a day one thing or something. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (48:23):
Anyways, I think eventually, whenever Expedition thirty three wins a
game of the year, that might be a good time
it will be relevant again. So you mess, Well, I.

Speaker 2 (48:33):
Mean, it's still relevant. But here's the thing. I did
notice all my all my RPG friends on the YouTube
put out an Expedition thirty three video and like it's
just so much coverage that like none of them got
very much traction. And I think it's because of just
saturation at this point. So true, yeah, yeah, yeah, so

(48:56):
I mean, And also I feel like it's because a
lot of people really want to play them. And if
you really want to play a game, are you really
gonna like, like a lot of people are sold they're
going to play by and play the game. If you
are already sold on it, do you need a review
to tell you to go buy it?

Speaker 1 (49:13):
Like?

Speaker 2 (49:13):
Probably not, and and just risk spoilers, And some people
are less careful about that than others.

Speaker 1 (49:18):
So you know that's true. Well, you know what wouldn't
risk any spoilers talk about next, which is I'm now ready. Yes,
I wanted to what I was working on. I wanted
to show. I gave you the out a link for

(49:38):
the video, right because I was gonna use the browser.

Speaker 2 (49:42):
To show you did But did you close that browser
because you might need to send me a new.

Speaker 1 (49:45):
Len No, I reopened, I reak different. Yeah, so it's
the same link.

Speaker 2 (49:50):
Okay, so time for me to share your screen. Then, yes,
you've hidden all of your your wife whu wallpaper and everything.

Speaker 1 (49:58):
Oh no, it's it's just a window. It's fine.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
Oh okay, okay, yeah, all right, hang on, it's not.
Oh my goodness, we go Oh my god, what do
you show it? That look great? Could you a little
bit there?

Speaker 1 (50:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (50:10):
Like up to there? There you go.

Speaker 1 (50:12):
Oh man, So let's talk a little bit about this
for any fans of near out there, and I'm sure
there's at least a couple uh square enixt opened a
new website for the near fifteenth anniversary celebration, and you know,
for a while, there hasn't really been anything going on,
so we didn't really talk about it, even though it

(50:35):
opened like a little while ago. But more recently they
just completed UH something called the special novel Undecided Option,
and it's a sixth part UH novel series that gives
more lore to this very already very complex lore to

(50:55):
Near UH. And as you can see, they finally finished.
So every time they have updated three times. Each time
they gave two chapters, and now as of the sixth chapter,
this is complete. Through these chapters, you can get like
additional insights and you know, little tippets on the the

(51:16):
story of Near Near Tamada, Near Incarnation, and Near Replican
and each of these chapters are going to be just
a little different. But you know, if you're a NEAR fan,
you can pretty much already expect that they have this
very interesting writing style that's not very like direct, let's
just say, and you can have to like play a
little guests and game as to like, you know what

(51:38):
this is all about. So I won't sport for you.
I haven't read most of it myself, so I don't
I wouldn't get into it. But if you are interested,
you can head on over to their website. It is
Japanese only, and clicking one of these and you show
you it is Japanese only. However, what you can do
is just cover a copy all this, throw onto chat

(52:00):
GPT and chatchipt will do a pretty good job at
translating this. You're gonna have to use a little bit
of thinking as to what is really trying to tell you.
But if you are a fan and you just need
that extra more sort of story from near before they
come off a new game, which may or may not

(52:21):
ever happen, this is probably the next best thing. So
just letting you all know if you are interested in this.
That's it for this piece of industry news. We've got
a lot more things to talk about, starting with this
next one, which is everyone's favorite topic, including my own,

(52:44):
and that's tariffs. Bay. We're coming back to talk about
terrors because, okay, because there's not enough thirty something year
old dudes on the internet with podcasts talking about tariffs
right now, exactly, That's exactly it. Okay, So part of
it was inspired by.

Speaker 2 (53:05):
A dollar for every dude on a podcast talking about tariffs.
I could afford to pay for these tariffs.

Speaker 1 (53:12):
And I would perfectly understand if you guys are just
sick of hearing the tariff thing. But you know what,
we still have to talk about it. And the reason
we have to talk about it is because we are
a GRPG podcast and we talk about different things that
affects us. So let's talk about tariff in the context
of what we like, which is our games, the products

(53:36):
thereof a couple of shows ago we talked about tariffs.

Speaker 2 (53:42):
Was the switch to sure that we I think it
was when we yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (53:47):
We talked a little bit about it. We we gave
a summary of what tariff is, what it does, what
it doesn't do. We have a I assume that everyone
has like at least a slight idea of what tariff
is about anyway, but just in case you still don't
know what it does. It's a tax on exporters, basically, and.

Speaker 2 (54:09):
That gets passed on to consumers.

Speaker 1 (54:11):
Yeah, and it gets passed on to consumers. But let
me let me I'll break it down a little bit
of how that actually works is, you know, the United
States will tax people who are trying to export things
from a certain origin of productions and in this case China,
and anyone who tries to export these things to America

(54:32):
or anyone who tries to import these things into America
will have to pay these tax called tariffs. Uh. And
there's something like more than two hundred percent at this point.
Uh and for certain regions at least. Yeah. And imagine
if you are like a company who is doing business
and your entire thing is importing things from China and

(54:54):
selling them. Uh, you know you're gonna have to pass
that cost on because the margin on selling things is
maybe like ten fifteen percent. That's all you're lifting off
of is ten fifteen percent. There's no way you can
pay two hundred percent. Never mind not making money, This
is no way you can. You can you can survive.

(55:14):
So what are they going to do. They're going to
pass that tariff off to you and say, well, okay,
I can't pay this. I can pay like five percent
off of our margin.

Speaker 2 (55:22):
That's it.

Speaker 1 (55:24):
The rest of the one hundred and ninety five percent
that's on you if you want to buy it by
if you don't want to buy it, then then fine,
Like there's nothing we can do about it. So that's
kind of what's happening right now. And the reason why
we're talking about it now is because we were talking
about more about in terms of what do we think
will happen at the time of the show. Now we're

(55:47):
going to talk about what is happening because companies are
starting to finally react now that their tariffs is in place,
now that things are not looking like it's gonna flip back. Uh.
Here are two general scenarios from a lot of importer
exporters vendors that I see that sells like figures, which

(56:12):
are things that you may care about, because hey, if
you are, let's say you are a Trails fan, how
many Trails fan do we have in the show right now?
I would I would surmised that at least a third
of you Trails fans. Okay, And as we've talked about,
Koto is making figures for Trails, all kinds of figures

(56:34):
from Estelle all the way to you know, all the
newest characters that I don't know anything about, Elaine, what
have you. Yep, Well, guess where those figures are made China.
So expect those to come with like a two hundred
percent tariff. And if you didn't think it will affect you,

(56:57):
it will affect you, right because you're like, well, I
don't buy safe, jan, I don't buy something tu and
neither do I. But guess what you do buy other
things electronics. We're not even going to talk about electronics, yeah,
but we will.

Speaker 2 (57:11):
So one of the things I used to really enjoy
buying some stuff from Japan, like like Japanese mini disc players,
because I'm just a hipster like that. I think that
they're neat and I like them and I want to
buy them. But now, in addition to the tariffs, they've
also gotten rid of the deminimus claus. Oh so, like

(57:33):
if even if I just want to like buy something
from Japan, like as a like just for myself, it
used to be like if you if it was something
under like a few hundred or thousand dollars, like you
wouldn't have to worry about paying a tariff. Now it's
like everything gets tariffed, which is gonna be a real

(57:54):
pain in the butt for a lot of things that
I liked to buy before. Yeah it's a boy.

Speaker 1 (58:02):
Yeah, so well it's not that there's normal wife with figurines,
but prepare to pay three hundred percent of what you
would have paid.

Speaker 2 (58:11):
So if oh my.

Speaker 1 (58:11):
Gosh, two hundred dollars is now six hundred dollars, not
including shipping.

Speaker 2 (58:16):
How much would it be to buy that fourteen thousand
dollars figure from uh square innox.

Speaker 1 (58:22):
Well, you know, funny enough, that might actually not be
included in tariff because it's not made in China.

Speaker 2 (58:28):
Oh, it was made in Japan, but Japan still has
a tariff.

Speaker 1 (58:33):
They may still increase the price because the raw material
use with swum China. And I don't know to what
extent they're going to get hit with the tariff, but
I don't think that particular case is going to get hit. Yes,
that partic okay, but also it's a fourteen thousand dollars statues,

(58:54):
so okay, you know, take that as you will.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
But I'm pretty sure Japan was getting hit by something
like a forty six percent tariff lest I heard, So.

Speaker 1 (59:04):
You know, they keep flopping on those. So it's just
really hard.

Speaker 2 (59:09):
You're right, it's hard to keep up. It's hard to
keep up.

Speaker 1 (59:11):
And I'll touch on that part of the problem too,
which is a problem that we uh in economists will
call uncertainty because it's rightfully so. But we'll talk about that.

Speaker 2 (59:25):
Oh yeah, I think I should also bear this bears
mentioning that, in addition to being well almost a doctor
in WIFU studies, Baku also has an actual degree in economics,
so that's true.

Speaker 1 (59:38):
It's almost like I'm selling that.

Speaker 2 (59:40):
Not like I mean, well, here's the thing. It's it's
not like we're trying to appeal to any sort of authority,
but rather just we're not just a couple of well
I mean I am, I am one of the peanut
gallery weighing out.

Speaker 1 (59:53):
On this super smart you'll have no idea.

Speaker 2 (59:56):
But but Maku actually is credentialed, So you know, I
feel like that's worth talking about.

Speaker 1 (01:00:02):
You know, I hate that the degree is finally worth
something now that I now that there's there. Yeah, it
hasn't helped me do anything, but now I'm suddenly somewhat
authoritative in this topic that I wish I didn't have
to be. Yeah, so I I will say that. You know,

(01:00:22):
as far as like these products are concerned, there are
two general responds that you're going to see, neither of
which are great, okay, And the first is halting shipment,
as in, we're not going out of business yet m hm,
but we can't send you anything because of all these

(01:00:43):
insanities that's happening. And the example of the out use
is something called a good smile if you guys remember
all these like uh oh yeah, Papa Peae like figures. Yeah,
you know, very affordable small figures. They're like maybe forty dollars,
like a lot of good like nime and game characters.

(01:01:05):
Here's some good Smile US m. We would like to
inform you of important changes to pre orders on our site.
Do to wrap it ongoing shifts and international trade policy
and the resulting uncertainties that were insultant uncertainty around US terrors,
We have made a very difficult decision to temporarily pause
all pre orders on good Smile us dot com. In addition,

(01:01:29):
we will be delaying shipments of products entering the United
States and to further notice, decision was not made lightly.
The unpredictable nature of the current tariff environment has created
significant challenges in both costs and logistics, and we want
to ensure that we continue providing the level of service

(01:01:51):
and transparency you expect from us. You may have noticed
recent price adjustments on our site. These reflect the current
TERFF conditions. However, should the situation improve before your item
is readyship will adjust the order to reflect low price. Accordingly,
we truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this unpredictable

(01:02:12):
time and unpredictable it is for businesses. And I tell
you can I can. I dovetail into this topic real
quick with go something that we recently talked about. So
as a lot of you know, BUCKU and I have
actually been talking to a lot of indie developers lately.
And I'm not going to mention any specific names, but

(01:02:33):
I mean, we do like to talk outside of the
show a little bit, and a lot of people get
really excited to tell us kind of the things that
they're working on, because like, who else can they really
tell I mean, because they can't announce things to the
public yet because they're still in work in progress. But
I will say that this tariff situation has severely been impacting, uh,

(01:02:54):
not only like decisions about whether or not to make
physical games of available. It's that uncertainty that that prevents
them from even attempting at this point, some of them
from even making that a stretch goal because like if
they take you know, a sixty dollars pre order pre order,

(01:03:15):
but a sixty dollars backer and they say, okay, that'll
get you a physical copy of the game, But then
but then it costs them ninety dollars to make it
or something or or after importing and everything. Like it's
that uncertainty that they don't even know what the what

(01:03:35):
the goal has to be in order to make that
a like kickstarter stretch goal. And and alternatively to that
the kickstarters that have already occurred and promised physical media.
I mean, dude, that's that's wild.

Speaker 2 (01:03:53):
I mean, let's let's think of the First Press Games situation.
You know, because by the way I found I found
the charge. I found that I paid something like a
hundred bucks for for uh chained echoes. Yeah, I I
found the charge when I was when I was reconciling

(01:04:13):
my taxes and stuff last year. Uh and and I
found that that I still don't have my copy of
the game yet, and I don't think a lot of
people do. And and that's gonna be I I can't
even imagine right now what that means for the people
who like spent X amount of money on this thing.

(01:04:37):
And now First Press Games, if they do deliver, are
gonna have like that's the thing. If they do deliver,
they'll have to pay an additional three hundred percent What
was this for?

Speaker 1 (01:04:52):
Because I'm pretty sure a lot of that's happening in China, right,
God dang potentially going up because it's like, well that's
just another one hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (01:05:04):
Yeah, yeah, nood there it's it's that it's a fight
between the guy from the breakfast club and the principal.

Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
I can't remember their names.

Speaker 2 (01:05:13):
You know. That's another day. That's another day of of
uh you know, suspension or whatever. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:05:20):
No, once you go above two hundred percent, Like, what
difference does it make to an average consumer between two
hundred percent and one thousand percent?

Speaker 2 (01:05:27):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:05:28):
None, there's no meaningful difference anymore if you're just going
to not buy a thing because of the terror. So
there is like at that point, who cares, Like it's
meant now five thousand percent, Okay, it makes no difference.

Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
Yeah, I mean at a certain you're not gonna buy it. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:05:46):
Yeah, it's uh. That's one response from these vendors. Here's
another response from Here's another response, and that is to
tag on the price of duties, which I can quote
from gee Jack. Gee Jack is a company that imports

(01:06:09):
different goods from Japan and oh sorry, sell different goods
of like small Japan, like Indie creators, uh, and and
try to like ship it out to the rest of
the world.

Speaker 2 (01:06:22):
So a lot of.

Speaker 1 (01:06:22):
These like indie like you know, creators depend on services
like gee Jack to get their merchandise out to the
rest of the war because they're just small nobody, they
can't really like get the stuff out themselves. Uh, here's
what ge jack has to say. But gee Jack customers
residing in the US, as you may be aware of
the recent news, worldwide shipments to the US containing products

(01:06:45):
made in China is now subject to high tiff rates
of over actually with the amount of duties collected exceeding
the price of the product. Given the situation, please be
aware that even if your purchase was initially tax exam
under the tariff rules in place at the time of

(01:07:07):
your order, or if you paid a partial customs duty,
you may be required to pay the difference between that
amount and the current tariff rate upon receipt of your package. However,
these terr regulations are subject to rapid changes and the
rate could return to a lower level in the future. Therefore,

(01:07:28):
prioritizing our customers convenience, ski Jack has decided to temporary
suspense shipments through the US, which is what we talked
about before. For orders including products originally from China. For
customers who wish to wait for potential changes in tariff
rules to avoid their risk of additional charges, as much

(01:07:48):
as possible, we will hold your relevant orders. Please be
assured that there will be no storage fees or other
charges incurred a good guy gee Jack, Oh, explain what
that means in a second. For customers who understand and
accept any applicable tariffs under the current regulations and wish
for prompt shipment, please contact our customer service your order number.

(01:08:12):
Will ship the order as soon as possible, starting on
the orders that are available for shipment positive zing infinians,
and we may cause and appreciate your understanding cooperations. So basically,
a good guy get Jack is basically saying, look, you
can pre order this stuff and we'll just like hold
it for you until tariff's like is not crazy, or
if you don't mind paying the tariff, we'll tag it

(01:08:33):
on and we'll send it to your ASP.

Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
That's the wild thing right now, because uh, warehouses are
not free storage that kind of thing. Yeah, it's.

Speaker 1 (01:08:50):
Anyways, So now that we've talked about some of these things,
let's talk about what that means to us and any
other future implications, because Derek had already mentioned about physical
copies and any kind of backer items, any limited edition,

(01:09:10):
anything that you like. I mean, look, we joke about
limit edition, limited edition stuff, but realistically, let's be honest,
some of you guys, for that game that you really like,
like that one game that you really like, you wouldn't
mind spending additional money for memorabilia that comes with the
limited edition. Like, That's why they exist because people buy them.

(01:09:35):
If no one buys them, it wouldn't exist. It does exist.
People do buy them, and your body get hit by
that because guess where most of those things debated, China.
So at least in the short run, and you know what,
even in the long run, my expectation is that you're

(01:09:57):
just gonna either suck it up and pay for it,
or so is not going to be available to you
one of one of the two choices. There is no
third option in this case. It's either it's not available
or you're gonna have to pay a lot more for
you Oh well, actually no that there's a third option,
which is if you can find someone like gee Jack
who you hold it for you until the tariff thing

(01:10:17):
is over. Then sure you can still pay that part.
You're just not going to get it like as soon
as it is ready, you know. But it's kind of
like a risky endeavor because if gee Jack ever goes under,
then what what's what's going to happen to your order? Right?
Like you don't know, like probably be liquidated, honestly, Yeah,
so that's that's a risk. Hey, if you're willing to

(01:10:38):
go through all that.

Speaker 2 (01:10:40):
Now, when the company like geek Jack can't export things
to one of its primary consumers, what's the likelihood of
remaining solvent?

Speaker 1 (01:10:52):
So a lot of companies I think will may go under.
Uh honestly, like a lot of good companies that are
reliable establish because they can't shift stuff out to their
major market. Then what are you gonna do? Right, Like
fifty percent or more of their profit comes from the US,
and basically one hundred percent of the things that are

(01:11:12):
made are probably made in China. Now, if you're thinking, hey,
why don't we just start having things made in America, Yeah,
good luck with that, you know, never mind it, we
don't have the factories. Even if we do have the factories,
who is gonna do all this work. What minimum wage,
even our minimum wage is three times the amount of

(01:11:33):
an average salary of a Chinese worker. Otherwise, okay, so
prepare to pay three times the costs even if those
workers are willing to take the absolute federal minimum wage,
and they won't. But even if even if, okay, so
good luck with that. And you know, yet, never mind

(01:11:58):
all the logistics, all the wrong materials, all the things. Okay,
there's a lot of costs incurred, and of course new
factory they're gonna throw those costs onto that too. So
still it might even be worse than you know, if
you haven't made in America. I it's I have a
sneaking suspicion that it would cost even more than two

(01:12:18):
h percent teriff, Like that same figure that would cost
you one hundred and twenty will probably cost you like
the same amount, but made here, Like you're never going
to see that amound drop. Well, like, yeah, pay to
tell you anyways. Uh, that's that's an impressing thought. But yeah,

(01:12:43):
but that's the implication here from my and and you're
gonna see more companies wrestle with this, Sony. We're just
talking about like the limited edition for Ghost of Gilty, right,
all those physical products right, Uh, it's it's I think
it's listed for two and fifty dollars on the Sony Store.

(01:13:03):
I don't know what tariff looks like on that thing,
but you know, have fun with that. There you go.
That's the and And I quite honestly, I don't know
what that means for physical games yet because I haven't
seen what that looks like. But I wouldn't be surprised
if tomorrow they're just like, yeah, we're going to slap

(01:13:24):
a three hundred percent of tariff on these things that
are made outside the US. And these games are not
put together within the US. So what's what does that mean?
Like a shipment of physical copies even if I don't
tear iff like digital copy and you know, you can
all switch over to digital like you know, only it's fine,

(01:13:47):
But what about your game systems? You know, what if
you just say electronics no longer exempt? So that switch
if is if it's put together in China, than how
much is that? How much is the switch right now?

Speaker 2 (01:14:03):
Oh gosh, wasn't it like four fifty?

Speaker 1 (01:14:06):
Yeah, let's say let's say it's not MSRP. Let's say,
it's like just the cost of making it. And let's say,
and like the bill of material they usually sell at loss. Anyway,
this is kind of a usual.

Speaker 2 (01:14:22):
However, however, I think that there was a Business Insider
article that listed out the bomb the bill of materials
that goes into a switch, and it really wasn't very
much like I think it was still like they had
maybe fifty bucks profit on that, but it was like
it was.

Speaker 1 (01:14:39):
Like, let's say three hundred, so prepare to switch to
to be nine hundred dollars. Let let's say let's say
let's say it's three hundred dollars. Let's let's say they
make one hundred something. Prepare for that to be now
nine hundred plus another one hundred dollars of like profit,
like a thousand dollars. Yay Uh says physical games are

(01:15:04):
made in Mexico. According to Daniel atman Uh, they will
get more expensive. Yeah. So, and here's the thing, and
we I just said that will come back to talk
about uncertainty, and then that's part of the uncertainty. There's
no saying that someone from Messical pissed off our administration.
Now we're going to throw one hundred and fifty percent
here on Mexico. Yeah, there's no there used to be

(01:15:28):
right where we have like some kind of trade treaties
and we're like, yeah, we're pretty certain that nothing's going
to happen. Well, all those things are out the water.
Now there's no treaty. There's nothing that holds this administration back.
They can just do and say whatever they want whenever
they want, and then they can remove the terrat the
next day or a week from then or two weeks,

(01:15:49):
or raise it to three hundred percent, five hundred percent,
take walk it back the next day.

Speaker 2 (01:15:56):
The next day.

Speaker 1 (01:15:59):
You're telling me that they you can't do that, they
won't do it.

Speaker 2 (01:16:02):
What you're what you're kind of illustrating here really well,
is that when you have such a volatile situation, you
really can't afford to make your business center around interacting
with the United States. And that's the key here, guys,
is that it is that uncertainty, not only uncertainty from

(01:16:23):
the environment, but as consumers, I don't know if I
want to place an order with you, because you may
tack that tariff onto me at a later time, and
if you don't, you might just hold it right and
I might get like this crazy delay, like, so maybe
I just won't give you any money at all, right,

(01:16:46):
Uh And to Derek's point from a business standpoint, well,
the businesses don't know if they want to do businesses
posts anymore because this is crazy, Like, I don't I
don't know if I want to tell you anything that
I don't want to offer you anything because I can't,
within reason, hold that promise that's gonna hurt me in

(01:17:07):
the end, just like these indie developers. You know, as
much as we bring these folks on to talk about
their passion projects, they are artists who are trying to
create that, but they are also business people creating a
product for you to consume, right, And I don't want
to make it sound that way, but the truth of

(01:17:29):
the matter is there. They've got money in on this
thing and they're very real impact to them, whether or
not they can recorporate, you know, that cost that they
throw in to create a thing, it's real. So it's
about these things is playing out now, and I just

(01:17:51):
want you guys to be aware that this is coming
and it's it's here now. This is no more speculation.
It is happening. It's just a matter of how much
more of these things will come along, So keep your
eyes peel, just make sure you're aware that these changes
are coming, and don't be surprised when the next game

(01:18:12):
you buy is one hundred and fifty dollars physical. Well,
speaking of games that sell for one hundred and fifty dollars,
let's talk a little bit about this whole chronal Trigger thing, because.

Speaker 1 (01:18:28):
Away from depression into a different kind of depression.

Speaker 2 (01:18:33):
How dare you? How dare you spoil the story? Sir,
so sir? A little while ago, you might have heard
some of the Internet's euphoria at the news of rumors
that Ugi Hori spilled the beans during an interview at

(01:18:54):
a comicon here in Naples twenty twenty five. Uji Hoi,
the creator of Dragon Quest, and you know, one of
one of the members of the Dream Team who created
Chrono Trigger. Well, he was at a panel and he
had allegedly mentioned a Chronal Trigger remake of some sort,

(01:19:16):
and then after someone was like, are you sure about that?
It's like he walked back after that or something like that. I.
I don't speak Japanese. You may not know this about me,
but New Hongkonga, Uh yeah, Skoshi what kind of miss
not very much at all. So this apparent leak, though

(01:19:37):
had sparked wild speculation on the Internet and reaction from
fans all over the internet. However, turns out, yeah, that's
kind of our kind of a mistranslation issue going on here.
I guess do you want to you want to talk
a little bit more about that. As someone who actually
does speak uh New Hungo.

Speaker 1 (01:19:57):
I speak only very tiny New Home Goal, but mistranslation
is at fault here.

Speaker 2 (01:20:05):
You know.

Speaker 1 (01:20:06):
It kind of takes me back to like the earlier
days of Hitpoint, where I would occasionally find things that
talks about games in Japan and it's like, oh, no, mistranslation. Sorry,
things happen, not not for me. I make sure to
double trouble check the primary sources. But that does happen

(01:20:28):
every now and then in our space, so it's not
too surprising that this happened. But I think now I
didn't buy into this whole rumor thing from the get go,
because like I'm just like, yeah, okay, whatever, I mean,
there have been stupid ways of leaking information before, and
people are humans, so like, you know, would put it

(01:20:50):
past it that this could have happened. It could I
just had, you know, I'm just feeling like Charlie Brown
right now, and Lucy keeps holding that ball and I'm
just like, you know, but I'm not I'm not even
gonna try and kick that. I'm not falling for it
this time.

Speaker 2 (01:21:04):
No, exactly, I'm I'm I'm used to hyping responsibly.

Speaker 1 (01:21:08):
A little jaded right.

Speaker 2 (01:21:11):
In fact, but.

Speaker 1 (01:21:14):
I just feel like, look it, I won't be super
hyped when and even then responsibly, when and if Square
Innix ever make like a release trailer or or some
kind of teaser, even then, you know, then is legit, right,
And yeah, there's a high chance that's coming. But until

(01:21:36):
such point, anyone who miss book maybe perhaps it means nothing.
It's just like Yoko Tarro, like all these It's starting
to get a little frustrating for me because I obviously
I go through a lot of game news and every
time people tag me like, oh, did you hear what
Yoko Tara said? Him, Like, no, what did Yoko tay Yo?
He was talking about the possibility of a new near game.

(01:21:58):
I'm like, okay, and and like and in another interview
you're like, oh, did you hear what yor guitar said
oh my god, new Near is coming in. You read
the art, you read the interview, and it's just your
being your gatar, and it's like, yeah, sure, I wouldn't
mind making it if there's money squaring it, you know,
like what is a fair?

Speaker 2 (01:22:17):
This is why we very rarely talk about rumors, by
the way, on the hip point, because they so rare,
unless except for like the Nvidia leak. You know, if
it's something like that, we'll we'll talk a bit about it.

Speaker 1 (01:22:30):
But but that was worthwhile because and like part of
that actually came true.

Speaker 2 (01:22:35):
A lot of it were like okay, I'm still thinking that.

Speaker 1 (01:22:38):
I mean, like the there's only a couple of things
left that haven't been on Fast nine and tactics, right,
and those are those are the two? No, it wasn't.

Speaker 2 (01:22:47):
That was tactics, ogre, You're thinking of tactics, Uh ogre?

Speaker 1 (01:22:52):
Oh f f tactics.

Speaker 2 (01:22:53):
Yeah, I'm talking about all they read tactics. Well, that
was in the that was in the leak, wasn't it, right?

Speaker 1 (01:22:59):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:22:59):
I So those are the two things that haven't come
to fruition, not yet, but maybe maybe it's somebody. So
that actually, to me, the most interesting thing isn't the
fact that there is this maybe maybe not rumor thing happening,

(01:23:21):
but more like the reaction to the rumor from all
the fans who just came out of hiding, like oh
what what is this about? This repick and they peeked
their head out and then they you know, make little
comments like oh, I wish this like this, or I
hope that you know they won't do that. Reading all

(01:23:42):
these comments from all the fans, to me was the
more interesting thing. And I hope square Enix takes notice
because this is kind of like an unintentional like survey
that they had just sent out, like are you interested?

Speaker 1 (01:23:56):
And if so, what do you want to say?

Speaker 2 (01:23:58):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:23:58):
I hope they do. I hope they take notice that
the yes. As a matter of fact, there is substantial,
you know, interests in this. But if you are going
to do it, here's what we kind of wish you
would or wouldn't do. Like some of the more prominent
things I see is like, please do not make it episodic,

(01:24:18):
like what?

Speaker 2 (01:24:19):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:24:19):
Please please don't make major changes to the story. Don't
don't do a final Fantasy seven seven? Yeah, please don't
pull f F seven. Not that I personally think the F
seven remake is bad. Like I'm one of the maybe
fewer people who actually don't mind it. But if you
did it to Krawl a Trigger, I think I would
be pretty upset because one of the best thing about

(01:24:42):
CT is how concise it is. Yeah, you break that
up into episodic like nonsense, that ruins this whole, like,
you know, concise tight storytelling. You completely ruin one of
the pillar that makes it such a remarkable title. I mean,
I have my own wishless. I hope that they can

(01:25:04):
take some notes from Arc System when they do to animation,
because our system had the pleasure of making the game
called Fighter Z and that was incredible and it was incredible, right,
And in one of the interviews with Arc System, they
were talking about like the difficulty of animating dragon Ball.

Speaker 2 (01:25:29):
Well, yeah, you know, because dragon Ball doesn't actually have
an art style that is based on like Euclidean physics.

Speaker 1 (01:25:38):
Exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:25:39):
It's like, how you know, Mickey Mouse, for instance, has
like the two balls on his head, no no matter
which direction he's facing, they're always at like you know,
you know, ten o'clock and three o'clock or whatever, you know,
And that's just part of the style. The same goes
for like dragon Ball characters, like yeah, it's the weirdest thing,
like they look it on paper, but when you try

(01:26:02):
to translate that into like I mean, if you ever
looked at an action figure of dragon Ball Z and
you're like, huh, something's not quite right, that's why. That's
that's very.

Speaker 1 (01:26:11):
Much why so uh yeah, So they were talking about
the difficulty and then the funniest thing that came up,
and I think this may come up for if they
ever do a Chrown Trigger remake, which is this is
what they said. They say, here's what you here's what
Dragon Ball animation looks like, here's what you think it

(01:26:37):
looked like based on your recollection, and here's what we made.
Right for all the people who say like uh and
and I quote them for saying that, oh, well, good
job making this game looks very authentic to the animation,
it's not. We made it authentic to what you thought
what how you remembered it, yeah, which is not the

(01:27:00):
same as what it actually looked like.

Speaker 2 (01:27:04):
Yeah, that's that's exactly the point I talked about when
I tell people about like this is why no game
will ever live up to chroninal trigger. Whenever I talk
about like, oh, Sea of Stars, you know, a lot
of people were really disappointed. It's like, well, nothing Sea
of Stars could have done could have made you think like, oh, yeah,
this is just as good as chronal trigger. Not because
it's any worse than croinal trigger. I mean, that's obviously

(01:27:26):
up for debates. Subjective, Yeah, exactly, it's it's very subjective.
But but the fact of the matter is you're not
comparing it to chronal trigger as it exists. You're gonna
be comparing it to crinal trigger as you remember playing
it when you were ten, like, and that is a
hell of a gap to fill.

Speaker 1 (01:27:49):
It's Yeah, So I hope that they take a page
from from from our system. If if ever do take
on this endeavor, just please think about what what what
other people have done necessarily successful, and maybe see if

(01:28:11):
you could embulate it somehow.

Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
I'm curious what our viewers would want out of a
crinal trigger remake.

Speaker 1 (01:28:18):
Yeah, that was because you know what you just read
in my mind els was about as next there go ahead.

Speaker 2 (01:28:23):
Yeah, because like I know that there's so many different directions.
I know, I know a lot of people would just
be happy with a HD two D Colnal Trigger, don't
change anything else, Just do that and you're golden. And
part of me is like, yeah, I think that'd be
all right. I think some people want to see like
a triple A version of Chronal Trigger, because back in

(01:28:43):
the day, Cronal Trigger itself was a triple A style title.
It was, you know, took millions and millions of dollars
to produce several people, a huge team at the time,
all experts, you know, And that's that's one of the
other things that a lot of people don't seem to
remember or realizes that, Like when you compare modern indies

(01:29:05):
that have the shoe string budget, like they can make
a game look as good as Chronal Trigger, but we're
still talking about like back in the back in Crinal Trigger,
when it was being made, they were paying writers like
big budgets for the time.

Speaker 1 (01:29:20):
To just such inflation, it's way more expensive to make
a Crown Trigger than any of these indies, not close.
But also that's one of the things though, is that
writing is not something that depreciates over time like that
that's something that like, uh, it hasn't evolved over time,
Like you're still like a professional writer in nineteen ninety.

(01:29:43):
You know, writing a scenario for Chronal trigger Is is
going to cost, you know, adjusted for inflation, a whole
heck of a lot. Like that, Like the writing of
a game does not decrease because it is an indie,
if that makes sense, Like you're paying for talent, and
I think that that's something that like technology has helped

(01:30:06):
us fill a gap in terms of making an indie RPG, right,
Like you can make an incredible game for a lot
less money these days, an incredible looking sixteen bit style game.

Speaker 2 (01:30:20):
Yeah, but like a lot of things improved in that regard,
but in a lot of other ways, Like writing is
a barrier for a lot of people.

Speaker 1 (01:30:31):
I feel like writing has gotten harder.

Speaker 2 (01:30:34):
Yeah, that too, because everything's kind of already been done. Yeah,
nothing new under the sun.

Speaker 1 (01:30:40):
Yeah. Well, it's like if I released you know, Shakespeare
in Shakespeare time, than its Shakespeare. If I released Shakespeare
fifty one hundred years after Shakespeare, it's not Shakespeare. It's
not good enough because Shakespeare did it. So it's like that, right,
so you have to sort of like up up to

(01:31:00):
anty up the game, right, And.

Speaker 2 (01:31:02):
Like, how much do you think George R. R. Martin
was paid for his collaboration on Elden Ring, Like I
don't know, I don't know, but I bet it wasn't
a insubstantial amount of money and.

Speaker 1 (01:31:14):
A substantial amount of money.

Speaker 2 (01:31:16):
And I think it would cost quite a bit to
have Brandon Sanderson get on board, like writing a you know,
a new uh J RPG like that would be sick.
That would be really sick.

Speaker 1 (01:31:28):
But that's that part of me that wish people won't
keep comparing games to chronal trigger's. Does that's bad that
you have a benchmark? You know, I mean we all
have benchmarks. I subconsciously compare, but then I have to
sort of take it back and say, yeah, but that
was chronal trigger. Yeah, and this is not so judge

(01:31:53):
it for what it is, right, and so.

Speaker 2 (01:31:56):
Anyways, that's that's a hard is Sorry for the Russian there,
but it's hard to talk about like what would I
want out of a chronal trigger without thinking about the
complexities of like how could it translate to a modern
day RPG experience, Like if I if we wanted to
take a triple A like you'd have to I mean,

(01:32:17):
it's a twenty five hour RPG on the super Nintendo.
Would anybody buy a triple A RPG for the PlayStation
five for eighty ninety dollars that only lasts twenty five
dollars or twenty five hours. I don't think so. I
feel like they almost would feel obligated to pad it

(01:32:40):
out with all the crap that would make it definitively
not a chronal trigger game anymore, you know, it would
feel a lot more bloated, and and.

Speaker 1 (01:32:51):
I kind of would look at the opposite approach because
if you look at like if you look at say
Charles manor right, yeah, why it was so successful is
how people praise all the things they kept and the
authenticity and and yes, the changes are fine, but that's

(01:33:14):
usually where the issue comes from, to be honest, and
same with like Romance and Saga. They're like, yeah, that's
another like successful remake that is very different from the original,
and people praise it all the things, like yeah, I
like that you kept all like the good stuff. But

(01:33:35):
but the difference between Romance and Saga two and Crown
Trigger is Romance Zaga two wasn't a very well received
gamers then there were a lot of issues with it,
like the original, so they went and made changes. I
almost feel like Crown Trigger had a lot of things
already figured it out, and you don't need to reinvent
the wheel, like you could just push the game out

(01:33:55):
us is with updated graphics, either in the HD two
the sense, or you want to go three D, which
it will be a little harder, but you can do
it because we've seen them do similar things again like
Romes and Slaga two and Charles and Manna. You can
pretty faithfully translate two D into pretty good looking three

(01:34:20):
D that doesn't have to go to you know, Final
Fantasy seven territory, because I think that's overdoing it, especially
true for like the the dragon Ball sort of style. Yeah, yeah,
like the Toriama style. Like I don't think the Toriama
style is calling for hyper photo realistic like models.

Speaker 2 (01:34:42):
I will not be satisfied until I see Chronos, until
I see the pores on Chronos.

Speaker 1 (01:34:47):
No, that's just thinking about it. It's gross. Please don't
do it with that hair too, Like it's just hyper
photo realistic.

Speaker 2 (01:35:00):
To see the individual follicles when I zoom in in
photo mode.

Speaker 1 (01:35:04):
No, a lot of the charm from like the two
D era too, it's like those eyes popping and stuff. Yeah,
like the cartoon cartoony. Yeah, they've made a little more
cartoony style. Even if they do three D, if that
is something that dos all that, that is something that
is really difficult to properly do with like polygon models,

(01:35:26):
you know.

Speaker 2 (01:35:27):
Is to get that.

Speaker 1 (01:35:27):
I think Charles and Manna did that pretty well. Like
the original Trial Mana also had a lot of these,
because it's the same error and the same graphics. They
did it pretty well, I think. Not they did it
in their own way, and I thought it was pretty
It was pretty good. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:35:44):
Maybe maybe they won't make it in three D because
Marl smacks R S and and that would just be
too too far for this, you know, very you know,
they just need a sensor.

Speaker 1 (01:35:54):
Yep, exactly kind of guys, tell us in the comments, please,
what you would want to see in a crawl trigger
remake if it ever happens. Just give us your wishless
we want to know, all right, Moving along, Yeah, So

(01:36:16):
from the team responsible for Dungan rumpa uh two kio games,
newest title is called.

Speaker 2 (01:36:26):
I Don't know where is it? Okay Okay Defense Academy. Yeah,
last Defense Academy. The one hundred line the Last Defense Academy.
It appears to be pretty darn successful, but the company
is unfortunately still in some crippling debt.

Speaker 1 (01:36:43):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:36:43):
So, when asked if the game would be ported to
other platforms uh and add additional foreign language support, one
of the founders of two Ko Games, Katsukata Kadoka said
cuts a sorry. Responded that on Twitter, saying, if I

(01:37:06):
can pay off my debt early and secure enough operating
funds for the company, I'd love to get started right away,
but right now we're still on the brink of going under.

Speaker 1 (01:37:17):
Yeah, which is something that that's a regular game or
probably don't really think about or think of, because when
you see a company releasing a pretty successful game, you think, yeah,
they're probably doing pretty well. Financially speaking, I mean because
if you sell a lot, it means you have a

(01:37:38):
lot of money, which is ignoring the fact that other
parties probably take cuts. And also that there is such
a thing called operating capital, which is to say that
even if I made a sell on a thing, if
you don't have that money in your bank, but you're
still paying out to staff, then you can they will

(01:38:00):
be in debt uh, and that debt has interest incurred
and so and so forth. Uh, it's a lot of things. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
it's it's a it's a difficult world out there, and
it sucks to hear that even though the game sold
really well, that that it's still.

Speaker 2 (01:38:21):
I mean, gosh, that's.

Speaker 1 (01:38:24):
I've actually seen the game in action. A friend of mine,
uh was playing that. And listen. If you're a Donk
fan and you like RPGs, I I don't think you
should miss on this one. This one is very much
like Dona coated like nice.

Speaker 2 (01:38:41):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:38:42):
Yeah, it's it's just like it's like it's if if
I had called that, if I called this game don tactics,
believe me, you know, you'd believe me if I if
I called it that. Yeah, and yeah, it has a
lot of the same humor. It has a lot of

(01:39:03):
different characters, you know, different twisted scenarios that made the
series very popular. Let's just leave it at that, and
a lot of new innovations too. So it's not like
just like playing by their own stake, but like they
have their strength and they know what it is and
they are playing by that. But they also added like

(01:39:23):
a lot of new things that make this game very
excite interesting so much so that Yogoto actually like heavily
praised this game, which is pretty cool to see. Yeah,
but they are still in the brink of going under,
according to one of the founders of the company. And
you know what that is the you know who was

(01:39:45):
it we were interviewing who was talking about just like
the risk of bringing games to market? Was it.

Speaker 2 (01:39:56):
During an interview or before an interview?

Speaker 1 (01:39:59):
Yeah? Okay, so it wasn't James. Was it before James
or after James?

Speaker 2 (01:40:04):
I was it one of the tilers?

Speaker 1 (01:40:07):
Was it? No? No, No, it was it was Was
it one of the Tyler's. I think it was. I
think it was Chenzy.

Speaker 2 (01:40:14):
Actually it might have been Chency.

Speaker 1 (01:40:16):
Yeah. We're talking about like actually putting money into these things,
and uh you know, and.

Speaker 2 (01:40:25):
Yeah, you know that was one of it was one
of his his focuses. Yeah, because he's kind of self
funded this entire thing. Yeah, or for my familiar So
I think he feels that very directly.

Speaker 1 (01:40:38):
These things cost money to make. Man like your staff
needs a paycheck even if the owner doesn't. Small businesses,
man like small studios. We're not talking about like a
square annex or a you know that that has sufficient
funds from stocks to whatever. Like we're talking about like
a small indie studio that.

Speaker 2 (01:40:59):
Probably is running on venture capital potentially potentially potentially.

Speaker 1 (01:41:06):
Uh, and they they are running significant risk and if
they want to make a great game, then they can't
spare expenses. But if they don't spare expenses, that they
run a more risky gambits because even if they pay
more money, that doesn't necessarily translate to more sales. It
could be one of those cult classic where it's like,

(01:41:27):
oh yeah, this is a great game, and you know,
for a small could also be one of those situations
where like they thought that they had this amount of
time to do something, but then they had to delay
the game because of unforeseen circumstances that meant keep more
people on the payroll longer, and then they've you know,
outrun their their they're.

Speaker 2 (01:41:49):
What do you call that? Well issue?

Speaker 1 (01:41:52):
You know what, I'm used with project management. This is
whyally exists because I am those people who try.

Speaker 2 (01:41:59):
Issues with project management and RPGs.

Speaker 1 (01:42:02):
Never and so in the game industry, I would be
a producer like I would my my role would be
like a producer. They don't they don't necessarily call us
like PMS like, well, be a producer, Like I keep
things in budget and on schedule. That's a producer job.
So yeah, that there you go, Like that's uh in
case you guys wonder every wonder what it produces us, Like,

(01:42:23):
that's what it produces us. So I think it's interesting too. Also,
another company I was gonna talk about Vanilla Ware. Vanilla
Ware is like infamous for constantly going in and out
of big debt and like every time they release a
game that like, yeah, this might be the last game
we make, because uh, this is not like a profitable adventure.

(01:42:46):
We just like making really beautiful games that are way
over budget. But once you get it your hand, you're like, man,
this is an art this is an artwork, you know,
Like all the games I've ever made are gorgeous. Thirteen
cent is beautiful, Unicorn Overlord absolutely gorgeous game that plays
really well. Uh but guess what this you know, has

(01:43:11):
money involved, hiring great top of the line writers, top
of the line artists, Okay, making all kinds of crazy
UIs and you know, just that thing isn't a play
a playable art piece. Is how I explain to people
about like you know, vanilla war games, and you know
those things cost money, man, So I just think it's

(01:43:34):
a crazy things to hear two colds still saying that
they're still in debt. So moving on to the next
topic and the last industry topic that we're going to discuss,
and this is going to be a fun one. I
don't talk about because it's successful indies, right Yeah, speaking

(01:43:54):
of selling a lot of copies, Uh clear, Obscure is
just absolutely nailed it, guys. A million copies sold in
just the first couple of days. They say that that
Oblivion's almost simultaneous release didn't actually affect their sales at all,

(01:44:16):
or in fact, might have helped it because they say
that it helped draw eyes to exceptional RPGs in the space,
and you love to hear stuff like that. And I
didn't get to play it really because I had the
audio issue with the voice acting, so I'm I'm on
the outside looking.

Speaker 2 (01:44:35):
But you know who did get to play it? Oh?
Just some nerd, I know, how dare you?

Speaker 1 (01:44:46):
Yes, I have had the pleasure of playing it. Thank
you to your Start Wars studio for sponsoring both Derek
and myself. Even though Derek had trouble playing the game.
I fortunately did not have trouble playing the game, and
I've got to say that it is a crazy game.
But before I go into that, I do want to

(01:45:07):
read another statistics to you guys. Because the million copies
sold was from Staff four Interactive like Twitter, like they
they claimed the million copies sold in exactly two days,
like it was like sell one day, second day. They
made the Twitter say hey we saw a million copies
two days. That's wild. Here's another statistics I want to

(01:45:29):
read to you guys. I think if that didn't tell
you how crazy it is. The Steam version of the game. Okay,
just the Steam version. Yeah, got one hundred and twenty
one thousand simultaneous player over that same weekend, which is
the highest simultaneous players on any grpg ever on Stow.

(01:45:56):
Holy k okay the previous record holder metaphor, I can
see that, Okay, yeah, yeah, and I think it's one
of six games to ever had broken the one hundred
k simultaneous player ever.

Speaker 2 (01:46:13):
Dude.

Speaker 1 (01:46:14):
So if that does not explain anything at all, yeah,
and to notas point like a huge shawls the fact
that it's like fifty bucks MSRP so it's like forty
nine nine nine on Steam, which is a steal. Yeah,
with this game, you.

Speaker 2 (01:46:30):
Can, be quite honest, you can get clear, Obscure and
Oblivion for one hundred bucks. Yeah, well well but two Okay, sorry,
I don't mean to keep talking about Oblivion, but I
have played that, but but not Obscure. So anyways, let's
go go ahead.

Speaker 1 (01:46:48):
It's fine. We did. We didn't want to sneak in
Oblivion somehow, and we just don't I don't know enough
to really contribute. And then you haven't played a game,
so that there's there's that problem. But we snuck it
in there.

Speaker 2 (01:47:01):
We got it.

Speaker 1 (01:47:03):
Yeah, so let's let's talk a little bit of it
about the game and what that may mean. I mean,
that's just a remind folks that this is this is
the game that was done with thirty people on staff.
Do you know that.

Speaker 2 (01:47:16):
I think I heard something about that, but I didn't
actually look into that.

Speaker 1 (01:47:21):
Oh that's just someone told me anyways, someone pretty reliable
told me that it's like more or less thirty people
on staff. It's pretty Yeah. Turn based is dead, guys,
the case not just turn based, turn based single player
experience is dead. Quote me, Okay, I mean, oh no,

(01:47:44):
all these clips are going to come out of me, say.

Speaker 2 (01:47:48):
No context, We're going to post truth society. It doesn't
matter anymore. No, it's fine.

Speaker 1 (01:47:54):
Yeah, whoever whoever said that, like any executive who had
set that in any board meetings need to just like
eat the words. Man. Like, Look, I know that there
is like the wholyo verse of the things out there,
but there's also the like Expedition thirty three of the

(01:48:15):
world out there, Like they can simultaneously be successful and
it doesn't have to be in one way or the other. Uh,
that's what I'm saying. I'm not saying. It's not like
the fact that Expedition thirty three comes out and somehow
all the things onlike I don't know, Genjin Impact is
not a thing, like no, it absolutely is still a thing.
They're still making money.

Speaker 2 (01:48:34):
Yeah, but it's just that there can be more than
one at a time.

Speaker 1 (01:48:38):
Right, right, thirty people former Ubisoft deaths there you go,
thank you so much. Not a case. Yeah, And it's
just but they have outsourcing person now, which is fair,
which is fair, But it's still a relatively small team
for the kind of level of game that they had

(01:49:00):
put out, Like I would expect double the people for
the level of quality and polish this game.

Speaker 2 (01:49:08):
I mean I've seen I've seen credits. They go on
for hours. Man. So like I'm just saying, like the
fact that this is as pretty as it is and
as polished as it is, and to have such a
a relatively small team is a relatively small team, Yeah,

(01:49:28):
I like this is like the small team.

Speaker 1 (01:49:30):
Like we've talked to indie devs working with like ten people,
you know, yeah, they make good games, but like.

Speaker 2 (01:49:35):
The Star team I think had maybe thirty people if
I'm not mistaken, Like, like, that's I mean, they are
not the same, but it's still yeah. Yeah, apples and oranges.
In some ways, they're both fruits, but they boy are
they different. So let's get back to your expectations there. Three.

Speaker 1 (01:49:57):
I won't spoil this for anyone, okay, but I will
just say this, the prologue itself was more emotionally charged
for me than some games in this entirety. That's I'll
just leave it as that. I play certain games that
didn't get me to feel as much as I did

(01:50:18):
in just the prologue of Expedition thirty three, which is
for me to try to get Derek to play this game.

Speaker 2 (01:50:27):
Yeah, I will. I'm sure that I will.

Speaker 1 (01:50:31):
Yeah, I have a copy Star Fall sent your copy, bro.

Speaker 2 (01:50:35):
I still can't get the audio. I am trying to
get the audio to work. I need to figure out
why it is. You know what I think it might be.
It's probably the dumbest thing. I think that my PS
five might be auto detecting like a surround sound environment
and trying to put audio through a center channel that
doesn't exist. That's probably what it is. After I've thought

(01:50:56):
on it for like a few days. But I need
to fi figured that out for sure, because man, this
it sucks not being able to play it right now,
because I know if I play it right now, I
hear the audio duck, so like I can hear or
I'm supposed to hear things. It's distracting that I can't.
And uh yeah, I've tried the English and the French

(01:51:16):
voice acting options. Neither of them were present. It's probably
something stupid like that because nobody else is having the
issue I was. I was looking for information like prior
to launch, and obviously there was none, right, So I
looked around after launch and nobody else had that issue.
So it's probably just a you know, dumb thing.

Speaker 1 (01:51:34):
But whatever, man, we'll get you to figure it that out.
But boy, that this this this game is so I'm
actually streaming a game now on Twitch. You guys want
to come by to hangout. I'm over on Twitch. We're
actually playing this game. I put this game away for
a little bit because it's my last week of doing
school stuff. Like I officially turned in all my projects

(01:51:55):
all I'm just sitting and waiting to graduate. But last
week I was still writing like my last papers and
finally turned them all in. Saw now I can finally
go in, just relax and enjoy the game. I will
say I have a lot of friends, like personal friends
who aren't necessarily turn based RPG fans themselves.

Speaker 2 (01:52:19):
And they're friends.

Speaker 1 (01:52:21):
Yes, I just surprising, I know, but they're also.

Speaker 2 (01:52:30):
I'm just saying I wouldn't date my wife until we
played Earthbound together, so you know.

Speaker 1 (01:52:36):
Well, see that's why they're friends. See, not my significant other.
No one has passed that test yet, unfortunately. See, I
just don't have any other friends. That's that's how I
do that.

Speaker 2 (01:52:47):
You will play this game with me. Old g RPG
fans don't have friends because they play single player only games.

Speaker 1 (01:52:56):
Oh, I'm also playing this game in French right now,
so this is the first time that I'm playing at
turn based Armies. You have absolutely no idea what they're saying,
you know, at least in Japanese. I have like some
idea what they're saying. I pick up a word of French.
No idea, but you know what, it's so fun hearing
them curse in French and then just cursing along, even

(01:53:18):
though I have no idea. It's fun. It's a great experience.
That's a lot of cursing. Okay, but if you see
their situation that they're being thrown into.

Speaker 2 (01:53:30):
I think only French. The only French curse I think
I could recognize is like or whatever, my terrible.

Speaker 1 (01:53:39):
I hope that that's not even gonna try. I don't
speak French at all, but it's me neither. But I'm
going to see if that's even a swear. I don't know. Yeah,
So that brings to the discussion, which is what does
this mean to like, Oh, yeah, it's just as holy blue,
I don't okay, is that what it means means?

Speaker 2 (01:54:00):
Yeah? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:54:02):
Why even soccer or something or no, no, no, No, soccer
is in like sacred no no, as in the cheese. Oh,
I don't know. I thought there, I thought the origin
of this has something to do with soccer and soccer
teams and such and such. No, I don't know, I
don't I don't know anyways, uh so, you know what

(01:54:25):
does a lot of implication from this? I think, because
here's like, you know what, not only is this game
very successful, not only is this an indie game, but
it is made by a team of French developers. Yeah,
a French developers, which is not necessarily the first country
that you think about when you think about a popular

(01:54:49):
uh turn based grapeg No these things. Isn't Japan number one?
You think us number two? And then nowhere else there
are still.

Speaker 2 (01:54:59):
Going to be dying on the hill though that JRPGs
must be made in Japan by a staff of purely
Japanese only people, and yes they do require a twenty
three in me result. Before admitting that anything is a JRPG, you.

Speaker 1 (01:55:16):
Need at least two generations of Japanese heritage in order
for it to count. Yes, yeah, not only are you
like you know, genetically like Japanese too previous generations. That's
your parents and your grandparents all have to reside born
and raised in Japan. All does not county.

Speaker 2 (01:55:37):
Sorry, Baku New York style pizza is not real pizza
because it's not made in Italy. So yeah, just saying.
I still though to all the haters out there.

Speaker 1 (01:55:51):
Also, I like pinau on my pizza.

Speaker 2 (01:55:53):
There is one pizza that I've had that actually has
really it. It goes really well with the pine apple,
and it's made here locally in Manhattan, Kansas. It's it's
a pizza shuttle thing. It's called the Maui wowie. It's
it's a pizza that awie. Yeah. Yeah, it's got a pineapple,
a spicy barbecue sauce instead of like a pizza sauce.

(01:56:17):
Kalipinos and as soon as we sat, we like pineapple
kalipinos and uh and Canadian bacon a bacon, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:56:27):
And Canadian bacon. It couldn't even be American. It's Canadian.

Speaker 2 (01:56:32):
Well, they might have to switch to regular bacon after
the tariffs hit.

Speaker 1 (01:56:35):
Oh no, yeah, we're getting people saying pineapple and pizza,
how dare you? I'm sorry, man, I pineapple and pizza
is fine. I don't know what the fuss is about.

Speaker 2 (01:56:47):
It's I mean, like any other topic, it's a textural issue,
like it's you know, I also don't typically like like
tomato on a pizza because like it's hot and it's juicy,
and it's just like.

Speaker 1 (01:57:01):
A weird textural mismatch in the mouth. Can I tell
you another thing that's weird about me? Maybe this is
gonna get some hate, but like an unpopular opinion, I
hate orange chicken and lemon chicken.

Speaker 2 (01:57:15):
All right, guys, well it was fun to have this
episode with you.

Speaker 1 (01:57:18):
I'm just kidding something about the citrus fruit and like
the fact that it's warm just like ah, just I
can't I get.

Speaker 2 (01:57:28):
That not like this and that that warmth just gross.

Speaker 1 (01:57:34):
So I get it. I get white people don't like apple, but.

Speaker 2 (01:57:36):
I mean yeah, yeah, so, but I will say that
orange chicken just isn't good anyway because it's just pure
sugar on chicken. It's like, come on.

Speaker 1 (01:57:49):
Anyways. But yeah, so French mate game. You know, I
just feel like this kind of opened up the the
Pandora box. Well no, no, not Pandora box, but like maybe
whatever the opposite of the Pandora boxes, Like if the
pen door boxes the flood gate of which like misfortune,

(01:58:11):
like the spells. Then this is sort of like the opposite.
Like I feel like there's just open the flood gate
of possibilities for we've opened Pandora's sphere. Yes, it's as
like Happy Cousin. It's a different geometry. And I want

(01:58:33):
to see like the next say, you know, Filipino RPG.
I mean where we see like some games from like
the Philippines or like Indonesia.

Speaker 2 (01:58:44):
Remember we talked about uh Space for the Unbound.

Speaker 1 (01:58:47):
Space Winning and Bounds, Like it's a beautiful game, absolutely gorgeous,
great storytelling, great gameplay. Overlook because it's from Indonesia. No
one knows anything about Indonesia, which ironically the game tried
to teach people some things about. Yeah, and I just
feel like that basically opens it up, Like, hey, congratulations

(01:59:09):
to Expedition thirty three. But not only does that happen.
I don't think this is like a flu. I think
this is just a thing that was just waiting to happen.
It was it was going to happen. If it was
an Expedition thirty three, it would have been a different game.
It was just a matter of time, people have caught up.

(01:59:30):
The US and Japan don't hold like Monopoly. Despite what
some may think on making a success with GPG, any country,
any developers, anywhere can make a game with that same
level of success, and you know, you know, with that
level of fanfare, So that really opens it up. I

(01:59:53):
cannot wait to see what the War has to offer.

Speaker 2 (01:59:57):
Man, I'm looking forward to seeing more like and I'll
still call them j RPGs because it is a style
of RPG like I feel like once it'll be even
more important after this to recognize that it is a
collection of genres, uh, you know, rather than a country

(02:00:21):
of origin thing, because the flood gates are opening and
we're gonna need a way to collectively refer to this
group of games that we all know, enjoy and love.
So hopefully, hopefully people will stop fighting us on this
because it's it's a phrase we have and it already
exists and it works.

Speaker 1 (02:00:40):
I want to tell you, and maybe we'll end a
story with this. But the funniest post that someone shared
with me on Twitter on this whole thing was someone
posting something and I'm sorry, I don't I can't remember
who wrote this, but I thought it was absolutely hilarious.
He said, yeah about it about Expedition thirty. I'm just

(02:01:02):
so tired of people arguing rhetor or not. This is
a JRPG. We all know this is the jit RPG.
And I was like, up, there you go, there you go, Derek, Derek,
I nailed it right. That clears that industry new section

(02:01:28):
for tonight. If you guys enjoy our discussion on the
industry and things of that nature, please be sure to
give us a thumbs up and tell your friends about
us and come back and you know, have these discussions
with us. I'd like to see what you guys think,
and also putting the comments on some things that's been
bothering you with some insights you might have. We'd love

(02:01:50):
to be able to read that as well.

Speaker 2 (02:01:52):
Definitely, Yeah, I gotta dust off this button on my
on my stream deck. Here there we go.

Speaker 1 (02:02:01):
You got it.

Speaker 2 (02:02:02):
That's okay.

Speaker 1 (02:02:02):
There we go, switch out to the last scene and
then oh are we Yeah? Yeah, I switched us. No, no, no,
the the windows.

Speaker 2 (02:02:14):
Oh that's right. I need to show actually what you're
talking about.

Speaker 1 (02:02:17):
Huh wow.

Speaker 2 (02:02:19):
Okay, all right, let's do this. Where's this one?

Speaker 1 (02:02:22):
Here we go but uh is that big enough for you?
Is that good?

Speaker 3 (02:02:27):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (02:02:27):
Zooming a bit more?

Speaker 1 (02:02:28):
Because how about now?

Speaker 2 (02:02:30):
Look, i'd say one hundred and fifty percent if you could. No,
there you go, that's that's a bit better. Oh right.

Speaker 1 (02:02:37):
The last thing that we're going to talk about, which
ironically we're just talking about the tariff. Uh, this is
the I don't well, they they do say free shipping worldwide.
So we'll see the UK's pin Box, which if you
guys are a Trails fan, you probably know this company already.

(02:02:58):
Pin Box has been making lots of like enamel pins
for the series and they've just been light. They just
licensed the right to create this thing called the Bracer
Supply Box for one hundred and ninety nine pounds, which
translate to like about two hundred and seventy dollars US,

(02:03:20):
which is pretty hefty. Uh free Uh. The pre order
will open until May twenty ninth, and there will be
no reprints. And given that as pin Box, I do
believe them because they are pretty good about that, unlike
certain other cosh This is obviously very pricey, you know,

(02:03:42):
and I know it is very pricey. I'm looking at
the price, like oh almost three hundred dollars. Yikes, Like, hey, dang,
that is expensive, but there are always some big trails
fans out there with deeper pockets than myself, who just
looks at that and like, yeah, give me ten. So

(02:04:03):
what does this actually come with? An Ortman replica, which
I think is su my gosh, look at this.

Speaker 2 (02:04:11):
I'm I'm I'm pulling it up on my computer so
I can show it even bigger.

Speaker 1 (02:04:15):
Oh my god, replica of the Ortman guys. It also
comes with a set of magnetic quarts full sized replica
of Estelle's bag, which you can see down here, this
bag and you can just run around like I'm a Stelle.
Uh herd enamel pins of course there is, because this

(02:04:36):
is pin box. Of course you get pins. The staff
Oh no, oh dude. That the staff spins, which is
really fun. You can like the badge and that the
staff and his spins in her in her hand. God. Really,
there's a convent map somewhere.

Speaker 2 (02:04:54):
Yeah, canvas map in the center. I'm looking at that.

Speaker 1 (02:04:57):
And then there is the three D dire I'm a
standy which looks really good. Uh of the like key
art for Trails in the sky. First, the remake and
also like a set of eight art prints. Uh, some
decorative box uh, some more key chains that I didn't
even know. This is a Gates a gatte I got

(02:05:19):
Agate Yeah, agate Agate.

Speaker 2 (02:05:22):
Uh huh.

Speaker 1 (02:05:22):
It's like it's it's like the the the jewel or
gym or whatever it's yeah. So yeah, and also these
like so you can actually swap in and out the
the courts uh Inportman, So they have additional ones they
can swap them in.

Speaker 2 (02:05:37):
Oh my god. And they're and they're magnetic and they're
magnetic slots in the Oh my god, heart friends.

Speaker 1 (02:05:45):
Yeah. So there you go, you know, just no big deal.
Oh and also like it comes with the Bracers notebook.

Speaker 2 (02:05:53):
Oh yeah yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:05:55):
Uh huh lots of little memorabilia that people love. Uh yeah,
it's only I need it. But it's free shipping, so
you know, they worry about shipping shipping.

Speaker 2 (02:06:06):
So so what happens if I order this now? And
when do they ship? Like what's all the fall? Oh
my god?

Speaker 1 (02:06:18):
I mean it's pin box, Like it's not like a
run by like they have made a lot of they
made a lot of Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:06:26):
I think you're misunderstanding, but my my problem is not
that it's so far away, or that I don't trust them.
It's just that I don't know what the tariff is
going to be when they ship, and if I'm gonna I.

Speaker 1 (02:06:40):
Don't know how to help you, sir. I don't know
how to help you. It just it just struck home
that I need this. I do need That's also Joshua's
a knife. It's also Joshua's knife is also there's a

(02:07:00):
keycha the key chain there, yep, yeah, I saw them
both there. There's like two key chains, so nice and
a bunch of things. Two key change.

Speaker 2 (02:07:10):
I'll tell you man, if I can get this for
under three hundred dollars, oh god, it's it's it's it's tough,
but I do want it. But like if it was
like four hundred or five hundred, like hell no, but.

Speaker 1 (02:07:25):
I want to if they can slap the game in
like this would be the crazy limited edition set that
like that I wanted. Yeah, yeah, this is the set
that that this beats all other limited editions, like right
here at this, I mean, luckily.

Speaker 2 (02:07:41):
This is well I don't know. I was gonna say
this would be coming from from the UK, but I
doubt it's all being made in the UK. Huh, yeah,
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:07:52):
See, that's the thing. I don't know how much of
that is made in UK and how much of it
is made elsewhere. Right, it doesn't have to be It's
here's the thing. It doesn't have to be made in China.
It could be made in Vietnam or made in some
other Southeast Asian country with like lower uh you know,

(02:08:13):
fees or or what have you. That's the other thing
that I forgot to mention. I had it in my head,
which is in the future, we may farewell just have
things that are just like made out not in China,
but still not in the US. Like this whole teriffy
war thing has just benefited like literally any other country
other than the two involved. We'll still buy stuff, it

(02:08:36):
just won't be not every other country. I happen to
know a island of penguins that has been very heavily hit.
Oh they're getting hit hard. Oh my god. Those penguins
are dying because of the terroriffs.

Speaker 2 (02:08:52):
Man. They are also also because of climate change, but
mostly the terriffs.

Speaker 1 (02:08:56):
Mostly, yeah, mostly the tariffs is Oh, the terrof's gonna
do thos pour penguins in Yeah, god dang it.

Speaker 2 (02:09:03):
And and I am dying now too because I can't
get myself that orbal replica because I because I I
don't know what to even do with myself.

Speaker 1 (02:09:13):
It does, it, It does.

Speaker 2 (02:09:16):
So let's let's shift gears. WHOA, hang on, well, no,
that's the wrong button. Let's let's shift gears now to
uh talking about super chats that we've gotten here, because
we didn't get a couple. Okay, yeah, so let's let's
start here with uh with Nattichus here, who says just
a friendly reminder because of the title hype responsibly, thank

(02:09:40):
you so much. Yeah, yeah, I agree. I mean a
lot of our dreams did come true here. You know,
we got a new great RPG that I have yet
to play. You know. That's that's one of them, right there.
Uh breath of Fire for that's out the gott a
shadow drop that. That's two things right there. That's two dreams.

(02:10:03):
The third didn't didn't end up being real, not not
yet anyways. But as as the the late and Great
meat Loaf once said, two out of three ain't bad.

Speaker 1 (02:10:17):
Yeah, yeah, I concur.

Speaker 2 (02:10:22):
All right. Then we got another one here from Still Alive.
Thank you so much. For being here still alive. It says, Uh,
the end goal, I hear is for all those minimum
wage factory jobs is just to just be replaced by
AI and robots anyway, so that the people at the
very top is so for the people at the very top,

(02:10:43):
it's so what you know, talking about your when you
were talking about the the end game, like of trying
to like who's going to man the factories? Nobody? Who
in all the money? Yeah, probably the people who own
those factories, right, not the people who are having to

(02:11:03):
pay for those tariffs on things. Anyways. It's it's all,
it's all bad, but hey, on the bright side, soon
we get to figure out how much worse things can get.

Speaker 1 (02:11:19):
You know, robots don't complain, they don't need vacations. They
work twenty four hours a day, and they will never
sue you.

Speaker 2 (02:11:28):
You see, well not until the robots get their own
bill of rights.

Speaker 1 (02:11:35):
That they have they formed their own unions.

Speaker 2 (02:11:38):
Did you ever see the the anime Trix. No, a
lot of people didn't, But it's like the after the
original Matrix movie came out, there was like an animated
prequel called the Animatrix.

Speaker 1 (02:11:53):
That's a that's a clever name.

Speaker 2 (02:11:55):
It's it's actually kind of neat worth worth the worth
of a watch. I think it's it was done before
the prequels, I think, or the sequels rather, and all
in all, it's probably a little bit more interesting than
those sequels ended up being, except for the third or

(02:12:18):
the fourth one. Yeah, yeah, the Matrix. What was the
latest one where they got you know, post John Wick.

Speaker 1 (02:12:28):
I watched the first movie and then I just kind
of like fell out.

Speaker 2 (02:12:32):
I kind of really liked the new one, the newest
one that came out. What is it still new or
is I don't even remember now, Matrix it's.

Speaker 1 (02:12:42):
Like the Fine Revenue, like within the last twenty.

Speaker 2 (02:12:45):
Years, or within like the last five years, within the.

Speaker 1 (02:12:49):
Last five years. Yeah, they got Thedea.

Speaker 2 (02:12:51):
Yeah, it was really good. I can't remember what it's
called though. Anyways. Anyways, guys, thank you for hanging out
with us today. It has been a pleasure to stream
