Speaker 1 (00:04):
That was an idea. I felt like I was gonna say, kid,
I'm not sure what to do with my hand. You
have a part of my attention. You have the minimum amount.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
What name?
Speaker 1 (00:14):
Who are you steal? Some men just want to watch
the world bun. Let's see a drinking one. Is that
because you think you're fat?
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Let's rock.
Speaker 4 (00:25):
Let's rock today.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
I think I've been here for thirteen years. Actually, I
think you predate me by a bit. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (00:32):
I started in two thousand and six.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
And I don't think this has ever happened. No, for
the first time in sports radio and KJR history, we
have a podcast featuring every on air producer from the station.
Let's go the people that get paid to talk?
Speaker 5 (00:49):
Have we do it for free?
Speaker 1 (00:54):
All right, let's go through it. Jackson Felts, Andrew's first
Christopher Kid, Jessin McIntyre, you've heard on Hollywood Weekly before,
and introducing for the first time on this movie and
TV podcast, Miss Ashley ryan.
Speaker 6 (01:07):
Ich for myself, we need a hole. I love that
you guys are like, come on the movie podcast. I'm like, great,
I'm the worst movie watcher in the history of the world.
Speaker 5 (01:17):
We're gonna talk about Blue Crush.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
A really good movie album.
Speaker 5 (01:24):
Yeah, it's a great one. Yeah, I like that one.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
We are not three, we are not four. We are
five sports radio producers who finally have a podcast to
talk about something other than sports. This is Hollywood Weekly.
We talk about all things movies and TV, and this
is going to be an all timer because we have
five people on the pod. Today. We have a special
draft coming up of franchises movie entertainment franchises, and I'm
(01:49):
gonna do something right now, and it's an executive decision.
I don't care if anybody says it isn't fair. I
think it's very fitting that we have the five of
us here. We have three guys and two girls for
a movie franchise draft. Chris knows about this, so Chris,
you're ineligible for this contest. I think it's I think
it's very fitting that we have the five of us
(02:10):
here of the male and female variety, because there is
a franchise that I think will get drafted tonight that
very prominently features three men two women in a team
action series started in the nineties. First person to get
what franchise I'm talking about gets to pick their draft
spot for the draft. To Night franchise started with a
(02:31):
TV series in the nineties, Actionly five. There's no three
three guys, two girls, and I tried to go to
the team. No, Chris's Jackson was like, there's no girl
features five. I wouldn't say. They're teenagers with young adults,
maybe teenagers baby. That was actually closing three men and
(02:58):
a baby.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
There's a woman involved in the baby and the babies.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
That I'm just gonna let that dangle and if somebody
so can we find can we just like randomize it?
Speaker 6 (03:09):
Honestly, have no idea it's actually yeah, it's actually arranges.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Yes, I said, Anderson got it Power Power Rangers getting drafted. Chris,
that's that's very well. Get drafted late because I said,
I said, I said, it's probably not on the board,
and that's what Chris said. And it's a really powerful
one man thinking on board.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Think about when you were a kid, would you want
to be I don't want to be the Purple Power Ranger.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
I just baby kids who Rangers made it?
Speaker 1 (03:38):
It sounded good. Everybody wanted to be the Red Ranger.
I was the Red Ranger.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Remember what I wanted to be outside of the color
of the powers. But I knew I wanted to be one.
I was like, can I get can I get on
the movie? I wanted to be Darth Vader.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
That was like too much Spandex, too much FANDIX.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
That's what you're worried about. I'm a woman, of course,
not at thirteen blax. You're probably like twenty when it
came in.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (03:59):
We were babysitting kids who wanted to watch Power.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Yeah. For me, it was like, oh my gosh, So whoever,
when we put the poll out, if if someone does
have that team, it'd be what thirty three because it's
the first series three? And then they the most recent
thing was a movie that came out in twenty sixteen
or seventeen. I thought it was halfway decent, so Paul
Rangers and it would get our vote.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
When else he'd be like, yeah, no, so Andrews, you
get to choose where you draft first overall, first overall.
Speaker 5 (04:31):
Shocked you would pick that?
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Actually, oh wait, I can I change that? No, you can't.
One of the franchas. I'll go last, I'll go second.
I'm gonna go second, Okay, Anders will go second overall,
and we'll randomize the other four of us coming up
for the franchise draft later on. I don't know if
you could do a poll on this one. Are we
gonna be able to We'll figure it out.
Speaker 6 (04:54):
Okay, you can just leave mine out. I promise it
won't win. You probably will in spite of it. I mean,
there's always that chance. But you know, like the girl
that fills out the NC two A bracket just based
on the mascot.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
Yeah, wait, do you say NC two A?
Speaker 5 (05:10):
I did?
Speaker 6 (05:11):
I don't because I have Do you normally say that? No?
I don't think I've ever said it in my life.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
And see two A sounds like a video game. We're
doing this in honor of James Bond essentially dying, because
news came out that Amazon has spent over a billion
dollars to acquire the James Bond production rights from the
normal Eon production company Barbara Broccoli, who had James Bond
franchise since the sixties, the twenty five movies. That's been
(05:39):
a long long road, but they sold out and they
sold it for a billion dollars, And in honor of
that franchise dying, we will draft franchises, something we've been
wanting to do. I mean, Anders, you had the idea
what last October for this, but now it's just kind
of perfect timing for this draft.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
Yeah, especially with you know, the news that James Bond
is following the footsteps of Lord of the Rings and
dying on our hands. As as they get drafted into
TV movies.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Do you end up seeing the animated I know you
love animation, the animated Lord of the Rings.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
I actually didn't the War of the roll hear them,
Oh no, the new one. People hated it. No, it's
it's it's Actually what I've seen is it had super
mixed reviews when it first came out, and it didn't
do well in the box office, but then when it
got released on stream and it actually gained like a
whole new audience, Like a lot of people are starting.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
To like it a lot more.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
You haven't watched it, seen it, and but it's on
my list, like it's I tried to watch it on
my way down to l A a couple of weeks ago,
but Max didn't let me download it, which is stupid.
Speaker 5 (06:42):
I was like, who's Max? Who is Max?
Speaker 1 (06:53):
We should stopped to quickly mention it, Ashley that we
were told no swearing, but once an episode we all swear.
I mean, no, you've you've dropped a couple of close ones,
but you go in the more sexual round exactly. Chris
is kidding me.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
I'm surprised by that.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Yes, just two weeks ago. It was crazy.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
I know, I was trying to low five him and
not where his hands are.
Speaker 6 (07:21):
Thank god, I heart doesn't have an hr A D.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
It was.
Speaker 5 (07:27):
It was actually give me, give me your ass.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
And doesn't come with a paper.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
That's why I know it doesn't actually probably would be. No,
that's not possible. I'm an unpaid therapist without a degree.
Speaker 5 (07:43):
That's fun.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Okay, yeah, I need to explain that.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
You kind of smiled. I was like, I'm sorry, it's
too late, and then she just swears more than anybody
on this podcast.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
No, I do drop.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
The first time I invited myself to join and I
dropped an S bomb and I was like.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Are you saying S bombs?
Speaker 5 (08:05):
Does that suck?
Speaker 1 (08:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (08:06):
That's fair, Yeah, suck is not suck.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Yeah, okay, so we're doing that franchise draft. Later on,
we of course will go over you know, various things
going on and what we've been watching let's start with
We always start with kind of, you know, any news
that's out there, And obviously there's the Amazon James Bond news,
which by the way, came after a very embarrassing Oscars tribute,
(08:33):
which is poor timing all around anyway. Uh. The other
big news is the trailer front and that comes with
Leelo and Stitch, which is being made into a live
action movie coming out here in a few months, of course,
animated classic for Disney. Anders. I'm just gonna let you
have the floor to go off on how angry you
are that this is happening.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Yeah, Ashley, since you're new, I'm I'm the huge proponent
of animation, and I hate anything that's animated that gets
remade into a live action Okay, I like that, Yeah,
even if it like ends up being an okay movie.
Speaker 7 (09:07):
I just I go off angry. Why Okay, I know
I have to actually naturally build myself up here, so
I just think it doesn't get taken Seriously. I'm not
even mad at these studios. I've said this a couple
of times.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
I'm mad at the people who refuse to watch animated
stuff because it's animated, and then when they make it
into a live action be like, oh, okay, actually kind
of want to go see it now? You are you
have no imagination? Like, who are you?
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Like?
Speaker 4 (09:35):
It makes no sense. They tried to do it with Avatar,
it failed miserably. They tried to do it again with Avatar,
and it failed miserably once again. The only thing, the
only time it's actually somewhat worked is I guess you
could say the Jungle Book.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
That's the one that I like.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
It's fine, I still like the original. She is not
a huge fan.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
Like I'm in Andrew's court.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
You can't tell me that you gained anything from that
that you didn't get from the first one. I don't
understand it anyways. This is just another example of something
that I love and I loved as a kid, and
I still hold near and dear to my heart in
Lelo and Stitch, and I think it's actually one of
the most underrated Disney movies out there. And it's just
(10:20):
gonna get ruined. It's gonna get ruined, and I'm afraid
the one is that is gonna either make it or
break it for this situation is the uh how to
Train Your Dragon? And I think that has the most
potential to be like, Okay, this could be something that's
more than what we had in the original. But the
original was so damn good. And I still have a
(10:42):
feeling that like, not a lot of people have seen it,
especially adults, because it's came out in the last fifteen years,
and it's super mature, It has great music. It's just
a really good story. Which is funny because my favorite thing,
and I've always talked about this almost every episode is
Lord of the Rings. And you know what was the
first thing to come out for Lord of the Rings?
Animation original animated original seventies or eighties, seventies, And I
(11:06):
think that is personally an outlier because it was like
really long ago. And that's the difference is when it's
bad at first and they remake it to make it better,
then okay, I can, I can. I can dance with
you on that one. But if it's really good originally,
there's just no reason to make another one.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Has anybody seen in a live action version of an
animated film that they actually like? Moses Jones, there's a
live action of that.
Speaker 6 (11:32):
I'm messing with you, guys, what I was gonna say,
I've never seen a live action of a animated film because.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Disney has tried so many. So you haven't seen the
remake of Beauty and the Beast. Nope.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
I just watched that recently, Watson.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
I actually thought it was good, but it didn't supersede
the movie or the original.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
I hate it. It was good.
Speaker 6 (11:51):
It was good, I will say, for some reason in
my head when I think of a live action that's
remade or that a cartoon animated that's made into a
live action, for some reason, I was thinking all had
to be animal stuff, which.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
I'm like, no, I've never seen.
Speaker 7 (12:03):
Them.
Speaker 6 (12:04):
All I think about like Lion King and all sorts
of animal movies Lelo and Stitch. So I was like, no,
I've definitely never seen one. I probably have now that
I think about it. I mean, I just didn't think
that it was I like The Beast, and I.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Think it was fine, but like I think the Jungle
Books the only one that does it did it good?
And even that's like on the edge. But I will say,
for all the hate you have, did you watch the trailer?
Speaker 4 (12:25):
No? Well, okay, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
As a Lelo and Stitch fan, I love the original.
Speaker 4 (12:30):
This looked good, Okay, so this is where you and
I differ because I'm a Letho and Stitch fan, So
I will watch the originals for my entire being. I
don't care how good people say the new one is.
I will never watch that one. Like I'm not someone
who needs more content. I am a less is more guy.
Don't ruin it, don't make it worse, don't try and
(12:50):
change things. Star Wars did this, and we'll probably get
to this at our draft at some point. The more
they may, the worse it got. Like it's just it.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Gets too over dial and I just hate it.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
If you like it so much, watch the one that
you like.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
So question this comes from courtesy of my wife. By
the way, If How to Train Your Dragon does very
well and the trailer it's honestly it's it's shot for
shot of the original, like they are going just to it,
I don't get it. So my question is this, actually
my wife's question is this, Thank you, Risa. If How
to Train Your Dragon does really well, which I mean
(13:26):
it's getting a lot of you know, promo and and
stuff that it will do well, then will DreamWorks follow
Disney and do live action Shrek, Live Action Crew, Live
action everything? Panda we'll, we'll, we'll DreamWorks say we're gonna
follow the Disney route and also live action all of
our animated products. God, I hope not, but what wouldn't
it make sense?
Speaker 4 (13:46):
Not to me, it will make it would make sense
for them, Like financially, I don't even blame the studios
because they know they're gonna make a ton of money
on this. Yeah, they're gonna make a buttload of money
on this, So like that's that's all their incentive is.
And I get that they're a business. Whatever do that.
I The people on the people I'm mad at are
(14:06):
the people that refuse to watch the original because it's
animated and it just it.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
I hate it.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
I hate it. I hate it. Take animation more seriously.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Oh you feel like it's taking down the value of animated.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Yeah, okay, A.
Speaker 4 (14:20):
Lot of people see it as like just for kids
like it like and they don't. Again, they won't take
it seriously because it's animated, and I won't take the
live action seriously.
Speaker 6 (14:30):
If that makes you feel better, thank you, because I
just think like when you're talking about like the Jungle Book,
I'm like, so, who was dressed up like the bear?
Speaker 1 (14:39):
That's so true c G.
Speaker 6 (14:41):
I was like, who's playing the dragon?
Speaker 5 (14:46):
And how do you write on.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
Questions that need answer? All?
Speaker 5 (14:51):
As I was listening, I was like, I have so
many actually.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
And and it's it's totally emotion cap perfect.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
These are all the things that I was So I'm
with you, Ashley, like I don't take them seriously either.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
I just want well, I guess I'm the only one
who will be seeing Lelo and Stitch live action and
then I'll report back.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
So you cannot recreate Nanny. I'm sorry, Like it's just impossible.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Yeah, well, okay, it would Okay.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
Here's where I'll i'll kind of differ with it is
if it was a different story. If you're giving me
something new, like new, not a remake, I.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
Would be okay with that.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
Like just out of the top of my head, say,
they made the original Lord of the Rings, the original
Lord of the Rings, right and like recently, and it
was really good, it was really popular. And then they
came out and did live action of the Hobbit, like okay,
those are it's.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
A news story.
Speaker 4 (15:44):
Like it's even though they wanted to change the medium
on it, like okay, fine, Like I'm I'm all for
that it's not just a flat out cut and paste
with live action like and that's what kind of gets
me on it.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
Are you gonna watch the live action How to Train
Your Dragon? That one?
Speaker 4 (15:57):
I'm very debating in my head.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
I'll pay for your ticket.
Speaker 6 (16:02):
I mean, all right, yeah, you gotta watch it, because
you gotta tell me who plays the dragon.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
You can probably just look it up on the cast.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Yeah, all right, all right, all right, And I'm telling you,
if that sucks, I refuse to watch any other like
live action remake.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
I won't do it. And also in trailers, we had
a trailer that came out this morning. I didn't have
time to watch it because I'm lame for the new
season of Black Mirror, which turns Netflix on April tenth.
I believe Chris, have you seen the trailer because you're
pumping your fist right now. And I mean, I'm excited.
I love Black Mirror.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
That's one of the weird shows that's always entertaining, and
they always have something good at the end that ties
it back into reality and it makes you wonder. So
I'm excited to see what they do with this one.
I don't know what to expect, but so that they
got brain chips or whatever controlling.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
I'm not sure.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
It looks like it could take another level, like, oh
my gosh, Black Mirror does it yet again?
Speaker 1 (16:53):
Okay, so I'm excited to see what they can do.
Yeah on Netflix, that's all. I like. About a month.
We're a real short time away. Okay, let's get into you,
you Ted Lasso. Yeah, okay, that's what you're going to
bring up, you man? You know back? What do you
because Richards Penn Badgeley new season is also next month. Yeah,
(17:15):
so during the draft thoughts, I'm excited. Joe Goldberger, what's you?
Oh my gosh, I'm serious. Okay, I know that's why
we all stopped ladies.
Speaker 5 (17:26):
Going like the Best Talker Show.
Speaker 6 (17:30):
Yeah, he's so incredibly creepy and really good at being creepy,
but then you somehow end up sympathizing with him, which
then makes you want to punch the television.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
He couldn't be more perfect. It evokes all the emotions.
It's really good, and he's a very good looking guy
that is playing someone who apparently shouldn't be that good looking.
Speaker 5 (17:47):
And then the.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
Basically, if you look good, you can do heinous things,
and people will feel.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Apparently that makes you nervous as a woman when you
see that.
Speaker 5 (17:58):
It's just like it is, have you done?
Speaker 6 (18:00):
Wonder if he'll lock me in a book sellers?
Speaker 3 (18:04):
And I don't even think he's that well bred.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
And also a great narrator too. I think he should
have played like I think you would. I know you
very sickeningly. I don't like sickening.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
It's it's not very It's like it's an extremely unique
it's not gross.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
It's more mystery thriller.
Speaker 6 (18:29):
And I will tell you the best thing about it
is every season it comes back and you're like, there's
no way that he can continue. And I'm going to
be hooked this season because there's no way that this
can keep going.
Speaker 5 (18:39):
And then the twist happens and you're like, how the
f did they just do that?
Speaker 1 (18:45):
Should watch season one together? This is the final sea.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
I have a married friend who's a man who told
me that after watching one season of that, they it
like seriously messed them both up mentally. Yeah, they were like, Okay,
that didn't You'll be fine.
Speaker 5 (19:04):
It's entertained.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
I don't like the creepy stuff. Not creepy. It seems
like it you don't talk about a stalker who you know?
It's how they do it though, because it's not creepy.
But you're right exactly, Rewind.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
I don't stalk my wife. Really, really, what is it?
What is the definition of stalking?
Speaker 1 (19:25):
I don't know your social media? Like, hey, what do
you do?
Speaker 4 (19:28):
I don't even have Instagram.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
There's other social media out there. It's more than Instagram.
But you don't stalk her.
Speaker 5 (19:33):
So it's really, wait, do you stalk your fiance my wife?
Speaker 1 (19:36):
Hell? Yeah, about what you have too? I've all been
to business. You kidding me?
Speaker 5 (19:39):
Oh yeah, you guys got married, didn't you.
Speaker 8 (19:41):
Oh yeah, you're the only guy that doesn't do that.
I just said I didn't know. Chris just said, no problem.
But I do not stalk my husband.
Speaker 5 (19:51):
I don't pay attention at all. Usually I'm like, oh god.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
He's not here.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
Maybe that's how she feels about me, because like move on,
move on please?
Speaker 1 (20:02):
So yeah, you final season coming out next month five
dollars towards it is that an official final? Like they're
wrapping it up season. I won't even I won't even
spoil what happens in the trailer because they do you
know what I hate when trailers clearly spoil where they're
going in a season, and the trailer very clearly spoils
what's gonna happen this season. Watching you and it's like,
(20:23):
don't if you don't, I'm kind of watching and said, great, thanks,
I'll pick it up on the final episode because now
I know where you're going. Thanks for showing me all
but one episode.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
You know what, because we all in this room think
like producers. I used to ruin reality shows for everyone
can see at my at another job, I would be like, no, no,
hold on, I watched one trailer and I can tell
you every single episode that's gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
And you know, I'm a big reality TV fan and
I've been able to do that on like Traders Amazing Race,
and it's really frustrating.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
Well you just know, and I'm like if it's just
so obvious to me, but it's not to everybody because
we think like producers.
Speaker 6 (20:58):
Well, there's also people that think, like, none of it's
actually produced and it's just actual reality.
Speaker 5 (21:03):
Oh come on, who does that?
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Like people?
Speaker 6 (21:07):
There are people that there's also people that listen to
certain morning shows and think that that's all real.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
This is great for first time of her talking about
her show.
Speaker 5 (21:21):
No, not mine. I'm right there with you holding the rifle.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
So let's quickly before we get to what we're watching.
Have the ted Lasso Conversation people announced on Friday morning,
as we record here on March fourteenth, season four is happening.
Jason Sedakis, who of course plays ted Lasso the star
Saturday Night Live formerly also announced on the Jason and
Travis Kelcey podcast New Heights that it will be featuring
(21:51):
ted Lasso coaching a women's team. Reports are that that
women's team will be the AFC Richmond Women's Team. It
will feature a lot of the original cast, including Roy Kent,
including Rebecca, including Keiley, a lot of the original characters
returning in terms of what they do with the AFC
Richmond programs and how do you raise a hand who
(22:12):
watches ted Lasso in here? I think we all but Chris,
you don't watch you. We're even that is not even
close to even This kind of is a cultural phenomenon,
ted Lasso, it really being in sports. Let's just start
and let me just throw this out there and we'll
go around the room with the fact that I think
that when They had a great three season arc and
(22:34):
brought the end to the character of ted Lasso returning
to Kansas, rebuilding his family, being back in his kids life,
and it came full circle. They should have stopped there.
And this is a great example of money getting in
the way of what was and has been a great story.
So we'll go around the room. Jess, We'll start with you, Okay.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
Well, I think that just introducing a whole different thing,
because the whole idea was a concept derived from a
commercial of him just being a dipstick football guy coaching,
talking soccer, and then it became this beautiful story. I
thought the writers did a phenomenal job with that show
(23:12):
and introducing him to a new element. It's not a
different sport, but it's a new element bringing women into it.
I think it adds a lot more storylines, So I'm
not opposed to it.
Speaker 4 (23:24):
I'm actually not opposed to it either. But this is
this big, big, big butt for me. They should have
called it something else, because the story of ted Lasso
is over. If they made it like a new TV
show at like a whole new beginning, whole new end,
I would be all for AFC. Richmond, Oh yeah, yeah, like, yeah,
that's a great, great example.
Speaker 5 (23:42):
But it could be a franchise. I mean you might
say the.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Movie, yeah yeah, yeah, but oh it's only movies.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
No think.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
I think for a fan, I think for a franchise
to be a franchise, it has to at some point
include a movie I have.
Speaker 5 (23:56):
To amend in my list.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Okay, AnyWho, we'll continue on that later.
Speaker 4 (24:02):
I me with my whole animated conversation. I don't feel
like I need more. I feel like it wrapped up. Yeah,
and I'm again usually a less is more person, and
I rewatch things, especially if they're really good. So I'll
just rewatch the first three seasons of ted Lasso. I
would feel so much different about this if it was
just considered a whole different show. Like you know how
(24:24):
they go back to Friends here, but they ended the
Friends thing and they didn't have an extra season of Friends.
They had an extra season of Joey and it sucked.
But like that's kind of the point, is like they
started it, and no one associates that with the show.
So I hope that's what they are. Wish that's what
they did with this.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Scrubs were Scrubs. Suddenly they became the teachers and it
was a different show in the Yeah, Ashley, go ahead.
Speaker 6 (24:45):
I'm excited for it because I do love the show,
and I do think that, yeah, you had to at
least change the team, because you can't have him all
of a sudden decide to leave Kansas and go back
to the exact same thing. I do think that, And
I could be crazy in my thought here, but I
think that they were inspired by Welcome to Wrexham because
the female team and Welcome to Wrexham is starting to
be such a big storyline and I wonder if that,
(25:08):
like the success that that show is having and the
success showing the women is kind of driving this.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
I don't know, it's a good point. And also sports, Yeah,
the rise in women's sports is so gigantic and you
can't ignore that. And I think I think obviously Jason
Sedeikis is very aware that. I think he was in
attendance for a bunch of Caitlin Clark games, so I think.
Speaker 5 (25:30):
Oh, yeah, he's a big Iowa fan.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
Can we have a quick ted lasto conversation just independent
of the because we haven't talked about it yet on
this How great is it? I?
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Mean, I have it as my number hold on which
sore you aware of my list? By the way, I
have a list of the one hundred and twenty five
shows I've ever seen. Oh and I have ted last
so at number five overall. Oh wow, Oh that's high.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
Yeah, how high do you rank it like on yours?
Speaker 5 (25:54):
Well, I've never made a list of the amount of
shows in your head.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
It ain't top ten. It sounds like I Jesus Christopher, Wow,
I don't.
Speaker 5 (26:03):
I mean, I don't know it.
Speaker 6 (26:05):
It'd be in my top twenty for sure, but I
would have to actually, like go and you know, write
down a list and think about this because.
Speaker 5 (26:11):
I got a lot of TV watching it.
Speaker 6 (26:16):
Up there though, right, Oh yeah, you have taste, you
could taste in TV shows.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
Yeah, that's part of a couple of your favorite shows.
Shows shows.
Speaker 6 (26:26):
Well, I loved Homeland that's gone though, Are you wanting
current shows?
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Okay?
Speaker 5 (26:31):
I loved Game of Thrones.
Speaker 6 (26:33):
Dexter was awesome, awesome, and I love that they keep
going to spin off, spin off, spin off. I'm obsessed
with all of it. Let me think i feel like
I'm under pressure now.
Speaker 5 (26:42):
Friends was phenomenal.
Speaker 6 (26:43):
Yeah, I got hooked on Gray's Anatomy and then realized,
I it sucked stopped that and they should have known
a long time ago to end that show. And I
used to just yell at TV because they pretend they
were filming in Seattle. And I remember one time, specifically,
our old building was on TV, yeah, and it was
showing a fire on the freeway and I'm like, that's
(27:05):
the effing shanty and our building.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
This is a freeway. That's Ellie, that's actually hilarious. I
didn't know that at all.
Speaker 6 (27:14):
Oh my god, I'm so mad. And this was before
I was a producer too. But no, I just I
really like like suspenseful ones, recent ones I've been I've
been a big fan of Night Agent.
Speaker 5 (27:26):
That's a good one.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Suspenseful shows. Christopher loves Night Agent. It's a great show.
I have never watched Let's let's transition because we're talking
about suspenseful show. Is this perfect transition? Yeah? Have you
seen Paradise? Wait?
Speaker 4 (27:41):
What have you seen Paradise? Not?
Speaker 1 (27:42):
This is going to be a tough conversation to have
with her here.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Oh no, we cannot spoil it. Just watch it because
it's so good. I refuse to spoil.
Speaker 4 (27:52):
We can we can generally talk about our feelings about
the family.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
I didn't either until talking. Let's just do this really
really quick. Okay, this is a very suspenseful show. There
are three main characters. It is a billionaire, is the
President of the United States, and is the head of
the Secret Service. The show centers around these three people.
There is a murder and it becomes a murder mystery
on top of about a one hundred other mysteries, and
it develops into the suspense of all suspense show.
Speaker 5 (28:20):
And what where can I find this show?
Speaker 2 (28:23):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (28:23):
Okay, all eight episodes are out. I'd really love it.
Five minute conversation about now they're in drink five minutes,
five minutes, just five minutes. We don't want to spoil it.
What is? What is back? This is? This is maybe
(28:44):
the best new show of maybe the last year plus.
I don't know. All right, Jess fin Anders, Chris Saxon,
we've all finished. This is very briefly. For the next
five minutes, spoilers for the entire first season of Paradise. Spoiler.
All right, we did a twenty minute podcast. Christy didn't
join three two one spoiler there we go, Anders and
(29:07):
I did about a twenty twenty five minute podcast after
the final episode, so check out that for the thoughts.
Let's just very quickly get the take from the two
people who finished Paradise. We haven't gotten from so Jess
Chris start with you guys, thoughts. Now that Paradise has ended,
we know who the killer is. It's the librarian. Was satisfying, Jess,
it was satisfying. That's that's it for me, that it
(29:30):
was satisfying. Like I didn't I what I said to
you guys, and you know, when we talked about it,
I didn't like the introduction of a new twist in
a new character without more introduction to where that twist
might be coming from ahead of time.
Speaker 5 (29:50):
But I do I do appreciate the fact that there were.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
No Easter eggs for us to go find like, but
it almost it introduced a new storyline in the last episode,
and so I like a twist.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
And I don't feel like that storyline was well done
with the first kind of five minutes the background in his.
Speaker 5 (30:07):
Life in the final episode.
Speaker 3 (30:10):
No, I thought it was amazing, but I wanted more
more of it, and so I wish that that whole
storyline was introduced earlier in the show, and they could
have woven it in, you know, and you know flashbacks
and you could still not know who this guy is,
but how this place was built. I mean all we
got was build me my city. Yeah, and were like, okay,
(30:33):
they have a city, that's it. So I felt like
that could have been woven in a little bit earlier.
I was satisfied, and I felt like enough loose ends
were tied up for me to be okay with not
cliffhanging and also excited for the next season.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
Chris, I loved it, Okay, I really thought it was clever.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
How they the guy that what you saw in the
beginning had a role all the way in the end
and it all made sense.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
It's fine.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
My wife told me, like, okay, we leading into the finale,
she was like, we have to watch the first episode
again because in every single one of these TV shows
they show the killer in the first episode, and sure
and every single one he was And I just loved.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
I know, they didn't developed this character, but you got
to see his story. You know, Ellen love cared about people.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
Yeah, that was really he was. He was in love
with that guy, right, Yeah, they were in love. Shout
just pushing gay in his now our throats. No worries there.
I don't mind it.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
Very very very so all shows, like every show, they
just have a well here, yeah, very subtle.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Yeah, AnyWho, I.
Speaker 5 (31:44):
Thought, and he cared about everyone else.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
Yeah, the whole entire team, like he was basically Winstam
was like, so you want to talk about this and
he lost his job over and they were like, don't
worry about it, man, they'll be okay.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
No, people are geating sick.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
And I just loved how much he cared and you
saw and I get why he did what he did
and not saying it was right, I get it, but
you see the passion and the pain that he went
through while everyone was just breshing him aside. And they're
building this great city and not gonna be a part
of it.
Speaker 4 (32:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
Yeah, I have a new question because I can only
imagine if I'm doing some work and then find out so, yeah,
you're not gonna be a part of it.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
We're just gonna brush you aside after all.
Speaker 5 (32:19):
That are literally going to de bury it under it.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
So you guys are both satisfied with the end of
the season. I have a question and ands I've been
holding onto this question to get your thoughts too, So
this is for the four of us, and then we'll
bring Ashley back in here. Are you Are you more
or less excited for season two then you were after
the end of episode seven, After the end of episode
seven knowing that season two is coming? Are you more
(32:44):
or less excited for what's ahead now than you were
after what we all think was one of the best
episodes of TV in a long time, in episode seven
of the Day that chronicled the day the world ended?
More or less excited? Chris, I'll start with you than
you were then?
Speaker 2 (32:58):
I am excited, but I'm more so, even more excited
to figure out what's Jane doing. She is very confusing.
I'm not gonna lie. I'm like, all right, Sis shot
her in the chest. I'm thinking she's dying and she
shot her perfectly. So it's like, you can have an
incredible comeback, aren't you. It's like, I think Jane has
more power than me even realize, even though something's wrong
with her.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
But I want to know more.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
I'm curious like how her character develops because she's playing
both sides right now, she really is.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
She's jumping back and forth, like, who's gonna catch me?
I am, because there's just so much to know.
Speaker 2 (33:29):
He's I'm pissed because at the end of it, you
don't even see what the world looks like.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
It's just a bright light.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
And I'm like, really, I gotta wait a whole year
or two until I get to see what this place.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
Looks like it cleared apparently, Oh well, even that makes
even more upstating.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
So I'm just excited to see where they take it,
how long it's gonna take from to find his wife.
Then getting back like, there's just why is.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
He going alone? By the way, why is he going
to Atlanta alone?
Speaker 2 (33:52):
You know how black man get down? We trust nobody,
all right, last thing I'm bringing is.
Speaker 4 (34:00):
Why are you leaving the people that you don't trust
with your kids?
Speaker 2 (34:03):
Well, he does trust the dude that messed up the sky,
so he trusts people, so he's not You're not coming,
think about it. I gotta take you with me on
a mission to find my wife. I have to trust
that you're gonna listen to everything I say. Probably not
gonna happen. You're gonna gonna want to do your own thing.
What if you're tired all these other things I ain't
gotta deal with. I'm not getting tired. I'm looking for
my wife. Me and my Andrew are.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
Like, bro, can we take a break?
Speaker 2 (34:27):
This for like three weeks, man, we haven't had a
we haven't even eaten yet. I don't care about that.
I'm trying to find my wife. Interpretation of me.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
Not really you Anderson.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
But in theory, I can only imagine just bringing someone
along and they're going to help you.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
But they're like, hey, Bro, can we like chill for
a minute.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
I I think he just knows that his family is
safer in there than out.
Speaker 5 (34:49):
Is why he's not.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
Bringing Robinson or bringing Rainy. Rainey andrews exactly and I'll
let you answer the question next, and is more or
less excited. But why not bring Rainy?
Speaker 4 (35:00):
That's I don't know. I could see it both sides
With that one. That's not a huge issue for me.
I agree he probably should have taken someone, But I
can also see what Chris is saying, like he it's taxing. Yeah,
bringing someone else can almost be a burden more than
something that helps you, especially in a situation like that.
We've seen him with the last of us.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
Look at my guy Rick Grimes.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
You bring up that's a good boy, rhymes about the
whole community and they all die. Now look at him,
he's washed up and dis sat.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
He had a whole community person. Yeah, well he had well,
he had a whole community. And it's just draining.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
Like you try to do the right thing every single time,
and it gets harder and harder. You make decisions that
are going to change everything. I want to get as
back in here so and can keep it for me.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
I'm less. I'll get her no second to answer first.
Speaker 5 (35:50):
Yeah, well you can answer, and I'm just not going
to listen to you anyways.
Speaker 4 (35:54):
APD, And let's wrap up the plaradise talk. Anyways, Are
you more or less excited than after I have seven?
I am excited because the biggest storyline that I think
was in it for me was the murder of the
president and why it was happening, and then everything surrounding that,
why that whole thing happened. So I do think there's
some gene intrigue. I think there's some him and his
(36:14):
wife intrigue, but the kind of the thing that kept
everything altogether was the murder of the president. Plus I
also think that we probably will get more flashbacks of
cal but I think that his character and Billy's are
my two favorite to watch.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
There's gotta be more Billy ahead.
Speaker 4 (36:30):
I I really hope so. But yeah, I just think
because that storyline's basically done at this point, I'm a
little less excited. I'm not saying I'm not excited for
season two, but I'm definitely less so than at the
end of episode seven, which is weird because I went
into the finale saying I need to know Kuild the president.
So I did everything I wanted it to do. But
(36:52):
at the same time, I'm a little bit less excited
for season two. But I think it wrapped up actually
in a very good way. And I know we chatted
about this on our Immediate Reaction episode. I just want
to say I've watched it again, and the more I
think about it, the more I like it. I had
a little bit different of a reaction than I have
come around to recently. I've grown to like the ending
(37:14):
a lot more so, by the way, okay, because I.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Know I was really down on it, but I've grown
into it too. After watching it again. My wife would
pick up on things and she'd kind of point out
some psychological things and it would kind of go like, oh, Okay,
now I see kind of what they were trying to
do there. But I think ultimately we're all we're all
excited at the various degrees for season two. As Ashley
comes back in and we tell her that game Paradise,
(37:39):
you will finish it this weekend. It's the best new
show on TV in a long time, and it's just treumatous.
I'm not a binger and I binged it.
Speaker 5 (37:46):
Okay, well, we just restarted or the new season of
nineteen twenty three, so we've got that.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
Going right to Harrison. That's not Harrison.
Speaker 6 (37:53):
Harrison and Helen Mirren, right right, all right, Well, that's
that's the whole Paradise thing.
Speaker 1 (37:59):
Let's train pansition into what we've been watching. I'm gonna
quickly start because it kind of ties into Paradise in
the and this isn't giving anything away, but we talked
about how we hoped that Paradise wouldn't go through what
happened with Westworld, where the season one was so so
good and then it just went so downhill from about
mid season two all the way through the end of four,
so much that I got canceled before they even could
(38:21):
finish it up. And I'm not sure if Paradise is
going to go down that road. But I'm a little
bit afraid that Severance on Max Sorry, Severans on Apple
skews me, and also White Lotus on Max that are
there kind of yeah, I don't know where Jess went.
She went to the bathroom, okay again again.
Speaker 5 (38:37):
She said she drank five somethings of water today gallons.
Speaker 1 (38:41):
Jeez.
Speaker 6 (38:42):
Maybe.
Speaker 1 (38:43):
Anyway, so Severance, you watched Severance.
Speaker 6 (38:45):
Or White Lis I watched White Lotus, but I have
not watched the latest season because we changed to Febo
and don't have Max got it.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
So I got to figure that out, and I'll keep
it spoiler free, but I'll just say that that we're
almost at the end of Severance season two, and then
we're halfway through White Lotus season three, and I am
starting to fear they're going the way of Westworld and
they're just trying to go, let's see how much we
can layer on here.
Speaker 4 (39:12):
Far with these shows that like kind of pride themselves
on like blowing your mind, that they keep trying to
just try to blow your mind.
Speaker 1 (39:19):
A little bit harder and like you can only blow
so much. That's what they tell me.
Speaker 4 (39:26):
Jackson couldn't even get through that.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
I knew it. But like, in all honesty, so we're talking,
we're talking White Lotus and Severance. As Jessmin is back,
I am in season so I know what I just
said without any spoilers, is just the fact that I
feel like, you know, where Paradise might or might not
go the way of Westworld, where season one was so
great and then it just falls off like a cliff.
(39:50):
I get the vibe of Severance trying to do West World,
where just is trying to do too much, trying to
expand the storyline, trying to develop mysteries and mysteries and blow.
Speaker 5 (39:59):
To and it's a common problem.
Speaker 1 (40:02):
You're easy, and I just feel like Severance is, at
the end of the day, trying to do too much.
Speaker 3 (40:08):
Well, I feel like, you know, we're I love storylines,
and I feel like they are trying to create more
without creating more. Yeah, yeah, and I like it, but
I don't have the suspense that I was desiring from it,
because to put it, yeah, I'm just like, Okay, I'm
just gonna I'm going to keep watching it. I love
(40:29):
it as I have not started that one yet. No, yeah,
I started it when Mike goes on vacation.
Speaker 5 (40:35):
It's mean time.
Speaker 4 (40:36):
Yeah, and he doesn't like it.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
I know.
Speaker 5 (40:38):
It's just like you gotta have some shows that you
watch by yourself. I can't, yes, like I can't be distracted,
and so I do.
Speaker 6 (40:45):
That's when the well, especially if you like, my husband
travels for work, so we have to have shows we
watch on our own, and then there's certain ones that
I'll put a claim on.
Speaker 5 (40:53):
I'm like, no, we are watching this together. Yes, yeah,
that's Celtics basketball for me. Oh that's a show where
you watched.
Speaker 1 (41:02):
You might as well be. So that's pretty much what
I've been watching. Severance and White Lotus and uh, you know,
I'm just I'm fearful of both of them.
Speaker 3 (41:09):
But yeah, I was just gonna ask how you like
the new season of White Lotus because I haven't started it.
Speaker 1 (41:15):
It's fine. I just I feel like they're just trying
to do a little bit too much and just they're
the first one I'm trying to layer upon layer and
it's just like you know it was. It's it's such
a consolidated show in its own universe each season, and
they're trying to layer the universes on top of each
other and make it a bigger story, and it's like,
you don't need to do that.
Speaker 4 (41:33):
Well, they're all trying to be a Game of Thrones
because that is the king of having multiple storylines going
on at the same time. But the thing that made
that work so well is everyone was invested in every
single storyline.
Speaker 1 (41:46):
Yeah, so that's.
Speaker 5 (41:46):
When there were dragons made it for me.
Speaker 4 (41:50):
That's that too, I mean, but just like, it's so
hard to do that because you keep trying to blow
my mind and eventually people are just gonna be like, Okay, great, great.
Speaker 1 (41:59):
And then just trying to blow too hard. Alright, let's
let's continue. Ashley, you're you're the new person of Hollywood Weekly.
What are you watching on TV these days?
Speaker 5 (42:11):
Well, have you guys watched Reacher?
Speaker 1 (42:13):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (42:13):
On Amazon?
Speaker 1 (42:14):
I've heard of it. Okay, so I had.
Speaker 6 (42:16):
We were season two three, season three, I think right now,
and I when we started it, I was very like,
this is not going to be good because the guy
who's in it, i'd seen him in commercials and he
kind of looks like a cartoon.
Speaker 5 (42:29):
Like a video game character.
Speaker 1 (42:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (42:31):
So I was like, this guy's not even real, is
gonna be awful? It is so good because they're always
after like some bad person. And then his comedic timing
is perfect, Like he just delivers these dry lines.
Speaker 5 (42:43):
And I am a big fan of his.
Speaker 6 (42:45):
I did not expect that coming from him because I
just kind of expected him to be like really dumb,
which was a you know that's.
Speaker 3 (42:51):
Just in.
Speaker 5 (42:54):
Yeah, and he's excellent.
Speaker 1 (42:55):
Dumb ripped guy.
Speaker 5 (42:56):
Yeah, dumb ripped guy, but he's not.
Speaker 1 (42:59):
Ripped. I would give for that body.
Speaker 5 (43:04):
Where he goes and like rips a guy out of
a car or something. And I was like, he is
blowing too.
Speaker 1 (43:08):
Just to be clear, what I would give that body
would have to be that body. We're all just going
to ignore the blow too hardline.
Speaker 5 (43:16):
Yeah, I know that was That's weird.
Speaker 1 (43:18):
I've tried to lay it on thick.
Speaker 5 (43:19):
So I tackled so Reacher.
Speaker 6 (43:22):
We're watching right now, just restarted or just started the
new season of nineteen twenty three. I loved all of
the Yellowstone I mean, eighteen eighty seven was like the
most depressing show I've ever watched in the history of
my entire life.
Speaker 4 (43:33):
No anything in the eighteen hundreds is just going to
be inherently depressed.
Speaker 1 (43:36):
It was.
Speaker 6 (43:37):
I mean it was really good, but you just were like,
oh my god, I feel like I should those people
watching this as those people sucked.
Speaker 5 (43:46):
Yeah, it really did.
Speaker 1 (43:48):
Like the whole thing, the entire.
Speaker 5 (43:50):
Season was just depressing.
Speaker 1 (43:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (43:52):
And and then with a lot of reality TV. We
watch a lot of reality in our house.
Speaker 1 (43:57):
Finally somebody I can talk reality TV with.
Speaker 5 (43:59):
Yes, we watch. I watch almost everything on Bravo Traders.
Speaker 1 (44:02):
Do you watch The Traders?
Speaker 5 (44:03):
Have not watched Traders, the.
Speaker 1 (44:04):
One thing I thought we would be talking about. Wow,
so much for that, Jack.
Speaker 5 (44:08):
I watch all the blow decks.
Speaker 1 (44:10):
I watch.
Speaker 5 (44:13):
A couple of them. I don't watch all of.
Speaker 1 (44:14):
Them, Okay, And because Dolores was on The Traders a
bunch of other houses.
Speaker 6 (44:18):
I don't watch Dance Moms, Southern Charm, Summer House, like
all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 5 (44:24):
I don't watch like The Bachelor or any of that stuff.
Speaker 1 (44:26):
You get along with my my wife because she watches
every single thing you just mentioned.
Speaker 5 (44:29):
Okay, yeah, they're all great.
Speaker 1 (44:32):
She's like because Chrischelle was on The Trader and she.
Speaker 5 (44:35):
Was Okay, so she's on, but that's on Netflix selling Sunset.
That's a great one.
Speaker 1 (44:39):
Okay, don't okay? Well, yeah TV drama rowdy TV is
very good in its place. I feel like, you know,
when you just need something mindless to make it. Rowity
TV can can play, can play a role I think
in daily life. Agreed.
Speaker 5 (44:52):
Yeah, it makes you feel better about yourself sometimes.
Speaker 1 (44:56):
So true. Thank you, thank you, Ashley Christopher. What have
you been watching? I restarted rewatching Luke Cage.
Speaker 2 (45:04):
I'm really disappointed that we never got a season three,
so I'm like, man, this show is really good. Oh well,
and then obviously caught up Daredevil Reborn. They're back with
that after like, yeah, six years, are you liking it?
I didn't remember what happened in the first three seasons,
so I had to go back on you. I to
go on YouTube and watch a series recap for the
first three seasons, like that's what's going on. So now
that I understand everything and remember, it is making sense,
(45:27):
are you enjoying it?
Speaker 1 (45:28):
I am? Because the first episode is like, holy Moly,
this is how we're starting. We're five minutes in Jesus,
can we get a beer? It's crazy?
Speaker 2 (45:36):
And then I'm also watching Invincible, which is I don't
know how it gets better. I'm starting to hate Invincible.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
Kind of like an animated superhero show on Amazon. Right, Yes,
and it's like The Boys but animated. No, it's not
as Boys is gruesome The Boys?
Speaker 2 (45:50):
Yeah, the Boys, And they also find every every season
they find it, they find.
Speaker 1 (45:56):
A way to make it more weird.
Speaker 2 (45:58):
And it's like they're trying the first I don't remember
what happened, but then the second time, he's trying to
blow too hard.
Speaker 5 (46:04):
Yeah they are, they really are.
Speaker 2 (46:05):
That is a great way to ends up inside a
guy's penis hole and then explodes him from the inside.
Speaker 1 (46:10):
And then the following scene he was just trying to
hold on. He was just trying to snort some some
cocaine inside the tip a. It doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
And then I guarantee you when they drop the new one,
it's gonna be something even crazier, Like they just find
a way to say, you know what, Jim, how can
we push the edge?
Speaker 1 (46:28):
I got a good one.
Speaker 2 (46:29):
You should do that, and then they do it. Sounds
like Rick and Morty to me. Honestly, I've never seen Yeah,
that's what I'm watching right now. Okay, okay, nowhere near
the Boy.
Speaker 1 (46:40):
But it's gonna hear your liking Daredevil because that's obviously
one that like, I'm not sure like for me, Like,
I'm a huge Marvel fan. I never watched the original Daredevil,
and I'm not watching this just because there's a there's
too much good TV elsewhere. I'll tell you be like
it seems like an undertaking to kind of catch up on.
Speaker 2 (46:57):
You will enjoy it because you meet the Punisher, you
meet some people You're like, oh, yeah, they do a
really good job.
Speaker 1 (47:03):
Of blending a couple of characters the universe. Oh and
it fits.
Speaker 2 (47:07):
It's not like what they're doing too much. It's like,
well that makes sense, Punisher, what's happening man? And then
you have the Daredevill, like, yo, let's you know, let's
not kill everybody. Like I get things didn't go your way, buddy,
but you can't just mop up one hundred people Like,
that's not what we're going to do on my.
Speaker 1 (47:19):
See John Berenthal, right, yes, great actors.
Speaker 2 (47:21):
Yes, So he continues his role and it's like, oh, snap,
daredel and Punisher, this is crazy and it really is.
Speaker 1 (47:28):
It's you Jackson at Murdoch, John burnhal I.
Speaker 5 (47:31):
Think a bunch of words I've never heard.
Speaker 1 (47:34):
I think you will enjoy Jackson. But that's what I
don't watch. It's just an undertaking man. There's a lot
of good TV. I'm not mad at that. I get it.
It's just a lot, all right, and watching.
Speaker 4 (47:43):
I've started rewatching because season two of both of these
shows are coming out in the next month, and Door
and the last of Us?
Speaker 1 (47:52):
What episode of and Or are you on right now?
I'm on five? How good is episode three?
Speaker 4 (47:58):
The beginning of All Donnie Is? It's the first I mean,
just that's what I'm on right now. That whole sequence
of the third episode into Al Donnie Is. I mean,
that's peak television. It's so good, the getaway and then yeah,
just every everything about that show is so good, and like, yeah,
it's it's I love Stilling scars Guard. He does an
(48:19):
awesome job. I love uh not Petro Pascal. What's the
guy's name, Yeah, Diego Lunat's right, obviously, love Urda Rhoona
as well, totally.
Speaker 1 (48:30):
Yeah, it took a while to figure out. You figured
out that I did.
Speaker 4 (48:33):
I didn't even know it the first time, And like
now that I'm watching it with the scope of seeing
her other stuff.
Speaker 1 (48:38):
Hello, hello, Well now we know what anders Google's and
a private broser looking up all the things. What's your name?
Speaker 4 (48:48):
Adria Rhona?
Speaker 1 (48:50):
There you go, that's the probably what I twenty dollars something?
Speaker 5 (48:53):
I'm going to google her because I don't know.
Speaker 4 (48:55):
I have my own either.
Speaker 1 (48:57):
Does she have an only fans?
Speaker 4 (48:58):
I wouldn't know.
Speaker 1 (48:59):
Why would he tell you? Wink wink, he has to
keep it the wink see the tissue in his search purposes.
She's okay, let's be honest. She's hot.
Speaker 5 (49:08):
Yeah, I know, thank you, thank you, I'm sorry. What's
the name again?
Speaker 1 (49:12):
Audrea? Our Audrey I Jonah middle name tissue.
Speaker 5 (49:18):
Oh she's the first one.
Speaker 1 (49:20):
Oh that God keep us on the rails. I look
like that. I've be taking.
Speaker 5 (49:28):
Naked every day. Now that's how to get a promotion
without HR.
Speaker 4 (49:40):
Anyway, Also, the last of US season two is coming
out here pretty quick. I'm a huge fan. I played
the video game, so I I am a nerd.
Speaker 1 (49:49):
Like you're the one who drafted Star Wars video games
and our Star Wars. I'm a nerd. To come on now,
don't get it twisted. Nerd, very like aggressive towards it heard.
Speaker 4 (50:01):
No, it's a it's a term of endearment, but no,
it's fantastic anyone who hasn't seen it. It's slightly different
than any post apocalyptic world stuff because you know, we
talked about Paradise and like, you know how that ends
up going the way it does. I really really like
(50:21):
how it basically doesn't use the zombie thing with Last
of Us as like the main part of the story.
It's the setting. So like everyone who like Walking Dead,
the zombie is like the main part of the story,
right spoiler alert, really the Walking Dead, but with the
(50:47):
Last of Us it like it's a it's a character drama.
It's about a dad who or not a dad. It's
it's about a guy who loses his daughter, his only daughter,
on the day that everything ended, and he basically shuts
everything off on that part of his brain. He just
becomes to turn to survival dude. But then meets another
(51:12):
someone that would be the similar age as his daughter,
and it is a girl. So it's about their relationship
and how he grows to kind of start loving people
more and like their whole experience, and it goes deep
into kind of her background as well. I really really
like it. It's an awesome story. Season one was expertly done,
but I'm a little worried about season two because season
(51:34):
one is basically the first video game, and everyone universally
loved the first video game, and the second video game
is one of the most split things in any media
I've ever seen. Some people absolutely love it, some people
absolutely hate it. And I think the reason a lot
of people absolutely hate it is because everyone loves the
first one so much they felt like they ruined it.
I'm not gonna spoil anything because I know Jackson really
(51:55):
likes this show as well. I am very curious to
see if they go with a along the same lines
as the second video game, and if they do, I
want to know your thoughts about it.
Speaker 1 (52:04):
Twenty eight all time for me after the first season,
just outstanding television. Good. The Bill and Frank episode is
for me.
Speaker 4 (52:10):
Is it better than The Day?
Speaker 1 (52:11):
Yeah? I think it is. Yeah. I think billan which
which I mean because here's the thing. The Day when
an hour long. I don't think you can call it
a mini movie. It's just a great episode of TV.
Bill and Frank is an hour and twenty seven minutes. Yeah,
it's a mini movie. It is, and it's just one
of those that, like you can it's sort of a
TV episode, but it's sort of not, and it just
comes out to be just a magical, magical ninety minutes
(52:33):
of you know.
Speaker 4 (52:34):
It's content funny about that is that I agree that's
probably the best episode in the first season, and they
that's probably the biggest change that they made from the
video game to the show. Out of everything else, that's
by far the biggest change they made, so and it
turned out to be a good one.
Speaker 1 (52:50):
A few times have I cried drough a single episode
of TV that's not a series finale, and that's one
of them. Is just that's that's television profession. For Bill
and Frank episode three or four or something like that,
it was early on. I just smacked you over the
face with amazing feelings. All right. So that's great stuff
for catching up. And we'll obviously be talking about both
of those in the months ahead here in Hollywood Weekly
(53:13):
for Last of Us and and or Jessman, what have
you been watching?
Speaker 5 (53:17):
I mentioned it briefly off the top, but I am on.
Speaker 3 (53:21):
Episode four of season two of Severance, and so I
know a lot of people have watched a lot more
than that, but I.
Speaker 1 (53:29):
Like it.
Speaker 5 (53:29):
I like it. I am consumed by the story.
Speaker 3 (53:33):
Like I said that, you know, I'm just kind of
like waiting, like, give me a little more context. But
I also appreciate a show making you want that because
you hang on so that you get that.
Speaker 1 (53:48):
It's so funny you've used what you just said, because
after you watch the most recent episode, which I think
is eight, you'll be saying that to the nth degree
because this last episode was just like, Okay, where's the context.
Speaker 3 (54:00):
Yeah. I have watched shows where I had to suspend
reality before, like when I watch Game of Thrones, I
was like, oh, okay, I just have to suspend reality.
Speaker 1 (54:09):
It loels like it's easy to do with that.
Speaker 3 (54:12):
It is because this is more real, and I feel
like there's subtext and they're obviously making a metaphor for
a bunch of different things in the show Severance, and
I like to read into that too, thinking with a
producer brain where I'm like, oh, I see what they're
doing here, I see what they're doing there. So I
can't like I'm thinking a lot yeah when I'm watching it.
(54:35):
And sometimes I like to just watch something and be entertained,
and I am both with that one. So severances I'm
still watching it. I'm still gonna watch it. I need
to know, I need answers, I need answers. Would you
say it's I know there's ten episodes in season two,
but where are we at thin?
Speaker 1 (54:54):
Eight?
Speaker 5 (54:55):
Okay, yeah, I'm on four so I can catch up.
Speaker 1 (54:58):
That's it.
Speaker 5 (55:00):
Yeah, other than that Celtics basketball Celtics.
Speaker 1 (55:04):
Excession right there. Okay, let's then in that case, I
think we've wrapped it all so we can get to
the draft. All right. So once again, this is in
honor of Amazon buying and killing the James Bond franchise.
A big article I think in the Hollywood Reporter came
out that said that the negotiations over the last few
months about this Amazon franchise was very, very tense. And
(55:26):
Barbara Broccoli, who's the daughter of Alfred Broccoli, who kind
of ran James Bond for fifteen years, I understand. Yeah,
So Barbara Broccoli ran James Bond for the last long
time twenty years or so, and she and Robert Wilson,
I want to say, the two producers who've run this
entire operation, decided to sell out for a billion dollars,
(55:48):
and reportedly Jeff Bezos kind of said, well, reportedly, Broccoli
was kind of just like, he's an idiot, and Amazon
executives are idiots, and I'm not selling to them. And
Jeff Bezos in response said, I don't care what it caught,
get her the f out of there. So she got
the f out of there by the cost of a
billion dollars, And James Bond is now going to be
turned into a bunch of spinoff shows, and who knows
(56:10):
what they'll do with the movies every song?
Speaker 4 (56:12):
Can I say something quick? Yeah, it's funny how the
public perception of this purchase is so far different from
the Lord of the Rings, even though it's the same point,
because I think with the Lord of the Rings purchase
from Amazon from a very well respected usually keeps things
very close to the chest estate. In the Tolkien estate,
(56:35):
every Lord of the Rings fan wanted it to happen.
Everyone wanted to see the TV show. They wanted it.
Speaker 1 (56:41):
You know why, There's a very simple answer is because
Lord of the Rings biggest content, the biggest things that
that that has happened from Tolkien are done already and
now it's just kind of remaking and whatever and new content.
James Bond is like our soul has been fulfilled with
Lord of the Rings. James Bond is just it's always
gonna be new, It's always going to be more and
(57:01):
more more, and like now it's gonna be ruined. I
think also like they didn't know what it would be like.
Speaker 4 (57:06):
So now that James Bond fans saw what the treatment
of the Lord of the Rings was a crappy TV
show that just just reminds you nothing of the Middle
Earth universe that you're used to. That's they don't want
that to turn. They don't want m I six ditioned
into that or whatever. The James Bond I don't. Yeah,
(57:27):
but it will be in Fleming and.
Speaker 1 (57:29):
That's where we're going. So in honor of James Bond
franchise probably dying at the hands of Amazon, we're going
to have a draft of franchises. Yeah, well we are
either favorites or best franchises for us. So Andrews, by
virtue of guessing Second Power Rangers correctly as guest second overall.
So let's go around. We're gonna do a random number
(57:49):
generator and we'll start with Jess Jess, you will get
number four, Chris, you will get number five. Ashley, you
will get number one, And that means I am three,
actually will lead off our franchise somebody keep by the way, Chris,
you got it all right, so you lead off the
franchise draft.
Speaker 5 (58:08):
Okay, I just I'd like to preface this with that
I am not a good movie person.
Speaker 1 (58:14):
Fun let's go, but three rounds by the way.
Speaker 6 (58:17):
Okay, But growing up, I absolutely did love these movies,
and my parents love these movies, So please give me
Indiana Jones.
Speaker 1 (58:26):
I did not think that I had it on my list.
I'm not good at picking movies, but I'll take the
greatest one probably all the time.
Speaker 4 (58:34):
Is that the greatest? Was that your number one?
Speaker 1 (58:36):
No? But it's a really good story. Six movies and
my top that.
Speaker 5 (58:43):
Wait, explain why?
Speaker 1 (58:45):
Oh I got it? Talk about it?
Speaker 6 (58:46):
She's like, I just really loved the I guess I
don't even know how to explain it because I haven't
rewatched it since I was a kid. But it's like, yeah,
I haven't, and I should. I should really go back
and do it. Whis favorite one Raiders of the Last Dark? Yeah,
I'm oh, that was that one?
Speaker 1 (59:04):
That would be.
Speaker 6 (59:05):
Obviously the last one I saw the new ones. No,
I haven't seen the new ones. Good for you, just
like I haven't seen any of the new Star Wars movies.
Speaker 1 (59:14):
Also, good for you. Well done, Ashley, thank you.
Speaker 5 (59:18):
I just one.
Speaker 6 (59:19):
I love Harrison Ford, like he's just a natural badass
and so he doesn't ever try too hard. Ye just
all the characters, they you you were cheering for them.
You're hating all the villains like the way that you
should and the I don't know, you get your happy
ending and.
Speaker 1 (59:33):
Everybody hates Nazis. Yeah they do. Common Enemy, Yes, who knew?
Speaker 6 (59:41):
But I just like, now talking about it, I want
to go back and rewatch it, honestly because it has
been so long. But I just remember as a kid,
like the feeling of watching Indiana Jones and being like, so,
guy is so cool. And then I got to go
to like Universal Studios, and I was like, I just
want to go to the Indiana Jones thing.
Speaker 5 (59:58):
That was all I cared about. Disneyland, know, it's at
Universal Studio.
Speaker 6 (01:00:02):
There's the ride, there's the ride at Disneyland. But there's
an Indiana Jones show Universal Studio. So you have like
a yeah, like Indiana Jones.
Speaker 1 (01:00:12):
Yeah, they have a ball rolling after you and everything not.
Speaker 6 (01:00:15):
At the Universal Studio show they did something, but I
just remember being like, oh, he's like the real guy.
Speaker 1 (01:00:19):
That's a great that's a great topic. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:00:22):
Sorry, my explanation isn't good as it's inherent love for
a franchise.
Speaker 1 (01:00:27):
Yeah, and the second overall, you chose it, what do
you want now?
Speaker 4 (01:00:31):
I thought one of these two wity picks. So I
have a tough choice.
Speaker 1 (01:00:35):
I wonder if we have the Ice Age. I wonder
if good movie, but I don't know the last Meltdown.
Speaker 4 (01:00:42):
I'll go Star Wars. I I'm a nerd. I'm a
Star Wars nerd. Just by virtue of content.
Speaker 1 (01:00:47):
The music, Jackson, we can't put it on the podcast.
Speaker 5 (01:00:50):
Yeah, have you not been to iHeart before?
Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
Ten cents that you get from ad revenue, so you're
getting the dime hunt. Yeah, go ahead.
Speaker 4 (01:01:08):
Honestly, just by virtue of pure content, Like there's so
much that it like, there is a lot of bad
with it. As Ashley said, all the Disney movies are awful.
I know if some people like The Force Awakens, it's fine,
it's not great. I would rather watch one through six
any day of the week. Mandalorian's good. Clone Wars is
(01:01:28):
awesome and ors awesome. That that's so much content right there.
That's that's a lot of better content than almost anything
else on this list. So I'm going to Star Wars
as in honor of Harrison Ford as well, because he
is awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:01:42):
Yeah, he is awesome. Star Wars was my number two, okay,
And and like, I think it's just a worthy pick
because there is just so much good.
Speaker 4 (01:01:49):
I mean to get the merchandise too, because everything around
Star Wars you want to.
Speaker 1 (01:01:54):
I would even say, you get Galaxy's Edge, but I
get a lasso.
Speaker 5 (01:02:00):
What about the whip turns into yeah it's a whip.
Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
Yeah, but that's the only black guy. I'm not sure
I'm filling the whip right now. That's okay, okay there,
just like Power Rangers, there's only one guy in the
Black Guy and the Power Rangers to let's not go there.
Speaker 4 (01:02:21):
Still my number one, I know it's happening.
Speaker 1 (01:02:24):
So I mean, listen, like I think my my favorite
number one is lowered down on the list because I
know I can get it, probably in the third round. Yeah, right,
So I'm saying my favorite, but the number one on
my draft list here is Marvel. The m c U
I think is an obvious top pick with so much,
(01:02:44):
so much and there is so much bad because I
know you have four Dark World the listeners.
Speaker 6 (01:02:49):
Wait, does that mean you get all the Iron Man. Yes,
it's like the only ones I've ever seen from there,
But like.
Speaker 1 (01:02:58):
At the end of the day, really yeah, I mean,
like if we separated it and even said like Iron
Man and Avengers and thor and Captain America are all
separate things, I think I would still probably roll with
the Avengers because at the end of the day, you
get Infinity War, you get End Games, you get the
Og Avengers, you get iron you get the whole thing.
And there is so much bad and it's really really
(01:03:21):
bad at times, but when they hit I mean Shang Chia,
I really like Shang Chi. I think it's pretty good.
But at the same time, the good is is great
and elite level movies, and there is some elite TV
I think in Loki and WandaVision is very good as well.
But at the end of the day, you get all
of the good and it just outweighs the bad too much.
(01:03:43):
So give me Marvel at number three.
Speaker 3 (01:03:44):
All right, great pick, great pick, all right, I've got
number four. I'm going Jurassic Park.
Speaker 1 (01:03:50):
But you get all the bad And that's like.
Speaker 3 (01:03:54):
I will explain my Pitt explanation.
Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
It's not even his.
Speaker 4 (01:04:02):
Music.
Speaker 1 (01:04:03):
It is really good.
Speaker 5 (01:04:04):
Yeah, I did draft.
Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
I take all the bad ones. I couldn't do it
for Jurassic Park.
Speaker 5 (01:04:10):
I can.
Speaker 3 (01:04:10):
I Actually, the only reason I liked the Chris Pratt
versions of them is because I loved the original and
I was a kid when I saw it, and I
got to go to the theater, and I didn't get
to do that very much, but I got to go,
and it was the first movie that I don't like theaters.
I don't like sitting in the dark with strangers around me,
(01:04:31):
so weird as a woman, right, And so when I
asked my aunt because my I think my parents took
me or I got to go on like a school thing,
and I asked my aunt to take me with my
cousin the next day because I wanted to see it again.
Speaker 5 (01:04:51):
That's how good it was to me.
Speaker 3 (01:04:53):
And I was under ten years old, and that was
the first movie that I ever felt that way about
that I I wanted to watch again immediately. I loved
it so much. And that's my like origin story movie
watching experience. So Jurassic Park is for me.
Speaker 5 (01:05:10):
And also, Chris Christ's pretty pretty. I mean he's not
a bad looking man.
Speaker 3 (01:05:14):
Yeah, I'll take it. I like the stories that they created.
It wasn't in compared, Like, you can't compare to the
first one.
Speaker 4 (01:05:21):
But Jackson can't the first. Yeah, Jackson can't unsee him
as Andy in Parks and RecA. I can't unsee him
as star Lord and Gardens of the Galaxy. So that's
just he's also a fake satellite.
Speaker 5 (01:05:33):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, anyway, anyway.
Speaker 1 (01:05:37):
I know, but I mean, like I think, I think
there's a lot of bad there, but there's also like
an elite level.
Speaker 4 (01:05:42):
There's an elite level good. Yeah, the first.
Speaker 1 (01:05:47):
For sure.
Speaker 3 (01:05:47):
Yeah, the first two, three is like a medium. Yeah,
and I don't care, like I still watch him.
Speaker 1 (01:05:55):
Yeah, all right, I'm with you, Chris number five and
you get the wrapper, Thank goodness. I'll take James Bond
and Michigan.
Speaker 5 (01:06:03):
I thought that I thought that was out of I
thought that was a lot of bounds.
Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
I didn't know why.
Speaker 5 (01:06:08):
I don't know, because I thought it was in honor
of it, so we couldn't draft.
Speaker 1 (01:06:10):
No total on the board.
Speaker 4 (01:06:12):
Yeah that's great, that's great and the wrap around her.
But so go Ahead, John, he's he's the spy guy here.
Let's go.
Speaker 5 (01:06:20):
Oh you did James Bond and what that's tremendous?
Speaker 1 (01:06:23):
No did? I mean? I don't know where to start, man,
go Ahead's classic twenty five movies from Pierce Brosnan. That's
where I started. Unfortunately I didn't get to see like
the old she's your favorite Bond. That's a great question,
Daniel Craig. That's a great question. I thought Pierce was
amazing Craig. So Piers Brosnan, Wow, yeah, well I wouldn't
say terrible, but have him is your best over Craig,
(01:06:44):
And I didn't.
Speaker 4 (01:06:45):
Say he was the best? Said, Okay, I don't know.
I have to go back and like seriously break it down.
It's Daniel Craig gap, Sean Connery gap Roger District to
but Sean Conny might either take it man.
Speaker 1 (01:06:57):
Roger even Roger Moore. Yeah, Roger Moore had I mean,
like the conversation, how do you draft the franchise? And
you didn't watch Roger Moore because I'm smart. Roger Moore
had the Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy who
Loved Me Too. Excellent Bond films sounds like a great
mixtape that i'd listened to. But the film that I
have seen, they were just amazing. And I started with
(01:07:18):
Piers Brosen. That's where I was like, oh my god,
James Bond and he protects the world. You didn't even
mention Livin let Die. Was that Roger Moore?
Speaker 4 (01:07:26):
That was Timothy Dalton's Roger Moore. I want to make
sure that's like one of the best Bond films, shug
at that is that Roger Moore was Roger Moore.
Speaker 5 (01:07:33):
Never I've not seen all the James Bond movies.
Speaker 1 (01:07:37):
I've seen some I have. I've seen from Peers and Brosnen.
Until then, I have the fifty year collection on my
shelf and the one with Halle Berry in it. I
saw that Another Day that's with Peers.
Speaker 4 (01:07:47):
Yeah, see the nineties, and.
Speaker 6 (01:07:49):
Then I felt like it would then it was probably
like die another death on another day and then die
a little more. No time to die is where he
actually dies, and there clearly was time to die on that.
Speaker 1 (01:07:58):
What's your favorite James Bond movie like specific the one
where he dies No Time to Die.
Speaker 4 (01:08:02):
Yeah, I mean, listen, I think No Time to Die
is pretty good. But to say it's the best favorite
the one where he's chasing the black.
Speaker 1 (01:08:11):
That was incredible. I think I think it's too much
like it's too much like who what's the other kind
of James Bond want to be American style? Jeremy Renner
was in one, but Matt Damon was the main guy. Yeah, Yeah,
I feel it. I'm not saying no, I'm not saying
it isn't great. I'm saying that Casino Royale was too
(01:08:31):
much like Born. I think Bond needs to be a
little bit flashy and a little bit you know, more
kind of like eccentric.
Speaker 5 (01:08:38):
Not just straight shooting people.
Speaker 6 (01:08:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:08:40):
I feel Casino Royale was a gritty, spy thriller. Is
that's why it's the best. Yeah, I need I needs
an introspective to his character too. I'm not saying that
I need full Die Another Day, but I need more
Die Another Day where you have not an invisible car,
but you have more of the flash and you have
more of the craziness, like No Time to Die has
the crazy dB nine driving through Italian cliffs.
Speaker 4 (01:09:00):
Just like different things than me. Yeah, I mean I
like the grittier down to Earth stories.
Speaker 1 (01:09:04):
Yeah that's not James Bond for me, all right, but Chris,
I mean ultimately it's a it's a good pick a
number leve overall now Mission Impossible six overall, I mean
I could have went, yes, I mean, Mission Impossible is
also now on Dead Reckoning, the Final Reckoning. You get
that too. It's just it's just great. And you know
what I love the most.
Speaker 2 (01:09:23):
If him and Tom Hanks would a race, I think
I think, uh, I think my guy would win Mission Impossible,
just him running Hanks because you haven't seen you.
Speaker 5 (01:09:33):
Oh yeah, he just kept running.
Speaker 1 (01:09:35):
I was running. So if you see Forrest Gump and
he'll think he ran across the world. I still think Tom.
Speaker 4 (01:09:41):
Tom Cruise is different than Tom Hanks.
Speaker 1 (01:09:42):
No, he's saying you Forrest Gump. You haven't seen for Gum.
I haven't seen Forrest Gump. The one where he runs.
Speaker 4 (01:09:46):
I know, I know he runs. I thought you were comparing, uh,
James Bond to Ethan Hunt. No, okay, everyone but Underston
got it?
Speaker 1 (01:09:54):
AnyWho? Back to James Bond real quick.
Speaker 2 (01:09:57):
Yeah, yeah, My favorite one might be the one where
he's chasing the brother for like seven minutes and he's
running through instruction sites.
Speaker 4 (01:10:02):
That's Casino Royals Cain.
Speaker 1 (01:10:04):
That one was fire. I'm like broed that opening. Are
you are you flipping?
Speaker 2 (01:10:09):
And that was That was when Park Kerr was like
big around. That was I just wanted to get back
to that. But then mission impossible. I don't know how
they keep doing it. It just keeps getting better.
Speaker 1 (01:10:19):
See now you the last one I just came out
dead rack. That was really freaking good. We'll screw you guys.
Speaker 5 (01:10:28):
You're kids get lowered down on the tether thing. Every movie.
Speaker 1 (01:10:32):
Yes, okay, I never No, I don't think so. I
do know he runs every movie like sprints for like
longer than a normal He.
Speaker 5 (01:10:40):
Read it as a runner, like they talk about his
skills as a runner.
Speaker 1 (01:10:44):
I'm sure he ran track in high school. Based on
his sprint.
Speaker 5 (01:10:46):
Assumption on it forty time and everything is incredible.
Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
Man is sprinting for like four minutes, and it's just like,
I'm just like, dude, you are a machine.
Speaker 6 (01:10:56):
Well running break something right? You don't like we talked
about Night Agent earlier. He is a terrible runner.
Speaker 1 (01:11:03):
Oh god, I see what he shoots and asked questions
later exactly I get it all right, mentioned impossible as
a heck of a two pick there, let's go now
to seventh overall jests.
Speaker 3 (01:11:16):
Oh it's me okay, I am going to go. I'm
doing okay, this is like my guilty pleasure Transformers.
Speaker 1 (01:11:28):
Wow, it got really bad after like the second one.
I'm sorry, but well she does. She does. Get the
whole franchise, get the.
Speaker 5 (01:11:39):
Watch cartoons from the eighties.
Speaker 1 (01:11:40):
Goodness, Yeah, that's the whole thing. Yeah, you also get
the original series. I just couldn't touch it.
Speaker 3 (01:11:48):
I just didn't touch I think that I might be
able to get Megan Fox to I get Meghan.
Speaker 4 (01:11:55):
To take.
Speaker 1 (01:11:57):
Yeah those two my bond o. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:12:02):
Yeah, no, I I just for some reason, I travel
a lot for work, and I it's like a movie
you watch on a plane, right. I watched it at
home after I first watched it on a plane. And
also there were I played with the transfer Former toys
when I was younger, and.
Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
Me too. They were great.
Speaker 5 (01:12:24):
And I watched the cartoons.
Speaker 3 (01:12:26):
Yeah, yes, I just remember the More the Eye And
for some reason, that was a watch that unite.
Speaker 5 (01:12:36):
So I just I don't know there there's something.
Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
I guess my draft is going from childhood memories today,
but that is the one that sticks out. I had
a couple other on my lists that probably would have
done better in this draft, except.
Speaker 5 (01:12:50):
That is where do you actually have a really good voice.
Speaker 1 (01:12:56):
For that world of arts? Prime here?
Speaker 5 (01:13:01):
There's more to them than podcast.
Speaker 6 (01:13:03):
You guys should just start making the Transformers. Yeah episode
that was really good.
Speaker 5 (01:13:09):
Yeah, well, ultra into something anyway. I just I really
liked it.
Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
It's uh, it reminds me, uh for me having the
childhood memories and then seeing it made into a movie,
especially the first one I thought was great, like I
fell in Love with Bummer and.
Speaker 1 (01:13:28):
Oh you get Bumbleby with Hailey Steinfeld too, that's a
good movie.
Speaker 5 (01:13:32):
Yeah, ye, I forgot.
Speaker 1 (01:13:37):
I'm trying to make sense of the pick in my head.
It's her guilty pleasure three picks.
Speaker 5 (01:13:43):
When I love a movie and or like that, you know,
just like sticks with me. I'm gonna draft it. I
Pete Carroll there you want you want?
Speaker 1 (01:13:55):
Your person has.
Speaker 5 (01:13:56):
Long arms, she's happy exactly. My gosh is insane.
Speaker 1 (01:14:06):
I don't have a massive choice. I don't want to
get screwed here because I know exactly what you I
don't want to go into my final pick without exactly
I just don't want to get screwed. My top and
my favorite, and it's number one on my favorite board.
It's Star Trek because Star Trek has put out a
number of bad movies, but it's also put out a
(01:14:29):
bunch of absolutely tremendous series. And and for me, if
I you know, if I, if I stay true to
my list, you know, I have Star Trek Strange New
Worlds seventh all time on my on my show list,
I have The Next Generation number eleven on my all
time list. I don't know where the original series is.
I never finished that, so I don't have to ranked.
But like, even even that was good. Uh, the movies
(01:14:51):
have differed from generation to generation. I think they've all
stayed very good at the at the really lowest level.
Star Trek O. Nine is my se favorite movie of
all time. I not even like Star Trek. That movie
is awesome. It's just JJ Abrams's perfection. The opening scene
with Chris Hemsworth.
Speaker 4 (01:15:08):
Do better with Star Wars next time, though, JJ, come
on really though.
Speaker 1 (01:15:11):
But at the end of the day, like For me,
I am a Treky and I love so much about
what Star Trek puts out and from the shows and
the movies as a franchise level, the fact that I
get all the additional things as part of a franchise,
and it's put out some fine video games. Uh, and
overall just the idea of what a revelation Star Trek
(01:15:31):
has become in society. They had the first interracial kiss
on television. I think that Star Trek is a cultural
phenomenon that I have to have on my team. So
I'm not willing to wait. I might have still gotten
in third round, but I mean, from Livelong and prosper
I have to have Star Trek with with.
Speaker 4 (01:15:51):
This pick, all right, I love it. I I would
have stolen yours just so you know you would have
it if you would have stolen my if I would
have taken track, and I would have not stolen.
Speaker 1 (01:16:04):
Right here.
Speaker 4 (01:16:04):
Yes, and I'm going to take Lord of the Rings.
Speaker 1 (01:16:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:16:09):
I was literally next on the list, So if you
would have taken Lord of the Rings, I would have
taken Star Trek out of retribution.
Speaker 1 (01:16:15):
Just go ahead anyway.
Speaker 4 (01:16:19):
Yeah, Lord of the Rings is awesome. There are some
bad as mentioned before. I do not like the new
television series on Amazon. It's if you Jackson has a
different taste for it than I do, which is fine.
Speaker 1 (01:16:31):
I'm just willing to overlook the source content. I'm a purist.
Speaker 4 (01:16:36):
I need it to be like the way it's I
don't know the Peter Jackson movies. Uh, I don't love
the Hobbit. It's I think it's better than it gets
credit for, to be honest, and if you watch the
extended versions, it's a lot better. It's kind of simple.
It gives me some similar vibes to Justice League whatever.
Speaker 1 (01:16:58):
Limited.
Speaker 4 (01:16:58):
No, who's the director Director's cut? Like, oh yeah, yeah, God,
that's gonna bother me now, Godner cut, Snyder cut, Snyder
cut exactly anyways, But like they weren't amazing, but god,
those three Lord of the Rings movies, I could watch
that twelve hours of movie, like over and over and
(01:17:23):
over and over and over many times. It's it's that good.
It's the best score in history. It's all three of those.
I put them as like one long giant movie because
I can't rank them more than the other ones. I
like parts of the story more than other parts, but
I put that like if I'm to choose one thing
(01:17:45):
to watch the rest of my life, it is Lord
of the Rings, that one twelve hour movie. It just
gets better every time I watch it, and I have
a lot of memories with that because I would always
go with my dad and go up tour Camano Island
Beach House and watch all three of them, all extended versions,
back to back to back with one of my good
(01:18:05):
friends in middle school and his dad, and we just
have such a good time. So yeah, Lord of the
Rings for me, it's it's an easy I get my
top two picks and I'm very very happy about it.
It's great call, thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:18:16):
It's a great pick, and it's Perfection, Perfection, Perfection from Fellowship,
Two Towers from the King, and once again you take
a little bad with a lot of good. Yeah, all right,
Ashley has tenth overall and you're also a final third
round pick.
Speaker 6 (01:18:30):
Okay, I am going to take the Dark Knight trilogyne get.
Speaker 1 (01:18:38):
Yeah, want to get.
Speaker 5 (01:18:41):
List, but let's just be honest.
Speaker 6 (01:18:42):
The Dark Knight Trilogy is the best because Christian Male
is the hands down best on earth.
Speaker 4 (01:18:47):
Thank you anyone who says it's Robert Pattinson, It's not
a lot of people.
Speaker 1 (01:18:53):
Those people are Yeah, they are idiots. They are absolute idiots.
Speaker 4 (01:18:57):
It's like, uh, I don't know. I had to whole
argument with Augustina and my wife because she thinks that
she doesn't like Tom Holland a spider Man, because she
thinks it's Toby MacGuire that was the first one she watched.
I disagree. I think I think Tom Holland is a
much better spider Man. But people say that about Batman
is what I'm saying, like anyone who tries to argue
with me that it's not Christian Bale can.
Speaker 1 (01:19:17):
Michael Keaton was good. Robert Pattinson's fine, but like Christian
bale is, he is elite best. Yeah, and just the
cast too. You look at all three of those Dark Knights.
Speaker 6 (01:19:26):
You've got Michael Kane, You've got Morgan Freeman, Heath Ledger
is one of the best villains I've ever seen ever.
Speaker 1 (01:19:32):
You've got the best, the best performance period in any movie.
Speaker 5 (01:19:35):
It was phenomenal. And then you bring in Tom Hardy
in the third one.
Speaker 1 (01:19:38):
So good. I mean, they're so good. Christ You do
a good Tom Hardy voice, don't you? For Baine, It's
been a long time to come on. You've been doing
voices the whole show.
Speaker 4 (01:19:47):
I just did.
Speaker 1 (01:19:48):
I just did one, all right, gives I can't It's
not ready. It's just not ready. It's a charge up,
you know, It's a charge is ultimate. It's like a
guy that's just drunk off his skis and girls like
are you ready, and he he's like, you know, I
need five gotta go to the restroom real quick, so
I need to like probably even come back to get
it activated.
Speaker 5 (01:20:07):
That was such a weird I didn't know what actually
talking about.
Speaker 6 (01:20:11):
The Yeah, I just like I went and saw I
think it was The Dark Knight in Imax, and it
was like one I wanted to puke because it really
makes like your but it's just I can't. I could
watch that over and over and over all three movies,
just from the beginning to end. I read somewhere that
they say Christian Bale is like the perfect mix of.
Speaker 5 (01:20:29):
Light and dark.
Speaker 1 (01:20:30):
Totally agree.
Speaker 5 (01:20:32):
Is because you root him. He's not a good guy, right.
Speaker 6 (01:20:36):
But you're rooting for him, but he's not like an
evil character is and that's why you just want him
to succeed.
Speaker 1 (01:20:43):
So I love it.
Speaker 5 (01:20:44):
And then you've got you know, Michael Caine just there
helping him and supporting.
Speaker 1 (01:20:47):
I just so Joseph got to but you forgot about him.
But again, you get the nineties movies, and there was
and even there was a bunch of animated series. Yeah,
I mean having the Batman franchise over there is there's
a lot of really really good content Adam West including
but like over the years, I mean Arnold Schwarzenegger, you
(01:21:10):
think of Danny DeVito. Yeah, there's been some really fun
movies in the nineties that like they're guilty pleasure movies,
but I think to add them to the franchise, we're
talking about good and bad and a lot of good.
There's a lot I think the more good bad. There's
a lot more good than bad.
Speaker 4 (01:21:26):
And like even the newer Batman's I don't like them
as much as the Dark Knights, but they're good. Like, yeah,
you get the Penguin.
Speaker 5 (01:21:33):
I was gonna ask.
Speaker 6 (01:21:35):
You to watch it, but I don't have the channel
that it's on. Yeah, okay, white load of season three
to that really.
Speaker 1 (01:21:49):
Pisses me off that she also gets Penguin so mad.
Speaker 4 (01:21:52):
The other thing, I know, you guys aren't video gamers
as much as I am, but there's some awesome Batman
video games man, so you get that as well.
Speaker 1 (01:22:00):
Yeah, okay, thanks christ you already got closer to Bane.
That wasn't closed.
Speaker 4 (01:22:04):
I was just saying you lost the room, brother, Okay,
now you Colgan whatever his pick Jackson.
Speaker 6 (01:22:12):
End of snake question though, because I don't know that
Marvel stuff like are the X Men movie is part
of that?
Speaker 4 (01:22:18):
No?
Speaker 5 (01:22:18):
No, you would like to take the x next.
Speaker 1 (01:22:22):
On actually actually comes in saying, you guys are gonna
hate my list. She's stolen.
Speaker 5 (01:22:27):
It was a really short list, so I really lucked
out you guys. This is my list.
Speaker 1 (01:22:36):
It's on one little literally stolen. The last you have good.
Speaker 5 (01:22:41):
The ones I didn't do were Born, the Born movies.
Speaker 1 (01:22:44):
That's a good one that's on my list.
Speaker 6 (01:22:46):
Pirates of the Caribbean, and I didn't want Star Wars
Star Wars, but I wanted to know if the Ewoks movies.
Speaker 1 (01:22:55):
And you have to take the Eks to you have
the Anders and the Christmas Special.
Speaker 4 (01:23:03):
I say, there's a lot of bad with the Star Wars.
Speaker 5 (01:23:06):
You take what is that the Facts of Life show X.
Speaker 1 (01:23:09):
Men, because there's just again it's sort of like Batman.
You get animated stuff too, and there's so much good.
Speaker 6 (01:23:16):
Well, then I didn't know if X Men would be
can like if that would be considered with Deadpool, because
then you've got Wolverine going into Deadpool the final one
with Deadpool.
Speaker 1 (01:23:26):
Count with X Men.
Speaker 4 (01:23:27):
I say, no, okay, I think it's its own thing.
Speaker 1 (01:23:29):
Okay, I mean here's yes, because he is the expost
there are X Men in the movie. He even goes
to the Mansion, and he's like part of that whole thing. Yeah,
I think he is so entwined with the X Men characters,
the whole thing with x Deadpool and Wolverine going to Google.
(01:23:50):
In short, Deadpool has never been a member of the
X Men, no nothing, but he's saying he's so entwined
with it.
Speaker 5 (01:23:58):
I mean, movie is him and Wolverine.
Speaker 4 (01:24:02):
Yeah, exactly two different.
Speaker 1 (01:24:04):
So let me say this way. I had Deadpool separate.
I did, but I think there's a case to make
that it's part of it. I think it's separate, okay,
and that's fine. I'm good with just X Men. You
could get both, I could that's I mean, it's a
great pick. I mean, like literally, your team is Indiana
Jones and you two that you've stolen Man and X
(01:24:26):
Men exactly. That's a heck of a team.
Speaker 6 (01:24:28):
Again my short list. It worked out because I was like, man,
if these all get taken, I'm gonna.
Speaker 1 (01:24:34):
Just Ewoks and Star Wars and Rings. Now what, Oh
it's me Yeah, jeez, okay, I actually have a tough pick. Here.
It's your final pick.
Speaker 4 (01:24:45):
I'm gonna read you the four that I'm choosing from. Yeah,
and I could, honestly, for any number of reasons, I
could choose any one of these. Harry Potter, Shrek, I
love Shrek, top Gun or prior to the Caribbean. I
love all of these like a lot. I honestly thought
I thought these would all be gone, or at least
(01:25:05):
more than four or less than four of them would
be left. I think Harry Potter has the most content.
I'm lower on that than a lot of other people are.
I'm higher on Pirates than a lot of other people are.
Speaker 5 (01:25:21):
I would go with Pirates if it were me.
Speaker 4 (01:25:25):
I just love Shreks so much, I really do. I
think it's probably the best, one of the best animated movies.
Speaker 5 (01:25:32):
And you get Puss in boots.
Speaker 1 (01:25:33):
Yeah, I love all four of them. Movies like they're
all really good. There's a joke there.
Speaker 5 (01:25:39):
Don't blow too hard over there, Jackson, Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:25:48):
To the podcast. We haven't even really started drinking yet.
Speaker 5 (01:25:54):
It's true.
Speaker 4 (01:25:55):
God, I know I'm making us go long.
Speaker 1 (01:26:00):
Five four. I'm doing the right the Dwight shirt method
five four, three two one say it, say it?
Speaker 6 (01:26:07):
Do it?
Speaker 3 (01:26:08):
Do it.
Speaker 4 (01:26:08):
Pirates of the Caribbean, Yeah, oh, I've taking that again,
similar to what Jes did with Jurassic Park. The first
three are outstanding movies. And the ride yeah, and I
get the ride. Anything past that is not great.
Speaker 5 (01:26:23):
They serve alcohol on the ride now though not on
the ride but next to it in that.
Speaker 1 (01:26:27):
Yeah, yeah, you're going this fall?
Speaker 4 (01:26:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:26:32):
Speaking of oh you need ask and to refilm alcohol? Yeah,
I said, do you need an alcohol?
Speaker 1 (01:26:39):
Were not drinking in the studio, bosses, We're not.
Speaker 5 (01:26:42):
We're just straw outside.
Speaker 1 (01:26:45):
I like that. That was that was a can of nothing.
Speaker 4 (01:26:48):
Anyways, Pirates to drop, Pirates I love. If you haven't
seen it, please do like. The first parts of the
Caribbean is a legit like top twenty movie for me.
Speaker 3 (01:26:59):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:27:00):
Second one is actually insanely underrated and it still gets
loved a lot. The Therm one gets hated on. I
actually really like the third one, like a ton I
think if they had stopped at those three, it would
be revered way more than it is. But they milked
that the crap out of that for what three more movies.
I didn't I didn't watch after the third one.
Speaker 1 (01:27:19):
Yeah. Same, you are great at stopping when you need
to CONGRATU Yeah, thank you. Like you and I we
can we can agree on these things. Pirates is my
my last picks. I'll take it. Okay, Okay, did I
take her as Jackson?
Speaker 6 (01:27:36):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:27:36):
I now have six that I'm deciding between six?
Speaker 5 (01:27:40):
What order are we in right now?
Speaker 1 (01:27:42):
The final round?
Speaker 5 (01:27:42):
And then you know, but who's next? You're an next,
and then me and then.
Speaker 1 (01:27:47):
So I'll just list the ones that I'm and I'll
kind of talk through it fast and the Furious Planet
of the Apes, Deadpool, Superman, Power Rangers, and Toy Story.
The thing is, there's some of these that there's more
bad than good. I think. I think with Power Rangers
there's more bad than good because you have to take
all of the series and there are some really bad ones.
Speaker 5 (01:28:06):
And some pedophiles.
Speaker 1 (01:28:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:28:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:28:10):
The Plan of the Apes movies there's three very good ones, uh,
the recent ones. Yeah, but you also got to take
the original horrifyingly bad, and then also you got to
take the Mark Wahlberg which was terrible as well, So
I'm crossing that off. I think Deadpool with just three
movies isn't enough necessarily. I just don't think there's enough
(01:28:32):
there yet. Superman I would also say there's just more
bad than good. It has some really elite level content
with Twister, like I think there's just some I'm deciding
between Fast and the Furious and Toy Story those could
not be any more different, and I'm gonna I'm gonna
lose whatever draft or whatever pole we do, but I
(01:28:54):
don't care. It's more of my favorite and I'm just
more inclined to watch it when I see it randomly.
Come on FX on a random night. I'm going to
take in Fast and Furious Toy Story. I am because.
Speaker 4 (01:29:07):
You're right, that's an easy choice, and he chose the
wrong one box office. The earlier movies checked the box office.
I think that's why there's eleven of them.
Speaker 6 (01:29:15):
The earlier movies in the Fast and the Furious franchise
were great. They had like enticing storylines, you liked the.
Speaker 1 (01:29:21):
Characters, and then it had some like decent stuff family.
I mean, I think I think that five, six, seven
is just awesome, and I think that what you just
mentioned the early stuff is very good. And then yes,
eight and nine are crap and they're not, they're not,
They're good. That's why they're coming out with eleventh one
because they're not crapping make money. Like listen, that's the point.
(01:29:42):
Toy Story is the better movie franchise. It's the better one.
You're gonna probably win.
Speaker 4 (01:29:46):
The top three movies of those franchises are all Toy Story.
Speaker 1 (01:29:50):
What was the one?
Speaker 5 (01:29:51):
What was The Fast and the Furious? That was the
one after Paul Walker died.
Speaker 1 (01:29:54):
Eight, which was the one where they went on the
ice pall Walker died and Paul Walker died in seven?
Speaker 6 (01:29:59):
In seven, okay sure because because the Tribute, Yes, okay,
seven I watched, Yeah, so seven.
Speaker 1 (01:30:07):
I mean, frankly, I wish that seven great film. Yeah,
and I think I think Tribute. I wish they had
ended on seven, because then I probably would have taken
this in the second round. But like you never stopped
bracing cars, baby, you have to go eight, nine to
ten and that's just been new. But overall, like I
think Tokyo Drift is great. I think four is really good,
you know. For I think I love Number two. I
(01:30:27):
think Fast five is the best of the bunch, and
Furious seven is awesome. Uh the Paul Uh Paul Walker
send off is emotional as hell, and like listen, I
understand Toy Story is the better content. They are the
objectively better movies. But when I talk about, like we
do this franchise draft of like if I'm going into
the pair, you know, if I'm going into a bunker.
(01:30:48):
Almost said something wrong there. If I'm going into a
bunker and I can only take three franchises, I'm gonna
take the Fast and Free His franchise because it's A
it's more content, and B it's just a guilty pleasure
you watch it. Need more content. I'm fine rocking with
with my Star Trek and my Fast and the Furious
Safe Pick and and and Marvel and ended up just
(01:31:09):
I know I'm have some bad with the good. But
by the way, Dune was also in contention. It won
the best Sound and best visual Effects at the Oscars.
I mean, get the Prophecy, which it was had a
solid enough first season, but it's just not enough to
take away Fast and the Furious for me.
Speaker 4 (01:31:24):
With the pick. I like the pick.
Speaker 5 (01:31:25):
I think it's a great pick.
Speaker 1 (01:31:27):
Yeah right there with your brother.
Speaker 4 (01:31:28):
Yeah more.
Speaker 1 (01:31:31):
It was hard to debate through, but I just got
to go quite simple.
Speaker 4 (01:31:35):
Do we really not have Harry Potter fans in this?
Speaker 1 (01:31:37):
No? It ain't the book? Keep it pushing. I read,
I read like three, get the franchise. I'm a big reader.
I'd rather read the book than watch the movie. How
about that? Movies are good?
Speaker 4 (01:31:47):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:31:47):
I don't love them, But.
Speaker 3 (01:31:50):
I don't have enough time to sit there and watch
a book I read unless I'm obsessed.
Speaker 5 (01:31:55):
Watch the book I read. Well, I just know people
that like, we're obsessed with those books.
Speaker 4 (01:32:02):
Do you have enough time to read the book? Yeah,
then you have enough time to watch the movie.
Speaker 1 (01:32:06):
No, that's two different segments of time.
Speaker 5 (01:32:09):
I watched.
Speaker 6 (01:32:10):
I read four of the books and then I watched
the first movie and I was like, nope, over it.
Speaker 5 (01:32:14):
I just the book, all right, good to know? Okay, Well,
I so on that note, I like to read the books.
Speaker 3 (01:32:23):
Like if I see something is coming out and it
intrigues me, I see a trailer, and it's based on
a book. I have to read the book first because
you can't go backwards in that. But when you watch
the trailer, the faces get in your head, which is fantastic.
So you have the faces so that the movie won't
be ruined because I've done that so many times where
(01:32:45):
I've read a book and see the movie based on
the book and I'm like, that's not what I made
up in my head. That is really just watch the
movie first, No, the trailer first. Then I read the book,
then I watched the movie. I get that, which is
why I'm going with the Hunger Games.
Speaker 5 (01:33:02):
Oh good movies. Wow, I like those movies.
Speaker 3 (01:33:06):
A little mocking Jay, but yeah, but I saw that
as soon as I found out it was Jennifer Lawrence.
And I think the books were out for a while.
Books are really good beforehand, I read excellent. I read
them and then I really got into the movie. That
is something anders that I had time for. I read
the books and I watched the movies afterwards, and I
(01:33:29):
very much enjoyed that. I think it's a really good trilogy,
and I like the way they wrapped it up. I
felt satisfied with the ending, kind of because you kind
of get enthralled in whatever love stories are going on there.
Speaker 5 (01:33:42):
I'm like, oh, that's not the one I wanted.
Speaker 3 (01:33:45):
But I very much enjoyed it, and I was completely entertained,
and I had my different rooting segments for each character
also where I was surprised at times I was.
Speaker 5 (01:34:01):
Invested in other things, and then I was like, oh,
that was like basically I just watched a war movie
without knowing I was watching a war movie.
Speaker 6 (01:34:11):
I feel like they did a really good job too
of like reading, or at least for me reading the
book and then watching the movie, it felt like, Okay,
this isn't too far off what I imagined, Like, yes,
they adapted.
Speaker 3 (01:34:20):
It, yes, yes, and I as I like reading more
than watching, and I I respect people who do that well,
producers who do that well, and directors and actors.
Speaker 1 (01:34:33):
Yes, not the things, but I think they've picked it
up in the like like I think the series Lord
of the Rings decided, especially in season two, to like, hey,
we know we missed this, this, and this from the
book originally, so we're going to throw that in there.
So like in that regard, the franchise overall picks up
(01:34:53):
where the pieces were missed.
Speaker 4 (01:34:54):
Well, it's funny because I think that the franchise that
follows closest to the books Harry Potter, because literally the
author helped write the movie.
Speaker 1 (01:35:05):
So I'm not I'm not saying like that.
Speaker 6 (01:35:07):
I think it was just the special effects that you
wanted to actually know why I didn't like the Harry
because when they played Quidditch, I was like, well, this
looks way too fake.
Speaker 1 (01:35:16):
You're not wrong, and that bothered me.
Speaker 5 (01:35:18):
I was like, this is they can make it.
Speaker 4 (01:35:21):
I'm telling you that the first movie is the worst one.
It's it's c g I is awful.
Speaker 5 (01:35:25):
Yeah, and it is way cooler than this.
Speaker 1 (01:35:28):
It's very bad.
Speaker 4 (01:35:29):
Second one is not great. The third one really picks
up everything. After three is really really good.
Speaker 1 (01:35:34):
So I think we're on the final pick, is it?
Speaker 3 (01:35:36):
Chris? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:35:37):
This was tough. I mean I really want to take
Rush Hour, but then the TV series that came out
was just awful, so that doesn't help at all.
Speaker 2 (01:35:44):
I get the whole thing. I don't want that crap.
I would take Toy Story, but I feel like there's
another one. I would take Diehard, but I'm like, eh,
it's good but no. Terminator good but but I'm like, nah,
the Matrix.
Speaker 1 (01:36:01):
You have to take resurrections and that's just pathetic, and
then bad Boys. So I'm gonna go with Aliens. Though.
Give me Alien. You get so much content with this,
You get even Prometheus, you get that's everything, everything, and like,
you know what, prometh is one of my favorite. You
get Romulus, you get yes, and it's I'll get at
(01:36:22):
the last pick, So I'll take it. Give that's a
really good It was an alien? Is it just Alien? Yeah?
The Alien Predator franchise, because that's a yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:36:31):
Alien first, cheesy, but it was a pretty good. Deadpool
was part of the X Men.
Speaker 1 (01:36:38):
Yeah, I mean I've kind of argued myself into thinking
that you have a case for Deadpool being included in this,
especially since none of us chose Deadpool.
Speaker 5 (01:36:46):
Okay, in my mind it was on my list, but
in my mind it is included. Yes, see, I feel like.
Speaker 1 (01:36:52):
Since nobody chose Deadpool, she gets dead Pool. But Chris,
I mean, you get so much content here. Alien pretty
damn good. There's a couple there.
Speaker 4 (01:37:02):
Alien Covenant is not for I love Covenant really, Yes,
that's that the story David Shaw and wanted to Live
Forever and a robot.
Speaker 2 (01:37:11):
I'm like, whoa, what is going on here? So yeah,
I'm a huge fan of Covenant. That's I've watched that
a couple of times. Promethe Prometheus is just like, can
we g another one?
Speaker 1 (01:37:20):
Maybe? Perhaps? No, no, because how would we get another
I mean they literally Alien Covenants the sequel, I know,
but I want another one. He wants an animated remake,
remake it. I don't care what they do, give me,
give me another one. I want to know more about
the giant beings if anything. Well, Prometheus is the giants
is like the earliest in the time. Have you seen
(01:37:41):
the Oh yes, the giants that created us beans. What
you could do is you could do a pre Prometheus movie.
Speaker 4 (01:37:51):
I have literally only seen Alien. I haven't seen anything else.
I haven't seen Prometheus. I haven't seen Alien Covenant. Yeah,
you should watch Prometheus.
Speaker 1 (01:38:00):
Do a do a movie on Wayland Enterprises and how
they built the ship and held.
Speaker 2 (01:38:04):
But I still want to know more about the beings,
the pre prometheans. I want to know more about them
if they created us.
Speaker 5 (01:38:09):
Oh so it creates curiosity for you, what.
Speaker 1 (01:38:14):
From?
Speaker 6 (01:38:14):
But anyway, I think Alien and Ghostbusters were kind of
the same thing because she gets like Sigourney Weaver and.
Speaker 5 (01:38:22):
A lot of good franchise.
Speaker 1 (01:38:24):
I didn't then I think, though, is it really though?
Speaker 4 (01:38:28):
But I always actually say nostalgia and people that like
it just want to go back to the eighties.
Speaker 1 (01:38:33):
I mean, like, there's to go back to the eighties
right now. It's been crap since.
Speaker 6 (01:38:38):
I wouldn't say it's a great I mean I liked
Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters too.
Speaker 3 (01:38:42):
Like the Yeah, but since then then, since then, I
liked the reboot just because it was different enough to
be a new movie.
Speaker 1 (01:38:49):
Kerrie Coon and Paul Rudd, they're great actors, but boy,
they just blew that to Kingdom.
Speaker 5 (01:38:54):
I don't believe they can bust any ghosts? Wait? Which one?
Which one was that I was talking about?
Speaker 1 (01:39:00):
Okay, I like moving forward, Jessmin Wait, no, no, no?
Which which one? Uh? Paul?
Speaker 5 (01:39:06):
I was talking about the four?
Speaker 1 (01:39:10):
You mean the one that gets completely forgotten? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:39:12):
Yeah, that was.
Speaker 1 (01:39:14):
I was thoroughly That was. That was for Saturday Night
Live cast members who said, let's see if we can
do something fun with Chris Hemsworth.
Speaker 5 (01:39:22):
I like, I like, and also he's pretty.
Speaker 6 (01:39:26):
I wouldn't mind if someone was like, hey, do you
want to do something fun with Chris Hemsworth, I'd be like, yes,
I do.
Speaker 1 (01:39:32):
That was okay, all right. I think that's it, Chris.
What are our teams? Indiana Jones for Jackson who first
as Ashley Indiana Jones, Batman and x Men, who was
the second overall pick, and Star Wars Lord of the
Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean Classic. Third is Jackson
mc u Star Trek and Fast and the Fear. I like,
(01:39:54):
I like my personal Jessmine went with j Park Transformers,
what was your last pick again?
Speaker 5 (01:40:00):
Hunger Games?
Speaker 1 (01:40:01):
And then I went with James Bond, Mission Impossible and Aliens.
I think it's between the three of you. I think
I think the three of you, but I mean that's
elite level. I don't think we missed one. I don't
think we missed a.
Speaker 4 (01:40:17):
Yeah, it was on my list, but Harry Pottery talk
we did.
Speaker 1 (01:40:24):
Okay. I think that's it. We'll figure out, Uh, let's
plug everybody stuff. I'm Jackson on radio everywhere you get
you stuff, Jessmin, go ahead and we'll go around the.
Speaker 3 (01:40:31):
Table at Justin m McIntyre without the E on the
end because not enough characters.
Speaker 5 (01:40:37):
That's a long name. It's a weird one.
Speaker 4 (01:40:40):
Andrews Hurst. If you're listening to us for this long,
thank you?
Speaker 5 (01:40:44):
Is it always this long?
Speaker 1 (01:40:45):
No, we're a half hour over see Kid two zero six.
Speaker 5 (01:40:52):
At Ashley, Lila Ryan.
Speaker 1 (01:40:53):

which I'll hit right now. That'll do, don't kid, that'll do.
I love Shrek
