like I was on spak Ye. Yeah, I feel like
I was space here.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Chris, don's what to do his hands?

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Can you have a minimum amount?

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Clap? Clap clap one name? Who are you steal? Some
man just want to wash the world.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
But let's see you drinking one that because you.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Think you're Let's rock. Let's rock today.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
You know, we didn't do an episode in May.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Our last episode was April thirtieth's Wild.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
We we skipped a month. Boys, we did lots of
TV was happening during that time.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Anders did get what two new jobs?

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Right?

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Basically Andrew's got two new jobs. Chris, we don't have
anything to say.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
You have no vacation. You gotta do right.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
You were on vacation for a long time in Saint
Martin right, I was it.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
It was beautiful.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
It was great, good time, good scenery. Man, watching those
planes land right over you was kind of that was
kind of cool. I'm not going to lie. It was
impressive because one wrong turn and we're all toast.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Literally, you picked a great time to go on vacation.
I'm just going to say that.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Hollywood Weekly, folks, we are three sports radio producers who
finally have a podcast to talk about something. I mean,
my gosh, it's been so long, but were welcome you
back to Hollywood Weekly. My name is Jackson Felts. I'm
alongside Anderson Hurst and Christopher Kidd.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Again.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
We have this movie and TV podcast and we just
have been dropping the ball for the last month. But
we are back on it now and we hope to
have more consistent episodes moving forward. And there is so
so much to get to on My list is ridiculously long. Chris,
you have seen the new mission impossible, So we're gonna

(02:05):
ask for a you know what, let's just start there
because I think that, you know, we let's just start
with the most recent thing going on right now. Spoiler
free thoughts on the final Reckoning as mission. We were
just jumping right in. I mean, I don't know. I
don't have anything else. There's so much news, there's so
much to cover. We aren't going to be doing a
draft this episode, I don't think, because there's just so
much to discuss. So if anybody else has anything to

(02:25):
say before we just jump in, I'm ready to just
cannonball into the deep end of this pool.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Yeah, there's a lot to get to end or Last
of Us. Yeah, I'm not fully caught up on Last
of Us yet. I'm three episode five? Why have two more?
But I'm fine. I'm honestly, I've played the video game,
so I'm almost am open to spoiler content, maybe spoilers,
maybe not full on spoiler, but just you know, you

(02:53):
know the direction the story is, yesing, yes, So just
in case they change some things, you can you can
just kind of talk about your thoughts about it. I
already have thoughts on I.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Can tell you from having listened to the official podcast
of The Last of Us from Craig Mason, Neil Druckman,
and Troy Baker that they don't they don't change too
much from the games other than rearranging one scene from
one place in the game to another.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Place in the episode. That's the one thing they do.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
I got you so, but I am curious about Mission Impossible.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Yeah, Chris, I'm seeing it on Wednesday. My tickets are bought.
I'm ready to go. What do we think Mission Impossible?
The Final Reckoning.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
It was good.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
I just want more, but I'm not going to get more.
But that they noted it from the jump to the end.
The ending is it's so real because I don't know
if you remember the first Mission Impossible where he's on
the street walking around, he's looking at all his friends
and he's seeing people. You know, it's just a casual
just you get that same element towards the end of
the film. It's just really done really well. Straight to

(03:50):
the ending well because it ties a roll into how it.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Started in the first film.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
You like a good book end.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
So it was just like wow, you know I remember
seeing that nineteen ninety five. Me and I watched it
probably in the late two thousand.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Let me ask this really quick, because I watched Dead
Reckoning Part one a week and a half ago. Yeah,
you'll you're but do I need to go watch number
one again?

Speaker 1 (04:12):
No? Okay, no, you need to watch number one period.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
No, because they do a good job of actually tying
in some characters from really from the first film, which
is crazy because I was like, I didn't even recognize dude.
But okay, thank you for telling me that, because they
actually walk you through that because there is it's an
important context to the film. So they did a really
crazy grab there thirty years later. Alrighty then, so it

(04:37):
was a good movie, a little long, so two hours
and forty minutes.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
So this is the last one.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
I believe this is it. They're not making any more
after this.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
How many times have you heard like this is the
final or this is the last and then it doesn't
end up being.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Literally called the final reckoning?

Speaker 4 (04:50):
I know, but you never know. Yeah, not to mention
he funnels money. He follows up with his infamous running
scene where he is sprinting his ass off of course
and he is man form, looks good, weirdest run and
he does it. You know, he gets it done. But
just a great film. It ties in you're wondering, oh
what is this key? Okay, we well, how's it? It's

(05:12):
all okay? Total Let me let me.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Ask this well with no spoilers, because the the internet
has been a buzz about some underwater scene. I don't
want you to give us the context of what happens
under the water, but people are losing their minds over
an quote underwater scene.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Losing their minds in a good way or not good way,
good way.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
I mean, this is like something crazy. This is nuts.
How did Tom Cruise pull this off? Because he's Tom Cruise,
So I guess without without telling us what happens this
underwater seeing the internet's losing its mind about you.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Remember when Danos defeated the Avengers.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
Yeah, snap, snap, yeah, yeah, that's like sheez It's like, wow,
you and we're.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Seeing this right, Hey, can we rewind that? No? Okay,
that ass because that was crazy? He did all that. No,
is it better than the Fallout one? Because the Fallout one?

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Fallout it is what it is. It's better than Fallout.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
It's a the movie. I'm talking about the stunt.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
No that that scene is like, No, fall wasn't the
falling Out.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
I would say, there's there's just the fallout, the big
the big like when he has the mask on and
he's falling from like super high up.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Oh, is that the the what do they call that?
When you dive out of the plane that high Halo jump.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Yeah, Halo altitude.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
There's two Halo jump.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
Because the plane scene is just as crazy, and you've
seen the previews of the The plane scene is flying
through the hills where there's some stuff in there that
you're like, only Tom Cruise, I mean.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
Are you trying to can we rewind? No?

Speaker 2 (06:45):
I can't possibly be Like the plane is flying through
the cliffs and he's off the edge, Yes, that can't possibly.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Halo Jump is the one on taking the Halo jump
is epic, and that one is well when you when you.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Put into account how actually tough he makes it look
and still gets done, You're like, okay, only a certain
amount of people could probably do that. Would you be,
you know, gasping for air? And when you're watching, you're like, yeah,
he's definitely fighting elements being on a plane. Like it
all makes sense. It's not like, oh, that looked easy.
This is definitely a movie. It's like, you know, if

(07:17):
I tried that, I die. Is it your favorite of
the series? I I know it's fresh.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
There's there's been so many good Rogue Nation was great,
Ghosts Fallouts the best, I would say.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
The way they ended it, it has to be up there.
You have to have a conversation. You can't just say nope,
this is my Fiel still favorite because of how good
of a job they put A.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Ball tomatoes disagrees. I don't care a rotten tomatoes, which
is low for an opening, Like that's a bit shocking.
The others are like ninety five plus.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Chris is selling this is like a night would you
get a hundred? You have it a ninety four? Ninety four?

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Okay, all right, all right, so you're saying it's on
par at least the question.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Okay, I'm just saying, like for me, Fallout it's a
perfect action movie.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
Was a villain was incredible.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
The bathroom fight scene is like that is like that
that bathroom fight scene just the raw and you know,
just harsh nature, the no score element of it. Like
that fight scene is one of my favorite fight scenes
I've ever seen in any entertainment.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
No, I'm with you there, I fall it's my favorite ones. Yeah, yeah,
I know, I'm excited though I haven't been. Like it's
funny the last two like movies that I've like purposely
gone and like, okay, we we're planning out this to
go see in a theater? Was is this mission impossible?
And Top Gun the last.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Two biggest movie sorry still the biggest action movie star.
I did hear that the script is written for the
next Top Gun movie.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Really, so that's done and I think it's the same.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
They can't do any of these. I'm wondering if.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
I'm wondering if Tom Cruise isn't in the new Top Gun.
I'm wondering if he officially hands this thing off to
to who is the guy who played Rooster? And then
you also had he's in Twisters. I know you're talking
about the handsome white dude wasn't but it isn't dating
Sidney Sweeney. Let me see my day. I'm gonna google
Sydney Sweeney boyfriend. It's not gonna see if it pops

(09:25):
up though, because Glenn Powell and I didn't even need
to look see didn't actually do it? Still pull out
Glen Powell and then whoever it was opposite of Glen Powell.
I wonder if they take over the Top Gun franchise.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
They were great. I mean, he's like the next big thing,
so wouldn't surprise me at all. Yeah, yeah, anything else
you watched recently Chris.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Chris was just starting with you. Go ahead, please, the
lists are long, so we're starting with you.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Ye saw Sinners. I actually watched it again on Saturday night.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
We need to talk centers.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
It's a great movie.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
Stop and talk centers.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Now, just go yours? Well, where do you want to start?
You seen it?

Speaker 4 (10:01):
Well?

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Do we need to keep spoilers off the table? You go, okay,
why are you seen it yet? I didn't grab me,
I will say, And it didn't grab me at.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
First, but I'm glad I didn't grab me. That's why
you should go see.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
See And that's thing. It didn't grab me either. And
then my wife was all like we have.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
To see guess and your wife was like nope, nice
and I.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Was kind of just like okay, like you know what, fine,
let's let's suspend an afternoon and go see it.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
It blew my mind.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
Really well because they build up to it. You don't
just jump into vampires. Give my wife's not into the vampires.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
I'm not saying.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
Like like the first eighty minutes is like storyline, yeah,
the last forty okay, like thirteen to twenty five minutes
is like okay, and see.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Here's the thing I think that you would really like it.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Anders is because it's such a more than anything else,
it's a musical, like the element for music in this movie.
The score is so special, The score is incredible, But
then how they functionally use music in the plot itself,
there's a there's a certain scene that kind of goes
this element of like there are certain musicians on earth who,

(11:07):
because they are such brilliant musicians, they can harness the
history of music around them and sort of bring in
various So what they do is, as he's playing, they
suddenly welcome in everybody from I guess ancient human history,
you know, banging drums all the way to futuristic guitar players.
And they have these like eight different you know, genres

(11:29):
and tires of music all coalescing with each other. And
it's this brilliant, like four three and four minute scene
of all these different eras of music playing together.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
So basically, you want to amaze the movie is about
without spoiling it. You can spoil it, just go no,
because I think you should see it. I don't want
to tell you.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
He's not gonna say I will. So basically what happens,
it's it's it's these two brothers. They're twin brothers, and
it's both played by Michael B. Jordan, and they are
incredibly playing a question instantly, yeah and no question, And
the whole time I'm also trying to think about who's
a vampire?

Speaker 1 (12:02):
That was a fun thing.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
No, no, But anyway, So there's two brothers who worked
for al Capone in Chicago, the Mob, and they're gangsters
and they decide, you know what, we're done with the
gang life. We're gonna move home to was it Mississippi
or Alabama or Georgia or something like that.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
They I think it was miss Mississippi, Clarksville, Mississippi.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
So they decided we're going to move back to our
hometown in Mississippi. We're going to buy a place that
we can turn into a club for our community, and
we're just going to help our community and kind of
turn our backs, essentially on the Mob. And it's these
two brothers, and the most of the movie is just
the plot of these two guys buying and setting up
this club for a massive party that night.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Hey, we're home, we're back. We got this place.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
It's a place for us to all dance and enjoy
and have a you know, have fun. I mean it's
early nineteen hundreds, yeah, thirty for a prominent.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Dura prohibition or no, I think so the big especially.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
This is a this is a black community where so
like we're gonna we want people to have a place
in the Deep South. So ultimately what it turns into
is they have this massive party.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
Oh but there's vampires.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
So that's the twist.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
No, but you see him coming in very obviously. You
see it coming. In the opening of the movie. They
talk about what music can do. I could bring life
from the present and the past crap. So it was
it was actually the music that brought on this evil.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
That's pretty cool. And the dad.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
Vampires hear the music and then they're like, they're like,
we want to see our ancestors.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
We want to capture that music.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
And the dad warns them, he's like, hey man, this
guitar it can either you know, it's gonna bring some demons.
Are you ready to face those demons? And that's a
good point. They thought it was like, uh metabolic, Yeah,
they were actual demons.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
That was right.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
They brought actually demons. And how does Sammy handle it?
How does everyone hand.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
How does everybody hand? And from the beginning to the end.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
The end is the bestretty much the best part because
you see what music does and how it changes his
It's still like.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
I don't know really what's gonna happen, and it's great.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Also, we'll mention and and Chris, I know this is
why you loved it, and we can get into this
right now. Obviously everything we've set up is why it's
It's a very very cool story. But it's also one
of the raunchiest movies I have ever seen. I mean,
Hailey Steinfeld has a scene that went viral and she
was I think she was talking. I think it's her
third line in the movie, because she walks over to

(14:29):
Michael B. Jordan's character, she says a couple of lines
and then she blurts out the line, Uh, well, I
thought you changed your mind last night when you had
your tongue in.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
My blank yep, So she blurts that out.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
Later, there's when when somebody turns into a vampire, they
go to their spouse who isn't a vampire, and they say,
you know, I know the way you you like to
be tasted, and it's like wow, And there's these lines
and the very sexually explicit scenes.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Very they show a lot.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
And it's it's in a tasteful but also ridiculously raunchy way.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
Chris, I know you loved it.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
It was hilarious.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
The best scene is when the funniest scene is when
they're picking up corn bread and with what you.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
Know, they're picking him up because he his wife. He
was he's sharecropping.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
He's out there doing work and I'm not gonna be
Jordan's smokers like, hey, man, got a chance you to
make some money. And he's like, I'm with my wife. Man,
you see her right there, and he's like, I mean, shoot,
the amount of money I'm about to give you, maybe
you should let you put your meat.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
In her mouth.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
And he didn't say. The words he used were way
more color and more funny for the time. Say. The
wife was like, well, how much are you paying? So
she's like, I'm all in how much money? And then
Cornber is like all right, let's do this. So that
was just a funny scene, and there's tons of that
through the movie. While you take it serious, I thought

(15:51):
Coogler did a really good job of just having fun
with it and realizing they're still human beings. They're having fun. Yes,
they're sexual active. I mean, hell, there was a point
where I think gets stacked. He asked the young lady
to watch over the vehicle. He's like, Yo, if you
see too many people being around the car, hunk the horn,
I'm gonna pay you, you know, twenty five cents for
every minute I'm gone. Whatever it is. So he hunks.

(16:13):
She hunks the horn. He comes out two black dudes
shying to steal from him, come to final out. He
knows these black dudes.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
But oh, he know. He only finds out that he
knows the dudes after he shoots.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
I didn't want to I didn't want to tell you that.
I want you know, you watch that book. Shoots one
of him and he's like, oh, hey, how you doing.
It's like you just shot me. All of those one
of the vampires that comes back.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
No, no, no, these are He's in town, just visiting because
he wants to set up a party and he knows
there's some people that can help with that. But while
he's in the store trying to get some.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Supply, how vampires come into this lore? Like what music?
Where we stave been hiding this whole time. Well, people
that have just died or people that have been around
for jail.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
I think the simple answer to that is that they've
always been around.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
They've been around.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
But now music and the fact that the natives were
chasing this specific vampire and he ends up asking for assistance.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Finding his way through Mississippi and these white folks are like,
oh yeah, come on in.

Speaker 4 (17:04):
And they was like, hey man, that white man should not
be with you. And they're like, ain't no white man
in here? And he's like, okay, you know made Lord,
the Lord bless you. I don't think we've spoiled anything
that going. For anybody we got to go, I will
quickly tell anybody who hasn't seen it, you should see
it if you get the chance. But also, please, you
have no excuse does not see this weekend zero?

Speaker 3 (17:25):
But but well, what going on?

Speaker 1 (17:27):
He's like, three jobs, Hey, you haven't seen last of us?
All right? I keep telling you to watch that. You
have no excuse to watch that. Watch.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
That is true, Chris. As much as he needs to
watch that, you.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Need to write. So let's see.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Let's see while you while you're seeing, I will say
for anybody who hasn't seen Sinners yet, please do but also.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
Please please please Sunday.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
Okay, stop, stay through the credits, stay yes, And it's
how it ties into the beginning of the movie. It
puts a full amazing book book.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
It's an amazing.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
Bookended the book conversation with bookends.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
Sinners is awesome. A Sinners is an a move.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
To Sunday after after the Mariners, so you can see
it around six o'clock. At no excuse from you, buddy,
I'll give Sinners.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
You got to watch the last five I'm gonna watch that.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
Yeah, Chris, you would you would like?

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Don't have to do that? Yes, you do.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
You have no excuse. I have plenty next show in
my movie. I will not watch Sinners until you watch.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
The last What do you give Centers out of one
hundred ninety eight?

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Wow?

Speaker 4 (18:27):
Nothing's perfect massive, but nothing's perfect. You don't have a
perfect movie in your head.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
No, really, there's nothing's in one hundred.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
I can't give one hundred to anything. What's the highest
you have?

Speaker 4 (18:37):
Ninety eight ninety nine? I don't know, Probably like Moses
Jones another really.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
Epic mos dude, you love house.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
It's when you think about it, it's a really really
good film. Like I know the critics hated it, and
they're like, oh they did a poor jossh Like, you
like what you like? Man, The story and how they
told it and how the body works makes sense.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
We're talking about Osmoses Jones once again.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
I like, keep going, Chris, what else do you watch
of Evil Red? It's a Polish film. Polish film, but
you know you throw them subtitles on. You're like, I
got it, go ahead. So basically, it's about a young
lady's body is found on a beach and her lips
are missing, and they're like, oh, we remember this guy.

(19:17):
He was in prison for I think twelve years for
a murder exact same thing. Well, there's a little darker
story than that. It's perhaps not the same guy maybe.
So the young daughter that was killed. The mom is
actually a lawyer, she's a judge. She's a judge. So
she's like, okay, I want to figure this out. And
it turns dark real quick because she's finding out things

(19:41):
that she wouldn't want to know now, considering that it's
her daughter that's dead and the people that are close
to her are playing a role in this, and it
is the mom Yeah, it's one of those where it's
like ooh damn. And obviously gangs are involved and things
of that nature and powerful drug lords. But it was
a really good film. And I'm not the biggest person

(20:02):
in the watching subtitles, but yeah, where is it on.
It's on Netflix, Netflix, and it's called Colors of Evil Red.
So it's a really good movie. You can knock it
out and be like, wow, Okay, so murder for sure,
murder mystery, but thriller, murder my history.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Yeah, yeah, but definitely definitely. Yeah, how it sounds, I
have some drama elements.

Speaker 4 (20:21):
Oh, drama elements, you know, drugs, all of it. So
a really really well done film. And again I'm not
the biggest person for subtitle movies. You know, it's not
an American I'm really not wait it, but I was like,
I gotta give this a shot. It's been on my
list for a long time. So I ended up watching
it and I was very impressed. Obviously, I don't know
if you guys saw American Man Hunt Osama ban Lauden no.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
I have not. That was also really good, that kind
of documentary style.

Speaker 4 (20:45):
Yeah, three episodes about hour ten minutes each and how
they tracked him down. Just what America used to get
this guy is like kind of incredible use. My ignorance
was that the Seal Team six thing.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Yeah, OK, correct, Yeah, I mean that, and that was
I loved the the way that movie was made. I
just didn't feel like Thetar thirty. It's think zero thirty
with Jessica Chastain. But ultimately I just kind of felt
like that movie fell flat a little bit.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
So this Documan documentary.

Speaker 4 (21:12):
Doubles up and you get all the intail and all
the stuff that goes into finding someone that has disappeared
after nine to eleven, and they're just like, where is
this guy?

Speaker 1 (21:22):
They put in a lot.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
Of wark to do this, and people lost their lives
obviously trying to find this guy. American Man Hunt Osama
bin Laden. It's on Netflix. It's probably, I think the
top two show in the country right now. It was
really done well.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
Oh wow, lots of really good reviews.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
I just thought they nailed it, and I didn't know
a lot of the stuff that they did. Like obviously,
after they killed him, they threw him in the Indian seas,
the bottom of the ocean, and I did not know
that because they didn't want him to be memorialized in
the city that they captured.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
So American man Hunt is a is a documentary. They
hit each they hit different.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
Pieces of the September eleven, all the way until when
they get him, and you would never know the details.
It's kind of like with our jobs. People don't know
the background on what we do behind the scenes. They
just listened to the show and they're like, oh, that
was great. Did they interview actual members of sale Team six?
That's what I was getting to. They do all the ground.
You actually get to see and talk to the person

(22:20):
that killed or something. He tells you detail for detail
what happened that night, how they did it. Sign me
up and it was wild because you know, this is
a guy that killed someone. He was I'll never forget
when I was watching, he said, oh my god, Well
someone's right in front of me and he's there's a
ak on the ground or some was actually taller than
he thought he would be. He's like six four six'.
Five he's kind of. Old was it his like daughter

(22:41):
or something there? Too, yeah his son was? There actually
say the women were shielding. THEM i knew, That, yeah,
yeah they were shielding because they. Knew it wasn't, like,
oh we're coming to capture, You we're coming to kill.
You there's not we're going to bring you. Back you're you're.
Dead so they talk about that and just leading up
to the capture and well not the, capture the murder

(23:03):
of him and how they did. It and then you,
know they show tweets and just all the behind the.
Scenes LIKE i, mentioned with us as, producers no one
gets to know the ins and outs of what we
do for the radio, stations for the.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Shows people it was public at that. Time Was oboma
just coming out and saying we got.

Speaker 4 (23:17):
Them the craziest thing is how that came about is? Insane, Really,
yeah because when you're, watching like holy that's but just that.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
Reminds me of what we.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
Do oh my, gosh you just hear the. Products oh,
yeah They chris booked that person. There anderson knows that
guy and was able to get him on And ian
and those guys had a great time on the.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Show we'll shout out To, anderson but no one's gonna know.
That definitely a different way than Killing osama Bin. Laden
BUT i don't think that producers on a sports radio talk, station.

Speaker 4 (23:49):
The aspect of the, drones someone having to be up
at two am p s. T time to execute this
this exact that they're trying to get. Down it's a great.
Point so that was something THAT i Watched Black. Mirror
they nailed that one out side.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
It i've only seen Two Black mirror episodes so, far
and the new. One, yeah AND i saw The Paul
giamanni one where the pictures can take him in the.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Past that was so.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
Cool so let's, see we're twenty four minutes. In the
chances my wife's. Listening twenty four minutes in is so. Small, yeah,
Gonna i'm gonna go for this right.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Now so it's.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Interesting, obviously there's this great episode With Paul giomanni and
this isn't expoder or, anything where he is living alone
and a company calls him to revisit his time with a,
woman a girlfriend when he was in college like thirty years,
ago and to help with her funeral and just add

(24:46):
to like the stories and videos and images that he may,
have and he's able to look at pictures and then
connect into his past through the. Pictures and it's this
really interesting WHERE i, mean just, anybody no matter what
age you are you automatically then you do want to
go back to your history and look through your, pictures,
man try to relive those.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
Moments, Chris i'm not sure if you do the same
THING i.

Speaker 4 (25:08):
Did, OH i really WISH i could just jump in because,
oh that was twenty, thirteen my first YEAR i watched
in The state. University, right, WOW i remember that party
in the back, room just like they was.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
Smoking.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
Yeah, Yeah and you could go into the whole element
of this black. Mirrors you could go into that moment
LIKE i wouldn't be.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
Surprised did you change? Anything, well, see that's not you.

Speaker 3 (25:30):
Can't you can just live in the.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
Environment you could only live in.

Speaker 4 (25:33):
It and his problem was there was so much vituol
and anger that he couldn't even remember her.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
Face and he couldn't and he xd her out of various.
Photos in the photo.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
He just remembers the. Anger he just remember there.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
And eventually he finally finds one of her and he
eventually sees. Her but it's so interesting because WHAT i
did WAS i went back through it because the WAY
i organized my pictures on my phone is through, albums
AND i organized it through years AND i can always
just go back to. Years so WHAT i did WAS
i just started going back to years and looking back
through the. Pictures AND i dated a girl for a
year in high, school my senior year of high, school and,

(26:07):
LIKE i only have like a couple pictures of.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
Her and it was one of those.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
Things where it was sort of just like you go
back in those moments and not that you would change,
anything not that it's, like it's not that you miss.
It you just go back to these. Moments, YES i
MEAN i freaking go back to like a PICTURE i
had with, her like freaking before a high school, dance
AND i go back to that moment and be, like, oh,
yeah it was, cold it was breezing right up off the,
water and, MAN i you know this and, that and.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
Just remember what it was like to be that, young you, know.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
You know a, way AND i remember how how you,
know SKINNY i, was and HOW i had no muscles
AND i couldn't pick her, up and there was these
various little things and it's funny you go back into these.
Moments AND i scrolled, through you, know dozens of pictures
and did that exact thing With. Chris i'm not sure
if you do the, same but That Black mirror episode
took me into a different. World AND i stayed up

(26:54):
late that, night like really, late just staring at old,
pictures trying to like live in those.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
Moments it.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
Was it was a TRANSFORMATIVE tv experience for.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
Me what do you?

Speaker 4 (27:05):
GOT i remember this, night look at That look At,
chris look at Young, chris.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
Ex. GIRL i remember the photo she had her big.
Camera she said, smile, babe AND i.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
Smiled and now we're not together, obviously and things got.
Sour who cares about, That but just remembering that, MOMENT
i was, Like, wow that Was it's funny that you
talked about because you look at you you bring back
to those pictures like prom, pictures, right and it takes
you back to those moments that episode. Was i'm trying
to look at my eyes to see like the flash
and the, camera but obviously my eyes are, brown dark.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Brown you can't see in the.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
Darkness But i'm just like in that, moment like that'd
be cool IF i can go back and see everyone
in the room and be, like, oh, yeah they were
dancing over, there people over here. Talking we were at
the table eating and she's, like, babe take a picture and.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
You don't want, to, like it's not that you miss the,
person you just you want to revisit the moment.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
That was the moment that came to My mind's funny
that you talked about doing, that BECAUSE i do that quite. Often,
Honestly i'm a very nostalgic, person not just for like
people or, anything but just like in moments in my
life THAT i kind of want to just. Remember and
it's not just photos that do that to. You it's
music for me WHEN i hear certain, music LIKE i
go back And i'm, like oh my, God i'm, transformed.

(28:19):
Furious so these we're talking we're In Hollywood weekly right.
Now you can do that with certain movies THAT i
saw at that specific. Time video games is a great
one for. Me LIKE i remember playing a certain video.
Game i'm, like, DAMN i want to redownload that old.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
Cod THAT i played the exactly like you just going
back and you're you are in the fields when you
start playing THOSE.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
I, mean who doesn't remember like Like buddying It up
on two exactly you co op the mission where you're
driving in.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
Front so, YEAH i still play a game now THAT
i like it's And i'm a little bit younger than, you,
Guys BUT i played a game through. College it actually
came out WHEN i was in, college BUT i still
play it with my college buddies now because that's kind
of what keeps us. Together we're all in different places
in our. Life but, yeah weird way to go on that,
tangent but it's, yeah it's those, things, Right, yeah it's

(29:05):
those elements that just bring you.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
Back and, Like i'm not as NOSTALGIC i. DO I
i do like connect the, nostalgia but like that episode
specifically triggered something in my head where it's, like, no,
really do go live back in those, moments because if
you do forget about these, things you may never be
able to visit them. Again and the element of Black
mirror is like, now if you have a picture of,
it you can visit it from however long it was a.
Go but that's not real. Life real life is you

(29:29):
want to make sure to continue to remember the memory,
moments right. Exactly AND i think that's the message of
it is is don't. Painful that's the thing that's the
message of the of this of this amazing Episode Paul,
giamani is no matter how painful the memory no matter
how much you don't like the people in the, picture
always remember it and, always you, know keep it in
mind because you want to be able to relive, it you,

(29:49):
know years down the.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
Road AND i don't know it.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Was it was a special, episode the video game one
where the video game.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Takes over the. World it was a great.

Speaker 4 (29:57):
Episode good MEROR i Think i've only watched a couple Of,
chris But i'm sure you watched more than more than a.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
Couple, WELL i have one more episode to. Go it
does feel like the season is pretty.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
Special they noted.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
It and then my last show to why BECAUSE i
know we still gotta get to you, Guys And i've
been on this for twenty. Minutes now you're good. Man
the last one that all references love death and. Robots
this season was. OKAY i still enjoyed. IT i thought
they they. DID i, MEAN i thought there was just
the previous.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Season you liked a lot.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
More, oh the previous, season all all seasons at shorts rightly.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Roughly four minutes to Eighteen, Okay SO i thought it was.
OKAY i was expecting.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
More there was still some comedic, elements, obviously like the
cat taking over the, WORLD i thought that that episode was.
HILARIOUS i love that because so, basically without spoiling, it
the cat gets a pet robot and the robot is very.
Intelligent it's a smart ROBOT'S i want to, say let's
just say that you're twenty. Forty, yeah so the robots, like,
OH i could talk to the count fifteen and the

(30:55):
cat was, like hold, up you can understand. Me and he's, like,
YES i have the power or to understand it basically. Everything,
yeah what do you want to? Do he was, like
WHAT i take? Over i'd like to run. THIS i
want TO i want to want all my companion voice the.
CAT i need to know who the voice of the cat.
Is oh, yeah you probably google. It but it was
what it was Very it was hilarious and just how
it all went together and how robotics played a role

(31:18):
in this guy just being the leader of all cats and.
Dominating it was A it was a great little eight
minutes and it was. Funny so there are episodes that you,
know were, funny episodes that were more, serious Like Giants
taken over The world and things of that, Nature but
previous season was a banger and this one was.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Okay Chris parnell is the voice of the cat that
now And NOW i just wanted to.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
Pass, yeah he smoked the. Role, yeah it's eight minutes
of your. Time it's it's a, funny good.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
One With jerry And rick And morty by the, way
you guys and the.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
Shows i've been watching some of the. Recommendations, YEAH i love.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
THAT i what.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
Wow thirty two minutes into the pod and we finished
With chris's.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
BUNCH i don't have a ton so you can take
out of the rest of. It but why don't you
quit hit yours?

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Then and because we we and save And or for last,
time we can Talk, andor but go, ahead it's And.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
Or last Of. US i TOLD i kind of previewed
this for the past, month even leading up to our
break that, Like i'm just going all in on these two.
Shows and it's funny BECAUSE i went all in and
then didn't even Finish last Of us because your business. Jobs,
yeah BUT i, ALSO i KNOW i mentioned video games,
earlier But i'm gonna go a Little nerd weekly here
instead Of Hollywood. WEEKLY i played Through god Of war twenty,

(32:27):
eighteen which is just critically one of the best video
games of all, time just. Period most people view it
as the at least top. Five it's complete, story like
you just play through the, story And i'm telling you
it's like it's Like last Of us set In nordic
what you McCall it Lore and if anyone's played the

(32:51):
Original god Of war, games it's about a this, God,
krados and even those were very highly, regarded and it
takes place In greek mythology and he his family gets.
KILLED i forget by. WHO i didn't even play the original.
ONES i just played this, one and he his vengeance

(33:13):
is to go kill all of The greek. Gods so you're.
You you play As krados and you go Kill, zeus
you go Kill, poseidon you go kill All, hades all
of These and it's such a really cool design with
amazing score by the, way Like i'm Talking lord of
The rings level. Score, uh and it's just so well. Done,
anyways that's the original. Game so the new game they

(33:35):
finished the original game in like two thousand and, six
two thousand and seven, maybe but they brought, back brought him,
back but in The nordic God so we're talking, thor
we're talking like all of these Like nordic, lore and
it kind of it references his previous, life but also

(33:55):
he's like kind of ashamed by it and doesn't want
to go back into that like vengeance. Past he has
a son now that he's trying to, raise and you're
basically kind of walking around this. World your wife just Died,
faia and you're trying to bring her ashes with your
son to the top of the mountain to let them,
off because that was her one dying. Wish and it's

(34:19):
the things you go. THROUGH i won't spoil. Anything i'm
just saying if you are any sort of video game.
Aficionado it was originally a PlayStation, only but they just
released it a few years ago ON pc AND i
have A, pc So i've been like just kind of
playing through all those, games Including last Of us which
is on that as, well that are kind of like,
that and it's just it's just. Amazing the story is.

(34:42):
Amazing the score is absolutely.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Phenomenal while you mentioned score was interesting because BECAUSE i
just decided to look up who did, it So bear
McCreary did the score of The god Of War. Games,
yes it's funny you Mentioned lord of The rings because
he does a bunch of scores for The lord of The,
Rings rings Of.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
Power really for THE. Tv they're, saying and he's done.
It he's.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
DONE i, mean, his, his, his his catalog of the
things that he's done is so ridiculously. Long he did
thirty eight episodes Of Black, sales WHICH i think is
alost the entire, show and that had a great score.
It SO i, mean this guy into it does lots
lots and lots of.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
Stuff, YEAH i, know but we talked. Good, yeah he's
it's it's, awesome. Man and, LIKE i, know video games
aren't for, everyone BUT i think it's a great immersive.
Experience if you're looking to experience a, story but you're
playing through the, story you have such a deeper connection to.
It even if it's just like these little prompts that
are telling you to do, it it doesn't the character
doesn't do it unless you tell it to, right, Right

(35:41):
so it's it's so much more like impactful to you
as a. Person and that's one of the REASONS i
Think last Of us connected to so many. People is,
like especially the new, season because anyone we can get
to that, later but anyone's a perfect.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
Transition let's do, it let's do, it so, like let's
let's Talk last Of. Us, yeah because we talked About joel's.

Speaker 4 (36:00):
Death we, did we, did we, Did, YES i can
see it right.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
Here we. Did we talked About joel the last episode
that we.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
Did AND i, guess as we kind of just opened
the conversation On last Of us, here there will be
spoilers up through episode, FIVE i, guess and then we'll
spoil some of the general story.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
Here AND i guess we already just Mentioned joel.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
Dies but to me that that happens early in season,
two AND i expressed my concerns over where the show
was going to go because the WAY i said, it
AND i THINK i said this on the last, podcast
was this show must now reinvent. Itself it was a
show about one, thing and it has to reinvent itself
as another. Thing AND i was concerned that it would

(36:46):
be able to successfully reinvent.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
It you're not alone in, this by the, way it. Was,
yeah that's the main reason that the Second game was
so controversial is because so many people Loved joel and
Loved ellie and their relationship that they just didn't even
give it a.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
Chance it was a show of out their relationship and
now it has to be a show about her vengeance
and essentially well and, right but it's it's a show about.
HER i guess life After joel is the is the
new story of The last Of. US i had concerns
over WHETHER i would.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
Buy in continue those, CONCERNS i do you? DO i
do continue those?

Speaker 2 (37:20):
Concerns, OKAY i THINK i think it isn't a spoiler
to say where we leave off as a major cliffhanger
at the end of the second, season and we we
knew it was going to go that way because we
knew they were going to do a third, season and
the second and third season we're going to cover the second,
game so it was obviously going to be a cliffhanger
that was that was. CLEAR i won't spoil people on

(37:40):
what that cliffhanger, is but ultimately that's where we're.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
At, so but WHAT i.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
Ended up getting anders was Post joel's, death what we,
GOT i think was A tv show that felt too
much like a video game, really AND i felt like
what we ended up getting was a lot of filler
episodes where you just have to go on side, mission side,
mission side, mission and it isn't the main, quest AND

(38:07):
i JUST i got tired of the of necessarily the
cut scenes and of the side, quests AND i kind
Of i'm watching this this kind of teenage girl who
just is is for lack of a better, Term i'll
kind of be blatant about. This she's, Unlikable she isn't
good at her main. Quest she constantly gets gets, sidetracked
making bad decisions relating to what she actually cares. About.

(38:30):
Uh they do things that just simply they can't. Explain
up through episode, five what was the last.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
Thing you would have? Seen it would have been she
let's see what's his? Name who's The asian? Guy? Jesse
jesse comes. In they were they were about to die
to these, forests, yes, well originally in the warehouse with

(38:58):
them being. Enclosed jess he saves them and then they
go to the forest and Then jesse Takes dina back
to the theater And ellie chooses to go to the hospital,
instead which means she's choosing to me like total, like all,
right AM i choosing love or AM i choosing? Hate

(39:19):
and she's choosing?

Speaker 2 (39:20):
Hate she, is, yes and does the how does that episode?
End i'm trying to remember if if it ends with
her finishing her objective in the, HOSPITAL i think it.
DOES i think it does because you see her go
into the hospital and then go into the basement and
kill that. Girl AND i think she gets one word

(39:43):
out of that girl and it's like wheel or something like.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
That she's trying to Find.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
Abby she's trying to Find, abby and she's the one
who Killed she goes in and and then YOU i
think at the very, end you see her walking back
towards the. Theater don't explain how she got from the
third floor or the second floor basement of the hospital
back to the theater right when there WAS i guess
only one way up in the, hospital, right but she

(40:08):
just magically got out of the basement of the. Hospital,
cool we're not going to explain. That, Great but also
it is just it's the unlikable element Of. Ellie it's
the decision she's, taking and it just ends up feeling
too much video game, me too Much, cutsceni and it
just it. DIDN'T i was worried about them reinventing, them
AND i just don't feel like they've successfully made us

(40:31):
root for this. Character i'm constantly rooting against her, saying what.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
The hell are you? Doing? Ellie, Uh, yeah that's not
the VIBE i. Get BUT i can see where you're getting.
That to.

Speaker 4 (40:44):
Me it's it's making her more relatable THAN i think
a lot of.

Speaker 1 (40:50):
Main characters would. Be she's more flawed than a lot
of main characters would, be and the main reason is
because she hasn't had parents for most for, life she
hasn't had a moral compass Like joel has been a moral,
compass And joel wasn't, perfect but.

Speaker 4 (41:02):
She's like she's flawed to the level of like A Walter.
White she's flawed to the level of like you, know
like like like, uh why she's.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
A Mad nan.

Speaker 3 (41:11):
Guy, yeah and she's just so.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
Terribly what don't you like about her in terms of? Unlikable?

Speaker 2 (41:16):
Okay, uh there's a few things specifically from the finale
and AND i and you just. Go so there's a
moment where she And jesse are trying to go Find
we'll do a couple things a get To, abby but
also uh Find tommy who's also In, seattle.

Speaker 3 (41:36):
And in doing, That.

Speaker 1 (41:39):
Ellie is.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
Uh they they encountered The Seattle group And Seattle groups
about to kill one of one of the the, saraphytes
And ellie wants to intervene and save this kid's life
when there's six wolves with with you, know with just
machine guns standing right, there and it's really it's this
one little, kid and you're about to give up not

(42:01):
only your place but Also jesse's place here hiding out
just to save this one. Kid, like think for a, Second,
ellie you can't save them, All like it doesn't make
you a good or bad. Person everybody is gray in the,
middle but you just can't out and just risk everything
because of one. Kid and it's just it's these things

(42:22):
where it's like just think for a. Second think for a.

Speaker 1 (42:24):
Second, YEAH i haven't gotten to that, episode So i'll
have to do some more evaluating WHEN i get to.

Speaker 2 (42:31):
That her obsession With, abby her obsession even after everything
that's kind of.

Speaker 4 (42:35):
Happening nina really enjoyed episode, five which is when her
And dina grow their relationship in multiple.

Speaker 1 (42:43):
Ways it was a good. Episode dina explains that she's,
Pregnant ellie gets, bitch she explains that she's, immune and
then they grow their relationship and, way and it really
seemed like to me That ellie was gonna kind, of you,
know grow out of her hate and go into like
lean into the love, exactly and like that's.

Speaker 3 (43:05):
Why it was so, good because you see her.

Speaker 1 (43:06):
Growing, yeah and like she even says multiple times, like,
oh what AM i? DOING i brought you into, this you're,
Pregnant let's go, Back, like let's go. Back, Yeah and
you could see her kind of going through the gears
of thinking through. Things she's still, nineteen so she's not
she's not A i mean technically an, adult but she's
she thinks she's a full on, adult but she's. Not we,
know the frontal lobe isn't fully developed until what age twenty? Seven,

(43:30):
Yeah so like you just these are things you go
through and, experience, Right and she's still like trying to
get through watching the one figure in her life just
get absolutely brutally murdered in a terrible. Way by the

(43:52):
way that she is just that's all she's felt for so.
Long so she's really like you. Could at the same,
time she Knows Ella.

Speaker 2 (43:58):
Ramsay sometimes she knows what he, Did LIKE i don't
think she, does, WELL i Guess i'm spoiling. It she
knows what he, Did, okay and it's sort of just
like girl was it more like she was kind of
guessing and she knew or that she, knew she, knew she.

Speaker 1 (44:14):
Knew she, Knew, okay like she was awake when, okay.

Speaker 2 (44:17):
She fully fully knew What joel did and sort of, like, yeah,
okay but then you add in all of, that plus
you add in But i'm trying to be picked my,
Way but then you add in the fact That dina's.
Pregnant it's, like, man, like just have some foresight to
what matters in life at.

Speaker 1 (44:36):
That AND i love her And dina's. Relationship that was
the something to lean into that she's choosing to give that.
Up but that's it's this cycle of vengeance that has
started all of, this, Right, yeah that's that's what Turned
joel into what he was at that. Point everyone kind
of Used joel as this perfect kind of. Character, definitely,

(44:57):
definitely and that's where she learned. It that's where she earned, it.
Right so it's, LIKE i get. IT i understand that
she's not the most likable, character AND i agree with.
YOU i Think dina is like my favorite character ever
by the. Way she is just so.

Speaker 2 (45:10):
Great isabella is incredible as a well written just.

Speaker 1 (45:16):
Like so, likable like her personality is, awesome reminds me
a little bit of my, wife to be, Honest.

Speaker 2 (45:21):
And then the next three episodes that you're gonna, see
she's she's, tremendous dude, nature she's she's.

Speaker 1 (45:27):
Awesome so high praise in that. ASPECT i actually Think
Bella ramsey gets a little underrated because you're, not, LIKE
i don't think you're supposed to Like ellie that much
because she's going through all of these emotions at the same, Time, like.

Speaker 2 (45:42):
Well fine That i'm rooting For. Abby i'm Officially i'm
officially on THE abb. Train i'm officially rooting For abby
Because i'm tired of rooting For.

Speaker 3 (45:49):
ALIE i can't root For allie.

Speaker 2 (45:51):
Anymore she's just she pisses me off at every, turn
and she's such an unlikable AND i JUST i constantly
she's rooting and she's going in the direction violence and
hatred instead of.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
Just that's human. Nature, though look at the rest of the.
WORLD i don't like the. World but that's that's too.

Speaker 4 (46:08):
Bad this is what the show it, does is it
shows you what our nature does to.

Speaker 2 (46:14):
EVERYONE i don't, obviously we don't have a full picture
Of abby yet. Completely that'll be a lot of season three,
Apparently BUT i JUST i JUST i don't know.

Speaker 1 (46:21):
It it's frustrating to. Me one quick thing before we move.
On it's weird because WHEN i talk to you about
it just in the office and, stuff you seem like
you liked it a lot more than you are. Now
and that's the.

Speaker 2 (46:30):
Thing the highs of this show are so. High the
highs of this show are so, obviously the further Away
i've gotten from the attack On jackson episode and the
better it. Is NO i was gonna say, that the
further Way i've gotten from, it the more APPRECIATION i
have for the storytelling and just the direction of. It

(46:52):
it's just a spectacular piece of. Filmmaking and then there's
a couple other episodes the one that you just mentioned at,
all as well as the penultimate episode of the second,
season and that are so high and six, Good uh, well.

Speaker 1 (47:04):
How many total episodes is there in the? Season? Seven
so they six is. Incredible SO i just sit finished
five AND i love, five so six five five is.
Good six is.

Speaker 2 (47:11):
Incredible and then THIS i have this attitude right now
BECAUSE i felt like the season finale was, bad and for, me,
LIKE i think we were looking at about a about
a eight out of ten on the scale for season.
Two it's for season, two and then for me it
like falls to a six or.

Speaker 1 (47:27):
Seven.

Speaker 2 (47:27):
Now it was just the finale felt fell so flat for,
Me and it was also really disgusting To there's a
couple of things that they take right from the, game
and you know exactly What i'm talking, about SO i
GUESS i might as well say. It she kills a pregnant,
girl and the pregnant girl is begging for her to
get the kid out before she, dies And ellie, doesn't

(47:48):
and you watch a pregnant girl die sickeningly.

Speaker 1 (47:51):
Horrible, wow the love of her life is. Pregnant that's exactly. Right,
yes sickeningly. Terrible. Yeah. Yeah and on top of the
last Of, us then it's some good.

Speaker 2 (48:03):
Show there's other moments in that that just that just
it's sort of, Like, ellie just do, it Just, ellie come, on.

Speaker 1 (48:08):
Like, mark where we just. WORK i just Swear i'm, Sorry.

Speaker 3 (48:12):
Oh, well, okay well, anyway, OKAY i just only.

Speaker 2 (48:16):
Listen, ultimately the season fell ended a little bit, flat but,
again the highs were so.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
High so it's a mixed.

Speaker 1 (48:22):
Bag it's funny that you mentioned. That and this will
be the last THING i say before we move on
to And, or BECAUSE i really want to get to
that you the way you're describing it as how so
many last of us FANS i bet talked about the video,
game AND i, AGAIN i will say this. Again the
MORE i have kind of withdrawn myself from playing the

(48:45):
video game and and seeing it now as a, Show
i've actually come to appreciate it. MORE i really like.
That it's it's not this perfect, storytelling it's not this
perfect happy. Ending it's really it's, gross as you, Said
but that, like to, me that gets me feeling about

(49:06):
the human. Nature And Neil, druckman who's the creator of
the video, game explains it. Perfectly this is a show about.
Love it's love and its kind of grossest ways you
talk about in season one with the guy that it's
abusive and like the cult following AND i forget his.
Name also the, brothers The, brothers same, thing but you

(49:29):
get you get the really positive sides of love and
What joel will do For ellie and then but then
you get the negative. Sides love can turn to hate
because you love someone so much and then they die
and then it turns to vent like this is all
a show about what you will do for, love, right
and you'll you'll see the ugly parts of, Humans you'll
see the amazing parts of. Humans AND i love every

(49:51):
aspect of that in that. Sense AND i love how
they leaned into. It they haven't gone to where they
know people didn't necessarily love the video, game but, like,
no we're not gonna change what we did because people
didn't like. It this is what people need to, see
And i've come to appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (50:10):
MORE i think the LONGER i get away from. It
obviously we're not have to wait two years for season,
three which, sucks but it's just the reality OF tv these.

Speaker 1 (50:17):
DAYS i Hate abby. Though i'm, Sorry i'm gonna be
against you on.

Speaker 3 (50:20):
That, YEAH i, mean like listen in the, moment it's
just it's in the.

Speaker 2 (50:23):
MOMENT i just fin like it's last Thing i'll say
about if you have anything else on.

Speaker 1 (50:27):
On last of. Us that's about.

Speaker 2 (50:29):
It last Thing i'm gonna, say and then we'll move
on and we'll get to some other. Stuff the last
Thing i'm going to say is this to THE cgi
people who worked on The last Of.

Speaker 1 (50:38):
Us Oh, GOD i know where you're going with.

Speaker 2 (50:41):
This it's SO i don't. Care freaking easy. Too when
you're preparing to do A cgi scene of it takes
place In, Seattle, Chris, yeah to do A cgi scene
of Inside, season all, right you're doing A cgi scene
from inside Lumen. Field and to their, credit the inside
Of lumenfield is. Incredible it's, awesome, perfect, perfect the, stands

(51:05):
where the press, boxes you're looking clearly towards the south end.

Speaker 3 (51:08):
Zone there's The toyota fan.

Speaker 1 (51:09):
Deck you there's no press, box.

Speaker 2 (51:12):
It's just sweets on the air. Side they really perfected Lumen.
Field well, DONE cgi, People well. Done but it's so
goddamn easy to google Lumen field and see a picture
of what it looks like looking south Inside lumenfield past
The toyota fan, deck and you can see that there's

(51:34):
nothing past the south end Of. Lumenfield There's Team Will,
park there's no. Skyrises you can't really see the arch team.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
Part in twenty nine though two thousand and.

Speaker 2 (51:44):
Three but the world as is as it was in
two thousand and.

Speaker 1 (51:48):
Three so.

Speaker 2 (51:50):
You google Inside lumenfield looking south past the toilet, fandeck
there's no, skyscrapers there's no nothing that you can. See
why the hell do you see gi in skyscrapers past
the south end of the stadium when there's nothing. There
it's literally less work for, YOU cgi. People you don't
have to do the, Buildings you just do. Sky but

(52:11):
you put in like five damn skyscrapers because you wanted
to have something in empty. Space just have it be freaking.
Accurate just look up a damn picture and don't have the.
SKYSCRAPERS i, Like, okay this is a, small small knit.

Speaker 1 (52:28):
First very a very few percentage of the people that
will understand this and really care for that. Matter but
it makes me wonder how many of the shows or
movies that we all watch that take place in different
cities that we don't know very well where the people
like us in those cities are, like come, on Get

(52:51):
pittsburgh write are you kidding? Me what the? Hell come? On,
so but we don't know because we've never Been i've
never been. There probably a.

Speaker 2 (52:58):
Fair AMOUNT i would just say all of. That if
you're going to do the inside of the stadium so,
perfectly and you've clearly looked at a lot of images
to make it so. Perfect then make sure that the
outside direction of the stage unless they just picked Up
loomenfield and spun it, around but they obviously didn't do.

Speaker 3 (53:14):
That it's two thousand and, three sure, on so.

Speaker 1 (53:17):
Just get a damn, right look up a picture and
get it.

Speaker 2 (53:19):
RIGHT i don't even, Know, chris because it's The toyota
fan deck on the south.

Speaker 1 (53:23):
End maybe they just screwed that. Up maybe they are
looking north but they put the fan neck on the wrong.
END i.

Speaker 2 (53:30):
Guess well then then, okay regardless either, way and then
you could have been looking at The hawks.

Speaker 1 (53:35):
Nests that would have been a really Cool.

Speaker 2 (53:36):
DAYAH i, mean they just it's blatantly stupid that they
screwed it up that, bad and for what was so
good inside the. STADIUM cgi people please just put in
the extra thirty seconds of work to go google a
picture of what you're trying to do in real.

Speaker 5 (53:52):
Life any, Thoughts, chris sounds like you guys enjoyed the. Show, yeah,
MOSTLY i love. It, MOSTLY i love. It jackson still
give a seven second the second. SEASON i still give
it a what do you give the first?

Speaker 1 (54:04):
Season? Nine?

Speaker 3 (54:05):
YEAH i mean like it.

Speaker 2 (54:06):
Did fall for, me because because after the first season
it was my twenty sixth.

Speaker 1 (54:09):
Show the real question did And or rise or fall for?
You after season? Two we're gonna Get or in a.
Seconds that's a perfect, TRANSITION i will.

Speaker 2 (54:16):
Say But last Of us fell from twenty six to
thirty eight for, me And Or, meanwhile And or for
me was hold?

Speaker 1 (54:24):
On can can you just pitch To chris how he
should Watch The last Of? US i think you would
really like.

Speaker 2 (54:29):
IT i, Mean, chris you already like these horror movies
and these you know, things and these human you like the, murder,
mystery the human exploration and telling does all this it's,
murder it's exploration into the human. Condition it's it's, amazing,
dude it's. Amazing you need to watch it for the
first season is so perfectly, done and you at least

(54:49):
need to Watch you least need to watch.

Speaker 1 (54:51):
That it'll hook. You it'll hook it if you watch.
That i'll Watch. Centers it's it's. Fine you don't have
to watch center this. Deal what make the?

Speaker 2 (54:57):
Deal?

Speaker 1 (54:57):
One what do you make the? DEAL i want to
make the deal. Video you can watch them on your own.
Time you can Watch lost Of us on your own
that is probably why don't you want? To because the
girl just throws me. OFF i just don't. Care i'm
not a fan of kids dominating the. Screen, Well jackson
has talked about twenty minutes about how she's, unlikable.

Speaker 4 (55:15):
And THEN i will Not, yeah that's. One, yeah But
joel is so. Likable well makes.

Speaker 1 (55:20):
IT i just don't want a kid that's. Unlikable it's just.

Speaker 2 (55:22):
Okay, uh and or so and or AND i understands
your question was fifteen for me at full first, season, okay.

Speaker 3 (55:29):
And then now it's.

Speaker 1 (55:30):
Seven, oh you moved.

Speaker 2 (55:31):
UP i have Lost, Scrubs Friday Night, Lights The Good,
Place Ted, lasso and for a MOMENT i had And
or at, six.

Speaker 1 (55:40):
And then the finale fell a little.

Speaker 2 (55:42):
Tiny, tiny AND i mean like we are splitting the
thinnest of. Hairs but it does fall to seven past The.

Speaker 1 (55:47):
Office besides The.

Speaker 3 (55:48):
Office, yeah So office is, six and And or's.

Speaker 1 (55:51):
Office so much. BETTER i love The.

Speaker 2 (55:54):
OFFICE i Think The office is the most rewatchable show
for me of all. TIME i CAN i can put
an episode Of The OFFICER us. On, YEAH i guess anytime,
anywhere doing, anything and it will make me feel.

Speaker 1 (56:03):
Good if we're going back to our sitcom like EPISODE
i Swap friends in for, that AND i can understand
it because that's my. Thing, yeah.

Speaker 2 (56:11):
Exactly AND i just something that will literally make you
feel good at any.

Speaker 1 (56:15):
Moment That's friends for.

Speaker 3 (56:15):
Me, yeah that's and that's. FINE i feel Like lost is.

Speaker 1 (56:18):
A very plot. Show the Comfort scrubs is emotional.

Speaker 2 (56:21):
Powerhouse IF i want to just feel something or maybe
have a good cry At, Scrubs friday Night light is
more plot. Show Good place is plot. Show lassos feel,
good offices feel. Good so like, that that's kind of
my vibe of the whole.

Speaker 1 (56:33):
THING i feel.

Speaker 2 (56:33):
That but and or all it does it all before
you have anything? Else before we get to.

Speaker 1 (56:38):
And or what do you mean like?

Speaker 4 (56:39):
It?

Speaker 1 (56:39):
Uh, oh? WATCHED i was debating WHEN i wanted to
bring this. Up i've started rereading The Harry potter. Series,
Oh i'm. On we talked about. That you come, On
i'm on book six, now Fast. Reader, WELL i. CHEAT
i read it like WHEN i can during my free.
Time So i've been doing that a lot instead of WATCHING,

(57:00):
tv to be. Honest but then WHEN i go to,
bed it's like my favorite thing to do to put
in an audiobook and just if if anyone has trouble.
SLEEPING i am telling you right, now Like i'm someone
who my mind kind of goes a million different, places
but then WHEN i put it in an, audiobook it just
focuses on that and it's just the most relaxing thing. Ever,
Anyways SO i do, that and THEN i pick up

(57:22):
WHERE i left off in the audiobook and, Reading SO
i kind of cheat a little. Bit that's, fine BUT
i am going to start the movies And i'm really
excited to BECAUSE i hadn't Read Harry potter in a long,
time like SINCE i was a, kid and, it's oh,
god it's so much better as an. Adult it's so

(57:42):
much better as an. Adult i'm telling you right, now
the amount of not just like themes that you didn't
notice as a. Kid it was a great story as a,
kid but it's there are so many themes and it's,
reading so the writing better be. Good But i'm telling,
you like, this the world, building the the what's the

(58:06):
World i'm looking for kind of build up throughout all
seven books is. Immaculate it's better than anything. Else they
like you get the kind of introduction to the story
in one and then you introduction to the villain a
little bit one and. Two three kind of raises the
stakes a little bit with him learning about his uncle
and it's kind of his only family that he has.

(58:27):
Left four really takes a turn because that's When voldemort comes.
Back and then five raises it up again because his uncle.
DIES i mean, spoilers but if you haven't read or
Known Harry, potter, yeah so like it just it builds
up each time and it makes the next one so much.
BETTER i couldn't recommend it anymore to anyone who is, preteen,

(58:52):
teen even post, Teen like it's so damn. Good and
the first two movies aren't my. Favorite in terms of the,
MOVIES i know they're remaking. IT i am very.

Speaker 2 (59:02):
Concerned so speaking of, that this was that's a great
transition because we have officially cast the New, Harry hermione
And ron for the new.

Speaker 3 (59:11):
Series ladies And, gentlemen meet your New Harry potter.

Speaker 1 (59:14):
Cast there they All chris won't want to see them
because they're, Kids so, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (59:22):
Harry potter.

Speaker 1 (59:23):
KIDS i have actually have done zero research on what this.
Is is this a show that's basically the, movies but
it's a show.

Speaker 3 (59:31):
And they're gonna do one season for every.

Speaker 2 (59:32):
Book their names by the, way, uh WHICH i had
a second. Ago why, yep It's dominic, Mcgloughlins Arabella stanton
and all. Stout why, like if you're making you want
the honest, Answer, yeah.

Speaker 1 (59:48):
Money.

Speaker 2 (59:49):
Money they think they think they did the. Testing they
think that people are gonna, Watch so that's why they're doing.

Speaker 5 (59:54):
It.

Speaker 1 (59:55):
Money is there any other? Reason, no it's. Money it's
my LIKE.

Speaker 2 (01:00:03):
Hbo, max which is now back to BEING Hbo max
by the, way they switched back as. Idiots they want,
Money so what do they. Do they're doing something that
they think people are gonna.

Speaker 1 (01:00:13):
Watch and the question, Is, OKAY i know it's that's
the only. Reason it's. Stupid it is, dumb but it's
the only reason is? There BECAUSE i get it With
lord of The rings when they remade, it and by,
god if they remake it, Again i'm never watching that.
CRAP i again almost, Swore i'm telling YOU i know they.

(01:00:35):
Might i'm never watching that. Crap but was, There like.

Speaker 2 (01:00:40):
The tolkien family has a lot of, control so when
they were reselling the books and, stuff they made sure
that the plan for what ends up Being rings Of
power didn't do a whole, series so the family very
much has the hand on the wheel of we're not
letting it go down the direction Of Harry.

Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
Potter But Jak rallying wanted to pay, day so.

Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
Oh, Okay SO i was gonna ask if WHAT Jk rowling's.
ROLE i wanted to payd.

Speaker 2 (01:01:06):
Okay because she's probably bringing being brought on as a
producer and getting a nice huge chunk of.

Speaker 1 (01:01:12):
Change but she was a producer in the movies. Too,
yeah she wants where the movies? Bad, no they were really.
GOOD i thought were some of them that was.

Speaker 3 (01:01:19):
GREAT i was about A fire is a tremendous.

Speaker 1 (01:01:21):
Movie, WELL i was about to explain one and two
aren't my, favorite but it's kind of a low steaks
like introducing like kind of more kid. Friendly, Definitely howells is.
Awesome like three through eight are awesome, movies really awesome.
Movies i'm telling, You Like prisoner Of azkaban is probably
my favorite, movie not my favorite, book Or to The

(01:01:43):
phoenix is my favorite. Book one a less strong of a.
Movie good. Movies, Uh goblet Of fire is awesome in,
both like awesome in, both and then Deathly howls one
and two, Great, like are they really get into the
reason to remake? Them it's perfectly like it's not, perfect
it's Not lord of The. Rings it wasn't perfectly adapted

(01:02:03):
Like lord of The rings was but, Money but, HONEY
i just don't see a. Reason and the special effects
hold up. Excellent if you've seen the battle Between dumbledore
And voldemort In order of The, Phoenix i'm not a
huge fan of that, movie but that battle was, Awesome,
like just watch that after this. Episode SO i don't. Know,
Anyways i'm Rereading Harry, Potter go go read.

Speaker 2 (01:02:24):
It okay before we get To, andor let me glide
through a few things That i'm watching and we'll wrap
with And. Or let's get the quick things. First still
mart working through my way through Mad man one season.
Left we finished season. Six season six a little bit
worse than season, five but still a great. Show probably
middle on my list in this summer in the, fifties
but don. Draper the whole character of the writing acting

(01:02:46):
just top. Notch watched a couple of New apple shows
Called Your friends And, neighbors also With John hamm speaking
of Mad men's, good very very good. Surprise the heck
out of. Me also very dark but also very. Sexual it's, Uh,
chris it's it's it's a good. SHOW i will, say
the studio if you want to some fun. Vibes Seth

(01:03:09):
rogan plays a studio head and it's Just shenanigans with
his group at This hollywood. Studio very very fun. Show
not much more to add from that other than it's
just a vibe to put on, fun have a pop or,
two and you, know enjoy a beer or a drink or,
whatever and and just enjoy yourself watching a funny.

Speaker 1 (01:03:28):
Show. Yeah. Maybe.

Speaker 2 (01:03:31):
Uh for the first time in my entire, LIFE i
picked A survivor. Winner you guys know That survivor is
by far my number one show above anything. Else and
AND i, finally for the first time my, life picked
A survivor winter. PRESEASON i picked. Him thank, You, kyle
appreciate that all?

Speaker 1 (01:03:48):
Right, Why, OKAY i know we're already like way over,
Time but what Makes survivor so good for?

Speaker 2 (01:03:54):
You for, me it is the looking into the human
condition over why somebody makes certain descis visions that they.
Do AND i think you can apply that, right, no and,
Exactly AND i like that part Of last Of us so,
well and especially With joel right where you look Into
joel and you try to figure out the Decisions joel makes.
Don't BUT i don't think we have enough Of ellie's.

(01:04:15):
BACKGROUND i want more from her, background like growing? Up
how is she the person that she is? Today give
me more of, her of her life than growing them
up LIKE i need because we got that From joel
in all these different. PLACES i need that From.

Speaker 1 (01:04:29):
Ellie that's. Why that's WHERE i would like that from from.

Speaker 2 (01:04:32):
Her that's why she's unlikable BECAUSE i don't have that
deep history with, her LIKE i had the deep history With.

Speaker 1 (01:04:37):
Joel but you don't have the deep history of the
abbey and you like.

Speaker 2 (01:04:39):
Her that was a tongue in, Cheek, YEAH i, mean, like,
Listen i'm rooting For abby and she's still really terrible.
Anyway so the survivor of the human, condition why people
make decisions the way they.

Speaker 3 (01:04:53):
DO i love, that and that's why it's my number.

Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
One remember remember in one of our first, episodes we
watched the trailer for a movie Called Baby. Girl, Yes
Nicole kidman who plays a, boss you remember that one
and my wife it was just like it really is
rough it's it's it's. Bad not a big nicole, kidman
it's a bad.

Speaker 1 (01:05:11):
Movie it's really. Weird we stopped it after like the
sex scene where he was like good on your knees
like a. Dog really, bad all, right really really.

Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
Bad really it's one of those ones WHERE i was
just like laughing And i'm, like you can't even take
this serious.

Speaker 3 (01:05:23):
Thought this was going to put it in a.

Speaker 1 (01:05:25):
Mood she doesn't even look, good you, know it's like really.
Bad she does not look, good really really.

Speaker 3 (01:05:29):
Bad Baby girl.

Speaker 4 (01:05:31):
Different Baby girl's trailer. WAS i just feel like the
sex was just. Unnecessary it was just like very.

Speaker 1 (01:05:36):
Undue it was like she was trying too hard to
Be it just wasn't a good. Movie, ALSO i had
a horrible. ENDING i won't even you know a.

Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
Squirrel you don't yet people don't Watch Baby. Girl so
basically the way it ends up is her husband finds
out she's having this affair with this kid who is treating,
her you, know with you, know the kind of dominance,
right and, ultimately, ultimately uh you, know the husband, says, okay, well,
UH i want to keep, you So i'll start treating

(01:06:02):
you that, way and it's it and it ends with
with the last scene is him dominating her like the
young kid dominated.

Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
Her, horrible horrible.

Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
Ending no lessons were, learned nobody changes it. All everybody
gets away with my wife been.

Speaker 1 (01:06:17):
Cheating, Okay i'm gonna do the guy's been doing.

Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
Exactly that's how it, happens ladies and. Gentlemen and you
want to get you It's antonio banderis in the older.
Guy he's the, husband and it's, like it's, like, dude
do you know what you could go? Get i'm not,
gay but come.

Speaker 1 (01:06:34):
On, MAN i could be gay For.

Speaker 4 (01:06:37):
Antonio YEAH i would, too really. Bad, plus do not
see Baby. Girl please don't waste your life LIKE i. Did,
well if you want to watch a good sex show
or a sex, movie watch Sex life On.

Speaker 1 (01:06:49):
Netflix there you, go. Bingo, okay BEFORE i was watching
first two, seasons but continue Jux.

Speaker 2 (01:06:58):
Uh we haven't even mentioned And thunderbolts and, frankly you
know we should talk about the big Big marvel reace
Because marvel has made. News we've Delayed, Doomsday we've Delayed Secret.
Wars shut up because it's the biggest product going In.
HOLLYWOOD i, mean they really.

Speaker 1 (01:07:12):
Do it's it makes makes you amounts of? Money are?
You are you also Anti marvel at this? Point, yes.

Speaker 4 (01:07:18):
ANYTHING i Just i'll wait For thunderbolts to come out ON.
Dvd i've heard good things About, thunderbolts but like DVDs,
Anymore hulu whenever it comes out on Streaming.

Speaker 1 (01:07:30):
Disney, pluss but like let me tell you On thunderbolts
talking About, thunderbolts don't did the whole big picture crap
Because thunderbolts.

Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
Is not exactly a Typical marvel. Movie it has Some marvel,
elements but this is a movie about mental.

Speaker 1 (01:07:46):
Health.

Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
Uh the opening scene is a girl talking about fighting.
Depression it is a movie of people trying to find
purpose in their lives to get out of bad. Places
the whole climax of the movie is about a person
trying to overcome his internal.

Speaker 1 (01:08:02):
Demons.

Speaker 2 (01:08:03):
Uh this entire movie is all about mental, health mental,
health mental, health and how important it is to make
sure you have people around you who can help you
get out of the dark places when you inevitably go.

Speaker 1 (01:08:14):
This see you like this but not Iron man?

Speaker 2 (01:08:16):
Three see HERE'S i think Iron man three fell because
of a couple of, things script and. ACTING i just
DIDN'T i believe it didn't fully buy into it just
seems too. CONVENIENT i know he was going THROUGH.

Speaker 1 (01:08:30):
Ptsd but this feels a lot anxiety.

Speaker 2 (01:08:32):
Anxiety, sorry, regardless it was him going through what happened
after The battle Of New, york and this feels a lot. Grittier,
this this feels What Iron man three should have. Been,
real very, dark very, gritty very. Real and yes it
has Its marvel, moments but it also really does have
the context of mental health the whole way.

Speaker 1 (01:08:52):
Through it's funny because you look at the trailers and
you would never expect you would never see. That, yeah and, they,
FRANKLY i love. THAT i Think. MARVEL i Think marvel
mark it.

Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
That weay because they're, like if we make this, movie
market it about a mental, health you, know look into
then when we may not get the.

Speaker 1 (01:09:06):
Viewers that's what trailers should, be is, Like, okay look
how fun it, is and then when you go to
the theater and you watch, it you realize that it's
something so much bigger than.

Speaker 3 (01:09:13):
That It's It's thunderbolts was really.

Speaker 2 (01:09:15):
SPECIAL i think for me it probably comes in as
the third best, movie maybe the second best movie After,
endgame because we Have Deadpool wolverine probably my number.

Speaker 1 (01:09:25):
One, uh very very.

Speaker 2 (01:09:29):
Funny it's very much A vibes. Movie but this this
is it's it's a very much a return For. Marvel they're.
Back and If fantastic, four we, see here's the, thing
because now you put it. Together if they Nail fantastic,
four we ultimately look at this recent phase and the
Recent marvel phase has been pretty darn.

Speaker 1 (01:09:46):
Good name it so hold On MARVEL pa was a
seven or? Six phase? Six oh, no it's it's this
is this is phase five right? Now?

Speaker 3 (01:09:56):
Five, ok so we're in phase five right.

Speaker 2 (01:09:58):
Now So phase Five i've Included guardians The galaxy, three
WHICH i think never saw it amazing. Movie, yes, yes, Definitely, Deadpool,
Wolverine Captain, America Brave New, world WHICH i thought was just,
fine uh and just not.

Speaker 3 (01:10:17):
Fine it was a good.

Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
Movie it wasn't as bad as everybody says it. Was
and Then Thunderbolts ye had The marvels in, there which
was it was a fine. MOVIE i think the hate
for that was. Overblown but, Overall phase FIVE'S i think
been pretty damn. Solid loki season two was.

Speaker 1 (01:10:31):
Great you just won't hit Phase, no you'll never hit,
that never hit that.

Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
That phase five was a return to form Where phase
four was. Terrible phase four was. Trash, Yeah phase five
was good And, thunderbolts and now you Have fantastic four
coming out in a couple of, months and everything from
that looks very. Good we'll wait to. See but like
that With Pedro, pascal who can do no wrong right,
NOW i have a lot.

Speaker 1 (01:10:55):
Of hot as much as the script allows you to IF.

Speaker 2 (01:10:58):
I will, say if If fantastic four comes in at
the level of a not you don't even need to
HIT i Think. Thunderbolts but if you hit the level
of The guardians of The galaxy, three if you hit mid,
eighties THEN i Think marvel can be declared fully. Back
BUT i will declare THAT i think they are pretty much.
Back But fantastic four will just slam the table and

(01:11:19):
say we're good, now which is needed considering where you're
going into now with a delay for doomsday in The Secret,
war SO i like the delay gives THE cgi people
more time to work on. It but Ultimately thunderbolts is
definitely worth. SEEING i think it's out of, theaters but
it's worth seeing as soon as it's. Available because very

(01:11:39):
very surprising and very very. Good, Okay, Chris yeah you
didn't see Thunder.

Speaker 1 (01:11:45):
Bolts did you see anything posting?

Speaker 4 (01:11:47):
Game?

Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
YES i Saw Captain Brave New world THAT i liked.
IT i think that was the only ONE i literally
have not watched The MARVEL v posting.

Speaker 2 (01:11:57):
Game i'm The marvel guy on this, podcast And i'm
here to say THAT i Hated phase, four But phase
five is a.

Speaker 3 (01:12:01):
Return thunderbolts was.

Speaker 2 (01:12:03):
Great, okay let's wrap the pod WITH i, think for my,
money the best show that is Not CAN i CAN.
I i'm gonna pick my words very. Careful there the
best non comedy of the last, decade non comedy of
the last, decade BECAUSE i Have Ted lasso above. It

(01:12:25):
but like other Than, ted it's the best. Show it's
let me also put it this, Way it's the best
sci fi Content i've ever. Seen And i'm a, TREKKY
i am A Star trek guy through and. Through this
is the best sci fi ever. Done the episodes of
eight and, nine The Gorman massacre and Mon moth with
speech to getting out of The senate is the Best

(01:12:47):
Star wars content ever been. Done it is epic on every,
level from probably episode five up through. Twelve anders And
or is. Perfection it is, special unlike anything we've ever
seen before from science.

Speaker 1 (01:13:04):
Fiction and, you're, yeah you're Wearing Star. WARS i am
representing A. YEAH i just think. This there's a reason
that this era Of Star wars is so, saturated SHALL i,
say because it's the most interesting. Era it's between episode
three and episode four where it's like the formation of
The empire but also the formation of the. Rebellion you

(01:13:26):
get to see the galaxy quote unquote change from you,
know being in this republic era where you, know everything
is kind of, utopian changing to a imperial sort of
way of going about, things and you, know the reactions
from different levels from people inside the imperial, empire from

(01:13:50):
different planets that are inside The senate that are supposed
to like be keeping the peace and the. Democracy and
then you get like the ground level people that are
really affected by, it the ones that are affected the.
MOST i think And or it is just a fantastic
job of representing. Everyone and it's LIKE i showed you

(01:14:12):
a list of the greatest performances in terms of, acting
and like we had trouble, deciding oh is this one
worse than that. One, no they were all so. Good
every character that has a prominent role in this show
does their job absolutely. Perfectly, Like i'm with. YOU i
think it is the Best Star wars, Content and, YEAH

(01:14:32):
i think the best sci fi content as. WELL i
Like Star trek two thousand and. NINE i really do you?

Speaker 3 (01:14:36):
Know you know that for, me that's my number two
movie of All.

Speaker 1 (01:14:39):
Yeah and it's top five for me as. Well and,
like But i'm A Star wars guy AND i love
the amount of world building this put into it and
the fact that it was a prequel To rogue. One
WHEN i first Saw rogue, one everyone was pretty hyped by,
it mostly because of the last scene and how it
kind of drew straight into a New. Hope BUT i was,

(01:14:59):
like that's. FINE i don't really get a background on
a lot of these, characters LIKE i don't have this
connection to. Them it was a fine. STORY i didn't hate,
it AND i honestly ended up WHEN i first saw
it feeling about the same As, solo A Star wars,
story which a lot of people, hated by the, way
AND i WAS i liked. IT i did. TOO i
think it was, like, Okay rogue one, solo you, know, yeah,
Similar but after having And or to like set everything, UP,

(01:15:23):
i of, course as a lot of people, did went
from And or season two straight Into rogue one because
it transitions like it's a seemed complete.

Speaker 3 (01:15:32):
Prequel and, now now don't you View rogue one with
a different?

Speaker 1 (01:15:35):
LIGHT i really.

Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
Do, Now now suddenly you Have cassian being the main
character Of rogue, one and it's an entirely different, movie, experience.

Speaker 1 (01:15:43):
An entirely different, movie and, like it Makes rogue one
a lot. Better, heck it makes A New hope. Better it.

Speaker 2 (01:15:50):
Does AND i went for the end when you're, like
why are you giving The wookie And Han solo And
luke these medals when you should be Getting clay A
metal getting all these later.

Speaker 4 (01:16:01):
People, YEAH i can understand that it was like what
forty years? Later, yeah but but, yeah and at the
end of the, day, yes.

Speaker 1 (01:16:10):
Like but the you just see the build up from
everything from And or season, one you get kind of, Like,
okay it's this one guy that's kind of a rebel
in this galaxy that's like trying to figure out his
way of, things build up to like him getting into the,
rebellion and then, okay build up to, uh you, know

(01:16:31):
his decision making and what goes into, it his relationships with,
people getting this one engineer to make this one area
of The Death star, vulnerable and then that's Where rogue
one comes in And Jin eerso and her Dad galen
and how that hole.

Speaker 3 (01:16:51):
Comes, up and then at the end of And or
season two and the tie ins there just it's.

Speaker 4 (01:16:56):
SEAMLESS i, mean it's just LIKE i talked About Harry
potter with the build up and like that raises the
stakes each, time and from And or To rogue one
to A New, hope it's just a perfectly executed build
up into the one big victory that the rebels needed
In Star. Wars AND i think you, can like you
can go straight From New hope into The, empire BUT

(01:17:17):
i think you can end it like in terms of
just that that's the.

Speaker 1 (01:17:20):
Truth that's the arc right. There it's it's And or
Into rogue one into A New, hope and then you
can go five into, six which is like that's that's
probably the way to do it after. That but, man
is it. Good oh my. God it elevates all part of.
It And i'm someone who defends the prequels, LIKE i
understand people's affinity towards the original trilogy and it was

(01:17:42):
like kind of revolutionary for its, time and it's probably
slightly better. Storytelling BUT i love how bold the prequels
are and kind of trying to set up everything ahead of,
it and that's kind of What andor did to rogue
one and in connection to A New hope as. Well
BUT i can appreciate just how good this is and

(01:18:04):
how just how well it's, connected and it's it's just
immaculate and ors fantastic in all sorts of ways that
the performances are. Great the writing's, great the score is.
Great there's not a single weakness in. It it's a
top five show for the acting.

Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
Performances in certain moments where you, know there's The gorman massacre,
scene which is probably the most gruesome scene In Star wars,
history where you just see a people getting absolutely slaughtered
in a town square and and one of them involved
in that is Is, cyril who's obviously now in this
relationship With dedra and then she this you, know The empire,

(01:18:44):
leader finds out that he's, died and her acting in
that scene where she's just you, know trying to trying
to you, know straighten her outfit and you, know get
over his death is just brilliant. Acting it's the acting
From luthan when he is a younger, self the good
daging pithe. Away but just these performances one after another mond,

(01:19:08):
speech the thing of bringing back the various musical themes
for big. Moments because the score was just SO i was,
STAYING i, mean we can go on and on for
so long and extend the podcast by just waxing. Poetic
but And or was TRULY i Think, listen episodes one
through three of season two fell off quite a. Bit
you kind of Sidelined cassie and the best part Was

(01:19:30):
bix in her story and.

Speaker 1 (01:19:31):
She created a disagree on that BECAUSE i actually like
the kind of setup it. DOES i like the the wedding,
stuff AND i like the BIS i expected. IT i Love.

Speaker 2 (01:19:39):
Cassie they sidelined, him, yeah AND i just don't like. That,
Listen i'm saying it was the worst part of what
was ultimately my seventh top series of all.

Speaker 1 (01:19:49):
Time it's not that, bad short, players what you're talking about.

Speaker 2 (01:19:52):
Here it's pretty damn good and it's so well. Made
but at the end of the, day, like that's the
one little THING i can criticize and what really is
a perfect television show.

Speaker 3 (01:20:04):
In so many.

Speaker 2 (01:20:04):
Moments and for, me If i'm Running Star, Wars i'm
going To Tony gilroy And i'm just, saying however much
money you, want you you say the, number will write the,
check and then you get to decide what story you
want to. Do you pick where you want to take.
THIS i don't care if you want to go in the.
PAST i don't care if you want to go in the.

(01:20:25):
FUTURE i don't care where you want to Take Star. Wars,
Tony Tony, gilroy you give us the next story because
you are so bloody.

Speaker 1 (01:20:34):
Brilliant, yes but with one caveat the guy who runs
It Nowadave, FILONI i think does a fantastic job with
the prequels and The Clone, wars and every time he's
trying to go into the sequels slash original trilogy.

Speaker 4 (01:20:52):
Era that's.

Speaker 3 (01:20:53):
Perfect then just, Then, tony you take us into the
next era Of Star.

Speaker 1 (01:20:58):
Wars anything post Or order sixty, six that Is Tony
gilroy's Anything, Free order sixty, six That's.

Speaker 2 (01:21:04):
Tony whatever happens, after you, know the whole rise Of skywalker,
bs you take us into the next era Of Star,
wars BECAUSE i, MEAN i bow to everybody who worked
on And. Or you, know it's JUST i don't, Know,
ANDERS i don't know what else to. Say it's it's for,
me it's the absolute, greatest AND i don't know the

(01:21:24):
next time we're going to get a piece of content
as good as this when it comes to scienceific and.

Speaker 1 (01:21:29):
You know my thoughts BECAUSE i going into season, TWO
i was very skeptical whether they would match season, one
and they matched. IT I i really like season, one
SO i think they they matched. It but that's a
that's a high, praise, honestly BECAUSE i have it as
a top five show.

Speaker 4 (01:21:44):
Of my.

Speaker 2 (01:21:46):
Well done and Or, yeah well done Us. SCOTS i
think WE i think we pretty much talk.

Speaker 1 (01:21:52):
Not draft never will be in A Star wars guy,
never why? Not it's just not my cup of.

Speaker 3 (01:21:56):
TEA i, mean and And or should be everybody's cup of.

Speaker 1 (01:21:59):
TEA i recommend.

Speaker 3 (01:21:59):
It and doesn't even feel Like Star. Wars ander isn't
Really Star.

Speaker 2 (01:22:02):
Wars it's it's it's more about a rebellion in in bets.

Speaker 3 (01:22:08):
Fan it is, better but you don't even need to
be A Star wars fan to love.

Speaker 1 (01:22:11):
IT i don't. THINK i don't know you, don't BUT
i think it's better if you're A Star wars. Fan,
OKAY i think that's.

Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
It.

Speaker 1 (01:22:16):
Yeah, wow we did, it. Guys this is we went,
over didn't? We we will not that hour twenty? Seven you're? Close,
no sixteen, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:22:28):

be back more often than. This but uh, boy if
