impressive because one wrong turn and we're all toast.

We have this movie and TV podcast and we just
have been dropping the ball for the last month. But
we are back on it now and we hope to
have more consistent episodes moving forward. And there is so
so much to get to on My list is ridiculously long. Chris,
you have seen the new mission impossible, So we're gonna

ask for a you know what, let's just start there
because I think that, you know, we let's just start
with the most recent thing going on right now. Spoiler
free thoughts on the final Reckoning as mission. We were
just jumping right in. I mean, I don't know. I
don't have anything else. There's so much news, there's so
much to cover. We aren't going to be doing a
draft this episode, I don't think, because there's just so
much to discuss. So if anybody else has anything to

so I'm almost am open to spoiler content, maybe spoilers,
maybe not full on spoiler, but just you know, you

know the direction the story is, yesing, yes, So just
in case they change some things, you can you can
just kind of talk about your thoughts about it. I
already have thoughts on I.

Can tell you from having listened to the official podcast
of The Last of Us from Craig Mason, Neil Druckman,
and Troy Baker that they don't they don't change too
much from the games other than rearranging one scene from
one place in the game to another.

It was good.

But that they noted it from the jump to the end.
The ending is it's so real because I don't know
if you remember the first Mission Impossible where he's on
the street walking around, he's looking at all his friends
and he's seeing people. You know, it's just a casual
just you get that same element towards the end of
the film. It's just really done really well. Straight to

the ending well because it ties a roll into how it.

You like a good book end.

So it was just like wow, you know I remember
seeing that nineteen ninety five. Me and I watched it
probably in the late two thousand.

Let me ask this really quick, because I watched Dead
Reckoning Part one a week and a half ago. Yeah,
you'll you're but do I need to go watch number
one again?

No? Okay, no, you need to watch number one period.

No, because they do a good job of actually tying
in some characters from really from the first film, which
is crazy because I was like, I didn't even recognize dude.
But okay, thank you for telling me that, because they
actually walk you through that because there is it's an
important context to the film. So they did a really
crazy grab there thirty years later. Alrighty then, so it

was a good movie, a little long, so two hours
and forty minutes.

he funnels money. He follows up with his infamous running
scene where he is sprinting his ass off of course
and he is man form, looks good, weirdest run and
he does it. You know, he gets it done. But
just a great film. It ties in you're wondering, oh

Ask this well with no spoilers, because the the internet
has been a buzz about some underwater scene. I don't
want you to give us the context of what happens
under the water, but people are losing their minds over
an quote underwater scene.

Losing their minds in a good way or not good way,

I mean, this is like something crazy. This is nuts.
How did Tom Cruise pull this off? Because he's Tom Cruise,
So I guess without without telling us what happens this
underwater seeing the internet's losing its mind about you.

Remember when Danos defeated the Avengers.

Yeah, snap, snap, yeah, yeah, that's like sheez It's like, wow,
you and we're.

that ass because that was crazy? He did all that. No,
is it better than the Fallout one? Because the Fallout one?

Fallout it is what it is. It's better than Fallout.

No that that scene is like, No, fall wasn't the
falling Out.

I would say, there's there's just the fallout, the big
the big like when he has the mask on and
he's falling from like super high up.

Oh, is that the the what do they call that?
When you dive out of the plane that high Halo jump.

Yeah, Halo altitude.

There's two Halo jump.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
Because the plane scene is just as crazy, and you've
seen the previews of the The plane scene is flying
through the hills where there's some stuff in there that
you're like, only Tom Cruise, I mean.

Are you trying to can we rewind? No?

I can't possibly be Like the plane is flying through
the cliffs and he's off the edge, Yes, that can't possibly.

Halo Jump is the one on taking the Halo jump
is epic, and that one is well when you when you.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Put into account how actually tough he makes it look
and still gets done, You're like, okay, only a certain
amount of people could probably do that. Would you be,
you know, gasping for air? And when you're watching, you're like, yeah,
he's definitely fighting elements being on a plane. Like it
all makes sense. It's not like, oh, that looked easy.
This is definitely a movie. It's like, you know, if

I tried that, I die. Is it your favorite of
the series? I I know it's fresh.

There's there's been so many good Rogue Nation was great,
Ghosts Fallouts the best, I would say.

The way they ended it, it has to be up there.
You have to have a conversation. You can't just say nope,
this is my Fiel still favorite because of how good
of a job they put A.

Ball tomatoes disagrees. I don't care a rotten tomatoes, which
is low for an opening, Like that's a bit shocking.
The others are like ninety five plus.

Chris is selling this is like a night would you
get a hundred? You have it a ninety four? Ninety four?

Okay, all right, all right, so you're saying it's on
par at least the question.

Okay, I'm just saying, like for me, Fallout it's a
perfect action movie.

Was a villain was incredible.

The bathroom fight scene is like that is like that
that bathroom fight scene just the raw and you know,
just harsh nature, the no score element of it. Like
that fight scene is one of my favorite fight scenes
I've ever seen in any entertainment.

No, I'm with you there, I fall it's my favorite ones. Yeah, yeah,
I know, I'm excited though I haven't been. Like it's
funny the last two like movies that I've like purposely
gone and like, okay, we we're planning out this to
go see in a theater? Was is this mission impossible?
And Top Gun the last.

Two biggest movie sorry still the biggest action movie star.
I did hear that the script is written for the
next Top Gun movie.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Really, so that's done and I think it's the same.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
They can't do any of these. I'm wondering if.

I'm wondering if Tom Cruise isn't in the new Top Gun.
I'm wondering if he officially hands this thing off to
to who is the guy who played Rooster? And then
you also had he's in Twisters. I know you're talking
about the handsome white dude wasn't but it isn't dating
Sidney Sweeney. Let me see my day. I'm gonna google
Sydney Sweeney boyfriend. It's not gonna see if it pops

up though, because Glenn Powell and I didn't even need
to look see didn't actually do it? Still pull out
Glen Powell and then whoever it was opposite of Glen Powell.
I wonder if they take over the Top Gun franchise.

They were great. I mean, he's like the next big thing,
so wouldn't surprise me at all. Yeah, yeah, anything else
you watched recently Chris.

Chris was just starting with you. Go ahead, please, the

Ye saw Sinners. I actually watched it again on Saturday night.

It's a great movie.

You seen it?

Do we need to keep spoilers off the table? You go, okay,

I will say, And it didn't grab me at.

you should go see.

See And that's thing. It didn't grab me either. And
then my wife was all like we have.

To see guess and your wife was like nope, nice
and I.

Was kind of just like okay, like you know what, fine,
let's let's suspend an afternoon and go see it.

It blew my mind.

Really well because they build up to it. You don't
just jump into vampires. Give my wife's not into the vampires.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
I'm not saying.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
Like like the first eighty minutes is like storyline, yeah,
the last forty okay, like thirteen to twenty five minutes
is like okay, and see.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Here's the thing I think that you would really like it.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Anders is because it's such a more than anything else,
it's a musical, like the element for music in this movie.
The score is so special, The score is incredible, But
then how they functionally use music in the plot itself,
there's a there's a certain scene that kind of goes
this element of like there are certain musicians on earth who,

(11:07):
because they are such brilliant musicians, they can harness the
history of music around them and sort of bring in
various So what they do is, as he's playing, they
suddenly welcome in everybody from I guess ancient human history,
you know, banging drums all the way to futuristic guitar players.
And they have these like eight different you know, genres

(11:29):
and tires of music all coalescing with each other. And
it's this brilliant, like four three and four minute scene
of all these different eras of music playing together.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
So basically, you want to amaze the movie is about
without spoiling it. You can spoil it, just go no,
because I think you should see it. I don't want
to tell you.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
He's not gonna say I will. So basically what happens,
it's it's it's these two brothers. They're twin brothers, and
it's both played by Michael B. Jordan, and they are
incredibly playing a question instantly, yeah and no question, And
the whole time I'm also trying to think about who's
a vampire?

Speaker 1 (12:02):
That was a fun thing.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
No, no, But anyway, So there's two brothers who worked
for al Capone in Chicago, the Mob, and they're gangsters
and they decide, you know what, we're done with the
gang life. We're gonna move home to was it Mississippi
or Alabama or Georgia or something like that.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
They I think it was miss Mississippi, Clarksville, Mississippi.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
So they decided we're going to move back to our
hometown in Mississippi. We're going to buy a place that
we can turn into a club for our community, and
we're just going to help our community and kind of
turn our backs, essentially on the Mob. And it's these
two brothers, and the most of the movie is just
the plot of these two guys buying and setting up
this club for a massive party that night.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Hey, we're home, we're back. We got this place.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
It's a place for us to all dance and enjoy
and have a you know, have fun. I mean it's
early nineteen hundreds, yeah, thirty for a prominent.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Dura prohibition or no, I think so the big especially.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
This is a this is a black community where so
like we're gonna we want people to have a place
in the Deep South. So ultimately what it turns into
is they have this massive party.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
Oh but there's vampires.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
So that's the twist.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
No, but you see him coming in very obviously. You
see it coming. In the opening of the movie. They
talk about what music can do. I could bring life
from the present and the past crap. So it was
it was actually the music that brought on this evil.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
That's pretty cool. And the dad.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
Vampires hear the music and then they're like, they're like,
we want to see our ancestors.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
We want to capture that music.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
And the dad warns them, he's like, hey man, this
guitar it can either you know, it's gonna bring some demons.
Are you ready to face those demons? And that's a
good point. They thought it was like, uh metabolic, Yeah,
they were actual demons.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
That was right.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
They brought actually demons. And how does Sammy handle it?
How does everyone hand.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
How does everybody hand? And from the beginning to the end.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
The end is the bestretty much the best part because
you see what music does and how it changes his
It's still like.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
I don't know really what's gonna happen, and it's great.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Also, we'll mention and and Chris, I know this is
why you loved it, and we can get into this
right now. Obviously everything we've set up is why it's
It's a very very cool story. But it's also one
of the raunchiest movies I have ever seen. I mean,
Hailey Steinfeld has a scene that went viral and she
was I think she was talking. I think it's her
third line in the movie, because she walks over to

Michael B. Jordan's character, she says a couple of lines
and then she blurts out the line, Uh, well, I
thought you changed your mind last night when you had
your tongue in.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
My blank yep, So she blurts that out.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
Later, there's when when somebody turns into a vampire, they
go to their spouse who isn't a vampire, and they say,
you know, I know the way you you like to
be tasted, and it's like wow, And there's these lines
and the very sexually explicit scenes.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Very they show a lot.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
And it's it's in a tasteful but also ridiculously raunchy way.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
Chris, I know you loved it.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
It was hilarious.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
The best scene is when the funniest scene is when
they're picking up corn bread and with what you.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
Know, they're picking him up because he his wife. He
was he's sharecropping.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
He's out there doing work and I'm not gonna be
Jordan's smokers like, hey, man, got a chance you to
make some money. And he's like, I'm with my wife. Man,
you see her right there, and he's like, I mean, shoot,
the amount of money I'm about to give you, maybe
you should let you put your meat.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
In her mouth.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
And he didn't say. The words he used were way
more color and more funny for the time. Say. The
wife was like, well, how much are you paying? So
she's like, I'm all in how much money? And then
Cornber is like all right, let's do this. So that
was just a funny scene, and there's tons of that
through the movie. While you take it serious, I thought

Coogler did a really good job of just having fun
with it and realizing they're still human beings. They're having fun. Yes,
they're sexual active. I mean, hell, there was a point
where I think gets stacked. He asked the young lady
to watch over the vehicle. He's like, Yo, if you
see too many people being around the car, hunk the horn,
I'm gonna pay you, you know, twenty five cents for
every minute I'm gone. Whatever it is. So he hunks.

(16:13):
She hunks the horn. He comes out two black dudes
shying to steal from him, come to final out. He
knows these black dudes.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
But oh, he know. He only finds out that he
knows the dudes after he shoots.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
I didn't want to I didn't want to tell you that.
I want you know, you watch that book. Shoots one
of him and he's like, oh, hey, how you doing.
It's like you just shot me. All of those one
of the vampires that comes back.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
No, no, no, these are He's in town, just visiting because
he wants to set up a party and he knows
there's some people that can help with that. But while
he's in the store trying to get some.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Supply, how vampires come into this lore? Like what music?
Where we stave been hiding this whole time. Well, people
that have just died or people that have been around
for jail.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
I think the simple answer to that is that they've
always been around.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
They've been around.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
But now music and the fact that the natives were
chasing this specific vampire and he ends up asking for assistance.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Finding his way through Mississippi and these white folks are like,
oh yeah, come on in.

Speaker 4 (17:04):
And they was like, hey man, that white man should not
be with you. And they're like, ain't no white man
in here? And he's like, okay, you know made Lord,
the Lord bless you. I don't think we've spoiled anything
that going. For anybody we got to go, I will
quickly tell anybody who hasn't seen it, you should see
it if you get the chance. But also, please, you
have no excuse does not see this weekend zero?

But but well, what going on?

He's like, three jobs, Hey, you haven't seen last of us?
All right? I keep telling you to watch that. You
have no excuse to watch that. Watch.

puts a full amazing book book.

Ninety eight ninety nine? I don't know, Probably like Moses

Epic mos dude, you love house.

It's when you think about it, it's a really really
good film. Like I know the critics hated it, and
they're like, oh they did a poor jossh Like, you
like what you like? Man, The story and how they
told it and how the body works makes sense.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
We're talking about Osmoses Jones once again.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
I like, keep going, Chris, what else do you watch
of Evil Red? It's a Polish film. Polish film, but
you know you throw them subtitles on. You're like, I
got it, go ahead. So basically, it's about a young
lady's body is found on a beach and her lips
are missing, and they're like, oh, we remember this guy.

(19:17):
He was in prison for I think twelve years for
a murder exact same thing. Well, there's a little darker
story than that. It's perhaps not the same guy maybe.
So the young daughter that was killed. The mom is
actually a lawyer, she's a judge. She's a judge. So
she's like, okay, I want to figure this out. And
it turns dark real quick because she's finding out things

that she wouldn't want to know now, considering that it's
her daughter that's dead and the people that are close
to her are playing a role in this, and it
is the mom Yeah, it's one of those where it's
like ooh damn. And obviously gangs are involved and things
of that nature and powerful drug lords. But it was
a really good film. And I'm not the biggest person

in the watching subtitles, but yeah, where is it on.
It's on Netflix, Netflix, and it's called Colors of Evil Red.
So it's a really good movie. You can knock it
out and be like, wow, Okay, so murder for sure,
murder mystery, but thriller, murder my history.

Yeah, yeah, but definitely definitely. Yeah, how it sounds, I
have some drama elements.

Speaker 4 (20:21):
Oh, drama elements, you know, drugs, all of it. So
a really really well done film. And again I'm not
the biggest person for subtitle movies. You know, it's not
an American I'm really not wait it, but I was like,
I gotta give this a shot. It's been on my
list for a long time. So I ended up watching
it and I was very impressed. Obviously, I don't know
if you guys saw American Man Hunt Osama ban Lauden no.

I have not. That was also really good, that kind
of documentary style.

Speaker 4 (20:45):
Yeah, three episodes about hour ten minutes each and how
they tracked him down. Just what America used to get
this guy is like kind of incredible use. My ignorance
was that the Seal Team six thing.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Yeah, OK, correct, Yeah, I mean that, and that was
I loved the the way that movie was made. I
just didn't feel like Thetar thirty. It's think zero thirty
with Jessica Chastain. But ultimately I just kind of felt
like that movie fell flat a little bit.

So this Documan documentary.

Doubles up and you get all the intail and all
the stuff that goes into finding someone that has disappeared
after nine to eleven, and they're just like, where is
this guy?
