P l D Projects presents Holy Snokes The Star Wars
Podcast featuring PLD and Mattie Gunner. You May the Force
be with you always. What's up, everybody? Welcome back to
(00:42):
another episode of Holy Snows the Star Wars Podcast Here
in the Pod Projects Network. I am your host PLD,
with me as always my co pilot Maddy Gunner.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
How are you doing, my friend, co pilot he life
day mate confidante Consigliari?
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Are I like that one? I like that one? Mus
a good concert and you would be I'm not. I'm
not being afraid. That's not happening that I would make
you be afraid. I will come on now, try more
than that. Sie.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
I haven't watched the Godfather movies in a long time.
It is I think I should redo.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
It's been a while for me as well. I kind
of like thinking at some point p ch and I
am probably gonna covered on on two mediacal home, two
middle aged gigs on film, but like I don't know,
maybe I won't, Maybe I'll just do it at some point.
I never actually, you know, I'm gonna throw out my
cinephile status here and like, you know, commit cinephile suicide.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
As you were.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
I haven't watched the CODEA version of God. It never
with the whole rearrange stuff, which I've heard makes the
film better. I don't know I the same, but I
should watch it at least watch the first year ago,
because it's been it's been quite quite a while. And
what a set of films those are.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
I never got the hate for number three. I get
it's it's to me, it's like an eight and a
trilogy of tens.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
I think that's the problem. It's because you're comparing it
next to like two of the greatest films of all time.
And then also it's like this is just decent film
kind of thing. I know, like Sophia Coppa gets her
uh get ripped out a bunch for her her performance,
and I mean it's definitely it's definitely not anywhere near
one and two. But I always think it's overheated anyway.
(02:15):
Then again, what am I just how a positive person
e PG talking about all the time talking about movies
selling were like, oh I hate that one. They're pretty good.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
The bad.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
We uh we always sad that. We always come from
the mindset like it's it's hard to make a movie
it's very hard thing to do to make a movie,
and all movies start with at least like something that
you can glom onto usually and even if it's not
like the greatest, you can still find stuff that you
enjoy about. You go off to the trash it unless
you're right now she from twenty ten, Then that's piece
of shit and you deserve to die. Anyway. There's only
(02:48):
exceptions to rules PG and I have found there a
few of them in are are horror watchers that we
kind of go, yeah, even we can't say save this one,
but even that, but even then actually it back. I
gave that a one out of eleven. I still said,
I still like that. Jack Eearl Haley did a phenomenal
job and did a great job doing his best. Just
how I didn't have the story or the design or
(03:11):
anything to help support him. So there's no eve thing
that I can find something that's redevable in a way.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Oh God, So when I say the words Alien Resurrection, fun.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Movie, just a good alien Okay, Okay, okay, I know
you're trying to do. You could bring up the other
one too if you wanted to, Buddy.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
No, we thought we pulled that one up last week.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
That's true. That's true. Like I said, exception, he do exist.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
I'll tell you I did have a Star Wars kind
of day today. I started planning out celebration. Oh good, Like,
have another look at what panels? Uh, there are kind
of thin on the ground. Really. I was a little surprised.
A lot of a lot of podcaster is yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Yeah, we kind of mentioned it. We talked about it
last people together. There's no big, huge news panel. There's
no I mean there's a news panel. There, no like
big huge Lucasfilm live action panel like they usually do.
There's no twenty the Anniversary Revenge of the Sith panel,
which I thought for sure was going to happen.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
They corrected the bullet point. Did you see this?
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Did they?
Speaker 1 (04:28):
I did not. I haven't been checking it out.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Corrected it longer there other point's gone yet.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
So my conspiracy theory has been shut down.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Yeah, shut it shut down like a like a I
want to say a pig and ship, but you don't
shoot that out.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
This guy shot a good morning in the next one maybe.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
But yeah, that's some really good ones. The I will
say the ones I'm probably looking for to most the
duck Chat other than Scotty j Rose Midichloriu's panel, that
is going to be the highlight of the entire convention
for me. M hm. The Douve Chang ones, those look fun.
I always love hearing Doug Chang speak.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Very intelligent guy, very like sociable, like entertaining.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
He doesn't seem like he's a very good like public speaker,
if that makes but he has a voice about him
and like a presence to him that it's just like,
tell me more.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
He's been there, he's been through it for he's been
like he's been standing. Yeah, he's seen some ship exactly
way put it exactly, you've been through all of that
and more. He's still standing. You know, he's one of
the one of the last standing. His film like from
from the Older, is really I'm sure like as far
as that goes, I mean a few others of course,
but he's one of the ones who's been there for
quite a while.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Absolutely closer to your celebration, Well, when we do our
celebration pre show, we'll have a look at what panels
are there and we'll be like, if more announced, what
ones will you? Oh no, this is the full schedule
this is what you think. So okay, that's what they've said.
This is the what is there is? What is there?
(06:05):
There is one that I am pissed that I'm not
going on the Sunday for.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Oh yeah, it's a it's.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
A fan panel. It's corrosal install wars.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Oh that's kind of fun. That's kind of fun.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
That's me coded.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Yeah, oh absolutely, that's your code. That's you all. Uh
one that I was forward to the motive and what
does it take twentieth anniversary of animation also doing a
sneak peak of what's coming up, So I guess I'm
guess that's where we get an announcement for that's where
(06:37):
not just visions. It's not right, he's he's he's part
of he's a big man, he's the man in charge
of that. I guess that panel hims with Tina, who's
usually the animated stuff. But the good news for me
is that's not going to be announcement of visions visions
to the tone panel, so that's what the own thing there.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
But I love visions.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
I'm excited about visions, but I wanted to see something
else besides visions coming up to the world Kid and
associated connected, you know, made my connectivity. That's my middle name,
at least my Star Wars middle name anyway wherein p
L D D because Ellen connected it. Okay, all right, fine,
(07:20):
I will say Also it's kind of mentioned on Force Center.
We love for Center here obviously we out the altar
of those gentlemen and what lady they mentioned it, like,
you know, it made me think about it.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
I kind of mentioned a.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Little bit last week. Celebration started off as exactly that
it's a celebration. It wasn't like a news drop place.
It was just kind of like getting vands together, celebrating
what had happened, getting to see all sorts of you know,
merchandise you can get to see, maybe have interviews and
cat like if they kept conversations with people from behind
the scenes, are people there. And then like you know,
(07:55):
over the years, like Comic Con, everything all sudden Colm
news became the thing like at hall Age, that's at
Comic Guy. I also a sudden Marvel's dropping all their
big news there, DC's dropping their big news there all
at the big movies and franchises dropping huge news at con.
That became like the thing I ever looking forward to
because they're going, that's where the big trailers are coming.
That's for everything else. And Celebration even started doing that
(08:16):
too for Star Wars. Obviously I was there for twenty
seventeen that the last panel came. We had a couple
of years ago, obviously when he had the Faulty Falls
Star announcement of the three movies that he worked on,
and that was the news.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
But like announce it.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
I feel like now it's like I almost wonder if
this is a conscious decision by them to get away
from from com news, because it doesn't seem like they're
the only ones doing that. I mean, yeah, as as
far as a couple of years ago, it feels like
the hall Ah isn't quite as big as it used to.
Like you see you hear about like Marvel skip a
panel this year. They're gonna skip a con this year.
(08:52):
Uh DC, They're not going to every con and it's
not every con is not news or anymore. I wondered
if Star Wars said, you know what cod dow and
for us, let's we'll announce things when we are ready
to announce them. It's not gear our things up. We
want to announce them. We we're ready to announce them,
not to the arbitrary weekend in April where you have
to announce everything. So let's get back to be a
(09:13):
celebration being celebration and we can concentrate on like, you know,
we know Manular and Grog, who's coming out a here later.
That's locked in place, it's filmed, we're ready to go.
We can have a conversation about that in the future.
We know we have an animated project probably coming out
in the fall most like let's my guess still, yeah,
maybe more late maybe December, maybe even might be like
(09:33):
you know, through the summer. You think it's possible when
they decided to Visions is gonna be It could be
Visions late summer and then they decided to do the other.
I mean, they might do it both at the same time.
I don't know what their process is over there at
this point. I struggle to guess. But either way that's
coming up, that's the animation project or whatever it is,
is probably locked in, ready to go, or like close
(09:54):
enough to being done that they can go, Okay, this
is happening. We have a release date in mind for this.
We can talk about this instead of like anything else.
I mean, hell, there's nothing about Sean Levy's movie, and
like Kathin Kennedy is not saying that there that's the
next thing to film. And if man Rogu is done
filming and Sean Levy's film is the next to go
behind the camera, then that's got to be starting to
(10:15):
film soon. So it's almost like they have even days
on that they're still not announcing it because they got
to see what the plan is at this point.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
So I'm kind of thinking this right now, A Soca
season two starts filming April.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Right April man right around that time.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
In what world do you think exists that a Soca
season two comes out before Mandaloria and Grogu zero really zero?
Speaker 1 (10:42):
I do, because they're connected story wise. My prediction on that,
Because they're connected story wise, I think Mandalar and Gogu,
which was supposed to be Mandalaring season four, I still
think that's the case. I know, I don't think it's
ever been officially fully confirmed, but that's just cut a
butt that makes most sense. That was always gonna come
out before Socar season two, and I think story wise,
(11:02):
this is gonna take place before Soko two, and just
because like filming and the long filming. It's gonna go
through the summer filming. Let's put it this way. It
takes so it's gonna take the summer to film. They're
not gonna be done filming. Probably it's the August or September.
Then you gotta get all the effects one and everything
else to get it out before May twenty twenty six.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
That it's gonna come out.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Is it it fall? I thought it was coming December
the film and Gurgu, Yeah, oh no, it's May May
twenty twenty six. It's a year from the it's a
year from celebration. Yeah. Wow. It wasn't one point gonna
be December. No, no, no, no, what it was. It
was supposed to be Manuelorna and Grogu was always May
twenty twenty six. I think it was gonna be a
Star Wars movie December of twenty twenty six, and that
(11:43):
has gotten pushed to the next year. Okay, that's what's
supposed to too next year, and then they kind of
like said, now we're gonna'm gonna push step back. Probably
Levy's film will be that one. I'm gonna guess it's
gonna be that One's gonna come out in twenty twenty seven,
which makes sense to because I've got to film in September.
They get through filming in a couple months, three or
four months. It takes a year to do special effects
(12:03):
by the time I've done to his dad. Therefore then
it's like December twenty twenty sixth the time it's ruled up.
Then then you have a couple months all other sto
to get ready by Mack. Yeah, so there's no way
Soak you can get ready in that time, I think.
Because think they finished the Soaka filming in August, then
August for September, depending how it is, then it's gonna
take about a year probably or.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
I was going to be the Mandaloria and greg comes
out in December, right.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
So that's yeah, So then w'ere yeah, I would I
would expect the Soaka to be coming out in the
fall of twenty twenty six, in between Anguela and Gregu
and the December or the May twenty twenty seventh film,
most likely Levy unless Mangle gets this shit together. But
I don't think. I can't think Mangole does a chance
to get that done by done at this point, so.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
I don't think it's to get any shit together.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
So yeah, that's my thought. I thought we're not going
to see anything. We have the Soca season one panel.
I mean, obviously I Faloney is there celebration, so he's
not going to be filming that weekend. So with that
in mind, how would.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
So they say? So they say he may come all
what did they used to say in the w W
when someone was in there and they came up on
the Titan Tron live satellite.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
But he's he's at the panel, he's doing the animated panel.
He's he's got to be there. So I think what's
gonna happen is I wouldn't be surprised if we have.
Because he had the soak up panel, which is being
labeled and discussed as a discussion of a Zocus. He's
in one. But interestingly enough, how long ago was a
sobas he'son one considered compared to like we've had Skeleton
(13:39):
crew accolate, none of those getting panels panel. So I
think there's gonna be some news at the end of
that one about season two, and Mike cast might be there.
You can see them coming out. I think for sure,
there's no reason why we're going to do that. Except
for the fact that there's a season two coming out.
I think that's the only reason they have a panel
like that. My own thoughts could be rare.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Yeah, well that that would be for our celebration. We're
getting dangerously closer to our celebration pre show.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
Yeah, we talk on this now.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Yeah, we're we're giving the We're given the episode away.
Let's come on, get to the you're the news town,
get to the tell it I put for listeners who
may not know. I personally stopped looking at Star Wars
news because I know I'm going to hear it from
Paul every week.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
He actually heard from me and reacts none of the
Maddy Gunn herself is not the deep dive. He's not
the interesting. Is the man the street sharing it for
the first time. Let's see what's going on. I am.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
If I was to have like a Star Wars personality,
it would be on dur scene. If I was like
a reporter on dar scene.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Nice. Nice. However, you'd have to be an in Zellan though,
I'm sorry you'd have to be.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
We'd have to get Molly David too a d R
because she does the best at that an impression. I
can't do it.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
That's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
I didn't get my voice that high.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
I can't either anymore. I used to be able to.
But I'm down in gravelly at this point for sure.
But yeah, we are gonna go into new That's a
good segue. I mean, obviously, I've seen the thumbnail. You
see the title. We are here doing our rewatch of
and Or season one, and we prepare for and Or
season two and one thing we kind of forgot in
a way. I mean, that's sorry, I forgot, but we
kind of like lost over obviously. And Or season two
(15:29):
we mentioned many times before, I mean out three episodes
a week, every our every Tuesday is gonna be a
three episode arc, and they're going for a year, and
they're gonna skip the next three episode are They're all
told in that fashion. So that's kind of how we
decided to do and Or season one as I rewatch.
But and Sheason one isn't completely like that. We had
(15:51):
the first three where we're one to the second three
year downing arc was one, and then we had this
like one one off episode in the middle, which is
episode seven, a.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Resetting of the board.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Before the Narkina three episode arc and then the two
episode finale arc kind of thing. But we didn't do
it that way. So technically speaking, we only watched two
thirds of the Narkina arc for this uh episode of
the rewatch, and we say that that but also means
we have two of the greatest episodes of vand or
in next episodes the next week's episode, which spoiler. I've
(16:24):
actually gone ahead and watched the last I'm only on one.
I only won.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Left, so I watched the entire Naquina arc and the the.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
So you finished, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, you finished? Yeah, me,
I will run out because I'm watching with Kim. Kim
on to rewatch it with me. It's like I'm watching
my own time now kind of, so Kim, we have
to schedule our watching. So we're so busy. People were like, Okay,
we can watch this, we get this. I can't do this.
Then O great, we have to get this I happen.
I'm like, I have to get in by Thursday. So
we kind of go, Okay, Sunday at too, we're watching
this episode. Then we can go off. All right, gotch
(16:54):
It's kind of like a lot of big moving pieces,
but we got them in and I'm watching the last
one on Sunday. I'll be there. And I didn't watch
the end or finale Season one finale. I can't wait
because I'm all into this point and I I haven't
rewatched like I think. I think I mentioned this last week.
I don't rewatch them as much as I used to,
so I haven't rewatched and Or since it was out.
(17:18):
I've caught like bits and pieces of it here. I've
like watched like some I watched the speeches every once
in a while, so he's catch up on YouTube, but
I haven't actually sat down and watched it. I'm like, God,
this is hitting hard. This is hitting so hard, and
I imagine it's so good.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
I've said this on the last couple of episodes. I
haven't watched and Or season one since it aired. This
is my first rewatch of it, and it's kind of
not only I but I've got a wholely perspective of it,
but this arc in particular, watching this now in terms
of the real world events that have happened over the
last week, with what's Khalid and the Venezuelans that are
(17:57):
currently being you know, illegally poor to El Salvador, essentially
being sold into slavery over in El Salbador.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
It's a lot of stuff going on, lots of But
the funny is Tony Gilroy said, and I really think
it's true. It's amazing like this isn't pointed, This isn't
supposed to be pointing out any one thing. It's most
to be a timeless show, and it kind of is
in a way.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
It just happens to be.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
We're just in a time that's reminiscent of time mystery
that we have not learned from our past in generals.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
But I mean it was just like the watching this
specific arc, this specific week, it was just kind of like,
what does tiny Gil.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
Right now that we don't you know everything? He knows everything. Yeah,
you know, it's funny talking about rewatches and getting off
the that's completely get off your subject. But I have
the subject rewatches. I'm doing my re canon through as
I've talked about many times, and going through the cannon.
I'm in higher public self, but I'm kind of eating
(18:56):
closer to closer. I am really looking forward to I'm
going to piss off a lot of people and watch this.
I'm looking forward to rewatch the Accolyte. I haven't watched
it since since it came out again, so I'm definitely
interested to watch it. Of Course, I got to realize here,
I got to make my decision because I'm doing this
chronologically speaking, like, for example, now I'm reading Escape from Valo,
(19:18):
which actually came out after I Have Darkness, but chronologically speaking,
it takes place before. According to the Wikipedia timeline, I
can and se, which is what I go by. So
I'm like, oh, I got to do that. Of course, Also,
the Young Jedi Adventures comes out, I go back and
watch those. I've already watched those. That's the thing when
I'm doing this. Can if something comes out, I've already
passed it on the canon timeline, and then I go,
(19:39):
I just gotta go plug it and read it. But
I'm getting to the Accolade and now teically speaking, am
I supposed to watch Accolae episodes one through eight? Am
I supposed to watch like the two Flashbacks episodes first?
That's what it takes flashback fuss. That's the thing I'm
wondering because I want to't like partly says I want
to do it that way, Partly says I should. I
don't know the show well enough to do that yet.
(20:01):
Like Star Wars the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy,
I do that in the back of my freaking hand.
So like doing different out of order, it's like a
complete It just totally has a new perspective for me.
I don't have the perspective enough yet on the Accolade
to have a new perspective on. But then the other
argument is maybe that's a good thing. It's kind of
cool to say this. How would how would does that work?
(20:22):
If we've gotten this like chronologically speaking, So you're right,
I actually might decide to watch a Machetie orger Wise.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
So when when I think when the High Republic Initiative
is up, we should do a like a big retrospective
of the.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
Entire the entire of the book stuff like oh okay, okay, yeah,
and we did do the our top five higher public
characters I think at one point, but yeah, wehould have
to go back.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
And maybe we should. We may like this, we're doing
an art by arc. We could do like.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
Uh face three, will we include the Accolade in that?
Technically part?
Speaker 2 (20:59):
I think we'll focus on the because we've already people
can go back and watch what we think of the act.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
Right, that's true.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
I think we can do that.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
We can do that, but but what but well kind
of what mean by that? Though the Accolade books are
coming out, like those are technically part of the iron Yeah,
we can, we can include this I don't know, but
not part of the initiative, which is it's kind of
a fine time like this is the initiative, and then
there's that's part of the I don't know. I don't know,
but we'll see that's actually something. Again, I don't want
to give us all away, but I let you know,
I'll go to drop it real quick before we get there.
(21:27):
I'm kind of hoping we get an announcement of like
another initiative, like the High Republic, like maybe a different
are like also the Old Republic giving it away. I know,
we'll talk about it.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
Was like it's like it's in like two weeks. I
can't help it, two three weeks.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
I'm excited. I'm excited. All right, let's get into it.
Obviously into our Genna show afternoons. We'll get into our
or rewatch a lot of stuff talk about there. Of course,
got a lot of little bits of news. Not a
lot of big news dropped, more like hit and run
kind of stuff that much of comments on. But it's
kind of like brief briefits. But first off, the first
(22:03):
one I got, I actually get these all from Star
Wars News. Now that's where I collate my news and more.
I suggest you call it your news. You can get
it from where you want. But I definitely trust their
I trust their acumens.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
I would say go to them before before anyone.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Else, because like they I mean, I have found stuff
that's not been on there that's kind of cool, but
mostly you get everything that's real there, and they'll let
you know if it's like real rumor kind of parses
out what's what's what do you believe in? What don't
you believe in the know this is definitely rumor se
So that's why I like to go to them. The
first one I had was The Light Magic. Season two
(22:37):
is going to premiere on April eighteenth on Disney Plus.
I actually haven't gotten all the way through season one
yet because I've been kind of like I've been having
so many other things I've had to watch, but I
have loved what I've seen, and I haven't had, but
I realized that we're going to get through season one.
But I love the fact whereak in season two because
this is a great, great documentary series so far, and
(22:58):
this year I guess.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
I really really really really like those kind of like
technical looking at their the inngine outs how the that's
that's kind of how the sausage was made that I
like to see, right.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Oh yeah, absolute, because he learned a lot of stuff
you wouldn't learn before. The first season was directed by
Lawrence kas and this season directed by famed former Star
Wars and director Joe Johnston. Uh instructing season two, so
just shout in PJ Campbell, who one of his favorite ructors, Rocketeer.
He just goes into that all the time, and I
(23:31):
love him too. I love him. Got Rocketeer one.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
Day, we need to do the Rocketeer.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
Oh, I don't think we're be able to keep PJ
off at that point, but of course PJ then it
would absolutely win because.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
We're trying to keep them off every month. I'm like,
we should get PJ on this one.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
I'll make it a three hour show into the four
of us on there at that point. But this one,
this season is going to begin April eighteenth, and it's
delving into the post Jurassic Park timeline. It's going to
delve into the development of the prequels, which is a
very interesting time for ILM. For sure, is where Lucas
films started to really because obviously it is well known
that after the original trilogy, and one of the reasons
(24:12):
why Lucas took so long in between, not only did
he want a light break, they also kind of want
to wait for the technology to kind of catch up
to what he wanted to do for the prequels. So
this is the development of said technology and everything else.
So I'm excited. I'm excited about Sason two and I
came for it to come out. So that's been a
season one first. But I'll get there. I'm gonna I'll
get there. Speaking of stuff, I got to get through
(24:34):
the next bit of the news. Young Jed Adventures. The
final episodes of season two are now on Dinney Plus.
They dropped on the nineteenth yesterday, and I watched the
first episode.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
We started talking about this, but then in typical fashion,
I said, pod, shut the fuck up. We're about to
record a podcast. Let's talk about this on this show. Yeah,
I think because because me and Poti used the before
this show, used to talk about Star Wars exclusively. Yeah,
in our Facebook chat. That it's just like sometimes we
(25:08):
forget we have a show where we can talk about
it face to face.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
We have clearly don't talk about it in her Facebook
anymorey barely ever unless I'm on like big news drops
like hey or something like that.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
But otherwise and then I tell you wait until wait
until Thursday?
Speaker 1 (25:26):
True? How right? How wrong? But we did talk a
little bit about this before the show Young Journi Adventures
animated show animate sort Sorry, any content continues to win, obviously,
this is going to be your mouths of me very
because this is a show obviously aimed more towards a
younger age, and we say that sometimes you know, Clone
(25:47):
Wars rebels and you know, sorry, content has been that way.
But this is like really obviously almost like toddler age,
not all tolerted, but you really young, like seven ten,
that kind of thing. However, so it is kind of
like as far as an adult storytelling wise goes, it's
kind of one and done. So it's nice, it's nice
(26:08):
as nice, but there are moments in there. I will
say there's a storyline involving a pirate table, and those
moments actually do hit and the really solid good storytelling,
and I like seeing that when even young kids so
has good solid storytelling and good solid Star Wars storytelling,
which is what I want to key in on it.
There's some really good Star Wars moments in the first
episode of that just dropped. I really loved it. I
(26:29):
really thought it was great, and I can't wait to
get into the rest of them and hopefully have some fun,
maybe some high connect and there are more connectivity issues
and there obviously last season they went to startling peaking
from the Higher Republic, so this is where another higher
publics show. But yeah, the rest of the season dropped,
and it's ready to go.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
I will get.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Through them because I because if my cannons read through
or see through whatever one I would call it, I
have already passed.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
That my cannon seat there.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
I couldn't just go to read there. I'm not reading
them also watching so yeah, so I had to go
back and watch these on the road because I've already
passed this part of the timeline. This takes place before
Phase three. But it's fun, it's fun, It's cute, and
I'm glad to see it's it's reaching the right people,
which winning awards. Still won another award the other day.
I had it up. I deleted it. Actually, I think
you're copy and paste over and accidentally they won another
(27:20):
award recently. They're doing good in animated an My content
has done very well for Star Wars, and I'm excited
it's continuing. I'm hoping that it is catching in the
view of younger kids. Getting get you the next generation
of Star Wars fans and most have you watched any
of the like have you watched I.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
Watched the first season. Yeah, I have it, and I
did enjoy it. It is very much as you said,
it's it is what it is. But people need to
remember that we with that age once. Yeah, and for
me it was like, ohbat Revenge is Tyler actually Tyler
(27:59):
Tubbs after my time, But like we had those shows
in our very very formative years, just because we are
the ages that we are now, me being forty three, poor,
being an ancient and ancient at this point I'm not
even getting I don't think we can disclose the numb
the age on Pool's birth certificate.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
Because my new uh my new pitch for two middle
aged gigs on film is PG is actually a young man.
I'm an ancient man, so we need to get you
meet in the middle for two middle aged geeks on.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Yeah, but yeah, I probably will watch it at some point.
But yeah, I think I think with things like that,
people need to understand the target demographic is not necessarily
for us. But that doesn't mean we can't watch it
and find something from it, because again, we were that
age once.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
That's a key point becase I don't actually don't thinknybody's complained.
It's not so many people are complaining about We've had
Obviously some you know, Red Eye people get upset about
how young Star Wars is for something. They prefer the
utull dark ready Star Wars they're getting and I am
really gotten Underworld and yeah they're like, oh skeleton he
is and for me because it's for curious and that
they complain about that a little bit. But this I
don't actually just see any complains about it. I think
(29:09):
it's understood and even they understand this, so like they
ablet it go. But the key point I want to
through out there for you is that what you just said,
I want to highlight that is. Yeah, you could still, well,
this is not something that I'm gonna rewatch. I'm not
gonna sit there and watch it all the time. I
just worth the watch through and you can pick up
on some fun stuff and have some fun moments. It's fun,
it's silly, it's cute. Yeah, gonna It's a good background
(29:30):
thing for me to watch.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
It's the kind of thing like as we talked about
the the young lady that I'm seeing has young children.
Mm hmm. I would say that this is a I
would sit down with them and watch this. If they
say to me, hey, we we like Star Wars, I'd
be like, okay, cool, I'm not gonna watch. You know,
(29:54):
we're not gonna watch this Siege Mandul altogether. We're not
gonna watch you know. I have the act light together
like that's a bit you know advanced in there. It
says me who was playing Grand Theft thought London at
like nine years old. But it's a I think it's
a perfect entry point for for young kids to get
into Star Wars. And Star Wars is a generational thing,
(30:17):
like it carries down generation the generation. There's always an
It's like music. Really, there is always an entry point,
like No One. No One's first band was Cannibal Corpse, like.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
It was then you know, good on you, I guess.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Like and I had this conversation over lunch with Kenna
Absolute like that my entry band was Lincoln Park, Right.
I had to get into Lincoln Park before I could
get into Metallica, before I could get into a FI,
before I could get into Cannibal Corpse.
Speaker 1 (30:46):
That's a good I'm trying to think what it was
for me, for Queen, I'll throw just throw it out
there just to innerjag that you can continue. I think
my first band was Twist's Sister just because one music video,
We're not going to take it. I want to rock
and I love them about those Yeah, it's like this is.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
My was that two songs in one video?
Speaker 1 (31:06):
No, it's the same the same album. It was the
same album. It's like they did like back to back
videos and the same theme and like they you know,
I want to rock It almost like a sequel video.
Same guy. I was in the same Dad figure with
in whatever Twist's Sister led to. I guess I would
say maybe I had a brief bit with bon Jovi
because that was one of the first bands I saw
(31:27):
in concert when I was really young. So I was
so young that I mistoke the opening actter bon Jovi.
I was like, oh, that's bon Joey and they're done.
That wasn't bon joe that was whoever it was. I'm like, oh, okay,
I watched mon Joey. From there, I went to Extreme
when more than the words came out, and then I
got led down that path to get the funk out,
which is like I was like, oh my god, this
is like they can do it acoustic, like acoustic Everly
(31:49):
Brothers sound, and they can do a funk almost red
hot Chili Pepper's funk metal kind of sound too. That's
freaking awesome. You never bet corporate guitars and Extreme is
who led me to Queen because did the Freddie Murcury
tribute concert.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
Ah, I'm shocked that it didn't got because obviously because
of reasons that we are every one of the shows
very well aware. I'm not going to name you up anymore.
Queen was one of the very first bands I ever
heard in my life, So I'm shocked that you went
that rope, you went that route, and you didn't go
Queen See. To me, the pipeline would go Queen to extreme.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
That's because you're in the UK. You remember, in America
in the eighties, Queen couldn't get arrested. They stopped touring
eighty two. They had to blipin eighty five, but they
were not big band at all until Really Boheman Raps.
They brought them back in nineteen ninety two. Was Wayne's World.
That's what also became a big band again. And Freddy
Freddy Murcury's passing as well. I kind of like knew
(32:43):
they're the background. Like it's funny that you have been
in my life for a long time. Like my I
used to love Flash Gordon. My parents had a jukebox
in the basement, like my father and my father owned
a couple of bars, and he brought a jukebox home
and or base. Yet we had a bar and the
based me put a jukebox down there and another little
bike's dust was on there. So I knew that one.
I obviously everyone in America knew knew Real Rocky with
(33:04):
the Champions was played every sporting event, so we kind
of knew. I knew who the band was, but it
was always that like separately, I didn't know they didn't
really connect them all at all. But then they kind
of got like they went through the thing with like
the record company really screwed them over and Freddy Mercury's
public guy scream over. There's a whole Queen documentary about it.
And they really couldn't get arrested. They didn't tour, their albums,
(33:25):
did pretty much nothing in the eighties. Live aid it
was a blip on them. But I think they're bigger,
almost bigger everywhere else. That's where they were really huge,
like stadium rockers everywhere else. But I really didn't until
Friday passed like ninety one, and then Wayne's World and
the Freddiemericon Tribute concert a ninety two, everybody started bringing
them back. That's when they became big. That's when they
actually really got into my circle.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
Like, oh, I know who these guys.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
I know Flash Scort, I know we were rocky, I
know we were champions. And then Extreme was talking about
their graces so much, and like, so is that that
That's kind of how it went for me in a way.
It is a little strange, but I get it. I
get it, but it's it's definitely America for sure. If
I was in the UK, I probably would have loved
Queen from the get cod and I would have like
been all the way through the que Queen would have
been the first and final band for me instead of
being just the final one for me. I said, I'm
(34:10):
an old man, I'm the final band for me, but
they are the final band from They're gonna like anybody
that guy like Queen, I'm different. I can't get that
passionate about a band anymore. Like like I went head
long into Queen of like for so many years, unintended,
exactly pun intended. I like that you picked up on that.
Good for you.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
Hey. I used to think that that song was called
Russian Russian Hedgehog and it was about Sonic the Hedgehog
because they had a song about Flash Gordon. So I
just assumed that headlong was about Sonic.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Why not? I mean they did do a song, and
Brian did a song while saving the Badgers later on,
so it makes a lot of sense to the animal
songs there, animal rice and stuff. But no, you're I
totally understand why you would be. You would be confused
being the UK guy. But yeah, they're my final band, because.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
I mean Quana Queen on my Beatles. Really, I was
never a huge Beatles guy. Queen with Queen of like
Queen all the it was in.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
My eyes, that's kind of what they are for a
lot of the world. I still don't think America understands
quite how big they are around them globally, like outside
of America.
Speaker 2 (35:12):
And with getting dangerously dangerously close to that. But I
would have thought that Adam Lambert joining Queen would have
made them like bigger that it didn't.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
Not like I think the Queen and Paul Rodgers era
was kind of overlooked a little bit. Adam Lambert from
back on the Spot, at least touring wise, they don't
do any material with them. That's part of the issue.
I think they just don't. They decided a long time
ago they kind of went with Adam to do a
they wrote in like a studio, and it never quite
stunded rights. They kind of gave up on it and
they just inventuring kind of Greatest Hiss for a while.
(35:50):
So I think it's kind of like their live show
has been big. They've got they gotta be like Matti
Square Gardener, like the arenas again finally here, but like
they just don't talked about much because they don't have
any music. Although Brian did say something about how a
new Queen song in front of him that he's been
maybe working that might see the light the day between
him and Roger, and I'm like, oh, that's kind of cool.
But we'll say, we'll say it's though, we should we
(36:10):
should move, we should move. We know how we got
onto there.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
You have no idea where that it was. It was
my music comparison, being like, there's everyone has an entry point.
Speaker 1 (36:23):
Right, everyone has a gateway. Every gateway during the back
Young Jedi Adventures could be doing.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
Jedi Adventures is some people's gateway bad?
Speaker 1 (36:31):
Good? All right?
Speaker 2 (36:31):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
I like it all right. Speaking of gateways, some people
have come through Star Wars through visions, the series that's
been entering third it's third season. This year we talked
about a little bit of the and I made Star
Wars anthology show I would do. The first season was
all japan animation anime. Second season they went around the
(36:54):
world of different animation studios, putting your own stamp on
basically non canon Star Wars taking their own little like
inspirations and making their own little thing. And back to
season three, they're going to Japan again, and part of
me things that can't help help that. It's like about
beating celebration in Japan and trying to don't get the
Japanese culture.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
And yeah, I think that's part of it. There's definitely
some of that, especially because the studio. One thing that
I noticed because I tried booking ticket for the studio
Ghibli Museum right are a lot higher than usual.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
Really, it makes sense, that makes sense, makes sense. So
we do have a little bit of news about Visions.
Did that come out? Hit out?
Speaker 2 (37:36):
Kajima is doing the entire season.
Speaker 1 (37:40):
That I know that's in your dreams.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
But although I wouldn't do a live action, I don't
want to do an anime.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
That's true. That's true before the season drops. I assume
before the season drops, we are we got our first
look at the upcoming third volume because one of the
episode has been submitted to the Anarchy Festival, which the
French film festival, and it's going to be debuting there
in I believe it's in June, which means to me
(38:10):
that Visions isn't coming out until after June because they
wouldn't put this in a festival. Wallower is Air and Disney.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
Plus it's kind of I'm going to say September October
time probably most likely. It could be August, it could
be houst, but yeah, I think that's probably about right.
We do get our first look at something. We have
an image from it, and the episode was titled Black.
I don't see what studio did this honestly in the article,
but the official synopsis from the French press release it
(38:40):
was written in French, so the translation could be a
little off.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
What I will not I'm sorry ready, I'll leave that
to your girl. A psychodelic battle between past and present,
light and dark, life and death rages and the into
the psyche of an Imperial soldier near defeat. It is
a Stormtrooper protagonist, and this is our first look.
Speaker 2 (39:09):
If I can't find the visual yeap that definitely looks
like some psychedelic shit.
Speaker 1 (39:15):
Yeah, yeah, pretty psych I don't have all for that.
This is, to me, this is what Visions does best.
It's a place where animated content can do very stylized content.
I mean, because obviously we've had Clone Wars, Rebels, bat
Batch and Clone Wars have had similar animated style, but
(39:35):
it's good. Definitely more towards the realism side. Rebels slightly
more tunish, but still ground in a sense of realism.
In a way, Visions is where we can kind of
go nuts and get like, oh so it's a crazy
stuff going on. It's one of the reasons I love
like some of the episodes last season. Both seasons were
(39:56):
phenomenally uh differently designed. We haven't seen a for and
it made for some very entertaining stories or entertaining pieces
of art. Actually it's really art. That's what this is.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
I love.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
I love the idea. I love that. I mean, it's
not much to talk about sides. It's storm Trooper protagonists
and I look psychedelic. But I'm looking forward to it.
I'm excited for visually.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
If he's suffering defeat, I'm going to guess it's on
end or do you reckon? He's taking like some some shrooms.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
Maybe maybe I could be absolutely be.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
Some some psychedelics in and then I love it.
Speaker 1 (40:30):
I think it'd be great. Maybe some kind of nerve
ageing or something. Could they But anyway, that's that's that's
really it for that. It's kind of cool thing to see.
I'm glad we're gonna get that first. We'll probably don't
see it first, but I have to hear about it
a little bit, little teaser as it were, for Visions
season three. I'm excited. I'm excited about Visions. I hope
I Visions continues. I don't think they've announced this is
(40:51):
the last season or anything, so I kind of hope
it just keeps going. I think I think you just
just just keep going in definitely, as long as it's
it's getting enough us and animated people want to do it.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
Always independent animated studios that would love to jump at
the top that you know, jump at the chance to
douce and some stuff I would love as well if
they ever did, like a fourth one that's just Japan.
I would love to see a full studio Ghibli Studio
Ghibli season or or Studio Ghibley Star Wars animated film.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
Well, I thought that's what really they should be doing.
I still think that they should be doing that. In
away we have, like they just announced from Marvel, John
Berthall doing a Punisher.
Speaker 2 (41:37):
One off actually off the spoiler a lot.
Speaker 1 (41:42):
Yeah, yeah, good stuff, absolutely, but that that's the kind
of thing I feel like Star Wars could dig take advantage.
If I've mentioned this before, I've kind of sound like
a broken record. I think Star Wars could throw dig
advantage of that. They can have the idea of let's
take a character, like a one off character, give them
just we don't need to Disney Plus TV. I we
don't need like an eight episode whatever Twitter million dollars show.
(42:03):
Just give me a ninety minute special, some one story focus,
one core character a lot like you know, thirty million,
forty million dollars and get that and see what happens.
That could actually be really cool, uh, in a way
to give you the content that matters and the.
Speaker 2 (42:18):
Budget that they're spending on Manalorie and Grogy, which I'm
sure is probably one of the newest topics you've got. Hey,
if you don't look at the news, I mean I
listened to the show, it seems to be all everyone
gives a shit about is how much people spend on
these movies. With a valid point. We have raised criticisms
in the past, but you know a little bit, spend
(42:41):
a little bit less and do it like a Disney Plus.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
I would love to see that absolutely and see ghibli
thing would be absolutely that idea, especially for Disney.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
Channel, right like you would have like the Recess movie
on Disney Channel.
Speaker 1 (42:52):
Yeah, they were like that, absolutely that the way I mean,
we're still discovering what streaming is and what that means
and everything else. Obviously, we talk last week about and
Or's new push and how they're doing it. They're putting
out Hulu for a season. The entire season's on Hulu
now three videos are on YouTube. But are trying different
ways to do things and way to push things. Maybe
(43:13):
network TV thing is a way to go. And I
think I've heard that can actually say that. I'm for
center A cannounces like says, some of there's rumblings out
there that and Or might see a network TV slot
at some point.
Speaker 2 (43:23):
I'm saying it needs to happen.
Speaker 1 (43:26):
It should it should? I think you put on Disney
Plus first, and did you put it on network TV
later on to get to catch everybody else to do
the albums? Of course, then that there's the argument at
that point, it's like, well it's on Disney Plus first,
is that going to hurt it on a network TV slot?
Speaker 2 (43:40):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (43:40):
I don't know what the I don't know what the
answer is. I mean, so overestimated Disney plus to worry
about that or is that underestimated plus and all of
a sudden, your main fan base, your Star Wars fan
that as well. I've already seen it, so I'm gonna
watch it because this is where it's got a different conversation.
But like, this is kind of it's amazingly how it's
it almost hurts me to say, but it is true
(44:02):
how Star Wars branding can actually hurt the show. We
talked about the other way story branding helped the show.
Like they called star Wars, they called this star Wars
and or they call it star Wars ah Soka, they
like put that star Wars in there. So, oh, this
isn't justice. This is a Star Wars show. My guy,
a Star Wars show. So I Star Wars fands watch it.
But there's a lot of people out there with Tony
Gilroy mentioned that they love Tony Roy soft Michael Collins
(44:23):
and stuff. Collins. I say, Michael Collins, Michael Collins, Clayton,
that's what that's the lead of movie. I'm talking about Willis.
But he like has a fans who are like like,
I love your style, yourselfing. He's like, well, did you
watch and Or? And like, you know, no, it's it's
kind of Star Wars thing. I don't know there are
(44:44):
people out there who will watch because there's monsters, there's
sci fi, there's space wizards and stuff. So that's where
the Star Wars weren't actually kind of hurts it in
a way. So it's it's just see how old with that? Okay,
next we got let's see and Or Season two timeslot
confirmed April second, twenty second, six pm pzze. Okay, that's
(45:08):
what we stop. What's that? What's that time?
Speaker 2 (45:10):
Is that? For you? Six?
Speaker 1 (45:13):
And for me?
Speaker 2 (45:14):
Uh well the times change back this weekend, I think,
so that would be one o'clock in the morning. I
think seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, eleven.
Speaker 1 (45:28):
Yeah, that is rough. Oh, eleven is not right, No,
it can't be. It was nine pm for me, nine pm.
Speaker 2 (45:36):
Okay, I said five hours nine pm PM from you,
ten eleven twelve, one two in the morning in the morning.
Absolutely not, absolutely not. I'm watching when I wake up.
Speaker 1 (45:49):
That's fair, that's absolutely fair. It's perfect time for me
and I nine pm grade for me. I'm gonna take
some time off work and make sure I don't to
go win it that night, and I'll watch it so
I can get make sure I get all three episodes
in the first night. Interesting push. It's an interesting push.
Speaker 2 (46:03):
I actually have we are times to deconreate it. Times
you wouldn't have times on as if it wasn't a GMT.
Speaker 1 (46:13):
Mmm, you're right, yeah, well you can cling onto that.
And we have the Hollywood time zone.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
This is.
Speaker 1 (46:21):
Hollywood time zone. That's the most important one basically at
this point for this kind of concept. Unfortunately for you,
I will say I have started to come around on
this way. They're pushing it or they're putting it out,
because I remember at first we we dropped it, I
was definitely hesitating. So I want to be I wanted
(46:41):
to last twelve weeks a lot to be this episode.
You know, drop an episode, move on, drop up, So
move on. I have a chance to sit with it. Well.
I still have some misgivings about the fact that you
have to watch all three or else you can't go
on social media. It should be spoiled.
Speaker 2 (46:57):
But I love that.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
I do you like the idea? I know you do.
I know you do. I kind of like the idea
more and more like, because what we mentioned before is
that they have not been making TV shows. They've basically
been making certain hours of content and just slicing it up.
Speaker 2 (47:15):
So that's it. Yes, movies, they've been making a movie
every it's we're pretty much again a movie a week,
every week for a month.
Speaker 1 (47:25):
And if that's the case, especially in the case, especially
in the case of this season, how they're set up
in the three episode of ARCS dropping a movie weeks
kind of cool thing.
Speaker 2 (47:35):
We are essentially getting what you wanted, a Disney Plus
movie right a week?
Speaker 1 (47:40):
What is streaming TV show?
Speaker 2 (47:42):
What is that?
Speaker 1 (47:43):
And you kind of brought up last week and I
was I pushed back on a little bit, But after
sitting on it and thinking on it, I really going
into it. I've kind of come around on a little bit,
and yeah, you're not You're not wrong because I am
exactly what you are more than a pretty face, but
you are a very pretty face. I haven't out, but
I am. I understand what you're what you're what. I
(48:03):
understand the idea behind it, and it is exactly kind
of exactly what I was saying pitching it that way.
Maybe that's what TV should become. Maybe we shouldn't have
TV shows anymore. It should just be blocked so that
maybe that's the way you do will be won. No
six to eight episodes, just hey, just do a ninety
minute movie or do a series of ninety minute movies.
I think what I would like I would like to
have gotten in like maybe spread it out, like in
(48:26):
terms of get a Tuesday and then like a bi
weekly release, maybe where you get three episodes a week off,
three episodes a week off, three weeks episodes. That might
be that might help my spreading it out a little
bit to enjoy it and letting me sit with the
movie instead of going right to the next movie. Because
I mean, you gotta remember back to the day I
started movies. For like three years in between movies, so
(48:47):
you gotta sit. That's how I started loving them. You
try to get into them.
Speaker 2 (48:50):
That's what I want.
Speaker 1 (48:51):
Now it's a seven year break, yeah, the movies. But
giving me a week in between gives me a little
chance to sit with that movie and go, okay, now
let's go over the next one. But I'm more on
board than I was before, so I'll give you that,
all right, little last two bits of news we got here.
This is a fun one. I wish I was in
(49:11):
all over. This CCM Classic Film Festival in April twenty
fourth is going to open, but he's screening of the
Empire Strikes Back with George Lucas in attendance.
Speaker 2 (49:24):
The Maker leaving the house.
Speaker 1 (49:26):
The Maker himself is presenting The Empire Strikes Back at
this festival.
Speaker 2 (49:29):
Way wait, wait, wait, way, George's leaving the house.
Speaker 1 (49:34):
He is leaving the house.
Speaker 2 (49:35):
Thought we all agreed that this was a terrible idea.
Speaker 1 (49:39):
I'm saying good on him for doing it. He's getting
out of the museum, he's getting into that or getting
out of the house, and he's going to be showcasing
Empire Strikes Back. And that's awesome. I would love to
be in that, in that in that audience for that.
Speaker 2 (49:52):
Iowa too. But can we not have him like dialing
vi Alle, Like he's not John Williams, gonna live forever.
Speaker 1 (50:03):
Don't worry about George. He's okay. I think he's okay. Harrison,
He's Yoda. Here's Yoda.
Speaker 2 (50:12):
You can crashed planes in his old age and lived
to tell the tale.
Speaker 1 (50:17):
He's still going. But he's still going. Oh, God, I
wish he was stuff flying the fucking planes. You know, seriously,
my God, please, for our sake, just knock it off.
Speaker 2 (50:26):
Oh for our sake.
Speaker 1 (50:30):
Yeah, your sake, not your wife's sake, not your No,
I don't care for that our sake.
Speaker 2 (50:38):
Uh, you're right.
Speaker 1 (50:39):
Okay. So that was a little quick news. But I
love that idea. I wish I could be there for that,
to be honest with you, but you know, he is
to look on. Whoever wants to go gets to go
because it's gonna be something important. I still cherished the memory.
Speaker 2 (50:50):
What's the festival. I'm gonna look it up.
Speaker 1 (50:52):
C CM Classic Film Festival, CM.
Speaker 2 (50:54):
Classic Film Festival. I see if I can find tickets.
Speaker 1 (50:56):
Go on with the next day, I will say, last
bit of his I'll drop on that is like, I
hope you do it in every good time. I still
cherish memory of the celebration from twenty seventeen where the
forty dinniversary of Star Wars panel of George's there and
it was still just a fun, really memorable experience and
everything else for a lot of reasons. But so all right,
(51:17):
last bitter news is the aforementioned news that Maddy kind
of teased earlier with his little job. Yes, the Mandalorin
and Grogho's budget has been leaked, or I don't leaked
to the right words, not like it's ben announced, but
it was like on a website, we're talking about California
had those tax credits for films, and it talked about
the budget of the films that were filmed, and it
was revealed that the Mandaloriin and Grogu had a tax
(51:40):
credit of your twenty million dollars. But it was revealed
that Jon Favreau directed film got for ninety two days
between late June and late November last year, and any
budget of one hundred and sixty six point four three
eight million dollars, making it the lowest budgeted film in
Star Wars since Disney took over. The lows previously was
(52:03):
Rogue one at two hundred million, and it is actually
the lower end, so the lowest, and it's kind of
comparable and technically, adjusting for inflation, it's even lower than
Legs the prequels. Yeah, and I think if I read
correctly the prequels, if you cause they're they're notentoriously, I
(52:24):
think one hundred and hundred million twentyion something that or
maybe less. I don't remember what they were, but I
remember reading the article. Adjusted for inflation, they were like
about two hundred million or so. So this is going
to be one of the lowest budgeted films in Star Wars,
and I don't know how I feel about it. I
am I have two trains of thought in my mind,
and I have been chewoting for let's let's get lower budgets.
(52:50):
The budgets in all movies have been in the same Recently,
they're making six five hundred million dollar budgets that they're
not making it back. They're wondering why they're not making
their money back, and that's causing consternation amongst studios, which
I don't really care about their consternation, but I do
care about how that affects getting more projects going forward.
That's what I care about. So I've always thought we
should do lower budget stuff. I've beenalking about lower budget
stuff for Disney everything else. So one hundred and sixty
(53:13):
six million dollar movie is absolutely one hundred percent going
to make its money back and more like as new
Star Wars in one theater live action Star Wars filmed,
the first one since twenty nineteen is absolutely gonna make
the money back of the budget hundred and six six
six million, no doubt in my mind. Yeah. So that's
a good thing, and that's a good thing for Lucasfilm,
a good thing for Disney, and it does mean we
(53:35):
can get more stuff going forward. The flip side, we
haven't gotten any leaks from this at all, Right, nothing leaks.
You know what that means?
Speaker 2 (53:45):
Good?
Speaker 1 (53:45):
Good, but not good. And here's why what Here's why
it's not good. It's not good because that means they
didn't shoot on location, which means we are getting a
ton of volume.
Speaker 2 (53:57):
Okay from that.
Speaker 1 (54:01):
The volume is good for what it does, but on
a big screen, I don't know if it can handle
without looking cheap. Okay, So the fact that I don't
like the leaks and self, but having in leaks means
that shot on location and shot on location means forgetting
I love the production where they shoot a location like
and or shoots on location and you see it and
(54:21):
use you see it when Ober One used a volume
the entire time. That's one of the criticism of the
over One show, and I understand that was it. It
did look a little cheat, your little Chenzy that was
on Disney Plus. Now we're talking about a big screen adventure.
Speaker 2 (54:35):
Counterpoint, they've had they have until May. It's been in
the can for a while, right, They've they've shot.
Speaker 1 (54:43):
It November last year.
Speaker 2 (54:45):
November of last year. Okay, they've had from November last
year to May next year to work solely on the visuals.
And I think that's it. That's more than enough time
for them to make it look.
Speaker 1 (55:01):
Ten years might not be enough time. It comes to
me that basis of location shot, if you're not the
location shot, it tends to sometimes look cheap and gency,
and even Mandalorian has at times like keeping gen Zy,
wish you can get away with much more on the
smaller screen.
Speaker 2 (55:18):
That was on Scalot. The scalon crew that was shot
on the volume looked pretty good.
Speaker 1 (55:22):
On the small screen.
Speaker 2 (55:24):
The Batman looked fucking awesome, and a lot of that
was shot on the volume.
Speaker 1 (55:28):
It could be good. I'm again, I'm not saying a
bad thing definitively. I'm just saying that on the other
side of the argument makes me makes me a little
little concerned, possibly concerned.
Speaker 4 (55:43):
Don't get to watch the movie first, absolutely, And I'm
someone who's going to go in that way.
Speaker 1 (55:53):
You know me about that, But I always think about
things like which is just it goes through my mind
when's like that got a little budget. I want this
to be really successful. I really want this to hit
a home run, to really kind of kick us on
the ass.
Speaker 2 (56:05):
You don't have to be Mickey seventeen, right, I don't
like I watched that video. Yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (56:15):
Enjoyed Mickey seventeen, but that was a.
Speaker 2 (56:20):
Yeah, it's a great movie. I wish that movie made
a lot more money than it did, but but yeah,
they fucked up with that. Yeah, and I feel bad
for balling June Hope because he's one of the greatest
living directors and absolutely crushed it. But yeah, that was
a fuck up.
Speaker 1 (56:39):
Yeah, you know wrong, you know, I mean again, I
said what I just said before. It's gonna make its
money back, obviously because of a lot of other factors.
But it's what happens after that. And this looks chimsy,
and it looks like a TV show brought to a movie.
Has that lesson experience for some Are people not going
to come back for it? I don't know, I'm just
I know I'm worried. I know I'm worried about way
too much things. Now, I get it, But the same time,
(57:00):
it just it is something that flows to my head, like, uh,
I wish we had a little more location shots, but
saying they might like the budget being low for that reason.
So I have I got both answer, I got both
hands going through it. We're gonna find out more, obviously
in a month or so. So hopefully the trailer will
knock it out of the park and I'll be less
(57:20):
worried about it. Mandularian She's in three trailer, kick the
shit out of me. I love that trailer and know
some people your miles may vary about the quality of
She's in three said this season three is chincy looking
at times. Okay, that's fine. I think this one needs
to be a big one. I think this needs a
(57:41):
big head. So but I do wonder, like, what does
that mean going forward? Is that like the new budget
going forward?
Speaker 2 (57:47):
Or is that because this.
Speaker 1 (57:49):
Was a one two situation or this is the momount
of two situation where Bob said, hey, what are you
working on? She's in for the Mandalorian.
Speaker 2 (57:57):
Can we make that into a movie?
Speaker 1 (57:58):
Yeah? I guess I could do that, all right? So
cut off like maybe two and a half hours. Well,
let's cut your budget down to whatever that would be
two hour wise and A right, yeah, well we won't
get in the theaters. And John's like, yes, I'm sure
I could use the volume and do that. Yeah, I
can do that. You know what I mean? You know
what I mean that kind of thing, I kind of monitude.
It's forced into theaters when it's not necessary. Theater to
theatrical release. That can realization too, But what is it
(58:19):
going forward? Like, does that mean that James Mangles shunk
Leavy's movies are gonna be that low?
Speaker 2 (58:25):
Because I know John now right exactly so, especially Mangos
with what he's gotta pull off. Absolutely not right.
Speaker 1 (58:33):
A lot of interesting things about this film. I gotta
be honest with you because I gotta say, will people
show up? And won't people show up? There's a lot
of positives. While they absolutely will, is it something that
makes me question? This is not episode ten? There's not
an episode in the episodic series people shut up for
(58:54):
a one mostly people did not show up for so long. Yes,
there's tenuinting circumstances, I get it, But is the Mandalin
and grogu again, it's like, outside of the Star Wars circle,
is Mandular and Grog enough to get people become the
more casuals to come to the theater for a Star
Wars movie. M I think we argue both ways. You
(59:17):
could argue both the ways. Grog who's out there. But
is it the point where people are like, yeah, I
watched the first three, he's the Mandlo and else wait
for it to come streaming. I'll watch them when I
come on streaming, because that's why I watched Mandelarin Groom
in the first time. Where do they go, like, is
this an event enough to be an event film?
Speaker 2 (59:35):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (59:36):
I don't know if the answer is. I hope so.
I think. I think the very fact that it's for
Star Wars in seven years, I think that helps a lot.
Obviously that there's a lot of heavy lifting for you.
But almost like it feels like the Ray movie should
have been the first one because that's like episode ten,
because it's back in the theaters that way, that's the
big splash. I don't I don't really know. I don't
have the answers. I'm just throwing questions out there for
you to ponder, and I have my opinions, but what
(59:59):
are your what are your thoughts?
Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
I think the Mandalorian and Gregory, the Mandalorian in itself
is big enough to pull in people, I think, I think,
especially with the amount of money they're going to make
on Grogu alone.
Speaker 1 (01:00:14):
Right, Yeah, I hope, So, I hope that's the case
gonna be. I hope that's the way we're moving forward.
So all right, last real brief bit is the new
logo for the movie has dropped. That's a little much
different from the one I saw previously, but it's a
nice one.
Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (01:00:30):
I'm here for it, I'm heading for it. So there
it is, right there. The I do love dinn and
Andre in the o right there? And yeah, good, So
all right, let's move on to our mean topic and
or season one episode seven through nine. We had the
(01:00:52):
one off episode announcement and in the first two parts
of the Markina arc, and if you don't know our show,
we go through these things via catting h and then
we kind of wrap things up at the end. It
kind of makes us hit our bits and pieces throughout.
Usually we do these episode by episode, so it's usually
one answer to a category because that's usually all there is.
(01:01:12):
We allow little leeway now with these because we are
doing with three episodes. We're just gonna cover them all
at once, so that's why we might have a little
more than one answer. We will rate the episode at
the end, all three episodes individually. But yeah, let's get
let's break right into it. These three episodes, which we're
gonna treat as an arc er or whatever. The first
(01:01:33):
one we got it's not Honda Watch, guys, in case
you miss last week, case you miss last week, we
are we are suspending Honda Watch Her and Or and
we are going on and Her. Honda Watch will come back,
and just so you know, I'm not like, we're not
abandoning it. It will be back, but we know Hondo's
not in.
Speaker 2 (01:01:53):
Who's still on the logo right, We haven't replaced the
Hondo with Muss on the logo yet.
Speaker 1 (01:02:01):
But we will say that for and Or and probably
during the season two. We'll also be going into Mosque
Watch Linus Mosque, who we loved so much the first
his first arc. Last time, we just want to see more.
We can't get enough of his character if you want
(01:02:22):
to see more of him. Unfortunately, Mosque Watch twenty twenty two.
This three, these three episodes. Yeah, the answer is no,
he did not appear in these these three episodes. Unfortunately. No, Ye,
Dann Tony, you failed me. Tony one job. You have
(01:02:42):
one job to give me. Linus Mosque.
Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
Uh, we really got champions from most.
Speaker 1 (01:02:52):
We are we will be the only ones. I think.
I don't know I've ever heard anybody else talk about him,
But I love that guy. I think that guy is
a great actor, great fun performer. I let up on
it on the screen. Is just fun. He's just fun.
He says he's not in season two, hoping he's lying,
hoping he signed an NDA and it makes all of it.
(01:03:15):
But yeah, all right, let's move on to our next category,
character of the week character, because is where we just
it's straightforward. Who is our favorite character of the week,
And for these three episodes, we can name one or two.
I'll want you to go first to highlight your first choice.
My first one.
Speaker 2 (01:03:35):
Is actually mother.
Speaker 1 (01:03:39):
Marvo. Okay, cool, cool, talk to me a bit.
Speaker 2 (01:03:42):
The way that Cassian returns home to Ferris and everyone
else is kind of blaming Cassian for the like the
Imperial occupation because of everything that he did like his
assault and everything that happened is the reason that the
empire is now on Pheryx. But then he goes to
hit his mom. He goes to Marva and she basically says,
(01:04:07):
you know, you've inspired this rebellion, like this is what
your dad fought for. Remember when you confront because he
confronted those clone troopers for hanging his dad on Rick Road. Yeah,
and it's his mom saying like, your dad would be
proud of you, like this is everything he for and
died for what you did.
Speaker 1 (01:04:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:04:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:04:30):
She is a wonderful actor. I first came to her
through Harry Potter, as Harry Potter is a wicked stepmother,
their aunt or her aunt in the beginning.
Speaker 2 (01:04:44):
Oh ship, that's right. She was.
Speaker 1 (01:04:48):
How I came to Vienna. Maybe hate her, maybe hate
her so much so she did her job, your job
very well, and she makes me love her in this
In these episodes as well, this show entirely something about her.
She reminds you. She reminds me of like an elderly
relative I have. She's stuck in her ways. She loves
(01:05:10):
Cassian so much, but she also is sick of the shit,
and she's seen some shit and she's not going to
let it go, and she's like, I'm too old to
let it go now. I can't live with myself and
I love the fact that he does. She doesn't judge
Cassian at all. She says, it's a great The great
line of dialogue is like, you know what, that's not
(01:05:31):
where you are now. I don't need you to stay.
I don't need you to fight. I'm not going to
judge you for taking the money and running. You have
to do what's good for you. I just can't run
and live like that anymore. I can't do it. And
I'm always going to support you. This is my life,
this is what I need to do.
Speaker 2 (01:05:49):
Card I really want to give away one of my
courts right now, but I'm gonna say it because it's
one that she says, and it really okay, Yeah, I
have I.
Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
Wonder what the same quote I wrote that I want
to a bunch of coats, But I'm wonder if it's
the same one. We'll get there that we'll save it,
We'll save it. Let's not jump bad.
Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
I will highlight.
Speaker 1 (01:06:08):
Let's see I'm highly My first highlighted person to do
is it's another obvious why it's Keno LOI, it's keen
O LOI.
Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:06:15):
Granted, we haven't quite gotten we haven't quite gotten the
biggest moment from Keno yet, but there's something I remember that.
Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
That's why, that's why I haven't.
Speaker 1 (01:06:27):
I'm gonna throw it out there anyway.
Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
I get it.
Speaker 1 (01:06:32):
If anyone suffers from our doing, from our breaking up
the Nartina arc, it's because if that was an Artina arc,
I think a hand down, he probably be our number
one for for both things in a way, but he
still is a phenomenal choice to Andy Serkis.
Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
Of course.
Speaker 1 (01:06:52):
I remember when he was cast and we're like, is
Keno snoke? Is this a snoke thing?
Speaker 2 (01:06:57):
Is he? Like?
Speaker 1 (01:06:57):
Is this the beginning of the Snow character? I don't
what's going on that? Like it was weird, but it
was kind like I mean, obviously you couldn't help but
think it's like okay with different, Okay, cool cool.
Speaker 2 (01:07:09):
He forget how I think it's because he's such a
great voice actor and a great motion capture actor. People
forget how just damn good of an actor Andy is
because he don't he.
Speaker 1 (01:07:21):
Hasn't had the chance. He got pigeonholed into that motion capture.
But the reason why he's so good at motion capture,
if you watch those videos of him becoming Gollum or
him becoming like Caesar, I mean.
Speaker 2 (01:07:32):
Was because he saw his cat choking on a ferbal
and he was like, he's a cool let me try it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:38):
His physicality is bar none like phenomenal, and that's that
is acting. That is the real acting choice. Yeah, you
don't see him on screen, but you do see him
on screen. He is entirely unscreened for column. But yeah,
because of that, he never really got the opportunity or
doesn't get as many opportunities to just perform as like
(01:07:58):
you know himself in a way, and it's a case
where he does. He is one of the greatest characters
in this show because he highlights that I'm a badass
at times this show in general, I will say, I
don't know if I put this to my note.
Speaker 2 (01:08:13):
For this or I hate him in this. In this
arc that we're talking now, the character King couldn't stand.
It wasn't until the pother we'll get to.
Speaker 1 (01:08:24):
Later on that I was like, Okay, even then, I
understand because he is a badass character who is petrified.
He is petrified of life he only is. He becomes
like a careful you set me an asshole in the
beginning part, and he's like kind of running the floor
for the empire because that's something he can control. He's
(01:08:49):
not he doesn't have control of his life is his
life has been, so this is something he can grasp
onto and take control. That's what leads him to be
like proud of his not proud of his exists. But
he's making the best of what he has. If he's
gonna do this, he's gonna be in here for in
his mind two hundred and fifty more shifts. He's gonna
take ass and take control of those shifts. And but
(01:09:14):
you can see it. He's so layered with his performance.
You can see and underneath that grupphic stereo that there's
something going on underneath. Yes, we get to a little
more later on, but it's there on the rewatch, knowing
what he's gonna have, what's gonna happen. They see it
more on this rewatch and he gets more there and
(01:09:35):
that's why he's still like just a phenomenal actor choice
for sure, great character, great character.
Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
Yeah, and like we said, he's the fact that I
had that reaction of like this guy is like a
show for the for the gods and the imperial is,
and then he has his quick time around shows that
redemptionisty wars is a key thing. It's a very key thing.
Speaker 1 (01:10:08):
Yes, yes, absolutely. Don't you have anything else you wanted
to add in a character you wanted to highlight?
Speaker 2 (01:10:16):
I can't add Melchie yet, I really wanted to say Melchie. No,
I think that I think Keno and and Marva for
this art were definitely the two.
Speaker 1 (01:10:30):
Okay, that makes sense. That makes sense. I'll throw out
there a couple of different ones, hopefully. I'm I'm sure
I got the right. This is the problem with me
jumping ahead that I have some things in my mind.
I wrote notes down everything else. I believe it's this.
I want to throw my moth by it in there.
Speaker 2 (01:10:47):
Jennevieveley, God, how the fuck did I miss that?
Speaker 1 (01:10:52):
Genevieve O'Reilly is wonderful, a wonderful actor, and I'm seeing
even more this time through because she chooses to be
subtle about it a lot of times. It's not like
a flashy performance in any sense of me. It's not
like the performances of Tino. What we're gonna get not
(01:11:12):
even Luthen. It's something it's hard to even describe, but
she has these moments of like what I'm talking about before,
she is petrified. She's doing her best to like work
against empire, but she's doing it the way that Luthen
came to understand, Like she is in public dealing with this.
(01:11:40):
It's it's kind of a scary. It's a scary, scary
moment for her. She has a lot writing on this. Yeah,
more than almost anybody else, obviously more, I gotta say,
more than anybody else, because she's doing it really in public.
What's awesome about this? There's this underrated scene in announcement.
Speaker 2 (01:12:03):
Are you gonna talk about the three? The three of
them in the in the room?
Speaker 1 (01:12:09):
Which one? Which one from right?
Speaker 2 (01:12:11):
You've got just Richard Delane, Ben Miles and Genevieva Riley
sitting on a couch and it's kind of like the
part you know, my politics might not be for everyone.
Too strong for your taste, too strong for your taste,
And I, oh man, imagine being the director with that
(01:12:34):
level of talent, and just god, that scene was so
fucking good.
Speaker 1 (01:12:40):
Yes, absolutely, and not only that, like the my favorite lite.
I'll say it for a line. There's a lot of
dialogue that really hit me away. I'm like, oh, this
is good stuff. Not only that, but even before we
get there, just him her end and Tay tay right right.
(01:13:01):
The party, even that is just like, oh, I see
where we're going here. Smile that's the quote. That's okay,
that's like, that's what my fair lights are out. I'll
get out of there. But she does smile. It's phenomenal.
And the conversation she has with the other stenators where
you see you can't tell she's like pushing because she cares,
(01:13:24):
but she knows she can only go so far. And
they make a joke out of it, and you want
to like smack them in the face, but she has
to kind of like and laugh it off and like
kind of like pull herself back. It's like this really
tug of war going on.
Speaker 2 (01:13:35):
It.
Speaker 1 (01:13:36):
Wow, so cool, so cool. So mon is my other
one of the favorites of the week for sure. I'll
also highlight again party as.
Speaker 2 (01:13:48):
Yeah, I jumped the gun last week as well. The
mof you Lauren is in this episode.
Speaker 1 (01:13:53):
That's what yea thought. Well maybe it was in the
background I couldn't remember that. Oh that's where it is.
Speaker 2 (01:13:58):
And you spend most of the episodes and you didn't
want to jump the gun, and I'm the one that
jumped the gun.
Speaker 1 (01:14:03):
It's all good. It's all good, but part of guys
and Vell also still is really cool. This is the
these this is the arc where we discover who she is,
and it's a great reveal. It's a great reveal like, oh, interesting, okay,
And she does a great job being that kind of
like it's funny how Sinta treats Velle, which is kind
(01:14:25):
of harsh. Senser is very harsh on Vell, like no love,
no time for love, Doctor Jones kind of thing. Bell
kind of does that to mom. She has almost a
similar conversation. Its almost like Sinta schools Vell on it,
and Bell turns around and basically kind of schools monits
like you may know we got to do this, we can't.
You can't pop around pretty much and that it's a
(01:14:46):
strong performance from her as again, because Bell is a
strong character in the sense of that you can sell
she's scared shitless. She doesn't have this exterior like you say,
your hero having the I'm gonna kick your ass and
I'm a but she is scared shitless, but she's like
still trying to be brave, and that's the important part.
(01:15:06):
It's a powerful thing.
Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
Very Also, we didn't talk about the scene in Luthen's shop.
Mm hmm, yes, yes, oh yes, when Luthan pretty much
says Cassian's worth has run out.
Speaker 1 (01:15:22):
Right right, let him go get them? Oh scary. So
it's it's it's intense. It's a very intense sequence. By
the way, I realized this. I don't know if Tony
did this on purpose, but two characters have names they're
very close to Leah.
Speaker 2 (01:15:42):
We have Claia and my mother's daughters Leeda, l E.
I d a. Well, that one was already already was
that elected book?
Speaker 1 (01:15:53):
Okay, I couldn't remember that, and I wasn't sure about that,
but very interesting. I'm like, well they like, Wow, they're
just like both characters basically two letters letter off from
being lay.
Speaker 2 (01:16:03):
Yeah. Maybe, I mean we are fans about general Sorry.
Speaker 1 (01:16:09):
That's true. Absolutely. I could always see a tribute to
her for sure. So all right, those are our characters.
Let's talk about our lines of dialogue. We jumped together
a little bit with Smile, but some of our other
favorite lines. Uh, let's get the one. Let's get the
one out of the way. I'm gonna say this one first.
I know it's on your list, I know it's on
my list, It's on everyone's list. Never more than.
Speaker 2 (01:16:32):
Twelve goddamn right. That's the best fucking line in this
whole arc.
Speaker 1 (01:16:37):
That is where Andy Circus and Keynot becomes the character
that you know a lot that you get to. It's
been bubbling underneath, but he's been all about he's had.
It's amazing how much he turns, or how how much
he grows in this three episode are and in a
second the second episode, he's kind of flipped switch a
(01:16:58):
little bit, but doesn't feel rushed at all. It feels
completely earned, entirely earned. He is this badass leader of
the crew that he is all about the imperial within.
You're doing the Imperials, and Cassidan starts getting to him,
he starts realizing things. You can see his mind working.
He's getting more and more like worried and upset. He's
getting he's getting like he's towards the end. Right before this,
(01:17:20):
he's getting like upset and like he's patting say on
program you don't know what's going on.
Speaker 2 (01:17:27):
Shut up.
Speaker 1 (01:17:28):
He's like he's losing control. Yeah, and then he sees
it and he finally gets the other on the doctor
who Love passes RP Who Love. That's when it has it.
He knows that he's confirmed all of his worst fears,
and that's when he's pissed. And that's when he's flipped
the switch. And after casting had been asking him all episode,
how many cards are the we need to fight back
(01:17:48):
and he's like, no, we're not fighting bah blah blah,
He's there. He's hit it. Never more twelve twelve.
Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
God fucking the way he delivers it to like stone faced,
staring forward, never more than twelve like he'd like. At
this point, it's like he's in. He's like solely committed,
let's go. My other one was from Marva where she
says that's love.
Speaker 1 (01:18:13):
Nothing you can do about that. That's just love, Nothing
you can do about that. Yes, I tell my list
as well. I was like said I sudden, but yeah, those.
Speaker 2 (01:18:22):
Like Cassion has probably gone his whole life like knowing
that he's loved, right, these people care for him. But
the Marv's like essentially saying no, you're on your path now.
There's nothing more I can do for you, like you're you,
You're on your journey now.
Speaker 1 (01:18:41):
Like cool, that's like He's like, I can't live without you.
I'm always I'm always be worried about you. And that's
like parents should always worried about their kids. That's life.
That's love, That's what it is. It's nothing's gonna ever
be perfect. I going with you is not. You'll be
worried about me, whether I'm going through or not. That's
what's gonna be. That's love. Can't change that. Go a
(01:19:02):
livery life, awful, well done, well done.
Speaker 2 (01:19:04):
I know you can relate to that.
Speaker 1 (01:19:06):
I absolutely can, hundred percent I can. So it definitely
hit me. I was ahead of me. Cut more you out.
We already mentioned the other one, the politics being too
strong for your taste. Great lines is nice, Well, she
repeats it back. That's the best part, jo, he says it.
It's kind of a fun like okay, okay, man, like,
oh what are we talking about? When are we talking
(01:19:27):
about the kind of thing? Okay? Cool, good stuff. There
two other ones I want to have, three other ones.
I want to mention. Do you have any more you
want to you want to throw up there.
Speaker 2 (01:19:37):
No, those those were the main ones. The It's love
never more than twelve. I'm gonna go on, Oh, don't
give me a parrot. No, you did this last week.
Don't do don't give me a parent line.
Speaker 1 (01:19:50):
Please luck feeding the galaxy. I'm off to feed myself.
Speaker 2 (01:19:55):
Such a smock prick. I love it. I love it.
Speaker 1 (01:20:02):
I hate it, but I love it. He's so good
at what it does. No, I gotta get that out
of the way, because that's two other ones. I do
want to mention real quick. I do, like, I really do,
like what were my words? He's just he's talking about
that the way he's gonna talk, and I like, this
(01:20:23):
is sorry, mom, you knew what's going on. What were
my words? And he's like, she's scared death and he
doesn't give a I mean he does, but he doesn't.
He does have caring, he's not completely har list. But
the rebellion is far more important than any one person.
I told you this was gonna happen. You knew this
(01:20:43):
was gonna happen, you committed. This is what this looks like.
Remember what I said that and finally put out there.
I love every line that part of Gad says because
of his delivery, He.
Speaker 2 (01:20:59):
Says, you go one of the greatest British act stage
actors of all times.
Speaker 1 (01:21:03):
Yes, is this please? Thank you all for the lively session.
Watch your back.
Speaker 2 (01:21:17):
God, yeah, I jumped the gun twice, didn't I watch?
Like that's this one? Yep. I'm it's so good.
Speaker 1 (01:21:25):
Part of Guys is legitimately underrated. I know I don't
hear any people talking about him very much, but his performance.
I think he's in season two. I think I looked
up that he's in season two, and I'm happy because
he is phenomenal.
Speaker 2 (01:21:37):
You can't have him there. He's I think he's one
gonna bite the dust when they go to bomb the
I s b building.
Speaker 1 (01:21:48):
I could be the one to go. Yeah, that would
suck him. I don't him stay throughout him animated, put
him in live action, somewhere else, mosque and part of
gas together. Oh my god, we got I wouldn't sufer
him that.
Speaker 2 (01:22:05):
It was kind of a I gold beed by therapist immediately.
Oh I love that.
Speaker 1 (01:22:13):
Alright, alright, that's it all right? Next category took that
in your holocron and snook it. Explore more. Lord a
bunch of things that I had a couple, but I'll
let you hit me first.
Speaker 2 (01:22:24):
I want to know more about kind of a because
they bought it up on the Tony Gilroy stream. What
the hell was mausche in for?
Speaker 1 (01:22:37):
Great question? No, that's one thing. If you know the
funny thing, that's the news. But I totally forgot to
even add to it the Tony Gilroy stream, and there
wasn't a whole lot that was. It was a little fluffy,
little like talk teas in one and oh, great, great conversation.
Wonderful conversation. I love hearing Tony Gilroy talk about it now.
Speaker 2 (01:22:52):
He's really kissing up to the podcasts. That's what thing
I do have to say about that. He's getting a
little it or too close. Don't you dare lose that
punk rock integrity, Tony.
Speaker 1 (01:23:05):
I don't think you will. I think you will. Not
a lot of news, but but it's very it's a
very good fun conversation. Take a look at that. It's
all over there, moderated by Ashcross and the Goat. Wonderful,
that's phenomenal. What she at her job there, nice appearances
by everybody. I talk about this into They mentioned a
bunch of time. They didn't talk about this in too
hardly at all. There's all just one good which is cool.
(01:23:28):
But they had when they had Duncan in there, they
were like, what what do you think me she was
in for? And like I said that he's very like
anti authority. He doesn't like being told what to do, right,
And this made me think what was in there for?
And just general like these prison planets? Right, how many
are that?
Speaker 2 (01:23:45):
Because when you have the I know this is the
in the next arc, when you zoom ount you see
multiple prisons there? Do they have like multiple prison planets?
Speaker 1 (01:23:55):
Right? I mean you have to say, right for the Jedi,
so bel Savus was the world? I mean they said
you go to Narkina, that was the world. Was the
name of the prisoner the name of the world. That's
not right, Yes, it's the world.
Speaker 2 (01:24:10):
Because the aliens. It's a little pique.
Speaker 1 (01:24:13):
I am jumping the gun a little bit just because
it matters as far as yeah, when you subtitled this
says Narkinians, so there are people of that world, So
the world must be Narcina five. And if they weren't
going to Belsabus, that was the other one. That and
or was sent to like when he got his You're
on Narcina five going nut Shuttle bel saves is the
other world mentioned? That must be another present present planet.
(01:24:34):
So I think so, I think you're right on that.
Interesting give you some point. One point. I want to
bring up Claia. I want to know more about Clia.
I want to know where from and which because like
I want to know Luthan, absolutely want to know. And
that's that's kind of a little thing. We'll talk about
that next week. I have a conversation that happened. I
(01:24:57):
wanted to touch base with you on for next week.
But yeah, is so she's not one dimensional, but she's
so hard and so more, even more than Luthen. She's
so direct. Where did she come from? What's her deal?
Speaker 2 (01:25:16):
What's her Joe?
Speaker 1 (01:25:19):
That's what there's no I love the character. I like
the character. You don't get a lot of not a
lot of sympathy from her, not a lot of empathy
from her, not a lot behind it. But there's gotta
be some reasons she got that way, And I'm kind
of curious how she got to be where she is.
How did she look up with Luthan? What is their
relationship is just are they just like together? Are they
(01:25:40):
are they together?
Speaker 2 (01:25:41):
Is?
Speaker 1 (01:25:41):
Are they related? Are they just working together? Like there's
something there's something intriguing about what that is? Speaking of
that similarly, because of Vel's revelation to Mon and then
Vel kind of, like I said, being the center to
her being like you took a note, you got to
(01:26:03):
do this. I want to find out what came first
chicken in the egg? Did Bell bring Mon in? Did
Man bring Villain? Who met Luthen first? And who brought
like who in first?
Speaker 2 (01:26:18):
That's a good question, right, I want to say it
was Vell that met her first, and like maybe Mon
was like, because we still really know nothing about Luthan
at this point, no nothing. I would hazard a guess
like Mon is aware of him because he's obviously visited
at shot multiple times. Right, but like Vell maybe like
(01:26:39):
fell in with.
Speaker 1 (01:26:40):
Him and was like, hey, did Mon directly fell them
like as a very as a.
Speaker 2 (01:26:47):
Maybe my mistake, right, took her into the shop one
day and and Luthan was like, I see the potential
in you?
Speaker 1 (01:26:54):
Yeah, right? Could be that it makes we know that
like does Mon and luth and have a previous relationship
before the rebellion. We know mon Simon the delegation in
two thousand. We know from Mask of Fear canon wise
that she was arrested and tortured at one point spoiler alert,
(01:27:14):
there was earlier on. I'm only fifty percent of the
way through Maskafear, so this is definitely earlier on that
the book learned. I think I'm like seventy's it's good.
It's a fun book. Not fun funds the wrong word,
but yeah, it's fun.
Speaker 2 (01:27:27):
It's all fun reading good.
Speaker 1 (01:27:31):
But we know about that from mon so Min. It's
not like luten needed. It's not like mon need a
kick in the pants from Luthen to join the rebellion.
Mom was all in and the rebellion the rebel rebellion
side of things right away. But where did Lutheren come in?
Speaker 2 (01:27:43):
Who?
Speaker 1 (01:27:44):
I guess that's the way too. I mean, I said,
who brought the veil bring Mond or the bond bring Vellain?
Did Luthen? Did Man bring Luthen and Luthen bring Mon
and did Luthen brings I want to know about how
theies all began and who contacted Hoofs and where things started,
because that's what's.
Speaker 2 (01:28:02):
Interesting to me at this point, I think we'll find
out I think so.
Speaker 1 (01:28:06):
I hope so too. I hope so for sure. So
I mean this one, we have what we know when
we have as partisans. We have the rebellion, Mon's rebellion,
m Luthen's sidebar, which may or may not be Mon's rebellion,
we don't really necessarily know. We have Anton Kreeger his people,
(01:28:29):
a little sparks of rebellion all over the place, which
is kind of interesting. So I'm kind of curious. Part
of the story is the bringing the ability. Obviously Mond's
speech and rebels is what brings everybody together except for
sas group or whatever. But it's kind of an interesting
point to see who got where first.
Speaker 2 (01:28:49):
I just thought of one, Yeah, the K two. But
we I think we're gonna divulge away from how and
Or meets K two.
Speaker 1 (01:29:03):
Oh, the comic book is not going to the one.
Speaker 2 (01:29:06):
I would love that. I would really really love this
if the K two droid the arrested Cassian ends up
become K two. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:29:17):
Hellow, I wondered about that. I thought that was debunked.
I thought that was bump someone, but maybe I was.
Maybe I'm wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:29:24):
How would be if their first ever interaction was K
two arresting Cassian.
Speaker 1 (01:29:29):
Right, I love that. I'd do it. Great, they can
they get working then later on against the personality and
somehow it it'd be very interesting to say for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:29:36):
I just had that light bulb moment. I was like,
that would be pretty sweet.
Speaker 1 (01:29:41):
You know, actually I said this. I heard about this.
I remember they said they're bringing K two s o
in and almost everyone including myself, was going, well, okay,
the canon comic book that was released back in twenty
sixteen or seventeen where it showed out pass and K
two met it was probably gonna be put by the wayside,
(01:30:02):
and that was gonna be the end of it. Right,
It's probably gonna be the end of it. But and
I'm okay with that. I think that there's some people
who got stuck on well Lucasfilm said that everything mattered
and everything was canon. Yeah they she did, you know
what fair play Kashlin Kinna did say that, and it's
being proved wrong. And I just think that people sometimes
(01:30:25):
overreact about it. But I think you gotta get to
the home where like, Okay, some things are gonna be
cannon until they're not and they can tweak things all
the time. Oh so we always talk about it, the
campfire storytellers things. There's different things going on. So while
I was like thinking in my head that that's definitely
gonna change, I almost wonder now if it doesn't change,
because I wonder if they just don't bring up how
(01:30:46):
they met, would I be surprised if Tony Gilroy is
because we're doing those three episodes arc one, year three
of pisode ark is, it's gonna be like the second
art or occasionally just with cass In they just talk
about that would be a really.
Speaker 2 (01:30:58):
Good way of Tony gill Or being like, I ain't touching.
Speaker 1 (01:31:00):
That they just all of a sudden that happened during
this year the year off we hit now there together
and because it won't take long, you have a quick
thing of like, oh, well we met on the They
could even like reference the comic, like in a very
broad roundabout way I met. I think it's on the
Star Story. I think there's when they met. I forget
exactly where I can'member the comic.
Speaker 2 (01:31:20):
I haven't writen sure it was yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:31:24):
Yet you say something off the top and then then
he doesn't even worry about it could happen, could happen?
Speaker 2 (01:31:30):
It is not?
Speaker 1 (01:31:31):
Is it gonna kill me? No, I'm not gonna care,
but it is it's a it's a thought either so mhmm. Yeah, Okay,
anything else for your put this in your whole corns
no better? Are you good?
Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
No? That's it. We can We have nothing.
Speaker 1 (01:31:43):
Icagar On seen a lot of action our favorite action
beats to this ar and I got to be honest,
there wasn't a whole lot of actual action in these
three episodes.
Speaker 2 (01:31:55):
Yeah. I think it kind of determines how we address
action action. Yeah, because in terms of like suspense and
there's like action in the sense of stuff starts to
really boil to the surface now m And just that
(01:32:17):
moment when they're all in like everyone's waiting to go in,
like there's some kind of log jam to get back
into the room and they all start looking out. They're
like they're trying to do the hand signals and they're
trying to work everything out. There's something that's like I
guess that's probably the most action that we got other
(01:32:37):
than Cassie and being held up by the droid. But
it was it's action in a sense of like anything
could have happened.
Speaker 1 (01:32:48):
In that moment, the gravity bit. Maybe sailing to first
learned about the gravity floor. That's kind of an action beat, yep.
Speaker 2 (01:32:55):
Is, No, you're not wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:32:57):
Most of my ones. I threw up there was lava, lava,
try there find the Lloyd lava. Uh hell, never more
than twelve for like a punch in the face. So yeah,
I felt like an action beat to me, and I
actually threw in there, and you can your mouth's like
very this might be a cheap cop out. I think
the Mathma and Tay conversation was action. It was tense
(01:33:19):
action playing that scene back and forth there.
Speaker 2 (01:33:22):
It was like punch Dallas by Square and the jewel
for suggesting that they that kids get married.
Speaker 1 (01:33:31):
Exactly good stuff. Actually it wasn't the dabble meeting in
the I think it was. I think that was the
tenth episode any thing. Yes, you're right, you jumping ahead. Yeah,
that's actually the three. That's the Actually, you know what
the funny thing is, you brought that up earlier the
episode kind of like I was like, I think that's
(01:33:51):
the tenth. I'm not sure because I was talking about
the Tay and Mathma scene is my favorite ever in there.
Speaker 2 (01:33:57):
I was like, that scene's in there?
Speaker 1 (01:33:59):
Is that in this one? I didn't think so, But yes,
I'm gonna conferm it. Now that's in the next so
that'll be a I've seen to talk about next time
for sure. Okay, yeah, but yes, uh okay, I think
that's it for that laugh it up Fuzzball our figure
comic moments of the week.
Speaker 2 (01:34:15):
I had two, Okay, good, get good, good because I
only had one because not much really made me laugh.
Speaker 1 (01:34:21):
No, it's not very funny, not very Edward's not a
very funny show. It has moments, but it's not very
fun overall.
Speaker 2 (01:34:26):
Cassie on waking up in what I can only assume
is the Star Wars version of Magaloof, which is like
anyone that's ever been on holiday in Magaloof, It's like
I Beatha, but like this really scummy version of my Betha,
like if you can't really afford the God or I Betha.
That was yeah, And it was shot in this place, Cleuey's,
(01:34:49):
which is a seaside town here in the UK that
I have been to a couple of times. There is nothing.
There is a tiny little seaside coastal village town with
absolutely nothing there other than the little post office, which
is the building that you see in the shop in
(01:35:11):
the actual episode. That building is a post office.
Speaker 1 (01:35:16):
Okay, okay I called it. I was calling it Space Miami,
but that maybe that makes per sense.
Speaker 2 (01:35:21):
Okay, Yeah, the idea of cash and just waking up
with some random chick. Yeah, those credits weren't going to
be there when he got back, right, hit them above
the shower? Do you think, like, if I'm looking for
someone's mind, if I'm about to rob someone in a
hotel room right after spending the night there, right, you
(01:35:45):
don't think I'm going to look above the shower.
Speaker 1 (01:35:49):
Well? You know what, though, you got to add, you
know they didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:35:53):
I would love if in season two he goes back
to that same room and the credits are still there.
Speaker 1 (01:35:58):
Well he did? Did you leave it there again? Because
he does that there and of the end of the
arc last episode he did when I watched, he did
go back and get it.
Speaker 2 (01:36:06):
Did he go back and get the credits? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:36:08):
He gives Melchie the uh way he found the box?
He was he Actually, we'll talk about that next week.
I guess maybe be missing will be sure he watched
he sneaks on some guy sleeping in the bed and
then he actually grabs the credits and the gun.
Speaker 2 (01:36:20):
Yes, you're right, Yeah he does Melchi the gun from there. Yeah,
but I completely blanked on that. Yeah, you're right. Okay, No,
that's the thing. He gave Melchi the gun, right, he
had to.
Speaker 1 (01:36:34):
Well, he opened the block, he opened the box, so
I took the gun. It's implied the credits were there, Yeah,
because he started playing with the credits and so I'm
playing he took him after that? Yeah, yeah all right.
Uh for me, they were pretty funny though, it was
still pretty funny him just in general, waking up there
(01:36:54):
and being called out by some uh lady of the
night as it were, or whoever he's with at that point.
The lines of dialogue, there are two lines dial It's
funny thing is I should combine I speak with comedy,
because that's usually my favorite bits of comedy. It's usually
more of the lines that are spoken. One was by
(01:37:15):
B two email, Uh can I speak now?
Speaker 2 (01:37:19):
No, I didn't find that funny.
Speaker 1 (01:37:26):
I got hilarious.
Speaker 2 (01:37:28):
You would. I was heartbroken that they him like that funny.
Speaker 1 (01:37:34):
It was funny as hell. Uh for you two email.
I get, admit it's sad, but it's it's the other one.
I'll say, what would you find this one more? You'll
find this one more funny? I know you won't. Line
of dialogue from Vell when parent kind of talks ship
to her parents say something about like, well, you're not
(01:37:55):
getting at a younger you. You're gonna pay mary, you're
not married yet. Oh my god, whatever it is he says,
He goes, yeah, all the good ones were taken. I
pointed directly towards him. I was like, I like, it
was the I'm gonna be very nice about this, so
we can't acknowledge that I'm really fucking insulting you. But
I'm fucking insulting.
Speaker 2 (01:38:16):
It's like it's in what's it? What's that phrase like
in like like small people insos, like just like insulting
with intelligence, right right.
Speaker 1 (01:38:25):
Right right, yeah, exactly, insulting, And that's what it is.
It's like it's too it's too high brown for him
to even understand. He didn't get. He's like, okay, whatever,
so I did like that for sure. Uh all right,
let's talk about let's rake this episode and then we'll
ring actually rank anything anything these notes you had in
there about like a Yaels wanted to talk about the
fit a category necessarily, Okay, I had a couple of ones.
(01:38:47):
I did highlight fuel purity. I don't know what that means,
but it's I love the fact that they club all
these lines in syrial. We didn't talk about Cyril at all.
Cyril and what was going on.
Speaker 2 (01:39:02):
Getting a job.
Speaker 1 (01:39:03):
I love the fact that all of those jobs that
Cereal gets talked to about are they just sound like
the most boring possible jobs. And the guys I asked,
actually like they're great jobs. Get fuel, fuel purity, wonderful, awesome, great,
Like what.
Speaker 2 (01:39:24):
Even is fuel purity? Like fuel comes out of the ground.
Speaker 1 (01:39:29):
Like I guess they mix it whatever they mix it with.
I don't know what's going on with it, but like,
oh my god, that's your standard. This what you're killing me.
You are killing me.
Speaker 2 (01:39:42):
It's like he fools so far, so you almost root
for the guy, but then you really remember, oh no,
you are a piece of ship.
Speaker 1 (01:39:52):
Mm hmmmmm. It's it's fun. That's a fun moment, though
not a line of dialogue. I forgot to mention, this
is actually what you brought up earlier about was the
player and vel uh uh conversation that they had. At
one point she asked something about where vel ash, where's
(01:40:13):
so and so we're into that Claus has his lines.
She's doing what she was told. I pointed out, like,
you're you're not You're being a dumb ass right now.
I loved it though, A great point of volnable class.
So good. Uh. The other things is really quick. I
love the cells in Narkeina, Like they don't like they
(01:40:36):
just have the floors. They're wide open cells, but they
have like the doors.
Speaker 2 (01:40:39):
It's kind of like a like a hostel really yeah,
because you go stay in a hostel where it's like
everyone's in the same room. Yeah, and you you're all
in bunk beds a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:40:50):
They get unloaded food. I gets such a they don't
as they just need. Yeah, but the unlimited nutrition of
the need too. They're not starving you like, I mean,
it's not good, it's not fun. You get flavor as
the reward is to get flavored in your food. That's awesome.
That's that's just like interesting ways because you always look
at Imperial prisons are starving. They're starving, you know what
(01:41:10):
I mean? It's that kind of like typical trope in
this kind of situation, the harsh government is treating their
prisoners poorly, and it's not that you're treating well, but
it's an interesting twist, like you know all the food
you need because I needed to all to work for me. Yeah,
absolutely did not talk about doctor Gorst and the torture
of bicks at all. Wow, that was holy ship.
Speaker 2 (01:41:35):
They were for sure playing Creed in those fines. That's
the only thing that could make me have that visceral
of a reaction. If you put halfway Creed.
Speaker 1 (01:41:46):
Oh my god, there's far worse bands you could choose.
Would Yeah, I don't love Creed, I don't like I
don't even like Cream. But Creed to me like we
had a conversation I think before Creed back.
Speaker 2 (01:41:55):
To me Western Creed that you could put like on repeat.
I'm talking Guantanamo Bay style, like they put Marilyn Manson
on repeating Guantanamo Bay.
Speaker 1 (01:42:08):
Kind of think who else would be worse? Like, well,
I don't know. I can tell me crazy repeat it
and Great and Nickelback are both to me, they're just
so land like it's not like bad torture. It's just land.
Is this bland corporate rot was a choke bullet to me?
I couldn't. To me, I'm kind of like whatever, it's
(01:42:28):
background noise, Like, I'm like whatever, it doesn't bother me,
Like I don't care about it, and i'd like to.
Speaker 2 (01:42:33):
But I'm sure like some of the bands that I
listened to actually do sound like nails on the choke bot.
Speaker 1 (01:42:38):
I wasn't gonna say that as you saying that kidding,
like more like I don't know, like something I really
don't like, like some kind of country song with a
twenty voyage like that would be more tortures like.
Speaker 2 (01:42:52):
That.
Speaker 1 (01:42:53):
What are you? That wasn't too bad? I'm tiking like
old school country twang, you know, clever.
Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
Compromise, compromise because I kind of like some muldichopole country.
This new like boyfriend country that we're seeing.
Speaker 1 (01:43:07):
Now mmm.
Speaker 2 (01:43:10):
Mm hmm, not a big fun guys Like actually I
like Zach Bryan so like I take him out of that,
but like like Morgan Wallan, I like that kind of
like new boyfriend.
Speaker 1 (01:43:23):
Right country, Like it's just like ship twangyar the voice
the worse it is for me, That's what I gotta say,
that's why I can't handle this tiny voice. So but
that's I love Dutch Wars. I love the fact that
we don't hear it because the description of it is
so terrible that, like, actually hearing it would probably be like,
that's not I could. Your mind is always going is
(01:43:45):
the Jaws thing. Your mind is always going to make
it worse than what it actually is. So give us that. Like,
that's just a proper smart way to demonsters, smart way
to do this. And the torture sequence, I like, I
like how they said it, and I like how they
left it, and just seeing her acting and seeing the
music around it that was perfect. And also by the way,
(01:44:07):
I love the nod to episode of four as like
the door closed when she's being tortured and the kind
of around to the floor or whatever they walked through it.
Just the episode of four shot you you can tell
that was exactly what that meant that was supposed to be.
Speaker 2 (01:44:24):
Yeah, it's pretty much shot for Shop now that I'm
like watching it back in my mind, it's pretty much
shot for Shop.
Speaker 1 (01:44:30):
It is exactly what it does.
Speaker 2 (01:44:31):
It's a shot shot thing, and I love it.
Speaker 1 (01:44:33):
I love it. It's a great quote, great quote. It's
a great quotes. It might have been the director, might
not have been. Tony might have been the director was.
Speaker 2 (01:44:42):
I still think Tiny's I'm a Star Wars fan.
Speaker 1 (01:44:46):
One last thing I'll throw out there. Before I read it,
there was this great shot what episode I wrote these
notes down. I think it was in I think it
was in the third episode. Yeah, Belle leaves and mod
moth Uh gets uh. It's a shot of man Mathma
and it's like from far away and it's like this,
(01:45:09):
and she's leaving this music playing, and she's so small
in the shot, so small in the shot, and it
makes it feel claustrophobic, and it makes it feel like
the world is coming down on her.
Speaker 2 (01:45:18):
It makes it feel like closing in.
Speaker 1 (01:45:20):
Yeah, it's powerful in there, and it's such a great,
great shot. I love that. It's one of my favorite
bits of the Terror.
Speaker 2 (01:45:29):
Because she's trying to find out how to hide this
money hundred. As soon as she is the slime Moon's
coming to that body, she knows.
Speaker 1 (01:45:38):
Absolutely, absolutely okay, so let's right the right these and
get out of here. So on a scale of one
to eleven is always turn things up to eleven here
on Buldy projects. What do you rate Episode seven?
Speaker 2 (01:45:52):
I would give seven an eight point five.
Speaker 1 (01:45:55):
Eight point five, Okay, I gave it a solid eight.
Speaker 2 (01:45:57):
All right episode, it's a nice little like reet end
of the chess pieces, like we've had the one game,
now the next one starts. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:46:06):
Yeah, I almost put a seven point five because of that,
because its kind of like that kind of pause. I mean,
it's not like it's not a filler episode by any
sense of the imagination, because we don't use that ordinary.
We don't hate we hate that word no enhancement episode
because all that stuff happens. We need to get there,
we need this piece to get to the prison arc
and everything else. But it is definitely a kind of
a pause. I got just this, let's move the chess
(01:46:28):
pieces around, let's move the you know whatever. But yeah,
I still give it. I still give it an eight.
It's solid, really solid one. About episode eight.
Speaker 2 (01:46:36):
I would give episode a I think we give it nine.
Speaker 1 (01:46:42):
Nine go to an eight point five, so both the
same range, and it looks like you're about a point
five higher than me every time.
Speaker 2 (01:46:46):
It seems take so far.
Speaker 1 (01:46:47):
How what episode said then? Or nine?
Speaker 2 (01:46:50):
Rather? Right? This stuff solely based on the very lost
line more than leven point five. If we if we have,
if we have added category of fish pump moments, Oh
(01:47:10):
that is a fucking hell of a fifth pomp moment.
Speaker 1 (01:47:13):
Absolutely understand. I'm right there with you. I gave it
a ten. I gave it a ten, so we were
Actually it's exactly point five below you every time. But no,
same thing. It's it's on the strength in the end.
But the whole the whole episode is the whole week
going through and all the stuff going on with that,
especially with the conversations going on. We have the torture sequence,
we have Vel's thing. We got a lot of good
(01:47:35):
stuff there. So I actually might go back because of
the Tay and Mon scene.
Speaker 2 (01:47:42):
Yeah, I gotta stop, I gotta stop watching ahead because
all of it starting to blur in.
Speaker 1 (01:47:46):
Yeah, that's what it is for me as well. So
I'm gonna bring that back and say maybe Ay and Mon,
I might bump that up to you where you were
eight point five for that episode as well, because that
was so good. But yeah, that's gonna do it for
us this week, folks. We're gonna be back next week
to finish up Indoor Season one. Rewatch as we get
ready for season two coming up. Matter recans folks find you.

Speaker 1 (01:48:28):

Speaker 2 (01:48:29):
