Speaker 1 (00:10):
PLD Projects presents Holy Smokes, a Star Wars podcast featuring
PLD and Matty Gunner. You may the Force be with
you always. What's up everybody, and welcome back here to
(00:40):
yet another episode of Holy Snokes. He's Star Wars podcast
here in the PLD Projects Network. I am your host,
pl D and with me is always my Heaterold life made.
The man who's going to Japan. He's got a plan.
He's gonna meet stan He's on the lamb. Maybe not,
I don't know. I'm just rattling out. But it's Matty Gunner,
how you doing? My friend.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Stand on my meeting? Because the only stan that I
would want to meet unfortunately no longer on this on
this mortal plane, other than maybe the tucc But I
don't think Stanley Tucci's con found as a guest.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Not yet, not yet. You never know he's coming back
from Maybe he would be a great you'd be if
if Jeremy Allen Way can play a hot I think Stanley.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Tucci would be a great hut I too, would it
not be that to have him as Senator Tucci?
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Oh? I like her her heads out there? That works,
that works, you know what? Tucci would have done, but
good at the character in book Bubba fat the uh
the major domo of the mayor. Apologies, apologies guy.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Oh yeah, yeah yeah that guy, that guy.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Yeah yeah, I really fun. I could have been really
fun for him. So yeah, there it is Stanley Tucci
confirmed and he's they're recasting him as I don't know
whe I'm getting this from.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Is that segment? Who would Stanley Tucci play?
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Do play? Take it from class Action? We're gonna switch
at Harris out for Stanley Tucci. That's fine. I like
that it is coming up, though, Celebration is coming up.
Are you excited?
Speaker 2 (02:12):
I am. I'm gonna be honest speaking to the likes
of our good friend Orton Diaz Skye Gero, who has
a panel, anyone who's going to celebration, there's watching us Friday,
three pm MIDI Chlorian panel with the great sky Gero
on back cast. I will be there. That's literally the
(02:33):
only panel that I definitely am going to be at because, uh,
you can't get what in the end. Nothing in the
in the panel reservations, absolutely nothing. I posted the the
gift the giff of how I'm gonna be like Bender
(02:54):
in the second episode, of Futurama where they go to
the theme park and the moon and they kick him out,
and I'm just gonna be like, fine, I'll make my
own celebration with Blackjack and focus. A matter of fact,
forget the celebration.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
That sounds about right. Even if you did get into
the panels that actually it sounds about right. I'm just
I'm sorry for you if I do feel better for
it about that. I mean, it's like I would be annoyed.
I'll be annoyed. I mean, I know you're I'm more
of a panel guy than you are. I like to
you like to party. I'm a panel guy. I like
to party. Also, it's not, you know, no shade there,
(03:31):
but like I would be disappointed if I was going all
the way to Japan and I didn't get into one
of the big panels, I'd be kind.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Of That's the thing, Like, I feel like you you
would be going, so it will more ninety five percent
for celebration, and to people that are going like solely
for celebration, I feel for those people, right, But at
the same time, I'm like, I'm gonna be in Japan
(03:57):
with a whole bunch of friends that I don't get
to see right, a lot some of the that I
haven't seen since the last celebration. Right, so it's going
to be like, Okay, i might not get into the
A Soca panel, but I'm going to be early to
go watch my friends panel two hours later. I'm definitely
if I got into the ah Sooca panel, I might
(04:19):
not been able to go to skoyjer Roh's panel because
it might have overrun. So like I get to, you know,
go do other things and go to these other like smaller,
cooler panels, like I'm going to go watch the Dad
Batch and the I'm gutted I'm not going to see
the Curus hour one on the Sunday. That's the one
where I'm like, sh.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
You're not going to do it. I didn't realize that that's.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Yeah, I'm not going on the Sunday. But it does
work out for me Friday. This works out perfectly that
I didn't get into Manlord and Grogu because now I
get to go to the Hideo Kajima and Nicholas Finding
referen exhibit.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
There you go. Now they are boy going to be
at nice so you will see them.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Okay, the fingers crossed I'm there at the same time
because I'm going literally as it opens up in the
morning on the opening day, So not only to meet
Hideo Kajima, right, Nicholas winding Refin as well, the director
of Drive.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
It's a great, too, great deal for you, my friend. Absolutely.
How many celebrations have you been to?
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Two two Anaheim and London.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
I have been to one in Orlando in the twenty seventeen,
which was like a lifetime ago. So I agree with you.
I probably would. Probably It's not that I really ninety
five percent celebration right at least be like fifty to
fifty and so like, I just feel, like I said,
I would love to hang out to these people too,
like people I haven't seen. I actually never been to
a celebration. When I went to celebration of twenty seventeen,
(05:50):
I didn't know anybody. I went down with a friend
who was like, he went with me because he wanted
to go to Orlando. He wasn't a Star Wars guy,
so he just went to or I know, and he
kind of poked his head in he look star Wars
enough that we can go. We'll go to the floor.
But he was out for other things. Basically whip by myself.
I didn't know anybody there at all, just pre like
(06:10):
the showdown days. I mean, so I saw the showdown
there that day Star Wars Championship or whatever. That's where
I saw the gret Ken knap Stock in person for
the first time. But they had no idea, no one
had any idea who I was there. Really, That's why
the panels on the floor where all I had, I
didn't really have any you know, I didn't have a
chance to like go hang out with anybody's I don't know.
I don't know that lifestyle. Really. I assume it's similar
(06:33):
to like what he would again talk about the smow down.
We just put on a live events. I assume it's
probably pretty similar to that, I would think generally speaking,
as far as like.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
I mean, I only got to go to the one
right fright on my event, and yeah, I got got
a little natty off the I would say, but this
is like three days straight of that right exactly. Yeah,
And and like there's molcohol involked because it didn't win drink.
We're not just like drinking in the evening after the
(07:03):
show with like drinking that day, fair enough.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Day that fair enough, fair enough, so I would I
would like but I would definitely probably go there. I'd
be gutted that I didn't get some of the big panels,
but I probably end up having a blood blast anyway.
But yeah, although at the same time, going to Japan
and spending the kind of money for that kind of celebration,
for that, I can see people who be disappointed about
to be honest, there.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
That's why I'm fortunate I booked when I did, because
I did it when it was cheap, right, right. I
booked it when it like a friend of mine has
spent twenty eight like twenty eight hundred pounds on the flights,
on the flights.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
Alone, right, Yeah. Mine, as soon as the Japan I
was like, yeah, it's not gonna have free this year.
I'll be back when it comes back to the States.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Mine were like nine hundred and fifty. And then I
booked the hotels like a year. And I think a
lot of people did this before day isn't before RePOP, which,
by the way, as soon as celebration is out of
Repop's hands, will be the best because this is just
the way they're running. It is ridiculous, like this lot,
(08:05):
this lottery system for panels. Right, let's say this as
an example. How is it that there are people that
get into zero panels even on the streaming stages, right,
but there are people that get into all three. Yeah,
this celebration stage. I think you should be limited to
one panel on the celebration stage and one panel on
(08:28):
either of the streaming stages. Let's take Mandalorian for example.
I'm not too fussed about being there in the room
for mandaloriin and Grogu, right, I would put that I
would go to one of the streaming stages. Same with
the Soka. I would be like, I'll take one of
the streaming stages, that's fine, and or I want to
(08:49):
be in the room. Yeah, yeah, especially because I know
a bunch of people are going to be doing the
Nachina five run again this year, of course, and I
hope they end up on I really hope they end
up on stage again because they did last time, and
like they end up on stage. But yeah, and like
the hotels are near near what's it Disney? They're near
(09:14):
the Disney Park, right, that's like thirty forty five minutes
away from the fucking convention center. I get it's because
it's Lucasfilm and it's Disney, that's probably the best place
that they could get hold of a hotel block right.
But at the same time, like I booked my hotel
a suit like the day that I knew because the
(09:35):
hotels normally pop up a year in advance. If you
go on any booking website, it's normally like a year
in a blances the maximum you're allowed to book for
a hotel. So as soon as that weekend came up,
I had it my calendar. I was like, cool, book
the hotel, done right, And it was like the think
mine was like one hundred and twenty pounds a day
for a s week.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
That's not bad at all, And.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Like you look at it now and it's like upwards
of a grand right and japan Ate cheap pan is
not cheap.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
No, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
I do feel for people that haven't got into these panels,
and the people that do feel like they're going to
be missing out. But let me tell you someone who
has been to a couple now, there's always stuff to do.
There's always cool people to talk to. Yeah, like go
and make friends, go to a random booth that's got
(10:28):
toys from the nineteen eighties that you've probably never seen before.
Like I now have a toy of Lobot with a
laptop because I bought two. I bought one for myself
and I bought one as a gift for Jonan scripture.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
And it's just some random guy had them on a
had them on a stool and I was walking around
drinking floor beers as you do with kenn and Joseph,
and Joseph pointed them out to me and I was like, huh, yeah,
I'm gonna get that, and I'm gonna get I'm gonna
get him one too, nice, very nice.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
Yeah, you know that's a that's that's the best part
about a celebration before I've heard. And that's the one
thing I did miss, like I said i'd miss like
I mean, even though I didn't have anybody to hang out,
and I didn't I wasn't forward enough to make friends
at that point. I was more I was just kind
of like an av the whole thing anyway, like I
just don't know your friend, Oh, you totally would have.
I just I didn't even realize it because I was
just kind of like I wasn't looking to make friends.
(11:22):
I just go so in awe of everything, and like
I spent like three days on the floor anyway, just
even the floor itself. I just walked the floor, always
finding new stuffs, always finding new things to go.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Oh. I would say the floor has gotten a lot
scarcer now. If you look at the kind of the
kind of stores and everything they're there this year, it's
it's a lot of like, why is dickies? Why is
what a Dickie's doing with a booth?
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Yeah, it's weird.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Why why have Rolex got a booth that star a celebration?
It's yeah, that's not cool.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
I prefer when it's much more like forget like the
artwork on my wall behind me there and they don't
see that's all celebrat because I got from celebration.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
Italy in London was tiny.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
Oh wow, that's sad. I means London I heard was
pretty small in general the place for brother.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
I've worked security at the EXL Center. They cornered off
about three quarters of it right for not for nothing.
It was just empty space. And I'm I'm in a
group chat with people that work that they'll also work
there and have worked there, right, And we were all
talking like why why is it like this?
Speaker 1 (12:31):
This is right, Okay, you have the ability, you have
the space to use it.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
Yeah, and this place looks huge, good Makahire Messie looks
absolutely massive.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
So hopefully they learned they learned maybe from potentially, but.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Don't try for funneling everyone through one door like you
did in London.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Jesus, that's that's that's the recipe for disaster.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
As I said, the sooner the really poper done with it,
which I think is this year this last one?
Speaker 1 (12:58):
So I hope so I heard the before too. I
don't know. I hear that was supposed to be the
last one last time, but I don't know. Maybe it's not.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
If they renewed the contract or rep gig may a
fourth fucking view with us all.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
You know what, we shouldn't talk too much more about celebration,
becau We're gonna actually have a full on celebration preview
episode coming up, so we should like save our bits
and pieces for that. Got a couple of cool things
coming up. We'll talk about our schedule for the next
couple of weeks. We are doing obviously today is are
finishing off the andro Or season one rewatch, the last
three episodes we have gotten to. Of course, news and
(13:32):
bits are always gonna happen. We decided kind of last minute,
last in like five minutes ago, what we were to do.
We had this planted place where we're going to do
obviously celebrations happening right after Celebration is and Or season two,
So that's gonna take up our next four episodes, or
the three blocks of the four blocks of three ben
Or season two. We were gonna go right in to
do a row one rewatch and the written to an
(13:53):
episode four we watched do kind of the trilogy. But
Matty had a great idea I think, and I kind
of like it. Some people your mouths may vary, but
you know, Diego Luna and Tony Gilroy Devaalt basically have
said that and Or season two is going to change
how we look at Rougue one potentially. So what if
(14:15):
we decided to watch Rogue one next week for next
week's show, We'll re watch for Rogue one, and then
we will at that point see it, review it, and
then go into and Or and see how it changes
our minds. And then after Andersson two, we're gonna rewatch
Rogue one again. With that in mind, and we won't
(14:35):
do obviously do as full of review the second time,
but it'll be more like a did anything did anything change?
Speaker 2 (14:42):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (14:42):
That kind of thing, what how are we looking at differently?
How do how does it hit us differently? Now again?
Before and after? I think it's kind of a cool
thing to do. And we still go on to episode
of four after that. We might as well complete a
trilogy at that point. But yeah, so I think that's
what we're gonna do. Or do we watch and of
Rogue one for next week's show? We have another week
in between after that, it's gonna be that will be
(15:04):
our celebration preview the tenth I believe it is, and
the seventeenth. There is a day before celebration begins, and
Maddie's gonna be in Japan, so I will probably run
a I'll probably run it. It might get a guest host,
or it might just do a kind of a quick
solo news bit week No major.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
I'm gonna be thirteen hours ahead of you, five hours
ahead of you now I'm gonna be another eight in Japan.
It's not gonna be gonna start over the Makana fans
out there, but it's not gonna be possible.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Look very possible, And that's fine. I'm decided I could
just a quick so solo news bit. I'll probably what
I'll I might end up doing is during the weekend,
I might just have a couple of sporadic, quick Holy
Snoke live solo shows just to kind of like do
celebration as it happens kind of thing. Maybe we'll have
to see what that goes. Depends on my schedule and
then a Madie comes back. Obviously we'll have a celebration
review and and and or seasons two pop.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
That's one.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
We're gonna be like that first week is that'll be
that first week's gonna be a tough one to do
as to do we don't have to do two episodes
that week. Potentially if we have to look into that,
maybe do two instead of trying to do it all
in one. We will do it and or reason two.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
One first to be there for like three hours, so we'll.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Have to say we'll have to hear that goes. We'll
figure it out. Figure it out though, for sure. Uh
So that's yeah, that is the next batch of stuff
we're gonna talk about our schedule update, not a bad
batch at all, not a bad batch at all. As
it is, we got some news and bits and pieces
to talk about today before we go and finish our
and or rewatch of season one. Like I said, uh,
most of them are comic book oriented. Actually was the
(16:38):
big news dropped?
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (16:39):
We did have the end or season two, the latest trailer,
the hopefully the final trailer. Now I think it's the
final trailer by now. I mean there'll be TV spots,
I'm sure, but I don't definitely cover them. Of course,
on this show, Maddie is one loath to watch any
trailers at all. He usually watched the first trailer. That's
usually about it for him.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
Yeah that that that's yeah, I'm not good. I'm sorry.
I'm not as good of a podcast host as pod is.
I like to make and his the reason I watched
Akolite completely blind, and I loved it more than most
people did. Right, So I'm trying to like maintain that,
(17:20):
Like I want to like keep some level because we
know how Cassian's story ends, we know where this is
a little common to so as much like I can
keep in the dark, I tried to.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
Yeah, yeah, no, I mean absolutely, I think that's uh,
I understand. I empathize with that. I struggled a little
bit with it, Like as as a star horse show,
I want to cover all the news, and it's tart
to cover the news and not cover such a big
piece of dudes. So I always watch it anyway. So
I'm gonna try to break down the trailer with Solo.
That'll be here and you can. He'll discuss a little bit.
(17:54):
He's not seeing it, so it's kind of like, okay,
and I'm doing a boy to hold anything spoilery, so
I'll do my best to kind of carefully talk about it.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
I do have one piece of news that shit popped
up on my screen in front of me, which we
were all safe to the end, but it's pretty fucking huge.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Oh okay, well I'm surprised. I'll have to see what
it is. Maybe you should text me that link so
I can look at it as imployed. But yeah, but
I we'll go into the first bits of news first. Yeah,
I'll get the ones out of the way. Uh, the
one I want to talk about first, talk about the
comicook news. A couple of cool compic news June twenty
twenty five was announced specifically, I wanted to mention, uh,
doctor Afra chaos agent that is a new Doctor Affred book.
(18:35):
I'm actually surprised, not surprised, happy that this is gonna happen.
Doctor Affre has probably been one of the greatest UH
comic book characters, specific characters that we've seen in UH
in the especially the Disney era. She's she's kind of
quite a solo star. I mean, I think a lot
of people would love to see a Doctor Affra appearance
in animation or in live action. Oh god, yes, a
(18:58):
darker kind of a darker Indiana Jones, like a more
more chaotic, neutral Indiana Jones. She's worked for Darth Vader.
She's worked on the side of the rebellion. Sometimes it
depends on what's going on.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
She worked Vader's tried to kill her.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
You know, she's got some assassin and detroids she worked with.
It's it's a lot of cool stuff. But either way,
I think that it's just good news that we're gonna
get more from her post return of the Jedi era
at this point.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
UH.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
And that's gonna be a lot of fun because I
know a lot of people have loved that character and
the specifically centering a new Republic era. She's gonna team
up we lose Skywalker to hunt down a rare artifact.
And there's also something going on with her electro tattoos
and they're not working, so I don't know, it's gonna
be kind of cool to think to see what's gonna
happen with that. And I'm really glad we're moving into
this post retro of the Jedi era because the comp
(19:46):
book we haven't explored anything like literature wise, I mean
a little bit here and there. Obviously we had a
few compooks here really, you know, Kyle Ren had a
comic book a little bit brief one. We had the
Pokegammon and one at one point. But I feel like
this has been an underutilzed section of the Galaxy of
the timeline. I know, yeah, obviously we have the Mandalorian
TV show and get that, but this is like more specifically,
(20:08):
we don't have a lot from like the Rebellion stuff.
We're reading Luke Skawaker's stories post from the Jedi, and that's.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
That's about front too as well, because that's when you
see like operations in there.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
But getting hopefully her to crossover with Luke and everything
else should be good lot col get and to see
what some of our bigger, well known characters are doing
during this timeframe, which is cool. I do you want
to read? One quote from the writer to your name
was Cherish chen and our Gabriel Guzman said, in my
humble opinion, there isn't a more fun character to be
(20:40):
writing in the Star Wars Galaxy than the one and
only Doctor Afra. Cooking up new adventures for her in
this new era, throwing her into increasingly tricky moral quandaries
and testing her result along time to familiar faces has
truly been like playing in the ultimate sandbox. Our favorite
chaos agent is back and I cannot wait to share
what we've been working on and for all of you
to see gabriel most incredibly dynamic art. Mark Panica Senior
(21:03):
editor Marvel also went on to say afrofans are gonna
love this unexpected new status quo, one that even our
brilliant doctor will struggles to navigate. Her patients will be tested,
her wits will be challenged and say it is and
so her ego will get bruised. Who could ask some
Marthur Galaxy's greatest grifter, Cherish will drop clues see if
you can solve the mystery.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
So that sounds like fun.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
That just sounds like a kind of thing. I like
a fun adventure might have some good connectivity but not
necessarily be like a Maze storyline. It's that kind of
the best of both worlds const situation.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
I think as she's going from one Skywalker, from working
one Skywalking to another.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
There you go, there you go. Nice. All right, I'm
gonna Star Wars stuff coming up June twenty twenty five
is kind of a big Star Wars comic book stories
coming on. We got hyperspased stories Codebreaker number two, a
Podammer and in BB eight discovering a First Order base
where the enemy keeps their fabled code breaker uses crack
secret resistance messages. So you got Podammon and BBA story
(22:04):
First Order. Give it to me. I love it. Mm hmm.
Jedi Night's number four fature from the Han Solo and
Chewbacca run has stolen thousands of credits from Jab of
the Hut, now Ora sing Zam Wessel and Baine Mallara,
and the entire galaxies after her includes the Jedi Knights,
quite On Gin and shak d also guest stars Django Fette.
This is the whole plethora of Stoff going on character. Yeah,
(22:27):
it's a lot of fun. I like the jedii's run.
I think it's got a lot of potential to just
be that kind of mythology series where we can see
anybody at any time.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
And that's so many cameos, you would think that Marvel
would start putting out chairs with the danger of them
on the back.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
I like what you did there. I will confirm by
the way Maddie Gunner playing with Besto in Yes, Yes.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
Yes, I am. I am confirmed exclusive by Oldin Diaz.
I am playing.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
He didn't even tell me, actually you did. I just
had to keep my eyes. You had a red dart.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Yeah, there's a reason why my camera is where it is.
It's because Marvel has a red dot just above where
you can see at all times. A right.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Continuing on, I got the Bad Badge Ghost Agents number four.
I've only got to read their first issue. Don't put
the second shoes out yet. The first issue was fun though.
It seems like a great maybe not essential, but fun
Bad Badge tale back when the boys were together pre
Omega or sings involved, and I guess the Sawage venturess
all that the first issue is out, Yes, the first issues.
(23:33):
I did read that. I like that. Yes, I can't
wait for that to come about again, but it's gonna go.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
Will can read the trade.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
There you go, good call. Uh And finally the big
Star Wars number two, not fin not finally, but Star
Wars number two comes out again. Finally get into that
post return of the Jedi era. Uh Luke Skywalker there
in that one as well. Let's see what else you got.
The Ryder Skycker adaptation comes out. I'm not on the
adaptations too much. I feel like the adaptations, I'll say
(24:03):
it out there. I try to be negative, but I
found like the TV adaptations where Marvel tends to kind
of go on the cheap, like the artwork is it
just hasn't been that very good. On the adaptations, they
kind of very like hand pencil scratch stuff that like
doesn't look anything like the characters really, and.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
And you would think, like, I know it's an adaptation,
but you look at like the novelizations. The novelizations at
least give us they give us the same story that
we've seen on the screen, but they also added like
little bits to it. Yeah, I would love. I would
probably be more into the adaptations if they did stuff
like that.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
And I will say I haven't really read them, so
I can't comment too much. But I have some like
Previe Page. That's why I can comment on the art.
I've seen it. I've never been too stoked to pick
it up, so I mean eventually probably will read it
when it comes like on to like Unlimited or something.
I might check it out at some point, so I
have the Marvel lit Limited and that that at least
makes it easier. But we'll see. Of course, Legacy A
Vader number five comes out there and the title is
(24:59):
Target Boo Kylo Ren in the first order begin the
assault on Boo and what lesson is Kylo learned there
from Darth Vader's past. This series, to me is exciting.
I love the does the idea of this series getting
that have Kyler Wren revisit like Darth Barry's greatest hits
as it were, like not greatest greatest Missus too. I
(25:19):
guess you you could say, we'll get to learn has
him learn all that connectivity that we already know. I
think it's kind of a cool way to bring about
some exposition in like character building for Kylo, while still
getting some exciting leaders.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
Kyler Wren love going on. I mean, I found out
my friend's guys from the band that she sings for,
the band Cartographer she named her cat actually has a
female cat that she named Kyla off the Kylo Wren
And I said, our message literally today because I didn't
know a cat's name is my cat. Kyler was like,
did you name your cat off to Kyla Wren and
(25:55):
she said yes. So there is more love for the
sequel characters out there than people tend to let people
would like to allow on.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
I get that told me of that. Finally, the biggest
news I have to say is the High Republic is
ending in June, and that includes the COMPIC run. That
includes the COMPUK run. We got a couple of different
things coming on. How we have Higher Public. Let's see
Higher Republic Fear of the Jedi Number five talks about
the end of the war coming, a battle for area
(26:24):
to dad Do and the fate of Republic hanging in
the balance. Kiev Trenis is involved. And then finally the
Higher Public Adventures. Number twenty is an epic conclusion how
the battle is over. What's next for the young heroes,
and the climactic battle between the Jedi and the Nighill
that has been years in the making. It's all coming
to the head. We got the book, We got the books.
(26:45):
It's pretty pretty out there. But I'm excited about the
end of the Republic. I am now into Eye of Darkness.
I have just really begun phase three, so I'm hoping
to be mostly caught off by a tyrant jew and
rolls a. I don't know the where I read. I
read quickly, but I read so much that I have
to go back and forth, so it sometimes slows me down.
(27:07):
But I'm hoping that I can get at least pretty
close by time June rolls around, so that either June
or thereafter I'll be able to quickly go for it.
So I'm excited. I'm excited about it for sure. Are
you excited about the end of the High Republic?
Speaker 2 (27:19):
No? I want me. I want more, damn No, until
until I get my Geoid Rock Opera. I am not
going to be happy that this is ending. When I
get the Geoid Rock Opera, then I can be like, okay, cool,
we can we can close the door on the High Republic.
I'm good.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
Well, let's be let's be honest. We have the this
is the end of the High Republic multimedia initiative. That's mean,
it's the end of the characters and the.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
Multi media really before we're getting his books and comics.
It's not really multi media until I get my rock opera,
which me and Molly Damon have idea is four luke'sfilm
pick up the point can make this happen.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
What I'm saying is, I think it's more the end
of the the end of this particular story, the whole
Jedi night Hill. I think we could get a geod
rock opera. I think we could do a lot of things.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
Like could Lucasfilm calls me?
Speaker 1 (28:22):
Uh, yeah, they should.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
They should definitely call it cross Mallick is lyoks.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
I'm over that, you know, I'm all over that. All right,
Let's move on then.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
To real quick before we go on to that. Okay, ye,
where do you source your news from?
Speaker 1 (28:38):
I Star Wars sorts my news from Star Wars News
and nets a great place that has all sorts of news.
They are usually good at cutting away the chaff and
making the legacy. Alright, letting you know it's true, it's rumor.
What's you know, all that kind of good stuff.
Speaker 2 (28:55):
Speaking of bus ruma, I'm going to go into what's
just hit the discord in front of me. Okay, a
reddit court says, you will, it's a could be a rumor.
But the screenshot I've just seen from a reddit post
we are getting mouse droids in shop Disney m hm
(29:18):
oh from a screenshot that apparently was very quickly deleted,
so apparently it was put on the website and then
immediately taken down. Really yeah, I'm buying every one of
my motherfuckers. I am bugging every moustroid and I am
(29:43):
putting a rumber if they don't move, I am putting
a rumba inside every single one of them.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Fair Enough, I get it. I get that is good dudes,
I like that. I like that for sure.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
Could you not want a mouse Droyd?
Speaker 1 (29:59):
Who wouldn want a mouse droid? Who wouldn't want a mouse? Rde?
I totally would want a mouse droid. I'm doing to
how much money?
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Take it around and instead of getting Piste off of
the cat, you can kick the mouse. Droyd.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
You're You're bad. Just you're bad. You're very bad. Uh,
you're evil? In fact, would you kick Beat two Emo?
Speaker 2 (30:20):
No, but I kicked them. Everyone else seems to kick
the mouse droids.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
That's fair, that's fair.
Speaker 2 (30:26):
Didn't kick the Mega kicks the mouse Droyd. That's true.
That's true. Doesn't kick them out like that?
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Yells at it though true, Back only screams at it.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
So okay, maybe instead of yelling at the cat, you
yell at the mouse, Droyd. Okay, I thought. I'm not
saying that Pod kicks his cat. By the way, that's
not what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Let's not get that out there.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
That is not true. I'm just saying.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
You are insane. All right. Let's move on there to
a couple other pieces of news. One just dry desdate
and having my mixed by looking at Star Wars news Net.
As you mentioned that there's a new mixed reality pod
racing game to be revealed at Star Wars celebration. It's
called Beyond Victory, a mixed reality. It's going to be
an il M exclusively for the Metal Quest three and three. Yes,
(31:17):
virtual reality. It's gonna follow the Phantom Menace and a
brand new character of Allism Solo ball list an eclectrifying
story in a variety of unique modes the player to enjoy.
Set around the time of Solo, a Star Wars story.
So this is older, grizzled Bulba. I guess at this
point his retirement tool.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
It's also gonna he's not his Michael Schumacher.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
It looks like there's also going to be a comic
book also, at least at the celebration. It's an exclusive
Marvel comic sept before the events of the game, is
a kind of a precursor. So it's kind of cool.
Do you have any interest in the VR games? And
some people really like them.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
Something I don't like three D movies. I don't like
v R games. It's like I know that their whole
thing is like immersion, but for some reason, just like
having that headset on still makes me feel like kind
of a goof right. I get that, Like I've done them,
(32:22):
and I've done the ones where like you walk across
the beam over the building, and I'm just like, I
know this isn't real. I don't know. I don't know.
It's just like they've never quite clicked with me. I
am interested in the real time strategy game that they're
introducing at celebration because I'm a huge Command and Conquer
fet That is actually the game that I play on
(32:45):
long haul flights as I'll have a game with Command
and Conquer up, which is where you build the buildings,
you deploy the troop units, build the tanks and everything,
and try to beat the other army, right right, right,
So they have that have one of those set in
Star Wars would be cool.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
Yeah, yeah, we'll be kind of cool. I only used
VR water twice and I liked the idea of it.
I just don't have didn't he Yeah, I think so. Yeah, yeah,
there's some people who really do love it. So good
for them though, and this is good for them as well.
So hey, what can you say?
Speaker 2 (33:18):
Sit down with the controller and your hand. It's you.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
Sounded like the old man. Now you're talking to grizzle,
old man.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Getting nice and grays in this bed the other day.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
So you're officially a graybeard. Okay, fair enough, all right.
I've got a little bit of news there. We got
specifically from Instagram.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
The actor edma ammon as Fondi, who obviously better known
as Ezra Bridger. The live actions of Bridger quietly reveals
that ah Soca season two has officially entered into production.
The actor reposted a now expired story on his personal
Instagram account, where he could be seen opening a celebratory
bottle of champagne. The caption reads, congrats on launching your
(34:02):
podcast and kicking off of Soca season two. So there
we go.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Oh is that from Vanessa Marshall.
Speaker 1 (34:10):
I I'm assuming that's what it is potentially, Yeah, because
I didn't get to see it. I'm reading what other
people have reported on.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
It at this point, my good close personal friend.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
As much I just want to go back and read
that and watch that and and take that podcast. That'd
be kind of cool to hear that I'm waxing about
rebels because you know, that is a phenomenal show man.
It's a such a fun, fun piece of Star Wars content.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
She talks about it a lot on her streams.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Yeah, that's I mean, why wouldn't.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
It's it's cool to see her like actually doing Yes.
I think more then needs there needs to be like
actual like official Star Wars after shows. I feel because
when I back when I used to watch The Walking Dead,
I love the Talking Dead.
Speaker 1 (34:57):
Yeah, yeah, I get that. I tod that that was
after shows became kind of a big quick thing and
they kind of quickly also left just as quickly. I
don't know if the talent just didn't want to do it,
but like it just seemed like it was a great
resource for fans, great resource to expand out, like the
love for it. I mean, I don't know. I think
I think it's a win. It's absolutely win having those things.
(35:18):
But what do I know. I mean, I'm sitting here
on YouTube, you know, getting you know, fifty views, So
what do I know?
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (35:28):
I might check it out some points, you know, if
I can get a room of my podcast listening schedule,
you know, and I'm not watching something for the podcast
or recording my own podcast or producing a podcast, and
you know, we're having a wife and kids and a
real family and around other job, full time.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
Kid, you know, and being a man of a thousand streams.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
That's right, that's right. Absolutely. Ah But yeah, all right,
last bit dings. We'll talk about that. I'm going to
talk about it, Managine, I'm basically just sit there listen
at this point. Is the and or season two the
final trailer, hopefully final trailer, which I do, don't I mean,
I don't disagree with you about the trailer idea. I
think a teaser a trailer, and that should be good.
(36:09):
I don't necessarily mind one final trailer as long as
it's not like too much. I don't like they have
basically prepped out on like we're leaving too much, revealing
too much with some of these third trailers not gonna line.
I get that. I don't watch TV spots anymore. I've
gotten gone to that side for you. I just like
it's not worth it any way, generally speaking for one
(36:29):
or two little bits of things.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
So I don't know, because I remember like and Or
season one they put out a lot of TV spots
and the kind of love for Me and like Dead
Ever Born Again, which by the way, I love, that's
like my favorite show in TV right now. A lot
of these TV spots they're putting up, I'm like, just stop, stop,
like no more, Like I don't want to. I don't
(36:51):
want to see this shot of have you are you
up to date with it? Yes, spoiler that I don't
want to. I don't want a TV spot of Kingpin
beating the ship out of the guy that Vanessa.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
Slept with, right, Yeah, absolutely, I get that. Totally get that,
and I didn't see that by the way I.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
Saw it, and I was just like, great, now I
know that Kingpin's gonna go back to his own life. Cool,
thanks for fucking ruining that for me.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
That's fair. That's fair, and I wouldn't do Yeah, absolutely,
So hopefully that doesn't happen here. I don't think anything
happened in this TIL trailer that is of that level.
Just so you know, I don't think anything like that.
I'll talk about real quick, basically, don't.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
Cut it down to the point where you're barely talking
about it, just like if there's anything like that could big.
Speaker 1 (37:40):
Yeah, I think that there was nothing revealed. I don't
think anything really revealed that we there's only one minor
tub that might it's something id we kind of predicted
that might not even happen. Still, it's kind of like
a losive possibility. So but I'll get into it. Let's
just get into it real quick. Basically always up similarly
to the other trailers, that's Cassie walking down the hallway
and everything that's got his was on his look. He
starts having a little conversation about his like what he
(38:03):
did he I came with you to be a part
of something. He's a little frustrated, right, That's what it
feels like. We have to see him, of course in
his Imperial Test pilot uniform thing, and he had going
on talking about saying the Empire can't when we heard
that in the previous trailer. We got to see saw
a little bit more and definitely had a shot of him.
(38:23):
It almost looked like the opposite of the Rougue one
shot where you seeing him. He saw have like from
the hole in the wall. He looked like it was
the other way around. In the road. He was like
seeing him from the back. You see a starter for
out back there. So I don't know if it's on Jetta,
if it's on a different planet. It's hard to tell.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
But kind of look, we're getting to bath and Shirt,
if we're going to if we're going to Jedi, we're
getting bathe and share it.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
I think we do got to go to Jedda eventually.
That makes sense, like for the final arc that that's
where he would be. If that's what you know, I
mean that he gets there. That's where he ends up
for Roade one, and we are supposed to go right
into rogue one. So uh, let's see what else we
got here. So we had a lot of raw. He
said about revolution, he's a quote from him with revolution
is not for the same and that's you're right here
(39:04):
and you're ready to fight, which is that part of
the line we had heard from the previous It seems
like we're gonna fight. I will see the moment where
Saw and mon Mathma, this group have their kind of
start to divide. I gotta feel like they're gonna be
I think there are Rebellion's gonna kind of like explode
and then come back together. Mon Matha's size that come
(39:24):
back together. That's my thought process. We also see Santa
and some other rebels there, and Partisans are on the
same planet as Sensus. This is the thing that that
might be spoilery. It almost looked to me like Sensam
might be with the Partisans at some point. I could
see that.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
That leads into my theory or she killed that wife
and kid.
Speaker 1 (39:46):
I don't disagree with this play.
Speaker 2 (39:48):
I'm all in.
Speaker 1 (39:49):
I think it is. I mean, it's not for sure,
but does make sense. Doesn't make sense to me. Losing
has some cool moments, some cool one bit of dialog,
I really like from the trailer or uh, it's a
different kind of mission. He looks like he's stopping to
cast in and Casson asks him what if it goes
up with what if it goes up in flames? He
has a he has a great response. It just says
(40:11):
that it will burn rightly.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
I'm like, yeah, Cassian star and the Goldman mascout.
Speaker 1 (40:18):
That's my exactly is where I was going to go,
is that he's.
Speaker 2 (40:21):
I think that's gonna be where we're where we differ
watching Rogue one, because we're going to be like Cassian,
you piece of ship.
Speaker 1 (40:29):
Possibly, I think it's I think it's definitely on Luthen's order.
I think Luthen's the one. I think Luthan starts to
go mask. I think Luthen finds out it's gonna happen. Actually,
I think I don't know. I think I don't know
that he starts. This is my my prediction from him.
Lutheran or Cassian find out that it's going to happen.
Luthen or Cassian could have prevented it, and Luthen does
(40:54):
not prevent it because, like what he said in our
recent or one rewatch, he said, these things need to happen.
We need to have them defeat us. They need to
have the atrocities happen so that people we'll wake up.
So in his mind, let them get massacred because that
will wake up some people. Mhmm. And so I think
I think that's what's gonna happen. I think I don't
(41:15):
think cass is gonna necessarily be the one to start it,
but Luther and asked will have been able to prevent it,
and then they won't, and that's prevent and that's where
that's the Luthen Mathma split and the Cassie then bis.
Speaker 2 (41:28):
Something about them talking about it burning means like they
have to start the fly. They're gonna be the ones
that and maybe maybe Cassie and conquer through with it.
So Luthen gets involved, right, and Luthan's like, fine, if
you want to push the out of there, I'll fucking
do it myself.
Speaker 1 (41:42):
Maybe maybe it could be that.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
And then Luthen ends up dead in a ditch.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
Oh, Lutheran is definitely dead. That's no doubt he's gonna be.
Speaker 2 (41:51):
He's gonna die, and it's gonna be the most unsatisfying
death ever because he wants he wants to go out
and go in and blaze the glory, but he's just gonna
end up like Dan the Ditch and no one remembers
his name. No one's gonna give it a ship. And
that's why no one will remember you and a.
Speaker 1 (42:12):
Absolutely absolutely, and that's gonna be that, that's gonna be
the whole thing. We're gonna actually talk about this later on,
so or talk about this part of it. We'll bring
back up later on because we have a certain speech
to talk about later on. In this episode. For sure, Uh,
Luther look kind of tired at this point. He's got
a little bit more grown out, which is fine. We
see more, we actually a little bit more of the
(42:33):
farming community, the Brasso and everybody's on see that they're
Brasso bicks, will they're all there on this little farming community.
Looks like they're having apparently, yeah, exactly, Yeah, it looks
pretty good. It looks like they're having a nice time.
And then of course an Imperial shuttle arrives and so yeah,
I can throw it if anything happens to Brasso, I
(42:56):
swear to God, I'm gonna kick tone your Glory's ass.
Speaker 2 (42:59):
I will join here.
Speaker 1 (43:02):
Brass don't needs to live. Brasson't needs to be an
endoor like he needs to be exactly exactly what if.
Speaker 2 (43:09):
It turns out that the own man that was that
the Battle of Bendel isn't Captain Rex, it's Brassley.
Speaker 1 (43:17):
I didn't say that because the beard he have, actually
Brasso has and it so far and it's like that
could actually be Brasco said, is brass Absolutely, that's right.
You couldn't be a mosque. I could see it happening, right, No,
of course not. That's the other bad news about the trailer.
There was no os sighting. Unfortunately. I know he already I.
Speaker 2 (43:40):
Think we said hot break all over again.
Speaker 1 (43:44):
He already said he wasn't in it. But you know,
we still hold onto the hope, because that's because rebellions
are built on hope. We get to see u KRANI
could get a little bit more. He does have a
lion saying resistance is absurd as he's confident in the
dust star. One cool bit of news or one cool
bit of things that I'm looking forward to now when
(44:05):
I'm seeing this is Clia is in there and she
actually has a shot of her with a tear coming down,
and like it's very strong seeing that, because she has
been the one who's been pretty much the most non
emotional person in the entire show, which was to bring
(44:27):
up leya right. Absolutely, she's been very chill, like that chill,
not even chill because she's been got a cruel about it.
But it's like she's very hard, doesn't let emotions run her.
She's logic, rational and all that kind of stuff. Mod Mathmael.
We get a lot of mod mothmat this trailer. There's
a shot of her in the Senate and I swear
Genemie will Riley, I want to give her the Emmy
just for that shot. She looked like she was in
(44:48):
like almost tears, but like really horrified. I think I
think it could be I think it could be completely.
There's one point she does have a line later on
obviously she they had the line again that they had
about you know, we have to stand together or be crushed.
That's in there again. I don't know. I think she's
talking too. She's talked to Luthen there possibly, I don't know.
(45:10):
Also though later on there is a scene of her
the Senate and she's actually saying a line the monster
will come for us all. So that seems like that's
the speech we're gonna get. That seems like, I don't know,
I don't know those shots were from the same moment
or like she learned who did this?
Speaker 2 (45:27):
UVC who she's talking to?
Speaker 1 (45:30):
You see it on her, it's on her. Oh, there
is a shot of her looking looking forward and like
whoever's in the center, they're like really far away those
you can't really pick it out. I thought I thought
it was Massa Mada, I think, but I'm not sure. Okay,
could beig, could be, could be. But it looks like
the Gorman Musker is going to be kicking as at
this point that's gonna be again. We already knew that
(45:52):
was gonna happen, so obviously just gonna have a big
play in it. Uh. We do get to see ma
more about the more with the wedding, the most likely wedding,
I should say, because Tony wanted to say that he
wasn't confirming it was happening season two, but it's pretty
obvious with that end at this point. Okay, a little
bit of serial car and has one line and dialogue
looks like he's back at his old Deata end job,
just saying there's a future here for those who dare. Okay,
(46:16):
I got quick shots. And finally there is the famous
one that's kind of made it even you heard about,
and that's a detrim hero. Yeah. How about this loosening
her neck her collar. Some people thought that she looked
like she's potentially being force choked. I didn't see that.
I mean when you pointed out, I just kind of, well,
(46:37):
Star Wars friends will look at that and see she's
getting force show. I didn't, honestly, And when you point
it out and go, oh yeah, I mean, I could
definitely see how you would think that. But I guess
I'm just so of the mindset that there's no way
we're getting Vader in the show like this. Tony Gilroy
is very much trying to keep this away from the
original trilogy, connecting to it only in ways that it
made sense the storyline. So I don't think Vader's appearing.
(46:58):
I don't think Palpatine is really going to peer killer killer,
No way, no way, no chance in hell no no.
Speaker 2 (47:08):
Well, jeorgeh still draws his breath exactly.
Speaker 1 (47:11):
But I think it was more like, I honestly looked
at it. I thought it was more of a panic
attack than I thought. She kind of got is getting
the point where she's just know what's going on.
Speaker 2 (47:18):
From what I saw, it looks like because she's not
looking like directly if whenever you see someone get forced,
they're like looking directly and they're like, it looks like
she's like she's getting to and you know it's in
the first season. She's taken a lot of pills.
Speaker 1 (47:33):
Yeah, I think you're gonna learn more about that at
this point. I think she's just lay over anxious. I
think somebody's got to the point. It might be the
point where she I don't want to say it's a
I can't. I'm not gonna say it's a redemption because
you're not gonna be redeemed or whatever.
Speaker 2 (47:45):
But I think she might.
Speaker 1 (47:46):
It might go to the gard Master, might be too
much for her kind of thing. Something might go too far,
and she's kind of like, maybe I'm in over my
head at this point, I don't know what's going on.
Speaker 2 (47:53):
Well, as we saw in the awkward back to discuss,
she shipped the bed on Ferris.
Speaker 1 (47:58):
Yeah, that's a good point. Good point.
Speaker 2 (48:01):
She was she was trusted with this responsibility, and she
shot in the bed and now she's going going back
to the ISP and explain it.
Speaker 1 (48:08):
Absolutely absolutely, Uh, that's pretty much. There's a bunch of
quick shots at the end. Some of the rebellion characters
are there, and you know, get more with casting than
the the tie fighter that he's got East stealing, which
has been like basically that's been the biggest drop that's
been in all of the media bits. He's casting that
tie fighter. So that's about. That's about it. So it
(48:29):
was good trailer sole trailer music was good, wasn't It
wasn't the rock and roll music that was the more classic,
more classic Star Wars music like your minds my very
on that I note. But yeah, So that's that's how
we're gonna go with there.
Speaker 2 (48:45):
As we said, I'm fine with good music. Just pick
a good song.
Speaker 1 (48:48):
It's fair, it's fair. All right. Let's move on now
to our main topic today. We're talking about of course
the Soka and Or season one, episode ten, eleven and twelve.
Let's get into it. We go We always do this
on this channel by going through by category. We name
a lot of categories and then we go through that way.
(49:09):
Then we kind of catch up afterwards if we missed
anything that didn't really fit into a category, if I
have a better way to organize it. Our first category
usually is Hondo Watch. We have temporarily suspended that until
in our season two is over. We have replaced Hondo
Watch temporarily, mind you, temporarily. He's still in our he's
still in our logo, he's still our patron saint. But
(49:30):
we have a worthy substitution that is Mosque Watch. Started
in Linus Mosque. Can you imagine we got a Honda
and Linus Moss story it together hotly shit, you know,
because at the end of the season it's a Hondo story.
Speaker 2 (49:45):
It's like a Hondo like book or comic. And like
Mosque has been like he is like slightly higher in
rank and he has to like he's the cop that
tries to bring.
Speaker 1 (49:59):
Down don't see, I got better. I got it better
for you. This is better because at the end of
and Or he is down the dirt you we leave
him on Ferrex after the riot, he is like drunk,
he's drunks of skan. I think he has hit rock
bottom and he joined Hondo's crew. Oh, like you have
mastering for trying to do for Honda when for Cyril.
Speaker 2 (50:26):
That that's the story, right, that's that's that's the story.
And then he like he has his own little redemption
arc where he's like being a pirate's wrong. I'm going
back to Molana in the Milana sector and I'm gonna
be a cool boy.
Speaker 1 (50:41):
This is the pirate's life for me. Yeah, I can
see that after absolute the end of it, like.
Speaker 3 (50:46):
Hondo drops him off at the end, and then then
we then we get the end of what was it
fast forward where the Rock's like, I'll give you twenty
four hour hit start right right.
Speaker 1 (50:58):
Oh my god, that's a perfect Please make that happen,
Please make that happen. Anyway, Mosque watched twenty twenty two
for this one, and successful. He made the periods of
this arc. He was back in this arc. Thank god,
he had his moments for Thank Mosque, I'm gonna don't
talk about too much of him because actually he made
(51:19):
a moment of mine.
Speaker 2 (51:20):
So it's quickly.
Speaker 1 (51:26):
There I go.
Speaker 2 (51:26):
We do you have to gay over that one?
Speaker 1 (51:29):
So let's go now to our next category. Crew Member
of the Week, Favorite Character of the week basically just
well of the week, but I should prefaces by saying
we are doing this in three episodes arc, so we're
doing this over the arc instead of the episode because
that's just how Andrew is running. That's how we're gonna
do it for season two. That's the only way we
can do it for season two because we can't do
categories for each episode or every Holy Snokes would be
(51:51):
three hours long. So let's go into the first this
last arc, our favorite characters of the arc. Maddie, I'll
let you go first.
Speaker 2 (52:00):
I'm giving it to Bicks this week.
Speaker 1 (52:03):
Oh wow, now I expected but okay, let me hear this.
Speaker 2 (52:09):
She went through unspeakable torture of being forced to listen
to Creed over and over and over, yet she did
not give Cassian up.
Speaker 1 (52:23):
I'm slapping at the Creed but.
Speaker 2 (52:25):
Stuff, that's gotta be what it was not going on
on those headpoints, But you know what I mean, she
went through like this unspeakable torture she did. Like she's
not with Cassion or anything. She just obviously there's a
romantic relationship there, but she could have easily have just said, yeah,
he's gone, like I don't know where he is, but
(52:50):
this is where I think he might be like she
could have given him up, but she didn't, and she
went through just unspeakable to it. And I don't think
we rightfully give Brasso the credit he deserves for being
the hormone do that we all want. But I don't
think Bix gets the same. Brasso didn't have to go
through what Bis went through, and she did not give
(53:13):
Cassie it up. So and just the performance that Adriana puts.
Speaker 1 (53:19):
In is phenomenal, phenomenal, phenomenal. And I'll say also, I
want to give a shout out to the makeup crew.
I think that that it takes a lot to make
her look haggard. She is a beautiful, beautiful woman.
Speaker 2 (53:34):
Even when she looks haggard, she still looks beautiful.
Speaker 1 (53:36):
I know, I'm saying they did a good job, like
trying to make her look haggard and everything else good, But.
Speaker 4 (53:41):
If anything, they did a terrible job because they're supposed
to make her look like shit, like she's been just
been through seven circles of hell, but she you still
end up looking at like, Damn's beautiful.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
I mean, well, that's just her shining through. I mean
it's like that's an unenviable task, right, there, but no, no,
you know you're not wrong. It's such as she had
gave a great performance for no performance. I believed her
one hundred percent in the entire time. Wonderful performance. It
just I just it's hard to say anything about you
can't saything bad about it. It's just just wondering. It's
(54:13):
a beautiful, beautifully tragic performance and powerful, but it does
showcase her power of character. She does not give anybody up.
She does not She just stands the ground as best
she can, even when she's terrified. And the part it
was a heartbreaking moment when the cash comes in, she's
trying to get her to go, and she's like, no,
they're gonna be angry. I was like, oh man, she's
(54:33):
broke broken.
Speaker 2 (54:36):
I have a funny feeling. I know who yours is
going to be, so I just want to give my
my quick little go out side. I detote Ken o'loy
because that goes without saying. The one that gave me
a really great reaction in this one with Eadie Kahn,
Oh nice, nice, Just her little appearance of the door
(54:59):
open up and just going phone for you and then
just standing there arms crossed in a moment we're gonna
be talking about and she's just standing there in the back.
I was just like, I fucking hate this one. So
(55:21):
fucking good.
Speaker 1 (55:22):
Yea he she is, Oh, she is very good. She
is very good. Funny thing. I actually wasn't gonna pick
Chino either, although I should say that Keno was also phenomenal.
Will we'll definitely say that Keino.
Speaker 2 (55:35):
Well, so you didn't I thought you were gonna pick Keino.
Speaker 1 (55:38):
No, I did not. I thought you were.
Speaker 2 (55:39):
Hey, yeah, they's talk about Quino.
Speaker 1 (55:43):
Go ahead, I let you go out and let you go.
Speaker 2 (55:46):
There is no more heartbreaking of a line in all
of Star Wars than three words I can't swim. This
is a guy who're like, We've just spent the last
two three weeks like dude, you're a dick. Fuck you man,
(56:09):
to the point where I'm even like, why Andy Serkis,
why did you take this role? Now? I know why
Andy Serkis took this role because of the speech that
he gives in in the sector where they actually managed
to break out and they hold it literally two not
even guards people hostage, and you have Cassie in there,
(56:33):
who's essentially doing what Luthen and everyone is doing for him.
He's pushing Keino to be the.
Speaker 1 (56:39):
Leader at that point, right, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (56:43):
And then Keina just gives that speech and you're like,
fuck us, so good. Then it gets to the point
where you think they're goulda break out and the guy
can't slip. I posted a the week this episode came out.
I put that scene to Celine Dion's My heart will
(57:05):
go on, Oh my god, ten times more tragic.
Speaker 1 (57:14):
Yeah, I can't imagine. I don't want to think about that.
They're gonna say, I, oh god, Keno.
Speaker 2 (57:22):
Light wouldn't have been able to get off the Titanic pod.
Speaker 1 (57:26):
Make room of the door for Kino, take the door.
Speaker 2 (57:31):
Brandon has already debunked that to me once because I
know he watched this, so I don't didn't do it twice.
Speaker 1 (57:38):
That's fair, that's fair. I just bust the balls. No,
you're absolutely right. He he goes to the whole. He
is phenomenal that comes to any search and performance. He
showcases that guy who comes off as an asshole in
the beginning comes off as real, real prick. But at
the same time, you as this showed, or as his
arc develops, you see that it's more about this is
(58:00):
a man who just doesn't have a life. This is
his life, and this is the only thing he can control.
The only thing he can control in his life is
this floor and his men. So he tastes great pride
in that he wants to make sure that that is
done right, and he almost wants to protect them and
protect him and protect them like as far as like,
this is what's got to be done. We can't change anything.
(58:21):
Let's make us the best thing we can do. But
as things start to unfold and unravel, he starts having
shaken faith and you see it in his eyes, and
he almost loses it and tries to overcompensate by like
trying to he's losing that control all of a sudden.
This is out of his control at this point. But
when he gets to this a certain point, he gets
tipped over the edge. He has that moment we talked
(58:43):
about last week, which is one of the great lines
of last week. You know that were more than twelve.
But even after that, he's still the next episode of
which we're going to talk about shortly. I mean he
comes in this first episode, he's still kind of like crazy,
I don't know, we can't He's like all sorts of like,
I don't know what to do out he comes back
to it eventually, he does, and even when he's given
the speech, he doesn't quite No, he's like, this is
(59:05):
all out of his his comfort zone.
Speaker 3 (59:07):
He is.
Speaker 1 (59:09):
When he gets that push though, he does have that
heart in that ground. And you're right when he finally
gets it together and gets some going and he has
the heartbreaking moment, you're like, oh God, you pour some
of a bitch. Do you know what we left in
a cliffhanger. We don't know if he got out, he
could still jumped over. Somebody could help.
Speaker 2 (59:27):
He's in this season, isn't he He's confirmed in season two?
Speaker 3 (59:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (59:33):
Oh say, I didn't know that.
Speaker 2 (59:34):
Actually, yeah, he confirmed that he's going to be in
season two.
Speaker 1 (59:36):
Oh well, then thank god at least.
Speaker 2 (59:39):
Relay it to my force vision.
Speaker 1 (59:40):
Okay, that's fair, that's fair, okay, all right, all right,
we'll also talk about a couple other quick ones then. Uh,
I won't say Lutheran also as well, But I'm gonna
just say talk about it because it's mainly it's mainly
the speech speakably honest and yeah, we're going to talk
about that for sure. Yeah, But the one last one
(01:00:02):
I will shout out specifically also for this arc is Brassou.
The riot is all Brasso. I I just look at
it and go, holy ship, that anger in his soul,
Like he's the guy who is such easy. I can
(01:00:22):
actually feel I want to call myself Brasso, even though
I don't want to like make myself be that good
of a guy like, but as it's someone who tends
to like not get angry. It's kind of like be
a loyal person who tends to be like very low key,
I'll help you out, not going to rock the boat.
I don't like, I don't get angry easy, You're not
(01:00:44):
gonna be like I'm just even keel. But then it
gets the point where I get really angry, and then
I like to hit somebody in the face of the brook,
as it were. And that's that's what at Brasso is,
is that loyal guy. And he gets pushed over the
edge like everybody does. He gets rallied by a great
Marba speech and a terribly incommon an imperial commander who
(01:01:06):
does not know how to control crowd and goes abe
ship and he's gonna about got to kick some masks,
and I love that about him, and he performs us
so well. He does a lot of facial acting, does
have a lot of lines of dialogue. He's not a
dialogue guy. He's not many words, but he has that
so you can see that fire in his eyes, that
fired his belly. And I think one of the great
(01:01:29):
shots of and Or, and one of the one you
want to sum up and Or in one still is
him with the brick screaming. That's and Andor for me.
Speaker 2 (01:01:41):
And like, you know that Cassian couldn't have been there.
There's no way that he could have broken out of
Joe in time to get there. But him being the
lead of the procession, it's fucking heartbreaking.
Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
Yeah, he he has to replace cast.
Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
Yeah, he's carrying Cassian. He probably did the same when
Cassian's dad died. He was probably there when that happened.
And now he's seeing Cassian's mom that not only that,
he's carrying the brick that holds her ashes for cassiing
because Cassian's not there. He doesn't know that, he doesn't
know that Cassian's in jail, right, but he's doing it anyway.
Speaker 1 (01:02:21):
Yes, absolutely, he he is so loyal. He's going to
help out Mara to the end, he's there or thirty
helps up. He has those great sweet moments to be
two email that Okay, I will, I will, I mean,
but it's like he's great, he's great. So basically he's
great with the animals, basically what you're doing there, and
(01:02:42):
he's like, but he does he if anybody's going to
step up, he's gonna step up. He's gonna be brass.
So he's gonna step up, be loyal, be everything else.
I love the guy. I love the guy wholeheardly and
he shook his with a good and he has those
great momas. So that's why I wanted to make sure
he gets that. And uh yeah, he definitely got it.
Speaker 2 (01:03:01):
So Tony Gilroy asked, where to fucking god, if you
do anything to brast you fight out of a fucking cannon.
Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
Yes, that's what I meant by that. You're already not
gonna be working there anymore. You're already done. So all right,
Next up, this might be a long one because I
my uh the lines I picked for just long lines
favorite lines of dialogue. In this week we called this category.
I spec we had some great, great, great lines of dialogue.
(01:03:34):
I'm gonna start with one line. We might be here
for five minutes to read the entire line.
Speaker 2 (01:03:39):
I've got some quite shorter ones. Do you want me
to go first?
Speaker 1 (01:03:42):
So I think we got it. I think we intersperse
them because I have a couple of long ones. I
want to start with the first one. Kindness, kinship, love.
I've given up all chances in a piece. I maybe
my mind us some of the space.
Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
Go a little bit lower. You've almost got staling scars,
got but like go a little bit lower, and.
Speaker 1 (01:04:05):
I share my dream with ghosts. Then to the quation
I wrote fifteen years ago. When there's only one conclusion,
I'm damn for it. I do my anger ego. I
had willingness to yield, my eagerness to fight. They set
me on a path from the chairs, no escape. Are
you earned to be a savior against injustice without contemplating
(01:04:25):
the cost. By the time I look down, there's no
longer any ground beneath my feet. What is my sacrifice them?
To use the tools of my enemy to defeat them.
I burned my decency for someone else's future. I burned
my life to make a sunrise, And I know I'll
never see see the egos that started this fight will
never have a mirror or an audience the lights of gratitude.
Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
So what do I sacrifice?
Speaker 1 (01:04:50):
Nine? You'll stay with me, Lanie. You know all the
heroes I can get.
Speaker 2 (01:04:58):
He's a fucking oh.
Speaker 1 (01:04:59):
My god, selling scars guard. Give me them and you
get that. That's an EMI warbiting speech right there. Holy shit,
that's try fucking good.
Speaker 2 (01:05:06):
And I know Ken, our dear friend, Ken knaps up.
I know it doesn't sit with him as well as
it does with us. So Ken, I know you listen.
I'm sorry to wax poetic about this monologue. Holy fuck,
that is a great that That is cinema.
Speaker 1 (01:05:27):
That is cinema acting star wars. And that's why I'll
say it again. We started saying against in Seleton Career
and Jude Law. Get these name actors like that, proven
actors to play these parts, because mother fucker like they
are act there good actors for a reason. I'm not
(01:05:49):
saying unknowns can't give good performances. I'm not saying that,
but these are tried and true performers and they can.
They can escape into these roles and they can give
you performances like that. It helps it definitely helps that,
and or's probably I had to say it, especially dialogue wise,
the best written show we've got in Star Wars, like
purely dialogue wise. I know it's not some people have
(01:06:12):
like it's not. There are a cup of tea Star Wars.
Why I get the Star Wars super part of the
it's not the swaggering adventure. It's not like the Pulpy
and Mandalorian stuff. And it's not like other shows have
badly written stuff. But like this is just a very
well specific dialogue line of dialogue. Yeah, it's wonderful. And
(01:06:33):
get those actors to perform those lines of dialogue, you
get cinema and that's.
Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
What you got here. So I don't toot my own
horn a lot about a lot of things. I have
a pretty fucking good lyricist. It would take some It
took something like this for me to take a line
from somebody else and put it in one of my songs,
which I have done. That's so I probably are. I
(01:07:00):
probably are. Tony gilroya writing credit on The New Mornery.
People don't say it's okay, but yeah, it's, oh my god,
I don't. I never expected that from any show, let
alone a Star Wars show that level of oh get
I get chills. I watched it literally last night, and
(01:07:21):
I still get chills, like thinking about it and talking
about it. And I heard it a million times because
we're gonna be walking on statue at this summer. So
every rehearsal, every week, I hear that fucking quote and
still gives me goosebumps.
Speaker 1 (01:07:34):
Absolutely, that was not even great performance by me, Just
so you know, I wish I could. I actually said
watch which I could sit back and actually performed out
time and dialogue. I've just been reading it and Scar
and he's telling Cardigi as.
Speaker 2 (01:07:44):
Your voice, so about to your your college years, when.
Speaker 1 (01:07:49):
Absolutely I want to hit one hit one of those
smaller quotes.
Speaker 2 (01:07:53):
Now, scuffed the Empire nice different from doing from either
Dey or free Da. I can't remember which one, but
just go off the empire like we just get we
(01:08:14):
got ship in the first in the in the third
episode just as well, just saying ship yep. Now we
have like random words like scoff the empire. We obviously
know we could. We were supposed to get fucked the Empire,
(01:08:35):
Yes we didn't. We got scoff.
Speaker 1 (01:08:39):
Close enough, close enough. We get it. That sounds a
good one.
Speaker 2 (01:08:43):
That's another little one I wanted to point out.
Speaker 3 (01:08:47):
I gave.
Speaker 2 (01:08:48):
It actually comes from Bells where she says I gave
him how our darning? What have you done for him lately? Yes?
Speaker 1 (01:08:57):
And claim's response, and it's just like the fucking the balls.
Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
Yeah, this privileged little rich girl, yeah, is actually like
getting involved in the rebellion. And she's just like, you're
not gonna push me around, like I just robbed an
imperial facility for here. What have you done? You've been
in here, You've been here inside this little trunket shop
(01:09:26):
playing pretend bank glads.
Speaker 1 (01:09:29):
Response is pretty good too, though you know what, I
don't have the exact land doll and everybody goes you
know that I have always, every time, every day. Kind
of kind of nice not bad response, but yeah, I
don't agree. I love Bell, you know I love Bell.
I had a couple other little ones before I gets
to their big one.
Speaker 2 (01:09:46):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:09:47):
Qino Loy is when he finally breaks a little bit.
No one is getting out. Yeah, explode amongst the prisoners
there there all that hope I'm going about about what's
going on? He finally he declares it. He is the
(01:10:08):
leader that he makes itself brilliant and.
Speaker 2 (01:10:11):
Then that becomes one way out. That's right, which is
now It's only happened once. But you know, we've now
had the running of the hoods. We now have the
running of the Nachina five prisoners at celebration where they
run through the convention center all shot in, one way out,
one way. It's a beautiful sight to see and it
(01:10:33):
coming from something like that. Mm hmm, it's true beautiful.
Speaker 1 (01:10:37):
Let's do it. I'm gonna do it right now. Let's
do it. Yeah. My name that is the day shift
manager on level five. I'm speaking to you for the
commands center and level eight. We are at this moment
in control of the facility. How long we hang on?
Speaker 2 (01:10:53):
Can I give you a bit of a direction? Note, yep,
you're a bit too gruff. Yeah, a little bit more,
a bit more brick to it.
Speaker 1 (01:11:02):
I can get fir time. I'm not good in the accents,
will give you that.
Speaker 2 (01:11:04):
But we hang on, give me, give me one take
of each.
Speaker 1 (01:11:11):
How long we hang on, how far we get, how
many of us make it out? All that is now
up to us. We have deactivated every floor in the facility,
all floors are cold. Wherever you are right now, get up,
(01:11:31):
stop the work, get out of yourselves, take charge, and
stop start climbing. They don't have enough guards and they
know it. If we wait until they figure that out,
it'll be too late. You'll never have a better chance
than this. And I would rather die trying to take
(01:11:53):
them down than giving them what they want.
Speaker 5 (01:11:58):
We know they fried one hundred men on level two.
We know that they are making up our sentences as
we go along. We know that no one outside here
knows what's happening.
Speaker 2 (01:12:15):
This is awesome now we know.
Speaker 1 (01:12:18):
And when they say we are being released, we are
being transferred to some other prison to go and die.
Speaker 2 (01:12:26):
And that ends today.
Speaker 1 (01:12:31):
There is one way out right now. The building is ours.
You need to run climb, Carol. You need to help
each other. You see someone who's confused, someone who's lost,
you get them moving, and you keep them moving until
(01:12:52):
we put this place behind us. There are five thousand
of us. If we can fight half as hard as
we've been working, and we'll be home in no time.
Speaker 2 (01:13:03):
What way out? Kim is about to walk in that
room and be like, what the fuck are you doing?
Speaker 1 (01:13:13):
Kim is not here that's why I was able.
Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
To do Okay, prapa, what's on my dog's like?
Speaker 1 (01:13:20):
What are you doing over there?
Speaker 2 (01:13:23):
Emmy winning performance there from pot.
Speaker 1 (01:13:27):
From the Great any Circus. I love it so much.
Speaker 2 (01:13:29):
I love it so much, so powerful, one of the
greatest acts of all time. Okay, I had to pull that.
I had to pull my headphones out.
Speaker 1 (01:13:40):
It was like right, I was like Jesus, sorry for
the volume, guy, that's true. Start with the volume. Sorry
the volume.
Speaker 2 (01:13:47):
I don't apologize. It's a very impassionate speech. You know
you did well, Thank you, thank you, appreciate walk in
your anti sex impression. If you'd have done it now
doing in the voice of call.
Speaker 1 (01:13:57):
I can't do anymore s one ounce I can't do.
I can't do go. I want to get you that
part about it? Oh my god? All right, we have
one more big land, which I'll try to perform as well,
but I'm gonna go this. A couple of small ones left.
(01:14:18):
You have any other the other small ones left?
Speaker 2 (01:14:20):
No God, God for it. I think we all the
big ones.
Speaker 1 (01:14:24):
I do have one more small small bits. I wanted
to say I did like this, I can't remember. I
always forget his name Dobscaldo, Dove, Davis Davis hold, I

Speaker 2 (01:14:39):
Yep, so.
Speaker 1 (01:14:43):
God, I did too that And uh when Braso tells
Passion what Marv was saying, I'll tell him I love
him more than anything he could ever do wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:14:55):
Oh God, I should have mentioned that that. Oh yeah,
that ye crush me all right.
Speaker 1 (01:15:03):
The last one, Let's see if I can do a Marva.
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:15:09):
Oh, don't do it.
Speaker 1 (01:15:13):
The name is mother. I'm gonna do it as a man,
but I'll do the trends that I actually wanted to do.
The whole long one. I'm not gonna go. The whole
speech is great. The whole speech is building. We have
the music. I love by the way they use the
end or they have like the marching band do the
theme song in the beginning, like it kind of like
changes the episode a little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:15:34):
Yeah, And they also do it in the major key
as opposed to the minor. Right the original the actual
theme is in minor. And they yes, the march Man
do a major.
Speaker 1 (01:15:42):
Yes, And she goes on the whole thing else she's
been in the beginning, but she goes it gets to
the end where it really hits home. It hits home
and he goes. But I fear for you. We've been sleeping.
We've had each other in Ferris, our work, our days.
We've had each other, and they left us alone, kept
the trade lane open, and they left us alone. We
took their money and
