Speaker 1 (00:11):
PLD Project presents Holy Snoops The Star Wars Podcast featuring
PLD and Mattie Gunner.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
You May the Force be with you always. What's up, everybody?
Welcome back to Holy Snops The Star Wars Podcast here
(00:43):
on the Pod Products Network. I am your host of
PLD and with me as always is no one that's right. Actually,
I'm doing a Han episode, or a solo episode as
we call it here. Maddy Gunner, my heteral life made
my partner crime you bacha to Maihan. He is not available.
(01:03):
Kind of a little bit bit of a miscommunication between us.
He is out of his home base and away from
his computer and just say it's two am where he is,
so he is not going to be joining us. He
did make the attempt. He kind of said, oh, I'll
do it, I'll make it up. But I said, you know,
go back to sleep, Maddie. Well, I'll handle it this time.
He'll be back, of course. Actually he won't be back
next week, though He's can be back a couple of
(01:25):
weeks from now, because next week is Star Wars Celebration, which,
by the way, I should let you guys know, I'm
not sure exactly what we're going to do as far
as next week's show go. Maddie is also, like I said,
he's going to be in Japan in celebration. I'm most
likely not going to have a show on Thursday like
I usually do. I'll probably wait on it and do
some live reactions to the announcements that take place throughout
(01:48):
the weekend, probably late night live reactions considering it's happening
in Japan. So say two, I'll announced that on the
channel when that's going to go down. But then Mattie
will return the following week. He'll talk celebration, and you'll
also start getting into and Or, because that's when and
Or using two starts or weeks of three episodes each.
And we will also do a bonus episode on May fifth,
(02:11):
which will cover Tales of the Underworld releasing on May fourth.
A lot of stuff coming up, a lot of good
stuff and coming up in bulk, a lot of hurry
up and wait though, because and after that it's gonna
be maybe a slow, slower period. I'll have to see
what we're gonna do after that. So today I'm gonna
be doing I guess thats a so episode, so probably
a little shorter without anybody to banter to you. I
(02:31):
don't banter back with myself, so otherwise I might be committed.
But you know, that's okay. But I do have some
news and bits and bobs, and as you see the thumbnail,
we're talking about celebration and we're gonna previews on the
panels if you're gonna go down there, and maybe what
we will or will not be getting news wise, I'm
starting to think it's gonna be less news this year
and more just celebration. And that's okay. Go's some interesting
(02:54):
bits and bobs throughout the day. Got some news that
dropped today from publishing already. Kind of surprised when they
do that. They've been doing that more and more as
I think about it, but it seems like they're dropping
some news before celebration instead of saving it for celebration.
I'm not sure what the reasoning is, or I don't
know if I agree with it or not. It tails
the underworld. I kind of agree with because I get
it that it's happening two weeks after celebrations. They want
(03:16):
to get a little bit more marketing in place and
they can talk about it instead of announcing it a celebration,
the publishing stuff that I'm really kind of surprised that
I've figured they would save it all for the panel,
unless that means there's more news coming that they haven't
announced yet, which is always potentially possibility. But let's get
into our news before we talk about celebration again. This
might be a shorter episode, but if you like the
stuff here, you'll like, subscribe, believe, comments and everything else.
(03:38):
Let me know what you think. This is not what
you usually yet. Like I said, this is just me.
But do you have a Patreon also patreon dot com,
slash pod projects, and a YouTube membership where you get
early access to some of our shows. And also I'm
the Patreon and members exclusive. At a certain tier you
get a bonus podcast from myself and PJ Campbell, a
(03:58):
bonus to Media two, but only a geeks on film
the MCU rewatch for now, stuff that will go live
on the main channel probably six months from now, but
you're gonna get it six months early. So all right,
let's get in see our news bets. A lot of
casting rumors floating around last couple of days, a lot
of casting ms, specifically for the upcoming Sean Levy directed
(04:18):
Star Wars movie our project, which is only been officially
confirmed in the slightest of ways. We've only really ever
officially heard news from Lucasfilm during a Kathleen Kennedy interview
and she was discussing her leaving or not leaving as
it were, the head host of Lucasfilm. She mentioned that
(04:39):
after Mandalorian and Grogu, which is filmed now and is
coming out next year, may have twenty twenty six, that
this is Sean Levy film would be the next film
to go into production. That's the only time anybody from
Lucasfilm or Disney or Star Wars has said anything. We
of course have heard Sean Levy talking about the project.
He was using a Star Wars project, but this was
the first time we got a time for in terms
(05:00):
of that it was going to be next. From there,
we've had some rumors fly around. The biggest one that
came first is Ryan Gosling was going to be attached
to star in the Sean Levy Star Wars film. That
again has never been confirmed by Ryan's never been confirmed
by Disney or Lucasfilm, but it almost appears to be
just kind of accepted. If that's the case now, which's
(05:21):
always a dangerous ploy because if it doesn't happen, then
we're going to get all the usual shit talking we
get about Lucasfilm dropping the ball or Disney dropping the
ball when you know they're not announcing it, so it's
technically not officially happening. Yet. We kind of get these
rumors and we take them and we just run with them,
and then all of a sudden we're disappointed when they
don't come true. Personal responsibility, folks, Personal responsibility. But with
(05:42):
the number of trades talking about it and mentioning, it
does seem very likely that Ryan Gosling is attached because
and most likely because it's gonna be filming soon. If
production is starting soon, they have to have that in place.
It also makes sense while we're getting all these casting
rumors dropping around there, the ones that drop today or
the last couple of days, Jody Comer was a new
(06:03):
one that discussed to be joining Brian Gonsling. According to
Scooper MTTSH My Times at Shine, I think it is MTTSH.
I got this from Comic book Movie dot Com. I'm
not who's sure sure who MTTSH is My Time to
Shine Hello. I believe it is from Twitter. Perhaps perhaps
Jody Comer from twenty eight years later killing Eve the
(06:24):
Bike Riders wasn't talk for a undisclosed rule. Of course,
we all know her in lucasfilm in Star Wars because
she's been in Star Wars before. In Star Wars The
Rise of Skywalker, she made a brief appearance as Ray's
biological mother in a flashback scene. Comer has also previously
worked with Levyon Free Guys, so that makes that connection
(06:44):
all the more likely. I don't know what do you
think about this, because I mean, it's not like we
haven't had actors play different roles in Star Wars Reform.
Most famously, Andy Serkis played Supreme Leader Snope with the
sequel trilogy and then came back to play Ken o'loy
and or they're not the same care despite what a
lot of people are predicted. So does this mean that
Jody Commer is coming back as a new character? Is
(07:05):
she coming back as Ray's mom? That's a good question
because we don't know much about the film. We don't
know much about the film at all. We know that
supposedly takes place later on. We heard a sequel era.
I thought, we believe there was maybe post sequel era,
but it was kind of a standalone so it could
take place in that general vicinity. There was there were
(07:26):
rumors at one point that Ray Daisy Ridley would go
into this film as well. Obviously there's a ray film
in development, or possibly a ray trilogy in development that's
been kind of put on the backburner since it was
announced to celebration a couple of years ago, gone through
many different iterations, and we don't know where that iteration
is going to end up, and whether it's related to
the Simon Kinberg development or the seven Kimberg trilogy. A
(07:47):
lot of moving pieces that may or may not be connected.
We do know that at one point there's consideration of
a older ray. At one point was going to be
attached to that was the Damon lindelof Written Tale, which
kind of developed into the ray movie potentially. There's also
kind of a maybe a conflicting reports. Maybe that was
supposed to be for the Sean Leevy movie. There's gonna
be an older Sean Rain and Sean Levy movie, or
(08:08):
maybe that's changed now and maybe we're going back a
little bit timeline Ryan Gosling playing the lead character potentially,
and maybe they're going to be taking it back in
time a little bit, and maybe Joey Coummer is coming
back as Ray's mom. Maybe she's gonna have an appearance
in there, maybe to connect the overall galaxy a little
bit well, because while it's going to be a standalone,
it's still in the same play still in the same playground,
(08:29):
you know, still in the same sandbox, so it makes
sense to have that connection continue either way. We don't know.
That's all we know is that it's a rumor to happen.
I don't know. What do you think about it? Do
you want to see her come back? Do you want
to see more importantly, do you want to see Ray's
mom come back? Because I know Jody Comber is a
very talented performer, Ray talented actress. Of course we want
to see talented star wars. I don't think anybody would
be against her coming back unless it's the reasoning that
(08:51):
you don't want Rai's mom back, or you don't want
to have confusion about Rai's mom versus his new character.
I could see those arguments, but to me, it worked
for Andy Serkus. That can Jody all right?
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Next up?
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Then another casting rumor which came from I believe it
was Daniel rp k who is the hit or miss.
So you never know what's gonna go on there we
are talking. We were talking about Jesse Plemmons, of course,
the guy who made his mark versus the guy who
looked like Matt Damon. But he's definitely made his mark
Breaking Bad and a lot of movies since Game Night.
(09:26):
He's hilarious and phenomenal actor overall. He was actually rumored
to be in The Force Awakens as domain and villain.
At one point he was in talks to play Kyler
Ren during the initial iteration of The Force Awakens. At
least that was the report. We don't hear much about it,
but obviously the part went to Adam Driver and at
least the role, even if it was a different role.
(09:47):
It evolved and Adam Driver took over that role. Now
he is getting a chance potentially to be a villain
in this Star Wars movie, in the Sean Lovey movie.
And that it's a good question on that. I don't
know who whether or not that's true or not, because
of because of the source, No slight to Daniel Rpka.
He has been a little hit a little miss. We'll
have to see how that develops. I think Jesse Plummins
(10:09):
is a phenomenal actor. His little his little bit in
Civil War was the highlight of that movie for me,
of a good movie. So I would love to see
Jesse Plemmins in the Star Wars universe as a villain.
I don't know if he would be a lightsaber wielding
villain or if he'd be more of a mercenary villain
or be more of a political villain. I don't know,
but I think he's got the physicality to take care
(10:30):
of things either way. Again, it's talent, and I've been
I've been really talking about this a lot on the
show recently. We had this kind of affinity to this
hesitancy to put big name actors in the Star Wars rules,
wanting to disappear into the roles, and I get that argument,
but it's been but I would I always pushed back
(10:50):
against it because we've always kind of had bigger roles
ever since the original trilogy ed the original trilogy, Sure,
they are all pretty much newcomers, even though Alecanness wasn't
even though you know Peter Cushing weren't. But they were
kind of like older actors on their more of the
twilight of their careers, so it wasn't anybody like a
really a list at the time. That kind of changed
a little bit. And in the prequels, Liam Heuston was
(11:10):
certainly a big name when he played Qui Gon. Egan
mcgrettor was certainly a big name when he got the
cast as Obi Wan, And more recently we've had some
great actors give some great performances. Stellen Scarsgart a phenomenal performer.
I couldn't see anybody else in that role as Luthen
Jude Law as John Lovewood, no actor definitely the heart
of that series that would made Skeleton Crew go for
(11:32):
you is watching his character and his performance. I think
that putting name actors into these productions is going to
only help things. I love the fact that we're getting
Ryan Gosling, great performer and great actor having him in
this role. I think he can disappear into this role
very easily. He's not like a Ryan Reynolds type, which
is someone I would knock against. I don't think i'd
want Ryan Reylds in the Star Wars universe because he
always plays Ryan Reynolds. That makes them a little more difficult.
(11:54):
Now Ryan Reynolds voice like a droid for a one
off cameo or something that makes more sense to me,
I'm okay with that. That wouldn't take me out too much.
I wouldn't actually be surprised if that does happen, considering
Name and Sean are art as close as they are.
Hopefully it's not a big role I do all I
care about, but most are bigger name actors that are
actually performers, and I think they can disappear into the
(12:15):
role quite well, I think, and I think jesse Plemmon
is one of those kind of actors. I want to
see you this kind of thing, so I'm excited about that.
During that jesse Plemmon's article also, I sourced that from
Comic Movie News. It does say the movie will have
a significantly smaller budget than the previous Disney era film
and as a more contained story. Dousland's unnamed Lee is
(12:35):
also said to be companied by a younger character who
is a Jedi Padaan interesting a Jedi paddad On. If
that's the case, that's true, does that maybe informed that
we are post right a sky Welker with the the
Jedi Order having been re rebuilt, or does it in
case we're actually way back at time during Luke's era,
does Luke make an appearance in that way some kind
(12:57):
of DA's version. I know that's a hot button topic.
Opular don't want to see the Dahs anymore. A lot
of people want to see someone recast potentially, but then
they had problems with the solo recast, so it doesn't
seem you can win either way. I still think the
only way you can really do Luke on and lay
the stories at this point and get away without too
much controversies to do it animated. But you know, I've
never been I've been excited about seeing them doing things.
(13:19):
Especially I love seeing Luke at the end of Mandalorian
having a significant role. That's much bigger ball of wax
to kind of like unwind here. But either way, it's
interesting to see where That's what I'm most interested about
is where is this movie going to take place? Right?
All right? Finally the other bit of essential casting news,
(13:40):
and I wish Maddie was here for this one. This
is I gotta I gotta come right clean right from
the beginning. This news is for me and Maddie for
lovers in this podcast. However, I don't want anyone to
get over excited about this and overly hyped. I want
you to set your set your expectations to a zero level,
(14:03):
a ground floor level, and then be excited if it
does happen, because I think people are overlooking it, are
looking way too hardened to this. On comboomovie dot com,
there was a interview that was done with Jim Cummings
the obviously note the voice of the one, the only,
(14:25):
the person who is our mascot, the spirit of our show,
Hondo O Naka. He had an interview when discussing King
of Kings and he said in that interview that quote unquote.
When asked about going back to Hondo, the character of Hondo,
he mentioned talking about Hondo, how he did the Galaxies run,
(14:48):
the Smugglers run actually at the at Disney, and all
that kind of things to talk about the history of
the character and how much he loved it. Even went
into the voice for a little bit, which is always fun. Yes,
he actually had a great quote from the vote. When
talked about back he initially said yes, yes, absolutely, while
speaking of coming back and knock on wood, we'll see
what is in store for our friend hondo Oaka. That
(15:08):
part typical actor speak. Nothing big. It was the quote
at the end of the conversation where he kind of
brought it up unimprompted or rather slightly prompted when talking
about future projects. Comics did confirm he said, quote, I
did the facial recognition for hondo Onaka for an upcoming project,
so Tay tuned for that. Well, that says something a
(15:30):
lot more. That's a lot more definitive. So he has
done work for hondo Onnaka. However, comic book movie News
and a lot of the trade and a lot of
people on social media are throwing it out there. They're
saying that this has to be for Mandalorin and Grugu.
Star Wars fans are disappointed when Honda didn't show up
with Skeleton Drew though, and or season two is another possibility.
(15:52):
And they went on and on and on, and nobody
that I've seen so far, nobody that was brought up
the fact that for Star Wars Outlaws, the game, the
video game that's been out for a bit now, has
a downloadable content coming out, and that download of content
the second chapter of it was a hando oh kna
a story, so he could very easily be for that potentially,
(16:18):
whether or not, I don't know. Maybe maybe I'm being
naive because maybe you don't do facial recognition unless you're
doing a live action version. That's possible, but I kind
of feel like they could do that as far as
an wanted to animate him more into the role. They
make them look kind of like how Mark Ruffalo looks
like the Hulk now in live action. I get that
(16:40):
maybe the animators want to make them look more like
Jim Cummings, a kind of more Hondo Jim Cummings ish
Hondo for outlaws. I don't know what that intention is.
I just want to throw some cold water on there
and go, this is This could be all it is.
Jim Cummings wouldn't know what's like. He just knows he's
got something coming out. He knows what it is, but
he can't talk about it. He can't so he doesn't
understand and how dropping a bit like that could set
(17:02):
the world of fire as far as as far as
Hondo fans go. However, as your recognition could be for
live action if that's the case. The other side of
things is the theme parks. Is he loves doing the
theme park stuff. Obviously he has that big role in
the Smugglers Run pre thing and the big animatronic with
that would be more theme park possibilities. I don't know.
(17:25):
I'm trying to not be too excited because I don't
want to be disappointed. But there is more Hondo coming
in some way, shape or form, and that could only
be good to keep him involved because then more likely
there is more more likely there's gonna be even more
down the line. Should have gott him his skeleton crew.
Hopefully we're to get him maybe a Sosaka season two
that would make sense a lot too. A lot of
(17:46):
people didn't bring up a Sosaca season two that is
starting production, that's gonna start filming shortly, and having Hondo
meet up with Ezra Bridger again absolutely makes sense. So
that would be a good thing to actually be across
my fingers find out Hondo Watch will return after and Or.
I mean, some people said I should put Hondo Watch
back on for Andori season two. I'm not gonna. I'm
(18:07):
still gonna stick with Moss watch, because I really don't
think Hondo's gonnappear in and Or and not the right
tone for that show, although although you never say never,
and obviously we are bridging closer to Rogue one, which
does have a little more humor a side to it,
so there couldn't know K TSO and K two s
O is gonna be in and Ord season two, so
we could see something maybe totally that could be a
(18:29):
breath of fresh air amongst all the tragedy. I don't know,
we'll have to see, but I uh, I'm not too
hopeful about and Or season two. Everything else, be cautiously optimistic,
all right, Next time we get before breaking into the
celebration breakdown, publishing news was dropped again, dropped today before
(18:53):
I started recording for his seven announcements of stuff that's
coming up publishing wise, which again I'm kind of surprised
they did. They had a celebration a couple weeks from now.
There's a Lucasfilm Publishing panel. Unless there's more, why do
it now? You should launch it there, make it part
of the panel. And then he launched the press release after.
Because it's not like any of these are imminent. It's
all coming up later on. But I don't understand the marketing.
(19:17):
I'm not part of the marketing team. I'm a lonely
YouTuber out here, so what do I know? All right?
Next up a celebration gen This is from star Wars
dot com, so it's as official as official can be said.
How do Star Wars Celebration Japan twenty twenty five if
a special look at seven new announcements including cover reveals.
See that right there says they are new announcements ahead
(19:39):
of Star Wars Celebration. So it's like, these are the
announcements that are gonna happen at celebration. Why are you
doing a pre announcement and announcement? I don't get it.
That's all right, we'll get into it. The first one
and the most important one for me. As much as
I love a lot of the reference books and I
love looking at all the the art books and all
kinds of stuff, for me, give me the actual fiction
books that are coming, especially with the Higher publican thic.
(19:59):
The Higher Public is ending this leave us June is
the last is the date of trials. The Jedi that
comes out at a High Republic initiative comes out, so
what's next. Is there going to be a bigger initiative
like the High Republic. Are we going to do more standalone? Well,
we have a standalone announced. We're delving into the dark
Side with Star Wars Master of Evil. Now, this was
(20:22):
a book we mentioned a couple of weeks ago as
they were. They had a placeholder put on Penguin House
and a putch of different sites. There's nothing, it was
just Star Wars Master Egle. It's all we knew, was
the title. We had rumors potentially that Adam Christopher was
the author. He quoted quoted something on social media about
about being involved in upcoming project that right at the
(20:42):
same time this had been soft announced on the websites
or whatever are soft to put on there, And we
have confirmation. Now this is Adam Christopher and it is
now a Darth Vader novel. Now your mile's being very
on that. I know some people have said, you know,
we want to try to branch out, do new things,
et cetera, et cetera. I think we just did a
higher public era and it was all new characters as
(21:02):
part of minus a little bit of Yoda. So the
fact that we haven't gone to Darth Vader novel in
ten years since Lord's the Sith written by Adam Christopher,
So here we go. From comics runs to Star Wars rebels.
We've had a chance to see what Darth Vader was
up to after the events of Star Wars Revenge of
the Sith. But just how dark is Vader's pre Star
(21:23):
Wars A new hope journey newly announced Star Wars Mastery
of Evil by Adam Christopher, author of the best selling
Star Wars Shadow of Sith, Shadow of the Sith, count
not Lord. This Shadow of the Sith chronicles Vader's haunting
pursuits for the power to conquer Death Hell. The creepy
cover art reveal art with art by Simon Goinhard and
gets your hands on the Sinister story on November eleventh,
(21:45):
twenty twenty five. The cover art is basically Vader looking
pretty creepy, a little smoke on his face, a little
bit of a paint brush, kind of a look at him.
What do you think about this? Me? I'm all for it.
Darth Vader is my favorite character. Anakin Skyroker, Darth Vader,
his fault, his entire run is my favorite thing about
Star Wars. So when you get into his mind, that's
(22:08):
that's a big time for me because despite him being
pretty much if you had to pick a main character
for Star Wars, I think Anakin's got to be it.
You can say Luke is for some people because he
was the one of the Ritual trilogy. You can say
you don't ray his partner now and at least the
sequel trilogy, so there is no main character, but he
is the big gown at this point. He's the one
that has the if you had to pick somebody, I
(22:28):
think he's gotta be Anakin. He's the It's the Rise
and Fall of Managin Skyborger. That's the original trilogy of
Petical trilogy together. Everything else after that has a lot
of things that are connected to him. But despite all that,
we don't have a lot about DARTHA Vader after he
was Darth Vader. A couple of great comic book runs,
which I less in a little bit. I think the
novel of a novel exploring him in this timeframe be
(22:52):
right before a new hope to really get some interesting
and interesting discussions going about his mindset, where he is,
what he's what he thinking, what he's feeling, what he's
going through. I think a lot that you can exploit here.
I'm fascinated by this. This news, at some point I
think is much better than doing a television show. I
think a TV show will be a cash grab, and
it would be more let's be cool and to a
(23:15):
Vader killing off a lot of Jedi that didn't get
killed d in order sixty six. It doesn't appeal to
me as like as a concept for a show. I
don't mind seeing stuff like that. That's awesome, seeing Vader
in action. I love the rope one always he ones,
that's awesome. But a book where we can get into
inside his head that she is more exciting for me.
So that was the big news announced, the real big one.
(23:39):
I should say it's going out November eleventh again twenty
twenty five, but a bunch of other smaller ones to announce.
We have number two probably this is what I'm secondly
excited about. But one I'm not gonna able to get
for quite a while because I'm sure this one's gonna
be quite expensive. Experience the lasting impacts of Incomparable visionary
and Doug cheng cinematic legacy and the Star Wars legacy.
(24:01):
This two volume, eight hundred page deluxe slipcase collection. Eight
hundred page of luxe and slipcase collection. I want to
say that again celebrates Academy Award winning artist and designer
Doug Chang, Lucas Films Seniors Vice President and Executive Design Director.
And we have your first glimpse of the cover art
in your art department for Star Wars defendom Menace Reduction
designer on the Mandalorian Chang's genieses her prints are all
(24:23):
over the visual language of Star Wars. And the special
collection is out December second, twenty twenty five, celebrating the
Galaxy hand Beyond. And if you look at the book
from Abrams, it is exactly looks exactly like the Ralph
McCrory one that had come out previously. Very expensive but
really really worth diving into. That Ralph McCrory book was
(24:44):
one of my favorite Star Wars art books out there.
It showed so much in there. And Doug Chang is probably,
I don't want to hopelly no one takes offense to this.
He's kind of like the prequel eras people are. Ralph McCrory.
He is the guy who's been in charge a lot
of the design work the prequels on up and through
a lot of the Disney era as well, so I
(25:04):
don't want to some people might be upset. I put
him on the same level as Rob McCory, and I'll
not say necessarily saying that, but if anyone wants to
get this kind of collection from this era, Doug Cheng
is definitely the guy to be that guy. So I'm
definitely gonna try to find that at some point. I
think that's gonna be a wonderful coffee table book for
Star Wars fans everywhere. Okay, a couple other ones. We
(25:25):
got some chilly ones get into the Halloween spirit. Earlier
this year with reveal of Star Wars, I find your
lack of candy disturbing Hall treats and no tricks. We
promised the fun reading cart in a book features some
of our favorite characters in all their grulish glory, including
a new including this new fun cover, which is Vader
with a lightsaber and a trick or treat Halloween Death
Star like Pumpkin for a trick or treat with full candy.
(25:48):
I don't know exactly what that is, necessarily, it's more
definitely youth youth related. I probably won't be getting that one,
but hey, your minds only Varia, maybe your kids would
love it. Next up, get your first look at the

But the art of is phenomenal. I think the art
of books are some of my favorite ones as well.
I love looking into the production designs and when like
the pre casting look staftings, what these were potentially going
to do and what was changed, and the Accolte looked beautiful.
(26:54):
They can say anything you want about the story. I
think a lot of the Accolte looked beautiful, so I
can wait to look at that as well. Stories that

gonna be fun to watch to see what's going on there,
all right. Next up, Star Wars of the Blueprints by J. W.

there are. One of those location books like location books

(28:21):
That's available on October second in the UK October seventh
in the US. Next up, the final one. We're going
to mention today and I'm wondering again if this is
going to be the final one we get for Lucasfilm Publishing,
and at celebration we we'll find out. A newly updated
edition of Star Wars. Women of the Galaxy celebrates new
characters including the women of Andor Omega from Star Wars,
(28:43):
the bad Batch, Peli Model from the Mandalorian Avar, Cris
from The High Republic Shinhazi of Ahsoka Fame with dazzling
artwork for each entry and cheer collection starting April twenty ninth,
twenty twenty five, so right after celebration. So all right there,
I believe that is all the news that's fit to print.
(29:04):
I had to talk about. Let's now break into celebration
and then Japan twenty twenty five panel schedule that was
dropped on Star Wars dot com. What we these are
the big events and what do we think is gonna happen?
What's not gonna happen. We do have the unfortunate news
that had drunk rating Celebration that Austra Isaac had to
cancel his appearance, which is sad for some people and
(29:27):
most people. I'm sure I know a lot of people
that predicted that maybe something big was gonna come out
because Oscar Isaac was actually going to be a celebration
and that was going to be an announcement. I guess not.
So we're always saying that he's going to be filming
for Doomsday, the Avengers movie, which is starting production soon,
but I don't know if that's the case. So he's
not been on He was not one of the chairs,
(29:47):
so I don't think. I don't know if that's the
guys or not. Interesting, interesting to see what's going to
develop there, but sad that he's not gonna be there
for people. All Right, let's go into the big ev
In celebration the Galaxy in Twinsun's stage Friday, April eighteenth,
at ten am Japan time, The Mandalorian and Grogu live
(30:09):
in the celebration stage, joined Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and
special guests for a sneak peak at what's to come
and for the Mandalorian and Grogu on their biggest adventure yet,
this time on the big screen and in theaters in
twenty twenty six. This is one of the big panels,
for sure. I mean, gonna get this right out the way.
This is one of the big panels. Absolutely, John, Dave
and special guests. I'd assume we're gonna get Paedro Pascal there.
(30:31):
Perhaps we're gonna get potentially some of the other cast
members as well. Sneak peak this is we're gonna get
our first teaser for the Mandalorn and Gurgu. Whether it's
public or not is something I don't know. It might
be so con exclusive. I'm hoping not. I'm hoping we
get a short teaser srel cerel. We have seen citelreels before,
(30:51):
or at least cons have, but has not had anything
publicly out there. Some lead footage and some phone recordings
have gotten out there about this from This is all real,
but this is hopefully gonna be the first time we
got a year from us. It's about a year in advance.
It makes sense to get the people to start talking
about it. That of course would be like you know,
ten to thirty second kind of just quick blurb, So
(31:12):
I wouldn't expect the honey thing big, not a full
trailer at all, but perhaps something and I'm hoping that
that is the I think that might be the big
news we get as far as publicly from the cons.
Get that teaser to come out, but maybe not. It
might be a convention exclusive and we'll have to say
about that, but should be a cool panel. We don't
have a lot of information. We have a lot of rumors,
not much confirmed. Filming is done, and it's impressive that
(31:35):
we haven't had many leaks to it. I mean, we
know Sigourney Weavers in it. That's been confirmed she's actually
commented on it. We've heard about Jeremy and White voicing Ratta.
A lot of stuff out there, a lot of rumors
out there, but not much is known, and this will
be our first time getting a look at something going on.
Hopefully we get to stream it and at least it
(31:57):
comes out, even if it's out without the con exclusive teaser.
I'm hoping to get something that we get to see,
but we'll find out. I'm excited about this panel. This
would be one of the good ones. Okay. Next up
the Hasbro Star Wars panel. This is for all you
collectors out there. Word on the whole net. Is there
maybe a few surprises there. It's not something excites me
very often. I would not go to this panel. I'm
(32:19):
not a collector like I uh never it was much
of a collector, to be honest with you. I know
a lot of people are looking forward to that panel
for sure. There's a Lucasfilm publishing a Manga Mania panel
on noon that day, a deep dive into the past, present,
and future Maga stories from a galaxy far far away
with authors and artist from around the world, featuring all
new announcements and reveals. That's something we're getting announcements for.
(32:39):
We haven't seen anything coming from that. I know the
Edge of Balance has been greatly received in the Higher
Public era, something I don't know if can be connect
to that, or they're going to do something more worth that.
Perhaps it's kind of weird because we have the Higher
Republican Initiative ending, and that's the main storyline of the
not Hill of Market and Row and the Jedi at
that time. It doesn't mean that we have to end
all tail of the High Republic. We can still have
(33:01):
Higher Republic era novels, including some of our favorite characters.
They would just be more specifically one off shots or
trilogyes or whatever. Perhaps the manga will continue in the
Higher Public era after the High Republic Initiative has come
and gone. Next up, we have a couple of I'm
not gonna talk about the filming or the greetings of
previously released stuff. I'm not gonna talk about that at all.
(33:23):
Lighton Magic one or two at Live in Celebration Stage,
Deep Deep Dive into Lighton Magic, the critically acclaimed documentary
series Chronicle and the legendary Journey of indust Relating Magic,
which has a new season coming out. That could be
very cool. Lucasville Publishing Stories MC Galaxy, far far away
from Live in the Galaxy stage at two o'clock joined
us in Japan for the latest publishing news from the
prequel trilogy to the sequel trilogy and beyond, including news
(33:46):
in the grand finale of the High Republic with Adam Christopher.
That's where the the The Dark Lord Master Book and
Master at Evil is coming to play. Tessa Gradden, Mark Rugen,
nim Lydia kang Ethan Sachs feeling so stacked, Alsa Wam
and Marvel's subol Ski. That's gonna be hopefully a big stuff.
Get some comics there. Marvels is gonna be there as well,
(34:07):
probably get They're gonna hit on the High Republic closing finale.
I'm kind of hoping that the big news we get
from this the one I'm really hoping for beyond Master
of Evil. Maybe you put Master Eeveel out because it
might get overwhelmed by another announcement, that other announcement being
more of a what is the next if there is
one full on initiative. The Higher Public era had novels,
(34:29):
They had adult novels. Junior novels, young reader novels, and
comic books. Are we're gonna have something like that again?
Now if the Higher Book is ending, are we going
to go back to the Old Republic, back to at
the dawn of the Jedi era? We're gonna do something
like that far in the future, legacy era, legacy, the
Jedi area kind of thing, perhaps in between. I don't know.
There's a lot of potential for that. I did love
the idea of having that interconnected story that, like, you
(34:51):
could read just the adult novels and get the basic story.
You could read the comics and get the story. But
if it has some cool kind of connectivity, I want
to read the whole thing I did. I'm in the
process of doing so. I'm not caught up yet, but
I'm hoping that that is the big announcement myself. If
it's not, which I'm not, I'm thinking it's about fifty
to fifty on that. I think it's something they like doing,
but it might be they might now want to commit
(35:13):
to something so big. I could feel that maybe what
they're gonna do is just kind of give us an
announcement of some what's going to bridge the gap between
now and say twenty twenty seven, twenty twenty seven celebration
might be a huge celebration. Obviously, fifty years of Star Wars.
They might want to do a lot of things that
maybe a big production will come then. I don't know
where to find out next up. Telling stories across culture
(35:34):
of Star Wars in Japan this is kind of a
cool specifically Japan Center. There's a couple of panels there.
They're definitely connecting Star Wars with Japan and their own country,
which makes sense talking basically about but Japanese storytelling and
how Star Wars has kind of inversed into that as well.
My big panel that I'm looking forward to on Friday,
this is the big one for me. Lucasfilm Animation's twentieth
(35:56):
anniversary hour long panel and celebration stage stream to the
Galaxy's Days. We're joining Dave Filoni, Chief Creative Officer, an
Athena Partillo, Vice President and Animation Production as we celebrate
twenty years of Lucasfilm Animations critically claim stories beloved characters,
including a sneak peak at what's to come now. This
is the panel that could make or break my celebration.
(36:18):
I'll be honest with you. We have the announcement, like
we said, of Tales the Underworld, and that dropped a
couple of weeks ago. Before that, I was really looking
forward to this panel to see the including a sneak
peak at what's to come. Now the cynical side of me,
on the side of me, the one who is very
(36:39):
sadly looking at maybe was not to come. I don't know,
is worrying that that is all worthed again. That's a
sneak peak that we're gonna get a other trailer again,
and maybe you have an interview with Dave or whoever involved,
or maybe the voice actors like from Massage and from
Cavbane about Tales of the Underworld. And it's not that
(37:00):
I'm not excited about tais the Underworld. I am super
excited about it. I love the Tales of series. I'm
hoping this is the continuation of like an annual thing
where we get like six shorts from somewhere around the
galaxy and thinks this is a great addition to the storytelling. However,
I'm just worried that's the only thing announce So we've
been looking forward to this potential new series since the
(37:22):
bad Batchend. We've been waiting for a new long term series,
not just the shorts, like a full on series, and
that's been hopefully in development by now it should be already.
We know Lucasfilm had been hiring animators and I got
I think it was more than just for Tales of
the Underworld. However, with the idea of being that everybody,
well not everybody but me and many people really thought
(37:44):
the Sage Ventris story was going to be the next
actual series, that was going to be the next series.
And if they're doing her story in Tales of the Underworld,
is that in the gate? Is that going to be
in something different? Is going to be happening with the
main story the full on series, or is this going
to lead into the full series? Or is this it
(38:08):
is this? They're not announcing me a full series. Not
a hard time believing the cynical side of me and
the optimist side of me and do a lot of war.
The optimist side of me reminds myself that there are
always rumors out there, and they are rumors, I know,
so your mouths may very that because live action was
kind of slowing down and getting more into the movie
side of things that anime was going to be king
and they were going to take over as far as
(38:30):
the recent future, as far as that goes, and even
that there would be more animation, not less. So I'm
thinking that there's gonna be more. I'm hoping it's gonna
beat another thing. And I hope we're getting a big announcement.
Maybe that might be the biggest announcement of Celebration is
the next full on series and when does it come out?
And I'm hoping it comes out maybe holiday time, Christmas
time or early next year, but we'll find out. They're
(38:51):
actually the possibility, of course, we could get two serious
developed or two series announced. There is the rumor that
has been flown out there about the Ronan care Or
from Vision season one that was going to get like
an eight episode run of its own series, and so
that would be a full animated series, but it would
be in term in tone with some of the other
like Invincible has eight episodes. It could be something to
(39:13):
that effect where that gets its own run, and maybe
that is the full on action series we're getting. If
we're just getting Tells the Other World and we're getting
a rod in animation department is going to go into
its own completely different connectivity and kind of sliding away
from everything else as far as what it's doing storytelling.
Why would I be disappointed by that? Maybe a little,
(39:34):
because you all know how much I love connectivity. I
love the road in short and I would actually love
to see a full on road in series that would
make you make me very happy to see. But I'm
kind of hoping it's in addition to a mainline story.
That's what I want, a mainline story more than anything,
but everything else would be great frosting if so. I
(39:54):
smather panel's got to be expanding Star Wars galaxy through
plastic models, influence of Jap These plastic mammals on Star
Wars kid bashing, that's kind of cool. Doug Chang designed
the world of Skeleton Crew. You afore mentioned Doug Chang,
the production designer and Senior vice president executive design director.
He's going to have a big hour long talk about
designing everything that had to do with Skeleton Crew, which
(40:15):
is a well received series, one of my favorite series
of the recent era. I had a lot of fun
with it. I'd love to see this panel, hoping this
could stream somewhere Doug Chang is always fun to listen
to and to see how things developed and what was
alternative takes and what wasn't used and what was used
and what was used from previous things. A lot of
times they take unused designs from previous Star Wars films
(40:37):
and shows and they make them work in different shows.
It's always fun. Now we're on Saturday Saturday's Panels and
Or Star Wars Story ten to eleven. This is the
big one. Obviously, and Or is going to come out
that next Tuesday, right after Celebration, so to say, Joint
creative and next Day Ocative producer Tony Gilroy, executive producer
Diego Luna and cast for a sneak peek at the
(40:58):
final season of Andor. I have the suspicion I could
be wrong that you're gonna kept at least one episode.
I think they're going to show an episode to the
celebration cast orly celebration panel. Rather might not be in
that same area. They might have to go to different,
different screening era, but I wouldn't be surprised if they
get at least one episode. Would have surprised me a
(41:20):
doll because its right there that they do that a
couple of times they've done that before other shows. I
know Rebels is that I got to watch the first
episodes of Rebels final season back in twenty seventeen, which
was great fun for me. But yes, I wouldn't be
surprised that otherwise, like this panels nice and fine. The
fact that it's coming out like that next week, it's
kind of like, okay, I've done enough like preview for it.
(41:43):
I just want to get to the thing at this point.
You know, give me the thing. But it's to be
cool to hear Tony Getway talk about it and you
talk about it. So hopefully it does get streamed, we
get it released afterwards potentially Obviously you're not going to
release the episode early to everybody, but that is what
it is. Next up, we got Ahsoka at one o'clock.
This will be on the celebration stage stream the Galaxy
in twin sun stages. There's enough time there in between.
(42:05):
Ten to eleven is the and Ors one Ahsoka is
one to two as where we could see I know
I have to bring things over, but I could see
it going like ten to ten forty five and then
ten forty five for like forty five minutes for the episode,
potentially just thrown it out there anyway, SOCA live in
the Celebration stage, streamed the Galaxy, and twin sugn stages.
It says, join Dave Filonian special guests. So we look
(42:26):
back at the first season of Ahsoka. Okay. Now, on
the surface, that doesn't sound like we're gonna get much
of news. However, we know that SOCA is actually starting
production right around this time. Actually, I was wondering if
they're actually gonna be there. It might be filming either
right before or right after start production, so TiO was
(42:49):
pretty much going. So I would now if there's no
news about season two, I would be shocked. I think
we might get some casting news. I think we might
get some timeline news potentially, And I don't know. They
wouldn't have worked together enough to get any It's never
gonna be a teaser or a trailer depending on when
they started filming, and I don't know exactly the day
(43:09):
they could kept together and do a quick sizzle reel
talking about it. But I think we get something. I
think we get nice, something nice teased there as well.
Potentially next time. Doug Chang's Masterclass Working in the Star
Wars Art department, an in depth conversation about the Star
Wars Art department at working in the film industry. A
little bit of Q and A in there as well. Yeah,
that's kind of cool. Dave Shang and Doug Chang is
(43:30):
A is a great resource and so if you're going
to celebration, that's a great panet to go to. Stars
of Star Wars are on the Galaxy Change. Vanessa Marshall
hosts the conversation with Matt Nicholson, Manages Sinto, and Sam Whitwer.
That's gonna be a fun crew. Sam, we were always
as great stuff to talk about when it comes to
Star Wars. Manages Sinto as the Stranger, has a lot
of great interviews. I'd love to see more about him
(43:53):
his time on the Accolade. Madge is there, How could
he not? Like Matt Nicholson, who is one of those
guys you want to appear with rings a bit Reactor
developer panel, feature respunder or two minut Lucasfilm Games. This
is the bit reaction game that has been announced and
they've talked about it. This is gonna be a first
look at that game. Imagine my varia there Coslay Showcase.
(44:13):
All right, Sunday, April twentieth, I'm skipping over some of
the not like the Cosplay Showcase. Some of the less
actual panels and more fun times to have for the
panel are for the celebration guests. All right, first look,
Star Wars Visions Volume three. This could be a big panel.
This could be. It's one of the big reasons through
in Japan. I think they're gonna really hit Visions out
of the connectivity to obviously anime, and volume three is
(44:36):
returning to Japan Japanese animation, so just being the worldwide
that Season two was, this says celebrate the first two
volumes of Star Wars Visions and the am anthologies anticipated
return to anime. Here are from new and returning studios
as they share a sneak peak of their Volume three shorts.
So I bet we're gonna get a trailer here too
as well. And I think this trailer will be public
because it is set to go out. Visions is supposed
(44:59):
to becoming in the end of summer, I believe. So
we're gonna get business season three this year. I would
be surprised if we get some footage from that. I'm
excited about that because Visions has always been kind of
a fun, fun anthology series, getting all sorts of different
kind of stylized looks at the at an animated Star
Wars universe is expanding out. Like I said, the rumored
Ronan and conversation, that might be where we hear this
(45:20):
or maybe the Ronan episodes we'll be talking about here.
Maybe that's gonna be Star Wars Visions season four is
gonna be the Ronan shot. Maybe that could be what's
announced here. I don't know, a lot of different possibilities there.
It's definitely one to keep an eye on. I'm excited
to see this one, all right. Got built in the
galaxy with Walt Disney Imagineering. Walt Disney Imagineering has an
instant discussion how Star Wars comes to life at the
(45:40):
Disney experiences around the world. That could be the stuff
was talking about Jim Cummings, the galaxies, Galaxy's Edge and more,
Hondo and Naka there, that's where Behinda Watched could come
into the life for sure. Twelve to one Island presents
the Mandalorian and Beyond and Beyond behind the scenes of
the Mandalorian. The book and Boba Fett, Asoka and more
get to see step behind the scenes of those shows
(46:03):
and more as we explain explore how ILM captured the
nostalgic Chartment and during appeal of the original Star Wars
films while pushing the boundaries of modern visual effects. Always
kind of a cool PANELTS see one of the ones
I like to stream eventually as well. On the Twins
signe of Stage, the Feed Family, Samira Morrison and Daniel
Logan get to discuss their adventures portraying the iconic bounty
hunter Jango and Boba Fett. And Yeah, that should be
(46:26):
a fun one as well. I don't know if tamor
Murt Morrison has got anything upcoming. He kind of always
is in the new Yes, potentially being attached to a
project or not being attached to a project, or wanting
to be attached to a project. Be interesting to see
these two have a conversation. I don't think we'll get
any news there. I think it'll just be fun conversation
for sure though. One to two o'clock on Sunday, the
(46:48):
Heroic Sidekicks of Star Wars Anthony Daniels, i'm ed Best
and Alan tudic c Threpo, jar Jar and k Twoso
take the stage or behind the scenes. Look at their
performances as the heroic sidekicks of the Galaxy Far Far Away.
That should be a lot of fun. Anthony Daniels is
always hilarious and a winnerful convention speaker. I'm in best
Alan Tu Dick. They're also both very good speakers and
(47:10):
they have a lot of fun stories to talk about.
That should be a really really interesting panel to say.
Next up, fifty years of Magic, celebrating the legacy of
industrial light and magic. I'm a mental milestone. Fifty years
of ground baking, visual effects, artistry, production mastery, and technological innovation.
Panel you're gonna hear from long time aland veterans. They
take you on a journey through the company's legendary achievements.
(47:31):
That should be fun. There's more screenings and of course
finally the celebration Japan closing ceremony. That's the big panel discussion, guys,
that's the big panel. News. What are your thoughts on it?
What do you think we're gonna say? Do you think
we're gonna get more news less news? I'm trying to
height myself as far as news Goes. I think we
are starting to lean more towards a celebration that's celebrating
(47:54):
instead of a news dropping con But I do think
we're gonna get some sweet tidbits. I said, I think
we do get a teaser for Mandelearn and Gurger. I
think we do get teaser or a trailer for Star
Wars Visions. We might get some symbols from SOCA season two.
And I'm hoping for the announcement of both the full
on animation series or two animation series that are in
(48:17):
development etentially. And also I'm hoping to get some kind
of big publishing initiative discussions. Not as far as when
I got to rate those as a part of the
possibility Mandelearn and group or teaser the odds on or
that I think there's a seventy five percent chance or
there's a surreal or teaser of some gun. Actually, I
would say the ninety five percent chance of something at
(48:40):
the convention itself. As far as whether it's PUBLICA Goes,
I'm gonna say fifty to fifty on whether we get
to see it or not, hoping it's on the upper
side of that. Let's see what else side did I
say the visions trailer, I think that's a ninety well there,
just sad they're gonna show footage of the shorts. Whether
we get an actual trailer, I think we probably will,
and that's I think that's ninety five percent again at
(49:00):
the con. Whether we get a publicly, I think it's
about seventy five percent chance that it comes out publicly
near the con, whether or not be immediately might take
a couple of days or something of that effect. Ahsoka
bits and bobs, I'm gonna say twenty five percent anything
footage or production design stuff. No footage, probably maybe a
(49:23):
cast saying hi on maybe something on the set and
saying Hi, that kind of thing. Maybe get some Dave
doodles as you licensed too to those production design kind
of doodles. We could get that news bits. I think
we get there. I think we get a little bit
of a news bits for ah Soca season two. Animation wise,
I think I'm still confident and hopeful, and I'm going
(49:44):
to say seventy five percent. We get announcement for a
Star Wars series, a new series beyond Tales of the Underworld.
I think there's a twenty five to thirty percent chance
about a ron In series announcement not as high as
far as it's going to have happen. If it happens,
I'll love to see there as far as that goes
(50:06):
publishing wise, Like I said before, I think I think
it's probably twenty five percent chance of a big initiative
being announced. More that we're going to get some bits
and bobs and it's gonna be a bridge year until
we get a new big initiative, which wulf I start
again in maybe twenty twenty seven. Maybe we wakee an
announcement about it, and that then isn't gonna start until
twenty twenty seven. Maybe that's the idea we'll find out.
(50:27):
So all right, that's going to do it for us today, folks.
That's that's the end of the show. Thank you so
much for sticking through with me and only me solo.
We're goin that like to describe all that jazz, like
I said before, and stay tuned for the channel had
the notification bell and all those kind of things, and
you can know what. I'm gonna have my next video up.
As far as Holy Snows goes, I have a lot
(50:47):
of other stuff I do review, I go do a
podcast about Va, the nineteen eighty sci fi classic, also
the two thousand and nine reboot which is not as classic.
But I'm a completed so I'm going through it. I
have my two million jeeks on film, but PJ. Campbell,
wonderful time we have. We are going through the Superman
films right now. We're gonna be doing Superman three next week.
We're also doing on Patreon exclusive to the MCU rewatch.
(51:09):
We just recorded our thor episode and that's gonna take
a little bit of a pause as we get into
Doctor Who. The Big Blue Box is gonna return for
the eight episode run that's gonna start on Saturday. Our
show will be on the Mondays. After that we will
