Speaker 1 (00:10):
P l D Project presents Holy Snokes, a Star Wars
podcast featuring p l D and Maddie Gunner.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
You May the Force be with you always.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
What's up, everybody, Welcome back to Holy Snokes, Hey star
Wars podcast here on the Pod Products Network. I am
PLD with you as always, Maddie Gunn or my friend,
how are you doing today?
Speaker 4 (00:49):
A gun three? Watch has rewatching watch has this is?
This is good. I've been looking forward to us doing
this great ever since we started talking about, you know,
what we're going to do in the build up to
and Or, I was like, we didn't actually cover and Or,
other than the conversation that we had with our good
friend Adam with the podcast, which was I don't even
(01:13):
think we were out at the time. Yeah, I think
it was. I think we were still scoundrel with the
fourth before you sold the name might have been smiling
for a smile and a back roupe. Kevin Smetz in
a bar be fair.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
It was Kevin smets and Seawan Soloden and I think
brand Handon might have been looking in the background somewhere.
So okay, so you around some point too, you you
were shaken down. I was I was definitely shaken down.
It doesn't take much of it doesn't take what to
shake me down, like you applied me with whiskey. I'm
a pretty willing participant, so.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
I'm good. I'm still getting over the trauma of the
first two episodes of Dead that were born again.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Oh yeah, that was that, right.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
I came out this week.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
I got to watch it. I was excited about that.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
Ben and Morehead, who are phenomenal directors, phenomenal directors, and
I love their work. And of course they also did
Lokey season two. It's funny I watched the first two.
Pja is just watching them now our front show. And
you know, my fellow middle aged geek, PJ. Campbell's just
finally watching after he watched aired double season three.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
He had to watch. He had the hawkeye again.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
He watched Echo finally the first time, getting into it
and that we both noted. How like we know that
Bench and Moorehead took over like after like the first
go at it when it was somebody else that was
showining it. And there's not a lot of Bench and
the Morehead in the first couple episodes because they had
to take over and use a lot of stuff that
was where he shot. But man, they really focused it
and tightened it up, and I'm yeah, I'm traumatized already.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
I hated it at the very beginning.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
I hate it.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
I know spoilers.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
I hated it, but I like even it's funny because,
like they said, its had an interview Bnzeon Morri said, look,
this happened, we didn't this wasn't us, this was this
has happened before we got here, so time the bus,
so we have nothing to do with it. But they
had to keep keep it in there for the story,
for which, as I guess, but yeah, it was.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
It was great.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
It's great to have dar double back.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
So Born Again is my favorite comic book ground of
all time. It is my absolute favorite. There's some stuff
that happens to Karen in the book that I don't
think they'd be able to show even on an R
rated series because it is still Disney, right. I think
(03:25):
that they did this to Foggy to kind of supplement that,
and I fucking hate it it being done in like
the first fifteen minutes, right. I hate it in a
good way, right right, right, I hate it in a
good way that I'm just like you motherfuck because like
everyone campaign for the three to be reunited, right right
(03:49):
right spoiler alerts, Foggy gets murdered by Bull's Eye in
the first fifteen minutes of the fucking episode, and I
do I knew it was going to happen, because it
was as soon as I saw that shot from Matt's
perspective when he's talking to Karen and he's like, you know,
it goes outside and it's kind of like a almost
(04:09):
like a Dolly Zoo kind of a shot. And I
goes outside and you it signed his animal what Foggy's saying.
I was like, oh no, they said there's something tragic coming.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
I know.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Oh God. But the whole the whole Way fight scene.
They never go wrong with the Whole Way fight scene
and that Nope.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
They did a great job with that. Again, it was visceral,
it was violent. It was a bloody dance. As I
would say, twenty knives to the chest.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
He must have been wearing like some kind of super
kevloves took twenty knives to the jest.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
The funny thing about what you said is that like
I I had it, I saw it, I watched it happen,
you know, spoiler. You spoiler Strolier and put a spoiler
on the show notes now for sure, hopefully, But I
it was surprising to me when how quickly it happened.
But then I just barely had gotten over it and
they put something on Twitter or ever, like how he's
(05:00):
coming back Eldon the actors back in season two, so
I don't know, flashbacks or something probably or something like that,
but I'm glad we're gonna get more of him, even
if he's no.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
Longer with the with us and the Dynasyne was awesome. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
that was great. That was like Gino and the narrow
and level awesome.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Not sure I quite put it at that level, but
it's in the ballpark. I put it in the ballpark.
I don't think you can beat Daniro.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
And you know where there's like and we will get
on the Star Wars like me and Paul haven't had
a chance to talk about that we're going to use
this time. You know how there's characters that are just
like born to play certain people. Yeah, Robert Downe and Jr.
Was born to be Tony Stark, Vincent and off Thro
All due respect to Michael Clark, Duncan he was born
(05:51):
to play Wilson Fisk.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's pretty closed. He'd be up there
at my top five. I think the only ones Robert
down Jr. Is Tony Stark. Uh John Bernthal is upon
Asher Oh god, yeah. JK Simmons, j K Simmons as
J Jon and Jamison.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
Eventually Harrison Ford is Indie.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Harris is Indie just on comic book click adaptations, though
those are probably the huge Wolverine. Uh yeah, I put
up there.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
I put I Do not for you over him.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
No, as far as because for pure physicality's sake, because
he was a little taller than you know Logan is,
but personality wise worked very well, uh for sure. Uh yeah,
definitely up there. I can't think of any more that
I would put over over him per se. So yeah,
Chris Sevens is up there as Cap maybe maybe yeah, yeah,
(06:44):
he he he had earned I feel like I feel
like a lot of them, like Jhen J.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Simmons came out of j JO and Jaminson was like boom,
there's j K. There's j J. Jamison.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Evans over time now become Cap. Maybe so it might
be hindsighted for me in that way, but Chris.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
Is to me, is still a dude from no another
team movie. Nice, Nice.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
I feel bad for her. Sevens is like he's I shouldn't.
How can I feel bad for guys worth a billion dollars?
Not probably anything, So I don't feel bad. It looks
like the way he looks and looks like he is
he that is America's ass for sure, But it feels
like he some aloneys gets a little short shifted up someone.
Because he has some really awesome performances, like and movies
like Sunshine and snow Piercer like acting performances. Why I
(07:28):
don't think he he gets like the respectation yet, because like,
stop doing movies with the Rock and he might get it.
That's that's true, you know what, though, he also has
earned me able to do if he wants to have
fun with the Rock, because I've heard that, you know,
maybe he had he had a blast with the Rock
on there, and hey, if that's what you wanted to do, that's.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
What we want to do. I have no problem with that.
It's like everyone around the Rock can act really well.
Other than the Rock. I'm gonna I want to shoot back.
The Rock has had some good performances in his career.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
When he did, he was not playing himself. But I'm
saying he can do it. He's just had a last
be cool. When he was going to be cool, he
had that smaller supporting role. He was good in that.
His first couple I wrote, like walking tall, he was
actually pretty good overall. And he's actually he's doing if
you look at the Rocks future filmography, he is taking
(08:20):
a little bit more of the acting ruties, like take
his level of more seriously. At this point, I'm very curious.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
To see how it goes. I think he can do it.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
I just think he has so much fun being himself
and like being the action star that like that's just
as dominated the last decade or so. I think he
can do it. I think we can see a big
comeback from him. I'm not saying he's going to be
like an Oscar Academy Award nominated actor or anything like that,
but I think he has some good performances in him,
and we'll have to say how to say how goes
for sure. Regardless, we're not here to talk about the Rock.
(08:49):
I heard talking about Daredevil. I heard to talk about
Marvel well kind of actually a little bit about Marvel
but that we'll get there.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
About Star Wars.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
We are here to talk about upcoming season of and
or some news and some quotes, all that stuff before
we get into the recap vendor, which is how we
began the conversation. Matty excited that we're doing the recap
or the art start of the rewatch. I'm also say
we grew in the rewatch as someone when I was
a younger man. I know, I'm starting to sound with
my parents now. When I was a younger man, I
(09:18):
was a young boy, I used to rewatch things all
the time. I'm a guy who went to see the
Crow like fifty forty or fifty times in the theater.
Every time a Star Wars movid come out. I would
see time. I know, I would see Star Wars like
ten or times. Like you I had been like twenty
would and or come out. I would have watched this
series back probably about twenty times by now, probably you
(09:40):
would take but as an older man, I don't know
if it's I don't know if it's about me, like
facing mortality or realizing there's only a limited abount of
time I have on this earth. I just find like
I always probably like I can rewatch something, but I
have so much I want to watch that I want
to get through that I haven't watched, so I just
don't rewatch that unless it's like a comfort show like
a Doctor Who or like ted Lasso, which is kind
(10:01):
of like that I can put on the background fall
Steve took the if I need to and just kind
of like, uh, don't worry about it, and or it's
not a comfort watch. It's never gonna be a comfort
watch for sure. But I decided the way I do
rewatch things now. The only time I generally rewatch things
are for podcasts. Uh B and PJ doing too millig
gigs on film. I got to watch them right ELM
Street again because I got to do it for the podcast.
(10:21):
I'm about to watch the Superman franchise again. I probably
wouldn't be doing that on my own, even though I
should help PG and add a conversation. I really really
should have rewatched Aaredevil season three, at the very least
before I went to watch it, as I feel like
it continued directly on I got left. I i could,
but it definitely felt like what I was watching.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
I really should have gone back to lead. You knew
what happened at the end of it. You didn't need to, but.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
It would have been nice to have done it, like
in a way I've got I would have been nice
to have done it. Like so I kind of again Superman,
James Gun coming out. I kind of want to watch
the Superman movies again. Now I'm forcing myself to my
covering podcast. This way I would. I'm glad that Kim
it's always pitching me to rewatch up, fourth team to
come out. Oh, we can always watch a recap video
and we'll be fine for season two or whatever it is.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
And I usually I usually end that's how I do it.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
Usually kids like we should really watch them, like you
know what, guess what, honey, we're covering and or for
the podcast.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
So come along.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
And so we're both there in the replus together and
I'm really glad we're doing the rewatch because man, I remember,
like I'm I'm gonna leave this mostly to our discussion
later on, but I really I felt I could watch
it in a new way this time through, and it
was very powerful and very fun. Not that I discovered
a whole lot of new things. I was reminded of
a few things, and I realized just how damn good
(11:34):
this show is. And it's definitely hyped up for season
two for sure, and we're doing that this week.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
We're doing first three up.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
We are doing it in four three episode arcs, even
though it's not completely like that for season what it
is like that for season two. It's mostly looked up
for season one. If I remember correctly, I took a
three three episode arc, three episode arc one off three
episode arc that are two part type finale. And that's
the difference we have here. But either way, maybe, yeah,
(12:01):
either way, it should be a fun experience for sure.
But let's get into it. Let's get into our news first. Obviously,
on the top of our head, I don't cover our
news bets that we have some big news that came out,
a couple of really big piece of news among some
smaller fun tidbits.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
First news is gonna be a little small, fun tidbit.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
I like to throw these little mini reviews out there
when they I get a chance to read new things. Uh,
the Hyperspace story Qui Gon came out, uh this week
or this week? Yeah, this week, And also Jedi nine
number one came out for Marvel Comics and they're both
solid reads. My one nippick I will say about Hyperspace
Qua gon Jin's one is that.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
The art is very I'm.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Not gonna put this basic like there's not a lot
of detail to it. It's like it's almost like they
rush through a first draft and like let it go.
Like like it's like, just like the faces don't look
very like sometimes their faces it looks like Deescent and
new McGregor. It does not really look like them very
much at all. Sometimes there's some times where it's really off.
But the story itself is kind of cool. Get to
(13:09):
see Qui Gon No. I don't know no spoilers for this,
so we've sure a lot of you haven't that chance
to read it.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
Yet, but it does have bits and peace.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
It's one of those stories that, like the main mission
that's going on, and during that mission, Qui gon is
telling stories of the past kind of thing a little
bit too right, and so we get like a Qui
Gon named Dooku story. Part of it Qui gon and
earlier on and I also includes a surprise surprise that
say look into the Brotherhood of the Ninth or from
the High Republic make a kind of appearance in a
little roundabout kind.
Speaker 4 (13:37):
Of way, which is really kind of cool.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
I like seeing that connectivity, as you know, because I'm
still in the highigher of public readthrough during my kid
and readthrough. By the way, I am in the Falling
Star about seventy percent through a Falling Star. I will
say right now this is my first reread a Falling Star.
This is my favorite higher public book. I think I
really love this book. I really have a lot of
fun with that. Yeah, it's the.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
Disasters aspect of it.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
It's like the Diehard aspect, not diehard really more like
Armor gedding, I guess kind of aspect that It's just
like this ship is happening and they got to figure
it out. It's got some great story beats from Elzar
in there with who I Love, I love elser Man,
I got my boy Leaks, Kiosi and Geode in there. Uh,
a lot of fun to be had a lot of this.
(14:22):
This actually felt the most like Steak Star Wars wise,
maybe like the Jedi. Probably the introduction had a big one.
But in then I can't wait to get that. I'm
excited now. I'm definitely for for sure, I said, But
so far I'm reread, noting that I haven't read a
lick of Phase three yet. This is my favorite one
so far, for sure.
Speaker 5 (14:43):
But yeah, so I lovely you're you're you're doing this
while I'm like ahead of you, so like I'm discovering,
like I'm watching you discover this stuff in real time,
and I'm just like, oh, buddy, you have no idea
what's to come.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
I know, I know, I'm excited about it.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
I'm glad.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
I'm actually glad though, speaking of rewatches and rereads that,
Like I remember I told you before I read Phase
two or Phase one when it came out, I reread
Phase two or I read Phase two, and then when
I was reading Phase two, I decided just to keep
going through and read Phase one again chronologically before I
got to phase three to kind of remind myself. I'm
really glad I did, because I wasn't the hugest fan
(15:19):
of Phase two. Maybe to reread later on, I'll do
that for me, maybe, But I just didn't connect with
a lot of the characters from Phase two. Phase one
is where like all my characters I know, I like,
and I know the way they were kind of doing
the whole Lucas thing of like we're gonna start with
this part here, that they're gonna go back and the
we're gonna tell But at the same time, it's like
I didn't love the fact we went all the way
(15:40):
through Phase one. I then went back and like all
these new characters with like very little connection to it,
and it's like, well, what am I why? I don't like,
I wonder what happened to these.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
Guys right now? I don't. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
Hey, I think the difference is like when Lucas did it,
he didn't have like he wasn't going to do the
sequel trilogy at one point. It was more like he
had that defittive ending in Return of the Jedi. Return
of the Jedi was like, okay, so now we go back.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
We know how it is.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
I don't know how this ends yet. I want to
know how to end before I go back and textualize.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Things at that point. But that's my bit pick.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
I'm excited to get the Phase three for sure. But
and while I'm here, I am about twenty five percent
of the way through Mask of Fear. Now about thirty
actually thirty percent through Mask of Ifear. I'm loving Mask
of Fear. So far, it is a very fun fun
fun is the wrong word for it. But it's a
really good in depth and I'm loving the most. We're
getting a little bit from Mond, a little bit from Bail,
and a little bit from the sau side of things.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
I'm loving Mons Mafma's parts of the most. I think
I find myself hitting the play at t X speed.
When Iver saw us in the.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
Saw you had the saw one, I'm not loving because
not well, first of all, it's not a lot of
saw at this point for me. It's it's the other
Sojian guys who is a fighting character, but I don't
have a connection yet to him. Maybe I'll grow. I
mean it's gonna grow over the book, I find myself.
I agree kind of like I'd rather skip this and
get to what's Mond doing, what's Bail doing?
Speaker 4 (17:03):
At this point? I love the Mod and Bail.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Relationship is actually pretty interesting at this point, interesting to
see how that's going to develop or whatever.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
So but yeah, I love when the book so far,
I can't wait to see.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
More on that.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
So all right, let's move on to our rest of
our news bits. I have another couple of two quick
fun news bits if you were well. First off, Stephen Knight,
more from Stephen Knight. Now, this is a fluff piece.
I almost didn't put it in there, but you know what,
I decided, I want to put the quote out there
because I want to hear I like it.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
You love the fluff pieces. You love, don't deny you
love the fluff pieces.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
I've been trying to get better at not doing the
fluff pieces too much, but I want to highlight this
because our commitment to.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
Positivity, right you mother fluff.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Steven Knight was working on the obviously he was working
on the new Jedi orderscript. He left and we never
knew why. No, whenever we said anything, why.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
We knew why you had another movie? Who Walk on?
Speaker 3 (17:57):
Well, we didn't know what was going on necessarily as
far is like was he fired? Did they not like
him or did they like him? The discourse, it's always
a discoorse, which is always tiring. So it's good to
get word from him. This quote sounds not like he
is like sometimes you have quotes and they're like kind
of like, yeah, I'm not gonna I know that. There's
a video of I Think with Benniyoff and Weiss and
(18:17):
it was kind of obvious from that video that they
might have been forced out or the like. I think
I don't think it was necessarily their decision to leave.
Speaker 4 (18:24):
I think when Mangold.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
Stepped up to the prequel movie, it was kind of
the same idea that Bennioff and Weiss had been developing.
But like they had a conversation with him one point
somebody asked him about it. They got very close lipped
and very like they didn't want to say anything that
you could kind of tell something went down that maybe
they didn't want to talk about. See what, I was
wide open about it, Okay, he says, yeah, he was.
That's about it, because I mean, it was such a
(18:46):
great experience. And I'm not just saying this. There are
great people. Kathleen Kennedy is a pleasure to work with.
Lucasfilm are smart people who know their craft, and for me,
it's like a particular discipline in the world of writing
in film. This world, you enter the world, you do
your bet, you do your take is new the process
and then moves on. So I don't know what that
writing I've semen is going to end up in whatever
the next incarnation of that movie is.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
It's great just to be there and be a part
of it. That's it, nothing more, nothing less. It's a
happy thing. He liked.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
Wer Than Kastain Kennedy, he praises lucasfilm and it sounded
like genuine praise. He didn't have to say it that.
He could have just said, like, I had a good time
on it. I don't know what's going on, but no,
he pointed out specifically Kathleen Kennedy pleasure to work with Lucasfilms.
Smart people know their craft. Doesn't sound something you'd say
if you had like an issue with how they're handling
your work. And I think that's a good thing to
(19:34):
know that they're treating Lucas home, treating their executive earlier
creator as well. They're gonna want to come back and
do more, or other people want to come and do more.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
I think that's why I take away from it. Okay,
you have any desay, No, you're like that. Okay, he's
not writing on the movie anymore. I don't care what
he has to say blind this movie in front of
my face. I already the funk up. Okay, that's why
that's why he left the project, because he had his
(20:03):
baby to make like Peaky Blind is his right child,
love child, Like absolutely, get that in front of my face.
Like if they don't use anything he wrote, fine, he's
not the writer on the movie anymore. Who cares? Like
It's like when it's like when nine to eleven happened
and they end on the news, they were like, oh,
let's cool in jar rule, Like it's like that what
(20:25):
Chappelle said, This is like who gives the fuck with
y'all rule things at a time like this, right right,
right right?
Speaker 3 (20:30):
I get that that's that's a fairly but I get
on like i'd say, I don't. It's not that it's important,
but I think it's a nice little it's a nice
little look into the process.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
Do you remember when that happened? I do remember that.
But the came they pulled jar roll up on the news.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
I do remember that. I do remember that. That was ridiculous. Okay,
a little bit of news. This is kind of another
fun one. This is more of a what could be speculation,
but it's along as lines of the story as you
hate of course, like to work on Star Wars.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
But this guy Osgod.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
Perkins, son of Anthony Perkins and director of such fine
horror establishments as Long Legs and The Monkey, which, by
the way, if you haven't seen The.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
Monkey yet, due to see it in next Friday. I
think it is. I love Long Legs. It was very good.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
It is a last is unhinged, brilliant fun. It is
just so you know, it's it's more comedy horror than
like Long Lench comedy horror. But it's fun. It's unhinged,
and I loved it. It's my favorite movie year I
think so far. I thought it was like scary movie,
(21:39):
not like quite parody, not quite parody level, more like
like a scream level of like it's got like there's
serious aspects to it, but just also way over the
top times that like it's but it's fun.
Speaker 4 (21:50):
It's a lot of fun. I saw someone saying it's
like the most goryous horror film in the last ten
years or something.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
It's definitely gory. It's definitely a lot gorier than most horror.
I honestly, I still have not seen Terrifier.
Speaker 4 (22:06):
Shocking.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
I know that of any of the terrifiers, I have
not seen any Terrifiers. I know it's surprising, right, I
know it.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
Terrifier I might.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
At some point. You never know, we could do that
at some point, so much in our docut already.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
But yeah, but anyway, back to this particular story, this
was actually a better thing because it wasn't He wasn't
asked whether he wanted to work in Star Wars. He's
asked the question. The question was, is there a story
that you wish you had the budget and technology to
make into a movie? And Perkins replied simply on this
Reddit q and A, the collected Dreams and Nightmares of
(22:42):
Darth Vader as told by short.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
Stories cool like an anthology piece.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Right, And when I heard that, I'm like, I love
Osgode Perkins. That sounds like everyday there's only a picture
why I want a Dart's Vader movie. I'm like, we've
had six Dark if we don't need a Dark Vader.
But we really don't, uh, I know, they just want
Darth Vader and around hunting Jedi and a TV show.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
They want Darth Vader hunting down to We don't need that.
Speaker 3 (23:08):
But this is a pitch of a Darth Vader movie
slash story that I could actually get behind. It's actually
kind of a cool way to tackle it. That wouldn't
be just Okay, Dartha's gonna be a bad ass, so
he's gonna go slice some Jedi that made it through
orders extally six. This is actually kind of a cool,
like artistic way to deal delve into it. Kind of
reminded me a lot of the The Vader runs of
(23:29):
the combooks we've had Away just put as an anthology
peech to put like little pieces and snippets and things
you could have, like I mean, think about the potential
of that. You could have like returning cast. You could
have nightmares including a human Gretor could have night mariges
with Luke. You could have a lot of different things
you can do. It's probably never gonna happen because I'll think, read.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
The comics, because we've had that. Oh yeah, I would
love to see him him going to the Bood to
visit Pad is great, right, yea again, and that's kind
of cool.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
It would be cool to see that on screen.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
Definitely. Sure he kills water at one point. That hasn't
happened yet, I don't think, but it's that what's talking
about One of the comics, he goes to Tatoween and
he kills Water that's gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
That's in the Legacy of Vader book they're gonna talk about.
I guess that's that was thrown out there, that like
when Kylo visits that he finds out that Vader.
Speaker 4 (24:19):
Did this kind of thing.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
I just I think it would be a cortistic way
to do it. And os Perkins is a great director
that I've seen, so it'd be fun to have that
eventually tackled. I don't think it's gonna happen, but I
was pete I was interested in that would be kind
of cool.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
So if there's going to be a Star Wars horror
Joseph scripture and he needs to direct it.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
Well that would be good too. I mean, is also
awesome versus as well. But I think you would say
that jos Perkins is a private director would be good too.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
So it has to be just right.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
So let's be honest.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
I mean, how much I love jose Smshaw, Perkins is
probably closer to making it happen and just scrim show
at this point in his career. I don't know, you
don't know, has made several feature films and Judge Risk
who's made some wonderful films like it. Disney's gonna Justney
doesn't know, Judge just know who's a good crickets.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
He can he asked, it's him. He's the one. He's
the chosen. You are interested in your I support my friends,
and then I think, I think not supporting them.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
I love that. I'm just saying, but I think even Joseph.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
Then we need we need to put out there in
the universe. Actually, he's the one that's gonna do it,
and it will happen. We manifested, it will happen. Hey,
hopefully it does. Hopefully we get a cameo.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
Yeah, I wouldn't because obviously not supporting him. Now, I
guess so no, terrible friend, terrible friend.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
Friend.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
I'd love to say that we can have Why not both?
Speaker 4 (25:57):
Why not both? There you go, there you go. I'll
do with that all right.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
Next up, I have to eat some crow potentially, Yes
you do, and I'm gonna sit back and enjoy my admit. Right,
I believe you were right. It's still not over. It's
not over yet, but there's some conspiracy that I have here.
They did announce four major panels with advanced reservations, which
(26:26):
are placed in the lottery system in Japan for Star
Wars Celebration. Now, my gut, which doesn't fail me very often,
kind of going to fail me here because I thought,
with all the Kathleen Kennedy talk, with nothing having been
announced past Manlar and Grogu, and so because season two,
that we would get a lot of news bits here.
(26:48):
I was thinking with a big panel, they we would
finally get the announcement of Seawan Levy, they would finally
get the announcement of different different potential projects were going on.
But according to the panels that are I assume the
biggest panels we are going to get because of the
ones of the reservations. Only that's gonna happen because we
have four major panels. On Friday, there's going to be
(27:09):
the Mandalorid and Gurbu panel. Knew that was gonna happen.
I am still of the assumption and this I don't trust.
I got any more about Celebration, so I don't know anymore.
I kind of feel like the public might even get
a teaser out of that.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
Oh I didn't go. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
I think you guys in Celebration will absolutely get a
trailer footage. They're gonna do a big deal with that.
Well the public gets I don't know, but I kind
of feel like public cold at least get the first teaser,
That's what I think. But big panel with Mandon and
Grogurug going to talk about all the casting news there.
Speaker 4 (27:39):
I'm sure that's gonna be a big thing. I might
we might see a bunch of the cast show up.
Speaker 3 (27:43):
That's gonna be a lot of stuff, because that's why
they're pushing it when they're really pushing for the for
the following year, especially since there won't be a celebration
in twenty twenty six. I don't believe they're doing like
every other year now, probably gonna be twenty seven for
the fiftieth. I know they're gonna have a celebration for
the fiftieth. That that's my gut telleron But that's not
that wrong think. But uh, on Saturday, we have a
panel for and Or, which I have a feeling that's
(28:06):
where you're gonna see the first episode. At least I
think they're gonna show it because in Tokyo, I'll watch
you want to ask, oh, I know, I know, I
know you won't.
Speaker 4 (28:14):
I know you'll do it that way. I have just
I have decided that I thought by it, and like,
because some people are like, oh if they show that,
I've had some people in like various quick, like we
should do we should all go in together, and I'm
just like, I'm in Tokyo, man, I'm not. I don't
want to spend my time in Tokyo watching a TV series.
I'm sorry. It would be cool to see it early
and be cool to watch it with my friends, but like,
(28:35):
when am I ever going to get to go to
Japan again? I got it, I got it a long time.
I get it.
Speaker 3 (28:39):
That's where you and I are different those I'm not
a traveler, so I'd be like, sure, I'll take the
end or then over Japan, And that's me.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
I'm diot that way, I know.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
And I White Fries get me to travel all the time,
and I fight around. It's I'm not a big traveler.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
I'm more of a reference.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
But yeah, but I feel like that's gonna be another
big panel they'll show the episode, probably get some good
in your used, but I don't think a whole lot
of news is gonna come out of that. Less less
or something else going on in the Rogue Wind spin
off or and or spin off or something.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
That we don't know about. I don't think anything's gonna
happen there about the next week.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
Uh Saturday, another Saturday panel which is probably gonna be
our biggest news piece, and that's gonna be the Ahsoka
panel for season two. Obviously they I don't believe they have.
They would have started filming yet. I think they started
filming right after that or right around that time. Yeah,
(29:33):
that's that's this is weird.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
So I don't you know.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
I mean, I gotta assume that if they're gonna have
a panel, that you're gonna have some guests. So I'm
going to guess they're.
Speaker 4 (29:39):
Gonna start probably film right, they'll probably fly from Maybe
I'll be on the same flight, isn't that could be?
Speaker 3 (29:45):
You absolutely could be, but you saw that way. You're
probably not gonna You're not gonna get any footage. You
might get cast announcements, might get maybe some previous Dave
Feloni artwork kind of thing. Potentially, I would be surprised
if the cast shows up. If you get like the
cast a little bit, maybe you know Rosario will be
there and Rory will be there to talk about.
Speaker 4 (30:09):
Going to be the Hayden's already and be there.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
This could be the place where we get the confirmation
about more of the flashbacks. Like the biggest piece of
news would be like if if Natalie Portman shows up
and they confirm that season in season two and you,
if you and shows up, He's and he and you
and you and chose up in Clone Wars armor.
Speaker 4 (30:26):
I think he is going.
Speaker 3 (30:27):
I think he Wan's a guest right well, I'm saying
maybe he shows up in Clone Wars armor. That would
be the big lay actually wearing the armor.
Speaker 4 (30:32):
Kind of thing.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
I could see him Jason like that. But I think
that's like the biggest news.
Speaker 4 (30:37):
We're going to get.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
I think at that point, as far as it goes
and Sunday is I'm surprised.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
I'm almost surprised, but.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
Not now that I thought about it. That first look
Star Wars Visions Volume three is getting a reservation panel.
Speaker 4 (30:52):
But it is Sunday Sundays. I'm not going. I'm not
going the Sunday because the last two ones that I've
been to Sundays always been how you say, fooring, mm hmm.
It's very much like everywhere. It's like the last day
of summer camp. Like everyone knows they're going home, so
we're just like all trying to like hang out as
(31:12):
much as we can. So I'm gonna be using that day.
I think that day I'm going to the Tokyo Imperial Palace.
I think that's gonna be my day to do the
not in like the bustling parts of Tokyo, like Akbara,
Like that's the kind of like I want to just
have a nice show Sunday, go to the palace, see
the shrines, all that kind of stuff. I'll let everyone else,
(31:36):
you know, sleep off their hangovers, and I'm gonna I
think Sunday is gonna be my day to explore.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
Awesome we're gonna get but it's Visions makes sense to
the Japan obviously Japan. It's just all the animation studios
from Japan, so it's gonna be a big deal in
that count.
Speaker 4 (31:52):
And then Kajima shows up. Then he's just like I'm
directing all of Vision season. Yeah, and you're not gonna
be there because be period palace. I know, I know,
I know where the Conde Productions offices. It'll'll be you
must put the panel. That's okay. If he does Mad so,
(32:13):
but that's I would say, we'll get a trailer.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
Then probably at that point there might be an announcement
of like there's kind of this speculation thrown out there
that there might be a Ronan spin off potentially, Oh
hell yeah, more fun. That would be the place to
do it, because I know the actresses is more. I
know there's a I think there's a Ronan episode coming again.
I would be surprised if they have the the announcement
of the Rodan is getting a full on spin off.
Potentially that might be the next animate that might be
(32:38):
the next animated show, which is.
Speaker 4 (32:42):
Interesting to make. It's interesting to me.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
Well, here's the thing where I love it.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
Yes, but I don't want it if that's the only
animated show we're getting, because I want to see more
in you know, my conectivity.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
I want to see more in the continuity.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
I want to see like whatever we got we had
cooking for massage or with the Omega or something like that.
I mean, I would love to see both, but I
want it to be in addition to I don't want
that to take the place of anything.
Speaker 4 (33:09):
You know what I'm saying now, if you tell me
said that about that happen.
Speaker 3 (33:17):
Yeah, you're not wrong, but I guess, but it's hard
for me. It's not Cannon though, Like I'm a canon guy.
I'm a connectivity guy. And if you have the that
be the only animated show is not a canon show.
And like we have dhing Eels Cannon going on, that's just.
Speaker 4 (33:30):
Like maybe they changed their mind. Maybe they make him
Kennon I could. I guess.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
I guess I've thrown out there. He gets connected to
it that way, it could be kind of cool, but
I want to see both. If you tell me that,
like you got the road in coming, maybe Vision season
three coming, another animated series coming, and then the Roading
comes next year or something to have. Potentially i'd be
all four of that. Let me tell you, let me
I don't as long as there's other stuff coming.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
But I'm happy. I'm more than Maybe the live action it,
that'd be kind of cool. That'll be kind of cool too,
pretty sweet, But news wise, that's all we're gonna get.
Here's my pitch. Live action Roarnin then played by Ken
Wantonab Yeah, I mean here he was in talks, right
(34:21):
he was he?
Speaker 3 (34:22):
No, he's he Basically I was in talks but he
basically came out and said he wanted to play a Jedi,
that's what he didn't come out and say that.
Speaker 6 (34:31):
Thing to it.
Speaker 4 (34:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
Absolutely, But yeah, those are the four big panels, and
I've don't think that any news coming out of that otherwise.
So no Revenge of the Sith panel anniversary panel, which
I thought was gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
With the.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
Smaller one might be announced not a reservation. I'll be
surprised though to know, like, well, I don't know how,
I don't can't remember if just to look back and
see which one's a reservation in the which ones weren't.
But that was the surprise that it wasn't the reservation panel.
The one that is surprised.
Speaker 4 (34:59):
There is no.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
Lucasfilm Live Action showcase, which what they've done almost every time.
That's where I thought, welread to get the Shaw leave
you stuff for Nott.
Speaker 4 (35:07):
Nothing to showcase, a lot of parties in development. I
just have nothing to show, right.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
I guess, And I guess they don't want to make
the mistake of announcing things that aren't going to be
announced at this port gonna happen, So I guess that
might happen that might be the way it is.
Speaker 4 (35:19):
It could be, but also nothing. We have visions.
Speaker 3 (35:24):
But I really thought we were to get the announcement
of more connected like the usage story that was gotten,
but that also could be a different panel that hasn't
been announce yet because they tend they tend to not
make aus a big a deal about the animated show
announcements as as we do.
Speaker 4 (35:38):
The attack of the Clients panel wasn't reservation because I
just woke right in. Okay, very kina high, I did
they when they did the Attack of the Clients.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
Okay, I just want to I mean, I guess I
was thinking up with the fortieth anniversary, which I guess
is the biggest bigger panel anyway when I was when
I went in twenty seventeen in Orlando.
Speaker 4 (35:55):
But okay, but here in.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
My conspiracy theory, inherent conspiracy theory, my uh, speculating very irresponsibly.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
Sorry, I kind of justice. Yes, it's a secret panel, Yes,
because honestly speaking, this is why, this is why.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Look here, I'm gonna go and bring up something. Uh,
this could absolutely be a mistake. Okay, absolutely could be
a mistake, but I want to bring us up on
screen for it This is from the celebration uh website
where they announced this, right, okay, I want to put
(36:33):
this full screen?
Speaker 4 (36:35):
What is that extra dot there? Oh my god, youldie.
Is that a mistake?
Speaker 1 (36:45):
Is that a just a error? Is that a typo?
Speaker 3 (36:49):
Or is that something coming that they just have an
announced yet? Hey, I admit it's it is bad speculation.
Speaker 4 (37:02):
You are call lutching. Maybe I am, Maybe I am,
but I saw that. I'm like, for the fucking life,
I saw that.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
I'm kind of like, why that seems like a bad f.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
For an official site like that, potentially, especially that it
stayed up. It's not like it's like it's up there
for a while now, so like they haven't seen it
in like it's.
Speaker 4 (37:27):
So I don't know. Maybe there's one.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
There's two panels on Saturday, one on Sunday. I might
be another panel on Friday. We don't know about yet,
just thronging out there. May it'll be announced later on.
Speaker 4 (37:42):
You really would love the metal gist while I found
him because they hold him to ship like that.
Speaker 7 (37:48):
Like could you like, could you move say something? And
they'd be like, oh, he's taking a picture with Timothy Shallomey.
Timothy Shallamy must be in the Death Dratting movie. It's like, no,
he's just taking a picture with Timothy shallow May.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
The only difference is I'm not wholly hot to it.
I just look at it and go it doesn't happen.
It doesn't happen. I'm probably not gonna happen. But like,
you can see where I get it from, though, you
gotta at least a bit. You can see where I
get it from and see that and go, that's interesting.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
I'm not laughing at you, by the way, it's just
it's fun. The thing I was like, Oh, what's it
gonna be? Is it? Give me like someone's found some
piece of web coat that Like, No, it's literally just
a bullet a blank bullet point bullet point.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
Man.
Speaker 4 (38:32):
They're there for a reason. It's TV FILL. Later on
it's TVD. Then why wouldn't they just put TVD.
Speaker 3 (38:40):
Because maybe that's the mistake. I mean, that's the type
of but didn't put TVD.
Speaker 4 (38:45):
Maybe they forgot to put TVD. You would think with
the registrations coming up next week, like.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
Maybe you can half reservation a separate reservation for that one.
Speaker 4 (38:56):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
It's the announcement of line Lucasfield the line I've actually
showcased where the Lycus film all the news that PLD
wanted to hear a celebration, it's the panel.
Speaker 4 (39:06):
It's a pd panel exactly.
Speaker 3 (39:09):
Although I will throw it out there. I know celebration
used to be well, the celebration was around long before
the con news like has happened, and before that it
was literally just a celebration. It wasn't about news breaking. God,
you jumped into that world Comic Con so and that's
where it kind of like everybody was doing all their
(39:29):
breaking music.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
Cons and was that kind of killing? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (39:36):
I do want it back to the kind of thing
that's like everybody kind of getting away from that now.
And maybe maybe Lucas Will did to themselves. And again,
like we said last time when they announced the three projects,
and well they kind of haven't happened yet, and so
maybe that's part of it. They don't want to get
involved in that anymore.
Speaker 4 (39:52):
We know that the game awards every year and it's
become less about the games that have been create and
more about market. Yeah, just a bunch of trailers market
and what's coming out next year? Right?
Speaker 3 (40:08):
I mean, I think there's a happy medium that can
be had, I think, honestly speaking, like when I go,
Like if I saw this in the panel I was
going to Japan. First of all, that'd be my problem too,
because I'm going to Japan. I want to get something
bigger for that wide, that purpose, for that rate. But
if I saw this going to celebration, I'd be happy
with this. I'd love to I would love to tackle
the Ahsoka panel to go the Mando panel panel, i'd
(40:31):
I would love to go the business panel I just
call them.
Speaker 4 (40:33):
Wouldn't be able to go to all of them, so
I don't know which what I'd want to go.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
To most, Probably probably a SOSCA because I think Mando
Grogu is going to come start coming out news whise
sooner than later, where so would be more of the
drip drive we're.
Speaker 4 (40:45):
Going to get later. So I'd like to be there
to see that kind of stuff in person. But I
don't know.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
I'll have to see, but I won't be I'm still
planned to come to twenty twenty seven celebration as long
as it's continental US and or or where if it's
going to be in Cancun, No camp k Kune because
I wouldn't go to celebration.
Speaker 4 (41:04):
I would literally just been a command again. So that's tullou.
All right, let's go.
Speaker 3 (41:11):
We want more big piece of news to come out
this week before we get into Gandor's using one. We
were for Center last week. We covered the rumors from
Puck News that Kathleen Kennedy was retiring or stepping down
from Lucasfilm. Sure enough, after we had our episode dropped,
Deadline came out with an article which was an interview
(41:34):
with Kathleen Kennedy speaking out on just about everything that's
going on. And I want to say a I was
very happy to read everything directly from Kathleen Kennedy's lips
instead of the usual bullshit. I've been kind of pushing
for a long time, or wanting to see a long time,
to have her be a little bit more James Gunnish
(41:57):
that she doesn't have to be. But I like the
fact that when we when something gets out there, some
leaks happens, some whatever happens, it's nice to have the actual,
like horses mount go, this is true, this is bullshit,
and this is what's going on, this is what we're doing.
I just kind of like that directness and approach and
the fans in this day, because this isn't the like,
this is the life and times we're living, and this
(42:18):
isn't the eighties where no one knew anything until the
movie came out. Nowadays we have this discourse that happens.
The discourse can actually hurt the products sometimes, and so
I think the best policy at this point, if this
is going to be the way we're living. We're living
in scoop culture, We're living in stuff that's leaking all
the time. This social media stuff is gonna happen, it's
better to have someone come out and kind of like
(42:38):
parse through it and go okay, honestly, it is the
best policy. You don't have to tell me everything, but
just come out ahead of something and go, well, this
is true. Yeah, we're we are developing this, we have tops.
It didn't work out. It's just nice to here that
I start up having to honestly speculate, because speculation, as
we know, leads to the dark side. Actually, and the
sum especialation leads assumption. Assumption leads to the dark side.
Speaker 4 (43:00):
That's the new Yoda quote. That's paraphrase of that.
Speaker 3 (43:03):
Potentially the other bit of news before we actually get
into the article is that this is very interesting because
it's framed as like a conversation that the reporter Mike
uh called up Caviy she is about to leave the oscar.
Speaker 4 (43:21):
Will the world? Frank and che Frank gore up the car.
We're gonna get ready to go, and I'm just like,
shoot the ship with you for a little bit. No,
this is not what this is.
Speaker 3 (43:28):
It's framed like that, but this is a carefully thlought
out designed conference clarifications. I am talking about everything in
a way that I'm basically having a press release framed
as a conversation.
Speaker 4 (43:44):
Can you agree with that? Do you think? Have you
ever heard of the famous Mark Twain? Yes? Of course,
what was the great Mark Twain quote? The rumors of
my death have been greatly exaggerated?
Speaker 3 (44:01):
Yes, Ish, there's a lot of word play going on here.
There's a lot of word play going on here. Let's
be honest, pretty sure I got this one right too.
Let's we read all the speculator reports that you were
out as a frenzy for the next person who's going
to take over Lucasfilm? What is the truth? And a
lot of the other side of things, the very pro
(44:23):
casting Kennedy. Like, we have the had of Castleen Kennedy,
we have the Zelz defenders of casting Kennedy. I am like,
if there's one on a ten, I'm a guy the
eight level.
Speaker 4 (44:34):
Why are you gonna do either? Let the woman do
a job. No, I get it. I'm saying as far
as like, but I agree, but I agree that this
is what I'm saying. I'm not saying to you. I'm
saying like that was totally agree on both sides. So
Ferson do a fucking job.
Speaker 3 (44:46):
Response is the truth is? And I just want to
say lot and clear, I am not retiring. Okay, let's
say this first of all. Show to choose the words
retiring as the way to attack the information. No one
really cared about whether she was retiring or not. It
was about stepping down from Lucasfilm. That's that was the
(45:09):
main attack of the main hit point of the talk
that she's stepping down from Lucasfilm presidency. And they use
the words retiring from LUCASLM presidency. She chose to use
that word and go, I'm not retiring. I'm gonna make
movies the day I die. That's not what they're talking about,
and she knows it, and you and.
Speaker 4 (45:29):
The wolf wolf shet, I'm not fucking leaving.
Speaker 1 (45:32):
I'm not, but she is leaving, that's the thing.
Speaker 4 (45:36):
No, No, she's not. There's gonna be announcement in a
couple of months or a year.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
So basically the scoop was right.
Speaker 4 (45:42):
Now, that's not what she said. She said there would
be an announcement months to a year out. Make an
announcement months or a year down the road, exactly down
the road, down the road.
Speaker 3 (45:54):
So if you're talking potentially, if you're talking potentially months,
then the inditional report is accurate enough, the India report
is accurate enough that she is going. She is planning
to leave Lucasfilm.
Speaker 4 (46:08):
To me, that says once we found someone, we will
announce months to a year out.
Speaker 3 (46:14):
If you are saying it possibly months, it's possible months.
That means you've already kind of found somebody and you're
grooming them and you're dotting all the eyes and chechnic
the t's, and you want to announce it. You want
to announce it the way you want. There's a quote
later on.
Speaker 4 (46:29):
That you were looking within seems to give credence to
what we've heard. That exactly.
Speaker 3 (46:32):
Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni is in a good position
as he works on Star Wars or write and direct.
I can't say who it is because that's just an
internal process that goes out inside. That means I can't
tell you who we've chosen already because that's an internal process.
Speaker 4 (46:46):
We have to figure they are looking at Maybe they
haven't chosen day yet, maybe maybe they still has to
prove himself.
Speaker 3 (46:53):
I think there's a potential thing about working through things,
But to me, that reads, we know who we want,
we are going to make sure works. The big gist
of the whole article is I want to be able
to announce this when I want to announce it, and
when we are ready to announce it. Absolutely she deserves
that thousand percent. I'm backing that one hundred percent. We
(47:16):
have no right to jump the gun. I mean, I
don't blame Puck for reporting what he heard source wise,
that's not a I can't blame him for reporting that
if that's because that's news and that's what's out there.
Kathleen Kennedy deserves right to go this is what's out there.
I'll make the announcement when I'm getting ready. But this
is what I talk about as part as carefully crafted.
(47:38):
She attacks the retired part because she's not retiring. She's
gonna go off and do movies. She's gonna go work
with Frank, She's gonna go blah blah blah. But the
news is true if there is a plan of succession
that is forming now and is probably closer to the
end than not. She also so let's let's go through
(48:01):
this bit by that twenty.
Speaker 4 (48:03):
Twenty seven, that's when she can do it. Twenty twenty
seven is.
Speaker 3 (48:06):
What do you think she might be involved with Lucasfilm
for twenty twenty seven, twenty twenty, twenty twenty nine, even
she might be involved in Lucasfilm. I think she is
not the president of Lucasfilm.
Speaker 4 (48:15):
This is what I'm saying. She will step aside in
twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 3 (48:19):
I think she'll be I think she might be out
in mid twenty twenty six. I think she'll be there.
Speaker 4 (48:24):
I think she announces mid twenty twenty six in line
with the months ahead, and then more than seven she
goes five.
Speaker 3 (48:32):
I didn't she announces twenty twenty five. By the end
of twenty twenty five, you might have to think about it.
Ten bucks, ten bucks bucks, Okay, check it, I'll say
you got it. Twenty twenty five, she's God. By the
end of twenty twenty five, she'll make the announcement.
Speaker 4 (48:45):
I say, twenty twenty six.
Speaker 1 (48:48):
Wait, let me, let me, let me think about that
for a second group that we've shaken on it.
Speaker 4 (48:52):
There is a chance. No, no, no, there is there
is a chance.
Speaker 3 (48:56):
I will I will give you there's a chance that
she waits for Andy Lord and Greger to come out
and then the announcement. Chance, but the months altu mention
that maybe there's a chance that might actually happen celebration
if they make the announcement that yes, I'm stepping aside
and this is the person I'm going to bring on
and we are grooming him or her or them to
be the next leader.
Speaker 4 (49:12):
Blah blah blah.
Speaker 3 (49:13):
Either way, she's staying on to do producers, she's gonna
have the production credit on everything, a lot of things
going forward.
Speaker 4 (49:19):
So I don't know, but either way, okay, so let's
let's move on.
Speaker 3 (49:24):
The truth is I want to say loud, I'm retiring.
I'll never retire from movies or what's happening in this film.
I've been talking with quite some time, quite some time
with Bob and Allen about what eventual succession might look like.
They have an amazing bench of people here, and we
have every intention of making announcement months or a year
or a year down the road. We are in lockstep
as to what that's going to be. And I'm continuing.
I'm producing the Mandalorian movie right now, big piece of
(49:48):
news to drop in here now. And I'm also producing
Sean Leevy's movie, which is after that. This is the
first bit of confirmation we know from anybody that's not
named Sean Levy that Sean Levy has a Star Wars
film and developed, but.
Speaker 4 (50:00):
Not only in development.
Speaker 3 (50:02):
So the next one, I am producer to Shan Leave's movie,
which is after that, which fills in the gaps of
our speculation that we had had that September of shooting date.
Speaker 4 (50:10):
Charl Lee's movie is filming next. That's it.
Speaker 1 (50:13):
This is the one that's coming next. So that is
a confirmation of that.
Speaker 3 (50:16):
What do I do that you're just gonna drop that
in discuss kind of thing I thought it could come
in celebration just a I've got the frecker going after
the word. But we're doing Shart Leaves movie. But yeah,
but it's it's a big conversation to have.
Speaker 4 (50:31):
I think we'll see. I think they'll save that for
d twenty three.
Speaker 8 (50:34):
It could be because it's closer to that point they
started filming, and also because he has the Marvel connection
from Debt from Deadpool, So you'd want to do it
at like a bigger Disney wide.
Speaker 4 (50:46):
Where more people are gonna be watching. She's gonna have
Marvel fans. It would be like, oh, yeah, oh that's
the guy from Deadpool. Oh he's doing at was cool?
Go watch that.
Speaker 3 (50:54):
I absolutely think, yeah, don't think you're wrong. Oh I'm
almost thinking like maybe they're just gonna I'm on con news.
I think Ludas don't be like just dropping some random
Tuesday in August, like, oh, by the way, is it happening?
So it continues on just so I'm continuing to stay
at this film, looking very thoughtfully with Bob and Allen
as who's stepping in. So that is all underway, and
we every right to make that announcement when we want
(51:16):
to make it. I want to say it clearly Again,
matter my looking at this, to matter my whatever speculation
on things, I'm absolutely on board with that.
Speaker 1 (51:24):
She has the right.
Speaker 4 (51:25):
She is, if nothing else, earned the right to say
when it's gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (51:29):
Good, Okay, we went on. I talked about day felony things.
I can't say who it is because there's an internal
process that goes on inside a large corporation, in the
publicly held company as to how we go about making deals,
final lighting decisions, and making announcements. Basically, that's the real
away for the press cycle to be where we want
it to be before we make that happen. There's nothing
unusual about that, and we're in the process.
Speaker 4 (51:51):
Hentinues on this.
Speaker 3 (51:53):
Fluria of press coverage. It sounds like chaos. What's the
reality chaos? Canedy answer is chaos. There's never been any
chaos because we know exactly what the plan is, we
know exactly who is and we've been talking about my
throw side and we've been talking about it, as I said,
NonStop for the last couple of years because for obvious reasons,
(52:13):
I'm not going to be here forever. Georgie asked me
thirteen years to go to step in and now I'm
looking at who's going to replace me, And as I said,
with a bunch of people internally to handle the business
creative side, the job has grown.
Speaker 1 (52:24):
Also since I stepped in, there was no streaming.
Speaker 3 (52:26):
There weren't a lot of things that we're involved in
right now going on, So it has grown, right no
streaming before casting co counting Now is streamming big to
do all that again points out to me they know
who they want, they know who they have in mind,
they're just not ready to announce it yet and.
Speaker 4 (52:43):
Go through it. Finalize some things.
Speaker 3 (52:45):
Well, that means they want to add a second person
if it's like a felony plus kind of situation. But
it does through two comments so far all about we
have a lot of great internal folks, so I am
not expecting to have an outsider coming at this point.
That's my on thought process.
Speaker 4 (53:00):
I don't think it's gonna be soon outside. But I
think they're still picking the one.
Speaker 1 (53:05):
I think they might be picking them the two.
Speaker 4 (53:07):
I think that's that's the two that they haven't got
like the definitive. I think they have Dave next.
Speaker 3 (53:13):
I think Dave Filoni's next, and they're trying to figure
out who they want to work with them for the
executive side.
Speaker 1 (53:18):
That's my thought.
Speaker 3 (53:18):
I do really think that's why it's gonna happen. That's
what Disney wants. They've leaked that before. I don't want
to happen either, although at least if it is Dave,
pair them up with somebody executi wise, they can handle.
Speaker 4 (53:29):
Dave, Dave plus some day Johnny faves. Okay, right, Dave
on his own.
Speaker 3 (53:37):
But I still threw out my dark horse candidate because
technically speaking, Simon Kimberg is in Lucas Hill right now, Okay,
so that's a dark horse candidate to be in there.
Speaker 4 (53:46):
Just throwing it out there, all right.
Speaker 3 (53:49):
So deadline how far down the road you expect it
before a change gets made, and then you go off
and produce these two big star Wars things will probably
make an announcement months or a year out. I had
every of sticking around to help that person be successful.
I'm already producing the Mandaloria movie and Sean Leaves is
after that. I recall these same retirement predictions were runnered
a while ago, and you reopt and here you are.
(54:10):
What you make of this fixation on your job status?
Kennedy I truly don't know any discussion previously about me
retiring or quitting or any of those things. That's complete
mor mill because through all these reports, I have just
continued doing my job and continuing my contract.
Speaker 4 (54:23):
Nothing unusual. It all has just been manufactured.
Speaker 3 (54:26):
Again, I agree with basically saying a few red eyes
all you're The thing you're throwing out at of me
has never been true. This is not the situation deadline.
The connotation is you're being pushed aside in need of
being replaced. That's not what I've heard, Kennedy. Is absolutely
not the case. It could not be further from the truth.
And everything that we do inside of Luca's film is
in lockstep and in communication with Disney.
Speaker 4 (54:48):
They all know what's going on.
Speaker 3 (54:50):
The communication has been completely collaborative, as you'd expect. This
is a big piece of business for them, and they
want me to empower want to empower me to help
them make that decision and that choice. I'm doing that,
which means, despite what all the red I say, she
is picking your successor, or she is at least very
much involved in picking your successor, and she has the
right to do so. Absolutely uh. He mentioned later on
(55:15):
Kevin Faigey blah blah blah. She mentions also she talks
about Star Wars being a brand that has changed and
everything else because the world building a lot of chronic
coal stuff, but specifically theres a great quote in here.
Then we have a brand that's this expansive you're also
and it is something we work really hard at. You
try to find different entry points for different generations, because
(55:36):
that's what Star Wars has always been. It's a very
generational brand, and we want to sustain that. We work
hard to sustain that. So George gave us the gift
of storytelling being across lots of different genres, and that
gives us a lot of opportunities to try things. We
really enjoyed about the streaming space is that we've been
able to experiment. It's harder to do that in the
movie space. And now I think that's why we feels
so good to be able to move into a Manda
(55:57):
Lori movie and they're coming off of three seasons a
very successful show. We're actually built an audience for that,
and we gave the young audience an opportunity to enter
Star Wars at a different place and not feel like
you have to have seen everything it can become their
Star Wars. And I think is it's the fun storytelling challenge.
Speaker 4 (56:15):
That's key to me. That is a great thing to say.
Speaker 3 (56:17):
Because Star Wars needs to always rebuilt its you to
have their own Star Wars.
Speaker 1 (56:22):
I'm an old white man. I grew up in the
Oak era, That's.
Speaker 4 (56:25):
What I did. But now we have people who might
not have never seen anything, but their entry point is
a group. And that's that's true.
Speaker 1 (56:34):
It's absolutely true. That's their entry point of Star Wars.
Speaker 4 (56:38):
I know, I get it.
Speaker 1 (56:39):
But that's not a bad thing.
Speaker 4 (56:41):
Not that we're feeling that's a good thing, just knowing
that that, like some kid out, the entry point was
the man Thealorian.
Speaker 3 (56:49):
Right, But that's what we need to have happened that.
And we also mentioned, you know, young Jedi Adventures the
same time.
Speaker 4 (56:55):
And I'm fully with you. I'm more looking with that old.
Speaker 1 (57:01):
Hate confronting my mortality.
Speaker 4 (57:02):
I get that. I agree with that.
Speaker 3 (57:06):
She also talks about the thing we always talk about.
He mentions, you know a lot of resume of big
movies compared to that, how much tougher is the challenge
of so much public scrutiny and second guessing by the
Rabbit fanbase. It's not uncommon to develop a project with
big names who follow out when visions don't align, but
they get reported as a big implosion. Kennedy's response, Well,
you just said, though, it's so interesting to be Mike,
(57:26):
because that is development. It doesn't matter if you're doing
Star Wars or anything else. What's troubling and frustrating is
that our development gets scrutinized, and I don't know any
other production company their development gets scrutinized like that. It's
very hard for anything to happen within Star Wars without
some aspect of it becoming public before you even want
to become public. So I guess managing the message in
some way is also quite a challenge because, of course,
(57:47):
not every single thing we put in development we're going
to make. That's not unusual. We want to make those
things that we feel are the best. We want to
make those things, as time passes, feel relevant to what
the audience is responding to. So there's constant discussion around that. So, yeah,
that's a tricky one because of scruptiny around Star Wars,
the negativity has been about development. Of course, we're going
to develop a lots of different things, but understanding that
not everything gets made.
Speaker 4 (58:09):
They bought that on themselves, though, let's be fair, they
bought that on themselves because you don't hear MGM now
Amazon saying a word about who's going to play the
next Bond. We know they're working, we know they're working
on it, and they don't say a word about it.
Speaker 3 (58:26):
Yeah, but you know what they do what there's a
rumor today about Chrisopher Nolan directing and directing getting final
cut to.
Speaker 4 (58:32):
Director next car thinking on fuckings, that's a big news bit. Now, Okay,
if he doesn't, if he doesn't have to, honestly great,
But here's the thing that they keep so stumned on it,
like we probably know it's probably going to be Cavil next,
but Lucasfilm are like, yes, we're doing this, we're doing this,
we have artwork prepared, we have a logo prepared, we
(58:54):
have a cast announcement prepared. Here it is, oh wait,
it's not going to happen, and saying this like if
they kept a little bit more about it until it's concrete,
we wouldn't have this problem.
Speaker 3 (59:07):
Well, I'll push back though, because a lot of things
what have The only thing that really fits what you're
saying to me, in my mind's eye, the only thing
to think about. Okay, it's the Pat Jenkins thing because
they now they found they have a teaser with it,
and that's one that can trically that's on them. Everything
else I feel like, I mean, Donald Lover's lando is
when it might fit that bill, but as far as
we know he's actually still working on it. I don't know,
(59:29):
I get lasts to be heard he was still working
on it last or now. I mean, the three thing
we have in development obviously is gonna make mentioned in
this Heart Johnson get there. Ryan Johnson thinks that was
set in an interview. That's true, but that still might
happen after knives out. He got to change his mind
us up there. I just feel like a lot of
(59:50):
time leakers take things and they jump on things and
then like this is what I'm talking about though, when
leakers leak this stuff. Having an article like this, having
Kathleen Kennedy or someone from Lucas nol Kongo, Hey, you
know what like that? That drops the idea, Sean Levy
drops it's out there in the world. You're not ready
to make the announcement and go okay, yeah, you know absolutely,
(01:00:11):
Sean Levy and Lucas we have discussed development. We're not
ready to announce anything yet. We're still developing something that
could potentially happen. That is what you say, because then
it gets out there. Your word is out there saying Okay,
we're developing something that may or may not happen. Then
when it doesn't happen, you can point back we said it.
Speaker 4 (01:00:30):
Might not happen. We're just talking about it.
Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
Because if you don't say anything, what becomes what becomes
the word, but becomes Sean Levy's making a Star Wars movie.
Ryan Reynolds is in it. It started a film next September.
Speaker 4 (01:00:40):
Awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:00:41):
I can't wait for it. And then when it falls
apart because Lucas Will doesn't say anything, and I was like.
Speaker 4 (01:00:46):
What the fuck happened? I dropped the ball again. What
the hell?
Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
If you come out there and go yep, Sean Levy
said this, he put out there. I didn't want Sean
Levey to say this, but he did.
Speaker 4 (01:00:53):
So.
Speaker 3 (01:00:53):
Yeah, Sean Levy, we're having a discussion with Sean Levy.
We're developing something. What about Ryan Gosling. He's been mentioned
and does a name of course relate to work with
top tier talent. We're talking about a lot of different
aspects of things. This may or may happened when we
were ready to announce something.
Speaker 4 (01:01:07):
We will let you know. That puts the abash on
a lot of things. This also goes to what I've
often said about Lucasfilm. It's like, whoever keeps leaking this ship,
you know, find out who it is and tell them
to shut the fuck up.
Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
The thing is not always like necessarily Lucasfilm. Sean Levy
is the one who came out and said it something
like that kind of thing. It could be somebody from
Sean Levy's Kim, could be somebody from the other side
of things that are noticing. Rotten Gosling's agent wants it
floated out there that he is talking about Star Wars.
It's not necessarily Lucasfville's fault, you know what I mean?
Like it's things in this day and age are going
to get out. Kathin Kenny said the best he things
(01:01:43):
are going to get out. Yes, should they do a
good job of tightening the ship there absolutely.
Speaker 4 (01:01:50):
Any anything gets out about this we will you will
never work for us.
Speaker 3 (01:01:53):
Ever again, and maybe they could do more that way, absolutely,
but I think it's better you can say that. But
that's like the pie in the sky thing. I think
you have to also have a plan in place for
when things do leak, because things are going to leak
no matter what you do. You can tighten the ship,
but things are going to still leak. So we have
to have a plan place of how to tackle that.
And being this honest and coming forward to this is
(01:02:15):
what's happening. That's the way to do it, honestly, will
never hurt.
Speaker 4 (01:02:18):
You that way, I think.
Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
So all right, keeping going, Yeah, we got for an hour,
I know, but I got a couple of other things.
We'll talk better deadlight. I broke a piece last fall
about Simon Kiinber making a deal to write and produce
a Star Wars trilogy.
Speaker 1 (01:02:34):
How's that going.
Speaker 3 (01:02:35):
We're absolutely rolling fast and furiously. That has gone exceptionally well.
Is literally going to script as we speak. We'll see
something probably around June. Simon, if you remember, did some
work with us years ago with the animated show, which
is really wonderful collaborative experience, and then he got very
very busy with X Men and recently became available again
and he segued into this space beautifully. We're really excited
about where that's headed. Okay, so we got now I
(01:02:57):
think this Besides, I think this is the first time
we've heard Luke. This one confirmed Simon Kimberg. I believe
Simon Kimberg gets said everything else himself.
Speaker 4 (01:03:06):
Story right.
Speaker 3 (01:03:06):
I don't think anybody else from Lucas Woman said anything
until now. Okay, you're confirming it.
Speaker 4 (01:03:11):
Now we know great earners.
Speaker 3 (01:03:15):
There are spin offs, and then there is the core
Star Wars story broken into trilogies. This is a continuation
of that, Canaday. This is the next iteration, the new
saga that moves us into the future. Okay, so this
is basically saying, yes, this is ten, eleven and twelve,
whether that's part of the Scout crossaga or not. This
is the next main storyline deadline and the one by
(01:03:35):
Deadpool Wolverine director Sean Levy that's also in the future.
First time got in confirmation about this. It's all post
the first nine. Sean's the standalone Star Wars story and
that'll take place post nine, maybe five or six years
out and Mandalorian really stands on its own because there
we're dealing with the whole other era and the New Republic.
We have other development going on in that space as well.
(01:03:59):
No make it announcement about it. I mean, maybe she's
just talking about a cell quotation too. Maybe she's just
talking about the day of Manda movie. I feel like
there's working on there. So that space we're pretty much
focused on right now, because obviously with Mandalorian we have
a pretty good sense of where that's going.
Speaker 4 (01:04:14):
And with this.
Speaker 3 (01:04:17):
In Berg and Levy, it's all pretty much new characters.
We may bring some of the characters back from the
sequel to Saga, but pretty much new characters. I'm gonna
come back to this on second, before you finish this thing,
she continued. Daylines is how many development type products do
you have percolating that you feel confident will turn into
something down the line.
Speaker 1 (01:04:37):
The play is safe.
Speaker 3 (01:04:38):
I'd say three or four right now at the moment.
And a large part of it, Mike, is who is
the talent we're attaching. And that's a challenge in and
of itself these days because people get really busy, so
you find yourself having to wait with a lot of
the top talent doing streaming and movies now, juggling schedules,
and when you do Star Wars you pretty much have
to step into it and not have any competing work
going on. It's a good two to three years minimum commitment,
(01:04:58):
and that's tough to get top talent to be to
carve out that kind of time, So that's part of
the challenge as well. Deadline, you still got prequel. James Bangol,
who's Oscar nominated for the Bob Dylan movie, is yep.
He's working on his script right now. Simon's working on
scripts right now.
Speaker 4 (01:05:12):
Sean.
Speaker 3 (01:05:12):
We've been working with him already for about a year
and a half. These guys are available now. Jim got
de laid a bit because of the Dylan movie and
the award season, and you have to accommodate top talent
to a certain extent. The quality is so important with
what we're trying to do. I like to wait for
people that I think are passionate and really good to
step into Star Wars and the others I've forgotten. Kennedy, well,
I keep waiting for Taika and he's working with another
(01:05:34):
writer now.
Speaker 4 (01:05:35):
He's so busy. I love him.
Speaker 3 (01:05:38):
I think if we ever too get a script from Tiger,
it's gonna be fantastic. I already saw a first act
that I loved, but tying him down is tricky. That's
pretty much how it ended. Talk more about her future,
which is great.
Speaker 4 (01:05:56):
Ouh.
Speaker 3 (01:05:57):
They did ask will you armed twist Tony to doing
one of these Stars Wars movies after he was the
uncredited backstop on Rogue one. Kennedy said, I don't know
if I can. I don't think he's ever believed he'd
be a decade in the size of Star Wars. He's
writing some things on his own. I think he'd like
to get back to the director's chair, so we'll see
what he does. But he's such a challenge, just fantastic.
And the last bit, will you step out as lucasfilm
boss this year?
Speaker 4 (01:06:19):
Kennedy?
Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
We really don't know what this stage or so much
going on, Mike, I don't know when it happens. We'll
make the decision. Me it's my decision.
Speaker 4 (01:06:27):
This is my decision.
Speaker 3 (01:06:30):
So to end it for Kathy Kenny basically giving a
little double bird salute, I'm doing what I want to do.
You all suck and that's good. I'm glad let her
do it. But on other news, wise, Tyke can still
work on a script if we ever get it. It's
still a development. But that to me, if she's willing
to talk about it again, comes in the form of
(01:06:51):
the carefully crafted conversation she mentions Tayka developing. I think
that's still something that might be actively on her mind
as he wants to make work happened. Ken Berg is
doing it, Levy's doing it, Mangal is doing it. Doesn't
mention Dave Filonio's movie, but I don't think that's ever
been in doubt. The question I have in the last
bit of news, a bit we'll tackle before we move
(01:07:12):
on to and or season one conspicuous by its absence,
not one mention of the New Jedi Order movie with Ray,
the Charmido Bitchnoi. Not one mention of any of that,
And like you could say, well, just slip your mind,
she's wondering out the door, and everything else had kind
(01:07:32):
and so carefully crafted. It feels a bit conspicuous by
its absence, especially when you talk about they're talking about
Sean Levy's movie, right, I'm in Canberg's trilogy, which we've
talked about new characters to new characters. We might bring
back some sequel characters, but is mainly new characters.
Speaker 4 (01:07:59):
We've told about her Sean me In Obachanoy, the New
Ray movie being that trilogy.
Speaker 3 (01:08:06):
I did too, George, because George Nolfhie's writing that we
just heard and Simon Kimberg is going to script it
now also, so all of a sudden, that becomes less
likely to be the same thing. John Leevey's writing his,
Simon Kimber's writing his, whereas the Ray Charmiane obate Chanoy
George Dolphie scripts.
Speaker 4 (01:08:24):
What's going on with that?
Speaker 3 (01:08:26):
Conspicuous by its absence? I honestly think I am more
and more sure. I would put it at seventy five
percent now, if not eighty percent. That's Charmian obate Chanoi
is no longer going to be directing this, Okay, Daisy Ridley,
I still think he's going to come back as right.
(01:08:47):
I wish that deadline. If I was the deadline person,
that's the one thing I would have asked for confirmation,
because we had what led my gut to the speculation
before Daisy the interview or Daisy said this was turning
into a trilogy, and Daisy said yes, whether that was
a missed up by her or what that was, that's eleven.
Speaker 4 (01:09:04):
You believe that the Simon Kimberg thing was that. What's
going on with that? Why isn't it mentioned? Is it
mean because she didn't mention Dave's movie, Does that mean
that's not getting made anymore? No?
Speaker 3 (01:09:17):
But she alluded to it to the Mandalorian future. We
have stuff in development the Mandalorian space, and that's what
we're working on right now.
Speaker 4 (01:09:23):
Okay, but she didn't specifically mention that movie.
Speaker 3 (01:09:27):
Correct, But you don't need to mention that movie. He's
ingrained in Lucasfilm. He is the chief creative officer. He
is the chief of creativity.
Speaker 4 (01:09:33):
And are there.
Speaker 1 (01:09:34):
I don't know you have to mention that to be
to be in there.
Speaker 4 (01:09:37):
I'm just playing that. I know you are really supposedly
supposed to be a big part of this sham and
a bait Chanoi shit. That shaman a bait channoit movie.
I just found it.
Speaker 1 (01:09:52):
Very I don't know, I could I guess said that.
Speaker 4 (01:09:55):
I could be wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:09:55):
It just feels like everything else has been so well
crafted and like out again disguised as a off the
cup conversation, but definitely was done for a reason. She
chose deadline. I don't think Mike actually called her and
got her out the cup. I think she talked to
Mike Beau said let's have a conversation. But again, I
(01:10:18):
could be wrong. Maybe it did slipper mind. Maybe she
didn't think about it. I mean, she's other stuff to
talk about.
Speaker 4 (01:10:22):
But I just Patty Jenkins is also apparently still right
in the Roue Squadron movie that didn't that didn't get mentioned. Yeah,
that's true, you're not wrong, you're not wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:10:30):
But I also think that that might be more I
hear from Patty Jenkins, And again, I don't want to
throw out there.
Speaker 4 (01:10:36):
Too more I don't want to hear from Patty Jenkins. More.
Speaker 3 (01:10:38):
I don't want hear from Patty jen I kind of
feel like she's trying to will it back into existence.
Maybe that's the way I feel about it. Potentially, Uh, maybe.
Speaker 4 (01:10:48):
It's the thanks that you just want to, like, you
want to keep around just in case, right exactly, if
she comes up with something great, well look at it.
Speaker 3 (01:10:56):
Sure, I think you asked Cass the Kid directly, what
about Patty Jenks as well?
Speaker 4 (01:10:59):
She if she gives us something.
Speaker 3 (01:11:02):
I think she's a fantastic director, and I think if
she wants us give something, we'll obviously look at.
Speaker 4 (01:11:05):
It and go from there. I mean that kind of
like non committed respond If we break up with Sean
Levy and Tyker and Jim Mangold and everyone else, we've
got her as a.
Speaker 1 (01:11:16):
Lost She's our standby right now exactly.
Speaker 4 (01:11:18):
That sucked. All right, that's enough of that. Let's get
into the.
Speaker 3 (01:11:24):
All right, let's get into and Or season one. We're
an hour eleven minutes in before we get to this.
Speaker 4 (01:11:29):
This is really old school. This is gonna be a
long episode, but let's get through it. And Or. We're
gonna do this all in one group.
Speaker 3 (01:11:35):
If you haven't seen us before, when we break down
our shows, we do it in a series of categories
in order to kind of uh pinpoint our specifics on it,
and then we will come back and talk about more
about the general reality generality of it. Because we were
doing this in arcs, we're going to do this all
in one, so we're gonna basically treat this like one
big we, which might mean our categories might have some
(01:11:59):
extra spots given to Will gives some leeway that way.
Speaker 4 (01:12:04):
To make things as it were. But we're gonna go
through it bit by bit.
Speaker 3 (01:12:08):
The one category we're going to eliminate, I think is
forced vision because quite frankly, we know it's gonna happen
in this series.
Speaker 4 (01:12:15):
Because I thought I came up with a pretty good one.
Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
I thought we can kind of like incorporate into the
putting that in your whole chronic snoke it kind of thing. Okay,
maybe talking about that, but yeah, we'll go through it
all right. First up, our first time we always ask
and I don't even know if you bothered doing this one,
because we know it's gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (01:12:32):
Just do it, all right, it's Honda Watch twenty.
Speaker 3 (01:12:36):
Twenty Well this is actually twenty one and twenty twenty
three two. I don't know Honda Watch twenty twenty two.
Did knock I make an appearance in the first three
episodes of Andrew season one? We know the answer is no,
God damn it.
Speaker 4 (01:12:54):
When will we?
Speaker 1 (01:12:55):
When are our long national nightmare? And ah he's not
in it?
Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
Only in season two though Olybien season two probably probably not.
Probably he's an alien. He's an alien, so probably not.
Speaker 3 (01:13:12):
Yea Tony Gilroy is definitely xenophobic when it comes to
Star Wars as as fear of aliens. We don't have
an alien in Star Wars and Or. That's one of
the few drawbacks. It's one of the few drawbacks of
Android season one, I'll.
Speaker 4 (01:13:24):
Say, although we do get pretty cool one in this all.
Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
Yeah, yeah, No, there's a couple of them. There are
a couple of them out there, absolutely, but it's definitely
if you look at Androivers every other Star Wars property
or desiredly less aliens in and Or than there are
in other other properties. And that's okay, all right? Next up,
crew member of the Week or the first three episodes.
This is where we take our favorite Actually know what,
(01:13:49):
I didn't even change the names of our category. They
should look at that and thought about it. What it's
a changing for Androids to basically our favorite character of
the week or character, yeah, character of the week, favorite
two one or two characters of this arc.
Speaker 4 (01:14:02):
We can go with that.
Speaker 5 (01:14:03):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:14:03):
I had two ones throw out there. Why don't you
give me your your your choices there? First line was
pretty easy. Brasso Brasso. I want Brasso as my friend.
The amount of ship that I in my formative years
would get up to and would require my friends to
come up with an excuse on the fly, and they're
(01:14:27):
just absolutely, my friends are terrible with that.
Speaker 1 (01:14:31):
Brasso is not. Yeah, is great at it.
Speaker 4 (01:14:36):
Brasso is like the best friend anyone could ever ask for,
because Cassie is like coming out with this whole spiel.
He's just like, we went back to your place. We
had a bottle, you had an unopened bottle of this,
and then Brasso's like, you offended me my choice of
beverage just like it, like it plops on it more.
Speaker 3 (01:14:58):
Just like they had a he had to deal with
the knock that and or got and so he knows
he had cover that up too, all right, that's where
that king.
Speaker 4 (01:15:06):
And then he ends it by tell your mother, I
said hello. I love the fact that Brassa does that too,
because like it's one of the two friends. Things like
I'm gonna make this story up and in that story,
I whooped your ass and you're gonna say, yeah, that's
what happened. Tell me you smart at me and liked it,
and you liked it. No, I agree. Brass is great.
Speaker 3 (01:15:26):
It's almost like it's funny because on a Rewatch. I
almost I almost feel like I'm gonna have him be
a character for the week at some point. So I
didn't have him be a character week yet it's kind
of like that. That's what the Rewatch kind of does.
It can affect my looking at things. But it's a
great choice. I absolutely love the choice. And he is
he is a real one. He is a true loyal friend.
(01:15:48):
Everyone should have a Brassow in their life, salt of
the earth, hard worker, loyal like. But he's gonna be
doing He's gonna do the right thing. The right thing
is lying for your friend to cover for him, even
if he doesn't know what's going on. He has no
idea what Cassidy did. But he's still gonna get his bell.
He's in his back, his bottle of dog. Oh way,
(01:16:09):
I want a bottle of No.
Speaker 4 (01:16:10):
I don't know what it is. I want a bottle.
I want to try it. I have often said to
my friends and Poty, this applies to you. If I die,
you can use my name for any lie. That's a
great lie on my name. If you have to, there
you go perfect. I love it.
Speaker 3 (01:16:27):
Uh, did you have anyone else you wanted to highlight?
I I had two I was gonna highlight Okay, that's fair,
that's fair. I had two choices.
Speaker 4 (01:16:37):
One.
Speaker 3 (01:16:37):
I know he was only in the one episode, but
it's Luthen. It's ac think every week's gonna be Luthan.
I just love to selling his cards guard and and Or.
He is by far my favorite character throughout the entirety
of the saga. Of the and Or saga, I should
say selling scars. Guard Man knows how to speak a
line of dialogue and make it his and the intensity
behind him. He is the most interesting character by far.
(01:17:00):
I love Cassion, I love like his story and getting
to know his background, But at the end of the day,
I want to know more about Luthen and this did
not change for the first three times. First time I
watched these three episodes, at the end of the thren
ep so, I was like, Damn, Luthen is a badass.
He is part of the rebellion that we didn't know
existed before this. So of course that leads speculatively that
(01:17:23):
this is not going to end well for Luthan by
the end of the series. But damn, this side of
things I want to see developed more and I hope
we get more of about him. I'm hoping we get
to see Luthen in the Mask of Fear books or
the that Reign of the Empire trilogy.
Speaker 4 (01:17:36):
Yeah, which I don't know. Maybe he's in this one.
Speaker 3 (01:17:38):
I don't I have gotten that far yet, but we
know there's more books coming and it's going to jump
ahead in time, so that'd be great to see Luthen
in that as well. I can't wait for to see
that potentially Stelling Scarsguard is that I've mentioned it before,
we mentioned we talked about Skeleton Crew.
Speaker 1 (01:17:54):
He is a known commodity. Like and there's that question, well,
you should have unknowns in Star Wars because they can
be distracting. No, you put someone like a Selling Scars
Carden or a Jude Law and all of a sudden
you get class a performance, and a class of performance
makes you forget anything about who they are. Actor wis
and that you go, I want to know more about
this character. And so Luthen, even though he's in one
(01:18:16):
of the three episodes, he got to the top of
the chart with a laser blast. The other character I
want to highlight. This is my own, my own personal
I hope.
Speaker 4 (01:18:29):
It's who you think, who I think you're about to say,
because I'm trying to find his name.
Speaker 3 (01:18:33):
My own personal hondo for and or as far as
this goes like, he's a guy that I just want
to see in every episode. He's never gonna be in
any hardly any episodes, but when he appears, I just smile.
Nastal Lieutenant Mosque, Yes that's his name, most and I
don't know, Actually I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:18:50):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:18:50):
I don't know who's ranking.
Speaker 3 (01:18:51):
Sorry forget it's Moss though, Cyril carn who is his
absolute shit wheeled preck.
Speaker 4 (01:18:58):
He's the d white Shrews, the twite Sugar of Star Wars.
Speaker 3 (01:19:03):
You have Moss come in every dialogue makes me laugh.
He is so committed to the bit, so committed to.
Speaker 4 (01:19:12):
Every his character.
Speaker 3 (01:19:15):
He has said he's not in season two, and I
hope he's wrong. I hope he's lying to us for
that matter, and I hope he comes back. I understand
if he doesn't come back. This quite frankly, his story
is kind of done at this point.
Speaker 4 (01:19:25):
But man, hope not. I can see him.
Speaker 3 (01:19:29):
I could see him coming back, but I'm saying if
he doesn't, I would understand it, like i'd understand why
he doesn't. But man, he made me laugh, He makes
me smile. He like wants to be in charge, but
yet is a bootlecker, like of the in the worst fashion.
Every bit of dialogue he said, I'm like this guy.
Speaker 1 (01:19:48):
This That's what I kept saying, this.
Speaker 4 (01:19:50):
Guy, this guy. But he just says shit, shit, Yes,
I love me an accent like that too. I love
kind of accent. Always gets me, always gots me to
in there.
Speaker 5 (01:20:04):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:20:05):
He he just starts talking all the way a lot
of the time, especially when he like he has this
like rebel rousing speech to his to his fellow people
right before they go to get Cassie and the trap
casting and he.
Speaker 1 (01:20:18):
Goes and he goes, Sara, oh go ahead, Zara has
no idea what he's doing. Yeah, yeah, sure, and he's.
Speaker 4 (01:20:27):
Like, good job, that's got He's still like that's on
the back, and like he treats him like he was
he was a champion, like he did the best job
in the world. And when Kway even looks, he's like.
Speaker 1 (01:20:41):
And the funniest part is that we actually get a
moment where even Mosque breaks for Sarah because the Cheryl
also gets traumatized when Lutheran and and Cassian kind of
do their trickery and break free, which we'll talk about
a little later, I'm sure. And Cyril gets like shell shocked.
He's had her to do and is like start we
got to go think guess, come on now, but Mosque
(01:21:03):
is so fun.
Speaker 4 (01:21:05):
I was looking for his name, but for some reason
it kept coming up. It was Molch and I was like, no, no,
she's She's the Scottish god. So no, thank you for
reminding me.
Speaker 2 (01:21:14):
Of his name.
Speaker 3 (01:21:15):
Sergeant Sergeant Linus Mosque save by Alex Ferns. Mister Ferns, Bravo, ahvo.
He is gonna go down like this is I feel
like this is a future episode where we take it's
not like our favorite, like small time characters that don't
appear like not quite glump shadows, but like I don't.
Speaker 4 (01:21:36):
Know, so like our favorite like that dude he was
in The Batman? Yes he was? Who did he play
in the Batman?
Speaker 1 (01:21:45):
He was?
Speaker 4 (01:21:46):
What was he was?
Speaker 3 (01:21:48):
The I just saw him and there. I remember watching
the show and I was using watching that was he
in Danny Boy?
Speaker 4 (01:21:57):
He was in Danny Boy. He was in God Della
Ves's Godzilla x Kong.
Speaker 3 (01:22:02):
Yeah, yes, he was. I remember seeing him in that.
I remember I was like, that's awesome, that's him. He's
he is in which is a show I haven't actually
finished yet, haven't watched that. And The Batman he was
he was the commissioner, Nottson or Savage or whatever.
Speaker 4 (01:22:20):
So good.
Speaker 3 (01:22:20):
He is so good, Alice Ferns, I celebrate you. Yeah,
So anything else needs to talk about care remember or
character the week?
Speaker 4 (01:22:29):
If you go? All right?
Speaker 1 (01:22:31):
Next up, I spects.
Speaker 3 (01:22:32):
Our favorite line of dialogue from the episodes a couple
of different ones. Luten had one in the third one,
but my favorite line by far for sure is Marvra
from the third episode. And she is taken active on
house arrests while they're looking for Cassian and the two
(01:22:54):
guards left behind, and all of the Fara ex people
vers citizens are are banging on the old bells there
the pipes to kind of let people know something's going on.
Such a great tone of like oppressiveness but rebellion there
and she just sits there and watches these two guards
who are very unnerved. You can tell they're getting very
(01:23:16):
unnerved by it. And she goes get to see it,
doesn't That's what a reckoning sounds like you want it
to stop.
Speaker 1 (01:23:25):
It just keeps coming. Well it stops, that's what you
really want.
Speaker 3 (01:23:29):
To start to fret h just send it like the
badass that she is and totally complete unnerves, like you
see the guards going.
Speaker 1 (01:23:37):
What happens? Then it gets so nerved?
Speaker 4 (01:23:40):
But is it is?
Speaker 1 (01:23:41):
Is actually to me a lion dialogue that sums up
and or the series. It's because the oppressive this is
taken over.
Speaker 3 (01:23:49):
We are living in a fascist society and the people
are starting to fight back and there's going to be
a reckoning and it's.
Speaker 1 (01:23:55):
A great, great highlight for what's to come in the end,
the end of the series, end of the season of
the series. Potentially, it just show us what's going to
go on. And I got chills when I listened to it.
I love it so much.
Speaker 4 (01:24:11):
What about you? What about you? What are your mine?
Was the Luthen quote when he's speaking to Cassio and
in the in the warehouse, he says, oh, they'd hang me?
Would they take me up Rick Road and hang me
in the square? Wouldn't be the first time with it?
Isn't that where they hung your father? Because it is
to me that he has had his eyes on Cassion
for a long time. He's not just there for this
(01:24:33):
StarPath unit. He's there because he sees the potential in
Cassio and and he's like, Okay, let me come, let
me come get this guy and get him out of here,
and you know, try and groom him into being the
next meeting. Essentially. There was one line that I completely forgot.
It was such a throwaway line and it was in
the first episode, and it was by one of the guards,
(01:24:55):
and it was one that like, when I heard it
on the rewatch, I was like, oh, Tony, you know
exactly what you were doing. It was when the two
the two corporate guards are following him down the street
and they're talking about how he got there, and one
of them goes, oh, maybe he swam over. Oh my god, here.
Speaker 1 (01:25:20):
You're so I even on the rewatch, I didn't think
about it.
Speaker 4 (01:25:25):
Holy snooks saying that's Diego Luna snokes. Wow he did
a yeah, yeah, yeah, that's very on the nose. Yeah,
on the nose. So I think the Gilaory brothers and
then what they were doing when they were writing that one, Yeah, yeah,
(01:25:45):
I was thinking of its Star Wars wise, I thought
it was a nice little peek ahead at prison art
potentially as well.
Speaker 3 (01:25:51):
Yeah, in a way, but I like your angle better.
I didn't think about that one. You're you're that's an
awesome I should have it.
Speaker 4 (01:25:57):
So it was like such a little like throwaway comment.
I had it when I was on the Rewears.
Speaker 6 (01:26:01):
I was like, oh, okay, I see, I see what
you're doing, mister, mister Gilroy's good stuff, good Paul.
Speaker 4 (01:26:13):
I did like the other Luther line. I actually didn't.
Speaker 3 (01:26:15):
I thought i'd written down I didn't, But it was
the idea about like don't you want to fight these
bastards for real? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:26:22):
That was great.
Speaker 3 (01:26:22):
It was great again. It's Stelle's cards, card lot delivery
that makes it. It's a normal common line. It's like
any baths, I would say, but Stella delivers it with
such a plum as you will that she totally takes
over for it.
Speaker 4 (01:26:38):
For sure. So all right, put that into your holocron
and snook it wor explore more a lore. You can
buy this a little bit of forest vision if you want.
If you think there's something that's gonna be in here,
you're gonna find out more about I'm gonna start with one.
I'm wondering, are we have kind of.
Speaker 3 (01:26:57):
A dangling plot line so far? We haven't ever gotten finished,
and I don't see anything about it in season two.
I don't know if it can even fit in season.
Speaker 4 (01:27:06):
Two, but it was laid out in the beginning.
Speaker 1 (01:27:09):
It's such an important part of his story, and that's
Cassie and his sister. Like he starts the very first episode,
he is in the strip club, he is looking for
his sister, and he's left the sister from how we
have a lot of flashbacks to being from Canari. And
(01:27:31):
so is that something that we're actually going to find
out more?
Speaker 4 (01:27:35):
Do you think?
Speaker 1 (01:27:36):
Or is that gonnat you what I.
Speaker 4 (01:27:39):
Think I would think? So, that's what. It's such a
big thing. I think I think that we'll find out
one way or another.
Speaker 1 (01:27:46):
I would think so too.
Speaker 3 (01:27:47):
But it was very I'm kind of curious to do
the rest of the rewatch of the season because I
don't really remember much more about Canari or about his sister.
Speaker 4 (01:27:59):
After these first three episodes, so and we have so
much to do.
Speaker 1 (01:28:03):
I do wonder if it's going to be a.
Speaker 3 (01:28:06):
Victim of the idea that and Or was initially going
to be five seasons and then cut it down to two.
Speaker 1 (01:28:13):
Mean we're not going to get any information. I think
it would be a it would be a criticism.
Speaker 3 (01:28:19):
I can see for the show to kind of like
push this in the beginning and then just never talk
about it again here later on, maybe it's a book
or something potentially later on.
Speaker 4 (01:28:27):
But I do think I would like to know a
little bit more. You think someone at the caliber of
tiny Gilroy that would be like, that's a big hanging thing.
Speaker 3 (01:28:35):
We should probably at least tie it up, even if
it's there, even if it's kind of a cheap, kind
of quick kind of tie up in a way.
Speaker 4 (01:28:42):
You're right, you're not wrong, so and also throw it
out there. I want to see more musk. I want
to see I want to see this guy get involved more.
But I want to see a a mosque TV.
Speaker 3 (01:28:55):
As Disney Plus special where it's just mosque at work
or most become like a PI or something like that.
Speaker 4 (01:29:01):
You know what I want? I want Paul blot more
cup but with mask.
Speaker 3 (01:29:09):
Star War version of the Malkout and it's mask that
is perfect. It's absolutely right. I love it all right,
what about you, my friend?
Speaker 4 (01:29:16):
I want to I think we are going to go
back to Pheryx because we have the shots with the
with the construction vehicle. But I'd like to know more
about Pheryx before the Imperial occupation because it seems to
me like it's kind of like maybe I'm getting the
era run but like the seventeen seventies eighties Detroit right
(01:29:38):
where it's like all these like big factories, massive manufacturing plants,
and then the Empire comes in and it just all
goes away, right, Yeah, I would have it seems like
a place where it's just like hard working people, working
class folk, big bustling like Detroit star factories, like the
(01:30:00):
vehicle factories and everything. I would love to have seen
like what it was like before the Empire showed up. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:30:06):
Oh, it definitely showcases where we are with that as
far as that goes, like it's very much a this
is one more tool of the Empire being the oppressor
of fascists, like government that it is, and the heroes
and the citizens having to fight back and people like Brasso.
Brasso really does represent like the everyman citizen. I was
(01:30:27):
a group like Casting is the one who's gonna actually
fight in the rebellion. Brasso is not gonna like fight
in the organized rebellion, but he'll be the one who
stands up and is like taking his lumps fighting doing
what's right, basically doing what's right. Love to see more
about that as well. So yeah, no, you're your yours,
you're spot on there and try to do anything else
in the episodes that we watched that I.
Speaker 4 (01:30:47):
Mean another other thing.
Speaker 3 (01:30:48):
Well, I still again want to know more about Luthen
and like the history of his I want to know
what Luthen did before I actually I know he threw.
We started out there all the time. And there's too
many topcause I'd love to see comics or books or
but if I had to like list like the top level,
I would really love a prequel book about Luthen where
(01:31:11):
he was like during the Clone War is what happened
to like him to get to where he was and
ands one because I.
Speaker 4 (01:31:17):
Imagine with the collection he's got, he was some kind
of like smuggler.
Speaker 3 (01:31:22):
Could be a smuggler, could have been just a a
lore sentecha type of archaeologist, kind of type doctor afric
kind of person.
Speaker 4 (01:31:29):
Was he.
Speaker 3 (01:31:31):
Nectar to the Jedi in any way, shape or form,
not necessarily a Jedi, not even a four uture potentially,
but does he have kind of connected d travel with
some Jedi, potentially irate a lot of different things. There's
so many things you could do with Lucien. But I'm
fascinated to know his story. I don't need to know
everybody's story. Like, Honestly, as much as I love mosque,
I don't really need a mosque book.
Speaker 1 (01:31:50):
I talk about it.
Speaker 3 (01:31:51):
You know, that's not what you need, like the funny
comedy siding thing. But but Lian Lindan's fantastically like yeah,
and it gets very agents where he comes from, for sure,
So all right, I.
Speaker 4 (01:32:05):
Guess we can move on. Then let's go to see
a lot of action.
Speaker 3 (01:32:07):
This is our favorite action beats from the first three
film episodes, and well t coaptly. Honest there's not a
lot of action in these first three episodes except for
the big firefight at the end of three. And we
have a little bit of the beginning, which is more
like the little interaction between cast and the two guards,
which kind of obviously inst to getting event the catalyst
(01:32:28):
of the series, but beyond that a lot more of
a dramatic show. But when they cut loose, they cut
loose because that I mean, I think it's easy to
say that firefight at the end of third episode is
where it's at great battle sequence, the warehouse fight, the
street speeder chase, the cutting loose, the taking Ceial Carn
(01:32:51):
like I'm.
Speaker 1 (01:32:52):
Not hostage necessarily, but knocking it.
Speaker 3 (01:32:54):
It is interesting that they don't kill Serial Carn because
he already because Casting already killed the guard. Casting goes
on to kill the rebellion guy in Rogue one, so
it's not he is hesitant to kill somebody, and Luther
even says kill him. For some reason, they don't, And
I don't know why that is besides the fact that
it's plot armor and they wanted Serial particular.
Speaker 4 (01:33:15):
I think I think that's probably the reason they didn't
kill him for.
Speaker 1 (01:33:19):
I was feel like that was a little bit of
a misstep.
Speaker 3 (01:33:21):
Every episode has them, but I feel like something should
have happened where he, like sel Kron, got knocked out
and then like before they killed him, I think they
had to flee or something.
Speaker 4 (01:33:31):
What was up.
Speaker 3 (01:33:32):
I think it's the come Yeah, maybe potentially it could
be it, but but yeah, there's a whole lot of
stuff going on there. That action was was great. Had
the blaster fights the closing in of Moscae and forces
the ship that came out when they tried to go
in the air and brass attached the I remember, I
can't remember why they looked away. Somebody it was a
(01:33:53):
brass over somebody else thin somebody else who connected the
the imperial ship to the large piece of that.
Speaker 4 (01:33:58):
That's that is my my scene little action moment is
the putting the hook yes on the back of the
Imperial shuttle and then just attaching it to the massive
glass crane.
Speaker 2 (01:34:10):
Again.
Speaker 4 (01:34:11):
I thought that that was awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:34:13):
I love that and love Moss responsible to is that us?
Is that them that's from behind us? And also he
has that look of horrors like runner siege. Oh my god,
this is something that is not are not We are
not the we are not the bullies anymore. Basically, we
can't bully the situation. We're actually danger here this moment
ago we gotta go.
Speaker 4 (01:34:32):
It was at this moment he knew he fucked up.
Speaker 1 (01:34:34):
Yeah, pretty much, pretty much. It's like it's oh boy,
good stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:34:39):
Though anything else specifically you wanted to touch based on
action wise, nope, okay, yeah. Again, there was a whole
lot of action to it, except for the big one
big piece of action there. All right, I'll laugh it up, Fuzzball.
Are comic moments of the weaker of the episodes. Basically,
just go ahead. I'll let you go first for this one.
Speaker 4 (01:34:59):
Let's go. Tim dying was hilarious to me because he's
a stitch and he had it coming. Snitches get stitches.
Tim with two ms deserves to die because he snitched
on Cassian. Sorry that I felt that was pretty sctisfying
and pretty hilarious. Everything be too well. He tells Cassian
that he has enough energy to lie for him for
(01:35:22):
a lie, and then Cassie says, tell her, tell mother this, this,
this and this, and then he just goes, that's too
and then you have the dog peeing on him, and
he shocks the dog and then just rolls away. It's great.
Speaker 3 (01:35:36):
The one that my specific ones last two of the
ones you brought up with. What my ones I noted
down was that that's two lies. Uh, the hens being
already shocks the dog.
Speaker 4 (01:35:46):
Love that bit.
Speaker 3 (01:35:47):
Anything be to human does is good. And then I
can't of course from me or anything Mos did as well.
Speaker 4 (01:35:51):
Uh, I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:35:52):
I don't overdo my top moths, but anything anything over
his mouth and laughing my ass off at it.
Speaker 1 (01:35:57):
Tim Carlo dying, I will push back. I don't know
if I was bloody.
Speaker 4 (01:36:01):
It was satisfying anytime, anytime a snitch thighs like an
angel get the twins.
Speaker 3 (01:36:07):
Satisfying funny. I don't know, that's all right. Yeah, that
was definitely my favorite fervord of humorous moments for sure.
Bou is the definitely the classiest of the the most
humorous people creature we have. It was good to see
him by the way in he saw a brief bit
of him in the special Look, Okay, very briefly, so
we actually we hadn't seen him in the first trailer.
Speaker 4 (01:36:29):
It's kind of like.
Speaker 1 (01:36:31):
Way he was with Brasso and it was actually with
a potentially with a friend. It looked like there was
another droid by his side, potentially similar kind of droid
of them.
Speaker 4 (01:36:42):
So maybe maybe it's a date. Maybe they're they're going
to get together. Who knows? B two email he's I
remember messaging off for an alex name and being like,
why be too?
Speaker 2 (01:36:52):
In the trailer?
Speaker 4 (01:36:54):
What is going on? Oh? Love it all right? Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:37:01):
I guess the last thing we want to do. Then
before we'll talk about the rest, let's let's rate the episodes.
I did rate all three of them, like one by
one for that, and then we can talk about anything
else you want to catch up on. As far as
that goes, we read things on a scale of one
to eleven. Here on Puildy projects, we always turn things
up to eleven.
Speaker 7 (01:37:17):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:37:17):
The first episode I gave it a seven out of eleven,
second one I gave an eight out of eleven mm hm.
And the third one I gave a ten out of eleven.
Speaker 4 (01:37:26):
Okay, And what do you have? I will go eight, eight, nine, okay.
Speaker 3 (01:37:31):
I will say the rewatch does improve things. I understand
a little bit why people thought the beginning was slow,
because it is a little slow. It's definitely slow burn
the first like two episodes that because this drop is
two episodes I remember correctly, there's definitely a slow burn too.
Like I said, there's not a lot of action to
it selfiad drawn out thing.
Speaker 4 (01:37:53):
However, it does.
Speaker 1 (01:37:55):
What it does do is set the tone very properly
of the oppressiveness of it, the almost claustrophobic feel of it.
Speaker 4 (01:38:03):
How we feel like just tight and like hard. It's
it's good.
Speaker 1 (01:38:09):
However, at the same time, it's like are smaller episodes,
and I found that I could do without the flashbacks
to Canari, minus the one when Marva finds him. I
kind of felt that those slowed the episode down a
little bit for me as far as that goes.
Speaker 4 (01:38:25):
Maybe the sister plot is was the string to start that.
Speaker 3 (01:38:29):
Yeah, that is kind of thing, and I guess maybe
that's something that if there's a pay if there's a
payoff in season two about the sister and Canari, maybe
that will retroactively kind of make that more important and
more like appointment viewing of the thing. As of right now,
I'm kind of like I want to get to the stuff.
Like I was talking back to the present day, I
was like, I'm all in. I want to see what
Cassie was doing. I love the interactions with Brasso, I
(01:38:50):
love his interactions with Bis. I love the interactions with
Marva and Timo.
Speaker 4 (01:38:58):
And bix Is.
Speaker 1 (01:38:59):
Oh my god, she is. She's my girlfriend. He's definitely
my girlfriend. She is a Oh she is.
Speaker 4 (01:39:05):
I love her.
Speaker 3 (01:39:06):
She's so she's a guy, the kind of person you
want to be with, Like she's loyal to a fault, even.
Speaker 4 (01:39:12):
When I mean, unless you unless you're Tim. No.
Speaker 3 (01:39:15):
But even when Tim aft up, she was still very
she was very She wasn't laughing when he died.
Speaker 1 (01:39:20):
She was traumatized.
Speaker 4 (01:39:21):
She hated it. Cassie Andando is the guy you tell
your boyfriend not to worry about. That's very true. That's
very true.
Speaker 3 (01:39:29):
And Tim was definitely the boyfriend at that point. But
Bix is very cool, very powerful, very funny. Not funny,
but like she kind of got this like sense of use.
There's a sense of like dark and whimsy about her.
Like she she'd be more whimsical if if depressed onness
wasn't so much. We didn't right exactly, there's an energy there,
(01:39:50):
I guess you could say, though, I love seeing that
passion in her. She has a lot of passion in her.
Marva who I love is again never one of those things.
She's not exactly an a less actor, but you're putting
a very unknown actor from knowing from the Harry Potter
series and a bunch of other things that she was in.
Fiona Shaw powerful as an actress, legend, and she does
(01:40:11):
a great job with the role she's given and she
works it out very well, and no one else me
to talk about it all.
Speaker 4 (01:40:17):
Well, this could be me.
Speaker 1 (01:40:19):
I mentioned this off air to Maddie.
Speaker 3 (01:40:21):
I watched episode of four yesterday as part of next
week's thing Dedra, and they didn't come until the fourth episode, right,
nothing from Dedri yet the fourth episode? No, no yet, Okay,
So to make sure I don't want to start talking
about that because I started watching that last night. That's
just not the imperial Okay. So we've never seen the
(01:40:41):
ant seen the imperial side of things yet. This is
the Ferres Angle, as I call it. It's all the
the the beginning parts of it. Yeah, so a lot
of cool soft a lot of goods set up, but
I feel like it's a little bit of un necessary
slow builds everything, And I think the rest of the
show really kind of takes off as we start.
Speaker 4 (01:40:59):
Introducing the imperial side of things.
Speaker 3 (01:41:00):
We start introducing mon Mathma and that arc, which is
always part of my favorite I'm a Big Man, matha Van,
I'm vast for a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:41:07):
We do Lise Moss for a little bit. That's to
its detriment.
Speaker 3 (01:41:10):
Mosque Actually again, no joke aside, Mosque is very necessary
in this first three episodes. He really adds that just
enough levity and just enough kind of like intrigue. He's
got the the energy to kind of keep the energy
up because the opress on this can kind of get
slow burn, It can kind of get you almost getting
like kind of slowing.
Speaker 1 (01:41:29):
The pace that kind of feels like you feel oppressed
at this point.
Speaker 3 (01:41:33):
Having the energy that Mosque gives lets you kind of
have something to gravitate towards energy wise. Even if you
don't like them, you don't want, you wanna, you don't want,
you know, agree with them necessarily, but like the.
Speaker 4 (01:41:43):
Reaction that you gave is just like this fucking guy,
this fucking guy, this guy.
Speaker 3 (01:41:52):
All right, so let's talk real quick. We had anything
else we have to talk about there? Okay, So we
go through the out strip club moment, which is kind
of cool. It's it was a great beginning the show
because we had shows exactly where we were. We had
the fascist guards, police force, we have castid end over
the down and out scum that they're gonna scum rat
that they're gonna throw themselves at and uh, but you
(01:42:14):
have the moment when they bit off more than they
can chew. The bullies bit off more they can chew
and what happens Boom dead. We have anti castie killing
the guy, just like in Row one. That was that
was almost like a repeat of twin Plant range. We're
just gonna kill this guy. And I remember watching Rogue
one of the first time, which we're gonna get into
eventually when we after enterested in too. We're gonna do
(01:42:35):
that rewatch finally. Man, that was a big shock of
the audience that because casting a Guardy two. So he's
a rebellion guy, he's a guy, he's a good guy
who killed.
Speaker 4 (01:42:43):
You're like.
Speaker 3 (01:42:49):
That, even though this is a even though it's a
similar kind of thing, and obviously the bad guy is
more of a easier killed than than a fellow inspired guy.
But overall it's a good thing.
Speaker 4 (01:43:02):
Overall, Like he said, he's done terrible things for the rebellion, Yeah,
he does, and he always has something he always will
till until the end of Scaiff.
Speaker 3 (01:43:12):
Barracks is a nice place to introduce to its and
it's got a nice setting wise for us. It's got
the very much aid down to earth, salt of the
Earth kind of vibe. Definitely again feeling that like that
late depression It's great seeing what happens with the Corset guys,
like they're the local government and they think for the
big fish in the little pond. Obviously we know what's
coming up. This is a rewatch how the Imperials eventually
(01:43:33):
start taking over. It's like, oh, you didn't you didn't
know how good you didn't know your asked? Better call somebody.
Speaker 4 (01:43:42):
I'll say. One way I did love but we forgot
to mention was the bit on the bus with that guy.
Speaker 3 (01:43:51):
You all know that guy, the guy that wants to
talk to you on public transportation, the guy that is
like he he just talks to people.
Speaker 1 (01:43:58):
He loves talking, he loves. One of my pet hates
a salesman.
Speaker 4 (01:44:02):
One of my absolute pet hates is like, if I'm
on a train going into the city and like it's
an empty carriage, someone has to that person that has
to come and sit opposite you, or has to come
and sit next to you just so they can talk
to you. I'm like, buddy, there is a whole carriage here.
You could have sit literally anywhere you can see. I
have my headphones on that I don't want to be bothered.
(01:44:23):
What are you doing right now?
Speaker 3 (01:44:24):
Yeah, I'm the same way. I'm not a big but
I like to be when I traveled, put my headphones on,
based out and you know what, I know, some people
are like that.
Speaker 1 (01:44:32):
Some people love being out there and talking to people
in the world.
Speaker 4 (01:44:35):
And you know, that's that's a way to live, and
that's what you like, and that's what you like.
Speaker 3 (01:44:37):
But yeah, don't don't talk to me about I know
you too well, because I don't want to talk to
you speaking. I want to sit down for music on
my podcast on and look out the window and contemplate life.
I don't have a time in my life when I
get to actually be alone with my thoughts, So let
me let me do that, let me be alone with
my thoughts. But it was it is fun to seeing
that guy Luthan basically being like us. It's like, yeah,
(01:45:00):
uh huh cool, mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (01:45:05):
I did love that though. That's good. I forgot anything else.
Speaker 1 (01:45:09):
Specifically about this episode that was memorable that we should
talk touch base on.
Speaker 4 (01:45:14):
Oh the saying that Cassium was from Fest. Oh yeah,
that was a nice little way to get around that.
Speaker 3 (01:45:25):
Yeah, yeah, I remember before like the exclopedia said he
was from fest and everything else, And now it's like, oh, yeah,
he said he was.
Speaker 4 (01:45:32):
From appreciate he's from Fast. And then it's like Mom
was like, no, we always said that you're from Fast.
I'm like, right, oh, okay, this is what I'm saying about,
like the sister thing, like there's those little things that
Tony girl was like, all right, there's that's We've said this.
We should probably.
Speaker 3 (01:45:49):
Either Tony Gilroy or it's like the other Lucas story.
At that point is what which is good? That's the
proper usage of Tony of the Star Wars story group
and I there to write your story, but they are
there to help you balance the story and to like
eventually as we'll see Phillip Luthen's shop with very interesting
trinkets that we can go, oh look at that, uh
(01:46:11):
kind of stuff. But yeah, absolutely these whipmons, right, that's
good stuff. All Right, I think that should probably deal with.
I think at this point anything else you want to
mention that it's a very again, it's a very introductory
three episode arc. We have the big action piece which
is going to reset that we go on at the
end of the episode Cassie and does make it off world,
(01:46:34):
off Ferrix with Luthen. I mean, you're going to see
what the next part of the Rebellion rings. Feryx is
left a little shaken, Tim Carlo dead, Bix not exactly happy,
and uh Marvin not exactly happy, but very happy.
Speaker 4 (01:46:47):
I see Tim dead.
Speaker 3 (01:46:48):
Of course, of course people have f'd up, and we
don't know what that's gonna be like going on, and
we know we've seen it before, but at this time
we didn't really know what that meant to have. Imperial
was gonna get involved, and I remember being slightly annoy it.
Not annoyed, not the right word. I again being a
bit of Mo Mapo Van. I knew mo Moth was
in this series, and I knew there's only a certain
amount of episodes. I was like, I didn't go to
(01:47:09):
see mad Mapa. Yeah, give me my mod mom. But
we get more of that next next hour as it well,
which we're gonna cover next week here on Holy Snokes.
So Mattie, work on the folks, find Joe.
Speaker 4 (01:47:19):
You can find me on social media everywhere at Matty Mourner,
and you can find me here every week for Holy
Snokes and for class Action once a month, which we
should really figure out what the fuck, we're gonna do this.
Speaker 3 (01:47:30):
We really do gotta get on that time one Paul
insparted the news on the old Blue Sky. That's where
I like to hang out. Social media wise, I can
find me all over. This challenge A show with PJ
Campbell now named two middle Aged Geeks on film. We're
no longer mut on the White guys. We are still
middle aged geeks, even though you are the only one
that was probably born in the Middle Ages.
Speaker 1 (01:47:51):
True true, very true, Pj's and middle aged soul. But
he said that's how it worked.
Speaker 4 (01:47:55):
How it works.
Speaker 3 (01:47:57):
We just finished that Marnell Street saga this week. We're
gonna go into Superman on our next episode, and a
nice little precursor if you want to join our Patreon
at patreon dot com slash pod projects, that's where two
middle aged geeks are gonna do their mc rewatch started
next week. We're gonna start with Iron Man in two
thousand and eight, and we're gonna go through all of
phase one that's Patreon exclusive or YouTube member exclusive for
(01:48:18):
at least a little while, and eventually eventually they'll find
their way to the channels like a fill in ark
or never. When we need to take a break or something,
but we will get there eventually. But got a lot
of stuff coming on there. We've got my Crown Jewels podcast,
my weekly Queen podcast I do on the sister YouTube channel,
but also on the audio feed Class Action. Like Maddie said,
we we had to get a hold of that and
figure out what we're gonna do. I do a review
