Speaker 1 (00:10):
PLD Projects presents Holy Snokes, a Star Wars podcast featuring
PLD and Mattie Gunner. You may the Force be with you,
always testing on time. What's up, everybody, what's going on?

(00:41):
Welcome to another episode of Holy Snokes. I almost had
a panic moment. I realized as I hit live that
my mic was unplugged. My mic is finicky, so I
was struggling back here for a second. So if you
heard me say testing, that's what that was. But uh,
I'm here not Maddie today. As you may have known
noticed or last Cleve if you've been watching, we have
kind of changed up our format here on Holy Snookes.

(01:04):
Doesn't mean we're always going to be a part, but
hopefully it's gonna be a different way we can do things.
Instead of doing the news and our topic of the week,
we're just going to do a bi weekly show. One
week will be the news, one week will be a
topic usually speared by Mattie. We our last episode, Mattie
did a great episode on Kisa and his connections to
Star Wars. Really was happy to see him give him

(01:25):
a cheatance to do something he's wanted to do for
a long time, something that I would love to have done,
but I didn't have I feel I had the right
amount of knowledge to really go in deep with my
head and watch the curisaw phones in a while. I
watched them when I was much younger, So I didn't
want to just sit here and be a love bt
of love, So I let him take care of that
solo And Matty doesn't really love talking about the news.
He's out of news guys. So ends up being we

(01:47):
have the two of us together, we'll put forth these episodes.
So the news episodes will most likely be myself alone
here by myself. It's okay, I can handle it. And
also the other week will be whatever the big topic
of we that we want to talk about thematically related
or whatnot. I will be joining Maddie for most of those.
There might be sometimes where Maddy does us some solo

(02:07):
shows as well, but it's a different way to do things.
This way to help us try to be a little
different than we had been, a little bit break the
norm of kind of like the every day what we
have been doing for weeks and weeks and weeks. We
will be doing our normal reaction like not reaction that
we'll be doing our normal reviews and things, and the
show's come out. So when the show comes down, we'll
be back every week doing our normal shtick with that.

(02:28):
But during the downtime, during the in between time, we're
just gonna do this a little bit, a little bit differently.
Hopefully you like it, Hopefully appreciate it, and let's get
to it. This week is the news week, and I
have not been in the news. We have not talked
about the news since about a month ago, so definitely
has some stuff built up since then. Obviously I've seen
the thumbnail the title. We are talking about mostly the

(02:50):
Sandy and Comic Con panels that happened yesterday and the
Emmys amount nominations. Now, usually we are on Thursdays, and
that's not going to change. I should I should mention
that up part as well. This Thursday was my week
to do the Holy Snooke News, but I also had
a prior engagement with my son. We went to see
The Fantastic Four in the theaters. What a great movie
that was. I'd spent a great month for comic book movies.

(03:13):
Superman was phenomenal, Fantastic Fourth phenomenal, a great year for
comic book movies, really. I mean, Thunderbolts was phenomenal as well,
and I liked Captain America Baverview World more than most.
Getting Harrison Ford as the Red Hope was good enough
for me. Although I know I guess your Miles me
Vera on that one, I understand the still overall pretty
pretty solid run. So when I came up, I decided

(03:33):
I was going to do Holy Snokes solo. But I
figured I could do it Thursday. I could just push
it back a day. But then I was like, well,
Friday is the San Idio Comic Con, Lucasfilm publishing panels
and Random House World publishing panels, so why do it
then either at this point, mind will just save it
the extra day so we can talk about that as
well anything that was revealed during those days. So I
figure that's why Saturday Live. I'll hit it, and if

(03:53):
you're here to join me, great, If not, you're watching
it's an after play or replay also great. But let's
yet going on a key off of some news that
happened a couple of weeks ago prior and work our
way down to the comic con. First up, about Asoka
season two news Avana Sanko promises a bigger and more
in depth journey. An Sonko was doing some press screens

(04:17):
that are press touring for Megan two and she was asked,
of course, about so season two, which has started filming. Now.
We have gotten a few hits and bobs, and one
of them will show you later on in the episode here,
But she couldn't speak much on it, which is which
makes sense. This is the kind of article that Maddie
decided that is why he doesn't want to talk about
the news, because you know, there's a lot of news
in this statement. But it's still fun to hear how

(04:39):
they react to me. It's still fun to hear how
the actors creators react to questions about that. Sometimes what
they don't say can be just as important as what
they do say. So her her response to that was,
you know, there's absolutely nothing I could speak on at
the moment. I wish I could share something at least
because it's such an exciting time for us to be
back together, are currently in the middle of filming it.

(05:01):
All I can say is that it's bigger and even
more in depth, and I'm really excited for people to
see it. It means the world I had a wonderful
stunt team and a personal trainer as well, where very
ground at people and honestly work a lot with energy
and being present in your own body with a quite
a bit krapmgod and different styles of fighting. We also
did tai chi and study the ability to move your
energy from one place to another in order to remain still.

(05:25):
So again, you know, not much there, but it does
get me excited. It just gets me excited that we
are back filming something obviously and over such a great
success all over the world. As we're going to get
to who it comes to Thatvy nominations as well, but
as always a Star Wars, it's like, okay, great, now
what's the next? Obviously have Mandalorian and group. We're coming
up film wise next year, which I'm looking forward to
as well. Hopefully we're going to get a trailer, a teaser,

(05:46):
I would say before too long. I think a Star
Wars being back in the theaters might mean we get
a little bit of a teaser much earlier than we
usually would we forced Veco's got what he made about
a year early, so it makes sense to get one,
you know, maybe a little earlier than the normal. But
this is the also the next next live action things
were getting as far as TV series goes. That's definitely

(06:07):
the next live action TV series we're getting on Disney Plus.
And I'm excited about as Oca season two. I think
as Ocus season two was kind of overheated by some
I know some people had some issues, and I'm not
crying that it didn't have some issues. There's definitely some
some flaws in there, but overall, I think it was
a better show than people give it credit for, and
I'm really excited to see what we do with season two.

(06:29):
Now the pieces are kind of in place, with this
dual set of storytelling. Of course we have a Soca,
and we have Sopen Sabine and well as Shinhan and
obviously the Balance Skull on the one world of Pretty
one Galaxy. And then of course we have Ezra Reid
iding with Hara and hopefully zeb and Chopper over on

(06:50):
the normal galaxy far far away to face up against Thron.
So I think we've got a lot of stuff coming up,
and I'm excited to see where we go from there.
Here and Christmason coming back as well, boys up from
more Aernika. At this point, give me Morinikin. I'm always
up from Morenacon. So that is the first bit of
news there. Van Asanko gone Evanna with her name Havana

(07:12):
season two. Hopefully I need some comments or let me
know in the chat what you think about that. Are
you excited about a SOCA season two? Are you not
excited about a Soca season two? What do you think? All? Right?
Next up another uh comments? That were you know, interesting?
I thought Mark Hamill opening up on his rationale for
Luke's mental state and The Last Jedi and praises Ryan Johnson.

(07:34):
Let me take you back back to the era of
The Last Jedi. Before it came out, Mark Hamill famously
had quotes where he basically said he disagreed with Ryan
Johnson on his director on his visualization of where Luke
was after all this time and what Luke's mindset was.
Famously said that he thought Luke would have doubled down

(07:55):
and not gone at the hiding, even though that was
the original intent from George Luke was even as well.
Of course, the people took the most comments and ran
with that Luke that Mark Hamill hated the Last Jedi,
that hated Ryan Johnson, and it couldn't be further from
the truth. It's okay that an actor could disagree with
necessarily something that wasn't prided on page and he just

(08:16):
had a hard hard time with it. But he did
his best job to go with it. But he definitely
did not at all hate Ryan Johnson then so far
as the truth, and he wanted to clarify. He stated,
here's the thing, and I'd love to clear this up.
Ryan Johnson is one of the most gifted directors I've
ever worked with. He's amiable, he's fun on set, he's smart.
He made a great movie. I think the stage in

(08:36):
the standout between Colin Ren, Adam Driver and I at
the end, it's so well staged, foreshadowing that I'm not
really there. Adam went to snoway and you see the
red plant and the I wait the snow and it's
just snow. It's so subtle. I love Knives Out and
Brick and Looper. He's one of my favorite directors. The
key point of contention was the reason behind Lou's decision
to become a seuicaddle hermit. He talked about this as well.
I kept saying to Ryan that that would just make

(08:58):
Luke double down, and he said, well, your class Jedi
Academy will wiped out. I said, Ryan, I saw entire
planets wiped out. If anything, Luke doubles down or hardened
his resolve in the face of diversity. So that's all.
He explained the reason why his disagreement was that the
events and detailed the flashback weren't enough in his mind
for Luke to being a mental state. He was in
the first two installments of the sequel trilogy just to
buy his own story his performance, and molasti if he

(09:18):
could create his own backstory for Luke and created a
much darker event in his mind note was shown on screen.
I thought, what could make someone give up devotion to
what is basically a religious entity to give up being
a Jedi. Well, love of Oh, so he falls in
love with a woman, he gives up being a Jedi.
They have a higher challenge together. At some point, the child,
as a toddler, picks up an untended lightsaber, pushes the
button that's killed instantly. Wife is so full of grief

(09:38):
she kills herself. I thought that would be because I
heard his horrible story about these children you find unintended
guns and wind up dead and resonated with me so deeply.
While Hamley used this idea to informance performance, director Ryan
Johnson elected to show Luke's backstory Imperial linked the events
of the Jedi Temple, but the actor did degree that
was enough to explain Luke's story. He reiterated his respect
for the director and lamented that his comments may have
given some fancy idea that he dislikes Johnson. Well, that said,

(10:02):
and I told Ryan this, despite the fact that I
disagree with their choices for Luke, I'm going to do
everything with my power to make her screenplay work as
best as I can. The only unfortunate thing about that
is I've heard comments from fans who think I somehow
dislike Ryan Johnson and nothing to me further from the truth.
Well what do you think about that? Guys? I don't know.
What do you think about that? Luke's backstory in Mark

(10:24):
Hamill's mind. I'm kind of glad at and showed that.
I think that would have went a little bit too
much for the movie what they're trying to go for.
As far as ray story and everything else goes, I
look as an important part piece to that story. But
I think that might have been a little bit too far,
too dark. I mean, I know some people actually projected
that predicted that at the NFS awakens, they saw the
I'd looked through the lightsaber over the shoulder and had

(10:47):
some swirling camera shot as we were watching withho faded
away I did. So they showed them down a rock
there and it looked like a gravestone. So people thought
that that was the fact that maybe mar jams Mark
j was dead and that's why Luke had have gone
away in his head. I don't know. I guess i'd
have to see how it actually was depicted. It definitely

(11:09):
would have been some real life, literal life alliteration is
there talking about like you mentioned, I killed kids finding
the an attended guns and killing themselves that way. We've
seen that throughout the world today. So having that an
interesting connection to the real world in a way. Sometimes
you know, Star Wars has these connections to the real world,
whether you think they do or not. So I don't know,
it would have been interesting, But I guess I can't

(11:32):
say I'm glad they didn't know, because I'd have to
see how it developed and how it showed. But the
most important thing about this is Mark Hamill said he
made a great movie, so he does not hate the
last Jedi. He does not hate Ryan Johnson. A lot
of that has been overblown by people who have well
they have their own agendas, I guess, and that's you know,
that's the way of the world nowadays. Unfortunately, what do

(11:54):
you think you leave me a comment on that when
you think about Mark Hamill's backstory, would you like to
have seen it? Do you think I think it was
too far? Do you think Marxist covered himself? Now? Who knows?
Let me know what you think of the comments, and yeah,
I'll get back to you next up. I'm another more
Ascas season two news. We're popped. Four directors were revealed
and that was exciting. It's always good to hear who's

(12:14):
going to be coming back to directing live action TV series,
newcomers and returnings alike. New Agency had elicted that four
of the directors for a Socus season two included Star
Wars regular Star Wars Disney Plus directors Dave Filoni that's
the big shocker, and Bryce Dallas Howard, who has not
done in the Soak episode yet, so that is very

(12:36):
big news. Bryce Dallas. Howard has been a fan of
favorite since she started, since he did her Mandalory episode.
She's made a couple of different episodes throughout the Star
Wars Galaxy Far Far Away, including Skeleton Crew and getting
her a chance on the Ahsoka set. That's an awesome
idea because she has definitely been a standout director for
the Disney Plus shows. All of our episodes are usually

(12:57):
the most the highest regarded of the whatever season they
are in. I't think she's done a bad episode yet,
so yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing what she can
do with the Soca or with Ezra and Company as well.
That's pretty exciting. Other listed where Jennifer Getzenger and Anders Engstrom.
Those are the other two directors that have been announced
at this point. Uh Engston, I believe it is a

(13:21):
Disney Plus vet. Yes, he directed Disney Plus is Percy
Jackson Olympians and seventeen episodes of Apple TV's Pluses C
which is either with her or on a cohen either
on his own or with a co or the co director.
I'm sorry, I take that backt that's Engstrom. Engstrom direction
of three episodes of Percy Jackson Olympians, and an Apple
TV plus the see and this is his first time

(13:43):
in the new Star Wars atmosphere as well. Uh, that's awesome.
I love getting new directors and new things. I like
Percy Jackson series, so that's really good. I haven't seen
c so I can't talk much about that. Jennifer gets
the Ger did direct to the series before. Previously, she
had directed Part six Far Far Away, so making her
return to Ahsoka as well, so interesting to seeing where

(14:04):
that's gonna go. We don't know at this point whether
these are the only directors of the season, and usually
there's eight episodes. At this point, I betting Felonis directing
at least at least Filonis directing more than one. Employe's
probably directing the first and the last, that's as he
usually does. Perhaps Howard is directing more than one as well,
so perhaps there are more announcements to be made or
more least to be discovered, or this is it that

(14:27):
could be an interesting way to do it. To see
a lot to see. Hopefully that comes in. What do
you think? Though excited about this news, are excited mostly
about Bryce Dallas Howard getting a shot at the Ahsoka storyline.
Let me know in the comments, like I said, all right,
next up, more Last Jedi. I could have together, I guess,
but I'm got doing more of these timeline words when
the announce the news came out within the last month.

(14:48):
That's why guy and going back and forth. Ryan Johnson
was talking about the Last Ji, and he also talked
about the Right Skywalker and his famed future Star Wars
trilogy that is kind of still up in the air.
It seems like more and more it's not going to
happen as many people predicted. But let's get into the
quotes and we can talk about that after that. Johnson

(15:10):
has talked first about the Wholdo maneuver, which is a
very famous part of the Last Jed. I obviously, he stated,
it was always in my head with han Tell's luked
that without the right calculations, they could fly into a
star and that you're head on your trip real quick,
wouldn't it. I thought, well, that's physically possible. What would
that look like? It seemed like something that was low
hanging fruits to me in a way, But I knew
that if we were going to use it, we'd have
to use it in a very big way. This can't

(15:31):
be a casual thing that happens this week. We should
build the whole Return of the Jedi as three plot
lines converging thing around this moment, which interesting. I think
that's definitely an interesting I haven't heard him talk about
it too much before, but that definitely makes sense. It's
it's a wonderful moment. I know some people have some
issues with it in terms of like, well, why don't
people do that all the time. It's Good's a fictional
universe and the things happen like this sometimes you come

(15:52):
up with the new ideas, and I think it's kind
of cool. I thought it was a very standout moment,
So I think he succeeded with what he wanted to
do more importantly, or more news importantly. Why is something
that I'm very interested to hear about. I don't know
if you are. But the interview brought up the rise
of Skywalker, which from his point of view, sort of
undermined the moment from Johnson's movie, along with other key

(16:13):
points so like ray being and nobody. Johnson explained how
he was not disappointed in the least when watching the movie. Now,
before I get to the quone, yes, of course, I
don't think he was ever gonna talk bad about the movie, So, like,
I understand that that's the argument. Well, he's not gonna
talk shit about the movie. It's he's still like Scott,
He's like Star Wars. He's not gonna talk shit about
his own fellow director J. J. Abrams, et cetera. But

(16:36):
you know what, I can only take things as they're
given to me. So I'm gonna take this at at
least somewhat at Bates value, understanding that there might be
more that's left unsaid. But what he said was pretty
pretty straightforward, because when I saw the movie, I had
a great time watching it Again, It's all about point
of view. I never approached this as like a territory.
I'm carving out for my thing, my perspective. JJ did

(16:57):
the same thing with the third. I'd be the second
is not digging it up and undoing, just telling the
story the way that was most compelling going forward. That
means not just validating what came before, but reconteptualizing it
and evolving and changing the story as it moves forward.
I didn't feel resentful in some way, but you're talking
about a movie made by my friends. With my friends
in I sit down and watch a movie and it's
a Star Wars movie. It's all stuff I love. I'm

(17:18):
not the one that comes to you for a heart
hitting city critique. You can go to YouTube for that.
I did like that last bit. I thought that was
kind of a funny. Maybe Oh, get the bear to
some of the people who have gotten on him over
the years. It continues on from that. Never feels good
to have anybody coming after you on the internet, especially
coming after you saying things that I think I very

(17:38):
much do not agree with. But a thing I made
and put a lot of heart and soul into. At
the same time, having grown up a Star Wars fan
ultimately lets me contemptualize it and feel at peace with
it in many different ways. Just remembering going back on
one level to arguing on the playground about Star Wars
as a kid, and I was in college when the
prequels came out. My friends and I were prequel hate central.
Everyone was ruthless at that time. Of course, now the

(17:59):
prequels are raised. I'm not saying that as a fast style. Oh,
things will clip around in twenty years. You'll see. It's
more of this push and pull and his hatred and
stuff that seems new. This is all part of being
a Star Wars fan. Culture wore garbage aside. I think
that essential part of it is a healthy part. Nothing
really happened with and then okay, so that the statements
on the last Jedi and ride a Skywalker, and I

(18:19):
like what he's saying there. I think he's he's smart
to just say basically, hey, I enjoyed the film. It
didn't I agree with them. I don't. I still don't
get the idea that he that JJ undid everything. Uh
he just because he didn't change some things. It just
didn't flow the way you expected it to or you
thought it would. Like the fact that that Ray was

(18:40):
a nobody and wasn't a nobody. Our villain tells her
she's a nobody, and our villain tells things all the times,
and we were always supposed to believe that the villain
is a reliable narrator. I don't think that's necessarily undoing
what they said. That's undoing what eight characters said. That's
just revealing that Kilo, oh my Kilo lied in an
attempt to manipulate her, which is something he was shown

(19:01):
to be doing the entire movie. He was trying to
manipulate her into joining him. So it makes a lot
of sense in the world that he would be the
one he'd be lying about that, or perhaps he didn't
even know. We don't even know at this point, So
I only that was undoing of anything. I think a
lot of things that get overblown about how I mean,
I get the flaws of the Rise of Skywalker hat
If you want to tell me it's a video game movie,

(19:21):
it's a level movie and it goes from A to
B to see without like whatever much depth for you,
that's fine. If you don't like that, Rais and I
don't nobody. That's an argument I've always thought was I
was not on the side of I always thought that
if you have that viewpoint, that's fine. I get everybody
has their own viewpoint. I always thought the riot race
should be somebody, because while I love the idea of

(19:43):
a Jedi coming from nowhere or a hero coming from
nowhere and not even in blood to be like to
be the savior, the whatever, the protagonist. I like that,
but I think I like that more as not part
of the skywalkersaga. Skywalkersaga has always been about the Skywalker's
This is non vevering into the era of why is

(20:03):
rays Skywalker? I'm always gonna say, right, yst Skywalker. Maybe
it's because I'm adopted, so I maybe that helps my
viewpoint on this. But to me, I think it was
a very strong statement for her to make, very strong statement.
I was a Palpatine, I am choosing to reject that heritage,
and I'm choosing to be a Skywalker because Star Wars
is all about the choices we make, the choices we make,

(20:25):
and the choice that she made was to become a
Skywalker and to give that name, that that name which
is now the symbolizing the hope of from Luke and
from Leah, even from Anakin back in the day, considering
whom I would help, which the government know. I mean,
I know there's love lines, it's reveal that LEAs or
his daughter all this stuff. But Skywalker, the name Skyker
itself is a name of hope. So she's choosing hope.

(20:47):
She's choosing the right thing. So to me, that's the
way it should be. I like that aspect. It reminds
me very I know I'm in the minority that you're
at all the time but I'm in the minority a
lot of things. I tend to like things more than
other people, and I'm not gonna I'm not gonna defend
that or not gonna make justifications for it, because honestly,
if you like something, I'm happy to like something better
for me. I'm but I think it's interesting what he

(21:09):
says about that I do. Interesting thing that he says about,
like hating the prequels and et cetera, et cetera. I
think it's a good point. I would. I am curious
to see where we are twenty years from now or
tenure ten to fifty more years from now where the
sequels will be held in the Star Wars fandom. But
I guess we'll find out now. The big news part
from this was his comments on his trilogy back in

(21:30):
the day. This is not a story which I think
really really got overblown. Is it something that when I
read the quote, I said, that sounds about what I thought.
But want to read the quotes now and then we'll
have the conversation on it. Nothing really happened with the
other trilogy. We had a great time working together and
they said let's keep doing it. I said, great, I'll

(21:51):
kick your ideas around Kathol Kennedy. The sharp version is
Knives Out happened. I went often made Knives Out and
was off to the races, busy making murder mysteries sort
of thing of down the line is an opportunity to
do stuff or do something else in Star Wars, I
would be thrilled, But right now I'm just doing my
own stuff and pretty happy. He then added there was
never any outline or treatment or anything, whether it was
because of pr because there was an actual intention of

(22:12):
doing it someday, but Lucasfilm and Johnson were saying for
years that this was one of those projects that were
in the works of the company and they would get
around to it at some point. Now, almost eight years
after it was announced, all the parties seemed to have
moved on. So here's what I here's the thing. People
have in lamb basing this for a long time. Oh,
it's never gonna happen. He shouldn't get it. This was
announced before I before the movie came out, they announced

(22:34):
they were going to do a trilogy. Here's what happened.
I think I'll make I think I'll translate a little
bit to see maybe this makes more sense to everybody,
and if it does, hopefully you see things away I
see them or not. Let me know in the comments,
let me know in the chat. Ryan did this film
Last Jedi, and from all accounts, it was a very
happy set. Everyone's very happy with the besides Bart Cable's

(22:55):
disagreement about his motivations. Beyond that, Kathin Kennedy love working
Ryan john and everybody said they loved working with Ryan Johnson.
I was amiable director, loved the director, did everything he
needed to do, got everything done on time, got everything
done on budget, and told the story that he wants
to tell. Everybody seemed to have a great time so
much for the Kathleen Kennedy probably was like, Hey, you
know what, I really enjoyed this. I enjoyed this working relationship.

(23:18):
We should do this again. I have the power as
Lucasfilm's head on show. Why don't we give you the
entire trilogy on your own? Because you know what, maybe
that's what should have happened. Instead of doing director's director director,
we should give someone a full director a three episode
or give your Earth three episode trilogy, or just like
the old days, give that to you. Ryan. What do
you think, and Ryan's like, hey, you know what, that

(23:38):
sounds awesome. I'll kick around some ideas. I have some
ideas floating around there. Let's talk about that. You know what.
Right now we're concentrating on this though. I'm concentrating on
getting like last, shutting out, and then we'll see what
happens in the future. We'll definitely definitely revisit these talks
at some point some time. Over time, he got knives out,
he started doing stuff, he got busy. Kathleen Kennedy and
him don't talk as much. I think they asked questions.

(24:00):
That's always in the back. I was said, yeah, I'm
gonna get that something. I'm doing this right now. I'm
going to get back to that. I love the idea
of doing it. I think that was always the way,
and that's never been anything but the way. I mean
the ority that Kathleen Kennedy did announce it, and maybe
she shouldn't have announced it like the way she did.
But I don't think it was ever any kind of
like dropping the ball. It was kind of like they
were excited about it. She wanted it to happen. It

(24:20):
was always a case at that time. It was a
case of not if, but when and now as time
has gone on and Kathleen Kennedy is perhaps preparing to leave,
we know those rumors are out there, and she's kind
of mentioned that the succession plans are getting in place
depending on when that happens. Ryan Johnson has struck it
go big with Knives Out. He's enjoying doing those series.

(24:42):
So it got to the point where it's like, oh well,
it became more of a from a when to and
if and now that if Kathleen Kennedy does leave. It's
Ryan's key point there. It's a new regime on Lucasfilm,
so of course has a new place they might not want.
Disney might not want to revisit Ryan Johnson because of
the divisiveness of the last jenn I think it's a mistake.
I think Ryan Johnson a phenomenal filmmaker. I'd argue it.

(25:04):
Then I'll argue to it now that all the arguments
I've heard about Ryan and Johnson are with regard to
the ot characters and the connections, et cetera. So I
think if you take that out, it already said it's
a beautiful looking film and everything else. I think if
you give him his own new trilogy that's completely separate
from Sycher Slava and a different part of the galaxy

(25:24):
whatever or whatever. I think you take out all of
that baggage and you let him cook. I think that
would be a great film or a great trilogy potentially.
So will it ever happen? I guess probably not at
this point. Probably it seems like they've all moved on.
But Ryan still said he would like to do it
someday if things happen to work out. So who knows.
But I don't think that ever. Like the narrative in

(25:45):
the clickbaiting of the news is like, oh, the announced
it and they dropped the ball and it's not happening. Well, okay,
I think it was just more a case of one
a little over zealous. I love working with you, let's
get this done, and it just kind of just slowly
they worked. Apart from it, nothing seditious, nothing happened. It's

(26:07):
just the way of the world. So there. I was
happy to hear that. I was happy to hear him
clarify that. I think it finish clarified exactly or confirms
what I have believed in the entire process. So your
miles mean, VERI, what do you think about it? He
those comments? Let me know all right? Next up, we
Got and Or season two, receiving fourteen Prime Time Emmy nominations,

(26:31):
including Outstanding Drama Series. Let's talk about that. This is
the positive side of things. First complete list of and
Emmy is Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Guest direct Guest Actor
and Forrest Whitteker, Outside Directing for Janice mess directing Who
Are You, Outstanding writing by Dan Gilroy for Welcome to
the Rebellion, Outstanding Character voiceover performance from Robotics Straordinary joy

(26:55):
Stordinary Alan Tudik, Outstanding Production Design for Again for Who
Are You, Outstanding Cinematography for Harvest, Outstanding Fantasy Sci Fi
Costumes for Harvest for Michael Wilkinson, Outstanding Picture Editing for
Who Are You, Outstanding Musical Composition for Who Are You?
Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for We at the Gore

(27:16):
for Who Are You? Out Standing Sound Editing for Who
Are You? Outstanding Sound Mixing for Who Are You? And
Outstanding Special Visual Effects. Oh. I'd also like to say additionally,
The Act to Lite is also Emmy nominated series For
all the Haters out There now Standing Outstanding sound editing
for the episode five night of the Big Stranger Reveal episode,

(27:39):
so the actually it also was nominated, So that's amazing
that we got all these nominations. Obviously, Disney pushed hard
for anywhere to get these award nominations and the were rewarded. Now,
quite frankly, I think the I shouldn't say the big awards,
but I feel like that's the narrative. The bigger awards
like the director of the acting and the overall series.

(28:00):
It's not to say that cinematography, editing also extremely important,
extremely important, and I don't think this. I think most
of our viewers and most of Star Wars fans understand
that those are extremely important as well. They really are
all on the same level of each other. However, the
narrative in the media, the narrative as it is, is

(28:21):
that the and for the I mean boards and these
award givers, that those are like the sci fi fantasy places,
whereas the actor and director those are the big ones.
So they'll get the low the lower quote unquote lower
awards while they're missing going to miss out on the
bigger awards. But the fact that they get nominated for

(28:42):
the quote unquote Bigger Awards. Is awesome that they got
a sounding drama series, Awesome, Forest Beector getting a nomination,
Awesome directing and writing character, all those awesome. Now there's
the flip side. We do have a large ring of people,
or a large grouping of very worthy nominations. However, the

(29:05):
fact that Diego, Luna Stealing Scarsguard, Ichard Jonah, my personal favorite,
Jenny you O'Reilly, none of these people got nominated for
their acting performances, and yet White Lotus got like everybody
who's in the cast. That's the problem I have. But

(29:26):
I guess that you could take out a White Lotus
or two or somebody that and put in one of
these performances that deserve it for nothing else. So, like,
you know, if they don't win, I don't expect them
to win, because that's just not gonna happen for sci Fi,
for Star Wars, there's still that kind of ceiling that's
there for boards and everything. But getting them the nomination
would have been a win for them. They absolutely deserved.

(29:47):
They put their heart and soul into it. Tony Gilroy
specifically came out and had a nice interesting view on
it that I try and take the heart, he said,
there's a lot of performances that I wish were recognized
Diego Luna and and Nieville Riley. There are a dozen performances.
These aren't only great moment to moment performances. These are epic,
long term character studies that they've done over twenty four episodes.

(30:08):
I think the ultimate of victory is that these performances
will be celebrated and discussed for years to come. I
feel confident about that, and maybe that's the true thing.
Maybe over the course of the next couple years, we'll
come back to these performances and they'll be known, and
hopefully I'm hoping that it's gotten enough notice in the press.
You know, they don't get the award or even a nomination.
How well people liked their performances, and I knew ver

(30:31):
Rallley get bigger performances or get more work from the SEGO,
getting more workers. That's the important thing. These performers deserve
something for what they gave us. They were wonderfully uh
wonderful cast, wonderfully performed. Just sad. I'm just sad that
they don't get their nomination. Again, I would have understood

(30:51):
that they didn't win, but I feel like I think
we could have gotten one or two of them. You're
not all even at all of them. I get they
could see. The thing is I don't like it with
the whole cast is nominated, like wait, lotus too many,
too many for me too, people having being weird and
having fun. It gets a good Warkler Seri, water Cooler
series and everything else I've ever watched it, So I
can't argue who would be. I just think, like so

(31:14):
many people from one show just kind of like the Loots,
that you should be able to celebrate a few more
stories and so give me Genevieva Roley, please give me Davila.
It is what it is, but either way I should do.
You want to celebrate the positive, excited to see what
goes down. I can imagine what I feel like if

(31:34):
something big one if I Star Wars one and Emmy
like if they and or one drama series, I don't
think it's gonna happen. That would be an amazing shot
in the arm. That would be amazing, like validation for
Star Wars fans. I imagine what that would do for
the brand. I think that'd be a wonderful thing overall,
getting people to come, oh check it out, people who
might be like, you know what, Star Wars, there's still

(31:54):
people out there. Tony Giler I talked about all the time,
how like he got to people and go, yeah, but
did you are talking out like you know, Michael Clayton
or something, and he's like and then and Tony Guardy
would have to like, well, yes, but you're seeking and
Or because that's the most important thing I've ever done.
They're like, yeah, but Star Wars Pep got to get
through those people's heads. That is more than just Pepo.
And now there's a thing wrong with keep you very sad.

(32:17):
But I think that we all speak clarify. I got
to go back and forth on this. I love the
begin and Or and Skeleton Crew the same universe. I
love that Mandalorian same universe, love it, absolutely love it.
Young Jedi Adventures, same universe. Absolutely love it. But either way,
I'm I'm excited to get something. Hopefully we can get
a big win from somebody. I'm hoping. I think there

(32:37):
is hope for a potential for directing or writing potential.
That's another one that's like almost like if it was
in the tier of the bigger writing bigger awards. That's
like the second tier now, so let's still be a
big win. I don't hold how much over drama series
or for Forrest unfortunately, but we'll have to see. We
shall see. So let me know what you think about
the Emmys and whether you're celebrating it or you cry it,

(33:00):
or are you somewhere in the middle like I am.
We'll find out, hopefully when they win. But hopefully when
something wins, we'll get back to you and we'll talk
about it again, I'm sure. Also one last bit about
Tony Gilroy. During that talk about and Emmy Acting, Emmy
Noms and everything else, he did have a comment answer
a question fan. Finally, one question fans I've been dying

(33:21):
to know since Andrewserson two, and it is whether or
not Tony Gilroy would ever come back to You're not
to another Star Wars project. Previously, Gilroy had emphasized the
desired to do something different and spending most of the
last decade working on indoor. This type of his answer
was a little more hopeful, said, I'm prepping a movie
now to shoot in La next year. It's not on

(33:42):
the menu right now. I'll never say never. It seems
to me that maybe he's softening given some time away,
given the fact he got his next project, he can
do his next project. Maybe it feels like the longer
time goes on, the more he would like. And I
think that Kathleen Kennedy should strike while the iron is
hot and say, yes, give him a movie. Give him

(34:04):
a movie to do, because that may be a less
something that's a less stressful than a five year or
most of a decade plenty on and or give him
a movie to do so he can kind of tip
his toes back in and I think we can have
something wonderful. So it's my thoughts on it. Your mind's
been very all right, Let's get to San Diego Comic Con.

(34:27):
Star Wars kind of had a big presence without having
a like a presence as far as films or TV
shows go, quite honestly, but they did have a lot
of little panels, panels all or like publishing panels. We'll
talk about mostly versus Haasbro panel. We have the panel
tomorrow which I'm not going to cover obviously now, but
George Lucas is going to be there and that's going
to be Star Wars related obviously, although the panel is

(34:48):
set for the Lucasfilm Museum of Narrative Art. That's what
he's pushing. Obviously, Lucas has struggled to get this thing
going for years, trying to do it in San Francisco,
trying to to it in Chicago, now doing it. I
believe in la or Anah. I'm and he basically doing

(35:09):
this to generate interest because it's a lot of money.
Even for George Lucas, there was a lot of money,
and he's got to get people interested so it doesn't fail.
I think it's a phenomenal idea. I would love to
visit this. I'm open to business when it opens, perhaps
if it opens the same time as Star Wars celebration.
During that I go during that time, And if I

(35:29):
get to go to that, I'm very, very, very excited
about it. It's George Lucas, It's Doug Chang, Giamo del
Toro are all on the panel. It's moderated by Queena
TITHA interesting choice, but either way, it's wonderful having George
come to comic Con for the first time. I'm sure
there's gonna be a lot of Star Wars stories as well,
but I'm actually very interested to see what the Lucas

(35:51):
Museum is going to look like, what they're gonna show
us from that, and what the idea and concept is.
Either way, I can't wait for it to happen because
I'm excited for it. So all right, the other news
be gone, or we'll talk about the publishing panels. Mostly,
we did get two images from upcoming Star Wars projects.
I'll put the first one off there. This is the
first still from shadow Lord, the Darth Maul animated or

(36:13):
the Mall animated series that's coming out, I believe early
twenty twenty six, I said twenty twenty six. I guessing
early on. My guess is that this comes out in
the first part of the year. Then we'll get Mandoin
Bergrew and then the Shoka will be in the Fall.
That's my prediction on that. It's stark Fall is God
the holds out of Lightsaber. It looks great. I don't know.

(36:35):
I mean, I love these little still just because being
excited that we're getting closer and closer to it. That's
why I look at it. I'm very excited about this show.
I know my co host Maddy would be here if
this is the part he would love to be here
to talk about this, because that's that's his boy. Obviously,
I like the idea behind the show as part of me.
Obviously I've said it before. I do kind of wish

(36:57):
we would get away from this era a little bit animated.
We've told love stories animated, and I love this era,
so don't get me wrong, but I would have preferred
like an animated like Posters from the Jedi Luke conlea
anthology like the Clone War or something like that, and
then you know Luke and the Jedi order that kind
of thing. I love that. I would love a Higher
Republic animated series. I think that'd be kind of cool
to get into at the point. But once they get

(37:20):
past that initial game and say disappointment, when they get
past the initial over my initial desires. This is a
fun one to tell because this can touch on so
many different levels. We get a dark side storyline, like
from a villain villain point of view, which we're he's
not gonna I don't think they're gonna soften him at all.
It'll give you a little bit more vulnerability to him,
but like he'll still be making his decisions as he

(37:43):
makes them. But we get to touch on the underworld,
we could touch on the Clone story with this, we
could touch on a lot of different areas, and so
I'm excited to see where they go with it. There's
a lot of different people he could connect with, some
storylines that can connect together. We can get some more.
We've got some more stuff to talk about with the
hot Path, with the Clone rebellion, with how Mal got

(38:04):
to Malacoor when we see him on Rebels. There's a
lot of cool stuff to dive into. So I think
it's great if we're gonna do it more on this storyline.
Just a good way to allow for a lot of
different stories to connect. It's kind of funny in a way.
I'm glad Matn is not here, only because he probably
slam for this. I'm actually more interested in the surroundings

(38:24):
of Mall rather than more matter than Mall's story itself.
I'm we're gonna get good things from all, but I'm
more intrigued to say, where are we gonna what else
we're gonna touch on? Where where's it gonna connect to
as being as we're gonna connect a lot more than
just Mall from point A to point B. But either
way excited. The second image wasn't called still, so I'm
not sure if it's still over just an image, but

(38:46):
from SOAKA season two, here is our Ezra Bridger, clean shaven,
now little scar there uh definitely has those contexts on
and make those baby blues even brighter. I love how
he loves I think he looks even more like Ezra
that he did obviously in season one. This is him
returning to az your Bridger form with with hera and

(39:07):
now the rebel lines. That looks like I am excited
to see this more and more. This actually got me
pretty hyped up for Ah Soca, so I can't wait
to see where this goes. For sure. A great shot,
great shot of em and Jenny, and yeah, I'm very
excited about it. So all right, let's move on now
to the rest of the publishing panel. Some interesting things
we're talking about. We've got a few announcements overall, I

(39:28):
will I can never say I'm disappointed. There's a couple
of things I would hope to get. I kind of
knew this wasn't gonna happen, but with the ending of
the High Republic, I'm always like what next? More and
more and more, and I want to know if there
was going to be another big multi media style initiative
like the Higher Republic and something more connected like that.
We didn't get anything like that. All announcements were more

(39:50):
standalone type stuff, which is fine. I do some more
stories and them. I still like the stories we're getting.
I just I love those big overall arcs. Get Lets
the books, the young adult novels and the comics that
they're intertwined. Lets them tell this really epic storyline that
we haven't touched on as far as everything else goes.
So nothing there, unfortunately, but we are talking about the

(40:11):
end of the Higher Public and everything else. So let's
talk about what came out. I had some great, great reveals.
High Republic announced, I didn't announce I shouldn't say the announced.
But one of the bigest things they talked about coming
soon and this big to this podcast is the finale
of Higher republic Sphase three trials. The Jedi came out,
and that is like kind of like the big finale

(40:32):
per se. But there is this kind of like a
couple of things that had to like trickle out afterwards. Obviously,
the Higher Public Adventures just finished. That was finishing up
the Battle of Ariadu and now the High Republic. The
finale is coming up and July thirtieth from Marvel, written
by Cavin Scott, all roads lead back to Dalna, and
I think this is kind of like the epilogue, which

(40:54):
is like the final point we are getting supposedly the
story of why Kiev trenish is among the Law, So
I think that's kind of like what the big focus
will be on. I can't wait to finish it up.
I've really really enjoyed the Higher Public a lot, as
someone who loved Phase one, fell out of it a
little bit during Phase two, came back to the vengeance

(41:14):
in Phase three. I'm actually rereading the entire thing now
from the beginning, actually going back to Phase two and
reading pace two again, and that good news is actually
liking Phase two more the second time through. I guess
maybe because I have the finale. I think I was
impatient with what Phase two was doing. I wanted to
get more on like you end with Phase one the
way they ended it. I'm like, and then you're gonna
make me wait a couple of years to get back

(41:35):
to that story and to all these news stories about
other things that really somewhat aren't connected or tangentially connected.
Perhaps now that I know that ending, I can go okay,
I can take this for what it is, and I'm
definitely enjoying it a little bit more this time around.
But I'm excited about the Higher Public ending. It was
a great I think it was a great ending with Childs,
the Jedi, and the Commis had a great run as well.

(41:55):
Some stories are better than others, and that's always gonna
happen with these big initiatives, but overall, a big thumbs up.
But you shuredn't be talking about that more because that
is our next episode, our next episode of Holy Snokes
in two weeks will we Maddy and I getting together.
And I'm just kind of recapping the Higher Republic now
that it's over, talking about our favorite bits and pieces
and our favorite stories and there are no favorite characters,
and maybe think where we're gonna go from there, because

(42:17):
that was one of the announcements that was not announcement.
I shouldn't say wasn't on the announcement, but Michael Sidlan,
who was the overall architect, got getting the authors together
part as product Luminus. It goes he said that we
were finishing up with the Higher Republic initiative, but we
are not finished up with the Higher Public era, so
we're getting more stories from the Higher Public era. Unfortunately,

(42:39):
we didn't get any announcements on that. That's kind of
when they opened up the panel that way, I was like,
oh cool, So maybe at the end we would get
like a tease of if not the next initiative, at
least would get something like, oh, here's the next tie
your novel or Vernestra novel or or something like that.
They kind of connect those in together. But they are forthcoming,
and we'll get them sooner then later, I'm sure at
some point. But what else do do we get? That's

(43:01):
the big thing Young Jedi Adventures are speaking of. The
Higher Public is getting another issue, another collection, including a
news story in that after the Young the youngest of
our padawans the younglings out there, the younglings should enjoy this,
for sure. I gotta said the Young Jedi Adventures as
a whole. I watched them because it's Star Wars. I
went through it, and obviously it's for preschoolers, and so

(43:24):
what you got to set your sights on that as
it were. But considering the audience. There were actually some
kind of actually a fun lower bits in there. It's
not something I'll ever rewatch, probably, but I was glad
to have watched it once through some more. I wouldn't
say adult things, but things that you can get. Star
Wars is kind of a universal thing that some of

(43:44):
the themes and everything are universal for adults and kids.
And he just told them more childlike fashion. That's not
a big deal. But yeah, so this is not Young
Jedi Adventures continuing with that way. Obviously. Season three is
coming out at some point. Getting the Art of the
act like that's what we're getting in January thirteenth, twenty
twenty sixth They of the Higher Public two is coming
out soon. I can't wait for that. I finally got
the Art of the Higher like one. I've been kind

(44:04):
of leaping through that recently and it's great book. Wonderful
book now that I get. Now they'm complete, I'm going
back and looking at all this stuff that I with
the knowledge of how the story goes is really kind
of cool. You are the actlete coming January thirteen, twenty
twenty six where you get some images from that, I
will say the only negative I have about this is
January thirteen, twenty twenty six. The show was in twenty

(44:28):
twenty four. I believe, right, it's been left many years.
It's the accolae. I believe that's just too long in between.
Like these are the kind of things that I don't
know what Lucas Films thinking about this stuff, but like
these kind of things should be out, are planned and
put out like before, not before, but like like this
should be ready to go when the series drops, they

(44:49):
should be ready to go. This should have come out
like actually it came out in the summer. This should
have come out in like the fall. That's or even
like after the last episode dropped, okay, next week. This
comes out the art of the strike while the iron
is hot, the actly especially the Actlite. Unfortunately, given the
device of it and how it's kind of been like
unfortunately not talked about as much in the social media anymore,

(45:10):
or at least not positively. It seems like only the
haters talk about it nowadays. Is if you if people
up there, he's little staunchly defended. That's right. I am
one who enjoyed it. It's not my favorite Star Wars series.
I think there's definitely a lot of flaws of it,
but I think it's well overheted. I'm definitely gonna get
this book. There's a lot of cool stuff and I'm sure.
So this is my two cents. I hope they would

(45:33):
start doing a little bit more timely with the releases
of these industries. So I love these books. They are
very fun books to read. Next up, a horror Star
Wars comic that's right up my alley. You know, me
and PJ to Lea Geeks on film. We love our horror,
So getting me more horror and Star Wars, I'm all
for it. Tales from the Nightland from author Cavin Scott

(45:54):
and dark Horse Comics, introducing fans to the night Lander,
a Star Wars boogeyman designed by legendary cons artist Ian
mccking that seeks to possess a living host and doing
misery and despair to the galaxy. That's coming out, first
issue coming out September fifth of this year, So that's
gonna be exciting you like that. Additionally, Stories coming got

(46:15):
in July July thirtieth, twenty twenty five, that's the same
time as the Higher Public Finale. The first issue of
Hyperspace story Tithes of Terror written by George Mann, who
wrote some great higher public stuff. And it's a kit
Fisso storyline Kidfesto exploring it dis an ocean planet fending
off fears of beasts. That's someone that's depth. I love Kidfisto.

(46:35):
Give me more kid fist So that's great. I think
we shoun go back. And we went to the Clone
Wars for so long, we kind of got out of
the Clone Wars era into more of like the between
three and four era. Now it almost feels nice to
go back to the Clone Wars every once in a while.
So that's a lot of fun for there. Speaking of
going back to the Clone Wars in next year, eighty
eight page original graphic novel in early twenty twenty six,

(46:56):
hyper Space story is Grievous from author of Michael Morrissey
and Dark Horse. Follow supparts Mastermind General Grievs as these
stomps at Jedi Knight as battalion of Clone Troopers on
the jungle planet of Katwu. A lot of fun there
as well. I'm always good for more Groove of stories
and more Clone War stories. What else we got here?
Got a couple other ones that came out behind the

(47:17):
scenes fans getting even look at the I l M
fiftieth anniversary book. That looks beautiful if you're a fan
of ILM, and I don't know how you could not
be a fan of ILM because they pretty much do
every movie that you ever loved as far as that goes.
I can't wait to read this that. I still haven't
wached the documentary serias. I can't. I gotta trying to
find time to watch that. I do want to watch that.

(47:37):
That's gonna be fun as well. Also more Mandelori and
Grogu movie coming out next to may K Books is
bringing back the Star Wars. The Star Wars the Mandalorian
visual guide closer look at seasons one through three of
the loved Disney series, written by Lucasfil's Pablo Hidalgo. Now,
this was initially announced a while ago, and it was

(47:58):
canceled or postponed. I don't remember. Necessarily, we don't have
to bring it back for the movie. That's you know what.
That's timely enough. At least it's going out at the
same time as the movie. Sure, this should have been
out back the end of season three, but it's a
nice little way to look at it and get ready
for the movie. So I couldn't go with this. I
go with this. I love the visual guys well probably
always knock those out of the park. That's fun. What

(48:21):
else forget another cool storyline? Going back to the Clone Wars,
We're getting a bad Batch comic series again, another bad
Batch run. This one called Hypersay Story is the bad
Batch Rogue Agents, written by Michael Markay and it is
a Clone Forest nine nine storyline taking place in the
Clone Wars dealing with a separatist issue. I like this

(48:42):
as well. Getting more bad Batch is always good. I
really love the bad Batch show is one of my
favorite things Star Wars, Disney Star Wars as ever has done.
It was a beautiful story, wonderfully told. And we had
the Star Wars bad Batch conor that just finished this
great sanctory. The Bad Batch novel coming out, which takes
places during the Bad Batch series basically an unused I

(49:04):
don't think it's unused arc as in like what Dark
Disciple was to Clone Wars, but it feels like an
unused arc kind of. But from what I've heard from
people who have read it, it slots in really well
with the IVY season two and get some more Tech
and Fee together. That's coming out here. And they got
some issue that a preview of that at the Comic
Gun as well. That's coming out shortly. I can't see
be a fun one to read as well. It's a

(49:25):
new series coming out in December twenty twenty five that
should be fun. A lot more comic reveals were done
that was kind of cool throughout. I don't want some
of them, Doctor Afra from the main Star Wars title.
We got some stuff from the Legacy Evader hinting that
Luke Skywalker is going to make an appearance soon. That's cool.
We're gonna get Forest Ghost Luke or is it gonna

(49:47):
be flashbacked Luke. I don't Know's gonna be interesting to
talk about that for sure. What happens. Got some more
talk about the Star Wars even of the Sith and
non anthology, the annotated diversion. It's coming out in October,
I believe it is. I am excited about that. One
hundred over one hundred and fifty author annotations of one
of the best, probably the best adaptation of the films.

(50:08):
We have so good. Matthew Sober beautiful story, wonderfully done,
expands on revegissists so well. So I'm looking forward to it.
And thenthology books are very fun to read. Our thought,
I said it again, idology books, annotated books are very
interesting to read. We did get a big news update.
The second episode or second installment i should say, of

(50:31):
the Reign of the Empire trilogy was talked about. Rebecca
roan Horse, who wrote Resistance for Born, is releasing Edge
of the Abyss and that will be released in the
fall of twenty twenty six. Now I can't lie. I'm
a little disappoint I believe the initial release plan was

(50:55):
we did spring this year, Spring of twenty twenty six,
spring of twenty twenty seven, those days. So now we're
pushing this one back. If it needs to be pushed back,
you know what I mean. It is what it is,
and it has to be done. I get it. I
was looking forward to reading this next spring, So wait
a little bit, a little bit later. That's fine. This
is actually going to be taking place one year before

(51:17):
the events of and or Sheason one, and it might
even feature some characters from the series. I mean, obviously
mon Maka was in the first one. So I'm sure
she's going to be again as she's one of the
big three that they are telling the story from, but
other people involved too. I don't know who that might be.
Will it be and or himself, don't I don't know
if we get to see and Or previously, I don't
know if that would make sense. But some of the
other ones, but per actually Lutheran combat perhaps making co parents.

(51:40):
I would think potentially a lot of people could make
it appearance. So we'll have to see where that goes
for sure. I'm excited about that, excited about that. They
didn't announce that the summer of twenty seven for a
while will bring the saga to an end with from
the actions. And finally, the last announcement we will talk

(52:00):
is there is another new book coming out and that
is going to be an Outlaws related book. February third,
twenty twenty six. Mike Chen who wrote The Brotherhood book,
which is a great book, he's releasing Star Wars Outlaws
Low Red Moon, a prequel to Star Wars Outlaws, which
features the origin story of Jalen and Virax and ND five.

(52:20):
Now I've not played Outlaws, I don't know I will
eventually I'm getting my sonny steam deck soon or we're
going to pitching and get one together, and I'll play
a lot of Star Wars games as I go through
my Canon read through, watch through, and Legends read through
and watch through. So I want to play a lot
of games as it comes on. So we get the Outlaws,
I might give it a shot at that point. I'll
go from there. But this is a prequel novel that
they usually have these tied into the game and Survivor,

(52:42):
Jeni Survivor, had I fallen order had one. I'm interested
to say this. The interesting part about this is supposedly
it's POV from the droid from ND five. It's the
first of its kind. I believe in the Star Wars
universe there might have been a short story or so,
but a full novel from the perspective of a droid interesting.
Not sola it necessarily being a good idea, but it's
intriguing and I'm looking forward to seeing if Mike can

(53:05):
pull it off and how it goes. So I'll tell
you the synopsis. They had DY five Jayen infer Ax
embark on their descent into the galaxy is underworld to
search for answers an opportunity, and this essential prequel to
Star Wars outlaws Jalli and Barsha, heir to his family's
immense power and wealth, has a life charted out for
immediately and meticulously by his parents earning though I suspected
his neglected Halfler's slee wrote would be better fit for

(53:28):
the break corporate feature his parents envisioned, and the Empire
shipped it all away on trump up charges of conspiracy
against his family. Before he can reach Lero for help,
Deeming the barsh and name Baldroid arrives with the family
compound of the mission to kill every single last member
of the Barser plan. Jilly manages to fend off the
attack of the Sole's survival a survivor, but realizes the
droid when he programs it is his only chance to
stay alive. May can no longer beat Jaalen Barsha. I'll

(53:49):
have to live now, as Jalen, the bracts Homer Separatist
battle Droid n D five knows he should, Jid be
scrap metal. All things considered, he's a proficient contributor to
the Sebatist cause. But what is a souldier without of war?
A trigger with aim, loyalty is in his programming, and
Jaillen to treats him as more than just a weapon
has earned it. Perhaps the joy things with the partner
he can be more than he can be more. D
five just has to earn Jaalen's trust. The threat against

(54:10):
the Barshak clan still shrouded a mystery, the pair has
no choice but to leverage the chaos and disappear. If
I'm Sanctuary, the nominated anonymity of the Underworld, building their
reputation of scoundrels, bounty hunters and crime synickets in their
latest score gives the first real clue in years to
who sent ND five after Jalien's family. Their biggest opportunity
now presents a new kind of risk. Do they give
up this chance at the wealth and power in Jaalien

(54:30):
with to nine for pursue answers or ambition and the
weight of the past shatter their likely partnership. Well, there
you go. Of course, I didn't play the game, so
I don't know much about the characters, but I am
always entreated to renew storyline, especially in the Underworld SOGA.
A lot of things you can do there for sure,
And yeah, that's it. That's theirs. I've caught up on
the news finally that we already are done with all

(54:51):
the news a bit fit to talk about, and I
went back within their news episode. In one month, we'll
catch up it then. Of course, next two weeks e'll
be back with Maddy Gunner back and we're gonna be
talking about the High Republic. That actould be a lot
of fun as well. If you did like this video
that like, subscribe and Lea Meade comment all that kind
of stuff, share us. Let's get this thing going. I

(55:12):
have a couple of our shows on this channel you
might be interested in, me and PJ Campbell to middle
aged geeks on film. I do a show called Review
with Lego, which I do want to actually address now
we've been a little bit behind in our time. We
had to review adjacent where we were covered Independence Day,
a lot of fun there. Myself and Lego are set
to cover the big finish audio that came out last

(55:33):
year with the new episodes and Solomon's coming out this month,
so when we get to it, hopefully we'll just go
do a run through of all six parts at that
point because we love that visa of it, and we'll
go back to our adjacent stuff as well, doing Watchers
Watchers too if we are doing the v comics and
books as well. Lego has had some real life happened.
This is why we have postponed. We actually were supposed

(55:54):
to record last week. It didn't work out. I'm hopefully
going to reschedule and recalibrate in a week or two,
maybe two weeks from now. I'll keep you updated as
soon as I know more, but we will come back
and back for that for sure. I also do Class
Action I do, which is the show we put up
two movies up against each other. This month's version will
be or i should say August month version. At the

(56:16):
end of the month, we're gonna be putting up Superman
twenty twenty five versus Fantastic for the first steps. That
should be a lot of fun to talk about for sure.
And of course I'm my sister channel Crown Jewels. I
do my Queen podcast every week. During an episode, we
were finishing up the water Tailer Fund and Space album,
which has not gotten a lot of views and not
gonna lie. So we're getting back to Queen proper in
a few weeks where we tackle the device of Hot

(56:37):
Space album and we'll go on from there. That sent
me have Patreon, Patreon dot com, slash pod products that
a YouTube member should you can joined it can get
early editions of the Crown Jewels or editions of review
most of the time. Sometimes you get early editions of
two Millige Keeaks, but mostly you get the two Utiliage
exclusive reviews of the MCU we watch. We're doing every

(56:57):
other week. We're doing an episode for the channel and
then the other week is the Patrionic Exlusive Memory exclusive
MCU rewatch just recorded Count to America Winter Solder that
should be out soon. Looking forward to continuing that journey
as well, and on the regular two Middle Age heeks.
On film, we're back on Tuesday with Ghostbusters, the new
episode of our new season. Ghostbusters and Men in Black

(57:18):
are crossover franchise. We're going to have both the entirety
of both franchises in one series. It should be a
lot of fun. Can we talk about those for sure,
but they'll do it for us here, folks. We will
see you next time here on all these notes and
hopefully before and on our other shows. That's it may
be the fortune with you guys. Take care May the
Force be with you always,
