Speaker 1 (00:11):
PLD Project presents Holy Snokes, a Star Wars podcast featuring
PLD and Mattie Gunner. May the Force be with you always.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
What's up, everybody? Welcome to a special live version of
Holy Snokes. Well, Holy Snoke's Light. It's only me, It's
only PLD. Here, my Man in the Street, Maddy Gunner.
He is over in Japan right now. He's over enjoying
himself quite a lot from everything I've been told, everything
I've seen Matty Gunner or Man of the Street. I wasn't
(01:00):
gonna make them stop bubbing some adult beverage is just
to come on to the show on a phone. It
didn't seem like it was worth the time or energy.
You'll be back next week, back for our full episode,
or we're gonna be covering and Or the first three
episodes of and Or as well as we'll get his
perspective on what went down this week on Celebration and
I figured today was the best day to go live here.
(01:21):
I had some ideas of what I wanted to do.
Some panels that came out. Most of the big panels
have already occurred as far as news where the items
would go. The only thing I think left tomorrow. For
tomorrow's panels would be maybe Business season three, which I'm
interested in, but not enough to maybe hold off into
doing the complete show because life goes on. Life is
(01:42):
crazy around here, all the stuff I got going on
in my life. So I figured, well, it's fresh, let's
hit these news stories out there and at least get
my perspective on it, because our Thursday episode is gonna
be long enough. Obviously, we're covering three episodes of and Or,
first three episodes of and Or, which from all I've heard,
it's been amazing that the and Or result of their
(02:03):
responses has been great brand Or. I know a few
people who have seen all twelve episodes and they basically
say it's as good, if not better than season one.
So I am excited. I'm excited about that for sure.
Good to see you all here and chat here. That
was always good. Yes, yes, we were talking about that
for sure. That's some of the news that dropped Akbar
versus a thron There you go, but let's get into it.
(02:25):
It's don't gonna go to Let's go through the episodes,
or the panels as they were. First course, the one
that opened up the entirety of the gig on Friday
night or Friday morning in Japan, rather, I should say
the Mandaloriin and Gurgu panel. This is the one that
I thought was going to be interesting. I thought we
were going to get some footage from it. We got
(02:48):
news for sure, and more importantly, I remember when I
saw a celebration panel, it was kind of surprised that
we weren't getting the typical lucasfilm live action kind of
for like the future panels usually have a panel where
we got all the movie news, all that's movies, the rumors,
and or the confirmation of the directors. Sometimes for the worst,
(03:10):
as as last time. We got promised quite a bit
and then a lot of things fell apart, as things
tend to do. Uh So, maybe I don't know if
Lucas simm learned their lesson that way and decided not
to promote it as such because the rumors were rumors
wore that Sean Lovey was gonna appear, and he did
remembers where that Ryan Gosling was going to appear, and
(03:31):
he did. But it is smart move. I think it's
smart movie. They had the Mandalorian and Grogup panel where
they can promote the most. The movie is coming out
next year. That's their big step. But they decided to
use that as a kind of half hearted future panel because
he opened up with OR three po and R two,
we got Kathy Kennedy and Dave Filoney walking under the
(03:51):
screen onto the stage rather and before we get into
the Mandaloria and Gregory, we had a few little bits
and bobs got Kathy ken to quote Cathleic Kennedy. We're
currently in development of numerous future films from James Mangold, Fermaine, Obeyed, Shanoi, Taikowatit,
a new trilogy from Simon Kinberg, and of course one
(04:11):
from you Dave. But before we get to the Mandalorian
and Grogu, we have another film we'd like to talk
about first up right there, that the first step we
have to make. I'm glad to hear some of these
names still. I mean 's Big Bad Jays Mangoled. He
is been long talked about. This was thought to maybe
be the next film that being production until the future
(04:32):
what we're about to talk about a few minutes. I
still think this is probably gonna be the next film
after I'm betting I could be wrong. But that's definitely
been in development for a little while. I'm likely happy
to see that Taikiwa tit. She says it's still in development.
I can't not believe her. She's said it a couple
of times. Now. It does seem like it's less about
(04:52):
any problems they're having and more about Taika finding the
time to do it and finish it and do it well.
Tech is very busy, you know, he's doing Clara on
the Sun, a couple of other things. I think he's
kind of had a hard time cracking the finale of
the scripts, so to speak. But Kathleen Kennedy is giving
him rope and seems to me that he is still
(05:13):
all on board the Tayi Kuwait train, which I'm glad for.
He obviously hasn't had been quite the success the past
couple of years as he was in the early twenty
tens mid twenty tens. I like him. I still like
him a lot. I think his work on The Manlorian
was great, so I'm willing to let that go as well. No,
I'm in no rush. As long as it's still going
to happen at some point, I'm happy for it. The
(05:36):
new trilogy from Simon Kimber. She did say trilogy. That's
a confirmation of that. I don't know if she said
that in the interview or not. I can't remember, but
that's an interesting bit of news. That's a guess is
going to be the one that's going to be ten
eleven and twelve ish, as it were. I mean to
kind of walk back the idea of not doing any
more trilogies. Maybe. I don't know if it's a good
or bad thing. From where I can stand, I kind
of like the idea of moving forward. That way we
(05:57):
can get confirmation on something that's going to happen hopefully.
I like the idea of that. The one I was
really happy to hear about, though, was Charmine Obeyed Chenoi,
which is obviously the ray film, but a lot of
scuttle butt because you know, that was one of the
big ones that was a nowndays he really came back on,
he's really talked about it a few times. And then
(06:18):
Charmaine Obey Choi's name was. It felt almost deliberately left
out during Kathleen Kennedy's you know Jokie press conference, which
was press conference disguised as a as a conversation with
a reporter. The fact that her name was left out
kind of let me a couple of people go, you know,
(06:39):
raise their eyebrows whether she was going to be moved
on considering all the production development that that has gone through.
I don't want to say production health doesn't seem like
they are not liking what's going on. They just feel
like they've been evolving over time, having ideas brought in
and changing them and going from there. So yeah, I'm
(07:00):
glad to see that she's still on board. I think
they if they weren't going to go on board with
her at this point, she probably would have just omitted
her again, kind of like what happened to the interview.
Maybe the interview was an actual omission by mistake, maybe
it was just something she just left out the conversation.
But I'm happy to say. I mean, I always thought
the ray movie would continue. If you've watched me on
(07:20):
the show before, the ray movie would continue, but I
wasn't sure if Charmine Obachi and I would be the
one to be continuing that. Okay, next up, this is
what we had to talk about before the Mandu gro
Group panel. This is where Sean Levy does walk out,
and he does confirm that this is the next film
to take place, this next film to began production. In fact,
(07:42):
it's going to be filming in the fall. Like I said,
that was the rumor. At one point, I mentioned on
the show a few times that Cap holding some kind
of date in September October to start filming. Well, it's
gonna happen. And it's not the only rumor that he confirmed.
He had a great, big moment where he talked about
some of them being true, some of them being they
confirmed one rumor being completely true. Ryan Gosling walks on
(08:04):
to the stage too great applause to thunderous applause, much
like Liberty Dying in episode three, Ryan Gosling walks on
to thunderous applause at a cute moment with Ryan Gosling
showing his Star Wars bed sheets Empire Strikes bedsheets that
actually I have, or at least I had in my
parents' house. I'm not sure they're still there anymore, but
when I was growing up, I had those same sheets,
(08:26):
as well as Return of the Jedi ones later on.
But yeah, Ryan Gosling really seemed to be enjoying his
time there. I think this is a great confirmation. I
was all for it ever since I heard the rumors.
Ryan Gosling is a fine actor, wonderful actor. He's been
in plenty of movies. I love Later Under twenty forty nine,
one of my favorite films, the twenty fifteen I was
twenty ten's rather another favorite film, underrated film. The nice
(08:49):
guys love that film as well. He was great in Barbie,
He's great in Drive. He's always been a solid choice.
He's a good actor, good performer, and I think he
has the ability to do drama and comedy drop of
the hat. You kind of need that Star Wars. Star
Wars at its best has that little bit of humor
(09:10):
but also has some serious heartfelt mom which is where
Dog Douglas I see in the chat there same here
I know I could garanteje, I kind have told you
that without you telling me, I knew you had those.
But yeah, I'm very excited about this Gozling. A quote
from Ryan Gosling. The reality is the script is so good,
and it has such a great story, with great and
original characters and filled with so much heart at adventure.
(09:30):
There is not a more perfect filmmaker for this particular
story than Sean Leevy says. This is not a prequel.
This is not a sequel. It's a new adventure with
new characters. And the movie was given a date and
a title. And I want to play the little video
that was shown. Not it wasn't really a video. Don't
get excited. It was a little teasing sippet thing. Here
(09:52):
you go, May twenty eight, twenty twenty seven. Of course,
(10:17):
unfortunately does I want to don't want to get negatives.
I love all the positivity here on this channel, but
I am so little concerning You have the Avengers coming
out early in May twenty twenty seven. This feels like
a repeat of Solo. We had a Marvel Avengers movie
and then Solo coming out. It can be a little wonky,
but one of them might move. Who knows, We don't know.
I'm not gonna be Star Wars. I think this time.
(10:38):
I think you gotta have it come out right where
the fiftieth anniversary is just makes sense. Otherwise it is weird.
This is gonna be the fifth anniversary film, and kind
of I had predicted a long time ago that we
might daze film here because it might include the Big
Three and kind of be a good celebration that way.
But you know what, if the adventure and this heart
and the kind of the vibe is like old school
(11:01):
Star Wars, which I feel this is gonna be, I
think it's a good film to have as a fiftieth anniversary.
I get the vibe from Adam Project, which was written
by Trapper, who Jonathan Trapper, who is writing this film
alongside Sean Levey, directed by Sean Levey, that has a
good feel Ryan Reynolds being the lead of that makes
it more of a Ryan Reynolds movie. So I think
(11:22):
if you take the Adam Project, which isn't a bad
thing for the Adam Project, I wouldn't want Ryan Reynolds
in a Star Wars movie myself. Like Ryan Reynolds, maybe
a droid cameo would be all I'd want, though, But
you take the Sean Levy direction, John Trapper writing with
Adam Project, and you insert a Ryan Gosling in the
lead role, I think we could have somebody who's going
to be very much So it's gonna have a show
(11:43):
a film as very much in that Star Wars vibe.
Now about this film as well, I think that don
is a is a wonderful director as far as acting,
as far as like a vibe goes, He's got. He's
showed art, real and real steel, we show Debu Wolverine.
He can handle big action sequences, things of that nature.
(12:06):
I'm excited. I'm very excited about this. The rumors seem
to have been wrong in that because of the film
is called Starfighter. Initial head concept was that Ryan Gosling
was going to be a Jedi of some kind. It
does not appear that way as a peer's going to
go more of the the pilot ruin of there's an
X Wing type pilot or I mean the Starfighter type pilots.
(12:28):
I don't know if he's part of the New Republic.
I don't know if he is a mercenary. I don't
know if he's going to be a scoundrel with a Starfighter.
I don't know a lot of different open ways to go.
I'm kind of hoping for a scoundrel. I think having
ryang in like nice guys mode kind of thing could
be really cool. Just get him another uh mean Russell
cro make a cameo parent. Now. I don't really want that.
(12:49):
I want that. I want to fold nice guys too
is what I really want. But I think that'd be
kind of cool.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Some other rumors had flown around about there being like
a teen teenager league ififeen year old lead potentially. I
know Mikey Madison was offered and you turned down a
role as one of the females, not the leading female,
but some kind of villain potentially. So we're gonna get
this more casting news, I'm sure very soon because it
is starting in September. But I hope the fifteen year
(13:17):
old is kind of a fourth sensitive kid, maybe a
young Jedi paddle on. I think that's something we could
really see as unique, having a Jedi padd one at
fifteen and a non Jedi mentor. It's almost like kind
of like having John and now would you know, maybe
you could have a Jodd in now would type Maybe
Ryan is fourth sensitive. I don't know, though, it feels
like if that's the character you're gonna go with, you
could just have Jod be the lead character, right, But
(13:40):
maybe that's a kind of similar way. Maybe it's kind
of a Scleons or Pirates have that be kind of
guy who has to who's taking along with young Jedi
want to be potential Jedi, and maybe he's not even
a Jedi want maybe he's just a fourth sensitive kid
who has Lefsaver. And there's a lot of different potentials
here that I could see making four a very, very
(14:00):
fun show. I'm sure by the end of the film
they'll have done something right because will probably be the heroes.
They are not going to be the villains. These villains
that are gonna be cast, so it's so interesting to
see where that goes. So, yeah, this dropped in that
Mando grobrou panel, and that was a nice big news bombing,
or right off the top of the bat, I had
word weren't going to get any news at all in celebration.
(14:21):
I kind of have been confessing about that with Maddie.
Maddy didn't care about He's going for the celebrations aspect
of it. Totally get that. Totally fine if that's what
you're here for celebration for. I totally think that's a
wonderful experience for you to have. I kind of have
grown accustomed to, or desirous of, at least getting some
big drops of news. I think I was satisfied with
the news so far this weekend as far as we've
(14:42):
gotten nothing. The other thing I don't didn't get which
I did want to get with some of the footage.
I completely understand why it's kind of exclusive. I mean,
that's something that they are people traveling Japan for. They
might as well get some exclusives of it. I kind
of did think we were going to get the Mandalorian
and Groby teaser, because that one was shown on stage
(15:03):
and celebration we did not get into the public. In fact,
there was a rumor that was supposed to be released
today because Pedro Pascal and Sigurty Weaver are going to
appear on Good Morning America. They did appear on Good
Morning America. We still didn't get the teaser, unfortunately, but
it is a year away, so we still have time.
I can't be too upset about that again because I
understand the con exclusive side of things. So all right,
(15:25):
that was all for the Levy part of things. He
kind of left about twenty minutes in and then we
got into the Mandaloriate and Grogu And this, of course
is the next film to be played to make it
into the theaters from Star Wars. Looking forward to that
quite a bit. I will say that Pedro Pascal during
the weekend, not during this panel, but later on did
say it was one of the greatest adventure stories of
(15:46):
all time, meaning of this film, not just Star Wars
in general. And he said and he said, he means
it too. I mean sometimes it sounded like, you know,
it's not like that's something you would say. You're promoting movie,
of course you're going to say it's good. But he
kind of looked at it and said he really meant it.
So hey, I'm gonna choose to believe it. Maybe he
really liked it that much, right, soo knows. We're gonna
find out in about a year. What else did we
(16:09):
get from that panel? Got some cool bits and bonds.
Of course, we'd get a picture of a zeb with
a Mando and Gerog. We kind of knew that was
in the movie. We did get some backstage here, there's
a shot of from some of the footage that was
shown a little R five back there. Is that our five?
Or is that gonna be a different or if I
type droid, I don't know. We'll find out. I guess
soon enough. That was definitely something I'm looking forward to.
(16:33):
I like the connectivity, of course, if you've watched me before.
I love connectivities. They'll give me any more of the
Rebels channels. I had some BDX droids operated by Zellin's.
They're here on screen, which is kind of fun. I
love the end Zelens sup Corney Weaver in a fighter uniform.
That was another picture that dropped from behind the scenes.
Is definitely confirmed that she is in the film. There
(16:54):
she is. She had a big presence at the panel
as well. She actually joined the panel. She joined on
stage with John and Dave and with Pegro, and they
had a good time talking about a lot of different
things there. She said she hadn't initially seen the Mandelarian,
but after doing so, she fell in love for the
show with Pedro Pascal and with Rogu, and of course
(17:15):
Favor got to bring John got to bring on Gurgu
on stage, so that was really cool. I do want
to point out I got a high REDS photo of
one that was shown on screen because Pedro Pascal later
instagrammed it out there. It is Din helmetless Din. It
looks like I don't know if that's the natural production shot,
if that's just kind of a magazine type of shot.
(17:36):
I don't know. Helmetless Din though, would be good to see.
I'm kind of hoping that we do get helmetless Din
during the film. They made a big deal. I don't
think made a big deal about it, but they definitely
were confirming for sure that he's not just doing voiceover,
he is actually doing costume work as well. He did
also want to shout out of course, Way and Port
(18:00):
of the other two actors in who've done the studio
the suit works, and all three of them play Boba Fett,
which is cool. I say, Boba fet God, it's late.
I'm sorry, it's like two in the morning. Here played
Din Jarren. Of course, this is the last Star Wars
celebration before this movie, so that's a big deal for them.
And then we got the two minutes of footage. It
was a one minute scene I got to see. Actually,
(18:22):
I will say I did see the leaked footage. It
was up for a little bit and taken down. Now
I don't usually do that. I'm kind of surprised myself
for doing it, but I kind of had this feeling
like we weren't getting the trailer, and I was really
excited to see it, so I didn't like search for it.
It was like popped up with me on my social
media fees and I just kind of went okay. Luckily,
(18:43):
it was actually a pretty good recording of it. It
wasn't like one of those usual con recording or you
can't see anything. There's like you can see pretty wuch everything.
You hear everything pretty clear. We got to see a
If you want spoilers, you want toy to walk away
from this, I don't know, but some people are staying
completely dry. I get it. But we do have the
idea of a hallway fight, much like Daredevil, much like Daredvil.
(19:08):
We have and like you know, honestly like Vader in
Rogue one, and like Luke and Mandaloria, and we have
an ad ad scene where Dinn is going to be
taking out a lot of storm troopers and doing it
pretty well, pretty well, including the humorous pit there on
the door closes and the imperial who's left size pretty
nervously happily. Oh boy, had a great funny sequence between
(19:28):
Sigourney and Dinn. They're sitting at a table where Sigourney's
character is basically saying, you know you work for us,
now we need you all the while, of course Gregu
trying to get his snacks, starts reaching out with the
forests of some snacks that he by s Goourny Weaver's character.
She stops it without me looking at him. Fun moments there.
Get to see zeb gets to see Grogu fighting and Droid,
(19:50):
get to see Groogy swimming. A lot of cool stuff,
a lot of stuff you would see in a teaser aspect.
It did end with a file shot of presumably Rob
of the Hut stinking himself, at least from the back,
maybe some kind of gladiator type pose. It was in
some kind of colosseum. Yeah, so I'm pretty cool with that. Actually,
that's a fun, fundable te user. I wish we got
(20:11):
to see the whole full high res version. I'm hoping
it won't be too long. I mean, it is about
a year away. Maybe they're waiting for that year mark.
Maybe we're waiting for a little bit later on the fall.
I'm not sure, but we'll get there. So I'm not
too disappointed. I am also not regretful of pressing play
on the League version. So let's yes, yes, I was
(20:33):
disappointed he went back to the never news this show. Yeah,
I get that as well. I kind of want to
see more of him. That sounded really wrong. Yeah, you
know what I meant, I'd see more more Pedro. Pascal's
face is beautiful, manly face. But that was really the
end of that panel. Really good though to see it
was really fun. Next little Bits and Bob's I I
(20:55):
am not a gamer, as many of you know, if
you've watched my show before, our show before. I don't
do the games. Maddie does the games. He did his
out the whole Outlaws review and he's been playing it.
I feel like if I started playing games I already
don't have any times it is, I would get locked
into these games and it would not It would take
up way too much time for me. However, that being said,
(21:16):
Outlaws had a debut of a trailer for the next
downloadable contents, Pirates Fortune, which is in releases on May fifteenth.
If anything was gonna bring it back to gaming, it
might be this because it does end Hondo watched twenty
twenty five for the first time. I mean not really
goes Hondo watches for our movies and TV shows. But
(21:37):
it is Jim coming back as the old Pirate, the
our patron saint, our mascot as you were uh, And
I love to be able to play against or with
Hondo until he absolutely betrays me at some point. I'm
sure for money, or for a ship, or you know,
for any number of reasons. Why look great, It looked fun,
looked like Hondo. I'm gonna guess looking at some of
(21:59):
this behind the scenes and stuff, that this is what
Jim Cummings was talking about in that recent interview where
he mentioned having done some motion capture for Hondo and
a project. I want to guess, is this the main reason?
I'm guessing? Is this also? Honestly because I don't want
to get I don't want to hope. I'm like Jeremy
Renner and the Avengers. Don't give me hope. I don't
(22:21):
want to get too excited about anything because I don't
know what Honda, which you go up next. I'm hoping
for more. I am hoping for more, but I'm trying
to convince myself that this is what it's for. How
to Watch will never die even though we have temporarily
switched it. I told you before we switched it for
Mossquatch for season two of Indor. I think moss Watch
is going to be a linus Mosque. I think that's
going to be as fruitless as our recent Honda Watches
(22:43):
have been. But you never know. Honda Watch will return
for tales of the Underworld's coming made forth because you
never know that that seems to be a place that
could have happened. It could happen. Then, all right, Next
up we got we had a publishing panel specifically for manga,
which I've never read much of. Manga has never been
anything I've gravitated towards, nothing against it. I will read
(23:07):
the Star Wars ones and thing coming on quick highlights.
There we're going to be a manga version of the
Throng novel by Timothy's On, which is awesome, a new
Path of the Lightsaber, new original, and then interestingly enough,
a manga adaptation of Ji Fallen Order that does interest me.
And they got to again it never got to play
the game, haven't even really watched a lot of the
(23:27):
cut scenes. That's something I'm going to be doing during
my watch through, during a whole complete cannon read slash
watch through. When I get to the video games, I'm
going to try to watch all the cut scenes and
as if I was watching a movie. Speaking of which
I just ended the Eye of Darkness at Arcade and
Roebook and the High Republic. Oh, what a good one.
That was getting into phase three now and I am
(23:49):
looking forward to that. We'll talk about that a little
bit more in a few minutes. But that was pretty
much the panel of the manga panel. Not a whole
lot more to it. They showed some of the division's comments.
They did show the compot interesting enough that the Ronan
right like Vision's Treasure Edition which has some Ronan stories
and Roan or work, which is a cool pathlights there.
It looks fun, but it's really a Jedi fallen order.
(24:11):
That was the big one for me. Out of that.
I'll probably read that I might readly throw an adaptation
as well. Be cool to kind of put some visuals
to those words, to do these odds words, all right?
Next up, panel wise, it did have a Light and
Magic season two the trailer premiere of Star Wars Celebration
and it's now streaming on Disney Plus. I feel like
(24:31):
I betrayed Ken Knapstock a little bit and that I
still haven't watched this. Hm. You've mentioned it a few
times how good it is, and I really do want
to watch it. I've watched season one or I have
now watched season two. Either at this point it is
something that is in my eventuality of cues as there
are a tremendous company and learning about the background of
that company and how it developed in Star Wars and
(24:52):
Aunts and Beyond and Fire the Caribbean and Jurassic Park
and all of the pretty much every branchise you've ever
loved your watch or love. It's exciting and it's fun
and it's awesome to see. So I have no excuse
for not having seen it except for this time, and
so I have to watch four podcasts and things of
that nature. Maybe I will do a when we're in
(25:14):
between after and Or is done and we're in between
between then and the next thing, maybe we'll do a
Light and Magic. We will watch the late Magic and
talk about those episodes and go from there. We'll do
that as our main content on Holy Stone. So let's know,
if you wantus to do that, we could do an
episode of by episode guide to that obviously be different
kinds of review than we usually do. Know, the funniest
(25:37):
moments and action moments. I know it's definitely not appearing
at least well, I guess you never know, right, I
guess you never know all right. Next up we had
the big one, big couple of ones. Let's talk about
the publishing one first, though. We did have the publishing panel,
the Maine Lucasfilm Publishing Panel, talking about the books and
(25:59):
everything else. I gotta say, of all the panels Newswise,
Newswise now that just want to stress that news wife,
this is the one that was definitely the weakest. I
was looking forward to this one quite a bit. I
was really hoping we were to get obviously, with the
high Republican Initiative ending, I was hoping we were to
get some idea of the next Pick initiative, which I
(26:19):
guess is me being cocky and me being assumptive, because
who says there is going to be a next big
initiative right away. Maybe they're gonna take a lot of
time off before they do any kind of big initiative.
We did not get anything new big wise, and honestly,
we didn't get anything really new at all. The panel
mostly they had announced pretty much everything before celebration, even
(26:40):
hit a few couple of bits and bobs, as it were.
I did see that on the old site, the bad
site there x Twitter, whatever you want to call it.
Darth Tom, who's one of the random House people. He
talks a lot about Star Wars stuff all the time.
He actually mentioned that mentioned that in a comment someone
said something about not getting a lot of news. These
(27:01):
SAIDs of the cons are not always the best place
to announce things for publishing. I'm sure they have their reasons.
But another also, another reason why we didn't get much news,
I think is that we already have a big chunk
of books coming out. Big chunk of books are already
coming out this year, right, so what else can they
really squeeze in there? They have a bunch of the
(27:22):
authors on stage, which is kind of cool and getting
to see hear them talk about what they got coming on.
Of course, I talked real quick about let's go through
what was mentioned, so most of them had been announced before.
The Revenge of the Sith Deluxe novelization release is coming.
I'm excited about that. I love annoitated books and hearing
Matthew Silver talk about Revenge of the Sith, one of
the best, probably the best Star Wars adaptation or novel
(27:46):
film adaptation novel out there. And to hear him go
deep into what was behind that. That's an awesome idea,
So I can't wait for that for sure, and then
a big one I want to get. This is going
to be an eventual one, but the already announced Dug
Chang the Cinematical Legacy and the Star Wars Basically it
looks just like the old Ralph McQuary book, and it
is basically elevating Doug Chang up to that Ralph McCrory level,
(28:08):
which I guess it's kind of weird because like he's
always like you got the OG and he got the
new Guys, and you always feel weird elevating somebody up
to like the OG level. I mean, Ralph McCory was
a genius who started the whole thing. But Doug Chang
has been there now for the same amount of time,
if not longer, probably longer at this point, and had
(28:29):
more designs to go through. So no disrespect to Ralph
mccuary at all, Doug Chang deserves to be mentioned in
that same airspace when it comes to Star Wars. So
it's awesome he's gonna get a big book like that.
I'm sure I didn't see a price point for this,
but as an eight hundred page two volume slipcase, it's huge.
I'm excited about that, but it might be a little
(28:49):
bit before I get to be honestly, unless I would
Lonnery or else something like that. Also, I could get
a bunch of patrons to join up, might not patrons.
All was back to the show anyway. Another we got
on Or the fifty year anniversary of ILM ILM fifty
years of Anniversary, fifty years of Innovation. Rather I said
it's gonna be released on November fourth. I had a
(29:10):
kind of cool picture title to it as well. That
could be in a good coffee table type book if
you're into those. Doug Sharing's book in December second, so
that's gonna be fun as well. Also, we got the
and Or The Art of and Or, written by long
term author Phil Sostack. That's gonna be released next year,
I believe in twenty twenty six. That's always cool. Then
(29:30):
we moved on to the fiction side of things, which
is what I'm mostly excited for. I love reading Star
Wars stories. Obviously, Trials the Jedi, the final novel in
the higher public Phase three, you got to see the
front and back. I did not pull that picture for you, unfortunately,
but it is on It is on the internet if
you want to find it. Chose the nine Aluminous Jedi together.
(29:51):
We got A'san Reel bellzfr Wreath, Silas torbak Avar, Chris
el zarman Buriaga Hi Yoric really my favorite, and Trek.
I loved ty York. I'm glad to see that she's
a big part to play in the trials of the Jedi.
For sure. That's cool. Talk about that a lot. Jerry
(30:11):
said that it's going to be an explosive ending. I
think her republic has been mostly overall success. Your miles
me vary. I'm gonna say something it might be controversial.
I love Phase one and I love Phase three so far.
Phase two, I feel like Phase two killed the momentum
phase one. When I was reading Phase one, I was
(30:33):
all in. I went and also we started Phase he
was like, I don't really know who these people. I'm
not that excited about it. It wasn't that it was
poorly done. It just didn't have the same feeling stakes
and moving the story forward to Phase one had I
felt like, I'm like, oh, I mean it worked. When
it comes to the Star Wars trilogy trilogy'es I should
(30:53):
say and work going four, five, six and then going
back one, two, three, actually saw the ending. We saw
the ending of six of the ending of the of
the story be like going like machete order style, like
your first time through going four, four and a half
for part of five, then going back through one, two, three,
then going back to five and six, and it's like, wait,
what's I don't I don't understand what's going on there
at all, Like it just seems like it's such a
(31:15):
jerkings of time. I almost feel like it would have
been cool to a Phase one, Phase three or face two. Yeah,
Phase one and Phase three and then go back and
tell the stories of Phase who afterwards in a non
and a different kind of time frame. It could have
been a sequel forever. Let's learn more about what how
this all came to me, much like we got with
Star Wars the prequel trilogy. So the monrum really stalled
(31:37):
for me so much so that I hadn't so I
was so far behind. I stopped reading them a little bit,
so I was much slower in reading them. That's when
I started reading the Phase two. That's when I got
the idea of I'm gonna go back and read everything chronologically,
so I was like, okay, I went from phase two
and back into rereading phase one, and that's what let
me right into phase three. And it's been phenomenon. It's
so excited with how it's going. Now. Thank you Douglas
(32:00):
for agreeing with me. I appreciate that. But yeah, Miles
my Vary, if you love Face Sue, I'm happy for you.
I'm still maybe you love face. He was better than
Phase one. Maybe that's what you thought. And if that's
the case, more power to you. I'm glad for you.
A lot of different tastes. Next time, we all got
a little bit talking, a lot more talking about can Speak.
It's too a Remember that Adam Christopher's novel Star Wars,
(32:23):
Master of Evil, a new story is set before a
new Hope, chronicles Vader's haunting pursuit for the power to
conquer Death. He said his novel slots into that space
left between left by a bultial Darth Vader comic runs.
He actually mentioned them specifically because it does take place
right after Revenge of the Sith, right after the end
of the Clone Wars, and he mentioned specifically that he
(32:43):
wants to match up with the early comic run, which
was wonderful, and Charles Soul's comic run was wonderful. He
is run. He's a wonderful comic book writer, especially on Vader.
So Christopher says it slots into a spot that Charles
Soul didn't quite hit. So hey, I'm okay with that
to see how that goes. The cover of that is beautiful,
by the way, And I know some people again in
(33:04):
your mouthsman, various some people have said that they didn't
like the idea of another Vader novel. To me, I'm like,
I love Vader anymore. You can get into his head.
I'm okay with And it's not like it's been a
whole lot of vayerself. We've avoided Vader for a little
bit without a book. Let's have a book. I'm okay
with that. Interestingly enough, Chris kempsolve teas a follow up
to his In Universe historical book, which was penned by
(33:26):
bobont Kin called Star Wars The Rise and Rise and
Fall in the Galactic Empire. He said that Kin hasn't
done writing about the Galactic Empire, but he isn't the
only in the universe around, so that seemed to imply
that perhaps he was going to write a similar story
the rise and fall of or the Rise of the
Rebellion maybe, or is the rise and fall of the
First Order. I don't know what he's gonna do, but
I'm excited about that. That was a very, very big,
(33:50):
but engaging and interesting history book for Star Wars, well done.
Definitely had a lot of parallel today's society, so I'm
glad to see that happening. I'm hoping to see that
that does come close, so I'm excited to see how
how that goes. Hopefully we'll get more news about that soon.
Got some more higher public stuff, actually some more Accolade stuff,
(34:13):
which is technically hire public stuff. Tessa gradd and talking
about the Accolade The Crystal Crown, which is going to
follow Padawan, Jeckie and Yord on adventure while their masters
are too busy dealing with politics. I'm happy for these
the Accolade fans who have been looking for more Acclad material.
I know, I know you want on screen. I understand that,
but at least it's something something for you. So excited
(34:36):
for that that should be a fun one there, and
we've got some great comics. They talked about they had
the ending of the Higher Pholic initiatives. After you get
to end in comics, the final one is the Higher
Public Fear of the Jedi, the finale the Beacon one
shot coming into July thirties by Cavin Scott, and that's
supposedly the final Higher Public tale marking the end of
(34:56):
the initiative, although I still want to throw out there
shouldn't end the end writing in this timeframe. Just because
the initiative is done doesn't mean we can't of stories.
There's a lot of stories to tell in this era.
Another one I maybe expand into other eras, and that's
probably a good thing as well. I wouldn't be surprised
if we'd get an Old Republic era, or if we
do have initiative with the Old Republic, much as the
Higher Republic was done. I think that'd be great. The
(35:19):
guest amount of comics coming the Higher Public Adventures, The
Battle of Areatu is coming April thirtieth. That's very soon,
I'll gay so that one I get to chronologically, which
is actually getting close to that. I think got some
great more Hyperspace stories. Code Breaker by Ethan Sachs ocasing
pulled damage Return a slew of comments talking about the
infiltrating a first order base of some kind. That should
(35:41):
be fun. That's some more information on Star Wars Jedi
Knights by Mark Gugingheim, and mentioned that Jangle Fetle making appearance,
but more importantly a big issue coming up featuring Keller
and Beck. Keller and Beck some great arts, great cover
art on those on the on Star Wars us Net,
having those from the panel itself. I'm excited about that.
And finally, of course, Charles Soul's Legacy Invader is continuing.
(36:03):
They talked about that and a previously unknown night of
Ren named Tava Wren, which is gonna face is set
the face off against Kyla Ren during this time frame.
I'm really loving the Kyla Ren stuff. Uh, the Legacy
of Vader. It's been fun. It's been a fun one
for sure. Finally got some more arts and stuff like
that art of Star Wars Yacola Act like visual guide,
some cool interesting looks with the Stranger and some possible
(36:25):
artwork that the Stranger could have been even more it'
psychonic looking than we got a lot of cool stuff there.
And the last thing they did mention was a Millennium
Falcon comic and working on a secret Millennium Falcon comic
which will arrive later this year. No details were given
on that. I don't know what that means. I'm Millennium
Falcon comic. I'm fascinated by that idea. There was the
(36:47):
Millennium Falcon Legends novel that was cool, but the comic.
Would that be? Could it be a han Lando? Lando?
Could be handed? Could it be Hondo with the Falcon.
I don't want to say Honda Watch, but I'm gonna
say Honda Watch. All right. Let's move on then to
the bigger panels. The bigger panel of the probably the
biggest panel honestly, if you're a Star Wars fan, this
(37:10):
was the Lucasfilm Animation twentieth anniversary panel of Star Wars celebration.
Speaker 1 (37:14):
This is huge.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
This was a big one. I got teas and thought,
I try to watch it. At this point, I was
trying to watch this and looking for news. I was
hoping for an announcement of an animated series. That's what
I was hoping for. The new Beyond Tales of the Underworld,
which had already been announced. I was looking for that
big prime next series like the Bad Batch, and the
(37:37):
way the panel went, I thought we weren't getting it.
I actually texted some people being pretty disappointed about not
getting it. Then they kind of like the record scratch,
hold your horses, but we'll get there. Let's get through
the nactual panel first. But hey, look back at twenty
years in animation, like as a transformer. Yes, Dom, it's
like it's a transformer. Panel started with the look back video,
(38:00):
beautiful video. It's online now on YouTube. You can watch
it actually get your first look at the new series
that's coming out. It's a very look back at George
with Dave, the Clone, Wars and Rebels, and that's what
the whole panel was. Basically took us through most of
Star Wars Animation. I say most because we didn't really
touch on Resistance as much. The Redheaded stepchild of the
(38:20):
Star Wars canon cartoon animated series. I will say I
didn't actually talk about Young Jedi Adventures either, which I
shall confirm. Outside of the animation panel, they actually confirmed
that Young Jedi Adventures will be getting a season three,
which is exciting news for Young Jedi Adventures fans. I
actually watched through them. They are definitively for kids more
(38:40):
than any other Star Wars things. They're definitely for young,
young kids. But I will say there was some or
some potentially moments that were kind of cool for for
parents who are watching it. Not kinda nothing sexual or
anything like that, like dropped, nothing like the Disney used
to do with the Lion King and anything else, but
(39:02):
some momentum was there. Season three might be a little darker.
We could see the Nihill' that's been talking about. Potentially,
It'd be hard to do the Nihill and a young
Jedi version. That's why I always have the gangle we're
a young Worthy basically the young Jedi version of the Nihill.
But I guess we'll find out. I guess we'll find out.
(39:23):
But back to the panel. Back to the panel, we
did get to go through a lot of different cool stories.
Dave Filoni talking about working with George, which always I
love hearing. I love hearing about that Dave and George's
story because they are the framework of Star Wars for
me for growing up at this point. So George Ducas
is an important part of Star Wars. Obviously, the most
important part, but Dave Filoni is bringing the animated stuff
(39:46):
to life with help from George really kind of really
expanded my universe in a lot of different ways. Talk
about some cool war episodes. They were talking about some
stuff they've mentioned before, like they've studied like Battle World
War two Battle and use those as animatics basically. But
it was really kind of cool. We did get to
(40:06):
talk about another arc that they never got to do
in Clone Wars, well not in new Ark. It was
talked about the Boba fet arc, which we've gotten before.
We got that held my celebration. I went to I
got to see some of the the Boba Fett had
been show down as it were, This is more of
that arc, but it was a part that I never
(40:26):
got to see before or here before. That showed basically
Boba Fett and Anakin Anakin chasing down Bubba Fett like
kind of like very similar to Attack on the Clones
with Anakin chasing down Zam westl similar vibes to that,
but obviously Anakin and Boba Fetu unrendered, very not much,
not finished at all. Just like those were so fun
(40:48):
to see. It's always fun to see though it makes
you think, Oh, I wish we could have gotten that.
I wish we could have gotten that. Uh. In fact,
the way they were doing that, I almost felt like
we were going to get a Boa fet series. I got.
I felt like that was going to That's where there
was to be going. We're gonna have this episode be
finished somehow as part of a news series, somehow potentially.
I thought that might be the way they were doing it,
but not. But I was wrong. I was wrong. We
(41:11):
talked more about how Rebels came to Disney and how
Disney did not hinder them in any kind of way,
which is cool. They did ask Faloney to put Darth
Vader into Rebels. This is an interesting story. I thought
Disney pushed Faloney to put Vader in, and Faloni said, well,
if we're going to have Vader in, then he's gonna
have to be Darth Vader, and he's going to have
to be truly evil, which he didn't think Disney would accept.
(41:34):
And bringing Vader in really changed the entire tone of
the show. And if you look back at Rebels, I
think it's absolutely true. With the first batch of season
most of Season one very low key, not it was
very much most mostly Kitty compared to her, and got
still fun, still a lot of fun to be had.
But when Darth Vader came in, all of a sudden,
(41:55):
the show's gonna jump to the next level and got
a little more darker, got a little more intense at
this point, let them bring a soak in, let them
bring the clones back, and and I think it led,
honestly to a better show. I do honestly think that
without the jump and level, rebels might not be as
well remembered. If I'm honest talked about clones, we have
(42:15):
bad batch a little bit, not a whole lot. I'm
happy to hear a little bit of it, though. But
they didn't have time they got it. I feel like
they were out of time because they had to do
some other things. One of the first things they did
was they got to show the first episode of Tales
of the Underworld, and that was that's the new forthcoming
Tales of the anthology series that's coming on May fourth,
(42:37):
six episodes, three episodes of as Sage Venturess, and three
episodes of cad Bane. We got to see not we Royal,
We who was at celebration, who was in that panel,
got to see a full episode of the series, and
it was the first episode from the Sage Ventures Sark spoilers.
If you don't let her know, I'll give you five segments.
I gonna pause for a minute. We get to see
(43:00):
Obi Wan Kenobi Quinlan Vass, and we got to know
that this is the episode we get to see here
brought back and answers all the questions about how she's
sister survived Dark Dark Disciple or how she came back
from Darknesciple, all the questions that we asked when we
saw her in the Bad Batch and when they were
teased that her story wasn't done, and we all kind
of most of us thought that this was going to
(43:20):
be the next series. But we get to get it
into the tales of which is kind of cool. Also,
the Kiners are scoring it as they should. That's gonna
be fun. I've heard it from multiple people that it's
a banger banger an episode and then we're getting everything
we wanted to get. So I'm glad about that. When
(43:41):
that happened, as I'm not watching the panel and just
like as I'm watching social media, when they showed the episode,
I figured that was it, Like they're ending with the
exclusive episode. I was very, very disappointed. I was like, what,
that's it. We're not gonna get any more bullshit. Got
l angry, I admitted, I admit I was hoping for it.
I know, and that's on me, right I'm I can't.
(44:03):
You can't have your hope. Let you assume what's going
to happen, and if you assume too much, that's when
you get disappointed. But luckily I had to eat my
words and go wait, recon scratch her. They came back
from the episode in Collins to user announcement, showing off
a special twenty anniversary of Animation poster which they got
(44:25):
at celebration. It's a phenomenal looking poster if you find
it online. It's beautiful. Basically, they said, let's say there
was a new series and the thea Portio, who was
out with Dave Filona, who got all the praise at
the end, I got all the praise, and rightfully so,
she says, I would talk about it. I would just
show it, and they went ahead and showed a trailer
for the next premiere animated show. That's right, mall shadow Lord, Yes,
(44:54):
Sam were appeared right afterwards, and much then got to
pull his own little Ian McDermott said, I rolled to gun.
He just said play it again in Darth Maul voice
or in Ball voice. I should say they got a
teaser for that as well. We have not gotten said teaser.
I was wrong and that I thought it was going
to come out the end of this year. We don't
(45:15):
have an exact day yet, but it does say it
did say it was coming out in twenty twenty six.
A lot of cool things I've heard about. The teaser
does appear that we're going to see a version of
Darth Taylon. If you don't know who that is. Darth
Tailan was a character from the Legacy comic book run,
(45:35):
which was far far in the future in Legends era,
with a basically a meditated descendant of Luke Skywalker Kid Skywalker.
Darth Taalen was one of the villainous of villainous characters
of that series who George Lucas actually liked so much
when he read about her, he had was going to
(45:55):
bring her in himself. He wanted to pitch her on
some different tales. Darth Darth Purginey, Darth Baginey is right.
He had some story lines potentially for her never worked out,
but eventually he liked her so much that when he
pitched his own version of the sequel trilogy as he
sold it to Disney, Darth Maul and Darth Taylin were
(46:15):
going to be the two main baddies of the entire
sequel trilogy. So it's oppressed with that. George like a
compic character that much to bring her in. So but
she did kind of well, at least character that everybody
believes with her and I think is her. When he
made an appearance in the teaser footage, that's exciting to me,
Maul having an apprentice. He did. Sam Oorer did later
(46:38):
on say it takes place a year after the Clone Wars.
That's when it starts out. At least, I don't know
if it's gonna just stay there or as We don't
know how long this show is. Is it like a
season long, Is it a a typical three season length show.
Is it an unlimited ten season length show. I'm hoping
that we're going to get from point A two point
(46:58):
B point B being actually should say they point Z,
which is point Z is mal Korr when we see
him in Rebels for the first time, but that should
hopefully bring in the characters from Crimson Dawn from Solo.
We hopefully get some Kia. Whether or not it's going
to be voiced by the actress, I don't know, but
I would like to see Kira being played there. We've
(47:18):
got to see a lot of different Underworld tactics and
Crimson down there. This is where Honda Watch could absolutely
come into play. Mal and Honda have a history. Let's
bring it back together. It could be very fun, could
be very fun. It looked like the art style that
I did see looked very similar to the Clone Wars
bad Batch style of art. Not too much out of
(47:38):
the way I do think I read it. I wish
I had credit this person because I read this on
social media. It was an interesting idea they had. You
could go more stylized with his animated effort, and it
could work if you do it and have it be
like a version into Mal's mind. And let's imagine that
these characters from Mal's past are on a haunting him.
(48:00):
You'd have like Setine being in his mind. You could
have because you have that that they had, like the
altar to uh setin off crossed out and his anger
at obi Wan. You could have Satin in there. You
could have like his brother and his head sealed after that,
a lot of different kind of cool things. The descent
of Mall into madness as it were, because we've got
(48:21):
to I'll admit, he's not really all there by the end,
by the end of his run of his life, it
could be a kind of a cool style of the
way to attack this show. I'm very interested to see
this show because having mal as the lead is having
a villain as a lead is always interesting. The temptation
is always there to give them redemptive arcs, to give
(48:42):
them more, to humanize them more. The Penguin was a
great example of how they didn't do that. They kind
of what they kind of thought you might be doing
that before they turned it on and turned it on you.
I'm not gonna spoil the entire thing, but they do
actually turn it on your ass at the end. I'm
hoping they stick with Mall being as a villa this
as he is, and I think they will because Faloney
(49:03):
in the panel was talking about how when you talk
about Vader, you have to have and be what George
Lucas wattam to be. You can't change him otherwise that
ripples get sent out throughout canon. So if Mal's going
to be in there, he better be mall the entire time,
which means you can have other characters that are good
be in there potentially as well. You're gonna show the
(49:25):
other side of things. But you can see a lot
different characters in There's a lot of different potentially. You
can get Hondo, you can get Obi one, you can
get a Sosoka. You We don't really know what's gonna
happen at this point. We don't know when they last
saw each other. We can get Han Solo, we can
get Lando, we can get a lot of from people
going in there.
Speaker 1 (49:40):
So I don't know.
Speaker 2 (49:41):
It's gonna be interesting for sure. I'm excited about that.
Twenty twenty six can't come soon enough for that. Twenty
twenty six year is gonna be a big year for
Star Wars. We talked about it being the end of
Star Wars after and Or and then Tales of the Underworld. Yes,
twenty twenty five is dry after that, although visions might
be coming out the end of this year's still so
that could Tide is over twenty It's going to get
Maul we're going to get Mandalorian and Groku. We're going
(50:04):
to get Ahsoka season two. A lot coming for Star
Wars fans, so yeah, let's get ready for that for sure.
But yeah, that was the animated panel, My favorite panel
definitely of the weekend. A lot of good stuff. They
got exclusive cheeser, they got exclusive episode. That's pretty cool,
pretty cool overall. So all right, what else we got here?
(50:24):
The last panel, I we'll talk about news wise, we
did get the live and Ord season two panels today,
I'll talk to two panels and Or and Ahsoka panels
were today. Not a whole lot obviously from and Or panel.
News wise, they did get to see the first episode.
It was a great conversation. Diego Luna was there, Tony
Gilroy was there, Jedi b O'Reilly Denisko, Kyle Soler, Alan Tunic,
(50:46):
Andrew R. Jonah and Son Woomberg all over there. That
was pretty cool. Talking about how many they had a
great amount of sets. Son Woomberg, who is the executive producer.
By the way, I said, it's one hundred and forty sets,
seven hundred costumes, one hundred two pictures of creatures, forty
one hundred v x shots. That's a lot. That is
a lot. The cast tease a lot of different things
(51:11):
for season two without saying a whole lot. They teased
a lot a little bit. O'Riley said, we are going
we go through dark places this season. Denise Goho says,
we find out where Deda comes from. Things will get
a little strange. Goho says, it was much darker this season.
It wasn't as much a girl boss. It's much more fascist.
Kyle solo of course, as it's really weird. Cyrilla started
the season looking pretty good about himself. He has a
(51:32):
new promotion. He's flexing a small amount of power that
he has. He's trying to flex the trying to flex
this pointing to Denise and it goes super well. A
lot of staring. They had a great chemistry between them.
They're very fun together, not the characters they were. Denise
and Kyle are very fun together much more. You will
root for them much more in real life than you
do with their characters, that's for sure. Audreia John a
(51:55):
great timeer. She's genuinely really excited about everything. I was
going to see Allan tudic back. He's coming back at
to see the birth of K two sl this season,
he did. He said he did have for a time,
Ol hold out hope for his own spin off to
Kate Too Fast Kates Who's Too Furious? That would have
been wonderful. The birth of k tso gave me a
(52:16):
little bit of pause. I thought we might just skip
over them meeting together, and that'd be the way they
would not contradict the cannon comic that they have. But
does look like if you hear that, then maybe the
cannon comic is going to be uh kicks snade And
I understand when people are upset by that. But at
the same time, I think it's okay. I think it's okay.
(52:37):
You can kind of reckon something if if something comes along,
if one off column book is there and you liked it,
I get it. But having the Tony Gilroy TV show
overwrite that it's campfire stories, guys, cal campfire stories. You
can tell them different It's a fictional world. You can
see different things and you can all depend on what
you want to see. I'm not too upset about it,
(52:59):
So if you're upset about it, I'm sorry. I try
to be empathetic, but I it won't bother me if
we got a new version of it for sure? Yeah,
and diego very happy U. And they showed episode two
or episode one rather of the second season and it
was well well received. Also on YouTube there is a
(53:20):
behind the scenes feature, a new one with some new footage.
I did watch it, shouldn't watch it. We're so close,
So why am I getting anything else? Why am I
spoiling myself now? But I did well? What can I say?
I have very little week, I have very little weak
will power. I'm a very weak for sure. Next up,
a little brief thing before we go into the Soca panel.
We did get an announcement of a new lego Star
(53:42):
Wars Rebuilt the Galaxy Pieces of the Past with a
box of Sosoka Tanel and it is voiced by Ashley Exstein,
so she returns to the character kind of in a way.
I did enjoy the first one. We covered it here
on the podcast. We'll probably cover this one as well
because we'll be during the relatively dry period of Star
Wars content, so Galaxy in September nineteenth. We'll do it
(54:02):
all episodes, so we will take a couple lot of time.
Who knows. I'm excited about that. I'm fun enough. I
think that's a fun enough thing some people as a kiddy, sure,
but is it fun? Absolutely some of the best WEF
content is out there. All right, let's go on to
the final bit ah Soka season two. This or was
actually mentioned. This panel was touted smartly, so touted as
(54:26):
they look back at season one and it was the
most part. It does allow us to get a little
bit of news at the end. But first the panel itself,
we talked we did look back at season one and
got to talk about Dave, Dave, John and Reserve of
Dawson started the panel off, got to you hero a
few more stories about George Lucas being on set, oh
(54:48):
pushing Dave to go further, John and him having some
barbs about who gets control of what. Basically you're playing
in each other's toy box. Dave Royd took ownership of
some of his characters and that's when he start to
getting more in charge of some things. John jokingly said
that he day would let him play with the lightsabers
as well. Lightsabers are in Ahsoka and none are in
the Mandalorian and Dave joked that you know, fat rocod
(55:11):
say thron In in Laurian, but eastarm is gonna be
in Ahsoka, which is kind of cool, funny, but talk
about a lot of different random things. It was all
good conversation. But bring the Soaka to live action cast
in Rosario. The collaboration between everybody highlight of the big
(55:32):
first Big Higli. They started talking about Ahsoka and Anakin
and how that's the key of the series. Are the
key of Ahsoka's character. Really, no one has more influence
on Ahsoka than her master Anakin. Skywalker got a video
from episode five and Hayden Kushnerson, the Chosen One himself,
walks out talks about his time on Ahsoka and bringing
the Clone Wars level to a new era. A live
(55:55):
action with the young arian Glean Blatt, which people screened
her name, which is of course so she did a
wonderful job as well, a lot of fun to be
had with them, Hayden and Dave having some great moments
where they talked about how wonderful they They talked about
how wonderful they were working with George and how George
(56:15):
they both went to the school of George Lucas and
how that influenced them and how they both were on
the same page because of that, so it made them
very easy to work with each other, very cool as well.
A lot more about that, But then at the end
of the end of the panel, it was the host
turns at the end of the first season, what does
the ending mean? And Dave Filonia says, it means you
got season two and that's what we're here to talk about.
(56:37):
The celebration recap I'm doing is more about news than
anything else. We'll get the other side of things and
Patty Catsia next Thursday, he says, according to season two,
Roseia sas, we're about to go into it in a
week when we started filming, so they haven't filmed anything yet.
That was always my question whether or not I knew
they were starting sometime in April. I didn't know if
they were starting it and then coming to celebration or
(56:58):
is wearying her celebration we've done and then going to film.
Seems like they haven't filmed done anything, which is why
we don't get any teaser or anything putage here. Wise,
we did, I say we again, so we I wasn't
there and I didn't get any of it. Anyway, There
was a retro style teaser for season two using you know,
concept art and things of that nature. We'll get to
(57:18):
but let's get there first Rosera dust and saying we're
starting in a week. They said season two was a
big challenge Dave. In many ways, it was particularly challenging
because of losing Ray Stevenson. I think Ray from working
as a voice actor with him. I always thought that
when I make a live action I needed him. I
needed to play a powerful Jedi knight that I had
in mind. He was wonderful to all of us. How
big a loss do you think it is? It's bigger.
(57:39):
There's a challenge for me to even think about continuing
the character. But I had a great team around me,
and I'm confident now that they would be happy with
the direction we're going in. We're continuing because the character
was meant to be important. Balen is representing a parallel
to a Soca, as someone who walked away from the
order in a different way. It led us to the
idea of bringing someone else to play the part. I
talked with John and we decided we need to find
(58:00):
the right person, and we thought we need someone to
play the part that understood what Ray did and that's
when Dave announced. Of course that what something that we
already knew. Rory McCann taking over the role. Got a
couple of shots of him as Baalin. I think they
looks good. I think he looks great in the role.
I think he's gonna bring everything that he has to
this role, and I think he's going to do it
to honor his friend Ray Stevenson as well. That's the
(58:23):
important part to me. Not only can he do the
film or not only can he do the character and
look like the character. He got to really understand Ray
and bring what Ray had to it. So it's like
it's almost like it's double it's really doing double duty.
It's not just someone who's just taking over a part.
He's really trying to invoke his friend. Yes, and yes,
(58:44):
he was breaking when he was talking about Ray. It
was kind of a it was a very sad moment
for sure. I think Rory mccannon's probably the best given
his relationship with Ray Stevenson and what David saying about it.
But I think it's the best way to move forward.
Because you recasting, sometimes you don't recap ask me you
have respect for the actors so much. I never liked
that because I think the actor generally, if the character
(59:06):
is that beloved, you honor him by continuing. The character
got to continue and right choose carefully, make sure it's
done properly. In this case, I'm confident that it is.
I'm confident that it is. So. Yeah, Floronia talked about
couple other pictures we had. He had thrown up there
some cool bits. I will I actually capture any of those.
I might gonna capture of those. I don't think I
(59:27):
capture any of those. Oh there is why I did
after again to see the ghost right there? Baby, you
see the ghost right there? So in that LeFlo left
hand corner. Some more of that, for sure. Dave Felloni
did tease at one point we're gonna get heroes fighting
in two different galaxies. Soh Soka and Balen Skull in
one area, and I guess thing it's going to be,
you know, Harah and Ezra leading charge against thrown and
(59:49):
the other ones alongside another friend of the rebellion, another
big important cover of the rebellion. Uh, someone who has
never gotten quite the do that he probably deserves. Of course,
the great wonderful confirmed by Filoniu himself in the unusually
locacious mood, he confirmed Admiral Akbar will be in season
(01:00:10):
two and he is going to be going head to
head with Raun, the great tactician from the Rebellion, the
great tactician of the Imperial Remnants. That's awesome. I'm glad
see Adiral Appart come back. I will say that I
enjoyed the Secrel trilogy, the fact that he got short
shipped a little bit. Not that he died. I didn't care.
(01:00:31):
I would mostly sacrifice the area that got killed during
the battle. I just wanted to see Personally, I just
wanted to see him do more. I just want to
see more from him basically, so getting any more from
him in any time frame, but especially this one, I
think that's a good way to do it. Yeah. Personally,
I'm excited about season two. I don't know about you guys,
but I really am. Furthermore, we've got to see Love
(01:00:53):
Kittens because Dave has to pay the show is about.
Of course. Hayden also did confirm the anagain his coming
back for season two, and that was a big exciting moment,
and then went into this trailer slash teaser retro trailer
with footage no footage, but with I should say no
actual film footage because haven't filmed or anything yet. But
(01:01:15):
concept art and the lake we got to see in
the concept darts supposedly so being Chopper, Hera and Zeb
all involved in that, uh and those those alerts. Nothing
about the rumored obi Wan and the even more rumor
of padme clon war stuff. Nothing was in that for sure.
But I still feel we could get obi Wan. I
(01:01:39):
still feel like you and Gregor could make an appearance
in a flashback. I would not be shocked. I would
not be shocked at all. Yeah, and Douglas, I agree.
I want more. I want more of adnamal Acbar. That's
why I want more of these shows. Some people want
to get away from the known characters. I say, no,
let's get more of characters that we do like and
connectivity one characters that we don't have enough of. Adn't
Actbar's that kind of character you can put into a
(01:02:00):
show and expand on him alongside other characters. That's the
way to do it. That's the way to do it.
As far as I'm concerned, I get not wanting any
more Luke or Hana lay that kind of thing. I
understand that to a degree, doesn't mean we have to
close off the entirety of have all new characters. But yeah,
that was the end of that panel. I think that's
actually gonna do it for you tonight. I got an
hour in without Maddy, hoping you enjoyed a little bit
(01:02:23):
of this tonight, like everything way you think? What do
you like from celebration of the news? Are you excited
about Star Wars? How was your What did you think
