Speaker 1 (00:11):
PLD Projects presents Holy Snokes, the Star Wars podcast featuring
PLD and Maddie Gunner. May the Force be with you always,

(00:41):
the salutations everybody. Welcome back to an episode of Holy Snow.
Surfirst a little bit. I am PLD here in the
Pod Products Network with me as always my hetero life
maiden partner and co pilot Matty Gunner. How are you doing,
my friend?

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Salutations? Good?

Speaker 1 (00:58):
What's going on there?

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Frond? Not much, dude, honestly, honestly, not not no, not
a whole bunch of a lot. I had a little
little adventure over the summer, which was which was cool.
Life caught up to me. So now just chilling. He

(01:20):
was with my buddy talking stars. How about you the same.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
I've had life's life hitting me left and right. So
I've had some schedule issues here and there, but you know,
I'm bob and weaving. You know, it's not about how
how hard you get hit. So hard to take a
hit and move forward in a little rocky thing, and
I like that. S W has been with me.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
I can speak from experience. It is about how hard
you get it. It is very much about how hard
you get hit.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
But then the eye. Do you move forward? Can you
still return the fire?

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Come on, let to move your head for a stop.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
That's true. True, it's better than if you don't get hit.
I guess that's the best way to say it.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yeah, you can take a hit, as Floyd Mony way,
whether would say hit and don't get hit.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Here you go. I like that too, But if you're
near to the channel, you can have to like and subscribe.
But we are kind of an irregular podcast. Recently we've
had some schedule issues, but we're trying to go every
other week. We did recently change our format kind of
where it's like every other week, I'm every other episode,
I'm gonna be doing a news bit every other episode.
Maddie will join us doing more thematic stuff, more review
and of course we're doing reviews as shows come out,

(02:28):
like this week a show came out Rebuild the Galaxy
from the Pieces of the Past, the Lego Star Wars,
which we're going to talk about. But we did get
hijacked with some news bits that did come in that
I don't want to wait an there are two weeks
to talk about. So I'm roping Maddie in, even though
he doesn't love to do news. I'm Rokee Maddian to
do a little bit of a use.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
I got the message like we go one or two
news bits. I was like Jesus, he's hoodwinked me. He's
got me and he's got me in. But we will
have the announcement of a kind of off shoot if
you will, towards the end at the end. But uh,

(03:07):
it's gonna be it's gonna be fune with class Action
being on on a on a hiatus at the minute.
It's a cool way. I think that we can bridge
the two together.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
So I think so, I think so I'll let you
announce it that you I did come up with the name,
So yeah, so let's let you do that for sure.
But let's get right into it. We are going to
talk about the news bits first and then we'll briefly
talk about Rebuild these Galaxy because I kind of mentioned
this off air. It's kind of funny you get this
coming out Rebuild the Galaxy lego stuff. It's always fun,

(03:40):
but it's not a whole lot to like sit there
and break down review. You're not finding deep thematic like
resonating bits and piece. It's more like quick a quick
bit of that's my favorite part. Oh, I like this bit.
This was funny. It's like that kind of so that's
what I like. But I enjoyed it, and I think
we'll have a fun time talking about it, and I

(04:00):
hope we get work as they are always fun. But
let's uh, let's get into the news bits this week.
The first one I'm talking about is I'm not gonna
go right into the big one. I'm gonna say that
for the end, some news that we haven't talked about
accordingly since my last news episode. I'll get Maddie's you know,
Ruval and the comments on some of these.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
He ran it by the North Korean census.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
I did, and the North Korean censors allowed it. Met
I said he would comment on some of them and
listen and have something to say perhaps, But let's go out.
The first one we got Ah Soca Season two is
already filming, but we did find out what director we have,
and we do know which directors are directing which episodes.

(04:43):
For the most part, there is a possibility.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Were direct is a directing. I was like, I'm pretty
sure that's the whole point.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Chapters we're directing which episodes? There we go so here
you go. Last we heard in July four directors were
involved in a Soca. We had Dave Pialoney obviously, we
had Bryce Dallas Howards, which is her first venture in Tiohsoka,
which kind of surprised me. I kind of forgot that
she hadn't done He's in one of the Soca. But
she is our goddess and she is our queen. We're
happy to have her directing more Star Wars. As far

(05:11):
as I'm computer, I hope so newcomers Jennifer get Singer,
who have directed episodes of Agent Carter, Daredevil, Jessica Jones,
and Westworld, which is That's what I'm saying. I like, honestly.
The funny thing about that is with PJ and I
on our Patreon, I'm doing the mcu rewatch. I'm giant

(05:34):
as you watch all the films and Netflix shows. In
between the films, I'm watching the Netflix all the shows.
Like we're not really covering the movies, but like I'm
watching the whole thing in order, like as far as
the reversal, Like there's a movie, all this suff in
release order, what happened in between? So like he's in
like forty episodes in like two weeks, like Agents of
Shield that I'm getting to.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
That I literally was pretty fucking great.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
It is.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
It is a pretty depressive finish as season three. I'm
very very happy to continue. I never actually finished that.
I stopped like season two when it was around. Now,
I'm going to about it.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
If they do the whole Battle of Thing and that's
the ghost Rider they bring back, that'd be great. I'm
gonna be pissed.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Oh okay, pissed. You don't like that one?

Speaker 2 (06:20):
When we've got Nick Cage's ghost Rider? Are you kidding me?

Speaker 1 (06:23):
That's fair? Okay, that's fair. You could have both.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
You could have both, have him come back his book
Spider Man one.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
I mean Nick Cage. If I'm correct, Nick Cage was
Johnny Blaze, isn't this guy Robbie raised? So they could
have both.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
The chirp, Yeah, you're right, Yeah, yeah, you could have both.
I like what you're doing and I see that.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
But it's funny about Jenner Getsinger are going back to
that because I just recently watched Asian Carter. I watched
You for Dreed a whole season one. I watched Uska
Jones season one, so I watched a bunch of her recently,
and of course West World with that Harris, I've watched
that a bunch of times, so I know all about her.
I'm excited to have her in Star Wars Universe for sure. Uh.
And the final name was Anders Angster, who did episode
is see Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which I did watch.

(07:03):
I enjoyed all of those.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
And that's the show, right, the show YEP. I need
to I need to watch that because I really enjoyed
Percy Jackson.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
It's a fun show. I really appreciate. I can't wait
for the next season to come out. It says here,
and that's this article. We need that Two of the
directors were assigned to three of the episodes, and now
we have a clear picture of who's handling what. According
to IMDb, get Singer is directing the second and third episodes,
Bryce Dallas Howard's directing the fourth and fifth episodes. Engstrom's
directing the sixth and seventh episodes, which leaves the first

(07:31):
in the eighth. Now that would lead to believe that
Dave Filoni would be directing the first and eighth That
would make sense. I'll leave it out there. There's the
potential that there's an unknown director we haven't heard about
yet it's doing one of them. But I would bet
that it's Tave doing one an eight. But what are
your thoughts on this directing crew and where they are?

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Why I didn't really know who they were until you
told me who they were. My one beef with the
deade on Netflix show is it gets all the credit
for the hallway fight scenes, like none of you on
None of you like uncultured swines, have ever watched Oh Boy,
I watch, You've watched Old Boy. I know we've talked
about Oh Boy, Yes, and did like guys the hallway

(08:11):
fight scene came from Oh Boy. No, Daniel right, But
that inclinds me to believe we're going to get some
form of a hallway fight scene in a Soca, which
I am more than okay with.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Oh yeah, me too.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Absolutely, Rice Dallas Howard, I mean what he said, always
a winner, Like she's great, she should be doing a movie.
She should be my opinion, she should be doing a trilogy.
But yeah, Dave, having Dave start and end the story
makes sense. Yeah, I like it.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
I think it's the worst way to do it at
this point. I do my Soca has always been an
interesting thing for me because Dave just loves the character
so much, love a story much. He takes on so
much himself, a little too much. That's my point as well.
I feel like he should have had I don't like
the fact that he writes the entire thing himself. He
always did his best work with like a writer room.

(09:04):
That's where we had Simon Kimberg directingly, like writing the
greatest episodes of Rebels. He should have a hand in it.
But Dave's a little Georgia should away. He has these
great stories, doesn't always have the best dial of her
way to get there. He's kind of got that great
storytelling vibe and everything else, but he needs a little
help to kind of like put it all together as
an episode of TV. So I would like to see
him do more, and I'm hoping that maybe the directors
are helped me nout with that. But this is a

(09:26):
like I said, Bryce Alice Howard, brilliant director no Star
Wars at the back of her hand, uh and the
other two. I know he's Jennifer, I know has done
very good work. So I'm hoping with this team that
there's a little more collaboration that this.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Did you say what episodes of the Dead ever she did?

Speaker 1 (09:41):
It does not. I didn't get a chance to look
it up either. Unfortunately had it written down somewhere, but
I can't find that note now, but we'll look into it.
But I I love pretty much every episode.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Of Daredevil, not to so one again too.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
Yeah, I can't. I can't wait for one again. I
have indeed, I have indeed great. I love you know
how much I love Benson moreha. Now two it's going
to be more like because Benson Morehead took over midway
through after they had shot a lot, so really like
second season is going to be more full on Benson
Mohead and I can't wait.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
For that for sure.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Get more than that.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
I want Vincent and.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
I would love that. I would love info Star Wars.
He would handle that, I did see. Yeah, dude, da
yeah right.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Or he's a big yeah. Absolutely he is having player.
We've got one Jack to have him have a second one?

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Absolutely absolutely? Uh. Next step, we got the first Star
Wars star Fighter behind the scenes photo was released and
I'm assuming you took a look at this at one
point when it came out.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Which one is when we talking about the black and
white one or the one the Meta training an ocean.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
In the middle of that, I went, looks one of
the looks like they're remaking West water World, water World. Yeah,
it looks like water World, water cost Away Away. Look
at lot kid's named Wilson.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Because from like what it looked like like he was
holding onto. Maybe it was just the way they're shooting it.
They're going to have just like the handle bars, you
know how like they'll shoot a car scene, they'll have
the front of the car and then all the rest
of it is greens green.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Maybe they're just gonna like have the.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Front of the ship and the rest of it they'll
previs in Yah, But I don't know. It looks like
she was kind of stranded on the water someone.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Dude, you know, it's funny. Somebody brought it up and
I was like, you talking about this because I discourse
something else. The Division three EU and not. He does
kind of look like Ryan Gossin, kind of looks like
Kate Skywalker a little bit.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Those legacy I really hope they don't go the k
Skywalk group.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
I don't think they will. I don't think I will.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
They probably won't but like something in my soul is
just saying, like, don't even it could it could be.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
One of those like cherry picked nods like Kate not
Kate Skywalker. But you know, I mean like the same character.
But I don't go to the person and make him
a descendant of Luke at all, probably in a way
to be kind of weird. But and it's also not
far enough from the future to really have that unless
you're gonna say he was a missing son of Luke
from all his.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
Time, but like Luke's Boston son.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Yeah, I don't think they'll do that because Sean Levey
has been pretty adamant that it's like a standalone's Katen. Yeah,
it's no. I love that. It's no every galaxy has
a North, so some wrere but yeah, but I love
that idea though. I do love the idea of that
kind of character though kind of like maybe he's for

(12:53):
sensitive but has rejected the for sensitivity. Mm that's what
I did. They could play with because we don't get
to see that very much. Like you see, like it's
is like the failed Jedi, the dark Tyane. He's not
a dark Jed. I maybe he's just kind of like
someone who maybe a little like Jod, but like not
as like necessarily I hope not well like that, like
a pirate kind of character, just kind of like a
guy that's like he doesn't want to be a Jedi,

(13:13):
like he has the forest possibilities, but he wants to
be a pilot. That's what he wants to do, Like
you know what I mean, doesn't want to be a Jedi,
he wants to be a pilot.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
I really don't want any any Force stuff at all.
I want to I want to. I just want a
pilot movie. Just give me, Just give me talk gun
God have a cinematographer from talking Maverick.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Oh there's gonna be that.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Just give me like full on pilot movie.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
If there's not.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
He's like a washed up pilot, like kicked out of
the like the New Republic Naval Academy, like he is, Maverick.
And what a way to get Harris in a movie, huh?

Speaker 1 (13:52):
Like I like her, like her heads out of that
advocate the Hammer as in Star Wars. You probably well,
I think you're you're not And I see what you
mean by that, And I think you're absolutely right in
terms of they don't have they don't use that when
I'm talking her of that purpose. That's got to be
why they hired him. I mean, it's got to be.
It's a it's a movie. It's called Starfighter. It's gonna
be a very piloting movie. It's gonna be a lot
of Starfighter pilot. But I think you could still have

(14:14):
him be a four sense of that's why he's such
a good pilot, like you do one those things. Like
I mean, for years we're like it's Han solo for sensitive,
that's why it's a good pilot. No, Hans really not.
He's kind of like maybe he.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Is, Like I mean, every everyone is for sensitive, but
like it just depends on your degree. Go watch Guy
Jarrow's study of Midi Chlorin's that he did, Like everyone
is four sensitive. It's just like varying degrees. But it's
not like we're going to make that clear. It's just
like I just want so, I just want to talk.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Well that's what I'm saying though, But but you could
have it be like that, Like, for example, you could
have this guy have like for sensitivity, like maybe Ray
or somebody tried to recruit him and he's like, now
I want to be a starfighter thing. But he finds
a kid who is for sensitive, so he he has
a connection to the Jedi, so he could be bringing
back I think could be one of those stories where
you connect the two and I think you shouldn't be

(15:04):
a Jedi Engin end up being a Jedi, you just
stay a pilot. Having him had that connection could be
an interesting way to strat of the lines I speak.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
And that's another thing I want to bring up. They
said this is stand alone, leave it standalone. I post credits.
Oh of post credit dude, I am so sick of
post creditsing. Like I want to watch Fantastic four right right,
you're showing me Doom for like five seconds if if

(15:36):
that like I already know Dooms coming up because the
next movie is called fucking Doomsday. I don't need you
to start promoting the next movie in the movie that
I'm watching, because now all I'm going to hear walking
out of the movie theory is, oh my god, doom,
Oh my god. It's that RDJ not like the people's
like brain function, like attention span is so short these

(15:58):
days that soon is like if they do like a
five second like post credits and ray appears and she
takes this kid from Ryan Gosling or anyone's gonna be
talking about? Is Ray the next Ray movie? When's the
next Y movie coming? How does this kid connect to Ray?
How is Ryan Gosling going to be in a movie

(16:20):
with Daisy Ridley?

Speaker 1 (16:21):
Like enough, I get what you're saying, and I don't
think I'll love a post credit scene, but I would
actually be surprised if Ray is not at the end
of the movie, because it does it does fit the storyline.
Like if the storyline is what's rumored to be the storyline,

(16:41):
is this kid he's protecting this from something again, Yeah,
well lo God, but the idea of being maybe he
was for a sensitive that's like the rumor whatever. If
that is a story and he is trying to get that,
he's trying to get them to a Jedi, then Ray
is what makes sense story wise for him to go to.
Like who was she gonna take him to? There's no
other Jedi around at that point, Like, so you got

(17:02):
to take them to There's no doubt. I mean, I
guess you could do it that way potentially, but you're
about these I don't think there's a Jedi.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Around, so you just take this kid. You take a
kid to someone who knows how to use the force,
might be a Jedi.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
Interesting, but I don't say I don't see them doing that,
and the strongly be doing that movie to bet that
there'd be a different kind of movie.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
You know what I really want? Well, I would if
we're doing if we're doing any kind of connectivity, I
want Ryan Gosten character to be broom Boy.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
I would love that. I would love that.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Because what is the last thing we see in broom
Boy looking at in the sky ship right now?

Speaker 1 (17:42):
I could be quiet very cool.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
I heard it turn that if Ryan Gosling's kid and
character turns out to be broom Boy, I would be
stoped at that.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
I don't think he can be that. I don't think
it's old enough to be because last Jedi it's only
five years after cause last Edi and right of Scybocke
aren't that far apart, and then right.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
It's five quicker.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
Yes you can. I don't see that happening, but I
get what you're saying. I would like to have Broomboy
be one of the kids that greeched the kid.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Yeah, maybe the boy is the kid.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Right, But I wouldn't be saying I think that you're
gonna put ray in there to ease ray back, and
I kind of think I think the movie itself will
be standalone overall, but like it'll haved that like small
connectivity towards.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
The end of it. Cheap dude, it's such a like
it's to use the wrestling time.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
It's a cheap pop it is, but it's also the
vernacular of the time. Also, that's the I mean, you
gotta kind of build hype somehow, and that's how they
do it.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
I try to do it that way, is it, Ryan Gosling,
I get what you mean that Smith and me and
Goth isn't enough.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
No, they're trying to build type for the next one.
That's the built it. That's not build hyper this movie.
That's build hyper for the next one.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
I'm sure that's why people when we had this discussion,
that is why people getting sick of the ship.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Well why.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
Because we just got the movie and we know which
one's coming next. We don't need you telling us.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
Do we. We don't know right now when movies coming
next technically and in Star Wars versus all we.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Know in general, Like this whole post this whole postddit.
That's it, like make a movie to sell that. How
about you just make a good movie.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
I got it Marvel into itself because that was that
was part of the Marvel hype back in the day
when Marvel was at its peak. That's what it was doing,
was leading from story and story story, and that was
exciting part. But you're right in that the movies were
usually just as big as the post credits. That's the difference,
and now it's less that way now. I agree, it
gets annoying with all they talk about. I WoT say

(19:38):
Thunderbolt did a good job with though even with that
post credits scene, know, the fantastic for ship whatever, I
still feel like the talk was more about the Thunderbolts.
Watch I left off that movie o post credits he didn't.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
Yeah, already I'd already had it pollet for me, so
there was no point me like that watching it.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
That's fair, But I don't think we actually are gonna
agree on this, But that's okay, that's what we're doing
civil that's true. Actually disagree a lot, very civilly.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
But can't I remember, can't boy up on a on
a four cent on once he was like talking about
He was like, sometimes they pick it quite a bit.
I'm like, do we do we thicker? I think we do.
I don't know. I don't know if it's bickering, if
it's more like a lover's quarrel.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
Couldn't be. It couldn't be. Yeah, we so love working
together and it's impressed that way.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
So I think it's because we can't reach through the
screen and kill each other. Right, keeps this?

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Thank God actually for me, because you would, I'd be
tapping out about two minutes. Probably.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
That's generous.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
That is generous. I try to run away. I might
be the last. I run away a little bit, all right, cheat,
all right, chet, I got a bottle or something, play dirty,
kicking the nuts. Whatever it takes, man, whatever it takes.

(20:59):
I'm not Jedi. I don't know, Billy. I'm about keeping
myself alive, all right, by.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
Your sin?

Speaker 1 (21:14):
All right? Next up, before we get into the trailer,
one little bit of news that is important for this podcast. Specifically,
I will say if I have a Star Wars universe
as a whole after voice actor, I should say Jim
Cummings was in the news briefly hinting at more Onnaka

(21:36):
to come. Oh, the stories, I could tell so many
of them. True, He was asked about both. He was
asking about Honda what cold potentially happen. Speaking to the
direct during the San Diego Comic Con, he was asked
if we could see Honko making an appearance at the
upcoming Mall shadow or animated series. Though he wouldn't confirm
anything explicit, he did state and I quote, I think

(21:59):
they're gonna have to stay tuned because Hondo is not
done yet. And all I could think just don't give
me hope, don't give me help.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
Okay, right, this is what the third time he said.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
This, second, the first time he said that. The first
time he said some about facial recognition, he had recorded
some facial reconnictionally he said he'd record a facial recognition
for it. Now, this was right around the time that
the download of content for Outlaws, the Hondo Outlaws dominal
content was released, So I kind of feel like that

(22:40):
was what he was talking about. But this is the
comment he's saying after that, So this is not that
this has been out for Wilson unless and to be fair,
he is an older gentleman. I don't know if his
fingers are on the pulse about when things are released.
So maybe he's still talking about Outlaws, and I even
knowing it's been released yet, potentially I could make I
don't know. I don't know. I just done assume he's saying,

(23:01):
but I didn't say like I think we might go.
He said that there's more to con that he has
not done yet. That means that he's doing something. What
it is, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
So I was at MGS con and the voice actor
Brian Cummings was there, who is a voice actor for
the Metal Guest Solid franchise. I had a distinct moment
of a lapse of memory where I almost walked over

(23:34):
to him because we were all in the same hotel,
like all the voice actors, the guests, the crew, everyone,
we were all in the same hotel. I see him
at the bar. The is a Hilton Hotel bar, so
it's a nice bar, and I think I'm going to
walk over and I'm going to ask him what the
hell is going on with Handa And I get like,

(23:55):
literally couldn't been any more than ten steps from the mayor.
I'm like, oh wait, that was Jim coming.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
I wish you did because that was a story to happen.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
Bear in mind, I'm sober now, so I wasn't even drunk.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
And this is why I love you, Maddie. I was.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
I was so like, I just heard voice actor Cummings.
I was like, you're son of a bitch. Now's the time.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
Let me get you drunk and ask you.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
And I was gonna like ask him, and then I
was gonna have this whole plan in my head of
like I'm gonna ask him, and then I'm gonna like
came to do the Hondo voice and I'm gonna do
a video message for pod for him to play on
the show. Like I had this whole plan in my head.
And then I was like, I was like, that's Jim coming. Fuck.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Oh man, if you ever do see Jim coming somewhere,
you do have to able to do that like recorder
for the show. At this point, we might see him
in LA That's true. That's true. That's true.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
I have to be the Saturday though, because that's the
only day I'm planning on going there.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
Like celebration, but why Saturday specifically.

Speaker 2 (25:01):
That's the day that's like popping the most. That's the
day that people that's yeah, Fridays. Friday is like day one.
Everyone's kind of like it's a hassle and bustle. Everyone's
trying to work out everything. Blah blah blah blah. Sunday.
I never go this Sunday because it's the old, boring
there or anything to do. Saturday is the day where
it's like everyone's there.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
I guess I've only been to one celebration. I'm not
a con guys, how I would know. I'll probably go
more than you will. I'll probably go Friday and Saturday.
But even me, unless there's like a specific panel I
want to end on Sunday, then I probably won't go.
To be honest, on Sunday last celebration, I might because
I think the animated one, I think there was a
animated panel it was on Sunday they would want to
go to, but I don't know about they.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
They've played the Siege of mandalor the last three years
running on the Sunday, so that's become like the big thing,
like putting playing the Siege of mandalor on the big
strength in the panels, and I'm just like, bro, what's
that home?

Speaker 1 (25:58):
Yeah, fair, you can watch that.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
I can watch that hotel.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
Right, that's fair, that's fair. But I know you go
to the cons every year though, so it's definitely old
hat for you. More specifically, that's why I probably do
a little more of the God because you just experience.
But you know, we'll lot to see what happens. All right.
I think that's enough news. We'll talk now about the
trailer real quickly. Obviously, the trailer and the poster, by
the way, the poster Mandlar and Gurger poster. I loved

(26:25):
that poster.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
It was so like spaghetti Western.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
What to say? You know who else would love that poster.
George Lucas would love that poster, and you.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
Know who else probably would have loved that would probably
love that post if he likes Star Wars, Quentin Tarantina.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
Quentin Tarantina Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
That's a very that is a very Tarantino like poster.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
That's awesome. It's kind of ember like feeling like, oh
my god, Gurger's on the poster. Three timess like this complent,
like dude, who cares? That's like what they used to do.
That's just how they used to do things exactly.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
Why well, I love as well. I was like the
and I was talking to my friend Mike about this.
The titles in the middle right, a lot of like
the new Hollywood posts. You'll have like the cost and
like the characters and everything. The name will be like
right down to the bat right, so you're just like, oh,
who are those? Oh star Wars? Like it's white smack

(27:14):
dab in the middle. The Mandalorian ain't groat what looks cool?

Speaker 1 (27:19):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
I still hate the title.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
I've always hated the title.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
Actually, to be honest with you, I almost think it
would be even better, slightly better if they just switched
it around.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
It grew grew in.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
The Mandalorian actually sounds even a little better, a lot
of different story entirely. You gotta have the BNDO in
the title this. But let's get into the end of
the trailer itself. It was a I mean, it was
labeled a trailer, but real honesty, it was more a
teaser than anything else. It was a ninety second teaser. Well,

(27:49):
I mean, I just I think it's important only because
like people in this day and age, with the way
that teasers and trailers work, like it's the way the
first thing that you do is a teaser, and that
doesn't get give you much story wise. It just kind
of gives you a few images, a few quick croats,
like it gets the characters in there, and I don't
tell you much. And that's what That's exactly what this

(28:10):
teaser does. Well. The trailer is that one that usually
just goes okay, this is a little bit more what
the story is, and people like, there's a lot of
people like this trailer was hit or missed for some people.
And I get a little bit, but I think mostly
it's because people are just being extremely harsh on it,
because like I'm like looking at the expected like, you know,
everything wow me.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
It didn't okay. I was like, but here's the thing.
Doesn't have to wow you every time.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
I agree to me. I mean, I understand that we
want to hype it up because you want to get
hyped because it's the first Star Wars thing. Back in
the theaters. Star Wars had some issues here and there.
Although we areas should be on a high, right Nolagy
after Indoor, which won all the Emmys and did really well,
and it had been this like big success. This should
be a big thing. However, I think that we got
to keep in mind it is a ninety second teaser.

(28:57):
All it's basically supposed to do is here's a Mandolorian,
here's a crow grow, here's a few characters, here's a
few beats. Here's that rousing score, which I gotta be hearing.
A score again hit me a lot harder than I
thought it would, Like, I was like, oh, I kind
of missed this. I kind of missed this, this score
it never because I haven't heard I hadn't listened to

(29:17):
it a while. I was like, nice, I don't think
it did exactly what I need to do. Like here
it is, and now we'll get more later on. Maybe
I certainly need more, but it'd be nice to hype
up everybody else a little bit more. So tell me
what you thought?

Speaker 2 (29:32):
You didn't? Wow?

Speaker 1 (29:33):
You? What did?

Speaker 2 (29:33):
What did you?

Speaker 1 (29:34):
What did you think about her?

Speaker 2 (29:36):
It was like cool, the band's getting back together.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Mm hmmm.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
Yeah, like when we we've known and again this is
the curse of being. It's what the fans quite, the
curse of knowledge. All right, yeah, we we know what
the play is. They're going to be like going to
rescue the hut the time on Yeah, like Rada, yeah, Rada,

(30:03):
and like yeah, we already know what the story is
going to be. Okay, yeah, it's like cool. I mean
it looks bad ass. The action looks cool. The action
looks a lot more I don't want to say agree,
but you know, getting push kicked into a bar window

(30:26):
like that looks like it sucking hurt. So there's also
a part of me that's like, I know, Pedro only
probably showed up for about three days that I'm just
kind of that I'm just like, eh, not not okay,

(30:47):
not there, but like when it's closer, it's kind of
like when you're setting up a date with someone and
you're like, Okay, we're gonna meet in two weeks time.
You're like cool, and then it gets close to the time,
you start getting the bar flies, you start getting like though,
oh whoa, this is this is gonna be happening, what's

(31:09):
gonna happen? I'm still so far off that I'm just
kind of like, cool, man, I already knew the movie
was coming, right, I get that, I will say, And
Zealens that got me, that's true.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
I like the en Zellens.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Are we going to see you? Like? Because Grogan and
the end Zellens are like it's like that's scene in
Ocean's eleven where they where they're going in the sewer
is to set up the blip. Oh.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
I think we're definitely saying at Heigh School. I think
one of the things there is the end there towards
the middle of it was them in a hot vault
of some kind. They're they're when they're facing the big
big droid or robot kind of monster things kind of things,
So it looks like they look like they were in
front of a hot vault, a hard cartel vault. So
it looks like because I had the seal of the
hot plan on that Jabba's seal or whatever says, so
I bet he supposed to be seeing something at that point.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
So I agree.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
I think that it's definitely gonna a heist aspect to it,
which is good for me. I like the angel and
involved and that that makes sense to me have them with.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
With good shot Baby, I played like three times funny.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
People thought that was like I thought that was like
Grogu talking that Grog's words. I'm like, nuts, that was
that was that, I know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
I was like the way he said it as well,
it was like he was saying.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
I love that. I did love that. I also one
thing got me hyped. That did even though got it
for a second when you know who's in there. But
I like seeing zeb cracking some buckets.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
Yeah, that was cool.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
I like seeing him in action in live We knew
he was gonna be in there, but it's the first
time we're getting like action of him in live action. Really,
so I se I'm not sure exactly what role he's
playing as far it I mean, gross, but like part
of the heightst is Ze there to help them. We
don't know as it is, but I.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
Reckon he's probably gonna be like the guy that Sigourney
sends to keep Mando in check. Mmm, like the walker
m hm in This Impossible Fallout, only not a bad
guy or not a bad guy like Sigourney is going
to send him to be like hey, keep him in line.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
No no, not not the second best bad guy in
the franchise.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Which is a fact now we have confirmed it.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
Sorry, sorry, Jarvis, we love it.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
I like seeing Sigourney Weaver was nice to see her
obviously get to know that she's in general according to
her blacker, that she's a general in the New Public
as long as I.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
Means she does need to slow down with the this
is going to be way better than and Or stuff
like she Sigourney slow down, like don't don't set yourself
up for that kind.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
Of like backlash. Yeah, I mean she has been very
well right, it's true, even if they say something about
that real quick. I hate the fact that both sides
are kind of using each other against each other. Like
I love and Or, and it is probably one of

(34:13):
the best written Star Wars things I've seen. It was dark,
and it was it was impressive and storytelling was very
adult and I loved it. But not I will say
it's a Star Wars outlier and that it's not whatever
Star Wars should be. So I love going from Andor
too more of a fun up, swaggering adventure kind of thing,

(34:35):
which is.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
What this is.

Speaker 1 (34:36):
And that's not a bad thing at all. Like I
wouldn't want.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
I have such a respect for Sigourney weba to be like,
I don't want her getting pulled into this mmmm. I
don't want her getting pulled into the this the online
about right better because we know how toxics are. Is
you just you know, I incredly put like like don't.

(35:06):
Don't don't that you're going down the road that you
don't want to go down.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
I think the one thing, she's actually tough enough to
handle it, so I'm okay with it. Like, but yeah,
you're right, she should probably let's back off here. But
I think it's gonna be. I honestly think I'll probably
end up being more Star Wars than and Or was.
And that's not that's not a knock on Indoor at all.
It just feels like this, that's that's more Star Wars
and and.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
Tony Gilory before you take that out of the compliment, you're.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
Not wrong, absolutely, and I think I love that and
Or exists, give me both. I would love to see
more indoor stuff. I would love see another adult, pretty
dark series, especially when they Tony gir I mentioned like
the maybe the Nazi Hunters post episode six show.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
No, I didn't you didn't get any, Okay, I've got three,
so I'll have to send you one. Oh nice, Yeah,
I got one of the the y was it? What's
the name of the I can't remember the name of
the store, but there's a store in Burbank and Star
Wars more hit me up and told me like all

(36:10):
the locations, because she had a whole like a stack
of them on her It was like on one of
our Instagram stories, had like a stack on her car seat,
and I was like, where the hell did you get those?
They sent me the list and I was just like, wait,
I braved, like, I don't know what it is in fahrenheit,
but fifty six degree celsius boiling hot with my ivory.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
Complexion a nice way to put it, right, ghost like complexion,
metal like complexion.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
Basically it's just English. It's British English complexion. You know.
I love it.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
As they were. It looks good on you, man, looks good.
I mean, I'm not going to talk. I'm not exactly
a bastion of color myself. You know.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
I thought the Italian part of you would be uh.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
You would think so right, you would think so no,
But I don't like the sun, and like I work
at night, so I don't go out in the day.
And it's all that's what it is. But all right.
Also the trailer, let's see, I did like the ad
apt sequence looks kind of cool. I think the effects
aren't quite doumb but it's still look kind of a cool.
Shot and I like to see. I love that aspect.
The question I do have is the Razor cust appears

(37:32):
to be back, and of course somebody will lost their
mind about it. Well, that's why it feels like it's
it's a Razor Crest type I peeple losing their mind.
They're like they're losing their mind, Like, oh, they're ignoring that.
I'm like, they're not ignoring anything, because, like, you don't
know what's going on yet, you've seen ninety seconds of
the film, Like if that, I'm sure there's an explanation.

(37:53):
I'm sure there's a reason. I'm sure something going on
that he took a different ship. I'm sure it's not
the same ship, and I'm sure I'm not ignoring it.
But seen seeing him back in a Razor Crost type
ship just fine.

Speaker 2 (38:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:05):
But at the end of day, I'll say this, I'm
happy got released. I'm happy to see something for it.
I'm looking forward to a next trailer. I want to
see one more trailer before. I like seeing one more
trailer before getting to the into the theaters. And uh,
since I have Star Wars back on.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
The screen, just the one more it's one more trailer.
Don't give us gets three more, don't give us five more.
Don't get we're getting two more.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
We're getting to more. We're gonna get a thirty TV spots,
but I just want to win more.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
I hate the TV spots.

Speaker 1 (38:36):
I don't actually I will, even as a news even
as a Star Wars news podcaster or I will not
watch the TV spots just for bright nows. I will
watch all the trailers and I will report back. You're
in the whole thing all the time. That's what the
TV spots usually are the worst. I had to say.
I think they're the ones that are the worst. Usually.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
The only TV spots they should ever be on a
show is that next week on dead Day. I agree.
I like that. I like that, like the old the
old school shows like that. We would grow up on that,
like you would get you would get the episode and
then you would get like two minutes next week on

(39:14):
Why Fraser or blah blah blah, right, which I've been
rewatching Frasier recently. I don't know why, why not?

Speaker 1 (39:21):
Why not?

Speaker 2 (39:22):
I've never actually watched Cheers like I watched Fraser before,
like I've even watched Cheers.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
Really, that's an interesting advantage point. Hm.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
I think after I've done my full Fraser rewatch, I'm
gonna like go about how many seasons and cheers were there.

Speaker 1 (39:38):
I gotta say there's probably at least nine. I'm gonna guess.
Oh my god, I'm gonna guess. I don't. I don't
remember off time I have that that sounds like on
the I'm gonna curious, this is murdering television. I'm sure. Oh,
I'm sorry. There is eleven seasons of cheers.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
Awesome.

Speaker 1 (40:02):
Good luck to my friend. Good luck to you, my friend.
You've already committed to it now that you can't get
not can't back out now.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
Uh. I think it's because, like, like I come home
from what like quite early, so it's like honest like
one of the first things daytime visions. So I'm just like, oh,
put this on and I'll go to sleep.

Speaker 3 (40:20):
It's a good.

Speaker 1 (40:21):
Those comedy kind of things are very nice to do
that too, kind of like it's their easy watches. You
don't have to like, you know lower that's coming on there.
I do the all the time with scrubs. I do
that with Oh, I do a big bang theory scrubs
that with Ted.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
Everybody Raymond is another good one. Everybody loves Raymond. That's
another good one.

Speaker 1 (40:41):
The other ones I've done that with recently, but Shrinking
I did that again with I Love That care for
that one to come out. Harrison he was rubbed, Absolutely
was rubbed. That was like the one Emmy I kind
of cared about, like, I'm happy Star Wars one. What
it's I'm glad, I'm so player. The Andor one won

(41:01):
for the writing.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
Wait, Harrison Ford lost to Star Wars.

Speaker 1 (41:05):
No no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no no no,
I'm saying that was the end. I said, Shrinking Was it?
The Harrison Ford Emmy was the only Emmy I really
cared about, Like if Star Wars hadn't won anything, I've
been like, I didn't expected to win anything. I was
happy that Andor won the writing one because it was
for Welcome Rebellion. It was something I hadn't seen before.
Somebody somewhere I can't remember the guy's name. I've heard

(41:26):
good things.

Speaker 2 (41:27):
Was it for Adolescence?

Speaker 1 (41:30):
No, no, no, it wasn't that, because it was this
somebody somewhere or something like that was the name of
the show. Was Jo I hadn't even actually heard of
I heard of nobody. It's a good performance, but I'm
kind of like, yeah, I don't care if it's good performance.
Harrison Ford and he deserves a show. No, he's only
has he ever won any or not big, not asked not.
I don't believe it's from no, because this was his
first Emmy nomination.

Speaker 2 (41:51):
He's he's never won an Oscar.

Speaker 1 (41:53):
He's had one Academy Award nomination for Witness, but they
didn't win it.

Speaker 2 (41:56):
Damn that motherfucker's so punk.

Speaker 1 (41:59):
Yeah, absolutely, so.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
I hope he never win one. I hope he was
down as like the greatest act that they never win
an Auscar.

Speaker 1 (42:06):
So you can just be that. Well, I'm sorry Harrison
started gotten that final fight.

Speaker 2 (42:12):
HER's one one.

Speaker 1 (42:14):
He's had four nominations, what nominated for Powell thirteen and
lost Kevin Spacey. He got nominated for show.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
They Should Retroact because of all the stuff with Kevin Spacey.
I feel like Kevin space is probably.

Speaker 1 (42:29):
Like absolutely, he got nominated for Truman Show and lost
to Christopher Plumber for adaptation. I think it was and
it was like one of those kind of like career
awards that never should have won. He got nominated for
Pollock and he lost to Russell Crowe Gladiator or cut Gladiator.

Speaker 2 (42:48):
Kind of got to give him that.

Speaker 1 (42:50):
I don't know. I think a she Pollack was actually
a better performance, even good. I like Ladider. It was great,
but I think the poet performance is harder. I think,
but that's okay. And then he got nominated for the
I remember who he faced. He faced in two thousand
and three the Virginia Wolf movie something movies, but he played.

(43:10):
He played the AIDS guy. He I can't remember who
he lost to on that one. I'm curious.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
It's between Harrison ford And and Harris for the greatest
actor to never win.

Speaker 1 (43:25):
Uh, yeah, you're right, it absolutely is. But I'm just
kind of surprised that it was. The movie he was in,
was The Hours. That's what I remember. I remember what
he what won that year. It's good one. If he's
only in a small bit. It's him and Meryl Street
back together. So anyway, but moving on to one, at
this point, we're kind of going way off target here,

(43:46):
uh say, on targeting, Although getting at Harrison Star Wars
before he goes would be awesome for me, So let's
does make that happen. I don't care what the show
or the movie get it done. But anyway, I like
I like the movie, like the trailer. I think we'll
go to the trailer once more. Hopefully it is a
fun big return this fore, so all right, before we

(44:06):
wrap things up, let's talk Rebuild the Galaxy. I keep
going to say restore the Galaxy, and it's rebuilt because
it is Legos. After all, this is an ongoing series.
I don't know if we're gonna get more or not.
I don't know how these things get viewed. We got
this one after the last one, so maybe if it
gets the same kind of view we'll get more. People

(44:27):
were initial thoughts.

Speaker 2 (44:30):
Uh, I thought it was fun. I like these I
like the Lego stuff, like Lego Batman movie that the
Star Wars Rebuilt the Galaxy like. It's fun. Is it
incredible like cinema?

Speaker 1 (44:48):
No, but.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
It's fun.

Speaker 1 (44:53):
It's hard to review. It is hard to review because
there's not a whole lot to say it. But I
will say what it does best is it it's they
put themselves in a great place by shaking up a
galaxy that they can play with tropes even more than
they could with a straight story because they can do
the whole like I've loved the whole bit of the
of the good guys and bad guys kind of switching aside,

(45:14):
get the the Darth Vader and White getting the like Palpatine,
the Jedie seeing the Trait Darth Mal Darth char Jar.

Speaker 2 (45:24):
Which Sam Whitwe actually has a band and he is
actually a really good thing. I have the album on vinyl.
He's actually, yeah, he's a really good singer.

Speaker 1 (45:36):
I did not know that I which I actually was
wondering that that was him singing it. It was, yeah,
it made sense. It did sound like him, so I
wasn't like, you shock, that's you know, I don't actually
want to hear it parts. By the way, if I
had to like pick favorite parts, him singing duel Fates
was just great. What was the actual line of He's like,
I grew right down somewhere. What is that the god?

(46:00):
Remember what I wrote.

Speaker 2 (46:03):
Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous.

Speaker 1 (46:05):
Or something fbous ain't something that was something like that.
It was pretty funny. That was actually my funniest the
funniest thing that happened, the entire thing I got I'm
all really being frozen. I thought that was the one.
I actually laughed out loud and wanted to like pause
that or rewinded that back again. Oh oh so fabulous,
Oh so fabulous, Oh fab fabulous. I was.

Speaker 2 (46:28):
I love that they they do not take themselves seriously
at all. They bringing Reven into it and Reven not
saying a word, because obviously in Nazi or Republic, you
can be a male, male character, be a female character.

(46:50):
I think it was Alex DayMen who said that he
would have thought everything funny if like you had a
prompt or like to come up, like a speech prompt
of like what Reven was going to say, and then
just like it select that line, and like you don't
actually get a voice, you just see like a subtitle
come up. I thought that. I thought that would have

(47:10):
been a really really great idea.

Speaker 1 (47:14):
Jackson talking, having him not talking though, it was a
good idea. I was like, there's it's a fun idea
because technically in Cannon, we don't know what he is.
I mean, in the Legends Cannon, he was like technically
officially made a male because he was in the story
as a male. But whatever, Like, but as far as
this Star Wars, this is the first time for seeing
him in Star Wars canon per se, and we don't
know what it is. He could be. It could be

(47:35):
a guy, it could be a girl. We don't know,
so we're still open to you imagine at this point.
I think that.

Speaker 2 (47:42):
I loved that. And another like little trolling thing was
the use of Jackson.

Speaker 1 (47:48):
Bench Swartz voicing perfect, perfect voice for that for that character.

Speaker 2 (47:52):
I feel I didn't know if it for sure that
was Benchwarts because I was like, is that no? But
then I love I love, I fucking love the line
of like you probably haven't heard of me because I'm
a real deep cut Yeah nice. I love that, Like

(48:14):
when when he holds up the blossoming he was like
you ever hear about the story of the charrot and
the stick and he pulls out the blosh, I'm all
about the stick. That was good.

Speaker 1 (48:23):
That's good. I like right away to hopping the scroll,
hopping it right in the beginning, and Servo being like
posting his voice all over the pro I loved that bit.
It was definitely Taiko. Why t the influence? I kind
of felt like that at all at all.

Speaker 2 (48:38):
I thought that too. That was very ticher.

Speaker 1 (48:43):
I mean, it wasn't him voicing it, but it basically
was in that vibe of what he would do. I'm
kind surprised I didn't try to get him because he's
in the Sward universe. Obviously he's done the I G
voice before. He directed a few episodes, supposedly still doing
the Star Word movie at some point Cervo alarm clocks,
whatever is I need that alarm clock? Really? Wis really

(49:06):
did that?

Speaker 2 (49:08):
I love I love Some of the lines that were
like that wouldn't come back to haunt us in any way.

Speaker 1 (49:15):
There was kind of like our our intro our entryway
into the into the show, We're I love seeing everything
was saying what we would say pretty much. I love
that love Landlor.

Speaker 2 (49:25):
Yes, I was just about to bring out and especially like,
I mean, his name is baby Yell a party with
a missile crazy? Was that doing the doing the voice?

Speaker 1 (49:39):
Absolutely? I feel like they do a great job of
like getting the original voice of virginal actors, unless it's
somebody like hugely I mean, hair supporters didn't come back
to you, Han, so obviously I think there's a few
like you and Gregor didn't do what we wanted was
James jonld Taylor, but that's that's that's but everybody else
A lot of them came back, like Lando came back,
are bleeding Wlliams came back out on two. Dick obviously

(50:01):
came back and did Kate to us So and obviously
Ahsoka Wells which there Dawson but's actually actually which makes sense.
I think Donal Monaghan did cal Cases. I believe it did.
You're not Dominic Monaghan. I'm sorry Cameron and Donal. My
hand's the hobbit. Also, Uh, Cahan is like right a

(50:26):
scalar to.

Speaker 2 (50:28):
Camra mon has like six foot two, has like four.

Speaker 1 (50:35):
You really hobbit?

Speaker 2 (50:36):
Dam it?

Speaker 1 (50:37):
Uh we're married though he's very merried. Uh like I
did that?

Speaker 2 (50:42):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (50:42):
Love of the fact they got Dan Stevens and he
Solatis voice. I love Dan Stevens. He's one of my
favorite actors.

Speaker 2 (50:47):
I got to talk about this character, Solitis do it
do it up? Someone on that. Ryan Cass is a
Metal gayt Solid fan.

Speaker 3 (50:55):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (50:56):
There is a character in Metal Gas Solid two who
first gets introduced as President George Sears. Okay, Layer turns
out to be Solidus Snake, the third brother of Liquid
and Solid, and he picks the two brothers against each
other to acquire more power. Oh wow, so this guy

(51:19):
solid solid dust Solidus is pitching brother versus brother against
each other so he can gain the more power. I
was like, I know what you're fucking doing.

Speaker 1 (51:32):
I wouldn't have done that.

Speaker 2 (51:33):
I'm bressed because when I first heard the name, I
was like Solidus No, like surely you're not. But then
it was Soliditus with the team instead of a b Yeah.
That that was that. I'm all of these. If I'd
have been on that big round table interview with the
makers of this show, that would have been my question,

(51:57):
like which one of you is?

Speaker 1 (51:59):
Which one of your mother feel yourself?

Speaker 2 (52:04):
One thing I really really did like was I didn't
I liked it, but it also kind of ripped me
a shred seeing Padme with Luke and Leer, the Skywalker
group hug, Skywalker group Hug. And then there was the
line that really pulled at my heart, which was lay

(52:25):
you remind me of me?

Speaker 1 (52:26):
Yeah, Oh, it's a bit funny, like this is a
should pull your heartstrinks too much, But there are time
where it's like, yeah, it is great.

Speaker 2 (52:37):
It is like SIGs like big speech to get everyone
together as well there's a really hot moments in this,
but that one was like, that moment really got me.

Speaker 1 (52:47):
That was the moment. I love Stig too, So it's
a great character. I think it's a fun addition to
the Star Wars lower even though I know just not Cannon.
I know, I get that it's funny because I'm watching
watching The Stranger Things, my son actually showing season three now.
So Galen madeas as dustin voices Siggy, and I love

(53:08):
hearing his voice again. I think it's a fun actor.
I think he deserves more. I think he's actually a
pretty damn good actor, and I will hope you get
to see him in other things as well. I'm glad
he got him. And of course Pointer of a Louri
also the great actor to play the brother. I said,
his brother. So they have a great chemistry dead there,
you have great chemistry there together. I love saying that
as well.

Speaker 2 (53:27):
Did he have the Winter Soldier arm in the first scene?

Speaker 1 (53:31):
I thought he did. I kind of thought that too,
but I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (53:36):
I don't remember where he got it, but I was like,
I couldn't remember either, but he did like a mix
of Kyler Ren and the Winter Soldier it is a
little better than that.

Speaker 1 (53:43):
It is kind of.

Speaker 2 (53:47):
God two being shot out of the ship like a missile.
I like.

Speaker 1 (53:53):
I like what they do. They use the words, they
use quotes all the time, and it's like, but they
do it. It's one of the things where you if
you do a joke over the amount of time, it
becomes funny again, Like you can get to it one
where it's like, okay, you're you're you're saying the same thing.
We get it, I know what you mean there. But
they do it so much they reinverted and re subvert
it that like it makes it work again. It is

(54:15):
very exactly the very exactly they gave him the finger.
I love the like when they Amanda told me, this
is the way that stuff and.

Speaker 2 (54:26):
That's the way, you know, it's splitting up of the
try spinning. Yes, that's a good trick, like between the
two brothers.

Speaker 1 (54:38):
I loved also the trolling they did all the fans.
And that's what this does every once in a while,
like because we talk of the Star Wars discourse sucks
sometimes and we really hate it everything else, But I
wish you'd go back to the days where like we
could kind of make fun of ourselves a little bit
and be happy about it. And then this is what
this does a while, the whole the whole big snoke
pit and they smoke. It does really nice. They're making

(55:04):
fun of us, So I love they're making fun of us,
because you get to make fun of yourselves. We do
take things so seriously. Sometimes you know it is a cigar,
is just a cigar, Like, but I love that bit.
I would make that me smile a lot.

Speaker 2 (55:16):
So Yeah, that I actually had that as my comedy
moment because I before like we talked about like what
we're actually how we're going to talk about this? I
had it all split up. That was actually make my
comedy moment for episode.

Speaker 1 (55:28):
Three nice, very nice. Yeah, I did not do it
our usual way. I apologize for that. I kind of
felt like this was I was watching it kind of
more of like the greatest I do have one beef
with this shot, go ahead, go right ahead, absolutely thro there.

Speaker 2 (55:44):
We got peg leg Doughty, hilarious. You're telling me you're
gonna give us all these pirates but not the one
we want. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (55:56):
I did have that beef too. We had a and
Or and a pirate Ammadala and.

Speaker 2 (56:00):
There's No, that wasn't Diego voicing Andel, was it.

Speaker 1 (56:05):
I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (56:05):
I don't think I don't even think that was a
Mexican but.

Speaker 1 (56:09):
I don't think so either. It was a little rough on,
a little yeah.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
When I had the voice, I was like, what are
you doing there? I'm gonna double check myself before I
say that.

Speaker 1 (56:24):
But and you if we're wrong, we're wrong. I get it.
But like, it definitely wasn't Digo. Definitely defederally not.

Speaker 2 (56:31):
It didn't sound like Diego.

Speaker 1 (56:40):
Oh are you looking for it?

Speaker 2 (56:41):
Uh suglus okay, So it was an Italian guy sounds Italian.

Speaker 1 (56:51):
Maybe definitely not Diego.

Speaker 2 (56:54):
You can say that, definitely not Diego.

Speaker 1 (56:57):
I love the sub thermal detonator.

Speaker 2 (57:00):
Words.

Speaker 1 (57:01):
It's like a little fun nose freeze bombing. I like that.

Speaker 2 (57:03):
I just like that.

Speaker 1 (57:05):
Uh Dianoba, I mean the worst thing that's happened to me.
I love that. That battle ball.

Speaker 2 (57:16):
Phil Lamar one of the greatest, not any people haven't
like met him at AMSCN, but like one of the
best voice actors ever.

Speaker 1 (57:27):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 2 (57:28):
Like him doing Darth Kit fist though right, Like it's
just it's just his voice, you know it When you
hear it.

Speaker 1 (57:38):
Yeah, And for said, I always loved how many like
Palpatine twisting attacks we got like every time he was
on screen, that sound effect.

Speaker 2 (57:53):
I love like light sid I love light side Palpatine.
I love light side Darth Vader like they continue the
bit of Legard to being stupid well, which I think
is great, like Lay marrying Gredo too.

Speaker 1 (58:13):
Yes, anymore after the first one, I gotta gota keep
you that way. Uh, last thing, I'll say, I loved
the bit of bb wing having a bb wing.

Speaker 2 (58:24):
Yeah, the bb A wing.

Speaker 1 (58:28):
Like that is dad is cinema right there, that their
part is cinema.

Speaker 2 (58:36):
Let's see if I got anything else want to.

Speaker 1 (58:39):
Throw in there while you're throwing pors were good. It
was a good combination. Yes, I did like that. I
also like dark Vegas, the long winded.

Speaker 2 (58:55):
Which is fun which we don't even know because we've
never heard him speak.

Speaker 1 (59:02):
That's what I love up to now, I guess, Oh.

Speaker 2 (59:04):
Dude, how the fuck can we leave this out? The
Kaiju battle between Oh yeah, Chewbaccah.

Speaker 1 (59:10):
Big Block Chewbacca was awesome.

Speaker 2 (59:13):
It was like a full on Kaiju bottle.

Speaker 1 (59:15):
It was That was great. That was so good.

Speaker 2 (59:19):
I wish that Alan tude it could have got more
to do.

Speaker 1 (59:23):
But I feel like they did undercut him a little bit.
They get a like it does feel like this could
have used like another episode or two. Maybe you really
kind of like spread it out a little bit and
give you more time on some of these things are
well potentially and they feel a little bit rushed, a
little rushed, but I mean it is what it is
kind of thing for this kind of show, and maybe
it's cheaper, probably cheaper to do this way. So I
kind of a quick four episode things seems what like
I guess it's kind of weird. But like between this

(59:45):
like Eyes of Akanda, Marvel Zombies and stuff like four
episode quick hit seems to be something that Disney is
like can get is I don't want his four episodes.
I'm pretty I'm nine nine percent sure. I actually haven't watched,
but that's why i've here heard or remember it's Marl Zombie.

Speaker 2 (01:00:01):
Same thing about though.

Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
I don't know what it does. I have not seen
anything about what it does. To be honest, I know
Ryan Googler having things involved in that Ryan Google involved
in some way, shape or form, but like I don't
really I think it's not. I think it's about I
don't think it's not Schalla. I don't think because they
only haven't recast Shallow yet.

Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
So okay, weren't on this, And then we'll get into
the announcement. Say they did a Star Wars zombie. Who
you have? You got three characters that you can put
a zombies.

Speaker 1 (01:00:34):
I don't want to see the zombie you want.

Speaker 2 (01:00:36):
To see as a zombie? Who are you picking? Chewbacca, dude,
zombie Chewie would be horses. Yeah, I can't.

Speaker 1 (01:00:49):
I can't tell her. I want to do Hondo as
a zombie or Hondo reacting to zombies. I almost think
I want to do Hondo reacting to zombies.

Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
Yeah, Hondo would be good for like the Shorn of
the Dead style.

Speaker 1 (01:01:00):
Right right, I got that part of it. I kind
of feel like him reacting would be funnier. He could
have funny moments with Hando react to zombies Howson and
zombie lad right exactly? That is the cool thing.

Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
So Chewy.

Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
Maybe Chabba he already walks slow as it is.

Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
Zombie.

Speaker 1 (01:01:23):
Then my third b Yeah, I almost wanted to say
mal but I feel like mall Worts already looks like
a zombie almost, so I feel like I don't don't
I'd want these a little different.

Speaker 2 (01:01:41):
But he's then he just never dies.

Speaker 1 (01:01:44):
That's true. Yeah, that's true. He just keeps going back.

Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
He's technically a zombie.

Speaker 1 (01:01:48):
That's true. That's true. We'll go with mon Mathma zombie. Oh,
there we go, man, the Jab of the Hut, Chewbacca.
Those are my zombies.

Speaker 2 (01:02:06):
I'm gonna go. Who would be terrifying if they came
back talking talking like zombie talking, just like rising up

(01:02:31):
from the the ashes of the Death stops time out.

Speaker 1 (01:02:34):
Oh, similarly the zombie thrown Yeah, zombie thrown freaking cool?

Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
Like the whole Okay, let's pitch this whole thing is
like the Night Sisters are like trying to take over
the galaxy and the like dead people, right a right,
all right, So I'm gonna go talking one. I'm gonna go, God,
who would like be fucking terror are flying?

Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
Oh while you're changing and I'm gonna change out Mathma.
I like mothing too much. I'm gonna keepers the lightsider,
don't know, And this is funny caause im actual gonna
put a light sider in there. Canaan oh heartbreaking, heartbreaking.

Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
You're giving me my second one, zombie you give me
You're just giving my second one.

Speaker 1 (01:03:21):
Cassian Cassian, Yeah, very similar.

Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Oh yeah, the one that they're like, I don't want
to have to kill you, right, And Dix is on
the good side. Yeah, Bix is the one that's Ezras
the kid like, yes, Dix and Cassian's kid has to
be the one to put Cassian down.

Speaker 1 (01:03:40):
Nathey probably Bix and Cassian's kids on the scene. Ezra
and Jason are there for for Canaan, I love it.
And Hondos just flying moll around.

Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
And do it all give me a zombie Rankle because
that fast.

Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
If Honda is on our good guy team, do we
have a zombie Contuni, do we have the zombie?

Speaker 2 (01:04:10):
I'm not but Belcher love it it, zombie quill.

Speaker 1 (01:04:22):
I love it? Okay, I think thinks by that time.

Speaker 2 (01:04:33):
Stuart, Sorry, We Peoty and I have been talking about
how we can expand on the show, what things we
can do different, How can we kind of diversify and
not just be a Star Wars podcast that just gives
the same talking points, talks about the same things here

(01:04:54):
and there. So I was like, how about we mixing
a little bit of class action. I started this off
with the Curse Hour video that I did, and then
I was like, Peertie, why don't we do one together,
the two of us, with a movie that you have seen,
because it's been a forever since you watched curs Out,

(01:05:15):
So I wasn't gonna put you in on that. So
we are starting Holy Snokes, the Hyperion Collection, which is
going to be myself Pod if he's available. Sometimes I
may pull in PJ Campbell, I may pull in some guests.
We're going to talk about movies that have either influenced

(01:05:37):
Star Wars have like Star Wars has had an influence
on so maybe, like I don't know, one day we
talk about tresh Planet. I'd love to do an episode.
We already did a class action with PJA, but I
would love to do like a full, like in depth
episode on that. We can talk about doom like the

(01:05:57):
sixty eight Dude. We've talked about the New Dunes, we
talked about Fortress, we talk about and we talk about
American graffiti. If we're going back to like early George stuff.
So in the first film we're gonna do in I
guess a month's time. Following on from the success of

(01:06:17):
and Or, we are going to do Michael Clayton, Brinnie
gail Roy's cult classic. I would say it's a cult classic.

Speaker 1 (01:06:25):
Morel classic, but at least the cult classic. It's definitely
well received. It's it's after Tony gil Roy's Gilroy's most
notable work. I mean you can say that and.

Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
Or what was up more than Born?

Speaker 1 (01:06:38):
Well, but he directed it like he that's his like
is all the way. I mean he he definitely was
involved in the Born franchise, but this was like his
big work as far as like Solo Andrew might have
approach at that point, but I don't know. Something in
the Star Wars bubble, so for me it's end Or.
But I know Or has made it wage as well,
but definitely outside of that, Michael Clayton was a big,

(01:06:59):
big success for it. So I agree that one thing
is a good one to do.

Speaker 2 (01:07:02):
I rewatched the do I look like I'm negotiating scene,
So good, cleaning man like that era of George Clooney was.

Speaker 1 (01:07:12):
Unstoppable, unstoppable, so good, so good. So yeah, I think
that's a good thing to do. We have a couple
of things coming up on the podcast as well. Obviously,
I'm still doing news here and there as I do it.
We'ren't trying to be every other week. If things happen,
we put like this, we're supposed to be last week.
But that's because I was dumb and I read about
Rebuild the Galaxy coming out on the thirteenth, and there

(01:07:32):
was actually that was like the first one from twenty
twenty four, so I just had the wrong date. So
I pushed back a week to do that. But I'll
come and do another news episode at some point, and
I also do a lot of these thematic things. One
of the things we talked about I'll throw out there too.
We'll throw it out there. We're in an episode on
the Great Hondo and Knock because how have we not
done that yet?

Speaker 2 (01:07:49):
Yeah, we haven't done that, but now like now, we
got time to do stuff like this.

Speaker 1 (01:07:54):
I like that absolutely. We just all the reviews coming
up as well. The Visions is coming out soon in October,
so I'll have to do an episode on Visions, and
we might do I might do more than one episode
on Visions, depending on you might break it up into
like half the.

Speaker 2 (01:08:10):
As well. We didn't do that.

Speaker 1 (01:08:11):
We never did the ILM stuff. I could do that
as well at some point. Got a lot of stuff
we're going to do here and there. I'll try to
throw in some news as much as I can when
big news happens and we go friend there as well.
But yeah, I think it's a lot of stuff to come.
I think we're definitely going to try to make our
our name for ourselves in a different, different fashion than
the other than other Star Wars podcast because it's a
million if I'm out there, So why do you choose
us unless you just like us? And that's cool too.

(01:08:32):
Just like us and hear it like to hear us picker,
and that's what we're here for. But we're gonna try
to give you stuff that maybe you don't find everywhere else.
I'm gonna give you a little bit of that too,
because we're not talking to news. I wanted to talk
reviews of when shows come out.

Speaker 2 (01:08:45):
We got it. We got to get you in somehow.

Speaker 1 (01:08:48):
Absolutely fair enough? All right, man? Where can the votes
find you?

Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
You find me on all social media at Matthew Mourna.
You can find my band Mourna on all social media platforms. Uh,
just collaboration with my friend fingers f who's under F
one basically just replaced the I and the E with
A one and a three. Just release our collaboration with him,
which went down really actually really great. So thank you

(01:09:14):
everyone who's checked that out. That's now available everywhere. Was
just on band camp for a little bit, but it's
now on all stream platforms. To check that out. And yeah,
that's about it.

Speaker 1 (01:09:24):
All right, sounds you can find me all over this
podcast as you can see this channel, I should say,
uh PJ Camblin and I are still doing two million
gigs on film and got a lot of stuff going
on there. Our main channel is doing our main episodes,
which are every other week on the main channel.

Speaker 2 (01:09:40):
Right now.

Speaker 1 (01:09:41):
We're in the Ghostbusters, Slash Men and Black crossovers season
that we are doing. We just did Men in Black
two past Tuesday on the Patreon patroon dot com slash
pod products. We are doing our entire MCU run. I
just rewatched Camptain America Civil War. That's our next episode
is gonna air next week. Yeah, yes, absolutely, absolutely so

(01:10:02):
joining the Patreon. He got a bunch of MC stuff
that we rewatched that will come in the main channel eventually.
If you can't afford the Patreon I completely understand that,
but you can help us out otherwise, like subscribe, comment
all that good stuff. Town memberships now right, Channel memberships
as well. Absolutely the same, the same deal there. Also,
you also got review I did with Lego. We just
did our big finished V reviews. That just came out

(01:10:24):
yesterday was our second review of the second big finished project.
We're ass gonna be doing some rev with decent type stuff,
similar to the Hyperion project for Star Wars. We do
that with review and the next things we're doing are
actually adjacent. We're gonna do Watchers one and Watchers two
because interestingly enough, those two films v connections. The first
one stars Michael Larnside who played Ham Tyler and the

(01:10:45):
via The Final Battle, and Watchers two, unrelated stars Mark
Singer and Think McDonald at the DAS. So it was
kind of like gonna be back to back connection there
watching the one two. That's our next thing we're doing there.
Crown Jewles will hopefully be coming back soon. I did
a couple of weeks of hiatus of that try and
it just fits scheduling in. It's been tough on the
Infamous and Devisive Hot Space album, so we'll get back
to that soon and uh yeah, that'll do it, and

we will see you next time. Here on all these notes,
i'm not sure exactly what the next episode is gonna be.
We'll talk about that and figure out the schedule soon
and then we'll let you know. But until then, as always,
may the Force be with you always,

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
