Big Little Truths

In the series premiere episode, we meet our disrupters for the first time as they guide us through the challenges faced by individuals with Intellectual and developmental disabilites when it comes to finding 'home' and we get a history lesson about the disturbing legacy of Institutions as a housing solution. We also hear from some early pioneers/mothers who refused to accept what was out there in terms of future living arrangements for their loved ones and decided to build something different. We eavesdrop on some conversations among residents experiencing life at First Place -Phoenix and Main Street Connect, Rockville Maryland. And we hear some fighting talk from those bucking the system right now, as they literally break ground on communities that will make a difference, near Denver, Colorado.
