(01:17):
we want to jump in in afew moments. But before we begin,
I want to open us up witha word of prayer. Father, we
thank you of God again for anotherreason of God to praise you. Another
episode to take the message of theCross to the world. Another episode to
(01:42):
help others to come into their truepurpose and help them to know that You
are our healer. You are theone who causes us to overcome. You
are the one who shows us ourpurpose, and you are the one who
can transform my mind and we maintainan eternal perspective. Father, we thank
you and We give glory for whatyou have given me to share on this
(02:05):

man, a man and a man. So again, good morning, good
evening, and good afternoon wherever youare in the world. Welcome back again
to a new season of Hope inChrist with the NISE. I'm excited.
I thank you again for those whohave consistently followed Hope in Christ with the

NIS podcast. It is truly ablessing to have those who have followed me
and remember again at Hope in Christ. At Hope in Christ, we focus
on helping you to walk in spiritualhealth, overcome obstacles, find and welcome
your God given purpose, and shiftyour mindset into an eternal perspective. So
(02:55):
for this second episode of the year, I want to highlight the O and
the P of the ministry's acronym onceagain. They stand for overcoming and purpose.
We will focus on these as wecontinue with the focused method that God
has given me to start the year, so that we all can be on
(03:19):
the same page and we all canmove in what God has given us to
do. So the next two lettersin focus are to be consistent and have
some uninterrupted time so we can movein purpose. So consistency and uninterrupted time,
Remember, the first one was tofix our eyes on Jesus and obey
(03:42):
his instruction. So the f wasfixing our eyes on Jesus. And you
can go back and listen to thefirst episode and obey his instructions. Why
so we don't overdo it and wedon't over commit this year as he is
calling us into purpose. And sothis episode we're gonna talk about consistency.
(04:03):
How can we be consistent? Howcan we maintain consistency and set aside in
uninterrupted time for Christ and Christ aloneto move in the purpose that He's given
us. So you may be asking, what do those two things have to
do with overcoming and my purpose?Well, I'm glad you asked. They
(04:26):
have everything to do with both ofthose with overcoming and moving in my purpose.
You see, you can't be consistentand set aside on interrupted time if
you are running from the thing orthings you need to overcome. Let me
say that one more time. You, me, or anyone else cannot be
(04:51):
consistent and set aside on interrupted timeto move in purpose. If we are
running from the thing or things weneed to overcome this then hinders us knowing
and walking in our purpose, andso we can't be consistent and set aside
(05:14):
that time because we may be runningor fearful of things that are in our
past. That is holding us hostage. So we cannot move in purpose.
And we're going to talk about thattoday. So again we want to talk
about we want to focus on beingconsistent and setting aside uninterrupted time, not
(05:40):
just being consistent in just anything everyday. Sometimes we're consistent with being on
social media every single day, mindlesslystrolling social media over and over and over
and over. Sometimes we're doing thatevery day and we're being consistent with it.
But that's not the consistency I wantto talk about out for us today.
I want to talk about the consistencywe need in order to move in
(06:04):
the purpose of God. To movein the purpose of God, it is
time to run in Christ and dowhat He's given us to do. Amen.
So let's begin with consistency. Manytimes we are unable to be consistent.
(06:27):
So why is that we are unableto be consistent many times because there
are things we haven't overcome from ourpast. These things cause us to have
and walk in rejection, abandonment andnot overcoming negative words that people may have
spoken to us, and then wehave received or it has reduced our self
(06:55):
worth. So I'm going to saythat again, these things from our past
that we haven't overcome has caused usto walk in rejection, abandonment and not
overcoming or not moving past the negativewords, the negative words that have been
(07:15):
spoken against us or spoken to us, and we took those words in,
We received those words into our spiritand it caused us to reduce or it
reduced our self worth. And sowe need spiritual cleansing and we go back
to the healing or the spiritual healingfor hope in Christ. So we need
(07:40):
spiritual cleansing and healing in order tomove past that. Why so we can
be consistent and we can set asidethat time and we won't run from it
anymore because God has helped us dealwith the struggles that we have held on
to for so so long. Andma'am, so this is why we make
(08:01):
excuses. This is why we strugglewith doubt, This is why we struggle
with perfectionism, which is actually rootedin rejection. This is why we struggle
with jealousy, And I'm going totalk about this because I can tell you
these things because I walked through thesethings. Amen. So, and this
(08:26):
is why the last one is westruggle with control, staying and we want
to maintain control because I have tokeep the control of it so that I
don't have to move forward because Ihave fears and I have anxiety, and
I don't want to feel as ifsomeone is going to reject me and if
(08:48):
I put myself out there. Amen. So, we want to talk about
how we can get over these things, overcome these things so that we can
move in consistency, so that wecan set aside this time that God needs
us to set aside so we canmove in our purpose. Amen. So
Again, that is why the abandonment, the rejection, the worst, the
(09:13):
ill words that are spoken to usthat reduced our self worth, those things
are the reason why we have fearsand anxiety. Fears and anxiety, and
those fears and anxieties cause us tomake excuses when God is speaking to us
about our purpose, cause us tostruggle with doubt. No, maybe God
(09:37):
didn't tell me that. Maybe No, Lord, there's a lot of people
doing that. So why do youneed me to do it cause us to
struggle with perfectionism. Now you maybe thinking perfectionism is nothing bad, but
it actually is. Perfectionism means Iwill come up with any excuse every few
(09:58):
minutes. No it's not right,Nope, the line is not straight,
Nope. We can't do it yetbecause it's not perfect. But what is
really happening to us when we dothat. It's rooted in rejection. We're
delaying it, and we're delaying it. We're delaying it over and over.
Why because we don't want to putit out there, because of we're fearing,
(10:20):
and we have some anxieties, becauseour self work has been reduced by
the words of others in our past, and so we struggle with perfectionism.
It's a sign of again, it'sa sign of rejection. We're delaying it
(10:41):
because we don't want to release it. And also again we're struggling with jealousy.
And what I mean by jealousy iswe may see someone moving in the
purpose God has given them. He'sgiven their hand to run, He's telling
them, hey, I said todo this, and that person heard from
(11:03):
God, and that person begin tomove mightily. And because we struggle with
rejection. We struggle with fears, and we struggle with all this self doubt
and all this abandonment that's deep downon the inside. We may find ourselves
sending back, looking and feeling alittle envious about what that person is doing.
(11:26):
Why, because we're afraid to move. We're afraid to move in what
they are and what God has calledus to do. And so we're looking
back and we're feeling a little jealousof why it can't be us, But
we really are afraid for it tobe us, And so we want to
talk about that. So the wordsays in Joe five six through seven,
(11:48):
it says, for affliction does notcome from the dust, nor does trouble
sprout from the ground. But aman is born to trouble. And so
the word here it tells us thatwe are going to have trouble. We
are going to have troubles in thisworld. That's not something we can get
away from. It's going to happen, but it's how we respond to it.
(12:11):
And I am a person who hada lot of troubles in my life.
I dealt with rejection. I dealtwith personally rejection and abandonment. I
felt all of these emotions that I'mtalking about today, and God had to
heal me and make me whole inmy spirit. I was walking in so
much barrenness. I heard the Lordspeaking to me years that were not just
(12:39):
days, not just minutes. ButI heard God speak to me over and
over for years. And because ofmy rejection and because of the abandonment issues
that I had, I continue toact as if I didn't hear him.
I continue to back up and shrinkback, as if no, I can
(13:00):
not possibly be calling me to dosomething. What about all these other people
out here that can do this? Why do you want me to do it?
I'm an author. For years, somebody asked me. I remember someone
asking me, when did you knowthat you were going to be an author?
And my answer was I didn't.I didn't even believe that I could
(13:24):
be an author. I love books. I love to write, I love
children's literature, I love all kindof literature and words. I love them.
But I never believed I could becomea writer, because of rejection,
because of abandonment, because of negativewords spoken into my spirit. And I
(13:48):
received those words for many years, and so it hindered me, and it
caused me to be stagnant in notmoving the purpose of God. And so
I'm one that's here to tell youthat you can do anything, because the
Word says we can do all thingsthrough Christ, who gives us strength.
I'm here to tell you but thatjust like in the Book of Job,
(14:09):
yes, there are things that we'regoing to go through. There are things
that we've all walked through. ButChrist is greater than those things, ay
Man. And so he wants usto get to the place to allow Him
to heal us, deliver us,set us free so that there can be
consistency. We start with step one, and then we move to step two,
(14:33):
and then we move to step three, and we consistently every week do
something to move in the purpose thatHe put inside of us. Ay Man.
Another scripture in Isaiah forty one andten, it says, fear not
fir, I'm with you. Benot dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, I willhelp you, I will uphold you
(14:56):
with my righteous right. And solet's break the scripture down. One of
the things that I do with hopein christ ministries is I create verse mapping
and Bible study strategies and Bible journalingstrategies, and so let's talk through using
one of the strategies, which isword study. Let's talk through this scripture
(15:16):
using word study. So it says, fear not, for I am with
you. Be not dismaye. Let'sstop right there. This maid means to
gaze at, to be distressed,to be appalled at something unbelievable, or
horrified about something. I'm gonna saythat one more time, to gaze at,
(15:39):
to be distressed, to be appalledat something unbelievable and horrified, something
that horrified us. And it says, be not dismayed. Don't focus on
it, don't be appalled at it. Yes it happened, whatever it was,
(16:02):
it happened, and yes it wasunbelievable, and yes you were appalled
at it. But don't gaze atit. Do not continue standing there gazing
at that thing, whatever it was, because it has you stagnant. Yes,
it horrified you. But the Lord, God of heaven and earth said
(16:23):
fear not, for I'm with you, and be not dismayed. Why he
gives you a reason, He says, for I am your God, I
am your Elohem, I am theLord of all. I am the one
who created heaven and earth. Iam the one who breathed life into man,
(16:45):
and man became a living soul.I am he So, do not
fear, and don't continue to standthere and continue gazing or being horrified or
in unbelief about what happened to you. He said, don't be dismayed.
He said, I will strengthen you. He said, for I'm your God,
(17:08):
I will strengthen you. What doeshe mean by strengthen you? He
said, i will give you courage. I will give you boldness, and
i will give you bravery. I'llgive you those things as you allow me
to heal you will. I willgive you those things as you will begin
to move. You're gonna be courageousin it. You're gonna be bold in
(17:29):
it. You're gonna be brave, and you won't have to worry about what
I've called you to do. Hesaid, I'm gonna strengthen you, But
you gotta stop being this made Hesaid, be not this maid. Stop
staring and gazing at it, becauseit has you paralyzed. He said,
I'm gonna strengthen you. I giveyou courage. I will give you the
(17:55):
courage and the boldness to move pastit. I will give you the courage
in the boldness to go and tellsomebody about what I've done in your life,
to let them know that if Idid it for you, I can
do it for them as well.I will give you that boldness. I
will give you that courage. Amen. And then he said, I will
(18:15):
help you so I will strengthen you. I will give you courage, boldness,
and bravery. And he said,I'm gonna help you. What does
that mean? Because sometimes we passright on by words in the scripture,
it says, what does that mean? I will help you? He said,
I will support you. I'm gonnasurround you with my help. You
(18:40):
won't do it alone. It's me. I'm there. I'm gonna help you
with it. He said, I'mgonna aid you, and I'm gonna assist
you in times of hardship. Soit says when things seeing hard and difficult,
(19:00):
when you feel like, no,Lord, I can't do that.
You want me to do this, but Lord, I can't do that.
I was that person when the Lordtold me to write my fiction women's fiction
story. When God gave me thatstory, when he said to write it,
I was like, no, Lord, I can't do that I'm not
(19:22):
gonna be able to do that.Lord, that's too much. That's too
much. But it wasn't about me. It was about the women that he
wanted me to help to empower, that they could overcome as I overcame.
So he supported me. He surroundedme with his strength. He surrounded me
(19:45):
and assisted me in times of whereit was very difficult to write the first
one. And so with the firstone, it took me two years to
write my first women's fiction. Icontinue to push me. God continued to
heal me. God continued to deliverme, and then he surrounded me with
(20:08):
his protection. He strengthened me whereI needed it. He supported me where
I needed it. When it felthard, I cried, I got it
out, but he still was mystrength in times of trouble. And then
he said, I will uphold youwith my righteous right hand. I will
(20:33):
uphold you and uphold means to sustainso again, you won't crumble because I'm
sustaining you. I'm gonna follow closebehind you. That's the other syndonym for
uphold. I'm gonna follow close behindyou and maintain you. And you won't
crumble because I got you. Andso In the scripture, the Lord is
(20:55):
telling us, don't fear. Don'tcontinue to be dismayed in things that you
have experienced, in those things thathave you paralyzed in place and not moving
in purpose. Amen. And thenanother scripture, Second Timothy one in five,
it says, for God gave usa spirit not of fear, but
(21:18):
of power and love and self control. Second Timothy one and seven again says
for God gave us a spirit notof fear. And can I pause for
a second to make sure that weunderstand, because this is a Christian podcast,
and we understand that we follow theword of the Living God. Amen.
(21:41):
And so the Word of the LivingGod says that fear is a spirit.
Fear and anxiety are spirits that theenemy sends across our path. He
sends it across our path to paralyzeus because he knows that God has given
(22:02):
us a great purpose to fulfill. And so and and and if we are
paralyzed by fear and paralyzed with anxietyand not moving, God said he didn't
give us that spirit. He said, that is a spirit that was not
sick from me, he said,But I did give you power and love
(22:26):
and self control and we're going tolook at power for just a moment.
Remember, we're doing a word study, and it is so very important that
when we read the word that weslow down enough and we focus in and
zooming on those words that have acertain meaning and those words that jump out
(22:48):
off the page of us. Andso we want to pay a tension again
to power. So, yes,we know he gave us love and self
control and uh. And in someof the versions of the word says says
(23:08):
sound mind, So we know thathe gave us a love and a sound
mind, gave us his love andself control in us or in a sound
mind. However, we want tofocus in on power. And so the
word that we we read it backinto the scripture, it says, for
I did not give you the spiritof fear for and and then the ESV
(23:33):
says, for God gave us aspirit not of fear, but of Now
let's read it back into the scripturewith the words that are the synonyms.
But the ability, the strength, the essential features that you were born with,
(23:55):
the deep seated features that you wereborn with, and love and self
control. He said, I didn'tgive you fear, but I gave you
the ability because I gave you theinerrent features, the essential core of your
being, deep seated, that youwere born with. So I gave you
(24:18):
the power within you, within yourspirit, man, and within your soul,
and the power of Christ that goesalong with it. I gave you.
I made you in my image andmy likeness. And I didn't give
you fear. You don't have torun from it. You don't have to
fear anything, because I did notgive that to you. But I gave
(24:41):
you a power, the ability toovercome it. I gave you the inerrent
essential features within you. As onewho was made in My image. You
were born with it to overcome it. And so in this scripture, God
is telling us we were born overcomersbecause we are made in his image,
(25:03):
and He is the true and livingGod. He alone is the self existing,
eternal God, and we were madein his image, and he gave
us the power to overcome our obstacles. He gave us the power to run
on in this purpose that He hasfor us, say Man, and Philippians
(25:27):
four and thirteen says, I'm remindingyou of this scripture, says I can
do all things through Him who strengthensme. So the next time that you
think about the doubts. When youhave the doubts and you make excuses and
you say no, no, no, it's not perfect, you remember that
(25:49):
we are not perfect, but Godis. And it doesn't have to be
perfect. Why because God can usethe imperfection. God can use us any
way, and it doesn't have tobe perfect because it's gonna reach someone.
(26:10):
If it's a book, it maynot be necessarily all prim and proper and
beautiful, but it could reach oneperson and they can begin to ask,
can Christ do this for me?How do I get to know this Christ
that did this in your life? And so the next time we feel a
(26:34):
little jealous in our spirit and jealousin our heart about someone else running on
in purpose, ask yourself, amI listening to God? Have a hearken
to his voice and begin to runand what He gave me to do?
Because there's no reason for us tofeel in be and jealousy. Why because
(26:57):
God put purpose in it, everyone of us. And my purpose may
not be your purpose, and yourpurpose may not be my purpose, but
He put purpose in you anyhow,And when we zoom in and start focusing
on that purpose, our eyes won'tbe fixed on anybody else's and what else
(27:21):
they have to do. We don'thave to be jealous. We are.
We are because we all have somethingGod is placed inside of us, and
we're all brothers and sisters. We'reall God's creation. And of course,
because he is God, he putpurpose in us. And so when we
get in tune and when we fixour eyes on Jesus, let's go back
(27:41):
and summarize, and we begin toobey his instructions. And I'm not somebody
who's just talking to you. I'msomeone who had to obey his instructions and
fix my eyes on him. It'snot about who's supporting you and who's not
supporting you, because guess what,Sometimes our family is our audience. We
(28:03):
focus in on why why people arenot supporting us and why this and why
that. But the people that wemay be zooming in on our may not
necessarily be our audience. And sowe have to fix our eyes on Christ,
obey his instructions, make sure thatwe are not overdoing it or overcommitting
to something that's not His purpose forus. Because when we do that,
(28:27):
of course we can't be consistent. Why because we're weighed down with things that
he didn't give us to do.And so we can't be consistent, and
we can't set aside uninterrupted time. And we think about the amount of time
that we stay on social media.Sometimes it's just to kind of give ourselves
(28:48):
a brain break. But how muchof that time can we take to begin
to move in God's purpose? Tobegin there to obey just the one step,
because if we once we take thatfirst step, God to give us
the next step, and then thenext step, and then the next step,
and before you know it, youwould have done all that He gave
(29:11):
you to do. Here's an example. I started off with simply starting a
blog, and I was before Istarted that blog and launched the hope in
Christ's blog. I begin with simplyin my phone. I would write these
devotionals, and they were for mebecause the Lord showed me that before I
(29:33):
could minister hope, I had toallow Him to be the hope in my
life and put my hope in Christmyself. And so as I was writing
those devotionals, I mean, Iwould write devotionals, and I would have
all of these devotionals housed in myphone. God would give me an image
of something and I would from thatimage, I would write a devotional and
(29:55):
I did it for probably over ayear, probably even longer, and one
day in twenty fifteen, the Lordsaid, I want you to launch the
Hope in Christ's devotional website. AndI said, Lord, I don't know
how to do this, and Idon't know how to do that. So
I begin to what make excuses?Right? I began to make excuses,
(30:18):
and the Holy Spirit said, youhave all them, the ones you've written
in your phone. Use those,And before I knew it, I had
several, I want to say, thirty forty devotionals just from what I had
wrote, and it had ministered tome. And when I realized it ministered
(30:38):
to me. But then others beganto read them, and they began to
minister to them as well, Andyes, I doubt it. I was
like, Lord, nobody's going toread this. This was for me,
but they did. And when Ifirst started out, it was a small
audience, and the audience grew, and then God gave me the podcast,
(31:02):
and then God began to give methe verse mapping strategies to create. And
I've been in wombs with hundreds ofpeople teaching them how to unfold God's word
and how to organize their thoughts sothat they can come into the knowledge of
their true identity in Christ Jesus. But it started with step one and started
(31:26):
with God allow me, allowing Godto deliver me so that I would be
delivered from anxiety and abandonment issues andcleanse me and deliver me. And He
had to rebuild my self worth. And then I didn't have to say,
wait a minute, it's not perfect. I can't share it because it's not
(31:48):
perfect. And there are times Istill struggle with perfectionism and I say,
Okay, Lord, no I can'tdo that. Help me to keep going,
Help me to keep going, Lord. And now I don't have to
(32:14):
be in control because I know He'sin controller. He's gonna give me instructions.
And even with my writing, Idon't have to be in control of
what I'm writing because God already toldme what I needed to write. Amen.
And so that's just an example.Remember in this year as we move
forward, as you move forward andhear instructions about your purpose and destiny,
(32:35):
what God has for you to do, remember be consistent. And the only
way we can be consistent is weallow Him to heal us and deliver us
so that we could stop making excuses, stop struggling with doubt, stop the
perfectionism, stop struggling with jealousy, and stop struggling with control and the low
(32:58):
self work. Why because we're gonnaallow him to build us and and and
and touch our spirit man and healour spirit man and tell us what he
is given us to do so wecan move in. And Amen, and
so I hope and pray that thishas blessed you, and I'm gonna and
I'm gonna close us out in prayer. Father, we thank you God for
(33:21):
your word. I thank you Godfor your truth. I thank you Lord
God for who you are. AndI pray that the person that is listening
to this that they would allow youand they would be brave and allow you
to heal and deliver and set freeso and show you that you can show
them their purpose God, so thatthey can move in it. Oh God,
(33:45):
I thank you, Lord God forshowing me even now that this,
this recording, this podcast may notbe perfect, but it's gonna reach somebody's
heart. And I thank you inadvance for it now in Jesus' name,
Amen, Amen and Amen. Soagain, thank you all for tuning in
(34:05):
to hope in Christ within these hereon Kingdom influences broadcast. I pray that
you will place your hope and theonly hope there is, Christ, Jesus
our Lord. Have a phenomenal restof your week.
