continuing with our Walking in Relationship serieshere on Hoping Christ with Denise, and

(03:34):
as we've been discussing in the lasttwo episodes, part of our relationship with
the Lord is prayer. It isessential we are continuing with the components of
prayer using each letter in the wordprayer. So we have done two so
far. Today we're doing the thirdone. So today I'm going to share

(03:57):
the next letter in prayer in theprayer series, the letter A and the
A stands for acknowledging, acknowledging thepower. So what are we going to
be talking about? Acknowledging the powerand authority of Price in our lives and
in the earth. Acknowledging the brokenand unhealed places that hinder us from moving
in God's purpose. And acknowledging thatwe need the Lord. So we're gonna

(04:23):
acknowledge we need the Lord a man. So we are continuing with the acronym
of prayer. Remember the P wasposturing our hearts they are was reverence,
continuous reverence, So you're gonna we'regonna talk about reverence throughout and repentance and
releasing a man. And so todaywe're going to talk about acknowledging. This

(04:46):
is an acronym and this is oneof those strategies from the Hope Way where
you can use this either A throughprayer time, so you can take and
do each step in prayer time oryou can do this as you study people
who are praying in the Bible.I think that's very unique, and I
think that's important for us to seehow people prayed so that we understand how

(05:12):
we can come to God and Man. All right, So of course we
are going to jump right in withthe definition of acknowledge. So according to
Philippians two and eleven, we mustacknowledge Christ right, and so to acknowledge
means to agree fully right and confess, So to agree fully, so I

(05:36):
must agree that this is whatever itis, and I must confess it or
admit or to tell or make knownabout something. So that's what acknowledging is.
And the other part of acknowledging isto profess or affirm one's faith or
in allegiance to and to promise. So one of the things we're going to

(05:59):
zoom on is agreeing fully and confessing. So acknowledging we're gonna do mean on
is the agreeing fully and the confessionpart. Right, We yes, and
we must profess Christ, affirming ourfaith in our allegiance to Him. As
I think about the word allegiance andhow we stand in and all through school

(06:23):
and even as an educator, whowe stand and we stay a plage allegiance
to the flag, you know, and so, but allegiance our faith,
our allegiance and and dedication should beto Christ, firmstymen, Christ and and
and his redeem empowering all that Hehas for us. Amen. All right,

(06:49):
Before we get into the scriptures relatedto acknowledging, I want you to
think about something that you may needto confess or make known to God that
you may have been hiding or holdingback on hold it on too for so
long or for some time. SoI want you to think about something and

(07:12):
get it in your head and somethingyou need to confess to make known to
God and how, And let memake this is just a side note.
We can't hold back things we do. And I've done it and I'm gonna
share it in just a moment.Because God is God, and he knows
all things, and he knows. The Word says that he knows our thoughts,
right, and so he knows whatwe're already thinking. He knows what's

(07:35):
in our heart. And that's whythe Word says that God. God looks
at the heart. He doesn't lookat the outer appearance of mankind, but
he looks at our hearts, andso trying to hide it from God is
like funny to me. But Ilaughed because I did it. I tried
to do it. And so therelationship part is God allowing us too hide

(08:01):
it, right, but He's waitingfor us to bring it to him.
Amen. And so my story, and just a little side note before we
get into the scriptures. I acceptedChrist over twenty years ago, right,
but I wasn't fully healed from mypast. Years went by and I was
in church right, praising the Lordand church praying and worship in and all

(08:24):
of that, and then I realizedI was still broken. I was still
broken. There were things, Therewas residue of things that were in me
that I had held back, right. And I heard the Lord say to
me one day I was in churchand I heard the Lord say, give
it to me, all of it, every bit of it. And I

(08:48):
heard the Lord say, I didn'tintend for you to carry this load,
right, And so we carry thesethings and we keep them stored, and
they are hindering us, right. And what was happening with me. God
was calling me to come forth,It was calling me to write news,
calling me to start this podcast. It's calling me to begin to speak and

(09:11):
minister to women and children. AndI was broken, right, And so
I had to acknowledge that I wasbroken, right, So I wanted us
to think about that for a moment. I had to agree that, yes,
I am broken. Yes that hurtme. Yes, I oh it
almost destroyed me. But I acknowledgethat it is so, and I give

(09:37):
it to the one who can dosomething with it, right, because I
had held on to it for solong and it was hindering me. It
really was. It was hindering me. So I did and for the first
time in years, so I gaveit to the Lord. And the first
time in years, I felt free. I really felt freedom. You know,

(10:00):
the word says whom the sun setsfree is free indeed, and so
I felt freedom for the first timea man. So I want you to
keep that in mind as we're talkingthrough this episode of acknowledging. All right,
So, as we've been doing, what comes to mind when you think
of acknowledging. So when I thinkabout acknowledging, so I sat, and

(10:22):
I always do this first right beforeI begin to share it on the podcast.
So the words that came to mymind immediately, and I highlighted and
blew the words that those that cansee it see the video portion of it.
I highlighted in blue what words havebeen consistent. And so the words

(10:46):
that have been consistent through the episodesare vulnerable in faith. Right, And
so we want to make sure thatwe understand when we posture our hearts,
right, that's the first part. When we when we posture our heart,

(11:09):
when we repent and we release andall of that, we are being vulnerable
before the Lord. We are becomingvulnerable before the Lord. We are and
and then it's a faith walk,right, It's a faith walk. All
of it is is a faith walk. And some of the other words that
come to mind are help. Right, We're gonna receive help when we acknowledge,

(11:31):
we receive the help of the Lord. And there's a new walk,
right, There's a newness, there'sa new walk because I'm free of all
of the residue of my past orthe or even my presence some of us.
It is our present. And sowhen we release it and acknowledge it
and agree that yes, this hurtsme, this is what's going on in

(11:54):
my life, then I'm able togive it to God. I walk becomes
new right because I'm not holding thebaggage any longer. And there's a surrender.
So that's the other word that cameto my mind when I was thinking
about this surrender in order to acknowledgesomething of the Lord I have, that's

(12:16):
a surrender that has to take place, right Lord, Okay, I give
it a I release it. Icome out with my hands up, I
lift my hands and I give itall to you. There's a surrender there.
There's a trust. In order tosurrender, I must be willing to
trust God that he is going toheal me from it, deliver me from
it, whatever it is that Ineed to surrender to him. And of

(12:41):
course we've talked about honesty in thelast episode, honest, being honest with
it. But again that's the vulnerabilitythere, where there's an honesty that we
have to say, yes, Lord, this happened, and this happened,
and this happened, and this happened, and yes it happened. But I
need you, I need your Lord, amen. And then finally releasing and

(13:03):
the freedom that comes with it.So releasing it is too okay. I
can become vulnerable. I can tellGod about it, right, but it's
not until I released it. Itwas not until I released it to God
and gave it to him and Iheard the voice of the Lord say,
give it to me. I haveto open my hands. It's a picture

(13:24):
that, right, picture yourself openingyour hands and releasing everything you've been holding
on to Amen. And so that'swhat I had to do. And that's
what we're gonna look in, youknow, talk about today. So the
first scripture, of course, ofacknowledging it. So Scripture one on acknowledgment

(13:46):
is Philippians two nine through eleven, and Philippians two nine through eleven says,
therefore God has exalted him and bestowedon him the name that is above every
name, so that at the nameof g Jesus, every need should bow,
and even in heaven and on earthand under the earth, and every

(14:07):
tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lordto the glory of God the Father.
So our first acknowledging, right, the first confession, the first truth,
the first thing that we are tocome into agreement with on this faith walk,
on this relationship walk, and thisprayer journey that we're on, is

(14:31):
to acknowledge that God is exalted Christand Christ. It says that at the
name of Jesus, every need shouldbow. Right, should bow means that
because he is Lord, and hehas been exalted, and he is the
exalted one. He is as hesays in the world, I am the

(14:54):
first and the last. I amyou know, I am the bread of
life and all of those things. And so he's the birth of life.
He's all of those things to us, and so we have to. It
says we should bow our need inheaven. It says that every need should
bow in heaven. Why why they'rebowing in heaven, because it's it's his
creation, right, the angels andare bowing in heaven. And it says

(15:18):
in under the earth, right onearth, and under the earth, and
so everything, because the Word saysthat all things were made through hiven by
Him. Nothing was made that hasbeen made. Right without him, nothing
was made that has been made. And so we know that the Word says
that in the beginning was the world, and the Word was with God.

(15:41):
The Word was God, and allthings were created through Christ. And so
with that being said that it saysevery need should bow in heaven and on
earth and under the earth. Soeverything that he created should bow the need
to him a man, And that'sacknowledging confessing that it is so that he

(16:04):
is the Lord a man. Itsays every tone confessed that Christ is Jesus.
Christ is Lord to the glory ofGod the Father. So that's our
first acknowledgement. That's the very firstand the most important acknowledgment. And when
we acknowledge that, and it's morethan just speaking words, right. I
learned this years ago where I beginto ask questions like I used to be

(16:30):
in church and I would you know, I would be thinking in my head.
I didn't say it out loud, but I would think in my head,
and it seemed to be a lotof religious practices. But when we
speak about Christ, is that reallywhat's going on in our hearts? And
so for me today, it isacknowledging, yes, that He is the

(16:53):
Lord. So I bow my kneeto the rip, to the highly exalted
Christ, Jesus, my Savior,my redeemer, my waymaker, hallelujah.
And so that is the first acknowledgingthat we're gonna make sure that we do
in prayer a man. And soour quick reflection reflection one, what do

(17:18):
you notice about acknowledgment in the scripture, give you a moment to think about
it. So when I noticed inthat particular scripture is the exalting of Christ
was from God, and every individualshould vow to his authority. Amen,

(17:41):
every individual, everyone in heaven, right on earth and under New York as
the word, as that scripture says. And so because he is exalted,
right, he is the exalted one, he is the great. I am
right, he is the one ashe as the scripture. I don't know
the scripture write off, but wherehe says to someone in the New Testament,

(18:03):
he says, before Abraham was Iam amen? I am amen,
so bowing to his authority. Whatelse did I noticed about acknowledgement? Jesus's
name is above every name. Thereforein prayer we come to him knowing there
is nothing or anybody right, oranyone else greater than he. So we

(18:27):
can come to him with our problems. We can come to him with whatever
we may be experiencing, and knowingthat nothing is greater than Jesus. Amen.
So I just I was excited toshare that part with you, all
right, So the next part thatwe're going to be talking about right in

(18:48):
this episode is an actual person whoacknowledged Jesus, and Jesus acknowledged them,
and so we are very familiar withthis person. This person is the woman
the issue of blood, one ofmy favorites to read about in scripture.
There's so much there, and we'regoing to talk a little bit about it
in this episode. The woman withthe issue of blood was she didn't There

(19:14):
was not even a name recorded forher. She was known by her issue.
Think about that for a moment. She was only known by her issue.
She was not It wasn't enough torecord her name in scripture. But
maybe she wasn't just well known, but she was known for her issue.

(19:37):
A man and so the word saysin Luke eight forty three through forty eight,
it says, and there was awoman who had had a discharge of
blood for twelve years. Twelve years. Remember I talked about holding on to
things for years and years and notreally acknowledging it until it comes to a
head, as they say, andit's and though she had spent all her

(20:03):
living on physicians, she could notbe healed by anyone. She's gone everywhere,
but there was no healing that cameto this woman after twelve years,
she came up behind him who ishim Jesus and touched the fringe of his
garment, and immediately her discharge ofblood ceased. She came up behind Jesus.

(20:32):
Right, every niche about every time, shall confess that Jesus Christ is
Lord. That's what we just read, right, he said, Come onto
me. These are his words,he said, and I will give you
rest. He said, Take myyoke and learn of me, for my
yoke is easy and my burdens oflife. These are his words. He
says that he can do the miraculousin our lives. Right, And so

(20:55):
it says she came up behind himand touched the fringe of his garment and
immediately. It didn't say twenty minuteslater. It didn't say a year later.
It didn't say thirty minutes later. It didn't say two minutes later.
It said immediately her discharge of bloodceased. Right, And so what do
we notice about this acknowledgement. Solet's focus on the acknowledgment, right,

(21:22):
So what do we see in theacknowledgment in this first part of the scripture.
We noticed that the woman acknowledged thatshe had an issue that she nor
the doctors could heal. She advenedhad spent all the money, right,
and we all know if someone,if not ourselves, someone who has a
condition, a physical condition, right, that they that is expensive. And

(21:47):
they spent a lot of money onmedicine and different things trying to get healed.
And so this woman acknowledges, sheadmits, the doctor can't fix it.
They can't heal me. I can'thear myself, my parents can't hear
me. Nobody can heal me.And then she acknowledged the power and the

(22:10):
authority of Christ to heal her.Think about that she acknowledged because if she
had not acknowledged, she wouldn't havemoved her feet to go and touch Jesus.
She had seen something, she hadheard about this Christ that was going

(22:30):
about healing and delivering people. Andshe acknowledged that power and that authority in
Christ to heal her. Hallylujah,Thank you Lord God. So let's go
to the next part. And itsays and Jesus said, who was it

(22:51):
that touched me? So Jesus, all these people circled around Jesus and he
says, wait a minute, somebodytouched me. I want us to get
that in the spirit. Right whenall denied that, Peter said, Master,
the crowd surround you and you andare pressing in on you. But

(23:14):
Jesus said, someone touched me.For I perceived that power has gone out
from me. He said, somebodytouched me and their faith, and that
the faith in me was so strongthat power that that that faith brought about

(23:37):
healing, and that person had faithin me, knowing and and so he
acknowledges that there's power within him.Right, he show he reveals to us
here in this scripture. He said, So before I perceive that power has
gone out for me, he said, somebody touched me. Now, mind
you, there's a lot of peoplepressing again, said there's a lot of

(24:00):
people around him, but he onlysays that someone touched him. That means
that in all of the hustle andbustle, the faith of those people might
have been You know how, sometimesthere's almost kind of like a famous person.
So somebody gets gets here's about thefamous person is in town or famous

(24:23):
person is is I'm in the Georgiaarea in Atlanta, and and there's this
big crowd and oppressing, oppressing, and they're curious, maybe they're curious about
this Jesus, that's that's here. And he had been laying hands. They'd
heard about him laying hands and healingit and speaking about the Kingdom of God

(24:44):
and all of those things. Sothey might have heard and they might have
been curious. But this woman cameby faith. This woman believed that this
was he who could heal. Shebelieved. So he stops in the midst
of it. I'm just picturing himand stopping in the midst of this huge

(25:07):
crowd. He said, who isit that touched me? So when we
pray, is Jesus saying the samething? Who is it that touched me
with their faith? Who is itthat's trusting in me, that knows that
I can heal them, I candeliver them, I can set them free?

(25:29):
And he sends his power right havingfaith and believing that nothing is too
hard for him, because he said, the power has gone from me.
He said that power has gone forme. So in telling us and making
us aware in this scripture, thatpower is worth him. Ah, thank

(26:00):
you Lord. So the reflection reflectionthree, what do we notice about acknowledging
here in this criature? We noticedthat Jesus acknowledges again that power and virtue
had gone from him. Right,Jesus confesses slash acknowledges that he has power
within him. Right, so we'vesaid that, and I want us to

(26:22):
ponder or think about that. Heconfesses and acknowledges that there is power within
him. There's power, And therewere so many people. Keep that in
mind. There were so many peoplesurrounding him, almost like a famous person
being surrounded. Everybody want to touchand everybody want an autograph. But this
woman didn't appear to care about hisfame. She knew that spiritually, this

(26:52):
man, this was the one whocould heal her, who could deliver her.
Knew this was the Messiah before her, a man. And so so
we want to think about that reflection. We're almost done, and then scripture
for this is the last part ofthat scripture. And when the woman saw

(27:15):
that she was not hidden, soshe tried to hide. She even after
touching him, she hid away. She wasn't interested in the fame of Christ,
right, Hi, Glory to God. I'm gonna say that one more
time. She wasn't interested in thefame of Christ. She was interested in
the in Christ, the Messiah, the healer, the deliver, or the

(27:36):
waymaker. And so it says shecame trembling. So he kept saying,
somebody touched me. Somebody touched me. And so she came trembling right and
falling down before him, declared inthe presence of all the people, why
she had touched him. Sidn meanthat I just needed to touch him.

(27:57):
So she declared before the crowd ofpeople why she had touched him and how
she had been immediately healed. Soshe confessed what happened after touching Christ,
and Jesus said to her, daughter, your faith has made you well.

(28:17):
Your faith has made you well.Go in peace, don't be afraid.
It's okay. I know you're tremblingand you're scared. But your faith,
your faith in me, your faiththat I could heal you, made you
well a man. And so whatdo we notice about acknowledging here in this

(28:41):
part of the scripture, the womanabout herself acknowledging the power and the authority
of Christ. Right, if hejust completely healed her of twelve years of
a medical condition, Right, sheknew that there was power and authority in
him, and so she needed tobow to the Lord. The Lord Hallelujah.

(29:08):
And then what was the other acknowledgment? The woman acknowledged that the power
in Jesus healed her instantly. Itdidn't take days, hours, months,
or years. It was instant. So she acknowledged that his power because she
experienced it. Right, It wasa first hand experience of the power of

(29:30):
Christ. And so when we prayed, we must acknowledge that the power of
Christ. Many of us have beenhealed by something that Jesus did. I'm
a witness. I was healed experiencingendometriosis, being told I couldn't have children,
and God he healed me because Ihave a son, right, I

(29:51):
mean, and my husband have ason. And so the acknowledging that his
power in his authority, and thatdoctors don't have our the answers right because
they're human. They're mere, merehuman, they're mere creations of God.
But they are not deities. Andso we have to be very careful even

(30:11):
even with our pastors and leaders andwhoever they are, and not acknowledging them
because they're the human that God isusing. Right, But we acknowledge Christ
and his power and his authority.Amen. And then the final reflection part
here is Jesus acknowledged the woman hadfaith and she can just have, you

(30:33):
know, a little bit of faith. She had faith, and her belief
in his power made her will.So she didn't he didn't acknowledge that she
went she went to church or youknow, because sometimes there's that's that's the
thing that people focus on when Igo to church. I do this,

(30:53):
I do that. But Jesus acknowledgeher faith, her belief in him,
and he said that belief made herwell because he can do anything. He
can do anything. And I'm sayingthat to myself, is well as I'm
recording this podcast. He can doanything, anything that I need. I

(31:17):
just have to believe that he cando it. And it's not about just
him going to him for things, right, I believe, Lord, you
can give me this, you giveme that, because then that becomes a
Santa Claus type thing. And weknow Santa's not real, right, but
we know Jesus is real, andso it's more than just Jesus give me
this, Jesus give me that. But it's that relationship is well where we

(31:41):
draw near to him. The wordsays, drawn out to him, and
he will draw nowh to you andso, and then we ask according to
his will, right, and weknow that it is his will that we
are healed, because the Word saysthat I desire that you prosper be in
health as your soul prospers. Soin addition to your soul prospering, I

(32:02):
desire that you would prosper and bein health. And so this was according
to the will of the Lord. And so Jesus acknowledged the faith that she
had and in him to be healed. A man. All right, So,
as we're prepare to close out thisepisode, remember to acknowledge Christ.

(32:27):
He has the power to do whatit is what is needed in your life.
Right, he has the power todo it. It doesn't matter.
I am a witness, I'm aliving witness. I can give you a
story after story after the story,or testimony after testimony of how I've seen
Christ do things by his power andhis authority. And man, remember to

(32:49):
acknowledge your struggles. And the onewith issue of blood acknowledged that she had
a problem that could not be solved. When we keep acting as if it's
not there and not bringing it tothe Lord, it will remain and continue
to keep us stuck. Right, she was stuck, and we know in

(33:14):
the Jewish history, and we knowsome of the laws of that they had
to be separated. Like she wasn'teven supposed to be in that crowd because
of her issue of blood right, she was considered unclean. But regardless of
being unclean and considered unclean, shemade her way to Jesus. And so

(33:35):
don't let what you have experienced, what you've gone through, holding on to
it and not giving it to theLord to keep you stuck any longer.
Ama, So in prayer, seekhim, give him everything that is needed,
and let him heal you, lethim deliver you, let him set
you free of that thing, whateverit is. Hallelujah. And then the

(33:59):
last part, as we close,I remember to acknowledge that you need the
Lord. We have a lot ofthings in our world, a lot of
a lot of words and and andvoices going out as if we can heal
ourselves and and and you know, people saying what they can do for themselves.
But we need God. We needGod, and man, it is

(34:23):
the one thing to do. It'sone thing to believe God exists, right,
It's one thing to believe that Godexists, and it's another to draw
close in relationship, to get toknow him and seek him. Like the
unknown woman in scripture, she didn'tcare they didn't know her name. She
didn't care about that. She drovecloser to him and man, and she

(34:52):
put herself at risk. That's whyshe was trembling. Because of the law.
She was considered unqueen right, butshe didn't care about that. She
drew closer because she knew that hewas the healer. Amen. And if
we can name this woman, wewould name her, or we could name

(35:15):
her made whole by Christ. Wewant that. We want the same thing.
We want to be made whole byChrist Jesus. And so in prayer
we must acknowledge that he can makeus home, that he is the living
Hope. He is the one whowas and is and is to come.

(35:37):
Only he can do it. Doctors, yes, we can go to a
doctor. Yes we can go toa therapist, Yes we can. We
can do those things. But thespiritual things, and there's certain there's things
in us that only Jesus can heal. He can use people, right,

(35:59):
he can use people. He canuse people. He can he can touch
us through people, absolutely, Butdon't depend. Don't make something a doctor
or a therapist or whatever. Donot make that an idol, that person
in idol, because only Christ hasthe power, the complete and total power

(36:23):
to heal us. Even therapists, even doctors, even those individuals are being
their gifts. Their gifts come fromGod right. And even if that person
is being used to help you withhealing, that that healing came from the
Lord. Amen, that healing camefrom the North. But acknowledge that,
