Speaker 1 (00:13):
Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
Hawkgrel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is
your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
a new mindset, and another day if you become the
howt Grel Energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
Happy Wednesday, Welcome to a new episode. I'm already feeling
really good going into the month of May. I feel

(00:35):
like just getting back into habits and setting these goals
for myself. This month has been, honestly so like mindset changing,
if that makes sense. I feel like my mindset's just
in such a better headspace this month, even compared to
just the past few months of the winter season, and yeah,
I'm just feeling really good about it. I've been listening

(00:55):
to a lot of podcasts lately, which I feel like
I'm always listen listening to one while walking, But there's
the odd time where you know, I switch between listening
to a podcast or just listening to music, and I
feel like I was kind of leaning more towards just
like listening to music or watching YouTube videos versus actually
listening to podcasts. And one podcast episode that my girlfriend

(01:16):
was like, you need to listen to this episode because
it is so down your alley in terms of just
like talking about health and wellness and really focusing on
women's health and how women are working out and what
women are doing and seeing the actual benefits to just
like your overall physique on how you're feeling as a woman,

(01:36):
and how we should be eating and how we should
be working out. And it was a recent episode with
Mel Robbins and a doctor I can't remember her name,
to be honest, but I will put the episode that
I'm referencing in the description because I definitely think this
is something that all women should listen to, because it
really opened up my eyes personally, because I never really

(01:57):
knew the science and research behind a lot of these
trends that we see on social media when it comes
to how we should be eating, how we should be
working out as women. And I'll give a brief summary
of the episode because it was just such an eye
opening and shocking episode to listen to, and I wanted
to bring it into conversation into this episode because of course,

(02:20):
we're all about just finding ways to improve our overall health,
our mindset, all that, and in today's episode, we do
kind of touch on just things you could do to
really glow up for the summer season, things that I
recommend investing in that I've personally tried, that I think
is worth the hype. So I kind of wanted to
bring it into a conversation in today's episode because essentially

(02:42):
what this doctor was saying in this episode was that
the way that these trends that we're seeing in terms
of different types of diets, so like intermittent and fasting,
the Keto diet, plant based diet, all those little things,
along with how we should be working out. You know,
for a lot of the time, people were saying like

(03:02):
lifting heavy, you know, don't do low impact work, odes,
blah blah blah, like everything you can imagine that you
see on social media, and how people should be doing.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
You know, certain things.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
And of course, everyone has a different body and things
work differently for everyone's body. But as females compared to males,
there is a difference when it comes to the health
and wellness industry, and apparently like ninety percent of research
when it comes to these diets and the way we
work out is all based off of men. Like all

(03:33):
the research is done with men, not female. So this woman,
what she was saying is that one thing that was
quite shocking to me was that women should not be fasting,
like women should not be doing the intermittent fasting diet,
which technically I don't intermit in fast like I don't
have a specific time of eating, like you know, I
don't eat till noon and then I stop eating at eight,

(03:53):
Like I don't do that type of thing. But I
do technically fast in a way because I wake up,
I go to an early morning workout class, I don't
eat before just because it's so early that I'm not
really hungry, and by the time I get back, you know,
I eat my breakfast. So technically I shouldn't be doing that,
which I didn't know that. And basically, women need fuel

(04:14):
in order for us to actually see the results that
we want to see when it comes.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
To our physique.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
And that was a real eye opening thing that she said,
because I feel like men who do fast are seeing
such high results and all that, and she's like, yes,
it works for men. Fasting works for men, but for
women it's going to provide the opposite effect. So that
to me was probably the most shocking thing that I
heard from that episode. Another thing they touched on was

(04:41):
about cold plunges and how cold plunges are not recommended
for women based on the way our brain and like
body work, along with how workouts actually affect our stress
levels and that's what affects our weight loss or you know,
muscle gain and all that. So essentially working out is

(05:02):
our way to relieve our stress. And the reason why
when people aren't working out or moving their bodies and
they see an increase in stress, it's because they're not
moving their bodies, which kind of makes sense. But anyways,
I recommend every woman that is listening to this episode
to go listen to it. It's Mel Robbins, which is
one of my favorite podcasts to listen to. She's so
inspiring and this woman that came on her podcast as

(05:24):
a doctor just to kind of talk about these things
and how most likely the stuff you're seeing on social
media is probably based off of men's research and it's
most likely not for a female. And it's funny because
my mom actually intermittent fast, like she does not eat
till noon and then she eats dinner. I think the
late is at like six o'clock, and then she doesn't

(05:45):
eat the rest of night. But you know, my mom's
always like, oh, you know, with menopause, it's kind of
hard to see results. And I think that's very normal
to be in the menopause phase and feel that way.
So I said to my mom, I'm like, I really
think you should listen to this episode because I think
it might be a really eye opening experience for you,
and maybe it's time for you to make a change
in your current lifestyle. Like maybe it isn't doing Intermont fasting,

(06:06):
maybe it's doing something different. Maybe you should be doing
you know, heavier lifting and doing more strength training versus
just you know, doing cardio. So my mom is a
big believer in cardio, and I don't know, I just
feel like she could listen to it just to kind
of understand what I learned from the episode. And yeah,
so anyways, I will put the episode in the description.

(06:26):
Obviously that was like a very like vague description and
summary of the episode, But anyways, I highly recommend listening
to it if you really want to understand the woman's
body and just everything they said when it comes to
just eating and the way we exercise as females. Obviously,
summer is our topic of today's episode. Honestly, the whole
month of May, it's going to be a lot of

(06:47):
just like getting prepped for the summer season. But I
wanted to quickly touch base on something exciting that we're
doing here at my house. We're finally setting up our
backyard this weekend. I'm so excited about it. I think
I kind of touched base on it in the last episode,
just talking about how we planned on setting it up,
and we went to home depot this past weekend. I

(07:07):
ended up actually vlogging on YouTube. I kind of took
a vlogging break from YouTube just because I mentioned in
the last episode that I was kind of having like
an anxiety period situation the.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Last two weeks and just wasn't in the right headspace.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
So I kind of took a step back from YouTube
until I felt, you know, back to my normal self.
And I'm feeling back to my normal self, which is good.
So I got back onto YouTube and we kind of
just touched on a few things that we were looking at,
like a barbecue, looking at interlock, plants, how we're going
to design the backyard all that, and we decided on

(07:41):
not doing interlock. We decided that We're going to do
a deck instead, only because interlock will take a lot
longer to do for Zach to do. To be honest,
we could have hired someone to obviously do the backyard,
but that's just like way over the budget and we
don't want to do that, whereas Zach and my dad
are going to do it, hopefully in a weekend or

(08:02):
two of just adding a nice little area for us
to set up like a couch, a dining set, a barbecue,
all that, and the interlock was going to cost us
like six thousand dollars, which I'm like, oh, that's over
the budget, where as a deck was going to cost
us like half the amount. So I'm like, okay, well,

(08:22):
I feel more comfortable paying for a deck verse interlock.
So we decided to do that because, in full transparency,
we don't plan on living here for that much longer,
so I didn't really want to invest in that much
money for a backyard that I'm not going to be
able to take with me when I move out. So anyways,
we're not moving out like anytime soon. I'm just saying

(08:43):
that we didn't feel the need to invest that much
money in the backyard when it's not like our permanent home.
So yeah, that's just a little update on that, but
we're really excited my backyard inspo I have on my Pinterest,
which you guys know, I'm always on Pinterest, just literally
planning out my life as we y'all should, just envisioning
and romanticizing our.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Life and how we envision it.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
And I have so many backyards plans and I have
a full in spellboard if you guys are interested in
going to check that out. But it's very like coastal
summer vibes, very much like a Cape cod vibe or
a Nantucket just very like beachy coastal cottage core kind
of vibe. That's the vibe I have for the backyard bute. Yeah,
I have my Pinterest I think linked in the description.

(09:25):
If I don't, I will include it because that's like
literally my safe space. I'm literally constantly on that app
every single morning and night, and I'm constantly saving things
that I kind of envision for my goals or for
my lifestyle anything like that. And we're gonna actually kind
of touch on that in this episode because we did
talk about in last week's episode about a summer persona

(09:48):
of this women that you want to become this summer, Like,
how do you want to see yourself for this summer season?
And I think that's a big goal for everyone. And
I think everyone needs to vision that person that they
want to become for this season, whether it's becoming a
Pilates princess, a Hawkgirl, walker, a Jim Batty, whatever it is.

(10:09):
I think everyone kind of has a vision. Or maybe
it's the travel girl who's constantly traveling hitting different places up,
Like I think we all kind of have a different
vision for how are summer's going to be? And I
think we all need to get on Pinterest. We all
need to create a vision board of this persona that
we see ourself becoming. And the best spot is going
on Pinterest and finding pictures and really representing this persona

(10:32):
that you starve to become, because we all want to
be our healthiest self, our happiest self, our best looking self,
Like we all want to feel beautiful this summer. And
I want to share some things when it comes to
a glow up of how we can feel a bit
more confident in ourselves by just doing these little things.
And I'm going to be honest, I'm high maintenance. I
think everyone knows that I have an extras fuck morning

(10:55):
routine that I do every single morning. But I romanticize
my life. But I find doing those things makes me
feel good. I feel happy doing it, and I know,
as I said, it's extra, but it makes me feel good,
So why not do it?

Speaker 2 (11:08):
And again, it's all about who the heck cares? Right?

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Why are we caring about what people think of us?
If it makes you feel good, if it puts you
in the right mindset, then you should just do it.
So one thing that I love to do that I
feel like really boosts my confidence is I always love
to get my nails done. And I actually just got
my nails done recently. I did this most perfect nail
shade that I find is the most perfect neutral nail color.

(11:32):
It's not bubble bath, it's not funny bunny. It's called
the Pearly Pink, and it really just does give that
pearly look.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
If you're actually a bride to be.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
This color would be really good to try out, to
be honest, because it's so stunning. And then I added
a chrome finish on top, and I just love how
neutral it is. I love that it looks very clean.
It's just a very good go to nail shade if
you're looking for something that's different and you want to
change it up, and if you're like me who likes
the neutral nails, I recommend doing your nails like this.

(12:01):
It feels just like very put together, which is what
I like. But you could also do colors that kind
of go with the season. So obviously, with it being
summer right now, I love pale yellow. I also love
the color like pistachio, so kind of like a sage green.
I think that's really nice as well. I also love
baby blue. Obviously, blue is like such a nice color

(12:23):
for the summer season. I also love the navy blue,
which I did navy blue nails for my Mexico trip
a few weeks back, and it was one of my
favorite nail colors I've ever done with a tan, like
I don't know, I never thought dark nails would be
good to do in the summer, but the navy blue
just really made me feel really confident, and pairing it

(12:43):
with jewelry, it just looked so I don't want to
say this, but it looked so rich, like I don't know,
it just like made me feel some type of way
with the dark deep blue nail colors, so try it out.
Those are a few colors that I recommend going into
the summer season. And let's be honest, I think everyone
and congree that we just feel so much more put
together when our nails are done, and even having a

(13:04):
matching pedicure would be elite.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
I am due for a pedicure.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
I don't like getting my pedicure done and my manicure
done in the same day because it almost takes like
two hours, and to be honest, the hour alone of
getting my nails done is already enough for me. I'm like,
I've you been sitting here for an hour. I have
stuff to do. I don't have the time to do
a whole two hour appointment. So I'm hoping that I
could get a pedicure either this week or next week,
because they desperately need to be done. But I like

(13:31):
to usually do the same color on my hands and
my feet. But everyone's been talking about the French nails
on the toes, which I haven't done yet, and I'm like,
maybe I need to pull the trigger and do that
because I see Pincher's photos and I'm like, this looks
so clean, girl, so aesthetic, just the vibe that I'm
looking for for my feet.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Even though this is like, I never ever ever.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Show my feet because I find it's so weird with
everything on social media that you see about like feet
picks and stuff. I don't know, I find it weird,
So I never show my feet, but I like to
make sure that my feet look good obviously, And I
hear everyone talking about the French nails on the toes,
so I'm like, maybe I need to jump on this trend.
But anyways, definitely recommend doing your nails and it's something
that you could do at home. I've seen so many

(14:17):
people also talk about the shellac nail polish and UV
light that you can buy from Amazon, and it's just
like way more affordable option versus going to spend xyzmout
at your nail salon to get them done. Like doing
them yourself is also so amazing to do, and there's
so many things that you could buy off Amazon that
are so affordable that can save you money and still

(14:37):
make you feel put together. Another thing that sometimes a
girl just needs to do before going into a new
season is getting their hair done. Doesn't have to be dramatic.
It could just be a trim, it could be a
different hairstyle, like maybe you're looking for layers. Maybe you
want to do the butterfly haircut where it's like bangs
and you know, different kinds of layers. Maybe you want
to cut it and do something dramatic, like go from

(14:58):
your long hairstyle to a short hairstyle, Like maybe it's
time to change it up going into a new season.
But for me, I went basic with my hair appointments.
I just went a little bit darker and I did
my typical long layers and bang trim. I would call
it the butterfly haircut. That's what I call it, and
it's what people on social media call it. But it's
like chunky layers with face framing bangs that are like

(15:21):
buy your jawline. And it's just been my go to
haircut for I don't know, like the last three years,
and I just love the way it looks when it's styled.
I don't plan on cutting my hair anytime soon. I
almost had a phase last summer where I wanted to
cut it before my wedding, which is so crazy. I
can't believe I wanted to do that before my wedding
because I love my long hair. Like I'm talking, my

(15:41):
hair is down to my belly button, and I wanted
to cut it like above my boobs, which is so
bold of me, because I don't think I've ever I mean,
that is the only time I can think that I
ever wanted to cut my hair that short. But I
had this like weird phase that I wanted to just
cut it like mid length, which I mean, hey, if
I did it, hair grows back, not the end of
the world. But I just love my long hair so much.

(16:02):
Now thinking back, I am happy I kept the length
for my wedding and for myself because I do really
love the way the long hair looks on me. But
sometimes it's good to change it up. As I said,
like it's at the end of the day, it is hair.
It is going to grow back, So trying something new
is always fun, and it allows you to feel a
bit prettier, a bit more confident, and I feel like
getting your hair done always looks so amazing, Like my

(16:25):
girl does this treatment on me and my hair is
shiny for like four weeks, and then as soon as
the shine is gone, I'm like, I need to go
back even though I shouldn't go back because it costs
so much money to do your hair, but it does
feel really good. So one thing that you could do
as like a dupe or something that could really give
you that shine and that overall look of just having
healthier hair is investing in a hair mask. There's so

(16:47):
many amazing brands out there. One hair mask that I
personally have been loving is by the brand Redkin. It's
actually the one that Madison Beer uses, I believe, and
it's like a gloss that you can put on. I
think it's like fifteen to twenty minutes after you shampoo.
You just leave it in your hair and then you
rinse it out, and it really just gives that shine
that you would see at a hair salon. It is

(17:10):
so good and it literally works wonders. It's one of
my favorite hair mass Another one that I really love
is by the brand Olaplex. I again leave it in
for like fifteen to twenty minutes, print it out, and
again gives that like really like deep moisturize healthy hair look.
I have very dry hair, so when I do a mask,
it like literally brings my hair back to life, which

(17:31):
is so refreshing, so that's kind of like a way
to give that nice overall like finished hair look like
if you don't want to spend the money on getting
a haircut, like I recommend doing hair mass or honestly
just giving yourself a good old blowout on a weekly basis,
Like I personally blow out my hair like once or
twice a week because I feel more confident when my
hair is blown out. You know, the natural hair has

(17:53):
been coming out a lot lately, as you guys know,
when I finally have a natural hair routine that I've
been loving so so I definitely think the natural hair
will be out more this summer, knowing that there's gonna
be a lot of cottage days and you know, going
swimming in the pool and all that. So I'm definitely
gonna want to bring out the natural curls more. And
I don't know why, but I feel like every husband

(18:14):
or boyfriend or man in your life will always say
that he prefers your natural hair over everything, Like Zach
loves my natural hair, which to me I was so
shocked by because I think it was so different and
so like not something I was comfortable with because it
was my natural hair.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
I don't know I.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Feel like, if you have naturally curly hair, maybe like me,
I have more like wavy hair. I would say I
always had a hard time styling it, and all of
a sudden, like when I started styling it in Mexico,
Zach was like, this is my favorite hairstyle on you.
I'm like, what the heck? It just was shocking to me.
So I feel like men just love it when you're
your natural self. I don't know if anyone else has

(18:51):
the same like situation, but Zach also always compliments me
when I'm in my pajamas or when i'm just like giving,
you know, no, my one hundred percent self. Like I'll
dress up, I'll go full out. I'll put one hundred
percent effort in my makeup and my outfit, and you know,
I'd be like, oh, yeah, you look nice like whatever.
I'll be sitting on the couch with no makeup on.
I'm pretty sure you have a stain on my sweater

(19:13):
and You'll be like, oh my god, you look so
beautiful right now, and I'm like, what the actual hack? Like,
I don't get men sometimes, but anyways, I feel like
that sometimes always the case with guys. But anyways, back
to what I was actually saying about your hair. But
you could get your hair done for the summer, as
I said, if you want to feel more confident, or
just do hair mass, whatever the case may be. Another

(19:33):
thing when it comes to glowing up for the summer
season is talking about glow up staples. So what are
some things that you could do maybe to improve your
overall style or maybe your makeup.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Investing in things that.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Could really just make you feel a little bit more
put together is always nice. So maybe it's getting a
new pair of sunglasses. Maybe it's getting a new pair
of jeans or a new pair of heels, Like I
would say for myself personally, there's trends always evolving, and
there's so many affordable options off Amazon, or you can
get the designer items whatever you know you feel most

(20:07):
comfortable spending with. But Amazon has so many great sunglasses
that you get that are a fraction of the price
of the designer ones. And I feel more put together
when I'm on top of the trends, right Like I
love getting just cute sunglasses every summer. I love getting
a new water bottle. I love finding a new pair
of shoes, Like right now, my suliments have been my

(20:27):
favorite walking shoe, whereas last summer, I would say my
favorite walking shoe was probably my Rebox platform sneakers.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
I would wear those all the time.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
So I feel like every year I'm always into something different,
and I think that's very normal with fashion trends, Like
everything comes back, everything kind of evolves. It's just kind
of the reality. So I feel like every year there's
something new that I purchase that I love for a
season and that I constantly wear. You know, for the
spring season, I was wearing my trench coat from Aritzia
like constantly. I bought that last spring, I brought it

(20:58):
into this spring. It's a staple so good. So find
little things that you can maybe purchase to make yourself
feel a bit more confident and more beautiful in yourself.
And that could be, as I said, purchasing sunglasses, getting
a new outfit. Maybe it's buying a new handbag, like
just making your self feel more put together. Getting a
matching workout set. We always love buying a new workout set.

(21:18):
I feel like that gets me motivated to get to
the gym more, aspire to have more of that healthy lifestyle,
getting outside to walk more all that, I do not
need a new workout set, but I do have two
workout sets in my shopping cart right now that I'm like,
I don't need it, but I love it and I
want it, and if I buy it, it might motivate
me to get my walks in, get more workouts in

(21:38):
all that, even though I really don't need that, but
the new feeling of a new workout.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
Set is unmatched.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
Other things that you could invest in is jewelry. I'm
a big jewelry girl, so I love wearing earrings on
my ears at all times. I love wearing my rings,
I love wearing my necklaces, my bracelets. That's just something
that I feel like a lot of people don't talk about,
is how much more put together you feel when you
wear jewelry. I think it's all about accessorizing when it
comes to outfits or anything like that. The jewelry plays

(22:06):
a huge impact on how the overall outfit looks. So,
you know, just wearing a workout set, when I put
my earrings on, my rings, on my necklaces on, I
feel like that already elevated the workout set because I
added all these beautiful jewelry pieces so whether you're a
gold girl or a silver girl, there's again so many
amazing things that you can get off Amazon. A lot
of my jewelry is honestly from Amazon, and then I

(22:28):
have invested in a few pieces from like Missouri or
Ring Concierge, and yeah, so there's other really good brands.
But I personally want to continue investing in my jewelry because,
especially gold, it's not cheap, but it does play off
in the long run because you know, when you're taking
a shower, when you're going swimming, especially in the summer season.
I hate constantly taking off my rings and my earrings

(22:51):
and you know, it being tarnish and all that. I rather,
you know, pay a little bit more money and have
everything real, and then it goes a long way with
keeping for a long time. My hoops that I wear
every single day. Zach actually got me four years ago
for Christmas and I still wear them every single day
for the past four years and they're just my go
to earrings. So it just kind of goes to show

(23:12):
that it is worth the investment when you do invest
in good quality jewelry. And then for handbags, we kind
of touched on that. I feel like right now, crochet
bags are really in or even the cute little boat bags.
I just got a boat bag for my sister that
I've been wearing constantly. It's like the perfect summer bag.
It's like a big tot that's kind of like a
canvas material. I love using it for workouts, but it

(23:33):
would be great for you know, a beach day or
bringing it to the grocery store running errands.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
It's just like the perfect bag.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
The brand is called Little Beanie Bag and I'm obsessed
with it. And then I also love the crochet bag
that I brought to Mexico. It's like a crochet clutch,
but it's got that like raffia material and it's so good.
Other little things that you could do if it makes
you feel a bit more confident is getting your eyebrows done.
I personally get my eyebrows waxed every month. You could

(24:01):
also do microblading for your brows and get them tinted.
You can get them laminated. There's so many things that
you could do now with your eyebrows to achieve that
like low maintenance effect. Everyone talks about that on social media.
The high maintenance appointments that will allow you to be
low maintenance. There's some people that do lash extensions that
allows them to have that low maintenance lifestyle by not

(24:21):
having to do their makeup every single day or put
mascara on. There's also appointments like Boattox lip filler. I
personally have lip filler. I think I've chatted about that
in a few episodes ago, but I've had lip filler
now for like four or five years.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
They're very natural.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
I'm sure some of you may be like, I didn't
even realize you had it because my lips are still
very small. But that's the point. It's supposed to look natural.
If you guys saw a photo of me from like
two thousand and twenty or when was it two thousand
and No, it would be before that twenty eighteen, maybe
you guys would have been like, you have no lips,
Like where are your lips? Like this is actually a

(24:58):
dramatic difference from what I did back then, And there's
nothing wrong with filler.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
There's nothing wrong. I feel like you do anything to
your face.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
I think it's whatever makes me feel confident, and personally,
for me, having a little bit of lip filler makes
me feel confident.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
It makes me feel good. So I usually get them
touched up.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
With like zero point five mL, like barely anything, every
like year year and a half. The last time I
got them done was for the wedding, and to be honest,
I'm kind of due, so I feel like I could
get them touched up for the summer. So that's something
that I do. I also do a little bit about
talks in my forehead. You know, your girl's twenty nine.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Do I need it?

Speaker 1 (25:35):
No, but like it just again makes me feel a
little bit more confident. And yeah, I mean it's very
normal procedures that people do now, and I'm not afraid
to talk about it because I think there's some people
that you know, don't want to talk about it. But
I feel confident enough to say that, you know, I
do these things because they make me feel good. I
feel more confident in myself by doing it. And yeah,

(25:56):
it's something that I think is very normal now that
people do, and I think it's a OK to be
open about it. Now, Let's talk about some things that
I've invested in that I think is worth the hype,
because let's be honest, there is a lot of things
that are being promoted through social media and people are saying,
oh my god, like this is so worth it. Like

(26:18):
some of these things are not actually worth it. One
of them being, I'm going to be straight up right here,
that I don't think is worth your money is the
coconut cult. I personally did not see any benefits from it.
I actually got a stomach ache from taking it. I
stopped taking it immediately. It's expensive, and I also have
some dairy intake issues, so I just didn't think it

(26:39):
was settling well with my skin. I mean, there is
some people that rave about it and say amazing things
about it. Again, do what works for you, But for me,
that one didn't personally work for me. So I don't
think it's worth your money. But again, if it works
for you, that's great, seems gel. I do think it's
actually making a difference in my skin because lately I've

(26:59):
been doing a few things for my skin, one of
them being taking seams shell every single morning. I've been
doing the infrared sauna workouts, which is great for your skin,
two to three times a week, along with this metacube
toner that I recently bought. It's like toner pads, And
I'm telling you right now, this is the best my
skin has ever looked. And those are the three things
that I can think of that I have changed in

(27:21):
my routine that have really just helped my roseatia. I
have rosetia, so I get really irritated red skin, and
I have very sensitive skin, so sometimes when I try
a new skin product out, it does sometimes react, so
I have to be very careful with what I use.
But those three things, I feel like I've made a
huge difference in my skin, and I actually feel like

(27:42):
it's the best my skin has ever looked. Even better
from my wedding. I feel like my wedding I was
doing facials once every six or eight weeks, which you know,
my skin looked good, but I would say this is
the best my skin has ever looked. And I think
it's because I'm actually being consistent with these things and
seeing a lot of benefits with TA. So speaking about skin,
let's also talk about the red Light Therapy mask. I

(28:05):
am gonna say it's a when I personally love it.
I think the red Light Therapy mask has really helped
my roseation as well as my dry skin. I will
rave about this product. It is quite costly, but I
don't think there's really a dupe to the red light
therapy mask, unfortunately, but in order to maybe invest in
your skincare more, I think using face masks like weekly

(28:27):
is really really crucial. One face mask in particular that
I've been really liking actually is the one Bi Kadali.
They have this clay mask that you could do like
three times a week if you wanted to. And I
feel like that mask has also been really great for
your pores and just the overall like clarity of your skin,
if that makes sense. I feel like it really brightens

(28:48):
up my skin when I use the mask, So that
could be something that's a bit more affordable versus, you know,
splurging on the red light therapy mask. There is actually
a new mask that just came out. It's called these
Led face mask. It literally looks insane. First off, it's
like way more intense than the typical therapy mask. There's

(29:09):
like a massage 'er in it. I think for your
to like deepop your eyes or something.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
It is literally insane looking. I was really shocked that
that's what it looked like. But people are using it,
people are loving it. Another way actually to help your
skincare out is the New Face, which is essentially an
electric Guasha where you're able to like sculpt at your face. Again,
I think this is worth it. I used it religiously

(29:35):
every single morning before my wedding. Now I probably do
it like two to three times a week. I wouldn't
say I do it every single day, but I do
think it's really helped with just that, like defining jawline,
defining like cheekbones, all that. So I personally love it.
But a dupe to this would be a Guasha tool,
which is like literally fifteen to twenty dollars on Amazon

(29:55):
doing the same technique, you know, doing the jawline, doing
the contour area. If you're consistent with Guasha, you will
see results. So I would say those are kind of
like the alternatives to the expensive, high quality facial tools
that I'm referencing. But I would say all those things
truly did make a huge difference in my skincare. Another
thing which you guys know I worry about all the

(30:16):
time is my walking pad. This has been the best
investment to do just for getting my steps in. I
made it a goal this month to up my step count,
and I've been really trying to increase my step count
by using my walking pad at around lunchtime, get some
work done at the same time by editing stuff on
my computer or on my phone, And it's honestly just

(30:37):
been a huge game changer, especially when the weather isn't
that great. So if it's raining outside or if it's snowing,
I'm able to get my steps in while using the
walking pad. And there's not really a dupe to this,
but getting yourself outside and walking more is really the
only thing that I could recommend, or a treadmill if
you have a treadmill in your house, but it's a
walking pad and a treadmill is literally the same thing.

(30:57):
But just trying to reference some things that are a
bit more of a dupe to these more expensive things.
The walking pad I think was around like three hundred dollars,
so it is quite costly. But what I love about
it is that it is a foldable walking pad that
you can just like tuck away, don't have to have
it out in the open in my home. I can
just kind of use it wherever I want, and I

(31:19):
could watch a freaking movie at the same time if
I wanted to.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
That's what I love about it.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Another thing that I think is worth the hype is
investing in a gym membership. I think everyone can agree
getting out of the house is probably the best thing
to do when you really want to focus and feel
motivated to get a workout done. I did do at
home workouts for the longest time, I would say for.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
Like two to three years.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
During COVID was really when I started to invest in
my overall health and start doing online workouts from home.
But I will say that I if I compare my
performance and my focus level of working out from at
home versus being in a actual studio with a workout class,
I'm going to tell you now I'm more focused in

(32:01):
the workout class than I was back home. So of
course working out at home is great. It's the best
affordable option. There's subscriptions that you can get like form
Form has actually been a really great one for me,
which is by the Sammy's Sammy Clark. I love the Sammy's,
They're so sweet. Anyways, their platform is amazing for someone
that's looking for and that home workout that's a bit

(32:21):
more affordable. I think the subscription to using it is
like I think it's like one hundred bucks for the year,
which is literally nothing compared to gym memberships. The average
gym membership, I would say, is like, what one hundred
dollars a month? One hundred and fifty dollars a month.
I mean, pilates is absurd. I'm going to tell you
right now. I pay way too much for my Plate studio.

(32:42):
But I love Plates and I just shut my eyes
when it comes out to my bank account. But I
personally love investing in it because it really has changed
my body. It's changed my life. I find it's the
best movement for my body specifically, but low impact workouts
have been just my kind of workout. But I think
investing in it has been the most life changing thing

(33:03):
for me because I feel so much more motivated. I
feel so much more focused. I enjoy getting out of
the house. I have friends through my pilates classes. Now.
I recently got a membership at Oxygen, which I've been
loving so all in all, I think getting a gym
membership is one hundred percent worth the hype. This next
one is kind of random, but I do think it's
made a huge difference.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
Is my dice in air wrap?

Speaker 1 (33:23):
I actually don't know what I would do without my
dice In Air, rap like it has really changed the game.
When it comes to blow drying my hair. I feel
like it's fast drying, minimizes heat damage. It's great for
styling your hair effortlessly. I personally don't find I'm the
best at styling my hair when it comes to just
a normal blow dryer and a round brush. I was
never able to get that blowout look with a normal

(33:45):
blow dryer. So when I invested in the dic In,
I feel like it actually gave that blowout look. And
just the fact that there's so many tools involved with
the dice In, it just allows you to style your
hair in so many different ways, and it just makes
it so much easier, Whereas, if you know, I use
a regular blow dryer, I wouldn't be able to achieve
the look that I wanted to achieve. My sister ended
up getting the Shark, which is kind of the dupe

(34:07):
to the dice In one. It's still, you know, a
bit pricier, but it's still half the price of the
dice In, and my sister loves it same technique, it
has different attachments and it gives that same overall blowout look.
So she loves it. She's so happy that she actually
invested in it because it's been a complete game changer
for her hair.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
And I've been telling her this for years.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
I'm like, bro, you need to invest in your hair
tool because it will change your life. Like she was
buying so many random things off Amazon. She was like, Okay,
I'm going to try the thermal brush. Okay, I'm going
to try the Revlon brush. Okay, I'm going to try this.
I'm like, trust me, get the Shark or get the
Dcon and it will change your life. She finally listened
to me, and it's changed her life, and I'm like,
you're welcome.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
Thank me later.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
So anyways, it could be a good gift just to
think about, maybe for Christmas if you don't have, you know,
the funds to financially get it right now.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
But it's something to think.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
About because I do think it will be a long
lasting tool and it's worth the investment. I've had my
Dyson now for almost five years to put in the
grand scheme of things, and.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
I love her so much and.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
She's still working and yeah, anyways, I love it so
much and I use it literally every single week. Other
things that I have invested in would be supplements, and
I think the two supplements that I've been taking consistently
that I do think work are the natural fal hair
vitamins or hair supplements for hair growth. I have started
to notice a big difference. I've mentioned that before, just

(35:33):
a lot of d shedding, a lot of growth coming
in on my scalp, which is really reassuring. Overall, I
think if you take supplements consistently, you will see results.
Another supplement that I started recently taking is Array. They
have a d bloat supplement and I really wasn't sure
if it was going to work, to be honest, but
I got it recently in a PR package. And when

(35:54):
I consume too much dairy, I think a lot of
people can agree to this if they have dairy sensitivity.
Like me, I get really really bloated, and I'm like, hey,
I need to take something to make me feel skinny again,
you know what I mean. So I took it and
the next morning, I'm not even joking, it was insane. Anyways,
Like a few hours later, the bloating was completely gone,

(36:16):
and I was literally shocked because I've never seen a
supplement work so well to be honest. So the brand's
called Array. I only take it whenever I'm feeling really
bloated from again consuming dairy or whatever the case may be.
But oh my god, guys, the most wholesome thing. My
neighbor is just running by me right now while I'm
recording this episode, and she literally told me that she's

(36:38):
been really wanting to get into running again and she
invested in running shoes. She was asking me about running
shoes I have. So the fact I'm recording this episode
and I just saw her running, that just made me
so happy. Anyways, go her look at her achieving her goals.
That was literally so wholesome. Anyways, as I was saying,
this bloating supplement really did work, and it's definitely something
that I take the odd time when I feel like

(36:59):
I need it. And it's nice to know that there's
options out there like that that can help with situations
like that when it comes to bloating. But a few
other things that people talk about that I think are
game changers that I personally need to get into my
routine consistently, one of them being collagen, whether I'm taking
a pill or some type of powder that I can

(37:19):
include into my coffee or my smoothies, whatever the case
may be. I need to get a collagen powder because
I do think if you're consistent with that, you are
going to see really good results from that, along with
a probiotic or a tripiotic or prebiotic. I have a few, honestly,
but I just feel like some of them don't always
work well with my stomach. So I just need to
figure out maybe an ingredient that my stomach is not

(37:43):
sitting well with in those probiotics and probiotics. That way,
when I can purchase the right one, it will be
worth the investment. So anyways, moral story is that some
supplements I do think are worth it. Some are the
placebo like I don't really love the Lemmy ones. I
think the only one that I personally find that works
really well is the Lemmy sleep. I really find those

(38:04):
ones work. The Lemme z Blow I didn't really find work,
Like the array one worked really well. What other Lemmy one.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
Have I tried.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
I've tried the Glow Nails and Skin one. I can't
remember because it was like two years ago, but I
don't know if that fully worked or not. But I
will say that some of the lemmy products work. Some
of them don't. There's some like let me focus all that,
I haven't tried those to be honest, so I can't
give my honest opinion on that. But I know there's
always going to be a hit and miss with supplements.

(38:32):
But those are the ones I've been taking, the ones
that I've said, and ones that I personally think are
worth it. So those are things that I personally think
are worth investing in for the summer season. Just a
few things that I think are worth your money and
just some things that I'm doing to make myself feel
a bit more confident, a bit more beautiful for the
summer season. But I hope you guys enjoyed this episode.
