Speaker 1 (00:13):
Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
Hawkgirl Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kaylie, and this is
your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
a new mindset, and another day I for you become
the hawk Girl energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
Happy Wednesday, Welcome back to another episode. I am actually
recording this episode today because I decided to do vlog
(00:37):
week this week for Instagram and TikTok and anyways, usually
when I decide to challenge myself when it comes to
like filming every day, sometimes I find it really difficult
to manage other parts of my job because it can
get a little overwhelming. But that's okay. We're still getting
an episode up, which is all that matters. I hope
you guys are having an amazing week so far. A
(00:58):
little bit of a house update, and I have talked
about it in the previous episodes, but we are currently
in the process of getting our backyard done and I'm
so obsessed with how things are turning out. We decided
to do a deck over patio stone just because financially,
the patiostones were just going to cost way too much.
(01:18):
We got quoted and it was just literally astronomical. I
think I talked about it in the last episode, to
be honest. So we have decided to do a deck,
and my dad and Zach started building it this weekend
and we just have the foundation done right now, so
hopefully this long weekend. I can't believe we're already on
May Long weekend, but looks like Zach is probably going
to focus on getting that done, hopefully this weekend. I
(01:41):
don't know if it'll be fully done, but I do
think majority of it will be done. I think the
only thing that we'll have to do is probably just
finish the final touches along with staining it. So I'm
really excited to have that part done because he's kind
of taking obviously control of this part because I am
not much help when it comes to building a deck,
but I know I'm going to be a huge part
(02:02):
when it comes to the decor and the decorating and
all that. So that's kind of like when I come
into play and I ordered some backyard furniture, which I'm
really excited about, just like a sectional, a fireplace, a barbecue.
I haven't found a dining set yet that I love,
so I'm still on the hunt for that. I feel
like I just want to start out with the couch,
(02:24):
the fireplace, and the barbecue and just kind of see
like the color scheme that we're going with, and then
from there I'll start trying to find something for a
dining set for the space. But I also just want
to get an idea of how much space the couch
and barbecue like take up on the deck before I
get a dining set, because obviously I could get a
(02:44):
small dining set, I could get a big dining set.
I just like need to kind of understand the spacing
of the deck once it's all done and we start
to add pieces to it. So that's kind of like
what's been on my main priority right now. I feel
like we've been definitely putting other projects to the side,
And Zach and I were like laughing about it last
night because I think just because we're both ADHD, I
(03:05):
have no idea, but we are that kind of people
where we start a project and then we don't ever
finish it. And one of them being obviously like our bedroom,
like we moved everything over to the window, which we
love and it looks so good, but we have like
a mirror that needs to be hung up, we have
a piece of artwork that still needs to be hung up,
we have some picture frames. So I'm just like, this
(03:27):
is just the reality, Like we do this, and obviously
going into summer, we really wanted the backyard done, so
we're like, okay, let's put the bedroom on pause, focus
on the backyard. And then obviously we wanted to work
on the podcast studio this year, which has been delayed
because of this company with the chairs, Like it's taken
way longer than it's you know, supposed to. So I've
been really just following up with them trying to figure out, Okay,
(03:49):
when is this going to get shipped, because like, obviously
like I need them, and I at this point, like
I want my bunny back if it's going to continue
to take this long. So anyways, I'm just basically waiting
for the chairs and then Zach and I can paint
the podcast room. So our goal is to have our
whole backyard done before the end of the month, which
I do think is realistic, but we shall see, and
(04:10):
then hopefully in June we can start up the podcast
room and then just finish the other touches in our bedroom,
and then the house I think is almost done, which
is quite exciting. The only other thing we have to
do is add shelves in our living room, which is
what we wanted to do. But other than that, I
feel like the house will definitely be close to being
fully done in this episode. This week, I really want
(04:31):
to talk about game changers for the summer season, because
obviously a lot of the episodes we've been talking about
has really been just prepping for summer. I personally think
that Spring is just not even existing at this point,
Like I feel like I just kind of jumped into summer, because,
in my opinion, as soon as May first starts, my
mindset is completely summer. Like I'm not thinking about spring.
(04:53):
The only time I'm thinking about spring is usually like
March April. So although it is technically still spring and
summer doesn't hit until June, I am mentally in the
summer mindset and I'm just focusing on things I can
do to really just have the best summer yet. So
we still have a lot of exciting episodes like the
Summer mood Board, the Summer bucket List, all that that
(05:14):
we're going to touch in the next few episodes. So anyways,
I think these game changers are going to be huge
for you. They have definitely impacted me, and it's something
that I've tried to include into my daily routine, and
it's new things that I've tried. It's things that I've
been doing for years that I swear by, and I
figured I would share it with you guys. I'm going
to share with one of the most recent things that
(05:35):
I've included into my routine that I truly think has
been a huge game changer, and that is investing in
Korean skincare. When I tell you that the Korean skincare
hype is worth it, it is one hundred percent worth it.
I've seen so many TikTokers rave about just certain brands
and certain products, and a lot of them are actually
found on Amazon. It's very easy to purchase them. You know.
(05:58):
I've definitely seen influencers who go to Korea or go
to Japan. They go to you know, the pharmacies there,
stock up on all the skincare products, face masks, you
name it, and bring it back. But a lot of
the Korean skincare brands you can actually find on Amazon,
which is very convenient. One brand that I recently came
across that I really really like is called Metacube, and
(06:19):
I recently just purchased the Toner pads and they have
literally changed my face. I'm not even over exaggerating like
I am obsessed with them. I think I talked about
this actually in the last episode about how there was
three things that I changed in my skincare routine, which was,
you know, being in the Infred SNA a bit more,
using the toner pads, and then getting a facial So
(06:42):
those three things I feel like really helped my skin
last week. But the toner pads I've been using now
for over a month, and what a difference it's made
to my face. It's definitely brightened my face, has definitely
reduced my pores, and all in all, it just really
gives that like glow that you see in the morning
that you may see some influencers you know, talk about
(07:03):
is just like how their skin looks really glowy and dewey.
And I think, honestly, I just needed to add a
toner into my skincare routine and that's what changed the game.
So the product I'm talking about, I will put an
LTK link that way you guys can see the product
that I'm referencing, but I'm obsessed with it. It has
completely changed my skin. I just ordered a oil cleanser
from a brand I think it's called I want to
(07:26):
say Aura, and again it's off Amazon. It's another Korean
skincare brand. This brand actually is recommended by a lot
of influencers, the Aura brand. They also have a toner
as well that you could try out, and then moisturizers
all that. But the brand's called Aura and I just
got the oil facial cleanser. I've actually used it a
few times and I really really like it and going
(07:48):
into the next game. Changer that I feel like has
made a huge difference is double cleansing. I was not
double cleansing. I'm not gonna lie. I was just cleansing once.
And the amount of makeup that I think was probably
still left on my face that was creating my breakouts,
probably the enlarge pores on my face all that. Like
my facialist that I went to a few weeks ago,
(08:08):
she's like, you need to be double cleansing, and I said, okay,
I'm going to add this into my routine. My sister
also was like very much into skincare and she was like, no,
you need to be double cleansing. I'm like, okay, So
I started to double cleanse, and I feel like that's
made a huge difference as well. So that's something that
I've kind of continued into my routine and I feel
like it's been really really beneficial for my skin. Another
(08:29):
game changer that I feel like has been a huge
impact into my daily routine that I've actually been doing
now for I want to say, like the past five
to six years is following the eighty twenty rule when
it comes to eating. I've been eating healthy foods now
for I want to say, five to six years. And
when you follow a healthy lifestyle for a long period
of time, eventually your body doesn't really crave those things
(08:51):
that you used to crave. So, you know, back in
the day, I would love to eat a bag of chips.
I'm not even kidding. Like my obsession was like sweet chili,
heat rbecue chips, you know, Doritos, free Doos, ruffles, you
name it. Like I had an addiction to just eating chips.
And over time, once I started to find like healthy
substitutes or just like finding ways to like cut that out,
(09:14):
of my lifestyle, it became a lot easier, and then
my body didn't crave for those foods anymore. So it's
important to just kind of really find ways to adapt
to changing into eating different things. And maybe that's finding
things that might be similar, So finding healthier alternatives to chips,
Like maybe a replacement could be popcorn. Like if you
really like to snack on things like popcorn is a
(09:37):
lower calorie option, it's a bit better for you, Like
you can find ingredients that are ten times better in
popcorn versus a beg of chips. So now there's been
so many great alternatives that have been offered to replace chips.
But that's just a very like vague example. So what
the eighty twenty rule means is that eighty percent of
the meals that I eat are healthy and then twenty
(09:58):
percent of it is indulging in other snacks or sweet
So every single morning I usually have a pretty stalked
up breakfast. I usually have greek yogurt or turkey bacon
or bagels, and I always make sure there's a protein,
a carb in some type of fiber. So you know
the fruits I'm getting, my fiber in the protein is
usually either Greek yogurt or turkey bacon, and then the
(10:19):
carb is either gonna be you know, the bagels or
sour doughe bread, whatever. The carb is. Same thing with lunch,
you know, chicken, sweet potato, vegetables. I'm getting my protein in,
I'm getting my carbs in, I'm getting my vegetables or
fiber in. So that's kind of how I structure out
each meal. And then of course I have a sweet tooth,
so every night I always end my night off with
some chocolate. And that is kind of like how I
(10:41):
follow the eighty twenty rule. And as I said, like
you're still allowed to indulge in the things that like
you love and that brings you happiness. And maybe one
night I'm gonna go to Dairy Queen and get an
ice cream cone because I'm craving one and I'm wanting
that sweet tooth and i want to indulge and have
a night myself and just enjoy a Dairy Queen ice cream.
(11:02):
So that's kind of why I followed the eighty twenty rule,
because you know, I can still treat myself, but it's
not something that I'm always creaming all the time, where
I'm eating unhealthy all the time, and I think it's
like a very easy rule to implement into your daily routine.
So if you're not following the eighty twenty rule, I
highly recommend it because it's changed my life and it's
(11:23):
made eating healthy a lot more enjoyable knowing that you
can still indulge in treat yourself. Another thing that's been
a game changer for my routine is habit stacking. I've
talked about this a lot on the podcast, but that's
being able to do two things at once. So whether
it's going on a hawk Girl walk listening to a
podcast at the same time, it could also be going
(11:43):
on a hawk Girl walk and listening to like a meditation.
If you want to be able to practice your breathing
and doing breathing exercises, you could do both of those
things at the same time. You can also work while
walking on your treadmill, so you're able to track your
steps on top of getting work done at the same time,
So you're doing two things at once and personally, habit
stacking has been a game changer for me. This is
(12:03):
actually something that I introduced to Zach because Zach has
been struggling to like just get two things done at once,
and I said, hey, let's try and do this, implement
this into your work lifestyle. And he's like, okay, like
this is really like really inspiring to listen to from you,
and I'm like perfect. So he just he never really
understood what habit stacking meant. So I explained it to him,
(12:24):
and now he's implemented it into his work environment. So
that's probably one thing that I feel like has really
changed the game, you know, especially right now for me
because I am trying to track my steps this month,
which has been so amazing. I feel like I've been
really good at getting over ten thousand steps a day,
but it has been very difficult to get to fifteen
thousand every single day. But I'm not trying to push
(12:46):
myself or not trying to like be too hard on
myself in the days where I don't because I am
tracking on my iPhone and it's not exactly the most
accurate way of tracking your steps. I do want to
get some type of like a I might honestly just
get the fit bit to be honest, which I don't
like the way the watches look like no one take
that offense. I just like don't really like the idea
(13:07):
of wearing a watch constantly. I love the orr ring,
but a lot of you guys said that because I
do have anxiety when it comes to just certain things.
They said it might trigger it because you're so like
hyper focused on everything when it comes to the or ring,
because it really does show everything, your heart rate, you know,
the calories, everything. So everyone's like it might not be
(13:29):
for you because you see so much information. So that
kind of makes me steer away from the orr ring
because it might be too detailed. However, I do want
something that's going to track my cycle because I don't
have anything currently, and eventually, like when Zach and I
do want to start trying, I'm like, I want to
be able to know when I'm ovulating, when I'm in
my luteal phase, when I'm getting my period, all that.
(13:50):
Like I kind of know when I get my period
based off of just like you know, oh, it's the
second week of every month or whatever it is, right,
So anyways, I'm pretty good at remembering. It's just more
so it would be beneficial to track like the other
things when it comes to like trying to conceive, so Anyways,
right now, I might just get like the I think
it's like sixty bucks off Amazon. It's just a fitbit
(14:11):
just to track, and I'm gonna be honest, I think
I might wear it on my ankle versus my wrist
because I just don't like the way it looks, and
because I wear workout clothes all the time, I feel
like it's gonna be like very subtle just to kind
of like wear it around the ankle. So if you
see a fitbit on my ankle next week, you know why.
(14:32):
As I said, like being able to work while walking
on the treadmill has been a game changer, and just
like habit stacking in general has really been the key
thing for me when it comes to including it into
my daily routine. Another thing is, I feel like I've
never actually talked about this before, but because I have
so much hair, I don't always love doing a big
hair wash day every single week. Like sometimes it can
(14:54):
be a lot, and sometimes I also don't have the
time to wash my hair and blow dry it for
like an hour and a half. And you know, sometimes
I've been doing it at night, which has been a
little bit easier, and it doesn't like impact my day.
But if I want my hair to look good and
I don't want to go through the effort of washing
my entire head, I will literally just wash the top
of my head, like I'll just wash the roots, and
(15:15):
I'll put my hair in the sink. I'll get my shampoo,
I'll wash the roots, I'll wash my bangs. Usually it's
like the halfway part. I would say, so like you know,
when you put your hair up, like half up, half down,
I would say, like half of it would go in
the sink and I would wash it, and then literally
just the bottom part stays out. It reduces the time
by half underneath. I don't really care what my hair
looks like, nobody can really see it. And then by
(15:36):
only washing my roots, my hair literally looks amazing for
at least an additional two days and I can get
away with it and then wash my entire head on
the weekend. So that's kind of what I've been doing,
especially for like people who you know who work out
lots and you know, might get sweaty a lot, and
they don't want to go through the effort of washing
their entire head. That's just like something that I do
(15:58):
that's a quick game change or that you can do.
I've also been doing my natural hair more, as you
guys know, which has sped up the process a lot
by not having to blow out my hair every single week.
So just washing it using you know, a curl cream
and then some moose and I just let it air
dry and then it comes out really naturally wavy and curly.
(16:18):
And as you guys know, I've been really trying to
embrace my natural hair, so it's been nice to like
save time by not having to go through a whole
blowout routine. Now, I have been doing heated workouts lately,
which has definitely played an impact in my hair washing routine.
So now I've been starting to book my workout classes
around my hair wash schedule. So I'm like, Okay, if
(16:39):
I do a heated matt class on Monday, I can
wash my hair, you know, that night or Tuesday morning,
and then if I do a heated workout class on Thursday,
I can wash my hair either Thursday night or Friday morning,
and then it's good for the weekend. So I'm now
starting to base my heated workout classes around that. But
for example, like my sister, she's been doing it a
lot more than me, just because you know, I do Soma,
(17:01):
which is the reformer plates, and then Madison she doesn't,
so she just does oxygen. So my sister has been
trying to research ways on how to, you know, maintain
your hair during a heated class, and there was two
things they recommended. Obviously, there's dry shampoo, which works for
some people. But there's a new thing that came out.
I think it's by the brand Bumble Bumble, and it's
(17:22):
like a hair mist that essentially just like removes the
oil from the roots. And it's essentially like dry shampoo,
but it doesn't give that like white residue. You know,
like when you spray dry shampoo and it's like white
everywhere and you have to like absorb it in all that.
This is like a clear spray and you blow dry
it and it literally looks like you just gave yourself
(17:43):
a blowout, so it looks really good. I've been wanting
to try it. I don't have it currently, but the
reviews that I've seen on TikTok have been really good.
It's from Sephora, and as I said, I think it's
called the Bumble Bumble like dry shampoo missed or something
like that. I'll try and the exact one on my LTK.
But anyways, I hear amazing things about it and I've
(18:03):
been wanting to try it out. So if you're that
kind of person that loves heated workouts but you're having
a hard time managing your hair wash schedule, that might
be something worth looking into and it might be a
game changer for your hair wash routine. Another thing when
it comes to hair that I will say as a
game changer is knowing that we have the slick back looks,
So doing slick back ponytails, slick back buns. I'll also
(18:24):
do like slick back half up, half down if I
want to. If I'm having a greasy hair day, I'm
gonna be doing my hair in a slick back ponytail,
not gonna lie Like I feel so put together with
a high pony tail. I feel like it's just giving
myself a facelift, honestly, Like it's like one of my
favorite hairstyles on me, and I feel like that's just
something I always resort to. And I also love using
(18:46):
the like hair wax stick. So there's a brand called
Nexus that has a good one that I've been using
Emmy j called their Angel stick. I use that all
the time for my slick back looks. I find that
just really like finishes off the ponytail and it just
kind of fixes any like baby hairs or any bumps
that you might have in your hair from doing a
slick back look. So that to me has always been
(19:08):
a game changer in my routine and I will forever
stick to it. I do not care if it's going
to create bald spots and my scalp. I will figure
out a way to grow the hair back, but no
slickback looks I will never stop doing, just because I
do find it looks very put together and it's just
such an easy way to, you know, make yourself look
good when you're having you know, dirty hair and want
to look put together. Another thing when it comes to
(19:31):
healthy meals, when it comes to just a game changer
is homemade meals. So I feel like prepping has been
a game changer for me, and I've been prepping food
either on Sunday or Monday. And one thing that I've
been making consistently lately has been the high protein bagels.
Oh my god, guys, you need to try these. It
is literally so good. I've heard a lot of you
(19:52):
guys actually try it with cottage cheese versus Greek yogurt,
So I'm going to try that maybe next week in
the recipe versus Greek yogurt. But I person I love
the Greek yogurt. It's a great way to get protein in.
It tastes literally so good. It literally tastes like bread.
And I've been trying different toppings out, so I've done
everything bagel seasoning. I recently just tried the Jlapino cheddar, which,
(20:12):
oh my god, guys, you need to try the Jilipino
cheddar insane. If you like spice, you're gonna love it.
And it's literally a little bit of cheese, which again
you're getting extra protein in, and then chopping up your
jilapino very very thin and just putting a layer of
it on top. I just put it in my toaster
and add a little bit of butter on top, and
it's literally perfect every single time. And I think this
(20:34):
week I'm gonna make cinnamon raisin bagels. I'm gonna try
that out, and probably more Helipino cheddar, just because it
turned out so good. But this is my new era
and I'm obsessed with it. I love these bagels. This
has been around for I don't know, like a few years.
I think people started to really talk about it last year.
But this is new to me and I'm obsessed with
it and I don't want to stop making them. So
(20:55):
it's been my new favorite thing. And it's so easy.
I am not a baker guy. It is literally the
easiest thing to do, and I just love having them
already prepped and then in the morning it's just been
really easy to figure out what I'm going to have
for breakfast. And I like that I can either, you know,
pair it with something sweet, like you know, a Greek
yogroup bowl or just a side of fruit, or I
could make a bagel sandwich out of it, or you know,
(21:18):
I don't know. You have the option of doing savory
or sweet with having the bagels. And if you want
to do you know, a sweet bagel, as I said,
you could do cinnamon raisin, you could do blueberry, and
if you wanted to do it savory, you could do
the everything bagel seasoning or the halopino cheddar like. It
really just depends on what you want to do. But anyways,
the bagels are a game changer and I love it.
And then I've also been getting back into juicing, which
(21:39):
was one of my goals for May, and I just
love juicing so much. And I made my green juice
this week. Tastes amazing. It lasts up to like four
to five days, I believe. And yeah, I've been just
trying to stay consistent with making bagels and green juices
every single week. And another thing I've been wanting to
do is be better at making homemade desserve. So we
(22:01):
tried out the Ninja creamy. It worked out really well,
to be honest. We tried out a new protein powder
and we use the fair Life chocolate milk and the
I think it's the Jello chocolate mix in order to
make it thick. Turned out amazing. The only thing is
is that I personally find it's a lot of ice
cream for one serving, Like I couldn't finish it, Like
(22:23):
I put it in the freezer and I have it
the next day, which is fine, But I don't know,
I have this weird thing with ice cream, Like I
don't know if it's just because I have yogurt in
the morning, but I don't crave ice cream every single night.
So I like the Ninja creamy. It's just like, I
don't know, some nights, I'm just like not really craving it.
I'd rather like a piece of chocolate versus eating chocolate
ice cream. So another thing that I've been wanting to
(22:45):
try that creates that like piece of chocolate kind of
like substitution would be the date squares. I'm not sure
if you guys have seen this. It's a bunch of dates,
you roll them out, you then spread almond butter on top,
and you melt either semi sweet or milk or dark
chocolate and you put it on top. You put it
(23:05):
in the freezer, and you add sea salt on top,
and apparently it's really really good. So that's something that
I've been wanting to try out. But I'm all about
trying different things when it comes to anything, to be honest,
and desserts is just something that I've been wanting to
prep as well. So anyways, making your homemade meals is
definitely a game changer and makes it a little bit
(23:26):
easier going into the week, especially if you're that kind
of person that loves to meal prep. So if you
like to, you know, cook chicken, or beef or sweet
potato for your lunch. That way, it's easy for you
to bring to work, like highly highly recommend doing that.
I'm the kind of person where I don't like eating
the same thing every single day. But you know, I
could prep chicken breasts on the Monday and then have
it for the rest of the week by you know,
(23:48):
doing different recipes. So I could do chicken salads, I
could do chicken wraps, you know, just chicken with rice.
So just prepping your proteins is also a huge game
changer by including it into different restles for your lunches
or dinners for the week. Another thing that I saw,
actually someone talk about on TikTok was using your leftover
coffee from the day before and turning it into ice
(24:11):
cubes for the following day. So let's say you don't
drink all of your coffee on the Monday, you put
it in an ice tray, leave it overnight in the freezer,
and then on Tuesday when you wake up, if you
don't want your coffee to get watery, if you do
an iced coffee every single morning, you just take the
coffee ice cubes that you made and you put it
into your coffee and then your coffee tastes less watery.
(24:34):
I thought that was a game changer. I haven't tried
it yet, but that's something that I've been wanting to try,
and I recently came across it on TikTok and I'm like,
that makes so much sense because that's the one thing
I hate when I'm drinking my coffee and then by
the end it's like a watery coffee. Well, it's going
to taste better at an ice cube the next morning,
knowing that it's not just water, there's a bit of
coffee in it. So anyways, I think that's a game
(24:57):
changer for your coffee routine. Another thing when it comes
to gut health is talking about what you're putting inside
your body. So of course, you know, I've talked a
lot about my skin and just how I feel like
investing in different skincare has been a really huge factor,
along with you know, getting a facial. One thing that
I also think plays a huge impact is my gut
(25:18):
So what am I putting inside to help my skin?
So one thing I've been really wanting to do is
get into taking magnesium consistently along with taking collagen. Those
are two supplements that I'm not currently taking, but I
hear amazing things when you're actually consistent with it. So
collagen is something that I think is so easy to
(25:38):
include in your coffee recipe or maybe your daily smoothie recipe.
I could probably honestly even add it to my yogurt
bowls in the morning, but I'm not gonna lie. I
haven't found a brand that I've been sticking to because
I feel like the ones that I've tried you can
actually taste the collagen, which I don't want. So I'm
calling all my girlies out here. If you are someone
(26:00):
that takes collagen consistently, please send us a DM. I
would love to know what brand you're using or one
that you swear by, because it's something that I've been
really wanting to get into and potentially just add to
my coffees in the morning or my Greek yogurt bulls,
because I do think taking supplements for your skin is
definitely going to be beneficial. So collagen is something that
(26:21):
I've been wanting to consistently get into. Magnesium is something
that I've been wanting to get into, but also I
take a probiotic and prebiotic by the brand Array, which
I'm sure you guys have heard. I also think I
talked about their bloating pills that I took that I'm
obsessed with. Oh my god, that bloating pill has changed
my life. I'm not even overexaggerating. It just helps so
(26:43):
much with any inflammation that you might have from eating
certain foods. So for me, my body does not like dairy,
and I know that, but I continuously eat dairy, even
lactose free. My body doesn't like it, So when I
eat too much dairy, I will have one of the
deep bloat pills. The supplements, I'll take it at night,
I'll wake up the next morning and literally it changes
(27:06):
my body. I'm not even over exaggerating, like it is
such a good supplement. You don't need to take it
every single day, but whenever you are having you know,
either if your body is not used to gluten and
you kind of get inflammation from eating gluten, then you
know you can resort to using these supplements. But I
love it. Again, always talk to your doctor. I don't
want to tell you guys to buy these things. Obviously,
(27:29):
do your own research as well, but I've done my
own research. I personally love it and I find it's
been a game changer. But taking up prebiotic and probiotic
is also great for your overall gut health and yeah,
definitely helps with how your skin looks, how you feel
energy wise. All that, the last two things that I'll
talk about when it comes to game changers, one of
(27:49):
them being the multitask motivation. I've talked about this before,
but I have a very hard time focusing when it
comes to getting certain tasks done when it comes to
work or things in my house, and one thing that
I find always helps me is I create distractions, like
outside distractions of when I'm trying to stay focused on something.
I know that kind of sounds crazy, but I feel
(28:11):
like I'm more productive when there's background noise. So, you know,
when I'm cleaning my house, I like to put a
podcast on or listen to music. When I'm getting work done,
I like to put a YouTube video on. And I
don't know, I just feel like it's something that motivates
me to stay focused but also makes it fun in
a way by still being able to have that like
outdoor noise. And I don't know, it's kind of like
(28:34):
when I talked about habit stacking. If you don't like running,
then creating a fun playlist or listening to a good
podcast might motivate you to actually get out and go
for that run. Or if you hate walking on a treadmill,
then maybe putting on a YouTube video or again watching
a podcast could be beneficial for you to get that
(28:54):
task done that you wanted to get done. But it
allows something fun at the same time. So it kind
of goes with the habits stagging in a way. But
it really does help me stay focused. To be honest,
and this might not work for everyone, but if you're
the kind of person like me that might have a
hard time focusing, I feel like multitasking has been a
game changer. Sorry I lied, Now we have two more.
(29:15):
Another game changer has been my six am morning routine.
So actually consistently waking up at six am every single
morning has completely changed my life. I'm more productive, I
get way more done in the day. I feel like
the Hatch alarm clock has a lot to do with that.
I'm sure you guys have heard of it. Hatch is
an amazing brand. The alarm clock is pricey. I'm not
(29:35):
gonna lie, but what I love about it is the
sunrise aspect of how there's a light that beams essentially
in your face and it allows you to wake up
easier because it essentially reflects what the sunrise would be
in your room. And then the alarm clock noise is
way more calming than what you would hear from an iPhone.
(29:56):
I absolutely hate the iPhone alarm clock. It is awful.
I do not recommend it for anyone. Whereas the Hatch,
I feel like it's a lot more soothing, a lot
more enjoyable. And I recently discovered the new feature on
the Hatch alarm clock, which is the night light. So
I will put on like the light in my room
(30:16):
at night, and I'll usually I'll switch it to like
the red, which it allows it to be a bit
more calming. I also never used to be a white
noise kind of person, and now I listen to white
noise every single night, and I actually like can't go
to bed without it, Like it's literally something that Zach
and I swear by. So I don't know, I feel
like the alarm clock definitely played a huge impact in
(30:37):
helping me stay consistent with waking up early. But I
also just find, you know, going into the summer season,
it's a lot easier to create an early morning routine.
So I feel the kind of person that has been
wanting to get into a morning routine, this is the
time to do so. Because the sun is up at
like five p forty five, so you can definitely push
yourself to wake up at six. I do it every
(30:58):
single morning. The sun is up. It's literally in my
eyes in the morning, and it's like the best thing
to wake up to. I love waking up, you know,
to the sun or with the sun. It's like truly
the most rewarding thing. And being able to like get outside,
get a workout in, or you know, get a walk
in before eight am is so rewarding. So if you're
the kind of person that wants to become a morning person,
(31:21):
I think this is your sign to do so. And
the summer season is here, so you better get to it.
The last thing that I wanted to say when it
comes to a game changer for just yourself in general,
is getting yourself set up for a savings account. If
you do not have a savings account, I highly highly
recommend setting one up. I've actually had a lot of
(31:43):
recent hate on Reddit, which I don't read. To be honest,
I avoid Reddit because you know, people say what they
want to say. But my mom, I guess, decided to
read Reddit about me, and she didn't really tell me everything,
but she did say that apparently a lot of people
said that I rely a lot on my parents' money,
and anything that has came in my life has all
(32:07):
been because of my parents. I'm going to tell you
this right now. My parents did not help me pay
for a single thing. I saved all my money up.
My parents taught me how to save money. Every single
paycheck that I ever got from when I was sixteen on,
I took a chunk of that money and I would
put it into a savings account. So, you know, everyone
can kind of do it differently. But if you make
(32:29):
xyz amount in two weeks, take a portion of it
and put it into your savings account every two weeks,
and then by the end of the year, you'll see
how much money you actually saved by doing that. So
I find creating a separate account allows you to like
really just not focus on the big number, and you know, think, oh,
I have all this money, I could go shopping, I
could spend all my money on this stuff, I could
(32:51):
go travel blah blah blah. Like I think by taking
it out immediately and not seeing it makes me think
that it doesn't exist. And then you know, when I
see my account, I'm a bit more managedab when it
comes to shopping or spending money on trips or whatever.
So anything that I've bought in my house, my car,
my wedding, I paid for it all myself. I had
no help from anybody, And I'm very grateful that I
(33:12):
was able to do that all because I was able
to put money aside and not you know, have it
in my close vicinity. Like just having it in a
separate account allowed me to like really just separate it,
and I was allowed to just invest in things that
I think was worth it, like buying a house, buying
a car, all that because I was able to save
that money and put it aside. So this is just
(33:33):
kind of like an ending to this game changer as
like a motivational side where it's like you can do
anything you set your mind to. And I think it
does play a huge impact when you do create a
savings account and you do set money aside, and you
know it could take a few months, It could take
a few years, but over time, if there's a big
goal that you've been wanting to achieve that costs a
lot of money, you'll see at that point how much
(33:55):
money you've actually saved and how much you could actually
put towards whatever your dream is, whether it's going to
Greece or buying your dream car, whatever it is. So anyways,
trust me, if you don't have a savings account, you
need to get one and maybe ask your parents if
you're younger and you don't know how to do so,
or if you know someone. If you're older and you
want to figure out how to do it, just go
(34:16):
to the bank. They're you know, super respectful and will
always like help you out and tell you how to
set it all up. So anyways, that's kind of like
the end to this episode. But I hope these game
changers were inspiring for you or things that you may
have never tried that you're excited to try this summer.
