Speaker 1 (00:13):
Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
Hawkerel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kaylee, and this is
your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
a new mindset, and another day for you to become
the Hawkgirl energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
Happy Wednesday, Welcome back to another episode. I am so
excited to go on a trip this weekend. Like I'm
(00:35):
so so excited, and Zach and I are going to Miami,
as I said in last week's episode, and I'm just
excited for the first trip of the summer. I think
that always hits different. We do also have a few
weekends coming up for some cottage weekends, some ball tournaments,
so my husband plays a lot of ball, and yeah,
(00:57):
he has like these fun tournaments that usually has and
I see a lot of the wives there and some
of them have kids, so it's just kind of like
a tradition that we always go to the tournament to
support the husbands. But all in all, I think summer's
officially here, it's started, and thinking of just all the
fun weekends to come ahead is just so exciting. And yeah,
(01:20):
so I'm excited to start off our first trip this weekend,
and I'm very happy that I get to spend it
with my husband.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
I think that's a dream come true.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
And yeah, I'm just excited for the fun content that
we're going to film as well. So definitely stay tuned
on TikTok and Instagram if you guys want to follow
me there. We're going to be posting a lot of
content from that trip along with YouTube. I'm going to
film a whole separate log of our Miami trip. I've
actually never have experienced Miami the way we're going to
experience it this time. The last time I went to Miami,
(01:51):
I was fifteen years old with my parents, so very
different vibe.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
We didn't even stay in Miami, to be honest.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
We stayed in like Palm Beach area, so an area
a bit further from Miami directly. I've only been to
South Beach once again, never really stayed on South Beach,
So I feel like I didn't really get the Miami
experience where I feel like this weekend, Zach and I
are like doing all the things that we've seen on
TikTok that people do in Miami, like a lot of
good restaurants, a lot of fun like pool spots, beach clubs,
(02:22):
all that.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
We're staying at a really nice hotel.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
So I think we're just doing it the right way
and the way I would want to do it if
I was going to Miami.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
So I feel like.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
It's going to be a very different experience this time
around versus what I went with my family. And there's
so many good spots in Miami, especially when it comes
to like the wellness girls. I personally feel like Miami
is the perfect combination of wellness and party life. So
if I were to have my bacheorette again, I probably
would have done it at Miami, Like that would have
(02:49):
been my first choice. But obviously, because we did a
destination wedding, we wanted to tie it into our Italy trip.
But if I were getting married like here at home,
and I wanted to do like a Destiny bacherette party,
I would do Miami because I personally find there's so
many good workout studios. There's so many cute like little
like health and wellness like cafes for.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Like smoothies and smoothie.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Bulls and all that, and then you still get that
like fun night life if you want to like go
to like a nice dinner or go to like night shows,
all that Miami has it. Then during the day, you
could like chill with a beach, you know, you don't
need to like drink constantly. You could just like chill
tan have a really relaxing day, and then have some
fun at nights. So in my perfect world, I think
(03:33):
Miami's like the perfect combination of that wellness girl lifestyle
on top of the party lifestyle. Of course, Zach and
I are not really going to be doing the party
lifestyle at all. I feel like Zach and I are
more of like the kind of people that just like
to go out for a nice dinner, you know, have
a few cocktails, maybe have a cocktail at like the
cocktail bar at the hotel, and then head to bed.
(03:54):
Like we are not that kind of people that will
stay up till two am drinking partying. Like that's just
not ay. I do hope to get a few workouts
in as well. I think it will most likely be
at the hotel gym, though I don't think I'll like
go book a studio or anything in Miami. But I
think the next time I go, I hope to go
with some girlfriends and actually do like Miami Pilate Studios
(04:14):
and all that.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
I think that'd be so fun.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
I definitely want to go to I think it's called Piravida,
which I think they're known for like their.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Smoothie bulls, their smoothies all that.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
There's also a sun Life there, which you guys know,
I'm obsessed with sun Life.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
They have one in La and I literally was so
happy when they had.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
One there, and I want to like show Zach sun
Life because I always talk about how good it is,
so I'm excited for that.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
I think there's a lot of good restaurants, like there's
a Carbone, There's no Boo all that.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Like so many good spots. So there's so much to
do in Miami. And I will make sure to share
our itinerary after our trip of all the places that
we go to, what I think is worth it, what
I don't. I'll obviously give a little bit of a
trip recap as well when I get back from the trip.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
All that.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Right now, I have majority of my packing done. I
ordered a few minute things yesterday in terms of accessories
and all that. So if you saw my Instagram post,
I just posted like a Pinterests mood board because I
always love to go on Pinterest, as you guys know,
planning out my summer trips, planning out my season. So
of course I have a summer mood board started for
(05:18):
what I hope to achieve this summer, just like things
that I want to put on my bucket list, or
just again summer trips that I'm going on, like how
I want to envision that trip for myself, take some photos,
take some content, like I really just like to use
Pinterests as my way of a envisioning my life of course,
because we're always going to be romanticizing our life and
(05:40):
be also as a way to yeah, create content and
use it as some inspiration, which kind of ties into
today's episode. I really wanted to talk about my summer
bucket list, and this is something that I think everyone
should start making now because summer officially starts next week.
I believe it's June twenty first, correct me if I'm wrong.
Pretty sure summer starts then, and there's just so much
(06:03):
that I'm sure everybody wants to do within these next
few months, and summer is very short. I find I
find it goes by so fast because we always try
and plan so much. But these little things here are
not really things that like you need to plan in advance.
These are just like little date nights and ideas that
you should do with either your husband or your partner
or like your girlfriends. Like just things that I think
(06:25):
we kind of forget about and they're so small, but
I personally finally make a huge difference when I look back,
you know, for my summer last year, I think about
these things like I'm like, oh, I'm really happy I
spent a Thursday night doing this, or you know, I'm
really happy we did a Friday night like this where
we were at home and we were able to do
this little thing that was on my bucket list because
it's just something that I remember, and it's little memories
(06:47):
that I think are just so memorable and yeah, something
that you just don't really think about. So I'm gonna
share with you guys some ideas if you guys are
looking for inspo for what to do this summer and
how you're going to have the best summer yeat. Okay,
the first thing that I always put on my bucket
list every single year is sunset at the beach with
pizza and wine. This is like one of my favorite
(07:09):
things to do. And again, weekends can get really busy,
So even going on like a Wednesday night or a
Thursday night, go buy a bottle of wine.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
Order your favorite pizza, go to your favorite beach, bring.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
A little towel. You can bring your dog if you want.
I usually go with Zach. We brought Freddy last time.
It was kind of a shit show, not gonna lie,
but we did enjoy having Freddy there and I think
he had the best time. But it was just like
so calming to think of, like the sun setting and
just like being there with my husband enjoying that like
very intimate moment of just him and I with our
wine and pizza. It's just like another date idea that's
(07:41):
a bit more affordable versus like going to a restaurant
and spending all this money on alcohol and food. Like
ordering pizza is always more affordable, and then obviously bringing
your own bottle of wine is going to be much
cheaper than buying a bottle of wine at a restaurant.
So all in all, it's just a bit more of
an affordable way of having a date night. And this
is something that I try and do, like once a month,
(08:01):
usually in the summer because we love it so much,
and even trying like different spots out could be a park,
could go to different beaches, And again it doesn't have
to be something to do on the weekend. You could
do it on a weeknight as well. I think a
key thing out of this as well is just like
making date nights a priority in your relationship is key.
Even like a friendship, it's really important to like make
the effort of setting up these little nights in I
(08:23):
think it's just important in a relationship or a friendship
to really just like make these nights a priority. And
it's just a fun thing to do in the summer.
Another date idea that I love to do is go
to a farmer's market. So every Saturday we try and
go to a farmer's market and go get a little
coffee and again kind of just like romanticize our Saturday
morning by doing that. And farmers' markets are just like
(08:45):
such a great way of like supporting local brands, you know,
trying out different brands that you may have never tried before.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Also just getting that fresh produce and all that.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
I don't know, the whole experience is just super fun
and I just love doing that on my Saturdays.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
I also love ice cream date nights.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
Let's be honest, I think everyone's always craving a ice
cream or a sweet tree on a summer night. There's
something about the summer that I think everyone just gravitates towards,
like anything sweet after dinner. I feel like I'm a
victim to getting ice cream at least twice a week,
to be honest, maybe once a week from any ice
cream shop. To be honest, I'm not really picky on
where we go, but I love trying different spots out.
(09:21):
But for example, Zach and I went to go get
ice cream literally two nights ago, and it was so good.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Oh my god, it was our first sweet tree of
the season and it was like the best.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
It was so so good getting it in a cone,
and again just spending that time with your partner or
your girlfriend catching up chatting. It's just like a fun
little night idea to do with your friend or your partner.
Another thing that you could do, and this could be
something more of like a night in in your backyard
is an outdoor movie night. So I actually ordered a
projector and like a white screen for my backyard because
(09:55):
as you guys know, we're building a deck. Zach finally
finished it this past weekend, so we're very excited about that.
I already ordered the furniture, so now we're just waiting
for the furniture to come in. I think it's going
to be in when we get back from Miami, which
is perfect, and honestly, I just can't wait to set
it all up the following weekend and actually have our
first barbecue, our first little session of just being outside
(10:17):
with the dining table and everything.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
I think it's going to be oh so good.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Like there's nothing better than a backyard summer dinner, like
cooking like either burgers or steaks or kebabs and the barbecue,
you know, like setting up your dining table, eating outside,
sitting on your couch with a little fire pit. Like,
oh my god, Like that is heaven to me. Like that,
if I could have that every single night in the summer,
(10:40):
that would be like my perfect night ever.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
So that's what we ordered.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
We ordered couches, we ordered a fire pit, we ordered
a dining set, We ordered a barbecue.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Yes, it was very expensive.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
If you're wondering, I did not realize how expensive backyard
furniture was, but I just keep telling myself that it's
going to be so worth it. Furniture is always worth
the investment. I just keep telling myself that it's going
to be things that you're going to have years upon years.
So anyways, it was worth the investment, and I'm really
excited to just have some date nights outside. But going
into the part about the outdoor movie, I thought it
(11:11):
was such a cute idea to get a projector and
put a white screen in your backyard. That way, you
could watch either a TV show or a movie outside
and enjoy the outdoor space while also being able to
watch your favorite TV show or a movie or anything
like that. So I'm hoping we get to use that
a lot in our backyard and just really enjoy the
(11:32):
dining set and couches and all that while also being
able to watch like our favorite shows outside. This is
on my summer bucket list because this is something that
I've been wanting to get into, and we're actually going
to be building this the following weekend after our trip
from Miami.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
But we want to get into gardening.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
I know I'm a little late to the game for
this because I feel like everyone usually starts in May,
and because our backyard has been obviously taking us some
time to do because the weekends have honestly just been
not good for weatherwise, and that's why it's taken Zack
so long to build the deck. But anyways, we do
want to build like a massive like gardening pot essentially,
like we're going to be building a wooden pot on
(12:08):
the deck that's raised that way we don't have any
issues like rabbits or squirrels getting into it.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
But yeah, I just like would love like fresh.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Basil and tomatoes and cucumbers like all that just like
grown in the backyard. And it's really all going to
be dependent on if we can do it or not
this year. If we can't do it this year, then
we'll do it next year. I would love to garden,
to be honest. My parents have one, and I always
love just like grabbing whatever, like I think they have
kale as well in their backyard my parents, So I
(12:37):
always like love going in their backyard and just grabbing
literally anything fresh from their garden.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
It's the best.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
So eventually we will have our own garden. I don't
know if we'll be this year or next year. I'm
hoping we can do it this year, just to have
on the deck. But it's definitely something that I've been
wanting to get into. Another thing I want to do
for my summer bucket list is get back into hobbies.
So you know, I love pickleball. Zach and I haven't
had the chance to play yet, but I'm hoping we
can make like a night during the week, whether it's
(13:02):
like a Tuesday night or Wednesday night, and we can
like just go play for an hour at one of
the courts close by to our house.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
There's also tennis and golfing.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Zach's a huge golfer, so you know, he usually likes
to go to the courses with the guys, but the
odd time, like we get to go together, it's really fun.
I also love to do this like with my dad
and my sister, will like make a whole day out
of it and I'll go golfing together. I do really
enjoy doing those summer hobbies in the summer. Another thing
that Zach and I have just recently gotten into we
(13:31):
had our first run session. Okay running, We're trying to run.
So proud of my husband because I am a runner.
I used to run track and I used to do
cross country and Zach has never done any of that.
So Zach is very much like a sprinter and that's it.
Like he does not do long distance running. But we're
trying to create like a running routine for himself. Like
(13:53):
his goal is to be able to run like five
to ten k. So we started off on Sunday with running.
It ran a five k essentially, but like we kind
of walked and runned like you know what I mean,
Like we walked for the first kilometer, then ran, then walked,
then ranley We kind of did that, and we honestly
actually did that for I think it was six kilometers.
Like we walked three k and probably ran three k
(14:15):
and he felt pretty good with that.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
He also just.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
Bought brand new running shoes, so he really wanted to
break them in. I'm gonna film the entire experience, don't
worry for TikTok, but for the first day, like I
just wanted him to kind of like break in the
shoes and kind of just like create a route for ourselves.
So yeah, but we're really trying to become runners together.
Bringing Freddy again. Getting outside, we went at like eight
(14:38):
o'clock on a Sunday morning. It was like still early,
the sun was still like at its like little sunrise moment,
and it wasn't too hot, which was nice.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
We weren't like dying of heat.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
And all in all, it was just like a very
enjoyable morning, Like we went on a run, we came home,
we made French toasts and had our coffees and had
like a chill morning and it was literally perfection. I'm like,
if this could be my Sunday every single mo that
would be the goal. So all in all, just find
hobbies that you want to do, either with your friends
or yourself or with your husband or partner, and try
(15:09):
and like find days during the week that you can
make it work. So for us, like Sunday mornings is
something that works for us, or like an evening after work,
if you guys can make it work to go to
like a pickleball court, or go play tennis, or go
do some golfing, even if it's just like going to
a driving range, it's something that you're you know, striving
to do for the summer and you're making the effort
(15:29):
of doing these hobbies with someone special. Another thing that
I always love is hitting up some patios, so hitting
up our favorite patios from some of our favorite restaurants.
I feel like I don't go out much during the winter,
so I like to really try and get out in
the summer because I find obviously getting out of the
house is always a good thing to do for your
(15:49):
mental health. And because I work from home, I'm just
always wanting to, yeah, get out of the house whenever
I can. So even like finding your favorite restaurants and
figuring out like there's some restaurants do like specials on
certain days. So for example, like we have a Moxie's
and every Wednesday they have like a wine Wednesday, where
I think wine's like half off or something like that.
(16:09):
So I used to do that all the time with
my girlfriends. We'd go to a patio, order a bunch
of wine, just kind of chill, catch up, chat all that.
Now what we're doing actually, this is something that I
never talked about. This is kind of like another hobby
that I've been doing with my girlfriends. Instead of doing
like patio nights on a weekly basis with my girlfriends,
we're actually doing a Hawk Girl walk club. So every
Friday morning, we all get together in a parking lot
(16:32):
and we actually walk five kilometers and we go to
a coffee shop, have a little coffee together on a Friday,
and then walk back and then everyone goes to work.
We're waking up and we're doing our walks at seven am,
so we meet at the parking lot by seven am.
We walk, and then everyone's back in their cars by
like eight thirty and they get to you know, go
to their work day. And you know, some most of
(16:53):
my girlfriends work from home, some work in the office,
but or some people work like me, were self employed.
So it's really nice because we get to see each
other on a weekly basis. We all get to get
some movement in, we get a little coffee, we get
to catch up. Like it's literally the perfect thing ever.
But it's just so funny to me how we evolved
from you know, wine night patio nights, from when we
(17:13):
were like twenty five, twenty four, and now we're all
like twenty nine thirty walking, some walking with strollers with
their babies, you know, walking with our dogs, just getting
a coffee all that. Like, it's just such a huge
difference in what we make our hobbies now or our
little weekly catchups. But It's honestly the best change in
(17:34):
my opinion. Like, I love being able to wake up
early and do those walks with my girlfriends and still
see them on a weekly basis, because as you get older,
I do think we all get busier and busier and
life is just busy in general. So still being able
to like dedicate a day where we can all walk
together and do that is super fun. So if you're
having a hard time seeing your girlfriends and even wanting
to do something on a weekly basis, try out the
(17:57):
hawkgirl walks.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Make a day where you guys can like.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
Walk together in a trail, get a coffee right before
you start your work day. Or if you're the kind
of person as I said, that likes to do patio
nights and wants to like go hit up their favorite restaurants,
highly recommend doing that as well. Another thing I'd love
to do is hit up different wineries. I love going
to a winery. I think that's such a fun idea.
I probably go to a winery maybe like once or
(18:21):
twice in the summer. I don't go that often, but
we do have one pretty close to our place. It's
called Kin Vineyards. And what I love about it is
that they have like a nighttime session where you can
order dinner outside, order different flights of wine, and you
could like take pictures in the vineyard, you can bring
your dog all that, like, It's such a cute little spot.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
So I really love to do that.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
But I know there's other wineries that are a bit
more strict with their policies and usually only open during
the day. But I mean, of course we'd love to
go to a winery in Italy and go experience the
Tuscany winery like that would be the dream. Of course,
we'd love to do that in the summer. But if
there's something that's a bit more local for yourself, it's
always something fun to do in the summer. Another thing
that I want to continue doing this summer is getting
(19:05):
smoothies after workout classes with my girls. I'm just realizing
how many rituals I've made for the summer, and I
think that's why I've been also feeling so good lately
going into the season, because I feel like I've created
rituals for a lot of different days.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
Throughout the week.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Like Okay, so Fridays, I meet up with my girls,
I go for a walk, Saturdays, I do a workout
class with my workout friends and we go get smoothies
after and we like chat for like an hour after
the class. Sundays, I'm doing runs with my husband. Like
I'm really like dedicating days to doing things to make
sure that I hit these things off my bucket list.
So I'm starting to realize as we talk about this
that if you're looking to really hit everything off your
(19:42):
bucket list, I think this is the way to do it,
is really dedicate days throughout your week to do things.
So maybe me and Zach make you know, our Thursday
nights the night where we you know, try different things out.
So you know, we go to the winery that night
and you know, we try out different wines and have
a little date night. And then maybe next Thursday we
go to the beach and we have like a sunset
day all that. So I feel like in order to
(20:03):
like knock these things down, it's good to kind of
have days where you know you're free and you can
really schedule, you know, nights to do these kind of things.
So if you have an open schedule where you're able
to do that, I think that's great. Even if it
is like at seven pm at night to do. So
I think having like structured days is really helpful. So
every Saturday, I've been going to a workout class with
(20:23):
my girlfriends.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
We went smoothies.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Literally such a fun thing to do in the summer,
and yeah, we've been really enjoying it. Another thing that
I've been wanting to try, which literally sounds crazy even
saying this out loud, but I really want to go
horseback riding. I've never gone horseback riding. I think I
put this on my bucket lists last year. I'm not
gonna lie because of course, everybody wanted to live the
Miley Cyrus summer.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
That's what was trending last summer. I remember it to
a tea.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
So my sister and I actually found a place because
last year we thought we could ride them at this
place close by, but you can't. It's just like for shows.
So we're like, okay, well we're not riding like a
horse in this area. So we found this one place
that actually offers classes on how to ride a horse
and sessions and all that. So I think we're going
(21:08):
to do that on like a random Wednesday, Like literally,
we're just going to do it on a random Wednesday,
and I'll make sure to log the entire experience. But
I've never been on a horse before, so it is
a little terrifying in my opinion.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
But I mean, we're all.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
About doing things out of our comfort zone. Another thing
I'm very much looking forward to is just cottage weekends.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
As I said, and.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Just like campfires, fireworks. We're actually going to a cottage
on Canada Day weekend. One of my girlfriends, she owns
a cottage, and it's just literally the most wholesome weekend ever,
like being with your big group of friends, having a campfire,
watching the fireworks, like kind of like your Fourth of
July if you're based in the States. We have Canadaday obviously,
which is on the first of July. So being able
(21:49):
to have a weekend like that is truly something that's
always so fun and something to always.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
Look forward to.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
But campfires in the summer, oh my god, they just
hit different. Like I love having a campfire in the summer,
And that kind of goes into this next one, which
is just like weekend getaways. So finding ways to go
on a road trip. Zach and I usually love to
go to Montreal for an example, which is like a
two hour drive from us, so I'm hoping we can
do a little Montreal trip soon. We're obviously going to
Miami this weekend, so that's kind of like a little
(22:15):
spontaneous weekend get away that we're doing. I hope to
go to Vancouver to visit Trend because I haven't seen
her in a while, and then even like maybe planning
a little Prince Edward County trip where there's like a
bunch of wineries, a lot of cute like dinner spots
all that. So definitely a lot of plans in the
works right now. I also would love to go to Europe.
(22:35):
Zach and I have been wanting to go to Europe
for August. We're trying to book that, honestly this month.
That's our goal. I know that's like super last minute
and everyone books their Europe trip so far in advance,
but sometimes Zach and I are last minute.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
When it comes to those things, and yeah, that's just
kind of the way it is.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
But we do want to do something for our anniversary
in August, which is coming so fast I cannot believe. Anyways,
I've been almost married for a year. Guys, how is
time flying by? Sofas I'm literally like in shock. But anyways,
a lot of weekend getaway trips that we want to
do or just like summer trips that we want to book.
And yeah, another thing I want to do is definitely
host more this summer. Now that we're going to have
(23:12):
our backyard done, I definitely want to host more backyard parties.
Would love to do theme parties, like even if it's
like an Italian night with a bunch of like different
kinds of pizzas and pastas, and maybe make a whole
theme of like a tomato theme of doing like a
red and white checkered tablecloth with I don't know, just
like all these different kinds of appetizers, maybe playing like
(23:33):
Italian music in the background like.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
That to me would be the perfect backyard party.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
So I definitely want to host as soon as our
deck is complete with all the furniture out and everything,
which is obviously going to be happening soon.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
So very excited about that.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
But I think hosting backyard parties is always a fun
little thing to do with your girlfriends or your couple friends.
Another thing I love to do is go to outdoor concerts.
We have a few festivals that happen here in Ottawa.
So there's definitely a few festivals that I definitely want
to go to. In a few concerts that are happening.
This is not an outdoor concert, but a concert that
I really want to go to that I want to
(24:07):
get like last minute tickets for. But Tate McCrae. We
love her, She is the moment. Would love to go
see her. She is so iconic, and yeah, she's coming
to Ottawa, so I'm like really wanting to get tickets
for that. And then I think there's a few country
artists and yeah, just coming to our blues vest, which
is what we have here, So I'm excited for that.
(24:27):
So if there's any festivals or outdoor concerts that are
happening this summer near you, you should definitely consider going
because it's always a fun night with friends and a
fun thing to do during the summer season.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
The next one is reading more.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
I definitely need to get back on my reading train.
Let's be honest. I kind of slacked after Mexico. I
did order a book for Miami, so I don't know
if I'll be able to finish in four days. I
might be able to if I'm really focused, but I'll
definitely be able to read half of it and then
hopefully read the rest of it maybe when I'm home,
standing in the backyard or something. But reading is definitely
(25:01):
on my to do list for the summer. I'd like
to read at least three books this summer. That might
be bold of me, but I think I could definitely
do it. Like when you're wanting to be outside, just
like tanning or relaxing, like there should be no excuse
of just like reading a book or honestly, I plan
on having my morning coffee in the backyard as soon
as the couches are out, so that could also be
(25:21):
a good opportunity of just like having my coffee and
reading my book for like fifteen minutes, like read what
two to three chapters. But it's better than not doing
any reading at all. So finding ways to like include
reading and to your routine is something that I'm working on,
but it's something that I definitely want to be doing
more of this summer. I think the last thing when
it comes to the summer bucket list of things that
(25:43):
I want to do is really just enjoying like the
pool days, the lake days, like really just trying to
capitalize on those little moments of enjoying the outdoor space,
going in pools, tanning, you know, chilling, relaxing, enjoy the
nice weather.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
Like being outside constantly.
Speaker 1 (25:59):
I think is my overall goal of enjoying the nice weather,
because we really only have summer for like three months
and that's it. And to be honest, we had a
really bad May, Like our weather was not good. Usually
I would say May is like usually the peak of
the start of summer, but the weather was just so
off that month that I feel like June has like
officially made it the start of our summer season.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
And guys, like where what day is it? It's June
tenth already, Like.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
How is already well June eleventh for when this episode's
gonna be up, But like we're already halfway through the month,
Like how are we already halfway through? So it just
goes by so fast. So I think it's important to
just like really understand that you only have like eight
to twelve weeks of summer, so try and do the
best you can in terms of whatever you want to do.
And it can just be like these little things. It
(26:45):
doesn't have to be you know, going on a European
trip all that. Like, yeah, of course everyone would love
to do that, but doing these little things are still
going to make your summer so memorable and so fun.
And it's just such an easy way of really like
finding days during the week to be able to do
these little things with your girlfriends or your husband, going
on date nights all that, and like it really does
make your summer more memorable when you're doing these little
(27:07):
things and you're making the effort and you're just being
spontaneous and saying yes to things and anyways, these are
the things that I'm trying to make a priority for
this summer for myself, and I know it's going to
make it a memorable one.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
And I'm going to enjoy every little date night.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Every little weekly walk with my girlfriends, and just like
really making it a priority to get out more, enjoy
the nice weather and have fun little nights like this.
So if you haven't made a summer bucket list, this
is your sign to do so, because you're not going
to regret it, and you're going to want to be
able to get all this stuff done before the end
of the summer season. But I love you guys allso much.
Thank you guys for listening to today's episode. I'm actually
(27:43):
heading to my sister's graduation right now, which I'm so
excited for. She just completed her Masters and I think
we talked about that in one of the Sip and
Spill episodes that we did a few weeks back, so
I'm very proud of her and I'm excited to go
celebrate her today. So I'm kind of ending this episode
off in a fast way, but it's just because I
have to go get ready and be there for her
and go celebrate this big milestone for her. So anyways,
