Speaker 1 (00:13):
Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
Hawkerel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kaylee, and this is
your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
a new mindset, and another day. If you'd become the
Hawtrel Energy you want to attract. Hello you guys, Happy Wednesday,
Welcome back to another episode. I legit just sat here
for like twenty minutes just looking outside my window waiting
(00:36):
for this crew to stop cutting the lawn across the
street from me. I have like a park and they
were cutting the lawn, and I'm like, there's no way
I'm going to be able to record this episode with
this loud noise in the background. So I literally just
sat here looking at them, waiting until they were finished
so I can record this episode. So anyways, they're officially
done so I can get back into recording this episode.
(00:59):
But I hope you guys are having an amazing week
so far, amazing month so far. I cannot believe we're
already going into July next month, which is so crazy.
Summer has already flown by and I'm already starting to
see Faul decore, which is literally insane. I feel like
summer literally just started technically what like four days ago,
(01:19):
June twenty first, and I'm like, I cannot believe that
we're already like bringing out faull de Core, Like, let's
slow down a little bit, love Fall, but I really
want to just enjoy summer and not have to think
about pumpkins right now. However, I do get excited obviously
thinking about like anything fall related when it comes to
like pumpkins, spice lattes, pumpkin cream, cold foam, pumpkin cream pies,
(01:42):
like give it all to me. But at the same time,
let's slow down because I'm just getting into the summer
mode now and i just want to fully embrace the
nice weather, the tan, just doing everything off my summer
bucket list and all that. I'm so happy because obviously
you're in Miami the following weekend, and then this weekend,
Zach and I actually finished the deck aka Zach finished
(02:06):
the deck, not me, because I can't do shit when
it comes to building stuff.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
But I did help.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
I will say I was able to be there and
help a little bit when it came to screwing certain boards,
and I low key think Zach actually wanted me to,
like somewhat participate in building the deck, so that's why
I actually ended up like trying to help.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
But obviously he did majority of it. I did, like
maybe two percent of.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
It, but hey, I will take a little bit of
credit for putting a few screws in a few boards.
So anyways, it was nice how we like wanted me
to feel included and somewhat feel like I put the
effort in making the deck. But I did order all
the furniture, so I feel proud of that, and I
made a whole little setup. But we also got a barbecue,
and we ended up having our first barbecue this weekend.
(02:51):
And oh my god, guys, I have to say, cooking
on a barbecue just tastes ten times better than cooking
on a stovetop. Like nothing will compare. I have to
be honest, Like, just a barbecue chicken breast just tastes
ten times better than putting it in an oven. I
honestly had an eck for the longest time for a
chicken breast because obviously a chicken breast is such a
(03:12):
high protein meal. It's so healthy, but like, I don't know,
I feel like you got to put something with it, right,
you got to add barbecue sauce. You got add something
to it. It Just like kind of was giving me
a bit of an eck for a really long time,
and I was trying to find like recipes to include
chicken breast in it. But you know, then I feel
like the recipe isn't healthy anymore because you're adding so
much cream, cheese, sauce, whatever in order for it to
(03:34):
actually taste good. But when you put a chicken on
the barbecue, add a little bit of barbecue sauce, or
even just a little bit of soy sauce, whatever the
case may be, have it with some vegetables and a
carb Like, oh my god, ches's kiss. So we had
that bur first meal on the barbecue and it was
so good. And then the following day we did sausages
on the barbecue, and yeah, we've just been loving it
(03:56):
and I'm so happy we got one. I cannot believe
it took us this long to buy one. But now
that we finally had a deck setup, we were finally
ready to just kind of invest in really getting the
backyard all set up. So I'm hoping by next week
we can finally start having people over. We do get
our dining set in and I think like three or
four days, which is really exciting, and then we get
(04:17):
our couch and chairs and fire pit and all that
for not another three weeks. I kind of made a
screw up with ordering furniture. I probably should have ordered
furniture back in April, but I think back in April,
I didn't even have backyard plans at that point. I
had no idea that we were going to be putting
a deck in until like end of May. So yeah,
everything was just really back ordered, just because I think
(04:39):
I obviously, like going into the summer season, everyone's ordering
backyard furniture and all that. So it was a little
back ordered. But that's okay. She's coming in in July
and we're going to make the most out of it
for August and September. And of course, when you invest
in furniture, it's important to know that you're going to
have it for a pretty long time. And I know
(05:00):
this backyard furniture will have for honestly the next little while.
And I made sure that I picked the ones that
I really wanted. I didn't cheap out. I was like,
I'm going to invest in the ones that I truly
think are going to be long lasting, because I didn't
want to have to just settle on something that was
going to come in next week. But then I knew
I was going to most likely sell in the marketplace
and you know, rebuy another set that I actually wanted for.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
The future house.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
So I tried to be smart and just order the
one that I absolutely loved and knew that we would
get a lot of use out of and longevity out of.
That's kind of how I structure my mind when it
comes to making large purchases is making sure that it's
something that's going to last a very long time, something
that's worth the investment. And I always just find spending
a little bit more money on certain things can sometimes
(05:44):
be worth it, especially when it comes to furniture for
a house or anything like that. So just something to
keep in mind when you are in that phase in
your life where you're looking to you know, splurge and
get you know, high end furniture.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
And all that.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
I do think that's something that's worth in So anyways,
I'm very excited for all that stuff to come in.
We can finally start having people over, having some like
backyard movie nights or just like watching Netflix outside, cooking
dinner outside, eating outside. All that is going to be
such a great time having that backyard setup. And yeah,
I'm excited to have hopefully all that set up board July. Now,
(06:19):
as you can see in today's episode title, we're going
to be talking about the midyear Hawk Girl raset because
we've officially reached the month of June. Obviously, as you
guys know, summer technically started I think last week or
early this weekend, June twenty first, and I want to
talk about just being six months into the year and
knowing that we have six months left of this year,
(06:40):
and I want to talk about how we can actually
continue to achieve the goals on our vision board that
we might have forgotten about or might have just kind
of lost, you know, touch of what's happening for our
year this year.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
And I actually just did a.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
Deep dive of my vision board and kind of just
like reviewed it made sure that I was, you know,
on track to achieving these goals that I set for
myself in the beginning of the year. And whether things
have changed or maybe things have gone in the right direction,
or maybe you're you know, kind of forgot about certain
goals that you're like, oh crap, or maybe there's some
goals that you almost forgot about and now you're like, Okay,
(07:16):
I need to kind of reidentify how I'm going to
achieve these goals before the end of the year, Like,
am I going to create a timeline for myself in
order to achieve these things?
Speaker 2 (07:26):
All that?
Speaker 1 (07:27):
So we're going to really just dive deep on how
we're going to be able to actually achieve the goals
that we wanted to achieve before the end of the year.
Talk about revisiting how we're going to achieve things all that. Okay,
So I think the first step that everyone needs to do,
which is something that I just said that I did,
was revisit your vision board. So see what you've achieved
so far, what have you not achieved. Maybe get a
(07:47):
piece of paper out and write down all the goals
that you achieved, or look back at that piece of
paper that you wrote all the goals down from the
beginning of this year. Kind of check off things that
you've achieved, but also maybe look at things that you
maybe you know, have only partially achieved or you're getting
close to achieving, Like maybe that might be a good
way to motivate yourself to get to that end goal.
(08:10):
I've noticed that there was some trips that I've been
wanting to go on, like I wanted to go down South,
I wanted to book a trip down to Europe all that.
So I've already done the two down South trips in
the beginning of this year, and my Europe trip I
still haven't booked yet, so I'm like, who knows, Like,
will this happen?
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Will this not?
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Obviously I hope to do that, but we'll see. Another
thing was I had the YouTube play button on my
vision board because I've been really trying to post on
YouTube a lot lately because it's one of my favorite
platforms to create content on. I've had this YouTube play
button on my vision board for the past three years,
okay three years, so it's definitely been a working progress
on trying to achieve it. I looked at my YouTube
(08:49):
channel i think last week, and I noticed I was
at ninety nine thousand subscribers, meaning that I'm a thousand
followers away from hitting that YouTube plaque. So I'm actually
certain that I might actually get that YouTube play button
that's been on my vision board for the past three
years so it's motivating me to get into my YouTube grind.
I'm like, Okay, we got to start posting more, we
(09:09):
got to start gaining new subscribers, gaining a new audience.
So now I'm feeling more motivated to achieve that goal
because looking back at the vision board and knowing that
I'm so close to achieving that one goal for myself,
it's just a way to motivate myself. So let's say
there's some goals on your vision board that you've been
working on and you're so close to just completely achieving
that goal. This might be a great way to also
(09:32):
just motivate yourself to achieve it by reviewing those goals
and reviewing those things that you wanted to achieve before
at the end of the year. So it's a great
way to motivate yourself as well. Another thing was a
lot of my fitness goals was maintaining pilates, being consistent,
just kind of really pushing myself to try new things.
And I feel like this year I've definitely been really
good at that is just trying different workout classes, really
(09:53):
getting out of my comfort zone. Obviously being consistent with
pilates because it is my favorite form of movement doing
workouts with a lot of friends. I think at the
beginning of this year, I didn't think I was going
to meet so many friends in the fitness industry and
like all going to the same workout classes.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
And all that.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
And now, you know, looking back from January to now,
I'm literally arranging my workout schedules around my friends who
take the same workout classes as me. And now you know,
every Saturday we go get coffee together or a protein
smoothie together, all that, and like that was something that
I didn't think was actually going to happen, but that
was something that was on my vision board that I wanted.
(10:31):
I wanted to create friendships, I wanted to be able
to do workouts with friends all that. And now it's
become such a fun hobby that I can do with
these new friends that I've met who have a lot
of similar interests with me, and has.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Just made working out so much more fun.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
So I'm really happy that that was something that I
wasn't expecting to happen but happened, and it kind of
does reflect my vision board in a way. One thing
that I honestly haven't put a lot of energy towards
that has now kind of helped me out in terms
of how I want to direct things going into the
last six months of the year was a getting podcasts
videoing up. I think that was something that Zach and
(11:07):
I kind of put on the back burner because there
was a lot of upcoming last minute trips that we
weren't anticipating.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
That kind of took a lot of my time.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
And then you know, then we started building a deck,
and other house projects came up that were more of
a priority. So I kind of put that on the
back burner because I don't want to just start video
podcasting and just you know, sit on my couch and
start talking in front of a camera, Like I want
to create a vision that I've always had the vision
for the Hawkrow Energy podcast. It's creating my studio slash office,
(11:36):
having the couches that I want, having the mics that
I want, having the whole background setup. Like, I have
a vision and I very much want to execute it
in the professional way. So it might not be in
the next month, it might not be for the next
two months, it might not be till the end of
the year, but I do know that that goal will happen,
because obviously there's still moving parts that I'm trying to
(11:57):
execute for this video podcasting, but I do know what's
going to happen. But I think this was kind of
a sign where it just kind of opened up my
eyes in terms of like, Okay, this is something that
you've been slacking on, and this is something that you
haven't really put any effort towards. So now you need
to redirect your efforts on how you're going to be
able to achieve this before.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
The end of the year.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
So that's just an example of a goal that I
haven't really focused on that I kind of almost forgot
about that I need to redirect my efforts on how
we're going to achieve it before at the.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
End of the year.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
So really just evaluate everything on your vision board. There's
going to be a lot of positives. There's going to
be some again kind of negatives where you're like, Okay,
we need to readjust things and figure out how we're
going to make this happen. So it's important to do these,
you know, either monthly checkups or midyear checkups, anything like that,
just to kind of review everything that you actually wanted
to achieve because this is how you're actually going to
(12:49):
achieve your goals is by actually reviewing and making the
effort and finding ways on how to achieve these things
for yourself. If you just make a vision board and
you don't even look at it and you just kind
of forget about it, then you're losing the point of
how to actually achieve these things. Like you can't just
make it in January and then look back in December
and be like, oh, yeah, I only achieved two things
on my vision the board because I didn't, you know,
(13:10):
do my monthly checkups or my midyear checkups of you know,
how I can actually achieve those goals, or you didn't
create a plan or a timeline on how you.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Were going to achieve those things.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Like I see girls who just make these vision boards
just for the aesthetics of it and then don't do
anything with it, like they don't actually execute the plan
of actually achieving these things. So do those monthly checkups,
do those monthly goals, do those midyear checkups, because I
do think it really helps your motivation, helps you know,
redirect yourself in the right path to achieve these certain
(13:41):
things for yourself. So this kind of goes into the
next one, which is create a plan to achieve these goals. So,
for example, if you want to start waking up earlier
and you haven't done that yet, so if you want
it to become the morning girl. And this kind of
also goes into the persona that we've talked about in
previous episodes of who do you want to become this summer?
Who do you want to be come this year? Do
you want to become the morning girl? Do you want
(14:03):
to become the pilates girl? Like, create your whole persona
around this one goal that you have for yourself. So
if you wanted to become the morning girl of waking
up earlier and making more time for yourself by showing
up for yourself early in the morning doing your favorite
things before you start your workday, then this is the
time and the sign to readjust your nighttime schedule, your
(14:23):
morning time schedule, create a system on how you're going
to become that morning girl. So maybe it's going to
bed an hour earlier at night, which would make it
easier for you to wake up early. It's all about
creating a consistent flow. So I've been in the process
of starting to wake up at five o'clock in the morning.
This was my June goal. As you guys know, usually
I'd wake up at six, which is still very early,
(14:44):
but I've been trying to make the adjustment of waking
up at like five five thirty. So for the whole
month of June, I've been really trying to make it
a priority. Obviously, on the weekends, I do sleep in,
which I think is important because I need to obviously
have that sleep in during the weekend in order to
wake up earlier throughout the week. I would say I've
been waking up at five twenty five thirty consistently for
(15:07):
the last three weeks of June, and I'm so proud
of myself. That first week was definitely difficult. I definitely
had a hard time getting out of bed by five thirty.
Like I would usually like lay in my bed scroll
you know, wouldn't get out of bed till like six fifteen,
six twenty. Now I would say, I wake up at
five twenty five thirty and I'm out of bed by
like five forty, and it gives me twenty minutes to
(15:29):
get myself ready for the day, so, you know, brushing
my teeth, putting my workout, set on doing my skincare
and then I'm out the door walking Freddy by six o'clock,
which I personally love because I get an hour walk
in before my seven am pilates class.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
And it just proved to me that I can.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
Wake up an hour earlier than I used to be
able to do a few things that I wasn't able
to do after my workout classes because it affected my
work schedule all that. So being able to get a
walk in, eat my breakfast while watching a YouTube video
like doing the little things that mattered me has made
a huge effort just by waking up that one hour earlier.
So if you want to become that morning person and
(16:06):
you really want to make that a goal for this
year and you haven't done so yet, this is the
time to do so. And by doing this, you need
to create a really good bed time schedule and a
consistent time of waking up in the morning. If you
have an even bigger goal than just becoming this morning person,
maybe you have really big career goals that you want
to achieve for yourself, this is the time to create
a timeline for yourself. So whether it's weeks or months
(16:29):
of things that you need to do to get to
that big end goal. This is your time now to
create that timeline that's going to allow you to figure
out how you're going to achieve that big goal throughout
each week or each month before the end of the year.
So it's all about timelines. It's all about really just
making the effort of doing these little things to.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Get to that big end goal.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
So, as I said, setting different bedtimes, waking up earlier,
creating a timeline, and how you're going.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
To actually achieve these big goals for yourself.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
So now once you've kind of revisited your vision board,
you kind of figured out, Okay, these the goals we're
going to achieve before the end of the year. You know,
I've already achieved these ones, which is good. It's created
motivation for yourself to get you know, more of these
goals done before the end of the year. You're also
going to want to have to declutter your space because
for me personally, I recently just did a big closet
(17:17):
clean out, and I am so happy I did that
because I feel like it just created a mental reset
for myself because I think that was something that I
was just kind of like putting to the side not
really caring about, but it really does make a huge
mental difference when you actually make the effort of cleaning
out your closet, getting rid of all those things, decluttering
(17:37):
other spots in your home, like your office cabinets that
you might been avoiding. Maybe it's your office at work
and you know you haven't really decluttered that space. Like
just removing things that you've kind of ignored for the
past few weeks or past few months will really just
make you feel like you've reset your life. Like I'm
not even over exaggerating, like it feels like a fresh start,
a new beginning. It just makes you feel like you're
(17:59):
more organied, and it almost feels like a little like
yearly reset right where it's like, okay, kind of makes
you feel like you're in January again, where it's like,
all right, let's get the gears back going, let's get
back into routine, let's get back into the swing of things,
let's feel more organized again. Let's go back to the
girl that we told ourselves that we wanted to become
in the beginning of the year. So it's all about
(18:19):
just decluttering and cleaning up our space and really organizing
everything another thing that I think is important to do
is a digital declutter. So this is something that I'm
a victim to when it comes to like my photos,
my videos, Like my camera roll is so crazy, guys.
I need to go through all of that and just
delete things that I'm not, you know, needing anymore. I
(18:42):
did do a bit of a declutter when I was
on the plane in Miami. I think I deleted I
want to say, like twenty thousand photos and videos, which
is still nothing and compared to what it is now,
but it's making a step towards, you know, getting more
organized and feeling like things are going in the right direction.
So that could be also like other digital things that
(19:02):
could be a digital reset could just be like large
files on your computer that you might been ignoring, you know,
your emails. That's something that I actually am thinking about
now that I need to do. I have used up
like ninety percent of my email storage for both my emails,
so going through that decluttering all that. It could also
be like work files, like you know, physical paper in
(19:23):
your filing cabinet that you might want to go through.
So I don't know, just like either a digital declutter
or just kind of like an office declutter of things
that you might have been ignoring from your work that
you could do that would really really help you just
kind of reset mentally and know that everything's fresh, everything's organized,
and you kind of just feel like it's a new beginning.
(19:45):
This is something that I actually just did recently that
I think it's important to do, especially at this time
of the year.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
As well. Is a financial reset.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
So reviewing your spending is also just like reviewing things
that you might be subscribed to. Are you still using
that gym membership that you signed up for in the
beginning of the year. If you're not, let's remove it.
If you are, and you're just not, you know, being
too consistent with it, maybe this is your sign to
start figuring out a schedule for yourself to make that
money worth it.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Right.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
You obviously don't want to be subscribing to things that
you're not using because then we're just wasting money. So
if you need to cancel any apps, cancel any gym
memberships that might be you know, just wasting money away
that you're not using, it's important to do that now.
Just unsubscribe from anything that you're not using. Another one
is just saving more money. So if that was one
of your goals for this year was to just be
(20:32):
better financially and just you know, be more cautious of
how you're spending your money or how you're saving your
money from your paychecks, this might be a good time
to kind of just review if you're actually doing that
in a proper way. And if you're about to get
to the end goal that you wanted. Maybe you have,
you know, this goal of how much you want to
save before the end of the year, this might be
(20:52):
the time to kind of just like review, are you
actually getting to that goal?
Speaker 2 (20:55):
Are you not?
Speaker 1 (20:56):
Do you need to save a bit more, do you
need to work a little bit harder, whatever the case
you but I think it's important to just really do
that financial reset. That way, you know that you're on
the right track. You're not wasting any money. Everything that
you're putting your money towards is worth it, and you're
reviewing your spending habits, you know, your budgets all that. Now,
if you're that kind of person that wants to make
(21:16):
extra money. For an example, this kind of goes back
to the decluttering of cleaning out your closet. I see
a lot of girls actually selling their clothes off like
the Facebook marketplace or creating Instagram pages or anything like that.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
I definitely need to do this.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
I have a bunch of dresses that I've just kind
of put to the side that I know I want
to sell, but I just haven't had the chance of
like taking photos and uploading it.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
To the app.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
But if you want to make a little bit extra
money that you know you want to get rid of
some things, that's a great way to declutter but also
make a bit of money out of it. I always
find like a declutter your closet and sell clothes on
I think there's like Deppop, Poshmark and then the Facebook
marketplace or again selling it through Instagram. Another thing that
I think is important to do for our midyear reset
(21:59):
is reassessing your rituals. And what I mean by that
is I feel like I always talk about this, but
each season, I think we always have an adjustment to
our routine. So for me, in the winter season, you know,
I'm not really outside much.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
I'm more indoors.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
I still like to go to my workout classes, but
I don't really prioritize my walking. You know, I bought
an indoor treadmill to help me out with that. But
it just it's a very different routine in the winter
versus my summers. In my summers, I try and wake
up earlier. I tried to go for long walks, I
try to be outside as much as possible, you know,
get my workouts in all that. So I'm always adjusting
(22:34):
my rituals and my routines throughout each season, and I
think it's kind of important to do that because I
think it creates a bit of change, which is good
because I think when you're doing the same thing for
too long, you're going to start kind of getting bored
of it and not really looking forward to doing those things.
Whereas when you actually change your routine and you start
creating new rituals or new habits and you bring it
(22:57):
into a new season, I think it's something that you
enjoy more and you look forward to more. So kind
of reassess your rituals into the season, and if you
want to add anything new, maybe remove things that you
didn't really like or you're getting bored of trying different
workouts all that. Like, just really just create a summer
ritual for yourself that you don't already have and it
(23:19):
might just create more excitement, more motivation, and allow yourself
to actually stick to that routine. Another one is creating
a mood board for the summer. We've talked about this
a lot, but if you haven't done this yet, this
is something to really reflect on for each season. So,
because obviously we're in the summer season, I've created a
summer mood board for myself. And I feel like mood
(23:40):
boards also help me not only like achieve these goals
that I have for myself for the summer, but also
just kind of like how I again see my persona.
So if I want to dress a certain way, like I,
you know, I say all these photos from Pinterest and
I'm like, Ooh, I really want my fashion to be,
you know, like this, where it's more caprice, more modest,
less crop tops, like I kind of have like a
(24:02):
vision for myself, right, Or maybe it's like, oh, I've
been really liking the fun colors and esthetics to the home,
so buying really colorful mugs or colorful bowls and like
really just kind of tying in the summer season with
things that I'm purchasing as well. Right, So I don't know,
I think it's all about just kind of reflecting your
mood board and your current season and your current day
(24:25):
to day life when it comes to like summer clothes,
things that you want for your home, or it could
be like summer sense when you think of like perfume
and candles, like reflecting your home based off the scent
of the season. You know, flowers, I think of hydranges
in the summer, summer eating, so like finding fruits maybe
that reflect the season that's really popular right now, like peaches, mangoes.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
All that. So really just creating.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
This mood board for yourself for each season and kind
of just like really visualizing how you want to reflect
yourself into this season. I think it is, yeah, something
that's always fun to do and again creates some excitement
and change and yeah, makes you feel like you're really
romanticizing your life, which we know we're all about that.
(25:11):
We always talk about doing that, and I think it
just creates excitement of the little things that we do
every single day and just makes you enjoy it ten
times more. And then the last thing when it comes
to our midyear reset is a mid year glow up.
So maybe there's appointments that you haven't really done in
a long time, Like maybe it's a hair appointment, or
(25:31):
maybe it's your nail appointment that you haven't done in
a long time, try and change things up. Maybe it's
trying a different haircut, you know, going shorter, going blonder,
going darker. Maybe it's changing up your skincare routine or
actually you know, doing monthly facials, or maybe it's creating
like new routines and rituals for yourself. Or maybe it's
(25:53):
trying a new lipstick, like it could literally be anything,
or trying out new blushes. For example, I've been really
on blush TikTok right now, Like I've seen a lot
of influencers just talking about new summer shades of blushes.
And I'm that kind of person where I pretty much
have a very basic makeup routine, Like I just kind
of stick to the same stuff. Whatever looks good, great,
I don't really.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Change it up.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
But when it comes to blushes, I've been actually changing
up the blush colors I've been using, And lately I've
been using like a bright red, which I never thought
a bright red would look good on me, but I
heard it's actually supposed to like reflect that sun burnt
sun kiss look, and I started to see girls with
similar skin tones to me who was using a red
(26:32):
blush and it looked insane on them. So now I'm
using red blush, like bright bright red blush, which I
never thought I would ever use. But it's been something
that's a nice change. It's been like a nice little
glow up. I feel like, you know, after I've been
on the sun all day and I do a little
bit of makeup and then I add this new blush
and I've been obsessed with it just kind of creates excitement,
It creates more confidence than myself all that. So it's
(26:54):
good to always change up your makeup products sometimes, or
your skincare, or just something new in general, because, let's
be honest, sometimes we have a little mid year crisis.
It's just the reality. So if you're feeling that way
and you've been wanting to try something new or different,
it's always okay to do a little glow up and
just change things up, whether it's changing your nail colors,
changing your haircut or your hair color, or just trying
(27:17):
new makeup products. So that's kind of how the mid
year hawkrel reset is. So if you haven't done that,
yet I highly recommend doing it. I think it's a
great way to go in for the next six months
mentally and just know how much else you have to
achieve yourself. It creates that motivation maybe if you've been
slacking and you feel like you just needed that boost
of motivation or just energy or just mood in general.
(27:38):
I highly recommend taking these tips that I just talked
about and just kind of really bring it into your
day to day life for the next six months. And
I'm telling you right now, you're going to see a
difference before the end of the year. The last thing
I want to talk about is competence. I want to
talk about confidence this summer because I do have a
few things that I want to touch on when it
comes to feeling more competent, because I think there's times
(28:01):
that we go through kind of like what I said,
and you go through like a mid year crisis, you
might not be feeling yourself and you want to find
ways to just boost your confidence and feel just.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
Better about yourself and just show up for yourself.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
So one thing that I actually really loved that I
heard from I think Mel Robbins podcast was she was
talking about your daily wins. So thinking of the three
wins of each day, so each day you can reflect
on your journal and you can write down three things
that you did that you were proud of. So it
could be the smallest things like I actually drank, you know,
(28:33):
two liters of water today. I stopped scrolling at ten pm.
I stopped scrolling at my phone at nine pm. I
actually went to bed at ten pm tonight instead of
eleven pm because I wanted to wake up four five am.
So just write down the little things, because I don't
think you realize how proud of yourself that you should
be for doing those little things that you actually wanted
(28:54):
to achieve for yourself. I always talk about like I'm
always lacking water, So if I can actually fit two
of my water bottles in a day, I try and
make that a win for myself because that's something that
I don't do every day. So if I do actually
finish it, I'm very proud of myself, and I want
to make sure that I create this accomplishment for myself
because even though it is small, it does create a
(29:15):
bit of confidence in yourself. Another thing is just trying
new things this summer that might feel out of your
comfort zone. I ended up trying my first legree class
last week, and we're in June. I've been talking about
trying Lagree since January. I think that was something that
I just, you know, kind of always made excuses for
in terms of like, oh, well, you know, I go
to pilates, I don't really need to go try lagree,
(29:35):
like or oh, you know, I'm There's just always an
excuse that I just kind of always made up. And
then I finally pushed myself and I decided to go
to this class. I decided to go with my sister,
so doing it together again made it more fun.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Doing it with a friend.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
We both didn't know what we were doing, so it
was kind of more fun in that sense of like, hey,
we're doing this together.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
We're trying something new together. It's something different.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
But again, pushing yourself might actually surprise you and make
you realize that it might be something that you actually
really enjoy.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
And I did actually really enjoy Lagree.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
I've had a few comments and messages asking if I
liked it better than pilates or how would I compare,
But because I only did one class, I feel like
I can't give a deep dive of the difference between
like the reform or that I use that pilates versus
Lagree reformer. It's both obviously very different, but I feel
like they were both hard in different ways. So I
(30:25):
will give my honest review on that when I've done
it a bit more, because I feel like I've only
done one class, so I can't give a full review
on it, but I will definitely do an in depth
review of what I prefer or maybe like why I
prefer one over the other. I think another thing when
it comes to confidence is start showing up for yourself.
So if you feel like you've been lacking working out,
(30:49):
or just lacking in general in terms of like, you know,
might have not been doing the things that you used
to do, like journaling or you know, drinking water every
single day, or you know, just like doing healthy habits
that you used to do that you haven't been doing anymore.
And maybe you're starting to notice the lack of confidence
from not putting the effort in yourself because you're not
doing those little things, then maybe this is a sign
(31:11):
that you need to start showing up for yourself again
and do those things that you told.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
Yourself you were going to do.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
I think it's important to just never give up and
know that definitely things can get hard, and you know,
sometimes we feel like we're in this tough situation. But
I think we always used to need to have that
mindset of going back and realizing that when we do
these little things that it does feel good and that
we do get ourselves out of this negative headspace, and
that it creates a positive mindset for yourself, which allows
(31:39):
you to want to show up for yourself and create
that confidence that you wanted to rebuild for yourself. And
not only do we need to show up for ourself
and you know, create this positive mindseset for ourself and
all that, but we need to also surround ourself with
people that really just bring that positive energy that you
want to continue throughout your daily lifestyle. So try and
(31:59):
be social and surround yourself with people that are like
minded like you. The last thing you want is to
be around people who are going to bring you down
and just be negative and just like not fill your cup.
I think you really just need to be around people
who are also very goal oriented and motivated and maybe
uplift you and make you feel confident and make you
feel good. If you're with these people who aren't bringing
(32:22):
that positive energy, then you're not gonna have the positive
girl summer that you wanted. You're gonna create this negativity
for yourself that you.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
Don't want or you don't need.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
So just make sure to surround yourself with positive and
kind people like yourself. Finding groups of friends maybe for
different things. Like I said, I have friends for my
workout classes, I have friends for my walks. I have friends,
you know when it comes to maybe social settings and
going to restaurants and all that. Like, there's gonna be
friends for so many different things and so many different reasons,
(32:52):
and I think it's important just to always be around
those people that are always going to just uplift you
and bring that positive energy that you want for this
summer season. So those are my tips for maybe just
feeling a bit more confident this summer, as well as
just your midyear reset of how you're going to completely
just get back into your grind, your motivation, and how
(33:15):
you're going to actually achieve these goals for yourself before
the end of the year. But I'm going to end
this episode off here. I hope you guys have an
amazing week and amazing weekend. For all my Canadian girlies,
