Speaker 1 (00:13):
Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
Hawkerel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kaylee, and this is
your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
a new mindset, and another day for you to become
the Hawkerel Energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
Happy Wednesday, Welcome back to another episode. I hope you
guys are having an amazing week so far. I have

(00:34):
been such a busy bee lately. I feel like things
have just been like approaching really quickly, because I think
already going into mid July, I already feel like so
many fun summer things is happening, and you know, just
planning trips and batcherette weekends and anyways, I just feel
like summer is literally approaching so fast. The point where

(00:56):
all I could think about is the end of August
and the beginning of September and making a pumpkin season
and fall, which is so crazy. But you know, summer
is very short and sweet. I do find it goes
by so quickly. But I'm just trying to soak up
all the weekends of just relaxing, enjoying the summer weather.
Really just kind of taking the weekend slow and enjoying

(01:16):
the time of being outside and such. I definitely feel
like I've done a really good job this summer specifically
of really just kind of taking a step back on
the weekends of just not really being on social media,
just kind of you know, doing my thing with my
friends or with my family or with Zach. Like I've
kind of been posting like updates on the Sunday of
everything I did on Friday and Saturday and just kind

(01:37):
of not really be on socials Friday and Saturday, which, honestly,
it's been like a really nice kind of mental health
break for me as well, from like not constantly being
on social media and scrolling on my phone and all that.
It's been like a really good kind of like social
media detox of just like allowing myself to not work
obviously and enjoying time with friends and family and just yeah,

(01:57):
I've been really enjoying it and just kind of giving
a recap on Sunday or Monday of things that happened
throughout the weekend, and yeah, really just being present and
enjoying the in the moment experiences. So last weekend, I
had a bit of a solo weekend. Zach was gone
for a ball tournament, which is so funny because whenever
he goes to these ball tournaments, I swear he always

(02:18):
runs into followers, which is so crazy that you guys
recognize Zach and you guys will just go.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Up to him and just say like, oh my god,
we follow your wife or whatever.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
So he came back on Sunday and he was just
telling me that he'd ran into a few of you guys.
So it was so funny that you guys saw him.
But he was in a ball tournament this weekend, so
I had a bit of.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
A solo weekend.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
On Friday, I actually went out with my girlfriends downtown,
which who am I? I never go out ever, so
it was a very much needed girls night. We actually
went to Chateau Laurier. If you're from Ottawa, there's this
beautiful patio at the Chateau Laurier that overlooks the parliament
called La Terres. So we went there because my girlfriend
was proposing to her bridesmaids, which I am one of them,

(02:59):
and she did a really cute setup and we literally
just had the best night. She had champagne for us,
she made these cute little cards with just like pictures
and memories that we've shared with her, and instead of
like doing a proposal box with all this random stuff,
instead she decided to pay for an experience.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
So we ended up doing this.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Little teeky boat situation where it basically looks like a
tiki hut and it's a boat that goes on the
Ottawa River and you kind of just see like sights
of Ottawa and there's a bar so you can obviously
get a few drinks and just kind of mingle with
the girls and all that. So there was about I
think nine of us on this teeky hout boat and yeah,
it was such a fun experience to do with the girls,

(03:38):
and then we went out to dinner after and yeah,
that was kind of that night. And then Saturday morning
we were all feeling a little hungover. Not gonna lie,
I only had three drinks, but because I don't drink,
I feel like everything just hits so much harder. I
had literally one shot, and I'm like, oh my gosh,
what am I doing here? Like, Oh, anyways, don't ever

(03:58):
do shots. You only tap of shots. I'll be doing
is ginger shots, not tequila, vodka whatever shots they're giving me.
But Anyways, took a shot, had a few apprell spritses,
was feeling a little too good, woke up feeling like
crap on Saturday. Not gonna lie, but I was like,
you know what, I never do that. It was a
fun little girl's weekend.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
I'm not gonna complain about that.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
And I ended up going to my girlfriend's cottage because
it's not that far from here, It's about an hour away.
So we just went up for the day and we
went on her pontoon boat and she had one of
those floating mats that you can attach to the boat
and tan on and you're in the middle of the lake.
So we were on this floating mat for like, I think,
like four hours I'm not even over exaggerating, in the
middle of the lake, just chilling, talking, catching up. And

(04:41):
we did that from like one pm to like five pm,
and then we went on a little sunset boat ride,
enjoyed the sunset, and then I came home. In Sunday,
I wanted to do a whole Sunday reset, and I
was just so tired from being in the sun all
day on Saturday that I literally just had the most
chill Sunday, which is so Okay, you have to listen
to your body and not like force things on yourself.

(05:01):
I did do a workout on Sunday, which I was
very proud of myself for doing, because I was already
so tired from you know, going out Friday and you know,
being out in the sun all day at the cottage
on Saturday that I really was shocked that I was
able to get to the workout class. But I was
proud of myself for that. But I decided to just
you know, not do a little reset and just kind
of listen to my body and just chill. And I

(05:22):
just went to my parents' backyard and I literally just
sat on their couch for maybe four hours and just
kind of chilled.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
It was really nice.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
So anyways, very much a fun solo weekend with the
girls and just enjoying some you know, chill time.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Which was really nice.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
And next weekend, not this coming weekend, but the following weekend,
I go to my best friends bachourette in Montreal, which
I'm very excited about. And then this weekend, I think
Zach and I are just doing a few date nights
because we haven't really had a few date nights in
the summer. Yet we have two places that we really
want to go to that we usually go to for
date nights, So it's very much going to be a

(05:57):
cute little couple weekend. Him and I just kind of
enjoying a summer weekend together. So I'm very excited about that.
But I hope you guys are having a good summer
so far. I wanted to talk about July goals because
we never touched on that last episode, which was my
first episode of July, and we did a sip and
spill episode with my sister, so if you haven't listened

(06:17):
to that episode, make sure to do so.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
We answered a lot of.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Questions that you guys had just about advice on friendships, breakups,
you know, career changes, all that, and then this episode,
I really wanted to make it about just July goals,
things that I'm trying to achieve this month, on top
of just summer must haves and favorites, because we're halfway
through the summer now and I feel like there's a
lot of things that I've recently got that I wanted

(06:42):
to share with you guys that I've been loving for
the summer. When it comes to skincare products, beauty products,
you know, apparel pieces, recipes. I've been loving all that.
I just always loved doing these kind of episodes because
I feel like I do it maybe once every three months.
I kind of just touch based on a few things
that I've recently discovered that I really love, and I
know you guys love hearing those things as well, because

(07:02):
it could be something that you can try out or
something that you've been thinking about trying out. All that.
So this episode's really just going to be about must
have and favorite things that I've recently discovered for the
summer season. So let's talk about my July goals, because
I have some new goals this month that I really
wanted to achieve.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
A lot of it actually has to do.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
With my eating habits, because I feel like I could
make some changes. I've been snacking a lot, and I
think it's very normal in the summer to indulge and
obviously kind of like get off track a bit because
I feel like we're socializing more. We're going to cottage weekends,
you know, we're kind of just getting out of the
house more, right, We're going out for dinners all that.

(07:41):
So I feel like on the weekends I've been kind
of like eating like shit, to be honest, and then
during the week I'm back on track, you know, back
with healthy eating all that. So I'm trying to find
a bit more of a happy medium where I'm more
confident with how I'm you know eating throughout the week
and the weekends, like not in a toxic way at all.
Just like you know, I snack, for example, a lot,

(08:02):
like I love eating chips and salsa or you know,
just like things.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
That I probably like do need to do that probably not.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Like instead of having chips and salsa, maybe I can
have apple and peanut butter with instead, which is probably
a healthier alternative, right, So just kind of.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Like substituting certain things and just kind.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Of like prioritizing you know, eating healthier throughout the week
as well, because I think with me eating like crap
on the weekend is now affecting how I'm eating throughout
the week because I you know, get too attached to
those foods where I'm like, ooh, I'm creating that like
I want to eat that right now. So overall, I'm
just trying to find healthier alternatives and get back into
more of a healthier routine throughout the week when it
comes to my eating habits, and one thing that I've

(08:41):
actually been doing more this month already is meal prepping.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
So lunch is something that I feel.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Like I always struggle with just because I don't know,
I just don't really love lunch.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
I'd rather just have a breakfast.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
And dinner and be good, But obviously not eating is
not good at all, So I've been trying to find
some recipes on Pinterest that are high protein to prep
doesn't take too much time obviously doesn't cost too much either.
This week I actually made a Greek passa salad, which
I used to make all the time last summer. I
was obsessed with it, and I think I had it
too much last summer where I was getting sick and

(09:13):
tired of it. So I haven't had it in almost
a year, and I decided to make it this week,
and I'm obsessed with how good it tastes like. I'm
actually so happy I made it. It's a chick peat
protein pasta, so it has about twenty grams per serving,
and I just put like peppers, red onion, cucumber, grape tomatoes, feta, cheese,
and then a Greek dressing on top, very simple, very

(09:35):
easy to prep and yeah, I've just been loving that.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
So I did that this week.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Last week I did a taco salad, so I prepped
ground beef with taco seasoning and I bought this like
Mexican salad mixed from Costco, added some sweet potato, some avocado,
and had myself a little lunch for the week. So
I have expressed how meal prepping has always been a
hit and miss for me because I don't love eating
the same thing every day. But what I've been trying

(10:00):
to do is I've been trying to, you know, use
the stuff that I prepped and kind of create it
in a different way. So today I actually had the
passa salad on the side, and then I also cooked
a chicken breast, so I had kind of it as
a side versus just like the whole meal. So kind
of doing that so kind of taste a bit different.
I'm not just having the passa salad. I'm having two
different things. So I've been trying to do that that way,
I'm not eating the same thing every day. So that's

(10:20):
what I've been doing, trying to just make it taste
a little bit different. Another thing I'm trying to make
a goal this month is doing more hobbies and stuff
on my summer bucket list.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
So I feel like there's a lot of things that
I talked about.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Like running, pickleball, tennis, golf, all that, and I feel
like Zach and I haven't really had the time to
do those things.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
So I really want to try and make it.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
A priority, whether it's a night after work or you know,
a Sunday morning or something like that. If we're really
busy on the Saturday and Friday and we don't you know,
have the time to do those hobbies at that time,
let's try and make it a priority by doing it
throughout our schedule. So for us, you know, Thursday nights
are usually free, so maybe we need to make Thursday
nights a night where we can go play pickleball or tennis,
or go for a round of golf, or go to

(11:00):
the driving range, whatever it is. So I think we
just need to both kind of realize that we only
have like maybe seven weeks of summer left and just
kind of take it as a sign that we should
really make these next few weeks a priority of just
you know, throwing in these little hobbies that we love
to do and just again gets us outside, It gets
us off our phones, it gets us to just kind
of get outside together and do something fun. So yeah,

(11:22):
definitely something I want to do. On top of just
going through my summer bucket liss again and trying to
like check off things that I haven't done. There's actually
three things that we're doing this weekend that I just
thought of that are on my bucket list that I've
been wanting to do with Zach. So I'm really excited
about that. We're going to do a wine tour at
this vineyard close by.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
We're going to go to.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
The Farmer's market on Saturday, and then I think we're
going to go out for dinner either at this restaurant
we love, or we're going to do like a picnic
at the beach with pizza because every mid July we
usually do a little pizza beach night, So I'm excited
for that. The last goal of mine I really want
to make a priority is reading more. So I've been

(12:03):
trying to make my weekend mornings a priority to instead
of scroll on my phone or work, and because I'm
trying to be more present on the weekends is read.
So taking like, you know, two hours of whether it's
tanning outside or sitting outside to eat breakfast or with
my coffee, to just like take an hour even or
even thirty minutes just to read a few pages of

(12:24):
a book. I recently just purchased the second book of
The Housemaid. I think I told you guys that I
read that book when I was in Mexico with Zach.
I was obsessed with it. They're coming out with a movie,
I believe in December, and I really wanted to read
the second book, so I just recently ordered that on
the kindle. So I only read the first like maybe
two chapters, like very much. Not into the book right now,

(12:47):
but I really want to finish that book before the
end of the summer. That way, I get to three
books completed for the year so far. I think my
goal was twelve, which I feel like that was so
bold of me. But maybe we can at least make sick.
I think we could do six, because I do think
I'm going on another trip at the end of August.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
I don't know yet.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
I will confirm next episode if we are going away
or not. Zach's been trying to get time off work
for us to go somewhere for our anniversaries. So guys,
I'm like, oh my god, the fact I have to
say that, I cannot believe it's our first wedding anniversary
in like three weeks, which is.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
So wild to me. How have I been married for
a year.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Oh my gosh, Sorry that just clicked and I'm just like, wow,
crazy time flies. But yeah, so we're thinking of doing
something for our anniversary. It's not going to be on
our anniversary weekend. It's probably going to be like a
week or two after that. But still the purpose of
the trip was just to kind of celebrate our one
year of marriage. So I'm hoping and crossing my fingers
that Zach can get the time off work. But if

(13:44):
I'm going on another trip, then you best be knowing
that I'll be ordering at least one or two books
to read, because I know for a fact that I'm
going to be sitting on those beach chairs and just scrolling.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
On my phone when I don't need to do that.
I can definitely find an.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Hour at least an hour of that beach session of
reading my books. So maybe we could read two books
that trip. That would be a very impressive goal. For myself,
but let's just maybe say one, let's be more realisticure
for me, but at the end of the day, we're
definitely going to read at least one or two books
before the end of the summer. So those are my
July goals that are new, I would say. The other
goals that I've tried to maintain throughout the summer is

(14:19):
obviously continuing my five am morning routine, which I've been loving,
going on my sunrise walks, trying to make walking a
big priority. I try and go for like two to
three walks a day to get to ten thousand steps,
and then you know, trying to do some type of
workout throughout each day. I've been working out like six
times a week, which honestly might be too much on
my body some days, but I do love working out.

(14:41):
It's not like it's a punishment, like I just love it. It's
just my body's been telling me you need to slow down,
you're overdoing it sometimes, Like sometimes I'll do two workouts
in one day. I know that sounds crazy, but it's
because I actually want to do the workouts.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
I just I have so much fun in these classes.
I think it's so enjoyable.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
But yeah, sometimes I think I need to like listen
to my body and just relax and not overdo it
too much sometimes. But yeah, still incorporating those goals as
well throughout the summer. But I just wanted to share
new ones that I've been trying to make a priority
this month. All right, So let's get into some summer
must haves and favorites so far. As I said, we're
already halfway through summer, so I thought I would share

(15:18):
some things that I've been loving this summer so far
that I had recently purchased or have purchased a few
weeks back, that I thought I would share with you guys.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
So let's talk about.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
Beauty in skincare products first. One thing that I've been
loving that I actually just got, I think two or
three weeks ago, is a tinted sunscreen that I just
recently came across, this brand called Isden. It's a tinted
SBF fifty and it's so good, guys. The color match
for my skin is spectacular. I believe they have different
shades as well, so if you are more fair skin,

(15:49):
they have ones that are more fair. If you're more
of like an olive skin tone like me, where you're
a bit darker, they have that and then you know
the shades go on. But I absolutely love it. I
feel like the texture is so sheer, which is what
I love about a face sunscreen. I hate when something
takes forever to absorb in your skin. And yeah, just
ten out of ten recommend it. It was something that I've

(16:10):
never used before in my life, but it was a
really good find. I got it off the brand Dirm Store,
So if you're looking for is Den sunscreen specifically, I
think it's very difficult to get in Canada if you're
from Canada, so Dirm store sells it if you're interested
and you're from Canada, I believe if you're in the States,
it's really easy to get off Amazon or honestly anywhere.
Can we also talk about just how much of a

(16:31):
difference it makes when you are tanned in the summer.
I feel like my confidence has been so much better
since the winter. I just feel like having a tan
just literally revives me. I don't even know how to
explain it, but I feel like even putting makeup on,
I just feel ten times better and I feel prettier
than I ever have like. I don't know if anyone
can relate to that, But one thing that I've been

(16:52):
loving while doing my makeup on top of a tan obviously,
is trying out different blush colors. I've recently started to
incorporate different colors. One specifically I started to try out
recently is a bright red blush. I never thought bright
red would look good on my skin tone, but I'm
obsessed with it. I find it really does achieve that
like sun burnt look. I also really love the peachy

(17:14):
and corai blushes. I know. Hailey Bieber's brand Road just
came out with this new blush that everyone's raving about
from her new I think it's like her Lemonade collection
or something like that. They came up with new blush
shades and it's more of like a peachey coral one
and I've been dying to get my hands on it
because it looks so gorgeous. But yeah, I've been trying
to experiment with different blushes just because now that I'm

(17:34):
tanned and feeling more confident, might as well try some
fun colors out and see how it looks on my
skin tone. So I've been trying to do different makeup
for the summer, to change it up a bit. I
still kind of use the same like foundation and concealer
and all that, but I'm trying to have fun with
like my blushes, my eyeshadow, and my lip color as well.
I am pretty basic when it comes to my makeup,

(17:55):
just because, like, I do what works for me, and
I don't really like changing it when I think it
looks good. But sometimes is good to obviously change it
up a little bit and get out of your comfort zone.
We talked about this a few weeks ago, but I'm
still obsessed with the freckle pens. Me and my sister
are hooked on the freckle pens from Amazon. Literally, the
most natural freckles I am obsessed with is how it
makes my face look. I find it just makes me

(18:16):
look a bit more tanned as well. I'm obsessed with
just freckle pens in general. I just find freckles on
your nose and your face are so beautiful. At TikTok
that I recently saw from a girl, she was doing
the freckle trend on her face, but instead of using
a freckle pen, she was actually using Hannah. So if
you guys don't know what Hannah is. It's essentially just
temporary body art that you can use and it lasts

(18:37):
about like.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Two to three weeks.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
So I've been seeing a few girls do this on
their face and the freckles look very natural. You can,
you know, wash your face and it wouldn't come off.
So it lasts for a few weeks, which is nice,
and you don't have to like reapply it all the time.
So I've been wanting to order it from Amazon and
try it out. I will let you guys know how
it goes. Obviously, it's something that I've never done before,
so I don't want to like over sell it. But

(19:00):
if you search Hannah on TikTok and you or Hennah Freckles, Sorry,
don't just search Hannah, search Hennah freckles, You'll see some
girls do it and you'll see how natural and good
it looks. And it's just been something I've been wanting
to try out. Another thing I've been loving is the
Kapari Face sunscreen. Wow, this sunscreen is insane. I know
I talked about the tinted sunscreen, but when I have

(19:23):
makeup on and I want to reapply my SPF, the
Kapari one is the best because it's a spray, so
you don't have to worry about ruining your makeup because
think sunscreen, you think lotion, and when you apply it
on your face, obviously it's going to ruin your makeup.
But this one by Kapari is a setting spray or
a setting mist, and it's an SPF fifty and every
two hours you can just reapply it and it's kind

(19:44):
of got this like glowy look as well to it.
So highly recommend this. You can get it off Revolve,
I believe, and from the Kapari website as well. Another
thing that I recently discovered is a body glow. So
I feel like body glow has been really popular these
past few years, to be honest. And one brand that
recently just launched this new body glow that I got

(20:05):
in pr I think about, I don't know, like a
month ago, is the brand Lacutane. It's like this shimmery
body oil. Oh my god, guys. Someone actually commented on
a video two weeks ago of me using the product,
and I didn't think anyone would notice, and then this
girl message she's like, wow, your tan looks amazing, Like

(20:25):
what did you use on your body? Like, it just
looks so glowy, and I'm like it worked. Somebody noticed
it looks good. It did make me look much tanner,
to be honest, I think just because the oil creates
like that deeper tan look as well. But it's by
the brand Locutane. You can get it at Sephora. It's
so good, guys, I can't even describe like how I
feel about this product. It's I've been using it every day,

(20:46):
not even gonna lie just putting it on my arms,
my chest, you can put it honestly everywhere, and it's
really good for like a pre going out look as well.
So obviously doing makeup on your face, it's important to
put the body glow as well on to really just
add to your outfit. I feel like it's an accessory now,
like it really just emphasizes your whole outfit when you

(21:07):
have bodyglow on. I'm not a big perfume girl, but
I did recently get this brand called per They do
a lot of good perfume sense and they just came
out with a few different scents and one that they
just came out with is called Pure Vanilla, and it's
a vanilla sent and it smells insane, so I've been
using that whenever.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
I go out.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
It's also a hair perfume as well, so you can
really just spread everywhere, which I love. And then I've
also been really into hair mass right now, just because
i feel like with the summer season, I feel like
the sun and you know, salt water when you're in
like the pool or the lake, it's kind of stripping
on the hair. So I've been trying to do some

(21:49):
hair mass. I've been also trying to get my hands
on some SBF for your hair. That is a thing
you can get sunscreen for your hair, just to protect
it from you know, changing colors, stripping anything like that
or anything that could be damaging.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
So just trying to.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
Make my hair health a priority throughout the summer season
as well. All right, let's talk about some clothing products
that I've recently got that I've been really loving this summer.
I recently just got these new flip flops and I'm
obsessed with them. They have a white thong that is
what I'm gonna call it, just because it's the little
piece that's in between your toes and then the bottom

(22:25):
part's black, but I love when flip flops are colorful.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
I feel like it's been really fun for summer.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
I just ordered a red pair of flip flops. I
love my black pair by the brand Haviana. If you
guys don't know the Haaviana flip flops, you need to
get on it. Square toe flip flops has changed my life.
I'm not even over exaggerating. It's so much more higher end.
I think the new pair that I got actually is
round now that I think of it. But I do
really like the square toe flip flops. I think they're

(22:51):
like the best in my opinion. But I just got
a cute pair from the brand Jeffrey Campbell from Revolve,
super affordable, and it just has like a white thong
versus black one. But I just like how the colors
contrast's really nice together and it's still very much a
neutral flip flop that you could wear with anything. So yeah,
I recently got those from Revolve. I also recently just
got sun dresses, so summer dresses, just being able to

(23:14):
slip on a dress when you leave the house. I
just felt like I needed a few dresses, so I
had that option of just throwing something on when I leave.
I just recently got this poka dot dress from Zara,
and I'm obsessed with it. It's like this white dress
with brown polka dots on it, and it's a Maxi dress.
It's like I think it was like sixty bucks.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
Very flattering.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
I will make sure to link it in case any
of you guys are interested, but really like that dress.
I think it's very flattering for the summer season. I
also got this white summer dress. I feel like white
in the summer just hits different. I ordered a lot
of white. I'm not even over exaggerating. I feel like
my bridal era again. But there's something that just hits
different in the summer with white. I think it's because

(23:54):
I never wear white in the winter because I feel
so pale. So in the summer when I'm feeling tanned,
I really want to wear white. So anything white I'm
basically buying. Or anything yellow, pale yellow has been so
in I've been loving yellow tank tops, yellow dresses, yellow
tube tops. Honestly, anything yellow I'm wearing right now. I
also love anything striped or plaid. So if I see

(24:15):
any cute like matching sets, whether it's at a top
in a skirt or a mini dress, anything striped or
plaid or even tank tops to wear with like you know,
cargo pants or linen pants. Linen pants are also obviously
really big in the summer. Love going for something with
some pattern. I also love wearing bucket hats or cowboy
hats in the summer to protect my face just from

(24:36):
having too much sun. I also love crochet bandanas. I
think that's been really cute for European summer. If you
want that European look, the crochet bandanas have been very
in and then obviously bucket hats have been in forever.
But I just love, you know, wearing hats more in
the summer because I feel like it's something to have
as an accessory and you can just really style it

(24:57):
in any way you want with your like bikinis or
outfits for your summer look. For workout sets, I've been
loving really colorful workout sets. I think in the summer
it's time to just pick colors that are really out
of your comfort zone, things that are really bright and fun,
whether it's royal blue or red, or baby pink or
bright yellow. Like wearing colors that are just like very summery.

(25:20):
I think makes it more fun to wear something like
that to a workout class or pilates or.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Whatever the case may be.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
I also have been loving the layering workout sets, So
when you layer your sports bra with another sports bra,
I've been doing fun colors, like two different shades of
blue or you know, white and yellow or pink and red.
Like just having fun with the colors of your sports
bra and doing the layering I think is really really
cute as well. Another thing that I think is a

(25:49):
must have for the summer season is a good clutch.
I have been raving about my Arafia clutch that I
got from Dynamite. If you guys follow me on Instagram,
that you guys know the clutch I'm talking about because
that's all I wear, like literally every single one of
my Instagram stories, you guys are like, oh my god,
the clutch is back at it again, because I'm that
obsessed with it. It's the perfect summer bag because it's small,

(26:10):
but you can fit so much in this bag, like
I'm not even over exaggerating, and I think it's like
thirty nine dollars. It's super affordable, and I just bring
it everywhere with me, and it's just the perfect go
to clutch that I've been.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
Using all summer long.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
The last thing that I would say for apparel that's
a must have for the summer is a good pair
of sunnies. I think the sunglasses are a huge accessory
that everybody needs to have, Like any good type of sunglass,
you just need a staple sunglass for the summer. You
can get so many cute pairs from Amazon. My sister
actually just recently got a pair that comes in a

(26:44):
three pack with three different shades and it's like a
really like stunning kind of square oval frame. I will
link them and I just recently ordered them myself because
I really like them, and I think it was like
twelve dollars for three, which we love. We love affordable sunglasses.
And then I have my go to pair that are
a bit more expensive. They're from the brand Valet. You
probably have seen me wear them. I've worn them since

(27:06):
my trip to Mexico, to be honest. They're just like
a really nice black oval sunny. They're just like very
very chic in my opinion, like just like a staple
sunglass to have in your collection. I know I'm going
to wear them for a very long time. I feel
like it's something that's not really going to go out
of style. But they're very flattering, and again they were
a bit more on the expensive side, but I know
I'm going to get a lot of use out of them.

(27:26):
I've already been wearing them so much. But you know,
I do find it's worth investing in sunglasses if they
look really good on you, you know what I mean, Like
if you think these sunglasses suit your face really well.
And some people do struggle to find sunglasses that suit
their face, whether it's too big or too small on
your face. Like when you find a good pair, I
feel like sometimes it's worth splurging and getting a good

(27:47):
pair of sunnies to the summer. So yeah, definitely make
sure to have a good pair of sunglasses for the
summer season. Okay, let's talk about some recipes that I've
been loving for the summer. I think one thing for
me that I have been really loving for summer recipes
specifically is summer salads. I love having a salad in
the summer. I think it just hits different. Making different

(28:09):
types of salads like a watermelon mint salad is something
I've been doing I've also been loving the peach barada salads.
That's actually something we're making this week with steak. Oh
I haven't made it with steak. I've only made it
with chicken this summer. But with steak, I think it's
gonna slap. You just add a arugula, red onion, peaches,
and barrada and then you do like a balsamic glaze

(28:30):
on top. Oh my gosh. I will make sure to
post a video maybe making that gener recipe because it's
so good and I think everybody needs to make it themselves.
But I think salads in general just hit so much
different in the summer, and it's something that I always
look forward to making. I also always love having corn.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
On the cob.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
I think that's a must have in the summer because
it's corn season. I love putting corn on the cob
on the barbecue. Like one thing we've been doing since
we got a barbecue is we've been having barbecue chicken
breasts and then we'll put the corn on the cob
on the barbecue as well some broccoli or asparagus, and
we'll just have that for dinner, like something very super
simple like that, And it's always so good, and yeah,

(29:11):
I just love corn on the cob so much. Other
things I've been loving are Greek wraps, pasta salad. As
I said, I've also been loving chicken kebab so chicken
with peppers, onion, bacon, just like putting it on the barbecue,
taco salads, stuffed taco peppers.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
Wood fire pizza.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
My parents actually have a wood fire pizza in their backyard,
and oh my gosh, wood fire pizza just hits so
much different when it's a wood fire versus like an
oven pizza. The taste of it just tastes so much different.
It tastes like restaurant quality pizza. But yeah, wood fire
pizza has been also something we've really been enjoying for
the summer. And then other random things that I just
wanted to share that I've been obviously using a lot

(29:54):
of this summer season is Electrolytes. I feel like, because
it's been super hot out lately, I've been trying to
have electrolate almost every day. I'll try and have like
two bottles of water and then after that I'll have
my electrolytes. Two brands that I've been loving lately is
the brand Pro Mix. They have a flavor called Fuzzy
Peach and Raspberry Salt, so good. I really really like

(30:16):
those two flavors from that brand. And then I've also
been loving Liquid IV. They have a lot of good
flavors from their brand as well. And then I've also
been loving Organica. They have really good flavors like pink lemonade, raspberry, pineapple, mango. Anyways,
I love electrolytes. I do find it's kind of addicting
because it kind of tastes like juice in the adult world,

(30:37):
I find, but there's no sugar in it, so I mean,
there's like stivia and other stuff in it that's probably
not good for you. But hey, Lisa, I'm not drinking
alcohol every night. I also don't even drink soda. The
only soda I'll actually drink is a poppy, but yeah,
not a big soda girl.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
Obviously, I don't really drink throughout the week.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
So I'm like, if electrolytes is the worst thing that
I'm having, even though electrolytes is literally supposed to be
hydrating you, Like, that's essentially what electrolytes is. It's for
hydration purposes. And yeah, so anyways, I love it. I
have it all the time, and it's just something that
I've been trying to incorporate into my routine for the
summer season. I've also been loving my de bloat drink

(31:17):
from Chromix. I'll have that in the morning. I feel
like that's just really helping with inflammation or any bloating
that I'm having in the morning if I've been having
any dairy, because I'm very sensitive to dairy, my stomach
hates me for having dairy, but I'm not ever removing
it from my diet because i love dairy so much.
Another thing I've been loving is doing fun colors for
my manny and petty. I usually get my nails done

(31:39):
and my toes done every month, so I've been really
trying to do fun colors for the summer season.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
I did a bright orange last time.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
This time, I still have the pink nails and I'm
getting my nails done on Thursday, I believe, and I
don't know if I want to do like a fun
baby blue or I've also been thinking about doing a
navy blue. So I did navy blue nails for Mexico
and I loved the dark blue. I did not think
I was gonna love it that much, but I did.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
But I know I'm.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
Gonna be getting into dark nails for the fall, so
I'm like, should I wait or I don't know. I
don't think I'll be doing baby blue nails in the
fall or winter, so that's why I'm like, maybe I
should just do baby blue, but we shall see. I
will make that decision on Thursday. And the last thing
that I try and do in the summer is get
my hair touched up, just like a little gloss or
doing some hair mass or getting a recolored or a

(32:29):
hair trim, whatever the case may be. I'm going to
see my hair dresser next week actually, and I think
we're gonna go a little bit darker because I feel
like with a tan, my hair always looks healthier when
it's a little bit darker, and probably get a gloss.
I don't think I need a trim, which is kind
of nice. I want to keep my hair long. I
might trim my bangs. I don't know how long my

(32:50):
bangs are to be honest, but overall, I'm not going
to do too much. I just kind of wanted to
get it freshened up for the end of the summer
and for fall. So we're just kind of doing a
little mid summer touchup of my hair because the last
time I got it done, I believe was before my birthday,
which was in the spring.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
So I'm due for a little touch up.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
And I feel like that's something that's always good to
prioritize for your confidence, is just doing the little things
that make you feel good, as I said, like whether
it's getting your nails done, getting a little hair appointment done.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Whatever the case may be.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
So those have been my summer must haves and just
favorite things so far that I've been loving for the
summer season.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
But I hope you guys enjoyed this episode. I love
you guys also much.
