Speaker 1 (00:13):
Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
Hawkeral Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kaylee, and this is
your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
a new mindset, and another day if you become the
Hawkral Energy you want to attract. Oh my goodness, guys,
I almost said welcome back to another vlog. I think
I've just been on YouTube so much lately that i

(00:34):
feel like I've been recording with my camera more than
my podcast mike, and naturally, it just felt like I
should say welcome back to another vlog. But obviously this
is not a vlog, this is a podcast episode, But
welcome back to another episode.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Happy October.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
This episode's going up on October first, So I cannot
believe we are entering another new month and literally three
months left in twenty twenty five, which is so crazy.
It's time for us to lock in, really just get
these next three months all focused on just achieving everything
we want to achieve before the end of the year,

(01:12):
and honestly, just enjoy the last few weeks of fall
because fall is super short and it's personally my favorite
time of the year, and this is also probably one
of my favorite months, just because there's so much to
look forward to in October, and I feel like November
for me, I would say the first like two weeks
of November is nice, but then the last two weeks

(01:35):
it's usually like pretty cold, and I immediately just start
thinking of Christmas as soon as November hits.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
So for me, I'm totally not in the fall spirit.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
I'm very much thinking about Christmas prepping and not gonna lie.
I was at home since like what maybe a week ago,
and they already had their Christmas decorations out, which that
was just too much. I'm like, you know, what, hasn't
even been Halloween. I say this every year, but I'm like,
it's just too much just that. But I do try
and take advantage of going to see the stuff because

(02:05):
I do know that usually the best stuff comes out
in the beginning and once it's gone, it's gone. It's
like a home goods like if you go into home
goods and you see something like, you got to snag it,
like you can't just wait on it. So anyways, I've
been kind of slowly planning Christmas, which is wild in
terms of how I want to decorate the house this year.
This is actually going to be our last Christmas in

(02:26):
this house, which literally makes me so sad thinking about that.
But I'm also very excited to decorate in the new
house as well. So anyways, very excited about that time
of the year. But I'm also just really excited for
the last month of fall in.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
My opinion for October.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
And you know, usually I always talk about, you know,
some goals that I'm setting for this month, but I
thought instead of talking about goals, we could talk about
things that I'm looking forward to this month, one of
them being Thanksgiving. So I am Canadian, as some of
you may or may not know, and we actually celebrate
Thanksgiving in two weekends, so not this weekend, but the
following weekend, and it's just one of the weekends that

(03:02):
I always.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Look forward to.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
I think it's just because it brings families together, and
I'm really looking forward to spending time with family and
just really being present and enjoying good food, good company.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
You know.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Zach and I we usually do one day with his
family for dinner and then one day with my family
for dinner, and then we do the whole shebang for Christmas,
where we visit like both sides of the family for Christmas,
meaning like I see my mom's side of the family,
my dad's side of the family, and then same thing
with Zach, I see his mom side of the family
and then his dad's side of the family. Whereas Thanksgiving

(03:37):
we actually rotate. So this year we're seeing my mom's
side of the family, not my dad's, and then we're
seeing Zach's mom side of the family and not his
dad's for Thanksgivings. So that's kind of how we do it,
just because doing for Thanksgivings in one weekend would be
way too much, like we cannot bounce around in two days,
so we decide to just like rotate every year. And yeah,

(04:00):
it's just something that's worked for us. But again very
much just looking forward to good food, some turkey, some
pumpkin pie, some apple pie, and just truly enjoy some
family time. I also always look forward to October because
of course it's fall season, but I also feel like
it's spooky season in October, Like obviously, I think people

(04:20):
take Halloween a bit more seriously. When October hits, I
feel like everybody's watching creepy movies. People are decorating their
front porch, you know, some people go full out for Halloween,
which I love when I see people like put the
skeletons out, you know, put some ghosts out.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Obviously, pumpkins all that.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
So I always love seeing how people decorate their house
for October.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
So I'm very much excited to see that. I'm excited
to go pumpkin picking because me and my sister, we
haven't gone to a pumpkin patch yet. We went to.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
We went apple picking sorry last weekend, which was really fun.
I'm happy we did that because I think apple picking
is usually just for the.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Month of September.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Usually they end it by the last weekend of September,
so I'm pretty sure actually last weekend that we went
to was the last weekend that they were open, and
they didn't actually have much apples left. But it still
was a really fun experience and I'm really happy we
got to do that. But now going into October, I'm
really excited to go pick out pumpkins put them on
my front porch. I've already started to pick out a

(05:19):
few floral arrangements for my friend porch. You know the
ones that kind of have like those fall colors that
you can pick up at the grocery store.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
I picked up three of those last week and they
look so pretty and I just love decorating my front
porch during the fall season.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
So love that and very much looking forward to that,
and yeah, just spooky season in general. There's also stuff
that kind of goes around here in Ottawa for spooky season.
Like we have this place called Saunders Farm where it's
basically like a haunted house and you can walk through that.
There's like a haunted hay ride. There's just kind of
like a lot of fun things to do for spooky season. Oh,

(05:56):
they also have this drive through Haunted House where it's
basically a campground that's haunted and there's like people that
will like come up to your car and do creepy stuff.
And anyways, I think we did in the past, and
honestly it was kind of scary. And I do love
horror movies, but as I've aged, I feel like I'm
more and more terrified of them now, so I don't

(06:17):
watch them as much as I used to do.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
I prefer a creepy movie.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
I don't like the movies that are like overly intense
where it's like really horror and I'm like, this is
too much, like I cannot go to sleep, like that's.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Just not for me.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
But something that's a little bit creepy I actually do enjoy,
or something with a really good storyline.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
So yeah, I'm excited to kind of just yeah, I get.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Into that type of season and enjoy some Halloween movies
just all in all, some Halloween nights. I want to
paint some pumpkins with my friends one night. I think
that'd be really fun. I've seen a lot of people
do like pink pumpkins with cute little bows on it,
or just like decorating it really cute with like black
bats on it.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
So I really hope I can do that as well.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
And then obviously I'm looking forward to recreating a lot
of fall recipes that I feel like I've talked about chili, soups,
crop pot recipes. I recently just made a white chicken
chili which was phenomenal.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
It was so so good.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
And then we're actually making a soup I think on Thursdays,
the merry meat chicken recipe, which some of you may
or may not know that recipe. It's basically spinach, what's
the sundry tomatoes.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
There we go.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
I couldn't think of the name, and chicken with like
a cream sauce, but I saw this soup with nyuki
sounds incredible, so Zach and I are going to try
that this week. But you guys know me, I'm all
about trying newfall recipes, so I've just been on Pinterest
trying to find all these recipes like lasagna soup. I
want to do, butternut squash soup, tomato soup, all that.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
So excited to get into.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Cozy season and hibernation season because it is getting a
little bit cooler here, which is so sad. It just
makes sense obviously because we are at that time of
the year and summer's officially gone, which we're going to
miss so much. But again, I do really love October
and the chilly mornings and chilly nights and the warm days.

(08:12):
And you know, farmers markets are going to be ending
soon too, so I'm trying to take advantage of going
these next few weekends before they shut down for the
beginning of November, just because obviously, since I do live
in a city that gets really cold in November December,
you know, they don't obviously put food out after that
time period, so October is really the last month just

(08:33):
to try and take advantage of the summery and fall
activities that we usually have and definitely going to miss it.
I'm already sad thinking about the winter, but I know
that I just want to really enjoy these next four
weeks of the fall and just enjoy as many fun
activities and family time as I can. Okay, So for

(08:55):
the episode this week, I really wanted to talk about
a health and wellness episode about things that I've tried
personally that I think is either fact or crap. So
things that I've spent honestly a hefty cost for certain
things that honestly may have not been worth it, or
things that I think are one hundred percent worth that
I've seen differences. I've used a lot of products now

(09:17):
for you know, more than six months where I feel
like I can give an actual, you know, good review
on or things that I personally think are worth the
money versus not just because personally, I've had a lot
of messages asking like, O Kailey, like I see you
use this a lot. Do you think it's worth it?

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (09:31):
No, and tell me why you think it's not worth using. Okay,
So let's just dive right in. We're going to get
right into this. The first one is red light therapy,
so this could be a red light therapy mask, it
could be a red light therapy panel. The benefits are
supposed to be anti aging, mood boosting, supposed to help
with your mental health, improve sleep, simulates collagen all that.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
Personally, For me, I think it's fact. I love it.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
I use mine usually two to three times a week.
I like to use it before bed and I'll just
put it on for ten minutes. I feel like it
really helps with my skin. I feel like when my
skin is not doing so great, I feel like whipping
it out and using it. I always notice a really
big difference the following day.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
I do also think it makes an.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Impact in my mood as well, because I do think
just sometimes when you're in a funk, you know what
I mean, like when you're in a rut, and there's
little things you can do obviously to boost your mood,
like you know, cleaning around the house, feeling a little
bit more productive, getting out of the house, doing things,
all that. But I do think being consistent with the
routine of using red light therapy actually does make a difference.

(10:37):
When it comes to that. So in my opinion, I
do think the red light therapy is worth it anti aging.
I don't know if that's actually helping or not right now,
just because obviously I've been using a red light therapy
mass now for probably a year, but I'm still so
young that it's like it's not like I'm fifty year
over that, and you know, I'm noticing signs of aging

(10:58):
and I'm trying to get the red light therapy to
help manage that or whatever. Right, So I can't really
test to that, but for me, I think the mood
as well as just my skin in general, stimulating colligen
all that has been the best results that I've seen
for the red light therapy.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
So yeah, So that's my take.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
On the red light therapy. I personally think it's a fact.
Next one is the hatch alarm clock. Do I think
this is a fact or crap? One hundred percent fact?
This is one of the best purchases I've ever made.
I think I've talked about this a lot throughout like
morning Routine episodes and such, but the hatch alarm clock
is the best thing I've ever purchased. It is a

(11:35):
sun rise alarm clock, and on top of that, it
also has white noise, and it also has just like
better alarm noises. That way, when you wake up in
the morning, it's not that iPhone alarm where it just
sounds really annoying and you just honestly want to stop
the alarm and not even get out of bed just
because it's that unenjoyable. And what I love about the
Hatch is that you can change it to so many
different sounds. So I think right now they have the

(11:58):
Gilmore Girls as an alarm clock option if you want
to wake up to that noise like l l l
l L, which I think is so cool.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
I think you have to pay for it. I didn't
change mind just because I don't pay for the subscription.
I just have the free one. So but I think
if you're willing.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
To pay, I think it's like fifteen bucks a month,
you can get that as part as your alarm clock
in the morning. Another thing is that I've never been
a white noise girl, Like I've never relied on it.
I've always been that kind of person where I needed
like dead silence, like can't have anything happening in the room,
it needs to be quiet. It needs to be dark
or else I won't fall asleep. Now I heavily rely

(12:37):
on white noise. Every single night. I'm putting on either
the sound of waves or the sound of rain or
the sound of crickets, and I put on the Hatch
alarm clock, and I have the sunrise projecting in my face.
I think it's usually twenty minutes before I wake up,
and it just creates such a peaceful wake up, Like,
I don't know how to describe it, but it just

(12:59):
really is the best way to start the morning. And
you can also change the light color, so if you
want to project red, or if you want to project
you know, the color of sunrise so like yellow or orange.
Like you could literally do so many things with the setting.
It is kind of a hefty price point. I think
it's around two hundred and fifty dollars, But I've had
a Hatch alarm clock now for three years and it's

(13:21):
by far one of the best things I own. And
I would recommend it to anyone as a Christmas gift
or a Birthday gift, or I would buy it for
someone just because it's that great of a purchase in
my opinion. So that's one hundred percent fact, and I
think it's worth every single penny. Okay, Next, we're going
to talk about a few kind of like skincare stuff.
So one skincare product that I think a lot of

(13:43):
people talk about is retinal. In my opinion, I say crap,
And I know that might be a shock to a
lot of people, but maybe it's just because I haven't
found a good one that works for me. I personally
find retinal something that's never been a consistent thing of
my routine. Every time I do use it, you know,
I have to gradually try and use it, you know,

(14:04):
once every few days. It's not something you can just
like put on your face every single day. I unfortunately
did do that. I put it on my face like
two to three days in a row, and I got
a full on reaction. My face was extremely dry, you know,
I had irritated skin, red skin all that.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
I was using my red light therapy mask a lot
during that time, which it healed up my skin so much, thankfully,
But I just have almost had the fear of going
back to retnal because of that situation where it literally
created so much irritation.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
To my face and you could see it through makeup.
Even putting on makeup, it was like burning. It was
burning my face so much so it just made my
skin really dry, created a lot of hives on my face.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
All that.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
So, I've never really found a good retinal and I've
tried at least two to three different brands and I've
never had a good experience. It's always been that. So yeah,
I've kind of given up on retinal. So for me,
I I think it's crap and I would rather just
maybe do regular facials, stick to the red light theramy mask, like,
find other ways for anti aging and wrinkles versus a retinol.

(15:10):
So in my opinion, it's crap. It's not something that
I personally love, but I do know some people swear
by it and it works for them. So again, this
is just a personal opinion. All these things are personal
of just things that I've you know, purchased that I
think are either worth it or not. Another thing that
I also think is crap in my opinion is vitamin C.
I don't know, I've never had a good vitamin C

(15:33):
that has created like the brightness of my under eyes
or the brightness of my skin in general, like or
created more evenness, like I've never seen good results with
a vitamin C serum. I'm very much like I have
my you know, five different products that I use every
single morning, which is a hydrofiller, I cream, I use

(15:53):
the Metacube chemical exfoliance. I use a thick moisturizer sunscreen,
and the road Glazing milk, which is kind of just
like a sheer moisturizer in a sense where it just
kind of like hydrates the face. That is all I
use every single morning. Those products are like my holy Grail.

(16:16):
Would recommend it to anybody, and I personally feel like
it just gives me the best results for my skin.
I don't break out. I feel like my skin has
been looking really really good when I'm consistent with using
all those products. So it's just kind of something that
I stick to in my routine. The vitamin seed just
hasn't been my girl. She just hasn't worked for me,
so I have not included that into my routine. I
haven't seen any difference using one. I tried to stick

(16:39):
to the summer Friday's one and I just felt like
it was drying my skin out. Again, just not something
with good moisture or good results, so I just kind
of ditched it. So that's kind of like what I
focus my skin care products on are though, So as
I said, the chemical expolient, which is the metacube pads,
I guess that's another one that I could throw in

(16:59):
here as a fact or crap fact. It is so good, guys,
you need to buy this. I wake up in the
morning and my skin is glowing, like literally glowing. When
people post on TikTok like that glass skin look when
they wake up, I swear they're using this product because
it's that good. It's the brand Medicue, which I'm sure
you've seen on social media. I don't think they're that expensive.

(17:22):
You can get them off Amazon. It's a Korean skincare brand,
which everyone talks about going Korean skincare, like that's just
the way to go in terms of brands that you use.
So I have switched a lot of my skincare products
to Korean. So my face wash is now from a
Korean skincare brand, my chemical exfoliant, and then my moisturizer

(17:43):
is also by a Korean skincare brand. So I've been
trying my best to kind of adapt fully to that.
But I'm kind of just taking it step by step.
The medicue pads are a thousand percent worth it. I
use them every single day. They're gentle to use every
single day, which is great. I actually use them more
at nighttime. During the day.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
I'm sure you could probably use it maybe twice in
a day.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
I could be wrong. I'm not a dermatologist, so don't
hold me to that. Maybe do your research first. But
I use them once today. I use them before I
go to bed, and I wake up and my skin
just is literally glowing, and I feel like it just
really gets into my pores and it really just like
adds that brightening and moisture look. And I just feel
like it's the best thing on the market. So thousand

(18:26):
percent recommend it. As I said, it's on Amazon. Don't
think it's that expensive. And I've had mine for least
I want to say, three months. I think it's three
months worth of pads. I think there's like ninety pads
in one container, So worth it in my opinion if
it's going to last for that long. And yeah, it's
one hundred percent worth it in my opinion. Okay, next

(18:47):
product is a deep bloat Do I think you know,
any drinks or any vitamins that you take or like
supplements that help with deeploating.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
Do I think it works? Do I not?

Speaker 1 (18:58):
I think it's fact. I do think it actually works.
I use the brand Array. This is a supplement company
that's actually based here in Canada.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
You can get it off of Amazon or Revolve.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
I believe, and it literally transforms my body from night
to morning. And I know some people might be like,
of course you're inflamed after eating all day, like you're
gonna look skinnier in the morning, so you haven't eaten anything. Yes,
I can agree to that. But if I compare my
body from you know, Monday, let's say, woke up, I

(19:30):
always feel like a little puffy sometimes right, and I'm
kind of like, whatever, maybe it's just because I didn't
drink enough water that day.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
At night.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
When I'm done on that Monday eating all my food,
you know, finish dinner, I take two Array de blow pills.
I wake up on that Tuesday morning, all the inflammation
is gone. Like inflammation that I had Monday morning that
I kind of just felt a little puffy in gone.
I feel like my abs are looking shreaded I'm feeling confident,
I'm feeling good. Almost just feels a little bit of

(19:58):
a reset. And Yeah, I don't know, I just think
it works so well. Another brand that works really well
that if I don't take the Array pills and I
just want to take something in the morning, I take
a d bloat drink from the brand a Pro Mix,
and it's essentially just kind of like an electro like packet.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
It's just like a.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Flavored water that you add to your morning routine. So
I usually drink that before I have breakfast, and that
just kind of makes me feel less bloated throughout the day.
I wouldn't exactly say that I wake up the next
morning and I'm like, oh my god, instant results, right,
That's just something I feel like that just kind of
like maintains my de blow throughout the day. But I
would say for something that you would want, like really

(20:36):
good results from like night to morning, Array is your girl.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
She is so good. So I think it's a fact.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Some people may think it's a crap, but in my opinion,
I think it works. Another product that I think a
lot of people talk about is ice rolling. I love
ice rolling. I think it's a fact, I use this
almost every single morning, especially when my face is super
super puffy. I have the one by the brand Skinny
Confidential double sided one, so it has one side that
kind of has more of like like an arch to it,

(21:06):
so you can get into your jawline, your cheekbones, kind
of like a Guasha effect.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
That's probably the best way to describe it.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
And if you have a Guasha, I'm sure you could
just put it in your freezer and get it really
cold and then use it in the morning to help
deepuff your face. But sometimes if I've had a cocktail
the night before or a glass of wine, I'll wake
up with a puffy face just from drinking alcohol. So
I will grab my ice roller and I will use
it like deepuff my eyes, deep puff my face, and

(21:34):
within like ten minutes, my face has gone down so much.
So I find ice rolling works really well. I also
know some people rely on ice bucketing, where they fill
up a massive bowl with ice and cold water and
do the ice dunks. I've heard mixed opinions about that,
how it's not really great for your skin. So I
personally have done it in the past, but and you know, honestly,

(21:57):
if I was like really hungover, which I've not been
hung over, and like, I don't even know.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
I want to.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
Say, like probably two years. I haven't gotten black out
drunkn like two years because I rarely drink now, But
I used to do that just to kind of, like,
I don't know, create stimulation, get myself going, because I
hate feeling lazy, right, and when you're hungover, obviously you
feel super unproductive. You're not yourself. You just kind of
like want to be lazy all day. And I feel

(22:23):
like I would do the ice dunks to wake myself
up and like try and be productive.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
All I had to do was just cut out drinking more,
Like who freaking knew? This is what happens when you age.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
You just realize things that fill your cup and things
that don't. So anyways, so I do the ice rolling,
and what I typically do is I don't put it
on my face immediately out of the frazer, just because
it is really really cold and it almost feels like
it's burning your face, which we do not want that.
So I kind of let it on my counter for
like five to ten minutes, let it kind of cool

(22:52):
off a bit.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
And sometimes what I'll do is.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
I'll actually rub it on my hand to make sure
that it's at the perfect temperature before I apply it
to my face. So just a tip for anyone that
wants to get into ice rolling. You can get one
off Amazon for like probably twelve dollars. Like, it's not
that an expensive tool. I just have the skinny Confidential one,
and I love it just because it has that like
Guasha effect where I feel like I can really get

(23:14):
in the areas of like, as I said, my jawline,
my cheekbones, all that. So really love ice rolling and
I think it's a fact. The next one is the
new Face. So I'm sure some of you may or
may not have seen this. During like my bridal era,
I was using it pretty consistently. Then I wouldn't say
I use it as consistently as I would like to.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
I should probably get back into it, but I think
it's a fact. I love it.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
I think again kind of has that similar effect to
the ice rolling, except just a little bit different, where
again you can sculpt your face a bit more, kind
of like deep puff, you know, get the areas on
your cheekbone, your jawline, all that. It just really creates
more structure to the face and really just like makes
my face look really defined, if that makes sense. Like,

(23:58):
I actually have to go get my driver's license photo
taken this week. Anyways, my driver's license expired.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
And I need to get it redund Now I'm like,
oh my god, I have to get my photo taken.
Like the stress right, like getting my make it looking good.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
I'm gonna probably just a slick back ponytail because I
feel like that really like lifts my face. Right, this
is gonna be the photo for the next ten years,
so I want to make sure it looks good. The
photo I have now is not It's like me when
I was I don't even know, seventeen years old.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
It's just awful.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
So I'm like, if I can make this photo look good,
I'm gonna try my best to do that. So I'm
gonna be using my new face. I'm going to make
sure that my face is really defined, really structured, So,
you know, using the new face for you know, some
special event I think is really worth it for that.
And if you're in your bridal era and you really
want your face to just kind of be at its

(24:48):
prime again, might be worth the splurge. If you're in
that phase in your life. But I do think it
works if you're consistent with it and you keep it
into a consistent routine.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
But yeah, I think gets fact.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
And if you want something a little bit better than
a Guasha that gives a bit more power, then the
new Face would be the best product that would recommend
double cleansing. Do I think this is a fact or crap?
I think this is a fact. I double cleanse every
single night with you know, no makeup on or without
makeup on, Like obviously, you guys know, I don't really
wear much makeup throughout the day, so like for my

(25:23):
everyday makeup, I wear like very light makeup. But I
still double cleans just because I want to make sure
I get everything off my face. So I usually use
an oil cleanser and then the other cleanser I use
is more of like a milky cleanser, So I do
that and I feel like it just like gets all
the dirt off my face. And especially like with sunscreen,
I feel like I put sunscreen on my face every
single day obviously, so it requires usually two washes to

(25:46):
get everything off my face. I also find double cleansing
obviously works when you have a full thing a makeup. Sometimes, honestly,
I might have to use three different products to get
all my makeup off my face if I really want
to get everything off it. But usually just two washes
with an oil cleanser and a milk cleanser, and then

(26:09):
I use the Barrier butter by Road, which I've been loving.
I actually just got this recently and it's a thicker moisturizer,
so I love using that at night before bed, usually
a Summer Friday's lip bomb obviously because I'm obsessed with
Summer Friday's lip bombs. And then I also use the
obviously the Meta Cube Exfolia pads. So actually, okay, let
me break this down quickly because I'm kind of going

(26:30):
all over the map here. Usually I do the double
clean so I use the milk cleanser than the oil cleanser.
Then I will use the Medicue pads. Then I would
use my Barrier Butter by Road. Then I would use
my lip bomb by Summer Fridays.

Speaker 2 (26:45):
And sometimes I'll.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
Use a like Overnight I cream by the brand Katalie.
So yeah, I don't use that every night, but I
would say like every second night, I'll use the I
cream just because I have a little bit of dark
circles under my eyes, which I'm sensitive too, so I
like to try and brighten my under eyes by yeah,
using an I cream. So that's like my nighttime skincare routine.

(27:08):
But I do think double cleansing is a fact, and
I do think it does wonders to your skin if
you really want to get everything off of your face.
All right, this next one, this one, you guys are
gonna hold me to this. Okay, Green juices, Okay, I
used to be green juice girl. Okay, I would juice
all the time. I honestly just thought they tasted good,

(27:31):
and I think the benefits of just getting like your
greens in for the day was great. Now people sometimes
do juicing because they think it's gonna do wonders to
their skin, or there's gonna be like other benefits all that.
I honestly, over time of doing green juicing, I do
think it's crap, and that's kind of why I've stopped
doing it. I don't think that the benefits that people

(27:53):
say you get with juicing really goes to show the
benefits that you would get, which is a lot about
your skin in your body and all that. Now, it
is very time consuming, and I think that's another reason
why I wasn't consistent with it anymore, because when you
go through the juicer and you juice the vegetables and

(28:14):
you clean the machine like everything, it is almost a
two hour process. I'm not even over exaggerating, and you're
lucky to get maybe three to four days of the product,
and by like day four or five, it's not good
anymore to drink.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
You have to dump it out.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
So if you try and like prep it throughout the week,
you can really only prep it for like three days ahead.
It's not the most practical thing to do, I feel like,
just because I don't think it's worth the time consuming
and effort that you're going through to do the juicing yourself. Yeah, sure,
I'll buy a green juicey odd time at the grocery store.
But what I say, I'm buying it for the benefits Now,

(28:51):
I'm really just buying it because I feel like it
tastes good and I like to kind of mentally feel like, oh,
I'm getting my greens in this way because I didn't
eat vegetables today. But I don't really know if we're
getting the same benefits or not from it. I'm gonna
be fully transparent. We're just being honest.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
Tier. So I kind of think it's crap. And yeah,
that's kind of my opinion on that. Probiotics and prebiotics.
I think it's a fact.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
I think, honestly, it's something that has helped my gut
transform and something that I think is something that.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
Everyone should include into their daily routine.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
I personally find taking a supplement form of a probiotic
in probiotic, meaning like the brand Seed or Array also
has a prebiotic and probiotic, which is what I've been
using currently, is the brand Array, just because that's been
my favorite brand for supplements lately. I believe Ritual also
has a pre im probiotic. I've never tried theirs, but
I know they have a probiotic for that hold showers

(29:50):
and cold plunging. I think this is honestly crap.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Is that bad to say that? I don't know?

Speaker 1 (29:58):
Like sauna's fact, I think saunas are one hundred percent
worth it. I think the benefits to sweating for fifteen
to twenty minutes I go to a spot and I
will go on a sauna, you know, throughout every hour
for fifteen minutes, and I will come home and I
will just feel like I've like regained energy, Like I

(30:18):
feel like I'm a new human being when I actually
be consistent with using saunas.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
Whereas the cold plunge, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
I don't know if I love it or like the
cold shower thing or anything like that. Like obviously people
say that it boos circulation, helps reduce inflammation, increases alertness, energy,
boost mood.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
All that.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
Again, maybe it's just because it's not something that I
do consistently where I can be like, yeah, see the
benefits all that again. Some people think it is the
best thing ever, But personally for me, it's a crap
and I don't like doing it. And I'm a sauna
girl through and through and don't really love the whole
cold plunging thing. Silk pillowcases. I currently have a silk pillowcase.

(31:02):
Do I think it actually works?

Speaker 2 (31:03):
No, I don't. I think it's crap.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
I don't know if it actually reduces you know, like
skin wrinkles or creates less hair damage and frizz and
all that.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
I wouldn't say.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
I'm really noticing a difference with my skin from my
pillowcase or my hair, to be honest, like I wouldn't
say my hair feels silkier or anything like that.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
I still use it just because that's my pillowcase and
I purchased it, you know, last year. But yeah, no,
I just honestly think it's kind of crap. Next is electrolytes.
I do think this is a fact. I think it
maintains hydration throughout the day.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
I love electrolytes as well because I feel like it's
something that I crave in the sense where I like,
I'm kind of getting sick and tired of the taste
of water, and knowing that electrolytes provides the same benefits
but actually tastes a bit better is incredible. And I
do also feel like it gives me a second win
in the afternoon, especially when you know I've kind of

(32:00):
like the bottom of that like three pm lazy girl
like wants to sit on the couch, doesn't want to
get work done. I'll have my electrolyte and then I'm like,
all right, let's clean up this entire kitchen, let's actually
get shit going, let's start dinner. Like feel like just
a new wind comes out of me and I don't
ever drink energy drinks. Not a big energy drink girl.

(32:21):
So for me, I feel like my electrolytes is my
source of energy when I'm wanting it. So yeah, I
think electrolytes are fact and I love it and I
think it actually works really well. Okay, the last two
that I'm going to talk about are hair products, So
hair vitamins kind of like the growth ones when it
comes to like nutrifhil, I think haram vitamins are a fact.

(32:44):
I think neutrafoil has been a game changer for me personally.
I do think it's helped maintain my hair health. It's
definitely created more growth. There's obviously a lot of damage
that I have, like kind of like underneath my hair
from years ago or just like my roots in general
from doing slick back looks, and I feel like there's
been a lot of growth coming in just because of
doing the nutrifolds so consistently and taking the hair vitamins. Now,

(33:08):
hair oiling. People talk about hair oiling all the time.
This is the next one. Do I think this is
factor crap? I think this is crap, but it could
be crap to me. Because I could be doing it
the wrong way. Maybe I'm not doing it the right way,
but I don't know. Some people swear by it.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
I don't think the whole like massaging oiled into your scalp,
leave it in your hair for an hour, wash it
out in the shower, all that.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
Like, I actually.

Speaker 1 (33:30):
Find my hair feels thinner, Like I feel like it's
actually like not doing what I want it to do.
Like I feel like it's doing the opposite. I feel
like it's thinning out my hair. It's not creating the
growth that I wanted to create. So I think it
really just depends on Yeah, maybe the brand that you
use or the process that you do. Yeah, I feel
like maybe I need to watch more videos on it.

(33:51):
But I've watched a few tutorials, I've tried it out.
It just hasn't worked for me. So I'm like, if
I'm gonna do anything when it comes to like rebuilding
my hair strength or growth in general, I'm going to
be sticking to the hair vitamins or the brand's Mary
Ruth Roth, I think it might be it it's like
a liquid form where you kind of like take a
shot in the morning it's supposed to help with like skin, hair,

(34:12):
and nails and is really recommended. So anyways, but that's
kind of everything that I could personally think of. I'm
sure there's obviously a lot more that I could chat
about when it comes to things that I've personally tried
and like the health and wellness world and what I
think is fact or grap But I just thought this
would be a really interesting episode because I love to
hear what other people's opinions are about this stuff, because obviously,

(34:35):
like if people are spending a lot of money on
certain things, I want to know if it's worth the
hype or not. So I just wanted to share my
thoughts and opinions on things that I've splurged my money
on what I think is worth it versus what I don't. Also,
I know we're ending this episode off, but I forgot
to mention the beginning of the episode that I lied
to you guys last week saying that there wasn't gonna
be an episode this week because I was going to Dallas.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
But I'm actually going to Dallas next week. I messed up.

Speaker 1 (34:59):
I thought we we were going this week, and Zach
was like, no, babe, it's not.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
This week, it's the following week. I'm like, oh my goodness.
I told all my girlies that I was going to
Dallas this week.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
And here we are still home, which I'm not complaining
about because you guys know, I've been in my era
of wanting to stay home anyways, but we are heading
for his.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
Work trip next week.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
So if there's no episode next week, you now know
why because I will be in Dallas next week, not
this week. But anyways, thank you guys for listening to
another episode. If you guys are new, definitely make sure
to follow at the Hawkgirl Energy Instagram page. You can
also follow me the host, Kaylee. I'm on Instagram, TikTok,

Speaker 2 (35:36):
