Speaker 1 (00:13):
Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
Hawkerel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is
your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
a new mindset, and another day for you to become
the Hawkerel Energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
Happy Wednesday, Welcome back to another episode. We are focusing
on the holiday season this episode because we are just
(00:36):
a week away from December, which is so crazy that
we're at the end of twenty twenty five. And you
guys know that I always try and make at least
one episode dedicated to the holiday season. Typically I do
a episode about like getting into like the holiday spirit,
how can we prep for it. I also love to
talk about like holiday gift guides and all that. So
(00:56):
I thought I would just make this episode all in
one because I feel like I could definitely just kind
of chat my ear off when it comes to things
to do for December, kind of like a mini bucket
list of things that I personally want to do just
to really get myself in the festive season and truly
just enjoy December to the max, along with sharing some
gift ideas because I love just to share some feedback
(01:19):
and some ideas that I have that I'm going to
be either gifting my loved ones or just ideas if
you guys are kind of like in a rut and
don't really know what to get your significant other or
your family members, whatever the case may be. So I
have created gift guides and I'm actually posting them today.
So I will make sure to put the link in
this description for anyone that's interested in some of the
(01:40):
things that I'm talking about in today's episode. But let's
get into today's holiday mood board, the bucket list, gift
guides and more. Okay, so for starters, you guys know
that I love to romanticize anything when it comes to
a new season. When it comes to my life in general,
I truly find it's the definition for being in the
best mood. Like you truly allow yourself to be your
(02:04):
happiest self when you romanticize the little things. Picture your
life as a movie. When it comes to the holidays.
I feel like there's so much stuff that you see
going on and like the holiday movies that you're like, Oh,
I wish I could do things like that in my
town during the holiday season. Well, you absolutely can. There's
ways to make yourself feel like you're living in a
movie by actually romanticizing them. So I'm going to share
(02:27):
twelve different things that I plan on doing this December
to really feel like I'm getting into the holiday season,
really having a good December, and just feeling like my
life is a Pinterest board. So the first one being,
and this is an obvious if you haven't decorated your
house yet, this is your sign to do so. Find
a mini Christmas tree, decorate your bedroom. If you don't
(02:48):
have a house, just put little decorations in your room.
If you have a home, make sure to get a
Christmas tree and decorate it, because it truly does feel
like Christmas in the holiday season when you actually decorate
your home and just add a little festive touch to it,
maybe it's adding some lights all that. It truly feels
so cozy having those little things set up in your home,
(03:10):
and it just brings so much joy and happiness. I
truly love having my Christmas tree up. I could have
it up all year round. I'm not even over exaggerating.
I find turning it on in the morning and just
seeing the house allt up. Having my fireplace on having
the stockings up like it's a feeling that cannot be described,
and I feel like it just makes the home feel
(03:30):
so much more cozy. I feel so happy with it
all on. So it's a small little detail, but it
does make a huge impact on how you feel going
into the holiday season. Another thing that I'm making a
non negotiable as part of my holiday December bucket list
is going to visit a holiday market. Wherever you live,
figure out where there's a holiday market going on. I'm
sure there's something going on that you can go attend
(03:53):
that has some cute, little, you know, Christmas shops that
you can go shop at. Maybe find some cute little
Christmas decorations Orristmas ornaments. Maybe you'll be able to find
some Christmas gifts that will inspire you to gift to
someone else. Get a cup of coffee while you're at it,
make it a whole experience. I'm actually doing this on
Sunday with my sister and Zach, which I'm very excited
about because it is the first day of vlog miss.
(04:16):
If you guys want to follow along, I am doing
it again like what I did last year, twelve days
of v log Miss where I'll also be doing twelve
days of giveaways.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
So if you want to win a giveaway.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Please please please follow me on TikTok and Instagram because
I want to give back to you guys as well,
and we're going to be doing that on TikTok and Instagram,
so make sure you're following me there. But the start
to the vlog miss will be a very festive touch
by us going to a Christmas market, doing a little
bit of Christmas shopping all that, getting ourselves in that mood,
maybe getting some hot cocoa, all that, just doing all
(04:47):
the festive things. It's also fun to do this at
night when there is like a Christmas tree up and
there might be some like Christmas vibes going on when
it comes to like maybe a band's there to play,
or they have just like Christmas themed events going on,
anything like that. It's just so important to see what's
happening in your city and go attend it because it
really does get you in the holiday mood. So that
(05:10):
is an absolute non negotiable for me to go do
this holiday season. Another thing I love to do and
I did this last year as well, is make a
list in my phone of all the holiday movies that
I want to watch throughout December, because there is so
many good Christmas movies. I literally can't even watch all
of them. I know last year I didn't get to
finish my list. I think I had like three or
(05:30):
four movies that I still wanted to watch soon as
January hits. I'm just like not thinking about Christmas obviously,
I'm thinking about the new year. I'm thinking about my goals.
So I definitely want to try and get all the
movies out throughout December, whether it's watching too every weekend,
finding time to watch movies while I'm wrapping gifts, whatever
the case may be. But make a list of all
the Christmas movies that you want to watch this month. Again,
(05:52):
there's so many good ones that it's going to be
really hard to watch all of them. But some of
my non negotiables that I love to watch that I
have in my phone currently is I love The Grinch,
I love Santa Claus and watching like all the Santa
Claus movies. I think there's like three, and then Christmas
Vacation Home Alone ELF is a non negotible for me.
(06:12):
I still don't know how we don't have a second movie.
I wish Will Ferrell would do another one because it's
truly my favorite Christmas movie of all time. I watch
that every single year. I also love Christmas with the Cranks.
I also love the holiday movies. So those are just
a few that I can name right now that I'm
making a non negotiable to watch throughout December. But this
(06:33):
is your sign to go through all the movies that
you want to watch this December, because it is the
most important time to write a list and just make
sure you want to see every movie that you want
to watch. You would hate to get to January and
be like, oh my god, I forgot to watch this movie.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Like I love this movie. How did I forget it?
Blah blah blah.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Like just write in your phone, write the ones that
you love, and I promise you you'll probably be able
to watch all of them as long as you find
time throughout your weekend to turn.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
It on again.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
It's like an hour and a half or two hours
of your time, just like cozy up on the couch
watch your favorite movie, or if you're folding laundry or
trying to do something productive at the same time, whether
it's cleaning the house or whatever, cooking dinner together, turn
on a Christmas movie. It will get you in the
holiday spirit and again you'll be able to watch all
the movies that you want to watch before the end
of the year. I also want to be making a
(07:18):
lot of baking a priority this holiday season, because I
love so many holiday treats, especially during this time of
the year, Like I love cinnamon buns, I love sugar cookies.
One thing that I actually tried for the first time
last year that I'd never made, but I tried it
at a holiday party, which is that nutella Christmas tree.
It's almost like a croissant dough and then you put
(07:41):
nutella all over it and you wrap it like in
a Christmas tree, and then you put it in the
oven and it grows and you have like this stuffed
nutella croissant essentially, and it was so so good. So
I really want to attempt to make that myself. I've
seen a lot of people post like tutorials on TikTok
on how to make this, and I think it would
just be such a fun thing to do.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Again.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
You could bake, you could watch a movie at the
same time. You can do this with your husband or boyfriend,
or you can do it with friends. Like such a
fun little thing to do at night. This is actually
the best time of the year to make the effort
of seeing your friends or spending time with your boyfriend
more of like doing cozy nights in just as simple
as baking together, watching a Christmas movie. Or Another idea
that I had on here is having a gingerbread house competition.
(08:22):
So you guys both order gingerbread houses, and you know
you have one and he has one, and then you
spend the night like decorating your own, he decorates his,
and then you can see who's did.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
A better job.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
And anyways, just kind of like fun ideas like that
you can make more enjoyable. And it's also just like
fun date nights you can do at home. So that's
another one. My sister and I actually did this with
Zach last year, and Zach was on his own. Me
and my sister were on our own, and we decorated
our gingerbread house, and obviously ours looked better than Zach,
because Zach is not very good actually know what Zach
(08:54):
is good at the structure aspect of keeping the gingerbread
in like good found, whereas me and my sister we
did a really good job decorating it, but the house
was like falling apart.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
So I will give Zach.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Credit to being good at like the construction side obviously
to the gingerbread house, but me and my sister were
better for decorating, so I'll give him a bonus point
for that.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Another thing I.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Love to do during the holiday season is go see
the Christmas lights. I don't know if anyone else has
this in their city, but we have like a drive
through that you could pay to go see a bunch
of different Christmas lights and like this forest. I think
it's like ten dollars. It's not that much, and all
the donations actually go towards a charity, and it's like
a fifteen minute drive through. Actually, you know what, that
(09:38):
might be a fun thing to do with my niece
because she's finally at the age where she kind of
understands Christmas. She's turning three in a few months, and
she's just at like the best age. But I think
that'd be such a fun thing to do with her.
But honestly, just going with friends again, going with your partner,
just like something really small but kind of fun to
do on like a Thursday night or something like that.
(10:00):
There's also areas that you could go to that are
like walkable where they have a bunch of houses that
go full out for the Christmas lights and decor and
all that for the X year of their house, and
that's totally free that.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
You could just go walk around and go see that.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
So really look around your city and see what's going on.
I'm sure there's some stuff going on when it comes
to Christmas lights. I feel like that's a pretty typical
thing that people do, but it's a fun little thing
to do during the holiday season. Another fun idea is
going holiday shopping in person, going to buy some Christmas
gifts for people, spending the day wrapping the gifts, maybe
(10:35):
watching a movie at the same time wile doing it.
I think obviously a lot of people order their gifts
online now, which I'm a victim to that. I love
just an online shop and get a few gifts there,
and I probably will do the same this year. But
I do also love going to the mall, seeing the
Christmas decorations up, seeing the tree, seeing the Santa like.
There is a bit of joy and excitement when you
(10:58):
go to a mall to get a bit of Christmas
shopping done.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
So I do want to make the.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
Effort to go to the mall and definitely get a
few small gifts that I could pick up for some
people and then you know, gift wrap them again make
a whole day out of it. So yeah, make sure
to go do some holiday shopping because there is some
cute fines in person versus just finding things online. I
feel like there are certain gifts that you like should
be buying in person verse certain gifts that you could
(11:23):
just order online. As I said, so definitely find the
time throughout the December season. I know malls are kind
of crazy around this time of the year, but it
is really enjoyable to get some holiday shopping done in person.
Another idea is having a little weekend trip, whether it's
going to a cabin, renting a cottage for a weekend,
or going to visit a snowy destination. It has always
(11:45):
been my dream to go to London to see the
Christmas lights. I went to London, I want to say,
last spring for my wedding walk through. I went to
London first with my mom, just because we wanted to.
I don't know, just like visit London for the first
time and I absolutely loved it, and then from there
(12:06):
we went to Italy to go do some like food tastings,
my makeup trial all that. But I've always said that
London is like one of the go to spots that
I want to go see during the Christmas time because
the decorations on the streets are just so beautiful.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
There's so much fun things going on.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
I actually went to New York City last December to
do my wedding dress try on or not last December, sorry,
The following December, I went to New York to do
a final dress fitting and I was able to see
all the Christmas decorations up all that, and New York
is definitely another spot to visit during the holiday season.
(12:43):
Maybe it might not be this year, but I definitely
recommend planning a trip in the future to go see
all the Christmas decor That.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
Is something that I really want to do with zach. I.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
Honestly, yesterday was like looking at like last minute flights
to see if we can make it work to go.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
For the weekend. But I'm like, you know, there's so
much going on.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
With work and with our house that I'm like, it's
not a good time to go to New York.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
But that is just like the best idea ever.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
I think it's such a fun little weekend trip to
go to New York and see all the Christmas decorations
and it's such a fun little spot.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
But again, this is not like a mandatory thing.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
I think this is just a nice little addition to
your December is booking a little weekend getaway. I'm actually
going to a cottage the first weekend of December. It's
my girlfriend's cottage. And every single year we always do
like a gals miss is what we call it, and
we all get together, we do a gift exchange, we
all bring some like festive treats, we knit blankets, we
(13:35):
go shopping in this small little town that's close by
to her cottage that has like a lot of cute
Christmas shops all that. So we're making a whole weekend
out of it and just having a fun little girl's
weekend and really getting in the Christmas spirit. So I
highly recommend doing that. It's been a tradition for my
girl group now for I want to say five years now,
and it's just something we look forward to every single year,
(13:58):
and we make a non negotiable because I think spending
time with friends is so so important and doing things
that are fun during the holiday season is very enjoyable.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
So that's what we're doing, and yeah, it's going to
be a fun little weekend.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
So as I said, doing a gift exchange with friends
or even hosting some tip of holiday dinner I think
is a really fun idea to do during December. I
think hosting around this time of the year is so
so fun and just kind of like planning of girls night,
maybe doing a secret Sanna like finding ways to make
the night more enjoyable. You could do gingerbread houses as
(14:33):
I said, you could nip blankets like, you can totally
find a little craft to do while watching a holiday movie,
and maybe making some festive cocktails. Like you could have
a whole fun night planned all around the holidays with
your friends. Another idea is visiting holiday themed bars. We
have a few themed bars here in Ottawa that literally
(14:54):
go full out, like they deck out the entire restaurant
with Christmas decor. Usually the servers are dressed up and
like elve outfits. There's some Santa clauses, there's the Grinch, Like,
there's so much going on, and it's kind of a
fun way to get out of the house and do
something with your friends again or with your boyfriend or husband.
We always try and do this every single year, and
(15:16):
we can never get in, Like these restaurants are always
fully booked, and usually you can't make a reservation for
obviously a Friday or Saturday night. So maybe we should
try and make it an effort to go on like
a Thursday night or something like that, maybe when it's
not as busy. But it's definitely a fun little date
night idea if you want to get out of the
house and again still have like a holiday night, it'd
(15:37):
be a really fun idea to go visit a holiday
themed bar. And then the last one is just figuring
out what's happening in your city. Is there a holiday
farmers' markets happening? Is their parades? Like I feel like
there's always things going on. Is there, like you know
concerts going on that are holiday themed. I know last
year we had the Nutcracker, and this is that's something
(15:58):
that I actually really want to do this year. I
need to see if there's tickets available because it might
actually be sold out, but going to see the Nutcracker
would be a really cute date night idea again with
girlfriends or with your husband.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
I also just like love.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
Doing anything that allows me to get out of the
house during the holidays. I think it's just the best
time of year to just like really take advantage of
things going on in the city. So yeah, just kind
of see what's happening, is their farmers' markets, is their parades,
Like usually there's a lot of stuff happening on the
weekend or like Friday nights, So you can definitely take
advantage of doing those things because it definitely makes the
(16:33):
holidays more enjoyable when you make the effort of making plans,
getting out of the house and just doing those things
to get yourself into the holiday season. So that's kind
of like my mini bucket list of how I'm getting
into like the holiday spirit and how I really want
to maximize my December of just really enjoying the holiday
season by making the effort of doing these little things.
(16:54):
And I truly find it makes a huge difference when
I romanticize and do these things during the holidays season.
So I hope this gave you some inspiration for creating
your holiday bucket list and give you some ideas of
how to spend your December. Okay, so now let's get
into holiday gift ideas because obviously holiday shopping can get
(17:14):
a little overwhelming. There's so many good gift ideas, but
I thought I would share some things that I truly
feel like are worth the investment. These are some things
that I either own or some things that I've heard
people talk about that are like ten out of ten
recommend like best gift idea all that. So I have
gifts for her, gifts for him, gifts for the bestie
(17:35):
slash under one hundred dollars, gifts for the parents or
in laws, along with my wish list of little things
that I want for Christmas from Santa of course, so
we're going to start off with gifts for her. So
one gift that I actually love the idea of gifting
to someone this could also be for a friend or
(17:56):
something that you can just ask from Santa is a
Monaga toiletry bag.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
The thought of.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Having my name on something or my initials on something
I love, like, I really do love personalized gifts, or
even if it's like a monogram laptop case or a
monogram like jewelry travel pouch. I mean those like jewelry
travel cases that you could put your earrings in your rings,
all that with your name on it. It just looks
so high end in my opinion. There's this one brand
(18:23):
that I linked on my shop my which again all
this will be linked in my description for anyone that
wants to see what I'm talking about here. But I
think it's called Adbe and they do monogram everything. And
there's one specific item that I love, which is like
a leather crock material and it's got the initials of
your first and last name or could be your first
(18:43):
middle name and last name, and I just think it's
so so chic. I'm obsessed with it. And that's something
that I'm asking for from my mom, to be honest,
because I love it and I do travel a lot
with work sometimes, so I thought it would be a
cute little gift to give to someone else. Another thing
I love is jewelry.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
I love a good.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
Ear ring, especially when I'm going out.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
I feel like I have like.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
Good staple earrings that I'm wearing right now, which is
also a good gift idea to get, just like a
mini pair of hoops, a mini pair of studs, like
something that you're gonna wear all the time. You want
something that's good quality that obviously will last in the
shower all that. Some brands that I love when it
comes to good quality jewelry is Masuri. Honestly, Amazon sometimes
has some good fines too, And I also love just
(19:28):
like small local boutique jewelry companies here that I'll shop
at just to grab some jewelry pieces. But I also
love a good statement earring when I'm going out for dinner.
You know, I want my earrings to look a little
bit more, you.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
Know, dressed up.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
I don't want just like my basic studs and many hoops.
So I love the ear rings from Heaven Mayhem. Truly
such a beautiful earring. They have so many different styles
and it's honestly in a pretty good price point as well.
So that brand I adore, and I think they have
so many great staple pieces that are great for like
date nights or fancy occasions. They just have like such
(20:06):
a good assortment of different kinds of earrings. Now, this
next one is a little bit costly, but you guys
know me, I love my red Light Therapy mask, and
everyone has been talking about the Shark red Light Therapy mask.
I almost want to get it myself, even though I
don't need it, like I have my own, but everyone
has been saying amazing things about the Shark red Light
(20:26):
Therapy mass It's got like an eye massager, it's got
an area to cool your eyes apparently.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
I love that it's.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
A remote control so you can kind of control what
the face mask is doing for your skin. So it
has like different settings that you can do for like
the benefits of what you want the red light therapy
to do for your skin.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
So if you have the.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
Budget, I highly recommend getting this. I'm trying to convince
my sister to get it because she has been wanting
a red light therapy mask for so long, and I'm like,
if you're going to get one, I think you should
get this brand because I hear so many good things
about So if you're looking to splurge or get a
good gift for yourself, I highly recommend the Shark Red
(21:09):
Light Therapy Mask.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Again, I've never tried it.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
I don't own it, but I'm just speaking on behalf
of reviews that I've seen people talk about on YouTube
and TikTok and everyone's just saying the Shark red light
therapy mask is so so good. Another thing is Road
Road Skincare Miss Haley Bieber. I will say I truly
love all over products. I use the blush, I use
the lipliners, I use a lot of the skincare products,
(21:32):
like the barrier cream and the glazing milk.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
I love it. I always go back to it.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
I'm a very sensitive skin girl, so for me, I'm
very picky about the skincare products that I use on
my face, and this is the one brand that I
would say is very consistent without me breaking out or
having any issues with my skin. So if you're someone
like me that has really sensitive skin, I'm telling you
right now, Road is so good. They have a lot
of good holiday discounts right now too. For like their
(22:00):
skincare package. It comes with a cute little toiletry bag,
it's got you know, the Road barrier cream, it's got
the glazing milk all that.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
So definitely do your own research.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Obviously, every skin type is different, but this is by
far one of my favorite brands. And again her makeup
products are really good too. She's got the blush, she's
got lipliners. She just came out with a new black
It's a toiletry bag, but it's literally the size of
a laptop. They were so kind enough to gift it
to me, and I use it as my laptop case,
(22:31):
and I love it so much. They are selling it individually,
I believe, so I think I added that to one
of my gift guides just because I've been using it
a lot as a laptop case and I adore it.
And they also have really cute phone cases, So if
you're looking to get a new phone case, I.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
Just got the Road.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
It's like a little sticky part to put your lip
gloss on. But I like how it's not the full case.
It basically looks like the Octobuddy, which if you guys
know the Octabuddy, it's like that sticky part that you
guys might see on my phone and my Instagram stories.
It's essentially a tripod for me to just like stick
against a mirror or you know, a window whenever I
need to film stuff. It's very very practical for me personally,
(23:09):
But I do love the Road addition that you can
just stick on like a nice phone case, and like
having the option of like putting on your lipstick.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
I think it's also magnetic.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
As well, which is so great because you could take
it off and not have to like ruin your phone case,
because the optobuddies like a sticker, so once it's on,
it's not coming off, whereas like the magnetic one, you
can obviously take it off and not have to worry
about it ruining the phone case, and you don't have
to have it on all the time, which I love,
so really really love that brand, and I feel like
it's a great gift to give, you know, for someone
(23:40):
else or for yourself. To ask for the last thing
I'm going to put here for a gift for her,
especially if you want to like send this to your
boyfriend or your husband is a walking pad. I'm gonna
tell you guys right now, you guys know how much
I love my walking pad. It is truly the best investment.
I think Zach actually got it for me. I keep
thinking that I bought it for myself, but I think
Zach got it for me for my birthday, and I
(24:01):
adore it. I use it every single day, especially in
the winter. It's been such a great way to get
some movement in I've been reading my book a lot
on there, just spending like thirty to forty minutes in
the morning, just getting my movement in, getting some walks in.
I love that I can just fold it up, put
it in the corner, not have to stress about it.
Like it is again a little bit of an investment piece.
But if you're looking to, you know, be able to
(24:23):
get your steps in but not have to like go
freeze in the freezing rain or snow, you know, having
the walking pad is a great, great alternative if you
live in the colder climates like myself.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
All right, let's get into gifts for him.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
I love the idea of investing in a really good
quality black sweater, whether it's from Aloe or Lululemon. I
don't know about your man, but Zach really loves to
wear just like really basic things. Like he loves a
good basic shirt, he loves a good basic pant, like
he always wears like the three same colors either gray,
black or white or sometimes like a green. But he's
(24:57):
pretty neutral when it comes to his outfits. So I
really love shopping on like Lulemon or Alo Yoga for
a good quality sweater because it's going to last him.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
For such a long time, and the.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
Quality is just really good, so you don't have to
worry about like it getting ruined or anything. So really
really recommend that. If you're looking to like elevate your
man's fashion and you want him to have like a
good staple sweater, I definitely recommend checking out those brands.
Another idea is just gifting him tickets to some type
of sports related game, whether it's a hockey game or
a football game, or you know, obviously baseball is not
(25:32):
happening right now, but maybe buying tickets to a game
for next season. Like I know, Zach loves experienced gifts,
like when we do stuff together, and he loves when
it's obviously sports related. So if you know your husband
or boyfriend's favorite sports team, maybe you look at getting
some tickets to a game. I think that's a really
fun gift idea. Another idea is investing in new luggage
(25:54):
or even like a backpack for your husband. I feel
like this is something that men never put the effort
in buying them themselves, like Zach never, I don't think
he's ever bought in himself a nice suitcase or toiletry
bags like I've always gifted it to him as a
Christmas gift or a Birthday gift, and now he has
a full travel set that he's been using for years
that he loves. And I don't know, I just think
(26:15):
it's something that makes your man look more put together.
When he has a good travel set, a good you know,
a good suitcase, a good toiletry bag, Like, he just
looks very put together, if that makes sense. Or even
just having a good backpack if your husband works in
the business field or if he's a construction worker, like
obviously men need something to carry their stuff in, so
having a good backpack is a really good idea. So
(26:37):
I've linked a few options from a bunch of different brands,
but just like a simple black luggage or a black
backpack would go a really long way and something that
you'll have for a really long time. So I feel
like it's a really good gift if you're looking to, yeah,
upgrade his luggage or backpack. Something small that I always
love to get Zach usually every single year, maybe not
(26:58):
every single year, but every two years is either a
new water bottle or a travel mug. I love the
brand Yetti when it comes to a coffee mug because
Zach is always waking up early, he makes his coffees
out the door, and just having a good travel mug
I think is essential. And then obviously a good water
bottle as well, But these are things that you could
find on Amazon. Again, it's just kind of like a
little gift idea to add on to maybe another gift
(27:20):
that you want to get him. So maybe it's the
sweater and a water bottle, or the sweater and the
travel mug. I love that type of gift to receive,
so I feel like it's a good gift to give.
And the last one, again, if you want to splurge,
is maybe getting your man a new coffee machine. I
know Zach adors coffee, and I think you know, investing
in an espresso machine or a good coffee machine is
(27:41):
another great gift idea. Okay, Next is gifts for the
bestie or gifts under one hundred dollars. When I'm gifting
to someone else, whether it's a gift exchange or something
that I'm getting for a friend, I always look at
the Sephora holiday gift sets. I will say Sephora has
the best discounts when it comes to the holiday gift sets.
(28:01):
There are so many good brands that are doing such
cute gift sets like Rare Beauty, you know, Summer Fridays
Again Road, There's a bunch of cute holiday gift sets
that you could find at such a good price point
you get so much. Sephora also does like Sephor themed
gift baskets where they basically include a bunch of different
brands and it's like under you know, eighty dollars and
(28:23):
you get like two hundred dollars worth of product or
something like that. So I always resort to that whenever
I'm gifting for like a secret Sanna or for someone
that loves makeup or skincare. I just feel like it's
such a good place to find really affordable gift sets.
I also love the Anthropology mugs. I'm sure you guys
(28:43):
know the ones I'm talking about, but Anthropology has such
cute iconic like clear glasses with cute little emojis on it,
so you can get one with hearts on it, you
can get one with bows on it. Some of them
also have like Christmas theme, Valentine's Day theme, all that
you can also find really cute like straight mugs.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
Just having a cute espresso cup or a very cute
coffee mug just makes me feel good when I'm drinking.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
It at home.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
And one thing that no one has mastered yet maybe
I need to start this, but a good iced coffee glass.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
Like I feel like I'm always.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
Using some type of like Mason jar or tall clear glass,
but I like a decent sized iced coffee and I
feel like those like many ones from Anthropology never satisfy
me because it's too small. So anyways, maybe Anthropology needs
to get on that. But I need at least like
a sixteen ounce glass for my iced coffee, unless if
I'm having a warm coffee, obviously I'm going to be
(29:38):
putting it in that cute little straight mug. But yeah,
just finding Anthropology mugs or cups are really cute. But yeah,
I have not been able to find a cute ice
coffee cup. Unless you have a good one, send it
to me. I'm just using literally Mason jars over here,
but it does the job and that's all I care about.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
But I could have a better coffee cup.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
Another idea is going to a ritzia and up like
mits and a hat or maybe a scarf. Again, we're
in that cold time, so investing in a good quality
scarf or hat or mits. I think it's such a
nice little gift. And I love a good par emits
or just like anything in a neutral color, whether it's
black or brown. I feel like it's just something that
(30:18):
I don't really want to buy myself, so I feel
like when someone else gives it for me, it's just
like a nice gesture and it will definitely be used,
especially when I'm going on my longer walks with Freddy.
But yeah, I thought that was a really good gift idea.
I also love this idea for someone that wants to
just add to a gift, Maybe that's an affordable option.
If you know a girl that's into pilates, I love
the idea of getting pilate grip socks. There's so many
(30:41):
cute grip socks that you can get at so many
different websites. But I think it's such a cute little
gift idea. The last one that I love is getting
a candle and a candle warmer. You can find so
many cute candle warmers on Amazon. Maybe get a cute
little designer candle or something from Sephora and then pair
it with a candle warm. I think that's such a
cute gift idea, And let's be honest, who doesn't love
(31:03):
a candle. I love candles so much. I think I
have like twenty five.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
Around my house. I'm not even over exaggerating.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
I love candles, and I think it's just a really
nice gift to give. Okay, the next one is for
the parents or the in laws. I feel like this
is always very difficult because I feel like you want
it to be like very gender neutral. Like I typically
give things to my in laws like as a set.
Like sometimes I'll do, like, you know, a gift card
to a restaurant for them to go on a date
(31:29):
and night. Everything I typically give them is for them together,
not separately. I don't get my mother in law something
and then my father in law usually just get them
a gift that they can use together. So I was
trying to think of ideas that we're kind of like
gender neutral that could be good to give or again
to your parents. Usually I do buy things separate from
my mom and my dad. But again, if you want
(31:50):
to keep it easy, you could do some more gender
neutral gifts that could be for.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
Both of them.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
But again going back to like the monogram thing, I
still love that aspect of having something customize and personalize,
but I've seen a few brands do like monogram cutting boards,
which I would love to receive that if my initials
or even if it was like KZ so like me
and Zach on a cutting board. I think that's such
a nice gift to give. Another gift that I would
(32:16):
love to receive but also give to my parents or
in laws is a throw blanket or weighted blanket.
Speaker 2 (32:22):
I love weighted blankets so much.
Speaker 1 (32:24):
It's so underrated. I feel like it's the coziest thing ever.
Especially when it's heated. Oh, it's the best. I also
love the throw blankets from the brand I think it's
called Lola. I could be pronouncing that wrong, but it's
an American based company. You cannot get them in Canada unfortunately,
but I did find a dupe on Amazon that I
did link for anyone that wants them. But they're so cozy.
(32:47):
I have them on my couch twenty four to seven,
and I feel like it's just like a really good
gift to give to a parent or an in law.
Another idea is getting an Amazon Alexa, so they have
like those new smart Alexas that are almost like an
iPad that you can use, you know, for the weather,
you can ask Alexi certain things. Like it's a really
really good smart device to have or to give to
(33:08):
a parent, especially for parents who are into like that
tech side of things. I feel like it's a pretty
affordable gift to give and I find it very useful,
especially if you want to place Amazon orders all that.
So I really love that gift idea. This one's a
bit pricey, but I feel like if I gifted this
to my mother in law, she would love it. The
hatch alarm clock. As you guys know, I love my
(33:29):
hatch alarm clock. I think it's the best thing ever.
And I feel like it's just a really good gift
to give to a parent, especially like for people who
wake up early for a job that you know, just
obviously want a better alarm clock versus an iPhone alarm clock.
So I definitely recommend that. And then the last one
is pretty small and simple, but again a little recipe
(33:49):
book for them to write recipes in when they're cooking dinners.
I want to actually get this myself because I am
so known to finding recipes online, making it, loving it,
and then two weeks go by and I'm like, oh,
what recipe was that?
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Who is that? By? Like I always forget.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
So if I have a recipe book and I actually
write down the recipe out entirely in a recipe book,
I can just like go back on my recipe book. Okay,
this is the dinner that we made two weeks ago.
We can remake it. Everything's there. I don't have to
stress about finding it on Pinterest again or whatever. I
feel like it's just hard to like keep track of
recipes that you find, whether it's through TikTok, you know, Pinterest, whatever.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
I feel like I'm always losing it.
Speaker 1 (34:28):
So having a recipe book and being able to write
everything out, I think is a good gift idea to
give to a parent or for someone who loves to cook.
So those are my ideas for gifts for the parents
or in laws. I feel like they're very gender neutral,
but I feel like they're good ideas. Again, you can
also pull other gift ideas from other things that I
talked about, like the candle and candle warmer would also
(34:48):
be really good for a parent or an in law again,
or the anthropology mugs like things like that could also
be a really good gift to give to a parent
or in law. Okay, last, but not least, let's talk
about wishless. My wishless this year is very different than
previous years, I think because I've reached the age where
I'm buying everything and anything for myself. If I see
(35:10):
something I want, I just buy it. I don't think twice,
and I feel like my Mom's like, what am I
getting you? Because you just buy everything yourself, which fair.
I'm at the age where I don't really need gifts,
but I did think of a few ideas when it
comes to the new house, because there is a few
things that I want to get. But I mean, obviously,
we have a house, we've lived here for four to
(35:31):
five years. We've obviously collected things like utensils, dishware, you know,
pots and pants. Like I do have a good assortment
of things that I don't really need for the next house.
But there is like certain things that I would love
to get if you know, Santa wants to give.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
It to me.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
But I would love a arumba. Does anybody have one?
Please tell me if you love it because to my
girlfriends have it. It's essentially a vacuum that goes around
your house through an app and you don't have to
do it yourself. It's cleans your floors for you, which
I think is amazing. My only concern is Freddy's going
to be terrified of it. But it only usually stays
(36:08):
on one floor, so it's not going to go up
the stairs. It's not going to go down the stairs,
and I feel like if Freddy's like on the top
of the stairs, she'll be okay. I don't know the
idea of something cleaning my floors for me twenty four
to seven. I don't have to stress about doing that.
You know, one chore would be a really nice thing
to have. It's all done through an app as well,
So if.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
You have one, let me know. Would love your feedback.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
If you have one and you hate it, please let
me know because then I won't ask it for Christmas.
But that's something that I've been kind of doing my
own research on figuring out if I want to ask
for that or not. Another thing I want for Christmas
is another house item, but I need more stainless steel
pots and pans, just some new cookware in general. I
feel like we've used ours pretty well these past few
(36:52):
years and we haven't really upgraded anything, so I feel
like we need to just you know, replen a few
things when it comes to baking needs and cookwear. I
also want to get a new kettle, So yeah, those
little things are currently on my wish list.
Speaker 2 (37:06):
I also love the.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
Idea of receiving some hosting gifts, so like serving were
I don't really have a lot of just like hosting
items in general when it comes to like, you know,
a nice serving plate to put like multiple things on
when people come over, you know, serving dishware, so like
a big fork and spoon, or like a dessert tray,
a dessert knife, like certain things like that I actually
(37:28):
do not own. So I definitely hope to do more
hosting in the next house, especially when it comes to
like family things. I think we're gonna have a lot
more family events happening at our house, which is exciting,
so I definitely feel like I need to have a
few of those things for the next house. Another thing
I want is leather gloves. I don't know why I
want leather gloves.
Speaker 2 (37:46):
I don't own a pair.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
I think It's because whenever I go out to like
a nice dinner or a nice event in the winter
and I'm wearing like my Amazon or Ritzia like cloth mits,
I just feel not really put together. So I feel
like if I have a leather for like the fancier occasions,
you know, I feel like that's just like a nice
little addition to a fancy outfit. So I really want
(38:08):
some leather gloves. I also think it's just something that
I'm gonna have for a really long time, So just
something that is a need more so than a want.
Speaker 2 (38:15):
And then the last.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
Thing I want is a jewelry item. I really want
those like diamond pinky rings. I think they're so cute.
I I'm just gonna say here because I don't think
my sister's gonna listen to this episode, but I would
love to get my sister and I those matching like
bestie pinky rings, and I feel like she would wear it.
I would wear it. We always talk about like either
doing like matching jewelry or like matching tattoos, like just
(38:38):
kind of like a little sister bond thing. So I
feel like that'd be a really cute gift to give
to your sister or your best friend is like matching
bracelets or matching pinky rings. But that is my current
wish list. I only listed about four to five things
from each category, so there is a lot more options
and ideas that I have under the gift guides that
I actually created through shot my So again, I willclue
(39:00):
the link in the description for anyone that's interested if
they want to check it out get some gift ideas.
Speaker 2 (39:05):
I've put it all there.
Speaker 1 (39:06):
But I hope you guys enjoyed this episode. I really
liked how I combined it with a bucket list on
top of the gift guides because I think it just
kind of really recaps the holiday season of everything I
wanted to share going into the festive season. But I
love you guys also much. I hope you guys enjoyed
this episode. Make sure to follow me on Instagram, TikTok,
and YouTube. As I said, I'm doing vologmiss there and
(39:27):
I would love to give a giveaway to one of
you listeners, so definitely make sure to follow along. It
starts next Monday, so that will be a very fun
and busy month for me for filming, which I'm excited about.
But definitely going to try and manage obviously recording the
podcast episodes as well, so it's going to be a lot,
but I always look forward to this time of year.
(39:48):
But again, I love you guys. Also much thank you
guys for listening to another episode, and I will see
you guys in.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
Next week's episode
Speaker 1 (40:00):
Four
