Speaker 1 (00:13):
Hello, you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
Hawkerel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is
your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
a new mindset, and another day for you to become
the Hawkerel Energy want to attrack. Happy Thursday, you guys.
I know I'm uploading another day late, but again, you
guys know from my last week's episode that I mentioned

(00:34):
that if I can just get an episode up a week,
that's all I care about right now. But Vlogmas has
been so busy. On top of Logmas, I've also been
filming some brand deals for the holiday season, so all
in all, it's just been really busy. And then obviously
I've been doing so many house meetings that it's literally
taking up like two three hours of my day just
sitting and talking about design all that. So it's just

(00:55):
been a very busy December. But hey, I love the chaos.
I love when things are honestly chaotic. I don't know
why I feel like I actually thrive when there's chaos.
I find that so bizarre, but it works, and I'm
loving every second of the chaos and busyness during the
busiest time of the year, and I'm sure a lot
of you guys probably feel the same way.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
I feel like everyone's feeling a.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Little busy during the holiday season just because a lot
of people take time off, and I feel like, you know,
when you take the time off during the holiday season, obviously,
work just kind of like builds up for only like
what two to three weeks in the beginning of December,
so I feel like everybody tries to get as much
as they can done before the holidays, and then that way,
going into January, they don't have to worry about, you know,

(01:37):
just a busy month. It could be more of a
chill month for January. So I feel like we're all
being busy together and that's okay. We're all going to
get through it and we're going to have a great
start to the new year. Obviously, I've been really dedicating
a lot of the December episodes about the new year
because I really just want to start off the new
year with you guys in the best way possible. So

(01:58):
I really want to create an episode I would hear
today about the end of the year reset, so things
you can do to end your year off on the
right way. But also going into the new year knowing
that you got everything that you wanted to do done
over with, you don't.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Need to think about it.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
You're feeling really good going into the new year and
don't need to stress about any little detail. So in
today's episode, we're really going to focus on things you
can do to really mentally and physically feel your best
self going into twenty twenty six, and things you can
do to kind of reset yourself, your home, everything.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Going into twenty twenty six.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
I feel like I've done a lot of videos like
this on TikTok and Instagram where I kind of share
like bits and pieces of things I do to kind
of reset myself for a new year. So I thought
it'd be fun to do it into a podcast episode.
So that's why I thought it was a fun little
episode to record before we talk about things that we
can do to prepare ourselves for a new year ahead.

(02:56):
I thought it would give a little update of things
that have been happening these past few weeks. It was
actually just at a cottage this past weekend and we
celebrated our Galsmas night, which I kind of talked about
it on Instagram.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
If you don't follow me on Instagram.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Basically, what we do is every single year, my group
of friends and I we get together at my girlfriend's
cottage and we literally just have a shopping day together
in town. You know, we go out for lunch together,
we opened gifts together. We do the Little White Elephant
gift exchange with this year, we did something different. We
did the ten Favorites for ten dollars. So basically, you

(03:28):
spend one hundred bucks, you buy ten of the same item,
but it ends up being ten dollars each. So I
bought ten Summer Friday's mini travel sized lip bombs, and
then that was like my favorite item that I use
all the time, and then I gave it to ten
of my friends, and so everyone in the friend group
all bought their favorite ten dollars item, bought ten of them,

(03:49):
and then we just did the whole gift exchange that way.
People kind of walk away with a adult loop bag
is basically what we referenced it. And yeah, we all
walked away with like ten things, and it was kind
of meaningful because it was everyone's favorite item. So some
people did a claw clip, some people did a lip bomb,
some people did sunglasses, body spray, like so many random things,

(04:13):
and it was so cool to people to take so
much home. It also kind of felt like pr in
a sense. So I don't know, I think it's such
a great gift idea and I wanted to share it
here on the podcast for anyone that's wanting to do
a gift exchange with their girlfriends, do this because I
actually find it's better than doing the white elephant or
Chinese gift exchange, the typical one that people typically do.

(04:34):
I feel like with the white elephant gift exchange, sometimes
you walk away with something that you're never really gonna
use because people are stealing it, and you don't end
up with the gift that you actually wanted, Whereas I
feel like this regardless, I.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Feel like you leave with something that you would actually use.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Because the ten dollar favorite that we recommended for our
friend group was things that you use on a daily basis,
whether it's food, you know, skincare, whatever the case may be.
So I feel like everything that I got I actually
really loved and I'm really excited to try out some
new things and again just leave with a few more
things versus just one big gift that someone spent one
hundred dollars on. So just an idea that I thought

(05:10):
I would throw in here for the episode because I
know some people like to do gift exchange during the
holiday season, and I just figured I would share it
with you guys, something maybe to consider for next year
if you've already done your gift exchange with your friends.
But it's such a fun idea and I loved it.
It was such a great way to have into our
galsmith this year, and I always look forward to every

(05:31):
single year.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Hanging out with my.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Friends is always so fun, and being able to, you know,
see each other and spend time together for a weekend
is very hard, I feel like lately, just because we're
all very busy with life. We're all at different phases.
Some people are getting married, some people are getting engaged,
people have bought in houses, people have started new careers
or just work in life. Have been so busy building houses,

(05:53):
you name it. So I feel like when we do
get together, I'm always just so grateful that we're actually
able to, you know, have a weekend together and enjoy
their company. So it was a great weekend and really
enjoyed it. So it was very holiday themed and it
was just really fun to be all together. The last
update that I'll share with you guys that I'm super
excited about is I'm actually getting my final designs this

(06:16):
week for our house, So our kitchen's going to be done,
our living room's going to be done in terms of
like the rendering images, so basically how the kitchen's going
to look like, how the living room's going to look like,
dining room, all that, And I'm so excited because I
feel like we've been putting so much energy towards making
adjustments to these images, and I feel like we've finally

(06:37):
found things that we actually really like that It's kind
of surprising to me because I felt like I was
going to lean in different directions for certain things, but
we ended up going in a direction that I'm really
happy with, and I think you guys are going to
love it. I love this kind of stuff. I swear
like if I wasn't doing this, I would get into
interior design.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
I truly love it.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
And it's been so fun to just learn so much
about in tier design with having interier designers for this house,
and I'm so grateful I did hire them because it's
made my life so much easier like I can't even
explain how much easier things have been doing this with
inchier designers and the builder, because if it was just
me and the builder, I don't think it would be

(07:19):
as nice as it's going to be, if that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Like I think it would have been nice.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
For sure, but it wouldn't have been the turnout that
I would want it to be, if that makes sense.
Like I really feel like it's going to be the
Pinterest images that I see, Like that's exactly what I
think the kitchen's actually going to come out to be.
And obviously I'm putting in a lot of input because
at the end of the day, like we're going off
designs that I want, but the interior designers are making
it happen by knowing like tips and tricks that I

(07:45):
would never know in terms of like the trim detail
for the cabinets, the stain color, things you want to avoid,
things you want to actually add on, things to not
do with the builder, things to do on the side,
Like I've just learned so much throughout the process. Anyways,
I figured I would just share some feedback on that
because I have had a few people ask if it
is worth hiring an interier designer, and I personally think
it is and it's been life changing.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
So anyways, we're going to get into this episode. That's
kind of an update for.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Me how stuff vog miss had my gals miss. That's
a little weekly update. But let's get into today's episode. Okay,
So we are about two and a half weeks away,
three weeks away from end of the year. Twenty twenty
five is coming to an end. One thing I'll know
is definitely making sure you take the time to really
see your vision board and see how much you actually

(08:31):
completed for the year, and see how rewarding it is
and how accomplished you feel for completing so many things
that was on your vision board. I always say they work.
They truly do. I was trying to convince my friends
because some of them do vision boards and some of
them don't. But I'm like, I will have a vision
board party and I will get everyone to create a
vision board, and if you guys come back to me

(08:52):
at the end of twenty twenty six and tell me
that things were actually accomplished on your board, you're gonna
thank me later. I'm like, guys, just listen to my pod.
I talk about it all the time because I just
believe in that stuff, and I truly do think it
makes a huge difference in your mindset when it comes
to actually achieving things for yourself. And obviously it's putting
in the effort and actions of getting towards that endpoint

(09:14):
of achieving those goals for yourself. So first off, obviously
we got to review the vision board that.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
We made in twenty twenty five. I think that's a
non negotiable.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
But we're really going to focus on goal setting and
vision boards and all that in the next episode. So
this episode's more of like a reset of things that
we can do to help ourselves get into the new year.
But we'll talk a lot about goal setting, vision boards,
and all that in the next episode.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
But I just wanted to touch.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Base on reviewing your vision board from twenty twenty five
because I think that's really important to just see everything
you accomplished for the year. But right now we're talking
about the end of the year reset. So everything you've
been putting off, things that you've been ignoring, things that
you probably don't want to do. But I'm telling you
right now, if you actually do it, you're gonna feel

(09:59):
so much better that you did it. This could be
a weekend project, this could be maybe something that you
take a day off work to do, taking a rest
day during the holiday, really just to kind of figure
out everything that you need to do in order to
set yourself up for success to go into twenty twenty six.
So for me, these are things that I strive to
do for probably the next four to five days before

(10:22):
twenty twenty six, So I'm talking like probably December twenty
seventh till December thirty. First, I am going to dedicate
time to do all these things that I strive to
do just to make myself feel more organized, more prepared
for the new year ahead. So the first thing that
I want to do to my entire house is completely
declutter every single thing in my home. So Zach and

(10:44):
I actually did this last year. It took us two
to three full days to do the entire house. We
did our basement, we did our upstairs, and our main floor,
and I'm talking we went through every single cabinet, every
single drawer, every single nightstand, every single closet in our
entire house. And it took us literally three to four days,
but it felt so freaking good. Just to get rid

(11:07):
of stuff, things that we don't need, things that aren't
fulfilling us, things that we needed to get rid of.
It just felt like the best start to the new year.
I just felt so refreshed. I felt like everything was
in the right spots. I didn't have to stress about,
you know, just like clutter anywhere. So if I could
recommend one thing is really dedicating time to just going
through things in your apartment or your bedroom or your house,

(11:30):
going through your closet. Maybe it's selling some clothes and
putting it on Poshmark or Facebook marketplace. Maybe it's donating clothes.
Just kind of decluttering any room or spaces that could
be really messy and disorganized. I feel better when there's
a clean space. I've always talked about this in the past,
but like if I have stuff on my kitchen countertops,
like I feel cluttered, like I.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Don't feel good.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
When I take the ten minutes of actually cleaning up
my kitchen and making everything look organized, I feel better
and I'm ready to take on the next task. I
feel pretty, I feel motivated. I feel proud that I
actually put the effort in taking the time to actually
organize my space. So Yeah, other areas that I can
think of to declutter and just organize are things like

(12:13):
your bathroom cabinets, your kitchen cabinets, your kitchen pantry, your
coat closet, you know by the front door, your mudroom,
maybe your basement storage room. Oh my goodness, that is
one thing that's not going I need to do our storage room.
Oh it is awful. And because we're moving in eight months,
all I can think about is just like preparing for

(12:34):
the move, Like what can we do now to prepare
ourselves for starting.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
To pack up things? Obviously, so we're making it a.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Huge non negotiable to literally organize everything in this house
for the new year ahead, just like getting rid of
things that.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
We were prepared for the move.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
We also need to start collecting boxes to box some
stuff up. All that so just so crazy to think
about that we're moving. But anyways, I know it's going
to feel so good, just like declutter the storage room,
get everything out, and then also just decluttering any bathroom, cabinet, kitchen, pantry,
you name it. So not only are we going to
declutter these spaces, but the goal is to obviously organize

(13:12):
these spaces as well. One big goal for me to
be honest for twenty twenty six is to definitely be
more organized. I felt like I made it a huge
priority in the beginning of the year this year, and
then I really just kind of slocked. I was like, Ugh, whatever,
I don't care, but I want to hold myself accountable
this year and actually like make the effort of being
as organized as I can in this house in the

(13:33):
next house, like really just trying to make the effort
of you know, purchasing Amazon organizers for our fridge for
an example, or our pantry, things in our nightstand, like
having organizers in there, of actually being able to use
this stuff in our nightstand when I just shove stuff
in a drawer, like I have no idea what's in there?

Speaker 2 (13:50):
Do you think I'm going through it? Absolutely not.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
If I open up my nightstand drawer and like things
are like perfectly placed in clear containers from Amazon, like
I know where you know, just like random technology stuff
is like chargers or USBs, like having that and a
clear container my magnesium or magnesium spray or room spray,
like again having that inside my nightstand all organized, Like
I think it's so worth paying for organizers from Amazon

(14:15):
and just having that really organized drawer or space just
makes you feel.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Ten times better.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
So I'm going to really try and make that a priority.
Is just like organizing all these spaces. Also my office,
Like I have so many documents when it comes to
you know, invoices, contracts that I sign, tax documents, all that.
So I'm like, if I can make the effort of
organizing my office, oh, that is also something that I

(14:42):
just like need to make a priority. So just being
better in general with organizing my space, organizing the little
things just to kind of make my life a little
bit easier going into twenty twenty six. And yeah, just
trying to maintain being organized throughout the entire year. Another
thing that I feel like is really beneficial to the
end of the year reset is maybe just doing things

(15:02):
that you've been holding off. So whether it's house projects,
it could be rooms in the house that you've kind
of ignored that you're like, oh, we got to get
around to doing this. Maybe it makes sense to do
it during the holiday season break, like do a room
in the house that you've been avoiding. For us, one
room in our house that we've actually needed to make
a priority is two rooms we need to work on

(15:23):
our main floor bathroom and my office. So obviously I
want to get the podcast studios still set up, so
I'm hoping we can do a little something before we
move out for the podcast. And then also just getting
that main floor bathroom done before moving is like my
absolute goals. So those are two things that we've kind
of been not focusing on. But I'm like, we actually

(15:44):
need to make the effort of getting this done before
the new year. So that's something that we're trying to
make a priority. So if there's things in your house
that you've kind of been pushing off, maybe this is
the time to kind of get that done over with
that way you don't have to stress about doing it
in the new year. Other things that I feel like
are really beneficial when it comes to like an end
of the year reset, is doing a full house reset,

(16:04):
like cleaning the entire house top to bottom, doing areas
that you always avoid. Like I don't know about you guys,
but I hate cleaning my baseboards, Absolutely hate it. Do
I ever, you know, clean my oven the inside of
my oven?

Speaker 2 (16:18):
No, I absolutely hate doing that as well.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
So little things like that where I'm like, Okay, we
need to do a full factory reset on the oven.
We need to actually clean the baseboards, clean the walls,
you know, clean the doors, the door handles, like such
a random area. But again those are things that I
don't typically do on a weekly basis, So just really
trying to make those areas of priority so the house
feels really really clean, and then I feel good that

(16:41):
I actually made the effort of doing it again, cleaning
the dishwasher on the inside, the oven, maybe under the sink,
like just like random areas that I just never really
focus on cleaning, So doing a full factory reset, which
will feel so good. And obviously, like we want to
take down our Christmas decorations, like I usually take my
Christmas decorations down either right before New Year's so I

(17:05):
usually do it like December twenty eighth, December twenty ninth,
or I'll do it like January second or third. More
all the stories that we always figarre Christmas decorations down
during that period of time, just to kind of feel
good going into the new year of having the house
fully reset back to normal and making sure that all
our original home decre pieces are back to its original spot.

(17:27):
So obviously I've moved some things around to accommodate Christmas decorations.
But you know, I'll be moving my olive tree back
to where the Christmas tree is currently, obviously adding some
things back onto our floating shelves. All that, I will say, though,
I do also find every time I take my Christmas
decorations down, I feel like the house feels so empty.
I'm like, we got to stop this place back up. Like, so,

(17:49):
typically I will be at home since in January, which
if you don't know what home Sense is is basically
like a home goods or like a Marshal's just kind
of like an affordable place to find home decor items,
and I will literally be finding things. And I know
for a fact I'm going to be doing the exact
same thing this January.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
I'll be going to Home.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Sense picking out things for my floating shelves. All that. So,
because we got new floating shelves in my living room,
for an example, everything is filled with Christmas decor right now,
I do not have any decor for those shelves, so
I will have no choice but to go to Home
Sense and fill those spaces out, which obviously I'm very
excited about. But I just always feel like the house
looks so empty after taking Christmas decorations down. So I

(18:29):
think it's kind of okay to do a bit of
like a home refresh in the sense where you go
pick up new decore items just kind of make the
house feel a little bit newer and different. And again,
just like that whole refresh feeling of making the house feel,
I don't know, just a little new going into the
new year. So it's always okay to get new decre
pieces and find a way to kind of style your

(18:50):
home in a way that you see for your new
year ahead. So I love home decre pieces and I
love styling my home, so I will never say no
too going a home sense and picking out a few
home decre items. Oh my god, this next one.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
I need to do this. This is like a non negotiable.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
I like, I literally need to do this because if
I don't do this, my phone and my laptop will explode.
I need to do a digital declutter, Like I need
to organize my laptop. I need to go through files.
I need to delete the files that I don't need.
I have so many videos and so many photos on
my phone. Like guys, I pay for extra storage with Apple,

(19:27):
like on top of the storage that I'm probably already
paying for.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Like it's wild.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
I have the biggest iPhone with the biggest storage, and
then I also pay for storage with iCloud, Like it's
absolutely wild. So definitely gonna make the effort of deleting
some stuff. I literally have like so many photos from
our wedding and videos that I just don't want to delete.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
So I almost like.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Want to buy a second phone so I don't have
to delete stuff in order to accommodate, you know, storage,
So I actually think I might do that just because
for my sake, I feel like I can't delete anymore.
There's definitely certain things I can delete, like obviously all
the v log miscl that I've filmed from the beginning
of December, and then obviously by the end of December,
I'm gonna have literally all these videos that I don't need,

(20:07):
so like deleting all that will feel really good and
just any like random videos that I feel like I
don't need. Obviously, I want to keep stuff regarding like
the house process of the building and all that, so
there'll be certain things that I'll be able to delete.
In certain things that I won't, but I do think
it feels really good to just get rid of things
that you no longer need on your phone, whether it's
apps again, if you have big files on your laptop

(20:30):
to get rid of, just like deleting things that you're
not currently using. Another thing is checking your subscriptions. So
Gmail has this new setting where you can now go
through things that you're subscribed to and you can actually
remove yourself from that subscription. So I just discovered this
recently and it has been a game changer. I literally

(20:52):
did this the other day because my email was getting
way too overfilled. So I literally went through it and
I deleted all these subscriptions that I didn't even know
I was subscribed to, and I'm like, wow, okay, we
need to get rid of this stuff. So that's kind
of like things like you know, Spotify could be you know,
things that you've purchased online, like maybe you've signed up

(21:12):
for random you know, membership things for a discount code
that one time, and now you're like automatically subscribed to
for example, H and M, and it's like I don't
want to get this email anymore, Like I want to
be off this email. You can just like completely get
off of it. But there could also be things like
Apple Music or Spotify, like do you need both, let's

(21:32):
pick one or the other. Do you need all the
TV subscriptions like Netflix, Crave, Disney all that.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Can you cut it down to two instead of three?

Speaker 1 (21:39):
So just kind of going through all those subscriptions to
seeing if you actually need it or not. And also
just like those annoying emails that you get from those brands,
Like I said, like clothing brands, like sometimes you sign
up for an email to get ten percent off and
then you're getting like hundreds and hundreds of emails from
this brand about any promotion or any new thing that's
coming in. It's like, let's just get out of that

(22:01):
and just remove it. That way, your inbox is not
going crazy. So Gmail now has an option where you
can delete that, so definitely look into that. I don't
know if Outlook also has that. They might, but I
definitely know that Gmail does it. Another thing is scheduling
appointments for the new year. So your doctor's appointments just
kind of like annual checkups, dentist appointments. I've already booked

(22:23):
my doctor's appointment for the new year, so that's covered
for me. I do need to book a dentist appointment.
That's something that I've definitely been putting off, so that's
something I need to make a priority. I love to
kind of do those in the beginning of the year too,
Like usually I'll have all my appointments booked in January
or February. That waits out of the way, don't need
to worry about it, but it feels good to kind
of just like have the appointments booked, knowing that you're

(22:45):
all set up. Sometimes you can also like think of
appointments that maybe you've been avoiding, like hair appointments.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
Maybe it's time to get a haircut that.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
You've been avoiding, or you know, getting your nails done,
whatever the case may be. Again, just scheduling disappointments so
you feel good good going.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
Into the new year.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
It always feels really good.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
Another thing I feel like always.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Makes a huge difference too going into the new year
is refreshing my calendar. So I currently use Google Calendar.
It's very chaotic right now, I think, just because there's
so many different meetings booked for work on top of
house planning and all that. So I really want to
just like organize it better. And I really just also

(23:24):
want to be better at using my Google calendar for
twenty twenty six, I feel like I can have it
definitely more organized than it is right now. I feel
like right now it's just like random things everywhere, and
I feel like I need to like color coordinate it
or something so it's easier to read. Also, let me
know if you have any like maybe different digital calendar

(23:44):
apps that you recommend versus Google Calendar, Like maybe there's
something better out there that I'm not aware of that
could be better, So let me know. Because I'm not
a physical calendar girl, Like I don't have a calendar up.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
In my kitchen. Although maybe I could have.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
A digital calendar in the new house, I don't know,
like in the next pantry. That could be good. I
think that will be beneficial when I actually have kids
and like we're going to sporting events and leaving the
house more for certain things. I might not need a
digital calendar for just Zach.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
And I because I feel like we kind of know
our schedules.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
But sometimes there is certain things that like Zach has,
you know, hockey or baseball or whatever certain nights and
I have stuff that I do when it comes to workout, classes,
things with my friends, whatever, So just kind of like.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
Knowing our schedules.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
It could be nice to actually have a physical digital
calendar up in our kitchen just to kind of see
what's going on for him, what's going on for me.
As of right now, I'm just using my iPhone for
Google Calendar, and it works, but I just feel like
I need to be more organized and just be better
at inputting dates when it comes to like appointments and
meetings and all that. But it is helpful, but I

(24:52):
feel like there might be something better out there. But
obviously refreshing your calendar if you have a physical one
by a twenty twenty six to one if you have
a digital one, making it all like prepared and ready
for January and the following months for twenty twenty six.
Another thing to be aware of that you should really
be checking going into the new year is membership. So

(25:13):
whether it's a gym membership or just a membership that
you've been paying for maybe for many many months that
you're not using or it just doesn't serve you anymore.
I think it's so important to just kind of reevaluate
and It kind of goes hand in hand with a
financial reset as well. So maybe you've been wanting to
cut costs down and you didn't realize that you were

(25:33):
paying a membership fee for something that you might not
do anymore. It's time to cancel it. We do not
need it anymore. I personally, like have certain gym memberships
that I've canceled because I don't go there anymore. So
I'm only paying for memberships to places that I'm actually
going to that I actually go consistently.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Too.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
If I'm not going to that workout studio every week, like,
why am I paying for the membership?

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Like to me, like, that's a waste of money.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
So really review your membership and just see if you're
actually using this stuff and if it's actually worth it.
Same thing goes for again Apple Music Spotify, Like do
you need both? Probably not, so pick one to the other.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
Again.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
It just kind of helps with a bit of a
financial reset in the sense as well of not overspending
on memberships and only paying for one platform for certain things,
whether it is the gym or it is your music.
And then, as I said, the whole financial reset thing,
it could be really good just to make sure that
you're paying everything that you want to pay for on

(26:32):
a monthly basis. You don't want to be paying for
things that you're obviously not using. It's also good to
do a bit of a financial reset for preparing for
tax season and just kind of like reviewing your budgets,
Like if you are wanting to save for a house,
if you're wanting to save for a wedding, like obviously,
I think doing a financial reset would be really beneficial
just to make sure you're on track for saving for

(26:56):
this big event that you plan on having. Like I said,
if it's a wedding, if it's buying a house, like
making some financial cuts and really reviewing things of like
what do we actually need to spend our money on.
Like yeah, I think it's just important to kind of
just do like a financial review reset, just making sure
that things are like all in line for your finances

(27:18):
for the new year. This is something that I think
is also a non negotiable when it comes to going
into a new year. Is just kind of like replacing
things that might be worn out. So my laptop, I think,
is I want to say, seven years old, and she
is like she is definitely due for an upgrade, like

(27:38):
she is dying. She does not work at all, to
be honest, that is something that I've been completely avoiding.
But like I think it's timed upgrade. It's been seven years.
I think we're due for a new laptop. So that's
just something that's been like very worn out that like
I need to replace. But there's also things like you know,
clothing basics, Like think about a white tank or a

(27:59):
white T shirt. If you've had the same white tank
or white T shirt for like five years, it's kind
of looking ratty. You know, it's not really crisp and
white anymore. It's kind of stained. Maybe it's time to
you know, replund that and purchase something different and again
that new feeling going into the new year, replacing it again,
maybe getting something that's better quality that will last you

(28:20):
a bit longer. Just kind of going through things that
are kind of worn out that you want to replace.
It could be also like a new phone case, a
new laptop case again, something that you've just been wanting
to replace, a new planner, a new calendar, a new journal,
like just replacing things that are due for a replacement going.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
Into the new year.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
That wait, everything again is freshly reset. It feels new,
and it's kind of a great start to the new
year knowing that you've replaced those items and it will
just feel good going into the new year that you
actually made the effort of replacing them. This next one
is something that I feel like I just need a
reminder sometimes because it's just something that I kind of
forget doing. And that's cleaning my car out. I think

(29:01):
that's something that we all kind of forget sometimes. It's
hard when you're a winter girl like me, Like I
have really bad winters here, so literally it gets so
slushy and so dirty, like my car, the exterior of
it is like salt stain, completely just not it at all.
I'm there's no point in even going through the car

(29:22):
wash because literally I would go through the car wash,
I would drive home and my car would look the
exact scene because it just doesn't last in the winter.
But you know, obviously having that reminder of just like
going inside your car taking out stuff that you're no
longer using, I know, I definitely want to do that
once we're done all of our holiday dinners with our
family and friends and all that, I really want to

(29:43):
clean out my car, take whatever's in the trunk that
I don't need out, you know, vacuuming the carpet, cleaning
the leather, all that. Again, it's just kind of like
a nice little reset for the new year of having
a clean car. And I think that's just something that
I don't know as a girl, I just kind of
forget doing that. I feel like some men that are
like really obsessed with our car will like really.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
Like keep up to date with that and all that.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
But I love my car, love her to death, but
I just like have a hard time remembering, like, oh,
I should probably clean my car. So that's just something
that I always forget and just figured I would include
it into this little end of year reset as a
little reminder. And the last step is really just starting
to plan out twenty twenty six our goals, things that

(30:26):
we envision ourselves doing for the new year ahead. Obviously,
we want to achieve big goals for ourselves, and obviously
I think it's just super important to kind of have
a plan of how you plan on achieving these things
for yourself. So I don't want to touch on this
too much, because I do think we're going to focus
a lot on this specific topic in the next episode

(30:47):
about you know, creating categories of goals that we want
to achieve, whether it's career, lifestyle, health and wellness, relationship, finances, skincare,
you name it. We're obviously going to talk about, you know,
how we're going to set those goals for ourselves, how
are we going to make them realistic, and how are
we going to actually take action and achieve those things
for ourselves. So that will be in the next episode

(31:09):
for anyone that wants a bit of a refresh on
how to create a vision board, maybe talk about things
that we can reflect on from this past year and
what we're going to do in this new year that's different.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
In order to make changes to.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Those goals that you may have not achieved this year
that you want to achieve for twenty twenty six. How
are we going to do that. Okay, we're going to
take action and we're going to do these things. So
that is today's episode. I really loved this episode. I
think this is exactly what everyone should strive to do
before the new year, and I know I'm doing this.
I love to do a big, full factory reset before

(31:45):
I enter a new year because I do think it
feels really really good just to kind of get these
things out of the way and just go into the
new year with clear mindset, knowing that everything in the
home is clean.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
It feels fully reset.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
I feel really organized going into the new year, year ahead,
and yeah, I just think it's gonna feel really really
good to have all these things done before twenty twenty six.
