Vi er kommet til gruppe 16 i det periodiske system. Gruppe 16 er måske et af de vigtigste for liv, for det er nemlig bl.a. her vi finder oxygen - Altså ilt! Men udover det finder vi også det ildelugtende svovl, det reklamevenlige selen, det ubrugelige tellur, det radioaktive polonium og endnu et næsten ikke-eksisterende element; livermorium.
Til at gøre os meget klogere på det, har vi selvfølgelig endnu engang Thomas Just Sørensen, Professor i kemi ved Københavns Universitet, til at vælte endnu en søjle i det periodiske system!
