Jyllands-Posten kan nu afsløre Danmarks hidtil største netværk af ulovlige Airbnb-lejligheder.Altså lejligheder, der egentlig er tænkt til helt almindelige lejere, men i stedet bliver udlejet dyrt i kortere tid ad gangen via Airbnb og booking.com og ofte til turister.
Et netværk af såkaldte skyggehoteller, der involverer prominente iværksættere, der før har været i vælten for deres forretningsmetoder, og som benægter at gøre noget ulovligt.
Problemet med skyggehoteller i København er enormt, og selv statsministeren talte i sin åbningstale om at skride ind over for omgåelse af reglerne for korttidsudlejning, så »København ikke udvikler sig til et nyt Venedig«.
