Vito er kun 15 år, da han en aften i november 2023 er bange for at få tæsk og derfor tager en spejderdolk med i lommen. Den aften skal han møde Malthe, og det ender med, at Vito slår Malthe ihjel. Vito får otte års fængsel. I dag afsoner han på en sikret institution, hvor journalist Morten Pihl har besøgt ham over flere måneder og talt med ham om hans liv, tanker og bekymringer. Det er blevet til podcasten "Efter drabet", som netop er udkommet på Jyllands-Posten. Men hvad kan vi egentlig lære af at høre en drabsmand som Vito?
