Wikileaks-stifteren Julian Assange er tilbage i sit hjemland Australien efter 14 års juridisk kamp og 12 års indespærring – både frivilligt og ufrivilligt.
Et foreløbigt punktum i en opsigtsvækkende sag, hvor han undervejs stod til op mod 175 års fængsel for bl.a. spionage, hvis han blev udleveret til USA. Nu slipper han med 62 måneders fængsel, som han allerede har afsonet under sin varetægtsfængsling i London, og kan vende hjem som en fri mand.
Assange har afsløret amerikanske krigsforbrydelser i Irak, men USA mener, at han har sat amerikanske liv i fare med sine afsløringer.
