Glass having lighted.
Speaker 7 (01:22):
Nightingales have this song.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Wow, Hello and welcome.
Speaker 6 (01:30):
We're still trying to figure out the sound bar here.
There's gotta be an easier way to fade than that.
But anyway, Hi, this is Michael Kago and you are
listening to taking taking center stage.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
With me, your host.
Speaker 6 (01:45):
I want to give a shout out to my sponsor.
I am in the part of World Movement Records and
Lamont Patterson and crew over at World Movement Entertainment. They
are a great group of people and I thank them
for the opportunity of doing this, as well as some
of the really cool stuff that's going to be happening
(02:06):
here in the next couple weeks and months are going
to be pretty exciting and crazy. And I had a
guest scheduled today and I got a message that they
weren't going to be able to appear, and I understand,
(02:26):
so we're going to reschedule that. But rather than canceling
a show, I thought I would just open the phone
lines up to my friends. The number is three four
seven three eight eight seven four seven, or you can
click on the link on Facebook. Go to my page
and click the link and there should be a way
to get it in touch with me and we can talk.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
But I figured today we let you be a guest.
Some of you are got so much going on.
Speaker 6 (02:58):
I said it repeatedly, and I don't I don't say
it without meaning it. I have some of the most
incredibly talented and gifted friends anybody could ever ask for,
from singers to actors, to writers, to even people that
(03:18):
work with creative arts, artists and hairdressers and stylists and
people that do costumes. I have been very blessed to
have been in the entertainment business for a long time,
and in doing so, you meet some incredible people.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
And I truly.
Speaker 6 (03:40):
Can say some of my friends are some of the
most talented that you will ever encounter anywhere, and that's
not a mild thing. And those of you know who
know me pretty well, know that when it comes to
critiquing and judging, I'm pretty sincere and honest, and I
will honestly say that my friends are ridiculously good. So anyway,
(04:07):
I am going to just kind of, I guess hope
that some people call in.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
You can just give me a call.
Speaker 6 (04:13):
And we can talk about what's going on, or you
can ask me a question about what's going on with me.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
But most of all, it's just about taking the day today.
Speaker 8 (04:23):
Seeing how long we can go with.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
You as a guest as well. So that being said,
do do do?
Speaker 6 (04:33):
I guess I can talk about me, but I always
feel weird about it. I guess there's a professional way
to do it. Just letting you guys know some of
the stuff that's coming up, I will have a courtesy
of World Movement Records.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
I was in the.
Speaker 6 (04:49):
Studio the last couple of months finishing up some songs
for three holiday releases that will be released through World
Movement and Records, and one is an original that I
wrote and I had taken a stab at recording it before,
(05:10):
but I wasn't happy with the way the way it
was done, and I have a very set idea of
the song when it was written, of the amount of
passion and and that kind of thing, and I was
able to go in the studio and actually make the
(05:31):
version that I have really wanted to make since I
first wrote it, and I'm very excited to say that
that will be coming out within the next couple within
the next few days actually, and then after that there
will be two more. One will be a version of
Married Married Married, did you Know? Which I think is
(05:55):
a great song, and it's one that I felt really
good about redoing and getting in there and and laying
it all out, and it's a great song, really good
message for those of you that celebrate Christmas and are
(06:20):
are of the are are are of the belief that
Jesus is the reason for the season. The song really
fits well. And finally, the last song that will be
released is my interpretation of Holy Night, which was really
kind of incredible to get to do because it's something
(06:42):
that I had wanted to sing forever, and I had
done other people's arrangements and I enjoyed it, but I
always had something in my head of what I wanted
and I have to give a shout out. I went
(07:03):
to Seattle Sound Productions and worked with Jimmy Flaherty and
he produced the most incredible track and we did a
kind of interesting We recorded my vocals a rough vocal
first of where I wanted to go the song to go.
(07:23):
I knew what key it was going to be in,
but where I wanted the song to go to, pacing,
the timing, how the ending was going to be. So
I actually sang. I sang it first, and Jimmy was
able to build a track around that, which was absolutely
incredible to see. A lot of times people do the
(07:46):
track first and the singer comes in and lays down
the vocals. But because I had wanted to sing the
song for such a long time and had to the
concept in my head of the feel and the rhythm and.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
Everything, I got to go in and the vocals first.
A rep track of the vocals.
Speaker 6 (08:03):
He built a skeleton track around that and then began
we began filling in the pieces of that, and then
I went back in and did the vocals for it,
and was mastered and everything so it was an incredible
experience and I absolutely loved it. Jimmy was amazing and
(08:27):
they said he produced a phenomenal track.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
I'm really, really, really proud of it. So I'm not
sure if anybody is hearing me, because.
Speaker 6 (08:36):
Nobody is calling me, and I can't tell if I'm
if I'm going, or if I'm not going, or what's happening.
But i will say that if you want to call,
now is the time. It's three four seven, three oh
eight eight seven four seven.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
If you just want to call in and say hi,
if you.
Speaker 6 (09:01):
Have something to share and want to say something, you
want to ask something, that would be great. If not,
this is going to be an incredibly short show because
I'm not necessarily I am not necessarily someone that likes
talking just about myself, especially since i have so many
(09:23):
amazing friends right now.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
That are tearing up the stage and.
Speaker 6 (09:30):
Tearing up the recording studio, and they got so much
going on themselves, and I'm one of these people that
really enjoys.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
I really enjoy the success of my friends. And because
I don't.
Speaker 6 (09:45):
Know anybody's personal beliefs, but I if you're only on
this planet once, you know, live your best life and
one of the cool things about it is, you know,
the relationships you make with people are the things that
really get you through the dark times and the hard times.
And it's okay also to support someone you know, even
(10:10):
supporting someone that's in the same field as you, because
if you're just if you're going to succeed, somebody else
succeeding isn't going to take that away from you unless
you're a carbon copy of that person. So my philosophy
is that if you have a friend that you can support,
(10:30):
it doesn't take anything away from your ability to succeed
by supporting them and being there for them and opening
doors for them, because in the long run, I think
it will pay itself back. So in fact, one of
those amazing people I think is listening to my show
now and she has I have to tell you her name,
(10:58):
obviously she was the guest before. Her name is Brandy Wine,
and she, I will tell you, has released an amazing,
amazing track and I really hope that everyone gets a
chance to listen to it.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
It was.
Speaker 6 (11:18):
It was a version of a song that appeared in
the Greatest Showman and it was a popular, popular song.
But Brandy is one of those that here's music a
really neat way, and.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
She's more of a rock kind of a rock singer.
Speaker 6 (11:40):
In kind of like an Evanescence kind of very clean
but very rocky voice. And she did an amazing job
on a song called Never Enough, and I hope that
everyone gets a chance to either go to Spotify or
(12:00):
one of their favorite streaming services and look it up
and even more important, maybe download it. It was an incredible,
incredible track, and I've listened to it probably twenty times
in the last four days, and I'm in awe of
(12:21):
her vocal presence, and she has the song itself has
some really cool guitar work she brought in the guitar player.
Reached out to my friend Shane country music singer and
or to see if he'd call.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
It that's awesome. Okay, that'd be great. But I believe
his name is Roger and he is a Hall of
Famer rock and roll hall of famer with heart, and
he did some guitar work on that song. So I'm
just ecstatic for her. So do yourself a favor. Her
(12:59):
name is Brandy Wine b R A N D I
W y n E, and go to her website. Check
that song out.
Speaker 6 (13:11):
She's amazing and put a lot of time and energy
into this song and she really deserves as much recognition
as possible because it's incredible to hear and I just
adore her and while the last note she hits on
that song is just phenomenal. Yeah, I think she got
(13:32):
some really good advice from someone about doing that.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
I don't know who that was, and may have been me,
So yes, she's incredible.
Speaker 6 (13:43):
So anyway, I would love to talk to some people,
and I'm getting messages on Facebook, which is cool, so
hopefully some of them will call in because I am
getting I am getting messages.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
If you want to call in, the number.
Speaker 6 (14:02):
Is three four seven, threeh eight eight seven four seven.
My name is Michael Cagele, and this is taking center
stage with me your host, and we are also heading
into this spooky Halloween season. I've just I've always been
(14:23):
a big Christmas person, you know, I've always loved the holidays.
For me, they start right at Thanksgiving and go through
New Year's then it's all about snowman for me. Everybody
has their their kind of things they enjoy at Christmas time,
and for me, it's just a baso snowmen and yeah,
(14:50):
but lately I've been kind of getting into the Halloween
kind of mood because it's a great way to decorate
your yard, and and you know, I'm all about that.
I'm all about great presentation, and so I've just recently
got into.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Halloween.
Speaker 6 (15:09):
I don't know, is anybody else a big Halloween fan?
Do they decorate their yards? What holidays do you like.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Best?
Speaker 6 (15:20):
So I have a bunch of Sam from Trick or
Treat all over my house because I just really like
the character. And yeah, I a pumpkin on a head
is really kind of cool.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
So but that's just me because I'm kind of strange
and weird.
Speaker 6 (15:38):
And I like so that's my that in Werewolves. Everybody
knows me, knows I like werewolfs. So I don't know
what else to say about that. This is what you
call filling space and time, hoping that someone will call.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
In so that you don't feel so dumb. But other
than that, I will wait to see.
Speaker 6 (16:04):
I guess I could play another song, but it's not,
you know, not my preference to do that.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
I'd rather be talking to someone.
Speaker 6 (16:14):
So I'd really love it if you called aera quote
three four seven two Toho eight eight seven four seven.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
And give me a shout out.
Speaker 6 (16:25):
I'm hoping that last week everybody to tried to call
in said the line was busy, so I'm not sure
if that is a problem. I'm hoping it's not a
problem this week because then I'm really in a bad spot.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
So I'm gonna take a quick little break for a second.
Speaker 6 (16:44):
And uh not that I don't want to hear from you,
In fact, I do, but I'm gonna wait to see
if somebody comes in.
Speaker 5 (16:52):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
Other than that, I hate to do this to you guys,
but here is here's one.
Speaker 6 (16:59):
I'm gonna play some music because I'm a big fan
and a huge fan of this artist, huge fan.
Speaker 9 (17:12):
And.
Speaker 6 (17:14):
I never got to see her perform, and I was
really saddened because I think honestly iconic in everything that
she did and the voice.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
As soon as you hear it, you'll know who I'm
talking about. Enjoy this. I'll be back at the end
of the song.
Speaker 10 (17:35):
Thanks looking out all the morning, Ray.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
I used to be sought inspire.
Speaker 11 (17:57):
And when I knew I had to pay some holiday.
Speaker 12 (18:03):
More pain to feel so time.
Speaker 6 (18:10):
Before the day I met you, I.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Was all in time.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
You are teach and my babies.
Speaker 12 (18:18):
The bat.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Like Conneso woman.
Speaker 13 (18:36):
When my show was in the Lost and Found, you
came along to clean it.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
I didn't know your what was wrong with me.
Speaker 13 (18:55):
To your kids?
Speaker 12 (18:57):
Help me pay.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
Now no longer father a mother of man ball.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
If I make your.
Speaker 13 (19:09):
Hand had bida.
Speaker 7 (19:21):
Like conment your woman woman, Oh.
Speaker 12 (19:29):
Me wat you do what you do.
Speaker 6 (19:34):
Make me so food it s.
Speaker 5 (19:43):
You wanna be.
Speaker 12 (19:47):
Talk to you. You're makes me feel.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
My god national wa.
Speaker 12 (20:15):
Wama ah.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Yeah that's a little arreath at Franklin natural woman. I
just love I love voices that you don't even have
to think who is that that? You just hear it
and you know it.
Speaker 6 (20:36):
It's just it's the tone or the presentation, or the
placement or the you just you know it's like that
is Uh, that's a rita. Uh, that's Patti LaBelle, that's
Michael Bolton. Uh, you know, just vocalist who's Who's I
(20:57):
hate to say this, who who came out when you
didn't need auto tune and you know, layer after layer
after layer to try to create something. They just stepped
up to a microphone and sang and uh you knew
who they were and you.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
Just I love it. There's there's a whole slew of great,
great singers that I that I love.
Speaker 12 (21:27):
Now.
Speaker 6 (21:27):
I'm a huge fan of a Gel and I love
Sean Mandez for many reasons. But uh, there's still people
out today with some really really good, good set of
vocal shops. Kelly Clarkson, uh is is another one. But
(21:52):
it seems like, and maybe this is terrible to say,
but it just seems like the singers before the turn
of the century.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
That sounds so funny to say that before the turn
of the century, just we're more vocalists.
Speaker 8 (22:09):
They they didn't have a lot of.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Gimmicks that that would make them a star. They just
have to step up to the microphone and be a star.
And I just love that.
Speaker 6 (22:19):
And a repail obviously is one of the most iconic
voices that you could ever ever hear.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
You just know as soon as that opens up me
and ah, she's just there. Anyway.
Speaker 6 (22:33):
My number is three four seven three eight eight seven
four seven, And yes, I am talking up a storm.
And I'm going to give this another probably seven minutes.
If I don't get any responses, that's okay. I would
have planned this a little differently, but I didn't want
(22:56):
to just go without doing a show, so I figured
I would at least give an attempt to get people.
I do have people calling in, let me see what
I've got. I'm looking at last four of eight three
four eight, and I'm gonna hit this person.
Speaker 5 (23:14):
Uh yeah, I hope they're good.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
Hello, you are on your Live with Me? Hi? Who
is this?
Speaker 12 (23:25):
Well?
Speaker 9 (23:25):
You know, I couldn't just leave you hanging like that.
I was gonna call in and at least say hi, oh,
thank you.
Speaker 12 (23:32):
Yeah. Lee.
Speaker 6 (23:36):
It is so weird because you know when when you
got something bland and you're like, you're committed, and then
they're like, we can't make it.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
What do you do? You know you want to be professed,
you know, and say, Okay, well the show must go on.
Speaker 6 (23:51):
We're gonna stick with it. We're gonna go with it,
We're gonna push through. And it's a little bit more
difficult when you have ninety minutes said nobody talked to you.
Speaker 9 (24:07):
Yourself.
Speaker 6 (24:08):
I am I'm like, okay, what would I want to hear? Oh,
I'm so obviously on the line. My incredible, dear, dear,
amazing well she's family now. But my compatriot is Brandy
Winne on the is on the line with us, and
I was bragging about you because I'm obsessed with your
(24:32):
version of never Enough.
Speaker 14 (24:35):
Oh thank you.
Speaker 5 (24:36):
I'm glad you like it.
Speaker 9 (24:38):
Yeah, yeah, I wonder who helped me with that head scratch.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
I'm going to tell you it is amazing. Like there's.
Speaker 6 (24:51):
It's just so well put together and well thought out,
and it's it just like you enough of the original
to take people on a journey and then you just
you do your own thing with it, and.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
It is it's really, it's really amazing.
Speaker 6 (25:11):
And I really, really really hope you get the streams
and the likes and the you know, I'm I'm I'm really.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
I have been performing my entire life since I was like.
Speaker 6 (25:28):
Six years old, but getting into the actual business of
the music business is different, and you know, once you've
got a grasp of it, of course, everything went into streaming,
and streaming of course changed what everybody thought they knew
about the music business. And everybody is now, I think,
(25:50):
trying to catch up with with what what to do,
what not to do, and but all I know is
if any if anybody here is listening, if you haven't,
now you have your own website, right brandy Wine, Brandywine Band.
Speaker 9 (26:10):
Brandywine Productions dot Com.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
Yeah, okay, mm hmm.
Speaker 14 (26:18):
Yeah, So I had that set up.
Speaker 9 (26:20):
That way from when I would help with w k T,
so that I could do a shoot off of it
on a separate page for their stuff. Due to COVID
and whatnot, I haven't been able to help them out
in a couple of years now, but you know, in
case that ever comes back around.
Speaker 6 (26:37):
Okay, so, but so, but your music is on Brandywine
Productions dot Com.
Speaker 9 (26:43):
Okay, yeah, Brandywine Productions dot Com or uh brandy Huang
on YouTube and then everywhere else under Brandywine.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
Cool.
Speaker 14 (26:55):
But yeah, the you're you're right.
Speaker 9 (26:56):
The streaming industry has changed music a lot. It's it's
been kind of a double edged sword because it's great
now everybody can get hurt, but now that everybody can
get hurt, everybody gets lost. So the trick is getting
people to actually hear what you've put out.
Speaker 13 (27:16):
It is.
Speaker 6 (27:17):
Yeah, that is because I remember, you know, being a
child of the eighties, I remember, you know, Tuesdays, I
think it was Tuesdays were always the big music release days,
and everybody kind of sat around and waited for who
was going to drop what and you know, what album
(27:40):
was going to come out or what CD was going
to come out, And now it's just like everybody, everybody
with with a microphone, and you know, a good music
program is making music, which in its own way is
a good thing. I guess I can't really slam it
because you know, as an artist, you've got to do
(28:01):
your craft, and I know what that's like. But boy,
it is hard to be recognized and a see with.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
So much out there.
Speaker 9 (28:10):
So yeah, but well, and it's harder too as an
indie artist or an independent artist to get people to
listen to yourself because now they're more leary because anybody
can put something out. You've got the really great artists
out there that want to be heard and should be heard.
But then you've also got you know, random you know,
(28:30):
mad or Adam or whoever in their garage trying to
put something together, and in reality they're toned up. So
it's like a double edged sword. So once somebody gets
once or twice those types of people up on their
new release or the new release music or indie music rotations,
(28:50):
then they're like, oh, I don't want to do this anymore.
So it can really hurt artists that are, you know,
trying to trying to get out there and do it,
but there's no way to filter it or I mean before,
if you didn't have a label to submit your.
Speaker 14 (29:07):
Stuff, it didn't get out there.
Speaker 9 (29:09):
So it had to be at a certain level. Now
there's no filters anymore. And that's not to say that
you know, independents shouldn't do it. They totally should, and
you know, you have to put your stuff out there
and you have to try.
Speaker 14 (29:21):
But yeah, that's just another one of the little pickup.
Speaker 6 (29:24):
What was.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
What was the what was the most exciting part of
the process of doing that song?
Speaker 11 (29:35):
What?
Speaker 1 (29:35):
What what part of that made you just like go, yeah,
I'm so excited honestly meeting.
Speaker 14 (29:42):
Roger Fisher.
Speaker 5 (29:46):
Heart.
Speaker 9 (29:46):
I loved the band Heart, I still do, and so
he was someone I listened to for a long time,
and I've always admired his guitar playing. I mean, he's
the one that came up with the risk for bair
Kuda and.
Speaker 14 (30:02):
I've always looked up to him.
Speaker 9 (30:04):
So getting to meet him in person and he's the
nicest guy and just get to shake his hand and
watch him do his craft, it was great.
Speaker 5 (30:13):
I loved it, but.
Speaker 9 (30:15):
Yeah, it's it's funny because when I mentioned that I
was going to try and do a rock cover up
that most people kind of shook their heads and they
were like, no, no, that can't work. And it was
interesting to see then the reactions change after it came out.
It's like, no, no, I got people who knew what
they were doing.
Speaker 14 (30:32):
It's it's all good.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Fine, I would actually play it now.
Speaker 6 (30:38):
I don't have it as a track. I mean yeah,
because uh, what do you mean? Well, yeah, I mean
the software as that I'm using. Uh, I'm trying to
figure out how I would do that.
Speaker 14 (31:00):
I mean, huh, where do you pull your music from
using that program?
Speaker 1 (31:08):
I have to pull it from? How I do this?
I need start pressing buttons? No, there, let's see if
I go to audio.
Speaker 6 (31:20):
This is so funny and this is this is the
kind of show that I figured I would do. Where
I look, Okay, so I had o. I have to
make it as a file so if I get if
I get them, if I get it, then I can
download it maybe download it.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
To my my.
Speaker 6 (31:41):
My my, Uh what's it called my desktop? And then
from the desktop is ordered.
Speaker 9 (31:48):
In Okay, so I wanted to give a suggestion to
I totally think you need to do, like what the
last or first Friday of the month or whatever, do
like a cagele's karaoke corner and have some of these
amazing people that you know as artists come in and
sing live for people. I think, you know what, I'm
(32:10):
extremely entertaining.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
I you know what, I absolutely love that idea. I
really do, and and and I and it's true. I
might my circle of friends is ridiculous, Like I just.
Speaker 6 (32:26):
Yeah, I'm blown away at the the incredible level of
talent that that exists. But I will what I would
like to do is I will get your track put
into my audio clips file and that way I can
play it whenever.
Speaker 5 (32:43):
I want to.
Speaker 9 (32:45):
Oh, no worries, I can.
Speaker 6 (32:49):
What have you gotten good response? I've seen some of
the people's comments, you know, on on threads about it,
and they're like pretty impressed.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
Are you feeling and are you feeling good with the
response that you're getting? You know what?
Speaker 9 (33:05):
Some of them have been, you know, amazing. I've gotten
some that again they just didn't really want to even
listen to it because they were a little too leary, which.
Speaker 14 (33:16):
You know, they're lost, but I've gotten some really good feedback.
Speaker 9 (33:19):
I've shared it a couple of different places. Besides the
normal streaming platforms, there's certain like Facebook groups and TikTok
groups and you know all that stuff. I think the
nicest comment, one of the nicest comments I've gotten was
I had a gentleman who I don't know, and he
wasn't a follower of mine, but he is now apparently
(33:41):
say that I had one of the best voices he's
heard in the music industry in a while. So I
was really flattered by that. And I was like, oh,
that's great, and he's like, yeah, I'm gonna start following
all your stuff now, like yay, small victories.
Speaker 15 (33:56):
It is, oh, you know, it starts with you know,
it starts by Unfortunately, it's weird because you your friends
support you, but.
Speaker 6 (34:12):
They're not as rabid as someone rabbit, I guess is
not the greatest terminology, but they don't get as excited
as maybe someone that discovers you, that doesn't.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
Know who you are. You know, it's I'm married, and.
Speaker 6 (34:30):
You know I get compliments from you know, my husband
all the time, you know about I'm good, but not
I'm not how do I say this correctly? There's very
little that I do now that wows him because he's
heard me. He's heard me do so much stuff already
(34:53):
that it's hard for him to get excited, as opposed
to if I go somewhere and no one's.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
Ever heard heard me, then they're like, oh my god,
you or whatever. And it's because you're new.
Speaker 6 (35:06):
So it's cool that you are reaching out and people
are hearing you that that aren't just your friends, so.
Speaker 9 (35:19):
Right, well, and it's it's funny too because friends and family,
you know, we love them and we appreciate all their
supports and right, but after a.
Speaker 14 (35:29):
While, you don't know if they're saying stuff just.
Speaker 9 (35:32):
To be nice or not.
Speaker 16 (35:34):
What so I mean?
Speaker 9 (35:36):
And I hate to I don't want to sound like
a jerk or anything, but you know, a compliment from
a total stranger will always have a little bit more
weight than a friend or a family member.
Speaker 14 (35:46):
Because you never really know be like, oh, are they
saying that be.
Speaker 9 (35:48):
Nice or are they you know, being genuine or But
also as a musician, I always because of that, I
always want to help other musicians, which is why you know,
when I was messaging you before us telling you I
was trying to get to another singer on your show
for you. He might need some more advanced notice though,
because he is super busy.
Speaker 14 (36:08):
My buddy Shane Shane Thornton.
Speaker 9 (36:12):
He's an amazing country singer. He was a jma's Male
Songwriter of the Year in twenty nineteen. He's been on
the RCAs AM Yeah, the Acmas in twenty twenty. In
twenty twenty one, he used to.
Speaker 14 (36:28):
Be a basist for Jeff Bates.
Speaker 9 (36:30):
I mean, he's he's a great an all around great
guy too. So I was like, I was really hoping,
but you know when people get to that level, they're
also super busy.
Speaker 14 (36:40):
It's like, oh, come on, please, he's done for like
another forty five minutes, right, So.
Speaker 9 (36:48):
But yeah, and you know, like I said, in any
exposure is you know, good exposure for all artists. You
never know where you're gonna find that next fan. And
in the music industry, which you really want to attribute
or what you want to attract or what they call
the core group or super fans, because those are the
ones that are really going to promote and push your
music and follow you and most artists that they can
(37:10):
establish anywhere between like twenty to one hundred of them.
You know they're good, and those are going to be
total strangers that don't know you but really love your
stuff and believe in what you're doing.
Speaker 14 (37:21):
So uh but yeah, so anyways, but I tried, well.
Speaker 6 (37:26):
Dan, you that's one thing about you. You You definitely
you are a big support of those around you. I mean,
you're you're as much as I know you want to succeed,
You're not all about just you though, And that's a
really nice refreshing thing because there's, like I said, there's
(37:47):
a lot of people that.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
You know, there's a lot of people that oh what
was I going to say? Wow, I was reading all
these messages coming in Yeah, ah, where was I at.
That's what happens when you read three messages at one time.
Your head goes waw, it's okay.
Speaker 14 (38:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (38:12):
I try to support other artists because I know how
difficult it is, and I want to see people who
have talent succeeds. So even if it's not me.
Speaker 6 (38:21):
And I don't think, you know what, and I don't
think people, I don't think I do know what I
was gonna say, I don't think people.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
I don't think that people realize that.
Speaker 6 (38:31):
And I was saying this at the beginning of the show,
I don't there are so many people that are afraid
of complimenting or supporting someone else in the area that's
they're in. They're so afraid that that person will, you know, succeed,
(38:52):
and that they won't that they just spend their entire
time asking for support from other people but not giving.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
And I will go like this, yes, go ahead.
Speaker 9 (39:03):
Now, go ahead, finish, finish your sentence because I'm gonna
go off time.
Speaker 1 (39:06):
Well, I was just gonna say.
Speaker 6 (39:07):
I, you know, because you know, the music industry, just
like acting, just like any kind of performing guards is competitive.
You're going to always have someone that's right underneath, you know,
that's greeting on on your neck, or that you're competing with.
But the bottom line is is that if you have
(39:30):
what someone wants and you can deliver it, then it
wouldn't matter if someone else is competing against you. If
you're the best one for that job, or the best
one for that position, or the best one for that
role or you.
Speaker 1 (39:49):
Know, the then you're gonna get it.
Speaker 9 (39:52):
You know.
Speaker 6 (39:53):
Uh, if if I have a friend named Sam, and Sam,
you know always competes with me for gigs. I shouldn't
hate Sam if Sam gets gigs, because if I'm competing
with him or in the ring with him, quote unquote,
and I'm doing everything that I can but they're still
(40:15):
getting the gigs, then there's something about Sam that's good
and I need to acknowledge that.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
But I wouldn't I.
Speaker 6 (40:24):
Wouldn't stop Sam from I wouldn't stop celebrating Sam, you know,
his promotions.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
Just because I wasn't getting something. And it's just that's
just my philosophy.
Speaker 6 (40:39):
I'm like, you know, I want to succeed and I
want I want to be able to do as much
as I possibly can.
Speaker 1 (40:47):
But I'm also going to go out there and support
my my friends that are doing the same thing, you know,
because this is a tough business and so it is.
Speaker 9 (40:58):
Yeah, I'm me give me your number again, give me
your number, calling number one more time.
Speaker 17 (41:04):
What was there?
Speaker 9 (41:04):
What's your calling number?
Speaker 1 (41:06):
It's three four seven.
Speaker 14 (41:09):
Eight three eight eight eight seven four seven.
Speaker 9 (41:16):
Okay. Speaking of absolutely amazing artists, I have a friend
of mine.
Speaker 14 (41:24):
Her name is Tamari.
Speaker 9 (41:26):
She is a South Washington person who is the lead
singer for a band.
Speaker 14 (41:33):
Called Lung Duster.
Speaker 9 (41:34):
They're a rock alternative band in the area. They're relatively new, however.
Speaker 14 (41:40):
They have been getting amazing reviews written.
Speaker 9 (41:42):
Up about them and have been Bookie shows left and right.
And I believe she's going to call in so we
may have another person here so she can talk to
you about their new groups and what's going on with them.
Speaker 1 (41:53):
Awesome, because that's how we do things here.
Speaker 9 (42:00):
It is, of course, Well, like I said, I want
to have anyone who does music, but I'm trying to
type at the same uh time here. Yeah, So she's
absolutely amazing. No, the off topic, when I was gonna say,
you totally should have uh, Chris, I always say her
(42:24):
last name wrong, Goen. You could have her come on
and talk about her podcast The Before You Swipe, because
she does that whole podcast about dating apps and profiles
and being a PhD in sexual uh I don't know
what it's considered sexual doctor or whatever. She her podcast
(42:47):
is absolutely hysterical that she does with her friend, and
I bet you that would be a really fun episode too.
Plus she's a singer, and you know she competed in
the karaoke circuit and all that, so you know, I
can still Talian, but yeah, her podcast is awesome. It
always makes me laugh.
Speaker 1 (43:07):
I've got okay, I'm gonna be connecting color.
Speaker 6 (43:13):
At the last four digits or a three six one,
and I'm gonna go lie let's see.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
Uh Hello, you're live a three six one. Who is this?
Speaker 14 (43:25):
Helly?
Speaker 11 (43:25):
This is Timmery Moxie.
Speaker 5 (43:28):
There she is.
Speaker 1 (43:29):
We were just talking about.
Speaker 14 (43:32):
Yes, this is not a lead singer for lung Duster.
Speaker 9 (43:34):
It's an amazing band that recently started in Washington.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
Whereabouts are you located.
Speaker 11 (43:40):
We're located out of Tacoma, Washington.
Speaker 6 (43:44):
Oh, okay, you're not that far. Okay, You're not that far,
all right, So tell me about yourself. Tell me about
your group.
Speaker 11 (43:53):
Well, we form back in June of this year, and
it's been kind of a a whirlwind. Things have taken
off really quickly. But as a whole, there's.
Speaker 16 (44:06):
Four of us in the band, and.
Speaker 11 (44:08):
As a whole, we have over fifty years experience in
the music industry.
Speaker 13 (44:12):
And.
Speaker 11 (44:14):
I myself have been in other rock bands for years.
I have a degree in vocal performance and we've all
been performing for a long time, but this is the
first time we've performed together and it's just been absolutely magical.
We do a lot of sort of rock.
Speaker 5 (44:37):
Rock, billy punk type music and.
Speaker 14 (44:42):
Now we just hit the ground running.
Speaker 1 (44:46):
Wow, dude, are you doing originals covers?
Speaker 5 (44:51):
Both?
Speaker 11 (44:53):
So we started out with just a couple of original
songs and now we have about seven. We do kind
of fill in.
Speaker 18 (45:02):
Our set list with a couple covers just to kind of.
Speaker 11 (45:06):
Keep the crowd interested and ramped up and whatnot until
we can kind of fill in those gaps with the
energy we're looking for with some more originals at this time,
like I said, I think we have about seven originals
written that we're performing.
Speaker 6 (45:23):
Yeah, So where do you get? Where have you gotten
to performs?
Speaker 1 (45:28):
It far?
Speaker 18 (45:30):
Performed at the Plaid Pig down South Tacoma Away, the
Airport Tavern on South Tacoma Away, and the Valleys down
on Puallup Avenue in downtown Tacoma.
Speaker 11 (45:45):
We've done a few.
Speaker 18 (45:46):
Private gigs and on November fourth.
Speaker 11 (45:50):
We'll be at the Plaid Pig.
Speaker 1 (45:54):
Is that the Plaid Pig?
Speaker 8 (45:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (45:57):
Okay, So what what part of performing do you like
to ask.
Speaker 5 (46:08):
For me?
Speaker 11 (46:09):
I love the energy exchange between me and my fellow
musicians and between us.
Speaker 9 (46:17):
And and the crowd.
Speaker 11 (46:19):
That is my favorite part of performing. It really is
magic when you get that that energy back and forth
between the people who came to watch you and support you,
and and between you and and and your music family, right,
and it's uh, it's really something that I live for.
Speaker 9 (46:41):
I think we need to ask for a while tomorrow.
How did you come up with the name lungduster?
Speaker 1 (46:46):
I didn't.
Speaker 11 (46:48):
I did not come up with that name. It actually
came from our guitarist. He uh, he actually brought that
over from a former band he was in. And you
have to ask him where that name comes from, because
I honestly don't know.
Speaker 9 (47:04):
But I like the way it sounds so and I
like the stickers, so I'm not complaining. Yeah, I might
have a couple of those stickers on my guitar case.
Speaker 1 (47:15):
All right, everybody, everybody stay on. I've got another color.
Eight hold on eight nine one Oh. You are alive?
Speaker 8 (47:26):
Eight nine one oh?
Speaker 1 (47:27):
Hi? Who is this? Hello?
Speaker 8 (47:32):
Eight nine one oh?
Speaker 1 (47:37):
Is there somebody there? I know there's somebody there. You're
showing up, But okay, I'm gonna put you back on hold.
But thanks for calling. Yes, I'm glad.
Speaker 6 (47:50):
Yeah, somebody's on I mute or something that's fine, I'll
come back to you in a little bit.
Speaker 1 (47:55):
Last four did is eight nine one?
Speaker 13 (47:56):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (47:57):
I did recognize you. I'll get back to you and
little bit and now we'll go back to the others. Hi,
how are you so your How did you first start singing?
How did you get into singing?
Speaker 11 (48:17):
For me, I've been singing since longer than I can remember.
I do have a memory of performing solo in church
when I was five, and it was always something that
I did and and my dad kind of helped bolster
(48:38):
that and see that desire that I always had to sing.
So growing up, it was always singing at church, singing
at school, and you know, I always had more of
a formal choral till about my late teens when I
(48:58):
was really finding my own sound, and then into my
twenties as I started working with more recording artists and
exploring different things that I was interested in doing and
the sounds that I was wanting to create with my voice,
(49:19):
and it.
Speaker 9 (49:19):
Took a long time.
Speaker 5 (49:20):
That's that's one thing.
Speaker 11 (49:21):
I'm also a vocal coach, and I work with my
students and I always tell them my goal is not
to make them sound a specific way. My goal is
to make them sound like their best possible self.
Speaker 1 (49:36):
Cool. So, yeah, that's something I've done.
Speaker 11 (49:40):
Singing has always just been a natural thing.
Speaker 1 (49:44):
That's awesome. Yeah, I'm I. Also I also do vocal coaching,
and even no matter no matter what I'm doing, no matter.
Speaker 6 (49:56):
What level of performance that I'm doing, I always maint
paying UH spots for students because I love being able
to UH give back and I love seeing people achieve,
you know, their goals and their dreams, or at least
reaching their best potential.
Speaker 1 (50:18):
And so I I I relate to that a lot.
Even when I when I was in Vegas, I was
even though I was doing.
Speaker 6 (50:26):
Showrooms and and performing nightly, I still had my students,
my students during the day, some of them.
Speaker 1 (50:34):
And I just loved it because it was such a.
Speaker 6 (50:38):
It was such a great way to stay in touch
with with your foundation, but also to kind of give back,
and and that's awesome.
Speaker 1 (50:46):
That's really nice to hear.
Speaker 11 (50:49):
Absolute. I always feel better after a day of coaching
my students because it almost feel selfish because it is
helping me to stay connected to the foundation of singing,
and I also end up warming up my own voice
(51:11):
and my own body in the process. When I'm helping
them and coaching them through it. But I love I
love seeing that next step, that next goal achieved in
my students when they they find the the control in
their soft palette and and their their voice and they
(51:31):
open up and they hear that ringing that maybe they've
never heard come from themselves again like before, and and
it's wonderful to see them light up when that happens.
Speaker 1 (51:42):
That's great, Michael.
Speaker 9 (51:46):
You should have her. You should have her to your
your ca gol corner and seeing something for everybody. Since
I don't think she has any music released yet, that way,
they know what she sounds like.
Speaker 14 (51:58):
I'm so horrible. Oh my god, where are why aren't
you roping me into Yeah?
Speaker 5 (52:07):
She's like, man, I'm not.
Speaker 9 (52:08):
I'm never trusting this girl again.
Speaker 1 (52:12):
What are you?
Speaker 5 (52:13):
Well?
Speaker 1 (52:14):
I got an idea. Give me a taste of what
you sound like acapella.
Speaker 11 (52:20):
Okay, let's see. I'm gonna hold my phone away from
my face.
Speaker 14 (52:30):
I know that I know that one.
Speaker 11 (52:35):
Let's see what.
Speaker 15 (52:44):
The seven.
Speaker 1 (52:49):
Bring it to your name?
Speaker 16 (52:52):
Black ould.
Speaker 5 (52:59):
Wow figures out?
Speaker 1 (53:04):
Wow? I I like.
Speaker 11 (53:08):
You?
Speaker 1 (53:09):
Yeah, I like good tone, really nice tone. Yeah. If
I can analyze that, Wow, there's a lot there to
really like, Uh, really good.
Speaker 14 (53:22):
She's a really nice She's got great stage presence.
Speaker 1 (53:26):
Yeah, yeah, that's really nice.
Speaker 11 (53:30):
That's my superpower, evoking emotion with my voice.
Speaker 14 (53:35):
Okay, I like the melt faces.
Speaker 1 (53:37):
Make people crack.
Speaker 14 (53:44):
Yeah, yeah, I know for the melting faces part.
Speaker 5 (53:47):
Yeah, yeah, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (53:50):
You seed it?
Speaker 14 (53:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (53:52):
Are you the Are you the lead singer for the
group or do you guys take.
Speaker 11 (53:56):
Turns or I'm the lead singer right now?
Speaker 1 (54:01):
We do have.
Speaker 11 (54:03):
Well I think we have one two. We have two
songs that my guitarist will sing to kind of give
me a break once in a while, and I'll just
kind of do a little backup vocals for him, little
rhythm stuff. And as we move forward with our writing,
I think we'll start finding a little more balanced because
(54:25):
some of our stuff could get pretty heavy, and so
I have to give myself a little bit of a break.
And we really tailor our set list so that I
don't get vocal fatigue in the middle of the show. Yeah,
And so our songs will kind of hit hard at
(54:46):
the beginning and then calm down a little bit and
ramp up and then calm down and then you know,
big finish, big finish at the end of the set,
so that I don't end up wiping myself out.
Speaker 1 (55:01):
That makes sense. How long does your stats usually last?
Speaker 11 (55:06):
Well, right now we could. We do have enough songs
to do maybe an hour and a half, but typically
when we're doing the local music scene, they allow about
forty five minutes to an hour. And so our goal
is to have a full album released in spring, and
(55:33):
not all the songs that we currently have written are
actually going to go on the first album we released,
So you know, we're trying to build kind of a
catalog right now and be able to do shows like
summertime festivals where they may want more than an hour's
(55:54):
worth of music and really interdisperse more covers and originals
for things events like that, because we actually were invited
to quite a few of those this summer, even though
we literally just started in June.
Speaker 1 (56:11):
That's amazing.
Speaker 11 (56:12):
Yeah, again, it's.
Speaker 16 (56:13):
Been it's been really.
Speaker 11 (56:17):
Fantastic and stocking and you kind of we've kind of
had to sit back and really analyze what the hell
has happened in the last five months because it's just
went so fast. So to performed together, just.
Speaker 1 (56:38):
How how do listeners follow you, where should they go
to follow you?
Speaker 16 (56:43):
So we have a Facebook page it's lung Duster one word,
and an Instagram lung Duster Underscore Music.
Speaker 11 (56:56):
You can follow us there, see any events that we
have coming up, any shows, kind of see what we're
doing in the studio a little bit. We are we
should be launching a YouTube channel next week, I think,
And yeah, and uh, we're we're we're building the social
(57:19):
media platform because I recognize where that's going to need
to have a little more attention. We do have a
sound cloud. It is also just lung Duster. There's currently
nothing on it, but it's there. It's set up if
people want to follow us on that platform.
Speaker 1 (57:43):
So what what what's your guys' goal? Let's say, in
the next what what would you guys like to be
doing within the next three years?
Speaker 11 (57:55):
I know what I would like to be doing, and
that's actually a conversation I should probably sit down and
have with the guys and see what the long term
it looks like for them.
Speaker 5 (58:06):
I know that.
Speaker 11 (58:07):
Like I said, it's it's been June, July, August, Optember
four months and where we are now is crazy. So
in three years we could be touring the.
Speaker 16 (58:24):
Lower forty eight.
Speaker 11 (58:25):
You know, it's it's not out of the realm of
possibilities because our like I said, our goal is to
buckle down this winter and get the rest of our
album written, recorded, mastered, and have an album release party
by four that's the goal.
Speaker 1 (58:46):
Okay, all right, Well, I wish you the very best.
I will probably bring you on again, so.
Speaker 6 (58:57):
Maybe a little bit closer to maybe the beginning of
the year, see where you guys are at and how
how the writing's gone and and everything. But yeah, that's exciting. Uh,
connect with me on Facebook. I'd like to stay in
touch with you and and you know, uh, follow up
with you individually as well.
Speaker 11 (59:18):
So absolutely, Uh it was a joy talking to you, Michael,
and I will yeah, I'll reach out to you right
now when we get off the phone.
Speaker 1 (59:27):
That's awesome, And thank you so much. I really do.
Speaker 6 (59:30):
I really wish you the badt I. It's nice to
see success stories happening.
Speaker 16 (59:35):
So it is, it is, it is the Panini. It's

Speaker 11 (59:44):

Speaker 9 (01:00:26):
And uh, if you if you managed to to get
them back on the show, maybe you can get all
of them together in the same room, which would be
hysterical because her other bandmates have awesome personalities too, so
and you know I know that, I know this is.
Speaker 13 (01:00:45):
What you want to do.
Speaker 1 (01:00:47):

Speaker 5 (01:01:16):

Speaker 9 (01:01:27):

Speaker 12 (01:01:33):

Speaker 5 (01:01:34):

Speaker 1 (01:01:45):

Speaker 5 (01:01:48):
I'm doing good, good, are you doing the show? Huh, yes,
very much, I love it.
Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
Thank you. So what would you like to talk about
or say or ask?
Speaker 5 (01:02:04):
Or I don't know what I want to talk about?
What do you want me to talk about?
Speaker 1 (01:02:11):
Ah?
Speaker 6 (01:02:16):
It's one of those calls, Oh no, no, where they're
allside and then and then they get shy.
Speaker 5 (01:02:25):
I would talk about myself, but I'm not going to
a board your listeners.
Speaker 1 (01:02:33):
We'll give us. Give us a little tell me, tell
us a little bit about yourself so we know who
you are at least.
Speaker 5 (01:02:41):
Okay, well, what do you want to know?
Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
What?
Speaker 12 (01:02:48):
I like?
Speaker 1 (01:02:50):
Whatever? You here's the thing I'm you're known.
Speaker 13 (01:02:55):
As an artist.
Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (01:02:58):
I don't like talk about blindness, but I'm a blind
I like to crochet.
Speaker 9 (01:03:07):
I I think I know who this is.
Speaker 5 (01:03:10):
Did you compete in.
Speaker 14 (01:03:13):
Before?
Speaker 1 (01:03:14):
Uh?
Speaker 12 (01:03:15):
Uh?
Speaker 14 (01:03:16):
Did you compete in w KT?
Speaker 11 (01:03:18):
Yes?
Speaker 14 (01:03:19):
I did? I know who this is? I knew I
recognized that voice.
Speaker 12 (01:03:25):
My I.
Speaker 9 (01:03:26):
Yes, I saw you when you perform in Vegas.
Speaker 5 (01:03:34):
I didn't and in Vegas, but I did it in Seattle.
Speaker 16 (01:03:38):
Oh, in Seattle, I know it was.
Speaker 5 (01:03:39):
One I did. But I had this guy as like
one of my karaoke judges. Uh huh, you just hush.
So anyways, uh.
Speaker 14 (01:04:04):
Kine hockey nervis cliche.
Speaker 5 (01:04:10):
And I also like to sing too. Okay, So I've
done karaoke, I've done some audition. I've no, I'm not
doing karaoke right now, but I am singing.
Speaker 1 (01:04:31):
Well, say what what's some of your favorites? What what
is some of your favorite.
Speaker 8 (01:04:37):
Music to sing?
Speaker 5 (01:04:39):
I love Elvis.
Speaker 1 (01:04:42):
Elvis.
Speaker 5 (01:04:44):
I've made a mistake on one of my auditions a
few years back. I had them saying, well, you know,
you shouldn't have done Elvis, and I said, well, I
sat Darren that okay, Yah, you didn't like it, luff
all right with me?
Speaker 1 (01:05:04):
I you know, huh.
Speaker 5 (01:05:10):
I moved on and sang other songs. And you know
I didn't go through the keep on singing, but you
know I did try out. But I can talk about
(01:05:30):
my other hobbies a little bit if you.
Speaker 1 (01:05:34):
So, how did you get into How did you get
into crocheting?
Speaker 5 (01:05:39):
How did I get into crochet? That's a good question. Well,
my real mother she was in a lot of craft.
She was in the sewing, crochet, anything, and so learn
on a big cook it's a kahuk. And I did
(01:06:05):
rugs and then I did as hands and like I said,
I don't see, so I have to do it a
different way. I have to pull the hook in one hand,
and then I have to take the yarn and the
(01:06:28):
pattern I'm working on. Let's say I don't know making
a potholder, scarf or something, right, So I have to
take the pattern and I have to hold it in
my left hand, and then I have to fill all
the stitches with my left hand. Oh wow, one of
(01:06:52):
these days, maybe I'll have to come back out here
and show you guys, you know demons straight. If you
want want.
Speaker 6 (01:07:03):
Interesting, I'm I'm completely lost when it comes to crocheting.
Speaker 1 (01:07:09):
So uh, I can talk.
Speaker 5 (01:07:12):
About yorn, I can talk about the different hooks I
use learning about different croche huts because some patterns like
for example, Oh my gosh, I hope I'm not boring
your listeners. If I am, If I am, you know,
(01:07:36):
I can save this for another time.
Speaker 12 (01:07:39):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:07:39):
I don't think you're boring anybody. I don't think you're
boring anybody.
Speaker 5 (01:07:46):
Okay, okay, gave If you want me to finish, I
will anyway. Before I finish, I also like to sing
other songs and I've already sent found myself three more
new songs.
Speaker 1 (01:08:05):
Wow, okay.
Speaker 5 (01:08:07):
And when I did my karaoke, I'll go back to
the crochet in a minute. I did not have the
screen in front of me.
Speaker 1 (01:08:18):
I had to.
Speaker 5 (01:08:19):
Memorize all my lyrics. Yep, I memorize the tune and everything.
So that's how I did it.
Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
Good for you.
Speaker 5 (01:08:30):
Now I'm going back to the crchet. So I make.
Speaker 16 (01:08:35):
Different things, and.
Speaker 5 (01:08:39):
So when you have different patterns and different yards, you
have to use different hawks. And there are I don't
know kacked top of my head, there's a few, and
I had to buy a couple more because I did
(01:09:00):
not have them in my possession. But most of the
time he used an H hook. And before I use
the H hook, my mother had me practicing on the
K hook and oh man that I used for like drugs.
(01:09:25):
And then I started doing afgan. I can do scarves
one holders. I make different things than going to be
selling somes in December. So there are different yurns out there,
(01:09:48):
and I have two stores I.
Speaker 1 (01:09:51):
Like to go to, and.
Speaker 5 (01:09:56):
I, you know, can don't we teach anybody the basic stitches,
but I don't know very many fancy ones. So don't
ask me.
Speaker 13 (01:10:11):
And so.
Speaker 5 (01:10:16):
My room mother taught me, like I said, and I've
probably had other people in my family do it, but
I didn't.
Speaker 11 (01:10:26):
It there.
Speaker 1 (01:10:28):
Oh, yes, I'm here. Well, I go ahead. I was
gonna say, I'm probably bring you on another time. We
can talk a.
Speaker 8 (01:10:37):
Little bit more.
Speaker 1 (01:10:38):
But I wanted to thank you for calling and saying
hi and sharing the lot. That was very nice.
Speaker 5 (01:10:47):
Well, I wanted to help you out, you know, you
pinch to help you out because I also could talk
about my dad a little bit. He was a musician.
He played the piano and he sang and uh.
Speaker 1 (01:11:06):
Stuff like that.
Speaker 5 (01:11:07):
I can talk a little bit. So if you ever
want me on another time, I'd be happy to do it.
Speaker 1 (01:11:14):
Thank you so much, Rebecca. I do appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (01:11:18):
Well, this is not my phone. I'm using somebody else's phone.
Speaker 1 (01:11:22):
Okay, So I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:11:26):
If I ever go live with you, I don't know
if there's a link or I would shat on my iPads.
Speaker 1 (01:11:33):
Yeah, you can do it on your iPad, you definitely can.
Speaker 5 (01:11:37):
Okay, Well then I'm gonna have to all right, Okay,
thanks Michael, and ok you you stick here.
Speaker 8 (01:11:48):
All right?
Speaker 5 (01:11:49):
Oh you too? Don't eat too much candy.
Speaker 1 (01:11:52):
Ah, well you do you.
Speaker 5 (01:12:00):
All right?
Speaker 12 (01:12:01):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (01:12:01):
Wow, Okay, so we are writing down us.
Speaker 6 (01:12:05):
See, I didn't have any guests at the beginning, and
now I've I've had three, So I'm excited.
Speaker 1 (01:12:11):
Are you still with me, Brandy?
Speaker 14 (01:12:13):
Yep, I'm just listen.
Speaker 1 (01:12:17):
Well, I did want to say something.
Speaker 6 (01:12:19):
I can't do a music show and can't be a
singer without uh taking a moment to talk about, uh,
the passing of Wow, another legend in the music industry.
Jerry Lewis passed.
Speaker 8 (01:12:35):
Away today, and uh, he was you know, he was
a pioneer and definitely one of.
Speaker 1 (01:12:48):
Everybody.
Speaker 6 (01:12:49):
You know, everybody talks about Elvis and I you know,
I'm a I'm a fan of Elvis and and but
there were so many people that were influential and and
really set the wheels in motion for rock and roll.
And you know, you can't you can't really talk about
that era and the legends and the giants of that
(01:13:10):
without talking about you know, Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard.
You know, those two were so so important to rock
and roll in the beginning. And yeah, he was I
believe eighty nine.
Speaker 1 (01:13:30):
Eighty seven, eighty seven. Wow.
Speaker 6 (01:13:34):
So you know, and he had his he had his
you know, share of controversy and and but at the
end of the day, he was a you know, like
I said, he was definitely a pioneer and a true,
a true what's the word I'm thinking of he was
(01:13:58):
in He was a serious influen into music and rock
and roll and both I remember they said both him
and Elvis at one time were uh competitors, but also
friends and you know, they they shared a lot of
the same.
Speaker 1 (01:14:21):
Interest and energy. So I'm excited.
Speaker 17 (01:14:25):
I mean, i'd probably say he was probably the in
the first person to coin the rockabilly sound, you know,
back in the day, and that's influential even today for
a lot of modern rock and roll.
Speaker 9 (01:14:43):
We always go through these phases of what in rock
and roll is predominant.
Speaker 5 (01:14:47):
But that really was his And for those of people
who are listening who don't know who that is.
Speaker 9 (01:14:52):
One of his biggest hits was like Great Balls of Fire.
He was considered a revolutionist in piano. He just I mean,
he was such an amazing, amazing artist, and he helped
write so many songs. I mean, yeah, I think he
(01:15:13):
also did me and Bobby McGee. He helped write that,
which is another oldie, but goody that you know you
hear at karaoke all the time.
Speaker 1 (01:15:23):
But yeah, he was.
Speaker 9 (01:15:24):
He was an amazing person and it's gonna be it's
gonna be felt now that he's gone.
Speaker 1 (01:15:31):
And if I yeah, you were.
Speaker 6 (01:15:33):
Right, if I remember I on the opposite end of
the spectrum, was it was it his cousin or his
brother was.
Speaker 1 (01:15:44):
Jimmy Swagger?
Speaker 9 (01:15:49):
I don't remember, to be totally honest, I know, I
know he got the Many Lifetime Achievement Award and into
Grammy Rock Andball Hall of Fame, and he just got
inducted into the country used the Hall of Fame in
twenty twenty two. So at least he lived long enough
to see that.
Speaker 12 (01:16:10):
That is.
Speaker 1 (01:16:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:16:13):
Well it was kind of weird because I remember yesterday
and Wednesday there was this meme going on about that.
Speaker 1 (01:16:21):
He had already passed, and then his.
Speaker 6 (01:16:26):
Oh, I don't know, his manager or his representatives said no, no,
he's he's still alive.
Speaker 9 (01:16:31):
But you know, but now evidently he did pass, so
it's beneficially announced. Yeah, it so I guess some of
the one of the stories I should say that I
heard about that because I was one of the ones
who posted about that the first time around, or rather
shared a post about it, is I guess he went
(01:16:51):
in the hospital and he supposedly died for a short
period of.
Speaker 14 (01:16:55):
Time, and people caught wind of that, and so they
they put out there.
Speaker 9 (01:17:00):
But then he had been revived, so then the managers like,
he's not dead, he's not dead, And I think he
made it another forty eight hours or so before he
officially passed away and they couldn't bring him back. So
I actually did not hear the story behind why he died.
Speaker 14 (01:17:18):
Did you happen to?
Speaker 12 (01:17:20):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:17:21):
No, I mean eighty seven's eighty seven is a healthy,
healthy lifespan, good age.
Speaker 14 (01:17:29):
Yeah, I mean that's a good age.
Speaker 9 (01:17:31):
If I live to be eighty seven and still moving
the way he did, you know, I'd be pretty happy.
Speaker 1 (01:17:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:17:37):
Yeah, so we want to if I had some if
I had goodness, gracious gray balls of fire on my
settle side playing right now.
Speaker 1 (01:17:46):
But I don't. I just know, you say, my nerves
and your run on my brain too much of that. Yeah,
there you go, Ye, there you go.
Speaker 12 (01:17:58):
That's there you go.
Speaker 1 (01:18:04):
Anyway, thank you for calling in. You're so awesome.
Speaker 6 (01:18:09):
I wish you the best luck and obviously we'll see
each other quite often because that's what we do.
Speaker 1 (01:18:15):
We get to hang out. And I think you're doing
a private gig tomorrow night. Correct.
Speaker 9 (01:18:22):
Yeah, so my band is going to be performing Innahomish
tomorrow night. We are up at the Eagles Club, which
is normally a member's only event. So yeah, it's kind
of like a private gig. If you know someone who
is an Eagles member, you can kind of get a
side pass to sign in as a guest for the evening,
(01:18:44):
which is great because they have really cheap alcohol and
really good food. But again, part of it is you
have to be a part of that society. You have
to like be nominated or something. And our faith player
David happens to be an Eagles member for Kirkland, so
we play a couple of their of their venues when
they want to have us out. So they're doing their
big Halloween bash tomorrow night with a costume contest and
(01:19:07):
all that good stuff. If you know someone and want to.
Speaker 14 (01:19:10):
Go, it's it's a great idea. Otherwise I can't help
you out. Sorry, will they say we're friends with the band?
I mean, yeah, you couldn't get away with that.
Speaker 9 (01:19:23):
If you said you're friends with the band, they might
just have you sign in the guest list and you
can waltz on in. But that would mean they have
to listen to your podcast to do that. So I mean,
I guess I could. If anyone does that and they
they want to confirm it with me, tell them to
say that Michael, Michael gave you permission to come, and
I'll give a pass on it and I'll find you in.
Speaker 6 (01:19:41):
So all right, Well that's our show for today. So
I was gonna say, are you doing anything spooky this weekend?
But I guess performing is spooky enough.
Speaker 12 (01:19:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:19:59):
Ye, that's always a thrill. So you know, live music,
whatever can go wrong will go wrong.
Speaker 14 (01:20:04):
So so will you say perform?
Speaker 1 (01:20:07):
Are you dressing?
Speaker 13 (01:20:08):
Uh?
Speaker 9 (01:20:10):
Yes, and no, I am going in a nineteen twenties
down so kinda, but I don't. I don't do the
Halloween dress up things so much.
Speaker 14 (01:20:23):
So Uh, it's it's dressing up without having to dress up.
It's my cheater method.
Speaker 1 (01:20:32):
All right, Well, thank you so much everybody.
Speaker 6 (01:20:34):
Noddy is the one and only brandy Wine, who I
am very glad to say, stops in all the time
and makes my podcasts a podcast, or make my radio
show sound even more better than it possibly ever could,
if that makes any sense.
Speaker 14 (01:20:48):
Yeah, I still I still want to hear you do
the karaoke corner too. Are you going to take request on?
What you think?
Speaker 5 (01:20:54):
And I put you up to it?
Speaker 9 (01:20:56):
You like, Michael, I want to hear this?
Speaker 1 (01:20:59):
Yeah? What's would you want.
Speaker 13 (01:21:02):
Me?
Speaker 6 (01:21:03):
Ooh?
Speaker 13 (01:21:09):
What is?
Speaker 9 (01:21:10):
I'm trying to remember the name of it.
Speaker 14 (01:21:12):
It was from the Second.
Speaker 9 (01:21:14):
Phantom of the Opera that you used to do.
Speaker 14 (01:21:16):
I loved that song.
Speaker 1 (01:21:19):
Un till I hear you sing Yes.
Speaker 9 (01:21:22):
Yes, I love that song when you used to sing.
Speaker 14 (01:21:24):

Speaker 1 (01:21:27):
I love that song too.
Speaker 12 (01:21:29):
I love that.
Speaker 9 (01:21:30):
But other people, I'm sure have other ones they can
put you up to.
Speaker 11 (01:21:33):

Speaker 9 (01:21:39):

It's incredible. So all right, everybody, I'm gonna sign off
with a song. And when we're doing, we're doing. But
thank you guys for hanging out with me so long
and making the day work. I was not going to
do a show, but I'm glad I decided to stay
with it. I can almost see.
Speaker 4 (01:22:37):

head saying you'll never reachch it. Every step I'm tearing

and I want to thank you guys for listening.
Speaker 6 (01:26:17):
Once again, I want to give a shout out to
World Movement Records and I am.
Speaker 1 (01:26:21):
Indie for helping sponsor this show.
Speaker 6 (01:26:25):
It's truly an honored to be able to do this
and I hope you guys are enjoying it. If you
know any musicians, friends, performing artists, actors, directors, writers, singers, poets,
whatever that do performing creative arts, this is a place
for them to take center stage and talk about what
(01:26:45):
matters for them and maybe together we will create a
center stage that we all want to inhabit. So have
a great one and take care, Happy Halloween and remember
