All engine running.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
It's Tuesday. You know what that means. It's time for
Cognition with the aw Fan podcast team. This is Kelson
and we've got a lot to talk about. Guys. We
got a full house of panelists here tonight, so thank
you very much for showing up. We're broadcasting live on
x We're also broadcasting live on Twitch and you'll be
able to hear this Wednesday morning on your favorite podcast provider,
(00:44):
whether it's Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or whatnot. Let's start talking
about some uh, some interesting stuff. The first thing I
want to talk about is the Continental Class on Dynamite
tomorrow night. We've got two Gold League matches and one
(01:06):
Blue League match, so well, let's start talking about the
Blue League. The Blue League tomorrow night. Kazuka Kazuchika Okada
versus the Bastard Pack, and then we have Kyle Fletcher
against Kevin Knight. Now Kyle Fletcher has three points, Pack
(01:26):
has three points, and Kevin Knight has three points. All
three of those gentlemen have three points. Of course, Kazuko
Kata lost his opening match to Kyle Fletcher.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Wasn't Yeah, so that of course.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Okata Speedball Mike Bailey and Darby Allen have zero points
because they lost their first match. So this is the
second match. What do you guys think? Let's start with
Kazuko Okada and the bastard Pack. What do you think.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
I'm gonna go with Ocada? I think this will be
reminiscent of their match at Dynasty last year. You know,
park Park looking very strong, you know, taking it to Ocada.
But Ocada just being the big match guy, especially when
(02:33):
his I don't want to say in bags against the
wall after one loss, but he's going to be looking
to prove that loss was just a that was a
one time thing. It ain't happening again. Nobody's taken that
title from him like one loss. Okada is far more
dangerous than champion Okada.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Right right now, I can agree with you there. What
about what about the rest of you? What do you
guys think?
Speaker 4 (03:02):
My brain says Okada, but my heart says Pack, or
rather my gut. I mentioned last week that I thought,
uh Pack sorry was going to run roughshod through this
tournament and be like a surprise winner of the whole thing. Possibly, Yeah,
(03:25):
I think I it could easily go either way, but
I think Pack's probably gonna do it.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Well, Look, do you think they're doing this with Kazuska Cotta?
Do you think they're gonna do it Eddie Kingston with him?
If you remember the First Continental Classic, Eddie Kingston lost
his first two matches and of course went on to
win it. Do you think they're doing something similar with
uh with Okada on this one?
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Who?
Speaker 5 (03:48):
I certainly you know that.
Speaker 6 (03:50):
That's the one thing I dislike about this tournament is
the first three years have kind of been predictable, kind
of what's gonna happen. There's not a lot that's like,
you know, Karda lost his first match, kind of figured
out what's gonna happen.
Speaker 5 (04:07):
But no, I don't know. I think I think is
gonna I don't think he's gonna lose again. So I
don't see him beaten. I don't see Pop beating tomorrow.
Speaker 7 (04:14):
Yeah, I agree with Sutton. I don't think this that
story for Eddie made sense of the time. I don't
think that's a story like Okada needed to pull himself
up by his bootstraps to you know, fulfill his destiny,
which was the Eddie storyline. I don't see any reason
for Ocottay two losses in a row. Story Wise, I
(04:36):
could see this being a draw, though, you know, I
could see I think the first week and maybe this week,
but I think especially the first week was was them
just saying, hey, anybody can lose in this tournament, and
it was clear, like I didn't think Fletcher was gonna win.
I was surprised actually on all the victories the first night,
and I think I think that's just kind of the
(04:57):
way they're going to go here. Uh, they have an
idea who who is going to be in the finals
for sure, but I just think this year may just
be the this is the Banger tournament, and the people
that need to win and the people that'll give points
to just to put them in the semis. I don't
think we're gonna have too many other storylines coming out
of it other than that.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
I think you're It's interesting what you said that you
were surprised at who won last week when you look
at the Gold League Butcher beat Ocatta, Kevin Knight beat Darby,
Allen Pack beat Speedball Mike Bailey, and I think out
of those three, maybe it wasn't a surprise that Pack
beat Speedball. But the Kevin Knight beating Darby, Allen was
(05:38):
kind of surprised. Fletcher beating the greatest tournament wrestler ever
was a you know, big feather in his cap.
Speaker 7 (05:48):
Yeah, yeah, there was. I'm sorry there was another upset
that night. It wasn't in the league that I was
surprised about. But yeah, I didn't think either of those
were going to go that way. I thought I thought
Darby was going to get the win over Pack, right,
not Pack Pack, And I did not think Fletcher. I
thought they would maybe do the tie route because they
(06:11):
do points for that with Fletcher and Olkata. But no, man,
they gave my guy that clean win and kept that
build going without that title.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
So yeah, I'm I'm glad that they did clean wins
in the first week. Anybody else have any thoughts on
the Gold League before we move on to the Blue League.
All right, so the Blue League. We only have one
match in the Blue League this week on Dynamite, and
that is going to be Claudio Castignoli against John Moxley,
(06:42):
Battle of the Death Riders. Of course, John Moxley, Claudio
Casigi and Kenoski Takeshta won their three matches or won
their first match. I should say the losers were Roderick Strong,
Mascara Dorata and Orange Cassidy. And I would be honest
(07:03):
with you. I don't know how you guys feel, but I
wasn't surprised by any of those results. I don't think
any of those were shocking at all.
Speaker 7 (07:12):
No, clision was very predictable. But those matchups weren't screaming
upset either, you know what I mean? Like, I think
I think the Legito cot of Kyle Fletcher in the
the Kevin Knight and uh, who did you.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Wrestle shit Kevin Knight Darby at Arby Darby?
Speaker 7 (07:33):
Like, like, those weren't ones that I They weren't paired
up where it was obvious. So I just I don't know.
Closion was just very predictable. Calson to your point, I'm rambling. Sorry, Well, I.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Gotta say one thing about the Blue League match on Dynamite,
Claudio Casauli against John Moxley. I hope to God that
that one is not a draw. I I do want
to see a winner in that one. I want to
be I want to to be a normal match. What
you would expect Claudio to do and what you would
expect Moxley to do. I don't want them to hold
(08:09):
back or show do too don't show too much respect
and friendship.
Speaker 7 (08:14):
Yeah, the template for that go ahead and that I'm.
Speaker 8 (08:17):
Sorry, no, no, it's okay. I was just saying that
I really like to see them let go and really
have a really good match. It has the potential, sure does.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
Let us not forget that pretty much every single member
of the Death writers was giving Moxi evil eye after
a after full gear. So yeah, I think we may
be able to be about to see something spicy. I'm
looking forward to it.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Yeah, I mean, I mean what I was going to
say is that the way Marina Shaper was looking at
job Moxley, it was like that was like every man's
ex wife, you know, that was like god, just you know,
I just I wanted to curl up in the corner
suck of my thumb in a fetal position.
Speaker 7 (09:05):
So if you're booking this, and I think most of
us here agree that someone's gonna stab mox in the back,
it's just who's going to take over after him. People
don't know. But like, if Max loses the Claudia and
I think that's the way they're going to go. Here,
he does one of those promos after where he's still
trying to convince them he's the real winner because of
(09:27):
some thing that other you know thing that happened, just
like he was still the winner out of the match
we all saw him lose. I think that's the way
they're going to go. And if they do that, do
they do another backstage thing or or do they like
kill him in the tournament, Like does Claudio just end
him right there?
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Well, you know what I'm thinking. Yeah, And it's if
I'm not mistaken, it is when you get the World's
in and you have the two semi final matches, Yeah,
it's Blue one against Gold to and Gold one against
Blue two? Am I correct in that?
Speaker 7 (10:06):
Cross?
Speaker 9 (10:09):
That's what I'm assuming as well? Yeah, yeah, I have
to look it up. If that's the case. I think
the two semi final matches should be Ta Keshta against Okada,
which means one of them will win one of their
leagues and the other will.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Come in second. But the second, uh, Chris, you need
the mute or somebody meets mute. The second one should
be John Moxley and Pack because it looks like Pack
has the most angst in the angst and is assumed.
(10:47):
I would say he is. He has assumed a leadership position,
facto leader leadership position in the death rids. I think
pack is going to run the table on this one.
I really do. I think that. I think that the
semi finals at World Dead is going to be when
the turn happens on Moxley.
Speaker 7 (11:09):
I mean, if you're if you're booking him as the
new leader. Yeah, yeah, running the table makes it's a
smart move.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
Yeah, I would completely agree.
Speaker 5 (11:18):
I kind of got to disagree on one thing.
Speaker 6 (11:21):
I don't think that if you're going to have because
we all know that this is leading to a Okada
showdown where Okada's going.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
To turn or Takesha is going to turn face, leave it.
Speaker 6 (11:32):
On callis family the superstary should become. I don't think
you do that in the semi finals. I think you
have to do that in the final. It's a bigger
it's the bigger match, the biggest match you can have
come out of this tournament.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
At least to me, it is.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
I I know, I agree with you, but it's also
super predictable.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
Well, I mean that's what they do with this tournament.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
Think about it. They never but why does that have
to be the finals? The finals are out? Is also
a world end, world's dead, you can they're still gonna
have the match. It's just the finals.
Speaker 6 (12:06):
I just I don't know. It just seems like it
should be the final. It just seems like that's the
the what the final match should be. I mean, doing
it and you do it in the semis that if
you know the match and if to catch the beats
Ocada in the in the semi finals, they're all going
to say, well, it wasn't the finals. People, you know
how people can be They'll say, well, this wasn't that
(12:27):
an important match, because yes it was a semifinal, but
he still had another match to go. So I just
think it's you could still do everything else. Just I
think those two have to win their type, their their divisions,
if you want to do it the right way.
Speaker 5 (12:40):
That's just me though, But.
Speaker 10 (12:43):
Be Ocada Cash is going to beat Ocada. I don't
think you. I don't think you think. I don't think
you can pass the tour. I don't think you could pass.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
I think is going to find a way to win
and then he will be able to hold over Tichuester,
the fact that he still has his title because Tequesta
is going to lose a Wrestal Kingdom, I believe, and
he won at Wressell Kingdom.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
You're like, yeah, but is it Russell Kingdom after is okay?
Speaker 3 (13:22):
So that's the point. But Okada is going to beat
Tikester and hold that over him, and te Testa is
going to go into his Russell Kingdom Matt having to
see Okada in the main event. Even though Tiquesta is
the iw GP heavyweight champion.
Speaker 5 (13:42):
Tequest does not lose.
Speaker 6 (13:43):
I mean, I mean, I get what you're saying, but
the premise that it's going to be to Guess to
say or Okata saying I still hope have my title
doesn't make any sense because Taquest has not lost his
title yet and I seriously doubt that they're gonna Then
that's the other reasons.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Okay, we're getting a man.
Speaker 11 (14:07):
Yeah, the.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
World's End is the twenty seventh. Russell Kingdom is the fourth.
I'm not saying Ocada is going to say that immediately
after the match. I'm saying he's going to say that
after Wreussell Kingdom. All this is going to we're not
going to see Okada or Tequesta right after World's End,
(14:34):
is what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Okay, I think before uh, that part of the conversation
kicked off. Was it Jess or net that was trying
to chide me?
Speaker 4 (14:46):
If we can circle back to the Death Writers thing
for a second. I know that there is a strict
no interference rule in place for the tournament matches, but
what about after.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
The that's happened before, once the batch is over, don't
forget you also could look at before.
Speaker 4 (15:04):
No it it would make more sense after because like
after mox is knocked out of the tournament by assuming
let's say, pak Pack, I need to get used to that.
Oh then like I could just sort of like a
maybe a thumbs down from the new king and then
(15:26):
like the rest of like the Death Writers loom like
from like the back, like a pack of animals and
just as.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
Art right right now that that's a good, good point.
I have a counterpoint to that, and I'm interested to
hear what you, Jess said. Anybody else wants to chime in. Honestly,
I have one sentence to come down to John Moxley
versus the bastard Pack in the semi finals, maybe the finals,
(15:57):
you never know, because that is another big match, although
I think it is definitely more effective as the semi
final match. That being said, I talked about a turn
and everybody's expecting a turn. Everybody that I've seen posting
on you know, Reddit, or on the discord or on
(16:18):
other social media is expecting the turn time to do
the unexpected. And it makes sense to do this. If
you remember back in the Blackpool Combat Club days, who
was it that turned her back on the Blackpoole Combat
Club and walked away and left them hanging. It was
(16:39):
the Bastard Pack. What if the death writers turn on
the Bastard Pack and not on John Moxley because they
see him as, for lack of better words, of cancer
working in the locker room and in their training and whatever.
Just throw that out.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
But I don't think I'd like that as my not
quite as dramatic.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
It's not maybe not as dramatic, but it is probably
more unexpected. I mean, you know, if there's one thing
about Tony Kahan that he has a weakness in doing,
is sometimes he outright telegraphs things, you know, whether it's
the Continental Classic, whether it's even the owen Hart's been
(17:26):
telegraphed pretty bad, you know, in the past, so.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
I don't I guess I wouldn't mind so much.
Speaker 4 (17:34):
I mean, just because you can see something coming doesn't
mean it's going to be bad when it happens.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
No, of course not. But in some cases it was.
I mean, the whole Ricky Starts winning the owen Hart
that year was just awful. I'm sorry it was. You know,
I did not enjoy that. It was just so telegraphed.
You knew it was gonna happen. The matches were great,
but there was pointless because you knew it was gonna happen.
(18:01):
Anybody else have any comments about the Continental Classic or
Dynamite or what they think is going to happen at
the end.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
I just gotta say I love that all three of
these matches kind of have their own story, not just
as part of the Continental Classic. Like with Maxley and Claudio,
you have this whole crazy death writers angle, what the
hell is going to happen? U With Okada and Pocket,
it's a rematch, which is all Those are always fun
(18:33):
as long as if the first match was really good,
which theirs was. And then I mean Fletcher and Knight.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
You have.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
If I went forward into twenty to twenty thirty and
someone told me that Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight is
the main event for all In, I would have one
believe it, Like those two guys are the future of AW.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Yeah. I don't. I can't argue that at all.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
Oh yeah, I just think it's kind of easy. Even
within the Continental Classic, there's still kind of the individual
stories of the matches. You know, all three matches should
be really good. I can predict winners, but I'm like
with everyone, it's like, if I'm choosing one, it's like
(19:23):
fifty one forty nine that way. It's like, but I
think it's a nice deal for each match to have
that as well.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
By the way, MK is in the chat and he said, wow,
big group tonight, it really is. Thank you guys for
joining us tonight. Let's move on because we have another interesting,
interesting match going on on Dynamite and that is the
second semi final for the AW Women's World Tag Team Championship.
(19:57):
We have the Timeless Love Bombs against the Mega Problems.
What do you guys think here? Who's going to win this? Wait?
Speaker 7 (20:05):
Is that actually their name?
Speaker 2 (20:07):
I love it?
Speaker 3 (20:07):
It's wonderful.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
Okay, okay, so, but does anybody have anything about the
match and not just the name. I don't know it's
gonna win, man.
Speaker 7 (20:18):
I thought for sure the story coming out of Blood
and Guts was going to be the Timeless Love Bombs
getting their revenge on what do they call this, the
Mega Problems is their name?
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Now?
Speaker 7 (20:31):
Getting their revenge and the Mega Problems and then facing
the Evil Dolls or whatever that called.
Speaker 12 (20:40):
Things, the Evil Dolls, the Evil yeah, the Vampire Sisters
those but.
Speaker 7 (20:55):
I thought, and then they triumph over the last evil
team that you know, beat them in tune into their
life in the finals, but with I can't remember that.
I want to come leave with balls again with them
losing to the Mega Bators of Wrath or Wrath. Yeah,
the base know what's going to happen here, man, Like,
(21:17):
that's out the window. So I can totally see the
Golden Lovers, right.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Yeah, I got to make a pupy right clean here.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
You're not allowed to do that.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
That's my genre that I got.
Speaker 7 (21:40):
I got way too excited about explaining this and forgot
everybody's name. Yeah, hopefully you're able to follow.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
I was waiting for you to break out the old
cibon and garfunkle. I really was.
Speaker 7 (21:54):
I'll show Oh boy, I appreciate you for tolerating.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
My just wow. Remember kids, crack as whack.
Speaker 4 (22:07):
It's the time of love bombs and the mega problems
and the brood.
Speaker 8 (22:14):
And all sisters I call them sisters and sin I
don't even know who they are anymore.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
There you go. Let's well, let's get back to the
match itself. Who do you who do you think and
who do you want to win? I mean, is there
is there a difference between who you think should win
and who you who you want to win?
Speaker 4 (22:38):
I'm sorry, the.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Timeless love bombs all the way.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
Yeah, I will never not root for me to share
awa me.
Speaker 6 (22:55):
The only problem with that is is if you want
a traditional good versus Evil final, you have to have
the the the evil women win.
Speaker 5 (23:04):
They no choice in the matter, because it's just.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
I don't want a traditional evil final. I want to
fun teams that are going to have an amazing match,
Like not every match has to be heel versus heel.
And the thing is, you know, Mina and Tony can
work a little dirty, you know, draw some booze from
(23:28):
the crowd, but it's perfectly fine to have one. Like,
we like both of these teams. Well, you know, we
may want we may want to see this team win,
but we'll be happy if this team wins too. Like,
there's nothing wrong with having two fan favorite teams faced
off in a good match.
Speaker 7 (23:49):
You know, Chris, you say something that just triggered and
I'll go ahead and not time in please.
Speaker 8 (23:54):
Oh well, it relates to this a bit, and it
relates to the Death Riders. I kind of had a
theory that Tony Storm is actually going to do something
to John Moxley, and you all just made me think
about it when we were talking about who's going to
win this match, and we can we can get into
(24:16):
it with Poe Peari, but I just had I have
a feeling that there's something going on deeper with Tony
Storm and John Moxley. So Barry go ahead, please, I
interrupted you.
Speaker 7 (24:29):
Oh you didn't at all. I talk a lot, so
I think we were saying a couple of weeks ago
prior to like right after Blood and Guts are Like,
the finish of that match was great because of the
emotional connection with the best friends and lovers or whatever
of Tony and Mina, But Mina wasn't originally supposed to
be in that match, you know, just like Marina Shaffir wasn't.
(24:52):
And so I'm thinking, like Tony Kahan has an idea
where he books and he always gets back to what
he had planned to do. And if you look at
the finish of that match, I think we were talking
another team that would have kind of made sense with
would have been Chris Statlander and Willow. But I was
also thinking would that work with Willow and Harley if
(25:15):
that was an original finish they were going to do
with that too. So if they had went that route
and that was Tony's plan, they would in essence be
getting their revenge on the bad guys right now after
beating the Sisters of Sin and then the Mega Problems.
So that was the original path they was going to go. So,
you know, in retrospect to the to the Babes Wrath
(25:38):
winning last week, which I thought was a surprise, I
would not be shocked if if the Golden Lovers not the.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
God like.
Speaker 7 (25:51):
And remind said and Tony, don't try the game and
I did it right the first time, I would be
shocked and lost. I'm going to think of it, and
they go with the mega problems. Here's the other thing,
world for gidding.
Speaker 6 (26:05):
Tony Cohen has a pension for putting tag all titles
on heels more than he does on faces.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
So there's only one heel.
Speaker 6 (26:14):
Team left, and they have to lose Mina and and
and uh have They have to lose in order for
that to happen. So I think that's the route he's
gonna go.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
I should I should have.
Speaker 7 (26:28):
The biggest baby faces to push the new title, like
on your most popular wrestlers. That's not a bad movie either.
If they go baby face, baby face to go ahead
and tell some them no.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
I was gonna say that, I need to make a
poster every week and just have the list of the
names of people were talking about so that we could
tell everybody gets it. It's it's too funny. Yes, that's good. Well, well, look,
I don't know what you guys think about this, but
(26:57):
I'm looking at it from this. I did not expect
the Sisters to send the lose to the Babes of
Wrath last week. I understand why they did, but I
didn't expect it because I really thought that finally, finally,
sky Blue was going to get or get her flowers
(27:19):
and was going to have a chance to a real
chance to get any belt and be the first well
half what half of the first AW Women's World Tag
Team Champions. Sky Blue has been working her tail off
for AW for years now and has really nothing to
(27:43):
show for it except, you know, her audition for you
know Carrie, you know, with the buckets of blood that
was pouring down her, down her head and onto her
over her face, you know, And when I look at it,
Harley Cameron has been she's been a revelation. She deserves
(28:06):
the belt. It was a topic on the subreddit just
this past week, when is Harley Cameron gonna finally get
her belt? This is before the match with the Sisters
of Sin at the Babes of Wrath, But is Harley
Cameron gonna finally get her belt? People were saying that
she's going to finally get her belt probably, you know,
(28:27):
in January. I think it's January when AW goes back
to Australia for the two shows. Marina Shaffir is a
replacement of Penelope Ford and she's just not got the
try not to say anything negative, but she just doesn't
have the longevity as a wrestler. She doesn't have as
(28:49):
nearly as many matches as any of the other wrestlers
in this tournament, not just in the semi finals, but
I'm talking about the entire tournament. She just doesn't. She's
just not that person. Megan Bain on the ear in
hand does deserve her flowers because she wrestled like every
other day in November on two different continents. It's like
(29:13):
her schedule has been amazing. So it's and then and
of course Mina share Cow, I mean Mia share Cow
is she's the pit eater. I mean, she's eating so
many pins. She did get a little bit of a
rub with the UH with the UH Interim Women's rh
Women's Tag team titles, but that was taken away from
(29:36):
her by who was a Mercedes Bonette, and then she
and she lost to Athena. Well, she's lost to everybody.
She just eats pins. I mean, I'm really confused, but
I'll stand by what I said earlier. I was really
hoping that sky Blue was going to get get a
belt out of this. I was really hoping. So maybe
(30:00):
she still will a couple of weeks from now, but
not right now. Anybody else with thoughts on this match
and the tournament finals. All right, then, well let's move on.
I'm interested to know because we don't really talk about
Rig of Honor enough on this podcast. Final Battles coming
up on Friday evening. Who's going to be who have
(30:24):
you here tonight? Are going to be watching Final Battle?
Speaker 4 (30:29):
I probably am not.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
Is one of those. I was actually watching the r
Show before popping on here. You know, I really like
the Final Battle card. There's a lot of people I
like in r OA. I just right now can't afford
the Honor Club and can't afford more than one pay
per view a month, and well, the world's end is taking.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
Press plus like what's said, and I mentioned this before
we started recording. Final Battle is in my neck of
the woods. I would like to go, but Tony has
a really weird habit of bringing shows to Columbus around
the time they're having having conventions and having shows at
(31:17):
the conventions, which makes getting tickets for the show a
whole ordeal. And it just makes me not want to
go see Ring of Honor when it's here because it's
such a pain in the ass to get tickets because
there's a whole convention suck.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
Okay, So the question was, is anybody watching Ring of Honors?
I am as I'm watching Final Battle? Is anybody else
watching Final Battle?
Speaker 7 (31:41):
Ten points? To pivot away from that, calson that was no.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
I was like, okay, so nobody's just everybody's gonna, you know,
say they're not, but nobody's gonna say they are when
that wasn't the question. So there is absolutely nobody but
me watching Final Battle. Well, there is the problem.
Speaker 3 (32:00):
Like I said, I.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
Think there lies the problem. I think they're in lie
I'll try it for the third time. I think there
in lies the problem with Ring of Honor as a whole,
that it's just not presented well. And I think a
lot of it has to do with uh.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
W b D.
Speaker 2 (32:22):
I mean, it really needs to be a WBD property.
They really need to get a TV deal with WWBD
simply because they can't advertise it. They don't. They never
do advertise it. If you think about it, what is
unless it's just in passing in like a five second spot.
(32:42):
You know, they don't mention it on Dynamite, they don't
mention it on you know, on collision. And I will
say this, I I don't think I've missed a Ring
of Honor pay per view since Tony Khan has taken
it over, and they are extremely entertaining and every bit
(33:06):
as good as you would expect a aw R o
H pay per view to be. And this car this card. Yeah,
there's some there's always some matches that are very weird,
but this card has some really really big matches. You've
got the survival of the Fittest matches, which Ring of
(33:28):
Honor does quite a bit for the aid for the
ad for the Ring of Honor World Championship. Mercedes Monette
is defending the Ring of Honor World Women's TV Championship
against Red Velvet, which I mean Red Velvet could seriously
(33:49):
walk away with the belt from that one. That may
have been the plan all along. I think Red Velvet
deserves it. You've got Ricochet doing his first time defense
of the aw National Championship. We don't know who he's
defending it against yet, but.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
Is defending and stuff. Yeah it's Dalton Castle.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
Oh it is Dalton Castle. Yeah, Well let's break some hearts.
I'm telling you we're gonna have the uh, the Women's
Pure Championship finals. Nigel Beginnis is going to be facing
Lee Moriarty, Sammy gavara Is and The Beast Mortos are
(34:35):
both wrestling twice. And this is like the third pay
per view out of four because if you remember with
Sami Guevara at Death Before Dishonor, he wrestled two matches.
At aw All In he wrestled two matches, and now
(34:55):
a Final Battle, he's wrestling two matches. It's not that unusual.
I looked it up and there's several a w Ring
of Honor wrestlers that have wrestled two matches in one night.
Some of them have been, of course, like on r
o H tapings on the same night that they appear.
I thought him. I believe the last one to do
(35:15):
it was High and in by a World. They wrestled
on Ring of Honor on the same night that they
stepped in for uh what's her name? Nixon Newell and
Miranda Leise or alas A. I'm sorry. You also have
a theend of defending the r OH Women's World Championship
(35:37):
against Persephone and that should be a really good match.
So yeah, this is a this is a car that
is really worth watching. There's some other matches on here too.
Shane Taylor Promotions against sky Flight for the Trio's Championship
or the six Man as they call it in Ring
of Honor. So yeah, I mean, if you do get
(35:58):
a chance, please do watch the Ring of Honor. I
guess you would call it a pay per view final Battle,
and you can also if you do watch the Final
Battle pay per view, you can join our live chat
on the Everything Pro Wrestling Hub Discord. We diuys. All
(36:22):
of you are on our discord correct, absolutely.
Speaker 7 (36:25):
Yes, yeah, it's my primary use of the community to
me too.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
Well yeah, well, you know, Discord was kind of one
of those things where you either love it or you
hate it, and I guess it's the same thing can
be said for things like X. There's people say you
couldn't pay me to get on X, and there's people
that won't go on Reddit. There's some people that like
me that won't go on Facebook because people have had
(36:55):
different experiences with different things. Look, you go to where
you have fun. If you've never tried our subret not
our subreddit, our discord, do Everything Pro Wrestling Hub, Discord
at Discorder, dot gg forward slash ep W hub. That's Discord,
dot gg ep W hub, there's a forward slash between
(37:16):
the GG and the EPW hub. But anyway, I could
never be an announcer. Yeah, I mean, our discord is
very active and it is everything pro wrestling. We're pro
wrestling fans, We're not just ae W fans. We've got
(37:36):
channels for w W, E, n XT, Rig of Honor, TNA.
Congratulations by the way to TNA for getting their TV
deal finally done. H They're gonna be on what is
it a MC starting January fifth for Thursday night Impact,
which is great. Up from eight to ten to nine
(37:57):
to eleven. Yes, that did yea the times to change? Uh, guys,
what what part of the discord? Let's let's what makes
it good for you guys, because unlike the rest of
you guys, Discord is not my primary So my primary
(38:18):
thing is Reddit mostly, but you guys are mostly on Discord.
Why is that what makes it special?
Speaker 3 (38:26):
I just like it was.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
Actually my intro to the community. I found it completely
by chance. I was looking for a wrestling discord to join,
happen to find this one, and now I'm on this
podcast every week. Oh it's fun. You meet great people.
There's also plenty to talk about. If you don't feel
like talking about wrestling, there's some God forbid, there's a
(38:51):
few channels for other things you could talk about, Like
there's a video game channel, TV movies channel. Well, you
can show off your artwork if you artistically inclined.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
Cool stuff.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
Yeah, and Barry actually has asked us, and I'm gonna
go ahead and make it, and we're gonna make a
Golden Lovers, Uh Discord channel. Dreams are coming true finally,
thank you.
Speaker 7 (39:16):
I have an I'm wearing my Coda Abushi the Golden
Star T shirt.
Speaker 3 (39:31):
I want to see.
Speaker 2 (39:32):
I haven't any shirt.
Speaker 3 (39:34):
I want to see an eight person tag with the
Golden Love bombs.
Speaker 2 (39:39):
There you go.
Speaker 7 (39:40):
Fantastic, fantastic.
Speaker 2 (39:44):
You know, we were just I was just talking about
Final Battle ring a water file battle. Somebody is breathing
really hard. That's such a turn on. I guess the
Golden Lovers got you.
Speaker 7 (39:55):
Oh yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
Was like, oh my god. I was like, whoa, we
have lipped off. Anyway, Anyway, as I was just talking
about Final Battle and also n XT on Saturday has
their Deadline pay per view. Again, this discord is for
(40:20):
everything pro wrestling. It's not an aw fanhob thing. It's
not an aaw thing, and so we have channels already
set up with poles for final battle. We have polls
for deadline. The polls will close one hour before to
show this weekend. Of course, final battles on Friday. Deadline
(40:44):
is on Saturday after the polls close, and those channels
then become a live chat. We've already I've already got
a Russell Kingdom channel already built. It's muted right now
so you can't see it. But that is the reason
why it's muted is because you can't build. The Discord
(41:05):
has a two week limitation to their polls, so I can't.
I'm gonna build the polls two weeks before. Russell Kingdom
twenty also be doing polls and channels for Stardom's what
is it the Grand Queendom coming up in January and
(41:28):
tjpw's in early January. I can't remember. I always get
I can't remember. I think it's a Grand Princess show.
I always get that mixed up. But anyway, we have
polls that become live chats. We'll be doing the same
thing for any TNA pay per view, any big pay
(41:49):
per view we will be or any big show. We
will be doing that, so it's a lot of fun.
It's really cool also seeing the results of the polls
we did the polls or the last aw pay per
view aw full gear and boy did we get them wrong.
(42:10):
I'm telling you, Wow, Wow, we got we got annihilated.
We did. I think there was nine matches. I think
we went three.
Speaker 3 (42:21):
Yeah, I remember that next year.
Speaker 2 (42:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (42:27):
And if you know, I kind of have a theory
of the people who who like discord a little bit.
It might just be me, but I've talked to a
couple of buddies of mine who like it too. I'm
an older gent late forties. But if you at work
have ever used like Slack or Microsoft Teams, it just
feels like using one of those apps. The interface is
(42:49):
very similar, chat style is very similar. And so for
a lot of folks who don't like care for message boards.
I've never been a big message board person. And I've
been on the internet since like nineteen ninety four, like
the you know, the og game Facts all of you
guys see that site. Now, I was there when it
was like original. I just just hated message boards, right,
(43:09):
I've just never been a message board guy. Right, So
Discord just clicks for me. I love the chat And
one thing I just want to to point you know,
Kelson was plugging the live chats for the rooms. For
most of us, we have to watch by ourselves. If
we're lucky, we have a spouse you know that watches.
Maybe you've got a friend that comes over, but like,
I never have anybody to watch with. The chats are
(43:30):
like hanging out with your friends on the couch. Like,
we have a really really nice group of people, and
it's a lot of fun, a lot of running gags
between the chats, people saying hey, I've been seeing next
pay per view, Like it's a really really fun You
feel like you're hanging out on a couch. So you know,
if you try the message board thing and it's not
really you, but Discord is not even really you, you
(43:51):
know either, But you do like chat rooms, Like it's
a really really good audience. We're a lot of fun
to hang out with and sometimes it's just fun to
read the things people come up with because we got
some funny folks too.
Speaker 2 (44:04):
Yeah, I agree. And the other thing about the Discord
server is that if you're looking for news on AWTNA
start them t j p W, W, W E, n
x T, the indies. My god. We have people that
just their news hounds. They you know, Matt Lopez, you
(44:25):
know who you are. He if something happens in the
world of professional wrestling, Matt is going to do it.
The other thing that that we have on this we
we recently merged with Everything Pro Wrestling's discord server. It's
a smaller server, but they're really good people over there
(44:46):
and everything Pro Wrestling EPW show is a They do podcasts,
follow them on Twitter, come onto our discord, meet them,
they promote out their podcast. They do podcasts for AW,
they do podcasts for WWE, they do I believe the
(45:06):
WWE one they do on Mondays and the AW one
they do on Wednesdays, and they do a bunch of
other stuff in between. They're very active, a wealth of
information and laughter, and that's the important thing to me
is the laughter. You don't you know on the discord,
(45:28):
we don't take it too seriously. Wrestling is supposed to
be fun. It's supposed to be fun, and you know,
there's no tribalism. There are people to post on the
AW channels, that post on the Stardum channels, and post
on the WWE and NXD channels. There's very few people
(45:51):
that don't post on all the other channels, which is
really cool. And I think you know, I'm a moderator
there as are a couple of other people on this panel,
I believe, but we never have to really delete anybody
or remove post for tribalism or stuff like that. At best,
we get, you know, the occasional spammer and of course
(46:13):
the Yoshi Tatsu guy.
Speaker 3 (46:20):
Forget about lord y.
Speaker 2 (46:24):
Oh Lord, you're right.
Speaker 3 (46:27):
I apologize. I forgot for a second.
Speaker 7 (46:30):
I had forgotten about that dude until you you said
his post like.
Speaker 2 (46:37):
That guy World Famous Fan version nine, ten, eleven, twelve thirteen.
I can't remember which one he was because he's got
so many of them because he's been bad everywhere. He's
an idiot, but he's kind of a lovable idiot, even
though he said you know, f you to me many
(47:00):
times and has published it many times because I banned
him for being just we is weird when.
Speaker 3 (47:09):
He's in he's a lovable idiot real life, he's just
a freaking jackass.
Speaker 2 (47:17):
There you go. Well, I can tell you right now,
if you're a Reddit fan, don't look for world famous
man on any of your favorite subreddits because he's been banned.
Spar band, professional wrestling band, aw band of Band, Greatest
Radius Wrestling Band, Women's for a wrestling band. He's just.
Speaker 3 (47:37):
Would you say that he's good.
Speaker 2 (47:40):
That he's good, No, that he's I don't understand what
you're saying. Hell yeah. So anyway, like I said, I
wanted to take some time because we've never really done
it before, to plug the discord. It is a big
part of our community. It is a lot of fun.
(48:01):
I personally, I think it's the least serious in a way,
but it has the most news by far, and it's
just got it's very active. It really is an active discord.
I mean there's unless it's two o'clock in the morning,
it's just being and Chris posting at that point.
Speaker 7 (48:23):
But no, we got the Brits on, the Brits and
the Irish lads.
Speaker 2 (48:27):
Yeah, that's right, we do have the Yeah, we are worldwide.
Speaker 7 (48:33):
Some weird right now.
Speaker 2 (48:38):
Yeah, Well, anyway, like I said, it's a great server
and there is no no tribalism. Surprisingly no tribalism because
we do have channels for everything and they're all active
there's no channel that's like dead. So if tribalism isn't
(48:59):
your thing, that you probably don't want to listen to
this next segment that we're gonna do because we're gonna
compare Blooded Guts and Survivor Series war games.
Speaker 9 (49:10):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (49:10):
I guess the question to ask here is how many
of you guys watch both Blooded Guts and Survivor Series
war games. I did.
Speaker 6 (49:20):
I watched budd and Guts, but I didn't see I've
saw snippets of the Survivor series on YouTube.
Speaker 2 (49:26):
Okay, yeah, yeah, that's what I did too. You know, so,
I mean, what is your overall opinion when you like
comparing the two comparison?
Speaker 3 (49:43):
Don't think to compare the two?
Speaker 1 (49:45):
Yeah you can't.
Speaker 7 (49:46):
Yeah, I don't think they're the same match.
Speaker 3 (49:49):
Are completely different?
Speaker 2 (49:52):
No no, no, no, no, wait a minute there, wait a minute. There,
They are not completely different matches. They have the same
exact format, the same format developed by the same person,
Dusty Rhodes. They are the same match. They're just approached
in a different ways.
Speaker 4 (50:13):
The only difference between Blood and Guts and war games
was war games that had the little shark cages, and
they didn't even have those this year.
Speaker 6 (50:21):
Well that yeah, you know, Survivor series has been around
for a long time.
Speaker 5 (50:28):
But honestly, when you do a match that has the.
Speaker 6 (50:31):
Women's match and the men's match had the same elements,
exactly the same element, it's just like, what are you doing?
Speaker 3 (50:43):
They had?
Speaker 2 (50:46):
Who was it? The men's side they had, so don't try,
don't You're not gonna get it.
Speaker 5 (50:53):
Run Cody. Cody got held out of the men's match.
Speaker 2 (50:57):
In the as me, that's that's that's our buddy.
Speaker 7 (51:04):
What's the team from the Bloodline the Woozy Brothers.
Speaker 6 (51:13):
When you had Tody get held out and had to
climb over the top and over the over the cage
to get in the match, and you did the same
thing with Becky.
Speaker 5 (51:20):
And aj Lee.
Speaker 2 (51:22):
Come on, man, it's the same exact thing. I don't
I don't know a problem. I don't really have a
problem with that per se, because there's always so many
things you can do in a cage, you know, or well, I.
Speaker 6 (51:37):
Don't know about that because I don't know because most
of the time, aw does they do every different time
they do one of these, it's completely different than the
time before. They're not repeating things over and over again.
You know, Yeah, there's gonna be spots that are gonna
be the same.
Speaker 5 (51:51):
But when you do that to it, just it just
looks so stupid because.
Speaker 3 (51:57):
When you do it twice in the same.
Speaker 2 (52:03):
Yeah, it's like the fruit roll up all over again.
Speaker 4 (52:07):
Oh, speaking of stupid, a stupid repetition. You would nobody
at Blood and Guts seem to get the urge to
do their entrance over again in the middle of the match.
Speaker 7 (52:19):
Yeah, well look, well look, hey, I don't I don't
want I don't want to rag on WWE I'm coming
with with Chris. They are different products, and you know
that's what it is from a storyline perspective. Real world
talk here. Has Survivor Series done the war games the
(52:39):
last few years or was that just this year? Because
I haven't watched the FED on a regular basis and.
Speaker 3 (52:44):
It's been the I think it's been the last couple
of years.
Speaker 7 (52:50):
And then they they've done they've done a war game.
Speaker 3 (52:53):
Yeah, I think for the last three or four and
then or maybe it's been like two years there in
a few years.
Speaker 7 (53:02):
So it's relatively common. Even if it's not a pure
war games, there are you know, Survivors Series matches are
pretty similar. Do you think this was some some low
key counter booking.
Speaker 2 (53:15):
I absolutely believe that, because, look, that's a really good question, Barry,
because look that's why I wanted there. The Blooded Guts
for aw usually takes place earlier in the year, right,
and it took place two weeks more? Was it two
weeks before Survivor series? And Brian Albarez? I think it
(53:36):
was Brian Albert Albarez. What did a little one of
his things that he was like after blood and guts,
he was like that he was just gushing over blood gouts.
Everybody was gushing over bloody gout gouts, including the wrestlers
that were in it. Wah wah, Golden lovers. Anyway, but
what I'm saying, that's the Golden Lovers. And this was
(54:01):
like if I, you know, if I was like doing
on the golf course and seat of going shoot her,
I go Golden Lovers and throw everybody. But I don't
want to tell you the hand movement. I'd be baking
when I did that. But anyway, but anyway, Brian Alvarez said,
(54:23):
you know, not only were they very I mean Dolph
Ziggler was even like over the moon about blood and guns,
and both Dlph Ziggler and Brian Alvarez said the same thing.
There is no way you're going to see anything like
that at wargames, and you did it. The best thing
you can do when you is just look a still
(54:44):
picture of the the winners being having their hands raised
in the ring. That's all you have to do. And
to tell the picture speaks a thousand words and a
w It looks literally like in the background, especially in
the women's match, literally looked like a war. It just happened.
There was well the Willow Nightgale was still laid out
(55:06):
in the background, there was debris everywhere, and there was
you know everyone. Both rings were just bloody as hell.
And in the and in the WWE picture, the ring
was kind of pristine. It looked like a child that
maybe thrown some of their toys around.
Speaker 7 (55:27):
So I listen. I I think it is important to
remind I think it's important to remind ourselves these are
two different products. And AW caters to a more adult crowd.
They're not scared to push those edges a little bit.
Speaker 2 (55:44):
WWE is not.
Speaker 7 (55:45):
I don't think it's fair to expect that level of
blood and carnage I just don't. I don't think. I
don't think it is. Though on the flip side, I disagree.
Speaker 2 (55:56):
I disagree with you by I.
Speaker 7 (55:58):
Just I don't think it's I don't think it's fair
to expect the same they're they're not advertising the same
rating going in and like one show is literally advertised
blood and Gods.
Speaker 2 (56:07):
We know it's going to be extreme, you know. Yeah,
look what you said. I get what you're trying to say,
but I think you just worded it wrong when you
said that WWE is more Uh did you say WWE
is more catered to an adult or no? Aw AW.
I don't agree with you on that. Just theres there
(56:27):
have been statistics that were done last year. WWE fans
are on average ten years older than AW fans. AW
fans are already younger fans, a WW fans are the
older fans. However, I think if you would have said
that WWE has catered more toward families, maybe I can
(56:48):
agree with that. Other than you know, the price to
take the prices pricing families out unless they mortgage their
house to go to the show.
Speaker 7 (56:56):
It's irrelevant the demos are attracting. I'm just the presentation
of AW is more adult and willing to push an
adult stream. I'm not saying they're winning the ratings of
the demographics in that all right, And I think you're
the families for WWE is one of the reasons they
don't have that group. Their presentation is not concerned with
(57:17):
the PG rating, and I think that's important to differentiate
the product.
Speaker 3 (57:22):
Yeah, aw's product is catered more towards your eighteen to
thirty five to where wwee taters two, you know, the
eight to seventeen and then you know thirty six to
forty four fifty four kind of gap. They cater more
(57:45):
towards parents and kids and younger teenagers, where AW taters
more to older teenagers and legal adult brings.
Speaker 2 (58:00):
That brings up something that Barry said earlier. When Barry
we were talking about the discord, you were saying that
you watch by yourself. You know, you know, I think
that what Chris is saying is that AW fans tend
to watch by themselves.
Speaker 11 (58:17):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (58:18):
I think more families and groups watched WW together.
Speaker 3 (58:23):
Yeah, I would agree with that, just because of good
product it self tends to t too. More singles and
you know couple, you know some couples who either don't
have kids yet or their kids are already you know,
are older.
Speaker 7 (58:45):
Here's here's a fun set. AW had better women's ratings
to WWE for a significant period of time with their
original run. Yeah, and it wasn't even close. Like they
they had a much stronger female rating. I don't know
why they lost it. I don't know if it's when
they started to get more bloody and stuff, but for
a very long time, a significant period.
Speaker 3 (59:05):
If I didn't like violence, there wouldn't be the true
crime podcast. There are very.
Speaker 2 (59:11):
True either way. There was something.
Speaker 7 (59:13):
There was something that attracted a high female demographic in
the original presentation of the show that they've since lost.
I don't know what it is, but I think that's
an interesting statistic.
Speaker 8 (59:24):
On a w They lost the women women.
Speaker 7 (59:28):
They used to have a much higher female demographic than
they currently do, and it was, if I remember correctly,
typically stronger than the demographic that WWE would pull ratings
wise proportion or something like that, and they lost that
advantage entirely.
Speaker 2 (59:45):
Women like fifty plus old men right sudden, that's yes,
that's not it I have to do with any of this.
Speaker 7 (59:56):
Look, I think different ratings demograph to fifty year old men.
Speaker 2 (01:00:01):
We weren't even talking about the thing that the thing
separate we're talking about go ahead.
Speaker 6 (01:00:06):
I think the separacs for me is Survivor series pay
per view, Blood and Guts, national television.
Speaker 7 (01:00:14):
Yeah, and I think if you have said it felt
like a pay per view too.
Speaker 6 (01:00:19):
Like the fact that a W doesn't have that burden
of PG thirteen that a that W has makes a
big difference. You know, we don't watch We've been watching
interesting forever Kelson. And when we watched it before, it
wasn't PG thirteen. You didn't have to have the PG
thirteen rating on stuff, and you could you could pretty much.
Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
You know, they had good matches back in the day.
W But TV was lot lot tamer then. Yeah, that
it is now even you know, the TV that I
watched was a lot tamered and w W e at
it's at its tames and a W at its tamis.
But if you went to a live show, holy crap.
(01:01:03):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (01:01:05):
Right.
Speaker 6 (01:01:05):
But it's it seems to me that you know, when
you when you you expid for me, when I see,
like you said, war games look like our believing guts
looked like the War and Survivors series look like just
a regular cage match, And because the one was on national,
you would have thought it would have been the other
way around because of the difference in where they're broadcast,
(01:01:27):
but it wasn't. And I think, I honestly think WW
is playing everything.
Speaker 2 (01:01:32):
To they're they're not. But but but here's the thing, though,
Sudden they are playing it safe. But why should they
not play it safe? It's it's working. Yep.
Speaker 7 (01:01:47):
Yeah, it's a different product that they don't it's a
different product.
Speaker 2 (01:01:50):
And if you then people say, well, why doesn't a
W do the same thing that w W E is
is doing? And in that case, why even have a
If you're just gonna do or emulate everything WWE is doing,
WAW has to be different. I'm not saying it's good
or bad. Alls I'm saying, is Blood of Guts had
the War War Games, had the games? That was it.
(01:02:13):
That's the point.
Speaker 7 (01:02:14):
And AW does not need to be bigger than WWE either,
Like there doesn't need to be a victory and a
loser here, just be your companies. It's fine if AW
never gets past five thousand a week and ten thousand
for pay per views and WWE stays at like ten
thousand arenas for TV and fifteen or fifty thousand for
(01:02:35):
arenas or whatever for pay p reviews. Like, that's okay.
The point is we want healthy promotions. That's why it's
great TNA got a TV deal. You want more healthy
places for performers to work because somebody who fails on
one promotion can completely reinvent themselves in another, and it's
better for all of us. So, like, stop complaining. Just
(01:02:56):
just enjoy whatever product everybody's putting out, and if it's
not for you, just you know, watch somebody else, watch.
Speaker 3 (01:03:04):
What you like, and let everyone else do this. Look,
Doctor Pepper ain't never gonna beat Coked, but it's still
damn good. They know they ain't gonna. You know, I
think I know why they putting out their products, you know, like.
Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
What was that.
Speaker 8 (01:03:26):
I think I know why they lost the women demographic.
I was thinking about it, and I love a w
don't get me wrong, but for me, it has always
been the storytelling, not just the wrestling. And somebody mentioned
how women love true crime podcasts and true crime shows.
(01:03:49):
I'm one of those people that loves those because of
the story, the background and when a w first started,
and it got me hooked with a lot of their storylines.
And they've changed that a lot and gone more into
just a lot of the wrestling. And don't get me wrong,
(01:04:12):
the wrestling's good, but I like that background and I
think that's what they changed a lot of They moved
away from that, and I think perhaps.
Speaker 7 (01:04:27):
What'd you say, in the last year, they've gotten back
closer to how they used to do it earlier on
or they stayed the same.
Speaker 8 (01:04:35):
Okay, No, they're they're getting they're getting there. Yeah, they're
getting back to how they were. But but for me,
they changed that storytelling element and and it made something
different for me. I'm not as crazy about it as
I used to be.
Speaker 7 (01:04:53):
That's a good point. Thanks for sharing that. That's good.
Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
Yeah, well, since we have two women on the panel. Uh,
I'm not counting you something. I'm sorry, Jess. Just isn't
that okay, Barry?
Speaker 11 (01:05:10):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:05:13):
Yeah, but I don't know. I don't want to go
there because I could. I could write a book. I
could write a book, you know, Barry. You didn't say
when the demographic changed, but I didn't want to bring
it out two years ago or Okay, that that's fair enough.
(01:05:35):
Net and Jess as women. Do you think that a
W started losing the women's demographic because Eddie Kingston was
injured and they didn't didn't have no reason to tune
in And Frank, I don't want to get into it.
I don't want to get into you know, like thirst
(01:05:55):
and stuff like that. But you know, like, but I
mean you guys.
Speaker 8 (01:06:01):
I mean Kenny was hurt. You know, a Boushie was questionable.
You know, there's there's a lot of reasons. I think
a lot of it was Eddie was missing and now
that he's bad, lots of.
Speaker 2 (01:06:16):
Eyes, we're getting the women's demographic.
Speaker 6 (01:06:21):
You're getting it back.
Speaker 2 (01:06:26):
I believe.
Speaker 7 (01:06:27):
Also they stopped featuring Johnny Hungy, and that's from the
demographic because the Hangman's first title run when Punk picked
it up. Not seeing those are connected either. But it's
interesting that they stopped featuring the Dark Order so much
(01:06:49):
and the women's them out just walked so that.
Speaker 2 (01:06:55):
You could also be Lucasaurus. You know, women have a
thing for big dinosaurs. There there was a there was
a there's a there's a member on uh uh a
W fan hub who was I believe it I don't
(01:07:18):
remember where he was. I think it was at A
W's Full Gear. I think he took pictures and he
got pictures with a lot of A W. Russells and
he posted them. He posted them on the a W
fan hub subreddit and people are like, who's that dude.
He was like, that's Lucasaurs because he did have his
mask on and he was punched over and he was
(01:07:42):
hunched over, so he didn't look real tall. I mean,
he was really hunched over. He was like standing behind
the railing and he was just over. So he looked
like this little short he with a eight he's yeah,
he's yeah. So but anyway, and you know what he has,
like this beard is gray, which you know is weird
(01:08:05):
when he because he doesn't have a green beard. Spoiler alert,
I guess, yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:08:12):
Oh, dare you reveal it?
Speaker 2 (01:08:14):
I know, yeah, but like I have to do a
double until I recognize them from some of the pictures
that he took previously without his mask, you know. Uh,
but he does look a little bit different than before.
So but anyway, Uh, let's go on to our pot pourri.
(01:08:37):
Does anybody have any potpoirish things to say?
Speaker 8 (01:08:41):
I have one I touched on earlier where I think
that Tony Storm is actually going to be the person
that gets John Moxley. I think it's her. I think
she's gonna start the let's beat up on John Moxley
movement and almost haunt him in wherever he goes and
(01:09:07):
whatever he does, if he stays with the Death Writers
or not.
Speaker 7 (01:09:13):
And I say that.
Speaker 8 (01:09:14):
Because there have been a few interactions between them, and
the last time she came in the ring and it
seemed almost like she was antagonizing him. She kept calling him,
you know, okay, John, Okay, Johnny, and just making subtle
little digs at him. And I think that if ae
(01:09:38):
w ever dares to pull the trigger on intergender matches,
it would be Tony Storm and John Moxley. So that's
my take on Give it to Me.
Speaker 3 (01:09:50):
Yeah, love it, love everything about it.
Speaker 8 (01:09:54):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know you no, no.
Speaker 5 (01:09:59):
Never that happened.
Speaker 8 (01:10:02):
You never know, never say never.
Speaker 7 (01:10:06):
There are ways to book the match, so it would
work not But I don't know if I would want
to see the match that they would need the book
for them, because I think it would be No, I
don't mean that it would be a bad match. I
think it would be it would be a very difficult
match to watch, and I know they would be willing
(01:10:27):
to do it, and I have problems with that.
Speaker 8 (01:10:30):
Okay, I can see that.
Speaker 7 (01:10:34):
Yeah, I think it'd be pretty dramatic and pushing some boundaries.
Speaker 2 (01:10:38):
I don't know people will be comfortable with.
Speaker 8 (01:10:40):
Yeah, a lot of people have trouble with intergender matches,
but they're if you like them, they're good. So and
it's not always the guys who come out on top.
Speaker 7 (01:10:51):
Didn't would Willa did? Didn't she get a pin on Yuda?
Then they did a mixed tag? Didn't think? So, Yeah,
she's did a mixed tag with somebody against we Were
and another death Rider and I maybe it was even
a sixth person. I can't remember, and I think, yeah,
(01:11:11):
I think she gave him the bait with the power
bomb and got the pin on him. I think.
Speaker 8 (01:11:18):
My sound quality has really I've lost my sound quality.
So I'm going to try to fix that. If you
guys don't hear me for a second, Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:11:31):
In the meantime, does anybody else have any uh? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:11:37):
I scored uh, I scored tickets to the the Orlando
Dynamite January whatever. Good tickets still available gang if you
want to jump in. So anybody in the Central Florida
area that hasn't been to auditioned Financial. It's a It's
a fun little venue, easy to get into, plenty of
parking on the UCF campus. If you've never been to
University of Central Florida's campus, it's self contained, really easy
(01:12:00):
to get an out of. You know, it's a college campus,
but it's it's fun. But the shows are always great.
It's really into an atmosphere. So I'll be right on
the camera the whole time. Same seats I get for
pay per views and stuff. Because I got basketball season tickets.
I might score floor tickets. If I do, I'll post
plenty of picks like I did when I went to
the Lakeman Show. But really looking forward to it. I
(01:12:23):
am considering possibly going out to Los Angeles for the
pay per view after I've loo to see if that
lines up. Yeah, So since they announced the paper you
it's going to be in LA I have some friends
out there that owe me a favor, so I might
I might look into maybe traveling out there for that,
So it could be a fun run for me in January.
Speaker 2 (01:12:42):
Very nice. I don't mind Aws to be in Phoenix
for aw Dynamite and Collision. My daughter is living in
the area and I was talking to her yesterday. It
was her birthday, so happy birthday, my baby girl, the
love of my life. And heard my son in law
(01:13:05):
are absolutely thinking of going to the show. Of course,
it is going to be a four hour show, so
it's going to be contingent on them getting at least
a half day off the day of the show, in
the day after the show, so that they don't, you know,
not zombifide as they're walking through the as they're you know,
(01:13:26):
walking through work, I guess is the best way to
put it, anyway, So I hope she gets to go.
Anybody else with the potpourri, well, I have an interesting one.
At least I thought it was interesting. There's a person
on Instagram who goes under to handle espressoits w R
(01:13:47):
E S p R E S S O I and
according to the name, which I'm not going to say,
it seems to be a somewhat of the female persuasion
who did some extraordinary work. She made a list of
the top fifteen Women's World Wrestlers of twenty twenty five
(01:14:11):
based on one hundred thousand plus match ratings and votes
made on the Cage Match website. Really interesting list. I'm
going to give you just I'm not going to read
the list at the top hall top fifteen, but I
will give some highlights. Number fifteen was me Yamashada. We've
(01:14:35):
seen her on AW numerous times. Number fourteen was Rhea Ripley.
Number thirteen was Surey. Of course we've seen on AAW.
Number twelve Starlight Kid. Tony Khan has said is probably
the one that he would want in AW if she
was available to come. Tony Storm was number ten, which
(01:15:00):
which kind of which kind of surprising? Number nine Tam
Tam knocking out from Stardom. Number seven and I was
thrilled to see this was me you what what to me?
Speaker 5 (01:15:12):
You?
Speaker 2 (01:15:13):
Watsonabi. I don't know why he messed up that name.
It's not that hard to say. Was number seven from
t J p W. If you have not seen me,
you wreussell. She is amazing. Mercedes Monet was number six.
Az M was number five from Stardom. Mayo uh Mayo
(01:15:34):
Mayu Watani from well this year she was at Stardom
and Bear Goold was number four. Number three from w
W E EO skuy number two, which I was really
surprised at. Saya Kamatani thought she was a shoeing from
number one, number one, Suri. I loved this list. And
(01:15:59):
if you notice this list, there are international wrestlers in
abundant in this list. Majority of this list well a
couple from WWE, only a couple from AW and frankly speaking,
that's the way, in my opinion should be that way,
because I guess I'm just a Joshi fan.
Speaker 7 (01:16:23):
I think people really understand the difference in the styles too.
When you watch Joshi wrestling and it's it's to me,
it's like comparing American style to Lucha libre. It is
a different style, it's not as foreign looking.
Speaker 2 (01:16:39):
It's just.
Speaker 7 (01:16:42):
The speed is just incredible and the intensity is just incredible.
And I really think American American folks who haven't watched
really don't know the difference. It's not just like watter
and women wrestle.
Speaker 2 (01:16:53):
Here. The thing that that I that stands out to
me with I want. I don't really get to watch
Tokyo Joshi Pro or Marigald that much, but I am
a huge stardom fan and one of the things that
stands out to me at stardom and Japanese. I mean,
if you watch Japanese wrestling as a whole, generally speaking,
(01:17:16):
Japanese wrestling crowds are very silent. I mean, would you
agree with that the people that watch Japanese wrestling.
Speaker 7 (01:17:23):
Oh yeah, it's not like a party time atmosphere at
an American show at all.
Speaker 3 (01:17:27):
I mean, this is something last night so world Tagarcher mentioned.
They will quiet down and respectfully watch the wrestling. They
will just let the wrestlers do their thing and chant
when it's appropriate. Where American crown the entire exactly. They're
(01:17:53):
going to change somebody here. They're gonna say it like
it's a very different style, but it's not.
Speaker 2 (01:17:59):
Neither one is right or wrong.
Speaker 7 (01:18:01):
No, no, this performance American wrestling is rocky horror picture
show live right, and Japanese wrestling is like going to
a play that you've seen a million times. The people
at the play aren't going to cheer and say that
the lines out loud. It's not expected. In the United States.
It's expected that you say the cats phrases, you cheer
(01:18:22):
and like there's just a it's just a different it's
just a different audience in a different atmosphere out well, I.
Speaker 2 (01:18:27):
Would use a different I would use the Rocky Horror
Picture Show. A lot of people probably have never seen
it because it pre dates them so much. But I
will give you another uh analogy. I like where you
said that going to the Japanese crowds are like they're
going to a play. American crowds are like they're going
to a baby Metal concert. They participate, you know, so
(01:18:52):
there's always something going on in the crowd. The crowd
is a big part of a baby Metal experience. But
one of the things I get, I think the point
that I may this point before, is that because the
Japanese wrestling crowds are so quiet when you're in the ring,
it's different as a wrestler. First and foremost, everybody could
(01:19:15):
hear every word you say in the ring, so you
can't do like callouts. You've really got to get that
stuff done in the back for the most part. The
other thing is and most importantly is that stardom wrestlers
are known for their striking. They throw slaps and forearms
(01:19:40):
and whatnot. If you throw a slap or you throw
a forearm and you don't hear a sound, then you're
going to lose the crowd. Then that's where it stands out,
because when a stardom wrestler throws a forearm and hits
the other, hits her opponent like in the collarbone, you
(01:20:00):
can hear the thud and you can see the welt
starting to come up on the on the you know,
the upper chest of the uh of the wrestler. That
I think that's the big point is that yeah, it's
it's wrestling. But I think that in Japan, and since
(01:20:22):
we're this list was the women's list, but I think overall,
even in Japan, they've got the work a little bit
harder to make it more believable. I really do believe that.
Speaker 3 (01:20:32):
It's definitely a harder hitting style, you know, like and
it's one of those you know, the whole fighting spirit,
like yeah, you better be able to take a freaking hit,
You better be able to lay one in two. You
can't just lay back into it's and I think it's
(01:20:55):
part of that is treated closer to a sport over
there than it is over here, so there's respect for
that too. It's like, okay, you know we're not going
they're not going one hundred percent. But where you know America,
you're gonna go like sixty, They're going eight to five.
Speaker 2 (01:21:17):
Yeah, yeah, I can't argue with that. Well, look, does
anybody else have a pot pourri?
Speaker 3 (01:21:24):
I'm just gonna plug my deals. If you ever need
to know what time a new japan show is on
sex the Discord in the the Piro Russell channels, and
if the time I haven't or if the times I
have listed don't include yours, I will happily find the
time if you need.
Speaker 11 (01:21:44):
Well.
Speaker 2 (01:21:44):
The other thing is is like, especially if you're on
if you're on Reddit and you post like this show
starts at six pm Japanese standard time, there is a
Reddit bot that will put in the comments the time
that the show is on at your time. So if
(01:22:04):
you're on Reddit, you're ever posting, like, for example, a
any kind of show, whether it's in the United States, Mexico, Japan, Australia, whatever,
put the time listed on the show with you know,
JSD or et whatever, you know whatever time zone, and
Reddit will post and let people know whoever is reading
(01:22:28):
it what time zone it is in their time zone.
That's right now.
Speaker 3 (01:22:34):
I have just on my when I put it on
X I have Japan standard, all North American time zones, UK,
Central Europe, three for Australia and one for New Ze.
Speaker 2 (01:22:54):
Yeah. That's one thing that I do like that Reddit
does is that they do a post and it is
customized so that when you read it and say you're
in California, it'll give you the California time. If I
read it and I'm on the East Coast, it'll give
you the Eastern time. So it is very helpful. So
if you're posting on Reddit with the time, just make
(01:23:17):
sure you put the time zone that the that it's
originating at, and and read it. We'll do the work
for you. It's just that simple. So that's really good.
All right, anybody else with the pot pourri? All right? Then,
well that is the show. You know, thanks guys for
coming out. This was a really fun show. Not a
(01:23:39):
whole lot of news this week, but we still made
it fun. Yeah, yes, you know, and we got to
say Golden Lovers so many times this, you know, it's
just fun to watch. That's just fun to say. Anyway.
For the podcast, We're at the Golden Love, We're at
the Golden Lover era. The podcast True.
Speaker 7 (01:24:00):
Thick trying to bring that women's uh getting that women's
demographic back.
Speaker 11 (01:24:08):
On one hairy chest, and it's oh god, oh, what
has happened to us?
Speaker 2 (01:24:21):
All right? Well, well, well we may or may not
be back tomorrow night after Dynamite with a Dynamite review show.
We haven't done one in a couple of weeks now because, uh,
the schedule for Dynamite has been so wacky, and of
course with the holiday last week especially, you know, nobody
wanted to do a show on Thanksgiving Eve. Gosh, it's
(01:24:44):
been a week since Thanksgiving already.
Speaker 3 (01:24:45):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (01:24:47):
Anyway, so maybe we will see you tomorrow night for
all we talk right after Dynamite, so you know, just
check on x and see if we're there or not.
I guess the best way to put it if we'll
see you next week eight forty five Eastern time on
X on Twitch and of course the next day meaning Wednesday,
(01:25:09):
Spotify and Apple podcast and many other podcast what do
you call it podcast hosts? I guess is the best
way to play it. Yeah, So this is Kelson and
for the AEW Fanhope podcast team. Good night to all
you Golden lovers out there.
Speaker 8 (01:25:31):
We love you, Kingston.
Speaker 2 (01:25:35):
Good night, out of Kingston,
