Speaker 1 (00:00):
And nine Ignition Sick five four three two one zero,
All Engine running.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
It's Tuesday. You know what that means. It's time for
Ignition with the AAW Fat Hot podcast team. This is
Kelson and I am here with Net and Jess and
m K and we're going to talk about some hot
topics in a w Look. You know where I want
to start? Last week? Was it on Dynamite? I think

(00:46):
Kyle Fletcher issued a challenge the hang man Adam Page
and all out and I think we touched on this
on last last week's show when we were talking about
a hang man Adam Page. Should should Fletcher actually with
this if the match hasn't been made official yet, but
it will be, you know that, should Fletcher win this match?

(01:08):
Because well, I'll just put the question out there and
see what you guys have to say. Let's put it
that way.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
It's for theavaweight title, correct, not a non title?

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Well, I assume it would be for the Ben's title.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Yes, I would be okay if it was for a
non title where he kind of like an eliminator challenge
and then you go to all out and and or
or something like that, but straight out No, not yet
he's not ready for that yet, but he's he's getting there.
He's getting some attention from people all across some some

(01:46):
pro wrestlers have said some stuff about him. So, uh,
he's getting attention and he's there, but he's not there yet.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
I agree aea Jess.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Yeah, I was gonna say, I agree with MK, like
he's got amazing potential. The ceiling on this kid is incredible,
but not quite yet. For the title, I don't think
one of the lesser titles maybe, but not the world
title yet.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Well, he's already got the TNT title, so we can't
what's he gonna go for the trio's title. I mean, well, look, well,
well that what do you What do you have to say?

Speaker 5 (02:24):
Oh, I don't think so yet. I don't. I don't
think he's ready to take it off. Hang man. I
think at some point in the future, I can definitely
see it, but no, not now. And and we really
need somebody. I know he was feuding with Mark Briscoe,
but I feel like we need somebody really a really

(02:49):
good ongoing story with Kyle And yeah, I don't see
him taking that off, hangman.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Yeah, you know, well type for wrestling in the chat
said I think the challenge was made on collision, and no,
Fletcher should not win. Hangman needs a six month reign
at a minimum. And I agree with also time for
wrestling because he says he's not a fan of somebody
who already holds a singles title challenging for the world title.
I'm also I've been gone on record saying I just

(03:19):
don't like it when one wrestler has more than one
AW title. I just think that's a waste. With how
large the roster is, there's really no need for one
wrestler to have two AW titles. I'm kind of okay
with the Ring of Honor and a title, just not
too from the AW. I'm kind of torn on this,

(03:44):
to be honest with you. Do I really think that
Kyle Fletcher should win? No? I don't. However, Kyle Fletcher
is a viable candidate for a challenger or contender already
AW Men's World Championship belt as is, takeshta other than

(04:08):
those two. I really couldn't think of anybody to challenge
that hasn't already challenged or that, you know what I mean,
is viable. I mean, I mean you could pick out
somebody who say, like Lance Archer, But what is Line
Charger done to win? You know, to earn a world

(04:28):
championship shot, you know, you've got to do something like
with Kyle Fletcher or or even Kenoskate Takeshta. I mean,
even Bandido wouldn't be a bad idea. Yeah, he's the
Ring of Honor World champion, but that would still be
a pretty decent match, although there are two baby faces.

(04:48):
So my thing is is I don't think that Kyle
Fletcher should win, but I also don't want to see
Kyle Fletcher as one of the true viable candidates for
the title because again, I honestly I can't think of
anybody else bought Fletcher at Takeushta right now, because everybody
else is either injured or hasn't earned it or have

(05:12):
already been beaten by Hangman and a Page. What are
you gonna do? Uh mjf again.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
Eventually, I have a field suggestion now.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
But what I'm but I'm what I'm saying here is
that if Kyle Fletcher goes in the challenges Hangman out
of Page, I'm okay with Hangman and in Paige beating
Kyle Fletcher. I just don't want to see Kyle Fletcher
take it out of that contendership. So something's gotta happen there.
And what I think may happen, and we're gonna be

(05:43):
doing our prediction show for All Out next Tuesday. But
what I think is gonna happen is Takesha is going
to turn on Kyle Fletcher, and he may do it
at all Out. Takeshas gonna turn on the Don Coll's family.
We already saw some seeds planted there on Collision, But

(06:08):
go ahead, Jess, what if you have to say?

Speaker 4 (06:11):
My left field suggestion for possible contenders is a why
not Cesarrow? We all know how talented he is.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Who's Czarrow? There's no Cesarrow in a W.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Gosh, dang it. I've been watching too much old w
too many old w w W paper views lately. I
pulled a j R. I'm sorry, yes you did.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Why is Claudio a viable challenger? He's done nothing but
really sit on the sidelines, be a lackey and lose.
I mean, I'm not saying that he couldn't be a
challenger in and by the time the next pay per
view runs comes around, but he's got to do something

(07:05):
between now and then to earn that shot. You know
what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Yeah, I get it.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
You know, Like I said, the only two viable contenders
I can think of her Takeshta and Fletcher, And I
just don't want to see Fletcher lose it all out,
and just why not. I'd like to see an ongoing
feud between hang Man and Fletcher, assuming I don't think
they've ever faced each other before. I'm not sure, but

(07:37):
if they have good chemistry, yeah, i'd want to see
it run back. Anybody else have thoughts on this?

Speaker 3 (07:51):
No? No, I don't know who else would go Honestly,
I I said, everybody hurt and stuff. It's kind of
hard to pick at a don callis family is doing
the best they really can with what they're given, and
Kyle Fletcher is the best opponent for that. He'll lose,
but Ky Flescher will come back eventtionally. But I just

(08:14):
like I said, I just don't know who else, honestly
throughout the line will even come close.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Yeah. You know one thing I will say, MK is
what I really don't want to see is a fifty
year old plus going after the belt again. I want
to I like the idea of Kyle Fletcher, Kenos Kate,
the Kustard are young, hungry, and extremely talented. I want
to see these guys have stories built. I don't want

(08:41):
to see the forty eight fifty year olds and fifty
four year olds going at it. No disrespect to them,
but they've had their time. This is, you know, the
younger guy's time. Now.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
You know you can't just yeah, I get you saying,
you know, you.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Can't do There's always so far you can do with
the nostalgia tour, that's what I call it. Yeah, you
can get some legs out of it, but eventually you
look at it, you're like, hey, you know these guys,
why are we going with these old guys? You know
what's interesting though, is that we're going to go right
into the next topic, and it's very similar to the

(09:21):
topic we just talked about with Kyle Fletcher. You got
Tony Storm at all Out facing Chris Statlander, THEKLA and
Jamie Hayter in a four way match for the Aw's
Women's Championship. Now the question is should Tony Storm lose
the title and if so, who wins it and why?

(09:43):
You know, we could talk a little bit more about
Tony Storm after this. But again, okay, so you've got
Jamie Hayter, THECKLA, and Chris Statlander in this match. So
Tony Storm wins this match, that eliminates three contenders right there,
You see I'm saying, So if none of those three win,

(10:04):
who's next?

Speaker 3 (10:06):
But yeah, that's what I'm thinking. But my problem is
Jamie Hayter's kind of accident as a taba Andrey prone
that's kind of new, and stat Lander's having something going
on with the Death Riders, So I don't know what
to do that. I really think I would put it

(10:27):
on THEKLA and them, and that a way Tony can
have some time off and that Trio of Terror or
Triangle of Terror people can really hold a tot a
belt for a few months and then someone else can
come in and get it. But right now, I would
really really be disappointed if Tony won that match.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Anybody else with an opinion on this.

Speaker 5 (10:57):
I'd like to see Tony perhaps to drop the belt,
but I don't know to who. I don't like any
three of her contenders as as being able to beat her,
So I don't know. She's just so over it's it's

(11:17):
hard to think of who could really do it and
carry on.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
I don't know, just are the thoughts.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
Yeah, Actually, if you'll permit me a small bout of
Jess Brand fantasy booking, I don't see why that having
some possibly being brought into the death writers and winning
the title should be mutually exclusive. Can you imagine like

(11:51):
a champion stat indoctrinated with Max's twisted logic on what
a champion should be and how they should behave That's
kind of a scary thought in a good way.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Yeah, you know, look, I mean I think I think
he could dissect this even further. First of All Time
for Wrestling did make a comment, uh, saying that he
wouldn't be mad if it was stat Lander who won it,
but he said that Decla hasn't been there longer. Well,
Decla's been there for five months. You know, it doesn't

(12:29):
seem that long, but she has, and uh, Jamie Hayter
was gone for a while, which I guess you kind
of mean. I kind of agree with MK and that, well,
Hater's been a little injury prone over the last couple
of years. I guess this is fair to say. So

(12:50):
let's but let's look at it this way. You've got Thecla.
Let's talk about Decla. She's been in aw for five
months and she is currently in a few or looks
this way with Jamie Hayter. If Becla wins the title
at all out, then her she has a built in

(13:12):
challenger in Jamie Hayter right away if she If neither Thatchla,
well put it this way, if Hater wins the title
at all out, she has a built in challenger in Decla. Yeah. So,
and if neither of them win the belt it all out,
they still have a rivalry and a feud going. That's

(13:34):
just beginning. Yeah, because because if you remember when Tecla
did debut five months ago, the first thing she did
was took out Jamie Hayter.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
So Hastekla beat stat Lander. I thought that she had
a match a while back.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
It's hard to I don't know, they've had so many
eight eight women also star tag matches or whatever the
heck you want to call it. It's kind of hard
to keep track of who's been with who.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
Yeah. Yeah, I'm just that beck was the most over person.
I'm gonna I have a small crush on her. I
love her style, her vibe. I think she's got a
lot going for and she's the most intriguing person on
that list who can really stand out on our own.

(14:29):
Even it's just a even, it's a small ran. I
think that that group right there can have some mileage
to it and put on some good matches and then
finally get beat for it. But she'd be a good
transitional champion.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Right Well, let's let me just explore this a little
bit further to talk about Chris Statlander. Now, if Chris
Statlander wins it, Uh, she's got Willow Nightingale right there
starting gurd and face. And who wouldn't want to see
Chris Statlander versus Willow Nightingale for this world Championship? I

(15:05):
know I would. You also have to keep in mind
that Statlander has that little thing going on with the
death Writers. So what happens if maybe the death Writers
get involved and help Statlander win this match? It all out?

(15:26):
Another thing you can consider here is that Statlander may
be the more viable of the contenders in this match.
When you think about it. She's she's been there longest,
not by much. Hater's been there for quite a while too,
But Hater, the only reason Hayter wasn't there as long
as stat Lander. To be honest with you, is that

(15:48):
when the pandemic hit, Statlander was here and Hater got
stuck in Japan and she couldn't count, all right, So
that really shouldn't be used against Hater because she would
have been here earlier, but she couldn't make it because
she was stuck in Japan. The other thing about Statlander

(16:09):
being the most viable is that she is currently the
Pro Wrestling Eve International Champion. So yeah, I mean, she's
got a belt already, She's already a big thing. She
just defended it well last weekend. Last Friday, she won

(16:34):
against Samuels. I'm killing myself here. I can't remember Samuels's
first name and I love her, which so that makes
it even worse. Jeez. But anyway, so and that was
a great match. It's weird because if you remember, Statlander

(16:56):
wrestled on Collision this past week, which was live, and
she had been in England. She had wrestled on Friday
night in England, flew back to the States and wrestled
on Collision Saturday night. And I thought that was a
weird choice putting her in that match, because that's just

(17:16):
ask it a lot flying across the pond, you know
what I mean? Yeah, does anybody not think I'm just interested?
Let's answer the question. That's we're kind of making it.
I'm making an assumption here, but let's go ahead and
forthright answer the question. Should Tony Storm lose the title

(17:41):
at all? Out? What do you guys think?

Speaker 4 (17:46):
Probably I would be okay if she didn't, but I
would I think it's been a good run and she
does deserve some time off.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Emphatically, yes, it would be sorry. It would make the
women's division look bad if she'd beat four people at once,
in my opinion. I know a lot of people disagree
with that, and that's fine, but I just I think
it would make the division look bad because he's reading

(18:18):
through everybody else.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
By the way, thanks, thank you for type of wrestling,
Nina Samuels. I don't know why her escape me, but
thank you, Nett. What do you What do you have
to say?

Speaker 5 (18:36):
I was going to say that I'm okay with Tony
dropping the belt. I hate to see it, but I
know it has to happen. But I just think that
she needs to lose against a really, really good opponent,
someone who is just really up there and the only

(18:57):
person I honestly feel like is Jamie Hayter. Otherwise I don't.
I don't like anybody enough really to see them taking
the belt off of her. That's just how I feel
about it. Or perhaps Willow that those would be people
I'd have in mind for it.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
But yeah, well Willow's not in this match, so.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
I know, but she you know that.

Speaker 5 (19:21):
I'm just saying that that's somebody I would prefer to
see do it. But if if Willow's not going to
do it, then I would. I would say Jamie Hayter.
Those are one of my picks.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
I wanted to bring up one other thing. I believe
it's a Suburbs back to Australia. Uh if she, if she,
meaning Tony Storm, were to lose this title, uh add
all out, she could get it back and it'd be
a big deal if she took it back in Australia. Yeah.

(19:53):
So yeah, she.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
Just said she's had it back and forth so many times.
It's time for some new blood in there. I mean,
she had it for a little bit, lost it, then
gained it back, and I just feel like, I don't know,
I feel like at some point some younger people got
to step up.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Well, okay, that brings up another question. I mean, I
think that we can all agree that when AW maybe
the division in all companies, but specifically when it comes
to you aw's women's division, Tony Storm is the name.
She's the biggest deal. Okay. The question is, does Tony

(20:35):
Storm need to have a title to be relevant? I
don't think so. I really don't. I think without a belt,
the belt doesn't make the wrestler. Tony Storm is the wrestler.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
She is.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
The character just happens to have a belt. I think
it's time for her to put somebody over. I think
it's time for somebody else to get a belt, get
the belt, and I don't think it's going to hurt
her momentum, or her character or anything. She she's gonna be.
She's not gonna be like, nobody's gonna turn her back
on her. That's what I'm saying, you know, that's what

(21:12):
What do you guys think? Does Tony Storm need a
belt in order to be viable?

Speaker 4 (21:22):
I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Okay, guys, go ahead, Jess No.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
I was just gonna say no, I don't think she does.
She's that good. She's she was amazing and entertaining before
she won the title, and she will be after she
loses it, but she has made it a pretty big
part of her identity.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Yeah right, Uh, Nett, what are you get to say?

Speaker 5 (21:56):
I was going to say, I don't think she needs
a title to be as big as she is. I
think she's surpassed having the title. She's just that good.
I can see her not having it and being just
as entertaining and just as wonderful and someone that a
lot of other women will still strive to beat. She

(22:21):
will still get really good matches, cut really good promos.
So I think she's just got it.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
Yeah, Okay, did you have anything to add?

Speaker 3 (22:36):
I'm not I've thought at all.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Okay, Well, Typer Wrestley did say she already won it
back in Australia though what she did, and he did
say if it happened again, it would feel like a
little bit of a rehash, which I absolutely agree with.
Maybe to maybe throw a twisted here, she doesn't win
it in Australia and she loses it by nefarious means,

(22:59):
that would be a story, you know, so, But anyway,
Time for Wrestling says no as well that the character
is so good and honestly losing the title or allowed
to evolve the character a bit more. And I do
agree with that. So the next part about this particular

(23:20):
topic is, let's stay with Tony Storm. If she wins
the title, what's next for her? If she loses the title?
What is next for her? Does she take a break?
Does she just start another feud? Who would she? Who

(23:40):
would you think win or lose? Who would be the
next challenge? I know that net had mentioned Willow already.
I don't know Nattie thought of anybody else?

Speaker 5 (23:55):
No, I am not so I don't know.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
Well that makes sense? What about Umka, let's go down?

Speaker 3 (24:06):
You know if they put it on uh, if they
put it on Fekla. I really do think Queen a
Minada would be fun to rehash as hashers champion, and
I want to see Meghan Banine eventually get a shot
again as as well. But that's a person who, honestly,

(24:27):
if she does win, I think Megan Bane needs another shot.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
Okay, what about you, Jess.

Speaker 4 (24:36):
Well, I think it's natural for a champion to feud
a little bit with the person who took their title,
but she doesn't need to win back after that Jeeves.
I don't know, she could wrestle anyone, and it would
be amazing. She could. She could wrestle a hat Rock
to a five star match.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
I think, you know, Jess, you just said something interesting.
I think it's natural for the champion to have a
feud with somebody who took her title from her. But
remember this is a four way match, so you have
things that can happen. What if sky Blue and Julia

(25:16):
Hart come out and cause her to lose the title.
What if the Death Writers come out and cause her
to lose the title. You know, so there's a lot
of different things that could happen here. You know, it's
it could get convoluted. This is pretty interesting, but it's
weird because we pretty much all agree that, you know,

(25:37):
Tony Storm doesn't need this title to be relevant, and
I think that's a good, good, good take. So let's
talk a little bit more about the build for All
Out again. Next Tuesday, we're going to be doing our
preview or prediction show, which is always fun. But last
week on Ignition we talked about the lack of build

(26:01):
for All Out or to you know, we had a
couple of matches that have been set like two or
three matches, but there really wasn't anything. Now we got
the spare away match for the women's world title announced.
We had Kyle Fletcher challenge Hangman Page Again. It's not
official yet, but it looks like it's gonna happen. Of course,

(26:22):
this is on top of the matches that were already announced.
We had Mark Briscoe and MGF I guess they challenged
each other. So how are you feeling about the build now?
What else needs to happen here? Can you think of

(26:43):
any other matches that you would like to see for
all out? That makes sense because we do have some
belts out there that could be put up.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
Uh, I'll say, I want to see Mercedes Monette again
versus Alex Windsor. I really do think they would be
It was good the first time, but that's another person
that needs to lose that belt sooner than later. I
don't know when that's gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Well, Well, Mercedes Monett's basic Rijo all Alex Windsor's out.
There's no way the Rijos Mercedes that would just make
no sense whatsoever.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Yeah, I don't know. I mean the trios, I don't
know if they have a match, said well, I don't, No,
they don't, And did the tag have anything yet? Or
they're going against FTR or.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
No, I have to have tr And and Copeland and
Christian are going together, you know, Bendido or Brodido don't
haven't yet. Uh, but who who's going to challenge him?
The kid again? You know, it's it's weird because the

(28:13):
weird thing is, you know, it's a good point, like
with the Tag teams. I mean, if it was the Outrunners,
it was somebody else, who knows, it'd be kind of random.
It's going to be made like ten days before. Yeah,
there's no really good feud for Brodido right now. There's

(28:36):
no really good feud for the Trios right now. So
I don't know. I don't know what to say about it,
you know, I just don't know.

Speaker 4 (28:50):
I was going to say the Outrunners did alliance with
a Dalton Castle, which is going to be all kinds
of fun. So I can see a trios match happening
with them maybe one.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Well, well, no, you know, if you're gonna have Dalton
Castle and the Boys because they were in that promo too,
that vignette, Uh with the Outrunners, why not put them
against have a meaningful match, at least put him against
the Ops.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
Mm hmm. Well what's going on with Hook though? I mean,
is you think Cook's going to get a match at
the pay per view?

Speaker 2 (29:30):
I don't. I don't understand anything that's going on with
it just seems. It just seems whatever is happening is
not working for me. Put it that way, it's I mean,
I finally, look, aw is pretty much ignored the trio's division,

(29:53):
and he was part of the trios for a long
time with the Ops. He got injured or whatnot, he
was replaced by power House Hobbs. That's well and fine.
The problem I'm running into is that I don't really
care about the Ops because they really haven't been given
anything to do other than to run in and save
people's asses from time to time. But they've not actually

(30:13):
gone out there and really won matches or been a
force from week to week. Yeah. So if Hook is
going to do something, it doesn't need to be with
Samoa Joe, because Samoa Joe is one of the guys
that I would say is a viable contender for the

(30:35):
aw Men's Championship. Yeah, you know, I wouldn't mind seeing that,
but he's stuck with the trios Tam you know, have
some Joe go up look and say, hey, look, you
can take my spot. This is my belt. I'm going
after a hangman page.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
Yeah, I like to see Hook maybe try to be
a hell for a little bit. I don't think he
I mean, he was a hell with with Team Tap,
but I really by himself. I think it would be
interesting to see him go a little bit different direction
because he's always kind of been a face since then.
You know, he's been paired with Dan Housen and Orange
Cassidy and whatnot, but he's never really been standing alone

(31:12):
by himself a bad guy. Maybe that could work him.
I don't know. I'm not a super fan of Hook
by any means necessary. I think he's kept around because
of Taz, but he needs a different direction for sure.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
Yeah, I agree with you. I'm not a big fan
of Hook as a character. You know that it's just
not working. He's not He's not intimidating at all. I mean,
I'm sure he's a fantastic wrestler and he's a tough
guy and whatever, but it just doesn't translate to the
screen for me. He just seems like a guy who's

(31:50):
just going, I don't want to say going through the motions.
He's just kind of aimless right now. He doesn't have
he needs this niche and he needs to find it
and go with it.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
Yeah, I've really said he needs to go to Japan
or something and learn more and get more in depth
in the wrestling field and get a better move set.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
All right, Well, anybody else have any thoughts on the
built all out? Are are you satisfied with? You know,
the matches that we've got so far.

Speaker 5 (32:31):
I'm pretty happy with them because a certain person's all
time favorite wrestler has been challenged by Big Bill. Yeah,
so I'm excited.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
Yeah, that would be a horrible match.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
To put it all, It's gonna be fantastic, terrible. You'd
be a very good collition match.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
It would.

Speaker 6 (33:02):
It would be a very good dark match, and no
as many people that are waiting for Eddie to come back,
and as excited as people are surrounding that, it'd be huge.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Well, look, this is my thoughts on this, and you
guys all know that I am not a fan of
Eddie Kingston. I don't think he can rest at all,
but but think of it as a Big Bill is
to me, somebody that you can build on. Eddie Kingston

(33:39):
is not. If they were to have a match all out,
and God forbid, Eddie Kingston is booked to beat Big
Bill first of all, that would be one hundred completely
unbelievable and it would just, in my mind, in my mind,

(33:59):
on a would render. Big Bill should just retire because
he can't get any lower. I mean, that's just a
blow to his home, his character, his momentum, everything. It
would just kill him. Frankly, if they were to have
a match at all and Big Bill didn't beat Eddie
Kingston in I don't know, forty five seconds, it's the

(34:23):
same thing to me. To me, because Big Bill should
just destroy Eddie Kingston without even batting an eyelash.

Speaker 5 (34:33):
What is all the hate surrounding Eddie Kingston. I don't
understand it.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
It's not hate toward Eddie Kingston. It's a simple fact
that he is the worst wrestler on the a W roster.
I love his character, I love you know him on
the mic. He's really good. When he steps in the ring,
he's awful, He's terrible. He has no wrestling talent. What's
now if you guys like that, you know. But I'm

(35:05):
just saying it's like, I have the certain type of
wrestling that I enjoy, and I don't enjoy watching horrible
machine gun chops and three wrestling years and a guy
running around with three belt. To me, that was one
of the dumbest things that aw has ever done. And frankly,

(35:26):
having Eddie Kingston come back and getting in a ring
unless for some reason during this break he's learned how
to wrestle. Fine, you know, but nobody can tell me
that they watch Eddie Kingston Kingston to watch him wrestle.
And I'm sorry. I know how much Jess, and I

(35:48):
know how much Nett you love Ready Eddie Kingston, but
if you told me that he could beat Big Bill,
I'm sorry. But now.

Speaker 5 (36:01):
I don't know. I think anything is possible, so.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
Well, anything is impossible. And look, suspension of disbelief is
a big part of professional wrestling, and I get that,
but this is like, you know, I mean, gold out
of my ass. You know, it's like, come on.

Speaker 4 (36:24):
You're forgetting an important thing. The people love Eddie Kingston.
There's something to be said for the business of putting
smiles on faces, That's right.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
Yeah, but that's great. They love Eddie Kingston, but that
doesn't mean you need to put three belts or have
him win any matches.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
I'll have him in a tournament, yeah, you have him
win at first every tournament. That was not a smart choice.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
That that was preposterous. And people love Eddie Kingston, then
why the heck when he had those three belts? Did
the ratings fall off the face of the earth when
he did that?

Speaker 3 (36:59):
Because he.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
It was stupid. I look at look when I look
at professional wrestling, all right, when you think about look
when you think about professional wrestling, when you think about AW,
who's aw's biggest contender even though they don't think that
they're contenders or non competition. It's WWE. You want WWE

(37:27):
fans to watch a w and fall in love with it.
I am sorry, but if at w when AW had
Eddie Kingston win those three belts, I was like, please God,
don't let WW fans watch any of these episodes that
Eddie Kingston is on because and he's beaten all these
big name guys, because they'll never respect AW ever again.

(37:53):
You know, come on, I mean I understand liking Eddie Kingston.
I like Eddie king I just don't like him in
the ring because he can't wrestle. It's as simple as that. Ah, jeez,
you got me going on Eddie Kingston again. Don't bring

(38:16):
up Eddie Kingston. I'm going to ban people for talking
about Eddie Kingston.

Speaker 3 (38:22):
But I'm out.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
It could be worse. I could have insist on you
not calling me Kelson and just calling me, you know,
the Golden Child or something like that. Rebelts beansy, Yeah, whatever,
you know. It's just I don't know. I've said it
before though. I could beat Eddie Kingston in a fight.

(38:47):
I think that, you know, just sweep the leg and whatever.
Speaking of the sweep of the leg and hurting people,
which I would do a Eddie Kingston, he would not

(39:08):
be wrestling ever again, ever in his life if if
he ever came across me. We had a couple of
weeks ago Wardlow returned and immediately hurt himself. Fightful was
reporting that Wardlow has torn a peck and he's going

(39:31):
to be out for quote unquote some time.

Speaker 4 (39:36):
That is such a bummer. The guy can't catch a break.

Speaker 2 (39:40):
He cannot catch a break. I want to know, because
you guys are kind of Iffy to me, which one
of you first? Wardlow seriously, I'd I don't know.

Speaker 3 (39:58):
Yeah, he's he can't catch a break. And what's funny
is though he was on American Gladiators and didn't urt
him so but he slides into the ring and hurts himself.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
So he filled two seasons. He filled two seasons of
American Gladiators. They got two seasons, two full seasons. In
the can he comes back and in sixteen seconds towards Peck.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
Yeah. Maybe maybe I don't want to be a Debbie Downer,
but maybe wrestling's not his jive. I don't know. I mean,
maybe he should. He's a good looking guy. Maybe he
can do some acting. I don't know, but maybe maybe.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
Maybe he could be the next Jack Reacher. Look, you know,
American Gladiators was filmed in England, so maybe it's the
American air that doesn't agree.

Speaker 3 (40:50):
Maybe he should join.

Speaker 2 (40:51):
Repe Maybe he should join repe Bro and enjoy the
healthy English countryside air. I don't know. It's I it's
I'm frustrated for him. Think of all the ship that
he's gone through. You know, his car, he's had his
ship stolen out of his car. That was real wasn't cape,

(41:14):
and of course they made it into his storyline, but
it was real. He you know, somebody in the tenth
If somebody in the tenth row sneezes, you know, he's out.
You know, it's just like, my god, you know, come on,
I mean, I am seriously rooting for Work because I
think he's a cool character and a W has a

(41:35):
lack of big guys like that.

Speaker 3 (41:38):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
I just I'm sick. I'm heartsick that Wardlow is injured again.
H yeah, Well as nobody else has anything to say
about poor poor old Ward Low in the world. So

(42:04):
I know Jess has already said that she has a
pote Maurice. So we're gonna go right into our section,
which is where we talk about anything we want. So, Jess,
what do you want to talk about?

Speaker 4 (42:19):
My current favorite heel in the whole wide world? MJF
just got married. There's some pictures of floating around about
floating around from the wedding. It was a beautiful affair.
Both him and Alicia Taut looked gorgeous. Lots of aw people,
including Tony conn were in attendance. But this just cracked

(42:43):
me the hell up. He was married very recently. I
think it was over the weekend. Yeah, I open, and
this guy has taken his wedding pictures, photoshopped the AE
but you title over Alicia's head and then put the

(43:04):
caption soon.

Speaker 1 (43:08):
Did he do that?

Speaker 2 (43:09):
Because I think it was Nyla Rose that did that.

Speaker 3 (43:13):
Yeah, that would track.

Speaker 4 (43:15):
She's hilarious.

Speaker 2 (43:16):
Yeah, actually act, I don't know if Nyla took the
picture from m JF, but I know that I didn't
see MJF posting the pictures until actually late this morning,
and Nyla Rose posted it last night.

Speaker 4 (43:34):
Yeah, okay, correct, I just saw it on his Uh well.

Speaker 1 (43:39):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (43:39):
You may be right, you might be right.

Speaker 7 (43:41):
So, but you know, look I heard, yeah, I heard
that Tony Kahn actually moved the Ring of Honor taping
so he could go to the wedding, which is kind
of cool.

Speaker 2 (43:54):
He moved the tape, not the taping he removed. He
moved the pay per view, the Ring of Honor paper view. Yeah.
So look, when you you got a bunch of wrestlers
in the back, seeing that kind of loyalty and Tony
conn strikes me. It doesn't matter if it was MJF

(44:17):
or I don't know, and Helico, he probably would have
done the same thing. You know, Yes, Tony cont has
one fault. Maybe his biggest fault is that he's too
nice of a guy. And guess what, I have no
problem with that, you know. I like the fact that
we've got a nice guy that isn't gonna I don't
want to say what Fitz McMahon did, but Tony Knt

(44:40):
is not going to do any of that.

Speaker 3 (44:42):
Yeah, I really all he does.

Speaker 4 (44:47):
Tony's amazing. Every time I see him, I just want
to give him a big old hug.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
Well when I see him, you know, he's a wrestling
When I see him, I want to give him a
pile driver. He probably appreciate that more on a hug
for me. And I mean it, you know, from.

Speaker 3 (45:05):
Love, you know, yeah, of course.

Speaker 2 (45:11):
All right, Well, anybody else have a poste pourrie?

Speaker 3 (45:15):
Well, as long as we're talking about Tony Kahan, Mavn
Huffman of w W Fame went on the Ariel Hawane
Show and really spoke well of Tony Kahan. And I
appreciate that. You know, a lot of people out there
have a lot of negative negativity to say about him,
But for someone who's been there and done that and

(45:36):
knows a lot about it. He's I really am glad
that maybe went on there. But also I guess Stevie
Richards went on his little YouTube channel and proceeded to
say some bad stuff about that, that Kyle Fletcher needs
to learn how to work.

Speaker 2 (45:55):
Oh my God knows that. You know what's weird is
that Stevie rich Sure his his channel. I don't know
if you ever paid attention to his channel, but his
channel was more informative about wrestling than anything. In other words,
he was doing like videos, a lot of his videos

(46:16):
wrestling history and how to do a move and what
could go you know if you don't do this. And
he's made like two videos or something like that very
recently where he's just been engagement farming. I guess I
don't know, but yeah, he lost a lot of Yeah.

Speaker 3 (46:43):
Yeah, he was in the Ravens with the Raven's Nest
or something it's called h and I respect him. He's
done some videos on why this move was dangerous. I
remember when Phoenix accidentally what happened with him and Moxley.
He he kind of spoke up about that and that
the ref should be a little bit at fault and

(47:03):
stuff like that, and I get that, but this has
been a rash of old school guys coming out and
staying stuff against aw which is not cool, but it's expected.
But Stevie Richards just need to stay in his land.
And I really like Fletcher. Fletcher's doing his thing. He
knows how to work, he knows how to sell.

Speaker 6 (47:23):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (47:23):
Like we said before the start of the show, He's
really going to be the future and he will be
champion one day, sooner than later. Probably.

Speaker 2 (47:31):
He's he's already a tante champion. He's already terrific. Anybody
that says that Kyle Fletcher can't work is a moron.
I am sorry, but they are a moron. I mean,
what does Stevie Richards think he is? Who does he
think he is Jim Cornett?

Speaker 3 (47:51):
That's a stretch.

Speaker 4 (47:54):
I'm completely disappointed because, like you mentioned, he was part
of a Raven's Nest in ECW. That story of him
and Raven and Pula McGillicutty and Tommy Dreamer is one
of my favorite in wrestling, Like Raven versus Tommy Dreamers
was actually one of my favorite feuds of all time,
and I respected everybody involved a lot, just like you

(48:17):
hear him saying that, just wow, disappointed? Yeah, I be.

Speaker 2 (48:26):
Does anybody else have a potpourrid that they want to
bring up?

Speaker 4 (48:33):
Can I do one more? If nobody else is going to.

Speaker 2 (48:35):
Go yeah, I have go ahead?

Speaker 4 (48:40):
Well did your show?

Speaker 3 (48:41):
You can go?

Speaker 2 (48:42):
Did not go? Ok?

Speaker 5 (48:44):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (48:45):
Just this came up and I figured, why not have
a round table discussion about it?

Speaker 1 (48:50):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (48:51):
Do you think that heels are better when their characters
with depth and motivation or when they're just evil for
evil's sake? I personally, I very much prefer the former.
Some people just preferred like the don callous style of

(49:11):
evil heel. No reason they're like that. They're just stick
for people for the sake of it.

Speaker 2 (49:20):
You know what, I kind of think a combination of both,
because it depends on the wrestler. I mean, back in
the day, Abdullah the Butcher was a heel and he
did peal things in the ring. I mean, he was
just this big you're not familiar with Abdullah the Butcher.

(49:41):
He was just this big guy that felt no pain
and pretty much squashed everybody. And the problem with that
is is that if you had him talk and had
him a deep character, he would have lost some of
that aura. What his aura was, get in the ring,
kill people, and get back out. That was it. That

(50:01):
was his thing, and he was popular because of it.
So you've got wrestlers like that, I mean, I mean,
you've got I don't know, wrestler's in aw don't speak English.
Does that mean they can't be a good healer or
a good face because they can't. No, you know what

(50:22):
I mean, because they can't demonstrate that because they're hindered
by their language in ambition or you know, their language limitation.

Speaker 4 (50:31):
True, but just because you have a like I'm going
to go for kind of a silly example here, but
a king. When Kine was first introduced, he didn't talk
at all, but he still had a tragic backstory, so
there was still like depth to him. He wasn't just
like going after to beat up the Undertaker for no reason.

Speaker 2 (50:54):
Yeah, well no, I get that. But by and large,
when you have people can't talk, they don't build the
backstory like they did with Kane.

Speaker 5 (51:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (51:03):
It's very very few that they times that they do that.

Speaker 3 (51:07):
So I mean, look at Kamala. I mean, back in
the day, he was just scary and uh, but I
mean people like m JF make it interest in. Chris
Jericho makes his Heill work kind of interesting. I think
it really depends on how good you are at your

(51:29):
character and how and depth you want it to be.

Speaker 2 (51:38):
Yeah, I mean wrestlers. There are wrestlers in a w
that literally have They do some vignettes, but they don't
do live mic work, so their whole area is basically
in ring storytelling and some vignettes. I mean, when was
the last time you heard say Julia Hart or sky

(51:58):
Blue cut a promo? But they're still popular.

Speaker 3 (52:04):
Yeah, but those those vignettes they do really speak for
her though, and that's what I think really helps her.
I don't remember who does those vignettes for her, but
she does a great job.

Speaker 2 (52:17):
Her Twitter handle and her Blue Sky handle is the
editor style. She's really talented. Give her a follow. She's
on Instagram as well. Very talented, very talented, very interesting watching.

(52:38):
I like watching when you're looking artists like that. I
like watching when they show like behind the scenes of
how they do stuff. Remember the picture of Julia Hart
where she was standing there and she had like twelve arms.
Do you remember that pictured that they had there in

(52:58):
one of her pignettes, but they she this editorial style,
showed how that effect was done, and it was really
else and it was nowhere I can't remember now that
I think about it, but it was nowhere near how
I expected it to be done, which was surprising. So
I thought it would be more photoshop I than it

(53:20):
actually was.

Speaker 4 (53:21):
So yeah, don't they do that sort of thing like
she like basically like Julia would like be waving her
arms and they would leave the camera shutter open.

Speaker 2 (53:31):
I can't remember, I really can't. I do know that
there was a process to it, and they did a
I think she did a video, uh, showing how it
was done, and I think it was on her end. Again,
it's the editorial style. Go look it up. I mean
you'll probably see some stuff behind the seats, on scenes,
on shoots, and I find that kind of stuff fascinating.

(53:55):
Maybe you guys won't, but hey, she's awesome work. So yeah,
so my vignette, my vignette. Listen to me, I'll do
it vignette one of these days. My pot pourrix is

(54:17):
regarding a totally different wrestling company that Nina Samuels thank
you again type of wrestling belongs to wrestles in and
that's Pro Wrestling Eve. Now, we all know that Mercedes
Monett has spent a considerable amount of time going around
the world belts. But it's been interesting that when you

(54:43):
look at Pro Wrestling Eve, which is a women's division
based in London, they have been using quite a few
AW wrestlers as of late. As a matter of fact,
Chris is the Pro Wrestling Eve International Champion. Nyla Rose

(55:06):
sing EVE World Champion. In the last month, like the
day before, the day before Forbidden Door, which was about
a month ago. Uh, Julia Hart, Sky Blue, Nyla Rose
and Queen Amanada all participated Pro Wrestling Eve event. So

(55:32):
and Willow Nightingale is already scheduled or Pro Wrestling Eve,
as is Christatlander and and Nyla Rose. They're defending their
you know, their belts. So yeah, I mean Pro Wrestling
Eve is a really cool, really cool promotion. In fact,

(55:55):
I don't know if he's still doing it, but will
Osprey is heavily, heavily involved. It's where Alex Windsor came
to AW from and will Osprey is involvement with that
is he produces the shows. Now with his surgery and

(56:16):
everything coming up. I don't know if he's going to
be doing that, but yeah, I mean you go follow
will Osprey on X You're going to see will Ospray
talking about Pro Wrestling EVE quite a bit. And Pro
Wrestling EVE shows are viewable on their YouTube channel. It

(56:37):
is a subscription. You have to have their high Tier
YouTube channel subscription to be able to watch the shows,
and it's nine to nine a month to be able
to watch the shows, and you get a librariy. So yeah,
their shows are very interesting. I very interesting. I not

(57:02):
gonna lie to you. The first time I watched the
show for Pro Wrestling Game, I was like, what am
I watching?

Speaker 4 (57:08):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (57:09):
In a good way? I'm not saying that in a
bad way. You had wrestling matches, A burlesque performer came
out and basically took off all our clothes, and then
you had more wrestling matches, an intermission, more wrestling matches,
another less performer come out and take off all more
wretchling wrestling matches. Very weird stuff. Kind of when I

(57:34):
say take off our clothes, you know, like down to
like a thong and pasties that it's not due to that,
but I'm like, what did they do it? What does
this have to do? They must have some kind of
partnership with burlesque shows. I don't know, but it's just
it's not bad, but it's really weird. Uh yeah, but

(57:55):
uh but the matches themselves are really good, and I
I have learnedstler. I mean I was familiar with Nina
Samuels because I believe it was last year Nina Samuels
was an aaw and Russell Day tag team match against
I think it was Willow and Chris Statlander. I'm not
sure if I may have that wrong, but you did
do a tag team match last year. Then there's a

(58:18):
rustler named Rio, not to be confused with Rijo, who
is just wow, she is just a beast.

Speaker 1 (58:26):
I like h.

Speaker 2 (58:28):
And then you have you know, uh Sapphire Reid who
is young and hungry, Ashley Vaughn. You know, it's I mean,
there's some really talented women there. And I love the
fact that a w's Women's division are going to London

(58:51):
getting the work and they're again they're networking like Mercedes
monet is and making a W. Moore popular globally. Why
not right? And they're getting they're getting the pops. They
really are. They're well loved and the wrestling fans over
in England are very educated about about the AW stars

(59:14):
that go over there. And that's my poteoary. Does anybody
else have one? All?

Speaker 3 (59:22):
Right?

Speaker 2 (59:22):
Then, well we will be back tomorrow night right after
aw Dynamite to give our thoughts about the show, and
of course next Tuesday night, eight forty five Eastern time
on our Discord channel, we will be doing our all
out preview and prediction show. It's always fun, a lot

(59:46):
of different thoughts, a lot of different a lot of
different I don't know how do you put it? Fantasy
booking to the extreme as often goes on. But we'll
look forward to in time for wrestling. Get yourself a mic,
will you come on? I'm tired of reading reading your texts. Yeah,

(01:00:12):
get a cheap headset. I told you how to get
one like I did. But anyway, forty aw Pat Podcast Team.
This is Kelson, good Eyed Eddie Kingston.

Speaker 4 (01:00:27):
We love you mart Eddie

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say.
