type in and say, I'm waitingon God. Who's waiting on God?
And if you're brave enough, youcan even share what you're waiting on God?
(04:58):
For God has God? I promisedyou something and you're waiting everybody.
No, I'm waiting on my husband. I ain't shamed to say it.
Honey, I'm waiting and I'm waitingpatiently. I'm not in her. Hey,
Gina, how you doing? Thankyou so much for tuning in.
Listen, y'all just do my heartso good when I see people from my
hometown, my community, people thatI went to school with. When y'all
are supporting me, y'all don't knowhow it does my heart so good just
(05:23):
to see y'all to come on andbe with me. So I surely appreciate
you. I don't take your kindnessfor granted. I know you could be
doing anything else right now, andso I really appreciate you taking your time
out to tune in with your girl. All right. I didn't see anybody
say with the waiting on what y'allwaiting on from God? Or if you
don't want to share what you're waitingon, you could just say I'm waiting
who's waiting on God? I knowwe got some people that are waiting on
(05:47):
God. We have to wait evensbattle I see you, how I thank
you for tuning in. I shouldappreciate you. Anybody waiting on God for
something, for a job, promotion, a house call, children, we
(06:14):
wait on God for all different things. And so today we're gonna talk about
waiting on God. We're gonna talkabout why we should wait on God.
We're gonna talk about how we shouldwait on God. And then we're gonna
have a beautiful testimony to close usout about God's timing and how he just
moves in our lives in his ownperfect time. And Amen, We're gonna
go to scripture Psalms twenty seven. So we're gonna go over some chapter twenty
(06:39):
seven and I'm gonna read verse thirteenand verse fourteen for you, all right,
says I am still remember I'm readingfrom the NIV version for those of
you who are following along or ifyou have King James version or whatever.
But I'm reading from the NIV.He says, I am still confident of
this. I will see the goodnessof the Lord in the land of the
(07:00):
Living. Wait for the Lord.Be strong and take heart and wait for
the Lord. And man, let'stake a word of prayer. Dear havenly
Father. Lord, we just thankyou, Lord. We thank you for
this opportunity, Lord, for anotherday that wasn't promise to us. God.
God, we just thank you foryour unfailing love, your unconditional love.
We thank you for your son whodied on a cross that that we
(07:20):
maybe save. God. We justthank you for your provision, God,
for your divine hand and our lives. For what you're doing in our lives.
God, we thank you for givingus this word. God, we
asked you would give us wisdom andunderstanding. As we continue to read your
word and study your word. God, give us the desire to study your
word. God, give us thedesire to want more of you, to
go hiring you. God. God. We just as you continue to move
(07:41):
on our hearts. God, God, continue to take those things out that
are not likely. God to purgeus and cleanse us God, God,
as you lead us to the lifethat you have called us to live.
God, lead us into being thepeople of God that you've called us to
be. God to loving on yourpeople, on your children, God,
loving one another, God, beingthere for one another. God. And
you said iron sh iron God.And so we just thank you for being
able to come together one with oneanother and read this word God, to
(08:05):
be sharpen God. And we justasked you to help us not only be
readers God or hearers of your wordGod, but help us to apply your
word and be doers of your word. Lord. We thank you for what
you're doing and what you're gonna doin the name of Jesus prayer and ask
it all Thank God. Amen,Amen, all right, all right.
And so we're talking about timing waitingon God. Hey, ain't marrying.
(08:28):
I see you have joined in onwith us. Good good evening, good
evening. Thank you so much fortuning in. So we're looking at God's
timing. Timing is important. Isee you, ain't I see you.
Timing is important. Timing is everything. Timing can cause things to go way
off course or to be perfect. You know you hear people say that all
(08:50):
the time you say that, youhear people say, ah, it just
wasn't the right timing. You know, it wasn't the right time. And
so we know that sometimes when wedo things out of time, hey twin,
that it will cause things not towork out the way that they should
or to work out our favor. And then we also hear phrases like,
oh, it was perfect timing rightwhen you get it just right. And
(09:11):
so we know that timing is important. I believe that, you know,
one of the keys to peace inGod is being able to discover and accept
and appreciate God's perfect timing right. And we have and we can find danger
when we start to doubt or resentGod's timing. You know, this can
lead to despair or rebellion or movingahead without God. So it's important that
(09:37):
we don't do that. It's importantthat we wait on God. We know
that sometimes it's delayed, but notdenied. Amen. You know, we
all know the story of Abraham andSarah. Right they waited, God promised
them, made them a promise ofa son, and they waited and waited,
and what happened. Sarah got alittle impatient, didn't she? We
(09:58):
said, she got a little. She was waiting and starts doubting that God
was gonna do it. She saysshe's too old, and so what she
does She start trying to manipulate thesituation, taking into her own hands.
And then what we do sometimes werewaiting on God. We know God has
told us something, He's put somethingin our heart, and we start trying
to take things into our own hands. And when we do that, what
(10:20):
do we do? We messed itall up? Right? Isn't that what
Sarah did? She took things inher own hand? Then she looking crazy,
Hey, hey, God, toget on and get lost when she
could have just waited on God.Right, And our perspective of God sometimes
seems like he's moving real slow. You know, his time is not our
(10:41):
time. He weighs not our ways, not our thoughts, And so sometimes
it seems like God is slow tointervene on our behalves or to move on
our behalves, like it's taking foreverto fulfill the promises that he has in
our life. But if you thinkabout that, with Abraham, it took
twenty five years. Because anybody beenwaiting on God for twenty five years,
(11:03):
there's some people on here that that'snot even twenty five years old. Hey
Rachel, I see you. Howyou doing this? Thank you for tuning
in, and I appreciate you.But Abraham and Sarah waited for twenty five
years. Some of us get tiredof waiting on God, for we'd been
waiting two or three years, andwe and we tied to wait, and
then we started doing things on ourown. And then we end up,
(11:24):
you know, like my uncle wildsay, in a well of a miss.
It would be like Joni end upin a well of a miss because
we take things into our own hands. I remember when I first started rapping,
and I was meeting all these Christianrappers, and I remember some guys,
you know, they had been rappingfor thirteen fourteen, fifteen years,
you know, and they were stilljust really kind of local rappers, and
(11:46):
they were you know, they weren'tgetting paid for any gigs, and they
were just you know, just tryingto rap wherever they could. And I
remember thinking, man, if I'mreading for ten years and I ain't made
it, iang keep on. Ain'trep around here fifteen years and I ain't
made That was my mindset back then. But thank God that, you know,
(12:07):
I have matured since then and I'vegrown in Christ. And so I
realized Number one, my vision ofsuccesses and making it is not the same
as it was then, you know, because back then I was thinking about
who I want to be, makinga whole bunch of money, and you
know, I want to be famousand everybody know me. That's what I
was thinking back then. But thatis not my view of success. You
(12:28):
know. I believe that I'm successfulbecause God allows my ministry to impact the
lives of people, and so that'swhat it's about. You know, we
just reached a couple of people forChrist. Then we're being effective and so
it wasn't about being successful, butbeing effective in the ministry. And so
God has blessed me and he hasallowed me. You guys already all know
(12:50):
that I celebrated ten years in September. I have been rapping for ten years,
and I would say that I'm verysuccessful God, not even with all
of the awards and accolades and travelingall over the country rap, not even
those things, just because of thepeople that have told me how my music
ministry has impacted their lives. Andso that is where the success lives.
(13:11):
But you know, I could. What if I would have gave up on
that because things that happen in mytime? Right, What if I quit
doing the work that God has calledme to do because it wasn't moving as
fast as I felt like it shouldmove, or as quickly as I think,
or I was thinking that it shouldtake off, right, And so
we have to be careful of thatbecause what may it might appear to us
(13:33):
as being slow. But with God, it is perfect time. And when
it happens in God's time, andthat is perfect time and amen. And
so it's easy to become impatient whilewaiting for God to act, but we
must never give up on it all. Right, when God is silent and
you are in a deep anguish, you know you feeling like, oh,
I just need this right now, just remember and think about all of the
(13:56):
people in the Bible that we knowof, all the stories where they had
to wait on God. Right, because the Bible is full of people that
had to wait on God. Chiostytype in there, give me some names
of people that had to wait onGod. I see the messages coming up
here on Facebook, but I'm notseeing them come up on my lives,
(14:16):
so I'm not sure why the delayis there. But if you can type
in some people, some names,or some people that you remember in the
Bible that had to wait. Iknow, you guys know the famous story
of Joseph Right, and he waitedfor thirteen years. And then he didn't
just wait like some of us waiting. Some of us waiting in luxury and
(14:37):
the chilling, you know, andas we wait. But he was enslaved,
he was in captivity, he wasimprisoned, right, And so think
about those conditions. Think about ifyou were waiting that way, or how
to wait the way that job hadto wait while he was suffering, or
the woman with the issue of blood, right, she waited for twelve long
years. And so we know thatwe're among goodies company were waiting on God
(15:01):
because God worked all those things outfor his glory. Right, even King
David had to wait out of fifteenyears. Rachel had to wait to have
a child, that's right. Andand King David had to wait fifteen years
after the prophet Samuel annoyted him tobe king. And even the prophet Samuel
his mom Hannah had to wait yearsbefore she had a child. And she
(15:24):
was definitely going through anguish and cryingout. We all know that story,
and so we know that there's notime like God's time and when, And
just like those other people that didn'tunderstand, they didn't know why, but
they still waited on God. Andwe also see when they took things in
their own hand and they didn't weighon God. We saw how those things
(15:45):
turned out. Joseph and Daniel inthe lines Den, thank you for sharing.
Rachel, thank you so much.I'm so glad the message you're coming
through now I can see them allright. But listen, I want to
encourage you today. That's why Istopped about the encourage you. You are
in good company when you waiting onGod. God loves you, whoever you
are, whoever needs to hear thismessage on today. God loves you,
(16:06):
and He promises to meet every oneof your needs. Whatever you're standing in
the need of God is gonna meetyour need that. But He doesn't promise
to give what you want when youwant it right. Sometimes we want things
that are not in God's will forus. You know it's not good for
us. We think it's good.I know it's been several things that I
(16:26):
want it and I manipulated and gotit, and then I realized, Oh,
Lord, it wasn't for me.But if I had just waited on
the Lord. Right, that's whatwe have to do because in Jeremiy twenty
nine to eleven, it tells uswhat I know, the thoughts I have
for you, declares the Lord todo what prosper us, right, to
(16:48):
give us hope in the future, not to harm us. And so we
know God has a plan for allour lives. And what do we think
about God's plan for us? Doyou think that God has a rinkingding plan
for your life? Do you thinkhe has a oh that'll do plan for
your life? No, that's notthe kind of God we serve. God
has a wonderful plan for your life. Right, But we have to line
(17:12):
up with the word of God.We have to obey him, and we
have to learn to wait on God. We have to wait on God.
Sometimes it's not that he doesn't wantus to have what we're asking for,
right, it's not that he doesn'twant to give us the desires of our
heart. But sometimes it's just theissue is with the timing. Right,
(17:33):
he knows that you're not ready forwhat you're asking for, right, well,
he can tell by the way,we ask for a whole bunch of
money, but how are you stewardinga little bit of money right? Or
we're asking for a husband, buthow are you preparing for the husband or
the wife? What have you doneto be prepared? And so sometimes God
(17:53):
knows that we are not ready fora particular blessing that He does have for
us. But we have to beready and in line. And He knows
exactly where we are in life.He knows where you are. He knows
what you're doing, what your habitsare, and he knows what you're gonna
be doing. Right, So he'snot setting you up for failure. Why,
(18:18):
he wants you to succeed, toprosper, even as your soul prospers.
And so hey me Jay, loveyou too, cousin, thank you
so much for tuning in. Ishould appreciate you. Hey this, Hey
January, Okay, I see y'allcoming in now. Thank y'all so much
for tuning in. But God hewants us to prosper. And so he's
(18:38):
not gonna set us up a failure. He's not gonna give us something that
we are not ready to handle, only for us to end up fumbling it
or mishandling it, losing it.All right, So we have to make
sure and just be patient, makesure that we're working on ourselves, make
sure we line everything up so thatHe can bless us, right, because
(18:59):
I believe that give us something we'renot ready for. You know it would,
it would. He loves us toomuch to do that. All right,
We're gonna turn over to Isaiah sixtyand twenty two real quick. All
right. It says the least ofyou will become a thousand, the smallest.
(19:22):
When I said say smallest, Ithink of myself because I'm so small,
the smallest a mighty nation. Iam the Lord, And in its
time I will do this swiftly, right, in its time. God can
do things suddenly. He's God.He has providence over everything. God is
(19:45):
in control no matter what your situationis, no matter what's going on in
your life. God can change justlike that. Right. He can get
whatever he needs to get to you, whatever resources, whatever man, whatever
a child, whatever it is thatGod has for you, he can change
it just like that. I haveso many friends, so many people connected
to me that I've seen their liveschange in an instant, just like that
(20:08):
in a day because of God's timing. Right, It's gonna happen in God's
timing. But our unwillingness to waiton his timing can get us in trouble,
right. It can bring about confusion, and sometimes it'll bring about the
loss of God's best in our lives. Right, And so we don't want
(20:32):
to do that. We want towait on God. We got to be
willing to wait on God's plan andwait for him to give us his best.
Because He has the best in storefor you. You have to believe
that. You have to believe thatso that we don't miss out on it.
And sometimes you might be waiting ongood. I know a lot of
people, especially adults, you know, we deal with this. You waiting
(20:52):
on God for a job or apromotion, or even if you having trouble
on your own. You're having troubleon your job. You're just miserable there.
You don't want to be there, you just want to leave. But
we have to do things and withwisdom, right, we don't want to
up and leave you now. Youdon't have no clean, no other job
in life. Wait, Sometimes Godhave you in the middle of something,
not to change you to mold you, to shape you, to develop you.
(21:17):
And so you run and get yourselfout of what God had you in
to develop you. You end ifit's some worse, right, we run
away from the thing that God hasus in the middle of that's supposed to
mold us and help us to becomebetter, to have strengthen us, maybe
strengthen our faith, maybe strengthen ourgive us more patience, to develop the
fruit of the spirit in us.Long suffering, patience, kindness, gentleness,
(21:42):
love, peace, joy, thosethings that He wants to strengthen in
us. But we don't like it, right, We don't like when God's
pointing us and changing us. Sowe jump out the We what say,
jump out the firepand into the fire. But we have to just be still
where we say be still and knowthat I'm God right. We have to
(22:04):
be still and wait on God becauseyou know you waiting on that promotion.
But God see see, because God, he's he has total province. He
knows all right, he's omnition right, he knows everything. He sees everything.
So you waiting on a position, and a person that's in your position
that you're waiting on, he hasto move them to the to their next
(22:26):
position. So you have to bepatient because he's getting things lined up.
But you over here, you youimpatient. You feel like, oh,
I should have got this promotion overSo now you done jumped out out.
But if you would just waited, you that person would have been moving and
then you would move right on inline with what God had for you.
But because we are impatient and wemove, then we miss the blessed.
(22:48):
We can miss what God has forus. That's right, ain't Mary,
do i't be getting ahad of me. That's my scripture that's coming up.
They wait upon the Lord shall renewtheir strength. They shall mount up on
wings as eagles. They should runand not be weary. I don't want
to miscod it. I'm getting tothis purity in a minute. That is
definitely in my notes. But yeah, we have to be willing to wait
(23:10):
on God. Some of the bestthings that I've received in my life came
after a long period of waiting, you know, And and I can and
I'm not gonna lie. I wasvery discouraged in some instances, you know,
I feel like, like, whyI've been doing this, and I've
been laboring, I've been toiling I'vebeen doing this, you know, like
why am I getting overlooked? Wild? I keep getting overlooked. But when
it was time and I was elevatedand God moved on my behalf, I
(23:34):
could look back and reflect and seewhy I had to wait, because,
believe it or not, even asimmature as I am now, for those
of y'all that know me, Iwas way more immature. You know,
I've matured a lot in Christ overthe past I would say eight years.
(23:55):
I've matured a lot of frict andI still have a lot. I got
a long way to go, butI know the growth that I've had,
and so I can look back andsay, like, ooh, if the
God would elevating me, then i'dhave missed up. I probably would have
missed up right. I didn't havethe wisdom, I didn't have the discernment.
God is still growing me in discernment. I pray for that all the
(24:15):
time. Lord, give me adiscernment, right, because I could be
a gullible person sometimes. I'm froma small country town, you know,
and my mama tell me all thetime, you're too trusted, you to
trusted, you know, But Itrust that's who I am. You know,
but I try to be more wise, and I asked God to give
me the spirit of discernment so I'llbe able to discern better. Right.
(24:38):
And so sometimes you God doesn't putus in a position where that he knows
that we are not ready for Sosometimes you're waiting because you're not where you
need to be. And I putthis on my Facebook post the other day.
Growth Are we growing? Are youstagnant? You wain't on God to
bless you, but you're not doinganything to hepn bless you. You haven't
(25:00):
done anything to transition into a newseason. You stuck where you at.
You're not trying to learn. You'renot trying to grow, you're not reading
your word. You're not studying, you're not going to Bible study. You're
not going Sunday school. You maybe barely going to church on Sunday.
That's right. Then we think we'reready, but God knows. God knows
if we're ready or not. Andso we're required to wait on His timing
(25:25):
so that He can develop us andequipped us to be able to handle and
maintain the blessing. You want tobe able to maintain the blessing. Right,
you don't want to get through witha bunch of pride with they pride
come before the fall, right,so you full of pride, you don't
want to get elevated, and you'refull of pride, everybody gotta come see
(25:45):
you come tumbling down. And sohe waits until you're ready. You don't
want to be elevated, and you'renot healed, you're broken, and you
are bleeding on people because you havewounds that have not healed. And so
God knows that He knows where weare spiritually, physically, emotionally, he
(26:07):
knows what we can handle them, what we're ready for. Right, sometimes
he has to purify us. Hehas to make sure check your motives.
What are your motives for wanting whatyou want? When you're asking God for
whatever you're asking him for, Whatare the motives of you asking for that?
What is your motives for desiring that? Right? Because because it's so
easy to get caught up in idolatry, right, we don't want to We
(26:29):
don't want to put things above God. He might he might. God know
that when he blessed you with that, with that job, you might he
gonna go to the back ground,or he bless you with that house,
and then he started throwing all kindof parties. You know, he know
what's gonna happen, that's gonna getyou off track. So why would he
give you something that you're not readyfor? Right, So we've got to
make sure our motives are right. You have to be a good story over
(26:53):
what you already have. That's right. All you pay your tithes and your
offerend you give to others? Doyou give to the poor? Is that
why you want to be blessed? Is that why you're asking God to give
you that of honance so that youcan be a blessed to the Kingdom of
God, so that he may theremay be meeting his story house, or
that you can be able to soarinto the house of God of God,
(27:15):
be able to so into God's people, be able to do things for the
upbuilding of the kingdom. Or isit all selfish motives? You're just worried
about yourself, And so we haveto be aware of that. You know.
Also even our willingness to wait onGod. God may just be trying
to see or are you willing towait on me? And so we have
(27:41):
to be willing to wait on theLord. All right, We need to
make sure that as we're waiting,it requires our faith. Faith is the
substance of things hoped for, theevidence things I see. I can't see
nothing. I don't see it,but I believe it right, it's the
(28:03):
substance of hoping for that. I'mhoping that God is gonna do this thing.
I'm believing that God is gonna dothis thing. It requires us to
have faith. It requires us tohave patience. It requires us to have
humility, to humble ourselves, meekness, long suffering. We should also make
(28:26):
sure that we're keeping His commandments right. We're asking God for something, but
we're not doing what God has askedus to do. Think about that.
If you're asking God to do somethingfor you, but you're not worried about
what God has asked you to do. We need to be concerned with what
God is requiring of us. AndI promise you, when you start lining
(28:49):
up with the word of God,I'm witness. I can tell you.
I can tell you when I wasstraddling the fence and lukewarm on foot into
one foot out and you know Ilove the Lord. He heard my cry
and twisty roll hide and Canon's sweetengo. And I was when I was
on both sides and I was doingtipping and dipping and slipping. He was
(29:12):
withholding things from me because I wasn'tready. But when I started getting serious
about my walk and I started makingsure that I'm reading the word. That
don't mean I'm perfect, because noneof us are perfect. But I'm striving
to let the Holy Spirit rule andabide in my life. That's right.
Faith without works is dead. Sowhile we're waiting, what are you doing?
(29:33):
Sometimes we don't want to do ourpart. We have to do our
part. We have to do ourpart. Over In Galatians six and nine,
when I used to go to ypwW when I was young, I
used totart to saying galilations. Iused to call it galilations. Did anybody
else call it galations? So thatwas just me. Ever in Galilations in
(29:56):
Galatians six and nine, it says, let us not I become worried and
doing good, for at the propertime, we will reap a harvest if
we do not give up. So, no matter what it seems like,
no matter what the delay, keepon working for the Lord and know that
in his time, in his timing. He's gonna do it. He's gonna
(30:19):
do it. Isaiah forty and thirtyone is the scripture that my unmarried was
coming from. It says, butthose who hope in the Lord will renew
their strengths. They will soar onwings like eagles. They will run and
not grow weary. They will walkand not be fame and man. When
you put your hope in the Lordright, that's called getting your priority straight.
(30:40):
When you get your priority straight andyou focus on the Lord, he'll
give you the strength you need. And it says you will mount up on
wings like an eagle over on God'sglory line. They gave us a good
lesson about eagles. Oh it wasso good. I wish I had time
to give it to you, butI don't. But he will. God
will take care of you. Ifyou be about your father's business, he'll
(31:04):
be about your He'll take care ofyour business. I promise you that.
And when we're waiting on God,we need to wait with hope, anticipation,
and trust. I'm gonna leave youwith this last scripture before we bring
our guests in. It is Psalmthirty three and twenty hold on thirty three
twenty through twenty two. It's saysthung plants sung, why, but God
(31:27):
gives the increase. Amen. Amen. It says we wait in hope for
the Lord. He is our helpand our shield. In him, our
hearts rejoice, Oh Lord, inhim we got to get in him,
y'all. In him, our heartsrejoice, for we trust in His Holy
name. May your unfeeling love restupon us, O, Lord, even
(31:51):
as we put our hope in you, listen, keep your hope in the
Lord, no matter what it lookslike. I hope that you be encouraged.
I hope that when you start feelingdown and feeling like it's not happening
when you want it to happen, that you would just remember those before you
who God worked it out, andremember it's about him. It's all for
his glory. It's not for yourglories, for His glory. Right.
(32:14):
So when things are not working outfor you, just stay in prayer,
stay in the world of God,and keep waiting on God. Amen,
and He will come through for you. Listen, We're going to bring in
our guests. Marissa Laverne Daniel, better known as Marvelous Marissa. She was
born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is a graduate of Clark Atlanta
(32:37):
University with a bachelors in Mass MediaArts with a concentration in radio, TV
and film. She is the executiveproducer and host of her own television show,
Broken Into Beautiful. She has alsohosted Atlanta Live and It is currently
a television journalist for TV one's hitshow Fatal Traction. She travels all around
(32:59):
the country hosting red carpet Vincent galas, and she has won numerous awards and
beauty pages. Y'all help me welcomemy friend, my special guests, marvelous
Marissa to the stage. Hey,how you doing good? Are you?
(33:22):
I'm doing good. It's so goodto see you. I see you racking
your crown. Come on here, come on, Yeah, I was getting
paid over here. Oh glory beto God. Listen. I just want
to encourage your somebody because we wait. We all wait know God for something,
and so I just want to encouragethe saints of God that if you
(33:44):
wait and just keep on holding onto God's un change your hands. Amen.
Amen, I know you have somany testimonies and how you waited on
God and having the marvelous things He'sdone in your life. So go ahead
and share with my guests and tellthem what God done for you. Yes,
well, thank you so much,Lyric for having me on. I
(34:04):
appreciate this. And basically your wordthat you just gave is simply my testimony.
I had to wait on God,and like you said, God's timing
is the best timing. You justread that. I'm from Wisconsin and I
attended Clark Atlanta University and that wasback in twenty twelve. That's when I
graduated. And you know, asa senior in college, I had my
(34:29):
own TV show on campus. Iinterviewed Monica Pearson, I interned at CHADL
two Fox By. You know, just I thought that after graduation I was
going to be good. Ok.You know, like millions of students who
graduate think that it's going to beperfect. Well, when I graduated,
(34:50):
I hit a brick wall, youknow, constantly being rejected, being told
that I wasn't pretty enough to beon TV, told that I was too
big to be on TV. Youknow, growing up, I was in
speech class. My kindergarten teacher toldmy mom that I would have a hard
time speaking being a published speaker, that I had a you know, difficult
(35:14):
time enunciating my words. So thatdiscouraged me at a very very tender young
age as a kindergarten then, youknow, you know, going being a
speech class, being constantly bullied, being harased, hold that I wasn't good
enough or pretty enough. But see, God put something in my heart,
you know, way, you know, way before he entered me in my
(35:37):
mother's womb. God gave me apromise. Right, God gave me a
promise, and he told me thatHe has graced me to be a red
carpet host, to be a TVjournalist, to be a motivational speaker,
to be a minister, to bean author, and so much more.
And I had to wait on Godto do it. I had to do
(36:00):
some work within me and you know, internally, you know, he had
to do some work. And nowyou know, it took. It took
a while, but I'm happy thatit did because now I'm more prepared.
You know, I'm a girl whowas once in speech class. I'm a
(36:20):
girl. I'm a girl who wasbullied, who was told that she wasn't
pretty enough, that I was toobig, that I needed to lose weight
to be on TV. But see, that's what the enemy said. That's
what the girl said, who toldme he has graced me for this,
and he has put me on severalredcarpass I signed my first TV contract in
twenty seventeen with WATC TV fifty seven, that's a gospel Christian TV station here
(36:46):
in Atlanta. Then that turned intome having my own show on the network.
That turned me to me. Thatturned into me being a freelance TV
host for them on Atlanta Lie.That turned into me hosting a two hour
gospel radio show on IBNX Radio network. That turned into me being on so
many stages, so many red carpets, And I was told that I was
(37:10):
ugly, that I wasn't pretty enough. But see that's what the devil said,
got put me on three billboards. Now an ugly person, you know
that's on a billboard, right. You know here in Atlanta, Atlanta is
a top ten market. So youknow, like what you said, I
had to wait on God. Godneeded to do some work, you know,
(37:30):
he needed you know, I neededto become much more stronger. And
like you said, there's purpose behindthe jobs that we've had. And you
know, I used to be aleasing consultant. I used to hate that
job. But you know what,I'm glad that I was a leasing agent
because it taught it want. Itgave me tough skin, it gave me
a backbone. Two you know,it taught me some marketing skills, and
(37:54):
now I know how to market myself. I know how to market my books.
So there's purpose behind everything that wedo. So my testimony is it's
gonna be for the rest of mylife until he cost me home to glory.
My testimony is that God has thefinal say so on men may tell
(38:15):
you one thing, but God hasthe final say. So that's what I
love so much about God. Youknow, it's by his grace and his
mercy, and I'm staying on hispromises. Fox five told me no,
WSB, you know told me no. You know, I've been rejected by
so many jobs and stuff. Butit's funny to me, Larry, that
(38:37):
I received awards with the reporters andanchors that I used to intern with,
and they be shocked when they seeme on stage with them. What you
prepare a table for you in thepresence of exactly the same people that rooting
against you, God elevate you rightbefore their eyes, exactly exactly. So
(39:00):
I just, you know, Ithank God. You know, his timing
was the best timing. You know, I wasn't because I probably would have
sabotaged myself. God needed to dosome work, you know, And it
happened right on time. He kepthis promise. Because I would have dreams
about me interviewing gospel superstars like youon the red carpet. I would have
(39:24):
dreams about this in twenty fourteen andtwenty fifteen, and I would say,
God, I'm dreaming about this, but I work in the leasing office or
I work in retail. How amI going to go from a desk to
the red carpet? And God didit just like that, and he gave
me favor with so many people. He gave me favor with Tuana Black.
(39:45):
She walked up to me in twentytwenty like she knew me. It's like
she was drawn to me. Thenit took off from there, you know.
So I just I'm just I'm justa living testimony that God has the
final say so. And you know, as you guys can see, I'm
wearing a crown and I'm wearing mysash, and I'm a contestant and an
(40:07):
international pageant. Now LERI it tenyears ago. Five years ago, I
would not have done this because Ididn't have the confidence there, you go.
I didn't believe in myself. Remember, I was told that I was
too fat, that I wasn't prettyenough, that I didn't look like my
mom, you know. But nowI'm ready. Now I'm able to do
(40:29):
this, and I'm not comparing myselfto the other young ladies because it's me
and God, amen. And Hehad to grow you to be able to
be there right, Like you said, if it would have happened five or
six years ago, you wouldn't havebeen ready emotionally, mentally having the confidence
that you have, you know. But after He worked on you and removed
those insecurities, removed those those negativethoughts, and now you're ready right when
(40:52):
he when his spirits started shining upin you. He's elevating you in his
time right, and it's so beautiful. If I want to encourage people from
because what you said it triggered somethingin me. You said when you were
working in another position, God wasgiving you dreams about your future and you
(41:13):
were saying, I'm not even doingthat, Like, how does that?
You know? And I can Itmade me recall. I remember I was
working in a mental institution because mycollege degree is in psychology. Most people,
I don't think a lot of peopleknow that, but my actual college
degree is in psychology. And Iwas working at a mental institution, and
I was having dreams that I waswriting hit songs. And I wake up
(41:36):
and I'd be like, I wanta song. It was real good,
but I can't remember it, like, but I like, I knew like
I wrote a song, and Iwas I was at the time. I
was not a rapper, I wasnot a minister. I always wanted to
be in the music ministry because mywhole family can sing. You know.
God didn't give me the singing gift, but my whole family can sing.
I know. You know, myfirst cousin of Patrician sings. I told
(41:57):
the storm, which was at thetop of the start year, you know,
for a long time. But soI knew, like music was my
family, but it wasn't in me, you know. And so I'm like
I woke up like man, likeI wrote it. I wrote it his
song. I can't remember not oneword of it, but in the dream,
I knew it was a hit song. You know, and now here
we are fifteen eighteen years later, and everybody run around saying, ain't nobody
(42:22):
mad but the devil? Yes?Yes, so so speak to that like
God giving you these dreams while you'renot even thinking of being in that position
now. Because see, I thoughtthat my dreams were dead. I thought
back in twenty fifteen, twenty fourteen, that God forgot all about me.
(42:44):
I'm like God, you know,I went to Clark Atlanta, I stepped
out on faith. You know,I had these internships, I have my
own TV show and now door andstarted being shut in my face lyric.
I thought that the dream was dead. I thought that I was going to
work in property management for the restof my life. But see, God
showed up in twenty seventeen. Heput me back on camera to do a
(43:07):
thirty second prayer room announcement live onTV. It was thirty seconds and he
said, if you be faithful overthis thirty seconds, Marissa, I'll make
you ruler over many Yes, hesaid, you be faithful, And I
was faithful. There. You shouldhave saw me running home, switching wigs,
(43:28):
putting on my lipstick, putting onmy dress. I was guided in
that traffic, going to North Cross. I was faithful and by me doing
thirty seconds either I was dating someoneat the time and he put me down,
but doing that thirty second prayer roomannouncement, but I was faithful.
(43:50):
Had an enemy try to use peopleto put those negative things? Yeah,
yeah, But after doing that thirtysecond announcement, six months later, God
blessed me with a thirty minute show. Then a year later he blessed me
to host a live hour and likelike a two hour live TV show on
(44:10):
WATC. Then that turned it tome hosting a live radio show. Then
that's turned into me, you know, working at a syndicated radio station here
now til one or four point sevenof the Fish. I was the second
African American woman. That's a conservativehistory. Yes, yes, I was
the second African American woman to hosta segment on a conservative gospel radio show.
(44:36):
And that turned into TV one contactingme out the Blue. I was
highly recommended for Fatal Attraction. That'sa national syndicated show. So I love
it. I love it. Iget your episodes, and I love it.
Thank you you guys watching y'all gocheck my sys out on fable track
on TV one. Yes, yes, so God said, Marissa, if
(44:59):
you be faithful, you know,I will blow your mind than the awards
he has given me. I seeGod. You know, like last year
at the Praise by the Wars,I said, how in the world that
I go from being in speech classto be an mc slash host of the
Year, to be in you know, twenty twenty one media honor reed the
(45:20):
Girl Power Award. How did Igo from being a speech class My teacher
said that I couldn't enouncie my words. I'm not I won't be a good
public speaker. But look what Goddid. So and now you know,
God had even greater things because evenfrom a young age, the devil he
was trying to plant seeds to discourageyou from from kindergarten. The enemy was
(45:46):
sending seas to discourage you off ofthat path, to try to make you
feel like you weren't capable, Youweren't able to do these things. But
God, but God, but God, Yeah, Halleluliah, Yes, so
yeah, I don't want to cryon your show. Okay, Okay,
(46:08):
yeah, so I'm just I'm justblown away. So like what you said
earlier, you have to wait onGod. You have to stand on his
promises, because I'm a living testimony. If he did it for me,
he's the same God that can doit for you. I'm a living testimony
and I'm still standing on his promisesbecause God, if you still have breath
(46:30):
in your body, he's not donewith you. I'm done with you.
So anybody that's watching this right nowor if you catch the replay, my
my advice to you, my youknow, I encourage you to stand on
your stand on your word, standon your promises. Know that God has
not forgotten about you. I thoughtthat he forgot about me. I thought
(46:52):
that, you know that I wouldnever pursue media. But seeing, you
know, God kept his word,He kept his promise. He you know
he God had a conversation with usall before we entered our mothers. Yeah,
we had a conversation with God andwe're not. Yes, he knew
(47:13):
us. Yes, so you knowI'm we're not. We're not gonna leave
this earth without fulfilling everything that Hehas promised us. And I'm a living
testimony. I was told that Iwas too fat, that I wasn't pretty,
that I needed to lose weight, that I had a speech problem.
But look what God said He toldme that he has graced me for this.
(47:37):
You know, he told me that'swhat the enemy said. And like
the lyric just said, the enemytried to sow seize when I was five
years old, he tried to sowseize in me lyric. But I'm just
amazed when I look at all ofmy wars and when I look at when
I'm watching me on TV, I'mlike, wow, So that's my have
(48:00):
some money today, since that Godhas the final say. So God has
the mom said listen, you havedropped so many nuggets on today, so
many encouraging things. Uh. Yousaid that what if you be faithful over
you, you'll make your ruler overman. And you started out with just
thirty seconds and it opened up somany doors. Right, God, God
(48:24):
saw you be faithful and committed tothat thirty seconds and to be humble enough,
you know, because some people thinkthey're too proud, they too good
for they say thirty seconds, theycan get it to somebody else. You
know, you said you was drivingout the way the north Cross. I
know that's a good hight, right. You said you coming home, you're
changing wigs, you're putting on yourmakeup. But you were willing. You
(48:46):
were willing to do that in thatseason, right, you were sewing into
what God had for you, andyou were able to reap the harvest.
Right. And what did you say? You said that God has not forgotten
about you. Man, I knowthey have to encourage somebody on today.
She said, God has not forgottenabout you, those of you who are
(49:08):
on here. You're feeling defeated. You're feeling like God has forgot. God
has not forgotten about you. AndGod has the final say. It's not
over till God over. I ammarryans that no weather form against me shall
prosper. Yes, what the whatthe evil meant for bad, God will
work it out for your good. All things work together? Was that?
(49:32):
I think that Romans eight is,Oh Lord, I'm all trying to quoe
a scripture. But all things getthe point. Yes, we get those
who love the Lord, who arecalled going to his purpose. Right.
We have to remember that we havework to do. So many people just
sit around and think they wain't noGod, but they're not doing anything.
You have a responsibility, You havea hand in it. It ain't all
(49:54):
on God, it's something on you. We have to make sure that we're
doing what we supposed to be doing. Right. Me and my Auntie just
talked about this yesterday, talking aboutJacob and how Jason Jacob wrestled all night.
He said, I won't let goto your bless me, right,
and so he so he didn't.He didn't throw it at the time either.
No, Right, he was afighter all his life. Right came
(50:16):
out holding over to his brother. He'll you know, he said, you
ain't. I ain't getting left behindme. If I have to steal it,
I would take it from you.And I'm not a courage you know,
steal it. But Jacob said, hey, listen, I'm gonna fight
for what I what I desire, what I feel like God has for me.
(50:37):
And that's what we have to do. When God put something in your
heart, what he gives you adream, is there for a reason.
Right when you were dreaming about beinghosting these things and being on TV we
dreaming about it's there for a reason. And so we're doing ourselves an injustice
when we just don't put in thework. Faith without works is dead.
(50:59):
So whatever you're believe in God,for whatever you're having, the faithful,
you got to put in the workfor it, Yes, absolutely, And
the most important part and put inthat work is making sure that we're living
according to the way that God saysthat we ought to live, right.
That is important. So you're ayoung young woman, a little bit younger
(51:19):
than myself right now, we bothsingle and read it to mingle. So
let's talk about that a little bitto encourage these young ladies out here when
we're Because I saw your beautiful pieceon the Valentine's You and I both were
on the Valentine's Day especial and wetalked about, you know, our single
season, and I think it's soimportant for us to encourage the young ladies
(51:44):
that are waiting on God to waitthe right way, you know, don't
get in a hurry. I seeso many young ladies and I even I
encourage them, and I pray forsome young ladies that are in relationships right
now and they're shacking, you know, and they're in they're crying and telling
me about all these things, andI'm saying, well, you know,
you got to do it the rightway. When you're doing the wrong way,
(52:05):
we can expect I'll here to breakloose. Right. I don't know
if you have you seen the TikToksensation, who TF did I marry?
Have you seen that? No?I haven't. No, Oh it's a
viral sensation. It's been going crazy. But just listening to her story because
she's a Christian, you know, and so and she was checking herself and
(52:25):
she was telling the story. Youknow, she was like, oh,
he moved in and I didn't feelright because you know, I shouldn't be
shocking, but you know, itwas a lot of misery and strife that
she bought on herself because she gotahead of God. She wanted to,
she said, And she said herself, I wanted it to be my turn,
right, And so you know, you and I both we've had some
(52:50):
crazy relationships and things like that.So let's just encourage these young people to
tell them, Like, what encouragingwords can you say to the young ladies
out there that's desiring to be married, desiring to get that part of their
life started about waiting on God.You know, I'm gonna definitely share this.
I am single. I've been singlenow for seven years, and I've
been celibate for about five years now. Honestly, honestly, lyric I realized
(53:16):
that in this time of me beingsingle and especially being celibate. God has
blessed me tremus years. It's like, you know, I got so much
joy, I got so much peace, I got so much happiness. It's
just these years of being single hasbeen you know, I've been busy.
(53:40):
The book signing is the speaking engagementsso much God, you know, God
had to remove those distractions out ofmy life. And now I do desire
marriage and I'm waiting patiently for mybox ass. But to the ladies that
are single, you know, embracethis time. Yes, embrace this time,
(54:01):
because these has been some of thebest years of my life. It
really has leared. Now I don'twant to be single, but the rest
of my life and these years ithas just been so I've been so much
happier, peace, My skin hascleared. Come on, tell it's been.
(54:23):
It's been peaceful for me. It'sbeen a blessing for me. And
you know, it feels good togo to the doctor and you're in and
out. You know, it's justand I'm maybe going to deep but hey,
no, no, no, weencouraging the young lucky man. Let
Yes, it's just it's just forhelp, and yes, it is so
(54:44):
it's like for the young ladies that'ssingle. Embrace this time. This is
your time with you and God.This is the time for you to fall
in love with God and to fallin love with the woman that you are,
the woman that you are becoming. You know, step out on faith.
This is the time for you topursue your dreams, you know,
to walk in your calling. Andas you're walking in your calling, the
(55:07):
right one will meet you. Theguy will will send the right one.
And I waited patiently for God becauseabout I will say about two three years
ago, Lyric, I was thirsty, you know, I will and you
know, if this is testimony time, I was thirsty for relationship and it
seemed like, you know, Iwas thirsty, and I was, you
(55:30):
know, the wrong men were showingup, you know, boa asses,
cousins and his brothers. I wasmeeting them. And oh yes, because
the more thirsty you are, themore broken you're gonna becouse. You know,
you're gonna continue to damn it yourself. You know, your standards,
(55:51):
You're not gonna have that standard inplace that God has for you. Yes,
yes, so my sisters, evenmy brothers, you know, beingcouraged.
You know this is the time tofall in love with God, you
know, walk in your purpose,go out there and pursue your dreams and
god like Lyrics said earlier, God'stiming is the best timing. He will
(56:13):
send the right one at the righttime. Because God does not want us
to be lonely for the rest ofour lives. No, he did not.
You know, that's not no,no, no. God has somebody
for everyone. That's your wait patiently, and I'm waiting patiently. I'm no
longer thirsty, you know. Andin the waiting time, I gotta see
(56:34):
stuff to do. God's busy,That's right, and isn't He's so good
like that. I feel the sameway. You know. I'm divorced,
and so I've been divorced for eightyears. I've been celibate for eight years,
and you know, Glory to God. My friend I was a friend
with my in the car my friendon Sunday and she said, hey,
you do that, and that's goodto holdly ghosts. The holy ghost is
(56:57):
a keeper, you know. Buthonestly, what keeps it also is I
don't want to disappoint God. Youknow what I mean? You know,
when you before I was married becauseI was selling it as well before I
got married, but I wasn't avirgin, and so I just remember whenever
I would fall, just how miserableI would feel. You know. Sometimes
when we seeing against God, itjust brings such a miserable feeling, and
(57:22):
so you know that it's not worththat. And so it's like that that
little bit of pleasure is not gonnabe worth the grief and the anguish that
I'm gonna feel when I know thatI broke my vow to God, you
know, because I vow to Godthat I would be sellingbate until I was
married again, you know. Andso God is a keeper, and like
you said, he keeps us busy. You know, you don't have time
(57:44):
thinking about it because I'm I'm I'mflying here and I'm flying there and do
that, you know. And soit's like you don't even really have time
thinking about it because you're in thatsingle season and he knows. God knows
what we have need of, andlike you said, it's important that we're
still growing. You know. Whoever, whatever husbands he have for us,
he's still working on them while he'sstill working on us. So he you
(58:05):
know, I know, you know, I already had a fail marriage,
so I definitely don't want that. And so I know that he's preparing me.
And like you said, it's important. What are you doing during the
preparing season? You know, I'mI'm you get some counseling, some therapy,
you know, I'm reading. Iread a lot, you know,
I read Kingdom marriage and and howa wife speaks and all kind of stuff
(58:25):
to try to help myself to bebetter and to be prepared. And I
just wanted to encourage young ladies becausewhen when you when you get in a
hurry and you get before God,you're in the you'll put yourself in a
in a bad mess situation. Youknow, if you know when it's from
God. Anything, a man that'sfrom God is going to be a man
(58:45):
of God. Okay, a man, a man that's that's from God is
gonna be a man of God.A man a distraction is something that's gonna
pull you away from God. Sowhen a man comes into your life,
you need to make sure that youknow where Christ Christ look take his fruits.
Check them fruits. What are hisfruit? What they look like?
(59:08):
That's what you need to see.You know, if he's trying to get
in the bed. You already knowthe Lord didn't send him. He taking
you away from church, and heain't He ain't trying to read with you
and pray with you and read theword. And if he can't encourage you
in the world to talk, theworry about you. The Lord ain't saying
(59:29):
him. Because a man is supposedto be a leader, right, I'm
not looking for a man to lead. I'm not looking man for a man
for me to lead. I'm lookingfor a man that's want to lead me.
Yes, I ain't even looking forI'm waiting on him. I'm waiting
on a man that's gonna lead me. So and so the enemy, you'll
be able to spot when he's seendingyou something because it ain't gonna line up
(59:51):
with the word of God. Heneeds to be a man of God.
He needs to be willing the wayhe should be. Cellibate hisself. Right,
So you meet a man and heain't selling it, keep on moving.
So I got insent you right, you need to be on one occur
How can two walk together lest theyagree? And so you know these young
girls, they lower their standards andaccept this. They want to feel loved,
(01:00:14):
They want a man to love. But the man that God has to
love you, he's gonna love youthe way that God has called him,
the love like Christ loved the Church. Yes, Amen, And so I
want to encourage you, young ladies. If the man he he ain't willing
to wait, throw him back, run fast. What if I would say,
(01:00:34):
flea forrtication, Run fast what theysay, and the devil will use
that guilt of you falling to tortureyour mind. God will forgive you and
you have to yourself. Amen. You're right about that. You're right about
there. They're married, definitely. But I want to encourage young ladies because
you know, in the world we'reliving in, everybody's is promoting sexual activity
(01:00:57):
and formications. Like my sister saidthat you be in the hospit you have
probablys wrong with you. I believein soul tied. Just all kind of
you put yourself at risk for pregnancy, diseases, all kinds of things.
Mental people go crazy behind stuff, you know, So you just can save
yourself from that. When you doit, God's wait and wait on God.
(01:01:19):
Amen. Any last encouraging words youwant to say, if you want
to pray us out, you can. If not our prayers at you just
let me know. Yes, yes, well you know, just thank you
for having me again, says this. You know this felt good. I'm
just you know, I'm just overwhelmedby God's love and with me waiting on
God and stepping out on faith andbelieving his word, you know, like
(01:01:43):
you said, trusting in God,putting your total trust in him. And
I just thank God that He hasthe final say so over all of our
lives. So remember that to thosethat's watching, that's listening, regardless of
what mama, daddy, teacher, you know, ex boyfriend, regardless you
know what the world may say,you know that God has the final says.
(01:02:07):
And even I will let me addone more thing, because I think
about relationships, even friendships. Ibless God for you how you put us
in a friendship as well as Delicia. You know, it just does your
heart goods and have saved sanctified fieldwith the holy good friends. Yeah,
when you have people that you canbe on one accord, you know,
because some people can't relate, butwe can call each other and talk to
(01:02:29):
each other and we just own thatsame one accord, on that same wave
thing. So I just bless Godfor friends who are like minded and so
also while you're waiting on a man, uh, based your friends that you're
and you have friends that are encouragingyou in the Lord, that you're able
to study the world with and encourageone another in the Lord while you wait
as well, it's important how wepick our friends as well. Yeah,
(01:02:50):
that's God is true. Yeah thatis thank God for you. Yes,
I've been friends. I've had girlfriendsin the past. That you know.
Friends can also to break your hearttoo, so yes, you do have
to be wise your circle. Andyes they're also kingdom women of God.
That's right, God says, donot be deceived for what is it?
(01:03:12):
Bad company corrupts good morals. Yes, yes, so you can. Your
friends can lead you astraight. Soit's supportant to make sure that we are
just guarding our hearts, guarding ourminds, our eyes, and make sure
that we're in the will of theLord. Yes, so you want to
praise this, so you want tobe prayers that go ahead? Girlfriends out
girl, Okay, listen, thankyou again. I sure enjoygi your testimony.
(01:03:37):
You look so beautiful. Your crownis yet to come. Congratulations on
all of your awards. And andaccolades, and I just be so proud
of you. I see all yourpictures with your sashes, and uh,
