near death experience, I found a very interesting question. Why
would people of all different religious backgrounds, even agnostics, see
Jesus in their near death experience? And do they see
other religious figures like Krishna or Buddha or Allah. Who

that what I felt coming towards me, what this is
white rope like this, It was just flowing. He's coming in.
The closer he got, the more I want to see,

So why would Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, even agnostics and
atheists see Jesus in their near death experience? I mean,
is this proof or at least strong evidence of what
people celebrate around the globe each Easter that Jesus has
really risen from the dead and alive. Well, you know,

I want to show you today what led me from
being an agnostic, skeptical engineer, which I started thinking Jesus
is just a legend. He was a good man, good teacher.
But I ended up coming to faith and even becoming
a pastor because of what I'm going to show you today.
And one of the things where I started is I

started to hear these near death experience stories. Today, I'm
going to let you hear from people. And none of
these people when they died believed in Jesus. They died
Hindu or Muslim, or Jewish or agnostic, and yet who
they encountered was Jesus in their near death experience. And

when I first started to see this, it opened my
mind like, well, maybe I should be more open to
reading the Bible. So I start studying the Bible. I
also studied the world's religions because I'm just a curious
kind of skeptical person. And what I discovered, I think
will fascinate you. And that's what I want to share today.

You know, there's this Jane parable. It's been adopted in
Hinduism and Buddhism as well, that four blind men came
upon an elephant one day, and they all felt different
parts of the elephant, and the first felt its trunk
and said that an elephant is like a snake, And
the second one grabbed its leg and said, no, an

elephant is like a tree. And the third felt the
side of the elephant and said, no, an elephant is
like a wall. The last one grabbed the tail and said, no,
an elephant is like a rope. And this parable is
supposedly saying this is what all the religions of the
world are doing. We're all describing the same God, but

(04:40):
from our different perspectives. Now, I think there's probably some
truth to that parable in this sense that you know, humanity,
all of us, we're trapped in this finite existence of
three dimensions of space and one dimension of time, and
if there's a creator created time and our three dimensions,

God exists outside of all that, we can't go find God.
In other words, and anything we're doing without God choosing
to intersect our existence and reveal himself, we're just blindly guessing.
We're all blind, So my opinion is no better than
your opinion or anyone else's. We can all have one,
but we're all blind. But what we really need is

(05:26):
someone who can see, who can see the elephant as
the elephant actually is, and describe what an elephant is
actually like, because the truth is, an elephant is nothing
like a rope or a snake, or a tree or
a wall. It's something entirely different. What if the first
question we need to ask is not which religion is

(05:47):
the right religion? You know, that's what people always you know,
they get in all these things about you know, you
think your religion's right or mind, it's the wrong first question.
I think the right first question is has God even
claim to intersect our three dimensions of space and one
dimension of time to reveal to us blind people what

(06:10):
God is really like? Because otherwise we are we're just
blindly guessing. Now, if you just start with the sacred
scriptures of the world's religions, which I've read the Bible
many many times, I've read the Koran, I've read large
portions of the Hindu Vedas, the Tibetan Book of the Dead,

the Buddhists, some of the Buddhist scriptures, And here's what
you find if you really study them, they do all
have a common moral law. And you know, I think
when people say things like well, all the religions are
basically saying the same thing. I think they mean this,
that they basically are referring to the same common moral law.

And interestingly, the Bible talks about how this is what
should be a expected. In Romans chapter two, it says this,
even gentiles or non Jewish people who do not have
God's written law show that they know his law. When
they instinctively obey it. They demonstrate that God's law is

written in their hearts for their own conscious and thoughts
either accuse them or tell them they're doing right. The
day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge
everyone's secret life. It's fascinating because a commonality of near
death experiences is they get this life review, which you know,
maybe that's the preview of that, but all religions teach

(07:38):
the same basic moral law, which literary Oxford scholar C. S. Lewis,
who studied this, summarized it this way. Take a look.
Don't do harm to another human by what you say
or do. That's the golden rule. Honor your father and mother,
be kind towards brothers and sisters, children and the elderly.
Do not have sex with another some spouse. Be honest

in all your dealings. Don't steal, do not lie, Care
for those weaker or less fortunate. Dying to self is
a path to life. Okay. So in about every culture,
every religion, for all human history, we've known basic right
and wrong and agreed on it. So what does that
teach us? Have we all pretty much kept this moral law?

(08:27):
Watch the news? I mean, what it tells us is
we're all royal screw ups, Christians, Buddhists, Jews, Muslims, even atheists.
You ever said I'll never but you did. We can't
even keep our own moral law, much less God's moral law.
So does what does this mean? I mean, the question

(08:49):
then is, if there's a God, will God judge us?
Will God condemn us? Does God great? On the curve?
And in this instance the different religions disagree. But if
you just asked the question, well, has God even revealed
himself in actual human history in a way that could
be verified? What I found is actually there's only one

(09:11):
scriptures that even claims this in a way that could
be verified, and that's the Jewish scriptures written over a
period of about fifteen hundred years. Now, I'm not the
only one who discovered this. Interestingly, doctor Mortimer Adler, who
was a philosophy professor at the University of Chicago also
the chief editor of the Encyclopedia Britannica. He wrote sixty books.

He was called America's philosopher by Time magazine, and he
was an agnostic almost his whole life. But near the
end of life he started asking is there any truth
to be found in religion or is it just you know,
good moral ideas. And so he wrote a book called
Truth in Religion. And look at what he comes to.

(09:57):
The conclusion he comes to, he said, only three religions
claim to have a supernatural foundation to be found in
a sacred scripture that purports or claims to be a
divine revelation. The three religions distinguished by this claimer Judaism, Christianity,
in the religion of Islam. Among the other religions, only

some claim to have logical or factual truth. But the
truth they claim is of human not divine origin. All right,
let me explain. So the secular philosopher discovers, if you
just read the sacred text of the world's great religions
and take them at face value what they actually claim.
There are only three that even claim that a creator

God has revealed himself in actual human history. The others
claim spiritual wisdom, moral truths often told through mythological stories,
but they're not set in actual real history. There's no
way to verify it. Wish Old Testament claims that God

was speaking through prophets for fifteen hundred years before the
time of Jesus, for telling when this Jewish Messiah would
come as the savior for all nations. Was always for
all nations. Now Christians claim that Jesus was the Jewish
Messiah foretold. Then Muslims claim that six hundred years after

Jesus died, an angel meets Mohammed in a cave in
the Middle East and reveals to Mohammed that the Old
and New Testament are mostly correct but needed correction, explicitly
regarding Jesus that Jesus did not die on the cross
it says in the Qoran, and he was not the

(11:46):
son of God. So interestingly, all three deal with the
issue of who is Jesus. Now. Interestingly, Jesus said this. Yes,
it was written long ago that the Messiah or in
Greek that's the word Christ, the Messiah, must suffer and
die and rise again from the dead on the third day,

(12:07):
and that this message of salvation should be taken from
Jerusalem to all the nations. There is forgiveness of sins
for all who turn to me. Now, if this is true,
this is great news for all people of all nations,
because what it means is God does not just condemn
us for our failures. He will actually forgive and He

(12:32):
will take anyone back who seeks him and turns back
to him. Now, I believe that near death experiences are
confirming this truth all around the globe today as evidence
that God cares about every person in every nation. Santosh
is one person I interviewed. He grew up in India.

(12:52):
He knew the Hindu scriptures very well, but he'd never
read the Bible. He was a manufacturing engineer. When he
was in the hospital and his heart stopped, he hears
code blue, code blue, and he thought, He told me,
I thought I would come back as another life form
when I died, But that's not what happened. He said,

This divine light, brighter than the sun, A million times
brighter comes to him, and he falls in love with
this light, and this light takes him, and he describes
looking out over this city that he knew was the
Kingdom of God. He describes exactly what John describes in

(13:34):
Revelation chapter twenty one. Then he sees the reality of
hell and describes that, and he longs to go into
the Kingdom of Heaven. He said this was home. But
listen then, as he described seeing the Almighty on his throne.

Speaker 6 (13:52):
I want to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but
I can't. I cannot go back where I came from,
because that's a no no. Once I leave this world,
there's only one way ticket. You cannot go back. So
my only option was to fall into that lake of fire.
From where I'm going to fall, it's all abys And

(14:14):
at that time I looked at the center of the platform,
and on the center of the platform, I saw there
are three steps, and on the third step I saw
there was a used throne, and on that throne it
felt like somebody was sitting there. So I looked up.

There was the Almighty. He was sitting there, and as
soon as I saw him, I knew he was the
Almighty because this no one higher than him. I knew
it automatically. Nobody had to introduce him to me. I
saw his face, and all the scenes I committed was

flushed before my eye eyes. So I kept repeating the
same thing, the Lord, please forgive me, Please forgive me. Also,
I felt that my knees automatically bowed down, even my
body wasn't. It felt like my knees automatically bowed down
to him.

What and what did he look like? What were you seeing?

Speaker 6 (15:19):
To me? He appeared to be like a giant. His
eyes were filled like lightning balls. Was very, very scary.
So I kept pleading to him, please forgive me, Please
forgive me. And I was waiting at any moment he's
going to command me to dive down. And then finally

(15:41):
he spoke to me. When he spoke to me, his
voice was full of tenderness, mercy and the grace. He said,
I'm sending you back to the Earth, complete your unfinished tasks,
and then I'll see you again. When the Lord speaks
spoke to me, I felt I was not shaking anymore.

(16:03):
I was not scared anymore.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Why is that.

Speaker 6 (16:07):
Because of the wise, tenderness, the love that he showed
to me, mercy in.

A word, you're experiencing love now from him.

I experienced the love tenderness from him that I did
not expect that I'm sending you back to the earth.
And when you were speaking to me, just a few
short distance from him on the on the platform level,

narrow gate, the entire Kingdom of Heaven everything in front
of me. I can see all the twelve gates that
I see still outside there that are all closed. But
the only one open is the narrow door and a

can enter into the Kingdom of Help.

So when the Lord was speaking to me, I.

Got a little courage. I asked the Lord, when you
see me again, please tell me how I can go
through this narrow door, because next time when he's seeing me, Lord,
I want to go to the narrow door. When I
go back, Please tell me which church, which temple, which mosque,

(17:27):
whose synagogue, or any other place that you want me
to join. I'll join. Please tell me. Finally, he responded,
he said to me, those things are not important to me.
I was totally shocked, because I thought the more religious
a person is the closest to heaven he is. But
he's telling me those things are not important to me.

(17:50):
He said, I want to see how honest, how true,
how sincere you are with me three hundred and sixty
five days a year, not just once a week, but
once a month. I want to see how sincere. I
want to see your relationship with me. What's your relationship

(18:15):
once you are back to your family. I want you
to love your family and love your children. Always tell
the truth, Tell the truth, but do not lie. But
also tell the truth. What do you see? What are
your witness here?

Speaker 1 (18:32):
So he waned you to tell the truth about what
you're seeing.

Speaker 6 (18:36):
What I'm seeing in front of the heaven.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Business, the heaven them?

And where are you going to fall?

And I'm going to fall?

That's the truth. It's gonna you know, have any two
things either go up front or fall down. There's no
way you can go back where it came from, no
reincarnation or what they think. There's no think. And the
only way you can enter into the kingdom. Is student's
narrow gate. Next instruction, he said to me, the wages

of sin is that commit no more since.

By that, because none of us can never say this.

Speaker 6 (19:17):
Is exactly what he's telling. Wages of sin is death.
Surrender yourself completely underline, completely unto me in your daily lives.
Walk with me, which is a very It's a completely
different language for me. I come from a different background.

(19:38):
I don't understand how can I walk with God? To me,
he looks like he's a mighty giant. His one step
will be like I have to run a rage just
to do his own race. How can he walk with him? Finally,
instruction he gave to me be kind to the poor.
Be generous to the poor. They need your help. People

(20:00):
and be poor in many ways, be physically poor, mentally poor,
emotionally poor, spiritually poor. These days, even when I look
at many people going to the churches every Sunday, the
many of them are spiritually poor. They just go there
to have a relationship with him. The next thing I know,

(20:22):
I'm back to the hospital after he came back. I
as soon as I get on my feet, they put
me on a new assignment that my new assignment was
in China, which meant me I had to travel there
to China quite often, quite frequently. But it was still
bothering me. I did not experience anything in my former

(20:42):
religion or I did not know what that meant. It
was bothering me big time, and I was really anxious
to know the things that eye witnessed, what they meant,
what they actually meant.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
I know for two years you were praying or understanding
of who this God is?

Speaker 6 (21:04):
Right, Yes, I was. It was bothering me because I
did not know this almighty God that I met, who
that person is, who that who he is is not
like what I've learned in my religion or summer I
was meditating, meditating upon that. See who is that gud?

(21:29):
So finally, you know, my daughter she got invited to
his great church here in Middleburg Heights. She was invited
by her friend to come to a I think it
was in Eastern Service to join the choir. She was
in a core group from the university. So she asked,
you know, Mom and dad, can you come and we're
going to be singing in the choir? Can you come?

(21:50):
So we came, and the very first time I came
to the church. Jonathan started speaking about narrow door, narrow gate,
as if he was just speaking exclusively to me. Okay,
So I heard that his sermon. I took some notes
from the Bible. I went back and looked at those

Bible verses and got me very interested because this is
exactly what I witnessed.

Okay.

Speaker 6 (22:17):
I keep Captain coming to the church every Sunday listening
to Jonathan, and gradually everything came clear to me what
this narrow door means. Narrow door means you need to
come through Jesus Christ. He is our only door. This

is the only door you can come in. No other.
There's no other say we're out there, there's only one say.
I came to know Jesus is the way, the only way,
and he loves us so much he doesn't care. He
doesn't care whose religion, who background, ethnicity I had. He

loves us so much that he came down from me
from his place in Heaven to come down to rescue
us from here. It makes perfect sense. I am now
pleading to anybody from any religion to come to know
Jesus because he is the only savior in the whole universe.

(23:25):
There's no other savior.

No, Santash is just one of many near death experiencers
who've discovered the same thing. Now, Like he said, God
doesn't want religious observation once a week. He wants our hearts.
He wants relationship every day of the week. That's what
he created us for love. It's interesting. Santosh did tell

me he did go and get involved in a in
a church because he said, you know, it's God's desire
that we learn and grow together in community, and that
that is important. But ultimately, he doesn't want us to
just jump through religious hoops. God wants honesty and relationship.
You know. I find it so fascinating because many times

when people don't know who this God is, he gives
them a parable, kind of like he gave Santosh a parable.
You know, Jesus taught in parables. He said, to test
the hearts of people, will they just get frustrated and
blow him off? Or will they really seek because they
really do want to seek to understand and know. You know,

(24:33):
it says in First Chronicles twenty eight the Lord sees
every heart and knows every plan and thought, and if
you seek him, you will find him. And Santosh did
seek him with all his heart, and he did find him,
you know. And as he said, two years later, he
goes to this church, and here's what the message was.
You can enter God's kingdom only through the narrow gate

(24:56):
Matthew seven. And then where Jesus says, I tell you
the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. Yes,
I am the gate. Those who come in through me
will be saved. They will come and go freely and
find good pastures. The thief's purpose is to steal and
kill and destroy, But my purpose is to give them
a rich, satisfying life. See. God wants all of us

(25:20):
to know him as he truly is. That's what relationship requires, right,
and he wants to lead us as we follow him,
into a rich and satisfying life. That's why he doesn't
want us to follow, you know, made up gods from
our mythologies or just in our heads. And by the way,

(25:40):
some Christians think they have the right God, but the
God in their head is nothing like who Jesus really is.
He wants us to know his loving, merciful, kind, forgiving character.
But he also wants us to know, just like Santosh
said to me, he's holy and he's just. And we've

(26:01):
all sinned. You know, God showed Santosh, and he shows
them all that when they have their life review, and
he quotes this verse to Santosh for the wages of
sin is death. But the free gift of God, it
goes on to say, is eternal life through Christ Jesus,
our Lord. See above all, God wants relationship. And that's

(26:24):
why he's done for all people of all nations what
he did through Jesus. You know, He's not going to
force himself on us, because relationship requires freedom, freedom to
seek and want to know and love the other, to
trust God and follow him, or freedom to reject God
and say no, you know, my will be done. I'm

(26:46):
playing God of my life. I know what's best for me,
you know. Santosh interestingly thinks he saw the risen Jesus.
He said, he said, I realized that Jesus is the
face of the unseen God of Light. But this is
the glorified Jesus that John describes in Revelation one. That's

who Santosh described. In Revelation one. It says he Jesus
was wearing a long robe with a gold sash across
his chest. His head and hair were white like wool,
as white as snow, which I think turns out to
be light. His eyes were like flames of fire, Santosh said,
like lightning. His feet were like polished bronze refined in

(27:31):
the furnace. And later Santosh saw that too and told
me about it. And his voice thundered like mighty ocean waves.
His face was like the sun in all its brilliance,
and he said, I am the first and the last,
the living one. I died, but look I'm alive forever
and ever. Now this seems too good to be true.

(27:51):
And yet here's how we know it is true. God
foretold it. He foretold who, where, when, what, and why
regards the Messiah, so we could know this is not myth.
It's God intersecting human history. Now I'm going to geek
out just a little bit going through some of this
prophetic foretelling and historical proof, because this is what convinced me.

But when I was a skeptic, I would have said, oh, well,
you know, this supposed fulfilled prophecy was probably doctored up
after Jesus lived to make it look like Jesus fulfilled
the prophecies but you know it doesn't prove anything. But
we know proof positive that's false. In nineteen forty eight,

we discovered the Dead Sea Scrolls, and in the Dead
Sea Scrolls we found parts of thirty eight of the
thirty nine books of the Old Testament, the Hebrew Bible,
including a complete copy of the Book of Isaiah. University
of Arizona scientist carbon dated it. Here's what they found.
There's a new radio carbon measures of the Dead Sea

Scrolls made by scientists at the National Science Foundation. Radiocarbon
dated the famous Book of Isaiah scroll at between three
thirty five BCE and one twenty two BCE. Palaeographers had

you in advance WHAT i was going to do so

People and he foretold who This messiah would. Be So,

isaiah writing in six EIGHTY, bc says this In isaiah
nine In galilee of The, utiles the people walking in
darkness have seen a great. Light those dwelling in the
land of the shadow of. Death light has come upon
has shined upon them because a child shall be born to,

shall be on his, shoulders and he shall be Called
wonderful Counselor Mighty, God Everlasting, father The prince Of, peace
