Although this episode is a little more scatterbrained than I wanted it to be, I am grateful for the opportunity to reflect on what I learned from serving in the Cedar City Temple as an ordinance worker. I hope you can follow my thought-process and hear the love I have for the temple, the patrons, the Gospel, and for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

If you ever have an opportunity to serve in the temple, I encourage you to take it!

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Hello, and welcome back to my podcast. Well, today is
kind of a fun special day because I'm going to
talk about what I have learned from serving in the Temple.
To give a little background, I am graduated from college.
I graduated in April of twenty twenty four. I did

(00:37):
FSY the summer of twenty twenty four, so I guess
the end of May, June, July. I think I was
done at the end of July, so I didn't have
any in August. And then when I came back, all
I knew was that I was going to do. I
was going to serve in the temple. That's all I knew.
I didn't know what job I was going to get.
I didn't know what I was going to do with

(00:57):
my time. I just decided I'm going to serve in
the Temple and the rest I'll figure out. So when
I got back from FSY, I start a job hunting,
job searching, and that was kind of hard. In fact,
I didn't get a job for like a month. I
really tried to find a one in August and just
no luck. And I ended up getting a job in September.

(01:20):
And so I decided, though even though I didn't have
a job yet that I was just going to get
the process, get the what is it the rock moving
that's not right, get the ball rolling, not the rolling,
the ball rolling. I was going to get the ball
rolling and go visit the bishop to have him put

(01:42):
my name towards the Ordnance Worker portal or whatever they
end up doing anyway. So I did that really easy.
It was like literally a ten minute meeting. It was
very simple, very easy. Then I was called by I
was called from the temple and asked what my schedule
was and what my availability was like, and then I

(02:03):
gave it to them, or I decided on Thursday mornings
because my grandma has served Thursday mornings in the temple
for several years now. Honestly, I feel like it might
have been ever since the temple got here or was
built in Cedar. I don't know, but it's been a
long time. She's done it for a lot of years, honestly,
that feels right. Twenty sixteen is when the temple was

(02:25):
built and dedicated, I think, I don't know, I don't
really want to look it up, but I'm pretty sure
that's what it was, and she's been serving there for
a long long time, and I don't know if it
was always Thursday morning, but she's been served, she's been
serving as an ordance worker in the temple on Thursday
mornings for a long time. So I told them I
wanted to do Thursday mornings so I could serve with
my grandma. And at one point I was like, well,

(02:46):
what shifts, you know, need availability or need more people,
and they said that they really needed people, they really
needed sisters Friday morning, and I ended up deciding on
Thursday morning, and so I was like, oh, you know,
that's too bad. So I started my first shift on
Friday or Thursday mornings. And I don't know if it
was the second week after that or the first week

(03:07):
after that. I don't remember, but I remember being at
an endowment session and thinking, ugh, I think I need
to add Fridays. And then I felt the spirit say please,
like add Fridays to your schedule. I want you to
do Fridays too, and I was like, oh okay. So
on the way home from the temple after doing an

(03:28):
endowment session, I called and said, hey, I want to
serve Fridays too, and I added that and then I
did that ever since, so I really only served two
more weeks on a Thursday shift, then my Friday shift,
and I joined the Friday shift as well. So yeah,
since September, I have served almost every week. Sometimes the

(03:48):
temple's closed or I got a sub because I had
other things going on, but I've served almost every week
since September, every Thursday and every Friday. And I've subbed
here and there, subed for me here and there, and
it's just been such a wonderful, amazing opportunity. And to
go back a little bit, so sorry to backtrack, but
to backtrack a little bit, when I did not get

(04:10):
into graduate school the very beginning of twenty twenty four.
It was actually January twenty fourth, twenty twenty four, when
I found out I did not get into SEU SID program.
It's very sad, and I ended up recording a podcast
episode later about wanting to I think it was. I

(04:30):
don't know if it was part three, maybe no, part two,
part two, maybe part two. I think it's part two.
It was part two of it's just a matter of one.
I'm pretty confident it was part two. I'm gonna go
with Part two. Final answer. Dangning anyway, After finding out
that I didn't get into the side program. I ended
up recording episode part two, like we've discussed, and I

(04:53):
talked about how I really was excited for all of
the I Get it Now moments, reasons and and moments
where I was like, Oh, okay, that's why I didn't
get into the SEU SID program. That's why I didn't
get into SEU SID program this last year. That's what
That's what I wanted was. I wanted I Get it
Now moments. I wanted moments where I was like, oh, Okay,

(05:13):
you know God really did have a plan for me. Okay,
that makes me feel better. And boy did I get
those at the Temple. I got so many of them,
a myriad of them, never ending moments where I was like,
oh okay, that's where I didn't get in. And obviously
now that I've gotten into graduate school at BYU and
I'm moving, literally, I'm moving this week. By the time

(05:34):
you're listening to this, I'm going to drive up north
to move tomorrow. If you listen to the day that
this came out, and if you listen to this the
day any day after it came out, then I've already moved.
That's wild. That's insane. That's literally insane. Anyway, I'm sitting
in my room in Cedar and thinking, oh, no, it's

(05:55):
like such a mess because I'm midpack. Oh anyway, you
don't care about that. Maybe you do, but it's messy
and it's scary and not the biggest fan of packing.
Just so that we're all on the same page, but
that's not what I'm trying to talk about. What I'm
trying to talk about is how serving the temple has

(06:15):
been wonderful and last week was my very last week
as an ordance worker in the Cedar City Temple, and
I know without a doubt that I'm going to do
it again in my lifetime. I don't know when, I
don't know what temple, I don't know at what period
of my life. I don't know how old i'll be,
I don't know, but I do know that I'm going
to do it again at some point, and I'm really

(06:35):
really excited for that because I just really loved and
enjoyed it so much. I took some notes to kind
of remind me and keep me on track so I
don't so that I don't forget. But yeah, okay, so
I talked about why I started serving in the Temple.
I just always wanted to. My Grandma talked highly about it,

(06:56):
and I ended up doing it before I even got
a job. And then I eventually got a job and
it didn't interview with my interfere with my temple schedule,
so that was good. Then I added Fridays. So then
I'm going to talk about things that I've learned in
the temple, favorite moments in the Temple, some quotes from
President Nelson about the Temple, and then give you a

(07:16):
cute little invitation. So that's the overview. As I'm recording
this almost eight minutes in. I'm sure I've edited out
some of it, so it's not eight minutes for you,
but it's almost state minutes for me. Yeah, that's what
I'm gonna talking about. Okay, So things that I've learned.
One thing that I've learned in the Temple that I
wasn't expecting but kind of already knew, but it was

(07:37):
a really cool, nice reminder, was how much people love you.
And let me clarify, I just mean, there's so much
room for love in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And
I've decided that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a
church of relationships. It's a gospel of relationships. That's where
you build really strong friendships. It's where you, hopefully if

(08:01):
you can, you know, be sealed in the temple to
your partner. The most important relationship, well, that's the most
important relationship between you and another human being, person, whatever,
you know what I'm trying to say. And then, of course,
the most important relationship is between you and Heavenly Father
and you and Jesus Christ. And that is also another
thing that I've learned is how important relationships are. The

(08:24):
Temple is all about covenants and making covenant, and if
you really get into what covenants are, it's about a
strengthening of a relationship, about a covenantal bond. When we
make covenance with Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ his son,
we are strengthening our relationship with God, with our Father.

(08:46):
I kind of got off a little bit sidetracked. My
point is that one thing I learned was how much
people love you, how much Heavenly Father loves us, how
much Jesus Christ loves us, and how important we are
to the work. I've really loved just learning that, and
I love just meeting different ornance workers and meeting different patrons.

(09:09):
By the way, patron is someone who just comes and
serves in the temple, So they come and do ornances
by proxy, or they come and do the ordnances for
themselves their first time. That's what a patron is, So
anyone who just comes and serves in the temple. And
then an ordnance worker is someone who is a temple worker.
So we shift in the Cedar City Temple every thirty minutes.

(09:32):
We get a little card that tells us where we're
going to go. So I might be assigned to the
celesti room for thirty minutes. I might be assigned to
a hall for thirty minutes. I might be assigned to
the dressing room for thirty minutes. Yeah, you just kind
of shift in things anyway. So there's ordnance workers, and
then there's patrons, and then the presidency and the coordinators

(09:54):
and anyway. You kind of know what I'm saying. But
the whole point is that I loved meeting people and
creating meaningful relationships. It was cool that on my last
day of Thursday, people were so sad to say goodbye
and me also, you know, and then on my last
day on Friday, people were the same, you know, everyone

(10:16):
was wishing me good luck, saying, oh, we'll miss you,
and it's just cool to be loved, you know, there's
you never can be loved enough. I think another thing
that I've learned in the temple is that the veil
is thin and that the spirit is really close. It
is easy to feel the spirit in the temple. Of course,
there are going to be days when maybe our heart's

(10:37):
a little bit heavier than normal, or we're a little
bit more stressed than normal, feeling anxious, and it's harder
to fill the spirit. I had those days, for sure.
But I also know that if there's any place on
the earth where Heavenly Father wants to remind us of
his love, it's in his house, you know. And it's

(10:59):
the easiest day to feel it because the veil is
so thin, and because it is his house and he
wants us to be there. And so I've just really
enjoyed being there and feeling the spirit and learning of
God's love in a more deep way. I suppose. In addition,
it's easier to get personal revelation there. It's easier to

(11:20):
find answers to questions. It's so much easier to find
peace there because you can pray for peace and Heavenly
Father can send that and I just it's so wonderful
and I love it. And then in addition to the
veil being thin, I think it's easier to have promptings
and to follow promptings in the temple. I really enjoyed

(11:42):
being able to smile to people or give people meaningful,
sincere compliments as I felt prompted to, and that was
super cool and super meaningful for me and led to
a lot of I get it now moments of you know,
I need you here and I needed to be in
the temple so that I could be on my Father's

(12:04):
hands and be his instrument to uplift others, and that
was really powerful for me. One thing that I did
was tried to learn as many names as I possibly
can and could. And there's a lot of regulars at
the temple, so a lot of patrons that just come
every single day or come every Thursday or every Friday,
and so it's easy to get to know names when

(12:25):
people come all the time. And I'm not even kidding you,
I've probably learned and I'm not like trying to flex
or anything. But I really strived to get to know names,
and I probably learned fifty sixty names and just try
to learn names again and again. And it was so
fun to see people and be like, Hi, sister so

(12:46):
and so, Hi, sister so and so, Hi, sister so
and so. They're like, you remember my name, And then
of course at one point they just stopped being surprised,
but they always smiled and just you could tell that
it meant a lot to them. And I feel like
that's another thing that I've learn and from serving in
the temple, is that Henley Father knows us by name,
and that our names are really important to him, and
who we are is really important to him. And I

(13:08):
think that is really valuable and really cool too. I
am grateful that Henley Father cares about us individually, and
I feel like that's such great news and something that
I take for granted. That we have the knowledge that
Hennley Father is the God of the universe, the God
of our universe, the god of all of the universes.

(13:28):
I don't even know. Our brains can't comprehend it. But
this most powerful being not only created us, but loves
and knows us individually. It's really cool. I just love it.
So yes, I think it's really cool. And I've learned
that we are known and needed, and that he thinks

(13:50):
we are important and knows we are important. I've also
learned to think about things in an eternal perspective, to
think celestially, as President Nelson would say. And I've learned
that a lot of times, when we're stressed about something,
when we look at it through an eternal perspective, it

(14:10):
can be a lot less stressful. And that's not always
the case, because sometimes what we're stressed about is pretty
eternally important and important to us. But I do know
that how my father wants us to be happy, and
if everything's not okay, then it's not the end. That's
something that I was prompted to tell people every once

(14:30):
in a while was Hey, I just feel prompted to
tell you that everything's going to be okay, you know.
And at times it can be invalidating to hear that.
If someone's like really freaking out and you're like, bro,
it's gonna be okay, You're like, no, I doesn't feel
like it is. But it never was like that. It
was always I just felt prompted and said, you know,
I pray to receive promptings and I want you to

(14:52):
know it's gonna be okay. And a lot of times
people really touched and affected by that. And so I
think being in the temple being an ordnance worker was
a great opportunity to uplift and to be there by
just smiling, welcoming people, telling them that they're wonderful, you know,
whatever you do. It's just it's so wonderful to be

(15:15):
able to have the opportunity. And I feel like my
social circle of good influences grew too. I mean, just
being around all these people that spend hours and hours
in the temple each day and who come back week
after week was really inspiring to me and something that
I hope to keep up as I move up north.

(15:37):
I already have three appointments, one on the eighth, one
on the eleventh, and I think one on the sixteenth.
I don't know, but I'm gonna keep doing it. I'm
gonna keep at least going to the temple once a
week and not let not being an ordnance worker stop
me from going. Another thing that I want to talk about,
something that I've learned is women and the role of women,

(16:00):
and the priest did something that president, the president of
the Cedar City Temple said is he was talking to
us in a preparation meeting about how someone had told
a widow that it was so sad that she no
longer had the priest in her home, and he said,
that's not true. She has access to the priesthood too,

(16:20):
the power of the priest. It is still in her
home even though there is not a priested holder in
the home. And I know that priest died and the
women is a source subject for a lot of people.
Never I haven't really ever super struggled with that. It
just never has been a really big thing for me.
But I can see why it's been. It's concerning for

(16:41):
some people. I just feel like we each have our roles,
and women have different roles than men. And the priested
power is all about serving others and about being hands
to uplift by using the power and authority of God
to serve and bless others. And women get the wonderful

(17:03):
role of creating human life and being nurturers as God is.
So I got off topic. I still believe in roles
and everything, but I want to talk about women in
the priesthood, So sorry, I just wanted to talk about
how women have access to the priested too, and that
women can access priested keys through whatever callings they're given,

(17:26):
and that Heavenly Father has a very very important work
for us as women. And you may be a woman
or a man listening to this, but I just know
that we each have our role and as we turn
to Heavenly Father and we ask him for help and guidance,
and knowing what he wants for us, he will let that.
He will let us know. You know, ask and he

(17:47):
shall receive, knock and it will be opened unto you.
Heavenly Father obviously wants us to become the best people
that we can be, and in his time and in
his infinite omniscient wisdom, he will guide us and answer
our questions. Wow, I feel like I'm all over this place,

(18:11):
all over the place. I'm sorry. I wish this was
a little bit more organized, but my thoughts are kind
of all over the place. So sorry in advance. Well,
sorry as we go too. It's not just the sorry
in advance, so it's a sorry in past took Should
I edit all that out? Probably? Am I going to eh,
it's fine embrace and perfection. Right. This is why I

(18:32):
titled my podcast that so I can say that and
just let it be anyway. I have learned that have
they fought, that women have just as much access to
the priest died as men do, and that just because
we are not the bearers of the priest, it doesn't
mean that we don't have access to the priest died.

(18:54):
And I have a testimony of that and I am
grateful for that. In addition, when last thing is one
of the things that you get when you get endowed
in the temple is you get to wear garments. You
get to wear the garment of the Holy Priested. And
I have such a strong testimony of the garment and
I absolutely love it so much. First of all, it

(19:16):
helps me not shave TMI, but it's just true. But
also I love that it represents Jesus Christ and it
represents him covering us fully. The garment is called the
garment of the Holy priested, and so a lot of
times when people are like, you know, oh, I don't
have access to the or I don't have the priest,
and that takes me off, It's like, Okay, well, have

(19:38):
you been endowed? Okay, yes, Well don't you wear the
garment of the Holy Priested every day? Don't you put
that on you every day? And if you don't, how
come you know you're missing out? We learned that the
garment of the Holy Priested gives us greater access to
the Savior's power, mercy, protection, and strength. I might have

(20:02):
said those out of order, but there's like a certain
order that they were said in. But yeah, power, strength, mercy, protection,
Like that's incredible. The garment gives us greater access to
the Savior's power, greater access to his mercy, greater access
to his protection, greater access to his strength. Why wouldn't

(20:25):
you want that on all day every day? You know
what I'm saying anyway, So I just love that the
garment of the Holy priestod it is the temple garment,
And even though I am not a bearer of the priesthood,
I have access to the priest to the power of God.
And I think that's really cool. Okay, I think that

(20:48):
was mostly what I was going to talk about. Oh
one more thing, another thing that I've learned from serving
the temple, and this one's kind of interesting. So bear
with me. But I have learned that there is way,
like the sin is way less appealing. I'm not kidding,
and I'm not just like saying that, but I have

(21:08):
learned that firsthand that sinning is just less appealing to me,
Like it's not even it's not even appealing. Of Course
I still sin. Of course I'm not perfect. Of course
I make mistakes, but there's just like certain things that
you know, there used to be a sin or temptation
in and like maybe certain media or certain shows or

(21:31):
certain books or whatever that have you know, worldly things
in it. And I have found myself just not even
having an appetite for that, like not even caring to
even watch that, to or to read that. And not
that I watch crazy things, but like you know, horror

(21:52):
movies or thriller movies or gory movies or movies with
you know, sexual things in it, there's just less temptation,
there's less appeal. It's just not as appealing as it
used to be. And that has been wild to me,
Like it's crazy. You know, there's a lot of books nowadays,
books are so popular that have sexual scenes in them.

(22:13):
It's so popular nowadays, Like I swear every single book
has that in it, and there have been times when,
you know, I get to that part in the book
and I'm like, hey, you know, it's time to skip it,
and it's really hard to skip it. And now I
don't even read books with that in it because I don't, like,
I don't even want to come across it because it's
just not appealing. It. Like it's like I don't even

(22:34):
want to read it, you know, Like I don't know,
it's just been it's been wild to me. It's been
crazy to me. Yeah. Anyway, I hope that's not too
much of a TMI, but I felt like sharing that
there's just less of appeal for sin, and I have
learned that that has been really prevalent since I have
been an ordnance worker. There's also just so much more
peace in my life. Oh my gosh, so much more

(22:55):
peace in my life, so many more blessings. I genuinely
believe that when good things happened to me, it is
because I'm a Norrance worker. It's because I serve in
the temple. When when I was almost scammed out of
five hundred dollars in the venmo wouldn't work. Yeah, I know,
it's embarrassing for me to say that, but that Venmo
did not go through like five to six seven times.

(23:16):
I tried so hard to get it to go, and
it would not go. It kept saying air. And later
when I realized it was a scam, I was like,
oh my gosh, I did not lose five hundred dollars
because I serve in the temple, Like that's why. I know,
it's why. And I was really grateful for that. And
then in addition, I was really stressed about getting rid
of these couches and tables and things in my garage,

(23:37):
so stressed, and finally one day I posted them to
Facebook marketplace and I literally got rid of everything in
like a week. It might have been one of the things,
might have taken like two weeks, but yeah, I got
rid of everything in just a few days. And I
know without a doubt that serving in the temple has
led to blessings, and I think that's one of the reasons.
And so yeah, and maybe that's not why. Maybe people

(24:01):
on Facebook just wanted the things that I have, But
why not give credit to serving in the temple, you
know what I'm saying. Okay, I want to briefly talk
about some of my favorite moments from serving in the temple. Okay,
So there was this couple and it was a really
old couple. I Okay, first of all, I have learned

(24:21):
from people. Oh man, there are some people that come
to the temple that have every reason and every excuse
not to come, Like the Lord would totally understand if
they didn't come. When it's hard to dress themselves, when
it's hard to get around, when they have their breathing
machine with them, you know, like their oxygen machine, you

(24:42):
name it. There are so many reasons and excuses not
to come, and yet these people come. It's incredible, Like
it's hard for them to get around, and some of
them can barely walk, but they come. They come. They
could be sitting at home, been out their life, but
they come to the temple. And man, if that's not

(25:04):
me when I'm older, I'm gonna be disappointed in myself
and God will not be disappointed in me, because God
cannot get disappointed. That's a whole other topic. But something
I've been reading a book called Is God Disappointed in Me?
By Kurt Frankam. Anyway, not going to get into that,
but I hope that I am one of those older

(25:26):
people coming to the temple every single day, and I
hope that I'm one of those people just holding hands
with my husband. By the way, I'm totally single right now,
but just holding hands. Super old just come into the
temple every day or every week, because there are so
many people that that do that, and it's just incredible.
It's just incredible. Okay. Anyway, there was a couple that
was walking through the hall and they like quickly kissed

(25:51):
each other, like pecked each other really quick. And then
I didn't I saw it and thought it was adorable,
but didn't say anything. And I mean, it's fine to
kiss the temple. It's fine, and there's or whatever, there's
no role against it or whatever. But there's another ordinance
worker that like joked and they were like, hey, I
saw that, and the older gentleman said we've been caught

(26:14):
or something like that or he's like, oh, we got caught.
And it was the most adorable, cutest thing ever. I
don't know why old people are really cute, but they are, Okay,
and if it's a hot topic, then let's fight, because
I will stand by that, okay. Anyway, And then there
was another time where I was standing in the East
hall and another older couple came in and they were

(26:36):
holding hands and they just look so happy to be
there and so in love. And I had this thought
go through my mind, I'm going to have that someday,
Like that's going to be me someday. And it was
so tender because I heard the spirit say, yes, you will,
and it just made me feel so grateful because sometimes
I worry, you know, that I don't know I'm not

(26:58):
going to get married, or that I won't find someone,
and that's scary, it is. So it's been really comforting
to be in the temple and to see people they're
old and still wildly in love, and it makes me
just really happy, and so I'm really grateful for that moment.
Another favorite moment of mine when a lady pinched my cheeks.

(27:21):
That doesn't normally happen, that's only ever happened once, but yeah,
this lady came up to me and she pinched my cheeks.
She didn't like pinch them, but she like touched them.
You know. I was like, what the frick is happening.
I'm just smiled, and she just said the sweetest thing.
She just said that I was one of God's most
prized possessions, and it just was so sweet to me.

(27:42):
But yeah, that was hilarious when she did that. And
then there's another patron and every time she sees me,
she doesn't even know my name, and she's like learned
it a couple times and she forgets, but she always
says my dimples or my dimpled girl. So every time
she sees me, she's like, oh, it's my dimples or
my dimpled girl. And that lady's so funny. She has

(28:04):
no personal space and it's hilarious, like she gets right
up in your business. But yeah, she always smiles at me,
and she always says, don't listen to the liars. You
keep on it. You just like there's the world has
nothing to offer you, nothing to offer you. You stay strong,
like okay, well don't worry anyway. Oh and then other

(28:27):
favorite moments are just seeing patrons, having them excited to
see me. When I stay hi to a patron and
they're like, oh, you remember my name, that's always my favorite.
I have loved getting to know people. I feel like
getting to know patrons and learning little things about them's
been just super enjoyable. And then one of my favorite

(28:50):
things to do is to have my biggest smile all
the time. Just smile as big as I can at
different people and be as uplifting as I possibly can.
Once again, apologize for being all over the place, because
that was all over the place, all right, don't even
deny it. That was crazy. I wanted to be so
organized and I didn't, but that's all right. And then

(29:11):
I had a certain thing that I wanted to talk
about and then got way off topic. Yeah anyway, Okay,
so I'm gonna share just a couple quotes from President
Nelson and end with an invitation. I take that back.
I'm gonna share one scripture first. Okay. This is Job
thirty five eight, And I actually randomly flipped to this
when I was sitting in this Celester room, and I

(29:34):
read this verse and just loved it. And it says,
thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art, and
they righteousness may profit the son of man. And it
stood out to me when I read that for a
couple of reasons. First, I thought it was so tender
that I like randomly flipped there, and then it spoke
to me in relation to being a temple worker. Being

(29:56):
righteous has led me to work in the temple. And
if that isn't profit the son of Man and prophet
myself as well as son of Man being others, then
I don't know what is. You know what I'm saying.
And then also it just it spoke to me in
a general sense. As we are righteous, others are blessed too.
Our influence in people's life matters, and we can make

(30:19):
a big difference. And I read that when I was
sitting in this cluster room and just loved it. So
just wanted to share that with you really quick. Okay.
Quotes from President Nelson. So this is from Think Celestially
October twenty twenty three, and he said, when you make choices,
I invite you to take the long review an eternal view.
Put Jesus Christ first, because your eternal life is dependent

(30:42):
upon your faith in Him and in his atonement. It
is also depend upon your obedient to his laws. Obedience
paves the way for a joyful life for you today
and a grand eternal reward tomorrow. Whow that's fire, right,
it's fire. Don't even doubt it. Okay, don't even say

(31:04):
it's not, because it is okay, okay. This next one
is from the Lord Jesus Christ will come again from
October twenty twenty four, and he said, regular worship in
the temple will help us. In the House of the Lord,
we focus on Jesus Christ. We learn of him, we
make covenance to follow him. We come to know him.

(31:25):
As we keep our temple covenance, we gain greater access
to the Lord's strengthening power. In the temple, we receive
protection from the buffetings of the world. We experience the
pure love of Jesus Christ and our heavenly Father in
great abundance. We feel peace and spiritual reassurance in contrast

(31:46):
to the turbulence of the world. Here is my promise
to you. Every sincere seeker of Jesus Christ will find
him in the temple, will feel his mercy. You will
find answers to your most vexing questions. You will better

(32:07):
comprehend the joy of His gospel. This next quote is
from October twenty twenty two, focus on the Temple. President
Nelson said, I promise that increased time in the Temple
will bless your life in ways nothing else can that
is powerful. I hope you were picking up on this, Okay,

(32:30):
I know and have a testimony from literally serving in
the temple twice a week for almost a year now,
like ten months or so, that God loves us so much,
so much, and he just wants us to live with
him again, and he just wants us to spend time
with him, and he just wants us to reach our

(32:53):
greatest potential. And isn't it wonderful that He has blessed
us with buildings on the earth today where he resides.
They are his holy house, and I'm so grateful for them.
I know that this podcast is actually a tiny bit global,
not gonna lie. It's more often than not that people

(33:15):
listen in the United States, but every once in a
while globally. And I know that throughout the United States
temples are not as accessible as they are in Utah
five minutes ten minutes down the road. But I just
know that even if you can't make it every week
or every month or whatever, as long as you go

(33:37):
as much as you can, your life will be better.
And if you live seventeen twenty four hours away from
a temple, maybe days and days away from a temple,
I hope that you take the time to learn about
the temple and to ponder what you learn in the temple,

(33:57):
because I know that when we do that, our lives
are better. Seriously, I'm not just saying that, I genuinely
know that to be true. I'm going to miss serving
as an ornance worker. I'm going to miss being in
the temple twice a week, guaranteed at least eight hours.
And I'm going to miss everyone that I got to

(34:17):
meet and get to know. But I make a commitment
to you and to myself that I'm going to be
a dedicated patron no matter how busy I get, because
I recognize that the temple is where the Lord resides
and he wants us to be there. So I encourage
you and I invite you to go as often as

(34:38):
you can. Whether I understand there's financial constraints and live
constraints and things get busy, I get it, But do
your best to go as much as you can because
it will change your life and it will bring blessings
and wonderful things that nothing else can. President Nelson said
it himself. I believe that, and I know it to

(35:01):
be true, and I say these things in the name
of my son Jesus Christ. Amen, thank you so much
for listening. Don't forget to embrace imperfection by meaning satisfaction
and joy from the journey. I'm Kyra and this is
imperfectly broken. The podcast
