Se un tempo era il mare, con i suoi tempi, a dire agli esseri umani cosa si poteva mangiare oggi sono gli esseri umani a ordinare al mare le specie più desiderate. Il risultato? A livello globale, il 34,2% degli stock ittici è sovrasfruttato, mentre nel Mediterraneo questa percentuale sale addirittura al 78%.
