Speaker 1 (00:05):
It's no joke.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
When you choke cgat life back and without breath, they'll
be death cigat life back and goad life back and
life life back, life back, and.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Boom.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Welcome to the man in the arena. Today. We're drawing
inspiration from a classic tale of idealism and grit. Mister
Smith goes to Washington. Great old movie, you remember it,
A lone passionate man stepping into the political heart of
America to stand up for what he believes is right.
It's a timeless story about fighting for change in a
system built on bureaucracy. Fast forward to today, and Life
(00:48):
Act is writing its own chapter in that story. Mister
Lee and Life Fact goes to Washington in just a
couple of weeks. Lifeact is heading to Washington, d C.
Not for a White House tour or protest, but with
purpose and innovation in hand, but for meetings with the
US Patent and Trademark Office, ICE, Immigration, Customs Enforcement, and
(01:13):
the VA Veterans Administration to discuss how Life Fact can
make a national and let's say, worldwide impact. It's not
Hollywood fiction. It's real lives, real solutions, and real policy
on the table. Life Fact has now saved. Count them.
You guys know this over four thousand lives just that
(01:33):
we're reported. So go to lifefact dot net, use codemita
to get a discount and protect those you love. We
explore what's at stake, what this trip means for public
safety and innovation, and why life Acts journey to Washington
might just be the start of something historic and dare
we say, Arthur Lee epic epic.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
I think it's a prime example of the man in
the arena. You know, you watch We watched the news,
and we watched mister Wonderful, and I'm grateful that he
brings attention to it. It doesn't follow up, and it's
not like he says that next week I'm going to
go do something about it. He just tells you how
we're all getting screwed, and you know, goes on his way.
(02:15):
Once again. I appreciate the fact he brings it to light,
but in our show, it's about the real people and
the real consequences. We had the jump rope lady on
what was her name, Molly Wents? What's really anyway? I mean,
she was cool as hell, But the point was I
(02:35):
was doing a little math in my head between our
knockoffs and hers. It's probably one hundred and twenty us
jobs that were lost. And once again, it's not that
we can't make it. It's not that it costs more. It's
just that the you know, it just gets stolen and
we get put out of work. But well, I think
you got missed the three thousand, right, Yeah, And I
(02:57):
think it's kind of a cool shift we get. Come
on early in the show, changing.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Things up a little bit, keeping everybody on their toes,
including Bobby, keep him on his toes. Ordinarily we hear
from mister three thousand at the end of the show,
but why not, now that we've passed four thousand lives
saved worldwide, mix it up a little bit and introduce
to you the nation Life Fact Nation. Mister three thousand,
Ray preby.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
We evening men in the arena. How are we doing
on this fine day?
Speaker 3 (03:33):
What miss the three thousand again?
Speaker 5 (03:36):
Why am I three thousand? Well, let's tell the story
real quick.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Love to do this.
Speaker 5 (03:40):
Why am I three thousand? I saved my little girl
maya number three thousand to three thousand saved reported Save
for Life act on a Florida road while driving home
from a birthday party. And now, folks, we are over
four thousand saves and it was just and again here
(04:01):
here's a little numbers game for you. One hundred and
ninety seven days ago, I saved my daughter with Life Back.
One hundred and ninety seven days later, one thousand, one
thousand saves in one hundred and ninety seven days just a.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
Day pay is right?
Speaker 1 (04:21):
The numbers, let's trying to figure stuff out.
Speaker 5 (04:24):
Absolutely unbelievable. So Arthur, God bless you, God bless this device,
God bless everybody at Life Back and everybody that has
a hand in this. There are so many people worldwide
that are part of Life Back and setting the word
and just just hats off to all of you because
(04:44):
this is going to get bigger. There's going to come
a time when we do five thousand in one year.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Yeah, baby, well said. And you mentioned international from a
garage in Massapequa and the brain of Arthur to over
thirty countries saving a life. Oh that is life crazy.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
We had what we did you get this scoop on
this morning?
Speaker 1 (05:08):
Ray?
Speaker 4 (05:09):
How many countries we had this morning?
Speaker 3 (05:12):
I did not get that international day we have?
Speaker 5 (05:15):
Give it to me. What do we got?
Speaker 4 (05:16):
I woke up to Canada, UK in Australia. Wow, and
then today so we had the UK.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Today, UK is well established. The Bannigan family brought early
and including the first save ever yeah with life back
in twenty sixteen in a retirement home assistant living facility. So,
but some of these other countries interesting? I heard Iceland
with a Costco in a Costco. Didn't know Costco was
(05:46):
in But any Costco warehouse you going to worldwide? Yeah,
Iceland isn't in play for bills?
Speaker 4 (05:53):
What are we buying Iceland?
Speaker 1 (05:55):
We should anything with a land, greenland.
Speaker 5 (06:00):
Anything is possible these days, guys, anything is possible. But
while without further ado, why don't we let Bobby roll
that beautiful footage?
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Yeah, baby, here we go. We get a weekly count.
I'm pretty preev I'd save.
Speaker 6 (06:16):
Fool another one already two four two thousand four.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
Twenty four total, So we smashed right through the four
thousand lives. We were just just this.
Speaker 5 (06:29):
Week alone, this week forty one saves since May second
forty one saves just unbelievable numbers. And and they're gonna
get bigger and better in every day that we go.
So and again two hundred days. We have one thousand,
twenty three saves in two hundred days. It's just it's
(06:50):
absolutely amazing. Since October twentieth, since my little girl, two
hundred days, one thy twenty three saves. It's just it's
it's almost uncomprehendible how fast this is growing.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
It's just, you know, it's amazing, overwhelming good news. Yeah,
we're amazed. We're overwhelmed with the amount of good news,
with the amount of lives save. So that's cool, and
this new Pope, but this is more important.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Yeah too. I think we're going to be on sooner
than we are normally for a tape show, going out
on the weekend into La Houston, Orlando, and here in
the Great States of New York. But we just learned
today and it's not going to be news in a
in a week or so. But new Pope, Gray, what
do you think.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
First first American Pope. Yeah, definitely a big change. Hopefully
everything goes smoothly. I think it will. I think it's
going to be good.
Speaker 6 (07:50):
I like doing the weather at the beginning of the show.
You like this portion of like whether the show your highlight?
Speaker 5 (08:00):
I got an awesome highlight. This is this happens to
be number four thousands. So this is the.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
First story, and this is an interesting story.
Speaker 5 (08:12):
This is an interesting story, So here we go. It's
a little bit lengthy, but it's worth every bit of it.
A ninety four year old male and Oregon choked. An
Oregon choked on sagam potatoes. The Heimlich was performed by
a caregiver, but was unsuccessful. Life back was utilized four times,
dislodging the obstruction. His color from blue came back immediately
(08:37):
and he was breathing.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
Well.
Speaker 5 (08:39):
Here's the details from the caregiver on the device. I'm
a caregiver for this ninety five year old wife who
has dementia. Just two weeks ago, the family hired two
caregivers to take over when I leave. Yesterday, when I left,
the other home care aid was in the house. The
(09:00):
gentleman started choking. I was still in the driveway, and
she came running out to my car, saying, mister p
is choking. Not to be confused with me. Thank god
it wasn't me. But here we go. I had previously
bought several life backs and recommended that the family purchased
one as well. I ran back into the house grabbed
(09:22):
their unit and administered it four times. A large piece
of steak and potato came right out. That's why mister
P sent me a beautiful text, thank you for saving
my life in my requiner and read a book and
not work tonight. He is he still works at ninety
(09:45):
four years old every night and knows.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
How to text exact.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Steak of potatoes.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
My kind of guy.
Speaker 5 (09:54):
That's that's what keeps them going.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
And I understand from the depiction or the telling the
story that the wife now she has dementia, and as
a husband, I can only really appreciate this part or
relate to the part where she just continued with the
with the meal like nothing was happening.
Speaker 5 (10:10):
Yeap, she she did. That was one of the details.
Where As he's chokeing, she just continued eating, not recognizing
the urgency of the situation.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
Horrible would have been to lose him and when she
needs the most, and he's courageous enough to be there
for her as she goes into the darkness. And that's
what a real man does, that's what a husband does.
And we saved tip and that's a beautiful thing and
they got it because of her. So there's another beautiful
god wing for four thousand. We got Ray from three thousand,
(10:41):
and we got this beautiful story one.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Thousand and two thousand. We should go look him up.
I'm serious. Yeah, commentary written all over.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
As a matter of fact, I will get those details
from Donna and that.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
Yeah, so what's that? The ray the work.
Speaker 7 (10:54):
Let's get back to Rick being able to relate to that,
just watching. Oddly enough, we're at a time, so thank
you so much. You be listening to rape preview mister
three thousand, We thank you so much. And we're going
to be back with Arthur cal Wilf.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
You're gonna get good Douglas laugh.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Here is ohay for God's sake. Yes, gotta make.
Speaker 5 (11:16):
Hey, don't cut me off yet. I gotta give my
my my final words, my my words of wisdom here
life back. Far better to have it and never need
it than to need it and not have it, true
peace of mind. The life you save could be your own.
God bless them. Had a great evening.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
Yes, yeah, thanks for reminded on that, and we're going
to be back with more man in the arena.
Speaker 8 (11:41):
After this message, she started to choke on a piece
of candy.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
She wasn't breathing, then.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Reached for the life back and it saved her. She
could have easily died that day. A life back saved
her life.
Speaker 5 (12:07):
What I would say is, don't need a life back
and not have it. Have a life back and hopefully
never need it.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
Recently, the American Red Cross has added anti joking devices
as an option when standard protocol fails or is not feasible.
Speaker 6 (12:22):
Go to life back dot net or called eight seven
seven five four three three eight two two.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
Discussing weekend plans, and we're back on The Man in
the Arena.
Speaker 4 (12:33):
Well, weekend plan in soccer, it's a very life back.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
It's very important to talk about.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Did you have fun? I had great, Yes, it was
I thought the kid to be a little more skilled
at the halftime shootout.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Yes, we have some work to do.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
Shows you where we get us some snipers. Yeah, come on.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
So we've been talking about, well we talked to Ray Preby,
but on tonight's episode of The Man in the Arena
we're talking about life back, going to wash and taking
on a number of departments.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
Well, we've taken on the world in this thing for
the last thirteen years, and as you know, our show
grows and we get input from mister Wonderful and Fox
on this dilemma, but we're the guys in the arena.
Like before the break, I said, Okay, that's a hundred
jobs between us and Molly, and we should have her
(13:24):
back on. She knows a lot more about the depth
of the problem.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Creator of her own jump rope, but horribly horrible story,
great story of coming up with this product and doing
very well, and she had employed you know, many folks
in the country people, and it was all taken away
by a portion of our government that's not doing the
right thing. Well.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
But that's that's why we're in the arena, and we're
going to Washington. We're going to go meet the Patent Office,
and we're going to meet Ice to talk about now
and the Veterans Administration is huge, which we'll talk about
with CJ. But the real key to why I believe
one we have to do it. You know, it's off
for us. They're selling dangerous medical devices. We met with
(14:11):
the Balance and Nature guys, same thing. They get knocked
off and then who knows what's in that stuff? You know?
So I think if we were to eat the elephant,
what if we got illegal products. Take it down, right,
Let's start there, and then we could work into you know,
patent infringement and uh, you know, copyright and all these
(14:34):
other horrible things. But I think that the simplest way
to make it black and white is Amazon has to
stop selling illegal Chinese products.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
There again, let's.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
Start there, right, So to me, that should be twenty
minutes with some guy going like this on the computer,
point point point okay, legal, right, it's illegal. So we
don't have to fight about patent. I don't have to
fight about copyright. I don't have to fight by trademark.
They have the ability to say that's your problem. But
(15:05):
it's a bigger problem. And I don't think the awareness
is about how Amazon created this huge problem.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
You know, too bad. It's not Elon Musk behind Amazon,
and it's Bezos. Because someone like Elon I think would
do the right thing.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
I think so too, But I'm not going to you
know what, I need to sit with Bezos. Give me
ten minutest care, I'll meet him on the yacht.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Reach out to Jock Bezons.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
We discussed the problems that Amazon on the jot on
his plane.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
I don't care spaceship with shot.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
But here's the thing his I'm not even blaming him, Like,
do they know how bad this is? And I was
just thinking about this on the way here, since I
don't follow any rules. All right, there's no accountability, right,
they could kill someone.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
What are you gonna do?
Speaker 4 (15:58):
So that the commercial on the hose guy saying it
doesn't really matter. But I wonder if Amazon is getting
stuck a lot too where they make a bunch of
stuff because it's very cannibalistic, right, you make the product,
you put your energy into it, you get it successful,
(16:18):
they jump in, Well, they basically are killing the host
because eventually you can't market and you can't sell it,
and you go off the market. Now the marketing's gone,
so the sales drop. Tanna doesn't really care because they
just steal the next thing. Right, But does Amazon get
stuck with inventory? Does Amazon have collection problems? They may
(16:40):
have a problem too, which would certainly help, right.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
And we promote our website to avoid some of this.
For the folks out there listening and want to protect
their family with the original life fact, we also are available,
but it's more risky for someone to get a life
fact for a family to get their life fact when
they go to out of habit or just what they
would normally do in a shopping experience, go to Amazon.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
Well a lot of now with the marketing. They go
there because they see us on a commercial or on Facebook,
or they see a life Saved with Life Act and
then you see another product and it's cheaper, right, but
that so they'll switch it and buy that. Now, the
problem is that's not regulated. I mean, we've bought millions
(17:29):
of them. They fall apart, they glue. Lenny bought one
and it's like this contraption looks like a bazooka. It's ridiculous.
But that's the canibalization.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
Right.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
We cannot continue to pay our FDA, be FDA compliant,
have liability insurance, do testing and monitor ourselves and our successes,
and market when you go to Amazon. Because if you
go to Amazon, buy a life back, life's good, right.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
We do that.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
We sell quite a bit. What percentage do you think
it's like fifty to fifty or more.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
Wow, So a person going to Amazon trying to get
a life back, it's a fifty chance that you're not
going to get about Oh.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
I'm sorry, No, it's ourselves about fifty percent our website,
fifty Amazon. It's it's way better meaning, but the problem
is not it used to be you couldn't tell. Right
Now you kind of tell right, we've got if you've
got a fake yeah, well you know you're buying a
life back or a vital back, or schmuck back or
(18:30):
jerk back.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
Yeah, the schmuck fact I never cared for.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
No, it's really not good. Would you go with the
schmock back?
Speaker 3 (18:37):
It's horrible.
Speaker 6 (18:38):
At point is you play a fake rolex on twenty
third Street that falls apart. It's just a watch, you
know it was. It was a knockoff. You buy a
fake one of the if someone dies, someone jokes to
death because it's a piece of junk. I mean, that's
you got to look at it that way.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
And that's why my thought is the man in the
arena and we go to see these offices to try
and get help is to use the law. Right, We'll
start with the law, and then we could get into
bigger protections of making an American patent worth something again,
because the problem is it's kind of worthless.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
We've talked about this before. The patent that you I
mean it was a proud moment. You described it as
a proud moment because we grow up. And then when
you found out number one, that it was worthless. But
also the frustration that must have you must have experienced
when somebody else number one got a patent for your
(19:31):
same products. There could have been a search done which
took five minutes and it just wasn't done. And also
the length of time. I mean, it's frustration upon frustration.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
How deep is the problem is what we're going to
persevere to find out. But I mean this show is
holding this accountable. Right we talked about and how we're
doing something. When we come back, we're going to tell
people what happened, you know. And I do believe that
the you know, miss Wonderful took way you know a
jerk back and said this thing is on Amazon and
and it's illegal, not in general terms of they steal
(20:03):
our intellectual property. Then you go back and do your
job and get your paycheck, and all of us people, me,
Molly and everyone else that's affected by this. We're in
the battle. So we're gonna go take the battle. And
like I said, if I made you know a sunglass holder,
all right, it is what it is. But one these
(20:24):
things will kill you. And two somebody's got to fight.
Someone's got to stand up and get their butt kicked
and go down there and bring this the light and
deal with this problem. You know, not just say you know, well,
there's still an intellectual property to the two two billion.
Back to you, Fred, what the hell is that do?
Just go and pump you in the face. See what happens.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
You know, Molly and her story, when you hear it,
it's almost because it was a jump rope. It was
almost one of those things where you go, oh, you know, okay,
well they stole a jump rope. But when you hear
about the lives that were in act, her time, effort,
her life.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Money, have a million dollars, yeah, and.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
She had the courage to take it all the way
to the end. We say, you know, maybe if I
fought long and hard enough and at the end they went,
then we don't think so invalid invalidated.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
Not not only are you not successful in your argument,
we're going to invalidate your patent, so penalized for trying
to have the government do the right thing. And we're
going to meet, among others, the mission to Washington which
is coming up in a couple of weeks. The US
patent and trade offs different from the board that she
talked about. What do you hope? I mean, what's the
(21:38):
what's the optimism versus skepticism about getting something done?
Speaker 4 (21:43):
Two things? One is I would love to say how
did this person get the exact patent? I love someone
to tell me how that happens too. I would like
to know that make them more aware? Do they know
that since Amazon came into fruition, then that's what's killed
the pattern for one hundred and whatever twenty years it
(22:03):
worked right because if you made it, I could sue you.
You're here me, we go to court, we fight it out.
China invalidated that. So maybe there's got to be different. Yeah, look,
times change, right, we had an at track. We don't
have that anymore. So maybe the patent off Billy Joe
(22:29):
glasshouses all the way to Lake George seven hours. But
the so the it's a communication and saying are you
aware that, why it's no good anymore? Why we're all
saying it's worthless, And to see if there's a plan
or a way to work together to make it useful, right,
because it's eventually the long term effect, who's going to
(22:53):
make anything? We fail yourself and then it gets stolen.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
What I meant in hearing from you is because you've
met recently with doctor Ben Carson, and other things that
come up in the conversation about Life Act aren't intended
to be political or divisive. No, but everything in Washington
seems to be. But I think the overall atmosphere, do
you agree, is more favorable to having common sense?
Speaker 4 (23:20):
I think so, and I think that's why it's good
for he to do it. He testified before the committee yesterday.
It was amazing. That guy's amazing, doctor Ben Carson, and
he was the you know, these are not topics that
people want to hear, you know, but he addressed the
culture of poverty, the fact that you know, we have
(23:40):
broken families, but they're kind of rewarded indirectly with our system,
and he is his one of his big philosophies, which
I agree, is the power of the family. That you know,
we were losing dads, and he addressed it with such
eloquence and common sense that if you're incentified, like if
(24:05):
you and I are married, we get less money than
if I'm single, so more kids. Yeah, and we've almost
created a system that is anti what we know.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Not almost we have we have yes, three decades.
Speaker 4 (24:19):
Yeah, But I mean it was when he said it,
I was like, did we took this long to figure
that out? And you know, he's brilliant and I believe
he is courageous enough to go and try and change things.
But to your point, maybe we can get common sense
back in. Maybe we can address the fact that it's
a different world that the patent office got to, you know,
(24:40):
get up to speed with this. Look, this is all
working together, Like Bezos was sitting there in the head
of the patent Office. I don't think we'd be fighting, no,
you know, and Amazon's not going to lose money, right,
so let's fix it, right, And it's not even like
mift guy. It's more Teamwark, right. Dealing with the FDA
(25:05):
is kind of scary, right because it kind of tell
you everything. And I think we need to change our
relationship with government where we actually talk and work together.
So it's not like that's a government. Oh god, ron Hide,
they're gonna shut us down, they're gonna attack us, they're
gonna put us out of business. It should be more
(25:26):
what's up, let's fix it.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
We'll see.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
Yeah. So I want to talk more about the department's
individually Life Act will be visiting. We've drawn the comparison,
or at least I did in the beginning about mister
Smith goes to Washington. Classic movie now Life Act. And
it's interesting because this one life saving product, over four
thousand Live Save worldwide, touches on so many different departments
(25:53):
or is affected by so many different departments and legislations.
And what's the word that they always talk about, removing
some of the bureaucracy or the regulation.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
Cut the red tape.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Yeah, And just just before the show, we talked to
a woman who's what was she working in?
Speaker 1 (26:11):
She's federal government.
Speaker 4 (26:13):
We're talking to the audience for the it's packed house.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
No but amazing connection. And it's just, you know, I
saw the light bulb go off in her head. She's like,
you know, she wasn't familiar, but then said, you know,
have you paid for this? What was the one department
customs do you know anything about? And I'm asking on
the spot unscripted customs. She said there was a simple
thing and then they will fight for a couple.
Speaker 4 (26:39):
Of oh yeah, yeah, So I know all about that.
But once again there's a lot of I did this,
I was a man in the arena. Still are, Yeah,
But the difference is, you know, there's a lot of
tricks to get around Customs. You got to get on
the list. You have to have the manufacture so that
you can you know what pull they have, like fifteen
(27:00):
it's in Chinese. And they also can miscoded, meaning they
say they're bringing in a code hangar and they're bringing
in a medical device. It can be done. And that's
part of what we're going to do with ICE because
once again formulating this from the ground up. These are illegal, right,
so I should be able to call the police and
(27:21):
they should go to Amazon and pull all this crap out.
They should go with a trailer and dump it. It's
against the law. I'm calling a cop, So it's not
even we're asking for enforcement, not a rule, a law,
not a thing. This is illegal. Enforce the law. Same
with and we'll meet with Customs. But it's tricky because
(27:42):
they're tricky and they make it from different places and
they put different harmonized codes. So it's a lot to
get to that point. But we're going to do it
and we can if we can get on the list,
like the list, but basically where you get inspected, it
could help, It could help. But there's hundreds of them,
(28:02):
so it's that's a tough one.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
Yeah. Everyone talks about whack them all.
Speaker 4 (28:06):
Well, whack them all is Amazon. You whack them there
and then and once again, look I'm an America compete.
That's great. Go through the FDA, make sure it's safe
and effective, make sure it's different than what we created.
God bless you. I mean, the more we get out,
the more lives we save. And quite frankly, I wouldn't
be so upset if they wouldn't kill you and they
(28:26):
made them good right. Mike grow said that it's kind
of common, and I said it would be if they
made it good enough, they wouldn't kill someone. There's one
that will kill.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
You, no bueno.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
You listen to Arthur Lee, that's when you think, you
know it's a life and death thing. You hope they
listen to you in Washington.
Speaker 4 (28:43):
Well that's why I gotta try.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (28:45):
I mean, if there was a fire hose that they
were like, oh, we got a cheaper one and it's
not putting out fires and houses are burning and people
are dying, they would change, right. But you know you
hear about this in the military too, where they sometimes
they don't use the best things. They try to save money.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
It's crazy to me.
Speaker 4 (28:58):
Yeah, well they get knocked off too, right, I mean
we get inferior products that are in there and which.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
Is like and then people die. I mean, I guess.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
And in a way of I don't know why I
was tasked with this impossible thing to say, four thousand
lives and maybe I'm tasked to go fight this battle.
But to bring it back to the man in the arena,
We're going to report what happened. And she was very
Molly was very clear on what happened. I've never heard
that before in my life.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
The p TAB, the Patent Trial Arbitration Board.
Speaker 4 (29:30):
I have heard there's still are intellectual property back to you, Bill.
What the hell good does that do? So let's go,
let's go and yeah, we're going to swing come back
and tell people.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
Yeah, Life that goes to Washington will be back after
this message.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
Protect your family by Life back now.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
Thank you Dan.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
That was us over ten years ago.
Speaker 9 (30:09):
Now, Life fact is responsible for saving over four thousand
lives from choking.
Speaker 4 (30:13):
And the time it takes you to pick up the
phone and call another life could be saved.
Speaker 10 (30:17):
The Life Acts saved my life in one two seconds.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
Protecting families has always been our mission. I'm sure you
love your family like I love my daughter. Do a
soul of favor and get your own life back now.
Speaker 6 (30:29):
Go to Life Aact dot Net or call eight seven
seven Life Back Order now.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
Yep, Hey, we're back on the man in the arena.
I'm Rick Thatcher. Have been throughout the show show in
the city. I'm talking to Arthur Lee and he's telling
me about Pat O'Rourke doing a show in the city,
and I want to learn so much more about it.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Pat, what are you doing twenty third?
Speaker 6 (30:51):
It's that your friend May twenty seconds, thirty second, your
friend Mizzilly. This club down on twenty third street. Met
no no, actually a soccer player.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
Matt Mozilla, great goalkeeper. I think it's his brother that
owns the comedy shop.
Speaker 6 (31:06):
But it's the comedy shop. It's yeah, the name will
come to me, but it's I'm doing.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
It all right.
Speaker 4 (31:11):
You gotta tell us more. I want to go more.
Speaker 3 (31:13):
About that, you know Washington. Yes, we're gonna be watched.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
Sorry, I can't go to Washington.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
You know who's gonna be with us. Who's gonna be
with us The Life Attingent in Washington. We're gonna be
joined by C. J. Douglas. Yes, my man, Colonel Christopher Douglas.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
We call them c J.
Speaker 4 (31:30):
Rus up remotely from up but we are.
Speaker 3 (31:33):
How are you tonight, Hey, great to see you all.
I'm doing well.
Speaker 4 (31:39):
Well, I see you too, man, Thank you. We're talking
now about our meeting of.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
The v A.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
Sure, absolutely, we're We've mentioned it before in the beginning,
but just as a reminder folks just tuning in or
or want to be refreshed, We're going to Washington. Life
Act is going to Washington, taking it to the streets.
We're meeting potentially with Ice, We're meeting with Patent Office,
and of course the v A. And uh, Colonel Douglas
(32:06):
was brought on to be a special envoy, absolutelysion.
Speaker 4 (32:11):
He brought on a hero to take on a mission.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
So he was introduced to us, and you know, lengthy introduction,
but hey, this guy's a hero, Uh what he's done
for this country, and uh, we're just blessed an honor
to have you on our side.
Speaker 6 (32:29):
And skilled with a T shirt cannon.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
Yeah, we could use you. At the soccer game, Rick.
Speaker 6 (32:36):
Almost killed someone again GAMEFJ.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
Just put a ledged in front of that. I was
completely safe and within the guidelines. But when we had
CJ involved in the T shirt launching at Brian Kilmead's
live event in Jacksonville, Florida, I never felt because there's
a lot going on, a lot of moving parts, but
I never felt so at ease and safe about what
we were doing.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
I mean neither he was adjusting it. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
the guy.
Speaker 4 (33:04):
Look he's good at saving veterans and shooting the T
shirt cabin man. We got the right guy.
Speaker 6 (33:09):
We shut our eyes, ready, fire aim boom.
Speaker 4 (33:12):
Well, CJ, you guys went down to Florida, right and
you made what was that good? Filled people in on
that a little bit.
Speaker 10 (33:19):
And so that was a meeting with the v A
down in Florida with retired Marine Major General Hartzel and
his chief of staff to talk with him about you know,
the why you know, I got involved and as far
as assisting veterans based off of the conversations with you, Arthur,
(33:40):
and and the importance and really the overlooked veteran community
and I mean he was a static. He had his
own personal story to to share, which is which I
know we're gonna looking to cover at a at a
later date, but but you know, he he got it
was and so it was a great discussion. RiPP did
(34:02):
a fantastic job of working, you know, give it a
demo and answering questions. But but yeah, I mean it was.
It was a great It was a great meeting.
Speaker 4 (34:12):
We just just a preface for people that are listening
that a person in the wheelchair may have no chance
in a choking emergency because there is no protocol. There's
no Red Cross American Heart. Red Cross recently said suction
is authorized for use when the Heimlich is not feasible,
(34:34):
so war doesn't work, which yeah, you know, but I
think I think, you know, and it goes back. I
was on Laughter Saves Lives last week and I remember
wheeling the World War two guys down to the laft
Of show and that's when it hit me. And I
combined that my head with the tragedy and McDonald's with
a guy in a wheelchair choked, that no one did
anything because they didn't know what to do.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
Or the kid in the school of bus. Yeah, and
the dream I.
Speaker 4 (34:55):
Felt there was a god went no CJ with someone
who's led these men, he's been with them, he's lost man,
he's seen them injured. That this is a way to
bring it to light, you know. And you know we
talk about it being an eighty A violation, which it is,
but that's not really the driving factor. Right, Yes, the
(35:16):
federal gunment should a buie by the eighty A, but
if you boil it down man in the arena, the
World War two guy that I rolled down and told
me the story and CJ's stories about the men he
served with, they deserve a chance in the choking emergency.
And once again, this is not you know, a huge thing.
(35:37):
Obey eighty A federal law, but who cares give an option?
What's the big deal? So hopefully we're going down to
who we meet with in Washington.
Speaker 10 (35:50):
I think we're holding that for the next episode. But
what I will say is.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
Charge we're not just going let's just say this, we're
not going to Washington to meet with local Uh. Well,
we decided a while ago and and you know your
direction was, you know last year, it was you know,
over the top. So Heidi has done you know, marvel,
(36:17):
marvelous work in Orlando v ah Albany, and she's doing
a continued work with the San Francisco. I think it's
a simulation lab, but we thought, why not utilize some
relationships and connections to go and get the endorsements of
leadership in all of these departments and make connections and
(36:38):
most people when they like uh, Major General Hartzel, the
light bulb goes off. He told us an emotional story
that had both CJ and I almost in tears, totally unexpected,
not of men that he served with, but of his
son who suffered from a disability, had this near tragic
choking event. And told us reddit from the book, and
(37:01):
he has a foundation, and he said that's his besides
the wonderful work he does in Florida. VA talked in
very emotional terms about his mission is this son's foundation,
Evan Hartzel Foundation, and and CJ alluded to it more
to come because although he's very busy, he has Major
General Hartzel had every intention of at some point sharing
(37:24):
the story because it's incredible. And he says, you know,
I think CJ said it before I get it. So
when we go to Washington together. Yeah, we're not. Yeah,
we're not going down to uh. I think I said earlier.
Take you know, be involved in a protest or something.
We're meeting with the leadership so that we can when
we go to all of these I mean, this is
(37:44):
a very small, passionate team that is taking on this
monumental desk of the world, everywhere where food is consumed.
Speaker 4 (37:54):
So again, but CJ is a god win too. We
have a we need a champion, right, and who could
be a better champion? Won the federal government obeying federal law.
But that aside, these people gave their bodies for our country, right,
(38:15):
So regardless of federal law, they deserve chance, and they
should not they should not be.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
Have nothing.
Speaker 4 (38:25):
It's not right.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
That's a good point.
Speaker 3 (38:29):
Hero.
Speaker 10 (38:29):
If you go back just in history, when you you
had President Lincoln say to care for the for him
who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow
and his orphan you know more. You know up to
date now inclusive, you know of all of our veterans
to fulfill President Lincoln's promise to care for those who
(38:50):
have served in our nation's military and for their families,
caregivers and survivors. I mean that's you know, the current
vision of the VA when we talk about this. You know,
everything that you've said to this point goes right in
line with that vision. So that's why it makes complete
sense to uh, you know, to to now to bring
(39:13):
this to the VA. To the why it's important to
the bring it to the VA, but also Arthur, for
your other I mean, hey, let's you know, transition briefly,
because it it goes with what I'm saying as far
as care for the veterans. You know, the quality control right,
the patent process is there for a reason. It isn't
just a protecting intellectual property. It's also you know, we're
(39:34):
ensuring some level of quality control. So really this comes
down to education, legislation, and enforcement and education is so
people understand why life back is the tool of choice
when it comes to saving lives.
Speaker 4 (39:49):
You know, I was thinking though too along with God,
like you know, you're you're a military hero. These are
military heroes that that did this. But here's the thing
where it's once again in my mind or my heart,
they were once again saving our country. Because if the
military did it right and said look, these men and
(40:10):
women deserve this, it's against an eighty A violation. Everyone
should take care of people with a disability if they
once again led us into battle right, Because if the
eighty A did it, I mean, if the military did
it right, we cure that that Lincoln quote that we
are we are obligated as humans to make sure they're okay.
(40:33):
And they gave for us. They could also lead the
way so that every school would they now have an
option for their children with disabilities. And it's just it's
so aligns that once again our heroes are leading us
into battle to do the right thing and to win.
And this is not a twenty year thing. It's it's
(40:54):
pretty simple. It's a letter.
Speaker 3 (40:56):
Can they get this? Yeah, And we're sure we're going
to be right back with more of the man in
the arena. We're talking to Arthur Lee, Pat O'Rourke, and
of course CJ. Douglas. We'll see you on the other side.
Speaker 9 (41:20):
I was in the living room when I heard my
son Carter, who was two AA at the time. I
looked over and I saw him grabbing for his face
and his rope. I grab a life back. I put
the mask on his face and placed push Paul. The
life back dislodged the ice cube from his airway, and
he started crying the most amazing sound I've ever heard
(41:40):
in my entire life. Please protect your family, get a
life back.
Speaker 3 (41:51):
Hey, we're back on the Man in the arena.
Speaker 1 (41:52):
Right, Molly Mets is the jump roper? Thank you?
Speaker 3 (41:55):
Molly Mets was the jump roper? The email? Is that
a horn? Was that a car horn? We just heard?
Speaker 1 (42:04):
That's pretty cool?
Speaker 3 (42:05):
Sorry part of me new sponsors. So I have been
in touch via email, but we know that a lot
of times we speak to guests on the Man in
the Arena, Woman in the Arena, and we know this
isn't the last time. You know, we are now connected
with her, and we're gonna be thinking about her and
(42:25):
her business.
Speaker 4 (42:27):
Back on next week.
Speaker 1 (42:28):
I think so about that, because I'm going.
Speaker 4 (42:32):
To put together you know, we got the patron, we
got the trademark, we got the veterans, and we have
an outside shot at the Justice Department.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
I would speak before you go, That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (42:41):
So we'll do it live. I'll bring my folder for
each one of these divisions and we'll ask her advice.
It'd be kind of coolat let's let's be transparent. That's
a big thing nowadays.
Speaker 3 (42:52):
Absolutely, let's do transparency. It's a big thing.
Speaker 4 (42:55):
We know we can't make Gumby disappear.
Speaker 3 (42:57):
Yeah, we're already diverse, right, we're diverse. We're diverse. I joined,
I think we're still joined by C. J. Douglas, Colonel
Christopher Douglas, Holtonston, New York Marathon Hero, Bricklheart, and Fist,
and he's joining us in our mission. Life Fact goes
to Washington. Now, I wanted to hear from you. Of
(43:18):
course we're you and I targeting the Veterans Administration, but
I wanted to hear about the I was interested because
Ice I saw on the things to do list when
we go to Washington, just thinking about the application, because
you know, it's it's unheard of that ICE would want
to be prepared to and be concerned about the safety
(43:41):
of people that they were dealing with right now.
Speaker 6 (43:43):
They don't want ben pr Yeah, it's obvious. Yeah, something
happens to one of them. They want to make sure
you can.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
Do everybody to say, we got to remove some of
these thought processes that make everything black, you know, black
and white, or one side versus the other. I don't
think a choking victim has Uh well.
Speaker 4 (44:00):
Lea CJ had some experience in in international inbound CJ.
Is that Rick told me briefly that you had some
experience with import or or monitoring that.
Speaker 3 (44:15):
Well, certainly law enforcement we talked as far as unders investigator,
but but those kind of important but uh.
Speaker 6 (44:24):
Yeah, well that's far different illegal import, legal immigrants.
Speaker 1 (44:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (44:29):
But yeah, but as far as I mean and off
the off the check offline, what which which discussion we
were having, so that uh sort of to refresh my memory.
But you know, but with that, you know, you're as
I was saying before, as far as you know, education,
legislation and enforcement, the enforcement pieces that is really really
what you're looking at here is because I mean there's
(44:51):
already well there needs to be better legislation to ensure
the quality control. Uh so that in this case, like
life back is, which is the the tool of choice,
remains that. But then the enforcement where ICE and others
would be ensuring that you know, these you know, these
non life back versions that are not a preferred option
(45:14):
don't get into the hands and then you know, don't
fail at a time of crisis.
Speaker 4 (45:18):
Well, there's more than one way to protect our country, right,
look at our backdrop.
Speaker 1 (45:23):
Now we're doing the news.
Speaker 10 (45:27):
It just switched right.
Speaker 1 (45:30):
That's right, we're all radio.
Speaker 3 (45:31):
On the man in the arena. We're flexible. And for
those listening, whether you're in La, Houston, Orlando, or New York,
just to let you know we are adapting, we're overcoming,
we're dealing with a lack of a backdrop. We normally
we do this show in front of the Hall of
Saves and we do it with the inspiration of the
fourth over four thousand lives that have been saved with
Life back. I'm going to take this opportunity to say,
(45:54):
one second, CEJ, go to life bac dot net. We
talked a lot about listen, go to lifect net and
use the code m I T A. I know CJ
has a code that he wants to promote, but for
this purpose, m I T A. Get a discount, protect
those you love, and get the original. Because we talk
a lot about avoiding the knockoff. Somebody's getting a call.
(46:15):
But CJ, I cut you off.
Speaker 10 (46:17):
No, I'm glad you made that. You made that point.
What I was just going to say was, you know,
I think you know this and the and the gray green.
We're now appearing is really is a good segue for
chapter seventeen, right, I mean.
Speaker 3 (46:32):
Going to party? Can't is a lie? Standing eight? Wow? Yeah,
Hey listen, now I'm I'm glad you brought it up.
And I refer back to that website li fact dot net.
Get this book. We usually talk about a chapter tonight,
we're going to talk about chapter seventeen. But sorry Can't
is a lie written by just the greatest guy ever,
(46:54):
mister Arthur Lee. Mister Arthur Lee wrote this book. Sorry
Can't is a lie. So chapter seventeen.
Speaker 10 (47:02):
And so the you know appropriate in the discussion of
you know, the patents, in the discussion of you know,
four thousand you know that you know the number you know,
and the just you know, the discussion of of of
going down to the VA, I mean, and so it's hey,
when you get you know, to quote Arthur, when you
(47:22):
get hit or knocked down, you get up, continue to fight,
take a pause. But at eight you're still in It
couldn't be more appropriate.
Speaker 1 (47:32):
Tumble wumba.
Speaker 4 (47:34):
Well, you know, I think your service to our country
and some of the stories you tell about the men
you're with, and it always reinvigorates my passion to do
this with the veterans. And I think that you know,
the people in the military truly understand that the standing account.
You get knocked down, you get up, you breathe, you reformulate,
(47:57):
you go again. And also of the wingman. Then you
know these are not you know, and the villa is
a problem. Back to you, Phil, these guys just serve
with You've seen what they have to go through. You've
seen the you know, you told me the explosions, and
you know, God man, how can we not take care
(48:19):
of them?
Speaker 3 (48:21):
Right?
Speaker 5 (48:21):
Ce j?
Speaker 4 (48:21):
I mean you you just feel it when we discussed this,
when we say we have to persevere.
Speaker 10 (48:28):
Yes, absolutely, I mean it's very personal. I'm gonna I'm
just gonna give a side shout out to the nineteen
ninety seven UK Sensation reference that was made about getting
knocked down.
Speaker 1 (48:45):
Uh oh, I get knocked down, but I had to
get up again. You're never going to keep.
Speaker 3 (48:51):
He identified song right there.
Speaker 6 (48:55):
You want to keep me the way to go? Pat
You got Rick didn't know what I was talking about.
Speaker 3 (49:00):
No, I knew. I know the band tchubble Bumba, I
know the song.
Speaker 1 (49:03):
They have another song that one drinking. We got the
album drinking song.
Speaker 3 (49:10):
Yeah, I know I got knocked out. It was Pete
Corwin's we're pulling references out now getting away from Trouble
Wumba to one of our friends. I think it was
his wedding song. Definitely, the first time I heard it
was that reception.
Speaker 1 (49:22):
Yeah, where the police called this wedding wasn't on an
episode of cops.
Speaker 3 (49:26):
Holy cow. You know we already were We already talked
with Ray about the statistics that around Life Act and
saving lives. But we should put somebody on or have
someone on staff that looks up other facts about Chuble
Wumba because I don't think they I don't think that
they played.
Speaker 6 (49:41):
Think they're one fact band, not.
Speaker 1 (49:47):
Think they're fascinating.
Speaker 3 (49:51):
Tub Thumping, right, tub Thumping is the name of the song.
It's not I get knocked out, It's.
Speaker 10 (49:56):
Tob Thumping, It's Troumble Wamba.
Speaker 3 (49:58):
Yeah, and I in nineteen ninety seven, is that correct?
Speaker 10 (50:02):
Ninety seven?
Speaker 3 (50:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (50:03):
The UK Sensation.
Speaker 1 (50:08):
Expert the title went to five.
Speaker 3 (50:10):
The bullet no one would ever say is not well rounded? Yeah,
no one, no one.
Speaker 4 (50:15):
I can him talk all day, my kid, Yeah, we
we should just have him tell stories, yesday we'll just
see here.
Speaker 3 (50:22):
Yeah, some remember when CJ was classified and he was
the first thing Firstursday.
Speaker 1 (50:26):
First two years. We n know him. He couldn't talk,
he was in the service.
Speaker 6 (50:28):
Still he was telling He was looking at you like
I want to talk.
Speaker 1 (50:32):
I want to tell you stories.
Speaker 3 (50:33):
Hey, listen, we have about a minute left in this
episode of Man in the Arena and we're talking, of
course about life facts. Mission to go down to Washington
and get some uh s h done, uh kick ass technique.
But I want to get an update. How's Britt doing.
Your son is serving We can't say exactly where, but
(50:55):
how's he doing?
Speaker 10 (50:56):
He is doing well, Yeah he is. Uh hear from
periodically and all is well.
Speaker 3 (51:05):
Then you're all star. Then you're all star.
Speaker 10 (51:07):
Wife Susan Douglas as well, she is. She remains the
all star the behind the scenes. By the way, not
to go back to a chumb of reference, but she
did just message. They had twenty eight clamoring for it.
So what's up twenty eight songsma.
Speaker 6 (51:23):
They have they have to put out an album, but
they're all versions of that song.
Speaker 1 (51:29):
Version I get, damn version, I get knocked down by.
Speaker 10 (51:35):
