You are now listening to In theMont material Man on Save Amda, a
new episode out every week on Spotify, Apple Podcast end speaker. They're gonna
be talking about the second round ofthe NHL. Yes, police, let's
get started. Welcome back to inthe Box, the eighty fifth episode,
(00:24):
roll to one hundred. That's alwaysenjoined with mister Savio Ameida, how you
doing. I'm doing very well.Material bro, I'm so happy not monkey
Opera back or after the second round? Baby, Oh my gosh, let's
hear the reactions. You want togo first? Oh yeah, this is
absolutely incredible. The city of Toronto'sjust erupted that night. So much is
(00:47):
going on. So what's going onin the hockey world? From the defending
Stanley Cup champs getting knocked out, present trophy winner's losing leaves advancing the first
time in nineteen years now, thisis gonna be the first time in our
lifetime you watch second round hockey. That's true for the leaves and perspective.
(01:07):
Yeah, dude, you mentioned itlike really well, who would have expected
these outcomes so far? And thuswe still have one more game remaining between
the Devils and Rangers. But man, this has been a really interesting playoff
series. All right. I knowwe want to talk about like the Leaves
versus Florida series, like in particularbecause we are a defense. But man,
who would have expected the Florida Panthersto beat the Boston Bruins. I
(01:30):
believe reading it was a forty threepoint difference in the standings, and man,
oh man, it was a prettyentertaining series. Oh yeah, one
hundred. Boston was the best teamin an NHL history statistically this regular season
with sixty five wins. Yeah, and the Florida Panthers were a borderline playoff
(01:52):
team like second wildcard spot like thisis just absolutely incredible, but they were
able to accomplish especial she being downthree one in the series, it just
kind of showed how relentless that groupis. Yeah, dude, Florida came
back with three straight wins. Man, And you know the player, I
know, he's you. You're abig fan of his. Matthew could chack
(02:13):
led the charge, man, anddude, it's gonna be really interesting to
see him in the second round. But like yo, I believe it's the
second and straight year now Florida ismoving on to the second round. But
if anything has to be said,it's to Toronto may Police man finally making
their parents in the second round.JT, thank you very much. Okay,
we need we need to talk aboutthis, Okay, JC, you
(02:34):
had one good game that was Gametwo. You're throwing a food goal to
send us to the second round.I'm not complaming. I love you just
as much as I did back then. I'm so happy. Those are the
goals that always work. They'll comeplayoff time, those greasy goals in front
of the net, are you rightfrom the Just throw the funk on that.
It always works. And what's thatroundic? Is this twenty twenty three?
(02:57):
John Devars ends this nineteen year drovewith the tront Maple leaves. Back
in twenty sixteen, Jonathan Vers endedthe Islanders twenty three year series win drought.
I completely forgot about that. Iremember that goal that was against Long
Goal. Yes it was against Longago. Hey, yes, so ironic?
How this all worked out? Yeah? And yo, um, I
(03:21):
don't know if you've been seeing themeetings, bro, you remember that game
for one win with the leaves orlike it was three one? That's all
coming back now? And I heardthis rumor online. It's gonna sound really
stupid, but supposed they're saying, you know, our curse, it's transitioning
to a new team right now. What teams that the Boston Bruins. I
(03:44):
hope. So that team has hashad enough success. The whole city of
Boston since two thousands had so muchsuccess, city of champions, So it's
not it's not for us. Yo. Again, Sorry, I know we're
talking about Boston a lot really quickly, but dude, they're key players.
Like accusations tiber Tuzi was incredible.I hate that guy, but he was
(04:05):
really good. But I do wantto bring up Boston's gonna start next season
with three million dollars over the cap, and I feel I think they're like,
that's a fee if I'm not mistaken, But it's that the Bergion signed
a two year deal two point fivemillion, correct? Was it two years?
I think so. Hey, again, this is just pure speculation.
(04:27):
But the scene last night again recordingMonday, GONN upload this Tuesday. The
scene last night at the end ofthe floor of the Boston game, it
seemed like his career's coming to anend. Oh yeah, you're right.
That emotional moment with him you know, saying about two teammates and him in
Marshan after ten years, great battles, a lot of wins, losses,
and it seems like his curge comingto an end. So I assume that
(04:49):
two million dollars is not being reducted. That's true? Am I correct?
I think you're right. I thinkthere was still one million dollars left over.
I think it was due to DavidCraigi, but Lacrosse Bridge when we
get there. But I just wantto say, um, really quickly,
I don't think the Boston Ruins aregonna make the Cup or make it to
the Stanley Cup next year. That'sjust in the playoffs. Yeah, the
(05:09):
playoffs, That's what I meant. That could be a hot take, But
again I don't think as all ofus had him finishing as high as they
did yet setting our record for theNHL, but just goes to show anything
is possible. And I'm not sureif you recall this, my hot tach
was actually the Boston Bruins. Iremember that if you look back, I
(05:29):
believe that was episode eighty one.Yeah, yeah, where we had that
and a big reason for that wason least all Mark he has had very
limited playoffs success and experience. Lastyear. The twenty twenty two postseason was
his first taste of playoff action everand it's two games he had above a
four point four point goes against average. And this season, this postseason,
(05:51):
he was so disappointing for the Bruinsto blow nine hundred safe percentage yow below
and the point seven six exclusive aboveexpected. Yeah, you know, I
want to say the turning point forhim had to have been that job battle
between an even potential fight that wasgoing to happen between him and Matthew could
(06:12):
check. That would been hilarious tosee, But I just feel like that
really messed with his mentals swimming thoughhe did come in for that one game
he looked really solid. Then again, it's unfortunate to see. But again,
I don't like Boston no offense.I mean, you look at the
pain they've given us. But yeknow what I mean, they're done.
That's all that matters that So no, no, I was gonna say,
(06:32):
it's funny to believe like a worldwhere Boston gets a limited in the first
round with and leaves moving on tothe second round. Man like it has
happened quite some time. Yeah,I agree. I think Chuck was definitely
a big turning point in that series, especially getting in all Mark's head.
Yeah right, he saw he justsnapped, and you saw when that Game
seven where he ran into swiming. It was just a complete opposite reaction.
(06:56):
It was very cool and composed, and I did think the Bruins were gonna
win that that believe it was montorgoal. Yeah, the last minute or
so, dude, it's all thanksto that goal. Man. So obviously
we're both Leaf fans, so wegot to talk about this. Man,
do you think Leaves are gonna winthe series? Before we go to that,
(07:16):
I just want to recap the LeavesTampa series a little bit all over
the place. I just want tobreak down that series. Who's your MVP,
Who's the best player on Tampa thatseries? Who was the most disappointing
player? Who did you expect morefrom? So from the Leaves, I'm
gonna say the most like um likeseries MVP for that After from that team,
(07:36):
I definitely gotta go Morgan Rally here. Yeah you YouTube, Okay,
do you want to explain that? And then I'll explain the next one for
Tampa? And then oh, Yeah, for sure. I think Riley he
definitely led by example that series.Huge goals, a key moments, or
the overtime winner in that game forthe tying goal to force it to overtime
(08:00):
time. In six games that series, he had three goals and eight points,
and he was averaging twenty five minutesof ice per game, which is
just absolutely incredible. He led byexample, and you saw he was definitely
someone who put his body on theline like that entire series, jumping in
front of every single shot. Seventeenblocks that post that series, the second
(08:22):
hashest on the Leaves. The onlyperson higher than him is TJ. Brody
with twenty. But I think youdefinitely got to give a big on pre
mentions to awesome Matthews, a seriestwo who stepped up big when the Leaves
need him. He had the twogoal performance in game three, then that
big goal in game five and six, and you know, five goals a
series and nine points. So theseguys were huge factors for the Leafs advantage.
(08:46):
I definitely agree here Man, andyou know, going to Tampa now,
I feel like their best player hadto have been Victor Hedman. Man,
this guy is a guy I feltthat he gave everything with every shift
he had, and he was steadydefensively. He had probably one of the
most underrated seasons I've ever seen, not really getting an attention for it,
but nonetheless he was still able toproduce offensively as well. Insane man.
(09:09):
Without this team or without him onthis team, I'm Tampa would have been
shut down. Three assists for threepoints in five games, and obviously one
game he missed. Toronto really tookadvantage. But it's good to see and
I'm gonna be really interested to seehow he's gonna be playing this next season.
No, yeah, very well saidlike he extreally under the season.
(09:31):
You really haven't heard too much ofhim because you have so much big defenseman
this year putting up unreal numbers. But he's a guy who went very under
the radar with a point per gameseason. Yeah, nine forty assists.
Yeah, he was unreal. Line. You know with siRNA, the line
obviously McDonald gone. He obviously yougot to step up even bigger than before.
(09:52):
And the playing through an injury, and you saw, like you mentioned
that first game, that second gamewhen he was out the least put up
a seven on them. Yeah, crazy man. But I also, yeah,
I just got to give a hugendable mention to Corey Perry, who
in the ice time he played,he had a huge impact, especially early
on in the series, two biggoals, always getting under underneath the leaf
(10:15):
skin and always being in front ofSamson Off. Yeah even that Sarelli lan,
I felt like that was really likea good um line matchup against the
Matthews Ligne. Yes, you evenhad they had their they had the Astrelli,
head Gland and Kloreine. I think, yeah, maybe I'm wrong,
but six six points, three goals, three assists against that, like against
(10:35):
that top pair, absolutely insane. But anyway, what's the next type of
player you wanted to go over theseries? I actually want to us who
do you believe it's the most disappointingplayer of this series on either Team tenor
Jano by far? Oh my gosh. You see what they gave up for
him. He did not come toplay at all three games played minus two
(10:56):
five penny minutes, and that wasthat one fight where him and Chan he
got some good shots, thirteen minutesof ice time, not really anything to
chauffeur. He got replaced by um. Okay, I'm gonna really butcher this
guy's name, Esmiot. I thinkI think that's how you say. Obviously
he got taken out in Game onewith that McCabe hit, but ever since
(11:16):
coming back he ended up scoring agoal, almost scored on the breakaway in
Game six overtime to force the Gameseven, but overall much more impactful and
tenant. You know, just reallywas not there for this team at all.
Well, if I'm not mistaken,I believe he was. Did you
get taken the lineup? I knowyou was taken out, but I believe
he was also dealing with an injury. Yeah, that injury related, but
(11:37):
like, for me, how muchof it is really injury related if he's
playing the two games after that fight, I mean less he like tweaked something
in between practice that you won't know, but well he did have He also
got up in mind, he didhave that injury prior to the postseason,
that's true, took him out afew weeks. But no, I do
(11:58):
agree he was extremely disappointed. Andyeah, what they gave up for him?
What the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, Yeah,
gave up all the picks. It'syour for him, But again, that's
what kind of Tampa does though theyoverpay for guys, you know, like
look what they did back in twentytwenty when they overpaid for both Barclay grudrou
Yeah, Blake Coleman. But againthat they work out right, so it's
(12:22):
hard to question. Even look atBrandon Hegel. I believe they gave up
two first shoun picks for him andhe's been an unreal player for them.
But yeah, you know that, you know, it didn't really work out
the way the same way Grudroa did. Granted the team is a little bit
different. But the most disappointed playerfor me, I gotta give it to
Andrew Vasilevski. Other than Game five, you expected a law more out of
(12:45):
him. No, I see yourplan, man. He was sorry real
quickly. Vassilevski, Man, hewas. He's been the foundation of his
team for so long, man,and it's fortunate to see how it progressed
as a series went on. Ibelieve you had a safe percentage under nine
hundred, and it's really disappointing tosay the least, Yeah goes against of
(13:09):
over three point five and safe percentageof Ryander nine hundred eight seventy five.
Yeah, and Samsonov he definitely allplayed in this entire series, other than
the exception that game five mm hmm, man oh man. Really tough to
say. Anyway, I believe thenext one's like, uh, I forgot
(13:31):
it was who's the next what's thenext category? I should say, we
want to cover here? That wasabout it. I could ask you,
though, who do you who?Did you expect more from this? For
me? Yeah? Jt hmm don'tokay, I know that's really tough for
me saying oh no, I'm gonnasay GT and Willie kinda yeah. Obviously
(13:52):
there are core guys. Um.I just had to give me a second.
The Toronto may Be Leiefs and Jteam Willy Kneelander. Willy knee Lander
had seven points. John Tavarius hadseven points as well. But I just
don't I didn't feel like this wasenough. Obviously that's more than a point
per game, but dude, withthe amount of stuff that was happening,
(14:13):
I just felt like they did notshow their offensive capabilities were not there.
John Tavarius obviously had that hattery gusthree out of the four goals he had
in the second game. Same withniel Lander. I believe both his goals
came in the first and second gameand just nothing much after that, and
I just need you need more. And the death players came to play for
Toronto, which is good to see, but you need your core and hopefully
they come back in the second round. Yeah, very well said. And
(14:35):
let's actually transition to that second roundmatchup now, John may Police first,
the Florida Panthers, and yeah,we're goldn't recap a couple of the more
a couple of the other second roundmatchups, but again, we're both Leaf
fans. This is the one thatcatches are the most. Yeah, so
you want to jump right into itand break this down for us. Okay,
So how should I set this off? Because we have this team,
(14:58):
the Florida Panthers, who just beatthe Boston Bruins, who I know they're
feeling hot. Okay, there's acouple things I want to talk about when
it comes to Florida Panthers. Yeah, Matthew Chuck here five goals leading a
team and that eleven points. BrandonMontur absolute beauty on defense man. He
was another big asset to this teamand another reason why they made it as
(15:20):
far as they did. Carter bHaigy ended up scoring um the ok winner
to send Florida to the second round, and Alexander Barkov you know what I'm
actually I'm not also include Sam Benand The's and this. I feel like
these are your five players that reallyset the tone and really gave an understanding
of what it's going to be likeplaying against them. And we see this,
(15:41):
especially when like how they took outBoston. So how should I How
should I start this material? BecauseI'm trying to think because at the end
of the day, this can bean insane matchup no matter how they play
each other out, and it's gonnabe a physical and long grinding series.
Yeah. And if I'm being honest, as much as I don't want to
(16:02):
see this, I see this goingsix games. Yeah. Wow, No,
I agree. And before I givemy prediction, I just want to
say something very quickly. At thebeginning of the twenty one twenty two season,
these two teams had the longest activeplayoff series win drought, having not
seen second rounds since nineteen ninety sixfor the Florida Panthers in Toronto twenty twenty
(16:26):
four. Now they're finally going toface each other and So this regular season,
Charla May Believes and Florida Panthers haveplayed faced each other four times,
Leaves coming on top three of thosetimes, but three out of four of
those games have both been forced haveall been forced to ot. So this
(16:47):
is going to be interesting one forsure. I do believe without a doubt,
Florida is the preferred matchup over theBoston Bruins, especially since even if
the Leaves are playing the Bruins, you know, you have at the back
of their head. They beat themthe last they beat them two years back
in twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen,Right, Yeah, have that to back
their head. They've had their number, right. But the thing is,
what's scary about Florida right now?Obviously you know the exception of them taking
(17:11):
out Boston, you know what you'regonna get from Kachuck. He's gonna be
a Matthews and Miner's face the entireseries. I'm gonna give him a second.
Yeah, And like you mentioned, those other guys with Benn and mont
tour Blad, they've been phenomenal.M But we haven't seen the best of
the Barkoff yet. You haven't seenthe best of Barkoff Overga. In my
opinion, I still see a lotmore of all of those guys. Barkoff
(17:36):
only one goal that series. Youhave not got Gout in the best of
him yet. And Sergey Robrowski isstarting to feel it. Those last two
games. She was phenomenal. Right, that's what I'm saying. I feel
that this team is gonna be ableto like really surprise a lot of people,
just like how they surprised the BostonBruins here. And this is why
I feel like it's gonna be alengthy series. It's gonna be a long,
(17:56):
grinding, like really an over lovingatmosphere. And by the way,
I just want to throw this allhere. I don't know why or who
came up with this, but Floridarestricting tickets to only being bought in America
has got to be like the mostdouche bag and dumbest thing I've ever Yeah,
(18:19):
really yeah, So if you havean American residence, you can buy
it, buy a ticket, Butif you have a Canadian residence and you're
looking to buy it, it's notgonna happen. Well, that's horrible,
exactly. I'm thinking. I'm hopingsomething happens to change that, but man
o, man like, that's stupidas hell. I'm still I'm sure that
(18:41):
the seat's still gonna be packed withLee fans. So yeah, I mean,
I'm sure there will be secondhand buyerslike, oh yeah, I bought
it, I'll resell it.'mjust getting told for like such a higher
price. But transition back very quickly. I always said we haven't seen the
best of bark Off, but inmy opinion, again, we haven't seen
the best sell Marner and Willie thatseries. Marner was obviously very good,
(19:03):
but there was times but you expectmore from him. In my opinion,
there's times he had some defensive lapsesand there was times where situations where even
look at that breakaway in Game five, where that's something he typically would bury.
Again, I don't think we gotthe best of both those guys,
So I think it's gonna be avery long series. Like you mentioned,
I think he goes to distance.Yeah, both teams are. I like
(19:27):
the matchup though for the Leaves.I think the Leaves match it up against
them very nicely. I think youcould argue they have the slight edge in
defense. Just the way Montur hasbeen performing this series, this pass in
this entire season. And you can'tforget about Eckblad, who obviously had to
miss that game and how much ofa loss that was. But when he
came back, he sounded. Hewas really defensively sound. Yeah, so
(19:52):
if I had to make it aprediction, I would agree with you,
and I'm going with to trum maythe leaves in six games. Okay,
I think all myself vantage the seriesis going to be huge as much as
I think so too, But lookat look at the leafs this um what's
it called? This series? Orsorry, the most they're previously using against
the type of billinning, it didnot matter. But again, they played
(20:15):
well on the road, and I'mhoping they played good at home because you
know what, I'm not honest.I was kind of feeling bad for the
fans that did go to the gamebecause out of the three games they played
at home, only one of them, only one of them was the win.
So yeah, anyway, Okay, now with all this being said,
let's just wrap up the first roundbecause we're still missing a single game which
(20:37):
is going to get concluded later tonight, and that's between the New Jersey Devils
and New York Rangers really quickly.Let's just think about this. Who do
you think is moving on? BecauseI think we had different picks here and
our original picks which did not getreleased due to technical difficulties. Yeah,
we apologize for that. We've it'sbeen a while since we've uploaded. We
(21:00):
were trying to get out their playoffprediction a week or two ago. Yeah,
unfortunately there was a lot of audiodifficulties. Who were unable to do
that. Yeah, but for myprediction, I had the New York Rangers
taking this and I believe six games. I didn't expect to go to seven,
but I wasn't surprised at all. This team is young and relentless,
and their decourse probably one of thebest in this entire postseason. Dude,
(21:22):
let me tell you something right now. I had the Devils taking in seven
games. But man, no,man, every time I see Chris Carter
play, he's changing the narrative.Like I am so shocked by like how
well he's performing in this postseason.I believe he just tied a record for
like the most points, sorry, the most goals in an elimination game.
(21:44):
Sorry, has he Yeah? Yeah, it's either like like a franchise record
or like all time but see soyeah so, because there was a lot
of good names on that list.Man. But anyway, like moving on
here, like the Devils are goingto have a home ice advantage. They're
gonna have the crowd and that obviouslythat does play into effect. But the
most important thing of having a homemisadvantage is you get last change, which
(22:07):
I really think they're gonna use totheir benefit. I'm really going to be
curious to see who they're going tostart in goal as well as obviously they
started their backup. I forgot thisguy's name, but you know, you
know who the Devil's goalies. Thenew Jers Devil's goalie is Mackenzie Blackwood,
none of the other one. Theother one who started it was a Smith.
(22:29):
Okay, yeah, I believe he'sgonna get to start again. He's
been. He's been their series MVPif they do win, and I just
think Jack Hughes is gonna come outstrong man. Hmm. What about Yola
checking the NHL dot com right now, they do have him projected to play
okay over retech Vana check. Butyeah, this whole series been interesting.
(22:52):
You know, Tampa actually not Tampa, the Rangers taking the first two,
New jersually taking the next three. Then the most recent game, Game six,
the Devils, the Rangers taking it, tying the series up. I
think it's gonna be very interesting forsure. And Cryer he's been a huge
X factor six goals this postseason. How you said you have that record,
(23:14):
I'd have to fact check that Ishould taking a photo. Yeah, man,
I think this could really go eitherway. No, I agree,
I agree, Okay, this isa hard one. I think it's I
really don't know. Okay, youyou took the Rangers, I'll take the
Devils. But I think the mostimportant question here is whichever team goes on
(23:36):
to that second round. Do youbelieve they're beating the Carolina A Hurricanes,
because I do for one, Yeah, I just don't agree. I just
don't think the Carolina Hurricanes have whatit takes. They've had an easy matchup
against the New York Owners, whoreally kind of gave them a run for
their money. Obviously, what aflukey Yes, which I sent them to
(23:57):
the second round, But I don'tthink that. I don't think Carolina is
going going down without a fight.I just feel like it's going to go
to the distance. But I feellike whatever team moves on here is gonna
beat Carolina, especially due to theinjuries, as I think it's sexuality and
m and the under special cover bothstill both fought for them. No,
no, not only that someone gota broken hand. I believe I forgot
(24:19):
who it was. Sorry, justhow you know I haven't been paying attention
to teams that are not the leaguespeople to Ryan, is that the play?
Yeah? Yeah, which is anotherhuge loss, except I don't like
that guy because he did nothing formy fantasy team. And Freddie Anderson stayed
the day after coming off an unrealperformance against Uth. Yeah, he played
(24:41):
crazy good man. So again, you would you presume Carolina rolls with him
or goes back. Yeah? SoI think they're with him, but only
if he's healthy. And I don'tthink that Russian rookie is gonna get started
either. I just feel like hehasn't got any matchups at first round.
Yeah, so again, only townwill tell. Okay, well, let's
head back to uh Let's head tothe West. Yeah, and go with
(25:04):
the Seattle Cracking versus Dallas Stars SalaCracking with a huge upset over the Colorado
Avalanche, the defending Stanley Cup championsin their first playoff appears. I gotta,
I gotta yeah, really crazy matchup. Who would have expected the Seattle
Cracking to beat the Colorado Avalanche.Like you mentioned the defending Stanley Cup champions,
(25:27):
and man, they played a hellof hockey. Did you see the
celebration but I think it was grubauRonette. After that, I said that
playing his former team felt very nice. Oh my gosh. But again,
my respect is earned for the SeattleCracking like I did not expect them to.
I'll play the Avalanche here and itreally goes to show anything is possible.
(25:48):
But obviously, with all this beingsaid, they're gonna have to play
the Dallas Stars, who had aphenomenal matchup against the Minnesota Wild and winning
in six games, and ultimately theywon due to their offense but also due
to their defense. And Jacob Hungerare like a statement maker in this series
and I expect him to continue thistrend. Yeah sorry, thought I really
(26:14):
butchered anyway, So I'm gonna takethe Dallas Stars in seven games over the
Seattle Seattle Cracking. Well, Ijust want to say, yet, with
Colorado this kind of just proves howhard it is to be to be a
modern dynasty. I want to say, yeah, my belief hopefully one upcoming
upcoming Colorado. Obviously last year theywere so dominant the entire playoff run,
(26:40):
and you know this this series thisyear, they lost you know, some
key pieces. They lost their secondline center in the Nazam Cajury, right,
Yeah, and then they had Alexnew Hook triv feel that void,
and you had Gabriel land Scoff outwith injury the entire season. Obviously,
also during the off season you hada new goalie and you have come and
Kemper out. Yeah. And thenyou also had Valuing the Truchkin dealing with
(27:06):
that drinking issues. Yes, drinking. I was gonna say, sorry,
I don't know, Well, it'sbeen out there right, some offace issues.
That's why I just want to say, it's so hard to become modern
dynasty. There's so much factors atplay keeping the team together, injuries,
problems outside the game. But Colorado, I'm sure they're going to go on
another playoff run very soon. Butfor this series, like you mentioned,
(27:30):
Austener was fantastic, stopping one hundredand seventy shots, although one hundred and
eighty three he's faced posting right undera nine thirty safe percentage and Rope hints
he was the MVP of that seriesfor Dallas with twelve points five goals.
Him and Robertson toured up and theyhad so much depths scoring from sagging to
(27:52):
Ben Dadanoff, who was a greataccusation at that deadline. Skin was so
solid that back end for them.Yeah, I think this team, this
is a little more complete than whatColorado was. So for that reason,
I agree with you. I thinkit's gonna be much difficult and harder matchup
Seattle. It's gonna have to faceand I got Dallas in six. Okay,
(28:15):
so you have them six, Ihave him seven. And man,
coming off the last year, whodid Dallas play? Um that that was
enough? That has lost the firstroal matchup? Right? It was against
Calgary? Yeah it was matth Yeah, Yeah, I think it was against
Calgary and man, they've really madethe additions in the need. Their course
stepped up big time, and Ithink just like either going to the conference
(28:38):
finals. Okay, so let's doour last matchup here between the biggest Golden
Knights in Edmonton oilers and oh mygosh, we need to talk about this
for a second. Emerton oilers toLA series. That last game was a
thriller. And I don't know ifyou've seen this club. I'm sure you
have. I can't believe um StuartSkinner letting that goal due to his broken
(29:03):
stick. Yeah, that was crazy. Oh my gosh. Bro Oh yeah,
that's series, especially that last game. This whole series was back and
forth, especially that last game.It really could have went either way.
Great great played by m Moto toend, a great shot from the point.
But I think LA though their biggestfault this series was their goaltending.
(29:27):
I did not think Jones Corporsalo wastheir guy. Yeah, no, no,
I agree. They really shipped thebed. I know that's what you're
saying when it came to goaltending andit was not good. I was honestly
pretty surprised that corpor Slo did notplayed up to expectations. Obviously, well,
to be fair, like, didyou what did you really did from
(29:48):
him? Right? I don't thinkmost people outside LA fans expected much him
and Luca in my bracket, Iwould say I actually expecting Corpus better than
expected. I expected him kind ofeven be better than Stuart Skinner, and
man, it's really gonna be reallyinteresting to see how it's gonna they're gonna
play against this biggest team because totallydifferent breed. Anyway, let's transition to
(30:14):
the biggest school Knights in the Winnipegseries, because biggest dominated the Jets and
I kind of lost okay, reallyquickly. I just want to say this,
I kind of lost a lot ofrespect for their coach. That guy
it was not Palmers. Know who'spalm Race is not with Palmercus Panthers,
who is their coach? Because theycame out in the interview and just said,
(30:40):
yes, I lost a lot ofrespect for that guy as soon as
he came out for the postgame interview. I'm talking about his players. Yes,
even Blake Wheeler came out and said, like, that's not how he
should have handed the situation. Heshould that should have been behind closed doors.
And even if you are going tohandle the situation like that, that
needs to be the game before anelimination game to bark up the boys because
at least now you don't something tolook at Dick about it. So yeah,
(31:03):
he definitely obviously after a big lossin Game five, again smoked for
one. No, he came outand talked to the media very emotionally,
and he definitely called on his playersand called them his top guys, and
he said they were expected to bedo better. The other guys showed up.
Our guys didn't do anything, Andto me, it was pretty surprising
for head coach even do that. And yeah, this whole series, Old
(31:27):
Kenna came to a shock to mehow dominant Vegas was, especially after that
first game the Jets took very dominantvictory. I expected a lot more.
Yeah, who agree with your bonus? Wheeler Dubois shifly shifly forty gold guy,
he didn't watch his postseason, hedidn't do much for the Jets.
Yeah, you know, I wasreally expecting it to be better for UM
(31:52):
the Jets. I had them goingto seven in my original playoff bracket.
Obviously that is not the case anymore, as he has definitely proved me wrong.
I did say though, I feltthat UM whip goalie Connor hellback with
at least till two games did nothappen. But I do have to say
like he looked good. But again, no, everything's in the goal as
(32:13):
he planned. So unfortunate for them, but yeah, it did show Vegas
is like golden opportunity and how goodthey really have been. And as much
as I don't want to say this, I think they're going to the conference
finals. Oh no, okay, okay. Ronnington had a lot of difficulties
facing the La Kings, and nowthey're going up against a deeper, more
(32:35):
experienced team in the Veggat Golden Knights, and I think they're gonna have so
much trouble. I don't think Dresswas gonna have as much success as he
did going up against Bursois then hedid against the Corporalelo. Yeah, especially
up against that decor was Portrential, who popped off the first series against Theodore,
and I think a Stone, he'snot gonna really give guy like McDavid
(32:59):
that much room. Oh my gosh, she comps the whole series. Stone
has to look insane. Ever sincereturning, I've been really shocked. Even
Jack Ichol. Jack, I thinkhad like the best um not not an
entire playoff in the series, thebest single player game, like a performance,
Yeah, I think so. Ithink he scored two goals that one
(33:21):
night, But I don't know.I could be just totally not. It
was only five games, that seriesending quick, so I don't remember if
you try to pull out for youif you like, no, no,
it's fine, it's fine, it'stime. But uh yeah, that pretty
much includes like our second round predictionshere and your predictions. And oh I
didn't even say that. You're right, I know you do. Not I
think Vegas. If I'm being honest, I want to say Vegas in five.
(33:45):
I don't think it's gonna five.I think it's gonna and then then
again, I think Edmonton will shockus because I'm gonna say Vegas and seven.
I think this series going seven games. Okay. Also, I just
pulled it up right now. Youare correct, Jack Geico Game three,
two goals, three points to almosttwenty five man some time on ice completely
(34:07):
at sonomenal. I feel Castle beingscratched and the iron and streak of over
a thousand games done. Poor guy, man like the Biggest didn't need to
do that. Well, Biggest didnot need to do that. Man.
No, but again, if he'snot performing, you know, well the
guy and who probably do a littlebetter. You know that guy you keep
(34:29):
on sending me on a Coach Chippy. Yeah, Coach Chippy had like the
funniest representation of this. It waslike, you'll feel you can take the
night off and it feels like,do I still get paid? It's like,
yeah, yeah, you could stillget paid. And Phils eating banana.
He's like, Oh, by theway, you don't have to eat
that. You could actually eat somehot dogs. He's like, he feels
(34:50):
like, no way. Ever sincetwo thousand and twelve, I've just been
eating these getting ready for games. But you're telling me I can still get
paid and eat hot does like he'sa funny guy. He'd make some great
videos. Yeah, And that's thething was filled. I know it was
totally off topic. Imagine what howgood he could have been if he was
(35:12):
on this diet on his health andhe took more of that extra initiative.
Hey, bro, he's not complaining. He's a happy ass man. What
two times Stanley Cup champs racked uparound fifty million Yeah, long Sarma streak
and ntil history. But it's crazyfor his body. Yeah, exactly.
That's why it's such a what ifyou know he just won. He was
very dominant player in the two thousandstwenty tens. That's why he could have
(35:35):
been though, going back to thatpisticks here all right, when he was
a part of the Pistrick Penguins.Yeah you know it, man. But
yeah, now it's safe to saythis podcast is concluded. And I think
this one personally went like, really, well, let us know your prediction
is down in the comments down below. Let us know if you completely disagree
