Recently, the owners of pon Said Gardens, located in Keel,
announced that this would be their final year in business. Sadly,
owner and husband Dennis Lens was diagnosed with cancer and
the treatment plan will make it impossible to continue operation
of the long time beloved hosta nursery. Those who have
visited Pond Side Gardens over the years, which I've talked
about many times on my weekly radio show, are treated

like royalty at this amazing, wondrous hosta paradise. Set on
a series of ravines just at the outer edge of
the Catamarine State forests. Thousands upon thousands of hostas grow
beneath the shade trees. Another amazing aspect of the nursery
is at despite rising prices all around, the lenses keep
hosta prices at just about ten dollars per plant. That's
about half of what you would pay at any other

garden center in the area. The closing of Pond Sid
Gardens bring the end of yet another longtime treasured Midwest
gardening destination. Over the past few years, we've seen the
