If you're interested in growing hostas to perhaps already our
one of the most enjoyable and interesting ways to collect
these plants is to assemble a lineup of the Hosta
of the Year award winners. All this week on in
the Midwest Garden, I'm talking about hostas, one of the
most popular garden plants, especially for shade. Every year, the
American Hosta Growers Association designates a Hosta of the Year. Generally,

this is a variety that grows well across most of
the United States and is widely available for a price
of about fifteen dollars. In many cases, by selecting Hostas
of the Year, you are literally selecting the best of
the best. The organization goes through a number of different
steps when selecting a Hosta of the Year, and it's
usually a highly versatile, easy to grow, and dependable variety.

Growing and displaying all of the Hostas of the year
it's a goal of many hosta gardeners, and it can
be a challenge to find and collect them. All. You
may need to visit at many different nurseries as well
as order a few varieties online in order to complete
the funnel collection. The twenty twenty five Hasta of the
Year is a beautiful blue pie crust edge hosta known
as Skyrider. With its pale blue color and spectacular form,

this is certainly a sought after and beautiful addition to
the garden. You can find previous Hasta of the Year
award winners by doing a simple online search. Begin collecting
them all this summer and proudly display your Hasta of
the Year collection. I'll have more to come on hostas
