Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome to the Inside the Wedding Planner's Mind podcast with
Irene Tyndale, Chief Event Officer of Irene Tyndale Weddings and Events.
All Right, insiders, here's Irene. Welcome back to another insightful
episode of Inside the Wedding Planner's Mind. I'm your host,
Irene Tyndale, and today we're diving deep into the transformative
(00:22):
power of dreams and visions. Without vision, the people perish.
These powerful words from Proverbs twenty nine to eighteen remind
us of the profound importance of having a clear vision
for our lives and businesses. Dreams and visions are the
seeds of greatness within us. They inspire us to reach
(00:44):
for the stars and sobstrive for something beyond the ordinary.
Let's explore this concept further with some inspiring quotes and
scriptures about dreams and visions. Helen Keller once said, the
only thing worse than being blo is having sight but
no vision. This reminds us that a vision gives us
(01:06):
a purpose and direction, even in the face of adversity.
In Jeremiah twenty nine to eleven, we find for I
know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper
you and not harming them, plans to give you hope
and a future. This verse highlights that God has a
vision for each of us, a plan for our lives
(01:28):
filled with hope and promise. So how do we turn
our dreams and visions into reality? He begins with creating
a clear vision statement, a concise expression of our dreams,
our goals, and our aspirations. While Disney once said, all
dreams can come true if we have the courage to
(01:50):
pursue them. Now, let's talk about what makes a vision
statement and how to craft one. A vision statement is
a powerful tool that outlines will you want to go
and what you want to achieve. It serves as a
foundation and guide for all that you do, both of
life and in business. And here are the key components.
(02:12):
Number one clarity. Your vision statement should be clear and concise,
capturing the essence of your long term goals and aspirations.
Number two inspiration. It should be aspiring, motivating you to
reach for your dreams and overcome every obstacle that in
this life we cannot avoid. Purpose. Reflect on your core
(02:37):
values and the impact you want to make in both
life and in business. Specific be specific about what you're
envisioning for the future, including the details of how you
see yourself personally and as you see your business evolving.
It should be future oriented, write as it's already had
(03:00):
in the present tense to make it feel real and achievable.
What I want you to know about vision statements is
it is not a vision for what you want to
see next month, next year, in two years. It's a
long term vision. You need to figure out what it
(03:21):
is that you want for your business, for your life.
You know. I often admire children because children are constantly dreaming.
And I remember as a child, every every few months
I wanted to be something else and my dad rest
in peace, Daddy would say, what is it now, what
do you want to be now? And I remember as
(03:43):
a child, I wanted to be an actress, and I
wanted to be a dancer, and I wanted to be
a police officer. And it's funny I think about it
now that all the things that I wanted to be
as a child, I am none of those things now, right.
But I was always thinking and dreaming bigger and people
will pour into me and say, yes, you could do
whatever you want to do. But of course my dad
did not want me to be a police officer because
(04:05):
I grew up in New York City. So when this
idea came up in my mind to share with you
all about visions and dreams and creating a vision statement,
it is so funny how God works, because my pastor
has been talking about vision and you know, God's visions
for our life and us having a vision and the
(04:26):
work it takes to make these visions happen or these
things that these dreams into reality and what steps you
need to take. So I knew this was confirmation of
like I had to share this with you, and not
only that, in talking and interviewing the different wedding pros
that we've been talking to, wedding planners we've been talking
to and in coaching, everybody had a vision. Sometimes we
(04:47):
have a vision for ourselves that it's very small, and
other times we have visions that are crazy big that
when you share your vision with someone, it looked they
look at you and and they look at you and
they kind of like squirt their faces and like that's crazy.
Or if you're blessed enough to have a community or
a significant other or family members that are like they
(05:10):
just push you, like yes, that sounds great. How can
I help you? But I set back and I said, Okay,
I need to share with you all my personal vision
statement journeys, right, like I need to share with this community,
like I shared with my coaching community, like I share
with my inside community on Facebook, all about how I've
(05:31):
gotten to this point. And it was a great reminder
and a great boost again for me to do this episode. Right. So,
for instance, a personal statement, a personal vision statement for
myself is when I was a young girl, I am
visioned going to college and being the boss. Right. So
little did I know that I would become the boss
(05:54):
of my own company. Right. That was never my intent.
My intent was to go to college and be the
chick in the corner off like I wanted to be
a you know, a c sweeter and run a division,
get my checks, give my yearly bonuses, and just be
the boss. I never envisioned myself as an owner of
a business. Right. So that just shows you the power
(06:15):
of God, like he I had a vision and He
multiplied that vision. Right. And then also I dreamed of
marrying a supportive and loving husband, right who came from
a happy two parent household. And I'm grateful to God
to say those answers of prayers. So not only is
he supportive, he's a great father. I have, you know,
(06:38):
amazing parents and love like they say, and I am
so grateful for that. So those are a couple of
examples as a young adult, a young child that I
had for my life and those things came apart. Now
did I know at that point that that was a
vision that I was actually putting that out there. No,
it was just a feeling and a thought. I could
(07:00):
see it clearly, myself going to college and myself being
a boss and having a husband and children, you know,
like the American dream, the house, the picket, white fence
and the two point five children. Right, luckily we only
have two because the point five I think I figured
it out that the point five is like a pet
and in this house is the house, the husband and
(07:21):
the two kids. That is all we have. Really, that's
all we have time for, even though they're constantly asking
us for dogs and cats and the answers. Always know,
our life is just crazy and it's enough to keep
up with the two of them and our business. So anyway,
and here's another example of a vision statement that I
(07:42):
intentionally created. So in twenty sixteen, I was a part
of a business coaching program and our coach pushed us,
guided us to write what she called a vision story. Right,
so vision story, vision statement. So here's my story, my
vision statements that from back then, from twenty sixteen that
I wrote for the planning business as well as for
(08:06):
the coaching business. Right. So, for the planning business, I wrote.

(08:29):
Now for the coaching side of things, to provide mentoring
and education that inspires, guides and motivates aspiring wedding planners
to build heart centered businesses. Now, I basically am the
kind of person. I'm the bull in the china shop,
y'all don't know, now, you know? And I did like
(08:50):
I said it and forget it right, I wrote the vision,
I made a plane and I got to working, y'all right,
And I had not revisited this state these statements in
a few years. So I remember, like in twenty one,
like late twenty one twenty two, I was I did
a live in my Inner Circle Facebook community for planners
(09:11):
talking about vision statement. It was probably towards the end
of twenty one beginning of twenty two, because I was
getting them into the mindset of preparing for the new year.
And we all know what happened in twenty twenty. We
were still kind of coming out of it in twenty
one twenty two a little bit, so I was kind
of encouraging everybody about, hey, what do you want for
your future? Like what do you see for the future
(09:33):
of your business? Right? Because it's not enough to create
to open up a magazine and create and pull out
a bunch of pictures, because the work clearly says, write
the vision and make it plain and listen. I love
to write my vision statements, my goal for the year,
and then make a collage that reflects that. I love
(09:56):
doing that and one of the activities that we do
as a family. My daughter has done it with some
of her friends. But I always say it's good to
journal what the vision is because the word says, write
the vision to make it plane right, just write it
back then they had tablets like stone tablets. Now we
have every mechanism known to man to write that vision,
to make it plain, right, but it's so crazy. So
(10:20):
I was sharing these visions, these twenty twenty six vision
statements with the community and I literally started crying. It
was tears of gratitude because, like I said, I said
it and forget it like I did it and got
to working. But what's amazing and what's beautiful is that
everything that was in that statement was had come true. Right.
(10:43):
We had a team of planners I had at this
point in twenty two. I was at my second office
location in Midtown when I wrote this in twenty twenty six.
We signed at least to be to have an office
in twenty eight, so it took a while. So I
want you to know that a vision, when you write
(11:04):
a vision statement, it's not going to happen quickly. But
everything that you do, every decision that you make, every
investment you make, should point towards those ultimate visions. Right. So, yes,
we had the office in Mintal, We had a team,
we were planning and designing. I was able to purchase
a Bridle show and produce Bridle shows here in Atlanta
(11:25):
for some years. Right, we started planning events all through
the Southeast, ated corporate events. The list goes on and on,
and now it's such a short statement, and we accomplished
so much. Now things change and things evolve, and things
get updated, and visions get updated, goals get updated. Were overall,
I'm just grateful that I was able to accomplish that
(11:48):
what I wrote in twenty twenty, twenty sixteen, and by
twenty twenty two I had accomplished all those So of course,
back to the drawing board I went, and I had
to create ate some new vision statements. And at this
point I really took some time to think about what
I wanted to do and wrote one in you know,
(12:08):
twenty you know, it took some time, wrote it in
twenty two, twenty three, and then you know, updated in
twenty three, twenty four, because I feel like there's the
vision statements should be updated, but it should be updated
to improve it, to add to it, not necessarily take
it away from it. Right, So, currently my vision statements
focused on three areas personal business and now my coaching
(12:32):
and education. Right, so my personal vision is I nurture
my relationships, prioritize self care and embrace joy and fulfillment
each day while seeking guidance from God and living in
alignment with His purpose for me. Amen business vision. My
(12:53):
business vision. Oh, this one is a lot longer than
it was in twenty sixteen. My business vision is Irene
